"One of the final things up until the point where the music started. That's why let the music play for so long. But then also it's just the damn good song. It is song. Yes. Interrupt, Michael Franti. No, no, no, no, no. No. And again. Thanks, Mike. Olivero. Thank you. Ah, Ryan happy. Ah, released the needs. Who am I missing on my missing? Corey Cardinal Cory Cardinal. That's it. I last but not least. Certainly Cory Cardinal for the micro s. O that preceded. That's alright. Why you having such a good week or had such a good week? Well, first off earlier this week. I know everyone kind of pokes fun at me for my interest in swords and all that good stuff, but Do you have to change the subject? Come on, Steady my moment. Okay, so your interest in what now? For my interest in like swords, you know, like historical European martial arts, Remember? I think it was Not last week, but the week before that we were talking about them. Okay? Yes. And then and I interrupted you. No worries. I just I wasn't worried. I was doing it for the sake of the show. But for doubt without swig, you've got be over a barrel. So please, please. In rapture us with your tales of video. What is it is a medieval swords or historical swords, Eso its history. Ical European martial arts and that encompasses more than just European, But sword arts from all over the world from the Middle East Asia, too, You know Viking Stiles, where, whatever kind of way that people used to live hundreds and thousands of years ago. There's people who are interested in re creating elements of their life. You have entire Societies of people like like a group like a club. I guess that air dedicated to not just combat but cooking and housekeeping in those ways, and it's like a hobby. It's ah, It's a hobby. When and how. And how does one get into this? Sometimes you can just look them up online in the area. Know that we have no no, no, no, no, no, no. Trust me. I was not asking you. How would I get into this? Because I'm asking you OK, notorious. How did know how did this get onto your radar? In other words, you're a kid growing up. And where does a fascination for Martial arts, Medieval sword fighting spring from well, you know, growing up. You just You have an interest in the ancient history and history in general, because when I was growing up, I was always one of those kids who thought history was really need. I really enjoyed studying. You know the way people lived a long time ago and being a little kid, I always thought that knights were cool. I like the armor and all that stuff and for you and only child Yes, I wasn't only exact and active imagination continues. So of course, you know, growing up. You always think. Oh, man, it be cool toe have a suit of armor and of you to fight like that, And you realize as you get older, and you have money that's like, well, you know, I could spin some money to achieve some of that dream, and there are a lot of people who feel the same way And it's the reason people put on Renaissance festivals Because it's fun. It's a way to kind of step into another world for a little bit. Now let me let me offer an all alternate rationed Now for what? People throw medieval festivals in Renaissance festivals, Okay, because they feel out of place in this time period And this world you say, like old souls know, nerdy souls. I like the way you try and put yourself over that did not escape for what I've saying, is they they long for Time when nerds ruled the world and therefore and weren't ridiculed like they are rightfully so now. And so they recreate that era in which they could walk around in autonomy chomping down the giant turkey leg. Where in pantaloons and girls dresses. I love those turkey legs don't know about my turkey leg. Don't exclude girls dresses to like You just let the turkey legs descriptive. Now we don't you like the whole thing? Well, OK, so so that so anyway. So you what made you have a good week with that again? So I had often like when I was younger. I had like wooden swords and stuff that you know, mostly decorative as you're a little kid, you swinging around, but it's not really Ah. It's not really something that's weighted properly for practicing actuals styles like a martial artist would. And so I think it was two weeks ago, I had ordered a practice sword which is like actually actually waited properly. You live with your parents, right? No, I live with my girlfriend. She's supportive, Andi. Another thing about it is without being properly weighted like these swords are heavy. So by doing sword drills and by practicing that that's also a nice way to say in shape and get a lot of definition in your arms and your chest area. So I've had that going for me having that Especially with the Corona virus, you know, throwing pretty much every normal daily schedule out the window. It's nice to have something every day. It's like, okay, I need to go do this. I'm going to enjoy doing this. All right now. This is what I have. Ah, that that was all well and good. That was a great Spencer. Fantastic. No, Let me have some At what point In the relationship with a girl with at the beginning phases. Do you apprise her of your interest and swords and medieval times and Renaissance festivals? I think sooner rather than later because I believe that you want to be your genuine self with someone because if you're not first say that, that's what are you trying to get laid? Or you trying to have a releases relationship? Now look. If you if you spend too long line you are you're just gonna have to keep playing that character resting airlines out on nobody don't know what he said. Anything about. Live it, Sze. Not about line. It's about a slow is, if you have red flag ish elements to your character. It's about a slow reveal. So you don't You don't frighten them away. You're trying. You're trying to lure a mouse to you with a piece of cheese. If you don't want to make any broad movements, any big gestures like Hey, which hand me my sword over there behind the food, Todd. Okay, let's say maybe you could start. Maybe you could start by introducing the girl to some some period pieces of like those sorts of movies. You know what have a watch Braveheart and the King and all those things that kind of kind of let her know that you have an interest in that. Times. I like that. Now. Now, Now I like where you're going with that You're not fully exposing your dedication to dressing up in armor and fighting other men and arm. Exactly. Exactly. You don't want to bring a sword out to a girl until you have probably slept together. I'm saying at least five times 56 tops. I Ah, otherwise otherwise you're just you're just going to queer. The deal, As the saying goes now the other thing is so his brave heart. I'm assuming you're Favorite period piece from that time era. Braveheart definitely has a great battle scene. I like it. It's a fun movie. There was one that I I watched it on Netflix or wasn't Netflix the other day? I watched it online. It's about. It's a more recent movie, and it's about the war between England and France. But all right. I'm already bored. Let me tell you what you wanna watch. Okay. Can you tell you what the greatest period piece off that particular era if you're talking nights and swords and things of that nature? Ah, a little film You might have heard of called Lady Hawk. Have you heard of lady? Oh, I have not heard of Lady Hawk. Sell me on it. Ah, first off. I don't have to sell you on it later. Understand something, Lady Lady Hawks. Legend and lore is already in place, though. How? I can't even believe That you have not seen Lady Hawk And this is the period in which you like to dwell. Lady Hawk was a film directed by Ah young Richard Donner. You might know Richard Donner is the man that brought a Superman. One of the greatest comic book movies ever also gave us the lethal weapons franchise. Richard Quite quite a few other interesting films and a couple that were fluff, But Richard Donner was an A list director. Lady Hall stars, a young Matthew Broderick as a thief. But the main stars are Rutger Hauer from the greatest movie ever made Blade Runner and a very beautiful Michelle Pfeiffer. Now there is a There is a witch off sorts that puts a curse on them. They're there. They're lovers, they but they're for their forbidden lovers. And so the curses And I don't make sure I get this right because sometimes I reverse it. The curses Rutger Hauer. Is a wolf by night. And Michelle Pfeiffer during the day. Is.

"Have you heard of Lady who? I have not heard of Lady Hawk. Sell me on it under first off. I don't have to sell you on it later. Understand something, Lady Lady Hawks. The curses Rutger Hauer is a wolf by night. And Michelle Pfeiffer during the day. Is A hawk. Ah Hawk right. That explains the title deed. Yes, yes, And it's a It's a very cute C. It's a very like record. Howard, if you know him his presence. I mean, alright, His presence on screen is just phenomenal. And Matthew Broderick is his kind of whimsical, smart Alec. You sell, and Matthew Broderick is the one Rutger Hauer puts him in tars of watching her. And and and I want to say, Yeah. Matthew Broderick eyes put in charge of watching her when he's a wolf because he can't protect her. So he starts calling her. He starts calling her Lady Hall and that's an and Rutger Hauer likes that, But that's where the title comes from. So but but the curse of it isthe They can never touch each other. They can never lay human to human eyes on each other s O. They are they are destined to never, you know, be able to consummate their love. They're destined to never be ableto have a romance. There's one scene in particular. And it is my favorite scene from the movie, and I think if anybody else watches it It always points out to be their favorite scene. There's one scene where you get to see that you get to see the transformation. Rutger Hauer Ah, is it And it's It takes place in Ah, snow covered region, So it's just absolutely stunning. It's absolutely beautiful, but Rutger Hauer Is the wolf. And Michelle Pfeiffer is Michelle Pfeiffer and The wolf starts turning back because the sun starts coming up. And Matthew Broderick keeps Michelle Pfeiffer keeps the wolf at his side and the wolf protects them at night. The sun starts coming up. And you start to see the wolf starts to turn into Rutger Hauer. And now Michelle Pfeiffer, who is Michelle Pfeiffer and not the hawk at this point is looking at this body of the wolf starts to morph in back into Rutger Hauer. And The Wolf's eyes. Wow, it's transforming is looking in myself. Five human eyes. It's really It's really, really touching and Brazil with five. It's looking at him and he's He's like 2/3 storing the transformation that he starts to transform from myself. I've been to the hawk, but there's still enough form of her toe where you're looking at it, and you're like, okay, this is gonna happen. They're going to be able to do this. They're going to be able to touch They're going to be able to a human eyes on each other again and in the end and and and the music is building That's just a really poignant scene and in the fraction and when I say the fraction of a second you couldn't sly the sliver of Hair through it. It looks just like they're about to do it and see Turkey as Rutger Howard now becomes a man and he's laying on the ground because it was well. He reaches his head out for as he flipping turns into a hawk and flies away and he buries his head into the snow. And he goes. What do you gotta do, Teo? Make a witch man. Put that kind of curse on you. That's just I have to be out of which there though. There's a lot of the movie that I forget. I will tell you this Matthew Broderick, it's hilarious. The fight scene in the end is brilliant. Rutger Hauer was born TTO play at night. If there's a There's a There's a there's a very old film. Call it Don't to dare. Don't you dare play off Rutger Hauer with music that you gonna pull that music down, You know also that time understand some when I'm when I'm in my eighties movies bag don't ever interrupt me is where I live right there is there's a movie called flesh and Blood that was directed by their who, even whom was just this really blood and guts Director German Director, which put Rutgers How on the map, So you want to go back and you want to look at flesh and blood. But Rutger Hauer was born to play a night is beautiful. The one flaw and I have to say this. The one flaw of Lady Hong is that there's it has. It has a very organic To the times to the era soundtrack, which is beautiful a score, which is which that scene that I told you about with score to, But then there's also this tangerine dream score..
