"Born in la mirada California and then then I believe that's pretty much that's pretty much going to do it and not tell the birthdays big birthdays on this date in history but that's okay not every day can be a huge day for that we got on this date in history coming up next hour on Memphis morning news are etiquette expert should be calling us soon and suspects got six thirty five I guess proper etiquette would be to call early but that's okay we won't buster on that she's making the rounds this morning top stories Billy ray Turner who is accused of taking part in the murder of Lawrence right back in two thousand ten had a court hearing yesterday that has been postponed until the middle of January as both sides look to get other expert witnesses lined up and ready so that they can go to trial so it looks like it'll be spring of next year when all of that will will be going on from also in the news the the US this is me goodness I just heard about this I guess late yesterday I didn't catch it when it first happened but down in Mississippi Jackson state university was on lock down after they had an active shooter on the campus the lot down of course has now been lifted since they were investigating a shooting on campus where a man was wounded at eleven o'clock in the morning there's been no information for the most part on the motive or the suspect it is at a parking lot near campus victim was shot in the leg with non life threatening injuries thank goodness they did confirm that the shooter was not ace is is not a student rescue to the shooting victims not a student but they can't confirm whether or not the shooter is a student or not when you're over by campus then so they'll keep an eye they're gonna keep an eye on I guess the campus and they're still looking for the shooting suspect I told you about this I tease just just a little bit earlier stacks music academy announced yesterday saw this on Twitter yesterday from fox thirteen they will be the closing act on the show Alan so the fox network is news on the network to shows not gonna be on fox but it was on their network of websites you know Ellen does that night of giveaways and stats music Calamy okay I will be on next week thanks candy corsets day getting near its twentieth anniversary but they will be on the Ellen show next week I don't Ellen does she have a show on channel five or something like a game of games or something like that are not of games but yes tax music academy can be taken place are taking part in that good for them congratulations all right said said our guest flip flop then sherry is that the case is that the story okay very good all right well joining us on the program right now is our friend and healthy living expert Judy Gammon Judy thank you for joining me on the show how you doing today I'm great always a pleasure to be on them Judy I'm looking at this headline here and am scratching my head losing weight can be bad there's a recent study that says weight loss can lead to premature death you know this is the holiday season or a lot of people packed on the pounds were about a year away from new year's resolution one of the world are they talking about in the study well on the fine print sure it says that this is brought to you by the state brought you by blue bell ice cream or something being a a we always have to look at the studies and and really day can tell you how did they do this research how they come up with this amazing headline is going to grab everyone's attention and I I really want to say it's the state a little bit flawed now this is what they did right okay so what they did right they put a lot of people on the study they have over thirty six thousand people and they put him on on the study age over forty and I followed him for twelve years they're like oh well this is important information right they happen track how how much they weighed and then they look at basically what they died of but they never asked the why like why did they lose weight so unless you know the why they lost weight or the how they lost weight you don't really see the whole picture Judy Gammon joining us on the show Judy I am I've been under the impression recently that weight loss it it if if done properly and not over done is a great way to stave off diabetes to stave off some forms of cancer which often times may form in belly fat am I missing the boat here no you're absolutely right and we should not take this study and throw all the rest of them out because we know what you just said we know they threw a last and we get rid of some of that fat specially the internal fatter rounder organs that we're gonna be healthier and we don't need the belly fat that just out because of insulin resistance and give this diabetes so you're absolutely right camp and really what we need to be looking at is okay let's go back and find out why these people lost weight or how he did it because if they did this weight loss say they did it through some of the surgeries that you can do for weight loss lap band or things like that there's a really good risk of their for having micronutrient deficiencies so when we get into okay yeah they're real skinny but they're skinny and malnourished yeah course we're going to see a lot of issues or their real skinny but they're skinny because they had cancer yes they're going to die early and if so we have to really pay attention to the why in any study and not just take a couple very able to come up with a great headline Hey I I thought about you over the thanksgiving holiday because we had this we had the spread for thanksgiving and I'm thinking okay well you know what would you say to me if she were if if she were in angel a sitting on my shoulders like okay I have a little bit of a lot of the stuff just just be in moderation and not go crazy over the holiday I it was okay to have a little bit of of of that pecan pie right that's really what it is it's moderation and what we tell our patients have executive medicine taxes is look you're going to be in situations especially if you're traveling allied or use like thanksgiving you're you're gonna eat what's there you're not going to look at the host or your wife is say I'm not easy those you know so it's all about moderation and if you're gonna have a couple of times where you're going to say yeah I'm gonna have to con pie that means don't go back for seconds don't wake up the next day it's a a become quite fill your I think I'll have for breakfast which is what a lot of people do it's really about knowing what you can do and and really paying attention to to those bad habits yes you can have a place the contact but you can't have it again and again and again okay very good Judy always a pleasure to talk to you and thanks for thanks for joining us this morning I hope I hope we catch up with you again before the rest of the holiday season rolls rats always a pleasure absolutely pleasure beyond you can buy all right again this morning news six forty two let's take a look at those roads with heather York the morning right now in Iraq on the more Avenue at Pleasant Hill that some are Avenue at Pleasant Hill no injuries reported at that location we also must all be causing a hazard on north down the mark at homes rose and we have delays out east on north down.

"The Facebook logo. It's very simple. Let's talk to Michael and LA mirada, California. Michael, welcome. Hey, guys. How are you? Good. Good question. Jerry about the Jeep Cherokee, the twenty nineteen went to the car show sat in a few sat on the edge sat in the odyssey are be Jeep Cherokee limited and I drive drive a loss. I'm in my car, sometimes twelve fourteen hours a day. So I'm looking for something comfortable. And going back going back to the limited because of the comfort this. The. I think because I put a lot of miles on my car, at least at this point. I'm trying to get a second car, my wife and Debbie three car payments, which she's not very excited about. A car that I could drive just for work. And then won't matter. How many miles I put on driving to San Diego from L A or know wherever I go. And then having a nicer car when I'm working closer to home. But the question was about the new nineteen got a new engine in it. Turbo. It's supposed to be more horsepower supposed to get better gas mileage, I know you hadn't done a review on one yet. And like to you know, what you think about the very comfortable for me between the two it might have been the Honda or the Jeep. Yeah. I can see that. Because we're all different. We're all built different some seats are different than the others action. I have not driven the new engine in the Cherokee. I've had a lot of good feedback from listeners on it. And that trend is going across the industry right now. I mean, everybody's putting small engines which are Bozon it's working out great so far. It's for the reasons that you said same thing. I mean, it's it's it's fuel economy. And yet when you need the power, you need the power and there for you. I love the look of the limited. I think price wise, it's it's probably one of the pricier midsize SUV's out there. But Chrysler also typically puts a lot of incentives on so I don't know of anything bad to tell you the limit is gonna ride better than say the trail hawk or the altitude just because of the suspension Limoges the luxury version. So if you're I know you drive a lot of miles, but how many a year? We're talking anywhere between twenty to thirty. Maybe a little more. Sometimes I should be in diesel. So that I can put all that miles on the car will last a long time. That's why leaning a little bit towards the Honda because you've always said you get two hundred two hundred fifty thousand mile easily. I it's true. And the I don't know if you look at it or not when you're at the auto show, but the Chevy equinox diesel is really nice issue. And if you want to talk longevity comfort. The the upper line of that is exceptional. I mean, really good. So, you know, and I tried to talk you out of the out of the Cherokee, I think it would be fine. We don't have the history on that engine. Obviously since it's brand new, but I will make the blanket statement that cross was putting out better product today they ever have in their history. So I would be afraid of it. Jeep styling on it. And as I said sitting in it, I could sit in that for hours and hours and and be comfortable sitting in it without getting uncomfortable. Did you traffic? Did you drive it out on the freeway? Freeway. No, okay. I think that's going to be your next step because it's different than most SUV's. It's a Jeep. They're built they they have a purpose. And although this is not like a Wrangler or the Grand Cherokee. It's still going to have a little stiffer suspension system than what you might want to set your body in for twenty five thousand miles a year. And so I think driving it out on the freeway is going to be critical to you if you'll talk to Glenn e Thomas Jeep or Sierra Jeep we can range for you to have a good long test drive, even go by yourself if you want to or what's your family? Without somebody in the car with you. I this is a big decision. If you make a mistake, it's going to be a costly one. So get out and drive. That thing drive it on rough streets drive a railroad tracks park and put it through the paces. And let's make sure that you're doing the right thing. You didn't mention this one besides the equinox. But if you didn't look at distributor cross, you probably should it's going to be similar in ride and handling to this Jeep, but all wheel drive, and I love the safety system on the Subaru give that some thought I'm here.

It's still can I have a little stiffer suspension system than what you might want to set your body in for twenty five thousand miles a year. And so I think driving around the freeway is going to be critical to you if you'll talk to Glenn Thomas Jeep or Sierra Jeep we can range for you to have a good long test drive, even go by yourself. If you want to family without somebody in the car with you. I this is a big decision. If you make a mistake, it's going to be a costly one. So get out drive. That thing drive it on rough streets drive a railroad tracks park and put it through the paces. And let's make sure that you're doing the right thing. You didn't mention this one besides the equinox. But if you didn't look at distributor crosstrek, you probably should it's going to be similar in ride and handling to this Jeep, but all wheel drive, and I love the space safety system on the Subaru some fell,.

So I think I joined the Colorado the first time I ever drove it of I've had a canyon since then I had to Colorado diesel after that I've got the canyon Denali next week. It's the same virtually the same trucks for the you know, the exterior and the some of the trim on the inside. But I I loved it. And depending on how long are you going to keep this truck you might consider the diesel? That's that's not a new diesel engine. That's the same engine. "Yours had more explosions than he had movies. I just pointed out it was my favorite all-time Burt Reynolds, maybe he's call Hooper and everybody I think everybody thought smoking the band. It was my favorite because I went out and bought a car based on the movie, but actually Hoover was the most most enjoyable movie for me Burt Reynolds, ever, did I I like action would they're terrorists more action in that two and a half minute clip that I've seen in some full length action movie. No doubt Kevin in Laguna Hills, California. Thank you for joining us. Kevin. What can I do for you? Jerry, thanks for taking my call. I got a question. One a trailer about seventy five hundred pounds at. I'm looking at the Ford F one fifty three or three point five you boost and comparing comparing that to the Chevy and GMC Rams. They're all good trucks. There's no bad drugs anymore for me telling lies. I'd go with the three point five equal boost in the Ford. It just such a great job. I mean, get three fifty five and you're going to have more towing than you. You're going to need. But at the same time, I always say it's better to have more power than not enough power. And no matter what you take right now, if you follow the pattern of most people, this is a travel trailer. Yes. Okay. If you if you follow the pattern of most people, you're going to go up and size. What's what's your next trailer? Everybody does nobody goes down. Everybody goes up. And you've got you'll have enough truck to carry you all the way to between eleven and twelve thousand pounds with a three point five and it's just so enjoyable to drive given the way it performs the electric power steering. You can take your pinkie finger in Makati u-turn with his truck drives incredible and incentives on two thousand eighteen threaten our fantastic. Now, if you chose the Chevy or the ram I'd applaud that decision. But for what you're using it for for me. I think the Ford is got the best towing system out there. It's got the little dial working back that trailer up with with the Dow that that to me is an amazing feature. I love the mirrors. I love the way that they're blind spot monitoring covers the entire rig. Not just the truck. That's a Ford exclusive you're not gonna find that anywhere else. So for if I weren't towing today. I'd probably go get GMC Alan one now. But if I were towing I'd get an F one fifty. That's you got somebody Orange County for me. I do fact if you go to car pro USA dot com under certified dealers, I have three four dealers there. I don't know which one's closest to you. But you will immediately. I'm sure.
