"The same stations at Sunday night football the bears and rams for preview tonight's matchup puts it out to LA Coliseum in welcoming the two announcers will be calling all the action Tom McCarthy hall of Famer rod Woodson guys all rights got thank you it's warm out here in southern California temperatures were the nineties this must be in the seventies when a kick off gets under way we bring that up because the rams they're used to it but they keep losing wide receivers rod what's we find out a half hour ago that Robert woods is not going to play tonight because of personal reasons they were already without branding cook so that was a big loss for that it's two receivers that they have down for golf going into tonight's game and you can always look at Robert woods he had a package the splice sweeps using quite a bit the deep overs to take up for the brain to cooks shots down the field so not having him there along with Brenda cooks that's a big blow that is often hard so speaking of their offense the big story I think is bad obviously the ineffectiveness of golf is the quarterback but also the fact that girly just doesn't get as many touches as he's got in years past last year he had nine games were you twenty or more touches in those games this year he has zero this is the problem I have even last week they lose the Pittsburgh but he has twelve Kerry's going into the fourth quarter for seventy three yards he's averaging over secure to Kerry any doesn't touch the ball in the fourth quarter nine maybe going to pitch count but this is November yes you have to run this guy you have to let him touch the ball least twenty five times either the third through rush attempts or through the air he have to touch football he's your best electric player on the football field today hard speaking of throwing the ball cop is been somewhat effective this year trip misty's but somewhat effective for the bear suit yeah I have a you know to risky is one of those guys that you're trying to figure out I'm really I I watch this whole office I'm trying to figure out what's their identity are there rushing team are they the black and blue midway monsters of the midway or are they now a finesse offense opponents football team but I look at him last year when they played well this is a running football team and I think you have to get back to that you have to take your pressure off a young quarterback for throwing the ball down the field all the time to get the running game going if they get the running game going then the defense can always be a little bit better than that what they've been so far are not only just twenty seconds to defense but we could see our doll tonight we also get sick Khaleel back tonight these are two pre where pass rushers maybe their defenses art is good but these are to prepare pass rushers well you got to know where they're at throughout the whole game you got a number ninety nine that you got wouldn't know we're fifty two was that and if you don't they're gonna cause havoc in about you all right so it's the rams.

"Don't work for us. The wheels are already what do you mean by emotions? For the actual shoot. You've rented out the LA Coliseum. The Roman here in Rome Italy, no wrong, Georgia. How much is this costing is it in the budget with Peyton on board? Is there even a budget? Yeah. That was pretty unanimous. I thought that was the highlight of the Super Bowl that two minute thing we got another longer clip to play later. I thought that was so well acted in written Rome. Italy, Rome, Georgia. Yes. So I guess that's not on the ad meter thinks it was pre game. It was just like intro to the pre-game. Okay. Okay. Not an ad precisely entertainment official opening, but it was really well dug somebody convinced Peyton Manning to do movies or something. I find him hilarious. He is funny. Coming up. Well, probably oh coming up the best movie title of all time, whether the movie's any good or not. Well, I think it probably is pretty good the man who killed Hitler. And then the big foot. That's the actual. It stars Sam Harris and a big time cast. It is a big budget movie. It is a serious look at aging and duty to country and all sorts of stuff somebody close the in the clothes. That's a bad sentence of an action movie. Somebody has been the garb somebody killed Hitler and Bigfoot. Yes. Same dude. I'm looking up at the TV good Morning, America. And they've got best breakout. Ads the moments that made millions laugh and cry. Which makes me want to vomit. Isn't that funny? God..

"To smothers producing Kim web back in the controls. It is week seventeen in the NFL the final week of the regular season the forty Niners on the road today in Los Angeles to do battle with the Rams Niners or four eleven. The Rams are twelve and three in the play. This thing at the LA Coliseum right there on Figueroa street, one of my favorite venues and historic venue. Of course. Good morning Gaskins see gas where I'm here at the fourth born into as chilly. We get the fire going. Wearing a scarf. All right. So if you wanna see me as a scarf. I'm gonna scarf out there. I'm wearing a scarf. I'm wearing a scarf. There's nothing wrong with the scarf. And I got an umbrella in the backseat of the car. Where is a problem unless it's just really coming down. I don't do. The scarves moody going today. It does look good though. I liked the Long Beach city that you got gonna representing. Yeah. That's my hometown. But it is chilly out here. Yeah. It's a great venue. I mean, it's it's it's been great this. I mean, these guys are fantastic. Grade and the beers grade. And we got our last game here. That's right. That's right. And and join us in the patio will be here all day pre-game the game big-screen TV going got the fire pit going. Day on tap big day for a lot of teams. It is the day before black Monday, by the way, I was just looking at my phone before we get into Niners bears from last week. Did you see the latest show Glaister looks like Glazer tweet Todd Bowles? Greg Williams Marvin Lewis in Cincinnati. Vance Joseph in Denver. Joe philbin. Who's the interim coach Dirk cutter and Steve Wilks in Arizona all are likely out. So we are coming to you on a Sunday. But that's precedes what they call black Monday in the NFL where a lot of people lose their jobs, and it sounds like it's going to be huge huge turnover. Well, you know, what's happening in much Dennis's, chagrin because they're just looking they are looking for the next Kyle or the next Sean McVeigh or the next whatever it is. They're just looking for those offensive guys, especially in Arizona. I just got back from Phoenix. And now Steve Wilks was a defensive coordinator Carolina. He was a really good one. But he just he's got you got Josh Rosen. You've got a bunch of young quarterbacks and same thing. Greg Williams has been great in Cleveland. He couldn't have done any better. But they want somebody to mentor Baker Mayfield. That's what it's all about trying to find that next bright young innovative offensive guy. And and they're not really interested in defensive guys right now. And every year this is what it is. I mean, you know, we call it. Black monday. But every year if you're not producing on the field, you're not winning football games, you know, coaches or a general managers and owners and presidents. They're looking for a winning product. They wanted to put something on the field that's gonna win football game. So every year at this time. There's a lot of turnover to NFL happens every season it really does. And and it's funny. It seems it seems like it's happening more recently. It's because it has I read a article yesterday in Sports Illustrated online, they said that since the last CBA was signed, which I guess gave the owners just huge gobs of cash, and thus the power to fire coach is basically a will there's been Fifty-seven head coaching changes since the last CBA over eight hiring cycles only sixteen haven't hired a new head coach over that span. Pat saints Bengals Steelers Baltimore Seattle. The rest of the twenty six teams in the league are averaging over to head coaches each since twenty eleven so if it's not happening for you and the president people pull the plug Mitch just the way it is. Well, you know, what's weird? And obviously the Niners went through, you know, Harbaugh leaves. And then you go to Tomasulo that was obviously a mistake, you chip Kelly, obviously that was mistake at kiling here, they signed six year contracts, and you're gonna see continuity of this team can ever get healthy. And I think Kyle's the right choice. But I'll tell you man, Wilkes in Arizona. I your guy. Greg Williams is an interim guy the you don't get any time. And it's weird because let's say you have a system Denison. You know, this you gotta get your players in there. Maybe at bigger guys faster guy. Whatever it is you like the type of player you like this is going to be Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch is third year third draft. They still don't have the exact guys that they want and all the spots. So you're a head coach in this league. You don't even have the personnel that you want because you can't even get three. Years anymore. When you think about it Kyle Johnny going on their third year? It's like it's like there the deans or something like that the teams just turn and burn. This is going to be you know, this off season in this draft for Kyle and John. I mean, it's going to be. I mean, this is this could be the season if something doesn't turn around like right away. I mean, I know Jimmy Garoppolo McKenna or hopefully come back next season. But you know, they're they may be on the hot senior year when you think about you you three years in your halfway in your six year deal. Now, I think you know, ownership wants to see some type of change in a different player different product on the field. Niners have cap room. They have a list of free agents will go through it at some point. Robbie gold is basically they're big free agent. They don't wanna lose Robbie cold has been you know, in some ways one of the greatest kickers Niners history since he shown up. Why light Chicago didn't want to come here? He's Dennis was on the team. Who had? No, he was doesn't know the kicker. Peyton Manning said about banner, Jack. Back in the day. Brian that guy. They might franchise if I know that's crazy. But but kickers don't make a ton think of how many kickers don't this year. I mean, I've never seen a year. I can't remember a year in which more kickers missed makeable kicks. Got cut got all these changes. If I'm the Niners. I I don't want to lose Robbie gold. Hold on. I mean, I feel like when he's on the field kick field goal it. It's pretty much a done deal. He's gonna make that field go. He's mean the last couple of weeks. He's kicked what six seven field goals. And you know, that's points. I mean, you have a team that gets Goerner eggs zone. I mean, it's good to get some points out of a long drive. All right here is what is on the line today across the league from what I can tell tell me if I'm wrong any of this. But I believe Houston clinches the AFC south with a win at home today over Jacksonville. That's on the line. You've got. You've got the ravens at home against Cleveland. The ravens clinch the AFC north if they can beat Cleveland Cleveland playing really really well as John said under Greg Williams that's online the chiefs clinched, the number one seed in the AFC and home field advantage in the by. Of course, the number one seed gets the by if they beat the raiders at Arrowhead. I think that's kind of a foregone conclusion. Minnesota clinches a wildcard playoff berth with a win today against Chicago. That's gonna be I think one of the games of the Chicago Minnesota, by the way, that's played later. That's why the Rams game matters. Because normally Minnesota Chicago game, you would think would be a ten AM local start. And by that time, the Rams would know. So if if Chicago had lost Chicago, the Rams already have that that second seat or that second by Artie with New Orleans and the first week in the playoffs they'd be off. But they're going to be playing at the same time. Which is why the Rams will probably play their players. A girly is out today. Right. But remember a year ago in this last game the Niners won the game. Because there was. Jared goff. There was no tiger. Nobody played in this game. So the Rams are gonna play their guys because if Chicago wins in the Rams lose then Chicago gets the buy in the number two seat and the Rams are playing wildcard weakish right in and they don't want to do that. And then of course, tonight Sunday night football. And this one is going to be it's it's funny. How things are so odd and the NFL it's Indianapolis with a healthy. Andrew luck at nine and six in Nashville against Tennessee who are also nine and six playoff game, essentially a playoff game the winner clinches a playoff berth. The loser goes home. And it's came out this morning that Marcus mariota who's experienced numbness on his left side throughout the week. Obviously he's significantly hurt. He's not going to go, and it is going to be Blaine gabbert at the controls. Trying to lead the the titans into the playoffs. Tonight. The the resurgence of Blaine gabbert, I'm sure they're fired up in in in Tennessee. But you know, he he's a guy that was here. And you know, we we we had some hopes that he he could run run the offense didn't work out. And he moved on the here he is again starter in the NFL gets a chance to start again in the national football, better hope Derrick, Henry goes crazy. If this is heresy seriously that that's tonight. All right. Let's take a look back letting the final five minutes of the segment here about last week loss to the bears. This couple ways to look at it. We hit on this and the post game. If you're one of these guys that says, hey, look at the injuries and look at the season in the third string quarterback in the fifth string running back in your within a touchdown of beating the bears, and this and that then you love last week you see fourteen nine against the team that maybe going to the Super Bowl this year. Great job Niners. And then there's the other side, which is. They had a chance to win a chance to win. They lost Brita. And they clearly just abandoned the Ron in the second half twenty passes three runs without breed. It didn't have a lot of confidence and Jeff Wilson who's on the under the gun today. Because he's probably the guy who's going to get the majority of the Carey's gives your takeaway Denison on last week's loss to the bears. I mean you watch that bears game. And you look at a good bears team playoff team. Like, you said a team that has potential go to the playoffs, and you look at on the defensive side some of the way these young guys played and they stood up and you hell a bears offense to fourteen points. And and they played tough. And I think Nick Mullins is gonna kick himself into, but, you know, for a long time when he thinks about that one play when he could you know, extended the game a little bit got that. I and I think he talked about it in his press conference. I mean once he released head ball. He realized oops, maybe I shouldn't have released the ball. Maybe I should just went ran and got that first down. But I mean, it's a loss. But I like the way the young guys played, you know, and they've done it for the last three weeks guys. Like Marcel hairs, and these guys and Elijah lead guys who are who are competing. We're going to have the right to compete next season for starting positions. It's good to see them go out there and play tough and not give up and look at that is that's a good bears team. And you hit it right on the head, Nick Mullins. It was a fourth and four late in the game. And it was her last offensive play. And he tries to flip it down the field to marquees good one. Who's not opening the ball was even thrown inbounds. Anyway. So it wasn't an opportunity to catch it. But I mean, everybody in the whole press box screaming. He just he had it right in front of him and Doug a young quarterback. But it's called Shanahan's said, I think the one thing is for him is he's established himself is an NFL quarterback. Is he a starter is you backup? What is he you know, he's in the league, and that's one of the positive things that came out the other thing that came out. I thought that listening and this was written about this week this offensive line, they found themselves, and if there's a biggest positive that comes out mcglinchey MAC is a hell of a passer as you might be the best in the league mcglinchey held his own at least against him. Did a heck of a job. Joe Staley did his normal job lake and Tomlinson hasn't missed a snap in two years. Mike person has been a huge surprise. I know that western rich Burke is fought some injury. So maybe he hasn't been as good as what they thought, but they have continuity in that offensive line. And I'm not saying they handled the bears offensive line. But they played it about as well as you could. So give give major props that offensive line because that's something that can carry forward to next year. Yeah. I mean, continuity and the line you gotta have it. And you see the effects of it. Now, you don't have to have spectacular players, Mike. Person has been on a few teams. He's been around the block, but in this system, which he knows he's playing at an efficient level and Tomlinson's enormously, strong, rich Burke has been disappointing in the last month since the the injuries have kind of sapped him of his mobility. He seems like he doesn't have the same pop, but they're real strong in the tackle Staley's had a real bounceback year..

"Is the season winds Darren and we take a look at the playoff picture. I can't help. But think about last year Rodney last December corn Wentz went down for the top seeded. Philadelphia. Eagles incomes Nick foles a game. At the Los Angeles Rams where Nick foles leads them to a victory. And we all know what happened the remainder of the year. They win the Super Bowl Nick foles MVP fast forward to this year. Carson Wentz is out. Nick foles comes in in December a game at the Rams and the LA Coliseum. Leads them to victory. Are we talking about another magical run from Nick foles in the Philadelphia Eagles? Well, they don't focus on a run focus on one game at a time. You can call it a cliche, but that I want to Super Bowl rings with that same cliche. Nick foles, the guys believe in him. They absolutely one hundred percent believe in him. He's got. He's got a very humble spirit. He's very confident in what he does. And he knows his limitations Scott. He knows exactly what he can do. And he's not gonna try to to to do too much. You think about Carson Wentz? And and what I really like about Nick foles is. And I said this last week on football night in America. I said it's between the two quarterbacks is, obviously Carson is a great great athlete. He holds the ball too long. He's always looking for that big play. He focuses on one guy and that Zakar he's very comfortable. That's why Zakar has over one hundred catches you look at Nick foles. He spreads the ball around. Because he doesn't have the time because he's not. He's very limited mobile. You know, his his mobile, mobility is very limited. So he's looking around. He's trying to get the ball one guy benefits a lot more than everybody else. And that's all Sean Jeffrey because Nick foles can throw the ball down the field, very accurately. And it's something about that connection that really takes this offense to the next level. When I watched wick when I watched them on tape. It seemed like all Sean Jeffrey had gotten really frustrated because he's felt like that. He wasn't involved in a game. Because Carson Wentz drops back, and he has his eye on one guy. And if that guy doesn't get opened any goes to a second or his third read. Now, I just think that Nick foles guys are happy to play for them because they know they have an opportunity to catch passes from them. Happy to play for them is doesn't just do. It justice. Rodney they built a shrine. Locker room. Chris. I never saw. I heard about it. They put up this shrine in the locker room with a picture of Nick foles picture of of him playing his book, the Nick foles believe it book, which came out last year. They won the bowl candles that were lit in honor of Nick foles building a shrine to a quarterback. How does Carson Wentz feel about this? I mean. No, no, no. I was just about to ask you that. If you're Carson Wentz. How do you feel about that? If you're Scott sign if you're Carson Wentz. How do you feel about that? I feel like I better win this job next offseason or else. I'll be out of a job. I'll be out of a team because they clearly loved Nick foles. And if he leaves them to the playoffs this year, which still things have to break their way. But if he leads them to the playoffs this year, I'm not so sure that Carson Wentz is their quarterback next year. You talking about starting? Yes. I think you know, what I said this. I said this interview that they should when Carson came back. I said, maybe they should keep this as a quarterback competition and people thought I was absolutely crazy because I felt like Nick foles. I mean, you're Super Bowl MVP you just took your team to the mountain top. Like, why aren't you? You know capable of being a starting quarterback another season. And I I'm not a big fan of just handing a guy job because he has potential because he's a first round of because he makes ten twelve fourteen million dollars a year. I'm a guy old school guy. And I love competition. Let two guys battle it out. And let the best player get the job. And I'm with you. I'm like, let's leave it up for grabs. And let's see what happens against the Texas. But yeah. I'm with Nick Nick foles was asked if it feels a little bit like deja vu from last year. No, it's different. It's a different moment. If you start thinking that way, you're gonna get lost in at all totally different scenario. I mean last year, we were you know, one of the top teams in the NFL this year. You know, we're fighting we're fighting to get into you know, in the moment, but we have we have to fight as a different scenarios going to different year different obstacles. So no, it's you know, walking all that out. Or no like I said before I know that's going to be a story. But know, it's different team different year. Rodney you mentioned aisle Jeffrey, this is a team that also acquired golden Tate, and he hasn't had the impact that I think eagles fan start. He was going to have when they brought him over from the tree. Now you put in a healthy quarterback. Nick foles who can throw the ball downfield as you mentioned in all of a sudden this eagles team becomes a lot more dangerous. If you're an opposing defense. Well, you know, what else they do Scott with Nick foles that they really don't do a Carson Wentz because they expect Carson Wentz to do everything. They run the ball more. Yup. I think they run the ball more. Because what gave Nick foles a lot of success last year? It was the RPO's. Right. So now, they're running a ball more which which forces the defense to come up, and even if it's not like super successful. At least a defense has to respect it. Then falls can pull it out and start nickel diamond quick slants the deep out to the shots down field. I just think that the spirit of the team is a lot different. There's a lot of pressure ride. No Carson Wentz. Trust me. Carson Wentz is a young competitive guy. You don't think he's sitting back thinking about Patrick Mahomes in success that he's having disarm Watson? And all these other quarterbacks. You know, when you're when you're a big name, you're comparing yourself to other big names, you compare yourself to other guys that you came in or are very similar in age. So it's an open competition. So that's why I say at times Carson Winston is a very competitive guy, and he tries to do too much. I like Nick foles, I like his attitude. I like what he stands for. I love his consistency in his personality. I think that's huge. As a quarterback. And I think I think if they can get past the Texans, I think they have a legitimate chance. Yeah. Because I think they'll beat the Redskins a week seventeen then it's ninety seven, and it just matters what brakes around them, and I know that sucks to be in a situation where you're looking at what other teams are going to do. But that's the reality of the position that you put yourself in by playing so poorly throughout the course of the season. It's not about how poorly they were when I look at the.

"I hope so. Because the window is getting no or a narrower and the time on his clock is continuing to run and the improvement is not running as fast as the time. As I say you as a kid when I was young and just, you know, athletic or whatever I I saw four guys around. I'm coming in. Yeah. And I'm trying to fly over them. Do all the things and stuff. And I got note. I was like, oh, I'm open right here. Now, maybe I'll just do this. Got a game tonight against the players will be played anybody else to play the seven game series of the blazers in the first month of the season. Monday night football scheduled for Mexico sitting no longer it's gonna be at the LA Coliseum. Here's Adam Schefter explaining why the game got moved. What happened is a combination of factors. You have rain in recent weeks. You had a number of concerts and soccer games events that took place at Estadio stack up. And what happened was the teams had their own people go into examine the stadium a couple of weeks ago, and they weren't overly concerned about the plane condition. But when they went back this week and saw the condition of the playing surface. They were tremendously alarm to the point where. Did not want to have to play a game on that surface and players were drilling thinking of not playing if the NFL went ahead and carried out this game on Monday night. Arguably the look of having to cancel an international game isn't great. But the look of your star players when you're talking about three and the candidates are going to be on the field. Jared Goff Todd Gurley for the Rams Patrick Mahomes for the chiefs, you got three legit and EP candidates. If they're saying I don't wanna play, and I'm not putting my career at risk because you're asking me to go run around on a field that is not NFL quality. That's the ultimate bad. Look. It's a terrible bad. Look if they decided not to play, but it also be bad. Look if they played a game of horrible because they couldn't be themselves. I would much rather. I think all of us would much rather. See these two outstanding offenses play in nice weather with perfect conditions where they can just be great. You don't want. To have to do with the variable of an unstable ground with chunks here and clunk there. Just like, you know, wanna see the patriots played play the coats with made Manny back in the snow. No, you want to see it in good weather. So that these two offices, and he's too great QB's can go at it. This is now an opportunity for hours e two of the top five MVP candidates to go at it top three with Todd Gurley. Yeah. I mean, and then you talk about the offenses and how they're going to score. They're going to score their points. The question for the Rams is going to be are they able to get enough breaks of serve to win this game. Yeah..
