"Extra special guest chris. We are in new york city. And as you know. Jack and jerry did a podcast a few weeks ago and it was one of the most popular podcast of the year. No pressure chris hawkes. Okay so jerry. So then we were like. Oh no we each need to do another because it's been almost two and a half years since we did a podcast together. I feel like we did one early on and pandemic when you guys gonna teach other. Yeah so we're in new york city. We're in this little hotel on twenty nine ninth street and i'm really excited to be here and it's been really fun. So we're in town for fashion week. And the vm as and the met gala. And all. These things. In like. Chris and i've been in our house together and the house is mid renovations so we haven't been anywhere super nice. You know what i mean. So we're here in the hotel. I think it's nice. The house is nice. I don't know. I mean it's beautiful. Yes beautiful beautiful anyway. So we're here. We're missing kelly. But we've been having a lot of fun this week and we've honestly been so social and i hate being social so i'm kind of exhausted but we will hold on. Let's just like the amount of social. I think for most people compared to kelly's level of social is a lot like we've done to couple of dinners added to the now three and a week. Yeah that's a lot for kelsey. Kelly ever leaves the house so three in one week. Right is a lot of big big step. It's a big step so but It's been kind of a weird crazy month this month and so i thought this was actually the perfect time to do like a nice check in you know. It's been hard to be married to me this month chris. Now it's never hard a little hard now. Sometimes though it's never hard. I mean the thing about it is you just have to support it. Ebbs and flows right. Sometimes it's hard for me and you support me and vice versa. Not just how close. Yeah so but. Chris is a really good husband and i will say like one of the things that i have really enjoyed about. You and our relationship is that you've learned how to support me when i'm sad so when we first man like i get i get really high and excited about things and then i get when something doesn't go my way it's like the world you can't tell me that the world is not ending like it. Feels i take everything so personal. Like when a deal doesn't go or something like disappointing like i take it hard and when we first met and when this first started happening chris used to be like it's going to be okay and i snuck get and this last time that i had like a major career disappointment a couple of weeks ago. We're sitting in our bedroom. And i drank a whole bottle wine by myself and chris sat across from me in the other chair anderson. Like i know. I know like he just kept saying i know. Have you learned. Well what i've learned is that you don't want me to help or you want me to fix you. Just want me to listen. And so you're just going to be like life is ending. Yeah it's like okay my mind. That's so counterintuitive to the process. But it's just how you grew even how you deal so there you go. Are you like that with your clients to like. do you just have. I thought you how to deal with them or do you try to fix it for them. No clients don't call me. Want me to say it's okay. They want you to fix it. And they wanted like a solution. They want an answer. They want like if if a manager says okay cool like it just sucks like they were leaving tomorrow like you have to have the answer. I one of my mentors timing that actually a long time ago. It'd be like even if you don't have the answer. You have an answer you know you have something to say and you figure it out and you're going to get it done this cell phone okay. So today we had lunch uptown. And i wore my paula abdul shirt. Is it embarrassing for you to walk around manhattan. While i'm wearing apologize shirt. No because the particular shirt you're wearing it. It's hard to even tell that. It says paula on it. But now i don't mind that clown pants. I like those pants. You got a lot of looks in those pants. Looks people walking by chickened out people. Check you out. So on the podcast. Chris stop listening to the podcast like last year sometime so he's a little behind on the stories. But i was telling a story how we when we are in france together and this like really hot model like. Oh my god you guys. He they looked up. And we're outshooting hotel. Yes she walked by. She looks like french or parisian or something and she like and then she liked turned the corner and like look at your face. And i like you bitch from like so you notice when people check me out but are they checked me out because i look ridiculous. They're checking me out. Because i'm sexy mature. I mean i don't subscribe to the sexually mature thing so you know for me but but no because you're and you have great style. I think people check you out because you're tall and then they realize you're hot. I mean. I hope that's the case. Can't say for sure hit on well. I'm sort of naive to that. I've looked back and been like. Oh wait that was a thing. I'm just sort of. I don't i don't really know when the girl was hitting on me so i can't say for sure if i have or have not a little bit recently. Yeah i mean. I hope not any ring so i don't think so but the and you always wear riding ring. Well this is not a wedding ring. This is the new or a ring which i love but you can talk about it. Okay fair enough. But i got this on my own and i love it. It's amazing it just happened. We both got him at the same time a knowing that we were both working with ordering. It's pretty cool shadow to my friends at ring. Thank you okay. So one of the things that we've been talking about how the podcast a little bit was abou how i know nothing about your dating history. I know nothing like this is what's crazy to me. I don't know. I mean i've been so out there with my past dating history. You know the time line. You have the resume. No everyone's social security numbers. I know nothing about your dating history. Here's what i know and then we'll go through. It was just for the record at one point. We did this conversation. You said you do not want to know. And so we just didn't talk about it. Is that what happened. You ask me what do you mean. I asked you earlier early on in our relationship. I asked you about your girlfriend's f and he said i don't want to know why would ask you if i don't want to know how ten years later things have changed so i wouldn't have asked you if i didn't want to know i asked you and then stopped you and said we know it was sort of like i think i asked you. Do you wanna know. And you said no so. Because i was so insecure. I didn't think i could take but now that we're so i'm so secure in our love each other okay. So here's what i know. When we first moved in together. I found a box of old headshots. A dancer girl so someone clearly was sleeping at your house and leaving their headshots there and she was q. What do you remember. What the i really don't remember. I know about her. Look like a really remember. I think she'd brown hair her name. Sarah i'm not sure then the second thing..
Even Google Thinks Sideloading Apps on Android Is Horrible
"I stop actually. This came as kind of the second batch of revelations the first batch of revelation was that apparently google also doesn't think side loading is the best experience on android so that was the first major revelation to come out of this court case but then also like the most obvious thing that can come out of anything is like of course side loading the best experience. I'm sorry that was just super obvious. A yeah but i think the reason that came out is because they were using that as an argument for why epic should not put you know. It's it's fortnight game in its own little styling apps for situation it should go through the play store because that would be the best situation Well google has other ways to that It likes to compete. It pays device manufacturers to play nice so lg motorola and hmv global which is behind nokia. They're part of what was revealed to be called the premier device program. Now these premier devices there are basically mandated to make google services the defaults for all key functions of quote unquote that comes directly from the document which by the way the pdf is fully hosted on my article on gizmodo dot com. Anybody wants to go read through. I think it's like seventy pages something something long. It's long but basically this mandate me. If you're manufacturer it's part of this mandate you have to have ninety percent of your devices adhering to this premier device program so that means blocking apps with the ability to install. Pk's on the device except for the app stores that are designed for and it and managed by that respective manufacturer so for instance like the samsung galaxy. App stores would not You not go against this clause or lg had one. I kind of forgot that they had their own little app store that they put on their devices

Tv in its twenty two hundred dollars and the cheapest You know. Non ak tv out there. Sixty five inches is about three grand. So that's a big discount He seattle is being very aggressive with the price. And just so. I think it's good context around that. It's like a sixty five inch four k. A very nice sixty five inch four k. tv. How much is that going to cost you about Twenty two twenty three hundred bucks. the best metric is a. Lg's a lead tv's and those are four k. resolution of the affordable ones or four k. resolution and Their series which is their mainstream series. It's like a white t shirt like it's unfair to judge it it's timeless. It just depends on the jacket hall. Jean jackets are fine. Except the ones that have like the belt buckle like they're trying to be a biker leather jacket but it's gene. How do you feel about our home decor no. "Losing show like ours chicks in the office in fact the last time we were in the office. I believe that i we mentioned that. We don't like short guys and almost got tossed out of their office in new york mealy but alas they've got a brand new office with an already broken signed so we're so happy to welcome them back on the show fran and ria from chicks in the office. Sorry about your sign. Sorry about your co workers that we called short. Hey thank you for having us. That was a wonderful intro. Yeah great dry. I was taking notes during those guys and starting to do some people a little bit better but that that's why when we combine meghan show. That's when regained. Yeah xactly thank late adding us on. I think when you guys were in the office. All the were intimidated. So it's okay. I'm pretty sure that the last time for the second last time we're in the office trying to find myself a boyfriend there that's true that's true and we went is we're looking for catholic a yardstick and we were holding it up next to men in the office dr bags that we are. Yes you like me looks you over there. Stand up like it well. I am very interested in this. Because i noticed that you had done a pod trade with scrubbing in and you were kind of saying that you are putting the beef the rumored beef of the you know scrubbing in and checks in the office had aside and i was wondering why we didn't have a beef. What would be if they won the people's choice to hide it in. I think it must be yes while one because we're losers and winners and okay. I think they're fans took us a little too seriously when we joked about potentially being rigged many and that didn't sit well with them and their facebook group. They took offense to that. And i wrote a whole blog after. I think that's where they really had a problem with with it because after they had one. I mean i congratulate them as well. But i was joking around saying it was rigged and that did not go over well but then i reached out to them back and tanya because i had seen so many people were damning us. Like oh my god. I can't believe you would talk like that before. So mad so i reached out to them to be like hegazy. Just wanna lay. You know like. I was joking and they never answered me. Yeah no they said they never saw. But we're sharing. We've mended it all are. We're all one. We were joking. It was just the listeners. Now we know who has the lamest community watch out back. I'm walking right into that one and truly if if just saying if the people's choice awards on e. had been rigged. Yes we would. Have we expecting them to rig it in or though yeah we had lined up for both of you guys. Have you guys one. We also went on your show on e it's rigged okay. We think it is rigged the shock. And they didn't it in our favor like they rigged it in teen wolf's favor but not ours like it's kind of up and we were launching a brand new show like we really could've used the momentum that we didn't get renewed. You know you could award. You didn't money probably there you go. I don't need that anyway. I really that award. But i accidentally just got nominated for another emmy. So this'll be my six my six nomination and then if i win it'll be my third wind like i didn't even work there this year. That's award is an award if your names on the list. The names on the list Okay so i have so many things to talk to you about as my jonas brothers experts i want to know did spacemen flop wire the jonas brothers on tour as a trio again. What's happening with nick solo career. I need you to weigh in okay. I'll tell you right now. Sensitive subject space. And i thought was such a good album coming from you know whatever everyone knows. Nick is always been my favorite. But spaceman i thought it was great. The problem is they're just always going to be better together. The hype is just never going to be there for just one of them naked. The only one who's got an anywhere close like when they broke up when they broke up. Joe put out a solo album. I know that in paris look so everyone is like he's the next dressed in timberlake and they just yeah it did not. It never worked. It never clicked. Nick is the only one who's kind of like been able to get there but it's just tough doing a solo album like so close after them getting back together. It confused a lot of people and everyone was like well wait. We just want what happened to the judgment is apple. We were supposed to get a by twenty twenty that they just delayed and neck. Put out this album instead so it was kind of like it was. It was all very confusing and now they're going back on tour together because they just know that they're better together. They're going to sell way more tickets as a jonas brothers tore them. They are nick. Jonas decided to go on tour by himself. We're not putting on out like so. They announced they're they're together. And then nick jones put out his own solo record. Of course it's gonna flop grabbed. I don't think that the space in general as a coup germont for an album ever works the only time it worked was upset it again but don't even hear what you just said okay. I think it's called space cowboy or something. No the records called spaceman. But it's like when people use space as their own the theme or like he was in the helmet and then he was like standing on the rocks. Looking grungy space is just not hungry. Phases not hot. Like because i can't go there with you. Like i realized that i cannot go to spacemen with you so the fantasy. Yeah baby take your die. There's no oxygen there's fantasy there for me. Yeah but it's it's almost more poetic. It's like you loved each other so much you went to space and you just got your oxygen off but you guys didn't care you were together when it happened then you just floated away to your slow death and then everyone's like wow. They went space together and died up. There it's a good way to go out in. My opinion is couch. Went to a dark place really. I didn't think that dark romantic. Don't let her judge. You know questioned from both of you. What were you doing before the podcast and never got to ask you this before. Oh i love talking about this. I well i will say i. And then i worked as a pharmacy tech every single day because my parents were like you're not going to not go to college and also not work so you need to go to work every day so i did that. A week I was a pharmacy tech. And i loved it like i talk. So fondly of my time is attack. I loved the pharmacy. It wasn't like like cvs or like twain read or something. "So let's start with some practical advice and talk about the super bowl which the sunday think actually haven't been really watching the nfl myself but let's most it's all right but for folks who actually do care and wanna watch the big game on a big tv. What are some of the top televisions you recommend. So you mentioned the biggest sharpest. Tv at the top all start by saying unlike last year the super bowl is not going to be in four this year out so fox went out and went full pulled out all the stops in in two thousand twenty for leicester super bowl and they had a four k truck they did all this great streaming and four k this year Cbs's handling it. They said we asked them. Like why. why aren't you guys doing four k. This year back the answer is with everything. Else is covert related. Apparently you know it's an issue to get everybody together and extra staff and everything to to make the fourcade production work so right off the bat. We're intended ep. Land which is fine. Still expect a four k tv So right right now again with kobe. We've had some weird things happening with the tv a inventory for example my favorite tv of the year. The tesol six series is kind of hard to find right now so my top pick for the money at the sixty five inch and larger size because hey for football you wanna go. Big is a video m series so that thing is about six hundred bucks right now. It's on sale one hundred Less than normal for the sixty five inch size A great television for the money and again at that price. It's it's pretty hard to pass up. There's really nothing that inexpensive the forms. That well i know i've got a video believes in series on your recommendation. I'm more than happy with it. So you're in good hands with cats his advice now if you had a limitless budget and let's just say hypothetically he was broadcasting this in four k or heck even eight k even further sir what was sort of what would be the the the top tier high intelligence to buy right now so that's continues to the lead roger. The oh led tv's from lg. You're my favorite the ten. Looks like when you see it printed out online that. Tv's actually on sale right now a little bit. They saved the lowest price of the year. It's actually hundred dollars more than it was in black friday but still on sale compared to regular price Sixty five inch for a two thousand dollars again. That's the best. Td on the market. If you just want to pull out all the stops that's a great television and then if you wanna go crazy this seventy seven inch size is down to its lowest price yet at thirty three hundred again again. Crazy amount of money for television. You can definitely get an eighty five inch seventy five inch. Lcd for thousands less but it's not going to perform as well as a led technology. It just has great black levels. Superb picture quality no issues with angles. Yada yada yada. It just looks great for football and everything else afterwards. That's spending Ludicrous amount of money on televisions Is a good segue to the other part of our discussion. And that's still look at this new type of television technology called many led. And i know. I had jason heiner on couple of weeks ago and he kind of gave us a kind of a quick run through but For those who weren't listened to that that episode nine on why you weren't but For for those of us who don't know what many led can certainly give us a quick definition what it is where it stands in. The hierarchy of different led televisions so many led. The first thing. I'll do is not to be confused with micro. Led so people. Make the mistake that you know many. Led mike really do the same thing. They're not annoyingly their sound. Pretty similar but micro led is very different. It's the really really crazy when you might have heard of. The samsung tv called the wall. Two hundred inches plus Samsung just announced that the latest version of it which is one hundred ten inches off and they priced it in korea. Two hundred fifty six thousand dollars in case you're interested so that's crazy crazy crazy. Expensive brand new. Tv technology really promising but a few years down the road before anybody can afford it. Many led is kind of an evolution of standard lcd tv technology so it uses smaller led back lights and tcl who i mentioned before makers of my my favorite tv right now. The tcl six series that television uses many led and it's very affordable. So what happened is is that samsung and lg pretty big names in the tv industry announced that they're also going to be selling many led's tv's so in twenty twenty one we're going to start to see an influx of competition for those televisions.
A Telsa Model S Refresh?
"You've been telling me about why. I think there's going to be a model as an ex refresh. Yeah and there was like it was really hard to test drive them. There were like upping the sales out of everything they were. You couldn't see them in showrooms anymore night. This big list of rumors as to why we thought it might happen and then like an hour ago. It just all unveiled so well. So there's a there's a lead up to it the the model s. design is it's like ten plus years old at this point like fundamentally. The design of the car is unchanged since the beginning rate. So there's one small outside refresh her where the front grill nose cone. that was an exterior. Like look change. Is that what you call a nosecone nosecone. Yeah i've always just called at the grill. But obviously it's not. It isn't enact plastic nosecone two more metal okay but The autopilot versions changed. But really fundamentally the inside has always been that vertical screen and it's always been the same doors. Same door handles same shape so they've never really changed the model s. in car years. That's a long time let alone tech years that's forever. Yeah so. The rumors have been building for a long time. And we kind of were like. I think that this earnings call on wednesday were according to one night. Just say you know yeah have plans to possibly make video about all this. But we're recording on wednesday night and during the earnings call. They update the site. They give the over all the stuff and dropped a new model lesson ex and yet it's something is there's a lot to it. I guess we'll just. I'm just going to go down the list. This obviously isn't a video podcast yet. But i do have a lot to say about the aesthetics and the things that they've changed right. Yeah maybe i'll use this template as like a guide for the video. What i make it. We'll see i almost debated telling you throw camera up here and just take the clips out and turn it into the youtube video also. Yeah so right off. The bat outside changes are pretty small. They turned all the chrome black kind of like they did with model three and model. I every single car company do that. Please stop with the chrome. I think toyota has been doing it. A bunch with just maybe not even like their door handles and window trim but they've been doing it with their emblems and like the wording and names on the back and they looked so good on every single caller romo terrible. Please stop. Yeah feel old. Basically starting to feel a little bit outdated so it's gone from the car. I think maybe just the logo the last chrome piece. but that's that's pretty sweet and then There's a little bit of a different shape up front a little bit of a more simple grill at the bottom. For the front splitter and different fog i think i read people were saying it looks like the air like in vents are a little bigger probably to help battery cooling yup the better battery performance and i think that leads us beautifully into the new specs before i talk about the interior. So it's just going to be three models model s. and i'm going to focus on model s even a model x. Got this refresh it. Basically doesn't exist tesla like they still make it kind of because they have to nightmare. Yeah there's not a lot of attention around the x this is about the s. I'm just talking about this. Yeah i'm just trying to think of. Who's the i feel like the x. Still gets a lot like in the blogger community. A couple david dobric jake paul logo on it. There's jailers very her. Jalen smith jr jada jason. What's his son's name. Now you've got me thinking. Smith i don jaden has one. There's some there's small market for the ex. Yeah but the model s. is where it's at so there's really just three versions now. And by the way. I'm gonna say overarching for this. Whole thing is simplicity. Dustless manufacturing simplifying line vehicles. So there's three there's a long range model s a plaid model s and a plaid plus model s. so model s long range has four hundred twelve mile range zero to sixteen three point one seconds dual motors and it's. It's a pretty standard. Look that's like what probably most people getting a model less would get then. The performance version is your plaid model s. which goes directly to triple motors. It drops a little bit range three hundred ninety miles but it goes two hundred mile an hour. Top speed and zero to sixty in one point nine nine seconds. I'm gonna say that one more time just in case you didn't hear it this. Several thousand pound four door family car. Hatchback does zero to sixty in one point. Nine nine seconds like you need to like take a an advanced driver's test in order to get something that can go under two seconds to pilot this thing. Yeah yeah every time. I think about like performance cars on the street. I'm like i icy regular people driving cars poorly all the time and i just get a little bit worried about giving them that much power. There's a whole youtube rabbit hole of great like mustang arm beats of people just like wrecking it into the median pulling out yet i mean i guess the good thing is this is all wheel. Drive is the safest car on the world. This is a car that's tries really hard not to crash itself but yeah lot power here but just so you know that's starting at one hundred twelve thousand nine ninety which has ten thousand more than the previous model and then plaid plus is eleven hundred horsepower versus that one thousand twenty of plaid zero to sixty. There are a little more vague with this under one point nine nine seconds. So it'll be faster. We don't know how much faster it's still trip promoters. And it'll do the quarter mile in less than nine seconds which would make it. The quickest zero to sixty and the quickest quarter-mile acceleration in any production car. Ever and again. this is not yet the roadster. This is just a speck. Yeah but the most interesting spec to me of plaid plus is it still triple motor. There's new battery info but it goes five hundred twenty plus miles on a charge. So what was the long range again. Four sixty long-range was four. Twelve for twelve plaid was down to three ninety and then plaid plus was five twenty so this leads me to believe that. Plaid plus is a different battery technology. Do you think it's the one. Because that's sounds around the specs of the roadster was supposed to have right exactly roadsters. Got us six twenty plus quoted mile range and on top of that. This is the one other thing that's really interesting. I'll just touch on the x for a second. I don't think this is happening the x. Because if you go to the model x. site you can see you have the long range version which has a three hundred sixty mile range and the plaid version which has a three hundred forty mile range. So there's no plaid. Plus so whatever's happening with plaid. Plus is i guess this ultra high end security premium powertrain and battery system that only the high end model s. And i guess eventually roadster star gonna get it. Sounds like it's just a roadster with a model spotty it's a four door roadster four door to door. Yeah no it's it's a it's a crazy it's crazy car i. I'm prefacing all this with like. I don't need it. I'm not gonna get it. I'm gonna wait till the roadster but also this is absolutely insane. What they've done now really. The the most important part is the inside of the car that they've updated so like i said simplicity's sake finally switched to the horizontal touchscreen inside which i think looks pretty good. It's like a little more well integrated with the car doesn't stick out as much as three. Yeah i think what i like. I like that. But i liked that. They kept the screen in front of you. Like a regular odometer like they have in the model s. already because like three and y. I'm fine with that screen. There i only thing is. It's a little weird that you have to look over seer odometer but the fact that you have a better spot there and you still have your regular like driving odometer with a high acid and speaking of that steering wheel hobo this is this is the interesting went and i think this is where a lot of people are polarized because this interior looks very similar minus steering wheel if you look on their site. It's a yoke style steering wheel and it's almost kinda squared off. So it's like the bottom half of a square steering wheel and then there's a bunch of buttons on the steering wheel itself and there are no blinker stocks. No windshield wiper stocks. Nothing behind the wheel. No paddles no nothing yeah. Let's paint a picture here though. Because i've never heard the term yoke style and i only understand it because i saw the picture right before so picture fighter jet handles like that. Yoke style top trying to top office doing rectangle and doesn't have a top part. So yeah i'm just like i was just trying to think about using it. In general it seems so cool for like straight line in like minor turns on a highway but exactly turning around in a parking lot or like a tight driveway or something seems miserable on it. Yeah i this is one of those things where i'm imagining it and i'm imagining it really poorly and i think i'm just going to have to try it because as of right now i don't even think this is legal to ship yet. I think you technically have to have enclosed steering wheel and then people earliest you have to ship it with one and the people can modify it later. I think that's technically the rule here in the us. I don't know the rules internationally. But i've never seen a car actually ship with a yoke steering wheel before so again. This is all tb will see it happens. But i think i'm going to have to give it a shot because it's really weird.

Avon Rebrands Amid a Surge in Reps
"Month brought big changes to a beloved brand avon. I made a name for itself by offering housewives away to earn independent income by selling skin-care perfume and cosmetics from home but the iconic american company is no longer an independent corporation or based in america the household name cosmetics company is now to companies owned by two different international corporations south korean consumer products giant elgin household and health healthcare which bought avon's north american business and brazil's largest cosmetic company nature cosmetic os which bought the majority of the company in a deal that closed this month. Lg is also a significant investor in the net. Sure deal. it's another end of an era story which has been a familiar. Refrain of late for nearly a century and a half. Avon's presence has been a constant in the beauty sector. Now you'll say lights from the beginning. Avon was a trendsetter decades. Before american women had the right to vote avon founder. The perfume was so popular that he soon created his own product line in the late eighteen hundreds. He recruited women. He met during his book selling days. As the first quote avon ladies in the century that followed the company became a direct selling amazon with more than six million home-based representatives at its peak. But the beauty behemoth suffered an ugly fall in more recent years value plummeted from its peak of twenty billion dollars. The company struggled to keep pace with changing consumer tastes one forbes. Report blames the company's decline on a failure to adapt to the changing role of women in the workplace. An ill conceived plan to crack the retail sector in stores like sears in jc penney after well known ceo andrea junks. Ouster in twenty eleven one citigroup analysts said quote. You guys are so totally screwed up in. So many ways that change has to be radical a report in fortune recount. The company also failed to anticipate new competition. Both from companies like amazon and from upstarts like rodin and fields. That's the skin care. Brand behind the wildly popular. Acne treatment proactiv rodin and fields was purchased by estee lauder three years later and converted into a direct selling company. The brand now grosses more than a billion dollars a year. Largely because tech savvy. Soccer moms sell the lotions and serums to their pows by a social media but avon may win the beauty competition and the end. Direct sailings appeal has faded in the us. But it's still a popular concept in many other countries and the new international focus means avon can better capitalize on hot markets like the uk where pandemic job losses led to a one hundred percent surge in new rep sign ups last year and of course avon will still be doing business in its country of origin. So if you need glimmer sticks or skin so soft well fear not. They're still just a socially distanced. Quarter away

about the archive club that's the way to do it if you want to hear more the show during the week that's the way to do it follow us on Twitter at Jesus show at Jesus show Karen welcome to the Jesus Christ show hi good morning I was wondering about moralistic marriage where a man could have more than one wife in the Old Testament and my husband I or just driving along and discussing that so I was wondering if you could give me some insight about when that became permissible in the Old Testament and then when it stops being permissible okay it's it's not permissible it's never permissible right what was your husband a is he trying to negotiate with your this is just the logical okay we're driving along and we got the Bible which is you get we talk about that okay that's one I've seen he can get out okay I was wondering you know somehow he's going so honey what would you think you're we got a little you know extra help around the house yeah probably not not a good idea but since you both are just looking at academically understand this of that not everything in the the Bible is prescribing what you what you should do right sometimes it just talks about what's being done and that happens throughout the entirety of scripture now there's ways that you can you can conclude based on what's being said in scripture that polygamy is not for the godly person in the New Testament first Timothy three two and twelve Titus one six it talks about the standard and qualifications for spiritual leadership and that person is to be a husband of one wife it sets right so okay and it also goes on to talk about different things that dealing with leadership dealing a be like being above reproach bring being temperate self control respectable hospitable so if these things are for every believer then there's no reason to believe and not just for leadership there's no reason to believe that the other qualifications here in this case dealing with the husband of one wife that that is not for every Christian either plus you can look back to Adam and eve and the creation that god was looking to build a a couple that would work together and that could be partners and the word in scripture is help meet and that if god wanted Adam to have helped me a proper help me and in this case it was woman and it was one one so when you combine all those things you look you can even find in Deuteronomy Deuteronomy seventeen fourteen through twenty if you read through that you'll see that it's talking about having that it's not good to have more multiple lives in these types of things so anything that's prescriptive that's prescribing what you should do or not do in scripture in scripture says now not good but the other stuff is just describing what's taking place that there are people that were doing that but it describes all kinds of sins in scripture correct correct and one when the the action of taking more than one wife influenced by the cultures around them sure many times that's why you're not seeing a direct consequence so you're not seeing a a consequence necessarily to it so you think well gosh you know maybe god is okay at a given a thumbs up no there's a difference because god god allows all kinds of things and the father is very allowing because humans need to make their decisions so if god was costly coming down and stopping you from making a decision then no one would have free well and in that in the case of the people in scripture that you know people say well what about you know you might be kings what about Solomon what about these things the will of god says they're great then how come they're doing things that aren't great yeah but that's the entirety of scripture Moses was a murderer you remember Moses and murdered the Egyptian and he looks lefty look right and forgot to look up you know and so there's there's many times were you will find people who miss the mark EA in scripture that are still referred to his great men and women it's because they N. overall looking at them in comparison to other humans and to the will of and want of god that they're they're standing up to a certain standard but they all are sinners and they all make mistakes and some of them grievous mistakes so there if you look through scripture the in in that the men of renown in those those that people often quote is being wonderful and great and everything tape they'll have problems in that that that goes for for even great kings with that you know the the heart and mind of god there are those that make many mistakes but polygamy is never in scripture condoned it's allowed just as any other sin is allowed but not condoned very good so I hope that helps your drive this morning it does it does thank you very much you're very welcome there's nothing more beautiful to me then when a couple takes the time to spend in and discuss these things I just I I think it's fabulous it builds up a wonderful relationship between two people to engage in ideas and thoughts and and wondering and so I I commend you and your husband for Karen for for spending time in the car that most people could just be quiet or you know to be upset about how long it's taking to drive wherever these types of things been using it for something so productive and wonderful I think that's the way that's pretty cool the Jesus Christ show will return in a moment to be a part of the show call eight seven seven holy host taking a look at it crashes.

"Newly Patel had some some points about I've already forgotten some points about this particular thing as well. So he talked to apple and he said apple tells me, no, smart TV content. Tracking is allowed on airplay to streams on video and LG TV's. In addition to preventing Samsung from tracking the I tunes app. So this is apple saying like, they're dictating some amount of terms to their television partners integrates technologies, and if you read this an aren't keeping up with what television the television world is like you're like, what did you mean? No, smart, TV content. Tracking. Like are. They tracking. What I watched the answer is. Yes, that's smart teams do that is very very important business. And it was a big article on the verge about this for years and years. There was a bunch of stories about video having privacy violations and all sorts of other things where even if you out it's still recorded stuff, and you know, recording things on cameras and microphones. But forgetting all that just the basics of these televisions know what they're displaying. Screen because they are the television, right? And they do content identification in that. And they track that information, and they report it because it's valuable information to know, what people are watching television. And these people make television sell that information. So apple apparently said you are not allowed to do. Content tracking for things that are streamed over airplay or things that are, you know, into the I tunes app. Basically just trying to fence it off and saying look like you can't you can't do this. Like, I know you have this analogy to do it. And now you can tell it's being displayed in your dream extreme. But no go, I don't hobbles verifying that presumably it's in their contracts, those sorts of penalties if they mess up, right? But as nearly points out in his next week, the wacky part is that apple can prevent TV of makers from tracking content over H my input. So a smart TV can track. What you watch on your apple TV? So if you buy an apple TV, they can totally track what you're doing because it just connects over HDMI, and there's no sort of relationship or contract between apple and the television because when you buy apple TV, they have no idea. What TV you're going to get up to or whatever. So the world of television. Is scary and filled with ads and tracking. What else has? No. But it's good that apple is trying to do what it can to not let television strike you quite as much. No. I think the question what else is new like does. This actually is fairly new like the concept in fact, going back to night Patel's stuff put out recently. He there was some article or podcast. I forget where but somewhere he had an interview with TV executive who. I think anonymously told him like that like post sale monetization is a really big deal in TV's now because like they're selling them basically at cost because it's such a cutthroat commodity business that like there's very little profit margin in the actual TV's anymore. And so they're selling them basically close to cause that they possibly can. And then making it up by making money from you after the sale now, of course, you ask how did it make money from you after the sale if you aren't if you have no I I bought an LG TV last year. I have no way to give LG more money for the TV or do. I turns out. It's like that. Yeah. You can monetize it through analytics and selling data an ads and everything. So this is yet more reasons why like I don't trust any of these TV makers to be ethical or technically competent at all. So like when I got an I got, you know, a well rated LG, the c seven whatever TV it's great. I love the TV. It has no evidence the internet because when I set it up, I plugged in an Ethernet cable did not give it my wife info..
