The Idaho Murder Mystery

"I wanted to talk about this murder. In Idaho, 'cause I was at the cigar lounge last night, and there were some people asking me about it. And there's a lot of confusion going on with this murder, right? There's four young people that were murdered and it appears that they have nothing. They have no evidence, they have no weapon recovered, they don't have a suspect in mind. A lot of people are completely perplexed. And in a way, I'm kind of perplexed. But let me just give you a few reasons. Why this could be taking a long time or the perception of it taking a long time because if you're not in law enforcement and you don't do investigations or you don't have direct knowledge of it, it could be very confusing for you. So there are four things that could be at work here. One thing is that this is a very small town, right? I mean, you're not talking about a major city. And with small towns, there's a very limited amount of resources. And obviously we see that they have the FBI coming in and assisting in this investigation because they just don't have enough. You know, how much technology do you think they have in this little small town? How is the closest crime lab? You know, what kind of forensic training have they done? How many murders have happened in the town where they have enough experience to do a proper investigation into a murder, especially a quadruple murder?

Vaccinated People Now Make up a Majority of COVID Deaths

"So yeah there's a lot we gotta ask Fauci about particularly as a new report came out today and said the majority of people who've died of COVID have been vaccinated which of course is shocking As they also buried another report that vitamin D levels may have a direct correlation with your ability to survive the virus But again Fauci worked directly with the tech companies to silence quote unquote disinformation If you remember anybody who went out of line and said anything even about the lab origins of COVID was probably shut down and silenced There's a lot to answer for My theory of course is that we can now trace the gain of function research funding from Fauci's office and Collins office He's another one that should be hauled in Directly to the Wuhan lab we know that they were experimenting with these viruses These guys admitted in these emails they were working on this fury in cleavage They were working on these weird Frankenstein mice and the cells in the lungs and everything like that They created this thing and they knew that they did and they tried to lie and cover it up by finding a way they could justify this came from nature And because the media in this country the corporate media loved Fauci and don't forget Brad Pitt played the guy in Saturday Night Live He was a hero to people The nation's leading infectious disease doctor you actually have to say that by law whatever you say his name Did you know that Well they love him so much so anything he said they just went with gospel so when he said no no no this was this came from a bat

The Silver Lining in This Helluva Bear Market

"I'm sorry to anybody who lost funds. It has been a hell of a bear market. A hell of a bear market. And I feel like everybody that's watching everybody that's hosting, just everybody in crypto in general did not see this coming. But I guess looking for the silver lining here, binance starts recovery fund for crypto projects facing liquidity crisis. CZ says this is for strong projects who are facing liquidity issues. He told anyone who thinks they qualify to contact binance labs, he welcome other industry players with cash who want to co invest. Justin sun said that Tron, who will be global employing X will support the initiative and more details coming soon, the tweet is up if you guys want to go ahead and read that. But CZ is talking about to reduce future cascading events because let's face it this is part of the crypto contagion and FTX collapsing doesn't just impact cut well. I guess it impacts these people or customers. There's a lot of people that had funds there doing business, et cetera. So I guess that this is the silver lining of this absolute tragedy.

Researchers Have Created a Covid-Type Virus With 80% Lethality

"More lethal strain of COVID created in Boston University lab, researchers at Boston University have developed a new COVID strain with an 80% kill rate. And now let's think about this for a minute. First of all, an 80% kill rate, what? We're talking about 8 out of ten that get the virus die of it. Think of what this would do to the world that this kind of a virus were released. Now, I mean, think about how COVID got out. It now seems likely scientists continue to investigate or debate and not with sufficient intensity, by the way. Debbie and I often talk about this W is like, what's happening with the investigation of where this virus really came from? How did it get out? What were the motives behind it? Or was this just negligence? Did it in fact come for the lab from a lab? It looks likely that it did. It came out of the Wuhan lab, not out of a wet market. That theory, which was once treated as dogma, is now at least has a competing theory. And so here's the point, what are we doing with this gain of function research where we're taking viruses playing with them? Apparently what the Boston University researchers did is they took the omicron variant, and they took the original virus. The original Wuhan virus, if you will, and they mixed them together and they created in a sense a more lethal variant, which kills now it turns out kills 80%, not in humans because they are not doing human trials, but in mice. So yes, it's not humans. It's mice, but let's think about it when you give the omicron variant a mice. They have a very mild case of COVID, which means that that the reaction in mice is mirroring the reaction in humans.

"Lauren boebert. Welcome back to America first. And doctor gorka is so great to be with you. I need to have verification. I trust Matt Boyle, breitbart is the most influential conservative news site out there. But this story of the Democrat running against you, I'm just going to say it out loud, having sex in a storage facility on camera and then getting blackmailed by the owner of the storage facility. Is any of this true? Can I just ask you, this is your district? Yes, so actually there was a whistleblower who contacted my campaign. And so I sent my campaign to have a conversation with this man. He was a longtime business owner in Aspen. And I wanted this further vetted. So we gave this to the mainstream media. And breitbart decided to investigate this, have their legal look at it. And we have video evidence. We have emails, correspondence between my opponent, Aspen, Adam frisch, and with this gentleman's Todd Gardner, where there was blackmail taking place to get Adam fresh to change his vote as a city councilman. The owner of the storage unit caught Adam fresh having an affair, his general manager saw it Adam in the act and then used that later as blackmail to get him to change his position on a vote that would have affected his cab business. So there are third party cooperations that took place. There's video evidence. There's emails and of course we have Adam frisch switching his vote to kill a mobility lab in Aspen that would have contracted with Lyft and put this pad business under. So let me just say this. If he can be shaken down by an Aspen cabbie, imagine what Nancy Pelosi and the D.C. lobbyists would do if they ever had him in D.C..

And we've been, we've been working on it for over 9 months, and we had a big part of it is kind of our time with sheriff Mark lamb. Who's just awesome? And it's an education project brought to you by turning point USA to educate you about what's actually happening on the American southern border. And you guys can check it out at Salem now dot com. Let's watch the trailer 61. Americans across our country have to know that the overdose death crisis that they are facing in the northern parts of this country is directly linked to cartel jalisco new generation in the Sinaloa Cartel and their labs. They need to know that the failure of the United States government to adjust to these cartels is what has driven the worst overdose death crisis in American history. And this will get worse before it gets better, but that this issue is absolutely fixable. Salem now dot com, the documentary is amazing. It's beautiful. It is aesthetically, really entertaining. It's informative. It's educational and you're gonna walk away from it with a lot of information. And hopefully some clarity on the subject of the border promo code Kirk for 20% off at Salem now dot com. Joining us now is one of the stars of the film, sheriff, Mark lamb. Mark welcome to the documentary that the thank you that you see in the documentary that the cartel is pure evil, tell us more about that. Absolutely, Charlie, and thank you for doing this project, by the way. I think that more Americans, this is the only way we're going to really let Americans know what's going on out there. But the cartels are pure evil because they have zero regard for human life. Whether it's abusing people that these open board border policies are bringing to the doorsteps of the cartels, whether they're enslaving those people or killing American citizens with fentanyl or ruining a car economy, whatever it is, the cartel could care less

"So i think that you know his ability to start conversations with people is that'll be felt maybe but at the same time someone like mike herron knows everybody has been around the block as well so i just. My question is more like And same with austin age but my question is just like what is brad bringing to the table like a it. Sounds like harsh to say. That i just don't know what specifically his role is in that front office. If that makes any sense so you know. I say that after praising this off season they had so. I don't think it's a bad thing. it's just. It's a question that i i just don't understand or know exactly in totality what he's doing in the front office thought on that before i get into that idea on just quickly address the coca higher which i loved and was actively pushing or from the time that he became available as a head coach i thought he was by far the best head. Coach candidate on the market including rick carlisle. Yes i had said. And i really really liked that higher for all the reasons that you just laid out his relationships with the players the fact that he you know has experienced in a variety of incredibly successful basketball environments in part of that fact that he's married to the along hurt and he's also the handsome head coach in the nba as right now. So that's that's a big thing for me as well but moving onto other front office changes you know. It's interesting because i do think that gainey age hat was kind of legendary for his relationships with other front office executives and pretty clearly had that aspect of the job going for him. I will say that. I don't necessarily know. If danny age had great relationships with the players particularly on the celtics Going over these past three years. I don't think that they were bad. I haven't seen any reporting to suggest outright bad. But i don't think that they were necessarily great either and i think the reality is back in the nba. It is a players league out players above all else. Get to decide where they play if they want to go to. La they want to go to new york whatever. They will find a way to get therapy. Brooklyn nets free agent. Orgy of last year proved that So i think that that is something that needs to be considered. When we're talking about front office hires and to that effect. I think when you talk about what does brad stevens bring to the table as a front office guy and particularly what does he bring that maybe danny ainge didn't quite have a sense of the end of his tenure. Is that jason tatum. Jalen brown marcus. Smart those are all brad. Stevens guys stay. Came up with brad stevens. He has fairy relationships with all those guys. Tatum recently gave a press conference where he was asked about all the front office of. And he said i. I'm paraphrasing here. But he said he is pumped. That brad is still in the organization. Amac he trusts whatever that decision whatever decisions that guy's making when you think about where the celtics are headed can few years regardless of what happens being number one priority for the boston. "Clearly a on his way to the hall of fame. And i don't know you look at the contract. He got versus. Someone like the contracts jared allen got. You're like okay This is this is pretty potentially We're getting value on this contract. So i like the extensions. I think all of them are also Tradeable i think that that sexy word that a lot of celtics fans are are using right now in pursuit of that third star. And it's really ironic that the celtics are a team that for years Did not have contracts like this to make trades that you could package a two or three middle-sized contracts and a bunch of picks and maybe you have one or two. Young talents also rookie scale deals. You can throw in and present that to a team for star caliber player. I think the celtics do that now. Particularly of robert williams shows out because he's his ceiling is just ridiculous. So yeah i love all the extensions low-wage shirt saying it. Yeah i'm right there with you. So i think i'm gonna for purposes of category because we didn't really talk out enough lump together. The extensions with also celtics free-agent signings which we share spend some time talking about as well but The extension for marcus. Smart starting off with that. I think is again really good value and i think it has to be set. You know marcus. Smart has not been plaguing his natural position that cute was drafted out of college with the expectation of play racket. Smart was drafted. Because at oklahoma state he played point guard now. He's finally getting the chance to be the starting point guard for a team. And i think that that's actually a really good thing for his development both as a player and for the development of the team. Generally marcus had some excellent playmaking display last year. When he was healthy he missed a hefty chunk of the season with a string calf and when he came back he definitely didn't have the same burst but at the beginning of the year he was assuming a pretty heavy playmaking Particular is chemistry with jalen brown. I think really shy. So i'm really excited for marcus. Smart as the starting point guards going forward. I think anytime you can get an above average starting point guard at the number of Scott arkansas that you have to consider that win on the robert williams extension on the that is a steel of a contract. If rob plays more than i think sixty five games this year both rob. The big issue was his hip. That has been kind of troublesome throughout his career last year though he missed games in the playoffs because turf toe turf toe is incredibly painful injury..

"Yeah that's unfortunately pretty true. Also drew mike. What you said is there are a lot of bad teams in the sign really bad contract so apple both nothing else Segue i the celtics. Spokes are really cleaned right now. And there are a lot of teams that first of all couldn't pull off with the celtics front office has been pulling off with a few weeks but also a lot of teams have really tough situations. So i think what's so great. I like the richardson flyer. I like the shorter flyer Borneo walk but also liked that. It's really setting up. Let's see what the jays are actually about what they can do without gobert without broken wrists. And if it's something we like a lot we have all of the puzzle. Visas ready to maneuver that into that. End some of those puzzle. Pieces include marcus. Mark extension robert williams extension and head many josh. Richardson extenso mike on that front already. You had a grade or are you giving just extensions. Yeah i mean i. I like all these players And the money seems pretty fair to me Start with robert. I mean i'll start just speaking broadly. The i think the fundamental reason why you give these extensions as you look at the market for this upcoming off season and you know there aren't attended teams that necessarily have Cap space but that can always be created. And if a marcus smart has a really good year. If robert williams has a really good year i know he would be Restricted but if josh ferguson has an exceptional year those guys would be demand and you would essentially lose them for nothing in your pursuit of Brad beal likelihood free agency. And you've got your roster and if brad beal if he were to signed an extension with the the wizards or just you know decide. He doesn't wanna play in boston than you would be a lot of trouble. So yeah i like the the thought process. There is a team that clearly likes these guys. That really vow you marcus smart i. He's one of my favorite Airs on the one of my favorite of all time. And i think he's someone who did not have the best shooting season last year. But i personally think that Has kind of rebounded in as someone who maybe he takes too many Difficult ones off balance pull ups win earlier in the shot clock than they shot like that. Would that would grant but I he's a pretty solid shooter. Is someone around the league. Cj mccollum just to this interview where he prays that contract and Spoke of how Marcus smart as a shooter. Now in this in this league So i like that deal. And i think he's. He's very hard to put a price on because of all the things he does. That are Imperceptible and Really difficult to just kind of peg down monetarily. But he's he's awesome. I really love him. i i was actually a little surprised by the robert williams news. That news broke. And then you see how much the money as four and you know if this dude is healthy I believe only. This is a really random stat that i could get wrong but i think i came across it at some point when i was just kind of really bored one day a few weeks ago but in the first three seasons of his career among players who've played at least one hundred games i believe robert williams wind shares per forty. On that the way to second round picks i believe osceola is gone waters has gone probably taco fall is on his way out since celtics will not be paying their contracts and they guarantee one hundred thousand dollars of purpose contract but not waving last week so the big thing really is the corner. Evan turner enfor not getting shredded around the cheap getting jefferson in a previous de- including some smaller ones. Along the way. I need mike. You talk about those if you think those are interesting but yeah looking at the salary stuff mike great or assessment of i mean with these particular moves that you mentioned. I know that a lot of people like to poke fun at the creation of large trade exceptions. But they're incredibly useful if you have a really high salary as a team so i don't personally Fall into that category of of making jokes about trade. Except i think they're really. They're helpful and in particular like i don't foresee the celtics necessarily using this straight exception. Maybe they do during this season. Maybe they exceed all expectations on the court and it just it makes so much sense to continue to get better and some former fashion with constellation consolidation. Radii said that word correctly. But i think it's really valuable to have in the off season next year and There's a lot more flexibility with things you can do if you have it so i do like that and in conjunction with leading evan forty-eight walk i think one of the things that Poorly run organizations do is they double down on their mistakes and not necessarily calling the decision to trade for evan forty eight last year's trade deadline mistake i see the logic there and they did not know that jaylen brown would miss the rest of the season and not be available in the playoffs and there was some reason to believe that the ship could turn around based on the pedigree of everybody involved in if they could just get healthy. It would turn around for them. So i understood the thinking in trying to get more shooting and was lights out last year as a shooter But you don't want to resign him I think a port poorly run team would have resigned. Devon forty eight to the deal that either he got from the knicks or even one..

"And i mean to me that seems very fair like affair in a vacuum transaction But you know if you're philly and you want to win the championship and you have joel embiid whose career could end any second and fan maximize that window like i understand why maybe you don't do that but i don't know it's very tricky. It's a very tricky situation to answer your question. I mean i would think that he's going to be on the sixers in training camp based on how everything has gone so far and their unwillingness to to take the offers phillies unwillingness to take the offers that have been presented. And just hold out and hope that you know the blazers flame out in the first blazers ever really tough schedule through. I like to three weeks of the season. i believe. So you just hope that they really struggle and dame tweet something Scandalous and you can kind of go from there. But that's my guests. That's i don't know if that's the smartest way to run a team but that's seems to be like what they're hoping for. I would so couple things that are coming to mind Discussion i is that darryl maury has an established pattern of asking for the moon when it comes to traits on particular star player trades so while it definitely the case that now probably would have been the easiest time to deal. Ben simmons in the offseason. I don't find it particularly surprising that a lot of teams that These sixers dangled ben simmons in front of Maybe didn't want maurice Expected offer do wanna go through with more expected. Offer michael. I do think that there's something going on with the minnesota timberwolves. I don't necessarily have too much to back that up other than Reporting from the athletic among other things. But i do think that there is something there i think at a minimum of the timber. Wolves are interested in making something happen whether maury will accept a package built around ngelo russell on a bunch of takes as the primary motivators. I'm a little more skeptical of. But i think it's close enough that you can probably get a third team involved in a meaningful sense and maybe get something there. So if i had to bet one destination that is in philly For ben simmons. I would probably lean minnesota right now. They need a third team to make it work. I think but you know if james harden trae dot is anything that there is always another team who can get involved in these kinds of discussions. Yeah that's enough on. Ben simmons but i will say that i think both cleveland and orlando ought to Push the chips because what else are they doing. But this is neither the cavs lab podcast or the magic lamp podcasts. So let's into the celtics lab and do we promised to do so. Mike you recently wrote about your grade for the celtics. Offseason new gave the season a-minus and encouraged anyone. Who's interested to go and find that overt sl and you aren't alone in grading the celtics but other people had a different view in fact some high profile writers who we will not name gave the celtics twenty six best offseason which maybe everyone got as but it doesn't sound like that's a So what we thought we would do. Mike is we would break down the season into little buckets and grade those and see if the Some is worth more than parts or on all cylinders. The celtics in good. So you're going to get. I by the apple but justin alex.

"Team sooner rather than later but boston But lot of buzz around brooklyn nexen. Paul millsap Showed up to the brooklyn. Buzzed bug guests back back in boston. The celtics are according to front of the bug. Brian rob of mess live pursuing tweaks the back end of the roster. What do we think those might be. Let's spend a little bit of time. There might a goody. I so right now. The celtics have sixteen players under contract. What do you think that kind of end of the roster bookkeeping looks like i mean you mentioned millsap and i've wanted paul millsap to go to the celtics for like seventeen years ago so it's a little i mean i understand the ns kanter signing. And i understand that. Paul millsap may not be interested in vet men deal and i understand that those are two different players But like i dunno. I thought the the need to like. Paul millsap is still able to provide some stretch offensively. He's a ball mover he. Can you know post up. Smaller players still unlimited minutes. And he's not like his hands are still really fast on defense and so i mean it's just like this great veteran presence so like i you know i. I thought that that would have been a much better reproductive signing than kanter who. I understand the value that can't do brings as well and was part of boston's roster when they went to the conference brought conference finals a couple years ago. The on that. Like i mean the of i don't really know any specific names right now that i'm like i would hope that whoever they bring in is established is a happy not to play a lot Because i feel like the whoever would come in now as a veteran would be someone to assuage locker room a still a relatively young one So that's like. I bring gerald greenback. I don't i don't know who else And specifically I think this team needs right now. Who is available..

"Mike is going to help us. Break down the off season and give out some grades. But i as we want to do. We're gonna talk a bit of this week's news and actually. That's not even true because mike selfishly. I'm going to ask you about something that happened a year ago. right around this time last year. Something like that. Maybe two years ago at this point you helped break a story right story. I mean i guess you know better than i obviously The famous jalen brown g kyushu. That i've the story itself was fantastic. But i think the photos are probably what people are thinking of most so first of all. How did that project together and second. We won't spend too much time on it. But do you have a funny anecdote or like a surprise from that that may be never got uncovered when it was really breaking news. Yeah sure so. I first of all the photos are way cooler and better worth your time more than the story but so i was Doing some contract work for g. Qa basically covered the bubble for them and they asked me one day. Hey would you like to have this opportunity to interview jalen brown for little over an hour. Do you wanna do it. And i was like yes of course jalen. Unfortunately i was not able to attend the photo shoot in person because of ovid restrictions share which was a huge bomber and i believe the shoot was not at the celtics practice facility but it was nearby On boylston street. I believe for those who know boston. i'm in brooklyn so that was also a little bit of a hang up but We did a we did zoom call. That was amazing He was not wearing any of the. Like i had no idea that like any of it was gonna look as cool as it did like i hadn't. I was told that there was some. I think it's louis vitton. That did the collaborate the nba that he was kind of promoting or whatever. But i had no idea that it would look like they would actually have the nba logo over everything and it would look gorgeous and beautiful and that you know. He was a little exhausted because he did the shoot and then did the interview and it was of late at night and the pictures. I was also be smiling as wide as he was the pictures so That was great but now talking to him was wonderful One of the smartest most insightful Professional athletes that we have in this country. I think. I don't think that's a crazy thing to stay despite his age And you know. Someday i know. Cj mccollum was just voted in as the president of the The players association. Replacing chris paul and some day like i don't know what the inner workings were there Someday i believe anticipate jalen to to be the president and he's just got a ton of great ideas and clearly values You know The everything that happens off the court the nba players are able to impact as much as he does what he does on the court which is played tremendous effective basketball. Follow up to that..

"Otani was there kind of bomb that it wasn't a year when we had international players to really see like the teams from japan. Interact with him. That's one of the delights. Usually seeing the sort of the players that have ties to international teams like hunt them down bond with them specifically. It's been really fun And then mike. Trout came despite not actually playing in the game at bloomfield. Everyone was really excited to see him. And then joe madden who has visited before when he was with the cubs clearly like loves the little league world series And was having a ball you know. I love that you have on the spreadsheet the The lists of the favourite actors favorite school subject favorite food. I would like to see that personally during a major league game just to know you know what adam sandler movie these players really like the best It might influence. You know which players i like. The best is see if i have some interest. The line One one thing that stood down. There's one kid in here. I think his name's eli bucko first of all great name. Eli and his favorite band. Is the counting crows. Were did this kid. Get out of a time capsule what what or maybe just tells you his his parents. This is light. A lot of counting crows right when we were growing up. Our parents exposed us to like the beatles now. These kids are young enough that their parents are generation to expose them to the counting crows. Don't let that sink in person. But yeah i would love to hear some of these factories i think you know. Mlb were always kind of wring our hands about like the face of baseball is not that well known and these guys. Are you know connecting with fans as much as they should be. I think just doing like a running list of like get to know you type questions like they do with these. Little leaguers would would go a long way towards that who who which. Mlb players favorite band is imagine dragons right now probably a lot of them which would be unfortunate for them anyway. Go on i was just gonna going through some by favorite interest that have come up Zaka goyo from hawaii. His dream job is to be a dermatologist. he's also very good at solving rubik's cubes sawyer. Watkins from louisiana. Who is the shortest player in the league. He's four foot five. He goes frog catching his dream. Job is to be hunting and fishing guide and he really likes jim carey. There's so there's so much fun stuff. They all love. Adam sandler that is sort of the most consistent thing. I also love how they ask. These kids were at the little league world series. What their favorites for to play his and they all just say baseball and it is such a waste of. I noticed that to favor favorite sport baseball. It's like why. Why are we asking. This question came come up with something else yet. Did they ever say anything else. I didn't actually see any other sports. Besides favorite sport to play baseball. I mean that would be a boss. Move though if a player was like. Yeah baseball's just kind of like a side hustle for me. I'm actually much better at basketball..

"Happiness lab returns for a new season on august sixteenth. And this time it's personal. I'll be tackling subjects that are particularly close to my heart and meeting people who've had a huge impact on my life. listen. I love the eighties. As much as the next guy. I used more hair mousse than any human being should ever use. I talked to rob lowe a movie star who is everywhere in my youth about the benefits and pitfalls of thinking wistfully about the past. The eighties is merely a fantastic chapter. The lot of people like including me. But i love that. I'm not anchored to any one era or to anyone. Tv show or to anyone movie. I am so trying to answer the question of why never wanna get up in the morning to work out. Even though exercise really brings me joy. I also go back to my research. Roots my expertise in canine cognition explore. Why dogs make us happy. It was magnetic as soon as i saw her. I knew that she was meant for me in the exact thought i had in. My head is dot my puppy. The new season will also include a very personal deep dive into fun. Where's all the fun to be found in our everyday life. And why don't i ever seem to have enough of it. But the most personal revelation the upcoming season of the happiness lab said. I reveal a major crush. That i have on a spaceman superhero. Who unwittingly created an important wellbeing ritual when he took a leak on the way to his rocket ship..

"A lot sale tattoo was she was in the same thing with carl lewis relation You know obviously marrying jones was different story into stripped of her medals. But yeah so. That's probably not the answer but it is cool to see The at the same time records breaking you know it's not it's not like they're they're all in the eighties you know. We saw the the norwegian guy the last night in the in the hurdles so it is possible. Yeah absolutely beverage was awesome because the american brand of american record in his fastest avenue lost. That's amazing to me. that was. That was eight fast raise wash. It was amazing. Just watching the hurdles in the driving rainstorm. Oh yeah just did not seem safe at all. Yeah during the semifinal heats for the women that you know it was really rating and delilah muhammed just like smooth easy. i'm excited for that final tonight but yeah carson were on norway winning setting that record I did in the two hundred meters. The women ran that this morning and flow. Joe's record does still stand in that as well so she. She's got these records from the eighties. Still and i think that's great for i kinda like that also in terms of the accusations around her and maybe some of that comes from her dying young too. She's not here to defend herself. Yeah but also yeah. I mean i think people sort of connect those those two and that leads to some of the speculation but i think a lot of just has to do with the time. I think so too that it was happening elsewhere. It was easy to paint with a brush that was you saw that in cycling. New assumed like everyone was doping because of lance armstrong. Also everyone was doping but you definitely like faded everybody with that brush. Yeah this morning Elaine thompson hera. Who's having an amazing olympic. She won the two hundred meters but she was point. Two seconds behind behind flow does record which was set in that nineteen eighty eight games in seoul. What a fast. What i wonder i wanna know of that track was bouncy at all i mean the thing is is is you know it does seem like i can't really comprehend it because we've seen so many records you know sort of get an asterix or not count because of the wind. But i'm like for instance factor in that. The guy broke the hurdle record and driving rainstorm. Yeah we don't count weather in that regard right. Yeah i can't believe they make them run in that. It seems dangerous a dangerous. I think i would fall although also let's be honest. Could i even like at any point. Jump over. I'll just go if i took like a high jump approach. I was like if i wasted myself up over it. Maybe hurdles man hurdles are amazing. I i will watch those all day long. All right that will do it for this rabbit hole and for this week's show we'll be back in your feed next tuesday..

"With our rabbit hole of the week. The stanley cup finals have begun. Because that's a thing in this weird season. The new york islanders took game one from the tampa bay. Lightning and the vegas. Golden knights beat the montreal canadians last night. So we wanted to talk about these two matchups and how likely and upset looks in either one of them on the athletics hockey podcasts. Arthur staple discussed why the islanders were able to catch the lightning. So flat footed in game. One so i think the islanders new what they needed to do against tampa. And maybe some of the unfamiliarity. I think some of the lightning players did talk about it. They they played two playoff series against teams in florida and carolina. A very different style than the islanders. I don't think that there's a team that plays where the islanders do And does it as effectively as the islanders do that. The tampa saw all season. And i'm sure you have to get used to it. You know so. I think for the islanders. They were well prepared with their regular season in the southeast division. Too tough playoff series. And i think coming off a really good game six against the bruins where they did play that way really opportunistic. They were ready for this one and it just looked like the the lightning weren't and You can't be unprepared against the islanders. You have to have your details ready and be able to attack also just gonna take whatever you they throw you and throw right back in your face. And they certainly did that A lot in the second and third periods so is it the islanders unfamiliar style. That's giving them an early edge against tampa or kneel. Are there other ways. That new york is overperforming. It's ill odds. I do like the idea that we're finally getting to see teams against opponents that they haven't played the whole season like this is one of the most unique seasons in hockey history just because the teams have been self contained within these divisions for months and months and months in now finally. They're seeing opponents that they don't know like the backs of their hands so there may be something to that. I also think that just the islanders continue to get outstanding goaltending semyon varlamov had thirty saves on thirty one Shots in that first game and he's been really dominant throughout the second round in the now into the third round of the playoffs to And i think tampa was getting kinda frustrated by that at times because they are you know they have all of these talented offensive players in stars on and the islanders urge. Just more of an ensemble type of team that has a lot of depth of contributors day They have great goaltending. And so yeah. I mean there are dangerous team and maybe we've been guilty of sleeping on a lot of people have been guilty on a of sleeping on them but right now. They're probably the second most likely team to win the cup of considering the state of each series At least that's the way that that yellow odds have it right now and i think that's rightly so. They've been really impressive in the playoffs yet. I think that's right. I think know we've been saying this well. For most of the regular season into these playoffs that would like to have storm really began until we see teams that are not playing teams. They've playing over and over all season. Know that certainly was true with with tampa plane florida in carolina two teams. They were very familiar with and then had the added bonus of you know having nikita kucherov and steven stamkos and some of these guys weren't maybe they're all season and in having that in.

"Well i mean it was a shame to see one of the few. Bright spots of the season was greek season. Jalen had truly. I mean just just it's such a. It's a great he's He made such a leap the season. I mean i remember. We pick their source skepticism on the fan base of totally early on in his career. You know what what was. Jaylen brown is a three d guy. You know. Nominee people had a ceiling being being as high as it ended up being were uneven. Even so where go yeah. Yeah and so. It's just that seeing you know. And who knows what he'll be right training camp or on. None of us know right like who who knows what that's going to look like. It's three to six months. You know that you hope you hope he heals fully and and and you know he's probably earned a little bit of a break you know and as far as this year's postseason run going. We can blink. An it'll be over so so i just hope that gets healthy. Because their guy. He's he made such an incredible leap this year. Yeah and it sounds like he played through this for a while. If they really had is for a long playoff run first of all i wouldn't have traded. Tyson skirted the luxury tax but also they probably would have jalen play through it. Just on the point that scepticism abounded my most viewed vine ever was a scene from the garden draft party where people had left in disgust because jaylen brown was the pick and no one wanted that to be the case. So there's a time stamp. Free wall are fine and then finally in the week that was danny ainge president of basketball operations for anyone who is unfamiliar. Sorta defended marcus. Smart who you know does more things on the radio recently but he did hint. The changes are two common offseason so before we hop into the hall of fame. Does anyone have any guesses or aspirations. For what those changes in the offseason might be. I have a big one doctor. Someone knows how to pass the ball interesting. Any names come to mind own off the top of my head. i can't really think of. I haven't really put any great amount of thought into it just yet but you know like someone like devante graham may be or someone more established Just really anyone who's actually not score. I point guard. Yeah so you know. It's it's fun to think about this stuff. Except i don't see where the celtics have.

"Where the pandemic. I that was first year. You kind of saw cracks in the business side of the next because Attendance numbers start falling for the first time like capacity worse and that was pre pandemic was badly pandemic combat You know so when you're bad for that long to show you where not putting a good product. Even even the knicks are immune to that and yet there are still one of those guys in the league so now they're back in theory and they had homecourt advantage in the first round. And you know. I imagine that there's a buzz going about them. Going into the going into the fall next year. And so we'll see what happens on. I personally and still very much nick skeptic new just because i'm cynical or you know whatever i'm still very much an skeptic i'm not talking about this year i'm talking about where they can sustain what they have because i think a lot of what's going on the league this year is some it's very flukey by. I think we're i think we're seeing a lot of weird. Things happened this year. And i think next season would they search a level out again I wonder where the knicks pan out and so And so i'm a little bit of news kept but we'll we'll we'll see i'm wrong about a lot of things you know soap on a. I think it's interesting that you mentioned that it's still a nixed town in your mind. Even in spite of all the. I think perfectly warranted mix skepticism. I will say. I do think that just from a fan standpoint like the knicks are cool and the nets are kinda lame i am. Oh that's just me. I just like brooklyn. Yeah you have kevin durant. Yeah you have james harden you have all this elite power. I mean. I'm a big joe harris fan. And a big bruce brown van and all that stuff but like come on they threw together this to chaos roster with like blake griffin coming in like having sandbag three years in detroit into being amazing again. I don't know the nets. The nets are not interested to me. The did no eight. What's different well. Well sure but like. I don't know i think it was i. It was the allen cagey posey eddie scot pollard. You know it wasn't elizabeth. Were all like michael. Finley sandcastle sudan marbury jermaine o'neal shack dope. I'm i i am totally. Not above being a hypocrite and owning that as part of my Celtics boys identity. What i will say though is that whereas you've got this nets absurd super team. That was kind of baked. The knicks are just as like weird funky group got julius randle taking like thirty isolation possessions. A game you've got you know. Rj barrett blossoming into a really. Good player you've got blake. Random ass reggie bullock games happening where reggie bullock will inexplicably dropped twenty five. And you'll be like how did this happen. I don't know i. I just really like what's happening with the nets and think they're more fun story than the nets assembling a super team and steamrolling the title. That's all. I really wanted to throw out enough fair enough and i think that well whatever wicket is in the offseason i think trading cajun ray. Allen are different than Durant telling people at the garden..
