"Hello word nerds. First word for two day is allocution. A. L. L. O. C. U. T. I. O N. This is a noun from sixteen fifteen a formal speech, especially an authoritative or, or a Tory address. The etymology says this is Latin ala Kyo, or Allah, que-, which means to speak to, and that is from ad plus low Kwee, which means to speak next is all of two separate words. This is an adverb from eighteen twenty nine. We have the synonym fully F U L L Y as in. She's all of twenty years old next is a log. Humous. A. L. L. O. G. A. M. O U S. This is an adjective from circa, eighteen ninety reproducing. Ng by cross fertilization, Alaga Amee is a noun next. We have allo generic. A. L. L. O G, E, N E, I see could also be allergenic, which is what I thought the word was in the first place. This is a an adjective from nineteen sixty one involving derived from, or being individuals of the same species that are sufficiently. Unlike genetically to interact anti genetically, as in ELO generic skin graphs, and it says compared to the word sin generic, which I assume is the opposite next. We have. Allographs. L. O. G. R. A F T. This is a noun from nineteen sixty one, a homo graft between allergenic individuals allographs graft can also be a verb. Now. We have allo graph. G R. A H not. G. R. A. F T. This is a noun from nineteen fifty one one a letter of an alphabet in a particular shape, as capital, A, or lower case a to a letter or combination of letters that is one of several ways of representing one phonemes as p p in hopping representing the phone, name p aloe graphic is an adjective. So I guess what it's saying is, basically, the shape of a letter is called an aloe graph. Learn something new every day. Especially when you read the dictionary next, we have Allama tree. A. L. L. O. M. E. T R Y. This is a noun from nineteen thirty six relative growth of a part in relation to an entire organism or to a standard. Also, the measure and stuff. The of such growth, aloe metric is an adjective, next. We have allo. Morph. A. L. L. O. M O, R, P H. This is a noun from nineteen Forty-five one of a set of forms that a more fem- may take in different contexts as in the s of cats, the E N of oxen, and these zero suffix of sheep are alum morphs of the English plural morphine. So I think what this is saying is that there's a thing called the plural morphine, which is the thing that exists to make a word plural. So the s in cats, the E N in oxen and nothing to the word sheep. And so those are called, although morphs aloe more Fiqh is an adjective, and ELO morphism is a noun I think I would have. To learn what other morphines are to find out what aloe morphs are, but I have a little bit more of knowledge of that now, which I probably won't remember next. We have alone j- I think that's how it's pronounced A L L O N G E the pronunciation guide is one of the stranger ones I've seen. It's got an A dash apostrophe L O with the the line over it to say that it's a long. Oh. Then there's an N A super script end. So it's small and it's up top. And then a Z h don't worry, I won't keep on describing the pronunciation guides. This is a noun from circa eighteen fifty nine. We just have the synonym writer to a and writer is spelled R, I, D R. The etymology says this is French and it literally means. Lengthening. So if I were to say this with a French accent, I would say at horribly, but it would be something sort of, like alone JR. But somebody who knows French would say, it much better than me. Next is. Allopathic. A. L. L. O. P. A T H. See this is an adjective from eighteen thirty relating to or being a system of medicine that aims to combat disease by using remedies as drugs or surgery, which produce affects that are different from or incompatible with those of the disease being treated next. This is an adjective from nineteen forty two occurring in different geographical areas, or in isolation as in Allah, Patrick spec-, Asian, it says compared to the word sim, Patrick. And that is not the first time we've seen that the opposite of one of these aloe words has an S Y at the beginning, aloe. Patrick Lee is an adverb an aloe Patrie is a noun. The etymology says this is made combining all, plus the Greek Padro, which means fatherland, and that is from Potter, which means father, and there's more at the word father next is Ella Fain, the end of it is P. H. A N E. This is a noun from circa eighteen twenty one and a morpheus translucent mineral of various colors often occurring in, in crustaceans, or stalactites forms and consisting of a hydrogen aluminum. Silicate the etymology says this is from the Greek allo fannies, which means appearing, otherwise, and that is from all plus finest sty. By P, H, A, I N, E, S, T, H, A, I, which means to appear, and that is the middle voice of finding which means to show and there's more at the word fancy next. We have. Elephone. P. H. O N E. This is a noun from nineteen thirty eight one or two or more variants of the same phone name as in the aspirated p of pin, and the Annaspiratou p of spin are Allophones of the same phone name p I'm not one hundred percent. Sure on what they mean by aspirated and Annaspiratou, but I might have to look that up. But here we've got another aloe word that is related to letters in sounds in such Allah phone, and Ella morph, Allah phonic is an adjective next is. Allo polly. -ployed. A. L. L. O. P. O. L. Y P, L O, I D, this is a noun from nineteen twenty eight. It's a great word a poly -ployed individual or strain having a chromosome set. Composed of two or more chromosome sets derived more or less complete from different species aloe polyp Loyd is also an adjective and aloe Polly ploy. D is a noun. Whoa, aloe. Polly, try and say that ten times fast next is Allah, pure and all a. L. L. O. P. U R, I N O L. This episode is the phrase all or nothing. It is hyphenated. "Hello word nerds. Welcome to another episode of the dictionary yet. We're still doing this real quick. Today is June twenty first, but when I'm recording this, it's not June twenty-first. But when you're listening to this, no, that's probably not right either. When this posts it will be June twenty-first, and that is the summer solstice of twenty nineteen. I love this day because it is the longest day of the year it has the most sunlight, and I think we could all use some more sunlight now in again. So go ahead, take advantage of the longest day of the year. If you're in the northern hemisphere, if you're in the southern hemisphere, it's probably your shortest day of the year and apologies for that. But in six months, it will be flip-flopped, and you can be very happy for your longest day of the year, and we will be in the cold and the dark. And that is really depressing. To me that time of year. All right. First word for this episode is. Alluvial. A. L. L. U. V. I A L. This is the first form. It's an adjective from seventeen eighty one relating to composed of or found in alluvia m-, as in alluvial soil or alluvial diamonds, next. We have the second form of alluvial. This is a noun from eighteen sixteen and alluvial deposit. Next is alluvial fan. F A N. This is to separate words. This is a noun from eighteen sixty two the alluvial deposit of a stream where it issues from a gorge upon a plane or of a tributary stream at its junction with the main stream, and we actually have a little black and white drawing of an alluvial fan. It just looks like some hills with a river in the middle. And then at the end of the river, sort of. Fans out, which is where they get the word fan from next is alluvial on. A. L. L. U. V. I. O N. This is a noun from fifteen thirty six one the wash or flow of water against ashore to we have these synonyms flood and inundation three the synonym alluvia m-, which we will be reading shortly four and a session to land by the gradual edition of matter as by deposit of alluvia m- that then belongs to the owner of the land to which it has added. Also the land so added. The says this is from the Latin aware a which means to flow past or deposit of water. And that is from LA Veira, or LA the vs might be w so it might be law wear a which means to wash and there's more at the word lie. L Y E, every time I hear the word lie. I think of the movie. Fight club. And next is alluvia. M-. A. L. L. U. V. I U M. This is a noun from circa sixteen fifty six clay silt sand gravel or similar Detroit o material deposited by running water next is all wheel drive all wheel is hyphenated. This is a noun from nineteen thirty four and automobile drive mechanism that acts on all four wheels of the vehicle next. We have the word ally. Or also ally, both pronunciations are correct. This is the first form of it. It's spelled. A. L L Y. This is a verb from the fourteenth century transitive definition is to unite or form a connection or relation between synonym is associate as in allied himself with a wealthy family by marriage in-transit definition is. To form or enter into an alliance as in two factions allying with each other. The etymology says this is from the Latin Ali Garay, which means to bind to that is from league ouray, which means to bind, and there's more at the word ligature. Now, we have the second form of ally or ally. This is a noun from fifteen ninety eight one a sovereign or state associated with another by treaty or league to a plant or animal linked to another by genetic or tech sonic proximity. Three one that is associated with another as a helper. Synonym is exhilarating. Now we have ally again, but this is a suffix. So it is dash. A. L. L Y, it says it's actually an adverb suffix so before the main definition, it has just a dash L Y as in terrifically. And then in that in the word. Terrifically A, L L Y is a cts to show that, that's the part that we're talking about. And then the main definition is in adverbs formed from adjectives in I see with no alternative form in icy a L. So it's talking about adjectives that end in icy, or I see a l so, for instance, in their example, terrific or terrific Li it ends in ic-, which is where A L L Y gets added to the word terrific. But if you were to have a word like radical, that's the just the first one that I can think of that ended in icy AL venue, just add L Y to turn it into an adverb. I think I figured it out next is I think it's pronounced. Alal-. A L, L, Y L. This is an adjective from eighteen fifty four being or containing the unsaturated monovalent radical. C h two c h c h to a lot of C H is, and it looks like the analogy is telling me that it is from the Latin word Allie, m which means garlic, and we've talked about that before next is the word a lillick a fun. Word to say L, L, Y L. I see this is an adjective from eighteen fifty six involving or characteristic of an ally ill radical. So, of course, L is the word that we just read. And that's funny. That radical is mentioned because I completely made that one up when we were looking at that adverb suffix next is the word alma. Jest. A. L. M. A. G. E. S T. This is a noun from the fourteenth century, any of several early medieval treatises on a branch of knowledge. The etymology is saying, this is from the aerobic all Modu STI the Arabic version of Ptolemies astronomy. Treaties treatise. And that is from, I'll plus the Greek Majestee, which literally means the greatest, as in composition. I guess, so that's what alma just means. Next is almo mater, two words, a l m a next word. M. A. T E R. This is a noun from sixteen fifty one one, a school college or university, which one has attended or from which one has graduated to the song, or hymn of a school college or university, the etymology, I think is kind of interesting, it's Latin, if you didn't already know that, and it means fostering, mother. So I think what it's saying is that the, the school or college or university that you graduated from is kind of law, like kind of like the mother, and it has fostered you it has given you education so you can go out. Into the world. That's kind of nice next. We have almanac. This is a noun from the fourteenth century one eight publication containing astronomical. And meteorological data for a given year, an often, including a miscellany of other information, I had trouble with the word meteorological, seemed like I was adding an extra syllable. But I think it's right to a usually annual publication containing statistical tabular and general information next. We have all. Mundine. A. L. M. A N D I N E this is a noun from the fifteenth century. We just have these synonym almond date, which is our next word. But let's take a look at the etymology first pairing this down. It looks like it's from the middle Latin Alabama Dina, and that is from Alabama, which is an ancient. City in Asia, Minor. And now we have the word Allman dight, and I think this will actually be the last word for this episode. A. L M, A, N D. I thi this is a noun from circa, eighteen sixty eight a deep red garnet consisting of an iron aluminum silicate, and that will be the end of this episode. Thank you so much for listening. And until next time this is Spencer reading the dictionary. Thank you. And goodbye.

"Hello word nerdy, his. Nope. Hello word nerds. Welcome to another episode of the dictionary. I have things to say. Nope. Don't have anything to say, do I kind of I had an idea recently to make this podcast, a little bit more interesting, which I don't think anybody would argue with that it could use that. So the idea is, I would have guessed readers. They would record one or two or four episodes. And yeah, I think I'll start asking people, I know. But if you are a fan and you would like to be a guest reader, let me know I think, you know how to do that. I would love to get some celebrities to read. I've got some ideas of people I wanna contact, but I have to do that. I just haven't gotten around to it yet. So in the relatively near future, you may actually hear another voice. On this end talking to your ear whole brain. And I know some people who are good speakers better than me. I know some people who I will probably force to help me out, and, honestly, this isn't that I don't want to do the work. In fact, I would end up being there with them, it would probably end up being a lot more work for me in the long run. But I think to hear another voice to hear another point of view in their interjections. I know people who are funnier than me. So to hear them would be great for you. I will still try and keep them to be not explicit because I would like this podcast to be for everyone. But, you know, if they are, I'll just Mark it that way, and you'll have to figure it out. So, yeah, that is my plan. We'll see what happens with that. Now, let's get to the words I word for this episode is allow a L O W vis is a verb. From the fourteenth century transitive definitions, one a to assign as a share or suitable amount as of time or money as in allow an hour for lunch. When I record, this podcast, I usually allow myself about an hour, and it's happens to be over my lunch break one b to reckon as a deduction or an addition as in allow a gallon for leakage to a is chiefly southern and Midland to be of the opinion synonym is think to be is seems to be in a certain dialect or something. And it has these synonyms say and state to see to express, an opinion usually used with as how or that three is also chiefly southern and. Midland. We have these synonyms intend and plan for we have the synonyms admit and concede as in must allow that money causes problems in marriage five. A synonym is permit, as in doesn't allow people to smoke in his home, five be to forebear or neglect to restrain or prevent as in allow the dog to Rome, we now have the in transitive definitions one to make a possibility. Synonym is admit it says it is used with the word of as in evidence that allows of only one conclusion to, to give consideration to circumstances or contingencies used with the word four as in allow for expansion next word is allow a bowl. This is an adjective. From the fifteenth century. We have these synonym permissible as in allowable income tax deductions allow a Blee is an adverb next word is allowance. If there are any kids out there or if you were once a kid, which you were, maybe you got an allowance. This is the first form it is a noun from the fourteenth century one, a A-share or portion alloted, or granted one be a some granted as a reimbursement or bounty or for expenses as in salary includes cost of living allowance, especially a some regularly provided for personal or household expenses as in each child has an allowance one see a fixed or available amount as in provide an allowance of time for recreation. One day. D a reduction from a list price or stated price as in a trade in allowance to an imposed handicap as in a horse race three and allowed dimensional difference between mating parts of a machine. There's some interesting things in their dimensions mating machines curious about that one four the act of allowing synonym is permission five eight. Taking into account of mitigating circumstances, or contingencies as in the plan makes no allowance for bad weather. You always have to allow for bad weather if what you're doing is outside. There could always be bad weather. Second form of allowance is a verb from seventeen fifty eight transitive. In fact, I think one is archaic to put on a fixed allowance as of food, and drink. Two is also archaic to supply in a fixed or regular quantity next we have allow it Lee. A. L. L. O. W. E. D L Y. This is an adverb from sixteen o to the definition just says by allowance and the synonym is admittedly next is a Locsin. A. L. L. O. X A N. This is a noun from eighteen fifty three a crystalline compound, c four h to end two oh, four causing diabetes mellitus when injected into experimental animals personally, I'm not a big fan of experimenting on animals. I do know that we have learned a lot about science and about humans from experimenting on animals. But I still just don't think it's right that. Just a my opinion. Next word is alloy. A L. L O Y. This is the first form of it. This is a noun from sixteen four one, the degree of mixture with base metals. Synonym is fine. Nisus F, I. N. E. N E S S to a substance composed of two or more medals or of a metal and a non metal intimately United usually by being fused together and dissolving in each other. When molten also the state of union of the components three, a an admixture that's one word admixture that lessons value three B and impairing alien element four, a compound mixture or union of different things as in an ethnic, alloy of many, people's I do like the. Idea of a group of many different types of people's what that alloy would be. I don't know what this example, is trying to tell me five is archaic, a metal mixed with a more valuable metal to give durability or some other desired quality. The etymology for alloy says it is from the French alloy. AL. Oh, I. And that is from allier, A, L E, I R, which means to combine that is from the Latin Ali Garay, which means to bind, and there's more at the word ally. A L L Y second form of alloy is a verb from sixteen sixty one transitive one, a we have these synonyms temper, and moderate, one b to impair or debase by admixture to, to reduce the purity of by mixing with a less valuable metal. Three to mix. So as to form an alloy in transitive definition is to lend itself to being alloyed, as in iron alloys. Well, next, we have all powerful. This is hyphenated. It's an adjective from sixteen. Sixty seven having complete or soul power as in an all powerful leader. Of course, we think of the wizard of Oz. When we think of all, powerful, but to use that power in a negative way can be a problem. So think about that the next time you are leading a large group of people next and last four. This episode is all purpose. This is hyphenated. A. L. L. Hyphen. P. U. R. P O, S E. This is an adjective from nineteen twenty eight suited for many purposes or uses and that will end this episode. Thank you for listening and until next time this is Spencer reading the dictionary goodbye.

The Secrets of the Self: Unity Versus Duality

"The like to welcome one of our newest sponsor of the program. All birds oil birds shoes are made from natural materials. That would make your feet happy. They'll come back to daly breath. We're going a little further into. Where are people stuck in life? Where are most people stuck the one word I would use for being stuck his duality? Duality is the concept. That does me and then there is. The other is me and as everything else. How does this duality compare with poetry called unity? Do they even defer? What is the difference between? The experience of unity was is the experience of duality. The experience of duality separation and separate self or even the idea of the separate tough gives us an anxiety of being eliminated from the web of existence and that exist Lisa what is called existence anxiety which leads to depression all the various forms of distress mental distress anger hostility guilt. Shame depression on and on. That's the experience of duality unity on the other hand beans that that reject me or I is actually a differentiated expression of the whole. Just Lake. The branch of a tree is differentiated expression of the trunk which is a differentiated expression of the roots. In the branch of course leads to twigs and leaves and flowers and fruits and seeds. We can see that even in the differentiation of the seed into roots trunk ranches. Twigs Leaves Flowers. Latham's seeds forests that is the simultaneously of unity and diversity diversity. Differentiation and differentiation is not separation your heart your lungs. Your brain your kidney. Your bodily organs are differentiated expressions. That make your body hood. They're not separate if they were separate they'd be doing their own thing but they work in a way that recalled correlation because they are differentiated expressions of the unified self. Your body is an example of that but so the ecosystem and ultimately the whole universe. Now if you reflect on this a little bit you'll realize that wholeness remains the same. No matter how much it changes your task is to make wholeness more real in your life here as an example of what. I would call duality thinking at just an example. There's a rumor that your company is downsizing and that immediately triggers the fear of duality in you with thoughts like I could lose the one thing I need to support myself for someone else has control my destiny or I'm faced with something unpredictable and unknown or I don't deserve to be blindsided like this or I could be hurt if things go wrong for me. How do we you reframe that expense of duality? Here's some ideas. Try and understand how one can even in the midst of this expensive. Duality move in the direction of unity. Realize that what we call our deepest south created. This situation realize no matter what happens. There's a reason realize that yes. You're surprised right now but it doesn't change who you're essences who you essentially are. It doesn't affect who you are who you are as I am because I am is independent of. I am the situation. Tell yourself that your life is unfolding according to what is best in most evolutionary for you. Remind yourself that you can't lose what's real. Which is you're being. It's not that you have awareness. You are awareness. You don't have awareness in the way you have red. Shoes are brown is a blond hair. You are awareness experiencing the red shoes. The blonde is the brown hair. So if you realized this you settle into a state of being way you realize that the externals will fall into place as they need to and no matter what happens you can't be hurt the real you cannot be heard Before we continue. I'd like to take a minute to tell you about the sponsor of today's program all buds. #A132 (all right to allusion)

"Good morning to all of my word nerds out there. It might not be morning where you are. And it's not morning where I am so high. Let's do this first word for today is all right to separate words, a l l space, R, I H T, I form. This is an adjective from eighteen o eight one, we have the synonyms satisfactory, and agreeable as in whatever you decide is all right. With me to synonyms are safe and well as in he was ill. But he's all right now. That's good to hear three synonyms are good and pleasing often used as a generalized term of approval as in an all right guy. I think I'm an alright guy usage. At says, see the word. All right. A. L. R. H T all one word. Looks like we'll get to that word in about one two, three four five six episodes, next is the second form of. All right. This is an adverb from circa, eighteen eleven one beyond doubt. Certainly is a synonym as in she has pneumonia. Alright, it's kind of an odd example, like many of them are to used interjection Louis, especially to express agreement or resignation or to indicate the resumption of a discussion as in. All right. We can do that if you want, also. All right. Let's go, where are we going? I don't know three well enough satisfactorily is a synonym as in does all right in school and again we have the usage. It says see the word. Alright next is all. All round with a hyphen. This is a variation of all around, which, I think we've read before next is all rounder with the hyphen. This is a noun from eighteen seventy five. It is British one having many skills or uses next is All Saints day. Each word is capitalised. This is a noun from sixteen twenty two November. I observed in western liturgical, churches, as a Christian feast in honor of all the saints next is all souls day. Again, each word is capitalised. This is a noun from the fourteenth century, November second observed in some Christian churches as a day of prayer for the souls of the faithful departed next is all spice all one word, and boy, do I want it to be all spices day. This is a noun from sixteen twenty one one the. Jerry of a West Indian tree of the Myrtle family. Also the all spice tree, the scientific name for the West Indian tree is P. Menta. Diga. A. P. I. M. E. N. T A D I, oh, I see a to a mildly pungent an aromatic spice prepared from the dried all spice buries. It doesn't give me at Amal G for this. But I am really curious to know where the word all spice in this situation comes from. I've, I've heard about it as a spice but never really thought about where the word came from, I guess, I sort of thought it was about a lot of spices mixed together like a pumpkin pie spice or something like that. But that that's not what it is at all next, we have all star hyphenated. This is the first form. This is an adjective from eighteen eighty eight composed wholly or chiefly of stars or. Outstanding performers or participants as in an all star cast. And no, I'm not going to sing the song. Now we have the second form of all star. This is a noun from nineteen o five a member of an all star team next. We have all terrain vehicle all-terrain is hyphenated. This is a noun from nineteen sixty nine a small motor vehicle with three or four wheels that is designed for use on various types of terrain called also ATV next. We have all that two separate words. This is an adverb from nineteen forty five to an indicated or suggested extent, or degree synonym is the word so S O as in didn't take his threats all that seriously. Maybe because in the past is threats were just empty threats and that's why they're not taken seriously. So maybe you're threats should be. Full threats next. We have all time this is hyphenated. This is an adjective from nineteen fourteen one, we have the synonym fulltime one to being for or of all time up to an including the present, especially exceeding all others of all time, the beginning of that definition was a little weird. But I hope you still understand what it says as in an all time best seller next, we have all told two words, this is an adverb from eighteen fourteen with everything or everyone taken into account as in expecting eight guests, all told next we have the word allude. A. L. L U D. This is a verb from fifteen thirty three looks like it's in transitive to make indirect reference, as. As in comments alluding to an earlier discussion, broadly. We have the synonym refer. R E, F, E R, the etymology says this is from Latin allude, dairy, which literally means to play with that is from ad plus ladera which means to play. And there's more at the word ludicrous, a favourite word of mine, and now I know where it comes from. And of course, I have to mention the movie space balls where they go into ludicrous speed. And if you haven't seen space balls, it's an incredibly silly movie, and I recommend it next. We have a lure. A. L. L. U R E. This is the first form. This is a verb from the fifteenth century to entice by charm or attraction. I should mention that this is a transitive verb. And it says see the word attract for a synonym allurement is a noun and alluring. Lee is an adverb now. We have the second form of allure. This is a noun from fifteen forty eight power of attraction, or fascination synonym is charm, I do not have this next and last word for this episode is allusion not illusion but a luge in with an. A. A. L. L. U. S. I. O N. This is a noun from sixteen twelve one an implied or indirect reference, especially in literature. Also, the use of such references to the act of alluding to or hinting at something allusive is an adjective, allusively is an adverb and allusive nece is a noun that will end this episode. Thank you so much for listening. And of course, you can check the episode. Details for contact information. If you wanna tell me anything positive negative. Venting, whatever. And of course, go rate and review this, because that just helps me get more exposure. So more people can listen to the dictionary. Thank you. And goodbye.

Ask Nick - Warning Signs

"What is going on everybody? Happy Monday to you. Wall hope your Sunday scares weren't so bad. NFL again if it's not Monday well thanks for a finally given to us you know. I'm sure your life is busy. We appreciate you taking the time Rochelle you have an update. If do you not yet all you people like to hear sometimes some follow ups to some of our callers. Yeah and if you are someone who has called in in the past please even we let us know fan of these follow ups. I mean I'm not saying I'm not what you don't lie awake at night wondering what happens. No okay so do you guys remember. This is one of our craziest colors. We had the doctor who is dating someone and all of a sudden. She started getting weird instagram messages. From someone I remember. Yeah oh a lady not rather. She's very beautiful. What are you why are you is your exactly your doctor but anyways yeah I said this last the episode? Sometimes you get these emails thinking like she can figure out what you just assumed it was like the the X uses X. I thought it was some mentally ill. Oh like turns out the mystery is solved it was the of the guy she wasn't deed she tracks. It's the IP address. So she didn't just let it go move on with their life. She's those Dr C.. Track the IP address to specific building in San Francisco that he confirmed she worked at okay. She's a nurse Okay and she works in administration so she's wondering like she's a nurse. The X.'s X.'s nurse so interesting healthcare community. Yeah so the caller is concerned. She's thinking like she needs to let someone know. This person is obviously mentally unstable. She's concerned that you know. She has access to all of this stuff so She talked to the guy and he says No. No no no. We don't don't want to report it. We don't want to like get involved in. He also was acting like it wasn't a big deal at first when when she told him about it. So she's still talking to this guy I feel like I don't totally remember what you told her. Didn't we tell her to move on from this guy. Ah Yeah you said that like. It didn't start until he started seeing him so he's the common denominator. Get rid of him. Yeah uh so. She's still hanging out with him because she was she was. She seemed like she was pretending she didn't like him. That must pretend like not much exactly so she's still still. She should wear the shirt. I'm wearing well I don't know if it's one of the. Yeah I don't know I don't respect myself situation situation. Yeah let situation is it. I don't know I mean it's drama and it's kind of fairly toxic but it doesn't seem like doc it's not like a situation where he's the I don't respect myself situation as the he's not giving you anything. Yeah but always you know he's Brad crumbling cramming you just kind of leaving little bread crumbs to to keep you a row but never really giving anything you want but you keep chasing him. I don't get that in this situation but this seems like a toxic situation in which she's she's having more fun with it then I think she's putting on reunion tracking the US. Yeah she's she's a she's playing investigator so to speak no she should just hunter killer and call it a day exactly. That was kind of fun you know at. Sometimes we like to just stay. We live in her drama too much. How is it boredom rivard? Have you ever stock someone. No I said that very hesitantly say like well I wouldn't call it that but like all my friend said he's still alive. I'm guilty. I think this is common. I can get down rabbit holes online shove like looking into who someone is dating now or and then suddenly you're on their second cousins like newborns cleaning and you're like why am I here really get you gone that far as this is this guy's that you're thinking about dating or guys you've gone on a date with or exes exes or this. Yeah but like I just think it's a bad habit of like and then you just say okay this not doing this anymore Muslims. You're done that. I spent a while. Yeah sure yeah what is it. Why why you know I thanks only interesting last time of like when you got cheated on you had the thoughts of why are they better than me and I think like I can fall into that sometimes too like? Why is this person good enough and she tried to figure it out? It's not a that's it it's not really. There's nothing really gathered about yourself by looking get someone else's the and the truth is what they are is different. Most of the time you know think also like think about when we okay. Stop Liking someone and then start dating someone else in Ho what we normally do. We end up kind of dating different versions of the same person right so all that person person is probably a different version of you and they're just not annoyed with them yet so if you're looking for reasons what things. They might get annoyed with and I love it when people like well. I can't believe so and so it'd be like they do this and they told me they hate this. You know or who cares yeah. Yeah it's like we go on looking for something to make us upset like you say if you go on looking for that you're gonNA find it and eventually gets ironist. I was making yourself feel bad. I'm Tiffany I'm twenty two years old to twenty two yeah So I wanted to talk about my friends friends today. 'cause I think I just need advice on how to handle questions. She asked me I guess so she has these two guys that she's been talking to. They're both quite older than her. She's twenty two also And these guys are thirty four and thirty six and she's never really done anything before not like she's never been in a relationship if she's never really done anything sexually or whatever she's a virgin. Yeah you. It wasn't go ahead. She's not really hanging out with them. It's all over taxed She met so she actually knows them both from in person but she's never since they've been talking she's never been with them at person makes sense. Sure I mean it doesn't make sal alive and I understand what you're saying. It's because she one of them was her athletic trainer in college so his athletes or the other one was. That's her manager at the place. She worked I think for me. The age difference isn't the biggest thing that's more the way they talk to her. It's like the language would they use is very kind of disrespectful. I think in very forward They'll say things like she because she's tried had to make it clear that like she hasn't really done anything before. And they'll they'll say things like I wouldn't be able to like stick to your boundaries if I was with you 'cause I won't be able to keep my hands off of you things like that. So she she saying hey listen. I'm a she sent me this text. Hey look this is what this one guy said. Hey Look I'm I'm sorry I just know that I'm the kind of person that would violate those boundaries. A second we got together. I wouldn't be intentionally trying to hurt your feelings just the way I am but hey you got my number. I'm I've I've always had the same one hanging out with obviously certainly reading this. We all agree. That sounds a little creepy question. What did she say to him but she saying I like you know what I'm saying there in fairness there's only like this one part here like I mean people had sex all the time and I'm just saying is she saying to him? I like you but I don't want them like what's prompting him to say these things I know like I think so. I feel like she's always kind of had lower self esteem when it comes to guys and I think the fact that they're older guys that are showing interest in her I remember I think he likes that. Yeah my question is like why are you calling in the sense of like what is she doing and what she asking you and what is her. Go out of this US So at first I was kind of pushing her to try to hang out with these guys in person because I thought if she did it in person she would realize is she wasn't super into them or whatever 'cause I feel like it can be different person but she's told me that she wants to have sex with them and I think that's where just because of the things they've said like if she decides she wants to stop or something. I'm just a little worried that maybe they wouldn't respect that. I mean I totally get your concern and I think that's great as a Fred. You know I'm a little nervous to say taken out of context taxed in just completely completely Accused guys as maybe predators of some sort. I mean I agree. That tech sounds creepy. But there's just a lot of a lot of information we don't have that could just be dirty talk sexting or whatever. I don't know if I could handle myself around you. It might be his way of saying I find you really hot and when and when it comes down to it he might be the nicest the most respectful guy. I don't know what I'm saying. I don't know him. Yeah I I don't know them either but I have seen like longer conversations between them and none of it even when it's not in the more sexual actual context is it's usually kind of like oh you're scared to have sex like once we start you'll be fine like they're trying to convince her to have sex. Yeah yeah that's weird and the men older men to go woman. There's a word for what what they do to like. Get them ready when they grooming. Yeah yeah there's a grooming thing I'm looking at up because I don't know the sinus mindless I do find that weird. Don't like in my experience. I've done other girl who's younger than me. I'm I'm literally opposite. I'm feel like I'm the one who's just like I don't know like I just I. And they're they seem to be more the pursuers in that instance. I am not saying one's right or wrong. But because the age factor that he had they do due to age alone they have more experience and there's certainly a power dynamic there and the fact that that seems uncomfortable that they seem to be exercising to like Tim. Different people that's also interesting that these two different guys and so why is she. What's going on there you know? Why is it all of a sudden these two you guys that she knows? I mean you know what I'm saying. She is an adult and she's like let's let's not act like she's being kidnapped or anything like she's pursuing these these guys and yeah what they're saying seems a bit creepy but like why she reaching out to these guys you know why you're talking to her and she's sharing these texts with us. She's looping yeah she's telling you know what I'm saying like there's this a lot I don't know I mean I She actually didn't tell me about any of them until like a few months after she'd been talking to them and I kind of had to yank it out of her because I could tell something was going on And I'm the only person she talks to. Which is why I guess I feel some pressure like say the right things would i? What did she say youtube talking and she say hey? I'm talking guys as I like that. I'm thinking about losing my virginity with one or both of them. Is that how it's going or she make or are you getting the sense that she's feeling pressured by them Or you know or does she like this her being a virgin. Do you get the sense that she's tired of being a virgin and she just wants to lose it to somebody or like you know what I'm saying what what's going on here and that's what I really don't know like all of her close friends aren't virgins. I and so I don't know if that's part of it. I really don't know I've never heard her talk about wanting to have sex until she was telling me about these guys so I really don't no does she. Keep it this a secret from other people like. Are you the only person who knows. Do you think yes. She hasn't told like anyone else. Here's the thing I we. There's a lot of information we don't have about these guys. You know I think what what here. Here's what you consider. Yeah I think it's important as a friend to try to get her to open up to you about her sexuality and what she wants and don't make you know listen I. I think it's really cool at your virgin and if you WANNA lose it that's great but make sure that you are comfortable and make sure that you really want and don't let anyone convince you to do before you're ready. I would really bring that point. We try to make her feel very empowered about her virginity and try to make her feel very confident about it. You know okay. Here's another guest. Just please promise me that you're not sharing any of this information with anyone could be in deep trouble. See that's like I just looked up grooming that he's talking to her. So one of the key he tenants is that it secrecy and they bind you secrecy. Also establishing trust all established trust because they worked with her so I mean I think you who she should trust her gut that something's amid. Yeah I mean I'm not familiar with this grooming thing and that does sound weird. Yeah it's weird to set like for example example because this doesn't sound like sexting or anything you know like if you're if I'm if I'm dating anyone right and let's say there are some sexton going on and I hope that we're not sharing it with you know there's just like I've dated people were you know there's been some sexy and it's kind of like you know like you know share this that's right you know. There's that but this whole like I would. I've never said anyone I would be in big trouble for you know what I'm not. That's a red flag. I'm just not familiar with this grooming idea. India it's a thing I think I just think for you as a friend. What you can do is empower maker like just you gotTa make her feel confident in hurt affected? She's still a virgin and then if she wants to lose that's great that she would just make sure that she's ready and end. Maybe I don't know reader in on this grooming concept. I think this might be going on here. I just think she's so lucky to have have you as a friend and someone who cares and like that she was felt she could trust you to tell you like you're being a really good friend and I think that's awesome you. These tax are the guy is coming from the both these guys to see. It seems so random that if this is what's going on this grooming thing that she's found random because they find there's like a type of person who can fall victim to this so to me. I don't think it's weird because if sh- she's probably the perfect type of victim victim for this and that's why this has happened like a lot of times people who had bad experiences. It's not like an isolated experience because she hasn't had any experience I I know I know I know but I'm saying I don't think it's that weird because they can probably tell exactly the right person and so about that one text ex that you just read I asked her what he what she thought about like. Not being able to tell anyone and she said she thought it was because he was her manager manager but he's also mentioned how he has a he had a girlfriend who liked tries to come back in sometimes and so I don't know maybe there is as is not our manager. He's managed anymore right. I mean you know what could he doesn't make sense that he'd be in trouble there too dolls. That doesn't make sense but so that's in her head why he said that but I don't think that's what it while to kind of to Rachelle point. I think you should say hey. Listen I don't know but it doesn't make sense that he like he would be in trouble and not that you should go tell anyone because that's between you and him damn but does it does. Doesn't that concern. You let let let. Let's say look at the possibilities. Well you don't work for him anymore. So he that that that wouldn't get him in trouble. So what does he wise. Why is he keeping this a secret? Either a he's not telling you something or be. It's just a manipulation into tactic on his part. Either way that this sounds not right so you kind of break net down and just encourage. You're like you're saying like like try. Try Finding someone who who isn't in like a different power dynamic than you maybe try dating someone your own age for a while like just encourage her like show her all these things that maybe are adding up on paper and like do it with love like this is like the the age just because she's a version doesn't mean she has like did in another twenty two year old or twenty three year old but I think the important part is is that she should just feel again. I I can't relate because I I wasn't at twenty two of Virgin and you know I lost my virgin yet. Seventeen and it was kind of a timer on my life where I was like in my ready. I don't know I didn't feel pressure to lose my virginity and I don't know if she is feeling pressure right to like all all my friends aren't virgins and I always wanted with and if she is feeling pressure then she could be at risk of putting herself and a A situation that might not be the healthiest to that point because she just wants to get it over with so to that point maker. Don't make her feel like this. Like Hey I don't think it's I think it's cool that you are a virgin kind of thing you know. I WANNA know if this might change anything. 'cause I always forget. But when they were drunk one night like separately One of the guys message message to her and said that he loved her and so she said it back and I think that's part of why she might be a little more like wanting to have sex with them warmed because she thinks that those feelings are there. I mean I don't know if that's the case then she maybe have some maturing because this isn't even just one guy there's two different guys is it just because some guy says I love. You doesn't mean she has to say it back you know and just you know and again I appreciate. Why feel good on her part and then she's getting attention? I I understand that but why why is she first and foremost. Why is she like why these two guys you know what's going on there that she's you know it's not even as it's not even if they were telling the story that case she's dating this one guy and she says she's in love and I have my concerns from autumn understanding these two guys? There's some similarities with their age and their similarities. And the fact they both could be argued that have apart nabet over her and they both doing these. These things You know so like what's going on there that she's doing that you know I don't have an answer but like Sh- make acre feel like you know she doesn't have to feel pressure that's all and like just get yourself in a situation where she's feels more in control. Ask Her ask her. Do you feel like you're in control these situations. That'd be a question cures of she asks because I want to feel like you should. You should be in control And you know and these tough situations when anytime. You're afraid that your friends in a in a toxic situation. The best. The only thing you can do is showman's much love and support. You can and make them feel empowered because in these situations they feel a little like they don't have power they don't have control there. She's probably spending all her time trying to figure out these guys. What do they mean by this? What are they saying? He's the. NFC are being manipulated. So you know you got to try to do it without pushing her away. Don't make feel judged. Don't make her feel stupid. Don't make her feel. You know what I'm saying. These are all like there's a fine line because it can be tough but I think that's where I've been struggling because I'm the only person she talks you. I don't know how much to like. Push back on her about these guys and 'cause because I don't want her to be like she can't talk about it anymore that I'm judging her I think she should a my biggest fear is why is she keeping his. Why are these secrets? The men want them him to be. I honestly think you need to tell like someone like I. I think you should tell her parents or something. But that's just my opinion. I I don't know I. I just skim worried for her but yeah I mean I. I don't know I mean she I just again. This is new to me and she is. She is an adult and she is. She doesn't work for these people at any point she could stop talking to them. I understand they've astronaut to I understand. They've said these things things but you know what I'm saying I don't like does nothing really shopping. Mind like there's just control things that people can do sure but I'm not at the risk of of her going behind her friends back. I mean you know. I don't want to give you advice. Awesome threaten this friendship. If your friends not endangered I think you just just talk to her. The voice your concern. I would what I think you should do is say. Hey listen like this. I don't know why are making this a secret. This shouldn't be the NFL and if she says well they've asked me not to the Knin. That's another again then opportunity for you to say well. They shouldn't be asking you not to and it should concern you that they are asking. Can you to keep a secret. Because you're doing nothing wrong. You know talking to another adult about a potential. Dating situation shouldn't be remain a secret. And and there's a difference between like not you know putting your relationship life I'm blast on social media versus like. Why do you have to keep this a secret and if you do then there's something wrong if there's something wrong that she should walk away you know like you kind of almost have to reverse engineer it and kind of saying you know what I'm saying like try to get some clarity around it because because that to me is the biggest one flag these? This shouldn't be a secret. It shouldn't be taboo and it'd be wrong and if it is and there's something they're not you know you're Kinda fucked up modern fertility monitor fertility. I don't know how to open that does she. I'm curious she's sharing these texts with you. Yes obviously right. How do you have? She shared these texts with you. Yeah right and why should the. Yeah I mean. I'm curious as to why although she must she's confused. She must have some questions if she's asking. You doesn't really ask me questions. She just like when she he sends me those texts. It's not she's not reading it in a weird way. She's happy about that. He thinks they're like good the he so he isn't it. Does she not get attention I think she thinks she doesn't tell her all the time like how pretty she is and how guys like her and she says that we say that. Because we're her friends so I think maybe in her head. She thinks she doesn't. Yeah I mean and again. It's one of those tough situation. Just got to try to be as loving as possible and try to just keep doing that and make her feel comfortable and end. Is that fine line because you know if she send you these texts billick list like listen. I don't know this guy or whatever but this not I'm I'm concerned because it shouldn't be a secret kind of thing and I think that's a good angle but a Also like I don't what what does she wanted like. Why is she trying to either? They do like her. They don't she needs to know that if she wants to hang out With seemingly older guys that she needs to act more mature in that sense and so it's one of those things it's just like you don't get to. She's just that's that's where I'm uncomfortable uncomfortable. 'cause what you're you're painting a picture of a girl Who is maybe a little Not as mature emotionally as maybe some of her peers and and that's fine and that person shouldn't be hanging out with older guys because it must be very confusing. Nt Rochelle's point. Maybe these guys are good at targeting targeting. People like your friends who are not able to do that because there might be twenty three twenty year old women who are like very mature. I've been you know like a guy says that shit and they're like that's fucking weird and they and they're they're not afraid that guy so you're in the tough spotted of doing that so you just have to try to make her see this And and part of it is don't make her feel judged watched. I don't know that's that's all I can say is. It tried to try to make her. You know mention it suggest it without making her feel. I've been there. You know you relate it if you maybe you didn't it'd be like I had this situation once where I felt like this guy did this to me and I realize and I wonder if that might be going on your clearly a babe who wouldn't want of course he likes you. Who wouldn't like you but you know I'm like why is it a secret? Yeah you know. Don't get yourself in a situation where other people you know kind of like that. I mean it's a tough situation. Yeah shot her hand shower her with love and support trying to make her feel judged and just keep giving her examples and and help or ask the right questions to these guys and reach out. If you need more support you know moving forward. Thank you all right. Well thanks for calling. I've I've learned something about this grooming thing uh-huh yeah screw. Thank you take care. How's it going good? How are you good? What's your name? I am Abigail and I'm twenty eight twenty at. How can we hope okay so I sent in a novel so I'm just GonNa give like the high point? Thank you make sure that if you leave thing anything Sir let us know. Yeah okay so I grew up in a really bad had home. Situation and didn't have a lot of support Just because I was always super quiet about it like never told anybody it was always like kind of forced or scared into not saying anything And in high school I did have one really close guy friends who to didn't know like everything that was going on but knew enough. Where like it was just a really safe? He was a really safe place for me like a really comfortable person person For me to talk to and he helped me through a lot of stuff we never dated Never like hooked up or anything like that There was always. I feel like you had feelings to me but I had dated has friend So I knew I was off limits and like Gribben a really small community and things like that so it just would have been weird if we had dated so If I fast forward to college like we went to different colleges I met my now husband freshman year And there is a little period though where we were both single single and kind of separated from high school so in the midst of college actually before I met my husband I got in a really bad like abusive relationship and there was one night we had made plans to Meet up the next day and our hometown and he did But the night before I had been assaulted by this person. so basically. I'm really looking forward to this trip home because I'm like okay. I'm GONNA see like my best friend like everything's GONNA be fine. He's going to continue to be my safe place. And that day that we met He basically professed his love for me which was really like not received. Well by me at all I said a lot of things that I regretted And basically it was just in this place of like. Can I be anything that isn't sexual like to anyone. Can I just have someone that just face. Yeah so oh really really big fight like said things I regret left him on the side of the road like we were on our way to breakfast like it was just bad like get away. Oh you're in a terrible place. Yeah Brig fluently So we eventually like Kinda act like it never happened I went on dating my now husband and he and I stayed like Kinda superficially close I went to a couple of days. Parties Hardee's At his university we kept up over breaks and then he started dating somebody And it was great like we hung out as couples and everything And just really normal but like never really brought up what had happened Between us so I started going through therapy recently not recently for a couple of years And he's come up a lot like if somebody who I think. I feel a lot go for the way that I've handled handled things and then also just somebody that I've kind of realized like I don't WanNa has this superficial relationship with him. I don't have any relationship with with any of my family. And he's kind of like the closest thing to me that I can still kind of hold onto from like childhood high school. But you're worried married right. Yes yeah yes So I did. I brought it up with my husband and I was like I think I'm GonNa call you know so and so and you know basically kind of let him know basically what was going on when we were friends and apologize for for that really. Bad Conversation So I did and it was a really good conversation. We talked for like four hours and and I think I think just getting all of that out in the open and we had decided in that conversation that like once a month or whenever we can like like just call each other on our lunch break and kind of like catch up and decide to be more active friends if that makes sense So we did that a few times and everything was going great It was good to catch up and I was really enjoying like hearing more about his marriage. And you know he's thinking about having kids and stuff like yeah he's married now yes Until a few weeks ago He texted me at like two. Am Emma on a Saturday night three times in a row saying I want. Just the you know mad And I woke up like Sunday morning and I wasn't my phone and I instantly knew that our friendship over I I I just had this feeling in my gut and then like Sir Shit like his wife saw Roy And we had to have this conversation and it turns out. We kind of like decompressed that next Monday during our lunch break and he was like well she's always like had an issue with you anyway which was news to me? I had absolutely no idea That she even knew that he liked me at one point like I feel like we were so sure I never told anybody about that So yeah so that's my my thing is I'm kind of I feel like I know the answer to this dilemma in my mind. It's like you just don't mess for somebody else's marriage and I said if I've lost with her then I've lost with you like I'm not going to fight for something that like isn't in my in like it's not my marriage it's not like she's not okay with me. I'M NOT GONNA first of all go behind her back and talk to you And I've kind of gotten gotten to the point where like I just don't think we can be friends like at all like I don't think there's the world now that yeah I mean says that your overall question whether Dwyer agree with the fact that I don't you don't think you guys can be friends anymore or or not. I guess I'm I'm just wondering if there's a different angle I could be looking at it like and I. I think I'm just surprised that the extent to which this is affected me Just like when it comes to resilience and like brushing things off and dealing with things like I. Hi can deal with pretty much anything at this point but this is really this has really gotten to me. I mean listen. It's hard for me to relate relate in any way Some of the things that you shared I mean I i. I didn't have a troubled childhood like you have and I. I wasn't assaulted in any way and I. I still have great relationships with my parents and I should. I have ten siblings so important to me. So the only thing I can relate in the sense says that when you express the fact that what he was to you as a connection to this childhood and like the like the one bright spot of of your past passed. I can try to appreciate that because of how important it is to me right and so I can totally get why you are trying to hang onto that friendship but unfortunately yeah. You're probably right is that it still doesn't change the fact that he has these feelings for you And it sucks. said he is married now and it sucks that his wife has to deal with this And then he probably wasn't totally honest with her about his feelings for you He was probably trying to mass. That and you know He. I'm sure he has his version right his story about this girl. He was in love with who he tried to be friends with and couldn't and then and then shot his shot and got tragically shut down and then and then you call up apologizing for it and he probably accepted it for what it was at the time is. Hey I'm sorry Ryan treated you but we. We can't help who you love sometimes in how we feelings foreign and he gets drunk and you know what I'm saying so it just fortunately sounds like a bummer situation situation right and you try your best to make it work. Even though deep down it never really had a shot you know and giving your or situation. I understand your motivation. I mean if it was someone else. Let's say you called up and told me the story and you're like yeah you know. He's just a guy been friends with and you you know I had a good childhood and all these things I would feel like it. You GotTa let shit go you know but for you I listen I. I literally can't relate to this this desire of wanting to hang on him for that Una but unfortunately yes I it. It seems like you have exhausted. Did all your options and the reality is he is not your friend. I mean he cares about you as a friend does and he obviously loves you. You and you are married to someone else. And he's married and more importantly forgetting about his marriage because that's not your responsibility. Yeah you don't want you don't think of him that way and unfortunately that's how he thinks of you and so I just kind of have to accept that at and hopefully you have in your life now in your husband your marriage and it will be enough and I understand that. That's sad that you have to say goodbye to that but just I mean if there's a silver lining he does love you. This guy cares about you and while you may not be able to having your life and have them in in a way that you hope to have him as a friend to the this is. It's there's nothing it's just it's kind of one of those kind of beautiful sad love stories. That just didn't work out but still cares about you. He he's really wants the best for you. He's having a hard time expressing it. I feel bad for him because he loves his wife but he just never really you know he cares. Cares about you and and unfortunately you don't feel the same way and sometimes that happens and but yeah. I'm kind of to this place where and I was talking to my. I was talking to my husband about this. And he feels like it's just kind of the fact that regardless us even if even if he hadn't like texted me or something almost that there is no way I ever could have been in life again just because I was like a reminder finder of something that didn't like happen for him or even for her like I think her knowing that I was the girl that like he wanted but didn't get and that's the thing too. It's just like that's and that's the thing too. It's it's entirely possible. Because does he had these feelings for you. Certainly at one point didn't get you and and again he can easily be very much in love with his life wife but then like they have a bad month they get in in a fight and then they're so easy to like. You know reminisce about you and maybe because seamy most time seemingly guys most times our friends you become these the friends. What are their friends? Do they event to each other and sometimes they share their frustrations about the relationships seeming. If it's the opposite sex now you're so understanding you you know unfortunately like any relationship. It's so much easier to get mad at your spouse. You see them all the time you get sick of on the actually the one person rate. You won't get advice. I mean tell people give you the same advice and it sounds great and your husband says look. You're a fucking idiot. What I'm saying so partly because because deep down he has these feelings? It's just he. You're not his platonic friend. He'll never actually see you that way and it's just yeah. I think you just have to try. Try to say goodbye to that. And I'm sorry because I know that's going to feel a loss on your part and and it's not going to be easy but again. Maybe maybe there's a silver lining of saying you're you're at least being the strong one here in the sense that you know for your marriage and you know that he wishes he he could have you in his life. But like you said you just can't allow that for his sake and for his marriages sake And maybe there's a fact that you you are the strong one in this relationship ensure that may that might be empowering. I don't know I'm spitballing here. But so mike what. You don't think 'cause I've gone back trying to like what What could I have done to make this better? And I I keep going back to the point of like could I have. Maybe if she knew more about me and knew like 'cause like I said I've not nothing. No you did nothing wrong. You kinda wondering if I should have asked though if I should after commission commission said hey is it. Okay if I like talk here I mean not here no meaning so now ultimately you're not it's not your marriage to protect the. I mean you didn't have malicious intentions from what I'm hearing. It'd be one thing if you deep down like wanted to come and like you just lied yours up and I'm saying like you made them. I believe that your intentions were different than they are. And then then that's not okay but you didn't have these feelings for him and you were hoping and maybe you know like maybe you were lying yourself deep down always knowing you felt that way like but fine. Whatever like that's still not your responsibility I think you just need to accept except that you know and I don't think you should feel any guilt. You've done nothing wrong. You you tried everything literally everything you even went back and apologize and good for you for doing that and that was probably a really healthy thing that you did. But you've kind of exhausted. Every avenue of salvaging platonic friendship. And unfortunately that's not what what it is and now you now the tough part you is as kind of accepting that and you know in moving forward and and and you know certainly always show show him love in an appropriate way but not in a way that show like not with any kind of friendship or consistency is not confident. I don't think you should trust him with any information. I don't think you should allow yourself to be a person. He confides in certainly about his relationship. Because now you know like now you've really accepted the reality ability and there's no going back so I don't think you've done anything wrong going forward. I think you should just let it go because if you were to say continue to try to be that person and now you now you know that. His wife's not comfortable with it. Now you now you know how he really accept that so now it's not going forward now it's a you know on you to do the right thing. Yeah and I and I am sorry that you are going to lose a friend in in these probably something special to you and and and that sucks but I just want Jadu awed you for you and coming through and you have a beautiful family now and just good for you. That's tough it's only. Don't feel any guilt and you don't not have any responsibility to do anything that you you have you know good for you like it. Sounds like you have a understanding husband. WHO's been willing to talk through with this with you? Not every husband. Martin might do that. They might get immediately jealous and frustrated so it sounds like that's that's great and keep you protect that and that's that's great and maybe just thank your husband for being patient and understanding assuming that he is you know that you're a No I think it's just being sure told you know what I mean. I think I think it's just like I don't know I think it's just a matter of like knowing how much I don't know I think I'm just clearly very fiercely protective of it. We have any way that and he's secure here and that and that's really special and a lot of people I love that I guarantee is a lot of people listening like. Oh God I wish I had a husband talked like I could. I could trust to talk about these things. Yeah and so. That's that's that's you know. It sounds like you've overcome a lot to have this relationship not a lot of people who have gone through what you've gone through and and and been able to have a very healthy communication nation with their husband or wife so there's a therapy man. That's good for you for doing that in sharing. Don't don't feel any feeling any guilt about this. You've done. It's not your job you can't you. Marriages are hard enough. You're doing enough to protect yours. You don't need to protect his. That is on him and he needs to accept that move on so I shouldn't write her an apology. No no no no no okay. That's that's it's their journey. You've done nothing wrong. I know you have nothing to be. Sorry for okay. Well thank you thank you you. Yeah all right great here to buy this might sound cheesy but It reminds me of love. Actually I love the movie love. Actually where the friends in love with cure tonight and then he comes and he says to me your last thing and then he goes on in the movie. It's like oh that's so sweet. But kinda Dick fucking move terrible fucking front. You wanted to tell I get it. I understand the room when you break down. I fuck you do. He couldn't help it. He loved Sir. Well still not okay. How's it going hi? Hi what's your name. My name's Aaron Aaron. I'm twenty three years old and twenty three. How can we hope so I sent sense you guys a email and so my situation is the I have been dating somebody who is not from where I'm from? I'm from a major intercity. And he's from the middle of the country really small towns farmer type of background like family was and so he moved here are and originally he. He came here for work. It was a better opportunity for him but he hates it. Like to the extreme the the noise bothers him. The people everything about it is not for him and so we hit it off really. Oh really quickly and now looks like we can't be together because he's just so unhappy here that it's going to be very very hard for him to be with anyone here and even today there's like an update from the email I sent you. which was that? I told him that he you should go home because it's obvious that he's so unhappy here. It's not worth it. Oh no when you said that too. Did you really mean mean that or were you almost like a reverse psychology. You should go then. No I meant like you're not happy you got what's GonNa make you happy and that like it hurts to say that but I mean I have gone on so many days of my life so many and I have never clicked with anyone so it was really shocking to me. Somebody that you click with and then the reason why you can't really be together just because he's miserable all year and you lost email. She lost her virginity to him yet. Another layer layer. How long has he lived there? A couple months like five four not a long time not a long time. She's an extrovert. He's an introvert. She said he likes to be very quiet. Play Video Games and be in the woods by himself I don't want you to feel might have been a little preemptive review to tell him he should move. He's only been there for a few months. It takes people. I don't don't care if you go from one. Major city to another every city is different situations different. It takes people sometimes. There's a good long time to acclimate. I'm not saying he's an eventually love living there but obviously really like them. You've Lost Virginia with this guy. You've you've are emotionally invested you've expressed that you feel like you've dated a ton and having kicked as the first person you connected with you have a lot invested. And you really like them. And you're really bummed out that right now. It seems like something so simple is not allowing you to a move to move forward but I wou I wonder if sometime. I wonder if indirectly you're kind of adding to this pressure that he has because again it's it's been less than six months from living there. I mean how does how can you. How many friends does he have their? Then you gotTa have some family but this family is moving back definitely gonNA make it harder. Sure but and how old is he young man in a new city. Take some time you know if if I were his friend and he came to me and said regardless of you. Let's say you didn't exist in his life he's like. I'm just really not liking it. I'd be like give it a year at least you've actually given that advice to a lot of people haven't you even if you are visible for a little bit. That's fine live in a city. You're miserable for. It's a good learning experience. This is nothing wrong. Take some risk you know. It's not gonna be necessarily easy especially if he's thinking of just moving back to where he's from he may end up doing that. Like some people aren't meant for a big city and there's nothing wrong with that some people want that but there's a difference between saying that and and the first time of your life you take a real big risk and you change your whole world and environment ear. You'RE NOT GONNA fall in love with it immediately. It's just going to be hard. It's going to be difficult that you're gonNA get sad and you're gonNA lonely and you're gonNA owe. Who are these weird people? Why is it like this and why ever? Why do people talk click this? Why do people like it's an adjustment you know so? I don't think you should be telling him to move right now. He he also had said like many times he wants to go home and like I'm sure he is. I doubt it but with the holidays as just happened and unfortunately it lets you also probably not the person who should tell them to stay. Because you like you're totally biased. You know so I I mean you can tell them to stay but like he. If again if I were his friend our our older brother or I would or coworker. I would say you owe it to yourself. You have nothing to lose by sticking it out making this work because if the worst thing that happens happens you last six more months. You still don't like it. You can still always go back you know and even if you don't love this city you're GonNa you're GonNa have experiences experiences that you'll remember the name of their experiences that he doesn't necessarily have the best time they're still going to be life experiences and there's nothing negative about that so that's just like life advice. I'd give this totally strange guy. As far as you're concerned I mean you know. I'm sorry that sucks. You know you love a guy. His excited about him you lost virginity to him. You're going to have your disguise will always be in your life in a as a memory of nothing else. You Lost Your Virginia. Take that special you know. And and that's if if he does move back if it doesn't work out even know you feel like you've gone out on a million dates and he's the first person and you might have to go on a million more to find another person. You're still only twenty three. You know this is the time of your life that that you're GonNa get you'RE GONNA be glad at some point in your life whenever you meet your guy and even if it's him you're going to be glad at some point that you win on all those dates you are. You'RE GONNA be glad that you have these stories to tell you're going to be glad that you have these memories of bad dates in Weird dudes and stories. You got to have with your friends. You're going to be happy. You have them and they're gonNa be fun and then when you like are older and someone's tell me about at a time in your life in this happy you're going to have things to say you know and so you know it's not feeling that right now because you're sad and bummed and I get why I think part of the warriors that he's been in really bad mood within the last couple like within the last since basically basically Christmas it seemed like something switched of him being really unhappy to be here she was different level. Where you anything more? Because I mean he's happy he's in a Rut. I mean again minus you know not having access to him and he's not even asking for advice but You can pull away a little bit and say listen. You know how I feel about you. I really like you I want you. But but and the reason why said move is because I do I care about you so much. I just want you to be happy. Even if it's not with me kind of thing but you know you could even say advice. I got from someone like just once. You just just stick it out and I'm around. If you WANNA hang out you know but let's try to do some things you know. We're what you don't want to do right if you do hang out with them. And he's grumpy in a bad bad mood. Don't keep pointing out that. He's in a bad mood. You know if it's going to make you frustrated and I get why would God do. You're looking really just get the fuck you know fucking get out of it You know that's only going to make it worse. So just how he needs a support system and he's probably just feeling lonely and discouraged you know how's the job going for him. He liked the actual job. There and I heard stories and they're like like I've never seen anything like it is giving like where I'm from like a really bad because devil. Where's what's Apple? And what's the industry that he's working in. He worked in like a hostile and so it's a lot of people in the medical field that are maybe not that happy that they chose that seals. And they're just like really what's he doing residency. Yeah he can't leave then can you. Can you leave residency not not readiness. Sorry like a like a pack is like a surgical tech a medical tech ultrasound or X.. Ray So in theory he could get a job at a different hospital. I spoke to her about this because I know people at another major Hoffa's yeah yeah and he. He doesn't want to do because he's just like it's still does area and it's still like going to be the same thing sure. Yeah I mean I try and even if I wasn't with him and I were to end it hypothetically I said I want you to be happy here like I want you to like to help you. Let's say I'm not going to hold back but the reality is is maybe maybe a big cities not for him. You know. You can't necessarily change that. I don't think he really knows that answer. Because now he's combining a new city that's not necessarily his speed with an entire work environment that's toxic and he's not having fun. There's no way he would like it you know. But there's he he's not he's not getting an objective picture of of what this experience could be for him. You know so minus your relationship with him again I would just as a friend encouraged him it. Just say listen. What's the worst thing you know you? Don't you know you don't like these people and how they treat you regardless regardless if you were back at your hometown or you stay here. That environment wouldn't be something you'd WanNa stick in we can. We agree on that. You'd be like yeah so like what's the worst thing that could happen if you just give it one more more shot and maybe you might grow on you and maybe not Especially if the reasoning moved out here is because there's better opportunities and he came out so you know is he really willing to quit this easily in less than a year on something you know like if he gives another job and it still doesn't work out you can always is moved then so like the the downside of staying is there's not much and there's a big upside of maybe he just. There's been a lot of people in his situation of stuck it out and been really glad they did a lot of people who you know as a twenty four royal man the young man. He's GonNa move back and it's Kinda like votes. He can always go home and play video games and stay inside. You know so. Try to try if you can to be more of a friend than a girlfriend to him right now and trying to take the pressure off when you get frustrated at Ham try not to express that to him right now you know express it to your friends or give us a call or something a Because you know. Don't make them feel pressure about it or guilt and does that make sense. He's lacking from friends here and he's lacking support system and I can only assume that when he's getting support from you worried if it's even objective you know he needs to stick it out for at least a year so tell him that you know. Just say hey listen. I'm told you to move but like I just you just you never know so just try. Hi What's the worst thing that can happen in a year move back. That's all. We have good experience and if nothing else he needs from a resume standpoint. He doesn't WanNA quit something in six months but it does decide to say you should say make them make the most of of it you know. Don't don't Poo Poo. Don't be like stay but it's going to suck positive mental attitude. You know you create make make the most of it all right. Thanks for calling. I really Shaka all right. We'll take care. Thank you bye-bye how's it going I'm good I'm Shannon. Four twenty four. How can we hope well? Actually this past weekend I sort of lost one of my guy friends We have been very distant for the past month He hasn't really been he usually like tax me. Or whatever and calls me or whatever 'cause we live forty five minutes away and so I don't really see him that much except in the summer But anyway he he's just been really distant with me and I will finally like I. I've been expressing concerns about it. I literally blatantly Austin. Okay okay our friendships dylan a priority and I don't know this. These are just one of the Times where I was just like all right do you you still care about me or whatever. does not what I actually said but I anyway he replied back and it was just like I'm with my girlfriend. Is this emergency and frankly it really hurt coach and Per The reason why I decided it was best if I I'm not friends with him again. John is because I did like him like last year and I think I did a little bit into the summer and I knew that if if I was friends with him For one or it would affect my emotional health because of that and to I knew I would think the girl and be like okay. What does she have it? I don't you know and I if anything. I just want advice on how to deal with a problem like this because I'm I'm to the point where I feel like I'm too afraid to have a guy friend now. Well my you don't you'd never did you know you like That's fine and then you kept trying to come up with all these scenarios and then tell yourself why used to like but now I don our friends you know but the truth does he disliked him the whole time. You know So you know it. It's you just need to be careful in the future not not to do this again. And what I mean by again is not to convince yourself that you're friends with a guy who ultimately like right and so If you meet a guy and you enjoy his company you need to be yourself vulnerable with yourself to admit dwelling him or not right because what people do you guys do it into is that it's easier and safer to just act like a friend with someone that you have an attraction to physical attraction to and you don't really you have to rescue anything because we're just going to hang out we're GONNA be friends you know and then you tell yourself you're just friends and then maybe you have this period where you admit yourself you like them but that you have to not do that again. You know because there's no risk and being friends with the guy with the guy if you are in fact just friends you know and you will know when that's true because you really would like the idea of you guys dating you'll be like Oh God no please I hope I hope they don't like me because I'll feel real you know that's when you know that you are to them because you're really hoping they never be like I love you like what no you know because you are just friends it would be the same thing as you know you're attracted to men you're not attracted to women right. I mean that's fine. If you are so imagine one of your female friends would say I love you. You'd be like Oh we're just friends you know. I'm not an attracted you that way. You should think of it the same way. You know a guy friend even though if you're attracted to guys if he's just a friend is just that a tonic friend. That's like a brother. So just you gotta it'd be careful be honest with honest with yourself and not convince yourself. You're just friends because it's easier to accept and you're afraid of being vulnerable. And you're afraid of emitting to yourself that you like someone that might not like you back. You know that's scary scary to even do it to yourself you know. It's scary to admit to someone that you liked them and then and get rejected but even to yourself to say I really liked them. But I don't think they're gonNA like me. You know we do that a lot sometimes. So yeah I'm going to be honest already knows that I like ten. I still do but I was wondering that myself l. So I guess that's also why I feel weird about it so weird. What do you mean by weird? Uh by weird I mean I know it's doable. But I think it's just what's doable to have have a have a friend that's a guy who's dating someone. Yeah it's doable. But this is not not him. It's not doable with him. Because you don't want it to be your a friend so what you need to do is stop pretending and telling yourself convince yourself that you can be as friend. It is totally okay with admitting yourself that you like him and then you like. You're you're making things way too complicated for yourself and your take on this burden of like you don't have to ensure or you have other friends. He's a he's a guy you liked you know and that's why you got so close with them but you're kind of being dishonest with yourself about the friendship. It's not a friendship Byu you like him and that's okay and I'm sorry he has a girlfriend and maybe he doesn't feel the same way but someone else. Well you know but what you don't want to do. Is that like he's going to you know 'cause he probably likes you as a friend right but he also has a girlfriend. He doesn't think of you the same way that he has his girlfriend. So he'll oh totally be open to the idea of you being okay and being cool with the girlfriend and being a Frat but on his terms right so then what you like. A lot of people in your position often have a habit of doing as being like okay. Well then I can. I do this. I'll do this and then you lie to yourself about your ability to be the type of friend that he is okay. Okay with having even though you're not because you like them and you want him to make you a priority like when you said like am I. Is Our friendship still a priority. You're not meeting in friendship. You mean am I a priority for you the same way you would want to be. Have you know the same way you would want a boyfriend to make you a priority and so you're kind of making confusing for yourself and confusing for him because in fairness like how many friends have you gone to and said I am. I still a priority for you. You know that should come naturally with friends friends but where the guy you liked didn't hear like you kind of use the friendship as an excuse to demand more from him you know. Does that make sense. Yeah I think you're just a little bombed and that's okay because you like. Yeah you're bummed happen. It's a grieving process. When you say you lost your friend and you Kinda the feel like you've got broken up with? I'm assuming when he was like. Hey I'm with my girlfriend. Are you busy now. That really probably hurt and it really hurt. Aw Start admitting that to yourself. There's okay a lot of people are in your shoes in you. You're hurting get your heart broke a little bit and you didn't lose a friend friend. You lost a potential lover. Kind of you know. Boy You have a crush on someone you have connected with you fell and you you know. Half of a relationship is is the emotional connection that friends have you know so you had half of a relationship with a guy. You didn't have the other part. He was never your boyfriend but there is a grieving process. Because you still lost that part but don't confuse it as a platonic friendship and don't lie to yourself and stop trying to make this friendship work. You're torturing in yourself and don't and the future invest too much of yourself into someone who doesn't like you back the same way but to do that. You have to admit to yourself that you like them. Yeah you have you stop pretending. You don't know. People always have a way of admitting I use them but if I now I'm fine we're friends now. Well the only reason why I I have I think that I didn't really like I'm with because they're having time for half an hour them then like yeah. Yeah I'm not attracted to him. You know what I mean but then there's times I think I was I think it was kind of like the idea. India dating him and that was problem. I guess Mike I get listen this Kim Ball I get why it can all be very confusing and make sense that there are days where you do the days of the year down but the point is what he clearly wasn't is a platonic friend. You didn't have interest in end because you weren't sure if he reciprocate the same feelings it is natural for you almost like internally. Try to convince yourself. You don't. I don't know if I really like become you do. I'm telling you that you really do and just imagine imagine not to torture yourself but imagine how it would make you feel if he called you up today and said I love you can be together a really wanna be with you a real just want to spend all my time with you. All I WANNA do is make you the biggest priority ever imagine. Imagine how good that would make you feel now. Don't do that to torture yourself but do that to acknowledge your feelings for him and know that you can't keep hanging out with them in these false pretenses of friendship because that's just going to be torture and I'll say someone in my thirties. You can be friends with men and friends with men who have wise and who have girlfriends. It's totally possible. And you can love them and they can love you. But you are very clear that there's I'm not interested romantically weekly in them at all. Same for me and the flip side of the situation I just share with you. The idea of him professing his love for you would almost be like. Oh my God please it. Would it would give you hives. So it's very black and white. It's one of the two either gives you butterflies or gives you hives it all and it's real simple to imagine. What would your reaction would be? You know. There's no gray area. And then some days they do some days you don't you know and I think in your case it's this year really liked him. You know which is why such a bummer. Sorry you know I just. I don't think I can be with him because of that reason exactly so. Don't torture torture yourself. Position have this habit of we just talked to someone figuring out how I could be with them. And then you'll torture yourself because he'll be friends with you he will then one day you'll wake up at two. Am and I've had guy friends have these types of women in their lives for years and there's a little hook up in between but they're they're only available. You know when so that could happen. You know if you let it happen. He'll let it happen and in some cases not just on him because again he's like we're friends you know so. I think you should walk away. This is a break-up for you and treat it like that you know Stop calling him your friend. And you know mourn you're allowed to mourn you're allowed to be sad you're allowed you're allowed to feel vulnerable and even angry you know but some of that you know but you only make it worse when you pretend that he's a buddy you know you ain't you. There's no reason feel foolish. Sometimes in these cases you feel dumb and you're like Oh. I shouldn't have done that or what. It's fine it's over now you know. Yeah but next next time next boy. You meet if the similar thing happens because you're going to have a pattern. Just admit your if you like them and see if he likes you back and if he does great right and if he doesn't online don't be friend there's no consolation prize with being friends with guys that you have a crush on you know and for some reason we seem to do this. Well you know we can be friends. Okay they're not you'RE NOT GONNA change their mind later. It's not an end. Yeah men do it too. I am so the I think you just need to be honest with yourself and accept it and even if it makes you a little sad in the short term you'll be better off in the long term. Thanks so much for calling in. Hopefully that was helpful. You're going to be okay. I know it's just probably just dumped a lot of truth on you and you know but it's GonNa be it's GonNa be. You're not the first person who have gone through this so yeah no actually journal. The exception not the rule. I know I know I know but she did that. Okay Take Care All right thank you actually are so the exception the tactic she took become his best friend different though. No it's different because jared was it's different I know but that's that's not what's going good thing to do also but She was adorable so door classic classic case this one on one end went on the other. He is not your friend and that's the thing though I'm and I bet she's nice and always there for for have very accommodating and yeah it's a slippery slope of him and he knows probably down. Yeah you know well. She told him she had feelings for him. Yeah and then. She's like an open. I don't let's be friends and then right. Yeah it's I don't really like him. I used to like them. I don't oh now but it's going to be his friend but I'm really really hurt but really hurt and I wanNA know why you're not making us a priority jennings hardly relationships well another episode another fun episode What did we learn heavy EPA? There's heavy we learned about grooming until out from that cops. Yeah me too but good conversations to have trust your friends. Yeah be there for your friends so important anything else. No thanks so much for everyone for again being vulnerable and opening up thanks for your questions. we will see you back tomorrow for a another recap of the bachelor and then join us on our Wednesday today for guests to be determined.

Ladies Love Cool J&J

"Jalen rose. Kofi. Through that we do, we give people. What they saw. General's joining us today on the. Other. Than L. L. Cool J, the founder and CEO of Rock, the bells legend in the game. Thank you so much during the show today. Absolutely my pleasant. So the first one knows about rock, the bells brand and higher expanding it in this movement started. A rock the bells is a modern media platform that that we've created, and it's basically for generics classic hip hop fans. Have you know for so many years? You know a lot of Jenex fans who love classic at Thomas Hip hop weren't getting a chance to really be able. They didn't have the chance to really dive into. The culture in touch the artists they love heater music. They love explode a culture that way they really want to, so I create blackwell on the differences that this platform not only did I. Get Great Strategic Investors, but I made other members of the community owners run DMC has ownership Roxanne's shot tape begetting kanus ownership You know you know so many different people fab five. Freddy has ownership. It's salt and pepper has ownership. I just wanted to make sure that that we not only did something phenomenal for the community that was black own really gave the classic hip hop. Culture and opportunity to own something that they built for the first time. Because for so many years you had all these mega trillionaires corporations. They were the ones that always benefitting off the culture so now when you go to rock the bells. Dot Com not only. Can you go to the commerce hub in by, but all kinds of products, anything associated with hip hop whether it's a direct, you know extensive for your half, not only. Can you do that, but you can. You can go there and read about big daddy. Kane read about cool her. In read about where hip hop culture started from really learn about the culture as a whole, so we're just controlling the narrative you know. History is written by the winners and I wanted to do something great for the community and great for the culture, and that's what it is. You know what I mean. Ladies Love Cool J, so bubba Wallace shows up at work and he's a nascar driver, and he just has a new in his personal area. Do. You feel like NASCAR should do about their racism issue. You know you know. Hey, look. Racism isn't only organizational. It's it's really an it's not only institution was really in hearts and minds of racist rights, so they're gonNA just really have to weed out. You know those those those racist people as these things come up as people make comments. They're going to have to decide who they want to be in business. And you know at the end of the day. He made a statement. It was a positive statement and he shouldn't have to. You know. Go to work and find a noose. In his car or a noose. Near his property i. mean this is just you know systemic racism? You know an institutional racism in general starts in the hearts of. It's not like. You can't point to a building. Say The buildings racist. It's people you know what I'm saying. This the individual, so we really have to take a look at it and I think that we have to take a stronger look at implicit bias because I think that there are a lot of people who may not consider themselves. Racist tolerate certain things that they should, but it's good what I will say on the positive side is is good to see People of all ethnicities on the right side of history now really. Putting. Themselves on a line of stepping up and saying you know what we're not into that anymore. We recognize we see and we're not winning anymore. We're GONNA stop. I mean this is not a sprint marathon. It's a lifetime commitment to fighting social injustice in sort of undoing, the systemic racism and it's GonNa. Take from everybody including NBA players now there's debate of from MBA players. Should we go into the Orlando Bubble and play basketball that might distract from this movement that might be that might not actually help. Movement might hurt it or do we use that attention that will be honest as a platform to help the movement. which which way do you think the NBA player should go? I. Think it really depends on how they would use the platform right It really depends on how to use a platform I think that's ultimately. What it's about because. This is a really important time, and this is a time where history is on the line. you know if you look we look at history and we take somebody like Muhammad Ali a lot of his greatest social work was done when he was which was one of the big travesties, when he was stripped of his title, stripped of his belt, and wasn't boxing right that's when he made a really huge social impact so looking at history. There's something to be said for the. The idea of not playing and focusing on the social injustices that are going on from a precedent standpoint. You know when you look at how Ali made impact. Now that being said there are I'm sure some players who need to feed their families. Everybody's not in the same financial position and doesn't have the same luxury of laying back, so you have to take that into consideration as well so. You know I think that plays. Association really has to take a hard look at it. Do they want some of the players to play? And not all of them do they want to? Give out some stipends. Do they want to? Just you know? Is it time to just sacrifice? You know what I mean. Because real people around around the country. This suffering real they don't. Have you know these salaries they don't have all the luxuries of you know. Maybe I'll go to work and make a million bucks. You'd like suffering. You got people living in projects. You know what I'm saying like. It's tough, so. I would say that the focus needs to stay on the movement. But I, do understand. There is something to be said for using your platform. To move forward, but I would say you gotta focus on the movement right now to movement is what's important because two three hundred years from now we're going to be remembered for how we address this woman and how we deal with this moment NAFTA. How many points you school? Absolutely, not the season vet and activists, a philanthropist and actor entrepreneur. Can you talk to our audience about the power of the dollar I saw a stat that it stays in our community for six hours, and you just acknowledged. Some of the players will need to go play because they need to feed their families so in other words. If money wasn't an issue, you take that power and use the platform the way you see fit. Can you talk about how changes now happening because black voices have now realized the importance and the power of the black dollar. Jalen. Let me tell you. The whole the whole reason I started rock the bells dot com. Mean this stele is about. Empowering people. It's about building something for the future. It's about giving the people who built the culture and opportunity to participate in capturing value. So many. So economic empowerment is absolutely key and a lot of A. Lot of times, it's not about. Making ZILLION dollars, it's about not lead living above your means. It's about you know not seeing how many diamond change you could buy how many cars you can have? It's about kind of keeping life's simple, but economic power is super super duper important I mean generation, X. I'm from what I understand just in general has about two point four trillion dollars in buying power a certain. Black and Brown. Women I mean did look. We have to support our own. You know what I mean to not you go to check out a big three basketball game is a travesty to not go in support going rocket bills dot, com and byproducts is a travesty. We have to support our own, and we have to be economically empowered, and that comes from just keeping the money in letting his circulate. Now you I am not. This is not about being excluding people, I think debt. You know I think black people in general. We want to participate in capitalism in America and be part of. What's on in America? We just say don't Push Zach. We're not saying that nobody else can be. -cluded A. WE WANT to be included as well, and it's not only about having a seat at the table. Having your own say you know what I'm saying so I would just encourage people to to participate to support our own. Yes, you could still win not. Do Anything to say. You can't buy anything from anyone else Wassim. Let's. Let's go to these black businesses. Let's go from the black restaurants by some of their stuff. Why from black told the line spend your money with them? We don't have a problem with all in a high end. You know companies out there. You know it is what it is, but let's support each other as well and I think that will make the country I think. The black community and Brown community. If we really support our own, it'll only be better for the entire country. You know what I'm saying. It makes the country better a better narrative for the country as a whole. That is so well said, and we appreciate you joining the television, show. We have exclusive content with ll Cool J. on our podcast. Make sure you subscribe to that. So we only two people kind of come to mind, and I know they're both from New York, and I know you love both of these guys, but one of them is Busta rhyme and the other Jay Z. Those are the people that come to mind for me, l., what are your thoughts? I mean listen I. You know I don't know if it's something to figure out you know what I mean. You know if they WANNA. Have Fun, you know. Thing. I don't know I don't know I'd have to think about that. I you know you never know it's interesting. Because all way, way way. Oh how y'all hold on, wait. Wait, wait this guy. Wait. A minute has crushed some legendary emcees in battles, okay. I know a lot of guys right now. C. L.. L. Getting Awards, and you'll see the platinum plaques up there. You'll see him acting TV acting in movies, but he had destroy some careers battling. So? I know you've thought about this I know. Some people up. So who have you sized up yet? I'm not I'M NOT GONNA. Say it because because that's GonNa put me out of disadvantaged if they got to call. Ya Totally, open to it is no problem, but if you want it, come get it I'm, not gonNA. I will say this is we always act like these are competitions, but really celebrations of the two artists again involved. You know what I mean like. The the culture wins. It's not like it's not after one really also, and so on, and so and so did is a competitive element to. In every celebration, but it's competition you know we. Were House. With. Competition. Could do it. That's all. Bath. Teddy, Riley and his sound one good and I think who else was it Nellie? And somebody's. Got Bad for these guys man, so you got this love. If we GONNA show up, you go correct I. Say Kumo de Battles. Japan abyss regatta. We. Go, he's busy. You know what I mean. He's got life have multiple businesses and television shows and seventeen different careers really. Rock the bells and we really appreciate doing. Thanks for having me. I definitely doing that. Very good question. We're going to see what happens in appreciate you and I just want to remind everybody rock. The Bells Dot Com doping. Thanks me some loop one more thing. You probably did this or rock the bills because I remember being in the middle school talent show, and taking a muscle, bound man and putting his face in the sand, so I went from here in those versus to you doing a very important verse. Freestyle about black lives matter while was so very important to you. Because you know. I just was tossing and turning in bed all night and just got out of the bed. Seven in the morning had to say something This is a time in history when you can't be neutral. You got to choose sides and I decided to say something that I was feeling my spirit, and up for me for my people in for the world and I didn't know that it was going to become the viral thing that it it became you know, get millions and millions of views, and all that I just did it from the heart, and I'm just you know I just believe that we have to choose sides right now, and we have to be on the right side of history, and the pain is too great. You know I don't want to sit around and watch unarmed black man get killed and murdered. By by back by bad police, you know what I'm saying so I just had to do it. Man I felt like. Spirit I was inspired to do it and I did it. I haven't written anything in a long time. And that was just I I felt like a needed to say something I. I you know I didn't WanNa. Talk just to be talking. I literally had something to say and I shared my truth. Thank you so much. Much love I appreciate a lot. Yeah, let's see, thank you I wanNA. Welcome back to Jalen and Jacoby WanNA. Thank ll cool. J. For coming through and encourage you to listen to the podcast. As we always have exclusive content on our podcast, we have some say with L. Kulja. Jalen we have some big news Dak Prescott, it's going to sign a thirty one point four million dollar franchise tender. However, he hasn't tell July fifteenth to work out a long term deal with cowboys. Do you think that signing a tender will hurt his leverage? Engage long term deal done I think it helps his. His leverage, and it furthers the relationship and acknowledging that your negotiating in good faith. I appreciate that I'm GonNa get substantial race. The so I'm going to sign my franchise tag. However, if we don't get a deal done by July fifteenth, you might as well flip over the hour glass. Kirk cousins style three to one. Unless you pay him to be there so very much. He can't turn it down. He's got to be looking to play elsewhere and asked how this plays out if they don't get a deal done. I mean thirty one million dollars is a very good number to play quarterback in the NFL. However, when you only get from one year, you can only get franchise twice. I really WANNA. See the cowboys, and Dak work I long term bill before July fifteenth. Because you know, injuries can happen, and you'd seems like. He's been playing for his next contract for the past three seasons. I don't WanNa see him. Have to do it again, but. But the question is who is he going to do it with Jamal Adams of the jets has a ESPN's Samir that he wants to be traded interesting now. If you don't watch lot jet games, you might not know just how good to mall. Adams is at football. He's one of the best players in the League easily the best player on the jets, but when he was riding around Texas here's interaction that he had with the Fed. Hey. What's outgrown? Coming to Dallas. He's trying to get out Shannon what do you think? I autumn throwback g wagons still so very dope. The other thing is NFL. Players are GonNa Mirror NBA players based on the fact where they get picked a type of organization during a rookie deal, you get drafted by lions or probably the jets see Darius slay for example after year rookie deal. You're trying to bounce in his case. You see where he is. Is trying to roll with the cowboys, they just F- rafted, will it just took care of most of the players tax sign a franchise tender. They're going to be on TV and in every conversation about the NFL, so he's trying to roll with the cowboys star. Sorry jets get a deal. Done Pam this day like the cowboys going to have to do debt. I would love to see Jamal Adams on a big time team. When we come back, we have some more trouble about the NBA bubble. Break that down for you in just two minutes when Jalen and Jacoby reserves. Pink. Corona extra fine. This was never just game. View of us and it's shown us that humanity is greater than anything else that divides us. We're actually living breathing human beings. We have the right to make it known, loud and clear. My patients left my body when I watch George Floyd take last Brett our lives matter. Know. There's a lot going on in the world right now and we're all stuck in quarantine on our phones. We're doing our shopping online i. just saw the at and T. started doing to really helpful things for those who want to buy a new phone or device online. They're offering fast free. You can visit Att Dot Com and learn how to shop online from the safety of your home twenty four seven. Subject to change restrictions apply. Welcome back to Jalen and Jacoby Jalen. It's time for another NBA bubble. Update the latest this as corona case. Corona Cases Spike in Florida the looks ahead to Florida. There is a concern Adam silver voice this weekend about the coronavirus, and the spiking down there and the outbreak Jalen. If you're an NBA player, how hesitant would you beat to commit to this bubble? Idea very hesitant and you heard Lou. Williams say he was fifty fifty. Here's why Jacoby into duality you can't isolate was happening with corona virus versus was happening as it relates to the social unrest. The killing of unarmed black man by law, enforcement or vigilantes, you just can't ignore it, and with a league this over seventy percent black is going to permeate throughout their house homes throughout the communities. So this is not a done deal that all players and teams from every squad is going to end up in each roster's going to be filled with players, enthusiastic and ready to play basketball right now. Well we will hope for the best and prepare for the worst while the NBA themselves can corn the people that work at the hotels, the people that make their food. Those people will be going in and out of the bubble, which could cause a problem I want to thank L. L. Cool J for coming by and everything that he is doing with labels. Love you. Listen to our podcast where we have exclusive content. Jay, coming up next is Dan Libertad in highly questionable. We'll be back you. You're far, too. Generous. I WANNA. Talk more about Dak Prescott. Because on the television portion, we can only talk for so long. I think the Prescott thing is more layered than that. Thirty one million dollars. Seems like a fair number for Dak Prescott, doesn't it? Seems like a fair number for him. Thirty one million dollars is a fair number for anyone to do anything, but it just happens that. He plays football in the NFL in. His peers like Jared Goff and Carson Wentz and Matthew Stafford. Matt Ryan All signed deals with those teams in excess of one, hundred million and. Even though I graduated from high school and college never been a math major I do know a hundred is greater than thirty. Facts. I can't confirm that I can confirm one hundred his crazy. Okay I also. Disconnect? If. I. Want to see this. Get done, and this feels like the Santa having with Ezekiel Elliott. It feels like the exact same thing. Like why are you GonNa? Make us go through this again. Get this deal done because the cab was putting together a nice little roster. Putting together a nice a nice little thing that they have and especially with the addition of CD lamb in the draft I have high hopes for him as well I think the cowboys are easily my favorite in their terrible division, but also could definitely make some noise in the NFC at large now. Jalen I want L. J. for coming on. But who do you think would be the perfect versus? Perfect versus cohort for him to go against because he's not in the conversation is time. I was serious. I think buster or Jay Z. See. I think does a both worthy. Opponents Vegas. Vegas does not have them as a favourite against Jay Z. Vegas does have my favorite against Boston. And also you have to think about the show two different energies you busters, loud and big, and and I think he would put on a better show. Where Jay Z is more laid back and calm, and I feel like bust. I bust. The ll would just have so much energy that it would really be a better show, and he would also win the battle. That's what I'm root for. But if you think about L., els career. He's been able to be a subdued emcee. an unconscious one. He's also always made classic hits. For the ladies and about love and about relationships, and then he just. Turn on a song start to be wrapped the entire time type records where he just delivered bars. So. He's got. He's got more hits than you think L. cousy has more hits than you think, so. He got like going back to Cali then he got songs like I'm bad. Those are two different records. To different pace, he's different temples. Sewn so that that's why I say to artist. I'm bringing something that you said off wax I'm GONNA. Bring it on wax. said the basically, drake is kind of a modern day. L. L. I haven't heard that yet. And I don't think musically. That's necessarily true. You know what I mean because L L was more of a traditional rapper. Then drake is but sort of. The way that they. Speak to women the the way that they've focused their content on romantic relationships and just being like the biggest star in the game. I would say I've never heard that comparison before, but it's a good one. I never give you compliments. Thank you I remember the mid to late eighties and through the nineties. Here's the word used in a sentence from the Denver Post by Jesse Paul. If a teacher organization is found in contempt. L. L. Y.. Dot Com for more <unk> ally bank member F._D._I._C. College Football Jim Harbaugh and in a podcast that was published by the athletic he was asked for his reaction to the retirement of former Ohio state head coach Urban Meyer and one of the things he said was in part quote controversy follows everywhere. He's been end of quote Arbab was asked about those comments Friday big ten media did not know context. You should know about that. I don't think it was anything that was anything new or anything of a bombshell well. It's things that many of you all have understanding of written about. We'll start with you. What's your reaction to her? Comments both on the PODCAST and today in Chicago well that was actually a good answer. I answer because he he's right in that regard but his first answer when he was asked a question should have been relieved. That's what his his answers should have been. I'm relieved because the bottom line is what the passion behind. This sport is fueled well by the fans. Is it not we can talk controversy. All we want tomorrow. Those Michigan fans would trade go get urban Meyer if it meant getting championships in Ann Arbor and every one of them knows whether they want to admit it or not lose. I feel yeah and I totally get where you're coming from. If you can't beat the man on the field then takes outside him verbally. It's just a big game of charades. I'm GonNa Make Y'all forget that I'm AU in four against him on the field and this reminds you know now. Controversy follows the man so I get what harbaugh doing but those Michigan fans they not gonNa forget so do championships. Look the the one thing that's not controversial is the validity of that statement but maybe our show. It's the timing timing of the statement. You just gave up more than sixty points to them the last time you saw him. He's now retired. He can't answer back on the field and now you're saying those comment. You hit the nail on the head. He can't answer back. You better believe harbaugh would not have made those statements. Sophy Urban Meyer one more time but he knows urban meyer has a muzzle over his mouth right now. The man with the MIC has the power yeah but the man with the mic might be hard ball right now but the bottom line is there better be results on the field to all all of this stuff will be brought back up the first time they lose a game this fall with those comments this week controversial or not the comments eventually will blow over but will what will not blow over is harbaugh inability at least to this point to beat Ohio state. He couldn't beat Urban Meyer. He struggled against the League competition since he's been there you see the marks eight and ten against ranked opponents. He's under five hundred against ranked teams wanting nine against top ten teams since he's been in Ann Arbor and our friend colleague and host of College Game Day. REESE DAVIS IS IN CHICAGO FOR BIG Ten media days really appreciate you spending some time with us. I know you chatted with Jim Harbaugh today. What stood out to you about your conversation? The fact that he's able and willing to embrace him changes on offense he recognized that perhaps the best thing to do is to try to play to the strengths of his quarterbacks not just shape patterson but he reference Dylan McCaffrey a couple of times and you know we look back in its history in the N._F._l.. And he's been able to do that when he was coach of the Forty Niners with Colin Kaepernick the one thing that I asked Jim this morning was I think there's been some alarmist thinking among people because they haven't haven't beaten Ohio state. They've had good seasons. They've had three ten win seasons but ask Jim what are the difference between the accomplishments going into year five as opposed to the expectations of where he thought they might be from a football standpoint. You know continued to grow. I I look at one thing. That's we've played a lot of young guys through the years. <hes> I think our first year we played maybe eleven or twelve freshman the next year was like seventeen <hes> and then maybe fourteen the third year the fourth year we played three <hes> so the reinforcements have come and <hes> so you know I feel like <hes> the teams that are really good place right now and you WanNa to make it tighter. You WanNa make it better like the Anaconda. You know you got a good tight grip on it. Now you want to keep squeezing and make it tighter. Make it better interesting. Football live match Schick Tom Loganville. Emmanuel Acho Big Ten media is wrapping up today Friday in Chicago. It's pretty clear the big ten East two-horse race between Ohio State and Michigan. Those are the favorites what is clear is that the big ten west is very unclear. It's anybody's race and the big ten west coaches agree. It's going to be competitive where we think the conference is very strong right now. In the big ten west is getting better every year. There's outstanding coaches that coach in this league specially on both sides of the conference but the the big ten west has gotten better. It's a wide open west. I mean the big ten I mean there are no easy games no matter what no matter what side of the division you're playing. There are no easy games. One thing I've learned in this conferences there are there are zero easy games here. They're all hard no matter who you play and you have to be at your best every single week yeah. I don't care who people are picking. I don't there's a lot of really good teams in our league picture picks guesses. Our guest is ninety percent of the time. You guys are wrong when you guess things so Scott Frost is obviously not tuning in for this portion of college alive. Luke's WHO's your pick. Who's your favorite for the big ten west? I'm going to go back to Wisconsin and I know they've been the darling Arlington the West the last couple of years and they missed opportunities a year ago but I think they're going to be vastly improved at the quarterback position whether it's dot com or exciting to Freshman Brammertz they have the quietest two thousand yard rusher. Maybe in the history three of college football and Jonathan Taylor they're going to have a ton of redshirt junior and redshirt senior leadership that is back defensively. They're going to be a good football team. They do draw Ohio State Michigan and Michigan State out of the East but they get both of them at home. Here's the thing lubes Wisconsin will live by Jonathan Taylor and they will die by Jonathan Taylor but Boy Nebraska. They may have the best offensive playmaker in Martinez in the entire big ten. He's has the most of all the returning players in the Big Ten and Scott Frost else when he was at U._C._F.. In his second season had a plus seven win improvement when you're talking about total number of wins last year Nebraska finished four and two in their last six games and lost those two games by a combined nine points to Ohio State and Iowa I I think this is the year that Nebraska makes that jump and this is exactly why they hired Scott Frost frosting the hype starring medicine arresting the hype about them that has been generated awful before eighteen and listen average thirty six points a game for the last six games of the season and I understand they compete for the West but it's interesting this height machine. That's been generated about Nebraska this off season. I don't I'm not a guy that drinks the Kool. Aid You know me lubes. I'm not a guy that buys into unnecessary hype but when I look at the big ten West it's not truly that competitive I mean northwestern. They lost their quarterback. I do like purdue. I like Rondo more. He was the most exciting freshman non quarterback to me last year but I just don't see. Y Not Nebraska. I was on Scott Frost all last year when they started off but when six but I gotta give praise where praises do I got to give credit where credit's due the schedule does have some tough hiccups. You gotta go to Perdue. GotTa play Wisconsin Obviously Asleep but I think Nebraska will make some noise and you get Ohio state at home. Look Scott Frost going to be a victim of his own success. Take U._C._F.. Winless run the table and now we're in year two here so we we've seen the brochure on Scott Frost <hes> What about making the playoff though according to f._B._I.. FOOTBALL POWER NEXT MICHIGAN IS OBI WAN because they're the big ten's only hope a forty two percent chance Ohio state look at that shade over five percent chance those factors they included new starting quarterback new head coach having having to travel to Ann Arbor Michigan. The big ten's been shut out of the play off each of the last two years the league's coaches recognize. There's an issue. I love our conference. I think I think we do it the right way. Both on and off off the field we compete at a very high level you know but I think obviously when you're left out of the playoffs for two years in a row. I think there needs to be discussions. I think the ninety games are great far fans. It's great for guys from from a competitive standpoint but to me to have a true champion. We have to have the same data points and until we do that you know it's not any different than it was in the B._C._S.. It's just a different name. So is it expansion of the playoff. I think it's inevitable but again for me. It's all the details that come along with that. I just WanNa get our program in in position to be in Indianapolis and then get in that conversation. You heard you heard a couple of solutions there. We'll get to that in just a little bit but Emmanuel does the big ten. Dan Have a college football playoff problem absolutely not schick a problem is only a problem if it has no solutions and the solution in the big ten just went all your games. You already have enough notoriety. You have enough prestigious conference. If you went <music> out you make it in Ohio state. Don't talk to me about no problems when you lost a perdue last year. You can't talk about a problem if there is a clear and simple solution and the solution just win your games handle your business though I I think another thorn in the side here for the big ten is they cannot afford and certainly last year could not afford for Notre Dame to not be affiliated with the conference in go undefeated. The moment down happened. The big ten was doomed and what we've got to remember here and I think Pat Fitzgerald Herald mentioned something. That was very wise regardless of whether we have the B._C._s. we have the College Football playoff the one thing that you're not eliminating is subjectivity and when you put those people in a room and you start examining schedule and you're you're looking at this data point and that data point right and you're talking about the eye test. If you're notre dame and your undefeated. You're going to create a problem for the rest of the power five conferences. If there's a team that's viewed equally because they're always going to fall to the side. Outta the undefeated team in that happened to the big ten last year because of Notre Dame real quick lubes remember who Notre Dame played week one a big German team handle your problems because I'm with you wholeheartedly but the big ten has complete and total fate of its destiny just handle handle your business look at some of this has to do with competitive balance. The big ten Ezer is better than the big ten west they tried it with legends and leaders but they got knocked for that so they did it geographically and it's just not even but you hear some solutions. They're excuse me James Franklin Luke San we should have discussions and he went on to say about doing away with divisions of so that we can have a more likely champion you buy that listen. I think there's a lot of ideas that can be thrown out there. That need to be discussed need to be debated but the one thing that I do agree on is they're not all playing the same amount of games okay now. Everybody has to play a championship game to me. That's got to be rectified before we do anything as far as the visions in any power five conference agree wholeheartedly. There's no clear cut solution. If you do try to do what James Franklin is recommending emend up doing what the big twelve has done. You have to see a team twice Michigan wind up playing Ohio State Ohio State Oh backdoor and play Michigan in the championship game. There is no easy answer well. Let's be honest Ohio. State didn't miss out on the playoff. The big ten didn't miss out on the plow because of divisions or data points losses to Iowa and preview. You've got to beat those teams. If you're national championship caliber team up next here on college football live fifty years ago this weekend the world changed with a trip to the moon which team is prime to make one giant leap and we'll look back at some of the great leap. We've seen here in college football this Saturday. We'll have one giant so you have to fight card highlighted by welterweight half A._l.. Dose on US and Leon Edwards Nine Eastern on E._S._P._N.. We have really no idea what he was talking about inside the pet that rock is a very hard ass traditional football coach that was last week. There's a little bit of drama and all this. There's Heroes Villains they might hate me but I'm still pretty important part of that. The <hes> check that out on Sunday as speaking of people from Outer Space Fiftieth Anniversary of that historic day the Apollo all eleven mood landing when it touched down to the surface of the moon. That's coming up on Saturday. Neil Armstrong said that's one small step for man one giant leap for mankind man Tom and Emmanuel Acho so on that note our staff compiled filed the greatest leaps in college football history. Let's watch these together and you can't have the best laid without Bo over the top loop. You have any kind of just stalled in mid air and then went straight down not and I think it meant more iron ball about Lavar Arrington look at Superman now that was a lead that really started linebackers trying to take that leap. I I tried once in college not nearly as successful changed rules. How about Libya unveil that and that's why it's a game of inches boys yeah he was a bit arrested was an air about as long as hold out <hes> Lamar Jackson again? I'm not phased gotta hit midair and kept his feet number. One football and fantasy gotta be a furor worried about that. There's another show for that all right so on that in that vein. Give me a team. Luke's that's going to take one giant leap this season well. This might not be too big of a stretch but I wouldn't go with Utah. I think Carl Wittingham got himself a ball club that is really really deep and has the best defensive front in their too deep in the PAC twelve. They only got two difficult road games at U._S._C.. At that Washington the rest they get home manageable non conference schedule veteran quarterback in skilled weapons. I like to use I'm going with U._S._C. that team right there. The trojans Graham Herald new offensive coordinator. They had a lot of distractions all off season.

The Secrets of the Self: Pitfalls

"Today's daily breath is made possible by all birds. All birds shoes are made from natural materials. That would make your feet happy like back to Daly Brett. We continue our exploration into the book of Secrets Secrets of today. What I'd like to do is actually mentioned a few patrols that people on the spiritual bought what are susceptible to anyone who's experienced spiritual seeking or being spiritual junkie as they call them Goes to every workshop away every seminar on spirituality and there are some pitfalls that happened when you become a spiritual junkie and here's how you avoid them number one knowing where you're going knowing where you're going. There's an ancient Zen aphorism that says a good traveler has no definite plans and is not intent intent. On arriving. I repeat that a good traveler has no definite. Plans is not intent on on arriving. That's me by the way I travel all the time in some people have to take LSD and all these drugs do take a trip. They call it tripping. Okay but have you ever watched a baby. They're tripping all the time so happy and joyful they said what is is. This may be taking a kid. I wish I could bottle that they're tripping because they'll where they are. The Judy is the destination insulation. So if you know where you're going or you're not with me hard. Work driving ambitious exacting. Exacting plans a goal. That you will get to and you're never present right now for that. The new arrive where you will arrive. You won't be president. President anyways was the point to the West. bitwell is relax. The point of arrival is now in fact. There's no other point of arrival other than now think about it. Have you ever been anywhere other than now. Even when you're planning in your imagination to be in the future you're doing it now. The bus is history. The putsch future there is not yet. Now I'm alive. Good place to begin. So once you know this pitfall then can you will also avoid the other pitfalls and what are the other pitfalls struggling all the time to get somewhere. Menu have already arrived because the place. This is always down. It's also using someone else's map people say I want to worship. Jesus Christ do you really WanNa wish of Jesus Christ or do you want to have the experience that Jesus I'd do you want to worship Moses or do you want to have the experience Moses. Do you want to worship the Buddha or you only have the expense but I had I would say organized. Religion is buying into somebody. Else's story true spirituality atrocity is not buying anyone story but they're not buying the map but say how did they get there and here is what I'm going to do to get there so don't use other people's maps including mine. I'm just giving directions by the way and pointing the way you don't need to worship my finger pointing the way look in the direction that that way finger points and then if it seems attractive if it's not attractive don't go but don't use other people's map don't try too hard to always improve. Prove yourself you could just as you are. Imagine somebody was perfect. It would be so exasperated to be around them but if you have negative traits buzzed trade. Somebody interested in knowing you because that makes you interesting who just always positive always negative. While I don't WanNa be around you. Don't try too hard to improve yourself except just don't set a timetable. Don't wait for a miracle. Medical the miracle is happening right now and what is that medical existence and the awareness of existence. There's no big America Geico. Why is their existence? 3D Printing Today

271_3DPrinting_Today

"Three D printing. Today's number two seventy-one testing color changes Z, height compensating, three D printer engineering book review. Come back to three D printing. Today, the podcast about all aspects of three D printing. Hobby professional industrial, it doesn't matter. We covered. All my name's Andy Cohen, I'm here, Mr. Whitney Potter high. You doing I'm doing pretty darn good. So we got this story out of Berkeley. Although I think it's also Lawrence Livermore, high call. Yeah. It's researchers at L L l and Berkeley, and they're talking of the articles out of three years, and they talk about using light that turns liquid into objects a right away like. Like all this LA the last word in the title is in minutes. Well, I could do it in you know, ninety minutes. Right. But I think the point is is they do it like within like, five minutes or less. So I went, and I read the article now this is like the third story. We have of what you could say is an innovative approach to an older process. And and I think they are trying to be innovative here. And basically what the way the article describes it is they have their own formulation of resin, which is oxygenated, by the way. And there's something about the oxygen being cross linked to the resin molecules that makes this possible something special about the resin, right? And they project an animation of the three D object rotating in three D. Okay. Into the resin. And they they rotate the containment right with the resin in there while they're doing this. And they say that they can get the three D image cured into the resin in three D in minutes. It happens like really really quickly. You see it in real time to some degree in their video. Although a what they show turns out to be something that doesn't look time lapse particular could be a time lapse, you don't see any cohesive shape, that makes any sense. So on the surface. It's like, oh boy yet another innovation that attempts to produce things at an incredibly fast rate from an getting away from the layer by layer from two to three D the peeling effect and the peeling affect so they're trying to innovate the trying to do something different. The results are far from acceptable there. There resolutions from. It's extremely rough resolutions really rough. The objects are very very tiny to they're very small on. So the the only thing I I'm glad that they're working on it. And I would hope that they continue to work on it. And if they perfect it, this could be incredibly valuable and make a lot of money. So do it. But I don't recommend you use the name replicator. That's true. It's interesting that that have is the three D printing world so old that people have sort of forgotten the past. I mean that one's been used people. I don't think they realized it which is weird. But I, but I think that maker bought NAS Stratus owns the name replicator one and replicator to and ripper guy. I don't think they own the name replicator. I guess this is just a just the nickname at this point. They're not there yet. Yeah. It's just the manufacturing anyway. And they name it after the Star Trek replicator, which is what I think maker bot did do. But in any case, it looks really cool. And we wish the folks at Lawrence Livermore in Berkeley, labs, all the luck. They could possibly have with this. And hopefully, you're from now we'll say. Hey, look, we got. Yeah. It's it's a very interesting notion. I mean, it is it my first thought it was like how they're doing SLA. You know, right. A little bit. But it's it's sort of polar SLA, you know, they're they're rotating it, which is I mean, it's it's an interesting concept. You're you're going to see some limitations. I mean, you'd think while I mean, how would this work on anything, but very transparent resins right because you're actually shooting into the resin to to affect the cure. Also, they're they're projecting the entire image to the surface. Right. Which can be a problem. Now. That's a problem that can be overcome fairly easily simply using the technique that we've reported on previous show where you do volume metrically from the middle out. You could probably get better quality that way. And maybe that's something. They'll be exploring in the near future. Right. Yeah. It's I'm I'm not. I'm not really sure. I mean, I guess I I can see their their their pictures. And it seems like this would be easy enough to do you know in? I I could build something to to actually do this in about an hour. If you read there, it's just a matter of what's the secret sauce on the resin. If you read further they describe how the the oxygenation of the resins make it possible. So that you can do the the image Perot tation right without without it, curing in places that you don't want it to cure something about how the oxygenation gives you that stat split away from cured versus uncured. I'm not sure I understand how it works. But they do say that after you've printed something you have to take the resin that's leftover and re-oxygenation. It just reuse it. Yeah. I was noticing that there. There seemed to be a lot of bubbles in the in the fluid that they're that they're showing which I that struck me as kind of weird, but I guess maybe. It's a side affect of the of the oxygenation by think, I'm in bubbles SLA is generally bad, generally interesting. Anyway, what do we have coming up on our show today Whitney? Well, let's see we started talking about color testing color changes. And then we describes e high compensation, and we have a review of Ryan Carlisle's new book on three D printer engineering volume. One awesome. Let's do this. So it's about time. We start talking about some of the results of your prince, you haven't actually printed any objects for me, but you doing doing tests it strips, and what are these test strips for now, we've got pictures all all of these test strips are photographed and are going to be or they will be by the time. This gets out there on both. Our our Google group forum as well as our page on Facebook. So I suggest you go there and check it out the first photograph all of the strips are laid out in the second photograph there in the exact same position. But flipped over. Right. You'll notice that the color changes and the colors themselves are quite different. We'll talk about that. So let's talk about these tests patterns that Sharon. So I the the way I did these these are strips that are there about their a single extrusion. Wide. I should to extrusions because it's basically a rectangle that's to extrusions wide and what three hundred millimeters long and about twenty millimetres high. So it makes a, you know, a relatively thin strip. I used a post processing a Perl script that changes the the color that were extracting at each end of the script at each end of the models as the as the Han end travels down this line, right? Your changing from one stepper motor going into your hot end to another stepper motor going into your holiday at different percentages or or a combination of stepper Motors to a different combination. Step runs from one hundred percent zero and slowly the one hundred percent makes its way down to zero while the other one count counts upwards or no, I'm I'm giving it just one command. So I'm giving it one color at one end and one color at the other end. Gotcha. So the question. Was to see how long it takes for the color to actually change coming out of the extruder. Oh, so you go from zero to one hundred right away. Right. So so this one for instance, here this is going from this Syon at one end magenta at the other end. I'm going hundred percent Syon nothing else at this. So what you're testing is. Actually, how long it takes for all of the stuff. That's inside the highlight to shove out and be cry long. Has it take to to purge out the old color Brian the hot end because because before we start moving down the down the the print here. I've changed the color when I get to the other end. I change the color before we start moving back. Okay. So what you're looking at here is, you know, the first probably what is that maybe seventy five millimeters of this. You don't detect any change even though I've said ad magenta to it. I've I've said make it nothing, but magenta element the film's traveling from where the feeder. Areas down towards the right. And so it takes about this is what they with the standard diamond nozzle, which is a point four mil nozzle. It takes about seventy five millimeters of extrusion before you start to see the St. the change. Then you go through sort of this center segment which lasts. Maybe what is that maybe one hundred fifty millimeters where you're seeing both the old color and the new color, and then you get to to the last about fifty millimeters of this where you've got where you've just changed all the way over to the new color. So the what's interesting about it is that that pattern is different depending on what what color combination you're using. So you can't expect it to be one length. It's the length as a function of the color, right because of the bleed over effect of the right colors themselves. Now bear in mind that if you have, you know, if you pick a long enough, you know, extruder, you know, wiping path. That you you can be guaranteed to to get. But that it's it's it's interesting that it doesn't take the same amount of distance to purge each color change that it does vary. Some but assuming you've got be this is an important point to make here. So we're talking about kind of an expectation of what you would do for transitioning raw transition tower. So if you're using color mixing, not for gradients using color mixing to change from one explicit color to another within your print spot color. You could you could do a transition transition white the how long is that strip looks like it's about two hundred millimeters on. Yeah. So you could make an object that's two hundred millimeters long and only one pass it would be like one one flat object coming upward. And that would be your transition tau rather than a big thick block. Like, we get the pallet or with the Preuss. Multi materials option all you've really would get is like a flat wall. That's a lot less filament being used in this particular operation. I like this a lot better than the right approach. Well, yeah, this is this is all the all the extracting you need to do to to change the color. Now, if this length of extrusion were, you know, back and forth on the infill of prime pillar. It it doesn't really make any difference as long as you're getting the plastic out. It doesn't matter. What shape it goes into? We just have to make it a shape that would fall over. Right. Exactly or filler is more useful. Or if you're hot end reaches off the end of your bed. You could just dump the extrusion onto the side is spaghetti and right app. Capture that in a Cup or something that is feasible, and which case should be even less filament would be used potentially. But you still got. I mean, you still gotta get all of the all this stuff out of the mixing chamber to get new color. The other thing is really interesting which. Your second. Photograph shows is that if you look at the other side of these these strips, this is when the extruder is going back to where the where the print started. So it's extracting on the way back you get somewhat different colors. And that's because of the the way the we talked before about how the colors don't mix one hundred percent. So the they don't mix all mix as their smeared down the previous layer that's next thing this action, but the the which way the that the aspect of the print is facing. So which side you're looking at determine there's a strong color caste to which side, it's it's which extruder it's it's facing and that can go from this one here is is going from yellow to a very dark purple on the front side. And the back side it goes. Some green back to yellow, and that's just because of where the extruders are positioned relative to the the facing of the object south pretty slick. Yes. Interesting photographs thank you. You're welcome. So we've been talking quite a bit here about different ways of keeping the nozzle height from your bed in different ways on it. Hopefully will put this in the right sequence, we publish these correctly. Segmented USA worry about that. I'll figure that out. So I'll put the number three next to the title. So we don't confuse this with the others. So in in one segment, we discuss how you use the micrometer for raising and lowering the height of your bed ins in starting the starting point for home. And we talk a little bit about tweaking screws while you're printing, the skirt and lots of different things. And and we mentioned during these discussions utilizing what we call Z high compensation some producers of three D printers like to call. It auto bed leveling, which is baloney. It's not auto bed level and auto bed. Leveling is when the bed have little actuators that actually position it correctly or the. Hot end can automatically know its distance from the point that it's extruded to those are high those are expensive technologies that you're never going to see in a machine that costs less than a thousand dollars or even less than four thousand or less than ten thousand dollars. You're not going to see that that's expensive technology. But what you will see is technology where you can have the the bed. You can have at the beginning of the print some kind of a sensor on your hot end that goes out to specific points of your bed and goes down and touches. So it knows where the bed point is doesn't necessarily touch sometimes use an inductive. It's. Yeah. Assemblies French printer bite us that there are technically I personal uses that to proceed us we've seen. We have seen them on the ender were it's actually a button presses the button. But somehow there's a sensor where the hot incomes down on a point on the bed, and it knows where that position of. Dead the the height should be. And then as it's printing the two dimensional layer. If then raises and lowers the hot end in z axis to compensate for the bed position. And does that for the entire print all the way up, and what you get would then be if if your beds way off, and you hold your object flat to the way it was printed? You would see kind of layer lines that are slightly diagonal from the slightly diagnosed, but you know, it worked it worked for the our printer bought medal simples, and I've seen it in other printers, and it works at does work. Well, you don't like it. I don't like it at all. Because look at something like the Perner bought metal simple, right? It was a really dynamite really nicely built machine. Very tight. Very very accurate. The only thing it lacked was bed level it had this silly little sensor adjusting to censor. A huge pain in the ass. I had to replace the sensor a couple of times to actually get it to work. If you want to change out your Bill plate you frequently have to change out the sensor because the censor won't read through through a glass Bill plate. So there was a lot of of song and dance that had to be gone through Justin just to make it work. And we talked about it on this show years ago. And then the challenges we both had trying to get the sensor to sense through a glass plate was impossible. Right. And plus once you got it working best case scenario, you're just adding a lot more movement into your hot end, your adding Z movement into your hot end with every move, which you're just adding more potentials for in into your print. It's like wh why not just build a printer? Right where it's flat it's rigid. And you don't have to worry about adjusting it. Okay. I'll argue why. Okay. But costs. The Bill plate is a constraint. And to get that constraint. The constraint is the Bill plate must be perfectly flat right and mounted perfectly level relation to the head. And it's never going to be perfect. Right. But it's going to be close enough because it only has to be good to you know, somewhere in the range the laugh of your layer in your height. Right. And and and in fact, it can be even less than that. If you if you print out I I wouldn't argue for printing a raft. But if you print your first layer simplify three D lets you print your first layer thicker, right? So so you don't even have to call it a rafters printer. I layer thicker to compensate and then by the time you've done your first layer, the top of your first layer is flat, essentially, and you can print on top of that. So I just it seems like it's a selling point because people heard, you know, a couple years ago when these things came up people heard all level. The bed is a huge pain. You have to level the bed every time well on a well-built printer. You gotta level the bed about once. And that's only if it rattles loose on the way from the factory. I would argue that for printer like gigantic, or if you set it up from a systems design, so it's it's not clunky. Right. And it's done in an integrated manner. It would solve a lot of the leveling problems because leveling Gigante must be incredibly difficult. Now, it's not it's not hard with a micrometer. I mean getting getting it level to a point. I mean, getting it level to about a tenth of a millimeter across the whole Bill place as not that difficult getting it level beyond that as more difficult because the, you know, the glass plate, isn't that isn't flat beyond beyond that level. But it it. It doesn't really matter though, your when are you going to be printing something that big with layer lines? Less than that. You know? I mean, I life is too short for that. So it's not you know, I concentrate on rigidity of of the Bill plate and being able to set it. So it doesn't change. And then once you level it e- pretty much at sent forget. And I don't understand why all printers shouldn't be built like that. Where I mean, if you had something like like the printer bought where instead of worrying about having this automatic build compensation the printer bought was really rigid. Really well made was all metal metal bearings and linear rods. It's like why not just have it? So that you level the bed once they could probably even do it in the factory. I'll accept it. Well, we built them as kits, but I guess they sold them as as premade, and then you know, you're done. Well, we could say that we know why? And because printer bought Atta make money, sure. And they wanted to offer as a feature, and they offered it as a differentiating feature that they heard through their market with something that was highly desired jer we thought it was cool when we started using it worked. My son uses it all the time and it works for him. Yeah. Once you get a dial dialed in it works. But but the same thing is true about leveling build plate with a properly designed printer is just mechanically a whole lot simpler less things to fail on. I'm supposed to disagree with that. So that we could have a debate. But I'm having trouble with that. You're having trouble keeping up your end. Because I mean, look at the three the three it's, you know, it's it's not it's not tiny. It's bigger than the than with the printer bought was yet, I build space and and two hundred two hundred or something like that. And it's it's got these beautiful wheels. And I can I can level it on the fly while it's printing the skirt of the object, they sell they call it a micro, touch or some kind of touch where it's a little bit. And where it automatically gets the height of Horner. And then he compensates. Does the Z high compensation, but it drags that around the whole time though. Yep. I'm right next to your is your to your nozzle somewhere near the nozzle. I didn't install and I'm not going to it can't be any lower than you're an awful somewhere else or nozzles going to be grounding out before it is somewhere around there that and and they're there and people by the my no people are buying them for the Prusova Mark three Proust's in the people make a big deal about them. I it's so easy to level. The thing. I know I'm going to be teaching three D printing glasses very very soon. Right. And I know all the things -iety for newbies is going to be leveling the bed, and I'm going to teach them the way you and I do it. I'm going to say you print a couple of skirts and feel and so we're going to print objects with skirts on them on them going to have them take their fingers and rub their fingertip on a good skirt on a bad, skirt skirt, that's too high skirt. That's too low. Nothing to do with a bunch of times. And they'll have it. They'll no longer be afraid of leveling a bed. Right. But when it's a big three D printer like gigantea is I I mean, I'm I'm hoping someday to make one that's big enough to Princeton entire guitar body one print, and that's fairly substantial it's at least two feet two feet. At least it were. I printed a full-size telecaster on Andrei Gant in. It's it's two feet by two feet, and my my actual build build area is less than that. Because of the the no, no, no, I'm not going to do it. No. If I'm going to do that. I want to be able to just it manually by would not put it on there. I know I would not put it on there. Even you would not put a I don't care if I just ruined argument. There's no way I would put Z high confrontation any of my thirty. Ladies and gentlemen. Sorry. Andy Cohen has conceded are sham argument. I'm sorry. I can't I can't go through with this. They're lying to myself to posted on every form the past seven years Z high compensation is not optimal. It's great. If you're a newbie, and you can't and you don't want to bother learning it. That's great. If you're a printer manufacturer, and you need a feature to sell, but why not just make good printer? That's accurate and rigid. So it stays in adjustment. I know we're going to get emails for posting. I use it all the time and it works. Great. Is it all the time on my cra- printer? That doesn't stay in a judgment. Otherwise, I mean careful now just call these people's printers crap not do that not every you're going to get people mad at us. We're going to get negative reviews. Only tune only the ones only the ones that don't stay in adjustment. So they needs the high compensation. You know, I'll stand by that. So let's see after almost a year of of waiting. A friend of ours. Name Ryan Carlisle has finally actually published the book that he's been promising all of us. The good news is he's published the book and right off the bat until you. It's a major thumbs up. The unfortunate news. It's only one volume one of probably I think it's like three volumes. I'm not sure it who knows it may be more. However, I agree with his choice. This particular volume focuses primarily on the the tool path, a hardware and the casing hardware that basically the the the differentiating foundation of what makes a three D printer. It's also possibly one of the more interesting aspects from an academic standpoint because it from historically a lot of stuff happened rather relatively quickly right after the strategists patent ran out. And and what what Ryan does is he he he gathers all the information that he could find and Ryan he's an academic, and he in and he takes it. From an academic standpoint. Reads, like a textbook reads like a textbook. It's it's a combination the upfront its narrative the Goodson to descriptive prose. And unfortunately, you have to go expository prose to some degree. Which means you've got to read slower. You can't read as fast. So it's not easy reading like, for example. It's it's good. As you read to take his normalization of of definitions and descriptions, very seriously carefully. Like, really, listen, listen to what he's saying. And listen to the labs. Let the label stick before you move on. Because like all academic material. You know, once you've identified a label, it becomes the shorthand across the rest of the book and conceptually things get more complex, and you have to simplify by shortening things. So he'll use he'll use descriptions of say a particular architecture over for to it as a z X Y or a Z Y XM. He'll he'll do that. And those those are labels which describe the two probably most the most pop-. Frame tool tool path architectures in three D printing, a desktop three printing today, it's a really really good book. And if you're interested in learning about the most the most foundation aspects of three D printing, how devolve where it came from how how it how the the breadth of the different architectures that are out there. And there's quite a few and how they volved in. What makes for good here and bad there and the trade offs involved? This is the book for you. Brian went out and gathered all of his information from sources that are kind of difficult to find he would have to dig through textbooks and find like one or two power graphs in the entire textbook that were value in the rest was not of relevance. He would go online and search and various forums and groups and pull data from. Posts and blogs, and and to do that on your own could take years years. So years worth of finding information and compiling it, and normalizing it? So that it all kind of fits together. And makes sense your best bet get this book. Yeah. For sure. Yeah. I was just leafing through it. Because he didn't send me a copy. Talk. But just looking through it seeing. I'm an all the the details. I mean, he's he's showing you know, like, you know, a beam deflection. Equations and stuff I mean. So if you really want to get into design of of three printer and understand everything that goes into it from an engineering perspective. He seems like he he makes it pretty accessible. I mean, it's not reads like a textbook. Yes. But it but an introductory textbook. It's not I mean, it's not like pages and pages of equations. But he does show you, you know, sort of how you could you could calculate. You know, what what the next step is figuring out how much this is going to deflect in this, you know, whatever design so anyway, it's pretty I mean, it's it's definitely unlike any other book we've had in the in the three D printing. Oh, yes. By quite a bit. I'd say it's the first book of any kind which finally. Digs through. It's a it's a tour to force of the tool path methods. And and and case designs, it's the only source. I think we have today that is this definitive and and complete for sure. Yeah. It. It's published through a company called sublime publications. We'll put the Earl in our show notes like tell you today. The the the printing is sold out. It's sold out fairly quickly. He he has told me that he's already ordered another printing of it so bind by the time. The show gets out. Chances are that'll be in the work, but we're going to shove the segment out into the next show on our Q. So this gets out as quickly as possible. I know Ryan plans on going to M r f as I plan, so we'll built be there, and he'll be selling the book there and talking about the book and probably doing a presentation relit related to information from the book, possibly we'll have some discussions in front of groups of people as well. Sure. That'd be great. Yeah. It's it's a it's a pretty amazing treatise on on the subject. That, you know, a lot of three hundred engineering has seemed kind of haphazard somebody came up with the design, and then other people replicated it and sometimes not really understanding. What was essential about why design work and sometimes improving it and sometimes making it worse. And he's going through just from an engineering perspective. You know, why is it that this design works, and what is it? What are the elements of this? That are important the title. The title of the book is three D printer engineering volume one motion platform designed by Ryan Carlisle C A R L Y L E if you Google sublime publications you'll probably be able to find their and pre-order the book thumbs up great book looking forward to the next volume. Good job. And it's encouraging me. I'm starting to think meal, maybe three D printer or. Operations and tips and tricks would be an interesting book for us to do. I know I know it's been done before. I know we have friends out there who have published books on doing this. I don't know. I think you, and I can take a different take on it. Sure. Hey, Whitney, another show is written to my heart. Dr waiting for encoding uploading commitment on her feed to all of our very supportive listeners. Thank you all out there for your support on patriots dot com. Thank you for your support on itunes, the reviews on the podcast. We really appreciate them. Thank you for them. And hey, thanks for listening. I've got to think of the week. Okay. This one came out like the morning of our podcast. I was just kind of glancing through thing verse and it had just been posted. So if it becomes more popular more power to them, we've done raspberry pies. As online as as web presence to throw your files onto we also use the camera on the raspberry pi a really that was one of my favorite uses. You're talking about octa octa print we with octa print in the in the pie. And I think lately they've had an update where it knows to only capture the image after. For the extruders moved out of the way. So you actually see the thing kind of your object growing really really nice affect? So the thing about using the camera with the raspberry pi octa print is that a lot of the holders were kind of flimsy. The camera itself has a wide ribbon cable coming out of its and it's just a just a aboard with maybe four holes in the corners. And and the ribbon cable. Yeah. So this thing which comes to us. Let's see its thing number. It's off thing. Verse three four zero eight six seven three is a camera case for the raspberry pi camera it comes to us from Varner rance, otherwise known as Bryan Varner of Indianapolis. Indiana needs a good chance we're going to be you may go should in the coming up. So the the the thing that makes this so incredibly useful. And why it's thing of the week. Is that the case which is complete can has the ball. Some of it of the the hinge connection for the standard gopro camera, which means you could use all of the different variants of gopro amounts. That have been created on thing. Averse to specify exactly how you want to use your camera really, very very handy an easy to print thing. And really well done post. Good instructions a good post. Thank you vying, Brian Yankee, Brian host. And that's our thing that we so let's see what do you got coming up on the show us coming up next week? We talk about a sixteen color print. I'm going to discuss the the copper silk filament that came out last Christmas. And we're gonna talk about rebuilding a bad three D printer. That's it. Thanks for this.

I asked the members of my private facebook group about their favorite tools so this has definitely influenced by their responses and I'll call out some of their recommendations as we go so the very first tool on the list is quicken. You've heard me talk about quicken before. It's one of my favorite tools. Quicken has been around a long long time and it's pretty much the gold standard in personal finance software. They have a suite of products that connect to multiple types of account. So it's going to connect to your bank accounts credit cards lenders and vestments. Whatever you've got to aggregate all your transactions and Jim Monica s from the facebook group says I purchase quicken. And it's helped me tremendously and by the way you can also join the group. If you WANNA send me a text I will send you an invitation to the group. The text is dollars. Do L. L. A. R. S. Just send that to the number three three four four four like many companies quicken has moved to a subscription model where you pay an annual fee and then you get automatic updates for new features and services the starter version gives you a lot including automatic categorization limited budget tracking and a bill dashboard. And you can get that for thirty five dollars per year or you can go a little further. And upgrade to the deluxe version for fifty dollars or the premier version is seventy five dollars those. Give you the starter. Features plus customizable budgeting loan tracking investment tracking analysis. Bill pay an online backup. You can use quicken on your pc or Mac but pc users can also get a home and business version for one hundred dollars a year. This helps you manage a small business. Or maybe freelance work by separating your personal and business expenses you can also email custom invoices with payments links and track your business tax deductions which is really helpful. You can enter transactions manually into quick and if you don't want to connect to your financial accounts online and there are quicken mobile APPs of course to sync up with your desktop version. Although you can't see all your data from the mobile APP but it is certainly helpful for an overview quicken has far more features than I'll ever use but it's my favorite way to manage money. Every week I import my new transactions. And I make sure that they're categorized correctly especially those related to taxes so that I can easily create reports at tax time the second tool I wanNA talk about is meant Meghan h from the dominate. Your dollars group says I use men and after seeing it categorized transactions. I couldn't believe how much I was spending at coffee shops a month. It really helped me budget and be more mindful of all the little everyday purchases I was making. Men is one of the original web based personal finance management programs. It's free to sign up and to connect your financial accounts and these include your bank accounts credit cards loans and investments through an easy to use dashboard and then once mint abrogates your transactions. You can easily categorize them create a budget and even set up automatic bill payments you can set alerts for unusual charges create goals and even get a free credit score. The MITT MOBILE APP has a lot of functionality allowing you to check your account balances and your monthly budgets but I will say the downside to most free financial. Apps is that you're gonNA see a lot of ads and sometimes that's not necessarily a bad thing but just be aware that's certainly how they're going to monetize. Plus users sometimes complain about not being able to connect meant with all their financial institutions. However I have not used a personal finance tool yet. That doesn't experience some connectivity glitch. From time to time the third tool is excel or google sheets if you know how to use spreadsheets you may find that excel or Google sheets is all. You need to stay on top of your money along time. Money girl listener and facebook group member named Charles. I says that excel is definitely his to product. Carla are says she's been using the same spreadsheet for years. Carly's telling me one way I use excel is to update my financial statement which lists my major assets and liabilities to calculate my net worth. I also have an Amortization spreadsheet to track loan payments on real estate investments that I own excel as part of the Microsoft suite of products which cost about one hundred fifty dollars or you can get it by subscribing to office three sixty five for about seventy dollars per year on the other hand. Google sheets is a free cloud based service with online sharing features with excel or sheets. You can enter simple formulas to add up rose or add up columns you can create charts and graphs to get customized picture of your finances and you can even export your data into a variety of popular formats such as PDF DAVID. C and Tommy s from the facebook group. Recommend checking out a service called Tiller that aggregate your financial transactions into Google sheets. Tillers pretty cool. It offers several free templates such as an expense tracker a business spreadsheet and a build your own spreadsheet tiller gives you thirty days for free and then charges fifty nine dollars a year and it looks like they're rolling out a Beta product for excel users as well so if you enjoy spreadsheets using them with teller is probably the most customizable financial tool that you're gonNA find. The fourth tool is a budget or a Y. N. A. B. If you're looking for a specialized tool to manage a budget why an AB is a really popular product with a very loyal following and it got a lot of thumbs up in the facebook group. It imports your financial transactions. And helps you create a budget based on your goals? But it's also got a lot of flexibility for unexpected expenses. You can use why. Nabc to generate charts and graphs to see your progress where you might need to come back. They offer loads of tutorials and education on budgeting best practices plus a great mobile APP why. Ab B. Again. It stands for you need a budget. They offer a thirty four day free trial and then they charge eighty four dollars per year. Now if you're a student who can proof of your school enrollment you get a very generous year long free trial so it's a great way to kind of get on board with budgeting when you're young before we go on. I WanNa tell you about a quick and fund way that you can help. Keep the money girl podcast going these days. Many of us are doing a lot more online shopping than we used to. Especially if you've got multiple brokerage accounts or multiple retirement accounts you can even add goals such as saving for a child's education and entertain assets such as the value of your real estate. That's based on a percentage of your assets under management. Nee charge point eight nine percent for balances over one hundred thousand and a range of point. Four nine percent up two point seven nine percent if you have over a million dollars. The six tool is acorns. If you don't have a lot of money to start investing try the original micro investing APP. Acorns. What you link it to a debit or credit card acorns automatically sweeps and invest the difference between your purchase cost and the nearest whole dollar amount that you set for example if you spend twenty dollars and fifty cents. I've enjoyed using betterment for probably a decade now and I'm always impressed with their customer service. Their communication and affordable fees. The only downside is that they offer a limited menu of investing options. But that works for me. Because I'M A hands off investor who prefers using global diversified funds. If you're somebody that really wants to pick individual stocks Betterman is not going to work for you but there are plenty of other options out there and the last tool number eight is online bill. Pay Tony M says. I really don't use any method except for online bill payment. I'm fortunate enough to be able to Max out my 401k. Ira An HSA and David be from. The facebook group also praises bill pay saying I was in a bad car accident in the hospital for a month but bills got paid automatically. It was one thing my wife didn't have to take care of so I agree using your bank accounts online bill. Pay Is probably one of the most overlooked free personal finance tools out there. Having all your bills in one place makes this often-dreaded task of paying them much easier. In my opinion your payments are either sent electronically or by a paper check so you can pay any company or any individual who has a mailing address most banking institutions guarantee. That your payments will arrive on time and they'll also reimburse you any late fees if those payments don't arrive on time you can create one time or recurring payments for the entire balance. Do or send a partial payment so between your online bill pay and APPS like pay powler Ven Mo- There's really no need to carry paper checks anymore. I have my e bills sent to my USA. A bill pay center so that I'm notified due dates. I can set up payment dates far in advance. I have bills that are said to pay months in advance and can also choose specific accounts to deduct the payment from centralizing bills inside. Your checking account really allows you to see where your money is going and to make sure that you've got enough to cover future payments if you're somebody who hasn't tried any of these personal finance tools or apps yet because you're worried about security here's what you need to know. I do think security is an important issue. But ABS- typically have a read only access and they've got high level encryption and that means that they typically only see your financial transactions. They can't change them or move money around now. There are exceptions the online bill pay services do make requests to move your money. And that's one reason why I stick to my bank accounts. Bill pay instead of authorising other services to do it. There is always a risk to using financial websites or even buying something with a credit card.
