Elon Musk Puts Twitter Deal on Hold Over Fake Accounts
"Right, I want to talk about this Twitter thing. Elon Musk, given everybody invested in this stock a bit of a heart attack in Friday's session. Well, before trading started on Friday, you see, he tweeted that it would be on hold because there were too many fake accounts, right? So that didn't go over so well. In fact, it went over so poorly that the stock just plummeted at last check down about 8% in trading. It already been down. Don't forget, just in Thursday's session. So it continued trading down amid fears that Elon is seriously looking to get out of the deal. Is he? Well, he tweeted out a couple hours later, perhaps realizing, I think the stock was down like 25% in pre market trading, realizing that this would be really disconcerting to investors. They know it wasn't over. But it is possible. I'm just going to say this. It is possible. He's getting some cold feet. And the reason he might be getting cold feet is because, well, he didn't do his due diligence in the interest of just getting the deal done initially. Normally there's a due diligence process. He didn't do that. And so now it's coming out that, well, a lot of the accounts could be fake on Twitter. And this was per, I think, a Reuters report. So understandably, naturally, he's a little worried. He might be concerned about his investors that are putting money in as well. And so he tweeted this out. And well, suffice it to say that people are either rejoicing or if they are invested in the stock really pretty
Twitter Pushes Out Two Execs Ahead Of Elon Musk Deal Close
"But let's turn back to the markets right now because Twitter actually, let's see where Twitter ended the day. Twitter ended, well, it's still quite a bit away from that 54 20 Mark, right? That's the price that Elon Musk is paying per share. So we're expecting that the stock will move higher, provided the deal closes. And that's the, that's the trade we're watching right now. You see the risk garb guys, there was garb traders and gals. Aggressively trading this stock to see whether or not it's going to get to that 54 20. Today or at least in Thursday's session, we found that it was just at $45 and 8 cents a share. I want to point out that the company did part ways with two key executive two executives that had senior level positions. This is presumably as it starts to really begin this change process, right? The shift towards a new culture given all that's expected when Elon Musk comes in. I just want to state again. I think it's healthy to have some diversity in opinion. And I think unfortunately, too many of these big tech companies have had sort of only one way of thinking and so consequently everybody is so easily offended. Everybody's so anxious to take something down and what Elon Musk has really advanced is this idea that you need to err on the side of speech. So this is an important cultural shift for Twitter. It's also pretty strategic because Elon's plan is to take the company private for three years and then bring it back out to public markets, but it needs revenue, right? It's not anywhere near reaching its potential when you think about how many users it has and how it's grown those users and yet how do you tap into that as a revenue source. That's what the company is really failed to do what Elon Musk thinks he
If California Weather Was Like North Dakota, There'd Be Nobody Left
"But it's great to be here. I love California. Let me say this this way. I love parts of California. Well, I don't know. Let me say it differently. I love the people of Calvin. I love some of the people of California, but I have a whole theory on California, and it really is a test of how important is whether in your life. That really is the question, right? I mean, you wake up, I woke up very early this morning. And a morning in Southern California say, all right, 18% income tax, homelessness, vagrancy crime. All right, if this is the trade off, then so be it. It really is the great test of weather. Because I guarantee you if California was like Fargo North Dakota in the winter, there would be nobody left.
Inflation Woes Crush Wall Street Numbers
"To the news that shocked a lot of Americans that they got home last night. They saw that Wall Street shots sold off. Big time. So I let me look at what the total percentage of on the doubt was 3.12% on the S&P, it was three and a half percent on the NASDAQ. It was 4.99%. The Amazon was down almost 5% itself. And I'll tell you what, it's probably going to go on for a while. Because the market knows the fed meets every couple of months and is going to raise interest rates a half point every time they meet until such time as inflation is broken because every single person that inflation is the enemy here. And don't worry, if you're unless you're a speculator and you're selling puts and calls. And that's just gambling. I'm not sure Robinhood kiddo, who thought, you know, I was going to make a fortune by trading GameStop and AMC. You expect this and you grim and bear it. If you're an investor, as opposed to a speculator or a trader, you just say, ah, well, you know, that was a good 5 years. And it'll be a year before we start to climb steadily again. Maybe two. But it will, the S&P, the NASDAQ, the Dow, big tech, strong commodities, like P and G, but they always come back. Boeing's got troubles only announced it's moving its corporate headquarters. Near me and the beltway and that is simply the capitulation of corporate America to the reality of the interest rates and tax rates of living in a blue city.
Elon Musk Secures $7B in Outside Funding for Twitter Takeover
"Okay, the other thing that did well today in Thursday's trading was actually shares of Twitter and the reason for this is because Elon Musk has managed to secure more funding as I assume he'd be able to. Interestingly, he's got some interesting characters. A Saudi prince, Larry Ellison, a total 19 investors are now involved in this project. He raised 7 just over $7 billion, the stock traded up 2.6% ending the day at $50 36 cents a share, so not quite at the 54 20 yet, but he's getting there. And what you'll find is as we get closer and closer to the deal closing, indeed, Twitter will be trading at 54 20. So it's a good sign for Elon Musk for those that me who believe in our freedom of speech and think that he'll do a pretty decent job helping to ensure that in innovative ways, let's face it, we need some innovation within the social media space, it's good news to see that that deal is more likely to be closed.
Elon Fights Back: Twitter Will Always Be Free for Casual Users
"Is fighting back. He tweeted that, quote, Twitter will always be free for casual users, but maybe a slight cost for commercial, government users. Well, let me interesting, right? Maybe those government types and those NGO types, et cetera might actually have to pay and certainly one way to make money at Twitter. Anyway, he's also talking about taking the company private as I mentioned, of course, for a few years and then getting back out into the public markets. So the thinking being you clean up the financials, you actually make this company profitable in some way, shape, or form, which should be easy to do because I think there's plenty of low hanging fruit. The investors have just missed, forgive me not investors. I think investors recognize that this company really couldn't get their act together, which is why it was trading low and Elon smartly recognized that value, but if you have a management team in there that can recognize how to extract the value out of the company, that would be a good thing. And that's a private equity investors are looking at. So I suspect that the company would come back to the markets in a couple of years, maybe in three years, once it's up and running, so to speak in a way that's more profitable,

Dow Plunges, Nasdaq Suffers Worst Month in Years
"All right, let's turn to the market today because, oh wow, I mean, remember how I said you might want to diversify your portfolio? I mean, there are some real growing concerns out there about a recession. Our economy, just having runaway inflation, there were some inflation data today, which is contributing to these concerns. Of course, the fed has to deal with that, but what do you know? That's going to mean less money in the system. Therefore, less spending power, perhaps for consumers. And so this is catching up with Wall Street. You saw the month of April closing out there on a low note, the Dow ended the day off nearly a thousand points. The S&P traded down almost 4% the NASDAQ lost more than 4%, so for the month, we saw the S&P lose 9%. It's actually the worst month we've seen for the S&P since March 2020 because again, investors are fearing the threat of a recession. Because the fed's going to have to do something, right? Meanwhile, you've got the fed's favorite measurement of inflation, just posting another major increase. So the fed governors are going to have no choice here. They're going to have to raise rates. They're going to have to raise them big time. There's been a lot of talk about 50 basis points. It's a half a percentage increase, but some think, and I think this was reflected in some of the optimism you saw earlier in the market, at least in Thursday's session, something that, you know, maybe they'll go easy. Maybe they'll go easy and just start with another 25 point hike. Anyway, I think they're going to have to do more. And it's
President Nixon's Big Golden Mistake
"Okay, so my $64,000 question is why did the Richard Nixon do it? They did it by mistake. They didn't mean to go off of it, but there was a mild recession. Nixon was coming up for reelection. They had this mistaken belief that they devalued the dollar. That would improve our trade balance. That would goose up the economy. And so they went off in August of 1971. They what they called close the gold window. Because of bogus economic thinking. Which dominated sadly, much of the economic profession. They like to think they can do things better than an impersonal force like gold. So they went off of it. They made a half baked attempt to go back on it, but no one was really willing to make the effort to do it. So it just sort of fell apart in the early 1970s. Ronald Reagan wanted to go back on the gold standard, but no one around him, except for the handful of exceptions, most of the economists said no. You can't do it. And he knew that if he didn't have the support of an intellectual support, it wouldn't happen. And it didn't happen.
The Iron Law of Oligarchy With Pedro Gonzalez
"With us right now is Pedro Gonzalez from chronicles magazine amongst many other wonderful publications. Pedro, welcome back to the program. What is the iron law of oligarchy? Thanks for having me back, Charlie. So the iron law of oligarchy was proposed by a German born Italian sociologist named Robert michelson. And it's very ominous charming, but really it's just kind of stating a fact, a fact of life. And that is that when you look at political parties because this theory is based on an examination of how political parties and democratic societies actually function. It doesn't matter if a political party calls itself a Social Democratic Party. In that political party, what will inevitably develop is a kind of hierarchy. It's just a fact, right? In any kind of organization, you have a leadership class. So again, it doesn't matter if a political party calls itself socialist or democratic or whatever, a leadership class will emerge that delegates tasks and makes decisions that affect the entire the much larger group. That is what is sociologist Michaels called an oligarchy or in planar terms and elite. Basically just a leadership class. Now, this dynamic that he identified in the political party in any democratic society also applies to trade unions, it applies to companies and yes, democratic society at large. And the point of this theory, the point of the iron law of oligarchy is to, I would say, to make people understand that, look, it doesn't matter if you live in a republic or a democracy, a constitutional republic, whatever label you want to use, there's always going to be a ruling class. You just have to accept that. Because once you accept that, then the task becomes, well, how do we ensure that our leaders are, on the one hand, competent, and on the other hand, not abusing their control over key institutions, the way a leader would a political party, not for the benefit of society, but for their own
Disney Stock Craters Amid 'Special Status' Feud in Florida
"I want to turn to Disney right now because this stock is just cratering. You know, part of it is the concern over whether or not some of these streaming services have sort of tapped out, right? There's so much content out there. There's so much information you can get. A lot of it's free and it's very competitive. This new marketplace. So Netflix proved that. They lost 200,000 subscribers. They're going to lose another 2 million, and investors are like, wow, okay, this is not worth what we thought. It was worth. Expectations are everything, right? And so now investors are looking around and they're saying, okay, it's not just Netflix. It's also other streaming companies, including Disney. And so today we saw shares of Disney continue to fall. In fact, in the after hours market, they are still falling down a little more than 1% in today's trading, ending down the day three and a half percent, a $115 and 77 cents a share. Maybe it's time for new leadership. Maybe this leadership is really not cut out for the challenges of this moment. And by challenges, I mean, not just the streaming challenge, but also the challenges from the political correctness police, right? So you have all of those issues going on as well. Disney is really up against it. And leadership really matters in the time like this. I would just point to bob Iger, and he was CEO of Disney during some really turbulent challenging times. And somehow Disney never quite stepped in it the way they keep stepping in it right now.

2022 NFL Draft Picks With Coach Chan Gailey
"On the clock. Number one again. Second year in a row. What are they going to have? Everything. I mean, seriously. Would you be asking for a trade? No. I think that quarterbacks in general have a certain level of cockiness that they need, and they thank a just get us a little bit. We can go in. And you need that kind of guy that believes in himself so much that he thinks he can take the team and get to where it needs to get to, like a Joe burrow. Joe, I mean, he's got some players around him. Just happened this past year that they got it all together. But it can happen in a short period of time that you can put together some people via free agency and draft and get what you need. To make the next step. But I think everybody would be shocked if they didn't take 8 and hutchison and I could see him taking Ed and Neil from Alabama as offensive tackle to help. Right. Because they do have Trevor Lawrence and they want to protect him. But whatever they're playing is do it. You know, don't just get enamored as you said. Don't get the shiny object out there and what just because the pundits say are going to say, God, what a stupid pick that was. If you don't pick the guy, they think you should be. Or make sure that you pick the guy you believe is going to be the best for your team. Well, always

Is It the End of an Era as Netflix Faces Stagnation Challenges?
"Cut 50 CBS reports on a massive loss by Netflix play cut 50. The streaming service Netflix today reported a loss of 200,000 subscribers in the first quarter of the year. It is the first time in a decade that Netflix has reported a loss of in subscribers and it's at the company's stock plunging by 25% in after hours trading. Netflix is blaming the losses on increased competition, password sharing, inflation, and even the war in Ukraine. Password sharing. Yeah, that's it. Now, Netflix, it's not the war in Ukraine. It's not password sharing. And competition might be a little part of it. It's that no one really wants to see the crap that you're publishing. If you were producing beautiful content, if you were producing stories that were compelling, then people would be flocking to your service. And there's some stuff on it, but generally it's just the same sort of repetitive garbage. People don't want that. And they're starting to show that. And so there are market principles at play here. And you see that with CNN and the question will be how will these organizations and companies keep themselves afloat? What is going to be the bailout model? I mean, you already saw massive media companies be bailed out by taxpayers in the midst of the pandemic through stimulus. You saw huge amounts of taxpayer dollars go to bailout media companies. Then you saw the CDC and NIH come in with incredibly just overwhelming, like just incredible sums of money to advertise the vaccine and to advertise NIH and CDC propaganda. A lot of media companies benefited from that and got a lot of money of your backs, get vaccine and get boosted today. Tons of money for media companies. So we know that. But now those kind of those things are over for right now. So what is going to keep these media companies afloat?
Netflix Tanks 37% On Massive Subscriber Loss
"Netflix is now down by 30 7% their stock. Down 37% in trading. Now it came out yesterday that Netflix reported a loss of 200 thousand monthly paying subscribers during the first quarter of this year. Netflix has embraced the woke agenda completely and totally. Now there's still some good content on Netflix. I canceled my Netflix subscription. Because after they publish cuties, which I believe was very close to child pornography and other people agree, it's hard to not come to that conclusion. There are some fine content on Netflix, their show on Elon Musk is fine. Their World War II documentaries are okay. Sure. But Netflix has gone all in on the diversity equity, agenda. In fact, Netflix has become a mouthpiece for the political correct regime. They've entire categories dedicated to trans content. Entire categories dedicated to fighting racism. Netflix, of course, is now coming up against other competitors, a big push from Disney, the grooming network, big push, which is Hulu, of course. Hulu is owned by Disney, a big push by discovery plus HBO Max and Netflix is now up against the wall. Now you might say Charlie, what's the importance so what if Netflix is cratering? I don't think you quite understand the cultural impact that Netflix has. Over young people and how they view the world. If 200,000 people are divesting from Netflix, they are doing the exact same type of behavior that people do when they say, I'm a little bit overweight, get me some celery juice, get me a gym membership. I'm going to stop going out to the bar every evening and I got to get myself into shape. What you are seeing is an entire country or culture start to kind of sit up straight with their shoulders back and say, that's not making me a happier or better person.

"And it ended in such a blow that I think having that happened to me and seeing that early on in my career really just crystallized this concept and that we have to, and that I had to understand the difference between illusion and skill. Or what was illusion of what was skill and maybe partly, I mean, I was already kind of long haul positioning, but it just further crystallized how powerful this idea is to see that is what somebody is doing actually alpha or is it just what I call risk transfer? Which is alpha that will one day be ripped away from them. Right. Alpha that will one day be ripped away. That's what it looks like to me. And you know, given my bent is to look at fundamentals and given the reality of the industry and the particular business in GameStop and AMC, the valuations like they've come way off, but they're still way too high. And sky high, so many people have so much conviction about it though. Very much like, you know, the Internet is going to take over the world, you know, by whatever it was back in the day, JDS unfazed and you'll never lose money, you know? Right. But the irony is that both can happen, right? The Internet takes over the world. But JD is still a dollar, right? So both things are not independent. That's right. The bubbles, I forget, I think it was maybe gall braids or somebody, you know, the bubble is rooted in truth. It's valid. Right. But it doesn't mean you're going to make any money. Right. Right. Or it doesn't mean that company will continue to lead that for the rest of time or for that much longer. Yeah, so that's the issue. Yeah, of course. And it's so hard to not only differentiate, but it's so hard, I find to have a lot of conversations with young traders and who get very emboldened by early success or kind of buy the dip success and I don't want to be the naysayer in the room and I'll be like, oh, that's great. And just make sure you watch out for I put in my subtle years of experience, but it has people have to learn it and over time, markets teach them. That's the best thing I can say. It's almost unscathed. It's interesting to me, Wayne is that I've interviewed probably, I don't know, a couple hundred people must be on this podcast over the past couple of years. And the story of my career started around the time of the dot com boom and I got wiped out and the next thing that I.

"Makes me wonder, how much attention does Wayne hillside pay to the headlines and to what the Federal Reserve says it's doing or is actually doing even. Yeah, the broad answer is not much. Headlines. Yeah. I don't watch CNBC. I don't read headlines. People have told me way too often that I really you don't know what's going on. And I really don't. That's not where my focus is. There's only so much time in the day to focus on things and to learn and to grow our minds on stuff. So I grow my mind on stuff I care about. And I would rather all day long read another interesting white paper or dig into some concept, I'm working with rather than read headlines because I find that every day it's effectively or every month or every year, it's the same headline. Just take out take out the country name, replace with another. And XYZ suffers. Yes, that happens. That's going to happen. That's the way of the world. And I don't mean to minimize it. I'm a caring person, of course. I care about what's happening in the world from a human perspective. But how it affects the markets, I find the markets tell me that. And I find that the alpha sources we look for shouldn't rely on what's happening out there because the next thing that happens won't look like the last one. So if I rely on the prior one for a behavioral characteristic, I'm going to fall short the next time. And so I want to build something that's not reliant on what the specific headline was. That's robust enough to be agnostic to the type of event, and therefore I don't want to know the type of event. I just want to build something that behaves in the right way. Most of the time. I think I might go farther than you although. I understand the point about not wanting to suggest that you don't care what's happening to other human beings in the world. I get that. But I would go far..

"Mcdonald's customers in the can have the so weedy meal a big mac four piece chicken mcnuggets. Medium fries in a medium sprite tangy barbecue sauce and so weedy and sour sauce. Which is mcdonald's regular sweet and sour sauce. Renamed for the promotion the meal will be served in special packaging that reflects so weedy style. Mcdonald's has had major success with the travis scott and bts meals. Is there a celebrity. That would make you guys personally head to mcdonald's because you wanted to buy their their endorsed meal that's interesting. Yeah the travis. Scott meal has done really well. The j galvin meal is done really well. How about I will sign up. If it is the taylor swift meal which would contain what it would contain a. It has to be light right. It's got to be light so it'd be like a a quarter pounder a small fries and a diet coke. I would not do. It sounds exciting. I've outgrown mcdonald's. I just don't come on mcdonald's. Great man i just don't go there anymore Get stoned go face down in a bag of mcdonald's. There's nothing better than you don't even get this for an ice cream calling or mcflurry once in a while or coffee. Good iced coffee. The mcclure machine's always broken thing. Yeah i went out today. And i asked him if learn this. Oh it's broken. i'm like come on. it's three in the afternoon or whatever. It was lebron meal. Oh talking sports meals would be great like they used to do. Michael jordan ones all the time. Yeah all obviously very very Bob nightingale says dodgers still trying to acquire max scherzer from the nats. Good yes so. It's not it's not dead friedman lind's next so a woman does not want her son to propose with her mother's wedding ring she explained. Why on it's i the a hole for them quote. My son wants to use my mom's rain to propose to his girlfriend. I told him. I won't let him use the ring for the engagement. Only the wedding and only after she signed a legal agreement saying the ring is to be returned to the family in the event of a divorce. My son is furious because he says having that agreement makes it look like they think they're gonna divorce. I admit i think there's a good chance of that. They broken up before and got back together again and they get into massive fights at least once a month so while the mother doesn't oppose her son's marriage she does want to protect the fairly heirloom. Is the mom the whole swipe left or swipe break. I know they say it's her mom's ring right yes. It's down to her from her. I think she has a saying this. I don't think she's in a whole masive. She doesn't want to give up your mom's ring. I think that that's her choice. Her prerogative no think what it's doing is it's not. It's giving a vote of no confidence to this marriage that our son is jumping in to give him the ring. This is the idea of an heirloom. Is you pass it down to the next generation and this woman. She may have doubts. That relationship could be permanent. They could be together forever and the ring makes perfect sense now. The question is if divorce. Does she get the ring back. And i would argue that. The bride probably would not do that. I think most most. What's the word respectable women in the event of a divorce. They would give the ring back if it were a family heirloom. So i think that's one of those. You know whatever baby. If samaras was at work she would give it back. I would think so because it's comes from the family but the fact that the mom wants her to sign a piece of paper saying that. I think that's super tacky. We i do too. I do too. Yeah you can ask somebody to signed an agree. I just. I would hope that if the marriage says a workout. I hope it does. I hope it worked but if it doesn't work out. I think the the girls should return the ring to the family. For that kids next marriage he could be passed from girl to girl girl girl for the rest of that guy's life. Yeah exactly all right. So since i can tell. You guys are totally enthralled with radio tinder. today i'll do one more year. Research at high ended up very unusual day. I understand but you know there's always time for radio tinder. So researchers at the university of vienna discovered that dogs can in certain cases. Now when people are lying. The scientists carried out of study with hundreds of dogs to determine what extent dogs could spot deception. I'm gonna. I'm gonna only yesterday. We just did this story yesterday. Sorry about that. No okay well. What was your question at the end of it. The question was. Do you believe that dogs can tell whether or not you're lying. Do you have a yeah. My question is do you think that you can detect lies better than your dog. Iming have been pretty bad. It's macy's lies actually on the dog. Dogs are very intuitive. You know they're judging there they look at you and they you've got thousands of little gestures and movements and they read all of them. Dogs are dogs are so much smarter than we than we think they are. So i think the dog is probably better at sniffing ally than a person. Although i'll tell you i'm pretty good at sniffing out lives if ireland was doing lie the day. I think i would figure it out. Oh let's switch it up then yeah. Let's switch a week where i do it. Okay i see how you could do or we should alternate. We should alternate on tuesday. It is yeah to do lies. I'll do it tomorrow. Okay good good okay. Something good came out of doing the same story yesterday right. That's right.

"Almost unfathomable the amount of starbucks or they'll have three hall of famers on the same team. This is back to magic or the in korean. No question no question and by all by all signs out there it's happening. Here's a guy named jake fisher who works for bleacher report. Here's what he said. The good news for the lakers is. There's absolutely a large amount of talk from team executives around the league that if the lakers are able to get a big guy they make this home run like russell westbrook. There's a lot of speculation that seems founded that a lot of veteran type players ready and interested to come sign on minimum deals. And go chase this ring with lebron those guys so who knows who's out there and who would come and jumping around because that's what we're doing today Ken rosenthal in this on the baseball. Front the max scherzer front. What day sources say other teams are still trying to top padres offer for sure zor national nationals. Padres essentially have agreed on players in trade situation may be complicated by scherzer's ability to veto any trade and effectively choose his next club. What if the dodgers could sears. The lakers get westbrook on the same day. That would be insane leading one of the great days in mason in ireland history. Oh this show during the show. Let's do this thing. Let's do this thing. You know what else we're going to do. We will. and you know what we're gonna do. Radio tinder coming up next mason. Ireland seven ten. Espn yeah there's apparently a video or a picture of lindsay jumping off a gigantic rock on instagram. Right excellent sure. Is it Scariest thing i've ever done in my life so far so go. Check it out at lindsey baseball and instagram. All right when he made before you get going let me read one the latest update from loach talking about the westbrook to the lakers trade. Which is not done yet. Note is in the works. Here's wedges tweet. From thirty seconds ago this is a trade. Washington wants to make with bradley beal in mind. Creating some salary-cap flexibility for the future to add talent around him. The idea of returning to his los angeles roots is appealing to westbrook. So let's who went to losing your high and went to. Ucla could be playing in his hometown and mace. Here's jeff passan another ball in the air. The los angeles dodgers are finalizing a deal to acquire left-handed danny duffy from the royals. So that's happening. According to jeff passan okay. So they're starting with a. Let's see. Danny i i. I don't know danny duffy off the top of my head. Let's let's look and see what what you say. Do you know. I mean we've never been great pitching in the american league indians. But i mean obviously. I haven't seen. He's had a good year. Not but we can react to that after radio. Generate dodgers acquired. Danny duffy from the twins. He's four and three with a two fifty one. Era in sixty one innings. This year has started twelve games so There is a starter for the dodgers danny duffy from the akc royals so fresh off an nba championship and mvp jaanus. Untended kupu is young and super-rich but that doesn't mean he wants to pay money for things that should be free earlier this week. Yanni's wanted to know how to watch team. Usa basketball sending out a tweet looking for some guidance and his followers broke the news to him and he'd have pay to subscribe to peacock his response. Was if i got to pay never mind you guys paying for peacock just to watch the olympics white bluster. Swipe right it's so funny you bring this up. I just paid for two days ago. It's four ninety five five dollars a month. Because i wanted to watch naomi osaka who i couldn't find anywhere else so i paid the five dollars. Mace it is so hard to navigate. It is where these things are. I think i'm going to. I'm going to go back on it take it. I can't find stupid it. Ticking me off. I think liz you had the same experience. Yea came home from you. Know not having barely any cell service or internet and i wanted to watch the olympics and kip on things and i was flipping around trying just looking for on the tokyo olympics. And it's all these different channels and some my mom hasn't she doesn't then you have peacock it's like there's no good comprehensive list of where what channels you can watch. What things aren't stupid. yeah. I'm having trouble a navigating with peacock and i guess they're putting a lot of the good stuff on peacock and i don't. Is it an app on the tv. What is it. I'm tired of the streaming. Services are too many i get an. I guess they're getting a lot of new subscribers because of the olympics. But it's it's. I'm not going to be one of them. I'm not going to be one of them. it's it's too complicated. It's too complex. My strategy is if i'm watching the olympics watch channel four. I assume. I won't miss anything if i watched channel. Four were to rico. Is doing the anchoring. But beyond that. I not venturing onto usa network. And all these other places. And i'm not paying for peacock. Will they be smart to do is to offer it for free at first. But you know that's neither here nor there all right next one. "Hey i want to tell you about the guilty knees by the way coming up for you done a new trailer park where they're getting a little action coming up. Yeah trailer park. Where they're getting a little action plus any moment. A any of these deals could happen. Mason ireland seven ten. Espn good now. So now wall. Just tweeted lakers are near a deal to acquire russell westbrook for kyle kuzma mantras herrell kentavious caldwell-pope. And they're twenty twenty one first round draft pick which will go down tonight that means i assume if the draft pick is included that this thing could get done quick well. He says they're near a deal. I i mean. I all gone down by the way not in these deals. All that's right. They still have the opportunity to match any offer because they will. It's their own player and they could still sign alex caruso. Who's an unrestricted free agent. Because you'd be signing your own player and you've got bird rights so you could wind up keeping both t. And caruso okay. You know what surprises me here. No schreuder you'll this. Would they would. Ritter for rosen schreuder for derosa intruder derosa well. You don't need shooter. Once you get westbrook correct. That's why you go shooter for derozen schreuder for derozen holy mackerel right. Because they still have that chip. Okay so i know it hasn't happened yet but mesa sick of me saying this but i can't. I can't explain to you guys. How fun russell. Westbrook is to watch. He is a human video game. I always used to joke in macy's to make fun of me that he plays one hundred miles an hour with with hair on fire. But may i know this he puts stats up like no other. This dude is a triple double and he'd be on the same team as lebron ad. I would say so westbrook lebron ad or durant harden and kyrie. I would take the laker guys. I would take the laker guys to a as as long as healthy. I would absolutely take the lakers. In that scenario take the lakers in that scenario. So here's russell westbrook's last three seasons all with different teams. Okay yep so. He was with okay. See in twenty eight twenty nine hundred eighteen okay. So in that year he averaged twenty three points. A game eleven rebounds and eleven assists which led the league for the second consecutive year the next year in houston playing with harden twenty-seven a game seven assists eight rebounds last year playing with bradley beal. Twenty two a game. Eleven assists led the league and eleven rebounds three out of the last four years. He has averaged a triple double. He has led the league in assists three out of the last four years and the one year. He didn't do it. Twenty twenty. Lebron led the league in assists and we would have both of them right. The one question and this is actually a good one from bobby. Manning on twitter lakers who form a real big three with westbrook. But where's the spacing. That's a good question because westbrook does not shoot threes. They need they still need to add three point shooting to get the spacing right right could they. I figure out a way to get healed. I don't know could it be shrewder in a sign and trade for he'll know sacramento doesn't link guards they are right. They're loaded irish haliburton. Yeah yeah yeah i mean. It sounds like the healed train may have moved out of the side. Here's mark stein. Triple double king russell. Westbrook is headed to the lakers. Now that the wizards have swooped in ahead of sacramento to take the lakers trade package. Westbrook and national's max scherzer are likely to be traded on the same day thing. It's a big day in washington. Dc sports radio. Yeah really yeah. The numbers all work. Who's mma trez. Casey p. for westbrook. Who's making forty four point. Forty seven either way on your schreuder walk. He's an unrestricted free age. Why not get something for him and get something for him but the other team enough to play ball sure. Well somebody wants dennis schroder you can get some peace for. I don't want any part of especially now makes no sense deaf schreuder. If you're actually going to do this what what was the mark stein tweet. Mark steyn says it. That westwards coming to the lakers. He does so he's is he calling it done. He is a he basically says it's happening. Now here's bobby marks salary implications on a proposed west trade next year. He makes forty four the year after that. It's a forty seven million dollar player option. So what this does for the wizards is kuzma makes thirteen. Casey p makes thirteen. That's twenty six herald makes ten. That's thirty six. They're committed to thirty six million but they would save money on the deal they would send out forty four and taking thirty six man. Would this be fun crazy crazy. I mean and you are racing. we're seeing how. How do you guard a team with lebron. Russ in a d. Aren't they just going to run while you still need to threes. Though i mean it's still illegal you need to bomb threes. I need that. They need to add shooters shooter or multiple shooters. Okay so remember. I did think you somebody just sent out a picture of the three of those guys with gold medals. Yeah i'll play together and team. Usa may there. There are reports out there. And i don't have specific names for you but it's one of the stories. I sent you guys this morning. There are a bunch of free agent veteran guys who want to come to the lakers. Yes i saw that story. Yeah a play with now would be all three of these dudes..

"You just off the top of my head. I can't see a way to do both. I can't see how the money would work. But rod schneider would have to get a really big number in order to get clue. What's what schreuder plus. Acp you get close to thirty. Three's yeah yeah that's it but who gets to the pick. Yeah yeah i would imagine. Washington gets to pick where we're gonna fight. Well we'll we'll find out if this thing's going down. Why don't we go to the phones. Let's go to rich and seal beach richer on seventy. Espn talking some dodgers rich or deal. Yeah what do you think why i. I'm i'm all for the padres. getting him. dodger fans forgotten. We don't need a starting pitcher like that. All our money's pitches like there's always done to waste. We need kimbrell and we need. Maybe chris bryant's maybe boroughs. We do not need max shurer. Okay now wait a minute. Here's here's what i don't think you're thinking about. It's not just that the dodgers wouldn't get him. It's the padres. Would and if the pod if we go into a series with the padres rich your on they can throw blake snell max. Scherzer yu darvish and joe muss grove at us and we don't have dustin may don't have trevor bauer. We don't know about clayton. Kershaw her shop. Bueller and tony goslin. That's what we got that. That's a pretty good starting lineup. If you asked me starting pitching staff i mean. That's what with john. One more question. If impact westbrook deal goes does go down many many years ago. Nineteen seventy four. My wife got russell westbrook senior job. I will call you back and tell you all about that if we get a. Yeah if we get this guy. And i know it's putting the cart before the horse. I cannot tell you how fun this is to watch. yeah. I've met his father many many times with a great guy he is. I've never met whistle. Junior but i met senior and juniors editing like senior. What a great guy. But i am so excited about this and i hope it goes down all right man. Hey how exciting this. This great day to be on the radio man i. I've been saying this all week. I'm like these things have converged all at once. Nba draft tonight major league baseball trade deadline tomorrow. One nba free agency opens monday. Three all during our show and anything can happen at any moment. You just heard about the westbrook report and we still don't have any confirmation on a done deal yet on max scherzer to the first. Here's more from sham's so maybe it's not. Both shams is saying now. The lakers in wizards are discussing trade. That would send coups herald. Casey ep for westbrook the lakers number twenty two pick in the draft could also be in place so i think it would be one or the other so coups herald casey p. and draft. Pick for. Russ yeah you do that deal you do that deal. And then you know what you got. You got a team with. Lebron you gotta team with Russell westbrook you've got a team with a d. And you got a bunch of veterans are going to want to come here and play. What john hollinger doing. He just tweeted as with healed rumored trade. Nothing can happen until trez picks up option. He that happened half an hour ago. John hollander injure wolves reported that half an hour ago. Program oh this is interesting. Go to robert in oxnard. Hey robert you're on seven ten. Espn hi hey how you doing today. Iraq raisman how you doing. I love hearing you guys I got a little tidbit and the origin of quotes for. You can't k- wet so back in the day They used to load fighter. Planes with twenty seven feet. Long belts worth of ammo and they used to go out and they used to come back. They used to Ask them hey. How'd you do so. The fighter pilot would say i gave him the whole nine yards. Good one good one. Yeah i love that stuff. I love that. Thank you robert appreciate that. Why don't we go to eric. Who's just driving just driving somewhere. eric eric. Driving you're on seven ericsson go to rain culver city. Hey ray there yeah. Yeah except. I don't really care about how the dodgers a one game okay. We're we're not getting. i'm sorry man. Yeah you're you're al. We got a bad connection. I am. I'm just something's going to happen during the show. Something's going to happen during the show. You end up. Happening is russell. Westbrook is going to end up on the padres max. Scherzer act sure who the lakers and and russell westbrook to the padres. That would be very disappointing. That would be very disappointing. And i just hope it's not remember that show. He did years ago in twenty eleven. When the lakers. Chris paul and we were coming out of our shoes and then it all turned out to be a fairy tale. David stern blocked it. The deal was actually done in david. Stern blocked it. We actually had confirmation of that particular trade. I think it was. I mean. I think it was as close to a done. Deal could be david. Stern weighed in and said put some on the scale and said nope not doing it. Can you imagine if the if the max scherzer thing reverses course dodgers could sherzer and the lakers get westbrook all before four o'clock. Let's have a pray man. It's crazy right now. it is crazy. It's a good time to be listening. We these deals are done by the way. But they're fun to talk about. Nothing's done nothing's done aright..

"I'd i didn't wanna dream about it yet. I can you imagine all of that. Star power by the way google russell. Westbrook anthony davis. They love each other interesting. Yeah he wants that. Deal now into sham. Now he wants to come to the lakers. Wait a minute could. They know they couldn't do both right. I don't know could they get buddy hield and you'd need like one of those cap guys you need your larry coons or your eric pinkus or the guys do that. Could they do both of those deals. What do they have if they do. The buddy he'll drew deal. What do they have left to trade to. It would be a sign and trade involving schreuder shrewd or but it would have to involve more than that. I was raring. Casey p sure sign and trade with casey p that gets you ten plus whatever you get for schreuder. You still need to get to a gigantic number. What's westbrook as is hit forty. Yeah so really tough number to get to. I can't see how they would be able to do the healed trade and the west if if if he could pull that off if pelinka can pull that off just you know. He's genius together. A two weeks ago tweets at us. Can you please explain how we have to trade for demographia. Free agent kenny. Come to the lakers and free agency. If he takes a pay. Cut a tremendous pay-cut louise he would have to come for the mid level exception. Damore about twenty million a year. So the reason you're hearing other player he would sign with the spurs and then be traded for another player. Because the lakers would need to move money. You can't the lakers. Don't have any cap space so they would send players out while i can. You think of the lakers with buddy healed and russ let's dream a little bit. Those two yacht an unbelievable playmaker and you add. This is exactly what they need. They need a playmaker and a three point shooter. Get both in that scenario and you get one of the best playmakers in the game right. So this is what i think. We should do. Keep an eye on the pick. Because both the wizards and the kings would want that pick tracked. But what what's interesting is this would be i. I wouldn't think.

"Landed since the dodgers knocked them out last year. They've landed blake. Snell yu darvish. Joe muss grove. Who threw a no hitter this year. Who wasn't on their staff last year. And now max scherzer. Four starting pitchers adam frazier and all star second baseman and they already had fernando to and all those dudes so i think on paper. Don't you think the padres become the team to beat their five and a half back. How many how. Many back of the dodgers are they to back. Two and a half three and a half of the dodgers. The dodgers losing four to nothing in the fifth today and seven so the padres if they played mean it's thursday i don't know if they play or not but they could pick up a game and in your buddy bickford is in there for the dodgers. They'll bickford who do you want to go to. Who do you want on that wall. Bickford rock and the crazy mullet baseball players are allowed to get away with haircuts that nobody else could get away with. Like if i if i fill bickford zehr stairs but as a baseball player. You're like you're allowed to do whatever you want with your hair. You're allowed to mohawk. You're allowed to. I guess i would call that the super mullet that phil buck bickford. Scott think he doesn't cut it. He doesn't get his hair. Yeah no it. Just just completely. Let's go pitchers This is their. This is their jam. This is their thing now. I i wanted to get to something by the way if you're a dodger fan. How concerned are you eight. Seven seven seven ten. Espn about max scherzer. If in fact the deal is completed and he goes to the padres so one thing that came up last night that i thought was interesting and good for us a good for I forget the name of the girl that won the all round at the olympics. Fantastic simone biles. Did not compete. She did and she won but what it came across yesterday. What was the first episode about. Ted ted lasso. About what do you mean what was it. What was it about the added. They added a psychologist sports psychologists to the team because somebody had the y. Word right the yips right and they were very superstitious about even saying it now. I really row. Sa- miles has got had the what's called the twisties which are basically the yips for gymnasts. Right which you can't mess around with. No you can't you mean if you if you are. Yeah i again. We talked about this at length yesterday. But i don't understand the hate for simone biles. yeah i just. Don't i think she deserves sympathy. Okay i wanted to throw this out there too. We'll get your calls here in a minute. I found another origin of expression thing. Okay and this is. It'll cost you an arm and a leg. Do you know the origin of the expression. It'll cost you an arm and a leg. No okay so in the seventeen hundreds. There were no cameras. One image was either sculpted or painted prices changed by painters. Were not based on how many people were to be painted but how many limbs were to be painted arms and legs are limbs therefore painting them would cost the buyer more hence the expression. Okay but it will cost you an arm and a leg hold on. I'm writing this down the list. Yeah we do that here. We do that here. Lynn how you. They finally sniffed out a lie yesterday. Lindsey i think that one is that i think that was sounds like it's legit. Okay good good mathu right now is. It's on the list unless list exactly aright coming up next door. You'll get some of your calls if you're a dodger fan. How concerned are you eight. Seven seven seven to ten. Espn if in fact the deal is completed max. Scherzer to the padres and the dodgers. The this is an arms race in the west. I just read a tweet from from a blue checkmark. That said it's likely that. Jose barrios and craig kimbrel still wind up in the national league west. So they're loading up eight seven seven seven ten. Espn mason ireland seventeen. Espn all right. So couple of thinks her first of all whoa jr now confirming that landry. Shamet who had been linked to the lakers to some degree has been traded to the phoenix suns. Apparently monty williams coached landry. Shamet in philly at some point and really loves the guy. So he's off the board now for the for the lakers. The lakers are working on a deal. That would send kyle kuzina and mantras herald. Who just opt in to sacramento for buddy healed and that gives them a three point. Shooter is what they could have desperately needed this past year in the playoffs and during the regular season. And he's one of the best three point shooters or is we're also keeping track of Max scherzer whether or not he is going to move to the padres. As jim boden said a little while ago on twitter a deal sending max scherzer to the padres is inches away. Inches away But but so far not confirmed not confirmed yet. We have dodger deal in a laker deal. All at the same uh-huh hang on shams. Toronto lakers and wizards are engaged on a trade. That would send russell westbrook to la. Westbrook wants a move elsewhere. He wants to move elsewhere. And the lakers are preferred destination. Ho lakers and wizards engaged on a trade. That would send russell westbrook to the lakers. How exciting is this. That is incredible. Can you imagine russell westbrook what what an entertaining team to watch and finally westbrook with a chance. Since his oklahoma city days a chance to actually win something. He sort of been out of the mix. The last few years at one of the flat out was talented players in the game. John ireland's favorite player in the league to watch the games for the idea of him. Playing for the lakers has got thrill you..

"Follow in pretty much everything. Do you question you give us topics and events. We questioned him. She's not wrong you question. Quit your should enroll. Early at ohio state is so quinn. Yours is probably one of the most well known high school football players right now. He's a quarterback is the number one recruit. He looks like this if you haven't seen him. He's got sick lettuce as charlie would say he's got yeah. He's got a blond mullet and because of this and also i assume his talent there's been interested in sponsoring him. Sponsorship money namely from one company called holy kabukicho which is a thing people are into. I guess anyway. He's being offered a bunch of money but because he's a high school student in texas he is not able to take that money so the question now is should he go to ohio state where he has verbally committed early so that he'll be able to take advantage of the new name image and like his rules that will allow him to take sponsorship money. Either way sick haircut bro. I totally appreciate you. And your love of kombucha. Yeah i totally appreciate that. He looks kind of like what john daly would look like in a movie about john daly of john. Daly got to pick. Who played john daly. Should he leave high school early to like hawk. Kabukicho and spread the gospel of the gut bio and on that level like it does feel like texas as a state like i understand texas. You know like friday night lights thing. I am kind of shocked that texas has not yet allow the monetization named and likeness for its athletes have lead to compete with other states. Where they're high schoolers can do that. Keeping them in the state high school that seems to be something that they would care about but it does feel like if you got to go. Make your money because sports mortalities a real thing. I do not blame. Young john daly. Yeah i don't know what is right for quin years in his family. But what i think is unequivocally good is that he now has the option to choose. What is right that every athlete does high school. Athlete does can make that decision. Based on their individual goals in financial circumstances he has choices. He has options. He has that haircut. Which i will one note by the way while it is distinct in. I think a large part of the reason why he's probably getting these offers from a talent he's said it's also not unique so i have seen ruin yours throw. I went to the elite eleven competition a few weeks ago and when i went to football field looking for him i actually found myself in a worse waldo situation because like ten kids with that exact haircut. That is what kids do now yet. What are we doing. The bleach mullet is the trend. Do you question. Bob bulls signature. All right bob bowls be the commissioner the big twelve. The big twelve is upset. They're very upset and they're trying to figure out who to blame. They can't blame enough people right now. Currently i think it's us. I think we are partially to blame. Bob boles be sent a cease and desist letter to espn. And here's how he signed it at the bottom. What i love how. It's very clear he is the second that part you can definitely make out. I see it looks like it says many nothing bigger than where you can like. Imagine the person writing it very clearly. Can you pull that up again. Where is not. why are they're fun. Book you saying six psych. I follow the are in the kind of an. Oh i guess but then there's no there's only one t in his whole name. Why does the roscoe through the entire you can. It's a great question. We call him. Bob bowls v but his name is robert bulls v. And i can tell you what happened here just looking at that. Which is he wrote robert. And then press the t. And then it just got away from him not unlike texas in. Oh oh robert. Math says when to great things come together. They make something greater..

"Hey aaron if you're looking for love. They drafted him in twenty twenty Sean payton right to be salty with michael thomas. So michael thomas you'll remember got hurt week one of last year. He missed weeks. Two through eight weeks fifteen through seventeen. He missed a sizeable chunk of time. With an angle. Ankle injury The team said that he would be conservative with his injury over the off season and nobody really knows what that means but it turns out. He waited till june to get surgery on the ankle. Which means that now he will be missing. Time this upcoming season as well sean. Payton was asked about this yesterday. And here's what he had to say. Look it appears we're gonna have to spend some time without him. It's disappointing and we'll work through it with the other players that are here but the surgery took place and obviously you know we would have liked that to have happened earlier than later and quite honestly. It should've can you explain. I mean was there a lack of communication in between or nope. I'm going to leave it at that. Let's have to leave it at that because it's like did you can't do that did you. Tell him to get the surgery. Did you make sure he was getting the surgery. Either way i can understand the frustration right. The saints released emmanuel sanders. The saints have chris hogan who once played receiver for the patriots. Left to play lacrosse for a little. Bit is now back to football. They don't know who their quarterback is and there in the market for a cornerback. So i can understand hoping that a guy that's something you can depend on would come back and be ready to play and be an elite player at the same time looking at the same thing from the other side for michael thomas perspective. It probably feels like he doesn't want to be the only guy in the team who's very strong. I don't know i it selfish. It's probably selfish but look at you. Only get so many summers in your life and maybe just wanted to spend his not a recovering from surgery. That's just a guess. And i who am i to say. Yeah shadow to scotty. Pippin funny to be watching that video. Coming off of the aaron rodgers video where. Aaron rodgers wasn't passive aggressive us just aggressive aggressive. And then you've got sean payton. They're is like really heavily implying that he is not happy with michael thomas and he is right to be not happy based on what we know. Not because of the timing of all but because as katie laid out they desperately need michael thomas and sunday that always bothered me about the saints over the last year not to sustain the nfl discourse in general. Is this presumption that the salary cap isn't real all look at new orleans. They're spending all this money in doing. All these weird cat gymnastics in it. Nothing matters they can have whatever they wanted in do whatever they want and no they can't because we are now in the hangover like they rack our bill and they are suffering as a result and that is why your emmanuel sanders. No longer there in this one. They had to go out and sign. Chris hogan when we used to joke about chris hogan plan for the patriots in being like bill. Belichick of course signs. The guy looks like he plays lacrosse. Katie as you said. He played lacrosse last year. That's who they thought the guy who was playing lacrosse last year. I mean granted. He was a good nfl wide receiver at one point but the saints desperately need michael thomas so for him to be unavailable to them for at least a month. It is honestly devastating for this team. Does feel about the media puts that does feel like the same salary. Cap management is a little lax. Oh y you just really to end the topic there. Don't even let him say that. I think we just end it. Yeah dismount no up next on. Hq yeah i totally appreciate that. He looks kind of like what john daly would look like in a movie about john. Daly of john. Daly got to pick..

"And he's already said to your earlier point that the us hamas watching very closely those negotiations that are going on with australia to see how far the uk is willing to go and tons of standards the timeframe you look at the us lobby so we've got a culture and then there's the tech industry another issue here is in the uk. There are greater protections for the individual who uses technology and data protection and as well as financial protection highest status in there on the u. s. And that is something that both sides are going to have to negotiate. What will that mean. Which side is willing to concede to make sure that there's agreements. I think the overriding big picture here is that. It's in the interest of both nations to get the deal done as quickly as possible. So actually no i don't think it will be is sink. It will be before the twenty two mid. Tom's so that the democrats list something else onto the belt but in terms of the the body of work needed to go through. Because i guess the uk didn't already have an existing free trade agreement with the us via its membership of the eu. There so much up for grabs as you say there is absolutely yes something that i haven't mentioned of courses in addition to those in the nfc jessica Are you've got the data protections we didn't talk about the financial industry will find here in the. Us wants access. The city of london back is a lost lobby. You have the whole of this lead in new york powerbrokers. Wait an influence that they have. They won't great to access so they want access to the city of london and they won't that because of course now with the regulation with regard to the eu. There's been a lot of us banks. Morgan stanley goldman sachs setting up operations in the uk. So the uk wants to make things appealing as they possibly can for the financial sector philip henry ford which push american business association on the prospects of a uk. Trade deal will move deeper into list. Trusses intri now and think about canada having from colin robertson vice president and fellow canadian global affairs institute told me that was there were lots of opportunities to be created from an enhance free trade deal with canada canadian businesses most of all looking for continuity from the current rating system of the uk. Well i think they have rich person. Who trades wants to have continuity. Doesn't want to have any in your options. Because u k is such an important trading partner not just for goods but also for services and a lot of investment coming from the uk into canada. So essentially what. Canadians want is continuity. And i think we'll take this opportunity to perhaps take a look at how we can update and make some improvements that the the base is going to be the canada europe i will be called the comprehensive economic trade agreement which had been negotiated with the uk and the other members of the european union Four years ago after it took about ten years and so then. Britain was a major player in that britain in particular pushed hard on the strategic partnership agreement which is separate from the the the trade agreement but covers almost everything else politics defense as security science cooperation. That kind of thing and so what is left may be physical on on the table for the canadians in terms of enhancing the agreement with the uk. What actually might want to go beyond. What's already been agreed. Well i think we'll take a look at the investment chapter investment disputes a chapter which has been quite controversial within europe and is probably holding up the ratification by the member countries. The issue would be what we call investor dispute. What would it mean. Says if if a government body is involved in something it can be argued that this constitutes a subsidy or interference by that government and There are also sub state actors candidate courses federation or provinces are involved in our provincial government sometimes legislated to a particularly in a regulatory Frontier related to say the environment. They may say a certain added to that is used in. Britain is not permissible here. That would potentially give the british Export or grounds for live liability action if this action happened after they'd already had an existing trading relationship interesting enough they whenever we talk about these these trade deals we just in terms of the uk will meet austrailia thing holding up as a beef cattle farming and to be the the the the point of dispute especially here in the uk with the american one at the idea of chlorinated chicken all of a sudden entering our markets and with the canadian one way to continue the food theme. Boris johnson owner of the day. Saying that the uk was eager to secure a wide ranging deal with canada because he wants to get affordable high-quality bush's cheese to canada right. And said you just put your finger on it. We have different standards as you say that. The americans have what they call chlorinated chickens. The australians like the canadians in their beef probably use hormones to your point on the cheese and dairy products. We were kind of kind of a quota system so that farmers can produce so much a milk product which goes into cheese. Which of course is at issue here. And we to preserve that we have very high tariffs so ranging from two hundred and fifty three hundred percent effectively this keeps out any foreign cheese because tariffs prohibitive but what we have negotiated over time with trading partners so we call tariff rate quotas in in other words. There's a certain amount of cheese. Britain could export to canada without the tariffs applying. It's very low. We focus only opened up about four percent of our market when we negotiated with the european union the comprehensive economic trade agreement the british were pushing us hard to open up our ours are dairy market essentially cheese market and we did but of course the european union when britain brexit from that they kept most of those quotas so the british will be starting in a sense from a more vulnerable position. Because they'll be saying what we'd like to now to increase that access to the canadian market. The canadian dairy farmers are going to say not not a chance..

I always seen in my life that you learn I learned the most when I teach something. . You certainly, , I've learned on this podcast that you certainly learn. . where the holes are where you've sort of. . Lightly. . You know treated lightly intellectually that you've sort of breezed through some major point and you've been amazing it kind of poking. . The holes out and saying here. . And I. . Don't understand this and this doesn't make sense and so on. . So that I've learned a lot actually on this podcast. . About how to teach it maybe. . That's Nice I wasn't trying to poke holes. . I was just trying to understand what's the best the best rationale for poking holes trying to understand. . So we're wrapping up something here. . What are we wrapping up? ? The management of the business were understanding the management of the business? ? As one of our major checklist items and we've covered. . The fact that management is is good if the company has little or no debt Rico, , his high again smaller R. E is high nuggets smaller. . It's got low maintenance capital expenditures. . Free cash flow is a big chunk of earnings. . Owner earnings is a big chunk of earnings. . CEO's experienced. . Got A great track record. . Believe they have integrity pay is reasonable based on long-term success so they're on the same side of the table is us which we talked. . About. . Is. . Somewhat. . problematic. . Super Interesting. . Last thing is that management is buying their stock. . which is wait a second. . Okay. . I write each one down. . And I make a little check box because it's a checklist. . Say it again. . The whole thing? ? No. . Just in the newest one Lewis one the last one. . Number management is buying their stock. . Is. . Buying their staw. . That means insider trading. . We'll show that the management team is reporting that they're buying their own stock out in the market and pain real money. . Okay so you set a couple of things there. . One is they're buying it off. . The market rate public market. . So. . What you're talking about there is that when somebody who's an insider like an executive is they have to report to the SEC in the US is how it works. . They have to report to the SEC that they have bought the stock of their company and the se then puts it out publicly so that we all know what's going on and if they sell, , they have to do the same thing. . So we just know kind of like what's happening Rather, quickly , to forty eight S. . yeah. . And they have to tell us what price they paid for it. . How many shares they bought? ? True. It's . quite. . Quite comprehensive and we get to see. . that. . All important information why is that important? ? because. . They only buy their stock for one reason. . and. . That's because it's GONNA go up. . There's a lot of reasons why somebody might sell a stock who's in a management position But if it's a significant purchase, , we'll talk about that in a second. . There's only one reason that management make significant purchases of their own stock at market prices through the public market, , and that is because that is going up in their opinion doesn't mean they're right. . All the time, , but it is a heck of a great signal. . That something good is in the works you may not see in the numbers. . But these guys are the on the very inside and it's not illegal for them to do that. . That's. . Think. . Really astonishes some people. . because. . Obviously, , management knows things that have not been disclosed to the to the. . Public. . And yet they can buy their own stock based on that inside information. . When if they told me if if somebody from Armada Hoffler for example, , which is like a family owned company largely public company, , but our family owns a big chunk of it. . If. . If someone on the inside of that company told me something. . About the company that had not been released to the public and I went and bought the stock. . I go to jail. . Go to jail. . That's what they got. . Martha. . What's her name? ? Martha Stewart Mother Stewart. . Martha. . Stewart. . They didn't actually get it for inside trading I. . Think they could. . They got her for lying about it. . Yeah, , and she went and did jail time. . So this is a really interesting loophole in the law for insider trading, , and that is a management team absolutely combined their own stock without disclosing this new information to the public. . As long as they. . File with the SEC within forty eight hours that they bought the stock. . So this is important information because it's kind of the equivalent. . Of going public with some new information. .

The suggestion get across there and have a look at the video that stayed on the t x perpetual contracts of pain focusing on little to watch there for you guys and it's free so go and check out what. I want to show you this. I want to show you try that I took yesterday. I WanNa give you the reasoning behind it. I WANNA give you an entire understanding of what I'm looking for and why I'm looking for a thing. It's going to help already do. If you're a trade it will certainly help at least perspective. If you're not trading the I tried that's fine but I think it will give you a lovely to perspective is to try to Tom's and the power of cryptocurrency. Because look let's be honest. It can just flip so quick. It concerns a quick. You can make your money of the month in a single twenty four hour period and that's pretty much. What happened for me yesterday? So I'm very happy. I'm feeling very good and I wanNA talk through the market among because obviously you guys have made very aware that I've been talking about that ninety nine thousand eighteen. We broke up through that yesterday. I before. Sorry and then. We've we've seen that continuation push on through knuckles. Bitcoin did have a good day yesterday. You know another fall through full percent die before full percent To goodful percent days. That's really nice to say really really great stuff. Nothing knocking it out of the park but if you recall my said that little turn of trend at nine thousand I tain well. That guy is about roughly a thousand bucks to our resistance. Plenty of money. We made in that period time. So that's what's been going on and not only we say. Bitcoin move but we seen the rest of the market. Move very very well indeed. So I'm very happy with the way. Things are looking shopping at very very nicely. Does this mean bitcoin GonNa kick going? Higher probability was stuck more to the upside at the minute. But this is crypto. This is a mock can never know what's going to happen. All I can ever do is tried based off the probabilities that I have been using for years. That that's really all of somebody told me today. That some cow don was endorsed by Goldman Sachs. I haven't gone on proof that or anything like that MS site. Someone something that somebody told me that could have been move Kudzanai. But it wasn't what got man I go before that because I had a trade I got an opportunity can can technical analysis get it like you know. Tell you before these things no of course not but I can tell you this if you trading with the trend. You're usually going to be traveling in the direction that there's more than likely going to be used. That's that's what I found anyway and A my experience as a all we're trying to do is use a trading strategies to get us into the market and the market will do what the market does so very very good Currently we are down point seven ovalles percent on Bitcoin. A theory in right now is two hundred and twenty two dollars. Six ends up point seven percent yesterday. Fought point eight percent move. Really Nice moved once again. They by the theory pushing on through a level of resistance. That resistance was sitting running around that two hundred seventeen dollars on the daily now has an option once a guy with a high a high coming in yesterday and we push a little bit tonight as far as training opportunities for me right now. I'm waiting for pullbacks really am they're pulled back in the cradle on the four hour yesterday as well as on the two hour really. It'll pull bucks. But the problem was didn't have enough trended to be actually in the market trading that so I didn't take that that's what took took. Currently with exile paves slow slowing pay. Gee Whiz I wish it would do something. It's not done a lot for quite a while but that doesn't mean that a warrant do something still is except pay is still a big company that we currently down point up. Point one of a percent sitting Ronaldo's of twenty cents and that's kind of what we closed yesterday twenty cents. It was up one point three percent. It's got to push on. It's got to get above the high of twenty point eight. We get through that twenty point night will do have something of a stronger trend at that moment. Actually say some follow-through buying on Exa pave. The tank is pretty Pretty Flat Bitcoin. Cash has been quite messy on the daily. Now for what? Gee Whiz? That's April through. I land night to be fair. It really hasn't had that much major. It's not trended. Well is dropping. Look confused to be honest. It's up three percent yesterday. Closing at two hundred and fourteen. Dole's on the is up half percent today as I speak at two forty one fifteen but yes doesn't ask for Al Trendy but this better markets out there for modest and that's what I'm focusing more attention base vigorously also closed up early point one percent A closed the die at one ninety two spot eight five currently. We've pretty much flat on that number child. Let Him all that interesting. The moment eat up like going well yesterday. Up to eight percent closing a forty four spot. Seven five four hour here on this lot. Corn perpetual doesn't look too bad. It's just not really beautiful That I like to say when I am looking for that. Thank said the followed by the sixty now. There is an offshoot of the trend. There as I talked to you doing this. Podcast actually drawing in some levels. Because maybe we'll get a boost up. The answer is neither Lineup so it's really about just whiting. I'd I love that. Trend SAIMAA is up half percent forty five dollars on the noise. It's worth keeping an eye on though I will say that over the weekend. They us while had a pretty good die on a pretty good start today as well. Yesterday was only at one point five. We're already at one point five. Today we sitting at tweedle sixty five cents. A little bit with A little bit of momentum coming in to that and looking much better not the best child at their bonnets. Three point six percent Roy. Yesterday on the clause closing at seventeen dollars seven cents right now. It is not on my watch list. It does have some NAS momentum. I do WanNa see a four hour. Pullback that's the that's that Kaduna the big dog. The one that made me happy. Yesterday I guy in of seventeen point seven percent on the clothes closet. Six point four cents. Why Lightness Joe across the Youtube and watch the video. That's getting uploaded. It will be that when you get there because it will break down. Exactly why shows Donna? Revenue else Took took a tried during the day on. Donna took prophecy PERP on In the evening as well which I am currently now along any profit on Skylab Kaduna twice of locked in a big wedge of Prophet it cannot be lost now. It is a fantastic tried. It's definitely much trade all the wake now. Well what are waiting for now? Not a great deal. It's just run so hot and fast on. There's not much for me to do at the moment other than just manage the position that I still have running theorin. Classic has jumped out of the bolt. Today while broke through a bit of resistance carly today it's up four and a half percent at seven dollars marina seven dollars and eighteen cents yesterday closed. It's only at one point. Two percent yesterday closing at six dollars. Eighty six cents. That's a little bit of a one that got away because there was a lovely little breakout level. Again it's shining the trivia. It just didn't quite get the third tests that are needed to shine because if it had of fire off if it had would have had another prophet in but alas keep it in the list because there is a nostrand debt and I do like the look of this on IOS running at top ten. Hit Sean at half a percent today. Not much going on today. But yesterday. Three percent up closing at one point five one sense still crab will a bit tron. It's kind of looking in lock. I agree there you know in the United States for instance what defines US Culture. I mean you know somebody in New Hampshire versus somebody in You know New Mexico you're dealing dealing with different folks eating different foods and all these sorts of things that people will argue very strong there is they certainly have a lot that I mean. A lot of people have similarities but they also have have differences. And that's why I questioned the idea of the monolithic culture. Everybody I know is multicultural. In things they enjoy join the things they appreciate. Maybe they like anime. Maybe they love Chinese food even if it's not as authentic as it could be although my dad taught the thing to do. Is You look for the Chinese restaurants that have Chinese people eating there. And he's his Benda China and but the I guess the point that I'm trying to make here. Riches is that you know probably food. Probably language enrich loser things. You can some music to some extent but remember the United States we have lots of different genres. And the also be a second round pick going to New Orleans as they get compensated. You couldn't have got. Make me your attention for a second round pick right at ten days ago. But they waited out the price came down, and the bucks very aggressively. Make this move to improve themselves already the number one team in the east got better. These guys this trade came at the right seriously as we're coming on the air. You guys were like poor Stanley Johnson. You got traded twice in less than twenty four hours, but to go back to mirror tits move. This was a Hughes pickup from the walk at all. There's a number one team in the east then wanted a better shooting teams in east, and if you watch Mirta slasher in the playoffs he went off he went off into at that already with they have the Eastern Conference should be very wary. Now, I think they actually because before I had everybody on the same level. I think Milwaukee Bucks took the lead today. I think they took the head shoulders leap above the rest of the team in the Eastern Conference. I mean, they already there. They got the record. But the match ups, and I just felt like, you know, even though they had a best record. They weren't clearly better in the seven game series. Then like Celtics Billy Toronto. But I think this leapfrogs the here's why I love this rate. Because in my opinion yawn is has been playing MVP level since day one, and he is not a player that spreads the floor. He is a God at applies pressure on your defense by penetrate through the defense with mirrors and these other guys because they already a great three point being he just adds to that he adds to that for God that competitor to the defense and make plays. I agree. This pushed them up there with the Toronto's in the Boston's we just didn't know how they will play in a playoff series seven game series. If they could get to that next level. This pushed them there. No. Puts favorite. I thought they were coming out with. Thank you Ellie favorite. To me, we wondered what would happen Eastern Conference after LeBron James left. Right. Turns out there has been an arms race. Everybody wants to be that team to finally there's some clear air. We wanna make it to the finals in the last what forty eight hours we've seen Philadelphia step in and say, no, no, no. It's going to be us. We have a big four now. Now, you see Milwaukee. They're upping the stakes. I'm curious if this first Toronto to do something significant in the next hour Toronto has been engaged in talks on the board from your tits. Trying to make this happen. Obviously got beat out by Milwaukee who reportedly is giving up four second round picks in this deal for second round picks. We'll go to New Orleans, according to multiple reports that are out there right now. That's a good hall for mere Tich. Although some of the picks might be low Toronto has dangled Kyle Lowry out there over the last forty eight to seventy two hours, that's a tough trade to pull off. They're trying to talk to about to Memphis about Mike. Conley. I don't know if that gets done, but it wouldn't surprise me. Toronto is active on the phones right now as you said. Rachel. Well, I mean, it's interesting because they have the extra pressure of Leonard. Right. It's not like, oh, well, we don't make it this year. We'll try again next year like they have the past couple of seasons. It's we have to do something that is going to make Leonard want to stay that puts extra pressure on them for the next couple of hours. We will be waiting to see messiah Jerry what you do. Because this trade crank is going to be ready. Let's talk about this a little bit more. Because last night he dropped forty three points in a out of the wizards. It was one shy of a career high in the fourth quarter. He was caught mouthing..
"l trade" Discussed on The Woj Pod
"Also, and yeah, I think Darren was a little bit different because we got him into trade. We'd missed out on Carmelo in two thousand eleven weeded got him in a trade. And that's when you speaking of, you know, quick trade demands right with Darren Williams, very quick trade demand. And he was out almost as quickly as Kristaps was today. It was similar, you know, it's funny. We we we had found out on Monday. This is one you could make trades after all star weekend the Monday that Carmel is going to New York and the next morning I walked up to Billy kings office. He said. What do you think about this deal? It was Darren Williams, and that was done the next, you know, basically, we kind of we slept on that was done the next day. I mean that was nobody knew about that. That was a that was a quick one had the falling out with Jerry Sloan and management to said, we are siding with Jerry. We're not going down this road. And before anybody knew I was New Jersey still we were still in new or newer and Derrick favors and to first mum does Davis Derrick favors, Devin Harris. Yeah, that's right to number ones that turned into an Kanter was one of them. But yeah, but Darren was different because we weren't very good. And we were going to Brooklyn eventually, and we really had to go out and make deals to try to convince him to stay a little bit different in Boston where you went out and got general Wallace. Joe? I mean, the Joe Johnson the crazy part about Joe Johnson. Anybody knows about this the? Joe Johnson trade was that we did that deal without its commitment from Darren Williams, you know, we agree to that and late June. And there we we hadn't even met with Darrin yet. And then when Darren we met with Darren and underlined, I I mean, we didn't know until July fourth I think he and the best part was is that, you know, I I don't know if I've ever talked about, but he'd come the pre come to we met with him and he'd come to the facilities for four days in a row and work out. What else we have an answer? So he he drive in and you'd see him, and then he'd go work out with our coaches is he's staying committed. And by the third day. I remember Billy king saying to me, you know, what I'm just going to walk away. What's it? We're gonna we're gonna go out and go get Gorn drug each. And I said to him Bill you we Cam we traded for Gerald what we signed gera- walls. We gave picked turn and Damian Lillard Joe Johnson. In hindsight, we probably should have just walked away and gone after gore and drag it, but yet invested so much, right? So when you look at it, you, you know, Jason was different because you had a good team ready. Like Boston Darren was basically you go out and make those and that's the hard part. When you go out and make you get a guy on on a rental. Technically, you go out and make some bad deals to try to appease that player there. Yeah. And I think the one thing Boston has been able to do and Danny aines has done..
