"What it is? With Kyrie Irving, Irving still on the roster, and I say no, because you can't play emea DOCA defensive system. No. With Kyrie. Out there for 40 minutes a game. It would be a disaster. We've seen it especially in the postseason. We're seeing it in this series right now. We've seen it for years when he doesn't have an amazing defense around him to protect him. It would help. It would still be a great defense, but it wouldn't be this good. And so in a way, now if the subjects continue this run and somehow get to the finals here, again, a long way to go, but in terms of their long-term trajectory, I think the possibilities of what this roster can become, the upside is almost better without Kyrie in the picture and all the baggage he brings. Yeah, because and I love this. I mean, this is homegrown. Like this is the approach that I wanted all the time. Back in 2018, right? So I'm writing for the sports hub website. I write a thing about why the Celtics should not trade for LeBron or sign LeBron or whatever, when LeBron was a thing and people were going out there trying to court him. And a bunch of people picked it up, you know, like deadspin kicked me around a little bit. It was just like, oh, great, you know, this is good. I'm getting some attention for my quote unquote, hot take, but really I just didn't want LeBron on the Celtics. And I wanted them to be a team that I could get to know, watch, grow, maybe raise my kid on a little bit, like these are some players that we can expect to see here, you know, we have a real kinship with them, like this is the ultimate goal. Again, I will keep saying this. I'm not going to come on here and get yelled at and called green teamer because I'm praising the Celtics right now and they haven't actually accomplished the ultimate goal. I think there is some reason to say that we really like what we're seeing here. And it's just, it's fun for me to have it go this way, particularly when everyone was naysaying. You know, that this wasn't the approach or the Celtics needed that third star. You know, like all the conventional MBA stuff they need to build a super team..

"I'll be pretty sorry walking the dock here. Sure. This is going to do it. I just want to talk about Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. You know, Kevin Trent is getting what he richly deserves. And if he should be irritated, he shouldn't be irritated with Kyrie, but himself because he hitched his wagon to a guy who missed a bulk of the games this season due to not getting the vaccination. Then decides to do the Ramadan, which I can respect, but you're in the playoffs right now. They're not gelling and you know how they're not young is because they didn't have an opportunity to play together. I mean, if he's irritated, he should be irritated to Kyrie, but more of himself. I mean, you hit your wagon to the sky, this is what you get. He bailed on Boston's last season and, you know, he's going to mail it in again. It's just, he's richly getting what he deserves. I just wanted to touch on that. You know, I mean, I'm enjoying seeing the collapse of Brooklyn, you know? They wanted during the, you know, during the all star break, wanting to get together. So, you know, what comes around goes around and I'm enjoying the karma. That's all I wanted to say. Yeah, thank you, Joe. And I mean, that's certainly the mentality around here. You know, you look at it from a national lens P rob, do you think that a lot of the folks out there are looking at Durant and there's always legacy talk and this and that and just kind of saying it's easy for bostonian to say, oh, the nets, they're no good. They got that dirty bump Kyrie, but you know, when you kind of go out and take the 10,000 foot view, is it, is this like really damaging to that conversation for Kevin Durant? You have to at this point. I mean, look at it the three years they've been together in Brooklyn right now. Year one was a wash since Durant was hurt, and they knew that going in, but Kyrie gave up on that team halfway in regardless and got Kenny Atkins and fired. Good coach. They had a lot of emerging young talent there that they cashed in on for James Harden last year. Last year was their chance and Kyrie got hurt in the postseason, which has happened a lot in his career, which he's always had durability, which is one of the biggest knocks on him. And then this year, Joe covered.

"You go, no, yes, but, you know, I forget what he finished for the game last night, but at least in the first half, he was making him. And was a big part of, I don't know, I just felt like they controlled that game. There was never a loss of control where it was like the other teams going on a run. The counter punches were there, every single time, where the nets did close it to two or three points. And smart was probably bigger than anyone at the end of that third quarter when in that last minute. I think honestly, that might have been the game right there, Sean. I think the nets had cut it to three and smart comes down. He beats old friend Kyrie Irving on the offensive glass sneaks by him, gets to next time down, steel, pull up three for the perfect two for one and then jaylen Brown closes out the quarter with a steal and a dunk, 7 O run nets, just absolutely demoralized. And they weren't really able to climb back into it, at least threatened seriously after that run. Yeah, after watching so many games in the first half of the season where it felt like things would slip away in the third quarter to see that sort of response. And to see the resolve and getting a key defensive stop leading to a last second win in game one or a comeback win or in game two. And then this one was close and they just rolled..

Mayor Excuses NYC Athletes, Performers From Vaccine Mandate

"Do you know that the mayor of New York upholding the vaccine mandate for private employers in the city? Has decided to exempt from the vaccine mandate, got to have a vaccine in order to work in a private company in New York City. City employees have been fired. Many hundreds are out of work. Healthcare workers, cops, people worked in the fire department. Police department, city of New York, they're out of work. You know who doesn't have to abide by the vaccine mandate now? Millionaire athletes and performers. I'm not kidding you, the mayor of New York has waved his magic COVID wand and because Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving wasn't being allowed to play home games at the Barclays center, the mayor has now exempted performers and athletes from the New York City vaccine mandate requirement. So the usher making $12 an hour at the Barclays center, the guy who pours the beer and takes the tickets, he either has to get the vaccine or get fired. But superstar Kyrie Irving because he is a superstar and he's worth a lot of money. He's now exempt

The Confusion Behind the NYC COVID Policy

"Kevin Durant, talking about the strange COVID policies of the mayor of New York. One of their players, his name is Kyrie Irving, he's not been vaccinated, but because of the law in New York, he can not play. In New York. On the road, however, he can play. Now get this, a visiting opponent in Brooklyn in the same stadium where Kyrie Irving can not play can play even if that player has not been vaccinated. Let me see if I can get this straight. Kyrie Irving has not been vaccinated, he's a member of the Brooklyn Nets. Because of the law in New York, he can not play with his team, but on the road he can play. Even though one would think on the road, he's jeopardizing health of his teammate and his opponents just as he would be jeopardizing the health of his teammates and opponents in Brooklyn, if he were to play, not being vaccinated. However, an opposing player who's not been vaccinated can come to the Brooklyn Nets stadium, where Kyrie Irving can not play because he's not been vaccinated, even though that player has not been unvaccinated, and that player can play.

What Matters More to the Left?

"And I thought one of the most amazing moments in the last year is like, okay, what matters the most to them? This matters more than that. And there was attention at certain points. For example, what happens when Black Lives Matter, their favorite, their go to activist groups doesn't want to get vaccinated? Does it matter? Vaccinations matter more than racial identity politics. What matters more when Kyrie Irving National Basketball Association player earning $26 million a year beloved in Brooklyn doesn't want to get vaccinated. It doesn't matter, you have to stay at home. So at that moment, biomedical fascism mattered more. Okay, let's use another example. What happens when Dave Chappelle, a darling of the Hollywood left? It's a Netflix special. Black man decides to insult, I wouldn't say insult. Make fun of the transgender alphabet mafia. Oh no, no, no. You can't do that. Doesn't matter if you're black, transgenderism in this current moment matters more than racial policies. You guys try to do this. It's totally confusing. It's intentionally supposed to be confusing, by the way. It's like this constant reordering of hierarchies. Now, I believe and this is to go a level deeper, but you guys are smart, you'll get it. The transgender movement actually matters even more than biomedical fascism and they actually are together because the transgender movement is an introductory phase to get you to strip yourself of your humanity to mess with

"More fully realized team than what they were for sure. I could see maybe some gamesmanship coming down the stretch to say, hey, let's drop behind maybe Chicago and Brooklyn. Or if Miami is pushing, but I don't think they're going to drop all the way down to the 5th seed. And after play play their playoff series because the other thing is there's we see this, you start messing around with stuff like that. You end up getting punished. At some point, then there's some kind of upset where you now have home court advantage and you didn't expect to or something along those lines and it becomes very messy. So yeah. So I don't think we're going to see them tank it out. I just really want to see how this works because it's odd. Yes, we have seen players. Kemba Walker for the last full year with the Boston Celtics did not play in the second half of back to backs. But that's different. That is a different kind of thing that didn't mean it was necessary always road games always home games. Yeah, it was just with that. Now many have said, they can plan for this. They know what they can do. They can when they play a road game, and then maybe a home game on a back to back. You can run him out there for 40 plus minutes and say go because you're not playing tomorrow or whatever the case is. You can really if you need a spot Durant or hardened a night off, you probably do a one year on the road now because you're going to let Kyrie run the show. So let's see, let's see what this looks like, but yeah, Wednesday, we'll see how it looks. I mean, I expect anybody else that'll probably take him a handful of games to get fully up to speed as well. I mean, I know people are gonna be tuning in to see what happens and to see where the next time absolutely to see what it looks like with them with them fully healthy, but there we go. So Kyrie Irving, making his debut on Wednesday against the Indiana Pacers. The pacers have got to be like, come on. Really? Yeah. Really? Yeah..

Cleveland Browns, Nfl Sees High Number of COVID Cases

"The number one story in the world is a crime. And the good news remember my four square box. Every virus variant is either more or less transmissible than delta. And it's either deadlier or less deadly than delta. It turns out aron is far more transmissible. That doggone thing is moving fast. And a lot of people are getting in and half the browns have got it. Like 8 browns one on the COVID list. They should not play that game, by the way. They should cancel the NFL games where teams can not play because that's not the product we're paying season ticket prices for. That's a product where three members of your offensive line are out and the browns. Baker Mayfield could get killed, and he should sue the league if that's the case. I mean, I love backups for one player to play. And the browns have the best offensive line coordinator in the world and Bill Callahan. It's the fans key is unflappable. He'll put together a plan. But I mean, 8 players together COVID. So it's going everywhere. The browns are looking around and saying, did you guys not get your booster shot? You know, you got to get your booster shot. They're playing in the season. They're 95% vaccinated. They're not scoff laws. I don't know what Kevin and I are Irving ever ended up Kyrie Irving ever updated. But let me try that one. I don't know what Kyrie Irving ever ended up doing. How's that? But it doesn't matter. This virus is going to break out. People are going to get it. I'm flying on an airplane today. I'll have a mask on. If I get it, I'll be fine because I've had two vaccines and a booster and I'll be out for two days. That's really what it's not a problem. It's the original deal. It's a bad deal if you're not vaccinated. I mean, it's a very rolling with the dice. Run out and get your vaccination quickly if you're not, because it's going to be a punishing way, according to the CDC, come January.

"They're gonna get Jalen brown back this week. That is certainly going to help. But that is a team Howard. That is very average. There were 500 team last year. They're around 500 right now. It's kind of who they are. With this group. They've got to make some decisions or make a decision on Dennis Schroeder, the athletic reported that teams are expecting them to test the waters wherever you want to phrase it about your, that makes sense. Because shooters on a one year deal and because of the Celtics, cap situation, they probably can't bring him back because he's going to command a bigger salary next summer. He's been really good for them by and large this year. But something needs to change, I think, within this team. Now, I mentioned Portland. I don't know what Joe cronin is going to do is using some interesting verbiage to talk about enhancing this group and he's not straddling the fence on what he wants to do. We know Lillard is not available right now. McCollum, though, is a different story. And if I'm the Celtics, I mentioned smart and rob Williams for Kyrie Irving, a deal it's not going to happen because of Kyrie's issues with Boston. Smart and rob Williams for CJ McCollum. I do that too. I beat on that. If I was a Celtics, they need another scoring guard. Like smart has done the best he can as that starting point guard. But that's just not who he is. He is a Swiss Army knife type defender. He is a guy that can give you points off the bench..

"The clippers to me are interesting. Especially when it comes to being in the mix for Kyrie Irving. Look at the salaries on the clippers. Like they've got a bunch of guys that could make the money work, right? If the nets ultimately say, we want to just get a bunch of pieces, right? You could get either Eric Bledsoe or Reggie Jackson, whichever one of them that you'd actually want. You could add Marcus Morris into the mix who's been good in the playoffs before, kind of a versatile guy, plays two positions. Maybe there's a sweetener there that the clippers can throw in. And the clippers are probably destination Kyrie want to go to, which is something we haven't talked about in all this, because Kyrie is going to hold some power here where if he says, you know what? I don't want to play there. I'll sit out the rest of the season a lot of my contract to go play somewhere else. So that's a conversation you have to have with him if you're a team looking to acquire him. But Los Angeles, playing with Paul George, eventually, if not this season next season playing with Kawhi Leonard deep pockets in Steve Ballmer, I don't know, you'd need the nets to have that mindset where they just say screw it. Just give me pieces that work. Clippers can kind of offer that. They can kind of throw you some versatile guys that might make some sense in your rotation. I agree. The clippers were on my buyer list. They are the fourth best team in the NBA in defense based on defensive efficiency rating at the moment, but 25th in offense. And look, that's the no mystery why that is, you're missing Kawhi Leonard, you know, one of the best players in the league. Paul George and reg Jackson, the rest of this group to their credit have been competitive. They've been respectable, but we don't know when Kawhi is coming back or if he's even going to get back this season with the ACL recovery. Getting a guy like Kyrie, first of all, go get a point guard period. Like I think if they can upgrade at point guard period just another playmaker out there, Reggie Jackson and so these guys are good players, but they're scores more than anything. You know, I could see them even being a good landing spot for Goran dragach if that deal comes to pass. We don't know why drug getches away from the raptors right now. Ricky Rubio, if the Cavaliers decide to move off of him, like the clippers just need everybody wants Ricky ruby right now. Everybody's looking around going like, why didn't we go after Ricky Rubio? The clippers are another team too. Like the defense is already pretty good, but they're another team that I was like toying with like are they the miles Turner destination?.

"Durant. And that's what you need. If you don't have a big three anymore and then that's do not right now, and if you have no belief that you're getting that big three any time soon and I don't think they should have that belief, then the next best thing you can do is say we're all in on our big two and when you have a big two, you need to now make up for that lack of a third star with higher quality roll guys. The nets have a huge gap between their stars and the rest of that group. They could use some punch. And a deal like that would work. By the way, it's not that big of a sacrifice. One because Kyrie's not playing at all. And two, he's got an option to leave this summer. And before you say, oh, he'd never do that. I mean, look at his track record forces the way his way out of Cleveland gets to Boston, leaves Boston. You don't know what Kyrie Irving's next move is. He's making 35 million now. He's got a $36 million option for next season. He could turn it down and walk away. And even if he doesn't walk away, even if he wants to return, after all you've been through with Kyrie Irving for the nets and this is not a decision they have to make right now, but are you sure you want to resign him to another max deal? That's going to extend for four years, starting next summer? I know it sounds crazy to say that. The guy's incredibly talented and has, you know, a lot of success in this league, but man, Kyrie Irving is is right now sabotaging their championship hopes. Are you really gonna bring him back next summer? And if you're not, then that's one more reason to say it's time to just trade him for whatever you can get. And there are 27 other teams that will not have this problem, right? The only teams that have to worry about local laws regarding co vaccines are New York so the Nixon nets and the warriors in San Francisco. You can play for now. I mean, like Los Angeles, I wouldn't be surprised if it trends in that direction. Sure. And other cities. Right. But half the league at least could accommodate Kyrie Irving right now without any COVID concerns, other than the possibility that he gets it. I think by the way, I think Kyrie ops out no matter what, because I do think, even if it's not a short term deal, he'd be able to recoup that money. Like, there's gonna be a free agency class next summer stinks. So Kyrie somebody out there would clear space to give Kyrie to your max, maybe I don't know if you want to commit four years to him, but maybe someone will, but somebody will be out there to pay him that..

Wall Street Journal Editorial Board Explains Joe Biden's COVID Failures

"First, these statistical numbers, I mean, The Wall Street Journal editorial board writes President Biden may not recall what he said during a 2021 campaign debate last fall, but Americans should, anyone who's responsible for that many deaths should not remain as president of the United States of America. COVID deaths this year have now surpassed the toll in 2020. Wall Street Journal points out it would shame that mister Biden has done no better than Donald Trump in defeating COVID. Despite the benefit of vaccines better therapies and more clinical experience. The left politicized COVID by holding mister Trump responsible for a disease that was always going to be hard to defeat. Biden said, if the president had done his job, all the people would still be alive. The Wall Street Journal says that was his false as anything mister Trump has ever said. But most journalists and experts agreed with the basic premise, mister Trump had blood on his hands. The world's top medical journals called for mister Trump's defeat. The Wall Street Journal writes about Biden's COVID death milestone. Because of the Trump administration's preparation they say, the U.S. led most of the world in vaccinations. Yeah, mister Biden had no plan to deal with a large numbers of vaccine holdouts other than to deride them. He missed his goal of getting 70% of adults vaccinated by July 4th, but proclaimed victory nonetheless. Biden blamed Republican governors and unvaccinated conservatives. Yet blacks and young people have also shown resistance reluctance to get vaccinated. They don't tend to be Republican, see Nicki Minaj and Kyrie

"I mean if we could afford the kind of testing that i really having to do and the protocols is having to follow it wouldn't be an issue in the city of new york so this is not this is not an argument for test for vaccination or non-vaccination. I'm not making that case at all. I'm simply pointing out the facts. That because kyrie's in the nba. He has to go through rigorous testing daily testing. That make him not an unsafe person in that locker room. I think it's a fair point. I mean i think if i were kyrie's representation if i were the nets unless the nets of course. I don't want to make this argument. Because i just wanted to get vaccinated and not have to deal with any of this in the first place i mean. I think it's a persuasive argument to make that. This law is of course broadly drawn as all laws. Or right it's to encompass all of these different venues across the city. It's not targeted at the nets. it's not targeted at the knicks. It's not targeted at specific concert performance. Or anybody else. This is about all of these spaces that fit this description in the law right. It's broadly based it's broadly drawn. It is not designed to account for the fact that in this case kyrie irving has to abide by these strictest of protocols as an nba player. so that's why i would. I would push back you this performance. Chris there's no performance. It's broadly drawn. It's a law for the law itself. Howard the law itself is not performed. I actually agree with the law. I think we're better off if big indoor venues where thousands of people are going to be crammed in our only attended by vaccinated players. I mean if somebody else out there can prove that they're going through. The type of testing and protocols to kyrie is proving. He should be allowed in. But you can't. it's too expensive. It's too much for one person to be able to pull off right but the city is doing this as a broad matter to try to do everything possible. Right of course to stem the pandemic into keep numbers down to spread to do be exceptions forever. Right i don't. I don't know what those with that process would be but if there is a possibility of saying look this is a special case. This is different. Not because kyrie irving kyri your because he's rich or because it's nba or anything else. But just because he has to abide by the protocols that you just laid out in detail. Chris like i think that that is a persuasive argument. Yes i would say. That city hall should consider that and maybe considered an exception. Does that open some kind of pandora's box for them does that does that create. Don't think so see here. I don't. I don't think so. I don't know who else do this city is going to say. I was gonna be covered by this. But i shouldn't be because of x. i don't know how many other cases that would make room for that. I mean that would be the only thing off the top of my head. I mean i don't know how many it would make room for. Like i think what what gives city hall cover is you can say all right if you can prove you're going through the same type of testing and stuff. That kyrie is doing you exception to you would just in their sure. I would just say this especially considering. What kyrie irving did last time. He was off the grid for a little while and showed up at a birthday party and some other stuff..

"Act paid for by business roundtable. Wanna talk about a still developing situation with kyrie irving in brooklyn kyrie already missed the nets. Second preseason game in brooklyn but good news for the nets. The city of new york has deemed the nets practice facility a private building. Therefore kyri can practice outside of these vaccine requirements. So that is good news. The bad news is that the nets are now publicly accepting that for now kyri irving is not going to be available for home game. This is what steve. Nash said earlier this week about kyrie's availability. So it's kind of a good news. Bad news situation with kyrie irving howard. What did you take away from the developments of the last twenty four forty eight hours. I mean it always felt like this is where we were going to be. the ambiguity. Was that kyrie irving on media day when he did his his. You know video interview. Because he couldn't be on the premises kyri made it sound as if we're going to work this out or like stay tuned kind of thing you give me my privacy and and it will all be all you know. It's going to be fine. Which made me think like either. There was some kind of accommodation being worked out. Or maybe he was going to get the vaccine after only just didn't want to say so. There was at least this. Like tiny percentage of ambiguity until steve. Nash the other day says quote. We're going to have to for sure. Play without him this year. And it's just a matter of when and how much like that you know and i mean it felt inevitable but i think the nets and steve nash. Giving voice makes this feel very real. They are absolutely preparing for the likelihood now that they're going to be without kyrie irving for all their home games plus the two games at madison square garden. And that is putting a severe cramp. I think in the nets hopes this season. I mean you build a team with three superstars that you can be overwhelming so that you could just blow out everybody so that you have all the margin for error you could possibly have so you can just overwhelm another defense. You take kyrie irving out of that for half. The games your margin goes down you still have. Maybe the best one two punch in the league offensively. That's fine. you got a pretty deep group. That's fine but you don't just go through a season with a guy voluntarily and i will say it is voluntarily is choosing to this to miss half the season and not have it have some effect on your chemistry on interpersonal relationships on everything to say nothing of as we've alluded to.

I have to tell you. This is pretty amazing. He says to reporters please respect. My privacy irving told reporters in zoom meeting monday regarding his vaccination status. Cut forty eight jonathan. Isaac who. I have to say when he goes through this he is articulate. He is wise. He is clear far more than most senate republicans that i've heard on this issue and they have something to lose. These guys are willing to forfeit their salary millions of dollars in their career to not take the vaccine and the media doesn't really know how to deal with this people. "Some nba now so very interesting water cooler. Talk to send your way. Nba by the way starting just over a month already. We're talking kyrie irving is. She continues to work his way back from ankle surgery. This off season nikki reported this last night. Had a lot of people talking there are a handful of kyri traits that potentially makes sense for the nets kyrie's representatives have made it known that cairo would simply retire from the nba. If brooklyn were to trade him wealth kyrie read. This kyrie responded to this with this right there. An image a puppet. Then you responded with this kyrie if you're saying you didn't say you retire viewer traded. Then you're beef is with. Your representation is not with me because you and i both know. That's what they've told people. Nick busy nights on the old twitter for you. Take us through all of this. I mean so the the tweets really dum summit up to for the most part the fact that matters this there were a handful of teams that contacted the nets and take the temperature on whether or not any of the big three particularly career irving were available. Everyone knew that durant not available in hardens. Almost assuredly not available but since they acquired harden and because the net you know have a surplus of scoring and a surplus of ballhandling. There's thought kyrie might be available. And those teams were not told untouchable. No reason to call us back. It's like calling golden state for step. It will never happened. They were led to believe. Well i mean you know. We'll be irresponsible not to listen but now there is nothing to listen to because and this i know for an utter certainty no matter what gifts kyrie sends to me on twitter. Kyrie's people fold anyone that would listen trade for a metro own peril. If he were ever to be traded from brooklyn he would simply retire.

Houston Rockets, John Wall Working to Find Trade Deal

"Keith, let's start things off with John wall, a Houston rocket for now. But will not be a Houston rocket into the future. It sounds like he is going to be treatable. The rockets are hoping. They're hoping anyway. Let's get into that. What's going to happen here? The rockets, John wall working together to try to find a trade and he will not play any more games for Houston. Yeah, so this is that working together part is where it's very different from the 76ers and Ben Simmons who are not exactly working together. They're kind of working apart right now. So it sounds like by all accounts John wall has been very good in his time in Houston. He's been somebody that the younger players have really come to rely on for leadership. He's been a great leader for them. In the rockets are looking at insane. Look, we have a ton of guards that we want to play young guards to Kevin Porter junior, jaylen green, Josh Christopher, just adding in the last couple of years. Kyrie Thomas, who we picked up on a late season edition last year and he played quite well for them. So they want to play those guys. They don't necessarily want to play John wall, nor do they want to have John wall get hurt in kind of completely ruined maybe whatever little tiny modicum of trade value he may have left. There's no other way to slice this. It's 91.6 million. That he is owed. It's bad money. There's John wall would probably say at the same thing. Good for John wall for getting him what he did. And this is why you should never criticize a pointer for taking a max contract when it's offered to him. Team, other story we can have there. But at the time this contract was offered, wasn't necessarily as a bad contract. And either he's one of the first class of supermax guys to get it. So yeah, so what they're going to do is they're going to have them come to camp. He sounds like he's going to be there to kind of almost be like a glorified assistant coach. While they continue to try to work on

Los Angeles Lakers Could Fill out Roster With DeAndre Jordan

"Just give us a little on. What you think's going to happen with andre jordan was traded to the pistons. Everybody's yeah he's going to be out and that means he's going to be the next guy that the lakers will go get what do you say i think he is I think they're the most likely team to get him But there's just. I never say never with bio guys even because this is kind of been the rumor for three or four weeks at this point That this happened in brooklyn and it was just a matter of were they going to do the bio for him was he going to have to be traded. I if it say brooklyn a whole lot of money the fact that they they just save millions of dollars on their luxury tax bill by doing it this way. Also nicer de'andre like deandra got that because he was part of the kevin durant kyrie irving initial big three in in brooklyn and he was just. He's friends with all those guys. They played on team usa together and he was essential for them in signing with the nets. A little while back and it was a him signing that he gets paid twenty million a year that is not his market value. They overpaid for him. In the beginning as part of a like a sign let sign kevin durant and kyrie irving and it was you know finally worked out that way but at some point you make so much money and your they have a lot of guys at that position but they you know straight into detroit. They they They're going to do a buy out. He's going to give back a little bit of money. Detroit gets four second round out of it so they get something And also some other some other complicated salary cap things but we all thought lamarcus aldridge was going to miami. Last year on the market he ended up going to brooklyn so until he clears. Waivers and intel other teams have a chance to approach the andre. I wouldn't i wouldn't say it's likely or expected or anything like that. I would use much more. Vague words. you know. He fits with the lakers. He would fit in that role. I think would have a pretty well defined role and if you're on the buyout market and you're gonna sign for minimum like that's what you're looking for is someplace you can play.

According to caesar sportsbook brooklyn has the highest over under win. Total at fifty four and a half game so richard. "In fact, can we do little runningback with K D? Oh, yeah. And Kyrie because they had some romance moments at the all star game. I personally think they were like leaning in to all the speculation about them because they were not secretive at all they were videotaped talking in the hallway of the spectrum center. Right. I'll do it. I'll do it. Kyrie was the only player dick around for katie's entire all star ceremony. Right. Look at him. He's right there. I have there's the video and finally photo was posted of Katie and Kyrie together with the caption, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving spotted in Miami restaurant together eyeballs eyeballs little jar. So I don't know if that was like a Katy standing in the kyri standing evidence. I don't believe them. They say they don't like it the speculation. I just I mean, they'll sit there and say, well, I can't talk to my friend and hallway. I just don't buy it. Enjoy it. We talking about this question. That will ever know. Thanks a lot right there. Some things that I didn't know about. You were you were taken aback by the trophy presentation. Take him back about it yet. It's the trophy presentation. And those guys meet in the hallway and Miami is it's in it's in but to answer this question, Boston, the uncertainty of the Boston player this being a distraction off season. I don't think so I think maybe it was distraction up until the trade deadline now that's over and going, you know, with the whole Anthony Davis. I mean, we knew nothing was going to happen with Celtics because they couldn't do anything. They had to get rid of career. If they wanted to make that trade that wasn't gonna happen. So with that over and done with these guys are really just concentrating on trying to get back to the type of ball. They were playing last season. And in better player questions out. You've talked about before that you gotta know the guys in the locker room with you. Right. Are you with us or whatever? And that I think maybe that's where some of the outside churn. And what Kerry was talking about the end there that media has broken up locker rooms the idea that if there isn't enough direct conversation, and that's why I said, I think he's being premature. He's a if there isn't a direct conversation. Some guy reads on this phone, hey, KAI de que D And Kyrie we're spotted having dinner them, right? But the and then they read that and they don't say anything, and then kyri doesn't say anything. And then there's that. Are you really with us thing going on right, right? And that's why pre sheet him being so. Ended and open about it. And does base in San if I'm these guys read this, and I don't go to them and talk some about this situation west being put out there, then yes, it could be a distraction. But getting from what he's talking about that he is having these of these guys and not in the Lao that to be a distraction to the see I don't think it's about off-season uncertainty about in-season uncertainty. It's very clear that these guys don't have a precise understanding or a precise acceptance of their roles, I mean, look this is one of the best defensive teams in the league in the question that plagues the Celtics right now is how can they be elite offense of team because they are they're gonna win a ton of games down the stretch. They're gonna win twenty to twenty five and right now that that sort of the challenge for for Brad Stevens, no line is the sky for the last eight we've spoken about him. In terms reserved only for Gregg Popovich. And this is I wheel challenge. Not just on the challenges the challenges having read how do you insert Kyriacos? It is because when cowry is out there Roseau are clearly identify and how these guys play they play like they played last year without Barry just went Correa's in the lineup. Okay. Now, what do we do? How do we play our style of basketball when Carolina if you saw the last game they play when he was out. I mean, they were phenomenal..

But yet one of the concerns for the Knicks was how long this long term, durability given not just the need that he had injury on. But other body parts in his lower extremities. Because of course, as we said, he's seven three, and he moves very fluidly that's not normal. And that's a lot of stress to put on your lower extremities. Do you think that this deal could not go through because of that? No, no. It's a done deal. It's been kind, and I believe the Mavericks know what they're getting into. And if you're the Mavericks, not only you're taking a gamble on him. Staying you're announcing game on him being health. I think the big thing for Dallas. I I don't think staying as an issue as we said earlier rookie max extensions are undefeated. And and he's a good situation. And they've got an established or what looks like it's going to be established are with them. I think the big thing is the injury risk. But I think if you're down you have a great training staff shot Casey Smith trainer for USA basketball trainer for the Dallas Mavericks. They think that they they're good on that front. And also, here's another concern. They wanted to Dennis Smith, but they didn't want to make it seem like they were dumping or they took an L draft bus. They were very adamant of saying we got back. Great value for this, dude. If we're going to train them, and that's what they did. They got to win the press conference agents. They win the press conference. But I really think that we will look back at this as the day that the Knicks opened up the cap space. They brought in to star in my one for both teams. He might be great. And they take those two Maxwell. So one thing that we haven't discussed that. I could totally see happening carrier having going the final thing with the Celtics. Kevin Durant come into the Knicks and Kemba Walker. That's kind of when I first heard about the trade. I was. Ooh. Durant in Kemba. Those will be the two spots. Right. What do you think the chains? Are that happened? I think it's a good chance because if you Charlotte in a weird situation, you know, you need to fix this Rosser in this cap sheet us, if you let him go, I mean, if you pay them as hard to do that if you don't pay them, you let them go. And now you have nothing to show for it. So they're kind of catch twenty two. Kristaps Porzingis on the move LeBron back in action, Anthony Davis. The pelicans Lakers talking. The all star rosters have been released. The seventeenth most important story in the NBA right now destroying the NFL today, we are polish as to the National Football League end of the Super Bowl. But you've just been overshadowed by by drama in the NBA. Kyrie Irving not committed to the Celtics. This is so good. Let's take a look at the all-star reserves. We know who the starters are gonna take a look at the reserves here. Now what jumps out at me most here in the east that bigger depot spot. He obviously with a torn quad is not going to be playing the game..

"And then when he asked out I initially was like, man Kyrie's the worst. But then I don't know why people resist this because win horses talked about it. David Griffin has talked about it. I've talked about it. And that kyri found. Wait a minute. You had me trade it out of here like peace. I'm going to do my own thing. And I I don't know if people like this or not so you tell me Rudy if it's off base, but I do think there because my life, I know myself better than any other person. I talk about I know how I fell in the Scott and Ryan dynamic like, I know what that was like, and there are kind of even the ones for more impressive in difficult and cooler than two guys doing radio show. But when I first did the show with Scott, nobody else wanted me to be his partner management in want me to be the guy. They wanted to be Erica silliest somebody that they really wanted to be the host of it was Stephen A at times, I think they even try to go like herbstreet Fowler. And you know, of course, they didn't want me because you know, at the time I was in management is a nobody like we're going to do this. And that's why they didn't put my name on the show because they didn't want. They felt like that would actually hurt the show with sales which I always thought with short term, but many program decisions specially radio very short term decisions. And ultimately MC my argument. Was like, yeah. But if you just my name on the show now like in four years, it's not gonna be weird like we can build this thing. And it was like, no. So I'll give a man of Brown was our first producer who's actually out here. Seven ten ESPN. Now she wanted me on it Scotland. Ultimately, Scott wanted me on Scott's like look you guys can vote for everybody else and have the vote. The only vote that really matters is the guy that's going to do it every day. And if you want me to do it with somebody, I don't wanna do it with then guess what? I don't have to do it. I can just stand sportscenter, and that's gonna go pretty well too. So they gave him Scott, and I had to have meetings with the principal and sell myself after I'd been at the company for three plus years already. And if you're Scott, you will always kind of look at me as like if it wasn't for me Ryan wouldn't have made it or wouldn't be what he is today. And that might be a hundred percent, okay. And I'm sure people listening to be like, what do you mean might be one hundred percent true in Scott believes that who's gonna tell Scott that he's wrong? And there were times Scott would remind. Me of that. I look at it is I think good at what I do. And if it wasn't gonna be that it would have been something else. Eventually, I would have been successful. And I think that's true. I think both are true Scott helped me, and I also believe in myself. And so not to say Scott is LeBron I'm kyri. But there are some similarities of the dynamic of one person feeling like they're in charge of the one person feeling. The other person's sort of owes it to that person. And for kyri. He's like, dude, I'm nasty. Okay. I can go do my own thing. And I want my own team. Especially after I feel like you may have shipped me out of here for somebody else, but the deal fell through and LeBron and his crew were like, look your signature shoe and Nike that's because of us, dude. That's because of us your ascension to the next year wherever you are at the non defensive high volume score that was going to be the leader on awful teams. We'll have fun with that have fun getting twenty five game winning thirty. Will now with us. You hit the shot against the warriors in one of the greatest comebacks ever considering the warriors were that year. And now, you're just you're forever. Your legacy like there's a floor. You can't go below now because of what we did together. So yeah, you're nasty. Yeah. You're all these things..

"And there shouldn't be any pointing fingers, and we gotta be beyond that. And what have you four and Kyrie Irving to take step back and reflect upon about how he might choose to handle things because everybody doesn't receive at the same. Then he goes on the court last night put the dagger in a Toronto Raptors with that twenty twenty eight foot three from beyond the free throw lobby the arc over Kawhi Leonard. I might add. Kyrie Irving shows oppose gay. And essentially says air. I understand. Now. I understand now. I've always been somebody to defend it. Cari, because I think he has a right to have that attitude. He had a right to sit up and say, look, I want more than what I'm getting here Cleveland. But there is no doubt that shade was thrown in the direction of the broad Jay's because I know for me personally. And I've said this on national television you Dan, right? I'm looking at LeBron. Because if you're the star and people don't want to play with you. That's a problem. That's a problem. And I'm not gonna completely absolve anybody from that. When you are the superstar, you gotta ingratiate yourself for Gaza enough where they want to be around you. They wanna be teammates with you. They want to go to war with you. They want win with you. They don't mind losing with you all of those things matter. But you know, what Kyrie's words meant last night. Maybe a lot of us were too hard on the Brian James. That would include me. I probably myself would be a fairly this gentleman. I just in an apartment circumstances or maintaining a position because it's good TV or radio, whatever. I don't have a damn about any of that. Right. Is right wrong is wrong. I tell you what I believe in feel based on the evidence. According to me, but I'll tell you this. When car we said that last night I found myself looking at LeBron a little bit differently. I found myself looking like looking at LeBron like he was somewhat of a victim. You got the world rested on your shoulders. You've answered the challenge, you know, what you're going for you went back to Cleveland to a race a curse that spent a half century. And after fifty two year drought of a championship in any sport. In the city Cleveland, you would have one that ended that data Browns. Could it win? The Cavs couldn't win the Indians couldn't win Heff. All we know your monitor league team couldn't win. But still in all you go back and you were race. The curse that had plagued that area and brought a championship to it. That's what you did. Lebron James and in order to do that you needed help from guys you had to bring Gaza long. Could you have done things a little bit differently? I'm sure nobody's perfect. But when Cari said what he said yesterday it highlighted for me as a reminder of how difficult it is to lead how difficult it is to galvanize troops how difficult it is to get everybody to be on the same page and the do two things that need to be done. So we can all flourish. That's what Cari Irvine and saying LeBron James did for him. Now might be self serving. Because as my max Kellerman pointed out this morning on I take ten AM to noon eastern time seven to nine AM Pacific. He said, hey, it's definitely self-serving to some degree because Karis probably saying to his teammates. Look what I'm acknowledging about. Lebron one day. You'll find yourself acknowledging about me if you're smart enough to listen to what I'm trying to tell you because I'm trying to win a chip. And as we're on this subject. Let's go step further. And ask ourselves why the urgency, of course, it's the middle of the season. Of course, every season counts. Of course tomorrow is not promised all of those things are true. But here's the reason why. If your career oven. Not only are you trying to win a championship because you wanna championship you might be trying to win a championship now because you might be leaving. Because you remember what Kyrie Irving said to those fans in Boston prior to the season. I would love to stay here. And I'm looking forward to having a law proper prosperous Korean paraphrase, it a role prosperous career here. If you will have me, well me, ladies and gentlemen, you know, what that means. You're gonna give you the max, I'm here if you not maybe that..

"Leadership is realizing that less can be more and he's gotten back publicly from guy like Jalen Brown. Who came out? And basically said we can't be pointing fingers at starts from top to bottom not from bottom to top a public shot back at a guy we've seen these sort of clashes between the young guard and the old guard you can look back at the Chicago Bulls from a few years ago. We had some of the things that went on there with a guy like regime Rondo taking the side of the younger players who were warring with the Dwayne Wade's and Jimmy Butler is of the world to now this, and I think Jalen Brown having the guts to speak up publicly about this into sort of fire a shot back across the bow reminding them, we're listening, and we did some things without you last year. That's the other thing about this young group in Boston is kyri Irving was not there in the playoffs last year. And this young Boston groups still almost took that LeBron James lead Cleveland team to the brink of extinction in the Eastern Conference finals they have that to fall back on. They may not be champions. But they're not a bunch of slouches either. That's the other side of this for that group. And so for Kyrie Irving, it's easy to get up here and have fun Kyrie's expense. Kyrie's guy who has given us a lot. And he himself said after the game last night. And there was draw sums it up pretty perfectly with the NBA with a little drama kyri is provided us with that Cairo has been opening and maybe a little too giving of his truth as I sit here and put the former athlete cap on and operate in that room that was something I was never fully comfortable with. I don't think the outside world deserves all of your truth. If you're moving now as a media member, I am truly appreciative of it. And I pray that kyri never stops with a lot of this. But for the continued development of Kyrie Irving, the leader. I am willing to admit that at times because of some of the flatter theory stuff. And because he's a guy who is a little more verbose when he gets the microphone in front of his face. I think it creates. An idea that probably isn't fair to the leader in the teammate. Kyrie Irving actually is or can be going forward because this at least demonstrate some ability to listen and learn you just hope it sticks. Like, this sounds good as number soundbite. Now, you gotta see the proof in the pudding. Now, you got to see a little less said in public at this point, a little more understanding of what this team actually may need behind closed doors, and we'll wait and see if they're going to get it first and last podcast. Indeed knows finding the right hire takes.

"We got to start with the NBA stars of today. Kyri Irving every time I hear a quote from Kyrie Irving, I resist the same urge which is to get up and talk about how much kyri clearly loves to hear kyri talk. Kyrie Irving Celtics star point guard, obviously, former Cleveland cavalier and a guy who left the familiar confines of Cleveland, while lebrons James was still there in an effort to get out from under the umbrella, the shadow whatever you wanna call it of the player that had dominated and has dominated the NBA landscape for the better part of a decade and a half. Now since he burst onto the scene and for Kyrie Irving at that time, I think we could all understand the desire in the hunger of a young player to come out and prion prove himself a guy who wanted to be a leader. But there's a difference between wanting it and getting it and going along with the things that come with that one. You get there. Now, Cairo Irving in a moment of clarity in a moment of self reflection. Has finally realized that to an extent now I still had to resist the same urge in the same reaction. When I heard a lot of these comments come out last night. Kyrie Irving who had been very critical of some of his younger teammates in public throughout the course of the season had set on multiple occasions that this team is lacking quality veteran peace, and that these young players don't really understand that at this point in a lot of it felt patronizing and a lot of it felt like Kyrie Irving was speaking from a position that maybe wasn't wholly earned yet or at the very least felt unnatural. But you do remember the LeBron James of that era in Cleveland talking about fitting out not fitting in and all these other very public shots at Kevin love and Kyrie Irving at some of the other younger. Cavaliers at that point. Lebron James who had already been a multiple time champion from his time in Miami. At that point LeBron James who it operates in a different stratosphere, even then than Kyrie Irving does. Now that was before the Cleveland championship that LeBron will tell you made him the greatest of all time with that being said, kyri Irving, I thought it was interesting enough that he did mention. After last night's win over the raptors they won seventeen one eight win for the Celtics that he did call and reach out to LeBron James after what happened in Orlando on Monday and apologized for. In your played. I wanted to everything. Fingertips. I wanted everything to be at my threshold. I wanted to be the guy that let us change leader. I wanted to be on that. And you know, the responsibility of being a best player in the world leading the team is something that's not meant for many people. Brown was one of those guys that came to Cleveland and tried to show us what it's like to win a championship. And it was hard for him. Sometimes get the most out of the group. It's not the easiest thing in the world. And like, I said only fewer or mid for chosen Florida. And you know, I feel like the best person called him because you know, he's been.
