"Mind today? Hi Dan, I want to thank you for taking my call again. I'm third time caller. I did convince tighter to let me talk about a best and it's not a best of the weekend because I know it's Tuesday. It's the best part of life. And what I mean by that is years ago, I read those guys have all the fun, that expose about the mothership. And in it youth are described as a welcoming person, a true friend, a real mentor. I just want to thank you for living up to the expectations that we your audience have of our heroes. So just thank you for that, Dan, for being a true human being. Well, thank you, Ron. I was taught at an early age. You know, I grew up in a big family and my parents taught me well. Help somebody. And it's not all about you. It's weird to have a show in its named after you, but that's why I love having the dance. I love sharing. That's why we take phone calls. I like sharing all of this. When we win, we all win. And, you know, we go through tough times. We all go through that. Together, and even with the audience, and when you share your stories, that's what's great. I view this as a large family, an extremely large family, but you know, we go through it together. And there are times when you get mad at me or might not agree with me. But that's okay. It's no different from my brothers or sisters. We don't block phone calls. I trust who's listening to this, that you understand the show, you appreciate the show, even if you have a discrepancy, a problem with something. That's okay. We've discussed those things. And we don't run from those things. But it's a reflection. I always feel like the show, you'll hear that and see that with your audience. And the love that's given back, the respect that's given back is immeasurable. I mean, what it has me doing this keeps me going every single day. And as I tell the dance every day to Super Bowl, and that's how you have to approach this. Even though we're down to dance, guys got to step up, guys in the back, step up. Guys doing a couple of jobs. about having fun. It's like when I would say, oh my God, I got to work second ship at SportsCenter. People like, wait, are you complaining? And then I realized you can't complain. Nobody wants to hear you complain. You're doing SportsCenter. And yes, I was doing second shift. Didn't see my family during the week, but I was still doing, I had a great job. The same thing with this. You know, I've been battling the flu. Now, I'm going on three weeks here. But I get to go to work every day. And it's our way of saying thank you for giving us an opportunity a great life here. Brandon in Virginia. Hi, Brandon. Good day, Dan Patrick. How are you doing today? I'm doing well. Every day I wake up as a cardinal fan and there are still employees that coach makes no sense to me. Offensive line last night looked like a wet piece of paper. I think fritzi could have had 5 sacks of feet put them in the field last night. It's just ridiculous. My question to you is, do you think a head coach change will be coming, Sean Payton was rumored earlier on in the season to be the next head coach because he was a ball boy for Michael bidwell senior. He's got interest in coming there. So do you think a head coach changes coming soon? And do you think he might be a possibility? Well, here's the thing. I'd have to know what Sean Payton thinks at Kyler Murray. Because any coaching move you make, where you get to dictate where you want to go. First thing you want to know is my quarterback. I can't imagine that Sean Payton would want to take that job with Kyler Murray. Cliff Kingsbury just got a contract extension. 5 years. This isn't like college. You know, college though, hey, the boosters. We want to make a coaching change. You guys want to pony up the money and pay for this. You don't have boosters in the NFL. You can't go to your local Chevy dealer and go a Jimmy lipper. You want a pony up $40 million. We get rid of our coach and college you can do that. In the NFL, the owner has to eat it. And I can't imagine that happening. It's like Texas a and M, I guess, considered buying out Jimbo Fisher. And that was $90 million. I mean, how crazy is that? But that's where the boosters go, all right, hey. Tommy, you gotta take one for the team. All right, I'll give you a $90 million. Yeah, Pauly. I always wish a televised I was meeting. So those booster meetings in the back room, but the cigars and a bunch of guys with big belt buckles walking insane. What do we got? What have we got to bring in here? Cowboy hats coming in here. At least sidle up to the bar. I'll put in three large. All right. Can I get 15 million? All right, I'll give you 15 million. Where are we now? We're up to 62 million. All right. I need 18 more men. We get a new coach. Somebody ponies up. But I wouldn't assign cliff Kingsbury to an extension, but I guess they wanted to attach him to Kyler Murray. And I think it's easy to take a victory lap around Kyler Murray's contract right now. But that's not fair to him. At the beginning of the season, I wouldn't have done it. They put pressure on the Cardinals and the Cardinals. I mean, if you put language in there basically saying, we need you to be a grown-up and study. I can't give you $230 million. You're four and 9. The niners aren't going away. Seattle is going to reload. I don't know what's going to happen to rams. Probably going to continue to take a dive. But you always have to look at your division. Just start there. Everybody measured themselves against the Patriots. In the AFC east. Because they knew if we can beat them, then we can beat anybody or we can play for a Super Bowl. If you're Arizona and you look around, what do you have? Not much. And compare that to Seattle, you're not better than Seattle. The niners defense is the best in football. Maybe Brock purdy is your future. So if you're Arizona and you're looking around, is it going to get much better than this? Maybe, maybe you're a wildcard team a couple of times. But they have famously folded in the second half of the last couple of seasons. There are so many rumors about the rams off season not reports but rumors, there's a lot of speculation about mcvay and Stafford and McVeigh had the monster offer last year for the media. I wonder if Sean mcvay looks at it and says, okay, I don't want to get fired from the rams. If I have to leave here, let's say they had another bad year next year. That would be tough to have two bad years in a row. He gets the hall pass, but what if he says, okay, I'm very young. Well, I'm still a shiny object in the NFL. I'll take a $15 million 5 year contract with Amazon, and then the minute I get the big offer again three years from now, I just go back. Before he's damaged goods. Well, I don't know what's going to what the rams are going to look like. But they mortgage their future to win a Super Bowl. You get a hole pass for a year or so. I don't know if Matthew Stafford plays it yet. And then what? Maybe you got your quarterback with Baker Mayfield. That would be a brilliant move on their part. But Cooper coming back from an entry, Jalen Ramsey hasn't played well. Aaron Donald's going to give you one more year. Bobby Wagner. You're flirting here with another sub 500 season. But

I heart radio Fox Sports radio and nearly 400 cities around America carrying this program. Patriots handled the Cardinals Kyler Murray hurt on the first drive and the early indications are there's a tear in the knee, the ACL probably done for the rest of the year, not confirmed there. The cowboys have added a wide receiver, but it wasn't OBJ. It was somebody else with initials, TY Hilton, the Buffalo Bills have signed coal Beasley, you start to wonder about OBJ, and then there's this quote from Jonathan Jones, CBS NFL insider, OBJ says, I don't see the point in playing in the regular season. He said that on a podcast, that's not going well around the league. That is from Jonathan Jones on OBJ. And then you start to wonder about this. This is why I said this a couple of weeks ago. Does anybody ask him when he's going to play? And then he sent out the crying emoji, and I'm an outsider and that's why I'm not an inside whatever he said. I don't know if those are now a real tears that he's crying, not laughing at me, but once again, I'll say the same thing to OBJ, you're welcome to come on the program and talk about this. Since I'm an outsider, I'd love to learn what's going on on the inside here. Are you going to play football this year? And what he wanted was a two year contract he wanted to get something that was around 18 to $20 million from what I'm told, and that probably was going to wait until the postseason. That's when he was going to be healthy enough. No. Maybe he's coming back. The next couple of weeks. But if you're the cowboys or the bills or the Giants, do you want to take a chance on that and give him that kind of contract? If you're OBJ, do you want to come back in, you know, sort of finite amount of time, try to prove yourself, and you're going to get long-term contract? I don't know how much bargaining power you have right now. And the cowboys still interested, the Giants, and the Buffalo Bills, I guess, but if I'm the cowboys, and I applaud Jerry Jones, because I think he did the right thing. It's not, hey, we got to have him. Let's go sign him. He said, let me see you work out. Now you bring in TY Hilton, I didn't know that he wasn't playing for anybody, but I think on the colts roster and now you pick him up. That's a veteran guy, maybe can help you. Covers the cowboys. He'll join us coming up a little bit later on. Dan orlowski, the mothership, will stop by as well. Yes, Paul and Dan quickly would you guys like to play the what does TY in the TY Hilton stand for? It played this game 9 years ago when he went to the league. So no hints, anyone, what does TY in TY Hilton stand for? Thank you for picking me up. Today goes for that one. What do you think TY? Fee was. I'm gonna go Theodore yeoman Hilton. Even for yoga. All right. Dan?

"It's really honestly not been good for anyone. This is probably been a bad week for the Arizona Cardinals. If Kyler Murray didn't put the time in before and clearly someone thought something because this cause was in. Yeah. Is this the thing that forces him to go screw everyone? I will show you guys and I'm going to work and I'm going to win and does this does his all of his flaws being called to the public? Does this trigger something? That is kind of the thing I'm most interested in. Or does he go the opposite way? And he becomes defiant and he refuses to do what they want him to do. And now the clause. So my children again. Yeah, no kids. Trust me, we're all dealing with kids who are being defiant. But Ian, they gave him a 130 mil guaranteed. And again, they don't have an option. You can't find franchise quarterbacks. But this is a guy, Ian, who, you know, and not to knock him, but ever since he stepped on a football field in high school, he's been utterly dominant. He did not lose a game in high school. Natural ability, just dominant, gets to college and part time starter at a and M instantly, you know, it ends up transferring goes to Lincoln Riley's system and is dominant and it's like number one pick, third year in the league, they get to the playoffs, like everybody's gone, and he's like, I don't really need to study. I'm that good. But to take the next step, I think we both agree. He's got to get better as a quarterback, right? Well, if you look at the way that the last, well, one of the last two seasons, I guess, have transpired. Something has happened at the end of the season. I mean, let's just talk about this year. I don't know, maybe the best team in football, right? Would you say for the first two months, at least? 7 no? Yeah, yeah. In the conversation, right? I think not sure everybody believed it, but there were certainly winning. Something happened. And the really, really good teams will take their time, will be methodical, will plan it out, and then we'll figure you out by the end, and it's the same reason why teams sometimes go with two game plans in the Super Bowl. Because the best teams are the ones that are the smartest to know how to attack you. So something was happening at the end of the season that led them to not be as successful. Does this change this? Did Kyler Murray not studying enough lead to this? I have a million questions, but we are all going to find out. And that's what makes this so fun. You know NFL teams are smart and, you know, if you don't adapt and change, people are going to figure you out. I mean, you know, we could talk about Lamar Jackson and Greg Roman. Greg Roman and Colin Kaepernick, you know, these unique quarterbacks, they kind of, I hate to say it, figure them out to an extent.

"To think he knows everything when it comes to sports. I know what sports fans want. But for everything he doesn't. He knows a guy who does. Let's just say, I know a guy who knows a guy. Who knows another guy. All right, let's welcome him to straight fire, a guy everybody knows. I mean, he's been dominant for NFL network. Yeah, for several years now, but this Kyler Murray story over the last, I don't know what ten days, two weeks has been a beast for him. Ian rappaport, AKA rap sheet. How are you doing, man? I'm good, man. What's going on? Not a whole heck of a lot. I'm basically reading NFL every day to try to understand what the heck to expect this season and following you on social media after your Kyler Murray week. I'm sure you got a lot of interesting stories to tell about that. Obviously, I would like to start with the deshaun Watson stuff. I don't know. This is just me, but I don't find this discussion super interesting at this point. It's been 15 months of it. And now it's over and he got 6 games and it's done right or is there going to be another layer and there could possibly be more stuff happening? I would not say it's over just yet. And I don't know when this is going to air, but within three days of Monday. So I think by Thursday, the NFL needs to make a decision whether or not they appeal. If they appeal, then it goes to commissioner Roger Goodell or his designe. So essentially the NFL appeals to the commissioner. And then a decision could come at any time as far as what the suspension is if he increases it. And then deshaun Watson and the NFL pay likely takes him to federal court and then it's just going to be battled out in the court. It's kind of like Ezekiel Elliott was and we've had some others like this as well. Tom Brady was another one. So today was on Monday, it was a big day, which is important day. It was a consequential day, but I don't yet know if it means this is all over. And as far as the conversation, I've seen a lot of discussion and I'm not sure everyone actually, I'm not sure how much anyone actually has paid attention to what actually is going on. So it makes for a tough conversation. Very tough. Yeah, I mean, again, you hear 25 and civil lawsuits in the year like 60 women according to The New York Times and all this stuff.

"Don't go anywhere. We'll be right back. I also like Coulson everybody else. Coleslaw, baked beans. I got my hat out there somewhere back on NFL live and this was pretty interesting today. Kyler Murray called a surprise press conference to address the addendum that was added to his contract and then of course this information leaked that he has to do independent study times four hours a week individual study time. Here's more of what he said about that and how he feels. I think any player as far as one of the greatest moments in one's life or one's professional career to go to that to all your being talking about it, yeah, I mean, of course, I think any player would feel a certain way about it. But at the end of the day, you say what you say. I feel good about myself what I say all the time. You know what I'm saying? How I feel, and it is what it is. So I understand media and I understand how it works. But that's why I'm here today and I'm telling you what it is. Okay, so to another quarterback who spoke just a little while ago, Lamar Jackson, he's been out of camp. He's been fully involved in practice as you see him right there. And he was asked when is this deal getting done with the ravens? Here's how he answered that question. Whenever we do, whenever we have free time, you know, mutual free time. Mutual free time. We working right now on the count right now. Oh man, I want to win at the end of the day, you know, I just want to be great. You know, I just want to work with my brothers at the end of the day. I don't want to leave them out there hanging. No, that's not me. That's never been me. You know, like I told you, we have a mutual conversation. I'm going to keep that in-house. Adam, I had the same reaction you did when you heard lavar's answer to that. Listen, we don't have free time right now to be doing deals, right? Well, Laura, you usually work on 200 plus $1 million deals during free time. I mean, that word of time is going to do $200 billion, right? Free time. So maybe two sides can find some free time in the summer to get together to figure out one of the richest deals in the national footballing. I would hope and think that both sides would be able to find that free time. Yeah, where do we stand with that Adam? Well, the two sides have been going back and forth. They didn't have a lot of free time last year to get it done. So they continue those talks during the off season. The talks have been ongoing, and I think all along, Baltimore has been waiting on Lamar to do the deal. And Lamar made a great decision last year waiting to do the deal, but the numbers now have gotten so high and the guaranteed money is so hot and as long as the ravens don't require him to study four hours a week. I think they should be able to figure out a way during their free time to get this deal done. Yeah, no more of those addendums, please. Nick, you heard what Lamar set himself about why he's out there. He said he didn't want his teammates out there without him. And that was important to him. And listen, that's who he is as a player. That's who he is as a person, but do you think he should be out there without a deal? I mean, me personally, no, I'd be, I'd be shaking to go sign a contract, but listen, I love the confidence. I love it. I absolutely love it and if Lamar wrote a book on Benton on yourself, I would read it because the dude just keeps betting on himself. He goes out there and the contracts just get bigger and bigger and bigger. So if I think for him, he's just like, yeah, I'm going to play football. I'm going to go out here and ball with my teammates. We're going to have fun. We're going to win football games. And he's going to get paid more and more and more. So again, betting on himself, just like the most successful people in history, he's betting on himself. Look, I have nothing but respect for his approach in his confidence. I don't like the business strategy. I don't like the risk, but you're right, rob. I respect the man's confidence because I'll tell you this. If this, I don't know, they may wind up striking a deal tomorrow and then I'm going to have to come back and go, see if I can reverse what I'm about to say, but you know what? If there was a deal on the table that was close to being near the top of the market close to Deshawn Watson guarantee type money, close to paying him on average near the top two or three, I would assume he would have signed it by now. I would assume that this would be announced here soon. And maybe it would, maybe it will be. But you know what? The longer this goes, the longer this goes through the month of August, the more unbelieving, they're not Lamar's thinking one thing and they're thinking another. And he is just going to say, hey, you know what? The hell with it. I am going to bet on me. You know what I'm going to try and rip everyone a new one that we play this year. And then I'm going to play that game of chicken in the off season. As far as you franchise in me or let me get the free agency, I'm going to play the Kirk Cousins game. Yeah, I'm playing a high risk game, a high stakes game of injury risk here, but so be it. I'm not taking a below market deal. You are going to get me for cheap. It just seems like it's heading that way, and that scares the heck out of me. Yeah. But boy, are we going to be talking about it a lot? Yeah. And his strategy has worked out so far and he is not the first ravens quarterback who we've seen better on himself. Remember when Joe Flacco deployed a similar strategy and used it and won a Super Bowl title and used it to land at that time a huge contract now Lamar Jackson taking a page from the Joe Flacco playbook and the ravens are back to where they were in the past. All right guys, so we got time for one more thing before we go. Dak Prescott at the podium, I believe, still right now for the cowboys, but he was asked about the final play of last season. Listen to this. Yeah, it was tough. But it was easy to get back to work knowing that that's the only thing that could change that and the only thing that I can do to fix that and to fix anything moving forward. So that feeling is a nasty feeling and that's the one that when you think about, as I said, you want to go work. You want to go do whatever you can to make sure that you don't feel that way again. And yeah, that's what we're out here trying to do. Louis, what do you think? Look, I think deck understands that those were those were things that really were in the hands of coaches. There's really wasn't his decision as far as the tactics at the end of the game, but that needs to have the best season of his career. He needs to transcend the people around him. And he needs to be as good as he's ever been. I love it. Listen, if he does that, then maybe they have a chance and that really competitive NFC east. Everybody on the show yesterday said the eagles are winning it. In fact, Adam went ahead and declared it too. We'll see you tomorrow on NFL live. Thanks for being with us today.

"That's not stopping the fans who are gathered on some of the fields and hills and grandstands behind me here at latrobe from doing that yesterday Mitch trubisky came in. He took the first two reps of the team period and had two incompletions and a fan you'll get picket in there, but that fan may be regretting his words because then today can he pick it went in on his first rep for a team period he threw an interception. He was also picked off yesterday, mason Rudolph actually has looked like the most consistent quarterback out here, but guys, we are just two days in to a very long quarterback competition between these three guys. It's gonna go on for a very long time. Do not hang your hat on every single throw, even if you really might be tempted to. Yeah, I mean, Brooke, you kinda sound like coach Tomlin there. That's sort of what he's telling us. Let's not be impulsive here, but listen, keep asking those questions, girl. I love it. Thanks so much to brick Pryor for joining us here. Adam, let's go to you. What are you hearing about the Steelers QB competition? Well, our great that Mike Tomlin could laugh about the questions after day one and two, but let's see if he's laughing again after day 11 and 12 when he continues to be asked the same questions every single day until he names a starter. And I think the perception is is that Mitchell trubisky is the favorite to be the starter on opening day. It would be a surprise, no matter what happens here, early in camp, if he weren't the starter, Kenny Pickett would really have to shine, mason Rudolph would really have to shine miss trubisky played well during the off season program during the OTAs and press those in the organization. And I think he's the clear cut favorite to land the starting job, but until then, Mike Tomlin will continue to be peppered with the same types of questions every day until he decides to name an official starter. Yeah, I mean, the one thing is, at least Tomlin hasn't had to deal with these types of questions, his entire career is the Steelers head coach, right? So sorry, you're going to have to do it now. Coach, but Nick, are you buying that Mitchell trubisky is the answer for the Steelers offense? Yeah, I think he is. And look, when he was in Chicago, that market is each up as a quarterback. And when he was there, he had some bright spots. I mean, let's not forget. He got that team into the playoffs. And he had some good moments and he had some bad moments. But then again, he moved on to a great place in Buffalo where he could sit back behind Josh Allen. He could be a backup. He could recharge and regroup and then go to another place and compete for a starting job. So I think that with that time off and a new fresh start, this is going to be a great opportunity for him to kind of flush away the past. Forget about Chicago and move on to Pittsburgh. And again, I think that his mind, where his mindset is, is going to be really beneficial in him having a successful season. Yeah, you know, I take a little bit more of a 30,000 foot view of this entire quarterback competition in Laura. You know, I've spoke about this before when I was up there and we were talking about Pittsburgh. I believe on NFL live. And I think I look at this as really being something that is really going to reflect on Matt Kennedy, the offensive coordinator as to how this quarterback situation pans out, and then how well whoever it is that winds up being the starter, how well that guy actually plays. Because look, last year, this offense really didn't have an identity. They wanted to do a lot of attacking the edges, running lots of jet suites, getting out on the perimeter, getting out on the frame, and not just with the run game as far as the running back from our receivers were concerned, but ideally they'd like to do it with the quarterbacks. And they didn't have the personnel to do it, but they kept trying to fit a square peg into a round hole until eventually, they said, look, we're a downhill type of football team. We just need to run not the north and south. Maybe utilize some play action, help out this bad offensive line. Well, we need to see just how much better this revamped offensive line is this year. And then whether or not these quarterbacks can do the kind of things that Matt needs them to do in order to make this team be a true contender in AFC north. So as much as we want to put the onus on who wins the quarterback job, I'm putting the onus on how does Matt Kennedy bring these guys along and then ultimately utilize them? Yeah, Louis, I'm glad you brought up the O line. In fact, last season, Pittsburgh had the second worst pass block win rate in the NFL. You can really only go up from there. So hopefully they will, for everybody's sake. Okay, we got a lot more to get to here on NFL live, is this Ezekiel Elliott's last chance to make an impact in Dallas, kind of crazy to say, but the guys tell us what Zeke needs to do in order to succeed. Find out next. We'll be right back. Don't miss the NFL's back together Saturday happening again with all 32 NFL teams. Practicing at their individual training campsites, we got coverage from every single one of them. 9 a.m. to noon, eastern on ESPN. And then from one to three eastern on ABC, this Saturday in just a couple days back together Saturday also available on the ESPN app and NFL network, your NFL live crew will be with you throughout the entire day. Let's read and react to the latest news, the thing set around the league, we begin with Miami and tyreek hill, talking again, but this time, it's about his fellow dolphins receivers, Jalen waddle, listen to this. Oh, they're scared. I'm gonna tell you what, they don't like he's fascinated at home. When I first got here, I was like, okay, here's a four three because typically, when you see three guys, you know, they don't run as fast on a football field, but they do, like he has to be, he has to run for four three on the football field. For the difference, right? So like I said, I'm very excited for the season. You know, I can't wait to see him blossom in. Continue to continue to move this game forward, which I know he will because he comes out here every single day and it runs hard and he wants to get better. Nick, would you be scared as a defense face in tyreek and waddle? You know what, as a defender, I wouldn't be scared because if they put me on him to cover him, it wouldn't even there would be no chance of me covering him. So I turned around, I look at the DBs I say, yo, cover this guy. He's really fast. I'm gonna rush the faster, but I mean, as a linebacker, defensive end, I wouldn't be scared. I'm not going against them. I would look back. I'd ask the DB's, oh, you scared. Don't be scared. He's fast. I'll get to the quarterback. Somebody else's job. All right, to the Chargers, we're head coach Brandon staley, got some criticism at times last season for going for it on fourth down. Here's what he's saying about it now. All of those decisions are about feel all of them are. They're about mindset and then there's the math that's also a part of it, but it's more mindset than math. I can assure you that. And it's the way that we want to play as a team. And I think that we're going to try and get better as we go. Louis, you like his approach? Yeah, you know what? I like the combination, Laura, of using the math and, you know, kind of going with the probability of you being successful when you make those kind of decisions to go for it on fourth down, in combination with understanding where your team is at, how the game is going with the game circumstances is and really a gut feel, but boy, there are going to be some people who are ticked off at that answer. This is going to spark a whole new ground of what do you gut versus statistics? I can't wait. Can't wait. I know. The eye roll is really important there for me, Lou. Okay, to New York, where saquon Barkley is preparing for a comeback. Here he is in camp. Guy got a bigger plan. And it's all going to work out. So coming up with this year, year 5. For me, I just want to, like I said, in my first interview, when I talked to you guys, this year, I just want to show the Giants that the guy that they drafted is still here. And I can still go out there and make a plays and help my team help my team be successful. Adam, what are the expectations for saquon this season? Well,

"People's mouths from and keep them from asking you questions if you don't want answered. If you just answer this stuff on the football field and you know, look, I think this also speaks to the desperation that teams feel to have someone that they can put forth in front of their fan base in front of the rest of the people of their organization and say, see, here's our king. Here's our franchise quarterback. We have one. And they will desperately do whatever they can to hold on to that. Especially if in this case, remember, before Kyle Murray got drafted number one overall, they had drafted a quarterback in the first round named Josh Rosen, the year before. So this is not a team that's willing to just kind of go ahead and say, you know what? We're going to walk away from this situation when we married this guy with this head coach because we thought they were the perfect marriage, which is the right thing to do. They thought that schematically and culturally and fundamentally this fit. This was going to take them places they haven't been before. And now to have this kind of clause introduced, I'm just telling you, it is it's something I don't care what line of work you're in. If someone puts some kind of a denim in your contract that said, we don't quite trust how hard you work at it. Yeah, I take that pretty damn personal for sure. Well, Kyler was asked today if he was mad that the addendum was added to the contract and he declined to answer that. I think the other big piece here guys is a decline that you see in Tyler's play in the latter parts of season. So for instance, the last 8 games that Kyler Murray started last season the Cardinals went to 6 after getting off to that roaring start at the beginning part of the season. Murray had 7 touchdown passes and 7 interceptions in those games. More on this coming later, but let's get to some more news today with Adam. We start with an unfortunate scene at buck's camp with senator Ryan Jensen. Laura Ryan Jensen's Buccaneer center who is an inspirational leader on that team a tough guy on the offensive line. Cardi off in practice today goes down in the middle of practice today. You heard him yelling on the field. You saw him throwing his helmet. So if somebody is tough as Ryan Jensen is on the field laying there, throwing his helmet being carted off, you know it's not good. And I've been told it's not good. Again, I think the Buccaneers know and they're just not ready to say how severe it is, but I would be surprised if it's not a significant knee injury that sidelines him for an extensive amount of time. They just don't want to say anything just yet because testing is still ongoing and they're going through that process, but right now they're going to have to prepare to play without Ryan Jensen who went down today and this will be a big loss for an offensive line that already lost Alex Kappa to the Cincinnati Bengals in free agency and Ali marpat to retirement. So now you take the entire interior part of the offensive line and it's being remade as Tom Brady came back for this upcoming season. Yeah, Louis, you automatically think about Jensen right and hope that he's okay and you think about his career and all of that. But then you naturally go to Tom Brady as Adam just did. If Jensen has to miss timing significant time, how big a deal is this? Laura, I don't think we can understate how big of a deal it is. I think when Tom Brady said he was coming back one of the first people that I believe he said that he had contacted was Ryan Jensen and Ryan was really, I guess on his way towards resigning anyway, but he knows how important the interior three of his offensive line is to his style of play, which isn't one where he's out on the perimeter where they're moving the pocket for him very much so he can get away from pressure and or change the launch points of his throws, Tom likes to sit about 5 to 7 yards, 8 yards right behind the center. Right between the two guards. So the interior of the pocket needs to stay secure for him. He has three totally new people there from, you know, as opposed to a year ago. And now, he doesn't know what kind of protection he's going to get so fundamentally from a passing game perspective. This could totally change everything for him until we see just how those three players in particular gel wants the regular season starts. This is a huge deal for them. Huge. Yeah, Lewis I agree, man. Listen, the last time I watched the football game, I don't think I've ever seen a game start without a ball snapped or kicked. So again, that center position is so vital for a quarterback, unless we've seen Super Bowl start off with a snap over the quarterback's head. So that position in general, pointing out the mic, understanding protections, getting your offensive line on the same page, a center is vital for everybody on the line and it starts in the middle and then it works its way out. So again, having a guy that's not going to be there that has been there been The Rock for Tom, I mean, that's a huge deal. So hopefully hopefully it's not a series serious injury. And rob where has Tom Brady shown that he's vulnerable in games with pressure up the middle. So now you lose your center, you lose both your guards and the starting center is likely to be somebody named Robert hainsey, Haines me from Notre-Dame. And so they're introducing a new center here, entire new offensive line. That is a problem area for the Buccaneers as they move forward, introducing the new center here. Robert hainsey from Notre-Dame. Ryan Jensen has played the most offensive snaps by any player in the NFL over the last 5 seasons. We got a lot more coming away on NFL live today really busy day here in glad you're with us. Trey Lance is QB one for the forty-niners, but he's still missing his receiver one at training camp. Here why Devo Samuel sitting out is actually a really big deal. And then we're gonna get to Lamar at camp practicing like it's a normal year, but we all know it's not and should he be out there. Here with our guys have the same. We'll be right back. More NFL live carries on nets. Hey, ESPN fantasy football is the number one fantasy game with the season right around the corner. Get your league started now at ESPN dot com slash fantasy football. We're back with Adam and some players that might be important to your fantasy roster as you're trying to put that thing together right now. So Adam, take us through some players who are at camp, but not participating as they wait for new contracts. Let's start with DK Metcalf. Well, Laura, this seems to be the trend across the league right now holding in rather than holding out. Players have to be there so they show up to avoid the fines under the CBA, but they just don't practice. There you see DK Metcalf, not practicing while he hopes for the new contract that both sides think will be coming at some point this summer probably sooner rather than later. Seattle has made it a priority to pay DK Metcalf rather than trade him despite the inquiries. And of course we have Derwin James, the charger safety, deploying the same strategy. He's off to the side. He's doing conditioning drills, and they want to pay him. He's a leader of that team. He's beloved and respected. He's a huge talent that plays the game a lot like Sean Taylor and the Chargers are about to reward him for it. The question is when they can get the deal done. Deontay Johnson pulling out the same play from that playbook of not practicing until he gets paid with all the big money going around to wide receivers. This off season. He's been a target monster and he wants to be paid like it as well. Pittsburgh's trying to handle the problem and both sides are hoping to get a new deal worked out very soon. And the same is true of deebo Samuel in San Francisco who's been looking for that new deal to forty-niners want to make it happen so he's off on the side doing conditioning drills not going through practice taking reps and passes from Trey Lance instead doing work on his own while his agents try to work out a

"Welcome to NFL live. Lamar Jackson is speaking to the media at ravens training camp in just a couple minutes. He's out there. Today, we'll bring you what he said as well as talk about what Baltimore is capable of as Lamar awaits a new deal. We'll also hear from dak Prescott. Today he talked and someone here says, unless dak can be Tom Brady, it could be a long year in Dallas, more on that is coming your way. Also, the reason both Mitch trubisky and Kenny Pickett fit better than Big Ben in the Steelers offense. It's all coming your way right now on NFL live as we welcome you here and we've got a lot to get to today with camps and swing all over the league, Lewis Riddick is here with rob ninkovich and Adam Schefter. We're gonna get into a lot of interesting stuff including a very intriguing day at Cardinals camp with Tyler Murray. Let's dive right in there as Murray, you may have seen the reports of the cardinals put a film study addendum in his contract for 230.5 million dollars. It requires four hours of independent study per game week and today Kyler called a surprise press conference to discuss this information getting leaked and more. Listen. I feel it's necessary, you know? With what's going on. As far as regarding me and the things that are being said about me, it's almost to think that I can accomplish everything that I've accomplished in my career and not be a student of the game and not have that passion and not take this serious is almost it's disrespectful and it's almost a joke. To me, it's I'm flattered. You know, I want to see flatter that y'all think that at my size I can go out there and not prepare for the game and not take it serious. It's disrespectful I feel like to my peers to all the great athletes and great players that are in this league. This game is too hard to play the position that I play in this league. It's too hard. Okay, we'll get into this, but what it makes you think is Nick is shaking his head is how this information even get out there in the first place. But let's start mink with you and what do you make of kyla's comments today? A lot of eyes in that a lot of eyes. Comments on himself and listen I don't care and really nobody cares what you did in high school or college or even what you did the last couple of years in the pros. I don't care. It's about what you do next. What you do in the future and listen, the media didn't put that in his contract. I didn't put that in his contract. We didn't put that in his contract. That's what the Cardinals put in his contract. So it's not really us or the media twisting things and making something a big deal. It was what was put into a contract, which puts a question in your head of what would you have to put that in there if you didn't have any questions about that. If you didn't, if you had no worries in the world about preparation and how you get ready for the next week and how you prepare and get yourself ready to go, you know, it's really for me, a lot of the eyes won't look what I've done in the past. Look what I did, not many people have gone undefeated in high school, but every single professional athlete at every single football player was really, really good in high school. We were really good. Everybody was really good. And then in college, we were really good too. So in the pros, it's different. It's a different level. So the Cardinals put this in his contract for a reason. And I have an issue with the whole press conference and it was more about, well, you know, I feel flattered that they think at my size, I could go out there and not prepare. But like, listen, everyone has to make themselves and get themselves ready to go because this is a league of professionals that are trying to provide for their families and look, he just got a huge contract. Great. I love when people get paid. But at the end of the day, the Cardinals put this in writing in this contract. That's the reason we're talking about it. Yeah, it's not the media's fault. It's nobody's fault. People are asking questions because that's what their obligated to do when they have this kind of thing. That gets leaked, an independent study of denim. It's something that people who have negotiated contracts for a living that I've talked to have said they have never seen. Ever. And you're right, rob. Look, I didn't watch film at home at all in high school. Didn't watch film in my dorm room in college. We didn't have film to take to our dorm room. The game has evolved a game has changed. Players are constantly raising the bar, especially when it comes to trying to find a tactical advantage. In the film room, in terms of their preparation, whether it be physically and or mentally. Somebody in Arizona doesn't feel as though Kyler, you're doing enough, or you're doing it at the level that other greats are doing it. And you know what? So far, you have put up some wonderful statistics. Top ten statistics have I argued for you to be in tier one as far as quarter, but well, that's tier one in the top ten in terms of quarterback rankings because you've earned that objectively by many of your advanced statistics that you put up. But somebody at your organization, unless this addendum is just, I don't know. I don't want to use the word fake news, but I'll use fake news. Unless it's that someone doesn't believe that you're doing all that you could do that could take you to another level that can not only raise your game, but raise the game of everyone around you because isn't that ultimately what everyone is after. Everyone's after championships, which for you means raising the level of everyone else around you so you don't get stumped by the LA rams in the wild card round on national TV. That's what this is about. So I would have loved to have seen him just take ownership up and say, you know what I need to do more? The highest paid player on this team I need to do more. And I'm gonna do more period. But he did. Louis, you've done contracts before you've been around contracts. There aren't that many people in an organization who contribute to the content of what goes into a contract. And there can't be an awful lot of people who have the idea of putting in a clause that states you must study for hours a day or a week or whatever this clause says. Now, I don't know whether this is right or wrong, but I can tell you that there's a perception around the league that it came from ownership that ownership wanted this clause in there. And again, only a few people are involved in the contract, and so now when you put in bars like this, that people think right or wrong came from way up high in the Cardinals organization a cast questions about the player and frankly a cast questions about an organization that's willing to spend 230 and a half $1 million in a player and still ask him to do his homework after practice and not play video games. So it just doesn't fit together. And so kyla Murray can come out and say, whatever he wants today, but the fact of the matter is all that matters is what he does on the football field. There's nothing that he's going to say that's going to change the perception and narrative that's been introduced by the introduction of an unprecedented clause until he can go out and play the way the Cardinals expect him to. And there's no doubt about that. Ultimately, that's what we always come back to, right? Things are ultimately settled and decided on the field. It can shut up a lot of narratives or shut down a lot of narratives and shut a lot of

"Screen locked. Like my buddy, you know, he works from home and he bought this thing on Amazon, where he moves your mouse. So with work tracks you, it makes it look like you're working all day. So he literally leaves for like 8 hours and just leaves the mouse on that thing and since the mouse is moving, the computer's on. Dude, same thing. Friends that say they have to move their mouse every hour or something, or else work knows that they fell asleep. There's some program that tells work that, oh, their mouse is moving, so they're totally lazy as American. Guys, we're going to hell in a handbasket. So Kyler Murray can buy that same thing and just be like, yeah, watch my game too. Three hours. Then you want to Amazon. It's all there. So the mouse keeps moving. Or just press play and then go leave it there. I don't know how they're going to, listen, I don't know how they're going to track it. But this just tells me that if you're an Arizona Cardinals fan, you had to be sitting there going, we have an absolute loser as a quarterback. You could also pay a college student, say, Arnold, for example. Obviously not the 20,000 that he wants. Can't you pay a college student, hey, watch this film, take some notes and then just give me the cliff notes. I'm not watching a game from week two, a three hour game. I'm sorry. But you know, when you watch it on film, it's not three hours 'cause you don't have the commercials and all that. Oh, it's almost what you watch. Every week. Yeah, it's just the highlights on sports. You know that, right? But if you heard that dak Prescott doesn't go home and study film, I'd be pissed. Yes, you'd be like, get rid of them. Get rid of this study how to make plays in 13 seconds. Do you think Peyton Manning didn't go home and watch Phil? You don't think Drew Brees went home and watched film? Well, for a while he was throwing sandbags, coach. They were dealing with a hurricane down there. I don't think he was watching film during those scenes. He was watching people leave their house as good. It's just wild to me. And here's the thing. I bet sometimes they binge film, sometimes they take time off. Murray benches any film. I'm telling you right now when the Titans sucked, they were watching film. But when they went on that streak where they won 6 or something in a row, they weren't watching damn film. They're hotter than a firecracker. I'll hang up and listen. Because don't they have like hours they go in and they watch film with everyone in the house. But that doesn't count. Part of his four hour homework, it does not count as team meetings. Those do not count. That's weird that they're giving them homework though. If you don't want to. This tells me they think he's watching a, too much TV and playing too many videos. Too much porn. Hey, video games is almost like. It's not reading a defense. Is he playing Madden? I don't know what he's playing. That's good homework too, coach. I just think it's like, I was watching a New England these game instead of the Patriots. He was watching porn. And here's the thing, Kyler Murray is one of the greatest athletes. What? Are you excuse me? Here are your last Ted statements. One of the greatest athletes of his generation. And where is he from Texas? Yeah. From in Texas? No, one of the greatest athletes. Playing at the university of Phoenix stadium. Correct. Houston. Do you understand what kind of athlete he is? He got drafted. Number one overall in NFL. Number one, so he's better than BoJack's. And he was drafted in the top ten Major League Baseball. Better than Montreal. That is unbelievable. It's better than no way. Well, then why don't you put them in canton? No, I'm not saying. Take them camping, dude, but that's what I'm saying. This whole time he's been able to rely just on his athleticism and he doesn't have to he's just quicker and faster than better than Jeter. The captain. Better than Jordan? Yes. Jordan, you don't think Jordan was working his ass off practicing. No, you just called in one of the best athletes ever. I said of his generation to be drafted in the top ten in both sports is unbelievable. That's how much of a freak athlete you have to be. It's better than Bryce Harper? So what's his Netflix documentary going to be called the best? No. You can't be. Can't be goat. That's Tom Brady, right? What can he be? What can he be? The film man. The filmmaker video games. He's like, oh, the gamer. The gamer. The game. Holy crap. I'm gonna watch the gamer before I watch the dance in the captain. It's the last dance, not the dance. We're gonna watch the last dance. I watched the dance last night and it was some kids prom, and I was like, this is not the show they were telling me to watch. You watched the whole season. It was actually pretty dang good. The final seat, it's a kid bag is 18 year old girlfriend. And if you're in there to visit your zone, oh my God, I love it. Kyler Murray doesn't watch tape. This is great. This is great. Yeah, that sucks. Are we in their division the Titans? No. No, no. Oh my God. You guys, okay. No idea. Wait, we're in the car. Eddie has freaking homework. Ready to go home and memorize the division. They are. Tell me who are in the Arizona Cardinals division. The Chargers. Okay. Is it the rams? The rams? Okay. And the Broncos. No, they're in the west. Okay, got them. It's the Broncos are with Oakland, the chiefs and chargers. Thank you. You got one of them, Eddie. Which one, the rams, the ram. Is there NFC? I freaking told you. The rams? Cardinals? The Tottenham spur? Niners? Okay. Good job. Is there a team in Montana? Oh my God. Oh, no raiders it's AFC. Oh raiders are in the Broncos do. No, they're AFC. And one more man. I'm gonna get it. I'm gonna get it. Nah, I'm out. Seattle Seahawks. You knew it was in that area. That was pretty far away though. Same west part though. Couch, but you're talking hundreds of miles. Hundreds of miles. Never would have got that. No. Where Russell Wilson just came from. Yeah, no, I didn't know that. But did you see that the Detroit Pistons are doing their old throwback logo? Love it. That's badass. Did you see that Notre-Dame's gonna do their old logo? The shamrocks? The shamrocks. Yeah. Dude, so why wouldn't the Titans do oilers? That would be very confusing. It was the Titans. And we don't have oil? No. They're not the oilers. No, they're not the ones dude all of a sudden a bunch of Saudi people are coming here. The

Are you ready? Yes. Mark the tape. Kyler Murray will never win a Super Bowl. Never win a Super Bowl. I mean, that's safe. Unbelievable, what came out about his contract yesterday. The leaked little paragraph about his contract is so unbelievable. It is something you do with your high schooler or your middle school student to make sure they do their homework. How did you get your hands on it? No, someone within the Cardinals organization. You know, you know someone in the Cardinals? They leaked it because they wanted Kyler Murray to look back. I don't think I was supposed to receive this. No, no, it's all in my mailbox. It was taped to my front door actually. Really? So when the whole season's off season started, Kyler Murray, oh, I want to contract or else I want out of here and he scrubs the cardinals from their Instagram, all that. He's like, I'm done with them and his agent comes out, says some bad things about the Cardinals and the cardinals finally give him a contract, but they want to make sure that you knew they're not the bad ones in this situation. Kyler Murray is the baby in this situation. Come on. What an absolutely what did it say? I'm deep teasing. He is not, he has to watch film for at least four hours at home per week leading up to a game. Or else he does not get his contract. You know four of those hours are going to be squid games. Come on. No. He can not have the TV on? And he can not be playing video games while he is watching the film. This tells you that Kyler Murray does not believe in watching film. He doesn't take the extra time to dissect things. Questions. Yes, you be in the sports genius. Do all you are under oath, do all great quarterbacks watch film and I'll hang up and listen. I 100% believe so. You want to be the best of the best. You know that Joe Montana went home every day and watched the film. Because like Russell Wilson last year was on the Manning cast. And it was in the third quarter of a game, and they were like, hey, you want to stick around for the fourth quarter and he was like, actually, man, I gotta get back to watching film for our upcoming game this weekend. Nice line. Payton said that? No, but he's Russell Wilson. And that tells me, okay, this dude's dialed in, like it is Monday night coach, and that's his out. It's like having kids. Exactly. That's like when you don't want to go out with someone and you're like, yeah, I can't, I'm getting my hair cut that day. Yeah, watch film of his wife, naked. Sierra. Did you see her at the espys? No. Google it, 'cause she was wearing nothing. Cal Google it. Coach, coach, listen, listen. You guys know how to scrub a computer? When I'm done with work, I'm done with work. But yeah, your work is not different. You're not dissecting defenses. This is me. At work, I listen to the competition all the time. Barstool or daddy? Here's a quote from Kyler Murray and The New York Times last December. About watching film at home and he said, man, I think I was blessed with the cognitive skills that just go out there and just see it before it happens. I agree. I'm not one of those guys that's gonna sit there and kill myself watching film. I don't sit there for 24 hours and break down this team and that team and watch every game because in my head, I see so much. Hey, there's such a difference between him and Brady. Exactly. His documentary came out on Facebook and Brady said how much Brady watched so much film and almost made me never want to envy a quarterback. It looked miserable. That is what I'm saying. You have people that want to be great and people that are just like, hey man, I'm good enough as it is. Don't worry about it. I got this. My family movie night. We're watching the Vikings in the cowboys. I think what this is. That is this game was two weeks ago. Is that Kyler Murray thinks he's just so gifted athletically and he has been his whole life that he hasn't had to study film because when you're that fast, if you're not reading film and, oh, I miss a blitz. Guess what? I'm so athletic. I can escape outside. I can run from those people. I don't need to look and see what's going on and what kind of defense is they're throwing at me and what this smell, that tells me right there he doesn't feel. He's just cool with relying on natural instincts. Watch do you read over your script for this podcast before the podcast? Of course, he writes and I'll hang up and listen. I mean, this is the most unbelievable thing that they have to put this in a grown man quarterback that they just gave $200 million to. He has a homework clause. And everybody has a threshold. Oh, I'm fine with them bad mouthing me. And then this tells us cardinals just had to get it out there and say, we're actually a great organization. This guy's a bump. This dude's crazy. He's a lazy bum why signer? I told you how bad quarterbacks are. That's exactly right. If you have a kid, get him a football pig skin in Alabama and throw the football around with dad. What a beautiful woman. Like Eddie, this is something you do with your high school kid that is not doing his homework. Yeah. So get out of here. The only problem is quarterbacks are hard to find. Is Kyler Murray. A franchise quarterback. Does he make them relevant? He puts them on TV. He sells tickets. He sells jerseys. He makes them a little bit more exciting. The Cardinals think they are built to win now. Your mom knows who Kyler Murray is? Got him. Point Eddie. Your mom knows who Kyler Murray is. My wife doesn't know Kyler Murray is. But my wife doesn't know who Justin Herbert is either. My mom will though. No, my mom won't. Does she know who Drew Brees? My mom probably not. Eddie, do you know his mom? I love his mom. So, what I'm saying is they are in a mom's grave. They think they can win now. And they don't have time. There's not another quarterback out there that they think they can get that is as good as Kyler Murray. But at the end of the day, you can always, someone will take Kyler Murray if he doesn't get tired of his antics, you can trade him. You'll be able to trade him, but is he had antics? No. They say he is. A commercial. There's the football embrace stuff. Obviously, obviously he ain't working too hard behind the scenes, but coach, how are you? He's forced that facility. They have a team issued iPad that they send home with him and it will be dialed in. He turns on the TV and the TV

"Talk to me at all? Yeah. Here's the next UFC Fight Night tomorrow from O2 Arena in London with our heavyweight main event number four ranked American Curtis blades number 6 ranked English man Tom aspinall highlights the stacked card, the prelims start at noon eastern 8 a.m. Pacific fall by the main card at three east or new Pacific on ESPN+. Last night was a good night. Is the rams unveiled their Super Bowl 56? Is that correct? I gotta get better at math and room. We'll bring on Thursday night. The shape of the Super Bowl ring mimics architectural and design elements that SoFi Stadium, the .23 carats of diamonds on the columns represents the 23 points scored in the Super Bowl. Pretty sweet there, not a lot of bling. A lot of bling, Niko, you got a couple of rings. Any ring night ceremony memories? Well, I mean, that's a great time. Everyone's having a good time. But the back to the ring thing. We're pretty soon they're going to wind them up and then like the trophy is going to pop up and then it's going to go back down. It has a removable top. All I can think about. All I can think about is my three year old saying, daddy and have the ring, and then the sofa is the stadium's gone. The stadium top's gone. Where's the stadium? I don't know. And then he points to the toilet or something. You're like, oh no, now we got to rip up. We got to find it. So yeah, it's beautiful. The ring is beautiful. But oh, that's a pretty ring. It's similar. They're similar, you know? What was that? Our fourth, then we had the 5th. No sunroof on that one, yeah. That's like the panoramic view. I get the sense. It's the second to stay open air. That's the second one. So that's fun. You know, congrats on the second one. All right, let's talk QB's all right. You want to talk about your quarterbacks. We will talk about quarterbacks as Madden NFL 23 has released a top ten quarterbacks who are the top ten. I'm glad you asked. Coming in at number ten overall, we were just talking about him. The reigning Super Bowl champion. That is Matthew Stafford, who has the fourth best throw power rating, and this year's game is an 85 overall. We'll talk about that one. I don't like this. A little bit. Matthew Stafford is Super Bowl champ, a former unanimous NFL MVP comes in at number 9, his name is, of course, Lamar Jackson, the fastest quarterback in Madden NFL 23, his speed rating comes in at a 96. That's like top 12 in the entire game. He is pretty impressive. At least he's top ten. I mean, other rankings she wasn't even top ten. Like what are we doing? Get them on the list. Stop tan Russell Wilson number 8 and 87 overall as pocket presence and ability to keep the play lives being one of the best quarterbacks in the game. He has a new team this year. I missed him a few times. He's very shifty. And he is quite shifty. Hey, and we're gonna get to the youth movement here in a minute is at number 7, we've got a 20 full year old gunslinger. That, of course, being just in Herbert, who's the youngest quarterback on this list, when I'm only two quarterbacks will know for more than 5 thousand years yards last season. Not far behind him is number 6 on this list or not far in front of him, I guess I should say, dak Prescott 89 overall who ranks third in this year's game in terms of throw under pressure category, interesting, slotting there for dak Prescott great prior to a captain injury last season. A big, big year for Joe burrow continues. He is now 90th overall in terms of Madden rating. He has the highest accuracy rating on mid range passes Madden NFL 23. This guy was the toast of the town of the NFL for much of late last season. Number four minko, this guy might be too low. Josh Allen, 92 overall. He's the top throw power rating coming in at a 99. He's a big boy. He's a big, strong quarterback he can make every throw on the run in the pocket. Yeah. He's the real deal. He's a beast. He's like your size. And he plays quarterback. You were number three. Throw me. Patrick Mahomes. Nah, you throwing back. The chief quarterback has the top throw on the run rating in Madden NFL 23. He makes some crazy throws that nobody could even forecast coming. No tyreek hill this year, a new look chiefs offense, of course, we'll talk about that a little bit later on. Show, top two, not gonna surprise anybody, reigning back to back MVP, Aaron Rodgers, 96 overall. He's top four in each of the throwing accuracy quarterbacks, also ranking second and throwing on the run. And I'm trying to think, who do you think will be number one? Who's not on the must be my old teammate, Tom Brady? He was a 99 rating in the fast category and holds a top spot in deep throw accuracy. He's got a 99 ranking and a handsomeness. Who knew they had a handsomeness category? His hair looks good. It's a good point. I'm just kidding, that's actually not a real category, but he would have a 99 in case anybody was wondering. Here's a little pop quiz for you, Robert. What was your highest rating ever in that, do you know? I'm gonna say my highest rating was at 87, but it didn't matter because once the game came out, I just boosted all my stats in 99 anyway. Okay, first of all, great strategy right there. Second of all, you undersold yourself. You were an 89. 89 one year. You came into an 83, too. Before you played a game, you're already in 83 and you let the NFL world on fire as a rookie. I would have put you to the 9 9 club. Anyways, let's get back to the current top ten. Robert is, of course, always in my own top ten, but number ten, Kimberly, was Matthew Stafford. 85 overall. Your thoughts on the matter. Honestly, what more does Matthew Stafford have to do to get some respect? The man literally just won a Super Bowl. Why is he why is dak Prescott at 6? Why is dak Prescott ahead of him? Once I got to 6, I just want to throw this whole list away because I think the criteria, it just seems arbitrary. Because if it's based on stats, only then Aaron Rodgers, the two time MVP should be one. So I don't know what happened. I was okay with the list for a little bit, but then the rest of it throw it away. Hey man, Kimberly's guys, he's got a point there. If you're the two time MVP back to back, you should be number one on the list, but what it seems like they did is they just took all the stats, right? From last year and said, boom, here's the best quarterbacks 'cause there's no way that Patrick Mahomes automatically just vanishes from the 99 club after being there for one year. And Lamar Jackson go from the 99 club to the 87 club. That doesn't make any sense to me. You got Justin Herbert. A guy who doesn't want to play off game. And then dak Prescott who hasn't had much playoff success ahead of guys that have played much better. And yeah, Maggie cyber did lead the league in interceptions, but dang, come on, man. He got a ring on his finger. He got to be release a 90? Yeah, I'm a Kimberly on this one. They should have taken dak and just swap that. You swap. You put that down and you bring Matt up, because he's a champion. He won the Super Bowl. Come on, and then the number one. I'm like, Tom Brady. So you look at the stats. Of course. Okay, the one, two, I have no issue with the one two. No issue with the one two. You could have, you could have Aaron Rodgers. You could have Tom Brady at two. Well, it's fine. It's fine. The 6 and below, I got a little issue with that. Yeah. I got a little news for you guys. Matthew Stafford, maybe an 85 overall Madden. He signed a $160 million extension. This off season. He won a Super Bowl. Yep. He also joined Instagram earlier today. I think things are looking pretty good these days and the Stafford household. So I'm sure he'll be okay with that 85 rating. All things considered. Hey, coming up. Robert tells us how tight ends create matchup nightmares that receivers are running backs don't and why that's so important to the quarterback. Dallas Garth, he agrees. No one likes straight receiver keys. We take their cuts down. We take their catches. You know, running back there, you know, they're running back through the offense line they're yelling, we go out and get attention. FX's American horror stories. There is this stain inside of me. That's always hungry. And I can't stop. The twisted anthology returns. You didn't think too much in the room where everyone dies that goes nuts. A nightmare every week. "About, but what Lamar is doing right now, he is simply focusing on football. He's letting all of us talk about the money and paper watch and all the other stuff because he knows it doesn't matter what happens on that field. He's going to get paid by the ravens or by somebody else. So all he has to do is go out and focus on winning the Super Bowl and I think he's doing it the right way. Guys, I do not know when Lamar Jackson will put pen to paper. What I do know is that the ravens are sick on me. They are sick of me bothering them, asking them what's going on, what's the latest because unfortunately for the rest of us talking about this as of right now, nothing seems to have changed. They want to pay Lamar, Lamar wants to be Baltimore, but Lamar is focused as RG three is saying is focus on getting better and focused on winning a Super Bowl there and he's confident that he can do it. So one of these days on a random Tuesday, I totally picture the team tweeting it out casually like, oh yeah, yeah, he's back and he's under contract forever. Yeah, so if I'm Lamar, you really can't see me right now, but if I was Lamar I'd back up, I put my feet up. I'd have my hands back. Feet up on the table. I'd open a paper up. I'd be just really relaxed, you know? Like, hey, this thing just keeps going up and up and up. I just be chilling. Get ready for the season, of course. But again, every single time a quarterback gets paid, it just keeps going up. So Lamar is looking at he's like, I'm the MVP here. Look what I did. Look what I've done. And I'm telling you, he needs to get paid more than what Kyler Murray just got. He should be the number one pay quarterback in my eyes. 50 $.3 million would be the marquee has to clear. And you know agree with ninco? Jake Paul, who took to Twitter and said, Lamar Jackson deserves that Murray money plus plus Lamar Jackson, not too long ago, quote tweeted that, said my boy with a pair of 100 emojis, so apparently the mar does have his eyes on money that surpasses kyla Murray, sounds like he's got a pretty deserving case. And that's not gonna put a lot of the Patriots coaches app has been announced. "But NFL live camps are open. There's Patrick Mahomes, we're having a chiefs game. He's got the monarch's throwback. That is fresh right there. And by the way, devonte Adams in the same division as Patrick Holmes, Patrick Mahomes, you're going to hear from him and his quarterback Derek Carr they go all the way back to their college days. Car took the podium for the first time during training camp earlier today. Ravens haven't yet opened up camp officially, but you see Lamar Jackson is already in the building this week. Big question is could a contract for him coming up next? What a treat we have here is we have rob nikov in the studio of saint low, welcome to NFL live. I'm field Yates and then you see our panel or do our dynamic dude. Robert gert from the third and of course Kimberly. Martin, here for the full hour and you may have heard that yesterday, Colin Murray became like rich rich. And he spoke for the first time moments ago since he signed a new deal, take a listen to what he had to say. Three years ago, we were all in here. After getting drafted, it was one of the best days of my life. And today, three years from here, from there, sign an extension. For me, man, it's a blessing. I've done a lot of great individual things, but again, for me, the goal is to win championships. And I feel like, like I said, this is the start. I mean, I think with a lot of the reps and experiences that I've been able to go through these past three years will help me help bring along all the rest of my guys. I wasn't really too worried about the negotiations or what they discuss behind closed doors. Anybody close to me, you know, will tell you, you know, all I care about is winning. And all I care about is going to work and working hard. So that was my focus. All right, so with that big contract comes big expectations, especially in the second half of the season. Look at Kyler Murray's career so far. The Cardinals have struggled after November 1st. Murray has lost almost a full yard per attempt in that span and is total QBR is taking a pretty dramatic hit. As you see there as well, so Nick, as we start a conversation again on day two of the Murray contract negotiations, our Murray contract discussions, I should say, considering what he's done so far in the NFL, how much pressure is there on Kyler. Now that he has this deal that makes him one of the richest players, the league has ever seen a lot. He's got a lot of pressure on him. So listen, he's going to have to win. He's going to have to win now. He's going to have to put this team in position to win a division. He's going to have to win a playoff game. I mean, you don't just pay somebody that kind of money and expect. You know, maybe we'll be like 500. It's not a big deal. You got to win. You got to win now. And there's no excuses. You can't say, oh, you know, they got other things going on with contract. He's got a contract now. So now he's got to go out there. He's got to lead his team. He's got to be the best quarterback for this team for a long time to come and he's got to win now. Yeah, I think that's exactly why they paid him the money that they did. And kyla kind of hit the nail on the head when he said, he's had some great individual accomplishments. He has. He's the only quarterback in NFL history to start his first three years and have 70 passing touchdowns in 20 rushing. But he hasn't had the team accolades that he's really searching for. And yes, he says he's all about winning and guess what? He won in this contract negotiation slightly with you to God I put a guarantee, but hey, 231 and a half $1 million and a 160 megahertz isn't anything to be mad about, but for collaboration, when you saw the graphic of how he fell or how he falls off after December 1st, it really just comes down to he's got little legs and then things get tired. Clip Kingsbury's got to find a way to get more out of the rest of their roster not including Kyler Murray and Deandre Hopkins and I think they have that chance early in the year with D hop being suspended for the first 6 games. Yeah, guys, the one 60 million guaranteed is a big number, but the 7 and 15 that field was just shown on the screen. That is, those are also huge numbers. And that's part of the equation here. When you talk about November to January and what we can expect to see from Kyler and this team. At an NFL GM, an NFL GM yesterday text me, what has he done to be behind only Aaron Rodgers and ahead of mahomes and Josh Allen when it comes to how much he makes a year. And his response was nothing. And that sort of what the some people in the league feel, like he hasn't proven that he deserves that much money. Now, I am all for guys getting paid. The question is can Kyler make the guys around him better? We have no doubts about his individual talent, but to be a champion, that involves an entire team and being a leader of that group. Well, I think Kimberly heated up nicely, mink, is Kyler a quarterback that in your eyes can take a team to new heights because when you sign for the second richest contract ever in terms of guaranteed money and average annual value, I think the expectation is you're a quarterback that's good enough to win a championship. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know that answer, because if I was in that position of having to pay him that contract, I would want to see more from him. I would want to see more production. I would want to see him in November. That's like more of a no than a yes. To me. It's a no. I wouldn't have paid him that much money. I wouldn't have paid him after three years, especially you look at, you know, look at the top 5 quarterbacks what they're making per year. You know, they're throwing for 40 500 yards, 40 touchdown 50 touchdowns. Crazy numbers. And at this point, he's only the highest he's ever thrown for his 3700 yards. I know that's great for three years. But again, I need to see more and I also need to see this team win more. In case there are people out there that are like, hold on now, Nick, let me show you a little something about Kyler Murray's excellence. We are here to try to convince you and other naysayers. Let's take a look at top three Kyler Murray plays. Here he is using his own legs. He scrambling, extends the play, scrambles to the right to avoid the stack. They cut back, he stoops two defenders and then finds a way to throw them all to rondale more down the field. That was week one of last year. That was good enough for a first down. This guy's like mighty mouse out there with his legs. And I don't know what his Madden rating is for speed, but he is very fast. Week 15, 2019 as a rookie calamari takes the run to the left himself. He's finding holes here in left and right. That is off the racist name. Goodbye. He's very fast. Yes, he's very fast. He's very shifty. He is very, I think you might have had a chance to catch him and I'm more of an angle guy. You have to get on the angle. Not your straight line. That was good for 35 yards right there. And then finally, how about this? A clutch throw. Y'all remember this play? Hail Murray. 2020 week ten against the bills. They're down by four points with two seconds left to go 43 yards away. What does he do? Throw it up. What are the bills not to? Knock it down. It's a touchdown. Two Deandre Hopkins. The Cardinals win 32 26 and perhaps the best highlight of Kyler Murray's career came earlier today as during his press conference when it's addressing the media. Who do you see right there? Bottom left of your screen. Swoosh. Collars adorable, awesome, very good doggo. And that's how you know life is good. My dad's up there talking about $230.5 million. And I'm just here chilling. Life is good. Free bones for life for swoosh. He is great. Let's take a look at where Tyler's contract stacks up relative to other quarterback contracts around the league. This is in terms of most guaranteed money. Number two, still 70 million shy of, of course, deshaun Watson, which brings us to Lamar Jackson, who could get paid and up to this point. Lamar Jackson, when you factor in the 5th year option, he slid to play on right now. We'll have made $32.8 million for the first 5 years of his career. There's one person on this set that knows Lamar Jackson extremely well. That, of course, would be Robert Griffin the third who played alongside Lamar for a few years in Baltimore, what do you make of what this means for Lamar Jackson? And if you were Lamar right now, and he asked you for some advice, what would be yours to him? Oh, my advice to Lamar Jackson right now will be keep doing what you're doing because every day that passes by the number goes up. Earlier this off season, I was like, okay, you know, maybe the 230 million guarantee that Desean Watson got what be enough for Lamar. Not after that Colin Murray deal. Now Lamar is looking at about a 6 year $325 million deal. Really guaranteed that's what he should be thinking
