Yu Darvish Takes No-Hitter Into 7th As Chicago Cubs Beat Brewers
"About That the best Yu Darvish has thrown is a member of the Cubs. He took a no hitter into the seventh inning of what turned out to be a 42 Cubs win over the Brewers of Wrigley Field. Justin Smoak broke up a no hit bid with a home run in the seventh. But Darvish was approaching the 100 pitch mark, so he wasn't too concerned about the No. No, the same time. I know I'm not going nine ng because of pitch count, so Just, you know, trying to keep the game close, which, of course, he did. Niko Horner and Kyle Schwarber home, Oring and Darvish, noting that the starting pitchers on the staff push one another way of putting pressure on each other. So that's a that's a group pressure for us and the Cubs with a major league best 13 and three record. White
"Too many stories" of murders, sexual assault and harassment at Fort Hood prompt outside investigation
"Army specialist Vanesa G Yen was killed at the Fort Hood Army post in Texas. He ends death shed light on a pattern of abuse and lethal violence at Fort Hood. There have been eight deaths at Fort Hood this year. So far, five of those deaths have been publicly linked to foul ploy. That's Kyle Room for a senior reporter at the Army Times, the only secretary Acknowledged that the crime rate at Fort Hood, including murderers, sexual stall, sexual harassment are higher in those cases than other army posts in the department of the Army's portfolio, so the Army has recognized that there is a problem. And Vanessa's case is really just one of those cases. That kind of encompasses from U. S. Army says it's now investigating Fort Hood to see if leadership failures are contributing to the violence. You know, there is a general perception, I think in the military that there are higher crime rates surrounding especially large military bases, and so you know. How much Port hood know is different from the norm. I think his is yet to be seen. But the Army certainly acknowledged that there's something different going on here, and I actually pulled some numbers from killing Texas, which is the city that surrounds for Hood. And killing does have a higher by the primary, then the statewide average in Texas, and that's pretty consistent going back. You know, years now, so it's It's something that the civilian community there was also recognized in. The police department has been trying to go after us well. Before her death again confided in her family about being sexually harassed. They said she did not report it at the time for fear of retaliation. Lisa Rinna Should Have "Warned" Denise Richards
"Daily, there been claims of affairs hookups and lies on the real housewives of Beverly Hills this season and last night more friendships were put into question. I should aborted you even though you run a plane, it should have sent a text. Didn't I think that's where you feel really bad. Because you don't work. In that tearful exchange at least arena admitted, she should've worn denise about the affair claims Brandi Glanville was making about her if you haven't been keeping up brandy told the ladies she hooked up with Denise and she brought it out while cameras rolling. Do you think Lisa's should've warned her? I have such a new appreciation for talking about this show now that I'm back on watching it because of the quarantine and this. is so nuts I just every week I cannot not believe these are grown women that are like acting like this. If you like Kyle, only one that has like a symbol of normal normalcy i. I only witnessed in niece and Lisa sort of not at odds. But at least it just sort of being like look you Kinda signed up for this show like I never got a moment of honesty. You're always sort of dodging things. You're always sort of trying to botch the scene. So I feel like that moment was a little inauthentic in my opinion I don't know I just feel like really want want her to be honest, I'm sure she did feel badly after thinking about it but in the in the dynamic, you've seen the two women you haven't really seen even though they've known each other forever give it really seen them be really close throughout the season if that makes me. Feel like are the people on this show even remotely for someone tells you something? Wouldn't you be like okay these told me something about my friend I should probably let her know that this is coming like no, but Lisa likes to stir that pot a little bit on with. TV and wait for the cameras and have it all day. What would you do if you were in? Lisa's situation would you go to your friend and let them know that this is coming out about you? For, they're gonNA attack you know. I. Yes, I would tell my friend I think I was like you know regardless of the show I know that it's a show and I know that you want to get as much content on there to make people go oh, my God what's happening as I normally do whenever I catch to show but I have to let your friends know especially something like this. Could you know Kinda tarnish your reputation and people view you differently and you got to tell your friend? Last time I checked they are friends. Yeah I don't know that I'm saying like the full season has been very like they've known each other for a long time. They are friend I think Lisa's like the in for wide Denise's maybe on the show but I also know that Lisa had an incident a few seasons ago where she dropped the bomb about something that about information that wasn't her talent that if backfired so I know she was more guarded about saying something but you know this is why we watch this show because it makes absolutely no sense. No Sense. Another exactly. Exactly have you ever been in that situation before because I've been in these situations where I have found out some information about a friend or even like a an acquaintance that I? Respect. If I have found out something about them or rumors going on or their husband or boyfriend has cheated on them, I'm go to them and say look I cannot live with myself knowing this and seeing you go by completely in the dark this is what I know, but you have to take it upon yourself to. Investigate further Have you guys been in that? I. Feel Like I've been in that situation since like fourth grade like there's always something to tell there's always something you see there's always something going on. There's always information that you're privy to, and it's always that decision of whether I tell my friends and not I think it depends on what that is. If it's something like with the friends marriage or something internal, you have to let them I. I think figure that part out on their own. But if it's something you know miniscule or something that one of your girlfriends, your male friends set to somebody else or something that rubs you the wrong way. Then I think you should say something but I think it's deciphering whether or not. You should inject yourself into somebody's business or just play the outskirts and just see what's going on from outside.

Prince of Persia VR Escape Room Announced by Ubisoft
"There is going to be a prince of Persia VR. Escape Rem I don't honestly fully understand how this works, but I got excited today. When I saw people sharing screen shots from a new game called Prince of Persia, the dagger of time, but was surprised that it was being shared so casually. You'd think new Prince of Persia with inspire more excitement, but then I looked into it a bit more and realized the screen shots were being shared for Prince of Persia VR escape Rome experience, which is very strange and interesting, but certainly less exciting than a new prince of Persia. Persia game proper I'm going to read the whole description for this thing from its website. It's a long, but I think it answers most of the questions I had about it Prince of Persia. The dagger of time is a virtual reality escape game set in the world of Prince of Persia which enables you to experience time control. You will be able to experience something impossible in real life to slow stop or even rewind time. Quick aside here I think we've done a pretty good job slowing down time to a stop over the course of the last few months so. You can't experience in real life. Continuing the dagger of time takes place in the setting of the Prince of Persia Trilogy Sands of Time Warrior. Within the two thrones, players are summoned to the fortress of time by Kyle, Lena to stop an evil magic. Kylian restores and gives the dagger of time to the players, so they can reach the hourglass shaped and use it to stop the Maj I, and then another quick aside. There's this'll asterisk there that I thought was funny. Because down at the bottom of the page, it says you do not need to have played any of the previous Prince of Persia Games in order to enjoy the dagger of time. I just thought it was funny that they felt like they had to specify that continuing again. The dagger of time is an experienced built around cooperation between players of all ages to achieve shared goal. Collaboration is essential. You cannot succeed without your teammates. Being able to listen and communicate effectively is absolutely key to success in the game to three or four players team up to find a way out of a re-imagined. re-imagined fortress of time to succeed, they need to work together and solve puzzles. The puzzles will require players to interact with objects in their vicinity climb and use certain powers such as the time control. I've got a link to the website and the show notes, and though it doesn't have a release, date does show all kinds of places all over the world where you will apparently be able to play it. During this age of pandemic I. Don't know when I would actually get a chance to check this thing out, but if it's near me. And if it's safe, I will seek it out I. Want to try it I do wish it was just a new Prince of Persia game, or at the very least a VR Prince of Persia game that I play on Oculus at home, but you know this is. Nothing I gas.
Paper Mario: The Origami King reviews are online
"Paper, Mario! The Origami King reviews are online and it's reviewing pretty well. It is currently sitting at an eighty four on metacritic at the time of this writing, which is the exact same metacritic review score as ghost of Suma. Those games really couldn't be more different, but they're going head to head this week because they share a release date comic book, Dot Megan Peters gave the game, perhaps its most positive review, giving it a five out of five, and wrote while the Origami Canfield formulaic at times. Times. This entry does more to re imagine the franchise the not it won't impress fans who were hoping for a larger RPG focus, but it's charming characters and story will fans hooked paper Mario has never felt so fun than with the Origami King and it's lighthearted. Feel is the perfect thing for Gamers to sit with this. Summer Sam Leverage from Games radar gave the game a four point five out of five, and wrote the latest paper Mario. Title is a joy to exist in an excellent. Excellent story, charming characters, and the ability to team up with your oldest foes makes the Origami, King a triumph? Yes, it may not be the new thousand year door RPG, but it's something special. That should be celebrated into the show and genuine personal friend Cereal Vasquez wrote a review for Gamespot gave the game an eight and wrote with a newfound combat system that steals the show offers a novel take on turn based combat. It's winking nodding. Adventuring shines brighter. Its world and characters might not be. Be The series best, but it's able to consistently throw left turns good gags and smart surprises at you. Each piece of the Origami King elegantly fits into its whole, taking its irreverent flair to new heights. The paper Mario Series has recently shown that being clever and being smart or two different things, but thankfully it's once again managed to both feel free to direct all your compliments on my flawless surreal impression to the gaming ride home, twitter account another friend of mine game informer's Ben Reeves is. Recently the new host of the game informer show podcast. Go listen to that gave the game a seven point seven five, and wrote as a series paper Mario consistently explores new concepts and mechanics, which is exciting, but it comes with plenty of risks. Origami kings biggest chances don't pay off a satisfying way. I enjoyed Mario's hijinks, and all the misfits he encounters, but the new ring based Action Needs Refinement I hope paper. Mario's next twist on combat can rise to the same level as it's humor. There you go. Kyle did what you asked now. Please time my family. Let them go, please. What else do you want ideas? Cam Shea expressed some similar disappointments, but still had positive things to say about the game, giving a seven and writing the Origami King is a truly likable game, despite the shallowness of its new spin. On gameplay, it's characters are winsome. It's visual design is gorgeous. It's world is fun to explore. Explore and it storytelling is outside the box and playful at the same time. However, it could be so much more. Combat is largely unfulfilling, and your journey as a whole lacks meaningful choices for a series with RPG routes. That's a real shame. EGM's Michael Gaurav shared one of the more negative reviews for the game giving it a three out of five and writing despite everything paper Mario the Origami King is A. A charming game I wanted to fully explore every area of the mushroom kingdom I wanted to find every towed. I wanted to do everything except actually engage with the game's combat system in trying to write basic rules with every outing. Intelligent systems keeps fans of the franchise on its toes, but that can also start to distort the identity of the series itself. How can you perfect a formula if you're constantly pouring out? Out and starting again by the way from the time I started putting this segment together and up to now sitting in my recording booth and recording it. The metacritic score has actually dropped down to an eighty one

Looking Ahead After Kentucky Speedway
"Beli go to the all-star racist of course midweek. We're excited for that, but then on the next points race Texas in points. Were there a premium now? Kyle because Cole custer winning this race taking a playoff position only nine races to go before the cut-off yet you know we talked about it a couple years ago when Chris Butcher won at Pocono when you're outside the top twenty five or back in points far enough, and then all of a sudden you leapfrog into that top. Top Sixteen, and you don't just leapfrog into that top sixteen you leapfrog into the playoffs. You leapfrog all the way that's how simple it is with that win, so I think when we look at that that puts a lot of pressure on sixteen, Seventeen, eighteen, also on fifteenth fourteenth. Thirteenth twelve these guys. It tightens up it again I'm back to the musical chairs, analogy, the music just stop for somebody and that top fifteen and they got bumped out. They went into this race thinking. They were only a few points in or a few points now and now they're out completely. They've to figure out how to find their way back into it, so that is the amazing part, and that is the exciting part for me about watching these next eight or ten races leading up to that bump leading up to that playoff situation, because there's so many things so many strategies that go into it and you've always got to be looking behind you at a team that can jump. Jump in and win a race. Yeah, so yet. Pressure is mounting now so when this season started. What feels like two and a half years ago? It's hard to imagine that we're talking about just non-racist until we get to the play offs, so I think that because of everything that's been happening. I'm not sure how many people have even been paying attention to those playoff standings that much, but with coal customers win. That is open. Everyone's ass is open. The eyes of those people that are. Back to sixteenth Jimmy Johnson sitting in that sixteenth spa is the eyes of some rookies and some other teams that haven't won yet, but see that. Coq Gun win a race. That says that this is open to anybody and everybody could possibly do that, so the the pressure's GonNa. GonNa, amount here and we've. We've got racist coming up as some very difficult tracks, a coupla double header weekends that Never GonNa come along so many things happening that we can see a lot of shakeup in display off standings as we look at, it might not look anything like what we see right now, but cold customers proved to the world that is out there for the.
How to become a malware analyst
"You started out in kind of this this you know sort of loose umbrella organization the security. Checkpoints and stuff? But obviously it was a big jump between what you were doing there and moving up to a CTO and infrastructure manager, and so forth says you started configuring networks for small businesses so like. What were some of the major sort of stepping stones where you went from? This area of knowledge, and then you've got you know this this much higher in this tire. What were some of the sort of transformative things in your career that got you to where you are now where you're starting on companies, and so forth yet so when I said twenty, three, twenty, four, twenty, five, remember the age now and one of the big challenges in the olden days I should was Maui mostly through email arms. It was a constant challenge seems we would buy foul would say that I would change it with. Would by Boris you stop with the answer virus, but. Announcing to be constantly constant challenge to the businesses How could we start now at Einstein, which was the best dog. Back then as well coming into the network and we kept buying Butson kept going on today to see asking for more money. And why? Why did you spend this much money in the digital and so? From that? Advise up a full, many large companies and. I helped trying secure environments in addition a lot of recovery ransomware Congress opponent came after the next is. A lot of breach recovery's reach detection I'm cigarette. And one of the things, we always still route throughout my twenty s I guess ninety now getting more than twenty nine thousand eight is. It's a waste Maur so it's whether it's somebody opening an email attachment whether it's. Pushing out like wannacry into seventeen or glass. To Wasting Maui, that's the pain point, everybody. Okay. Well, let's let's jump right into. That did so. Our topic today, specifically ransomware, but malware in general, so we've. We've spoken about ransomware on on past episodes. We had a great episode of a while back. We might release it with a Christian beak of McAfee who else talked about the no more ransom organization, but certainly as you say Malcolm. Malware ransomware aren't going away anytime soon, and they're always sort of. Staying one step ahead of Cybersecurity, expert experts, and you know sort of counter, a malware methods, and so forth I've always. We're always putting new sort of Maur of the week up on our on our interest resources site, and all sorts of crazy things, things young gap jumping and all these new technologies that that. you know added to things so What is the state of ransomware at the moment? Do you think it's gone down? Stayed Up, stayed the same in the age of Covid nineteen people. You know being decentralized locations and working from home and things like that is that make people more or less susceptibility thinker it so I know. Unfortunately it's gone up till nine extreme level at Bobi the highest job we seem. In the last three years. It's happened in the last three months. Okay, I. That stems from various various things one is we've now. The premature is now gone where. Nitty gone, fall, but the people who are outside liver attendance, being more technical savvy sales guys us, not pulsing used to get with technology and the threats. Now we've taken coal centers outside of the rental. We've native. People who pay lowest salaries outside of the purposes of they've lost. A little bit permits security. I don't like that around actually thought about the New Orleans saints covering something up because their math got involved with different previous Harris. Get me started on the cardinals. Thank you thank you you thank you for the New England Bishops Anyway So the Wichita priest I don't support so I'm sure sure you've heard this and it made you love Andy Reid all the more when it was Andy Reid like one like what was the one thing that he wanted. I'm surprised that many people Dan up that quick but they gave him standing they'll have three tiny heart attacks and it's like nothing incomes of Kansas City quite like big red getting Gern in getting a standing ovation while he should always like he should even be treated nicely at Arthur. Bryant's that's how that that's where he can even yellen. no-one yells at him all right. He made such a PR move in a press conference saying he loves. They were like we saw thirty nine he goes. I love all the restaurants in the PR this guy and well he wants to eat it all of them. Winter no heat but I think he really does love it at all. I think he is being honest. Clint all right. Thank you but he. Here's the thing like I do. Love the guy that would go do that. They're like JR rider would've kicked this woman in the stomach because she was rolling down now Jim. Nobody's nobody's rescue over the weekend. Was it his first. What another notable moment in career is is when he saved the? At and T.. Center from a bat flying around during the San Antonio Spurs magic. We remember that in Santa swatted a live bet. The whole world all these the jam band fans these these fans of bands like these guys and they're great band they follow him everywhere they keep up. I've been doing mostly crowd work and to Folkston. It's it's been a really really fun way to kick off the show the singers otherwise go out first and let them know what's up. What are the how? How big are the house? What's a little bit? How big are the audiences what he played in front Hundred you know five six hundred and some of these places when Bowl we're doing Brooklyn bowl and that's one of the smaller places that we're GonNA end up the Mike Kind of going all Brooklyn in Boston and Chicago. Go check him on that and Let's get into some quick shower because some things happen in the world is worse. They weren't even super bowl related but I don't know if you follow Allah hockey but The Philadelphia Flyers had a new mascot. which is the scariest thing? Basically looks like a homeless man. Yeah homeless man not at home as scary but this one looks particularly scary like red bearded homeless man whose eyes look like. They're just blowing bloodshot dilated on the most math. You could ever have anybody. His name is gritty will raise in the gritty fan. Okay Sir will gritties in the clear layers Philadelphia police anytime. There's a story that it starts about Gritty Philadelphia police. You're I give by. How many years is to stay away from the elementary school said on Monday that they have closed their investigation estimation into a claim that the famous famous he's new he's not I would say infamous flyers mascot punched hunched a thirteen year old boy during November nineteen at the Fargo Center the investigation which has been completed and is no longer active determine that the actions sins of the individual portraying the flyers mascot did not constitute physical assault as it is alleged in a statement the fires we are pleased that the Philadelphia Police Department colluded? There has no merit who leads claim the police department statement so he may be what happened deserves a slap on the back for that someone gritty should gritty should be wearing a body camera. Always that we get the bottom of it. I think they should turn a black light on on the bottom of that thing. God listen our friend. Erick Eric Friedman. We said this on David Spade on lights out. Last night our friend Erick Friedman had the philly fanatic at his Bar Mitzvah and the guy who played the fanatic took the head off which. I don't think you're supposed allowed to do. And the smell the smells that came out of that head because he was sweating adding to I said Eric. What did it smell like? You said it smelled like Doritos Vodka and broken dreams if that's possible but that is a successful dessel mascot that's a successful mask. Fanatic is a guy definitely owns his own split level town home in Philly but for sure he has a roommate but the roommate back back to work from home. There's the distinction so I mean they unveiled this Orange Mascot A year ago hours you thousand eighteen but gritty quickly became a cult figure was described by SPN hockey analyst. Barry Melrose as the toast of the sports world. That's going far BARBERI. That's what you say. Bird Melrose has been hitting the head a lot gritty. Has I remember when the chief from the Super Bowl Patrick Mahomes of they're like where are you going next and you'd like to hang out with greedy world. He's the toast of this world. Why not so? The allegations take it seriously and conducted a thorough investing. I'm I'm sure it was a thorough investigation. Get him out. But he's terrifying. He is a terrifying mascot. But I will say this. I kind of liked that he's nondescript and it's it's weird like he's not a flyer he is the flyers mascot but Delta mascots like theme of just sort of chaos for the fanatic matic chaos. In for well I mean the only ways some for would be a great indie rock cast for you should opening for gas and IRC. Yeah the idea that. Just they're like look. We're GONNA take.

Nothing good comes from scurvy. In fact National Geographic writes about how your dreams can be affected by scurvy. You start to get very intense very very vivid dreams and studies have shown over and over and over again people suffering from scurvy. We'll dream of food. That what their body needs to heal scurvy interesting and they will be to the point where they are hallucinating. That they have that food so so they will wake up believing that that food is available to them. No kidding and then when they find that it's not available to them just be devastated because they they truly their brain told them that this was there for them reminds me of an old cartoon I saw when I was a kid. It might have been like a bugs bunny cartoon where a really tall skinny thin man in a really short stout man or stranded on a On a desert island in the short stout guy visualizes is is the tall skinny. Guy's a hot dog. I remember that in the hot dog guy looks at the little guy has a hamburger and try to eat each other. Yeah it's just like that Warner brothers. Had it going on. They knew it was up. Thomas Willis and expert on scurvy in the seventeenth century called it a falling down of the whole soul. He said there are numerous accounts. What's of hardened naval officers sitting down and weeping because I thought you were you were saying that one of the symptoms was a hardened naval? Oh now that would be weird in fact it. It's quite the opposite but we'll get to that. Who so what was I saying? Oh yes that's hardened naval officers a too gleeful away. I responded to that. Go ahead so then. Your arteries and capillaries begin to decay. And your blood begins to leak into your muscles and coagulates inside hide your arteries causing cardiovascular. Damage your gums. Start to engorge grow over your teeth If the tissues not cut off it'll start to protrude from the mouth health and Decay so then you just have this rotting gum muscle or tissue Falling out of your mouth and and and dying and and weeping. Oh it's coming out of you and dying and dead and it smells. How's real bad can imagine it? Sounds like you're decaying while you're walking around Yeah Holy Shit and this can happen. You said after like a month well well this. This wouldn't happen whilst ended. Yes it will start with the Malays. Okay the Malays starts within a month because one of the major effects of scurvy is that your body can no longer produce collagen which is the glue that holds your body together the the stuff that makes you bouncy a tart heart bouncy little muffin minimum little bouncy bitch because that Collagen isn't being created anymore your old wounds. We'll start to open up your scars token and you will start re bleeding from your your once closed wound all my God. This just open up all over. I mean it must have looked like on a long extended voyage back back in those days. When you're lazy it must have seemed like a voyage full of like zombies? Can you imagine what it smelled like. No if sixty five percent of the people around you were rotting. I can't imagine what it would have smelled like with a healthy crew on one of those ships but who. Yeah Wow and the cure. One fifth of the vitamin C. contained in a single orange administered over the course of a week. That would do do it. Yeah well I read a book about the Franklin expedition which I may do it. A deep dive on in a in a future episode but of course scurvy was one of the big issues that they dealt with They thought that they were going to overcome that. Because consuming meat can help offset the symptoms of scurvy which is why why indigenous peoples in the Arctic do not get scurvy. They don't have any access to fresh fruit. They eat like Walrus meat and stuff like that in those days. Ace but the technology at the time. The high tech of the time during the Franklin expedition was canned foods right canned meats in particular. The problem was since it was such a new technology. They seal the cans with solder. And so you not only got the scurvy. But you've got the lead poisoning reasoning. Yeah that was a fun ride. I bet so. The the knowledge that consuming foods containing vitamin C is a cure for scurvy. I I unfortunately was known long long long before people continued to die because scurvy so it was almost like the it was known and forgotten repeatedly over history. No kidding so in the fourteen and fifteen hundreds sailors were were known a to plant fruit trees on islands. That were the the inbetween. Stop no way because they knew that that was the way to to keep their their sailors. Healthy But unfortunately information spreads very slowly their journals of ship physicians dating back to the seventeenth century. That reveal that a good few stumbled upon the healing powers of oranges limes lemons and cabbages but they didn't get to become public knowledge. which is Is What led to this continuing doing for as many years as it did There are lots of reports of people being stranded From like they're not a shipwreck necessarily but landing someplace that they weren't familiar with with a bunch of sick crew and the natives providing them with scurvy healing foods so s-curves decline began in earnest in seventeen forty seven when James Lind demonstrated and published the power of citrus to treat the disease. And that's when it really really started to cruise. That is crazy. Yeah so why. Didn't that information gets spread around. Was it Trust higher hire you. They spread that information around and people said No. That's fake news comes from a pirate. Yeah it's It's hard to say. Why Ah it didn't catch on but like I said in the fourteen hundreds there are published not published but I guess it would be published there are writings about and how certain foods care scurvy is crazy? Well that's fascinating. I thought so the old wounds thing blew my mind. I can't even imagine really I mean seriously. Imagine having you know a sixteenth century mentality and knowledge of the world I mean they were certainly starting to learn. Discover discover and explore. But you go out on this ship and all of those symptoms start to happen. I can't imagine what was going through their minds. I can't and also I think about like I am a modern lady person who grew up in a relatively cushy situation relation I mean we were not doing great but I mean I was fine and I am covered in scars. So I can't even imagine what a pirate or a UH person who sailed the seas for a living must have been covered in wounds. Just like all your insights out inside of you all all of a sudden. I didn't even think about that. That's an excellent point. I was thinking all of my scars. I've got I've got a few here and there. One very distinctive one on my forehead. No one else notices that ever get sexy though. I've just say that I don't notice it. That's that came from a beer. Fueled Midnight Frisbee session. That's all I'm GONNA leave it at that but pirates I mean you're right I mean that's a rough life in there fighting. They're stealing there fighting some more or yeah I mean holy crap all the wounds that they would accumulate over the years of pirate in and they all open up at once. That wouldn't wow how about the captain. Didn't let them in his cabin. Get outta here Kyle. You'll ruined my carpet kyle. Now that makes me want to. Do you know my Kosovan on the Franklin expedition told them everything. There's some really cool stuff gotten to really cool stuff and maybe that'll happen once we get back on land ourselves because while this is running while this episode is available will be on the high seas. But I promise you freaks we'll bring plenty of citrus..

So thank you for being one who likely downloads listened to these tips on the same day. I release them. I really appreciate that. You're you're listening to the daily sales tips podcast and I'm your host Scott Ingram. Today I've got a quick excerpt for you from a full presentation. I shared yesterday on my sales success. Stories podcast this is Kyle Gut slur talking about one of the things. He did to double his sales in one year in this presentation at the twenty eighteen sales success summit action breeds confidence. If you WANNA have confidence you have to take action of confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear do not sit at home and think about it. Go Out and get busy. That's the point here. If you WANNA double your sales gotta get busy. The second point here is ignored the perception of what's possible. How many have you ever seen this? This goal from somebody this year in two thousand eighteen and I'd like to hit my quota. Wow that took some creativity in big thinking dude. You need to absolutely forget about your quota. Oughta do you know what a quote is. It's two guys in a conference room looking at a salesforce report and picking a number. It's a made up number and yes it's based off of data but who cares. You're not data. You're your own person and that's what I did when I was at pay scale is I said forget about what anybody else has done in the last twelve years I'm going to create a new reality and I remember at this last company. If you sold like one deal in a month that was pretty status quo if you sold to it was like okay. You're having a pretty good month if you still three. It's like wow. This is a great month and if you still four it was like is this guy on performance enhancing drugs. There's one particular month where I sold seventy one month and I broke the record for the amount of deals in my segment segment. That were sold so you have to completely forget about what your peers are doing about the standard that they've set and go after a target. That's.

"So when a stranger thanks Kyle Carpenter for his service as a US Marine. He's pretty automatic. Reply is you are worth it. Enlisting in the Marine Corps in two thousand nine he served for more than a year in Helmand province Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom when he and his fellow marines came under attack and in act of extraordinary sacrifice he threw to himself on a grenade to save those around him regaining consciousness briefly and realizing the extent of his injuries he drifted back into unconsciousness snus just a few moments later and was pretty sure he was taking his last breath and thankfully he was wrong. Kyle woke up five weeks later at Walter Reed Hospital where where he would learn that large parts of his face in his head and his right arm had been destroyed a needed to be largely reconstructed and he would have a long road road to recovery. Still he was alive and grateful now the youngest living recipient of the US military's highest honor. The Medal of honor in today's conversation in college shares. This extraordinary journey. His deep sense of service is love of people family. His Fellow Marines. What happened on that? Fateful Day along with his years as long road to rehabilitation not just physically but emotionally and spiritually his reclamation of life and hope and the legacy of kindness and service that he's working working to build along with his desire to help inspire people to really embrace life. Much of this is also detailed in a deeply moving memoir called. You are worth it so so excited to share this conversation with you. I'm Jonathan Fields. And this.

"I'm not matter you know they do but like John. Just said it. It's not there's more to it. It's not just the quarterback like there's eleven players on the field for each team at any given time right like kyle in like if you were to give give him a win or a loss based on his play as an individual probably probably have been lost probably takes an l. there with three fumbles. He threw the ball fine. I guess who's very very conservative throwing the ball but did you hit his his. His depth adjusted accuracy. QC is like really really average. It's just he he needed his let it fly. He has Greg Olsen got mad on the one down the scene where he was wide open open calendar though and he's done that a lot where he kinda double clutches when he's about throw and then ended up just checking down so it's probably his fault that Christian every touch displays place. I think the problem with Kyle Lounge right now is keys is not necessarily sure what he's looking at down the field like I won't take this away from he's got a good accurate ball. When he's on the ball down the field the problem is he doesn't really pull the trigger when he needs to the at times like he did have those tooth rows to Curtis Samuel which even though he missed them down the field he he made one later in the game but I think he threw the ball three times sam down the field night appreciated the fact that the can't the panthers were doing that just because it forces the defense to respect that but it feels like Kyle Allen a lot of problems are just that he doesn't make a decision quick enough and they're between the one sack fumble fumble where he didn't step up and pocket. Jj Watt hit him or the one where he liked decided to try and run and got sacked and there was another fumble. It's like Kyle Allen seems to struggle with making a decision and that's almost worse than a quarterback just checks it down or throws it out of bounce the chance because luckily it worked out for allowing on Sunday because the panthers still one but in like I would say seven out of nine games. You'll lose those games because of the decisions Kyle Allen's three and yet they can be damned. He's three now as the starter veteran Cam Camden three now but that's but that's just like being a backup quarterback though like that's almost every back quarterback in a nutshell is yeah you have the NFL like arm talent but your decision making is not where it needs to be. Vat of the year is making his. They're the talent. Isn't there like it's kind of an inverse with a lot of yeah I think more of them probably have arm talent. I think there are several players lots and lots of people that have arm to play quarterback in the NFL but it's the processing speed that gets a lot of people and that's check out the American Ninja Warrior podcast for a behind the scenes look at all the action of the show and more with your favorite competitors listening subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. Super Bowl Cam Newton studied soap. It doesn't get to that point. I hope not too but we don't know with Cam so but I'm sorry but I will laugh so hard. If Cam is hurt for the year we win the Super Bowl Colin and that would be the funniest I most panthers thing ever that would be the chaos and she super bowl that we liked to root for the best Thailand the best part kyle goes out and throws four touchdowns in the Super Bowl and we dislike oh no divest would be kinda goes out in like Peyton Ayton Manning's a team to the super bowl where like the team carries him on their Mac ever yeah he kyle just like seventy five quarterback rating for the season throws like three touchdowns and eight interceptions in the playoffs and the defense carries a team to the Super Bowl people be like Oh. You're willing to Super Bull Yeah we win the Super Bowl like thirteen to nine or twenty fast gaming yeah yeah it would be the best could happen. The panthers have played a lot of teams. Who will I should say all the teams who prefer to throw the ball more than run the ball this week they face Garter Men's issue the second who is the most entertaining player in the NFL right now I must say and he is coming off a game where he came back against the Broncos and won a football game despite the broncos pretty much having it in the bag and and Garner Menchu versus Josh Allen Kyle Allan Allan as he announces to say Josh Allen mm-hmm Battle of the backups. It's going to be a fun fucking time but one thing I want to touch on real quick is as the Jaguars ran the ball a lot on Sunday they Leonard fournette average ten yards yards a carry. He ran for two hundred and twenty yards on the on the ground and John. I know you that I know that you think that running. The football is stupid. I mean in any sense into that now you you. You've always said that passing. The football is a better place to run the football. Oh well yeah obviously so oh. The panthers will finally face a team that is really committed to run the football and over the last four weeks. The panthers haven't been great against the run. They've they've been really good against the pass and setting the team up to throw the football like forty fifty times allows their pass rush to get after them it but I think this is the team that is committed to running the football and this could be a problem so John you and I I have argued about this in the slack a little bit so give me your thoughts on Sunday as far as the Jaguars being a running football team. What do you think like. What do you think the defense in this regard? You should root for every team to be a running team against you because it makes it easier to stop so in simple terms where where did the panthers rank in total defense right are in rushing defense defense right now. Let me look it up. Hold on I know the number. One and number is not that. It's like twenty fifth or something right yeah something like that. Where do the panthers rank in pass Defense Number One. Where do they rank in events that I don't know five. They're a top five defense. Despite having a bad rushing defense it does not matter but the other quarterback has thrown the ball Watson through it the fifty times this weekend I know that the cardinals through it probably about fifty times the rams through it a lot to the only time they really even had success was on the ground. There are like three times that you can point to where teams have been able to win. Games is purely based on running the ball a vikings did in week one last week yeah but they scored sixteen points like they won because their defense like from a defensive point of view you and they scored sixty points return to block punt for a touchdown like their offense didn't work but it's the same thing. I've talked about a lot in the past like the Panthers Panthers even if they give up five yards per carry the five yards per carry isn't an accurate measure of what they give up on a per play basis with the run. It's really like to yards one yard two yards three yards twenty five yards and so on and so forth throughout the course of a game teams have to pass no matter what like sixty percent of the time they run the ball. They're gonNA gain like one or two yards at most and they're going to be behind the sticks and they have to catch up if you can stop them when they have to throw to catch up. You're you're fine. There is no it's almost impossible to go through entire game and not have to pass you can go through an entire football game and not have to run so it's more important this out the best yeah but what happens if they run the ball twenty five times and get over two hundred yards rushing. They'll probably get those two like seventy five percent of those yards on like three runs runs in the panthers will stop be fine for the other ninety percent of the carries bustling format the net yeah especially this is wonderful. That's wonderful link Jordan and then he'll rush ten times for one yard. I think Leonard Fournette has like three seventy. Five yard runs in the average is like two yards per carry for the rest of his career. I guess my concern would be this was a Cam Newton run panther's offense. I wouldn't be concerned about it but this is a kyle. Allen Run Panther's offense where they've scored aside from the cardinals game. You know you should be concerned at all. Brian Kyle got this. He's a franchise quarterback only does win. Trump polly does win win. No matter what the yeah I'm not I am zero percent concerned about the Jaguars run game and I think it's one of those things that ll it's frustrating for old school football fans and it's tough. It's a kind of it. Definitely doesn't look good live when you watch the panthers give up several big runs but it's one of those things over the course of many many years in many many games of of data. It comes out like Oh you can survive. Those rare big plays. Come out of the running game. I'd be less concerned about it if it was like Sean mcvay but it's Doug marrone we're talking about. He's an old school head coach. They're going to run the football John. It's GonNa Happen. I don't care how successful it is in the first clue nut chair either. GonNa Football as much as they can. I don't know Ma'am am after after the first half that could be a problem. I don't think so have you ever seen like I guess it's not true because Eric's have good running games. I've got offense but like there are no teams that are like we're just. GonNa run. Run run run run and have a top offense. The adults been doing it for a while. They don't have they always throw more than people. Give them credit for they do but over the last two years run the ball more than any other team in the league. Have they been a top offense last year. They were yeah scoring or yardage yardage. I'm looking at right now. It's an offense really this year last last year. Last year their eighteenth and offense s a horrible top top. I know they were one of the top teams committed to run the football last year and they did make the playoffs yeah but it's it's. That's like the the false equivalence thing where it's just like..
