"That one of the biggest propagandists for President Biden's ridiculously named inflation reduction act was the AARP. AARP, they're so called advocate for seniors, spent millions of dollars on ads and events helping liberals in Congress to pass this monstrous legislation. In doing so, AARP provided cover for vulnerable Democrats in the November elections. Why would AARP do this? Possibly for money? AARP is a massive conflict of interest over the last decade they've been paid north of $6 billion stomach from its financial relationship with UnitedHealthcare. Then along comes the AARP supported inflation reduction act. And miraculously big insurance and their PBM middlemen, like AARP's financial partner, UnitedHealthcare, emerges big winners. But then bringing the family together every night around the radio. These children are in need of an education. By the way, I'm bouncing around today, but still what they do we're covering a lot of very important substantive ground. You know, this Kyle Shanahan, the coach of the forty-niners. I know that's not substantive. Nonetheless. I think he's great. Look, I'm an eagles guy. I grew up in Philadelphia. What do you want? They look great. That said, these 14s are the best of the four teams. They're the best teams in the league. I think. They rose to the top. Certainly think that argument could be made about three of them. But Kyle Shanahan, I met him once. With his father and his mother. Years and years ago, when his dad was the coach of the back then the Redskins today, the commodores. The commanders or whatever. The chameleons is even better. And I really like them, and he was a gray coach, even for them, but they pulled the trigger so fast. Something about the DNA in the shanahans, they really know how to coach and to win. That's the one thing that makes me nervous. About the forty-niners playing eagles. I still think they're going to win. That is the eagles, but that said what I think doesn't matter. I'm impressed with the coach of the eagles too. Look, I'm impressed with all these codes. There's a lot of really good coaches. But that said, I believe the defensive coach for the defense under China, and I believe he was a linebacker for the eagles at one point. Now I'm going to say one thing over the air that most of you won't care about, but I'm going to say it anything. Did the eagles coaching squad? You better watch the passing down the middle between the numbers. 8, ten, 12, 15, 20 yard passes. Your defense is a little weak there. And that's where San Francisco hits anyway. The passing down the center. Got a tighten it up. And by giving away any secrets, I'm no Stephen a Smith

"Thursday. September twenty third. Twenty twenty one. Here's what's happening with your san francisco. Forty niners the first real practice of the week is in the books. Let me get you the news. Update those who did not practice. Kevin gibbons je michael hasty. Both of those guys have a high ankle sprain. Eric armstead did not practice with the ad. Dr muscle injury those that were limited emmanuel. Moseley coming off that knee injury. Although the forty niners did cut divergent from the practice squad so that is a good sign. That moseley could be back in the lineup against green bay. Trae sermon was limited in the blue practice jersey. Because of a concussion although kyle did say he was trending in the right direction and giovan kin law who as we know has a banged up knee although he did play seventy percent of the snaps last week so hopefully even if he didn't practice that much he can still get in the game also. The forty niners have signed another running back. That would be chris thompson. And they also signed defensive lineman eddie yarborough to the practice squad to make room on the practice squad. They did release tight. End jordan mathews now. Both kyle shanahan and jimmy garoppolo spoke yesterday. I i was just talking about the running backs. let's start with kyle shanahan. A lot of people have said that the forty niners favor the outside zone and they like guys that are super fast so they can get to the edge quickly. Kyle was asked about this yesterday in his press conference because like we pointed out they signed. Jaquez patrick who is not a burner. Who is six to two hundred and forty pounds. And kyle said that. Don't think that the only thing that he can run is the outside zone. Thing redeem changed a lot of stuff you know. So when whenever his speed which is different than everyone's We get used to having that and you start to design stuff for that which i don't think many people in the world can do But we've never been never said we have to have guys who run for threes. I was really never been like that if you look at the history of some of our runners and stuff it's just kind of morphed into that recently But we just look for who without the best runner would be They come in all different shapes and sizes. That's a really interesting thought to me. Because when the forty niners had their draft and we saw that they drafted two guards that were big guys than weren't necessarily as mobile as his guards usually are the thinking was that maybe the forty niners are going to run. More power runs up to gut with trae lance and maybe some of the other running backs on the field now. We haven't seen that so far but maybe it was something that's been on. Kyle's mind for awhile. It's not exactly a surprise that remo. Cert- got hurt. So maybe we could see more of the inside runs that we thought we were going to see when the forty niners made their draft picks in april and oh by the way maybe we see a little more trae lance potentially doing some of those inside runs against a very very soft green bay. Packers defensive front now onto jimmy garoppolo. We're gonna play a cut from ham which was echoed by multiple people yesterday. Kyle shanahan talked about it. Fred warner talked about it. And that is the crazy environment at the packers are going to have to come into on sunday night. You all know. Fans and leave is for the first time since the nfc championship game. Which oh by. The way was played against the green bay packers. It's actually the first real road game for the packers because if you remember while technically the game in week one for them against the saints was a road game but because of the hurricane they relocated that to jacksonville so that was more of like a neutral field type thing so it's really going to be the first road test for the packers as well. Eight is going to be a crazy environment. and jimmy. Garoppolo was asked if he's looking forward to it and he didn't pull any punches. Oh yeah yeah we Has been a while since packers were the last team. Actually with the crowd here. So it's i kinda come full circle now but it'll be exciting. Getting the faithful back in the stands can't wait to get all them screaming and everything like that it's gonna be it's gonna be a fun atmosphere. I think he's completely right and i would love. I am hoping that right out of the gate. The forty niners can get one big play either an explosive plan offense or like a bosa sack maybe turnover something big right out of the gate and just have you know that plays will be shaking. 'cause four hundred fans are going to be pumped and i think you could knock green bay out with a couple of big plays early. Specially since aaron rodgers seems to have one foot out the door already this season we always give you one thing to read one thing to watch and one thing you might have missed on the show. One thing to read on this thursday actually a good piece from david lombardi in the athletic. It's about the forty niners backfield and now that they've had all these injuries. What kind of a running back group can they put together and does the sort of narrative that kyle shanahan can just use any running back. He wants in the backfield to gain a thousand yards. Does that really hold up. When you examine it. I read it. And i have to say. I think the answer might surprise. You one thing to watch again the running backs given all the problems here. Cash-in-hand was actually asked yesterday whether he thought about checking in. I'm thirty eight year. Old frank gore. I would never put anything past frank by give them a little heads up some notice. You'll always be ready to work and help a team that was lower early for that in our guys still have a chance of playing this week never fully ruled that out on exactly where he is right now but a number of people in your relationship with them and that time ever comes that we need to do that and he wants to do it then whenever rolled out one thing you might have missed..

"Forty niners i. We always want to make sure you're up to date on the news on this show. So with brahima. Cirque on for the year john michael hasty out for a while with a high ankle. Sprain and trae sermon and elisha mitchell iffy for this week. The forty niners made a move at running back signing. Jacques says patrick off the bengals practice squad now before he was in cincinnati. Patrick was actually a member of the xfl's tampa bay vipers. Now he's not a burner. I believe you only ran a four six. Nine forty yard dash at florida state's pro day. But he is the biggest running back kyle. Shanahan has ever had with the forty niners. Six to two hundred thirty four pounds. He might not be able to run those outside zones but he's got some power there now. Let's get to the main point. I wanna make on today's show basically the forty niners communication and messaging. When it comes to trae lance stinks. Listen to this question and answer from kyle. Shanahan's conference call on monday. Plan not to use trae lance against the eagles. Or did the way the game unfold prevent you from inserting in place No i never have a plan that. I'm hey i'm gonna use her. I'm not gonna use them. Always an option throughout the game. I've been to games. And i've never had them in the openers and i've never had him as a designated time on doing that week to week and whenever i feel like putting them in you saw when i did and week one I never got that urgent week too. So there you go you just heard kyle say. He never has a plan that he's either going to use trae lance or not going to use them. Now listen to jimmy garoppolo on the rich eisen show yesterday after he was asked. If he gets a heads up before a game about trae lance potentially getting snaps sort of. I think you you kind of know what the situations You know the first game we got into the red zone and then they brought trae in but you know this game like we had plans for him to come in and it just didn't end up working out that way and you know it's kind of one of those things you got to be ready to roll. And when you know if he calls trae in their college and there it is what it is but You can't think about it too much. I'd say there you go. You just heard jimmy. Just said we plan to use him and it didn't end up working out that way. So what the hell's going on. Why is kyle shanahan. Not telling the truth. And by the way for the record. I get why. Nfl coaches. don't tell the truth. Okay i know they all lie. But here's the thing they lie for a reason okay. They lie to gain some sort of competitive advantage or at least what they think is a competitive advantage. But that's not what cow shanahan's doing. What is the competitive advantage of telling us whether or not he has a plan to use trae lance ahead of time or not from the beginning the forty niners communication about this whole situation has been horrible at different points. This off season kyle. Shanahan has set jimmy. Garoppolo is the starter. Then he said he'll play whoever's better then he said he's comfortable running two quarterback system going series to series or play to play. And now he's saying he never has a plan for trae. Lance and jimmy garoppolo is saying he actually does have a plan for trailer. It's it doesn't make any sense to me. And it never will. And i really wish that kyle shanahan would get challenged on some of this stuff because it's so so frustrating also later on in that interview with rich is and jimmy was asked if he wants to be in san francisco. Long-term you want to stay in san francisco. Is that what you want like to to be able to do. What rogers is done and brady obviously even did to you. Jimmy is that your play just cannot allow the organization to maybe move onto a drafted plan. Is that you know. There's a i don't know to be completely honest. I haven't thought that far ahead yet and one of those things that i'm so tied up with the season and everything we got going on. If if i could repeat with aaron did last year i would love to do that. That guy i mean. Mvp speaks for itself. Do a hell of a year though. So if i get you know replicate anything similar that i'd i'd be thrilled with it but you know after this year. We'll we'll figure that out when we get there you know it's We've got a long way to go. We're only a couple of weeks into this thing. That's a smart answer from jimmy. I mean i can't blame him for not wanting to commit one way or another. I can't imagine wanting to stay in san francisco much longer. Frankly after the team sniffed around every possible quarterback for two years including right. After i went to the super bowl and they trade three first round picks to move up to draft. One i get. Why jimmy garoppolo would wanna go somewhere else even though. I don't think he's a great quarterback from his perspective. He wants to start and he wants to be secure in his job every single week. That's natural. I mean anybody would want to do that. We always give you one thing to read one thing to watch and one thing. You might have missed something to read on this wednesday if you were already looking ahead to the game against the packers on sunday dalton johnson has a great piece on nbc sports bay area dot com about kyle shanahan and.

"And try and make a decision and leave it up to jalen hurts but at the same time really slimmed down the play calling and the risk taking. I don't think you'll see devante. Smith down the field twenty twenty five yards consistently in the first half just to try and take advantage of man down for the niners secondary. I think what you'll see is getting the ball out super fast or running design runs for hurts or getting into the hands of mile sanders but the rpo. I think allows everything in front of jalen hurts for him to control but also get the ball out fast two mile sanders can gay. Well out of the backfield got her. Zach ertz is another guy to keep an eye on and look devante. Smith is going to catch the ball in space like jalen rigor in space quiz watkins in space these quick screens get the ball out fast. That's how i think they're going to attack at first and then it's a matter of what opens up and we'll see me. They may not be able to adjust and the niners may be able to keep everything in front of them. Make tackles not allow big plays off of quick screens. But yeah i think to your point. Serianni comes out and says we're going to we're not going to force jalen hurts to make deep place and take big risks and at the same time he still has control over the offense with the arpaio's and that probably keeps him out of the crosshairs of deferred and nick. Bo says well a little bit. If he's getting versus ball early if my worry and really a lot of niner fans always worry with jimmy. garoppolo get down multiple scores. That's when you really clench up a little bit because you're nervous that he's not going to be able to put the game on his shoulders and lead the team back. I'm going to flip it around on you. If the niners up ten on jalen hurts. Are you confident that they can still fight back in the ball game or do you not know yet. Because he hasn't played so much. I think jalen hurt well okay. He hasn't played enough for me to say that he has the super long resume but he's thrown for over three hundred yards of bunch especially in whatever you would call that offense that he played in last year after carson wentz at doug peterson just singlehandedly. The two of them together destroyed it but he has the ability to throw and it's not just from college. We've seen it in the pros now in the nfl last year. Nick johnny is not going to ask him stats to throw the ball fifty sixty times in a game but what i think is underutilized and really. It just didn't happen much at all last week. Because the falcons in putting pressure on him but even in small amounts of pressure that he saw he was able to throw the ball and get the ball out. So i'm not concerned if jalen hurts if it turns into. Hey jalen hurts has to get you three. Twenty off of forty five completions. It's not ideal. And i don't set out hoping for that but i don't think the games lost by any means and he's got an arm. It's just. I don't want him doing that. And play after play after play. I'd rather it be circumstantial. Like hey if you don't start opening up the field right now with eight minutes to go in the third down fourteen points. This game's over. Yeah so. I'm curious to get an outside perspective on this. Let's say jimmy. Garoppolo is in the game he gets subbed out for trae lance you as a fan of the other team. Are you scared with that proposition. Are you excited. Because the rookies ending. He's probably gonna run anyways. No as a better. And i'd never claimed that i do this well or even properly or accurately and somebody plays. Dcfs all these other things that we do to add on to just enjoying the game. Variants is huge right. The unknown is huge from poker to fantasy sports. It doesn't matter so the fact that and look jalen hurts took full advantage of that last year for a little bit in this year as well. I mean it's like the atlanta falcons had no idea jalen hurts. Even you look at the result of that game week one so to answer your question. I would much rather have what the defense already knows. Which is jimmy garoppolo. And it doesn't even need to be full. Jimmy gimmes as much as it is. Just you have what you already know. Trae lance can move trae. Leads can throw the football. There are probably things that trae lance has done in a practice or even a preseason game that the eagles aren't even thinking about are looking at its that unknown that. I don't wanna take a shot on on a football game like this is a game where one bad bounce or one look over to your right when you should be looking straight kills you. And that's the difference of winning or losing a game. So no no emphatically. I would much rather have jimmy garoppolo right now. Just because of the known versus the unknown. My one worry not one but my main worry when the niners are on offense. Is i worry about mike mcglinchey and i worry about that. Eagles defensive line put pressure on garoppolo because the eagles did it last year against the niners. They had fifteen quarterback hits now. I know jimmy didn't play in that game but it's basically the same offensive lineman. Do you think philly's going to be able to put pressure on garoppolo which he basically saw none of last week. Yeah we've gone from jim schwartz. Who just did not have blitz in his vocabulary to jonathan gannon. Who called a masterpiece last week. Again against the falcons who have skilled guys on offense especially when they're down and you know what's going to happen. I would anticipate a lot of blitzing and look i. It's going to be. You're going to get beat on single coverage a lot and it might be i you get. It might be samuel. It's probably going to be george biddle. Even though he won't be single covered. That's that's the risk you take. But i think jonathan gannon realizes and look. I agree with it. I'd much rather take my chances being up. A man on a pass rush then. Have two guys covered. George biddle which is still impossible or have one on one coverage with brandon and that being nelson darius slay. I much rather take my chances adding an extra pass. Rusher as opposed to having to deal with just straight up or even double coverage on kennel into a lesser extent samuel. So who scares me more with the ball in their hands. Deebo samuel or george kendall is a close all see. It's different right. So i think if you just look at volume and you just look at a guy when it's all said and done who's just you look over and you think how did that even happen. How did this guy at fifteen catches for a buck. Thirty two touchdowns. That's george killer like he should be able to do a lot against this eagles defence especially in that middle of the field. So he's the one that i would look at as the biggest threat across the board also because of just how versatile he is. And how just insanely innovative. Your head coach is to have the same play. Look fifty different ways. Every single game like it's amazing nobody. I seen anybody do something like that. So kettle is the guy. But here's the thing. And i thought this was going to be rustled gauge. Last week didn't even show up but they're going to be moments in this game where it's either i. You were samuel. Where it's going to be one on one coverage there's going to be nobody behind him and all it will take a half step. Deebo samuel can kill you and that sense so samuels the guy where it's like. Hey just keep an eye on him. The entire time no matter what whereas kills like do you can have six sets of eyes on him and it won't matter he's going to kill you. Give me the temperature of philly a little bit in terms of just what kind of environment..

"Here on the gold standard podcast and now it's time to go into enemy territory a little bit. Get a little scouting report on the philadelphia eagles from our egos community bleeding green nation. Avon shandor. here what's up avon gentlemen. I am thrilled and honored to be here. And hopefully you can talk me through some concerns that i have about my team at least this weekend. I feel like we're both nervous. I'm nervous as a forty niner fan. Because i'm worried that jalen hurts is going to be running around out there making plays. I don't know why you're why are you nervous. Well i think it's the obvious of trying not to get ahead of yourself. After one game and to be honest the biggest problem that i have as far as week one to week two is the difference in clearly opponent. The atlanta falcons. I didn't think they'd be fighting for the worst team in the nfl title. They could be especially if that offense as we saw in the second half not put up any points at all. If that offense can't even put up garbage points. Then what are they. They're horrific so. My concern is not that the eagles are smelling themselves and filmed themselves. Come into this game in a just getting boat race before we know it. My concern is that they're just going up against one of the best teams especially in the trenches that they'll face all year and this is a really one eighty from dominating a football team to having to go out there and play super sharp just to stay in a football game. I don't care that. This games in philadelphia san fran comes to town with an offensive line. A defensive line atlanta had none of that. So what is your biggest concern. Is it the niners defensive line or is it their offensive line being able to push the ball and make the run game work. now it's the latter lebanon. I think for me. It's more so about just the eagles defensive line again. Last week is an anomaly from what we saw just as a whole last year especially when it comes to running the football and i know hey row. He mustered his out but the reality is that it doesn't matter at this point. We know that kyle shanahan is gonna come with some sort of scheme to take advantage of run defense especially a run line that gave up. They were in the bottom third tier last as far as giving up rushing yards. So that's my concern is is this d. line that looked all world against atlanta. And mike davis going to be pushed around by a really legit offensive line. And then you know you guys both know this if you can move the ball on the ground consistently if you could dominate on the ground consistently. That's going open up so much in the air and it doesn't have to be fifty yards down the field that deebo samuel it could be just consistently peppering that middle short field. So that's the concern is the offensive line. Having its way with the eagles defensive line because if that's the case there's no way jalen hurts and company can compensate for that that's clearly the path to victory for the niners. Run the ball run it effectively. Then use garoppolo on the play. Action passes and sort of the misdirection. Plays the jimmy. Gimmes as i like to call them. We worked well for the forty niners week one. What is the path victory for the eagles. Well i think it's doing exactly what they did against atlanta with the assumption. That the falcons the forty niners defense will do something similar. To what the falcons d would is. Just keep everything in front of them. Man if i'm the falcons or pardon me i keep getting this. If i'm the niners right. And i see tape of what everything that went. Wrong for the falcons on defense last week. I'm thinking to myself this scheme was there. They just stink like everything was there. You wanna keep jalen hurts in front of you wanna keep mile sanders in front of devante. Smith you wanna keep speed is in front of you and trust that you have. People that can make tackles at landed on of anybody that can make tackles. I think every single time philadelphia eagles ball-carrier had the full in their hand including jalen hurts. They broke at least the first tackle. And i don't even think being hyperbolic in that. It was just ridiculous. How bad they were so the key to success. I think is to lull is to try and just do what you can do and take what the forty niners defense is giving you and knowing and this is difficult especially for first year head coach guys but knowing when that moment is to be ahead of the curve knowing when you can catch that niners defense a little soft and maybe it's jalen rigor maybe at devante smith. Heck maybe stalla scattered deep middle. But that's when you catch on a really big players strike like that blowing into a couple of times throughout the game and knowing and picking your spot that's the key to success because jalen hurts is going to run with. It doesn't matter how good the offense of line of poorly the offensive line is playing. He's going to be out there so that's a given so let me ask you. How would you attack starting now. Because there's two different avenues. You have the ability to go against the niners. Db's which their quarterbacks are in shambles right now with gone and moseley didn't practice today him is expected to probably play but he's probably not going to be one hundred percent. You're gonna have a lot of experience on the other side. So one avenue is to go and attack them right away passing but then you have the other avenue that the niners were not very good against the run and you could start out running to give your team a little bit of time of possession to try to tire out defensive line so i think to your point what nick serianni and company are going to do is rely heavy on.

"Turn wasn't a first sean traffic and stuff so that might not be as obvious with the towel level and stuff but he's been helpful ballplayers since he's been here I I spend a little inconsistent because he's been in and out with his injury and stuff and that's what we felt. Was the best chance for us. this week. last week i got a chance to get that spot up and i rotate as much turns. It doesn't make that very easy So these three days are important in practice. I we balance out our game plan how he balanced routes and I'm happy with. There's nothing against site who come to salsa happy with trend to and i think both of them can continue to get better. This is my problem with everything. Kyle is saying about this levin. It doesn't mesh with reality. He keeps talking about it. As if it's just a question of the injury but when you see what he actually did in the game he let i return punts and if a guy's dealing with an injury and just had a setback. kyle just said in that clip. Why are you giving him additional duty. Why are you playing him. Almost as much as trent sherefield. it doesn't mesh with reality. And it bugs me. That kyle thinks that. We can't see that. Like when i when i saw i wasn't wasn't starting i thought okay. Maybe he's more injured than leading on. But then like you said. He returned that punt so that goes out the window. It's not that he was more injured than previously reported. So the issue becomes what happened and there really hasn't been a logical answer. Kyle say well. He's just you know he's missed some time okay he. He was missing time anyways. He missed time last year as a rookie and still got to be a starter. The moment he was healthy because guess what he was clearly. The best receiver win healthy. He had a really really good rookie year and in preseason. We've only seen him be exactly what we thought he would be. He was the number one receiver on the depth chart all preseason. He was treated like the number one in every practice to report. We saw every practice board we saw. I was having a really good practice. There are multiple times that he had a long touchdown reception. Though is talked about in the media. So what is going on that. He suddenly lost his starting gig and that he's got a split time and to me. I have to tie it back to sermon as well sermon. Went from number two on the depth chart. Nobody thought he was going to be an active to suddenly being inactive out of the blue to me something happened with those two whether they missed a curfew or something because it doesn't add up to what we saw in preseason in practice reports or anything else this is what i don't understand though eleven kyle shanahan i feel like is making this a bigger issue than it needs to be right. Why didn't you get up in front of the media and say you know what trends outplayed you. That's why he started. Then it's like okay. Then it goes to the focus goes on. Hey he's not working hard enough in practice. He's obviously not doing what he needs to do. Instead of this whole like well. He's injured but he also needs to play better and also trends really good like just say he got played. Same thing with sermon right. He broke team rules. He missed curfew done. Then you're like then people are crediting kyle for not bending to players that are not following the rules right but instead he doesn't do that he just makes it. Seem like trent trae sermons not any good. Which by the way is an indictment of kyle shanahan and john lynch because you move pick this guy in the third round and you traded up to do it and they traded up to draft to in the first round so that could be an indictment to if he's not starting your to do to a i believe sherefield was undrafted a handful of years ago. I can't remember if a late round pick or not. But he was a free agent ad and not a big free agent ad and yet i can't beat amount that that's an indictment to take him in the first round. If that's what's really going on. But i don't think it is. Because we saw in. preseason he had issues with drops. There's no denying that and that's why he didn't start say it. It's not a big to say. Hey this guy who had very public drops in preseason games is on starting because he's dropping balls in practice. That's not a big deal to say so if that's the case then that's legit but it doesn't seem to be the case and in preseason what did we see him wide open and trae lance is very first pass attempt. You know the one that he dropped on the sideline. We saw him be wide open when jimmy overthrew him and i do put that one a little bit more on jimmy than iu. Because jimmy literally made you jump to his full extension and barely fingertips on it but he was open down the field and he was opened a blame for that interception which is like what like that so that just goes to show like. I feel like maybe not practicing hard. Maybe it's not blocking. I don't know. But something is fishy there right. And that's what it is. Something is fishy. We don't know what it is mainly because kyle won't volunteer the info in the media won't press them on it. Let's be honest here. His what he has said about about how you would not fly in new york would not fly in philly would not fly and most nfl cities in my opinion because they would keep asking follow up questions until they paint him in the corner. It's pretty easy to paint him in the corner by continuing to ask him and narrowing the field. It's literally something you're taught when you go to school for this. I went to school for it. You're taught to if you don't get the answer that you want at first and you think that they're just dodging the question asked again in a different way and keep narrowing down the field to where they get stuck in a corner and they got to tell the truth. And nobody's doing. It's it's extremely frustrating. Because it's so obvious that he's trying to talk audible sides of his mouth. That's the part that's annoying and anybody that brings it up like i bring it up. I've written about it on niners nation and people are like. Oh you're too negative. You're making something out of a controversy out of something that's not there. You just go on for clicks. it's like this is. It's obvious here like you could put your head in the sand if you don't want to believe it but you can't tell me that it's all about his hamstring when you're throwing them out there for return duty like that's just those things do not make sense it. Both of those two things cannot be true at the same time so one of them has to be not true and all. We're trying to do figure out which one is which luckily eleven trench sheffield's actually played pretty well so i don't think it's hurt the offense too much we don't know i mean we don't know what i would have done. If he was truly involved in the offense and the thing. I find really interesting and to me more damning than anything else in terms of showing the truth of the matter. I you can sure field ended up running about the same number of place as he had one more play right but i didn't get a single target. Now we're either gonna consider kyle shanahan ingenious offensively or we're going to try to be a hypocrite here. Because i've seen some fans try to say..

Raheem Mostert Injury Update: 49ers Running Back Exits vs. Lions With Knee Injury
"He most hurt left the game early for the forty niners as well. It's really just so unfortunate remo serves been plagued by injuries For for years now and and yesterday was no different left. The game early second quarter. I believe only had to What was it to to carries ers only two fantasy points for you. All we knew was that it was his knee kyle. Shanahan said after the game that he was going to get his knee further evaluated when they got to greenbrier. Those who aren't aware forty niners have a game in east coast. They are going to greenbrier and west. Virginia staying there this week for practice so he was expected to give further evaluated when they got there last night. Once we have those results will share them. Shanahan did say he did not He heard that they did not believe it was an acl so they thought that was encouraging but nothing further specific as of yet

"Year. How come no love janas yana. Because there's questions of should even been mvp and some new. I and i'll tell you why because steve. Nash wasn't the best player as kobe. I'm not real doodads. Because that's a whole different conversation. I want to do this now. Love that conversation. i'm not trying to avoid. it is just. It's not because they're canadian. Is that because you're not from here is just because somebody from here. We got bored of giving them the trophy a little bit. Let's say this here's your conversation. I think you're trying to have. You're trying to have american power conversation. Like americans don't really want to export power and give it to someone else because then that will make us look bad or lesser day. Now you know this maybe not thought of this. When it comes to real power people think power is when you can control yours. That's pretty much for most people ago. Ambition but the truest. The biggest power is in delegation. The biggest power is when you control others. When i'll even know dog. Are you going to do what i want you to do. Because i got the power now in your circle of influence to control that that's great. That's a high degree of power but there's a degree greater control the people that you don't even have anything in connection which so i think america's caucus that we're having a lot of conversations about we'll be fully flex if we control others if we could be facing. Mba you still working for us. Globalise bredon the message negate. Here's why i say the best for hope. Here's why can't be the facing mba. Because america does not respect the slow-burn we respect a who that think about who that versus a slow burn. I'm a late bloomer. So it took me a long time to get my proper. Do lot of labor. I've talked to tony romo about this before. and he. I saw him witness this. He was a late bloomer in terms of his. Nfl prowess this look at these guys on this list is tell me if he's a late bloomer not ziya who that from hello who would it be microwave refrigerator out there bouncing luca we our eyes on. Who'd been processed fourteen dannatt steph. Now that's a slow bird. that's why he gets robbed. I you make a point. The brown who right westbrook sober so bar backup. Ucla college makes maslova. Yeah because we kept noticing. That's why lonzo who that. Because his daddy his shoe one year bain. Now we like where he was he doing. He's not living up to it. This is how difficult terrain is to become into facing nba now. Kobe who that Sixteen seventeen years old. You hear about the everybody who named check. Everybody who we really name without another name has always been a who that got already slow burners. They struggle even steph curry. Who's the greatest of all slow. Burn us good coming up. I told you. I say the best for less. I hope reports say aaron rodgers turned down a huge offer from the packers will tell you what that says about the rain and mvp first game six is tonight. But is there more pressure on jaanus or chris. Paul will answer that nets on. Speak for yourself name a slow burner death to face getting recommendations from your friends for that perfect diet might be a big waste of time to real answer is already within you your genes. What are the best foods based on your dna foods. Have the nutrients that you need. How quickly metabolize caffeine and alcohol. Don't gas use the code. Speak for yourself. A twenty dollars. Off gino pallet. Dna kit find out how to eat for your genes but butts can win it all tonight if they get one more win at home. Now jaanus chris. Paul are both going for the first nba. Titles jonah's leading all players in the series scoring just over thirty points a game on the other side. Cpi three sons of trying to avoid losing four straight games during nba analysts broussard's but sell. There's more pressure on on chris paul tonight. Oh there's more pressure on yannis I think there's more at stake for jaanus. And i'm saying that because and chris paul's case he is he is now. I think there's a bump. I think there could be a bonus to chris paul's legacy if he were to pull this series out and win a championship. Yes but he's still in the conversation. The top five point guard all time would eighteen and nine average so anything else will be gravy to chris paul. Obviously he wants that gravy to go on his resume but when you talk about janas resume this is the guy who doesn't get his. Do we just spit twenty minutes. It felt like talking about the projection of janas. Potentially being the face nba. Here's the problem for gift face it. Nba spn ambitious. How about him. Just get his do as the two time. Mvp and a former player. Here he still doesn't get the same reverence respect. You deserve for a guy who has that on his resume. So that's why this championship is so important. Because i talked to a miniature champions as you have christmas as you have the one thing they all say in common is. They can't take that away from you like everything else. We just had my argument about former mvp. And i'm gonna say it. Steve nass people over here questioning yo. Mvp's big dublin. I got your back because my wife canadian too. So i know that's how it goes every other war. We argued to the barbershop. Y'all do at least need to go but all y'all get there and just stay up all times of the day and night arguing about who got this. Who got that now. We try to argue championships. But the problem is you can't take that away that ring. Is that thing so in this conversation. Janas needs it more chris paul because this is going to ask something to his legacy that's avoid. That is not necessarily the same for chris paul so i think the pressure is on chris paul tonight and it's because of something you've now drilled into my head. Oh equity chris. Paul has no finals equity. Bruce already has no finals equity right now sale. Chris paul's finals balances sitting at zero. If he has a bad finals game tonight we'll look at them like man. He had a terrible series yet. Fifteen turnovers over the course of three games. He had a ten point game. His stats diminished over the course of four consecutive games until he had a decent gained five chris. Paul's finals equity is terrible. But y- honest is finals equities through the roof. Right now. he gave you to forty point games. He gave you a thirty point. Game gave you a twenty six and fourteen point game played off a hyperextended knee and started offering twenty and seventeen point game. Janas could literally go out. Have five five and five and we'd be like still having a great series. Chris paul let him have anything. Short of twenty points let them have upwards of three turnovers let them have less than tennessee's we look at chris. Paul like this is what you had to give us in the finals. Janas is playing to a degree with house money right now to forty point games back to back. He didn't do that all regular season playing with the hyperextended knee. Already proven his toughness. Plus this won a game on the road and leading the series. He playing with house money. When you playing with house money you can afford to lose a hand or two. Because you'll still be up. But if you chris paul. He didn't got beat down his socks. They already took all this bread now. We took his watch off at the tables like look. Just hold it as collateral chris. Paul got more to prove tonight.

"I would love to know of like what offers have. Kansas city gotten for patrick mahomes. You know something that god. Hey while offer you the number one. Pick for patrick mahomes try. Yeah like there are conversations that take place all the time like that that we never ever know about and i wish we could 'cause i i always find all that stuff fascinating. I'm going to bring it full circle here. Ready to be great teams in. Gm's constantly kicked the tires on trade offers see tied in the whole truck talk and trading in vehicles from the beginning of the show at sea mattered. There you go. That's all your professional. Let me just tell you the talent speaking of trae lance levin. I'm getting worried and i've been worried. Michelle maggio has been trying to. Reassure me that everything's fine with trae lance. He's going to sign his deal. And you know not to worry. I'm overreacting in my twitter. Dmz you can see multiple messages from her. Like trying to calm me down and yet. I keep seeing these names. Take off the board in the first round. Trevor lawrence scientists deal just field signed deal now. Mack jones assigned signed his deal with the patriots. As we record this. I believe the only two first round quarterbacks left unsigned zach wilson. Who was taken second and trae lance. Who's taken third. I'm scarred. From the michael crabtree. Hold out from a few years ago. Levin talk me down. I don't know this gonna talk you down but the reason i'm not overly worried about it is worst. Case scenario he holds out. That means jimmy to start the season. We still have a competent quarterback to turn to if trae lance decides to hold out. But i don't see any way in. Hell he holds out. I think. Zack wilson is more likely because zach. Wilson's job trae. Lanes has to earn the job. You're not gonna earn a job by sitting out of training camp as a rookie quarterback there's a little bit different when you know a wide receiver can run routes begin run routes. He can run routes if he's fast. He's fast they can hold out and get up to speed relatively quickly. So that would be the michael crabtree situation a quarterback if you out and training camp as a rookie year. Not starting near night. You're not starting that whole year. Probably not just the beginning. You're going to be too far behind and you probably going to piss off the coach to the point when they have a competent starter. Jimmy garoppolo he's gonna stick with them unless these forced to switch. That is the only thing that is preventing a full-blown freak out for me. Is that like. I think kyle wants to give trae lance the job. He's looking for a reason to do it. And if you're not there because you're holding out for a contract like one you're going to be behind you are going to piss off. Kyle shanahan because kyle wants guys. That are football junkie so to speak and that's not the way to go about that so i'm hoping that eventually gets done like we said we still have you know what is it like twenty four days. Something like that till the started training camp when they report on july twenty seven So there's still a lot of time to get this done. I just i'm sweating like nothing is done until it's done. That's one lesson that i've learned in life whether it's job offer whether it's any negotiation at all. Yes things should happen. They probably will happen. Nothing is done until the paperwork is signed and land still isn't sign and until he is. I'm still going to have a little bit of osita. I'm not worried because this has been. I think the niners imo with their big contract negotiations they always tend to be a little bit slower and then they come out. And everybody's happy like you know. The kid will talk. Went around for a long time before. Like oh he might all out all. This isn't going well. They're not coming to terms and then ended up getting done and plenty of time that there's other examples besides that they always seem to get the deal done. I'm not really worried. Don't only bad one in recent history. Here's michael crabtree. But recent history. That's what ten years ago. Now that's a couple of ago too. I believe so right. So i'm not really word. All right i. I feel a little bit better all at this point with the nfl rules. You know you brought up cbs with the nfl rose. There's not much trae can demand. That's why mike. Why isn't this thing done yet. Because he's too busy practicing. I if i had to put a wager on why it's not done. It's because trae. Lance doesn't care to get it done yet. He's too busy trying to get the playbook down he doesn't want to worry about the contract and all that crap and figuring she'll show up and he's got an agent right but he still has to sign it and he might be busy and say look. I'll be okay. you know. They could literally have come to terms already and trae lance is just saying you know all come down and do it at some point before training camp. I just want to get it done. Just get it done. And then i can sleep better and all right. We'll call up your buddy. Trae lands interviewed him. Say hey i can't sleep at night. Will you go sign your contract. I'll send you a bottle of ranch to put on your pizza there. We go i. I will get it done. I'll hit up trailing. Why didn't i think of that sooner. Just called trae lance and ask him all right. Let's take a break after we visit crazy town and when we come back we're going to talk about a possible number three wide receiver option for the forty niners and joe staley doing an awful lot of talking about the super bowl and could he possibly end up on the coaching staff. "Warned this is going to be a bloated slow podcast. We're going to circle around our points instead of getting directly to it because we don't know that we're six foot four and like two hundred and fifty pounds. Yeah pretty much. That sounds up brandon. Jacobs trying to be like levian bell they. Nfl throwback twitter account. I think recently just posted like a bunch of his highlights and even on his highlights. His first move is always lateral. It's never just hitting the whole heart. He always goes like bounces. It left or right and then gets going up field. I had to be maddening as a giant fan can only imagine what that guy had a ton of potential. I think he could have been a really good runner. I mean physically. He he was a bit of a freak but aim was somebody that thought he was a ballerina instead of a like. You said massive running back some mountain but oh well all right. That's enough about a former giant running back who played one year with the niners. We got a lot to get to on this edition. Actually weird things started happening like right before we recorded the flying. Podcast with peter. Schrager and sean mcveigh came out and their guests. This week was kyle shanahan so i was feverishly trying to squeeze that in so that we could talk about it before we this show joe staley's men doing quite a bit of talking about the super bowl and his possible future on the forty niners coaching staff. We're gonna get to that As kashan hanan. Kat kashan in kyle posey and akash on of often talked about yesterday. Mikio harry wants out. That was someone. The forty niners had some interesting. So we're gonna get to that. And also i tweeted something earlier this week. That sort of blew up. And i people were getting mad at me and reacting and so we'll get into all of that as well. I haven't how're you doing. I know you're in vehicle negotiations which is always very stressful. I don't really find it stressful. Imagine that mean being even killed and not emotional. Negotiations are over. I decided to come home because my wife was a co owner of the truck trading in so she had to sign but we have a one year old and she had an appointment at noon so she wasn't able to come down to the dealership to sign so i'd brought the documents back but the negotiating is over and this is how emotional. I was granted. I'm coming off a night shift. And i haven't slept because i went to the dealership when they opened but i went upstairs to sign the paperwork and the finance person said. Are you excited and said no. I'm not really that type of guy. I would love to have you with me when i was buying a car. You are like the perfect person that i would bring with me. And i wouldn't answer any questions directly from the dealer. I would always defer them to you. Speak to my associate to my representative. Mr black will take care of you now. You want my brother really. 'cause it's kind of funny because in regular day life. My brother is diplomatic. He's not as abrasive. And i'm definitely like somebody like if i don't like what you're doing you're gonna know i'm gonna speak up but when it comes to negotiating like that like a car or anything like that. My brother is a complete ass. Why just get up and walk in. And whereas i'm more like i wouldn't say diplomatic but i'm nicer and i don't wanna sit and argue with somebody like screw that just get down to the bare bones of it. If i don't like it i'll walk but like my brother literally. When he bought a brand new car he went to a couple of dealerships. Argue back and forth got them way talked down but wanted a. He was buying new. He wanted a vehicle. That was on another dealership lot. And he's he told the last dealership. Like i'm gonna go by that vehicle i liked it. I liked their options more and he said how about this will buy that vehicle from them and take three hundred dollars off when he said okay. So you literally had one dealership buy another dealerships brand new vehicle and sell it to him cheaper. I don't know much about buying a car. That's that's an impressive job. I have heard that. Like if you're let's say you're going to buy like a subaru that if you wanna get the dealership to like work with you a little bit. You're they're not in competition with like toyota and honda they're actually more in competition with other subaru dealerships. And that's sort of how you play them against each other to get what you want. Yeah i mean the basic principle is you gotta be willing to stand up in walkout not all dealerships are going to deal with you so you cannot go in with the mindset. That's the vehicle. I want because then you're gonna do whatever they want. You got to be willing to stand up and walk. Walked away like i've been to five different dealerships with trade ins. And i n one dealer forty eight years experienced babo blind came to my offer. Any offer you know a decent amount. But i i wanted a little bit more from my trade-in and i said no and he literally at all mad at me like has ridiculous like you know like a year ago. That was three thousand dollars less while blondes. Like yeah and i said the times are the times though and i'm going to maximize my value and i got up and walked away because he pissed me off like don't blow up in my face next week on life advice about refinancing your whole all right. Let's get to some football here. I was listening to that flying coach. Podcast with kyle shanahan. There was a bunch of good stuff in there to be honest with everybody. I haven't even finished it yet because it's almost two hours long. It's pretty cool. Because kyle seems kinda relaxed because he's talking with. Sean mcveigh who's a good friend. And schrager does a good job with just kind of getting out of the way and letting them go. The biggest thing that jumped out to me was that clearly. Kyle thought that they were in on stafford and that they were close on stafford which it was kinda crazy in the show because sean mcvay just flat out brings it up out of nowhere and just says hey kyle. What did you think about this. Wouldn't you you like to rub your friends. Noses it when you get through so shanahan basically said like that. They were in the negotiations and he was of told at one point. Like hey chill out for the rest of the night. Like nothing's going to happen. You know you can go out to eat or whatever will pick it up tomorrow and that'll be fine so he was like all right good and then he got a call a little bit later from somebody that was like look. If you want stafford you gotta get a hold of him now. And he didn't and they couldn't and the deal was done. But you could just tell by the way kyle was talking about it that it was a punch in the gut yet. It's actually kind of funny. I don't know if the portion you listen to highlighted this But i saw peter. Schrager was on pat mcafee show and he kind of spelled it out a little bit better so the situation was.

"Kyle was great. I i gotta tell you. I know that a co host here but i have sat sat back and listen to the to you guys. Talk such interesting Shared experiences. But also i think it was a sign of kyle shanahan. We haven't heard before. I thought he was vulnerable. I thought he was honest. And i thought the way he was talking about the twenty eight to three super bowl. I don't think he's ever spoken on the record about that stuff. Yeah i think that's that's a perspective that you have from work. He's always been so real so authentic. I think that's what you hear. Like i talked about with him. You know that the players that those guys that really know what it looks like what. It should look like from a coach. That's going to be demanding. But he's gonna keep it real with you and man. Is he a smart football. Mind that the game just makes sense to them. So much of what i learned about how you see the game. The right way was through his dad and through him and Like we talked about it's As a competitor you love going against the best in and being able to compete against one another in the teams that they've established with san fran but it will be a lot easier if We didn't have to see each other twice a year and we could share a little bit more intricate details on our scheme. And what we're doing 'cause that's been one of those things with one of your buddies that you wish you could be a little bit more transparent about has it put a strain on the relationship at all. I mean you guys obviously had coached together but then you both get these head coaching jobs. And you're against each other as you know archrivals and you guys see mike. You're great but i can only imagine how upsetting it is that you can't reveal offensive secrets or kind of bounce ideas off him. Yeah there's a mutual respect but but it does limit some of the dialogue that you can have just because like if he was if he was coaching in the afc. You know you're saying all right. Well these are champagne problems if we see each other especially dependent upon where it fits in the schedule. Where if you're seeing each other in the super bowl there's enough stuff that goes by but It limits some of the things that you like to talk about. I mean the the best part about it for. I think both of us that you could feel in that interview peter. We love football. you know. it's not worth to us when we're when we're having a few drinks relaxing in the summer or we get a little bit of a break before we get this grind going and training camp here shortly. We're talking about football or families in those are the things that we love and and that limits some of those conversations but you can still keep it generic enough where we can have some fun. Hey am i throwing that out there intentionally. Are we not but course up. He was great and Some good some good laughs on some great memories we had working together as well he really was and that was just candy for forty niners in rams fans who They've been asking for kyle. As a guest. I get more tweets about people asking for kyle to be a guest. And i think he delivered craig rain here so you get a lot of niners fans hit you up on that people wanted to hear you and kyle and i think more than delivered loyal fan base than two huge fan bases and craig craig holbeck. Here's our producers the producers since the start flying coach. He's one of the the three the three big voices on this podcast. Craig what was your takeaway from the sean and kyle conversation which is so hotly anticipated from a lot of these fans. That are listening to the podcast. Yeah i just wanted. I wanted a video of youtube sitting in an office of the white board. And you guys are just going for seriously you guys. Just grab a bunch of red bulls and just get after it for five hours. That's what i wanna watch after listening to that. Yes we We've had a lot of fun. Talking football with red bulls may or may not have been sprinkled with vodka. And out of it as well but now he's he's great i. I'm glad that he took the time to do that. But he's been awesome. Nothing but good things that came out of today's conversation and appreciative of him. Giving us his time. Yeah you only ruined his Vacation in kabul. But like. I almost want to tell them. Dude it was a cab ride away like get on your getting. Get an uber and get to that hotel and try to interrupt. I mean it was almost like the guy watching the love of his life getting married and he just sat and watched his hands on sitting on his hand. Sean i mean come on worked out the way it was supposed to work out there. We go Craig let's get to the reader reader the listener reader. See that shows your versatility. You are a writer but also a connoisseur of podcast and the television game you. My friend have great. Rains yourself peter. Just when you think i'm gonna pass the ball. Go to our. He most forty five times and get eighteen rushing touchdowns craig. Let's go to the emails in the voicemail. What are we got this week all right. This is marcus in pacific beach. This question is for. Both of you. Sean. you are obviously incredibly busy during. Oj's training camp as well as the regular season. The nfl has become a twenty four. Seven news cycle filled with stories. Interesting tidbits as peter can attest to. So how do you get your news. How do you consume everything. That's going on around the game while doing your job. Are you reading articles. Somebody sending you news in tweets. Same question for peter. Yeah so great question. And i think what i've learned over the last couple of years. You know when it's good you don't have to worry about Filtering through those articles. But if you do something bad you know you don't want to be exposed but you do need to be on a need to know basis in terms of your dealings with the media and so i i like to look at more than national outlets..

Fans of the steelers. Want mike tomlin but the name that has come up the most and is in our mentions the most frequently is kyle shanahan. Niners fans are screaming at me on twitter. Get kyle shanahan on already. Well guess what we got. Kyle shanahan on already and he delivers through my favorite hour. We've done no further ado. Ladies and gentlemen the kyle shanahan our of flying coach nother amazing guests here on the flying coach. Podcast maybe the most anticipated episode of the entire summer session the tweets that we get asking. When we're getting this guy. On that. I just have to be quiet and not respond to because i know everyone wants to hear the dynamic between my co host. Sean mcveigh and our guest today. Sean who do we have on as the guest for this episode. Head coach of the san francisco. Forty niners kyle shanahan former boss of mine who he was hard on me but you know what i got. A lot better loved work. What kyle and really. He's at a huge influence. On the way that i see the game and and kyle is another added name to a really good guest list. But he's special. I appreciate you taking the time. Kyle i appreciate a man. You're already looking too much media to me but you look way comfortable with your headset microphone. I can't believe your hair is still perfect with headset on. Gotta blow dry that. But i do use probably too much gel but you know what. Consistency is the truest measurement of performance. As we like to say. I'm consistently thrown about half of my gel in my hair. And i'm going through a lot of bottles every week. It's good kyle. Let's go back in time. I mean you were the offensive coordinator. Your father is the head coach of the washington football team whose name some indifferent than we'll say the football team for now and they hire this precocious twenty-something quality control coach who he hired he. Okay they he hired. What did you know of sean. And or those first years like when he came in as a as a young assistant entering the league they were awesome. I mean we all went out to washington together. It was cool. going there. It goes was the first time. I got to work with my dad. And so we go in and it was just my dad. And i have i got to interview a bunch of coaches and as he put together a staff and he told me a lot about sean who had been recommended from bruce because he had been with john for the previous couple years. And actually sean you took over from me right. I did well nate. Hackett the at nate hack it. And then i came in after that. So yeah so we both have the same job to start out intel. While you're saying yeah in tampa. So so i understood how bruce newman what he had done for tampa those two years as i was my exact job also and then john guy let go of tampa strip them so i had an idea of his experience goes working for john. Gruden's wanna macon's as like as good as anything you can have as a young coach getting into the sleek but i knew experience and so Bruce sold him to my dad and my dad was telling me all else the awesome was bringing them in and he came in and even interviews. Boy wonder is hair. Look the exact same exact same He was probably a little more jack but not much always digest and he was exactly boy wonder he. We asked modesto football question about. I think slop package and stop talking for forty five minutes and just went just went ham on it. Like just killed it from every aspect and just totally. My dad was just jaw. Dropped like this is unbelievable. And i've been there on my dad. This is jon gruden one. Oh one word for this is all in. It was i. I was laughing. 'cause i've been around john so much and it was literally as twin almost doing better than himself and my dad hadn't seen it before so right when we left my dad was like we gotta get this guy i was pumped to get him and he was an awesome juicy for me till about week twelve i think and then our done embry gotta head coach job and then we moved sean. So the Enroll right after that. And which for me. Personally i mean the qc's the most important guy to me. So like i really wanna sean to stay mike. Uc he was as good as it gets as at it. And then you go to the tight end role and yeah. He was unbelievable. Tight ends. But i miss out on having my quality control and then at the end of the year we are. We interviewed other tightening coaches and stuff for. I don't know a reason I know jay gruden was trying to bring shawna and he has his quarterback coach coordinator right away. And i don't know how the league worked much since i didn't even know you could block on. I'll just like damn we can't do that. And my dad blocked them. Jay gruden takes me like what. What the half man like like. I'm just a coordinator. I didn't block. And then fortunately my dad and get another job deserved in four years together sean. What were the duties of a quality control coach in the people at home listening. What is that so basically..

"Bond. So here on the show Chris out, the Jets do I think they did a good job overall, based on how they Built around Zach Wilson, and we know that that's vital to build around your young quarterback Elijah Very Tucker. I think that trade up for a guard was a little costly, but I think Their GM Jo Douglas understands and just witnessed what happened to Sam Donald that they never really built around him. The skill position talent wasn't great. The offensive line was pretty porous that probably precipitated that trade up to get an offensive lineman who is a very good prospects. Elijah Moore, the wide receiver, audible mess at 34. Overall, a lot of people had him as a first round pick to get him at the top of the second. Then Michael Carter, another North Carolina skill position player, Um, in the fourth round, I think his past catching ability and how good he is in space. He will be a favorite target for Zach Welles and unchecked downs on screen. Those high percentage Throws that are very important for a young quarterback to just complete a pass and live to see another down early in his career s O for a team that needed offense line help needed better skill position talent, younger, skill position. Talent to go. Offense offense offense offense with their first four picks, I think was a very smart for this Jets organization. That, too, is trying to find its first real quarterback in a very long time. Mr Bazil. Let's say that that on the NFL draft was part hunger games, and whoever had the worst draft was just was in mortal danger. Right was in big trouble. Who would be fearing for their lives today who had the worst draft the San Francisco 40 Niners? I did not like what they did beyond it, going trade lands over Mack Jones and number three over. I think that was the correct decision. But after that, I don't think I mean talking about building around your young quarterback. They pick Aaron Bank. The guard out of Notre Dame at 48 overall, and what's interesting about this election? Why didn't like it? Aaron Banks is a power blocker. He's not great on the move. He's not very mobile, and we know that Kyle Shanahan Uses those stretch runs and likes mobile. Agile offensive lineman. That's not just what Aaron banks is on. We also know that Kyle Shanahan Can get the most out of undrafted running backs late round picks. They picked Trey sermon in the third round and then pick another running back in the sixth round. When they have Raheem Mostert. They got good production out of Jeff Wilson. I was surprised that they used Who picks on a running back in this draft class, and then even another offensive lineman Jalen Moore that they picked in the fifth round similar player to Aaron Banks. He is a phone booth type of guy that's gonna win in man to man situations and is not great getting laterally down the line of scrimmage for those Outside zone plays that are a staple in Kyle Shanahan's often so I didn't What they did, but I thought of all the teams They had the least inspiring and kind of most confusing draft class in 2021. Chris Urban Meyer is going to be such an interesting case study and a lot of things entering the National Football League talent. You go. The transition from the college game. His success in the NFL. How did How did that first draft go for them earlier on? I think it was okay. Later on. I wasn't as high on what the Jaguars did, Uh, and what you just intro that with is vital because if Urban Meyer If he goes to big if he thinks it's recruiting, and he's just getting the best players like he mentioned, that's not gonna happen in the NFL. There's not going to be as much of a disparity in the tail in every single weekend, like there was when he was in Florida and in Ohio State. His comments about Trevor Ctn after the draft that they drafted a third down back at number 25. Overall. That's troubling. I mean, ET en is a great prospect. He needs to be pretty much the feature die even if they have James Robinson there. If you're gonna pick a running back in the first round, he's got to be getting a lot of touches. Walker Little, the offensive lineman from Stanford. One of the high upside guy. We haven't seen him play since week one of the 2019 college football season. He got injured in that game and then opted out but was a big recruit looked like someone that was trending toward being a first round pick. And they do have a need there at left tackle. So if he's healthy, I think that was a great value selection at 45 overall, especially after picking Trevor Laurence. And I really liked Andre Cisco from Syracuse to get him in the third round ball. Hawking safety, had seven interceptions as a true freshman and then followed that up with five interceptions in 2019 got injured early in 2020, but has elite range. Ball hawking skills later, Luke Farrell, a tight end from Ohio State, I'm not sure if if urban my recruited him, I thought that was great. Holding it up, one getting back on and then Jalen Camp in the sixth round. Very rob, but fast wide receiver from Georgia Tech, So I like to players. That they picked early on to build their own Trevor Laurence, But I agree with you. It's really not about this draft. It's about urban Meyer, keeping his ego and check and understanding that His team is going to have to win with exes and oh's and good, scheming and good play calling. He's not gonna have a talent advantage at every position like he did in college. I'm 100% with you, Chris. Last team specific question. It is easy and sometimes fun to make fun of the Raiders and their decision making what is with the benefit of hindsight and all of the picks in What is the proper evaluation of the decision making that came out of Las Vegas over the draft? Well, this is kind of funny. You have to look at their first and the second round picks. Ella Let America And throw them around because everyone had been. I'm here at the CP for TCU depicting this around. In the second round pick that leaders picked at number seven to be wrong. Actually liked Leatherwood Asli can early second round picks or didn't hate this election that 17 Because the Raiders had a mess, exited on offense line this offseason and melted retarded man, improvident quarterback. So to say, Hey, we're not going to be able to get this guy. Between getting around to let's just pick him here. I didn't hate it from that perspective on Ben to get Trayvon married. Who, to me was the best all around. You see in this traffic? Had a position that is becoming more valuable in today's NFL. You gotta be able to cover tight end cover the slot blitz. Be a good run defender. Safeties are more valuable and to get another good one there, I think was really important. And then one other player. The highlight Malcolm Kun's as Russia for Buffalo did not get to test during their project, ferocity and greedy. Yes. Drug Pretty Miss Glass uses his hands pretty well, too. And we know that that Raiders defense has been pretty bad during the Jon Gruden air. They need more pass rushing. Help. Prepare him with safety. Add to that secondary. I actually didn't hate What the Raiders did, although they got a lot of criticism right after the 2021 draft included All right. Christian Bozzo. Appreciate your buddy I you deserve for I hope you get like four weeks of sleep. Well, that's like what follows after the draft. Thanks. Thanks for making time. All right, Bill. Thanks a lot Any time are Belle Be good Crystal vase. Oh, on the program. Appreciate his insight and his perspective, phone number 855. 2124. "Lynch. I want to know who John Lynch's preferences. And if there's a divide in the organization that there's maybe divides too strong of a word but different opinions. You know, and you're looking at who liked to clearly caution and is the Mack Jones fan. And then Maybe John Lynch's Trey Lancer, and it could be on the train off Mack Jones or John Lynch is trusting the scouts and saying of All the scouts are saying, Trey Lance, let's go with him. Talent show. And I thought this was a very smart move by him. Because if you don't have the pick, you're gonna get fired anyway. He kinda already through Kyle Shanahan under the bus, though, by saying we're gonna defer to him. So that's the case. How much pressure is Kyle Shanahan feeling and his Kyle Shanahan, letting others influence his decision here? You don't just make your decision on the own. But if you are the offensive genius, if you're the guy that calls the place if you're the head coach You had a preference with Mack Jones for a reason. Are you gonna move off your first love hack people all the time move off their first love. It is Kyle Shanahan tonight going to and they probably already not. Probably they know who they're picking. By this point. I'm even skeptical by some of the reporting they didn't know over the weekend, but everyone's been saying that Then I guess they knew by Monday or Tuesday. I've been on the record before when they made the picture had to know. And even if they just had a preference, how much really changes in a month to move off your first choice? I fully expect Mack Jones to be the picket three. Dough. It's not gonna be Justin Fields cosmic shave and said this Yeah, they did their homework on fields, but he was never really Guy, you know, I want to be careful The word in here, the other paraphrasing the decision ever came down to Justin Fields. Justin Fields never made a strong enough push in the eyes of the 40 Niners to go take him with the third overall pick. This decision is coming down to Mack Jones and Trey lands. And since Shanahan love train love Mack Jones from the get Go. I'm going to assume that Mack Jones is going to be the pick. Actress last issue one more time. That's the last time we could ask you this. Imagine if we get the notification that I boom Aaron Rodgers to the 40 Niners. This is the bet that we've had for now, about a month, $15. Get it. Mac Jones is the pick. If Justin Fields is the pick, which he's not going to be Ryan, then gets $30. Is Mack Jones getting be the pick and I'm gonna get $15. Or is it going to be trey Lance? Or maybe I roger's going the 40 Niners tonight. It's gonna be a push. Could be very chair. Lance, I'm not gonna win. You're not coming with its level in that now I feel pretty high 75%. Okay? Did you do something before the show that I don't know if no. No, It is legal, though, So maybe, But now we are getting pizzas coming up in about Oh, geez, that was great, by the way. So thank you to our our company here. Odyssey who actually sent us the gift card during the pandemic, the beginning stages of the pandemic. That was very nice. And I found the put could use to that gift card. House in an Are you going to stick with your heart? Going to go with your gut. It goes with your brain was telling you from the start, or are you gonna let others influence your decision? I still think Mack Jones is going to be the pick. I hope one day we gotta tell all interview what Kyle Shannon loves so much about Mack Jones and what he.

They both worked under kyle shanahan about the flora then works Under sean mcvay. So they have very similar offensive philosophies but that was just a game that was full of really interesting. Coaching matchups mallon floor wine. That batch up by far the packers had the better game plan. They were the better team better coach. All of this and sure aaron. Donald was not at full strength. You could tell that. He was very clearly hampered by the rib injury that he suffered during the wild card round but it was just a very impressive performance overall by aaron rodgers and certainly by matt leflore and that entire coaching staff the packers put up four hundred and eighty four yards of total offense against basically the best defense in the league. talked about aaron donald. Who's just a generational talent. Not being at full strength. But how is this packers offense. So effective saturday night. We'll everything they do. Obviously starts with aaron rodgers. Who just seem to have this innate mastery of what was coming and it kind of went viral on twitter a little bit because so many of fox's camera angles shown face on with aaron rodgers where you could see the moment that he realized what was coming that he was able to diagnose the coverage and dictate the play based on what was coming and the offensive line played really well protecting aaron rogers. He was barely touched. I'm not sure if his jersey had a single grass stain on after the game. And you know when you're not getting pressure on a quarterback and you're running the ball really well and you have davante adams who's one of the best wide receivers and football. It really wasn't even a close match up. And you know. I know a lot of people in green bay throughout packers land. Were wondering this is the best defense in football and it has to make you wonder. If that's the way that the packers aaron rodgers played against supposedly the best defense in football. What are they going to do for the rest of the

The Sixers called and said You could be within a couple hours of where your daughter goes to college and you can run a basketball team. Soul. Daryl Morey is now the president of the Philadelphia 76. John Elway. Two hours point will have the freedom to come and go as he pleases. He will not have to go through hours worth of tape in the grind of being a general manager, but to think That he is. Get going. Hands off. They just go here. Go all the way. Like that's what I just keep going back to and nobody has a good answer for this. So John Elway. So either John Elway is becoming the most Overrated president of general like the most How do I want to put this? John Elway is either Take making the president of football operations job to be a no show job. Or He wants to be able to go in and out between a I want credit and I had nothing to do with this. Something about having cake and eating it right that. So either, because if John Elway truly isn't going to show up for work Then why should he be compensated? Like do we need to get that deep into this year? Like why is it okay that he's the present? Like? I almost think that John Elway should be working. He should not relinquish his duties. President football ops. If it's a no show job, then put me in that job. I'll take that job. And you could get. I don't have to show up. I can get very little input. He's the president of football operations. He should have a saying things. And he does. Albert, You're absolutely spot on. Ah ah! From this 719. I'm a low confused. The article on your website said he was stepping down. But according to Elway quote, I made the decision to step up into an elevator roll of his head gets any bigger. He won't be able to make it through doorways..

Thirty-two NFL Awards
"Every week on this podcast given out. Nfl awards app. The week is over. This could be a bit ambitious but thirty two teams thirty two awards. Let's go we're gonna call this one the best six and ten team of all time award but the washington football team stepped up so now he renamed it already way to change the word on the fly in the moment with breaking news the best seven and nine team of all time award the washington football team now can we say that definitively it may be too early to say last year tampa atlanta both went seventy nine. Those teams didn't even make the playoffs so the early lean is that washington could be the great one of all time. But we don't know yet. Speaking of that game. The clockwork orange award goes to the new york giants because they had to watch i at one point. This season banned myself from nfc east games. I said i wouldn't watch any until the teams are over five hundred. I watch step drop sixty two instead of being super locked into washington philadelphia. And i don't feel like i miss much. I know there's a lot of controversy would get that. Maybe a little bit later but imagine having your eyeballs taped open like clockwork orange and being a member of the giants having to watch that game. Nate sub-field now. Look we can sit here and be upset about it but you could have gone seven nine and got into the playoffs. So how sorry. Can you really feel for the giants the skeletons on the zahara award. Yes some of these awards. We referenced. his some won't get boy when you do get a weird one. You're gonna go man. I get that all right. That award goes to the. Las vegas raiders. Because at the beginning it looked promising. Nice little boat trip trade. Some spices await were crashing into rocks. Not a big deal here. Some locals gathering on the beach here to help nope now. We're marching to our own death in africa so it was very pro gruden. Hey maybe this gruden guy knows what he's doing and then you're like wait. Does this actually suck again. The drought continues. The raiders have not won a playoff game. Since two thousand to the notre dame award that goes to the green bay packers great record high green. Bay's really good. They're thirteen three though the one seat but nobody outside of their own fan base is rooting for this team. Not only because of the history of hatred. Although i imagine there's way more anti notre dame stuff out there than it is anti green bay but no one trusts you. Yes you're thirteen and three but that's three. Nfc conference championship game losses in the six seasons. A couple down years. They've turned this thing around. They are the one seed. But everybody's kind of overt already before. It's even started the parent's weekend award that goes to the new orleans saints. You guys know the deal parents weekend. There's a dad he wants to stay out with you guys. And he's older he's a little beat up and you're like i don't know like we're going to go out. We can't say no. We respect him too much. It doesn't look great. Doesn't make a ton of sense on paper there's some bad stats in there. But you have to let them do it. You have to let them try and the thing is is you and your buddies like there's no way does this is going to end well. The iceman award that goes to the dallas cowboys man and dangerous. What is with this jolt. A don't let us get hot. This is insanity when this was part of the story lines throughout the cowboys broadcast. Yes you on three in a row. Cincinnati san francisco and philadelphia yay. Then you lost the giants at home. You came in eleventh in the nfc but if you were to get in look out. This is now. It's our time you were eleventh in your own conference dangerous. You had sixteen games to prove that you're only dangerous to your fan. Base is or perhaps the understanding of what the word danger beans the g. league award san francisco forty niners. They had twenty eight players. At one point on i r or another injury cova list which was most in the league. They use the most. I are slots. They lost the most games to injury in the nfl. And even with losing record my coach. kyle shanahan. i can't believe how competitive they were. All season law the dabble award. That goes to kirk cousins in the vikings bike. He's gonna win. Nah no one really cares are one in five star people already over this team so their disappointing season was so disappointing so early that it was just all of a sudden just completely off the radar even though they turn some things around there a bit in the middle of the season with dalvin cook but watching cousins dance reminded me of daboh announcing his tiktok account hickory vickery dot mouse ran up the clock coast. Sweeney's got that drill and now he's on tiktok.

Jalen Hurts inspires Eagles to victory in first NFL start
"At least for one week philadelphia. Eagles fans can feel confident with the caliber of play. They got from the quarterback position and jalen hurts leading philadelphia to the outright upset as an eight point. Underdog against the seemingly unbeatable new orleans saints. The eagles offense showed a little bit of a pulse and the saints defense was nowhere to be found in the first thirty minutes where they surrendered more than three hundred yards. It's kyle shanahan could've done his job. The eagles would have been or would be right in the thickens. Visger that divisions a mess. I mean every time you want to give them credit for making strides ford. They they pull you back in and like you said kyle shanahan and company allowing washington to get the improbable win. But i digress silly. Despite the washington win increase their playoff chances by about seven or eight percent. So there's still a fighting chance you mentioned this game and that's what it came down to is getting out to a quick start. Philadelphia thought for the first thirty minutes. Did a really good job. And they control the trenches. Which is a little shocking. Because you had this. Eagles offensive line that was was really depleted. You've lost peter's as well in that's against one of the more talented defensive front fours in the nfl. The new orleans saints miles sanders woke up and decided to contribute. You'll get the eagles offense. Ten point four yards per russian. At first half fifty percent rushing success rate for explosive runs all in the first half. Doug peterson game plan to me was was pretty good. The script resolved the playcalling was decent in. the eagles. did enough in the first half to hang on for dear life in the second. Come away with that win. And and keep themselves alive defensively. I thought before what feels like every single starter for the eagles left the game in the second half. Billy did a nice job defensively in that first. Thirty minutes stanzas. Well three point six yards per play allowed thirty three percent success rate allow tastes. Him only ran at twice in the first half. He was semi accurate throwing it. What it was just really short. Four point three yards per attempt in that first half so across the board that might have been the eagles best half football. This season they were. They were fantastic in. It was certainly against a team that had more talent. It just looked like philadelphia. Wanted it more along. The lines of scrimmages

The top waiver-wire pickups for Week 3 of fantasy football
"Tap waiver wire picked for me this week. Is going to be 40 Niners runningback Jerick. McKinnon makes sense. McKinnon is available currently in 73% of ESPN League, so widely available and with the most injury, coupled With Kevin Coleman also being gone for a couple of weeks. This seems like an opportunity for the big free agent signing for Kyle Shanahan Step up and have Ah productive week and at least for a couple of weeks. I think he's the at least for this week. I think he's definitely the best ad long term. Maybe not because most it will return. So if you're just looking for help for this week, maybe a couple of weeks. Jerick. McKinnon is your best bet this week on the planet Jets, other playing A. Who cares? The Giants there. Still, I stayed in New York and you look the Giants Steelers. The Bears have run the ball on the Giants, and they stayed in New York. They're playing the Giants, so I would think that that's they're going to try to ground and pound. This is saline advice is always from the update and grapple is positive, right? Like they think he's gonna play? Yes, Okay again, though, it's it's obviously Tuesday, so it's hard to say anything definitively. But my cannon is the top waiver wire pick up, especially If you're hurting at running back, and if you have sake one if he had most, sir, if you had McCaffrey, and now you're starting to Sergio. Look, Yorgos got to start Jamal Williams from crying out. I got Jamal waves in my story. You might be hitting your waiver wire to pick up Jack Kennedy on the can, For sure, he's gone in one of my All right. Who else? Hide Let me fire Rams running back. Donald Henderson was highly drafted. You have Malcolm Brown, who left last week's game with a finger injury, along with Who's the other Ocampa and left with a rib injury as well. So Darnell Henderson stepped in. I think I believe you had 80 total yards from scrimmage. So Donald Henderson is my second ad. He is available in 54% of leagues. 50 44. That's good Darnell game this week. Rams and Bill's about it to Owen omits to know that those of a good man, that's an exciting game. This's now I'll give you a couple of guys right here. One's more of a long term play. The other is going to be a better bet. Immediately, but probably not for the long term. Joshua Kelly, Los Angeles Chargers, he is it looks like he has stepped right into the Melvin Gordon roll from last season. Austin Heckler obviously, is the main running back that you want with the Chargers. Things were better. With Justin Herbert under center. It's undeniable. Tyrod Taylor comes back. I'm I'm not nearly as enthused, but I have a hard time believing Anthony Lynn is just going to give the ball back to Tyrod Taylor. If Justin Herbert continues to be productive, why

NFL fines three head coaches $100K each for not wearing masks on sidelines
"Up weak, too. Showcasing Las Vegas league was coming down hard on those Who haven't been following protocol. Last week, NFL sent out a strongly worded memo that said coaches had to wear masks on the sidelines and the NFL felt like there were three coaches that didn't do it this weekend. Vic Fangio, Denver Call Shanahan, San Francisco. And Pete Carroll in Seattle. It find each those head coach is $100,000 and find each of those teams $200,000 over a million dollars in fines for not wearing mess and the league might not be done after watching tonight's game, ESPN insider Adam Schefter, noting the three coaches who have been fined. Vic Fangio, Pete Carroll and Kyle Shanahan. But the league may not be done. Shafter referencing the Monday night football game, Raiders coach Jon Gruden seen wearing his face mass, like a changed rapid times during the wind. Over the Saints. After the game, Gruden telling reporters, quote I'm doing my best. I've had the virus. I'm doing my best. I'm very sensitive about it. I'm calling plays. I just want to communicate in these situations that if I get fined, I'll have to pay the fine, but I'm very sensitive. About that, and I apologize. Three coaches find on Monday as you heard hundreds $1000 each plus an additional $250,000 Breach of their team. New York Giants Confirm Saquon Barkley Tore ACL, Out For The Season
"There are terrible injuries all over the NFL yesterday alone. Nick. Bosa. From the niners Saquon Barkley from the giants both suffered torn ACL statistics show that through two weeks nfl record twice as many significant injuries as last year. It's actually at least six players suffered a torn acl including just recently Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bruce Irvin Eleven, injuries to starters in the one o'clock games alone John Do you think these injuries have something to do with the fact that there were no preseason games. Well. For example, the Rams don't play any of their starters in preseason games I think is in the spirit of your question i. think it has something to do with no camp no real camp they kind of shotgun training camp and I don't know how you could make the opposite argument that it has nothing to do with it. I wouldn't tied to preseason games what I would do it to the fact that there was very little tackling. Yes in. The game started and the other thing is I know Kyle Shanahan the niners felt like the field wasn't ready like the field I think he played in the meadowlands and he's got play there again next week because he played the jets and now he's GonNa, play the giants. Players on both teams going down. So I don't necessarily think that the facilities were one hundred percent prepared either I think again, I think the spirit of your question is the fact that they fast tracked everything and started the season. Because of Covid is that having any do with the injuries I don't know how you could say it doesn't I think it has to yeah. I mean I I completely agree I mean between training camp and preseason games where guys at least get a sense for what they get a reminder of what getting hit is like. I think they're I think they would be better off. It is an extraordinary number of injuries and none worse than Christian McCaffrey who's gone for four to six weeks and his the stalwart of my fantasy team just loyal to John Ireland how about? Yeah. I cleaned your clock thinking Matt Ryan. But. How about how about Saquon out for the year? Yeah. Entirely out for the year Bosa gone for the with a tornado. And that means that the giants I. It might be a race between the giants and the jets who the worst team football is. The whole new. York City area has to just garbage football teams because the jets are a mess and now the giants have no running game. So it's going to have it's going to have after-effects. All these

Breaking down Trent Williams' trade to the 49ers
"Trent Williams dealt from the Redskins to the forty Niners for five today in a three next year and we're breaking it down as you just heard the guys drafted by Kyle Shanahan and Trent Williams is a talented guy and if you look at the forty niner list of to do list today are coming into this traffic should say replacement for Buckner check can log the impact wide receiver who can start opposite Deebo Samuel check brand in the UK left tackle replacement for Joe Staley check Trent Williams would yes thanks I I I mean it it's it's it's it's pretty awesome I mean I I'd be it can't be that simple I mean can you just can you just go in the draft in in it that you would think is what you're supposed to do you you you you talk about the team that you know the one that wins the NFC west you go to the Super Bowl you miss the Superbowl basically by one play and and and you want to get better and I think after the Superbowl in after free agency you you start thinking whether the team is not as good as they used to be I think if you look at the team now I mean you would have to think that you know they are as good or better then they were going to the Superbowl yeah I I mean you only hold off on saying that is because we haven't seen this combination of guys play together yet put Trent Williams is a like I just got a text from our buddy Kevin Francis a good pick great pick

Would Tom Brady to the 49ers make any sense?
"NBC. Sports Boston's Tom. Curran told our old friend Chris Mad Dog Russo on his radio. Show that the chatter chatter connecting. Tom Brady to the forty niners as quote real now again. I heard that in India by the way before went on the air and said it. I had heard that Which I dismissed it as A. That's ridiculous and then I would assume the heard it as well and because he's a master at disseminating information played it. As you know I got an idea. This is crazy but out here you know but that that was as early as Friday Thursday. That was kicking around here. Jimmy Garoppolo the details of it are pretty fascinating the time that current said it was from both sides. Oh of course. Tom Brady wants to play for the forty niners. He's looking around the league possible teams to play for that. I can't come up with a better pick. Not just because he is his favourite teammate. And I mean that's the starting point. The next would be how how good they are and how Santa me everything's raincoat. And the fact that the forty niners have some mutual interest. According to this report is what and put yourself Garoppolo shoes. You have a really. You got traded from Tom. Brady's team across the country. You have this great ending to the season with the niners. Then you play your Tom Brady in two thousand nineteen you blow out your knee. Very frustrating comeback. You improve as a player. Maybe you're not all the way there where you're superstar. Maybe you'll never be that guy but you have a better season than Tom Brady. Your team goes to the Super Bowl and has a double digit lead in the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl. And now you're hearing that the guy that you had go three thousand miles across the country to get out from under Mike. Come back to you. That's a tough situation stinks. But I would say that you look back when the trade happened. There were whispers that the forty niners had inquired about Tom. Brady not even whispered. I mean that was out there. And secondly if you're Tom Brady and you you're gonNA leave Josh mcdaniels in this embedded patriots environment for team x and you have no idea what really is happening to the one team. I could trust if I'm Tom Brady going teaming with Kyle Shanahan and seen how that two year process will play out the first one where I thought this is the first brady remember. It makes sense on his side. I don't know how it makes sense for the forty niners but it does make sense for Tom. Brady well there. There is thought that Jimmy G. Kyle Shanahan you know aren't a perfect match where he's not doing what? Kyle wants reading answers on every play and that maybe Jimmy G. doesn't always have the answers wash the fourth super bowl. Look if you're trying to compare the ability to win before the snap or the mental ability of quarterback comparing someone at Tom Brady. You're not going to end up looking great but I think that's some one where Kyle Shanahan would look. That's the advantage that Tom Brady would give to them that he would. He would know all the answers and and as crazy as it is. I mean I'm not putting this as like it's the answer but pf for instance. Had Tom Brady as a much higher rated quarterback last year and. I don't think that's crazy. I think Tom Brady led similar or better level. Brady's entire two thousand nine hundred thousand season under the microscope that Jimmy. Jeez fourth quarter was has been under. And you're going to see a guy who failed over and over again with the New England. Patriots feels tremendously shortsighted. If the niners went this route I mean Brady is going to be what forty three and August. He's showing signs of slippage. Garoppolo is a guy that still in his twenties. What is take? That doesn't make sense right. What what do you do in two thousand? Twenty three cents. I think if you have to think long you don't because if you're Kyle Shanahan you're up twenty eight to three in the Super Bowl you'll lose. And now what are the Falcons? They've never been back. They're not the same your window. That's the thing that's you know. I experienced it from two years ago with the chargers. At twelve and four beating the ravens going New England. It's tied at seven. You feel like okay this is great than Brady gets the best of you. You come back following year and people are picking win the Super Bowl to win the division. You've already be Patrick mahomes once maybe you figured it out with Derwyn Jones and it falls apart. You can't like there is no law window in the NFL FAST. But the so just go get it. Go Win the one championship and worry about one mile scenario to also just indicate that they don't that Jimmy Garoppolo is someone that they're invalid about long-term because I think there is a. There are a number of quarterbacks are there are situations where of course they would not want to jump off a guy in his twenties but if they considered a move. Like saying this one specific. Don't feel great about Jimmy D but I'll tell ya I'll tell you who is excited about this. I mean If there is a perfect situation or to get patriots this is it. I mean this is this is this is. This is what I as a selfish fan would have wanted. I I've said on this podcast. I don't WanNa see. Tom Brady played poorly in any uniform. But I'd rather have played poorly in another uniform and the Patriots and this this story here at least I would think we talk about Patriots fans all the time. It's all you ever bring up. I wish I could jump off of it but this would bring me back in. I mean I think it comes down to this. This cow Shanahan Jimmy. Garoppolo holds them back right now and if he does then sense to look into it. I guess if you're interested US coachspeak but they absolutely believe it is is a better than guy be do. I think my team has a better chance on a super bowl with Tom. Brady or Jimmy Garoppolo next year. Because if I believe. It's Tom Brady. Guess WHO's coming to play quarterback Tom Brady. This is too good having that some pink upright there Jimmy G. wants back with the Patriots as starter. I'm I mean you can't just sell that down the river as an organic happening that feels to me like a prepackaged preplanned plot hatched years

What one thing Kyle Shanahan would have done differently in Super Bowl
"Shanahan first public comments post the Super Bowl indicating he thinks the way they ended the first half was one of the reasons why they were up in the in the fourth quarter quote. I think that's one of the reasons why we're up. Ten in the fourth quarter and quote also thinks Jimmy Garoppolo one of the main reasons they got the super bowl quote. Jimmy is one of the main reasons we got the super bowl times by pal shot at hand. I'm telling the first comment obviously defend his quarterback. Doc Look no one's defended. Shane had play calling for the last few days. More than me. I think the criticism of him throwing the ball has been way overblown. But I'm still critical of of how we handle the end of that first half yes. It's why they were up ten but I do believe he should of anticipation that Patrick mahomes against gas line of Defense in the fourth quarter was a bad bad matchup and they should have tried to take the point when their offense and the defense. We're both dominating capital Biracial Shannon. I'm buying this is exactly what you want to hear. The leader is conviction. You don't need him lamenting this loss. Nothing's going to change. Don't keep watching the titanic over and over again as for starting next year. Of course you should. He's not not only was a good game manager but he had the best pass completion last year referring to Emmanuel Sanders. WHO said he's already watched the Super Bowl five or six times and every time? It's like watching the titanic padded down. Frank do you know that feeling by herself. Shanahan year his goal was not to give the ball back at the end of the first half. Let's remember the offensive offensive. Pass interference call. They should have been down there kicking a field goal going ahead by three points. The issue was those two drives after. San Francisco's I'm sorry after the Kansas City scored that was the issue in the fourth quarter. They did not lose a game in the first half. I don't have a problem with it and bob run a CELENA BY I. AM selling the nonsense agenda. Have I remember sitting here thinking Tom. Brady's watching this going for a minute. Forty three time outs give it to me. Give it to me. Every coach in the League was saying. What are you doing Janet? Hey and you're asking. What are you doing Bob? I have to say respectively. I'm selling you. What were you doing with your super bowl? Pick because they never came in. You never made a super bowl pick right here except Francisco within Cisco Forty niners. Here's your deduction Emily Kaplan. I mean this was not blackstone but about as good as you can do it as well. You're here you're super bowl. Pick and we move on fire sale to raptors one nineteen pacers one eighteenth the champs who you can never talk about coming coming back from nineteen down to get the win. They now have won twelve straight if a defending champion warriors team where he teamed one twelfth. You'd be writing love sonnets. In IAMBIC pentameter

The Chiefs Win the Super Bowl and the Niners Blow It, With Cousin Sal
"Did the chiefs witness or did the niners lose this. And if the answer is both what is your percentage split. Okay well it has to be both. It has to be both because it's no coincidence. That now mahomes five and in games that he's been down double digits so you got that but it's also no coincidence that Kyle Shanahan in his last fourth quarter Super Bowl drives that he's called. Yeah as gone three and fumble six and pont. I'm stealing this off the Internet him. Sorry for whoever did this foreign pont five point three and pont seven turnover downs to an interception. ooh though I wanNA say San Francisco some as a sixty forty San Francisco right there is that fair. Well you left out the part that in his last two fourth quarter overtimes. Where's the offensive coordinator for the Falcons Against Patriots? The other time outscored forty six to nothing. Yeah I look at it this way you know. I had the big bet for plus three seventy five before the playoffs on San Francisco. It's twenty ten. They get a pick. There's twelve minutes left. They have a phenomenal running game that ends up finishing the game running for seven yards a carry. Yep like twenty twenty one carries the one hundred forty plus yards. I felt like the game was over. And I know Mahomes is on the other side line and they've come back twice but they have literally literally the perfect team in the league to run out a game like that up ten with more with momentum with everything you want and the play action was working And they had really figured out a way to control the pace and when you look at those last three drives it felt like that she switches sending the house and and like screen passes. Were there just all kinds of things that were false starts in the manner side not running when they should have one Bad plays as and I. I don't I never liked to use the word choke with sports because these guys are much better than we are but they've really blew it. That is one of in one of the all time and we blew it super bowl losses. In my opinion I thought they right. They kept their foot off the gas and first of all it happened at the beginning. The end of the first half an in what happened with that time management there will chant ended. DidN'T WANNA use a timeout. Looked like he was just happy content to go in the locker room ten ten yet but then gets a first down like to the forty about right and then as timeouts and then the drives fizzles but who knows if you start that drive. What one one twenty seven instead of like thirty seven? It's a different story. So yes we hold that thought right but so it's a key moment for a couple reasons. One they don't call time out before the chiefs chiefs punt so another forty seconds runoff by the time they get it. There's a little under a minute. Left there on their twenty. I was watching it thinking. They're so afraid of the chiefs chiefs. They they don't even want to leave a scenario where mahomes might get the ball back with thirty seconds left to reverse but at the same time if you look at the way they played pretty much this entire Gabe it was really kinda playing not to lose you. Know they had feel goes over and over again and they had a lot of like third and five and third and four zero where they you know they technically. If you're really going for the jugglers down territory at least a couple times. They're always happy to settle settled for three. The fourth in two was pretty egregious in the second half just because I don't know that I never felt like they try to grab the game by its throat. And and you need points to beat the chiefs team but when you think about the first forty eight minutes of that game it could have gone better for them because they didn't try to grabbed game by the throat but they're still sitting there with the lead up ten with the ball with the running game. That's gashing the chiefs and I think it's a colossal. We blew it lost. Like even if you go back to the Seattle pats game where Where the Malcolm Butler pick Seattle was still making plays to win that game? You know the pats came down. I'm from ten same way but Seattle is still like throwing haymakers back. They got that huge pass on the on the crazy long ball down the field that set up the Lynch played. You know I I just felt like the niners really rolled over the last ten minutes. And that's before we get to the defensive side of thing. It was really rough. I kind of in disbelief. That they'd when Super Bowl. I know you're bummed but I'm thinking about this from the other way. I think like I think he'd wake up tomorrow. Morning more bummed if Jimmy G. drove his team down the field this guy you got a second round pick forward we added for and won that game. You would've won money but all the Jimmy Jeez better than Brady. What's Brady doing? Brady inserts himself. In commercials is yeah. The Patriots are pathetic. I think we would have heard that would have been the narrative if the forty niners at one that starts a you know either way. I think we're going to start talk about starting earning a dynasty and I feel like we'll get we'll talk about odds next year's odds men and I'm sure but Patrick Mahomes is starting that right when you have a quarterback that just comes comes back. It doesn't really matter what's going on. Seems to not get flustered at all. Yeah that's a scary scary team. But I wanNA give the chiefs a little credit their running game the the biggest Sucker bat was like the forty niners minus thirty three and a half yards. I think it was thirty. Six thirty three right in there over the Chiefs it ended up one forty one to one twenty nine San Francisco and that's misleading. Because Patrick Mahomes in one of the worst Super Bowl bad had beats I can remember had forty four yards before he kneeled down has over on the twenty nine and a half for loss. Fifteen yard three kneel. Downs ended up with twenty twenty nine. So they really did have more rushing yards and San Francisco and you never ever would've thought that and that that's why they won the game that and the third and fifteen play I thought in the fourth quarter. It was why they want. I WANNA go back later to all the things the niners did wrong. And you're right. We should praise the chiefs. They had an awesome come for behind victory. They think were what the fifth team to win a super bowl. Where at some point in the playoffs they were down ten? I remember seeing that that tweet somewhere hold on. Let me find that ten three times. Scott Scott Caz Mar he said Only four out of fifty three super bowl. Oh winners trailed by ten in the playoffs until tonight. Nineteen seventy six raiders. Down Eleven to New England. The Sugar Sugar Bear Ham at the game. The first horrible horrible football US ever had two thousand one patriots snow game. Some people got Tuck rule game called Snow Game. Two Thousand Fourteen Patriots Seattle Two thousand hasn't Sixteen Patriots Atlanta Down Nineteen the Patriots. Were somehow involved all four times. This happened until Nice until today. So now we're talking five out of fifty three where they've trailed by ten plus and the chiefs became the fifth team to do it. So there you go so I They deserve it. They're the best. I think they're the best right. Ravens got picked off bad job by them chiefs to the best

Super Bowl 54 Recap
"Kansas City Thirty One San Francisco Twenty air it. It is Mitchell as he's been waited his whole damn life to make that call and cheese fans. They've been waiting fifty years for their team to Hoist Lombardi and it finally finally happened on this. The second of February two thousand twenty the Kansas City chiefs are the super bowl champions after that thirty one to twenty win over the San the average Cisco Forty nine dollars a game in which they were down like they were all their postseason games by double digits. This time in the fourth quarter and yet Patrick Mahomes and company would not not be denied. Dan Heads here the around the NFL podcast presented by little caesars. And yes I'm coming to you from a hard rock stadium that is filled with heroes mark. Sesser Chris Wesseling and Greg Rosenthal. What is up boys? Hey Dan still filled with some chiefs fans and employs employs. Usually I feel like we start the taping after midnight. got going a little quicker like there's still an MVP chant going on the exciting. These fans. Don't WANNA leave. They've waited. You know half a century for this. Yeah usually when we're here it feels like we're ghosts like passing passing through a stadium and and and you can't. You're not sure if you're humid or not until you get back to the hotel but in this case where here. The field is is covered in confetti. Where on the third level the really Nice hardrock stadium here in Miami was great Super Bowl Week? A lot of fun a great city for a super bowl the eleventh and Super Bowl in this area which is most just past New Orleans and If you're a cheese fan this was the dream come come true and I got to watch the second half of this game in the seats With my cousin Matt and I just you know watching an older gentleman guy looked like he was in his fifties with his wife Cheese FAN IN JERSEY. As that game it became clear. After obviously the Damian will even before the Damian Williams run that clinched it it was becoming clear then the Williams touchdown and then there was this release. Like Oh my God the chiefs are GonNa win the Super Bowl and it was a well-earned win and one that didn't look particularly like it was heading in this direction even halfway through the fourth. That's quarter the chiefs to me. Their players and coach Kinda remind me of the fans. It's been so long since they got that Super Bowl in Randy read. It's been so long a guy like Frank Clark find his way there. Honey Badger finds his way to Kansas City to make this happen. Terrell suggs is lucky enough to come along for the ride at the end of the year. A lot of I just find their way to Kansas City and end up winning this one and you're right fourth quarter at midway through the fourth quarter forty nine hundred ninety five point six percent win probability. I know that's not your stat. The latest evidence that people need to stop talking about win probability it means nothing other than a twitter talking boy. It means it means it's unlikely the other team's GonNa win and now know Kyle Shanahan. Would it peaked at about ninety nine point wait. Six percent against the Patriots early in the fourth quarter always had ninety five point six percent. The percentage. I don't think takes into account Patrick Mahomes uh-huh it just doesn't or the chiefs offense or Andy Reid like the way that you have to dominate Patrick mahomes and make his life. If uncomfortable for sixty minutes I think is the hardest thing to do in the NFL. The forty niners balled out on defense. Not Unlike I believe the the Seahawks balled out on defense against the broncos. They did so many things right for the first three quarters. I think in a lot of scenarios and with a lot of quarterbacks that game would have been twenty seven to six at with eight minutes left in the fourth quarter and they're never could've been a comeback but mahomes got out of a lot of plays blaze. That could have gone worse. He had a lot of negative. Plays the chiefs defense. Did just enough and it just shows you. Yeah you can. You can do a lot while. They held him to five point three yards per play which is a very very low number for the chiefs and she's still put up thirty one points in nine drives. They barely have the ball. They still went over not surprising. Because that's what they've been doing for for months and months and if we had one kernel of information going into the for the last two weeks to to base our analysis on that the chiefs and Patrick Mahomes I would open the third quarter with back to back picks by Patrick Mahomes and that the niners would be nestling a twenty two ten lead minutes into into the fourth. You would think this is a perfect setup for San Francisco to run away with this thing but if you give Patrick Mahomes even ten minutes to operate and it gets hot. Aw everything's off the table. Fifty fifty two and a half minutes of game time the niners down day and I remember thinking as has the game was reaching as it's ticking through the fourth quarter and they have a twenty two ten lead and thinking what made the chief. So unstoppable all when they were humming the regular season but especially in those two comebacks in the AFC playoffs it. was that big play ability. That the niners there's through their dominant front four. Were taking away. Mahomes running for his life just by his brilliance kept the game close because is almost any other quarterback decided. Lamar Jackson has a couple sacks. Fumbles and the game gets away. Like what Von Miller Cam Newton a few years back but he was able to stay on his feet. Keep the game from getting away and the what really sticks out to me at that moment again. Midway through the fourth quarter after the tyreek hill catches is overturned on review. And you feel the entire building is psyching up. It feels like the niners are about to make the big play. Plays away from winning the super. Aw It is third and a miles third and fourteen. I believe third and fifteen and I leaned to my cousin Matt. I said the most likely play. Is You get try to get half of this back and then make a manageable fourth-down fourth and five and get it done. But no that's not what the chiefs do that's not how they operate and even a game where they never made any big plays with the season on the line mahomes dropback. This time found tyreek Hill West on a busted coverage and that changed

Hot Seat Szn: The NFL Coaching Carousel
"Dan You talked about. How if it's only been a year? Sometimes a team will say. Let's give this guy a chance to turn things around. But it's been a couple of years in in Detroit with Matt Patricia. Why do you think that team came out before black Monday? And said we're going to hang onto him despite the fact that he's one In two seasons as many games as Jim Caldwell one in a single season before he was fired in Detroit I think the key is bob coined the GM right he comes from New England. He gets rid of Caldwell he goes and six out Patricia who knows from New England and he has sold ownership on. We can build this thing. Long-term here's what Martha firestone foreign said about her decision to bring back both former patriots quote. We expect to be a playoff contender. We expect to play meaningful games in December as she's referring bring to next season when she brings him back whatever he's told them about here are signs that it can work. They've bought whether they're correct or not. I think you know the former New England crew. That's running the Detroit. Lions has convinced Detroit Lions Ownership. Here's why this can work here. We're sorry it hasn't worked right away but two years isn't long enough. Give us another chance. And we'll see how much does the GM matter when we're looking at these teams in trying to evaluate whether or not they're going to move on from their head coach well matters a lot. It commensurate a couple of different ways one. How tied together are they did the GM hire the coach? And right now when when Quinn goes Detroit cold wells already there. You figure we'll cold well. It's not going to last because Quinn's GonNa WanNa bring in his own Guy Lo and behold that happen happen so if you are the guy that the GM hired that might help you if you are the guy that GM hired but it's going poorly and you're the the first guy the GM hired then. Recent history has shown us that you are the one in trouble and the GM is not there are coaches out. There that will tell you that. GM sits in the owner's box. He talks to the owner all game. He's the voice he hears while the coaches are down there on the field losing and it's pretty easy for the GM that kind of position himself. Like hey this isn't my fault. Let's make a change and try it another either way. I do think there are situations where you see more and more around the league where it goes in the other direction where. The coach kind of picks up in San Francisco. John Lynch came because Kyle Shanahan wanted wanted him in Buffalo Brandon. Beane came because Sean McDermott wanted him so I like that. Formula Teens are using now or they get the coach. I coach brings in mm somebody. He knows he can believe in. They understand the salary cap in the same way and can do all that administrative stuff together. I think that's that's a formula that looks like it's working in a few spots.

NFL Week 8 Monday Night Football Betting Picks: Miami Dolphins at Pittsburgh Steelers
"Welcome in to the the board podcast powered by Fox bet week eight Monday night football edition dolphins steelers y'all are pretty excited for which would be a barn burner of a football game I'm your host firm joined by my colleague coast the one the only pain insider lots of enthusiasm I'm trying pain I'm not a premature whistle blower like we saw in Nashville but I still haven't positive mindsets get this thing going believe it you can achieve it and it wasn't the results were looking for either the college or professional football rain six but we persevere we continue to plow ahead and no we have a long season left in front of us so as we do every Monday we'll start the good the bad and the ugly we of course Dr Chow waiting in the wings to break down what the JJ watt injury means for the Houston Texans and he'll update us and some of our favorite quarterbacks the pain. Let's go glass half full what did you see this weekend that had you excited and brimming with optimism where do we start so much Scott the forty niners because I always leave things are more impressive when prior to the game it's not supposed to look that way so we a significant professional money come in on Carolina so it makes the win even more impressive to me personally because I just feel like they exceeded expectation and I managed and I think we both did here right to avoid this game now we dead value is certainly on Carolina like numbers wise right when you look at the number got six six and a half earlier in the week like Mason Rudolph was catching that same number in his first start ever on the road so value is I get it but I think we talked Thursday which is like a horrific matchup right Carolina doesn't have left tackle Bosa continues to like full-blown just eat out there I think he's got the highest pressure rate he's on pace to set the highest pressure rate for any rookie in NFL history right now kyle kind of talked about this the one above it average pass defense he played he struggled against earlier in the season which was Jacksonville the forty niners would obviously be even tougher than that he was the most inaccurate quarterback in terms of completion percentage expectation of sixteen percent below expectations the worst so far this week and we saw that at there wasn't very good can't stop the run we talked about that Cohen Short once he went out for the season and there was a big check mark there offensively from what I'm what I'm seeing from the forty niners is is Kyle Shanahan is just ahead of his time with what he's doing even though it's very basic right it's I think he's in this concerts jokingly kind of the real inventor of the exotic smashmouth right the ball is just like spread around there's all these interchangeable parts wide receivers are getting handoffs but like at its core it's very simple offense and I think the scary part here todd is like you look or seven and no right now in the NFC but they're without their left tackle there without the right tackle there without their versatile full-back call us check and I think I could wrong about this and it's probably not worth the money was paid but I feel like Jimmy G. has another gear that we haven't seen yet either which makes this forty-nine seem really scary well and I think some of that's got to be by design if you're Kyle Shanahan why reveal all your cards when you don't have to right now and then there's no doubt that Jimmy G. High profile passing attack is somewhere there I imagine as they can can you to build chemistry with Emmanuel Sanders able to get into the end zone and his forty niners debut it makes his team even scarier and I know pain we don't talk a lot about futures here because guys don't have access turn prices and you Never WanNa do hyperbole but right now when you look at the NFC or the forty niners the team to beat the more complete package outside of experience levels than the New Orleans saints tough to you obviously love with the saints are doing especially defensively that front seven has really taken another step I do feel like whoever gets home field advantage because the saints home field advantage so massive you'd give the you'd leaned that way with ever team had home field advantage certainly the games get a little bit tougher here in the next few weeks off for the forty niners so we'll see what they're made of but man ah X. still kind of leaned saints especially if they were the team that got home field advantage going to be interesting NFC playoff picture definitely a number of teams on their best day more than capable of putting up crooked numbers and more importantly getting stops on the defensive side but aside from the forty niners pain or are there any other teams and our individual performances that really stood out to you Daniel Jones right if you're a giants fan you have to pretty encouraged in whether you could've met seventeen or six I mean that's it's kind of a relevant at this point you know and I liked I saw accuracy wise again delivered a completion percentage five and a half percent greater than expectations four touchdowns no picks and I think that that last part there with the no picks is really impressive when you look at how aggressive he was six most aggressive quarterback in week eight so far obviously two games tonight but of all the quarterbacks that have played so far six most aggressive and the other thing is when you look at how he's doing it right now in general young quarterback he's been pressured a shit ton right forty six percent of its drawbacks pressured on the season most in the NFL among qualifying quarterbacks and he's this young young he hasn't flinched yet so I I really like I think you have to be happy for your giants fan of what the future could be with Daniel Jones so fantastic performance although in a loss did did get back door there so I know a lot of giants backers were happy that was the sharp side again closed five and a half some places so Daniel Jones got the pros money and look good again that he did one ill advised throw cost him dearly early in the game came back up the fumble yeah it was the fumble that probably could have gone I mean you it's a turnover no matter how you slice it but interception fumble just not sure he's doing it to throw but for anybody to watch that game was interesting there was a bad penalty at the tail end of the first half where the giants allegedly rough the ultimate leads the three for the lions and changed the dynamic a little bit in that context wonder if the giants would have actually had a chance to win that game outright if things had played differently but for alliance do nothing but bad luck I guess they wrote a break or two in that extra appointments made things a little wonky to some of the decision making it the nail to me how to chase a two and it's one of those things where you just start chasing points and you open that Pandora's box and if you don't convert things continue to create that downward spiral but a good performance from Daniel Jones you mentioned his second career game over three hundred yards four touchdowns then a nice job against a depleted lions secondary with the good I want to add one other into it of course it was in a losing effort Mike Evans yet again puts up Gargantuan numbers eleven catches hundred ninety eight yards and two touchdowns but one of those things that I'm not quite sure why the bucks don't look for Evans and crunch time when he was the stat stuffer all game long and the titans apparently had no answer in their secondary starting to get doubled a little bit dried movement of the slot to get them open and got doubled again so you know he had forty four percent of the buccaneers area are gesture die but obviously not enough however no you want to praise him and you probably didn't turn on the game quick enough but he did have the bad drop on the opening drive in the end zone the bucks were forced to settle for three instead of seven I did I did see that drop bring it up I do want to ask you about that when you throw through a little bit of congestion I know Matt Melons in your hands catch the ball all right so I wanted to find out so you your opinion is now well documented around Mike Evans if you're going to be elite God damn elite all right so that that's where I'm going with it was just really annoying game not going to complain right side wrong result and you go into halftime with the two hundred fifteen yards seventy one yard edge you trail that's a problem and then I thought we were gold right you fight your way back you blow you get up six late in the third quarter and then you know you hope officials can do their job good for Devon white by the way rookie did a fantastic job there sniff out fake laid to feel them out it was like a WWF and I believe they're wwe now but I'm old so wwf like a clothesline he just sent the snapper into orbit there in the all clearly comes out its return for a touchdown of course they blow their whistle so you can't you can't review it and it was a turnover on downs anyways because it was fourth down so said of a seven air when bucks up three with under Ford ago we were still down four in the problem is that you know you're not gonna your situation where it's four down territory or not kicking field goal to cover the spread for the good guys chase kicked to feel go forty eight yarder right through the UPRIGHTS two minutes to go get outta dodge with a one point loss single text bruce and eh lepers no team bet the board it's all about covering the number not winning games outraged good guy might have done it now if the good come the bad and this one is tough for me to kind of put down pain because I think they were very good for three quarters but it's the kind of game that you have to win on the road you're at the tail end of it's been a mammoth road trip the Oakland raiders finishing the game against Houston Texans were nearly two yards per play better as far as net is concerned and you look they did give up some penalty yards and everything else they had the football a lot less but they had an excellent chance to win the game on the road they outscored in the fourth quarter and to Shawn Watts and make some let real place to get the Texans the outright victory Deshaun Watson in Hopkins it's like the Russell Wilson Lockwood combination those two geysers like carrying goddamn franchise right now because Bill Brian is just continues to be a mess anyways I hate being singular play guy but you're one and you have a chance to kind of I don't WanNa say ice the game with your offense but certainly go up eight or if you decided to be a savage go for the to to put it up nine and there is a plan like second and six from the Houston twenty four in Gruden calls a run play and you'll lose a yard and now you're backed up to third wall and then you Veasley incomplete there and and you settle for a field goal only go for I love Josh Jacobs but the Texans Defense is superior against the run than it is pass in the Texans secondary isn't link absolute shambles with injuries right and they were down another starter who got injured in the game and as an offense you got tyrone Williams back and Jones who you trade four finally like kind of got into the fold now that he understands the offense after you were healthy as you've been at receiver like virtually all season attack the weakness man put it in the air instead then do that in that one specific drive could've put him up potentially two scores if they'd went for two and you rely on your defense against Watson and you got burn so to me there is some some mismanagement there was some playcalling late in that game as you kind of alluded to but they did blow sure well you mentioned mismanagement pain and it's funny you use such a word choice where do we want to go to Chicago bears and how they handled their performance against the chargers so I didn't watch the game because I couldn't dedicate enough time to it I'm GonNa go back and actually watch today it's one of those games that was really intriguing to me because guys that uh yeah I work with love the charger so much and they with the chargers plus four and a half and plus four I didn't see it so when there's games that's where my guys like adamant that this is the side and I don't see it myself on my I gotTa really pay close attention to this and because I have add I can't do that with like watching games so two one on and watch today but as I'm like tracking the play by play and now that I'm like looking at the data we just download it charges were not decide and we had this debate all week long and you may see something different but the charges were not decide but I'll let you share what you saw from the data I mean I'm just looking at just like two hundred and thirty one total yards of offense in the year two thousand nineteen on the road and you're only getting what would have been like three point two closing number I don it doesn't look like just by all the data that that was the right side
