"A a workman's vehicle as opposed to the slingshot, which is more of a fun toy So with that being said, you know I was talking to my wife, what are we GONNA do the slingshot And a few years ago when I first got the slingshot a fan, we stopped me on social media and told me that he bet that I wouldn't auction it off for charity So I, I was talking to my wife and my we do something it's been such a unique year. We haven't been able to do a lot of the fundraisers that we typically do for the Children's hospital here and in Minnesota and I was like, why don't we just see how much money we can raise and? "Rick Spielman Robert Ski Coach Summer There's just there's no desire for me to WanNa go anywhere else and I think. That is evident in you know seeing how many guys have either stay here or you know in the in Gaza situation come here for less money because they just want to be a part of this organization ten years. Hey, I. Honestly see obviously, very, very wealthy but that that is not. At all congratulations, there's only been those those stats at the give out for. The, percentage of athletes at last three years four years, five years. Ten years is a very, very, very small number congratulations especially at tight end ain't easy. That's not easy. Thank you body field by field. Know. What I feel good. I think it's one of the things that as you get older, you get wiser and you learn how to take care of your body and with March madness being canceled this year we didn't party in Vegas, we do together. Feel good going into the season Bingo I mean life feels a lot better without that stuff going on. Ten years ago you're at Notre Dame obviously Notre Dom. Little hold shot Lou Holtz, whoever was your coach at the time and everything like that. There was a report that came out on sports illustrated or one a sports illustrated's affiliates that Notre Dame. Pretty much saved like college football because when the big ten impact twelve, this is not our words. This is being reported by people who are paid to report stuff who actually check it and all that Shit. So allegedly the big ten whenever they in the PAC twelve decided to postpone the season they thought they were going to be heralded as heroes and they thought that the ACC the next day was going to do the exact same they for some reason, I don't a conversation in then the story goes that Notre Dame called the ACC immediately upon hearing about. The big ten twelve and said Hey let's work something out. Let's figure this out. So we'll join the is is either later or something like that ACC was like, okay, we get NBC National Primetime Game Every single week we have this whole thing in the future we definitely do that and then potentially saved college football at this point with what you've done with the NFL here with the testing and how the whole process is gone. Do you think there is a safe way to go throughout this entire season? That college football is could definitely do an easily replicate. You know it. It's harder for them just simply on the fact for us, we have daily testing. The numbers have been published with the you know thousands of tests that players staff had over the last six weeks you know I, I know most of the people in College football I think are maybe testing a couple times a week You know the the thing daily testing is you know you know you compare it to you know virus comes in you know one person has it if you have to. Wait two or three days get tested. There's a greater chance for a really get throughout the course of your team whereas in the NFL with us being tested every day you know you know immediately if somebody tests positive them and everyone that they've been around is now kept out of the building. So I do think in in the positivity comes from, you know the numbers that we've had over the last six weeks I think less than ten people have tested positive player and stack throughout the entire NFL in. All of us. Tall. So being that we've done it for six weeks and it's not like everybody's been in a hotel for training camp and we've been isolated from our families We've done this for six weeks. I. Don't see why that would change Now as we move forward throughout a seventeen weeks season and also I in through college football 'cause I know they're they're very adamant about the testing as well. Okay. Well, Kyle, just feel very good this weekend I hope you have a great game. I hope you do very, very well. If you could make sure Aaron Rodgers also has a good game because he's joining us next Tuesday's or if you could tell Joyce in the back end, let them come and do you guys get the win? found. Good. Guy Congrats on the extension congrats on ten years. Thanks for joining us and you're the man. Thanks guys I appreciate lays gentleman two time pro Bowler Kyle Rudolph with hell of a push off last player..

"I I think. I think in Corona Times. You should be able to do it. Oh, now you're using the damage to your advantage to wow, but they'll. Do you want to throw. In terms of the video. We shot in November, so that one doesn't hold as much weight. Along different well, the only reason I said because I'm taking advantage of the corona rules big time with the lifting place. there's no rakes anymore. So I'm able to walk these balls in these bunkers and I just lifted up in I. Smooth at and I service. DROP DOWN! Someone looks like lifting plates. That's the rule you're. You're menace out there, yeah? I wrote an excavator today and I lifted up dirt and I swung it around and push the places. Yeah, how what was what was your little photo? OP? What? What was that? Come from today? Once I went to a nice three, AK rockville links the little dump area in the middle of their golf course where they hold all there so I guess they did a ton of renovations at Rockville links and the they bought all their equipment. Usually you'll rent it right, 'cause. It's like whatever you may have to stay out of bunker in. Rents company they do everything in house. So all their guys like super that I go out with the actually like builds bonkers stuff so. I was able to ride. These excavators I was really fucking one talk about fast and loose. Are you should? I have a video that will probably out tonight just to get people. Stop talking about the bunker thing. Although it actually on that online, literally scooping out sand in this video, so I may write something like. I miss rice something like my next conquer shot or something. All right well, it'll be, it's. It's going to be fun to witness and watch the evolution of your defense of Frankie's bunker. Gate Frankie read whatever we ended up calling it because like I, said you've had probably four different ones during the show. I'm already it'll. It'll be fun. Stance is that I know I did the wrong thing in the bunker against the rule, so I'll say that like an annoyed when against the rules there, but I also just didn't know that the rules apply at that moment. So. Again. We'll see what that's dancers like. If I was in project stance I'd be like I deserve the penalty, but in my defense didn't know at the time that I was gonNA. Say you deserve the Bentley but badge agreed been like if I was in a tournament I. Bet yes, give me that stroke. The two stroke bounty, but I want everyone to know that while I was doing it. I didn't know receive mouth..

"My personal as a freshman in their elective between whatever theology classic wanted. Theology Marriage and family, so I'm thirty years old. I'm married with three kids, and I'm in the theology of marriage class with a bunch of college. Kids so it's quite entertaining The. The priests who who is professor, he loves me He loves my wisdom that I bring loves my real life experience so that will that one school, because like I said. It's a bunch of college, kids and we're. Learning, basically my life. Air Catholic. The family like I'm doing what we're learning. Exactly so. That in school, and then my other one is a finance class. It's macaroni class kind of on the world economy. So that means a grind. Bounds a lot harder. So you gotTa start you start. Camp like in about a week or you're supposed to. Is that if golf, do you? Do you keep playing when you're in camp or no? No so usually the end of July when we reported journey GAM. That's that's on the club's get hung up and. Hopefully. I'm not picking up again until mid February when we go back down to south Florida so Maybe that's part of the reason why my golf game is so inconsistent. Take six off every year it's. Like yes, I could go and like hit balls for thirty minutes or an hour while the weather still decent Minnesota but Especially in training, camp and stuff you get a day a week or so and. The kids are so excited to see you spend time with you. It's hard for me to justify this going up hitting balls. Although my three year, olds love going to the range now so maybe I'll be able to get them out and go hit balls for a little while because they enjoy going it so. Who knows maybe I'll be able to get the called a few times this year and How is your is your training at all been different because everything that's going on like. Is there a certain level of uncertainty that seeps into everything that you do because you're just not sure how things are going to play out, or is it pretty much the same? Yeah Oh? There's definitely a level of uncertainty I tried to compare it to two thousand eleven. We had the lockout and You know there was no offseason. So you know for me I played my last name at Notre Dame than you do all the. Pre draft training then we're drafted in and there was no rookie minicamp. Ota's no vet minicamp. Just ended July. "Grace ever sounded. Did you. Don't know till you know that's why it's Kinda I. Just figured I'd pick it up and roll with it and it kind of works out next up. We have a very good friend. Kyle Rudolph's spend a Lotta time with WHO's an awesome. I talked to your Super Bowl had on the show. He's a big time guy and frankly played recently so enjoys Minnesota Vikings All Right Ladies and gentlemen we are joined for what third or fourth time probably by a very special guests, our good buddy, the Minnesota Vikings Mister Kyle. big country where you where you have thirty back up in in many. Yeah, we're in Minneapolis at home. just got back from the American Century Tournament on Lake Tile. So talk to us about this tournament. Tournament looked awesome. Yeah the tournament was awesome. My game was a whole I didn't coming last. Ib Charles Barkley. So that's kind of my only go. Going into. The week is not coming in last. In technically last year I came and seventy I while this year team at sixty six elected about thirteen years from now I'll be. Taking the crown from Mardy fish and and being a champion at the American Century. Maybe, maybe you're spiraling out of control from your loss match to me. Maybe you just haven't got back on the saddle ever since you lost that role all game that we played that. Why is that? They wouldn't even take my money like. Go out there in. Both. Frankie and China breath they go out there and make Birdie monette burden Grossberg on the last owner and don't take our money rolling re-rule so. Yeah. They got out of there before they even give them my money, so it's August. It was good times, but what we were actually talking about when we played that round at many was like the difference in stepping in in between the ropes and playing in front of like you know you have cameras, and you're playing a tournament style golf. Golf event like what instant nurse I mean, it's completely different than stepping up at your local country club,.

"Radio back to the NFL some big moves Monday as the talking began Tom Brady hasn't made a decision although some of the decisions may be impacting him meanwhile we know Amari Cooper will be staying with Dallas end the bills reportedly acquiring Stefon Diggs of the Vikings for four draft picks earlier on ESPN radio on Freddie inferred Simmons giving up a first fifth sixth for a guy who has been a massive headache in your locker room for the last two years and and during a you know a playoff game wild card game against the saints when I got but ends up winning the game right exactly Kirk cousins goes to Kyle Rudolph instead of digs no no I'm not some of the game winning touchdown time out at third or those of third down conversion and and they converted and digs goes off the field and throws his helmet into the bench do it you got a first down you about winning the game were just by yourself oh wait yeah we we we we know what you're about so I don't get giving up that much to get him outside from the public but from a kid a skill standpoint I do get it I knew they would take that better back to back thousand yard seasons I mean he is a remarkable talent my problem with Gallic Biggs is in the room because when he's not being targeted he's a pain in the rear end I wonder how much of this is the findings wanted out of Minnesota so badly that he was going to act like that now I'm not trying to explain it not condoning it all in but I wonder how much a whatever led to him wanting a break wanting a divorce in the Minnesota Vikings whatever that was it could be Adam Phelan and his emergence or you want to play a Kirk cousins wait a problem Mike Zimmer whatever it was the findings have enough for Minnesota and he did everything possible verbally invent action wise to make sure that they were not going to keep him even early today when Kirk cousins got his extension the findings was not have a leader was not even Catholic high thought he said I guess it's time to get out here tell me about the Minnesota he was determined to get out of whatever led to the break I don't know what it was but he got his wish now the findings you got what you want to handle it because if you don't people gonna say you had a good thing going to Minnesota where they were building my United Phelan and that wasn't good enough for you buffalo reportedly sending four picks to Minnesota a first a fifth or sixth in twenty twenty and a fourth rounder in twenty twenty one while also getting a seventh rounder back this spring from the Vikings Diggs is in the second year of a five year seventy two million

Diamondbacks' Madison Bumgarner secretly competes in rodeo events

"Arizona Diamondbacks left hander Madison Bumgarner has been competing in rodeo events under the alias Mason's Saunders and even one of twenty six thousand five hundred sixty dollars and a team roping competition in December according to a story published Sunday by the athletic Bumgardner was told I told the website that he has discreetly competed in rodeos for awhile including in March of last year two days before pitching for the San Francisco Giants in a cactus league spring training game he's been roping since he was fifteen or sixteen and said he's been added so long that quote it's just part of who you are he's the twenty fourteen World Series MVP if he agreed to an eighty five million dollar five year contract with the Diamondbacks this past December and I'm sorry Courtney if I was the diamond backs I wouldn't be thrilled to find out that my ace left hander yes competing in rodeos in the offseason this is the same guy who got injured on a dirt bike do not remember that when he was with the giants and that was a serious injury that put him out for a very long time no wonder he was performing I guess you want to call that under a pseudonym or a fake name because had you found out about this the Diamondbacks might not have spent eighty eighty five million dollar a gigantic sum over a five year contract on this guy I mean it doesn't make any sense like I understand the thrill of competition and this is who we is but these risky things every sport has stuff like this written into players contracts that you cannot do I mean I always go back to when it when he got hurt in San Francisco a few years ago do you remember the month Taylor's thing when he was with the warriors he fell off the scooter when he went back to Mississippi for the offseason S. lied about it yeah that was a story that came to mind and I feel like any time something like this it comes to the light I'm not one of these people is like all the cool funny look how cute of the story is I'm like what is he thinking like you get injured and made these you know these are animals eat these things have a mind of their own they're powerful they're strong and certainly he's you know well conditioned and knows how to be around horses but you know that to me is way too big of a risk if I'm a professional athlete you know the prime of my career to take but you know he's done it before and that he is you know we don't really get that much of outside having serious injuries at receiver big penalty from the team for you know the motorbike thing according to have the details how did he come up with the alias of Mason's Saunders instead of going with you know his own name Madison Bumgarner sell it this came from directly from the athletic article that broke the story said quote if you competed as Madison Bumgarner every phone camera in the area that would have been trained on him he said so he devised Mason Saunders the surname is the maiden name of his wife Allie Mason is a shortened version for Madison and it's something allegedly his wife called him out in public so people don't recognize them so very clever I'll give him that but I don't think the whole thing is a buzz saw her story totally bizarre and the other thing is you know if this was an NBA player everybody would recognize them already because NBA players are actually recognizable it just goes to show you how anonymous baseball players are that the most clutch postseason pitcher maybe of all time can compete in rodeos and nappy racket I think what I know it's wild lake in the in the fact is here like he continues to go what do these very risky things it just doesn't seem to care yeah if you get caught I mean there's the photo in that athletic article where he's smiling and you know he's with I guess that it's a two person thing that team roping so I hope twenty six thousand dollars I hope that Madison Bumgarner did not keep that for myself given the gigantic contract he just signed in December the but yeah he looks he's not there we is in this picture I mean I just think it's hilarious how almost incognito so many baseball players can live their lives in that matter just because they blend in because they're not these gigantic athletes by and large I mean they're not six eight or you know they don't think Shaquille o'neal out there everybody would be able to tell if you're you know for the most part with NBA athletes I just don't understand why when you have hit the genetic lottery anyway to be able to throw the ball a hundred miles an hour the end and to be able to make eighty six million dollars really it's more than that doing this why you would ever risk your body or put like what your fans in your organization is rooting for on the line so recklessly and you pointed out he already ruined the giants season aired my fantasy baseball season which is far more important Courtney by falling off of that dirt bike a couple years ago and here he is I guess he says I'm just going to live my life and Diamondbacks GM Mike Hazen told the athletic that quote he was not going to get into discussing specific contract language but you pointed this out that we know the player contracts have I can't imagine that the Diamondbacks are cool with their ace pitcher also being a rodeo road being a cowboy literally let alone they don't want to be a Dallas cowboy let alone in being a literal cowboy well I just remember a couple years ago at the end I felt combine whistle and was talking to Mike Zimmer about you know the quarterback situation at that point he had said that Sam Bradford had a degenerative knee I come to find out later that offseason I was speaking with Kyle Rudolph who said that he went skiing with Sam Bradford that off season right around the time of the combine so I'm thinking to myself you are here you are a health concern and you're going skiing or you could very easily risk tearing your ACL for a third time and you already had your season cut short because of injury like I wonder if these guys just do it for the thrill or maybe they just don't care because they have ungodly amounts of money to begin with if they feel like they can the kind of invincible they can do whatever they want but you do wonder like this has to be in contract language if you cannot do things like this because we know across sports there's certain things you're just not able to do I it's a liability reasons you ever been to a rodeo Courtney I half I went Mississippi when I work down there the show but county fair rodeo I've been to the Cheyenne frontier days shout out if you're listening in Cheyenne Wyoming on the ESPN radio affiliate there I gotta tell you it's oddly it is oddly entertaining but the the thrill of it is almost that you think that the that the ball right is just going to charge and block these cowboys into next year it is one of the most dangerous things I have ever seen and I never in my life once thought you know what it be cool to jump in there with these bowls and try to try this on for for my but how do you even practice you know you kind of just have to get in there and and take it on right yeah I guess I guess so what I mean I've seen the photos of Madison Bumgarner I'd taken the horse around the warning track at AT&T park when he was still a giant I just think that that's who he is this is got this guy is a country bumpkin at heart from North Carolina and I I just think that he grew up this way and it's always gonna be a part of him so he feels like Hey I'm an able bodied individual and I also have more money than anybody at this rodeo thing I'm gonna do what I want and it's somebody else take issue with it I'm sure they actually would found out about it right now well look I know why it's so good in the clutch in game seven of the World Series because if that that's nothing compared to facing down the eyes of a bull

"Reminded me of you for all of the wrong reasons Kyle Rudolph went to Twitter and pointed out that a media member had asked him for his gloves the gloves that he cheated to win the game against the saints with and he said short for charity of course I asked him to give the gloves over for charity I'll even sign them for you sentence for charity and then he gave it to the media member and then saw it being sold on eBay for three hundred seventy five dollars plus six dollars shipping and just pointed out that that was wrong and not only it's wrong is it wrong it's fire like whoever that person is who did that right that whatever media outfit he or she is representing our would be justified in firing that person for use in the locker room backs as a lot of the Kyle Rudolph about charity while making it three hundred seventy five dollars profit on love Rudolph's told the guy out while not really selling him out because he didn't say who was less than I have since apologized I mean I apologize you've been leaving messages on Kyle Rudolph machine yeah Rudy charities the name of my wife no you can't do that was that I applaud the guy first then I applaud the guy and you can't do that play is if he gets caught is to say I yeah I was going to take that three hundred and something dollars and I was going to give that to charity yeah that is the play that's good that is from the B. line book of backpedaling right there I wasn't calling on the dogs I was calling the logs I wasn't doing that not for charity I was doing it so I could give a charity cat it seems as though money is going to charity after all because the person that actually won the gloves on eBay reached out to Kyle Rudolph and said dad that he would offer to donate to charity one of Kyle's choice and was able to raise over a thousand dollars for the university Minnesota's children's hospital last night alone good job I can you guys help me out with something here because I want to point out on the front end of what could sound like a grape here that I know how absurd it is what we get to do for a living and the absurdity of the blessings that anyone pays us to do any of this nonsense every day however Dan Patrick just asked me to be on his show Super Bowl week and there were a couple of things that he said that I got jealous up one of them was we'll send a car for you which this sloppy outfit around here doesn't have the capacity to do no nonsense for anybody you have a Honda you can gravel now look at so he offered to send the car for me that I don't need but just the ability to send a car for somebody but you've seen these Dan Patrick when he does the Super Bowl he does it big and bold and he's going to come into our city and he's going to embarrass the Miami show that does it for ESPN because his situation is going to be so much more ornate than our situation this is very frustrating because I would describe are set up in radio row adds palatial and you just simply won't want to go the half block away going to be on the convention center he's on link the road right in the middle of the action I don't want to be in the middle of that actually.

P. and T. sixty that just shows how he develops his relationship with sick kids the guy is as good of a guide you can find in the NFL these all these all the great things that go on in the NFL like a the prime example of that so you would think there's a nice moment frames got his gloves whatever some guy comes up to an aspen for gloves and go short for the charity I would actually do that because all you can sign for you to sign the gloves gives the gloves to this guy he doesn't recognize his media members not someone covered the team every single week button given the gloves next thing you know he's alerted that these gloves are on eBay so dissed sleaze ball jerk face loser goes in there takes the gloves from one of the best guys in the NFL all eyes to his face about them going to a charity and then put them up on eBay well maybe get more money on eBay for the auction for the charity now now it's not only John he pocketed that mon all right it is there's no doubt about who would definitely say that this guy is on the hamster wheel of **** fall yeah without a doubt without question he might be the wheel itself yeah so I I really there's a good end of the story some Vikings fan in New Jersey bought the gloves and said that he's now going to buy something with all St find out who this guy is that sold a lot

NFL explains why there was no pass interference called on play that eliminated Saints

"We're going to. We're going to make football show because that's what people like over the weekend. Everybody who listens to this show presumably watched all of the football games or most of all of the football guess. He missed the playoffs playoff in Hawaii. The yes I missed that one Justin Thomas I saw this morning. I thought it was really nice but I missed it last last night because it came on pretty late We're going to do you because the ratings of the NFL up all across the board because the interest in the NFL is up all across the board and because each of those those games was quite interesting in its own way including terrible terrible. Coaching decisions by both coaches in the Houston Buffalo Game. We're going to talk about out this for an extended period of time in the first segment. Michael Wilbon will join us in second segment. We're GONNA limit news and go right to old guy where we're going to talk about the Golden Globes and the matchups for next week. That's what we're going to the show probably the same length. But I WANNA do it if you don't mind I WANNA do it that way also. WanNa thank Clarendon Tola for Baking Cooke's for Claire Gary Braun Chris Cillizza Michael Kornheiser Nigel. Who has nothing to do except for on the boards because we're not sleep keeps pressing one button? So He's been news cancelled forever now just today. If you don't mind especially the best thing is not gonNa work out just I you know I'm old and I thought why not like Michael said to me last night we were talking about the possibility of of Michael. Are you shaking your head. You don't want me to. Would you go ahead down the fourth wall. People talking about Mike Lees. I won't share this on air dead. Yeah go ahead Michael Says Cillizza how how do we get rid of him. Nicely to the change in the show today. I let's start. Let's start with yesterday's which is going to go backwards. I'm just can start with the Minnesota game because of all the games the end result of that game is the most surprises so like I said on the PTI show on Friday. I'll take Tennessee. Plus Five Live and a half all day and all night doesn't mean I think they're gonNA win. I'm GONNA take those points New Orleans. Losing at home in overtime to Minnesota is stunning drew. BREES did not have a great game he had a very bad fumble in drive. That could have changed in the fourth quarter changed. Everything around. He got picked never gets picked. I mean he did not have a great game. There are three quarterbacks forty years old and up over the weekend and they all lost. We'll get to that but even with brees not having a great game. They tied the game. They got into overtime there at home and they yielded the first drive. That's it see around. see you around Kirk cousins who. I am extraordinarily critical of on a regular basis was very good and kirk cousins to Adam Adam field and had to make up for fumble early. You know but I don't feel did that pass. That wins the game. Now there's a third downplay because what you don't want to do is have to kick a field goal because because you don't want to give New Orleans the ball on the one. Yeah you don't WanNa do that. On the third downplay they go in the left. Hand top corner of the end zone to Kyle Rudolph is about twelve aid aide just like that and by the way quickly give cousins credit. That was a terrible snap. The snap his way to his right he basically knocks it with his right hand. Quickly gathers it because you it's all timing and throws a faith throws the fate and Rudolf reaches up. He's much taller than defender and he gets it in the process of doing that he pushes off. There's no question he pushes off. Does it rise to the level of offensive pass interference for me in a playoff game and I have to give context here. New Orleans has tragically lost in Hoon's replay off games in a row cheated in one cheated by by their own stupidity in another with defensive back and I mean I honestly either call offense a pass. Interference would have so I did not I mean I I watched the play. Did Not in real time necessarily see the wrangle back is in front of your Reina Vision Right. So they call it a touchdown a apparently appropriately to me and then you see the replay and and I did think to myself. Like oh my goodness could they. Could they possibly possibly overturn this. I mean it. And we've all seen their explanation and said there was handed both sides. It didn't rise to level pass interference. I mean I'm sorry by no objective measure to me was that not pass interference and in fact is in fact a couple hours later they called the same thing on hollister tight end from. I'm from Seattle and on much less meaningful circumstance but I mean I just felt like the league. We're getting out of the way this one. I mean there's no way every time it's the UNCANNY situational right. We know this. It's like it's like a Games are raft. Basketball game is reverend different right. The game is rough differently in the last thirty seconds than it it is and that's situationally you cannot. I don't think when I watched it and I watched the replay. He pushed off a little bit. Did it it was. It did not to me anyway. I think I disagree with you. Guys did not to me look agree. Gis I think Rudolph was bigger. The defensive back had his back this business. Being that push back. Chris Locate fully extends. I think it was his left arm. Yeah if he is allowed to do that he catches that ball. A hundred injured time. He cannot be defended. Unless you play. Just there's so many calls they show throughout the game when they every time on a pass Where not every time? Seventy percent of the time on a pattern when they show the slow motion the other guy. The the DB is has his arm wrapped around around the guy's waist or is holding. His arm gets there. I just think it's very subjective. That's fine but I agree with that but I would also agree that the saints should not be shafted million better cost the saints again. Plenty of opportunities it. Certainly when you were watching the game I ah in the flow of it and when tased him hill like in three straight plays a three-stroke they score a touchdown. Now it's twenty seventeen right gary to have that right was twenty. I needed to twenty twenty twenty seven hundred twenty and then they get back they get it back and take some hill like three times. Basically the the one where he runs to the left where it looks like. He's tackled and he spins runs for thirty arts. Well they're definitely going to win then. And then brees fumbled. I mean it was very i. I lost fumbling. The ball get hit. No sort of this is arm gets hit a little bit. I'm sorry I'm busy trying to reconstruct your show on the fly without telling you so allowed back in so so tension is good for the show is for Knuckleballer To to to tie it up. What was the forty nine yard or from lots? They're kicking it through. Yeah man that went about now three feet off the ground and easier kick at the end of the first half a ball Games kick forty something already three but that's an easier kick so that game. Let me say one other thing about that game as someone who was a kirk cousins fan when he was here. I'm not going to criticize Kirk. Cousins played fine. He was he was great in that last. Drive the drive. If they lose the haters are going to look at that stat line that would have been seventeen of twenty nine hundred and ninety yards picked and he didn't do anything bad. Oh he had a good game and the pass was just

"The touchdown to Kyle Rudolph to seal the victory Kirk cousins talk to the media and of course each and every week we hear from move the coach and the quarterback color purple post game show big thanks to Jonathan lower producer putting this stuff together for his today doing a great job and let's start with over time and they had planned put the pedal to the metal you know TI is gonna put a drive together doesn't matter how you do it I think it's gonna be makes a run and pass and yeah I think you approach it like you do any other drive knowing you you know there's a sense of urgency certainly to stay on the fielding and keep possessed a football but on the makes a run in passing displayed on offense I I felt low of that that there were a whole lot more aggressive in overtime than they were in quarter number four and there's no doubt that they were and and as we mentioned one of their late drives and regulation were New Orleans really daring the Vikings to throw and had nine guys up to the line of scrimmage and the Vikings coaches are trying to run the clock down in but at that point time you still gonna give drew Brees the ball with two minutes ago and would like to see them be more aggressive in that situation when the saints are giving them that luck and coming out in overtime a totally different situation you know that you don't want to give us new worlds ball the ball back at all and so as it all developed as it turned out the Vikings made big plays in overtime in as we said three of those were made by cousins the third one throated digs that kind of gets lost in the shuffle but that was a big play about excellence row inside the got a first down to get the drive started in Dalvin cook as a big eleven yard run and then Adams the one has the forty three are catch on a first down play in again Vikings are set up deep and then as is always the case is seems to sweat it out from there and cook it stopped for one yard in cook good stuff for three are Lawson also his third goal from the foreign you're thinking all we don't want to kick a field goal here and give the since the ball and the course the great touchdown passes to carry often even still Steve you have to worry are they gonna review what are they going to call Pat office of interfering all because there is a little bit of a hand fighting but really both both players were trying to do an ad in there and I don't think there's any way they could they could overturn that call I think that the the way the the pass interference rule has played out this year they've they've said that these place after B. agree just before they're going to call him and fortunately for the Vikings they didn't make an issue of that yeah you got a lot of these guys play football that's right it's still a physical game it's a contact game and there is gonna be incidental contact like that yeah definitely and and you go back to a week to in Green Bay when Dalvin cook is called for office of interference when they go to replay to check a touchdown catch in a pick that up and I think at that point that was one of the plays that was the impetus for it's kinda throttling back on these reviews and pass interference overturns and after that point it seemed like it had to be an unbelievable agree just play for them to to change the call the a replay very Kirk cousins visiting with the media talk about the ones big cats in overtime that set him up first and goal at the two protection held up Adam much one and the ball goes up but he makes a great catch and you know that's a that's a route I run since my rookie year and and sometimes yes sometimes you don't but it was great to connect on that one yeah there you go it on any D. ball I think that's the case Jeff you know there there's no guarantee is defensive back can make a good play but ultimately Feelin won the plight yeah he did he he got open by a step in and the ball's coming over shoulders got of it adjusts his vision and and pull the ball in and I I overall great throw great catch in that situation for sure and then under the winning touchdown in overtime once again Kerr because I feel under duress I know this covers your over the Balkans out so quick that it looks like they got home on the couple is a two hundred arrests not touchdowns today but yeah I didn't again I don't even know how much to tell you football as one can can't but he has a great play by Rudy in a one on one and he went up and grabbed it and kept his feet in which is a big challenge to make a play what's so good about that throw on third and goal it's a huge spot because I would assume the Vikes kick for the lead in overtime there's no way they go for it on fourth down so you get the win in that spot but he put it in a spot where the only player on the field you could get it was Kyle Rudolph yeah and you think back to the Dallas game of I'm just after mid season and cover up made a couple of fantastic touchdown catches in that game one handed one of the back of the end zone that was amazing and I think that there's that level of trust in him that he can come down with the ball he's got great hands he's got great agility to get his feet down and as you said through it where nobody else could make the play except for Rudolph and fortune for the Vikings he was able to corral it didn't get his feet down when the game no replay every overturned hand Beaumont to San Francisco you have to get on a plane tonight returned home good to work short week we'll have more on that coming up in a little bit Vikes forty Niners in the early game on Saturday three thirty five central time that game will be on N. B. C. from Levi's stadium alright Kirk cousins was asked he's been asked a lot in his career particularly in this time as a Viking about the big game Monday Night Football primetime games all of that Kirk any relief in winning a big game I appreciate the question but you know it I'm just thrilled the one of a playoff game you know I I just do my part we won the game today because we played great defense we got a turnover we had good special teams we great play calling it a great plan we protected we ran the football probably had thirty five forty rushing attempts there's a whole lot of reasons we won the game to the quarterback play a role in that yes but it was it was a team with Kirk cousins is done that a lot this year in in big wins in the course of a season on the way to the playoffs Jeff a quarterback is going to play a big role in all of that and I think I give the guy credit for being able to handle this sort of stuff and now he's got the win and today handled it beautifully yeah he definitely dead an offense of Lee and defensively the Vikings I'll gain the saints in the ball games it wasn't a fluke you win in that regard the they did perform today they've had the lead in the first half the at at the Babel to make the big drive in overtime when they needed to make that big drive in and so you say Hey you got it done really it in all phases of special teams of the court Manson okay they give a big kick return at the end of the first half that they were lucky that locksmiths this the field goal which prove costly to them at the end of the game that he had missed that kick in although he did come back and make the forty nine yarder with pressure on late in the ballgame it to send it to overtime but even still that that earlier mis heard Norris's fogging yeah and what's it been great this year I I heard the number I I'm not sure it's right but I thought he had made nineteen a roll up to that he had his field goal at the end of the second and all right in some like thirty thirty seven out thirty nine this season and yet Dan Bailey has has had a great season two and he had a big feel go on this ball game for forty three and continues to kick well which again bodes well going forward for this football team it is a reminder that this is a game that is really a three legged stool offense defense and special teams want to focus so much on the quarterback or what's not happening in the defense of secondary but but there's a lot of things that go into when a football game for yeah and and it kind of funny because a cousin says I appreciate the question I'm not sure he appreciated the question that must cope with because it's so much that it would be a burden for shooting his performance in big games as it maybe now I'll it'll start to subdue a little bit that now that he's won their first playoff game and they don't get as I said bigger than playoff games yeah and it's not a Monday Night Football game he's next Monday Night Football game they play next season Sir I don't get that inevitably but at least he's got this in the team's got this and you brought it up early in the show and I think it's worth before we hear a few more cuts from Kirk cousins here Jeff that this is a big deal for the team because they hear that stuff as well they know he's a good player you're not the NFL if you're not a good player he's got a big contract you don't get a big contract unless you've shown that you can get it done in the NFL but there's still that now you can take that off the plate when it comes to Kerr because since moving forward yeah you can it wasn't a perfect game for him he had some moments in this ballgame where he missed some open receivers route off the island digs at times but again you're going as a team that has a an excellent pass rush and it's easier said than done to say well how did you miss that receiver well I got guys bearing down on me and I got two point one seconds of throw the ball got to pick somebody out make a decision and the other a couple times we're in the ballgame that he was a little indecisive but he didn't turn it over he didn't take a sack and fumble he didn't throw an interception that was costly so those are big plays for a for a team conversely his counterpart drew Brees threw an interception dancing here's had a fumble in the ball game that was forced by the neo hunter and again those two turnovers were big and when you go into a big game in a playoff game if you say can you win the turnover battle well the Vikings won the turnover battle two to one today and won the game over time I am curious about this caught that producer Jonathan Lowe put in her cousin's post game and he was apparently asked if he has any message out there for the nonbelievers if you will you know it's it's fun to be able to to win and to feel like you know you're moving forward but my journey has always been one of you know like the book the dream giver when you climb a.

"Dalvin cook an Alexander Madison did not practice again today for the Vikings and it would seem more likely they will not play Monday night specially the rams lose tomorrow which would ensure a playoff spot for the Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph says this is a much different match up with the Packers when the two teams met in Green Bay the second week of the season were so much better football team so much better of a of an offense and we were in in week two and the basing it jumps out to me is just the opportunities that we have that we didn't take advantage of whether it's because of turnovers penalties drop balls Hey it's a hard tape to watch from start to finish but with that being said you know were fourteen weeks better but they're fourteen weeks better as well and it'll it'll be a dog fight for four quarters on Monday night yeah Packers and Vikings Monday night at U. "Slash Tomahawk. You know who didn't try to play. They Bill Belichick role because the SEGUES cow Rudolph. Let's give them a call. Wednesdays are for the players Private Chelsea this entire tower thought his Tomahawk. Aw Aw reject. Do you believe in ghosts lobby leaving home here. We go saquon one two three or more show all right now joining us here at the Tomahawk Show we have the best tied in to ever play in the NFL. Kyle Rudolph of the Minnesota Vikings in the building cow. You doing man. I'm going up there but but I appreciate it. Always talk to you guys nonsense Kyle. I listen the Vikings have been rolling. You guys are in prime position heading into the playoffs. What has been kind of the feeling in the locker room understanding which you guys have in front of you big in the NFC? You know you gotTa keep track with the forty niners. The seahawks Oxford Saints. You know for us in our division we got the packers Right there Game up on us right now so you kind of look at the landscape and how things are going to shake out It's it's important for us to go out each and every week and and keep pace and all these teams are are going on each and every week and taking care of their business and we have to the same thing Thankfully for for us we have three division games here in the month of December where it would take care of business last week at home against the Lions and I. It doesn't get any easier for us to go on the road to the chargers charter this week. Kirk cousins one of the most talked-about quarterbacks in the NFL but we're not going to talk about is play on the field right now. I need to know all about his nicknamed kid cozy. Are you buying or you sell in the nickname kid cozy for your man Kirk cousins. I had not heard that a Tomahawk. I I I like it I I'd have to sell it You can't be. You can't be called cozy and roll around in a excursion van with advertising on the side of it. That's certitude all go together. What kind of advertising does he have on the side of his van? It was the UH I can't think of the name of the company and you know I I should get a plug for him on something you could make millions. There's millions of people out there listening so if you had to come up with a nickname that was more fitting for your man Kirk cousins than Kid Cozy Z.. What would it be couldn't spotty of jail Man I mean I feel like all of the obvious ones. Orange are along the lines of his dad humor. You know if you went cozy dad or something like that or maybe like Thirty Daddy Cousin Dad the funniest nickname I've ever heard in my life and that actually does fit Kurt perfectly well. Let's let's jump back to play on the field. He went through a little bit of a tear this this year where he was balling out there even people talking about he could be in the running for. Mvp what have you seen from him. That you're like man. I I know this is a a guy that can take us to the next level. We need a team. I think the biggest thing you look at our offense in year two with Kirk and things were trying to do offensively. I believe from a schematic standpoint. Obviously it starts running the football and I would be remiss without mentioning Dobbin Cook in that category But when we're able to run the football and then we can move kirk around in the play action game and the boots and naked. That's when Kirk most comfortable Last year you know we we got ah for US offensively. We put ourselves behind the eight ball way too many times. And we gotta do a Lotta dropback passes and Joe. You can attest to this. There's nothing worse than an offense Wyman and you're protecting forty two job back passes in a game. I mean it's just It's not fair to those guys up front The rushers in this league are talented into good So for us we've been able to stay balanced and when we're balanced and we have that run pass Game going it allows Kerr to move around on and he's not always in the same spot every time. There was the ball really well on the run. I'm not Kirker. Play well this year. What's funny because you mentioned that we talked about we me and Joe when weird word in Cleveland? We had a similar situation. Just throwing the ball and like you said in the NFL. You cannot throw the ball that much in win you need balance you to keep your defense off the field. You need to help help out the guys protecting your quarterback in the past game. Davin Cook has been balling this year. And I'm sure sure. Joe Is going to follow up with some some football questions. But I have one more question before I kick it. Off About Mike Zimmer. Who is a maniac right? He's Funny Story About Mike. I was in Cincinnati. He was coordinator. I forget which linebacker we had signed that off season but he was our big names. I'm signing at the time. Seven million a year for elaborate was a lot of money and I just remember something happened. The field they run off and this is my first interaction with Mike Zimmer. Ever he pushes me out of the way to get to this linebacker and he shows him the printout and he says we paid your seven million dollars a year for this. You gotta be shitting me use out and just walked off. And I'm like Oh is that really. How coaches talk to people? So I can't imagine he's changed changed that much cowed. Do you have any good Mike Zimmer stories for me you know coaches calm down a little bit. Since it's time down there in Cincinnati born and raised in Cincinnati so all kinds of great stories when we got coach it can lead. It's been six years already but you know when you're a coach and you take over a team organization most of the time you're taking over a team because because they weren't good before you got there you have to establish your culture and your identity You know he did that early on he was tough on us. He was hard on We had at a young team so he had to kind of lay his foundation. And I feel like now we've been together for six years you look at our roster The Core Group of our roster. It has all been here for that six year tenure. And you know now you have a bunch of guys that are in year six seven eight nine ten instead of your one two three four so He's even up on us a little bit. He's not quite as hard as it used to be. really takes care of us a little more so this is your first year in what people would call the Kyle. Kyle Shanahan type offense. Both Hawk and I played four. Kyle when we were in Cleveland together and I think I can speak for both saying. That was our favorite offense that we played in everything just fit together so well the run the past the balance the way you understood why it was important for the receivers to block a certain way. Get your hat. On a certain side of the defender. Everything was detailed out out in a specific manner you played in a bunch of offenses throughout your career. How do you like this offense that you guys have this year compared to those other offenses you've played in the NFL? So you hate it when you said everything fits together so perfectly the run in the past. play action the naked I think for us we really got. What an experience of that this off? Season going against our defense You know we've always had a great barometer going then in the top five and the NFL just about every year since coach has been here and You know we know when we're going to be good ostensibly when we're having success against those guys and This off season going against them with Piss Shanahan. Kubiak offense It was like after every period. They'd join us. I think it all looks the same like we can't tell what you gather doing now. We used to be able to just pin ears back in rush the passer. Now we don't know so I think that's the biggest thing about this offense just That's why it's so important to be able to run the football because when you can run the football everything else look through fame and insisted that you had one of the better defenses in the NFL for a little while. But it's almost flipped this year. where the offense in Minnesota has played at the same level or even better than your defense at times? This year How has that been for you? Guys on offense to feel like you're you're carrying a lot of the low now and you're helping out the defense whereas in years past sometimes it felt like the defense was the thing that was carrying the the Vikings y think for us and a part of the reason why there was so much frustration early in the year. And you know obviously everybody heard all the stories coming out of Minnesota Because as we feel like we have so much talent on this offense and we won't. We weren't reaching our expectations and the defense has been so good around here for so long long and you know we felt like we weren't pulling our weight to help us when football and You know really from that point on week four after we lost In in Chicago You know we really start clicking. And we're we're getting the most out of each one of our guys whether it's Dalvin Stefan young receiver stepping up and Adam feelings absence Titan making big plays. It's the biggest thing for us is always felt like Ah. We've had the talent to be right up there with our defense. Like I say we go against these guys every day at practice and now we're starting to put it on tape and and go out there each and every week get make plays help our team win game. There's a lot made from a national level about the relationship with stefan digs and kirk cousins and some speculation. That's the Fawn wanted to be traded early on in the season. But it seems like that has really been tamp down and they've got a great relationship now that you guys are rolling on offense. How have you seen that relationship and Stefan's desire to be in a vikings uniform change through the course of the season? Why you guys know me play a long time the sleep when you're not winning football games you know guys are frustrated and and I have nothing to do with I've never met a wide receiver. That's any good that doesn't want to football Everybody wants to football. You WanNa make plays you want to help your team win. And we weren't winning games. We started the season in two and two. And that's certainly not where any of us thought we'd be through four games I think that was the biggest thing early. Everybody from the outside all these frustrations rations and personality shining through and it was just frustration. We we weren't living up to expectations and then As you guys know winning seems to cure all all in this league so When we started winning football games and you guys were able to make ways to help our team win games All that kind of goes by the wayside. I now it's time for some hard hitting questions. Kyle you're a Cincinnati kid born and raised A lot of memories from growing up watching the bengals. I'm sure probably a Lotta sad memories depending on exactly thank you Pinpoint their big question. My take is Andy Dalton as a better bengals career than Carson Palmer more if you had if I had to pick one quarterback for the bengals and I grew up a bengals fan too. 'cause my brother played from ninety eight two thousand four I'm taking Andy over Carson years. Cincinnati Kid am I an idiot or do you agree. I think there's a couple of different takes using go on that one and you know so for me Carson was there towards Like the end of my elementary school and high school I remember being a sophomore and that was when Carson Tours ACO go against the steelers in that playoff.

"We're on me because my mind would just be so boggled. I can't keep stuff like that straight. I'm definitely a guy that can only think about one thing at a time. It's funny like if I'm driving the car and I start talking to my wife wife. I like naturally just start slowing down. Honey you're driving ten miles under the speed limit. Stop talking to me physically. I am the biggest man of all time. I cannot talk talk and do and think about something else. It's pathetic well. Here's the thing about traveling with me over the last three years. I've probably taking. This is not an exaggeration. Fifty plus trips where I fly across the country and you sit in less than twenty four hours and I fly back across the country. Donovan seen travel so now I'm so used to it that it's normal so I literally landed in New York this morning and I'll be back in la by late tonight it pro. It affects ex- me. I'm sure like at the end of my life at some point. It's probably taking a day off every time I do that but now I'm so used to doing it really doesn't will. Do you like to travel. Obviously yes me if I liked it and I give you my answer which was shitty but yeah. Do you enjoy that part of your job. You're so busy doing so many different things. I'm just just a little trump and I have such a small little bite at the media apple right now. I barely travel compared to you. Yeah I do like travelling. I don't aw like traveling as much as I do. But now that's no high like to travel but you don't like traveling as much as you do. Yes so if it was like in in smaller increments so you're answering the same added where you would like it. If it wasn't well let me tell you this. I wish I didn't travel as much as I do now. You don't travel travel a lot now. I did the same thing last. Tuesday like our audio engineer was also audio engineer. For the same thing I did last Tuesday Tuesday and it was in New York City in New York. City in Manhattan. I was here for thirteen hours. WE'RE RIGHT BACK TO LA. I'd do it in Atlanta. I've done it in fluent Buna phone Miami and right back I'll tell you what I like about travel is because I'm such a Foodie. I'm like the biggest food nerd I just love to eat and so the thing that I love the most about traveling in about the Thursday night Gig is were in a different city and I usually try to find out you know. What is this city known for? What do they really really do? A good job of and go nice restaurant And sort of enjoy the culinary scene there and so we were in New York City last night with some friends brands and we went to catch steakhouse which is like this. New Steakhouse. Somewhere in Manhattan. I have no idea I have no idea where it is. But it's fancy and my financial adviser paid for its Of course I racked up huge bill eating all the best steaks but it was like a really awesome dining experience. Now they didn't have Moundou on the menu and they had no. It's a so called me. I know you wouldn't have known. But what do you love about traveling making money. Well that works. Because that's the only reason I do it. And that's why I fly back so could because I travel so much travel because I make money trevor. Well travel so much. If I don't go right back I would never see my kids so I have to like. That's the only way I could swing. Swing is where like. Hey It's it's essentially doing a long workday babe. I'm GONNA go there. I'M GONNA. I'm commuting across the country. It's funny because what time is it right now. We're long workdays are thirty six hours hours. Yeah it's one fifty three right now. I haven't eaten since the meal. They gave us before. We taped total access yesterday. which was that so we would want to eight fifteen? We had a mill at five. Thirty is this. I was the last time I've eaten ten-day cut last summer. Where you were able to lose away traveling and you stop eating exactly? Yeah haven't so I don't do it for the food also catch has an incredible toxic. I had news for telling telling me. Now Yep me me. And the wife went to catch on New Year's here in New York last two years and we get the Tomahawk steak so outside of the financial benefit of traveling. Is there anything else you you enjoy about it like frequent flyer miles. You can take your kids on a Nice Disney vacation yet. No the off season. There's there's nothing else it's it's it's bought at the bottom online business and I don't leave the United States. Do they give you one of those little boosters for your feet so your feet. Don't dangle first-class I'm usually in the middle in the back of the plane both ways. You can't tell me that NFL network and uninterrupted. Don't put you in first class or you just such a small person that they figure they can save a little bit of money and you know the difference. Well that's just my personality anyway. Not that I don't care but I'm not like the. Hey I need to be first class travel. I'm not it doesn't I did it last night because I I did and there was no way I would get any sleep. Yeah those are real tough. It's funny because in the NFL. I mean we travel a lot during the season for you. Don't notice it but you don't notice it's like twenty four hours and it's only in your on. A chartered plane. Right in everything is like the elements are so controlled around you. It's like a you get one hour nap in a chair. That's basically what it is. You show your bag you walk right onto the plane you throw your little handbag you had the Louis Vuitton Cabela's is Travel suitcase that would throw in the overhead compartment camouflage and then you close your eyes for an hour and then most the travel from Cleveland was short because you're pretty close to all those NFL cities and so it's easy then you get there and you go to your hotel room you maybe watch a little college football. You've got your meetings in your dinner and then you go to bed you wake up the next morning you go to the stadium. Play the game and as soon as the game's over your home within an hour or after the game plus whatever the travel time is if you play in. Let's say Baltimore. It's an hour after the game. You're on the bus going to the airport and then soon as you get to the airport. Everybody loads up the plane and your home in an hour so within two and a half hours after the game in Baltimore. I'm home in my bed already already. So it doesn't really. I feel like travel when you have to travel with normies like we're traveling now you know with NFL network uninterrupted the Gen pop all these people that have to suffer offer through regular travel fly privately. Look tell me this. What was your least favorite city to travel to so it was a combination a tie between Detroit and Pittsburgh and had nothing to do with the city itself but it had to do with the fact that we had to the boss there so oh for whatever reason logistically it would take more time if we got on a plane and flew to Pittsburgh because the Pittsburgh airport is Super Far Away from downtown right right you may know this being a western? PA Guy. But I've never flown into Pittsburg airport. We always just got on the bus and drove like two and a half hours and most people think Oh bus drive is not that bad but when you're a big guy. Those coach bus seats are actually really small uncomfortable. And I'm so long that I can't sit regular so the only way I can. If it is a seats is the kind of go diagonal which would always jack up my back and my neck and so at the end of every one of those trips it was just a nightmare you can imagine playing a football game on a Sunday and then getting shoehorned into a coach bus for two and a half three hour. Ride as soon as you're done with that you feel like you've been shoved into a suitcase for a month off and you can barely stand up and you Kinda hobble off the plane and then you and I would go right into the chamber to try to heal ourselves. which hello yeah but Detroit? Detroit was the same issue and so I just hated those bus trips. What about this freshly home? The train was awesome. You'd like to try to train so the year we had. Mike Patton We went and practiced against the buffalo bills and upstate New York and we took the train from Cleveland because it was kind of a fun experience they thought it would be an actually really liked it because those train cars they amtrak cars are very comfortable. They're very large. And roomy you can look out the window. We got a chance that you know share share some time with your brothers with your friends on the team. I thought it was really cool. Actually I know some of the guys hated it but for me looking out the train window. I just have like a part of me. That's an old old soul and I really kind of enjoyed that. I do like the trade. I'd like drinks and coach bus seats first class seats to me. So I don't really don't give it's all the same I'm actually taking the train on Wednesday because I'm going to go from New York City to Baltimore for the Thursday night game which is the Baltimore Ravens versus the jets so instead instead of flying from New York to Baltimore just take the train. It's going to be a great little trip. His man if I can find out how to get to the train station and get on the right train. It's because it's not something you you do all the time learning curve. I feel like I'm that old person that's going to the airport for the first time in thirty years and I'm going to be there like four hours before my flight all nervous this 'cause I don't know how everything goes. That would be taking my shoes off when I shouldn't yeah it's GonNa be embarrassing. Yeah the train. They might leave early. Okay definitely GONNA be there for hours take the but the thing is if you can make it you just gotTa be there before he leaves and you can get on. It's not like the guy running after it like throwing my bag over the top and trying to get in the door us us about a open. The door right my favorite part of traveling. Not My favorite part. But it's just a story so we always. I didn't ask that question by the way. Thank you that's your media chops. We will get per diem every time we traveled. So that as you get on the planet like the per diem that was they would give you an enable over money. How much would it be would thirty seven? It was always weird because you like a twenty five a couple of singles and what we like to to do. Is this the story. Because I'm GonNa say I'd used to cheat okay. So the quick version is thirty. Seven dollars in envelope is bad news for an NFL player. Because what we want to do with the first thing we wanna do is gambled away dollars. Who spends cash anyway anymore? You're spending credit card so you either want to walk off that plane.

"Welcome to the Tomahawk Show Ladies and gentlemen episode one hundred and something or another other. I know that because we celebrate one hundred episode a couple of weeks ago so here we are and this is a special treat because not very often demand. Joe Actually get to sit beside each together and do the show. And that's where we're at. We're in a hotel room right now. In New York City in Manhattan in mid town we are about a foot apart from each other. Joe How you doing man. I'm doing amazing and I feel like it's my duty as your co host as your Batman to your my robin absolutely To let everybody know that you are absolutely the hardest working man in media because you told me about your schedule yesterday. which was insane then? You went right from total access jumped on a plane took a red here to New York City as soon as you landed. I think you walked from Laguardia into Manhattan You with me here in Midtown to sit in my hotel room on my couch and you. You don't sound like you haven't slept in two days which you haven't and that's amazing and that's a credit to your genetics. Because hard work pays plays no part in this well. It's funny funny because if you don't see that I'm tired you don't see the effects that means it's burning inside so pay off right now. And and you're sweating out a yellowish substance that clearly. I'm hoping it's mound doing it's not some type of disease embiid infected with in the subways. Exactly so I'm in New York last minute. Trip to host kneading dough are video series over uninterrupted. I'll be interviewing the man. The myth the legend. Maverick Carter and my hotel will happen to be point. Four miles away from Joe's hotel who was in New York City to celebrate his thirteenth hall of fame induction now on the last calendar year. What are you going into this time? So this is a baby one. This is a made up by myself. Okay College Football Hall of Fame Name. It's the one you're going to be inducted into next year for that. Great career that you had at Toledo lot of receivers in this class At least one that I can. Think of Torry Holt. Yes Oh that was a big one he went to. NC State Awesome. And I'll be sure to tell him that tonight so we had the little luncheon this morning and then we have a a little break so of course. What do you do on a break in between a hall of fame luncheon and the actual induction? You get together with your man Hawk and do some podcasting in your hotel room Like a couple of creeps creeps and So we're up here. But the the best part of the luncheon so far was rocket ishmail Notre Dame Great L. Columbia Rate Eight. NFL Great College Player told us the story of how he got the nickname rocket and it was absolutely fricking hilarious. He wanted to go Toledo instead of not. They wanted to be a Toledo rocket. They wouldn't offer him right and so he decided to take the money and run and go to Notre Dame they had a billion dollar check on the table for him when he was being in recruited Well no it was. It was actually really funny because he gave this great story about how his track coach in seventh grade. talked like the penguin from Batman and he put a dollar on the track and he was trying to tell everybody how you're supposed to come out of the blocks low and if you're low enough during the drive I t's you'll be able to reach down and grab the dollar and rocket Ishmael was like man. I was so poor at that time I needed a dollar so bad so I was the only one in the class who could come Out Fast Enough and low enough and I got the dollar and this coach started going off about man you got shut out of the box like a rocket and he said from that point on on his nickname was rocket and he still to this day he introduces himself as a rocket ishmail. That's part of. It was because his track coach. Couldn't see Raggi which I think his his actual given name works out better for everybody everybody one and never really wanted that and he didn't lose any eligibility by his track coach paying him a dollar that was a nice way to circumvent the NCAA. And here he is College Football College Football Hall of fame. Lot of other great names that are in this class. Vince Vince. Young London Fletcher Cleveland's finest one of the greatest people and players in NFL history very deserving making the college football Cleveland Brown quarterback great vince young former grape. Cliven browner. Yes that's exactly right. He had a cup of coffee with me. and Cleveland didn't get get to make the Jersey though because he never actually played the game with a practice guy in Cleveland. That was the year that I came and the off season of two thousand fourteen and there was one time you know. He's back there. He's passing he takes off running and I'm like Oh. This is vince young and he went to Juke. Somebody and put a foot in the ground and it looked like his hip popped outta place. And that's when I knew okay. This isn't like this is the hall of fame this remember from the Rose Bowl running pitcairn's defense Pete Carroll. Bob Wiley would offer. It's funny because okay so rocket get Ishmail rocket we talked about Toledo. Can you guess how many college receiving yards ahead you or rocket me now rocket. Oh good game. 'cause I'm going into the college football hall five hundred or something like that. Maybe you know if you had. Let's say five hundred your sophomore year thousand your junior and senior years. That would be my guess. Yes so no. Of course a receiver would know exactly what his stats. I'm running around six hundred thirty two yards career. It's my entire wonder eh drafted short slow stats. So it's funny because everyone's like Oh you didn't do anything in the League. You only had three thousand yards a pro. That was the most yards. I got better like my college. DADS are better than my high. Let's go down like one hundred and seventy five career receiving yards in high school and college and more than morning. NFL So what you're you're seeing is you're lazy also in college because saving my fewer saving yourself bigger and better things I was like. I don't want to blow it on now. Wait till I actually get paid for it. I wouldn't want to actually have yards against these MAC opponents significantly more talented them. Even the guys who had four thousand yards in a MAC didn't make it to the League. So what did that you know. It probably Bobby says a lot more about the guy. Throwing the Football Bruce Greg Koska shows you are the reason I'm not a hard was not in the college football fame in this classes going next year. But you're also the reason that Hawk didn't get drafted so you want to send a check to the Andrew Hawkins Family Foundation Los Angeles California. He lives in those mansions right next to the Lebron. So make sure knee oprah five million dollar check that a s a p. Yeah man so Tory Hole. This is why Tori owes me money around that same time in my quest to have more than six hundred thirty two career receiving yards in college. I now I the thing I wanted to be good man. I wanted to be great. I wanted to have a leg up. You know so I was up late one night in college. All my friends are probably out partying. It was like like twelve. Am and I see this. INFOMERCIAL for Torry Holt. And he's like an infomercial. He had a infamous look it up on Youtube. It has to be there and it's like we so unless how much you want to know what it takes to be the best I will let your. I will show you receivers how to be the best how to get the most out of their ability. I'm an NFL. Why receiver near its techniques? That gives you an advantage. I'm like hell. Yeah what all it at Torrey. So you know I'm in college ought to have zero dollars right. I probably have forty bucks in my must not have been good at coming out of the blocks or your coach would have given you a came out high everytime missed every buck so I take twenty nine ninety nine of my forty six bucks in my account and I order the Tory hold dvd. Because I'm like you know what the money was like. Twenty nine ninety nine and I'm like all right. I'm going to get this and I'm GONNA train with. I'm a sophomore junior in college right so I'm trying to get like I wouldn't lead tutoring I get this. Dvd Man it was like if you were coaching receivers for a sixth grade flag football team this DVD wouldn't wouldn't have helped one of them was like what was mad about it. Make sure when you cut left to use your right foot and I'm like what you can't even cut left using but if you tried it's like when you're running in for a touchdown don't slow down. I'm like dude and I I didn't know how to return. Turn a DVD to an infomercial so aided and he owes me thirty. I'm so glad that you told me that story. 'cause I've got a few questions for tonight. One how much did it cost. Awesome produce that award winning video. I'm sure they want Oscars for that obvious. To how much money did you make. And then maybe the follow up is going to be by the way you. Oh My man Hawk twenty nine nine when I met him jokingly like him off the guy like well. He was in a real cheery mood this morning. Obviously he being inducted into the hall of fame is a big deal and so he was excited about that. So maybe this is the right time to go after Hawks Money Win Ben. Stein's money back when you said he was in an infomercial. I thought for a second. He was selling slap chops. Something like that Linguini guy that used to be on. TV remember used to wear that headset and he was sound slap chops. Guys a billionaire. Now he's probably living in Hollywood. Next to you and Oprah. I was the only slap shop in that situation for buying TV. Do you like travelling. I like traveling if I'm not doing a lot of it if I if you had to travel everyday for work or every week and It would definitely get annoying being and I would definitely miss being in that routine of being home Yes but like my Thursday Gig is nice because I travel Wednesday and I'm home on Friday and it's almost the routine of it is something that I like because I played in the. NFL always got used to that routine. And I really always enjoyed that routine And so having that as good but if you are just randomly all over the place travelling like different places different times of the week I think it would just it would totally. We're on me because my mind would just be so boggled. I can't keep stuff like that straight. I'm definitely a guy that can only think about one thing at a time. It's funny like if I'm driving the car and I start talking to my wife wife..

"But I mean, he, you know, he averaged fewer than seven points, which we categorizes bust. He averaged fewer than seven points all the way up through. Till that week sixteen game. So he wasn't. He wasn't a shirt that was like ma-. Okay. This was a shirt that would be nice. I appreciate that. Here's a Brum. Like if you really remember what happened car Rudolph. He was actually serviceable for the first month of the season. And it felt like okay Colorado's not gonna wreck my team. I can throw them out there. I know I'm not going to get Travis Kelsey numbers. But I'll I'll be all right in that tied in one area. High didn't six over the first four weeks. Yeah. And then the wheels fell off and my argument on Kyle Rudolph has always been the same argument. We've had enough years of Kyle Rudolph to know where you're at and he's a decent blocker. And because the offense coordinator switch and then wanting to get into a run first mentality. Kyle Rudolph won't you know, he won't be on my radar either. And you have to keep this in mind. Like when we when we stat these guys out on the year, and we look at the project. Action. He is involved. He's one of those near a one hundred percent snap count type of players. He will get enough receptions yards and touchdowns to being at or near the top twelve in our rankings at the end of the year. At doesn't mean that's a guy you want for fancy. That's the point of the truth up. That is why we do it twenty twentieth and the consistency. Ring he could very well. Finish as tight in one next year and be one hundred percent worthless to your Ross are you adding him to your vomit roulette out. Sure. Yeah. I mean, he's gotta be there, except I don't know that you're gonna come up. I mean, that's a low percentage of not vomit. You always wanna hit not vomit. Right. And he's got the littlest very very confused about this at the Bank. So you you spin the wheel and then you throw up. Well, no, you you spend the wheel. And then you either get vomit or not bomb it. But most of the time you get most of the time you give on it. Okay. With colorado. I don't wanna play this game. No. Is it? A hope you got you charge them for the app because I don't think it's going to be ninety nine three ninety nine. All right. Let me read some more for you David joke who was the number nine tied in with a consistency rank of seventeen Vance McDonald was number ten with all of nineteen gronk number eleven with a consistency rank of twelve number seventy five in our hearts. Evan ingram. There we go number twelve with consistency rank of six now. Explain this because he missed so much of the season. Maybe people they say, well, yeah. I mean, he's lower in the in the actual rankings because of the games he missed, but when he was playing he wasn't that bad. He busted thirty six percent of the time. One of the few guys that Boston fewer than fifty percent of the time. And he had good games at a perfect fifty five. Yeah. Now, there's some hesitation there because you do have to factor in a lot of his good games came when Odell Beckham was out allies going to be another year older. But I would draft have an Ingram ahead of almost everybody. We just mentioned, well, let me ask you this. Because we need to talk about him in the same breath. I think OJ Howard was the number thirteen so right behind Evan Ingram and finish. But consistency rank of number four, right? Seventy percent of the games. He played were good similar bus percentage. Similar great percentage, very similar years filled with injuries. Would you rather have right now, you're a dynasty owner? Would you rather? I've Evan Ingram on the roster. OJ howard. Both have question marks at the quarterback physician. Both have immense talent the question marks at the quarterback position or not near the same. One has three question marks one has one question, Mark. And I would much rather have James Winston hitch my wagon to the offense that was able to. Collectively between Jameis Winston and Ryan Fitzpatrick be top three in total team passing stats for fantasy. I I go Jay Howard is a beast of a human who's come into his own..

"You have big games for Kirk cousins. And and guys like that. But ultimately the goal for every game is to win the game going out win the game. The bears won the game fourteen two nine some people say not an impressive game. You know, what they want the game in the NFL is not easy to win yesterday half. The teams lost the bears were not one of those teams. They won the game fourteen two nine Seattle went to Levi's stadium last week and played the Niners. Guess what Seattle lost? So you know winning is the ultimate goal. And that's what the bears have been able to do bears defense. Of course is a team is is the biggest part of this team. They got another interception yesterday as daddy to Raith and picked off a pass late in the game. Which was obviously. Big. No they needed to do that. I was really interested to see how they were gonna play without Eddie Jackson and they'll probably play without Eddie Jackson. Again this coming week. I think this coming week without any Jackson. Going up against the Minnesota Vikings team that needs the win to guarantee themselves a playoff spot. This is going to be a test for Dionne Bush at Adrian Amos ammos actually had a really good game. I was looking to some of the numbers earlier and let me see here. He's not running this one. I have I had so much stuff on the game where Adrian ammos actually had a pretty decent game. Would I grab his tackle numbers for the contest? And that was good to see because Adrian, ammos, he was second on the team in tackles. Roquan Smith had nine tackles Adrian animals had eight. So he stepped up his game without Eddie Jackson being their trevathan was seven Khalil Mack had five. You only had one sack that was the roquan Smith when he came wide open. So very very important stuff. How the bears are going to play defensively playing against the Niners without very good receivers. And when the young quarterback is one thing playing defense with Kirk cousins and Adam Phelan and Stefan digs and Kyle Rudolph. That's a whole other story playing in their building. So that's gonna be real interesting to see how the bears are able to play and defend this Minnesota Vikings team three one two three three two three seven seven six. Let's get back to some baseball talk to old town Georgia on ESPN thousand eight George. It looks like betting that they're trying to force. The dodgers handle that extra clearance on the payroll, which is I think, you know. Was the master. And I think a fallback of Pollock would be fantastic. If he stays help you what do you think? Yeah. Stephen Pollock healthy is a huge huge situation. You know, if in fact, you got him you could that actually move guy like Albert, Al more. If you're going to cause I still think they're gonna have to move one of those three guys I've been saying that all off season and it hasn't happened yet. So maybe I'm wrong. But I kind of thought they would move either. Now, Mora Ishwar or a half the more. I look at it. It's not going to be Schwarzer. They love Schwarzer. He's like one of their kids one of their little kids their own kids as well. I think it would be either Hapoel more if they did grab a guy. Like Pollock that'd be a completely different story. But you you think the the Harper situation, you don't think there's any changes coming here. Do you? I really think he's he's kind of an LA kinda dude. If you know what I mean? With the hair. Coast to coast. I mean seems like the perfect fit out there. But why not force the hand if we can and try to call back. He get stronger on our end. George. Appreciate the call. The one thing that I think the cubs have gone forms aproach the season first of all they won ninety five games last year. Okay. It's not like they you know, they had an awful season. They didn't hit in the last month earlier. It didn't hit in down the stretch, and they need to figure out why. And it's so it was so much fun. Watching the ball, very rarely say this.

"If you get a chance to catch them on the call make sure you do like, I say Kyle Rudolph coming up, let's get into it here. Can't behind the glass can Brian. Sitting in there for MVP today and Eddie spaghetti. They're off though in whatever onto east case. They suppress create you'd be in here because the pick sparks Taylor's our subject that everybody's buzzing on after the game in New Orleans. How say I think it's a really disappointing fourth quarter and a game in which and I know I kind of disagree with you on the whole element of a penalty call here. And there it does change the game. But when you look at it they overcame the early pass interference call. They took the lead they had multiple chances to go up to scores. And you have a fumble by Ridley in the fourth quarter Taylor have a juju. Smith Schuster fumble. You have the fake punt call which I'm just not sure in that situation. Maybe they saw something on film. They were waiting for a lot of times special teams coaches wait for that. And there's reasons you're going for that. But they had multiple blunders the cost them that game in the fourth quarter. And. I think if you look at the saints. It's a game that they needed as well this wasn't a game where the saints just sat back and said, hey, we can win next week and still get home field. They wanted to wrap this up and beat a contender and Big Ben played awesome games. He's played. And yet they still win. That's kind of the point. That is what is vexing about all of this. Yes. The big picture is. I am not. I mean, if anybody's listening to the show for any amount of time, obviously, I have a rooting interest. And by the way, anybody who knocks me for that. What reality you live in that? I was. I would find my way in the talking about pro football for for my career. But not have any rooting interest is a little bit crazy. However, because I'm not a nine year old person. I am able to separate what I want to see happen. And what I think will happen. That's why I thought the saints. We're gonna win. That's why I said the key of the x factor in the game would be Alvin, Kamara I think on some level. He really was because that the clever little play he made it the sideline at the end of the first half really got them into field goal range, and what's the margin of victory three and the big picture for the Pittsburgh Steelers in two thousand eighteen is I've consistently said, and what I've said about the Tomlin area is it is insane kryptonite that as not just for while that's weird for a couple of years. The Steelers lost a bad teams on the road. This has been well years. This is a plague on Tomlin's coaching career. The inability consistently to go on the road and take care of business against these bump teams may well have cost them. A playoff spot and twenty eighteen and when you do have perhaps the best offense of line in the game future hall of fame or no matter what Cam Jordan, thanks at quarterback, the best wide receiver the twenty first century, plus juju Smith Schuster, plus some very nice at minimum defensive pieces. And I think that's something to not sleep on is what that defensive front has evolved into in the second half of twenty eighteen with to it and Hayward and Hargrave and T J watt. Israeli high end you can make a pretty good argument. In fact, I I think the saints are maybe the only other team you can make this argument about is the Steelers probably have the best set of lines in the entire NFL when you look at their defensive front their offense affront, who's better than that..

"He's worked with Bill musk raven north Turner, some the most respected architects and football. I think you'll become a hot name if this goes well down the stretch, but he's in a little bit of a tough spot because presumably he's under the same directions. That Defilipo was under the run game stuff. Well, let's let's talk about this game coming up Sunday against the dolphins. They'll they'll host Miami in a game that they now need if they're going to make the postseason this year. Bikings evens has been playing. Well, the last couple of weeks, it seems like they have you know, after something of a rocky start to the season, they have really returned to the kind of level that we expect them to play out this dolphins often. So I mean, they did they put up thirty four points last week granted six of them were maybe not maybe not the most, trustworthy and non fluky kind of points. But you don't think wells project well to this match that hook and lateral play. They should they should write that into the playbook. They should run that a couple times a game. I I would open with it. I would hope and I would make sure that that Kyle Rudolph is on the field. Some high put out a package that gets him for the Vikings on that. If they if if Kyle Rudolph comes onto the defensive formation they have to call that play the autumn which with it foolish for Adam gates, not to not to have that ready. They did go punch for punch with the patriots in the first half. That was that was a game where. The you know each team was putting up touchdowns is a twenty seven twenty one game and halftime before the dolphins kind of stalled out. But what where is this offense offense right now because you know, we've talked about gays a little bit, and we talked a couple of weeks ago about how he was a maybe a little over conservative on some third and long, please when they lost at Indianapolis. But y'know it's it's coming to. The point where they're going to have to make a decision on Ryan tannehill today have something to build on authencity here. I think they're a big play offense. And if they get their big plays going, then it works out for them. And if they don't then they're going to get eighteen to twenty points, and maybe winter, maybe not depending on their defense and probably not more often. So devante Parker. Kenny stills on designer shot plays which come from your running game. We've talked about. And I think it's pretty good run game. I think they're all line. "Podcast today, sleepers values. We also had the opportunity to talk to star Pro Bowl, tight end Kyle Rudolph will share that interview with you. At the end of the show, we asked him specifically what player is kind of flying into the radar for fantasy owners on that Minneapolis offense. So that will be that'll be fun. And what else do we got going on? We're gonna. We're gonna get into some of the reaction to week three of the preseason. We'll do that a little bit today and we'll give you some preseason week, three lessons tomorrow. Some conclusions we've made from notching games. The the preseason is over no starters, unless it's punishment or otherwise are looking to get traded or something play in week, four like rice freighter. There's one. There's one. Week, four, four. Yeah. I Amir Abdul is going to get a ton of work. I hear, which is he's going to get cut last work. He gets as a lion. I think he's going to be cut. He might, but we'll get into that on tomorrow's show. Today's all about a sleeper and value pick each of us will will bring one to you. These are guys that maybe we don't perfectly agree on with one another. These are not the same as the consensus sleepers in value picks that we have in the ultimate draft get, but we'll share own sleepers and values on the show today. I'm excited about these, but let's start with a quick question. What week three performance left. You scared and what left you scared because we spend the offseason talking about players, and then it's kind of like all is revealed in some respects in the preseason. You get to see. The truth about certain situations, especially in preseason week three, when starters get the opportunity to play together for an extended period of time. So Mike, what left you the most scared in week? Three. I got shook. Digital got shook by earthquake test. With my threatening you could or whatever the bills, the bills shook me to the core. They are going to be so bad, holy crap, the Buffalo Bills have me trembling, and this is mostly a call for Louis Shawn McCoy who's dealing with a sore groin. That's not. This is not what I wanna hear about shady McCoy at at this point of the fantasy football season because all he has this year. Yes, he is slippery. He is the slippery fish. So he has that gone, but all he has his volume and if his body is not ready to hold up to volume is going to be a really long disappointing fantasy football season from shady McCoy. Josh Allen had a bad start off. He was running for his life. I mean, he's just I've sacks in the first quarter. As far as I know the play calls were snap, the Josh Allen, and then he runs a diagonal towards the back right corner. We the field. I mean he was running for his life. We've highlighted and specifically Jason Moore has highlighted the Buffalo Bills offense of line decimation over the off season, and you just you're never really sure, Kim, they recover from losing all those starters so far, the answer is a resounding. No, yeah, it didn't. It did not look good and week. Three that's for sure. I'm not convinced that Josh Allen will start after peterman's performance in that game versus Allen's, which and Peterman may be the one that gets to be beat up. I I in. Okay. Let's say Peterman is the starter I'm still shook. Yeah, because that's just turnovers that are going to happen, and then they're going to have to throw the ball. It's going to be garbage time fiesta. You got scared. I, I was ultimately scared by the colts offensive line perform. Silence. Andrew luck is good..

"Jersey my purchase unity k my second year rome looking forward to drafting with it awesome i hear you're on late round tight end guys haven't talked much about kyle rudolph with kirk cousins in town i know he's big on throng to the tight end case in point with re when he was healthy in washington you see him as a late round value episode imposition thanks no yes no hundred percent he's not a late round value he's a six round pick that that's that's the problem when he he said do you see him as if he had said do you think he'll have a productive season i would have been like yeah but as late ram value i can drive traber two rows later so no let's go hypothetical than in any at fifty three for five thirty to eight last year that touchdowns are pretty much guaranteed with him but you're not going to see a season like you did two years ago right where they had no idea receivers and are all gone adam feeling sucked all those targets way truly if you look at the progression of adam phelan's carrier and how rudolph he took over that role so you're correct into you're not going back to value is an outlier year i mean if you look at his entire career that was the one year in which he actually i mean his whole career twenty six fifty three thirty twenty four forty nine and in last year fifty seven then he had the eighty three reception year so he's about touchdowns he's five six seven eight touchdowns maybe i love kyle rudolph i really do i've got him as a top five tied in this year i think he's great in the sixth round it's not the best value because of the other wider cevers running backs that you need multiple of that are much more difficult to stream off of waivers so it's one of those i guess i guess the answer the question is yes or no i'm very happy with kyle rudolph i would love to have him as my tight end he but you're correct and he's not a late round value at this point in the six yummy targets he had in eighty three reception year hundred and.
