"It's it's interesting you you mentioned earlier how it's almost like raptors fans already said their goodbyes. They saw this coming. It should have maybe should have happened earlier but now there were here. What can you tell me about what this means. For the franchise moving forward. I think this is a clear kind of signal that the raptors are moving towards a rebuilding period. And i think when you look at the twenty thousand championship team. There's only a few players that are left from there. You know you think about the last time. The raptors played in toronto which was in february. Twenty twenty you know since then we've said goodbye to call our we. We said goodbye. To norman powell. We said goodbye to surgery. Baca and market seoul. This is a clear signal that you know. One era of raptors basketball has ended. And you know what this next era will be Remains to be seen you know. The raptors have a handful of exciting young players. You know the recent first round draft. Pick scotty barnes. They've obviously got fred. They've got pascal. Siachen ogen and obi but after that the the roster is full of question marks. So it's gonna be interesting to see what this team does. It might take a year or two to replenish the roster but then again you know under under masai jury the raptors have always had something up their sleeves. They've always come up with a few surprising things. So who knows. Maybe i'm talking to you in two weeks about the raptors trading for damian lillard. Who knows something like that. It's it's funny because it's like you're expecting maybe like growing pains a couple of years or maybe it'll just find a way to retool on the fly and be remain competitive in that in that eastern conference Sticking with lowry as far as his career and his legacy. What does that mean. he's thirty. I think i believe he's thirty. Five years old moving to miami at this stage of his career. What does it mean for him in. What do you expect you know. I i think kyle brealey wants to win a second championship. I think he's already established himself enough in terms of all star appearances the nba championship in two thousand. Nineteen as a hall of fame player when he retires. But you know. I think he knows very well that a second championship will alter him into kind of this next year. You know when you're talking about all time point guards and he's going to a situation in miami where they're going to have a contending team you know. They were also just in the finals two seasons ago. And you know they've got jimmy butler and they've got a really talented young center in bam a bio and you know calories one of those players like we talked about you. Put them on the floor with any players and he's going to raise the ceiling of that team and he's going to do exactly that in miami i'll just ask you straight up. Is kyle the greatest raptor of all time. Yeah you know that's a clear answer you know. It's a yes for me. You know. I think vince carter. Is the name that comes up a lot and you know i. I grew up watching vince. Carter and i understand the impact. That vince carter not only had to the team but just to basketball. But when you look at you know the longevity and just the amount he has contributed and built this franchise and sent it to a completely other level than than you know anyone can ever remember. 'cause i'm sure a lot of people listening remember when the raptors were just a footnote and an afterthought here in toronto and they're not that any longer so it's clear that colleagues the greatest of all time in an all out of fans have anointed him that they've rightly done that to me. It's almost like a check of if you're a real raptors fan. You know if you think. I'll isn't the greatest of all time. Then then i need to know how much raptors basketball you've watched. It's funny you say that. Because i grew up a huge vince carter fan. He's the reason why started watching basketball But i was just having this conversation with my brother and he was like vince was huge. But kyle lowry one. That's that's that's. That's the big difference. Because kyle lowry completed his story in toronto. Right like how lowery didn't just come here and you know had some great years and left. He came here. He grew into an all star player and most importantly like you said he won a championship for sure for sure well a great career and end of an era for raptors basketball.

You get your podcasts. You mentioned lowery's leadership And one thing that comes to mind for me. Is that moment at the end of game. Six when the raptors clinch the championship and that confrontation between messiah jury and the security guard. And what happened after a with. Kyle lowry can you. Can you kind of walk me through that moment. Yeah you know as as a clock winding down in the raptors were about to clinch their first championship massage. Trying to get on the court and you know. One of the security officers in oakland at oracle arena Basically got into a physical confrontation with masai and you know shoved him a few times. Even though messiah was trying to show his credential to get on the court and you know this was obviously a very disappointing moment And and really to be honest devastating because this was like the height of massages career. You know having just built this championship team watches team when it all annual cal. Cal really had no idea what was going on obviously right at that moment but he saw assign he grabbed them. And they embraced. It's a very iconic and memorable moment from that night because when you think about the relationship between column asai you know to to put it nicely. It's been up and down. You know over the nine years that he's been here in toronto. You know when coffers got here you know. Masai sat down with colin challenged him and told him you know. Do you wanna be journeyman point guard. Who gets traded four or five times in your career or do you want to become an all star and you know there's also a lot of hard feelings. After masai traded cows best friend damore derosa was very open. This summer about feeling betrayed. You feel betrayed. Felt betrayed because he felt betrayed it. Because that's my guys my best friend. So yeah i felt some type of way you know Colin messiah famously. Didn't talk to each other for several months probably longer than that. And that was during the championship season. There was a lot of kind of uncertainty intention in the air to start and for all to culminate and end with a championship and for them to kinda share that that embrace on the court You know. I think it was just such a great moment and really showed the growth and the evolution of of their relationship over the nine years. Yeah and one thing about larry that stands out off the court alexy's You know he went to philadelphia any marched for the black lives matter movement. And he's been very vocal about that issue on and off. The court nurse said that he thought that the star spangled banner and oh canada should be treated as one long song and you all note for both what went into that decision. And what were your emotions as you were doing that. Honestly think about it. You know. I was on my knee for over. Four minutes into a police officer could do for eight minutes and forty six seconds. doc rivers. Sit at about two minutes. And i was done in for eight and i didn't my tile and As a sad moment can you tell me about the role he played there you know. I think kyle's always been one of the more prominent voices in the nba. And sometimes you know when it comes to social justice issues. I think a lot of major professional sports leagues like to just attach one or two Familiar faces to it. But you know 'cause obviously done a lot of work you know behind the scenes in philadelphia and just speaking out in kabul was also one of the members of the players association and he was instrumental in just organizing The nba bubble when the league shut down to figure out a way to to bring the league back so looking out for fellow players through his role at the players association. So he's had his hands in all those things and he's been around long enough where he had been around long enough with the raptors To kind of be a sort of a mentor. I guess to the younger players. Can you tell me a bit about the effect. He had in the locker room when it comes to grooming some of the younger players on that team. Yeah you know. I think you all you have to do is look at a player like fred vanfleet. You know. he he came in and was undrafted. And fred has talked so much about just the influence of not just playing alongside kyle but being able to pick house brain about what. It's like to be an nba pro came into camp. Cow did no need from eight. You know he showed me respect also demand respecting so we wanna time. I day at camp. I thought i was trying to get to the gym. Early cow had been in there for hour and a half at dan. You know he comes up to me and says you'll hear roof carried his back for me and like my art shit. I'm an mba carry. Carry all your bags if you want me to. That's the thing about kyle. Is that even though he is leaving. And he's joining the miami heat even for this next era of raptors basketball. You're going to see cows fingerprints all over it as well in pascal in ojanen and obi Those are the players that have learned so much you know having spent the past few years with kyle so you know i think i think the one example i would always use is is relatively and you look at the player that he's become i think everybody's looking to him now to.

"You know we've touched on calorie the basketball player But talk about the person The human being. He's really really loved by the team. And by my canada really Can you tell me what is it about him. That makes him so lovable. Yeah you know. I think cows one of those one of those guys who's really prickly to his superiors you know whether it's coaches or even general manager. It's been well documented that you know he's had some ups and downs with messiah jury but he's beloved by his teammates and he's beloved by fans because i think he never makes anything about himself whether it's on the corner off the court you know he does a lot of stuff off the court with you know sick kids hospital you know. Thanksgiving food drives a lot of those things in the community. You know that's entrenched him with the city of toronto and one of the best examples. I can give to really describe cholera. Is you know. During the twenty twenty season there was a regular season game with the raptors came back from thirty points down to the dallas mavericks in the second half and an kyle. Lowry was instrumental. Like he was the engine for for that. One of the most remarkable comebacks not just in raptors history but just league history and after the game when they asked him about his performance. He never answered a single question and talked about himself. All he did was he praise on his teammates. Even though everybody in the room knew that it was kyle who was responsible for this comeback. Tuesday is ron gay and chris boucher I give them all the credit today. They won that game. Give those guys credit seriously. And that's what kyle has always been like. He's always talked about wanting a young players to develop wanting them to get paid and wanting the best for his teammates. And you know to me you know. I think sometimes in sports maybe we overrate terms like leadership and like intangibles. But for me call really brought those things and he didn't just bring those things but he was also a great player and combined that made him who he was. I grew from immature kid trying to find his way man. Why everybody this that and the other two are are how to help this young get better. How do i help You know this this guy get paid. How do i you know. He's a pretty serious dude on on the basketball court like he's a he's a intense competitor but he's also pretty funny guy as well Wonder if you can tell me or give me some of your favorite funniest calorie moments in toronto. Yeah you know it's funny. You know. I think i think if people just google kalari demar derozan on youtube. You'll see a lot of just funny. Interactions between them. I'll go based off. You know these days. It's not like i gotta have the mindset of go out there and you know. I got score thirty forty points. I go out there and play aggressive thirty-seven what you mean. I didn't go out there saying. Let me score the dirty tonight. But i say got thirty seven. Say what i'm saying. I didn't go out there and you can't say that you had thirty seven. Listen what i'm trying to explain. Obviously they were great friends one of the things that actually you know i always want to point people to is just the pre game routine that he used to do when he played at home as scotiabank arena you know when when the lights would dim at the arena. And and the pa announcer would introduce the starters. Kyle.

"Wanna take a step back to going back to before Calorie arrived and became a toronto raptor. What was the state of the franchise at that time. And can you tell me a bit. About how lowry change that. Yes so you know at the time. Bryan colangelo was the general manager. So this was before just before masai jerry came and this was a few years after chris. Bosh had left toronto in free agency and gone to miami to to team up and win two championships with lebron james and to in weight. And if we go back before. Chris bosh it was a dark period after the raptors had traded. Vince carter who requested out of toronto to go to new jersey. So you're talking about probably a decade of reno raptors basketball on the pos. Vince carter era where they made the playoffs. A few times were eliminated in the first round but clearly. Just we're not in the conversation in the nba. They were just not a relevant franchise. And you know cal came here and obviously there was a series of other moves to you know. I think we can't talk about this era without mentioning dhamar rosen's impact as well but once colin damara was here. You know they turned the raptors along with head coach. doing casey. Into a winning program coincidence the rappers. Greatest years coincided with kyle lower on the floor and you know messiah juries arrival helped with that. You know the all star game came here. They got a new practice facility And the raptors just became a more credible franchise and they started to win behind. Kyle and demars well and if you jump forward now nine years after Arrived here people around the league. Talk about the raptors as one of the most respected organizations and kyle lowry's fingerprints are all over that and it just felt like it was a gradual process. I don't have the exact years in my head but it felt like they would make the playoffs losing a first round to brooklyn for example when they have kevin garnett if leading up to that championship. It was just a gradual process of the rapper rafters. Getting just a little bit better every year. Yeah and then you know. There was a lot of heartbreak along the way. Like you mentioned you know getting swept in the first round by the washington wizards losing to lebron james in what seemed like you know every single year and you know it seemed like the raptors had really reached a ceiling in terms of what they had built and obviously the trade for kawhi leonard. Really push them over the top. But you know for me. The twenty nineteen championship. Run will obviously be about kawhi but for me. It's always about calorie. Because he represented the journey of these raptors. You know he had been criticized leading up to the twenty nineteen playoff run about his up and down performances in the playoffs. You know there was one series when they played against the miami heat. Where you know. He was in such a shooting slump. That after a game one loss he went back onto the court to get shots up after a playoff game. Which is something that you just never saw before you know from from players and you know for him to have the performance that he had in two thousand nineteen during the championship bronze score the first eleven points in the.

"Alex. Welcome back the front burner. Hey so alex. We thought this was going to happen earlier this year. But it didn't Now that we're here tell me. What was your reaction when you first heard the news. That kyle lowry was traded. Yeah you know. I think i think you brought up a really good point in terms of you know in march at the trade deadline. There was the expectation calorie was going to be traded and so to me to be honest. My personal reaction was You know this. This was something that was expected you know. I think that the raptors are on a particular time line right now coming off a championship. Two years ago there now rebuilding their roster and kyle's at appointed his career where he's only really got maybe four to five years left and he wants to maximize those years and have an opportunity to win a championship and earned the most money. And when you look at those two factors i think the raptors were were never going to beat out The other teams and you know it seemed like half of the nba was was vying for kyle services as they should be because he's still playing at a very high level so hearing the news that he was going to miami honestly was was not a surprise and i feel like myself in a lot of other people in toronto. We already said our goodbyes to to colin march will the tires. It's runner-up as that. If i'm here if i i will retire. That's runner after you know that one day contract whatever happens so for people that are listening who might not know or understand the the impact that kyle lowry had. Can you tell me a bit about what he means to the raptors into raptors fans. Yeah so you know. I think on the court you know. Cows always been one of the most underrated point guards in the league. You know his his numbers when you look at counting stats might not stand out but you know you talk to anybody who's ever played with him or against him you know. He is one of the best leaders in the nba's he's one of the best point guards you know the statistics back it up basically during calls nine years here regardless of which other four players that you put on the floor you know the raptors were always a winning team. The raptors were always in contention. They always want around fifty games every season. And that was all because of kyle. And you know i think when you look at cowes overall impact to think about where the raptors were when he came here. And then you think about where kyle was in his career when he came here. He wasn't this all star point guard this championship point guard. I think it's everybody's first time when they get traded It's like okay. Wow i've been traded high cool you know it takes a couple of days to actually realize okay. I'm new opportunities new place. New new chapter in a book go. You know he had bounced around. He had bud heads with some coaches. And he butt heads with coaches here too but you know he had this reputation of just being this journeyman point guard and he grew into a champion here in toronto and he lifted the raptors franchise to heights that they've never been before a young guy from north filling all kinds of questions about them. Not tall enough not fast. Enough not athlete. How does he become an nba champion. Our work never never saying anybody never let nobody tell. You can't do something special and Disagreed guber guys man he. I can't really think right now. This is crazy is awesome toronto canada. We brought it home baby at home. You talk about his impact on the team. As far as the style of play and just just the presence he had within the team but specifically focusing on that championship that incredible championship playoff run From a few years ago can you tell me what role he played in during that run in how important he was to the team. Yeah you know. I think cow played a huge part on both ends of the floor you know. One of the most underrated parts of kalari is his defense and again. It's not just individual defense. It's just little things that he does. He's able to sniff out other teams plays. He's able to draw charges which he's most famous for. He's able to organize the rest of the team when they're on the floor and in one of the games that you know people when they look back on the championship run always talk about is game seven against the philadelphia seventy sixers and i'm sure everyone listening remembers colli. Leonard shot You know that's obviously the most iconic moment during the championship run but for basketball fans who watched the team may be closer than the casual fans. You know kyle did a lot of remarkable things in that game and throughout the championship. Run on the defensive end you know. The raptors played incredible defense in that game Especially in the fourth quarter and so.

"Lonzo ball And other players as well found new homes in the nba world here But overall lot instinct signings here a lot of a brand new contracts with the same team. Chris paul's new contract on sake chris's new contract trae young and jimmy butler as well so those guys definitely getting huge bags as they say And no those deserving so But to be honest with you in china be blunt about it. I'm questioning shays. contract is a lot to pay for on especially With someone like him you know. Obviously he's a young talented guy and everything but he hasn't really prude much. If you get what. I mean to really Get that contract. But we'll see going forward here on. We'll see if. Sam proc- can no get another superstar or another all-star cowboy player to Play alongside stay here near future but We'll see How you know Sam presi shea and other people's while the oklahoma city community Try to margaret. Oklahoma city as a destination for free agent succumb by but with that Let's get into the Second segment today's podcast. Which is going to be about The olympic so What the olympics now And talk about the medal. Count first and foremost The us leads overall medal. Count was seventy three medals china's up nex with Sixty nine and then the next Country i do not know of because it's not saying what the country is but with that The russian olympic committee. I apologize but so. Let me say i back. The usa has suddenly three. overall medals. trying has sixty nine and then The russian committee has a fifty two. And when you talk about gold medals on china has thirty two just dominating backfield on the us twenty. Four japan has nineteen look at silver. Us has twenty eight. China has twenty one Russia's twenty one and then For bronze usa twenty one russia has eighteen in china has sixteen so china dominating the gold medal slots This dominating you say that department but the overall medal count different. Us is leading in that department. But we'll see going forward on with the rest of the with somebody sports like basketball swimming. Water polo excetera. How you know those Or where those medals go but to talk about What's been going on in the olympic world While when you look at the basketball olympic world we saw kevin durant Pass connell anthony as the all time leading score in team. Usa basketball history. Anthony one of america's best olympians have was a four time olympian three time gold medal winner and had three hundred and thirty six points in his. Excuse me his olympic career Dharamshala playing in his third olympics so could have durant for that certainly bow soon that he should be proud of But when you look at the top five People newest history Or the top five scorers history number. Five's michael jordan. With two hundred fifty six denver robinson is up next with two hundred seventy lebron james's after robinson with two hundred seventy three three then comes. Anthony were three hundred thirty six and then durant sips sits up top with three hundred fifty four points so with this and i wanna take a moment to talk about this milestone everything because a lot of reporters a lot of analysts have said a lot bold statements over this and i'm here to just really some rise in a clear that up or kind of validate that etc but i'm a lot of people have been saying now that Durant has to be no the best player in the world Or the best player best basketball player in olympic history period with that New wouldn't talk about olympic basketball history. Look at you know what people have come through on the. Us olympic team. Obviously durant has to be named I if not One of the first people to be mentioned. Just because of you know His mouth cheapened on being top scorer in us olympic history. Now how has mean that. You're you're the best olympic or best. Us olympic basketball player ever if not the vessel basketball player ever but without also talking about you know what other talented people came through here like a player that is a mentioned on the top. Five scores of the us olympic. History is kobe. Bryant and kobe bryant. On when you look at the tape and what went on behind the scenes when you know you weren't watching them live when and when there are practices and everything kobe's really pushing other people in bed michael jordan and some of those other guys on a dream team. We're doing the same. But when he talked about the best. Us olympic basketball player. I think he has to be you. Know a kobe bryant or someone from that dream team like a michael jordan A magic johnson. Larry bird whatever you want whatever you wanna make it. That's your opinion. But what i'm trying to say is i don't think durant has D intensity the House is save is the The ability to go out of your comfort zone. You know what. I mean so when you go out of your become persona you're trying to quote unquote surpass your limits When i think about when i think basketball terms i think about you know how on the dream team were was were making themselves better players in a practice just like the. We're talking about practice. Mike but attended a kevin durant house. Be one of the players that is named first on one or debates. Us olympic a basketball player. But all you know. It's it's your opinion but i think that in my opinion The best us olympic basketball player has to be kobe bryant. But that's just me. But i'm moving.

"Talking about Free agency the nba draft in which kate cunningham gangrene and have a mobile at one two and three cunningham the pistons green to the rockets them. The cavs now aside. I to the loaded about free agency and talked about how russell westbrook dot traded to the los angeles lakers from the washington wizards in return the with god cow kouzmin kentavious caldwell-pope casey. Kcpt as other people know as and then mantras herrell so with that let's get into the first segment. Today's podcast which is going to be about Nba frequency just tipped off yesterday monday. The second or august second and let me tell you something as a mamie he fan. I am happy about what. Miami did infrequency. If we don't know and pretty much headline of today's podcast will be about the miami heat leading star guard a kyle lowry and Nba champion on pj tucker. Who is with the milwaukee bucks So with that omelettes from there so with the lowry. Pj took a deal with the miami heat. Faith that was a huge gap for them They obviously need some people to try to help. Build around jimmy and bam and i like these two guests for them I think are starting lineup. Now with the miami heat will be Obviously kyle lowry at the point. Position duncan robertson. Up to Jimmy at three or jimmy. The four but probably pj. Oh played four and then ban out of bile out the five then coming off the bench. Tyler harrow We'll see what we did with depot in company. Deadman resigned as well. We'll be back but overall this was a huge gift for miami free agency coming off or not this year but the bubble year coming off a nba championship. Run to then. This past season on getting swept in the first round was definitely something that law miami fans and let alone. Miami players thought that it was going to go a different way but Anyways that's it is what it is a milwaukee destroyed maiming dot series then From then on. I think miami really look at their team. Looked at you know where they can improve on in the point guard. Position was obviously one of the biggest physicians. 'em for miami to fill up obviously having goran dragic and kendrick nunn on. There wasn't really getting it done. Even though i love both of those guys a really competed throughout the year but kendrick really never got his confidence back The confidence that he gained pretty much at the start or dispute for the covert outbreak and the pandemic happened on was on a roll before that. And then i feel like that's so down with a pandemic i think he actually got cova and he was dealing with. Some personal stuff is while during the time where to bubble was still being rumored to be a thing so that really put a halt his career as did a lot of other people's while so With that a moving on here Two other big free agent targets Lonzo ball to the chicago bulls definitely something to talk about with Obviously chicago having a lot of young guys under team now. They signed guard folks career show from the los angeles lakers but now begs. The question is hand chicago. Have all of these young guys play together. Like alonzo ball. Now alex russo. But yari have a kobe. White therapy ball and out Excited to see what's zakho wien brings with. All four of these guys are three these guys. I apologize so we'll see what happens with chicago's like montreal. Said when he was with the warriors he didn't really believe that you know young guards can play together and chicago sacramento. Like i said on draft night. Those teams will are pretty much in saint. Paul i would say with Just having so many young garbage with sacramento. You have darren fox buddy healed on his drafted david mitchell on the drafted tarez halberg last year. So both of those teams have four relatively young guards. You know just starting their careers and everything. So we'll see how long those players stay with their respective franchises. But move it on here and to talk about some big contracts here starting off with chris. Paul i mean crispell got a contract of a lifetime for him. ended up Often out of his of a forty four million player option on sunday and agreed to stay with the sons with a four year deal. That could be as much as one hundred. Twenty million so as an espn told agent award. Now's he certainly a big bag to get Crisp and everything Obviously a this wasn't a big surprise in my opinion I would have a hard time seeing. Chris ball go anywhere else. Other than the phoenix suns but Chris paul is a guy that has made a lot a lot of money in his This based off of contracts and everything so when you look at you know how much money a guy like chris. Paul was made over the last X. amount of years He's been able to make over While wants his contract completes and everything he will have over. Four hundred thousand dollars made ingest contracts. So definitely something to look and say. Wow like chris. Paul is one of those guys like he. he is going to make When chris paul's done at forty you have more than four hundred and forty six million dollars from mba contracts When you look at you know what other players really compared to that Obviously bron Caviar nets up there while I forget what other players But certainly a great A great get For the phoenix suns. A much needed to get in their department in my opinion but without moving on here and talking about some other big contracts are made Say go craig's alexander Broke the bank as well. along with his Kind of younger Generational guard a class with trae young so shea. He agreed with the oklahoma city thunder to a five year. A hundred seventy two million dollar maximum rookie contract extension And then The atlanta hawks were able to agree to a deal trae on a five year. Two hundred seven million dollar designated rookie maximum extension so say and trae both got rookie. Max extensions They're relatively young guys under the age of twenty five..

"That's a solid deal with mine. He guys help me with this part of it. Because you guys are talking about joe harris joe harris if he makes shot in the second round milwaukee's not champions if he makes he's the best three point shooter in the entire sport by percentage. Get a wide open shots. Put them like up. Eight in one of those games and he missed the shot. If joe harris makes you might be talking about a different champion. The thing that i wanted to ask you is the nets. Don't actually need joe harris. Because they're three offensive. Guys are crazy. Good from all over the floor. What you guys are saying. Is you have to pay duncan robinson like that because without dunkin robinson you simply aren't going to be an elite offense. You will not be the offense. The got to the finals against the lakers. Unless you have that to space the floor. That's what you're saying it's not even just about duncan robinson. It said he's not joe harris. It's not going rate stuff. He's critical to everything. You do. Offensively well if you wanna put on jimmy butler winning that series. Okay if you wanna put on dunkin robinson. He's not the guy who deserves to be the go for for that series but in that series against milwaukee twenty four points a game one ten in game two to in game three and five and gained four. If you're three point shooter specialist is not on. It's really hard to win in today's nba. Just like you saw the brooklyn nets a mean your takeaway so far from The kyle lowry news is they're being. You had that front office background. We haven't seen the official details in this move because there are still some pieces falling into place. Potentially miami heat are still trying to maneuver their ways to get more. And that's why you haven't seen the details yet on this deal. Yeah so basically this. I think it's toronto right. We got what toronto accepts back in the deal basically is going to dictate how much miami can offer a to kyle lowry in the starting year of his contract because a sign and trade rules are because the heater operating over the cap team. There's gotta be within a certain range of the salaries that they have outgoing. So while they figure out all of that that that gives them a range of what they can actually offer them. Mike i need to ask the group because we are dominating into free agency talk. We're dominating this with miami talk. Is the nation laughing at what the heater doing. And is the nation laughing at the idea of it. Kyle lowry and jimmy butler and age is what you're going to go after the super teams of the future on and specifically a janas who just scored in a game six something that you simply don't have anywhere on the court. Is milwaukee going to club you. Again with content and four probably. I don't think that the nation right now is presently laughing at the miami because the miami or the only team giving the nation anything so far during mba free agency and they're desperate for for news. I think the new york knicks are having a an interesting off season so far We do have to. By the time habra show was kind enough to join us on vacation from the smoky mountains somewhere. So we'll we'll say goodbye. The tom and his bad internet just on the way out one more time. We'd like to remind you in the audience. How wrong you were in saying steph. Curry was possibly not going to resign. With the golden state warriors and then moments later it was reported by reputable mark stein that he is expected to resign in two thousand. Twenty two. hasn't come in yet. Mike just wanted to know has not come across the wire that steph curry has signed a purported but i- unas another note. I wanted to ask me in this before ago. Are the knicks like the most stalking horse team in the nba. Fifty four million dollars in cap space heading into this offseason. People are excited. Maybe they'll get steph Sorry forty and so. Maybe they'll get chris paul. Maybe they'll get hawaii leonard. Maybe they'll get x free agent. Are they going to be just hanging out in the cold again in free agency with all this cap space and nothing to do with it dream to have the new york next week cap space or they might have been the talking horse for chris. Paul who is just agreed to a one. Hundred and twenty million dollar deal with phoenix. I mean the the more things change more. They say the same right. Like everyone's like the knicks cavs phase. The knicks have camps maze. And you got all the main. The major targets that crispell phoenix. You got my colleagues that utah. Colorado say i will switch teams. But i'm going to ban. Lonzo boggles in chicago. Main if this is the new going rate though the miami heat just got younger with jimmy butler paying him only fifty million dollars at thirty six. If the sons are going to be paying chris. Paul forty million dollars at forty. He's gonna be forty at the end of this contract thirty million dollars then it's For years one hundred twenty nine dollars. Yes you again. At forty years old these are back loaded. So it's gonna be forty million on the back end is it not i would. I would point out that it depends on how they could structure it descending because because his starting saw his salary last year so high they could actually front-load it where the big money is now. And then you have a escalating as it goes on because that's when everybody else's contracts go up. That's how i would do it. And i think that's how they're going to do it. I know the cab guy over there. And he's a fan of these very weird structured contracts but the difference teen jimmy butler and chris. Paul is that chris. Paul is a very ground bound player. who is skilled. Who can shoot jimmy butler. A lot of his Game is physical. It's getting to the free throw line. It's being physically more dominant than his opponent. And i wonder as athleticism wayne's forum will he be able to get those steps will you be able to muster that strength especially because he's not a good shooter. Is this going to be a bad deal. For the phoenix suns ultimately see. This is more of an example of what dan was talking about. Where worry about that shit later right now. We went to the finals. We were up two zero in the finals. Bringing the band back together adds some tweaks here and there we can push right now and then later on we can worry about you know. Did we make a mistake. You wanna get cute. Say chris thanks but no thanks. He ends up somewhere else and now. You're starting back in the pack. So i in this case with dan was describing. I agree with because this is a team demonstrated. Not only were we one of the best teams all year long than regular season. We're one of the most consistent teams all throughout the playoffs and we're up to the finals. The miami heat sadly don't have that resume from last year to point to say. Yeah we're right there. We're almost there. We haven't had nearly enough funny in this premier in such serious breakdown. Go ahead tom before you get outta here you and your shitty internet and your shitty analysis and your shitty space jam jokes. Thank you know. I mean you've been on it. So why i mean getting a drink and tom. I thought i said goodbye. Ten minutes ago. I know but dan how did just tell me shit. The internet when the point was He was late because shitty internet damage. True last home from the background. It does look like he lives in glasshouse right. Get out of here mike. It's you and me. Tom get outta here with your shitty internet from the mountains. Now it's free agent if you have if you.

"And so that's one of the things the other thing is. I really feel like the mitchell thing is going to go one of two ways either. He's going to go lower than what people think. And then he turned out to be outstanding. At everybody's gonna go. What did you need to see. The guy led a national championship team. They bashed gonzaga's head in like the kid was amazing in college. And here we are. They passed on other projects or other. You know grand slam swings instead of taking that kid or there is the other scenario which is know he was twenty two playing eighteen and nineteen year olds by enlarge and a lot of elite players. That weren't even playing in college. Is cheer and yeah. He was way better than all of them. He was a frigging adult and played like an adult bull team bullied. You bullied you big time. And so how much of it is because he was so much more advanced then many of his peers in college. I don't know. I don't know i mean. Obviously look he was a dynamite player couch. There's no way around it but there don't. There's not a lot of six foot. Not big wingspan guys. That are not like is he. Run the team guy. Is he defense specialist. I guy or is he. Kyle lowry i mean. I don't know yeah it's now it's tough with age. Twenty two is old for a draft prospect. But it's also young in the developmental trajectory of like a kyle. Lowry caught alario. Twenty two wasn't the all star that we've known the past seven eight years in baton..

"It's gonna be interesting. I don't know my biggest thing is like the interest interesting. Kyle lowry to me. Makes sense from new orleans trying to get better I don't think he's this chris. Paul type of player that can elevate them to like where the were as as a championship. Contender this season. But it's certainly make them a lot better For the short term but getting there is going to be interesting yeah. I don't think they'll be that big of an issue for them to get there Several different ways to get there. Personally i don't know. I feel about lowry being on the pelicans Say that they're definitely trying to improve. They wanna hit the play offs. I i don't know that will get them there. But there's a handful of other destinations personally. Like to see larry and i. But it's a pelicans really want to get in the larry bidding. It could definitely offer him a very competitive offer. Maybe even the most. So we we talked about eric zones even adams main thing with them is i you know maybe there could be a bigger market for adam just because there are some teams. I could still use another center. But if we're just talking about a easier to move salary wise i would just be blessed mainly because next year. He only has three point. Nine million guaranteed so there is a lot more wiggle room there a little easier for teams. Take him on so right now. The pelicans they could get a proximity like fourteen. Fifteen million cap space. That's assuming that they let go of vulgar free agents including lonzo and josh heart. So that's probably not gonna be enough. Larry i imagine he'll get offers at least twenty May even more. Now if there's two salary don't wanna bless over atoms in your you basically get to roughly thirty million. So now you really. You can make very aggressive offer. Another thing they could do is stretch eric. Bledsoe since he only has that for three point nine million guarantee next year they were to stretch this off season he would only count for about four point four million over the next five seasons. I wouldn't really recommend that. Pretty against stretching for the most part for that long but that would get them there as well to like around twenty five twenty seven hill range Other than that. They're in a pretty good position to do scientists say that so maybe the raptors are interested in taking back. One bless her and adams in maybe new orleans can throw in something They have the number ten paik. Got a couple young guards. You know not saying that. I'm not trying to say that's fair value for lowry. But there's something that could definitely be worked with To make that happen. So there's there's several ways at the celtics could get lowery and definitely get him on one of the bigger offers. The you can that other teams could offer at. Yeah as far as lower goes you know. I know that he's older. I don't know if he's going to command the same level but like in minimum you talking to guy against the bare minimum. He's talking about a guy who could be worth on twenty five million dollars. You'd still have to move one of those guys and adams or blood so to get there He got thirty million and you know it was a short term deal one year deal to year. Do whatever whatever have you than. I think there's more logic behind given it to him because it's a short term deal on a given his age. That would make more sense to me. I can't really kyle..

"From three but you know we saw guys. Like joe harris and doffs towns. That are shooters get paid well. But he's obviously gonna make that much but shooters are always in demand in free agency and he is expected to cash in. I just think that he could fit. May be more into milwaukee financial structure. Right now than bobby portis. I agree definitely more realistic. Option to return between him and portis I think good chance he comes. He could end up getting via taxpayer. Mid level since his non vert is like i think three miller something or maybe even lower or or maybe like two and a half now something like that but he he started off really hot in the playoffs and then he kinda cooled off since the miami series but still shot forty forty five percents from three last year so i think this was really a great experience. Because you brought up dhabi's rutan's he was another guy who didn't really get the best opportunity with the spurs. As soon as he went to another team he got on leased and something similar happened to bryn forbes this year i think he's really being noticed now and i think a lot of teams should have interested in. We'll have interested him this summer. Options a pipe dream scenario would be that they could get back both bobby and forbes for non Even have the emily us on someone else. But you brought up joe harrison. Dhabi's burton's he's not gonna get that that offer this off season. I would be surprised if he does. But what if he came back on a one or two year deal where he's making around the the tax payer mid level which is that six million To raise more than double what he just made and then if he plays well he can get back the market and maybe earn as much as the joe. Hairs isn't dobbs batons..

"A stat the people haven't considered just a different way of looking at things and then you know, when people reach out or respite, you know, try to there's obviously going to be off, you know trolls for lack of a better word and people saying negative things, you know ignore those, but the people that are genuinely, you know asking questions are thinking in a positive way of trying to talk, you know, we're probably about five years. So I think the main thing is, you know, this has something valuable to say or at least like it New Perspective to bring to the table and I think you know, the more you do that people will start to realize that you know, maybe you have something in as long as you're you know gracious to people will you know tend to you know be interested in want to flock to more so than as you're you know, kind of dismissive so, you know.
