"Electric. And a 75 yard touchdown run in the spring game that only happened because they took well Anderson off the field. They're basically to take Williamson off the field to do anything offensively on Saturday. So he's one to watch out for. I think Jermaine Burton the transfer for Georgia is going to be their most consistent wide receiver. They got Tyler Steen an offensive tackle transfer from Vanderbilt. So and then they got Eli rix from LSU. And I don't think they're done in the portal either. In both regards, I think they're going to lose some guys to the portal after the spring probably some guys saw where they were and they stacked up on the depth chart. They'll probably be seeking other opportunities. And I think there are probably a guy or two out there that albumin needs to bolster some competition in certain places. Maybe it wide receiver. Did you not? Take maybe one of the fastest guys in college football. Wasn't he on campus this weekend? Tyler harrell from Louisville was on and it was on a visit this weekend. So I've been watching out for 2010 because receiver wasn't very good this spring. Hey, Aaron, I just want to jump in quick because you talked about peak holding before. Obviously Pete Golding was in the news, not in the favorable way with DUI a couple months ago. How much pressure, as you said, there were three three by Alabama senators down years. How much pressure is on him now there? What is the temperature like? And are you surprised that Saban has stuck by him as long as he has? Because in the past, he's had kind of a quick trigger if he felt like a coordinator wasn't doing his job. Yeah, I was surprised he was back last year. I thought there was a chance that he might end up with sarkisian and Texas. But that didn't happen. And then I think last year took some pressure off him. But you guys know how fans are the first time that they have a bad outing. My mentions are going to be filled with fire peak golden again. Just as they have been for the past four years. But I think last year took a lot of pressure off him because they were better than most people think defensively last year. The thing about much, much more improved was the run defense. They were I think a top and I think top two or three national run defense. They were the top ten overall defense nationally. So and then what they're expected to be this year. I think that took a lot of pressure off him. And I think the reason Nick statement has stuck by him is he's been a pretty good recruiter. And you know, he's, you know, make of this what you will. I do think he's the main recruiter for arch Manning, the top player in this year's recruiting class. So, and then he did a really good job last year. So that's why he came back this year. I was more surprised that he was back last year after three really subpar as you mentioned to relatively subpar performances by those algorithm defensive. I wanted to follow up on something. Last year at this time, one of the breakout stars, if you just watched their spring game, was a receiver from Florida who had some amazing catches. That receiver did very little. It seemed like God on a bunch of lists in a not of favorable way from what you adhere depending on who you talk to in Tuscaloosa. And now Jai hall is headed to Texas where he's going to reuniting with Jeff banks, who was the guy who recruited him to Alabama. He's not the only guy who has transferred from Tuscaloosa to Texas. Obviously, there's a lot of connections between those staffs. It's not just sarc, the old O line coaches with them from an Alabama Kyle flood as well as now a couple of players. If you're a Texas fan, what would you say to a Texas fan about what they are getting from? Because they know they're getting guys who've been hyped and have some athleticism. But what do you think they're getting based on what you know about what they were like in Alabama? Yeah, I think a giant hall has got some growing up to do. So it's a maturity issue, which isn't really that really out of the ordinary sometimes for athletes and sometimes a change of scenery will do them good. I think with a Jai, he had sort of put so many hurdles in his way to getting back into the good graces of coaching staff. It was going to be very difficult for that to ever happen at Alabama. For them to fully trust him. But I think having a clean slate is going to be really good for him. I think he had an opportunity late last year, you know, when John metchie got hurt in the SEC championship game and then when Jameson went down in the national championship game, there was an opportunity for all those wide receivers to step up and make plays. And a giant hall dropped a touchdown pass in that game. So he was whether it was he didn't put himself in the right mental frame to take advantage of all those reps when he should have been because he was pouting or whatever. He didn't take advantage of those opportunities. So I think going to Texas, like in the slate clean with a coaching staff, a lot of those guys who already knows is good for him. But I would be, I would be if I were Texas more excited about just a little building today. Because I think he's a mismatch type player who had a hugely disappointing season for all of them last year. He should have had he should have had it sort of on the verge of an all American tax season. I think, and he just didn't he had way too many drops. He was another player that got in the doghouse. So for several of those guys, I think it's good to go out and just have, you know, sort of a fresh start with Texas. You see, look, Alabama has been a much, much better program than Texas for a long time now. So I don't want to say that they could be rivals, but they are playing this year. Second week of the season in Austin. And the ESPN has Texas number 6 in its pre season around. Look, I was at the Texas college shoe game in Austin a few years ago and that was Joe burrow's breakout moment. Texas almost won the game. And they're right in it, right till the end. This is a game that's going to be like Texas is Super Bowl. What is Alabama is it will be a big deal for them or just like that's another box to check before we go play LSU and all these other teams. You don't understand it doesn't overlook anybody, but I do think having them week two will sort of serve what previous teams have had in that initial season opening neutral site game. Whether it was Miami or USC or Florida state, they could sort of use that game to keep them mentally focused during those top summer workouts. So I think that's what that will serve in Texas. I think it's interesting because you mentioned all the staff turnover albums had some of those guys went directly to Texas and then another guy that's very familiar with Nick Saban that they still have a really good relationship with it about Davis. The defensive line catch Texas with fans may remember it was his leaked audio on the bus that sort of showed some discontent there from what the longhorns are from a culture where they are culturally and building that thing. But they know they know Nick Saban. And on both sides of the ball. So I do think Texas is going to be real up for that game..

"That matters at least from a tv perspective. And so i just don't think beyond the fan base as passionate as they are as good as job. Is those those coaches and players have done to develop those programs. I just feel like it's a relatively limited pool. And what realignment. I think what realignment from ten years ago taught us or at least taught me was as much as you think. People love mark march madness in college basketball college football. That really moved the needle financially. And what realignment. This time around is really kinda hammered. Home is your people of college football in power five football but they they only really love the top of the food chain aspect of it. I think that those brands like in texas has been particularly good in a decade. And people are still. I told you the numbers over three million viewers game like now it starts with the fact that they get picked up by. We can't separate from the fact that you know on. Abc and fox do their draft. They almost always put those teams games on. Abc and fox. A lot of those. You know tcu oklahoma state games or whatever they they're on f s one. They're just not going to get that big an audience but you know. Those brands are very resilient people those have been. The faces of of people have been watching texas football for decades decades and decades. And frankly it's very hard to crack. That club lumps in has done it. i would say oregon over the last twenty twenty five years went from pretty irrelevant outside of its conference to national. But it's for the most part. It's the same schools that people were tuning in to offer the abc game of the week. Thirty five years ago that they're watching now and The difference between last realignment and this realignment was that you know a rutgers was able to be a big winner in the last one because at that point in time. These conferences were so fixated on cable households by the way when they're cable networks to defend rutgers a little bit here rutgers was not godawful when they went into the big ten a they were actually. They were not horrible like greg. Giannotti had built that program up. Even kyle floods first year as a head coach in the big ten. They were respectable. I'm not trying to say like rutgers. Brought a ton of a ton of juice with them. But the i think people now have been so used to rutgers being like three and nine for so long they are just saying bob took rutgers. I mean rutgers wasn't horrible when the time of the big ten move this.

If you'd like to participate. Yesterday i mentioned steve sarkissian. And i said i wanted to talk about what he's going to be making at texas as the new head coach and you think about big money and big college sports and the highest revenue producing sport. Obviously football there actually only to make revenue. Men's football men's basketball everything else is basically losing proposition wise. And this is why football was played this season even though the big ten and the pac twelve. And they're like yeah. I don't think we're going to do it and like wait. What are we better do. So steve sarkisian Remember him when he was quarterback. Coach with the raiders. I remember him as a very good college. Blair to Steve sarkissian was a very exciting quarterback in his time. And i remember thinking that guy might actually be good. Nfl player but he is a outstanding offensive coach. Now when he was usc on pat haden. The ad fired him. After repeated warnings of showing up drunk To work and then the final straw apparently was at this booster dinner where he stood on a table on made a drunken ass out of himself. And then steve sarkissian sued. Usc because in california you cannot be fired for disability and his disability was alcoholism and he said it was a disease. Okay that's fine. He moved on of course and was with Nick sabin at the alabama and Guy a very highly sought after so when he was hired at a texas and the ut board of regents got together and this was on january second the contract he got will guarantee him once again guarantee him. Thirty four point two million dollars for his six year deal. While is first year as head coach. He will make five point two million dollars so basically about a half. A million a game is guaranteed a two hundred thousand dollar raise each year. Now that's just. The cash is also guaranteed to dealership cars. Don't you love the semantics right. They're not to cars on campus not to cars of are picking but dealership cars in other words. I'll get it off. A lot is also guaranteed twenty hours of a private airplane per year or every he wants. Twenty hours is also given a housing allowance fee until he can find his new house. Yes how much he is getting remember. He's making five point two million. They'll have plenty of money to buy a house in austin. His relocation and temporary housing allowance is a quarter of a million dollars. Two hundred fifty thousand dollars. He will also receive a payment of one point two million if he's still the head coach on new year's eve. Twenty twenty four. All these funds will come from an organization called texas athletics. That is the budget firm that has multiple sources including licensing broadcasting rights tickets and donors according to a spokesman for the university guy named gb bird and The president of ut austin is a guy named jay hartselle. He said our entire coaching community benefits. Sorry our entire community benefits from a healthy and successful athletic program and naming. Steve is our coach. This was the guy who got fired for being repeatedly drunk at work and then sued his former employees. This isn't a guy who has a clean record as far as being an employed so the board. They're also will guarantee his assistant coaches at least a million dollars the offensive coordinator kyle flood one point one million special teams coordinator jeff banks one million. "Last year, I've got you guys with Barrett Jones and Sean Kelly on the call. For Old Miss. It's you, Mike Stoops and coach Kyle Flood who I love to death. We'll talk. We're just kind of sitting here on on the 50 Brian Denning about 118 Heat Index and you brought up. You know that the play from the previous week and it was all about fun. And that stuck with me because for people don't know. The story, described rock scissors paper between Judy Waddle and Devante Smith because men right then I was like Sock is back, folks. He's gonna be a head coach again because he's not just he's not going to grind you into the ground. He's also let you have some fun. As players described that what what? That that moment that play what that means to guys. Well, it was coming out of a time out. I think we might have just gotten a turnover. And we were cut all in the huddle. And everyone was kind of like, okay, Coach. What do you think? You know, they get excited. You know the players excited. You know me well enough, and that like I'm a pretty aggressive play caller and I put a lot of trust in our players to make good decisions. And so I let him know what the call was gonna be, and they all got excited. They all wanted to be the single receiver on our sideline for the play call. So they started playing rock paper scissors for who could play that spot, which I thought was pretty cool because it was a couple things about it. One we had we teach Our players to learn concepts. We don't teach him to learn one position, so they all can play everywhere that they were all comfortable enough to want to be in that spot to that. There was almost some joy and that Yeah, they wanted the ball. But yet if the other guy was gonna win this rock paper scissors, they were gonna be kind of happy for him. You know, that's the environment we created. But oddly enough, what happened in the play? I really think I can remember. Rugs are a lot of lever One model of the middle. What on a model doesn't win the rock paper scissors, he loses. Can't bear If he was, it might have been rugs that one. What happened is rugs runs the post route. He gets double covered, and Waddle comes from the other side of the field and catches the 40 yard game. So the rock paper scissors really didn't play out the way they wanted it to, But I just thought, man These guys gotta love what they get to do, You know, I mean, this is college football. And when you're confident you put in the work and you prepare, it's okay to be loose. It's okay to have fun doing what we do. And I think that's what the best teams do. You know. I mean, I've watched clips of Brett Farve getting in the huddle or Joe Montana getting in the huddle. Or should I was watching a video the other day of Vince Young, it practice dancing with the offensive line, getting ready for the national championship game..

"Welcome back Final segment. Jason Abdo, a 3605 nineties. The phone number 51283605 90 Longhorn football in just a second. But what's this? Said? You want to mind my business? What's going yesterday? We had a great beat. Oh, I guess it was a last call of the day told us about an Ernie Els golf project going on. In Central Texas. It's gonna happen. 36 holes out on 14 31 outside of marble falls that used to be called Waterford went under many, many years ago. Now it's being revitalized by Ernie Els. There's gonna be in Ernie Els village out They're gonna have boutique hotels and God tell me about this. And the guy was also asked me about golf, and he asked me a question. I'll ask you on the lake station. Do you give strokes are do you take strokes? Well, it depends. It depends on who I'm playing with. All right? Depends on the assortment of men that I have surrounded myself. Am I going to be a stroke taker, or am I going to hand out the strokes? Um oh, man thinks we fell for it. We can wake. It was a perfect example. I played Saturday, Sunday and Monday 88 40. I was on that number one t immunity on Sunday morning, and I was 41 degrees. That picture was already look like one. You look like Nanook of the North over there. Yeah, I sliced a four iron into the woods. Just minutes after that photo was taken, but build a fire. You're so cold, but let's see here on Saturday. Let's see. Now. That was Sunday. I took three strokes from my friend Chase. It was a great ball Striker. All right, But then on Monday, I was playing with my friend Ryan, who is very, very good. If you ever play with my friend Ryan, His name's Ryan Reynolds. No relation, Okay, not dead pool, but yeah, if he ever says to you, you he'll wait until you hit a medium decent drive. And then he'll He'll say, I bet you I can out drive you from my knees and I don't know. Really. And yeah, don't take the bet, because he's real good on his knees. Okay? Jesus is real good. Hey, ladies, Because I was he was on my team yesterday. These are all real stories. Yeah. E was on the team with Ryan Ryan. Good on his knees. Reynolds. So we gave strokes calm. We were providing Let's along nickname. Did you Did you get off the show yesterday? And try and get some intel on that. I mean, did you make some calls and yeah, it's going on. It's gonna be fantastic. It was this project that my friend Roy Bechtel built. They're gonna use an existing 18 holes and build another 18 holes. Sounds like it's gonna be fantastic. And apparently, it's a lot of European money coming over to Austin. Front it for Ernie Els. So I think it's going to take and it's always nice to have more golf opportunities. And Austin. This ship has sailed on pretty positive. But Ernie or any other Gulf celebrities out there, somebody revitalized Bluebonnet. That was that was my home course for so many years, But Craig's course. Yeah, and then you're just gonna ask any Gulf celebrity if they wanted you to give him some strokes. Yeah. Bring Let me say this Chinese Reynolds. Let me tell you what there's there's There's things going on near Decker like there was a project at the City Council quashed several years ago. Having a championship golf course out there. Understand it's back on target. They're trying to it because Ellen must people right there right by Decker elect, but But it Z think that's gonna make two That's gonna be at least two championship golf courses out by Decker Lake. Some That's that's great news. Not far from your house. I don't know why I'm actually trying to move further out there, and that was kind of where I was looking. Now. Everybody tell you on Muskie's coming there. He's driving the price up this it's fine. You know who else is looking for real estate in Austin, Texas Coach Pete Rose, Pete coach K. Coach Pete Kiwa Toschi. Probably. So hey, is the he is going to be the defensive coordinator for Steve Sarkisian's the Longhorns. He has had that position with Washington with the Huskies for seven years. Producer. Brandon Still in lockdown right now was very, very upset on the text chain today, because at first it was just rumors and he's like, Yeah, right. You can't get came to take coach K from us, and then it became official, and he's like all damn it. He's one of us, He says. He recruits really well, too. So that's great. That's what I've loved to hear from all these hires, and you know, a lot of these people are saying, Well, it's it seems to be lateral moves that not many people are getting like. That raises because they obviously are monetarily. But positional raised, right. So to me, that's also a great sign that you can talk somebody into come and doing their same job will pay you more. But the atmosphere that you're going to be around. It seems more appealing than where you are right now. Wouldn't you rather live in Austin than Seattle? Let's just be honest. Well, would you rather live in Austin, Texas and Seattle, Washington As far as Qalea college coaching towns go Seattle is I would say is pretty high up there in terms of I mean, there's like I've never been. I've never been to Tuscaloosa, but yeah, for Kyle Flood. Uh, T to the side. Yeah. You know what? I'm gonna move to Austin, Texas, That seems like a home run decision. People. It was people like Seattle. And people like you is very Seattle like day in Austin, Texas today. I've only spent I just don't think Washington and all the respect, Brandon. I don't think they've got the legacy of football that University of Texas Corsetti what I'm excited for you already mentioned, you know, March 23rd spring practices start. You guys know what happens tonight? Tonight. January 19th Uh, you know, before the inauguration coach Stark's first meeting with the team okay tonight. Okay in person. Let me go. No arc. Let's do it. What is in person these days? I don't know. Well, I know that I know the early Rolley tonight. The early enrollees are already at school. Charles right there. Austin. Our quarterback graduated early from us tonight, He said 40 acres, So he's getting ready for March 23rd so exciting times over there with his new guys, they go to work starting tonight. I'm very excited by I would I would give a lot to be in that meeting. I would love to hear how coach Stark First addresses who's on campus and what he's got right now. And I think he also alluded that hopefully, by the end of the week, all vacancies filled Coach Steve Yeah, I.

"Get you Don't need any Edie products at all After I tell you this one, the leading candidate now, according to Dennis, start of CBS. Okay, this, Peter, you're gonna tell you what. Hold him down. J will not come sit on my left. Georgia defensive coordinator Dan Landing has emerged as the favorite to take the same position for the University of Texas, according to Dennis Todd Dan landing of Georgia, Georgia Bulldogs defensive coach He's only 34. But he's considered one of the rising stars and all of college football. Georgia coach Kirby Smart. Pluck the Kansas City native from Mike nor Val's Memphis staff following the 2017 season after years outside linebackers coach Landing was elevated to coordinator in 2019 when Mel Tucker left for Colorado. Georgia finished 12th nationally. A total defense is season third in 2019, with landing calling the defensive place so this is would be a big hit for Steve Sarkisian. Also interviewed has been very autumn of Arkansas and Mrs States, Mississippi State's offensive coordinator Zach Arnett. But again, Dan Landing in L A. N n i n G has emerged as the leading candidate. For this defensive coordinator. Protections that would be Can you imagine? You know how good George's defense has been? Good gosh be there doesn't seem to be shifting in his share any so I think I'm not. I'm not sitting on a chair. Just Oh, I don't know if think, e don't know that fully did the job you were promising there at I haven't. I haven't heard that name before. But you're right. I am. I'm familiar with the George defense and it's an impressive impressive squad that they seem to put on the field there. And I will say that There is a beat a level excitement about this Texas program in that, you know, guys are leaving. I mean, guys are leaving Alabama for Texas for the same job. You know, he's a doubt Bob's believe, enjoying Georgia for Texas for the same job. It's one thing if you're believing to be promoted, you know into it. Didn't you know the Kyle Flood thing? He's technically the offensive line coach in Alabama is gonna have the same job here, but there were making in the offensive coordinator. But if you guys were coming For the same that, you know, not a promotion. Sure, there's money implications involved here. Yeah, The thing about a good brand remain strong. It gives me goose bumps like with that excitement because it's not normal to me at again like it's been with what we've gone through because of what I'm seeing around us. And not only that the level of excitement from former players still to this day, not during that you not even during the national championship, but when they hire coaches Or, you know, recruit. It's just this. The social networks right now are ablaze with former current recruits championing us which I just hadn't seen in a while. So you know, Vito, you and Jay saw the national championship defense. What I thought was a tremendous defense Protects is But I'm old enough. I can remember. Those defense is when for for Fred Akers when they had Steve Massey, Steve McMichael, Kenneth Sam's Those guys Unbelievable defense's and defense is where they would be. You know, 17 players taken 17 players taken. In the draft one year from the Texas offense and defense. But back those years when defense was king, and I love the way Georgia plays, defense and very physical I If it's landing, I think it's gonna be a huge get for my friend Steve Sarkisian. But the defense in college football is just it's I don't even know how to evaluate it because of the way that the game has changed that as well. I was asking you guys done after the national championship game. Is there a problem? Do we need to look at the rules that perhaps you know, to make some adjustments there because of the way that offenses have exploded. And look, this is another. Just another credit to Nick Saban, because, remember, a decade ago he was winning these national championship beat Florida beat Ellis. You 9261 year. Can you imagine? And Alabama ls you game? You know, that is five field goals. The end cannot imagine. Uh And so, yeah, he's not on the scene. Oh, this is the way that people are going to run off. And so okay, I'm gonna do it, and I'm gonna do it better than you guys I don't know, like could you combine the defense that Alabama used to play? Let's say, you know, you remember that team that Texas played in 2009 in the national championship game? Their NFL guys all over that defense. I'm sure he's got NFL guys right now. But they're still you know, they give up some points over there. I don't know if it's just because of the way that college football is now. But yeah, if you could put together a defense like that one of the those SEC defense is from 10 years ago that you know they had all over the place. And maybe the sky from Georgia can coordinate that in Texas, and he will come and he'll see the big 12 offenses. Which the offenses in the SEC or not likely, a Mississippi state is now with everybody's passing just about every down, but I think it's gonna be interesting to see how that trance if, if landing does come And even will vote. He's looking at two other SEC guys bury autumn of Arkansas and Zach Arnett, a Mississippi State how that translate in the big 12 because it seems like ashes defense, even though they got better the end of the year. It was like, hold your breath a lot of times like Whoa, Here it comes. So it is. This is this is very, very interesting news today and we the Texas hasn't officially told Chris Ashes out, right? Well, I know starving. Apparently, he's gonna be out blackly. He will be urban Meyer wants to hire him to be a an assistant there, and I think he was offered a job by Dan Mullen in Florida. So I mean, probably be okay. Don't hate Chris Ashton. I don't know. I can't just say to any former coaches who have already packed up and left or have You know what I mean? It's not like I mean where I get so stoked, But I mean, I was a believer. I was behind you guys I gave you everything I had is a fan. Thank you for your service is all I really just want to say and put a period at the end of that a 3605 90. Let's go to Leander. It's Tim on K O B. J. What's up, Tim? "Star Jason had a veto on a Thursday 83605 nineties, the phone number We'll get to some additions to the Steve Sarkisian coaching staff in just a moment, but just one more thing on the Longhorns despite the loss. I love this roster like I absolutely love everything. You the three headed monster of those upperclassmen guards Jericho. Sims is great on defense. Absolute beast. Make the free throws. You have some MBA talent guy, you know, high end Greg Brown. Kae Jones brought Cunningham Energy. I just love everything about it. That's why I started thinking I was like this could be my favorite Texas team ever. Don't give up on that. And, yeah, I'm not giving up on that. That's what I'm saying. Is that this is you know, let me have a midseason stumble. Andrew Jones was so hot he was 463 pointers. He had one shot in the second half. I don't know what's the deal with that was the only took one shot in the second half. Anyplace. 34 minutes. Remind me of kind of be John Robinson under our former coach, Tom Herman. But I don't know. I'm just I'm I don't know either. I'm pumps still pumped about that this season and everything. My thoughts from yesterday haven't really changed. Disappointing Yes, causing me to sweat through a comforter and all my sheets and pillows because of fever. Dream Night sweats last night after the loss, Yes. Do it is my opinion changed from yesterday? Hell no. Hell, no, not not either my money to be because I think there's still have a great team in glass half full. I mean, I'd rather have that happen. I mean, look, dude, Greg Brown one and done. That's how it feels to lose to an in state rival at the last second, because you know your team didn't finish right. I'm glad that happened there instead of the big 12 championship or somewhere in the actual tournament, which they're going to be in this year. Dude, come on. Yes, I hate that. I hate that That is now a bar or something that we even have to consider. But yes, they will. They will make a T in Indianapolis this year. I'm pretty confident. On. Yeah. What? You know what happens in the next couple of weeks. Let's let's see where they're at out When we get to that Baylor game on, Let's see, you know, you know all the technique. I got a lot of tech friends and there are coming out of the closet putting up but I'm sitting. I'm sitting in one right now. You know, I just got sent by some of my tech buddies. Let's just see what happens in love it in a few weeks. Okay? That's what I'm talking What happens in love? Yeah. Uh, these that that's such a sad But did your Texas Tech friend asked for permission to use those babies likenesses know? Yeah, he's texting behind my back. I'm sitting right here and I can't even get in on this one up. No, I'm texting YouTube. He liked that one. Vito did not Have sex with that basketball over that bastard. Okay, we could move to football where Steve Sarkisian has has added names to his coaching staff. Kyle Flood, I guess today it has become official has joined the staff. The office of the Offensive line coach of Alabama will be the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Texas. We knew this like a week ago, right? You see the guy that was instrumental in helping bring the broken Maher. Brothers dollars? Probably seven. Probably quite likely it Zwiers toe. Have your offensive coordinator also be the offense. I mean, look at the start. Sarkeesian. Sarkissian is gonna be the offensive coordinator here, right? He's gonna call plays calling the place And so, Yeah, he's the offensive coordinator, but I guess you gotta put a title. On somebody around there. Well, he's somebody I hope that you know, his O. C is basically an extension of him. He can run the practices. You know, Coach starts going to have to be the CEO and go be everywhere, right? Right. You can't just focus on the offense. When you're the head coach. I think you know he's going to be heavily invested in that offense. And that is why this brings up what's going on with the defensive coordinator position like I feel like this is Well, when you when you get Sarkeesian, and he's going to run the offense, good. We're covered on that side of the ball. Seems like the next most important position is that D C job? Chris Ash still has not, I don't believe been informed about his status at Texas. Some people are saying that he might still retain that role. I understand Urban Meyer wants him. Tiuna come and coach with him with the Jags. It's been offered a job. By Dan Mullen in Florida Urban Okay? Yeah. You're not only you're not allowed to. You know how to flirt with us, Jesus. So we block him into our face about how you're staying retired for health reasons and then coming poacher to poach our guys. I don't think so. I just don't know if this is gonna work to the guy's never been a professional football coach has never been around. Professional football camera setting. It's just this thing when he starts yelling at somebody to louder for I'll take away your scholarship. Say, man, I got no scholarship here on, you know, I agree with you, and we're gonna circle back immovable talk about urban, but but I want it. What? What are we doing? What are we waiting on with this defensive coordinator position? I don't know, but we've only It's only mean technically are we've only had a head coach for two days. My my expecting things that no, he said all gas, no brakes, veto all gas, No brakes. Hey, Ed back me up on this or help me with this because I think we've been all gas so far. I mean, yeah, look at the vacancies that he's created and then filled And my question is point of inquiry. How many have we poached from the Crimson Tide already? Well, so that's another one. Today we will learn Jeff Jeff Banks, and I want to know all about that. This is a good gift. The tight ends and special teams Coach for the Crimson Tide Jeopardy guy. Thanks. Yeah, Considered a new elite recruiter, particularly here in the state of Texas spent the last three years at Alabama five years with Texas. And and before that he recruited Kyle Allen, Christian Kirk. Several other guys for the AG is there. So Yeah, that is. I mean, if you don't talk about strategic hires A guy who's never coached in Texas and Sarkeesian. Perfect. I love it. I am sort of wood. Random aside. Why would you leave Alabama to come to Texas? I doesn't matter. I'm having of Ray's getting a race. But I think, same position and I mean look, the brand is still strong. I can't challenges all coaches, air nomads, All coaches, Jr nomads. I really believe how many of them are back along. Well there. No man may be vagabonds. But all coaches like they move. They move in. They groove all the time. One thing you said earlier about Sarkeesian in the offense. One thing saving did. Sarkeesian was left alone by saving, understand and reading and talking and hearing on TV. He was totally left alone on the offense Saving would go to the defense of meetings. Meet with the defense of coaches, but he would virtually not have much time with Sark..

"That 100 grand will go a long way. People said Russell was gonna carry a team at the Legion of Boom was over. Yeah, baby, we stairs, speaking of leaders. You can make the case that Nick's saving maybe the best coach in sports in the United States. It's easy hate on Nick's saving, or depending on where you live next, Satan. Look what he's been able to do not just with players. Reviving the careers of coaches. I use these Sarkeesian. His name was toxic. Not that long ago. Let's be honest. He had a serious drinking problem and drank himself out of the dream job. You always wanted USC. And Nick Saving, as he'd like to say brought him into the healing hands of saving that Steve Starkey is gonna be the head coach of Texas. Butch Jones washed out of Tennessee. Also, he's gonna be the head coach once again in Arkansas State. Vontae Smith, Nick Saban said. You come back for one more year. I promise you're going to be a better NFL player, Vontae Smith took his coach at his word. He has collected eight Trophies, postseason trophies. Before playing national championship game, including Heisman Trophy You don't have to like Nick Saving Nixon really doesn't care. That process thing he talks about seeing the work out pretty well. Alabama and not just with players. With reclamation projects you give a misfit toy. Also that becomes brand is shining new in the next seven. You can make that case and no one will laugh at you. That is bad is he has been in terms of not being that personal coach. Maybe the best coach in professional sports or an amateur sports in the United States. Lane Kiffin, Kyle Flood into Rapid white look at Brian Table after he came down to Alabama for year two, and now look what he's doing. A Buffalo's OC might be a head coach in the NFL in 2021. Yeah. Mike Stoops is there right now than analysts as well. He will be a head coach. About two or three years subject you, man. When you get to the Church of the right regulations, hands upon.

"Turn the news on all day. Did we fix everything Is everything good? Everyone, Everybody's playing nice again. We're all singing Kumbaya Kum Ba ya the recruits going in for coach Sark. Everything is happy coaches and things you're coming in. For our new head coach and everything's okay in Washington D. C. Plenty to discuss from the NFL, including is dead. John Watson trying to be traded. I actually have a big pile of Houston Texans news that we'll get to in a moment of interesting stuff on who gets to attend the NFL Games this weekend, But we'll start today as we were way will most days at least for a little bit. Coach Steve assembling his his coaching staff here. Bo Davis has been secured to be the defensive line coach spent the last year in the same position for the NFL's Detroit Lions. He coached here under Mack Brown right at What do you know about Bo Davis? He's a really good recruiter and a really good coach because he had two stents and Alabama And then excuse me coach with Mack Brown. He's really good, and I think he's a good recruiter. I think it's a really good higher and your higher guy named Bo Davis, who knows the lay of the land in Austin. He knows high school coaches in Texas. And I think it's a good hire by coach Steve Sark s. So this is obviously I mean, this is ah strategic effort that he's making because as we've discussed, he's you know, California Guy Sarkisian is with with no ties to Texas. And so he has to surround himself on that staff with guys who are connected to the state of Texas, right? Undoubtedly, because you've got to get entree into the offices of the high school coaches, because if you don't know the high school coaches in Texas, you're not going to do Anything. No Start doesn't know many Texas high school coaches, and that's why he got Blake Gideon a couple of days ago. And now that's why he's got Bo Davis because that is the key. And, you know, just like every coach since For goodness sakes, Fred Akers. They all say we gotta lock up Texas. We get up, got to get all the recruits from the state of Texas. Well, it hasn't happened the last few years for Tom Herman because too many recruits were going out of state to Ohio State, Alabama to Michigan on the Texas A and M not that's not out of state. That's out of conference. Me too many He was losing too many of the Texas towns, but he was still I mean, until this year, I think, well, the national signing day they had him in 17 or something like that. But he was still doing top 10 classes Tom Herman was with. Do you think that recruiting was really a problem for Tom Harmon? Yeah, I think it was because You don't get a commitment from Quinn Ewers of Southlake Carroll I'm talking about this year. You're right. Two years ago, three years ago, it was It was all fine. But this year, the ship started taking on water to significantly And I think that was, I don't know if it was because of a lack of coat connection with high school coaches, or, you know, connections across the state is because you're losing games that you shouldn't lose. Yeah, You're losing games that you shouldn't lose. And you have coaches coaching against Texas by saying Tom Herman is not going to survive. And then when Krystal content made the statement that he's our coach you then according to Chris, you had players within the program recruiting against time. Herman telling Guys Don't come here. Don't come here. There's a huge disconnect between Quinn Yours and Tom Herman because Quinn yours was on record his. His bedroom was full of Longhorn stuff. He always wanted to be a longhorn, The Brock Amar twins, For goodness sakes. Their dad was one of the legends of the Longhorns offensive line. The mother is even more fervor in about Texas football, and they turned their back on Tom Herman and go to Alabama. There was a huge disconnect between Tom Herman and these recruits writes this starting this year for sure starting mission and do we should we have the expectation that maybe they Sarkisian is able to flip some of those guys back when yours isn't until the 2022 class. Right? Uh, Quinn Years had the common after his game last week, and he's still playing football high school level in South Lake care. He says he still going with this his own guys, so I don't I don't think that will happen. I think it would. It would have been other coaches of Bracken Meyers model might have come here, but I don't. I don't. I don't think I don't think they'll change your mind about Alabama. No, I'm looking at the list of all of the guys who Secu shin, who has nailed down so far. Both Davis Blake getting Kyle Flood There's a whole bunch of other expected targeted names on here. Um, I I don't see a defensive coordinator candidate on here. Chris Ash has not officially been dismissed by the team, right is that Do you think there's a possibility? Chris Ashes back with this team the they'd save some money of Krish Ash was back on the team because not gonna fame three years worth. I keep on seeing the defensive coordinator. Brought for the Arkansas Razorbacks is the guy they're targeting. I would be surprised Zach Arnett. I mean, we're just looking at a huge list of names here. I think his name is flood. I think it's that Kyle flight is is the name of the offensive line coach who signed up yesterday. He's the offensive coordinator. Okay, That's the guy I was thinking. I was thinking of the defense. Yeah, I was thinking of flood, but I don't. I don't. I don't think Chris Ash will be back because you know It's a good old boys situation because coach Sarkeesian New Beau Davis from the time of Alabama and Yeah, you hire for the most part. Your friends who you trust to you believe in their philosophy of coaching, So I mean, unless he has a relationship with Krish Ash, I don't think it's gonna happen. I put it out there just I mean, Steve Sarkisian is an offensive guy on so maybe defense he ends Chris Ash was particularly second half of the year was good for the Longhorns this year. I've said I've seen a bunch of players have been advocating to keep him. Keep him around there. I don't know. I certainly did The saving the University of Texas money That doesn't seem to be something. They care too much about these days. So you're right about that money is no object. Even though it's a pandemic it they don't know that over there. Yeah, Yeah, I don't know if that's gonna if that's going to come into play Stan Drayton is the running backs coach. He's so it's looking. He may be the only one retained from the Tom Herman staff. Do you think there? Is there? Any concern about that that there's a nearly 100% turnover with the staffer? That's just what happens when you change coaches? That's what happens when you change that coaches Jason, That's what happens in that's just That's what that's you know. And here here, the guys that play for Texas second year in a row. They had 80% new coaches this year. Now they're gonna have probably about blue Moon problem about 90%. Maybe more that a 3605 90. If you'd like to get in here, 512836 05 90. I saw a very interesting name who might be the new head coach of the Houston Texans will get to that. It's Jason at Vito Back in just a moment..

"Week. He'll return on Monday. 83605 nineties or phone number. 51283605 90 happy to hear from you. Coach Steve Steve Sarkisian is working on assembling and staff still not in Austin as he is preparing for the national championship game. It's Monday night. Is the offensive coordinator at Alabama. By the way, Do you care about Nick Saban's daughter and her tweeting? Not really. That was kind of amusing, though, that she was blasting Ohio State. Just let's just do this. Tell him Tell him about it. So so, yeah, in a now deleted tweet. Nick Saban's daughter, Kristin. Quote. If you're not confident to play than, say it, I call BS on your covert cases. They're just worried about their quarterback and want him to have more time to heal. If he's hurt, putting your backup Even CS Postpone the rest of the season toe. Wait for Waddell. Bye bye. This'd supporting her daddy here. She loves her daddy and everything right? And look, I see that now I'm like, all right, probably not the greatest decision but now based on her apology, I feel bad. She's deleted that tweet and then a couple of hours later tweeted the tweet I posted earlier this evening was uncalled for, and hurtful. I made a huge mistake and I apologize. In a moment of frustration. I let my anger get the best of me and acted before thinking I sincerely regret my choice of reckless words. In no way did I intend to undermine the seriousness of the global pandemic and my heart goes out to those it has affected health and safety of others is first and foremost, and I pray that we can all find peace soon. I am ashamed and embarrassed. I hope you can forgive me and I hate you. Now I I just can't picture I've just seen Nick Saban, two out so many players on the sideline. I can only imagine the way that he's yelled at his kids before. Has he ever thrown a headset? It one of his kids. They just married daughter, too. She's older, she's She's not. She's She's not college college kid or anything, but that said, Like what she said there and Yeah, there's there's been talk. I think it is highly unlikely at this point. That the national championship game could be postponed because of Corona virus with the Ohio State program on their quarterback, Justin Fields does have a little boo boo on his ribs Got there got busted up pretty hard, so it's and I'm sure there are thousands upon thousands alibi of Alabama fans were tweeting exactly this conspiracy theory. And I guess you're connected to the coach. You're not allowed to do that. But now I just feel bad for the girl based on her apology. I do, too. And if that wasn't great depth, didn't it? I'm ashamed and embarrassed. I hope you can forgive me. Forgive me. Forgive me. Maybe our guy Cardale Jones wait in by the way. That was great. That's Tom Harmon's guy, Cardell says. Are you sure you want to face another backup from Ohio State? You know what happened last time, right? Because, Yeah. Cardale. Jones was the third string quarterback the year High state won the national championship. Beating Alabama on, you know, they had had to go to him. And you're right. Tom Herman coached him up is the offensive coordinator that year. That was Tom. That was Tom Herman. You're right. Exactly. And the perfect words coaching him up because that's what he did. Yeah. The national championship game I saw today s O. The threshold is 53. You're supposed to have 53 players scholarship players. And then like it least seven offensive lineman and a couple of other position groups you have to have certain on so so it could. Potentially, there was word that Ohio State might be without an entire position group. Ryan Day didn't say anything about that. It seems like they're pretty pretty focused on pretty ready to play on Monday, but also the team can opt just to play. So I can't imagine a situation. I mean, unless it was, you know, involved just in fields where they didn't just play the game anyway, Right? I mean, if you got no lineman, I guess you would postpone it, but if it wipes out an entire position Like all the offensive linemen, all the defensive backs. Whatever all the linebackers, Yeah. Thank you Got reason to say, Yeah. We're not gonna wait. We gotta postpone this game if it's just for one player note. Even if it is just in fields, But Justin feels obviously he's banged up. Obviously, he's going to be entering that game. Hurt to some extent, so, but you cannot just cancel the game because the quarterback's got short ribs. No. Speaking of linemen, eyes this the first full on secured assistant coach Kyle Flood, the all Alabama offensive line coach is going to follow Steve Sarkisian. In the 40 Acres I When I first saw this, I was like, Why would he leave Alabama to come be on the staff here? Texas? Oh, it's a promotion. He's going to be the offensive coordinator or at least he's going to have the offensive coordinator title. I mean, Steve Sarkisian is going to call the place was going to call the offensive plays right? And you would think he would be sure. Yeah, yeah. That's his forte. Yeah, right. Kyle Flood is very good. And I'm wondering. Well, Kyle Flood, make a call to the Metroplex and say, Hey, Brock, Amar boys. Exactly. We know Mama and Daddy went to Texas. We know Mom and Daddy Love Texas. The guy that you didn't want to come play for Tom Herman is no longer in the 512 wanted she just get in that portal and come join us. At the University of Texas. I hope that's coming. I hope that's coming and those air I don't you know, my my thoughts or I guess apathy toward recruiting these guys. They're 2021 recruits right? Like they would be on campus next year. Yes, Are they able to do that? Is it too late in the game for them to say, Hey, we want to get up and go to Texas. They can still do that. Even though they think they signed a letter of intent. You can still get out of it in this day and age of college football. Sure you can. Sure you can. I believe you just get you say I want to get the portal. You know, I'm not on campus shit. But get me in that portal Coach Kyle Flood, who was the head coach at Rutgers for a little while was also with Sarkeesian with the Atlanta Falcons for those two seasons. That worked out Well, well, well, they, Alabama just won the Joe more award for the best offensive line in college football. It does seem weird to figure go from offensive line coach taught offensive coordinator But again, Sarkeesian is going to be the head of that offense. All right, But you gotta think, too. M O n E y money, too. Because just that he's going to get a raise. Oh, of course you'll get. Yeah. When Texas baby we're texting. I, uh I understand Now why he is when you know why he's making that move. It does say that he just in the report that I'm reading is that he is not a high level recruiter that he has. All of his connections are in the East Coast, They say at Alabama, they surrounded him with other high level recruiters. S so hopefully that'll that'll be the case here. Texas as well. Coach. Flood Meet Blake Gideon what You probably need to say So. Is that official now go. Well, you mentioned that yesterday Believe it is official. Yeah. Blake Gideon, four year starter and safety for the Longhorns is coming to coach Special teams. Yes, Special teams and safeties. He'd been at Houston and then last year,.
