"Starting for the jets. I have jets by two and a half over the bears. I would take Michael imperioli over. Zach Wilson at this point for the mic. How many weight lotus characters would you take before you get to Zach? Grandfather maybe for I want to see him for a quarter. And then maybe we could take him back. If Murray Abraham versus Zach Wilson, that even I'll be definitely. Oh, oh, the guy happy horny guy. I definitely think that guy. Yeah, that guy could absolutely get to ten points against the paths. Both prostitutes. Yeah, I think we've got a good list. At least 9. I have jets by two and a half over the bears. I said too. This is dumb. This is just dumb. You're right. It's three and a half. I don't care. Wait, I know Chicago's better to root for and they're just better. Do you think they're already factoring in the QB change? For the jets? Yeah. Well, the other thing is fields is complaining about something shoulder related too. But still. I'll be mad if the jets won that game. Next one is a game I won't be betting. Ravens, home against the Jaguars. It's so lucky to see. Yeah. I want no part of this game either way. I hit it exactly. Best wishes. You hit it exactly. Did you guess ravens by 8? No. You should get minus two games for that. It's four. Raven's by four. Raven's home against the Jaguars? No, Jaguars are home. I'm not letting you do that again. I'm sorry. All right, I'll take the last one. I won that one. What's the actual line? Four. Ravens are favored by four. Well, you would have won anyway. I would have guessed three if I knew it was the Jacksonville. Next one is chargers. By the way, how many times can the ravens just suck for an hour and a half? They just look like complete dog shit or two hours and then they kind of get it going 11 minutes left in the game. And then we're supposed to pretend we didn't see the first two hours. Like, how many of those do you get? I could work in the playoffs. And the playoffs, if you suck for two hours, guess what's going to happen. You're just going to lose to go home. Well, it's kind of like the opposite of what it's usually has been like with Tucker is going to win it for us in the fourth quarter or overtime. Now it's like Tucker's going to score all our points for the first three quarters. And then maybe our offensive will come alive in the fourth quarter. We'll force some weird turnover or something. It's weird. Lamar has an exactly had the greatest contract drive, but the other quarterbacks in the league has made his value worth even more. Yeah. When you watch all the other quarterbacks, you're like, oh, Lamar's worth like $700 million. Chargers at Arizona I think this is chargers by three. You get it. I said, one, and it's two and a half. I have trouble with these. I'm not sure. You're like, Arizona has a game left and then we have to see if kyla Murray is playing. That's a lot of well, they're better off with called McCoy tomorrow. Yeah, maybe. Seahawks home for the Raiders. It's our 5th fairly watchable. And who knows what the Raiders, raiders with, it seemed like it was in play for McDaniels to potentially get fired before the end of the season. Yeah. It's not his fault that they've blown like three straight years of drafts. But Russell Wilson

"This. The jets aren't bad. They say that. They had receivers open a lot. And Garrett Wilson looked like he got hurt. He got pushed out, he landed on and said, but I was like, oh man, can't the Jets have nice things. No. Then he came back, made the big play, but I actually thought it Flacco was a little more confident. They would have even had more points than they did. Defense was pretty solid. And I thought they really made the browns work for it. And I was going to come out of that game going. You know what? Impressive by the browns. Two. Two hard fought wins, but they pulled it out. And then all of a sudden, the jets are celebrating. It was very un jets like. That was the most surprising thing. It was like the brown's history Trump the jets history somehow. Yeah, yeah. What the W in front of the jet. Yeah, I agree. And I was making fun. I'm like, oh, this Joe Flacco, Garrett Wilson. It's going to be a combination for the age, as you see. There's like, holy crap, he did it again. Is this going to stop? And while brace hall scoring too, like this is, this is amazing. But no, although when 5 or 6 games, but they beat the they beat the team they needed to be. LeBron. Yeah, true. Sneaky part of it was the brown side, a chance to get the winning field goal. They got a $1500 last week. Percent had them near midfield. They had a timeout. It felt like he was going to make a play and they were going to at least get a kick. And then he screwed up and that was it. I thought that was indefensible. Cardinals raiders, the Raiders offensively, they were just cruising. The Cardinals at halftime, I was ready. I wrote down in my notes. Is this the worst team in the league? Tyler had checked out defensively they were a mess. And it looked like it was going to be, I had a bet. I did a $1 million picks that the Raiders were going to win between 11 and 20. Points. And I was like, oh God, don't score too many points. I'm not going to win my bet. All of a sudden, they kind of turtled. They got super, I don't know, conservative, like Adams was barely involved in that game. All of a sudden, the cardinals just had the ball. It seemed like for a half hour straight at one point card didn't have the ball for a half hour. And you could see the Raiders wearing out and Kyler as usual as soon as they went schoolyard with him. He's unstoppable. And they were down 16 and I started to have that uh oh moment, didn't you? Because we had a lot of raiders money. Yeah, because they couldn't get the ball back either. Then they show a stat. They hadn't had an offensive play for 49 minutes. One of the longest stretches. And it's not like a Super Bowl Sunday where Lady Gaga did an hour and a half duet with Tony Bennett during halftime. No, it was just regular football. They couldn't get on offense, but even so, like with all the non Crosby, what do you do? Do you rush somebody? Do you just rush somebody? He's better off when he's moving, right? Because when he's in the pocket and he's throwing, he's as he's, I think, lower third, really, I really do with kyla Murray, but when he's moving, he's one of the top 5 or four 6 right in there. So the rush max Crosby, because he's one of the best in the game, where do you just come back? I don't even know what the hell to do with him anymore. I don't even know who to compare Kyler too. He's almost like really more an MBA player than an NFL player when you watch him where he's like watching this NBA star that just doesn't have it. It doesn't seem like he even cares that he doesn't have it. You're at the game, you're kind of watching him from the stands and there's three for 15 and you're like, this is not playing defense. This guy give a shit. And then all of a sudden they turn it on, they start making shots. And then it becomes like a little Kyrie ish where you're watching going, oh my God, how do you stop this? And it wasn't that kid. Marquise Brown, AJ green, some dude torch. Where did I know George has a receiver? Yeah, no, he doesn't. Yeah. That was it. And he's just running around and he can buy himself 5 seconds, 6 seconds. And if you try to grab me, squirms away, and all of a sudden he's buying three more seconds. And at some point, it was like Jesus. They might actually, and then they won. Yeah, grandpa Kyler, tell us about the past catchers you had on your team. Oh, that was torched, and there was irks. And old man AJ green who dropped like four big passes. What the hell? But I would say from a gambler's perspective, maybe we should start looking at these teams that were 15 to one to win in the fourth quarter. And that's what the cargos were. 15. We would have time. It was 20 zero and a half time. And the line for the second half was even. Yeah. That's how did the Cardinals look? It was even. You could have you could have just had any version of under 20 and you win with a cardinal's bed. I didn't think about doing it, did you? No, no, I didn't, because you just figure, you want to cash in on your money line, Paul is not worried about hedging at all. Yeah. You know disgusting. I came away from that game. Kind of disgusted by both teams because that's not the Cardinals were a hot mess. And then they just, Kyler just got hot like an NBA player and he saved them, but they certainly didn't look well run. They didn't look well managed. It was impressive they fought back, but the Raiders, I thought were just so bizarre, game management wise, offensively. I just didn't understand anything they were doing, especially in the OT. And now they're owing to. So we have that. And then the third one, the third comeback was Baltimore, which I think I'm going to give the most of a free pass to. Their defense is already crushed by injuries. You have these two fast guys on Miami water on tyreek, which as I've watched now two full games of them. Yeah. It's a little bit unlike anything we've had before. And in the second half, these guys are flying around, they're running four to 40s all over the place. And all of a sudden they were just wide open all the time. And I felt like the ravens ran out of gas, didn't you? Yeah, I've watched waddell, my bench for the last two weeks. So yeah, I've gotten to kick out of that number one at home doing there. The thing with the ravens all, this is why you might consider it the most disappointing. Their offense is built to never blow leads. Real, right? They should be able to run the clock out better than anyone. Now I understand dobbins didn't play. But between Lamar and, you know, whatever you want to put together with Justin hill and Kendra, kenyon Drake, and whoever else is getting the carries, I just feel like they should be able to, I mean, as dobbins that big a difference, if they have him, they definitely run it out. It's not a problem. And two is not a legend and he's not sending him the can in Ohio just yet.

"The Arizona Cardinals through the 2028 season, he'll be 31 years old by then. Also, Kyler Murray is now the second highest paid quarterback by average yearly earnings. He's making on average $46.1 million a year. Now look, I do not mind Arizona giving Kyler Murray a big contract. In fact, I'm happy for the guy, like ran himself. I'm like, wow, he just got paid generational wealth. That's cool. That's exciting. I think you could argue he's already made life-changing money, but now it's like a whole nother level. Holy crap, his children's children are not going to have to work. It's incredible. And I ask you, for anyone, I myself am very skeptical of this contract. I go right really? Kyler Murray, that much money like I'm even in that boat, but I want to counter even my own thinking and say, well, let's pause and ask. You know, what are the Arizona Cardinals without Kyler Murray? And how easy is he to replace? I mean, look, there are some exciting quarterbacks in college football right now. But there's just not a lot of Kyler Murray's running around the league and I will say I don't think he's earned this contract yet. I think based on what he's done in his three years as an NFL quarterback. I don't see a guy who's worth $230.5 million. That seems absurd. However, as the years go on, he might eventually earn that money. He's super talented. I think he's one of the more talented quarterbacks in the NFL with his ability to run around. He's got a massive arm, but I just, I have a hard time going, yeah, this guy, Kyler. He should be the second highest paid quarterback by yearly average in the NFL. I just don't, I have a hard time feeling that way. What's going to be really interesting is in 5 to 7 years when we look back on this contract, are we going to go um, you know, they overpaid Kyler Murray, or are we going to say, okay, that makes sense. Is it kind of like when Baltimore paid Joe Flacco at massive contract? I mean, that one didn't work out at all. So we'll see. I'm really excited as time goes on to see how kyla Murray plays to see what Arizona does. And they kind of determine whether or not he ends up earning the money he's getting paid. You know, I will say, Kyler Murray's playoff loss to the rams in January. I think it was in January. It was really embarrassing. He appeared to lack leadership and he kind of wilted in a really big moment when you need your quarterback to show up. It would be really, really hard for me to give a guy I watched do that, not have leadership and really not show up in the biggest moment of the year. To give that guy $230.5 million. That feels a bit absurd, feels a bit hard for me. I'm trying to remember that it's a different NFL now and there's more money than ever before. Every quarterback from here on out that gets paid is going to be making more money than you can even imagine. It's just a different era of the NFL, but I'm still having a hard time accepting that.

"Have no lines. I said 9 with kyla Murray. I had 8 and a half. All right, so we'll scratch on off. The aforementioned Broncos. Yeah. Home for the eagles. And this is either three or three and a half for Denver. And I'm gonna say three. I said three and a half, and it is two and a half. So you get it. Two and a half. You can't even say this is a loser leaves town match because no. Denver at 5 and 5 could be still favored again when the division. Not favor, bud opportunity. What do you think is the winning record in the NFC? I'm sorry, the AFC west. Ten and 7? That's a good one. Yeah, all of a sudden it's probably you think anyone gets to 11 and 6? I'll have to look at the numbers, but so 11 and 6 for even the Chargers. What did you say they were? 6 and three. Chargers are 5 and three. Raiders are 5 and three. Chiefs and Broncos are 5 and four. Chargers 6 and four gets you 11 and 7. They have I know they have the Raiders. I know they have no it would have to be ten and 7, ten and 7 seems realistic. Ten and 7, sorry, yeah. 11 and 6 does not seem as realistic. Charge is Vikings, steelers, Broncos, giants, Bengals, chiefs, Texans, raiders, Broncos. Yeah, maybe maybe 11 and 6. The bills are number one and point differential in the AFC. Plus one 17. You know those number two? This is your patriots? Yep, plus 60..

"I don't mind following that. Oklahoma BTC 52 to 31, this is another team in the college football playoff conversation. Now, Spencer Rattler, the Oklahoma quarterback former Oklahoma starting quarterback has now officially been benched because Caleb Williams is the new quarterback starting at Oklahoma. He had 5 total touchdowns for passing one rushing. That one rushing touchdown was a 41 yard run by Caleb Williams. It was very impressive. He was 18 for 23 passing for 295 yards. And those four touchdowns passing that I did mention, Caleb Williams is I'm becoming a really big fan of the guy. I like his demeanor, his teammates seem to like him. He seems like a good leader who is just very positive and I love watching Caleb Williams play quarterback. The way he sits in the pocket is very calm and strong. It's very unique the way he like his feet are very deliberate, very slow, but not slow 'cause he's like slow, slow because they're controlled and it's just a different style, a different temple. You don't often see where he's not bouncing his feet around a lot. He's very calm, very strong, very slow. And watch the way Caleb Williams uses his lower body to generate force with a football. It's really impressive. And I gotta say Caleb Williams reminds me a lot of parts of his game that are taken from two different former Oklahoma quarterbacks. One is he runs a lot like Jalen hurts, powerful, but quick, but man, Caleb Williams can really lower the shoulder and break a tackle, which I love Kyler Murray, he never could do that. But then he throws the ball like kyla Murray's got Kyler Murray's ability to throw the ball. He runs like Jalen hurts, Caleb Williams is fantastic. I love the guy. And it's just, I can not wait to watch him continue to progress and grow. Like he's not perfect. He's a little late on a couple of throws and still figuring it out. But definitely it's undeniable in my opinion that Oklahoma is a much better team with Caleb Williams as their starting quarterback. And it makes me wonder, I look back to some of the ugly wins at Oklahoma earlier in the year with those games have been blowouts if Caleb Williams had played all year. I don't know. I think you had to let the Spencer Rattler thing play out. But certainly Caleb Williams is fantastic. Now, I still worry about Oklahoma's defense. They gave up 31 points to TCU. TCU receiver Quinton Johnson had 7 catches for, listen to this a 185 yards and three touchdowns. That's ridiculous. So in the college football playoff, can Oklahoma stop an SEC team? I doubt it. And it's certainly if they match up with Cincinnati, that's like the dream scenario. Can we get Cincinnati against Oklahoma? 'cause that's a game Cincinnati has a legitimate shot. They probably don't win, but they have a better shot of beating Oklahoma than they do of beating Alabama or Georgia. So keep your eye on that. I'm curious how things all play.

"For us to really get attention. Really appreciate patrick. Mahomes for what he does after the first couple of years narrative has already been written. Let story has already been told. That movie has already been shown. The sequel might be great. The sequel might be all right. But it's never going to be as great anthony original right. How many movies and hollywood have had sequels and the sequels have been better than the originals. Maybe iraqi if you argue. I don't know but for the most part the original is always the best. Well patrick mahomes what he did. I came out and caught our attention and the things that he was doing. He can't top anything that so patrick. Mahomes did not going to be winning the type of championship. If this is to say that keiler murray is brand new shiny object last year. Start the first four weeks of the season but russell wilson russell wilson super bowl champion russell wilson. What is the best quarterbacks in the league for years russell wilson finding letting seattle russ russell wilted who has never in his career despite the accolades despite the achievements despite the accomplishments russell wilson has never even got a vote for mvp number. What he's doing for the first world four weeks of the season look at the numbers then. He's putting a book at the passing yardage that he's putting a book at the seattle seahawks record. Look at their office. What he's doing this that the other. The narrative was starting to right itself in terms of this is the reason why. I'm going to be going with russell. Wilson at the mvp. The first four weeks of the twenty twenty seats and the narrative was there and despite. What patrick mahomes doing what patrick mahomes would he do. Although for. what three hundred fifty yards four touchdowns and no interception big whoop de damn do like. He doesn't do that every week. Right but russell wilson. Wow this is unbelievable. I can't believe it in. oh he's never gotten. I can't believe i never thought about that. You're gonna tell me that he he's never gotten a single vote for the mvp. Oh this is going to be as year blah blah blah now. Russell wilson fell off. Aaron rodgers emerged and he won the your vpn. Aaron rodgers started building his narrative to where it was like. Oh we give it to aaron rodgers even though you could have easily given it to patrick mahomes for the year that he had. But you know that. That's the reason why i'm saying that right. Now i think kyla murray has more legs if he continues to do what he's doing the take home that vp. I i'm not saying then a week four we should just go ahead and mark it down in ink irreversible that we need to give the mvp to well tyler murray by think early on in this race early on in this debate we're speaking about who the mvp. I think kyla murray as a guy who's staying at number one could be there for the remainder of the season if he's continuing continuing to do what he's going to be doing because as i mentioned before before he had that injury and later on in that year that he was a guy who was pulling up some strong numbers and he was on the He was on the up and terms of you. Know giving serious consideration for the mvp thailand. Murray is not something it's like. This is a four week sample and all of a sudden now. This is going to be a guy who would arrive within. Hasn't been any evidence before that kylie murray can do something like there. There's evidence there and you take a look at the team. You take a look at the narrative you take a look at the teammates around them. You take a look at the offense you take a look at the responsibility that kylie murray has to be success..

"Stafford with the mvp. So the reason why. I say going in the week four the fact that the cardinals came on the road to la against a team again which is just coming off beaten the beating the defending super bowl champions and not squeezing by not eeking by but the domination that they showed you have to say for so far earlier the season that the cardinals victory over the rams have to be the most impressive victory by any team so far this season and the emergence of a new player gets into the topic of who's in the league quarterback who's the mvp is kyla murray new mvp. After four weeks play the mvp after three weeks matthew stanford against the rams murray maybe he was really good path for two hundred sixty eight yards. Twenty four to thirty two touchdowns. No-one exceptions ran for thirty nine yards. Now i know. I'm sitting here and i'm saying man you know palo murray in. Vp this that and the other at the four four weeks before the first six to eight weeks of the season for me treated like a pre season. I understand in the nfl that gains count. Gotcha understand that. But what i'm saying in terms of trying to make a determination on who's code who's the vp. And who's going to be that guy who's going to be that team which team is going to be true super bowl contenders to which teams are going to be failures. And all this type of stuff before you finally build that argument terms of okay. This is what i'm going with man. The nfl season is so long man. The nfl season the so grueling mad. The nfl season is so unpredictable was just the wear and tear the physical nature of the sport. The injury that happened on the indus sport one week of the best team in the league then three weeks later. We don't know what the hell you're going to be doing in terms of how far you're fall is going to be so yes. I understand very very very small sample size when we're speaking about who the vp. And who the best player in the game and which team is emerged at the best team in the sport didn't go back. I don't know five ten fifteen years to take a look after week four was quote unquote the best team during that time and figure out how many of those squads ultimately won the championship. How many of those squads made the plaza. Mvp in the first four weeks. How many times have we gone out and talked about. You know this person or this quarterback this running back preferred four weeks this guy the mvp and this guy the new flavor. This guy's sheriff in town in terms of the best player and blah blah blah and by the end of the season..

"The Seahawks wouldn't trade Russell Wilson for the entire Giants and Jets roster? That was in response to a question of Dak Prescott for two first round picks, But I guess he was going at the point. That there's no way that the Seattle Seahawks right now we're trading Russell Wilson. So I don't have any fun with this. I don't expect Russell Wilson to be traded this offseason. Who knows where it goes after that, But why would the Seahawks want to trade him? I think that would be such a foolish decision. So let's get both these sides on the same page and let's get both of these sides moving back in the right direction, and it kind of scenes from what Greg said anyway. But the are on the same page. Rust. For whatever the reasons why would have negotiation. Part of it was for the future elected to finally go public with it. What is this? A contentious situation doesn't look like that yet. So it got me thinking. With Russell Wilson Air quote available, which we know he's not available. And then the Shawn Watson. The Texans say he's not available. But that has a realistic and you would expect that there is a good chance of the Sean wants and does get traded from now into the draft. It just comes down to one. The Texans want to admit it. How many quarterbacks in the National Football League right now we're viewed is untouchable. That if you get a call From Let's say even Seattle or the Texans where you're not thinking about trading your quarterback? Would say the bills are not thinking about trading Josh our And you could make a case you rather have. The Sean wants. You could make the case. You have that Russell Wilson, but you also have to think about the team chemistry and where it's at right now. And Josh. Alan just had a great season. I don't think they're thinking about trading him. And the rest of the anti East. Yeah, All three of those quarterbacks situations are not viewed as untouchable. So there's one do me a favor here. Trace If you could please do me a favor. When I give you the name Of the untouchable You just write it down. So Josh Alan, there's one I'm gonna go with that guy in Kansas City. What's his name? Oh, yeah. Patrick Mahomes. He's untouchable. Derek Carr. You could get rid of him. You're locked. You could get rid of him. Justin Herbert. I don't think the charges would trade Justin Herbert right now. So that's another one. Steelers. Big Ben is nearing retirement. Maybe plays one more year left. So that's a situation that you do need a future quarterback Lamar Jackson. Especially with how they have doubled down how they're not going to go get a big time wide receiver. You would think this offseason if it's a diva wide receiver. The only cares about how many times you gonna get the football thrown to him? Yeah, I'm going to say that the Ravens would not trade Lamar Jackson right now. That would I rather have Russell Wilson and to Shawn Watson over Lamar Jackson. Yes, I would. So I'm gonna put Lamar Jackson going into the season and untouchable. I'm going to say, Cleveland. I'm gonna put Baker on that list. Now, do I think Baker is a great quarterback currently? No. I'd rather have to Shawn Watson and also Russell Wilson over Baker Mayfield. Absolutely, however. With the way that Baker played this year. I don't even believe that the Browns would consider moving on from Baker Mayfield. When you make the playoffs for the first time since what 2000 to you on your first playoff game since 1995 bakers not going anywhere, Joe Burrow now coming off an injury, you may say, Yeah, go get the shot Watson, if you can, but the bangle there's so many years away. You'd have to give up picks and give away Joe Bird to get the show marks and I don't think Joe Burrows going anywhere. Ryan panel. I would move on if I could. But I don't think that's likely. But I'm not putting Ryan Tannehill on the untouchable list. The Colts they need a quarterback. Texans. The Shawn Watson to me is untouchable, but that's the situation. We're not going to put him on that list because he's someone that looks like he's going to get traded, but he's untouchable Quarterback, but the Texans have found the way to mess that up. I guess I'll put Trevor Laurence on that list. I don't see any way that the Jaguars are not going to take forever. Lawrence with the first overall pick and trade that to get another quarterback, so that's just the answer there, Ryan How many untouchable quarterbacks don't have on that list? There'll be seven. Okay and give me the names over time. Josh Allen Yep. Patrick Holmes, Justin Herbert, Lamar Jackson, Baker, Mayfield, Joe borrow and Trevor Laurence Okay, and a disclaimer. Once again. We're taking Watson off this list because we do think he's going to get traded cause of dysfunctional mess. That the Houston Texans are so I had seven right there in the A. F. C. All right. Let me go. NFC. Washington needs a quarterback giants Daniel Jones. I'm not a believer in him. How about that Prescott? Now I would not get rid of Dak Prescott so put him on the list, but from a cowboy's perspective Haven't got the deal done yet. Now they believe in Dak Prescott. They wanted to give him a five year deal, and he only wanted a four year deal. But as this continues to go on, does this turn into Kirk cousins where it's two years on the franchise tag, and then he's going elsewhere in plan for a different team. Eagles. There's no belief in that quarterback situation right now with Carson Wentz. And I can't tell you all four games that Jalen hurts his death with the answer Russell Wilson to may untouchable put him on the list. Matthew Stafford. He's not untouchable, but the Rams are moving on from Kyla Murray. Hmm. I still think we've seen some.

"This was the one thing I kept taking away from it yesterday afternoon. Is Russell was at the Super Bowl, getting the Walter Payton Man of the Year award sitting with the commissioner, and he's watching Patrick Mahomes, the future of the sport and Tom Brady. At age 43. And he mentions Tom by name that he's watching Tom Brady, who said, Hey, I'm leaving New England. I'm going to Tampa and I'm gonna bring in some players Antonio Brown, Rob Gronkowski and Leonard for net So in one year during a pandemic, no preseason, he cobbles together. Some other guys to join him in this lineup, and they win a Super Bowl and Russ is probably going What am I doing? What are we doing? We are we attendant 16 like is that where I'm headed? I'm always gonna be 10 and six and then we're going to struggle toe, you know, get into the playoffs or win of opening round game and what's my future here? What's my legacy? And that's where you start to think about it. I truly think yesterday when Russ was talking about it. It dawned on him is he's watching a game that he's never in person watching a game unless he's playing in the Super Bowl. He's watching Tom Brady gone. Why can't I do that? But do that now. Does he want out of Seattle? I don't know. This feels like it's more of a message. This is Maura of Ah, subtle way of doing what Aaron Rodgers did, because Rogers you went. I don't know what that message is, but he's sending a message. But Russ Russia is trying to say something without hurting people's feelings. But I truly believe he looked at Tom Brady and said. That should be me. Why is it to Shawn Watson was supposed to get a say in what was going on with the Texans. She's six years younger than me. You know, Kyla Murray wants to have some say here, Aaron Rodgers wants to have some say here. Why don't I have any say in what's going on in Seattle? Offensive lineman. And then when I brought up the report by CBS sports during the Super Bowl coverage, where Jason Locke and Forrest said their teams who are calling Seattle About possibly trading for Russell Wilson and I said to rust, Do you think teams have called about you? Yeah. I definitely believe that God calls for sure. I didn't think that You know anything Anytime you're, you know, you know, Ah, player that tries to produce every week and has done it for, you know consistently. I think people gonna call for sure. And I think it's part of the process. But your franchise quarterback your Hall of Fame quarterback. You're not available or you Well, I'm not sure if I'm available or not. That's a CEO expression. But also I think for anything else is, um You know, I think the end of the day you want to win. You know, I play this game every day to wake up to win. You play this game, you know, Toc the best in the world. You know, I know what I hate. I hate sitting there watching other guys played again. Yeah, And he mentions Tom Brady by name. He mentioned LeBron James name. And you know these air guys who helped orchestrate a roster. Tom doing it famously in Tampa, and LeBron's done it a couple of times in his career, obviously easier to do if you're you know, person of the prestige and power of LeBron James And you only have to manipulate the roster to get one or two guys in there, But I do think that Russell Wilson saw his future. And didn't like what he was seeing when he saw Tom Brady on the field, winning a Super Bowl 43 for Russ, who says he wants to play 10 to 15 more years, he not going to end his career in Seattle. Just not gonna happen. And he has to understand that nobody ends their careers where they start. It's really rare..

"Well, I mean again. Six. Josh Allen. Having a better year than Russ doesn't mean that he's I know that you would take Automatically take him over us. But right now Improvement he's made in year three of his 10 year. It's fantastic, then Yes, it's been great. I mean, like, isn't the quarterback The roller coaster. I mean, it is the house E 18 times, isn't it? But the same stuff happens in the N B a every year. Right. Well does yeah, sure. The top players Now, all of a sudden we remember at the beginning the year Katie was wrangling ninth because he was coming off the injuries of those people are we all knew Katie would probably be the best player at the end of the year. But like where is LeBron Where is a D? Where is where is Hardened now. I think those fluctuate year to year every season with the NBA. I think quarterbacks for the most part outside of the homes in Roger's, they get on a more A more volatile roller coaster. Where's like like, you know, every year, it's different, and it happens throughout the year, especially with young quarterbacks like Cuyler Murray. Everyone was like, Oh, Kyla Murray. He's my guy Got them? Kyla Murray Murray Jersey. He's got and then like teams, really, I still got you. I'm just saying, like I still and I still like, you know Matt Ryan, But you get on the roller coaster with Matt, too. It's just like it's never a straight line. You're gonna puke at some point. You are. Unless you're a fan of never pure general. I've never puked on a roller coaster ever. Never Why? I think the NFL quarterback roller coaster is more violent than any roller coaster you've ever been on. Out. It moves the one a great America. Black that shock wave. Yeah, they used to give you that you would have to have your back would be all screwed up your back and neck. Yeah, it would do that. Why sign up for that? It would jolt you around so much, and now they think they tore it down. And they made it to the six where Superman is now. Yes. Oh, I know. Great America Like the back of my hand. What was the last time you were there? I mean, with the clothes. You're right. It was bright fast. Not this past October, but a year ago, because don't forget this was my love. And now I've got kids who are riding roller coasters now, like Mason went on the demon when he was five against his will No doubt. No, he he was all in. I took Bracciano Wizard on the Wizard when he was three. Craxi wizard all over you about his pants. He loved it more than Mason. I think that this is like, I can't wait. That's going to be my most fun thing about like, you know, taking the kids. The ballgame is awesome, too. I want to ride roller coasters again. Can't wait. Can't wait to be back at the theme park. There you go. Falcons have offered their head coaching job. Two Titans offensive coordinator Arthur Smith. The Yankees have finalized a six year $90 million deal with DJ Let Mayhew I think I just saw Jesse Rogers also reported right that the Cubs in Javi agreed on an $11 million deals. Correct Esso Hobby so they avoid arbitration for the last year $7.65 million See that's coming your way. Do you say anything about agree on anything down the road. No, I did not. See. I saw briefly. I saw Jesse ST Tweet three different trade. That's not funny. It Z not funny. James Harden.

"He just missed the cut. 11th. All right, let me think here. Is it obvious one missing? We're looking for the for the last for the ninth guy, right? Wouldn't say obvious. I would really consistency. Think consistency. Stafford. No, We're Stafford Stafford, right behind Cuyler. So that is 13th, OK? I have seen your NFC FC. Have C consistency, Impressive wins. Impressed, disappointing season. Hold. Oh, no, That's right, Mr. Don hot Jane, Alaska. Would that be the head that that would be the hint? What? Derek Carr with an 84.7 ranking according or I'm sorry. 84.7 grade, according to Pff. They have cars. The ninth best quarterback in football, That's all she sent me, right? But it zit in order. It's an order. That is. Yes. I'm gonna sound like Bob Wiley. What Ahead of Matt Ryan, Kyla Murray, Stafford Baker Herbert Car Mar who that team was six and four or six and three and finished the year eight and eight. They have him as the ninth best quarterback in football. That is correct. His stats aren't bad consistency when you watch him, though, Derek Carr does not. Look like a top 10 quarterback in the NFL, I would say. 50 like 15 or 16, probably So give me Let's fill in the blanks. Let's just go one through 15 Rogers one. Brady to Watson three. Mahomes for Alan, five. Tannehill, six. Russell Wilson, seven. Then, in a number eight, Pff had Dak Prescott. At number nine. You're not playing a prank on me, right? This is I have the sheets in front of me. Derek Carr, Derek Carr. Okay? Now followed up by night, You know, insufferable Derek cars now going to be I had a great season BFF fun Being at nine, apparently is Brother. It likes the pop off on Twitter, so I'm sure he'll be running his mouth. 10 Kirk cousins. 11. Matt Ryan, right? Yep. 12 collar. Murray. I don't think you gave me the 13th. Matthew Stafford. Matthew Stafford. Okay, We did talk about him. Who's 14th? Baker, Mayfield Baker. Uh, Baker had some really good statistical games like that one game against the Bangles. Remember where he threw five touchdowns, But there was then some games where was clearly just child and Karim Hunt, But you gotta get Baker credit for getting that teams that were four games and all right. Do you have a touchdown pass? Like the middle stretch of the season and then s O baker was 14 14. And then who was 15th Lamar? Lamar was 15th. All right. Just give me real quickly. 16 17 18 1920. We'll stop there. Okay, So Justin Herbert 16 this This is a funny one. Daniel Jones. They tell me Well, well, yeah. Won't Daniel Jones in a second. How did they tell? May you said Herbert was 6/16? Yep. How is Herbert 16th? And Carr's night. Like if I ask you right now, who would rather have one year next year? Herbert a card You take Herbert? Yeah, I think everyone was a great question that just for one year Yes, Jon Gruden. That question would take Herbert too. Okay, so Continue here so big bad. Daniel Jones is at 17, a top 20 quarterback this year. 18 think about that. I ast? I said pro football focus. I like some of the information. Maybe we'll get one of their experts on. How did they say Daniel Jones is at 17th? Oh, he must on a play by play basis great out somehow because their best win. Was up against the Seahawks. He didn't play in that game. That was Colt McCoy. Maybe get bonus points for like, drop passes. And obviously haven't Ingram is a pro. So maybe, you know, it's probably a good point. So Daniel Jones, Danny Dimes off Morass is going to be like 1/5 of Adam and 17 Go ahead. 18 Philip Rivers. Alright 19, Ryan Fitzpatrick. And 20th Joe Burrow. It's Patrick. He is at 1920 25.1678 games, Max. So they put the snaps in here. He played 496. So let me see, That's not that is not by four. How many? How many snaps The dac play since Stack was in an embrace he had 360 Oh, He had. I guess they equate that that out over a full season. I would imagine. I'm guessing how it works. I could be wrong. I'm guessing how works is obviously they great every single play. So you get a great after the game. I'm guessing for deck his as great five. Great in the grade, right? And they just keep that so I keep the five games he played. They don't grate out like they don't. They just say he has an 85 this year in the in the small sample size because they have guys like joint Haskins. Even Joe Flacco's on this You can play a small number. 20. Is there any quarterback that you look at after 20 that you go, all right. Maybe there's a case that he's a top 10 quarterback in the league. Get told me Drew Brees. I don't think he was a top 10 quarterback this year, but they had him at what 21? I think you said. Would say no, no, I'm just thinking Have C E s. We talked, Alan. Have seen North. We talked Baker. We talked borrow. We talked band. We talked to Mar the South. Handle Watson. We already talked about Jacksonville. Forget about it. We talked Rivers F C West. No drew lock. "W M v P They've got, like some cool back going on right now where All they have to do is score one Plath touchdown touchdown of any of the games and you win. $25. So the max bets 25. It's basically giving you a free $25. That's there. Yes, it Z fantastic. They do this often. This isn't like once in a blue moon special, like once a week once a week, once every couple of weeks is where there are odds boost that I profited on last week. The Bears making the postseason last week. I bet on who's did that adds, I think the odds they made that and even money play before that The Bears were favored on that to make the postseason. Well, you knew you had good a good chance when I believe it was the first series of the game that Kyla Murray went out for the Arizona Cardinals. And then some guy came in, and I was asking you guys who he was, and I'm supposed to be the football guy. It's the most nondescript quarterback battle ever and it decided the postseason still married to what they're doing in Arizona. Anybody. Anybody out there? I'd take Kyla Murray in a heartbeat. I take them two sailings. Do you know what's interesting, though? It's just like all of it. This is why the conversations like I've always said it's nuanced and you've got to be patient with it to a certain degree, like everyone was writing off Josh Allen. I didn't think Josh Allen Showed the capacity to improve in a lot of areas after two years. His completion percentage was garbage. He was a bad decision maker. I think its completion percentage when he was in college wasn't very good. You guys in the college football experts in there. Do I have that right, Chris? I like in college. Josh Allen's completion percentage was nothing to be excited about your 5% and like most quarterbacks are going to go on like the first round of the draft. They're throwing like high 60 70% completion percentage. Gosh, Ellen was like Low sixties fifties at times, probably playing in unauthentic. It's not, you know, built on completions and high completion college that's like Zach Wilson was giving you a 55. Percent completion percentage We'd all be like at that guy's not gonna get. My point is, is that like there are a lot and I'm I'm guilty as charged like I wasn't overly impressed by what I saw from Josh allies. It has big arms. Strong kid could run. Can he put it all together? Second half of this season. He's played like an M v. P, and it's him and Brian Table has Azaz helped him along. It's just like the same way you don't write off a Josh Alan. You don't get overly excited about player X until you see that guy over the course of a couple years. So like I I think I think Cuyler Murray's They're really talented player. The Cuyler Murray's gonna have to learn guys how to play from the pocket as well. It's Steve Young, the great Steve Young told us regardless of who you are. You could be d Shawn Watson. You could be Patrick Mahomes. You could be Mitch Travis Key. You could be Kyle armor. You can be whoever you are with athleticism at that position at some point, if you're really going to take your game to the next level, and be quote unquote great, and when championships You will have to function from the pocket at some point at a high level right and look at the two injuries that he severed. He had a shoulder injury against the Seahawks. And then he's had this leg injury. You know, I think a hamstring then the ankle injury in this last game, you know a lot of that's the product of running. You know what? I think? He got hurt on a scramble to do with shoulders so and and maybe I'm Like I don't know what Cliff Kingsbury is doing with him. Like, what are you doing out there? I think a very question is what is Kingsbury doing? That's what are you? What are you doing? Look at his record, Even at Texas title. He was 500 for his career. No, that's my point is, is like you can look at it like to look like crap. I think he did. Sorry. No roll tide in there. I'm sorry. Used to talk, Adam, but that was only because I was I was actually losing money on the Dolphins. One day, Their offensive coordinator just resigned. So they're gonna have a third offensive coordinator. Three years they're all right. I don't know why I got on this topic. I was just kind of saying, like, Listen, it's It's the whole conversation about quarterbacks and offenses, Boy it it can you get on that roller coaster and you ride? Yes, Ugo. I want to read you this list that I've got from Larry Mayer in a minute, But I want to take some phone calls 332. 3776 Roy and Belmont Heights. You're on ESPN 1000. What's up, Roy? Can you say something positive, at least about the Bulls this season? Can you at least do that for me to tell us something positive with them, But not last night, Possibly about the boys and lost. I will say this, Roy. I'm not here to defend anybody other than myself. Yeah, Like last year, I couldn't stand watching the Bulls. I like. "Your voices is recognized around the country. And your enthusiasm and passion for the game of football is obvious on DATs. The one thing I didn't see a whole lot of just from a very from a obviously, from a novice fan's perspective last couple of weeks, they just didn't bring it. You know, honestly, yesterday I thought the intensity level was so much better, but going back to the San Francisco 40 Niners game two weeks ago that to me Really, really bothered me, bro. Watching that you just watching the 40. Niners basically lineup offensively and run the ball down the throats of the Arizona Cardinals. That really bothered me because They had a third string quarterback in CJ. Beth Heard that there were starting out there wasn't Jimmy G wasn't Nick Molins there? Back up. It was the third string quarterback. Basically, the only thing they could do is run the ball for the most part in that situation, and that's exactly what they did in the fact you couldn't stop him. That bothered me greatly When you look at yesterday, and the play in game win and you're in, I heard you were in the pregame talking about that mentality. What is it that they didn't bring? Because we had a We had a backup quarterback in They had their third string quarterback in things were pretty. Even What did we not bring? Yeah, you know, honestly, I just It was the playmaking ability that we've always seen from the likes of calamari. You could see when collar. Murray was in that game, right the difference and how they were able to move the ball COLUMN. Murray when he did play through the ball very, very well. And I think that is a conversation that We've all gotta have about Kyla Murray is how bad was he hurt? I think he was definitely hurt. I know the injury. Morgan Fox came down with the knee right on that ankle right there. You could just see it through. That was bone on bone, baby. If he doesn't let me just say this if Cuyler Marie does not have a hairline fracture or some type of fracture, I'm going to be stunned. Today. If we find that out if he gets an Amar I done and there's nothing structurally wrong with that. He is a tough player. Two. He is not a kid that's known as soft. He's a tough kid. Here's a kid that will tell you right now. He'll he'll be the first one to tell you doesn't like contact. But all I know is this. This kid is lined up for 32 consecutive starts. He came out of Oklahoma. Everyone is like all of the kids. 5 8.5 is 5 8.5, and he's He's £198, and he's not gonna hold up in the NFL. Well, we all found out. It was 5 10 in an eighth and he was £207, of course, and he's played in 32 consecutive games. The kid has gone out when he has been hurt. I don't I don't question this kid's toughness. I don't I question his maturity. He's got to continue to mature as a franchise quarterback on this team. He's a young kid. He's only in his second year. Give this kid some time. Who's the leader on the defense? Or who needs to be the leader on the defense? Because it seems when the need when they needed to make a big stop. They're unable to do it. Yeah, there doesn't seem to be that voice on that defense. The Darnell dockets of that team there anymore. Can I tell you right now, Jordan Hicks has had an up and down season the mike linebacker for the Arizona Cardinals. He's had an up and down season but coming into this game, knowing what kind of game I thought it was going to be, because the Rams are starting John Woolford Ah guy that had never thrown a pass in the National Football League because I thought there were going to line up and try to run the ball. I said Jordan Hicks is going to be my ax factor. He's going to be the guy that's going to get everyone else lined up, because that's what a Mike backer does. He controls that box gets every Buddy lined up in the box Buddha Baker's taken care off the secondary. Jordan Hicks is getting everyone else lined up the physicality. They needed Jordan Hicks to be that physical presence inside. Well, what happens on the very first play of the game? He makes a pick as well. It's just a great read. Great read of John Wolford's eyes and jumping that that was a horrible pick by John offered by the way, but that to me was the X factor that Jordan Hicks brought to the table and then guess what happened. He got hurt. First quarter and was out And so the cardinals were suffering pretty badly. Let's shift to the talk. That happens every time the sea when the season ends Larry Fitzgerald. Yes, I know Larry Fitzgerald. Okay. You know what? I'm going to say this right here for the last three years, bro. I've been saying every year. Larry's done. Where is this is Larry's last year? The Larry's Don't so I'm going to do it. Ah, fourth year in the road right here. Larry is done. Where is not coming back? Just knock it off. He's not coming back. And Larry, if you're listening right now, you better come back. I just don't see him going out this way. Cove in 19 Seasons fans. Not there If there's a guy banged up, Yeah, and if there's a guy that deserves a victory lap around this league for the human being, he is and what he's brought to the game. It's a Larry Fitzgerald. Yeah, I would agree with that. I hope he does come back. I absolutely love this guy. What a class act he truly is and a joy to watch play this game. One of the greatest of all time. I don't care what position you play. I'm talking about a great football player and a guy that didn't shy away from any contact. And what's interesting is that most people have been around him would say he was his equally good human being as he is a football player. Absolutely. And that's why I think if, in fact he is done playing, I think more than anything else. It'll be that desire to go out and start career number two. That won't get him going and headed in that direction. There's a guy like Larry Go to the broadcast booth. Does he go to do something else? I was gonna go do some, like, you know, go work for humanity somewhere. Yeah, I don't. I don't see him going to the broadcast booth immediately. Maybe at some point in time, But, yeah, I see him on safari, for the most part. Taking a bunch of underprivileged kids also, look at the elephants. You know, I did some work with safe into the Paul feeding and you know, one out there for Thanksgiving one year and Larry showed up with a bunch of people and what was so interesting about it was that everybody Larry brought with him jumped in to help. Well, they were just standing around for pictures. They all jumped in to help. Larry was meeting everybody, but everybody worked. It was a cool thing to see. You know, it really is..

Derrick Henry kept him in the game all day and made you play up to you flight but the very last possession in which Tennessee got its Ah divisional championship. Didn't have anything to do with the running back. That's the way the game of football is played a lot of time and certainly and these days I like Derrick Henry a lot loved out my my football team gets He's not going to get a vote for M v. P. For me. My boat would certainly go to Aaron Rodgers. That was a better game to show the Jaguars and the cult's We didn't know the Colts actually could. I guess he couldn't play the Colts. Has a game today because they could have gotten squeezed out. They could have won and not made the playoffs. And that was not the case with wife and football team so, but it was a entertaining game. I'm sure that part of NBC's line of thinking was the Jaguars have not to play for and they're not even going to put up. Resistance will they did the cult had to score in the fourth quarter to get up by two touchdowns. It was a one touchdown game until pretty late in that game. There were a whole bunch of games that you could choose. Here's one that I was leaning toward on Sunday, but I'm glad that NBC wouldn't listen to me. They didn't have to make the call immediately, so they were able to find out. That the Rams we're going to be without their starting quarterback Jared Goff was gonna be out. It ended up that Kyla Murray started the game for the Cardinals. He had some point decided the pain was too much to play in. He pulled himself out of the game they put in their backup quarterback Chris Traveler who I got to tell you. I'm not a huge Chris trouble of fan, former South Dakota product. Turned CFL er turned NFL. Er Yes, He was not very good today, and he cost the Cardinals game. They put Kyla Murray back into the game after the second half. Whether he got a shot to be able to withstand the pain that he was playing in. I don't know for sure, but they eventually pulled him back out of the game because he wasn't capable of playing. That was the game that was on paper that I thought was the best match up, but I thought actually should have been the game that they selected. They did not. They decided to go with watching the football team. Um, it may turn out to be a good game. If you're a giant fan, I guess it's added interest for you. And I give you, uh, Best of luck. If you think it is that important, Feel free to Ah, Check in with me and say, Hey, you know, the Giants can play with Tom Brady next week. You know they can't Did you see Camp again today? I'll give Brady this much. I was critical of the goat Tom Brady earlier this year, not so much because of his play, and there were a couple of games. That was a juncture during the season when Tom Brady was playing a lot like to a tongue Babalola. That? Yes, he was moving the football and yes, he was completing a good percent of his passes, but he wasn't throwing the football down the field at all. Guess that that critique got back to him, and I wasn't the only one. I'm not trying to put myself at a kind of a pedestal that I was called Brady out for this and nobody else was. Others were, too. They were pointing out that Tom was running a pretty good dink and dunk offense for the Bucks. Well, the last month he's been throwing the ball downfield. And the guided he's been thrown it to Antonio Brown was the guy that I was critical about. I didn't think any team in the National Football League should have signed him because I think the guy has Mental issues, and I thought that if they got a week out of him before it got blown up the same way that it was in New England. That was the way that was gonna play out. He's been an acceptable behavior guy down in Tampa. As far as I know, he hasn't rocked the boat at all. In the last couple of weeks. He's become Brady's top target. Now. The first week he came in. Brady threw the ball to him a bunch and I figured that was the case because it was pretty well known that he was the reason a Tampa had signed them because Tom Brady wanted Antonio Brown. They had the one good game in New England. They'd be developed a report and become at least quads. I friends Associates at least and Brady said. Yes, I want this guy. Let's get this guy in your Sinus guy, and they did eventually do that. And I knew Brady was going to try and prove that he was on point by asking for Antonio Brown to be signed. So he got on the football. Well, the last couple of weeks after it already been terminated. Antonio Brown wasn't going anywhere. And if he hadn't caused any troubles, and those like Cody McDonald, who thought that it was mistake to sign him had to eat some crow all he went back to Tom on the football and he was huge today. Brown at a mega game. Couple of touchdown passes over 100 yards receiving caught everything that was thrown his way and did so down the field. I got news for either the Washington football team and where the Giants who ever get to host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next week. Tom Brady is coming loaded for bear. The Bucks are playing good football as they head into the playoffs. Now they have to do it all on the road. They ended up as the 15 in the NFC, which means they've got to go on the road throughout. But Tom Brady has done some amazing things in the postseason. And I think the first amazing thing he'll do will be to take care of whoever comes out as the winner of the NFC least. The 80 into the Washington football team or the giant tip. A sneak in the backdoor. Mr Brady will be waiting for them. I could take a quick time out here and then get the poems up. We got one guest is until our number to one of the teams were already touched on the Arizona Cardinals. Two teams today knew all I had to do is win and they were in They couldn't get the job done. One was the Miami Dolphins, who I will cut a little slack because they were playing the Buffalo Bills who are looking like a team that can actually win the Super Bowl. They went with their started for the first half Josh Alan to a bunch of touchdown passes, But then they actually pulled some of their starters. And they pulled away even more against Miami. So I'll say more kudos to the bills that knocking Miami, But the game was there to be won in the bill that the Dolphins couldn't do it so where they got shut out of a playoff appearance, as did the Arizona Cardinals. Play against the backup quarterback now they themselves had to play with a backup quarterback, but they did nothing offensively on gave up a couple of defense, of course, because there happens was so bad. Yeah, Shame on the Dolphins and the Cardinals, who had the win and get in neither. Which did that We'll talk Arizona Cardinals and all things NFL with Howard Balls from S eyes, Cardinal Site and host of Hall of Fame Show on Sirius. XM NFL Cattle. We talk our balls a little. Later. That's our number two. I'll talk to you here in our number one hit me up 855 to 1 to 4 to 27. It's a Shorty show. It's the last Shorty show I'll do Here. "Just tell your smart speaker to play ESPN. We are shaking Jordan Cornett. Thanks for hanging out with this week, 17 In the NFL, there were seven playoff spots up for grabs. Some of those have already been accounted for. Some have not Let's get to some score updates and let's start in Chicago Bears David Montgomery. Was evaluated for an injury, came back into the game and then had two yard touchdown run that gives Chicago and early seven to nothing lead. So the fast start Chicago no doubt was looking for. So now it is up to this Bears defense to slow down Aaron Rodgers in the Packers and Aaron Rodgers take the field about five minutes to go in the first quarter. Let's see what's going on with Arizona and the Rams. That brands all right out now. Elaine Jonathan Ward had 11 yard touchdown reception that puts Arizona of seven Nothing early. Reminder here, Kyla Murray did leave the game will keep you posted on what's going on with him. Chris Street blurs in now for Kyler Murray Cuyler Marie banged up a little bit this week, Cliff Kingsbury says he's going to go And then early on in that one, he's injured and goes to the locker room for street. Lear's by no stretch of the imagination, Cuyler Murray, but he is a mobile quarterback, and a lot of what they try to do offensively. Doesn't change too much. You're not getting a pocket passer that eliminates the zone read in the QB run game. Traveler does present that just not at the elite level that Kyler Murray does Wen healthy and playing his best football, But they don't have to scrap the game plan. And we again don't know Kyla returns but just a little heads up that at least what systematically they like to do is not deterred. So right now you see John Wall for going up against Chris Traveler in a must win game for the Rams and the Cardinals. Okay, but we put 2020 behind us. That's what's going on right now also must win game for the Colts. With the Dolphins losing the Colts can go to the playoffs. If they beat the Jags today, a reminder the Jags did did beat the Colts. In week. One, However, today might look different. The Colts are already up seven. Nothing was T Y Hilton, who had a six yard touchdown reception and gave Indianapolis Ah lead already in the first quarter. About five minutes to go right now in the first quarter again, Indianapolis already on top seven Nothing also in New Orleans. They are looking for the number one seed in the NFC. They could get that number one seed. With a win and a Green Bay loss and then a Seattle win. Right now. The Saints are already up seven. Nothing over the Panthers, Jared Cook had an 18 yard touchdown reception that gave New Orleans the early lead. J. How much time is left in that New Orleans game? It looks like five minutes and 50 seconds to go in the first quarter so far, safely and seven up and 5 50 left in the first. And if you remember the saints don't have running backs today. Alvin Kamara tested positive for covert 19 and due to contact tracing most of that running backs room is out. So Drew Brees is gonna have to do it with. So you want your weapon, which makes it more important. Want that by just for protocol's sake to me to get tomorrow back Camaro back on the field, You know you're running down your playing all your running back so Does factor in that might becomes that much more important. No doubt about it s oh, that's what's going on right now. Elsewhere. Charges and chiefs are all tied up seven apiece, their chiefs arresting their starters and what will be almost a three week rest for them. Must be nice. So tied up right now. In Kansas City between the Chiefs and the Chargers seven apiece. Broncos and Raiders are tied up at three apiece right now. No score yet between the Seahawks and the 40, Niners Seahawks also in the hunt for that number one overall seed to get it. They would need a win today over the 40 Niners, and then they would need a New Orleans loss and a Green Bay loss. Not out of the question, but they got to take care of business today against the 40 Niners. Titans need a W to get into the playoffs against the Texans. And right now they're up three. Nothing So the Titans are up three. Nothing. Titans would clinch A F C south title with a win or Colts loss. Colts obviously clinch with the wind and the Titans loss. So the tightens up over the Texans three Nothing so far. In this game. Lot of playoff implications going on that will continue into the night. The on Lee Night game tonight would be the Washington football team taking on the Philadelphia Eagles. The Washington football team wins and they are in if they lose, it will be the Giants that will represent the NFC East because the Giants Beat the Cowboys earlier today. Speaking of the Cowboys, I saw Jordan the Andy Dalton had a cut on his hand or something that was bleeding through his glove. It will require stitches per Mike McCarthy. Not that it really matters, though their season has done anyways, I just thought I would Fill you all in on that. So that's what's going on in the NFC East. Lot of playoff implications right now on the line for a lot of teams that are playing. What do you think happened SIDE with? Washington, Washington, Philly Keep in mind filling, not playing for playoffs. Jalen hurts playing. Let everybody know that they've got their quarterback, and it's not Carson went. Yeah, I agree with that. I just think Let's say you have guys that are on the cusp of playing and like you might rush him back. If it was a game, that means something, you might sit him if if, if it doesn't. There's a lot of players that are kind of like that for Philadelphia, because they've been decimated by injuries so much this year and so I don't know that they're going to play. All their guys actually know for certain they're not going to So even though you have Jalen hurts, that has something to prove that Washington football team defense is so good. You get Alex Smith back. I just think there's a little more heart on the line with the Washington football team. I think they take care. Of the Philadelphia Eagles. Let's take it back to the game. We know where your heart lies. You got the Chicago Bears a win. And in this scenario verse the Packers here Packers playing for the one seed, so they're still playing for something. Aaron Rodgers, you're gonna see him for the full 60. What do you think happens in this one of the utmost importance for Mitch Robiskie? Not just for playoff hopes, but for him to show that they declined 1/5 year option in Chicago. Now they're gonna go and pay him. Because he's got franchise quarterback vibes to him. That's what's on the line that first of all I'm seeing. Roque Juan Smith is heading into the injury tent, which makes me very nervous because linebacker for the Bears D is very important to that Bears defense and the Bears defense. It's all hands on deck to try and take down Aaron Rodgers and this very potent Green Bay offense. What I think is that there have been reports that your risky could possibly stay in Chicago. I am fine with that. If he beats Green Bay and wins a playoff game. You want to back up the Brinks truck for him? No. I mean that's not the scenario here, but you will have the opportunity. Potentially say Is this the best deal for he might be feeling suitors, depending on how he looks in this game. This is appointing on if they get to the playoffs. How he looks there. It's a place you would have never thought we would have been in when he was benched for Nick Foles, and even in his return because he feasted on some lesser defense's It's a capable defense is I mentioned statistically, the Packers are top 10 defense. These have playoff vibes because it's when you're in scenario. Mr Muskie's back is against the wall if he comes out here and shines So you might be looking at mention Chicago for a few more seasons as your starter and as your guy in order to be the starter in Chicago, you need to start competing with Green Bay. You need to start beating here and riders in this Packers team and it starts today..

"He's I loved the higher I did. Um And I think I was kind of in the minority in that I thought it was totally outside the box. I love the idea of in 20. Whatever 2080 2019 the number one thing that I want for my head coaches. Can you maximize my quarterback and I got quick, potentially had the ability to do that. He hasn't his scheme has not adapted to what his team's able to do it become super predictable, and the offense has just turned into a pumpkin. It's basically Hey, are you able to get Tyler to throw a seven yard out a seven yard curl. And if you can, if the defense isn't coming up on that, Okay, perfect. We're gonna be able to move the ball if you can't Well, then, let's see what Tyler could be running it and it's just It's totally wasting DeAndre Hopkins. I hate watching their offense, so I was in on them early in the season. I really thought this could work. But the longer that you go, the more questionable decisions Cliff Kingsbury makes late game the offense looks just Constipated consistently. I'm out on them. Um, I don't think that they have any chance of doing anything special in the playoffs, and if I'm a cardinal stand after the season. Would be really frustrated if they decide to run this back with cooking very at the helm because I just don't think he's the answer. And I think you're wasting another year of Kyla Murray's rookie contract and we know how important that is. They need to see The next coach on lock Cuyler Murray, and the best way to do that is while he's still under this rookie deal, Rapid Fire BK here some quarterback questions for next year. Where does Carson wins? Ko? Do I? I'm gonna go ahead and give the stock answer because I think it makes the most sense. I'm going to say Indy. He reunites with Frank, right? No, he's been terrible, absolutely terrible. And like one of the worst quarterback seasons we've ever seen. What a surprise. You see, Not if we see him, Maybe not in a pro bowl level, but getting back to the salted levels here in the next year or two. I still believe in the talent. I still think it's somewhere in there, but I know it's been really, really ugly. I'll go in. What about Matthew Stafford? I think next year they run it back in Detroit. I think two years from now he's either in San Francisco or New England. That leads me to New England. Who do you think they're starting Quarterback? Week one. Oh, I don't know. Um, I don't think it's gonna be Cam. I don't think it's going to be a rookie. I don't know. Man. Is there a way they could get Jimmy G like you Let let's Let's give him that Stafford to San Francisco. Let's get Jimmy G to New England. Let's see what that looks like. There was a time when I thought maybe Dak Prescott whenever the Cowboys were gonna pick in the top three, but that's That dream has now died so all I'll go ahead and throw Jimmy G out there. Why not? Last two players here. What do you think happens with Derek Carr? I think they run it back and Vegas But, man, I don't know what to make of that situation with Groot. And at this point I saw that the other day he's been like Worse than some of the previous coaches in Oakland. His is win loss record. There is awful. I still think Gruden than okay, coach. They need to start having some results, though, so I would Would understand it if they decide to move on. I don't think that's the future there, but I'm gonna go ahead and say they run it back One warrior. I think it's fairly obvious that auto Beckham will not be back in Cleveland next year. Where do you think he lands? Another good one. New England makes the most sense in the world. Yeah, but they need a quarterback if they get a quarter if they get their quarterback situation stabilized. I think that that is the team that makes a ton of sense. But I mean, we saw the model this year, right? It's the young quarterback that needs another weapon. And that's where they ultimately go like we saw that this year with Buffalo, they decided to add a weapon and step on digs for Josh Allen. We saw it in Arizona, so it'll be a team I think was a young quarterback. And cap space. I'll go ahead and say Cincinnati I think they move on from a J. Green at the end of the season, and maybe he just moves over inside of the state ends up in Cincinnati, they give another weapon to Joe Burrow. That is bringing Kylie Be sure to follow him on Twitter at B K Sports talk one of the more promising young host in the country BK. Look at that. I said something nice about you today it was. Why Athletes Want Trademarks for Everything
"Sir ryan. I'm super curious. How did you land on trademarks as something to write about in the first place. Well i was actually working with as an editor on a story. Earlier this spring about the buffer brothers ryan hawkins smith is an editor and writer for espn dot com and he reported on the rise of athletes seeking trademarks which saw an enormous uptick in two thousand. Twenty michael bruce buffer Most people know the michael for let's get ready to rumble. Yes we work on this story. We discovered some numbers that we thought could not be right and the numbers were that trademark alone. That one sentence that michael says in the ring may have netted the buffer brothers north of one hundred million. Maybe three four hundred million dollars over the years but yeah it was bonkers but it checks out that one phrase it's a business unto itself like one of my favorite details. We were working on this. There's a website for michael buffer and. Let's get ready to rumble where you can go and rat out people you have seen or heard using that phrase get ready to rumble and in return for being a horrible internet informant. They will mail us some buffer merge and then they will pursue legal action so i was just thinking as i read all of this. I got a dive into this world. I need to know more. So i want to be very clear about this. Then what's the motive for filing a trademark ryan. If you're an athlete so a lot of trademarks can be quite lucrative. I bet we ended up talking quite a bit about the ones that make a lot of money. The vast majority though are athletes protecting themselves protecting their trademark. Just in case because the reality is when you think about hail murray as big play as that was and as much as it it resonated in the sports world like how much money. How many t shirts saying hail marie are. They actually going to sell like if they're lucky. What fifty thousand dollars. It costs a couple thousand dollars to to get an attorney and to get a trademark so it's actually a really bad business plan most of the time but it makes sense that you would go and protect your athlete like the last thing i think a manager or a business advisor wants is to have to come to kyla murray after murray says hey why am i seeing coffee mugs outside the stadium that have my raise and picture on them so it's mostly about protection. This is also an industry that you say has been not only connected to sports and athletes for decades and decades. It's also changed in the past decade or so. How did that come to be. There's two answers. The short basic answer is that good athletes have management people around them at bigger teams than ever think about this stuff all of the time but i go down a rabbit hole about the more meta answer which is applications went from two hundred sixty nine thousand in the united states in two thousand eight to twice that in twenty twenty Oh a small number actually athletes. So this is a society thing. And so the wormhole that i go down is just how much humans are more cognizant of the idea of celebrity and individual branding than ever before and you could point to social media for some of that. You can point to the kardashians. Maybe even donald trump as examples of successful personal branding

Bengals at the Combine in Indianapolis, taking a closer look at Joe Burrow
"With us here from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis where we will be all week so much going on. I'm waiting next with Adam. Schefter Louis Riddick Todd mcshay and Mike Tannenbaum just to catch you up right now. Here's what's happening today in Indianapolis. It will be a very busy week. At Five o'clock eastern though owners are expected to meet players to talk about the new CBA which could expand the playoffs and move to a seventeen game regular season. We've got forty seven. Nfl head coaches and GMT. We'll be talking today. You're also hear from SEC. Standouts Joe Borough and to a ton of Aloha who also addressed the media earlier today. Jonesboro put on an absolute show as you know on route to a national championship for Lsu setting an FBI. Single season record with sixty touchdown passes and Ditto. While completing a whopping seventy six percents of his passes and not only that but bro won the heisman trophy in dominant fashion receiving a record ninety point seven percent of the first place votes here. Our previous comments from Joe Borough on February seventeenth during a reception. For the Davey. O'brien award. He had this to say I do have leveraged the Bengals have their process and I have my process. We haven't even gotten to the combine yet. There's a lot of things that happened. Leading up to the draft. A lot of information gathered bras. Mother Robin shot down the idea. Her son does not want to play for the bengals. Saying we have no idea where that came from. It's a story out there that has created that doesn't have any substance at least from our perspective here Hasbro earlier today here at the combine. Of course I want to be the first pick. That's that's every kid's dream you know I've worked really really hard for this opportunity and I'm blessed to be in this position. I'm a ball player. Whoever picks me on my go show up? How play whoever for forever dressing? You know. I'm just not going to be presumptuous. About what they WANNA DO I. It's the draft. You guys have been covered it for a long time and you never know what's going to happen so we played a month longer than everyone else and everyone else's been training a month longer than us you know. I wanted to put. I don't I didn't think I'd be able to put my best foot forward here at the combine so I wanted to wait till pro day had another whole month of training and just be the best that I could be when everyone when. Everyone's eyes are on me. You know coming in. If you're the number one pick the teen is picking number one. Is there for a reason? So you're going to have to come in. There's going to be ups and downs and you've got to stay steady through the process. Our research tells us about Joe. Borough is his own man. He's not going to be talked into saying things for other people's benefits so if that's what he said. That's that's fantastic. I'm looking forward to getting to know him getting to meet him through. The process haven't been able to sit down with them yet. But we've got that on the horizon. We'll talk more about Joe. Boroughs plans to hold off throwing here at the combine. But might I'll start with you in terms of do you want? Do you not want to play for the being. You have any issues at all with where we landed at least at this point. No I mean as I said last week Joe Borough at the end he does not have leverage. The bengals have the first pick in the draft. If they want to draft. Joe Joe Borough. That's where he's GonNa go now with that. Said I think it's incumbent upon sack Taylor in the Bengal organization to create the Right Environment. Where he could come in and they could build something sustainable and truly transformative so. I think where we wended. Wendy is appropriate last week. He could've handled that better but to Joe Boroughs credit. I think they tweak things I think they're in a good spot now. He's been well-coached past week. Tower doesn't it. Yeah and Adema to your Do All your contacts. It appears that borough likely young he's projected pick. I still think that's where the bengals ultimately go. And they're sitting there and that's about this a team that needs somebody to revitalize that franchise and they are expected to look to trade Andy Dalton at some point this off season and so when you're sitting there in division with Lamar Jackson there in Baltimore think that they know that they have to get somebody in there. That's going to put some points on the Board Baker Mayfield Cleveland and this is going to be the pick for the Cincinnati bengals. Even Joe was considering trying to exercise some kind of leverage really the only leverage you have is withhold your services and not playing not report even if he was thinking along those lines. Let's say he's doing a deep dive trying to figure out exactly. Just what the Cincinnati offer as far as developing me as a quarterback. Could you blame him? Could you really blame him for wanting to dig? Deep on exactly what? What does the future going to look like during over the course of my rookie contract with this football team would exactly? What exactly is Mike Brown's commitment to go ahead and building out this roster around me because we all know a lot of what's going to happen to him has nothing to do with him and has everything to do with everything that's going to be around him. Just look at the past three or four drafts. And how certain players have benefited from going to certain to certain teams? Just look at l a look at the difference between jar rookie year in his second year. Sean mcvay came in. It flipped his rookie year. People were saying Jared Goff to Canada. All of a sudden his second year is like. Oh wait a minute. Maybe he's not so bad you couldn't blame him. If that was a thought Lewis to that point I also think an opportunity. If you're Zach Taylor to say hey what's happened in the past. It's irrelevant we're going to myself with you and we're going to build something great and we can't worry about what's happened before we have a lot of work to do. But if I'm the bengals if I have a hey coach Taylor. That's worked with quarterbacks. Like you mentioned Jared Goff Joe Boroughs Billy and character. That's a great opportunity for the bengals. Sino three things one. Is that if something were to go on with. The bengals is not going to happen in public and this has been addressed in the past week if it's going to happen behind the scenes so whatever we hear from this point on. Don't even don't even look at it. Don't think about it because it has nothing to do with with what is going on behind the scenes. The second thing is this guy's different cab he beats. It goes a Beatles drummer. He doesn't care what anyone else has done. In the past what everyone else is GonNa do in the future? He's going to do what's best for Joe Borough but the third thing I know about him is he's a football guy he's his. His brothers played linebacker at safety at Nebraska. His Dad's a almost four decades coach in football. He's a football guy at its core. He's from Ohio. Obviously I think when it's all said and done he winds up going in Cincinnati if he's number one overall pick but again. If it's GonNa Happen it's GonNa Happen. Not In the media. It's GonNa happen behind the scenes again. Joe Bro not expected to throw on Thursday. He said he just wasn't ready yet. Not a huge deal. Sam Darnold Kyla Murray. The last two years have opted not to throw here at the combine as well. What did make headlines on Sunday? Oddly enough pros hand measurements the measurable quarterbacks took place on Sunday on the smaller side. Love listen here's what he said after it was suggested his aunt size was small considering retirement after. I was informed that we slipping out of my tiny hands. Please keep me in your thoughts while he's got good company because here's what Super Bowl fifty four. Mvp Patrick Mahomes had to say who had just slightly larger hands than did borough my small Andrew doing great so far all right he should say believe in yet. Here's borough earlier today addressing his hands. Yeah I mean these measurements you can. You can take so much from them if it's a glaring issue on film with turnovers. Yeah it's probably an issue but I didn't have a lot of fumbles or anything like that so I just tried to make a little joke out of it I think it's a non factor I don't get paid to talk about. Measurements and analyze. The measurements like played to play football. So that's what I'm GONNA do. I look we're not gonNA make too much of this question. Well yet about what? They actually do what they're actually measuring here so worry not. We've got a ruler. We've got Louis at. I mean really what you're really trying to do is just trying to measure the expense of someone and they put it down on the ground and you actually hear about guys actually doing hand exercises to stretch their hand as wide as possible although when you're grabbing a football you're actually going to measure from the tip of the thumb to the tip of the Pinky here and this is hard because this is a hard rule and you can't really get good accurate measuring you look tired type by just under nine right. Look I'll give you a non center's Oh that's attention and would have actually done something with my. I mean what's interesting when you watch the tape of Joe Borough? There are situations where people come from behind strip him when he's trying to move up in the pocket and run. I mean that's going to happen if you have nine if you have ten inches so I mean it's not a glaring obvious problem as far as him on the football field and that's why I think it's really. It's just going to be something that will hopefully wind up forgetting about certain the biggest thing is and you know this with all of these drills you know as well. Mike you go back to the tape and you're trying to find something after the fact that says okay. Now I'm going to look specifically at these things so you're gonNA look cold weather rain and then ball security and Joe Boroughs as good as any college quarterback you're ever going to see in the pocket in terms of two hands on the ball and protecting the ball. I saw him in two thousand eighteen the last weekend. In September against Ole Miss. You can go back and watch the tape. My suit was soaking wet when I did the open of that game. It was pouring rain driving rain in anyone who says it doesn't rain in Baton Rouge on a Saturday night is lying to you. Because it poured and he completed seventy two percent of his throws with three touchdowns and zero interceptions in that game. So you go back to the tape and you try to look at these things and what the tape tells you is. He's just fine. You know I had a theory here. I have an interesting experience with hand size so I was forced out in two thousand eight. We were we trade for Brett Farve and just as a fan of sport. I can't wait to go out to the first practice and watch Brett farve throw. There's nothing physically imposing about breath and he goes out there and he's throwing Abe I've ever seen and I ask them like what is the value. Where's this philosophy comes from it? He said you know what Mike I have long fingers and I actually couple of football the way a lot of people throw a softball. I could actually be over the top and that's where I get all my philosophy from just watching my practice. It was unbelievable to watch though. I know as Lewis show. There's a tradition of how we measure hands but finger. Length is actually an underrated aspect of playing quarterback so far so far small hands but long fingers and you know what my pinky and all the time strong throwing football pictures of the five. It's easily the least important finger in the hand and I can't remember it ever being a big factor. It's all there in the grip. The pinky to me doesn't matter. It's archaic. How we're measuring the quarterback's hand span now with that. Said there's thirty four quarterbacks in the last fourteen years who have been drafted that have had hands of nine inches and smaller and really only two of them had any sort of Sustained Success Ryan. Tannehill is one of them and Jared. Goff is the other. That's it so there are thirty two out of thirty four. Who have failed. But are we going to say that he's going to the Joe Boroughs? Not GonNa have success because his hands tells me that the reason for their failure wasn't because they were nine inches weight.

The Bears ended an 'especially disappointing' season with an especially disappointing press conference
"Ryan Pace. You're on the clock despite a disappointing season for Mitchell trubisky. The bears announced that he is returning as the team's starter in twenty twenty. There were however some some changes. The team fired four coaches from the offensive staff including offensive coordinator. And then you look at what happened. The last six weeks of the season season. And this is what I think. Gm Ryan Pace has had on you look at the record. Obviously passing yards. Everything improved but dominique. Are you really buying this statement. Because because from my point of view on the outside looking in D- in the Arizona cardinals say you know. What Josh Rosen Guy? By the way Kyla Murray were drafted number. One I'm glad we got Tannenbaum Outta here because in general managers lie that was a general manager generally lying I at least I hope it was because would Mitchell trubisky show like. It's hard to come back with this guy. Considering the way that he performed. I know we got better in part because the coaching around him got better. They started moving out of the pocket and running the ball with a little more. That's encouraging however it's hard to. It's it's impossible to argue that. He's not wildly inaccurate. And that's tough in this league to be wildly inaccurate. Like he is and I

NBA Draft 2019: Latest 1st-Round Order, Predictions
"And ladies and gentlemen, we have a new mock draft out Mel kiper Jr's three point. Oh is here with us. And we are looking forward to the draft. Mel will join us in just about an hour to talk about the new mock draft. But there have been some changes in the draft specifically one less quarterback. Now going in the first round then in mel's two point oh mock draft. So we have four in the two point oh mock draft with Daniel Jones from Duke rounding out of the last pick of the draft to the patriots in the first round of thirty two. There are only three quarterbacks now in the first round, according to mel's latest mock. And obviously a retirement might be a big reason why and the quarterbacks have changed as well. Right. As far as where they're they're going. Well, Cuyler he still has Tyler going number one derozan. Well in his last draft Cuyler going number thirteen to the dolphins. So now and this draft he hasn't going number one. He had. Dwayne Haskins going number six at a giant Kyle Murray. Going number thirteen to the to the dolphins. Drew lock going fifteen to the Redskins and Daniel Jones going thirty two to the patriots. So as you mentioned Daniel Jones now out of the first round, according to the latest mock draft by Mel kiper, just three quarterbacks Murray number one. The main says Dwayne Haskins at number six, and you start to hear reports that the giants may go defense was six and then was seventeen go quarterback. But right now twain Haskins at six and then drew lock sitting there at number thirteen for the dolphins. Does the only three quarterbacks in this latest first round. Yeah. Going to be very interesting because we know what the giants listen one thing. Dave Gettleman has made very clear he does not feel beholden to tell us his plan. And so I don't feel overly beholden to believe. A lot of what we're hearing coming out of the giants can't because if you've got a guy who's basic messages trust me, I got this. Well, then we understand he doesn't feel like he has to tell us the truth. So as we hear these things. Coming out. We also understand this time of year is about deception to an extent it's trying to manipulate the draft order trying to manipulate the opinions of certain players. So that you can try and put yourself in the best position to get the guys you ultimately want. So it makes it difficult to try and read the tea leaves it is although I have to say on cattlemans behalf. He said all of last spring saquon Barkley is a generational talent with the second overall pick. And that's where he went. Look, I think we all agreed. There has to be a quarterback in the giants future. Whether it's at six or seventeen trade now Cleveland, but it would not surprise me in the least if Dave Gettleman waited until the second or third round to take a quarterback this Dave Gettleman, he created that created, but he he made the term a more of a vernacular in the NFL draft hog molly's when he was the GM of the Carolina Panthers. He loves the big guys to hog mollies. And let's be honest. This draft is going to be decided outside of Kyla Murray. More than anything else about the big defensive lineman in this draft. The hog Molly is on the defensive side of the ball. So depending on your draft grades for your quarterbacks you could take one of those at six and then a quarterback at seventeen it all depends again on your on your draft great. If twain Haskins is highest on the board and draft grades. You don't pass that up. If you have a Dwayne Haskins drew lock. And whatever other quarterback equal in grades. You know, maybe use that seventeen pick baby can trade it up somehow to get one of those guys as I said, this always comes down to grades. Do. You have a choice amongst grades. Are you close enough in quarterbacks where if you don't get one you try and get the other? But we'll see we'll see, you know, one of the biggest changes in from the last two this for Mel was they had the patriots taken Daniel Jones a quarterback, and this one I serve Smith junior the tight end from Alabama going, and that would not be shocking at all you have really three out of the top tight end Hopkinson the kid from Iowa teammate, Noah Fant, and then Smith junior all three likely to go in the first round a three first round tight end to on the same team come on. And what would that tell you as we saw? The patriots jump into the first round and take a running back and Sony Michelle at the end of that. And now to see in the next year three tight ends going. We've talked about this. However, you want to split it. Last year were Quinton Nelson. Went in the top ten in the draft as an offensive guard. We saw roquan Smith going the top ten as a middle linebacker. The middle of the field is worthy. NFL is being built right now. And other teams are starting to catch up to what the patriots have done for years. The way that we've seen teams export that specific area and three tight ends in the first round would hammer that home not denying that. They are guys that are certainly probably more talented than usual tight end groups. We're used to seeing but it's also about value. It's why you see running back taking it to overall by the giants last year. I mean, the other thing is I think they're more interior linemen in this first round then quarterbacks right? Like, a not tackles guards and centers. There are more of those according to males latest mock than there are actual quarterbacks being taken which would be very unusual. So the top five in this new draft that Mel kiper put out is Kylie Murray. Number one of the cardinals Nick both the D N number two to the forty Niners. Number three. Josh Allen the outside backing backer pass rusher going to the jet number four Cornyn Williams. To the raiders and number five guy making a pretty big jump. Devon white going to Tampa Bay at five in the last mock draft he was number eleven to the Bengals now in mel's draft. He is sitting at number five number six twain Haskins seven Joon Taylor. The offense attack from Florida going to Jacksonville sweat, the D N going to the lions at eight Sean, Gary the D N going into the bills from Michigan and TJ Hopkinson. The tight end going to the Broncos at number ten. Here's here's what I wanted to talk to Mel about and one of the issues that I have laid on me big fella with with this draft comes, you know, some some point and one of them is there are few prospects in new first round projection who are making their debuts because of their combine performances. There are four guys who have jumped into mel's first round who weren't out there before again based on the combine combine performances. I don't understand that. I don't I don't understand that. If you wanna say. You looked at the combine to go back and look at tape of them. But to say, they're combine performance jumped them up that doesn't compute to me. Well, I think that's I think that's the assumption though, is because of their performance you went back and look and that. That's fair. That's why I want to ask them. How did this? Make you go back and study them more. Because if you're just basing things off the combine I got a real issue with that. Yeah. I I don't think you would do that or teams. But at the same time, you look at the positions of the majority of the players that would be involved in that. And I think this could be true for teams as well. It's interior offense. It is right. Three interior offensive linemen Terry McLaren the wide receiver, but when it comes to interior offensive lineman. You wanna talk about an area where the scouting grossly lags behind to actually great and overall draft. It's a difficult area for a lot of people to see and understand because you don't have the benefit of a lot of stats. You don't have the benefit of even the combine members necessarily always translating to production. So when those guys go and they paying and they flag in the model somewhere for what they do at the combine. And then you go back and spend some more time looking at a guy like Lindstrom who wasn't going to be a big name. He wasn't like, you know, Gary bradberry from North Carolina State won the Remington award this year. Like that guy was a stud Boston College was a middling. Okay. ACC team this year. So Lindstrom wasn't getting the credit. He deserved even being as good as he is. So you go back now, and even these NFL teams, maybe we're late to the party on some of these guys all of a sudden start giving them an extra. That's why I want to ask I just wanna make sure with Mel that because I'm just reading from the combine performance, and again, let's put a name. To those you mentioned McLaren the wide receiver who is one of the others. Chris Lynch reminder, you just mentioned from Boston College now. Number twenty one to Seattle Eric McCoy interior linemen going number twenty two to Baltimore. Right and the Garrett bradberry. The Senator from North Carolina State who is you mentioned one the Remington award is the best center in the country number thirty one to the LA Rams where they have an aging center, and John John Sullivan. And that was that was one of the things have been saying for the Rams the last couple of years that dynasties been built on the interior. If you land a guy like that good, Lord or you winning out it is. So we'll see how that plays out. Now, the one thing that I find interesting he he has drew lock the third quarterback Mel dozen his latest mock going thirteen in Miami. I'm telling you don't take out Denver at ten in Cincinnati of eleven in play for quarterbacks. I mean. Yeah. Denver made the play for Joe flacco. But John Elway has messed this up a couple of times with all due respect. I mean, that's just outside of getting Peyton Manning. He has not figured out the quarterback spot there at ten they might be in play for quarterback. And you have Andy Dalton with his situation with the Bengals and his contract situation. I, you know, I think that there's a really good chance that they could be in play with a quarterback there, by the way, by the way, Mel kiper Jr's mock draft not the biggest item related to the draft this week. That will have news for you guys. What more on that coming up later? This week

NFL rumors: Kyler Murray seen 'universally' as No. 1 pick in 2019 NFL Draft
"Right. So the NFL combine is about evaluating talent getting ready for the draft. But according to the NFL network, it's done. Done vision has been made on who will be the number one pick in the NFL draft. In fact, it's so certain now that teams that are picking in the top ten of already given up on the idea that this person could be available to them because it's done. He will be the number one pick in the draft. Now, if you don't know the cardinals have the first pick in the draft, and according to a consensus overwhelming consensus, the decision has been made the Arizona Cardinals with the first pick in the NFL draft will select. Cuyler Murray quarterback Oklahoma. Now, here's what they're saying. In terms of Murray, people are beginning to believe almost universally. He will be the number one pick of the cardinals impact team. Speaking of the top ten believe they have no chance of drafting Murray. He's not the biggest quarterback in the world. But he is very big presence at the combine. Now, remember Arizona drafted quarterback last year. Brown named Josh. By all accounts, is is sort of a throwback to what used to be considered the prototypical, you know, quarterback the size and everything else like that. No. That's not a throwback at all. Steve. I I I I would agree with you that there are certain offenses like we see every single season that are going to employ more mobile looking quarterback running a style offense that is different from what we typically see. But the majority of the NFL is still running an offense that is tailored around the need for a pocket passer who can understand complex offensive systems who can read defense's in throw to the open, man. And so I don't think he's a throwback at all. I think he's he's really sort of in line with what a lot NFL teams are looking for. And so you're suggesting that the Arizona Cardinals are going to be looking to trade Rosen. Well, here's the deal. Now, this gets back to the hiring a cliff Kingsbury. You know, how it is? It's a copycat league. So this all came about because clip Kingsbury coach Patrick Mahomes at Texas Tech, by the way without much success. I mean, they were they weren't a top team with Patrick Mahomes as a quarterback running that Texas Tech offense. I mean, he's putting up these numbers that we saw for years. I mean, granted guys all these other guys at tech stack, including clip Kingsbury himself back in the day pouring up these big numbers. But because he coached him. He must know something. I mean, he he must have some of that, you know, Patrick Mahomes magic to him since he coached him, even though he got fired by Texas Tech. But now, here's here's what color Murray said about cliff Kingsbury, he says coach Kingsbury, I know the type of offense he Razzie recruited me out of high school. And I have a great relationship with him. Now, if I were to play under him, I think it'd be a great deal. But I don't get to pick players. I just show up. And I do when I supposed to do obviously be. Very comfortable how it operates the offense. So there is this belief that with kings varies offense that Kyla Murray is going to be a superstar. Now, if you're the cardinals organization, you have higher clip Kingsbury a guy who has a losing record as a head coach at the collegiate level on a flyer that somehow the magic we saw from the breakout superstar the NFL this year. Patrick, Mahomes has some connection to clip Kingsbury. And he could do it with another quarterback that runs a similar style offense as Oklahoma does. And with Kyla Murray, by the way, who set an all-time NCAA record this year for passing efficiency breaking the record. A Baker may have from the previous year and the exact same often. So I ask you right now if you were to put Josh Rosen on the trade bloc. What would he garner or do, you hedge your bet if you're Zona keep Rosen just in case Murray is what you think he is. This is what I would do. This is what I would do. I would either a I would check in with cliff Kingsbury. Make sure that things are going good between he and Josh Rosen as far as sculpting an offense that both parties are comfortable either way. That's something that you're going to do on a weekly monthly basis with your quarterback coach with your offensive coordinator, certainly your head coach who has an offensive mine, and is going to be calling plays most likely if you get the indication sometime before I dunno April first that you're not able to run an offense with Josh Rosen. You look to trade them you look to trade him. I mean, and you start shopping that sooner than later because here's the deal. Everybody's got their war room. Everybody's got their draft board. Everybody is kicking the tires on these prospects. Josh Rosen has played a year and then F L. Now love it or hate it. We've seen what he looks like at NFL level. We've seen him against NFL talent. So now it's time to strike while the irons hot this decision needs to be made. So I would say you still have a month before you have to make that decision. But but the clock is ticking.

Is Kyler Murray the best running QB the NFL has ever seen?
"Said this earlier arguments say it again, and I know a lot of people are going to disagree as they runner. Cuyler Murray is the best running quarterback. That's. Ever come into the National Football League. Even Michael Vick. You can go back and watch which I've done you can also look at the stat sheet. Kyla Murray in his last season or his last two years at Oklahoma average, two more yards a carry than Michael victims and his career at Virginia Tech. He's just a little bit more dynamic because of his short area. Quickness. The last thing I would say is he's one of the best passers to go along with that athletes as runner that we've ever seen. His accuracy is off the charts not quite Baker Mayfield. But it's off the charts. If I'm in the top five, I'm taking Cuyler Murray dudes of football playing Jesse. And you gotta understand that those who are are thrown off by his size. I remember war dome when he came into league and that was listed at five nine one eighty and every defenders listener chops off can't wait to get on them. Play twelve years league, three pro bows? And I never got a square shot on them. And I never seen. Anybody? Get one. Is this like you sit. Yes throws. That's short area space when you get into. That phone move with that guy. And you think you have all the vantage because of your size that quickness he's gonna take four steps before you take your next one, and he's going to be out of there. And I think that's going to play think the real interesting thing for me is always think about the fault mechanisms of the quarterback Cam and the default mechanism if your default mechanism is from the neck up, you'll survive even being smaller, even being athlete gifted even being able to move around. If you're the fault mechanism is from the neck down. You're in trouble. Meaning I'm just gonna take off and run around here and throw my body throw caution. My my body to into harm and all those things they're caution to the wind like if that's your fault mechanism. And so then it comes down to who's actually a gifted quarterback because the gifted quarterbacks when things break down Bill extend the pocket, they'll move around. They'll even escape the pocket, but they're gonna make their decision from here up. Joe and Kenny do that. And I think he can. Yeah.

Eagles' Wentz has stress fracture in back; no surgery needed
"Recovery. Time estimated three months outta college football and plenty of ball action today, Las Vegas bowl number twenty one Fresno state basing, Arizona state, Fresno state, head coach Jeff Tedford sizes up the opposition understand going into this game. We're playing a great football team. Very well coach in all areas of the game, very explosive. It's gonna be a battle. Quicken Loans apply simply understand fully mortgage confidently. We'll continue our NFL conversation. Sam Monson pro football focus lead analyst Sam how you doing? What's going on buddy? I'm doing great excellent. You know, it's funny this week. I heard I don't know if you heard this. But. Greg Williams who to me. Why don't really work in Cleveland locally in the week? And I have no desire for Greg Williams to remain the long-term coach Gregg Williams. I think he's about as old school is old school gets and he referred to some advanced analytics this week. And I almost was brought to tears Sam because well, I think I think that all sports need to have a good balance between old school scouting and new school analytics you'll so many old school football guys are so hesitant look where we are in baseball. Now. Right. The sport is completely run. Everybody has an analytics department in basketball and football is dragging their feet a little bit more in some organizations, but the here an old school coach like Greg Williams referred to some advanced analytics. That was that was wild for me to hear it must have. I don't know if you heard it. But it probably would've made you happy. If you did. Yeah. I think you're right football is behind baseball. And how that kind of stuff is gone, but everybody understands that it can help you how you present it to all of these people know, so head coaches are often the last guy to get on board. But it's because you need to present it to them in in the right away. Now, there's a ton of ways that say the PS database can help is those guys. But if you come to them initially where you know, something they don't wanna hear they're not going to buy. But if you immediately show them something, you know, a fancy pretty grasp the chosen exactly what they've been saying for years, suddenly they're all on board. So I think a lot of teams the league you're just starting to sort of see this time where the analytics guys or people that have been using the stuff within the Bill. Building for years are finally starting to figure out how to present it to coaches added presented to general manager is and you know, the guys bad again in front of the media. And that's when you're starting to see this filter out. I think it's been used a lot within the building for years already. But now we're starting to see those guys use it on a daily basis and get the headline stuff sent to them in a way that they're they're much more comfortable with gesturing at an and actually taking it on board. We're talking with Sam Monson pro football focus lead analysts Sam. Baker Mayfield has had a tremendous season. As a rookie as put up some big old school numbers if you will. But when when you went from a pro football, focus perspective when you guys run the numbers on what he's done. How would how does he great out compared to some other rookie quarterback's of the past? Yeah. I think you do need to go to quarterbacks with a pass because he hadn't shoulders above any other rookie season right now. He's a top ten grade quarterback in the NFL. He's tense overall. Just one physician behind Russell Wilson. So you're already talking about it really really well graded player right off the five. And obviously pro football focus was very high invade your Mayfield coming out were the guy is the winter by for him saying that he was the best prospect in this draft in it really wasn't close to the next guy. I think so far. That's that is being born out. We have seen better performances in the past rookies. I think that twenty twelve season was a pretty incredible year for rookie performances. Obviously it didn't last because RG three in particular had a phenomenal season that year, and then tours and really hasn't been the same player since. But you know, Baker Mayfield is looking as good as we've seen any rookie quarterback. Look probably dating by twenty twelve season. We're seeing some really impressive play from him. And I think his play generally has been better than even the statistics suggest because you had one of the highest rates in the NFL right five and drop rates. And unlike most of the times when a receiver drops the ball, it's an incomplete passes. It's not doing that much damage to your passer rating, or whatever but Baker mayfield's have multiple assets that have been hit his receivers and my hands and ended up as interceptions. So those are taking a sledgehammer to operating over the course of the season. It's ninety three. Point four right now. And this is a season where passing is exploded operating ninety three point four is nice great at the moment. But it's his performance has been way better than that. We're talking with Sam Monson lead analyst pro football, focus Sam, let's talk about another rookie and that saquon Barkley who probably be battling Baker Mayfield for rookie of the year. From an offensive standpoint. There's been other good rookie running back but saquon Barkley make over two thousand total yards this season. How does he compare to Todd Gurley Leonard four nets and some of the other big rookie seasons from running backs? Yeah. I mean saquon Barkley just moved into first edition CFS running back rankings. He's the the number one guy right now through the through part of the season. He's been incredible. He's been everything that everybody who was championing him saying he would be coming out. I think he's been better than we thought. He might be there. The idea that he was a perfect running back prospect that don't think really holds up work holes in his game in particular. This tendency to to be a bit. Reggie Bush in terms of wanting to balance everything outside to look for that clay, but he's gotten a lot better in his first year at not doing that at taking ugly yards when they're there. And that's all there to be had. And it's still maximizing goes explosive plays getting huge games. Those are there. So he has been fantastic. I think again he's been as good as any rookie running back the receipt for a number of years. Really? He's I guess he's played as well. As Alvin Kamara did last year as a rookie on he's done more fulltime base. So he already has you know, two hundred more snaps than Kamara managed all last season playing that same kind of rate is Amari Cooper. Has memorial Cooper's play been much better. Or is just a the players around him made him much better. I think it's a bit of both, you know, playing wide receiver it so difficult to play. Well, if the ball isn't coming in your direction off the ball is coming in your direction in attachable manner. Having you can do about it. There's only so much fancy route running against air. You can do if the ball isn't coming your way. So I think we're seeing Amari Cooper was always a quality route runaround player that would get consistently open. And now we're seeing what happens when you target that guy. He's still a very good player and I play put up big numbers. And obviously, that's that's meaning that his greatest better because he's being given the ball and that talent is being maximized. So you know, I think that that was always there that that talent that play was always inherited his game. Even in Oakland. The raiders just weren't making use of it. We're talking with Sam Monson pro football focus lead analyst. Sam. I know you guys today had an article about projecting Cuyler Murray's pro potential. I'm curious because obviously he's a top ten pick and major league baseball. He's giving compared to Ricky Henderson. He signed a four and a half million dollar bonus. There would have to give it back obviously at a even a better year than Baker Mayfield did this past year in college, which is hard to believe. But obviously, you know, people make a thing about the thing about Baker mayfield's hike, which I thought was over rated. But obviously calamari isn't even close those big as as Baker Mayfield. A what is his potential d do you think he could be a good NFL quarterback? I think he could be, you know, you're right people that the highest the big question Mark because people did make an issue out of Baker Mayfield. Tighter on Baker Mayfield is short for an NFL quarterback. But not, you know, it's not unprecedented. We've seen quarterbacks Baker Mayfield type successful in the past. They're not obviously, not as many as there are as you know, six with three quarterbacks, but those guys have existed and they've been good in the past. I don't I don't know that we've ever seen quarterback that is Kyla Murray's Hite house significant success at the end up, right? You know, he is going to be when we get the official number on him. If it ever gets that far he's going to be significantly shorter than even a guy like Russell Wilson. And you would be in legitimately uncharted territory. When it comes to that. Now, if you're going to do that, you have to be there has to be something else to say, well, okay. That's not going to be a problem because of this and his grading has been incredible. His is great this season at Oklahoma has been basically everything is as as good. As Baker mayfield's grade had been on that was the best we've ever seen from a quarterback, right? The best seasons we've ever seen at college with one of his own. So he has a level of the best play. We've ever seen coming out of college from a college quarterback. And we've been doing this going back to two thousand fourteen but we've seen some pretty good quarterbacks over that's fine. You know, we went back, and we also graded James Winstons freshman seasons. We have got Carson Wentz you got Jared Goff. We've got right.
