"Better than him. Other than lamar jackson. There's nobody better than them. Other than lamar jackson now. Russell wilson can move to chains and russell wilson extend plays and we get all of that but but the threat that column murray is at running the football this dude is something to behold then when you take that into account and you look effected. You've got de'andre hopkins of course. Aj green and others. I'm just looking at any christian kurt. Let's not get him. All's got wet. He's got weapons. He's got weapons but he himself is a very very lethal weapon. And i'm gonna tell you right now. I can't sit up there. And look at a russell wilson who i got mad love and respect for and say even at this particular moment tom at right now at this moment baseball for these first two games that moving forward this season that i would take him over column. Murray i think colin murray has put us all on notice. It's a new day and he is coming. Listen this just takes me to beer. Sanders emmitt stim- smith argument man. People always bear could've done this beyond the office. Linus he'll do. We get caught up in with dynamic dynamic is beautiful. Consistent is greater dynamic is incredible and his highlights book assistant is super bowl championships in arizona dynamic but in about that ringling thing home. And i'm telling you right here. Right now tyler. Murray is so dynamic but russell wilson is consistent and he could bring home that ring thing. That's what makes this. You want to talk about this season alone. He's asked i to gave ross forty nine forty six past the rate. He's rolled over three sixty yard touchdown. Amy's i two weeks. That's not just talked about what he's doing right now. Let's talk about the persistent greatness of russell wilson because how many games in this league determined in those last two minutes So many in no one. No one is better than russell. Wilson in those last two minutes tie for first and fourth quarter combat. Tie per game winning drive right. Nobody is better. I'm taking russell. Well let me say this you if you talking resume. I'm not disputing that column. Murray's resume doesn't compare with russell. Wilson's i'm talking about what we're looking at right now right and i'm gonna tell you also something that you that you didn't bring up but i would ask you to bring it up. Russell wilson has been playing under pete carroll column planning to kingsbury who didn't achieve much in college. I don't believe ever deserve the head. Coaching job but i will give credit to where credit is due. He's doing a good job right now. That's all okay. And so. When i look at it from that perspective i'm just saying to myself. Excuse me in the end when it comes down to is. That column has been putting us on notice as we've watched the arizona cardinals. I don't recall any gains when we've looked at them in his career where we said it was him. He ain't the one that loses games for the arizona. Cardinals is usually something else and now that they've elevated their personnel and you combine that with elevating his level of play because he's got more experience. I'm telling you right now Column maria special talent around but looking them did he creates inappropriate merits because they they were looking for each other four longtime and we we talk all that was doing but we know that marriage got loose shake. So it's russell's does this thing that he does in spite of not not not going with the perfect marriage but he's still produces any doesn't make mistakes. It's incredible player. He does kyla. Moore's demand but but russell wilson is right now. Got me mr steady. Kyle second-best odds to win mvp besides mahomes and then keiler. Tom brady for nine total touchdowns most in the nfl. We've had a game tonight. Bad man monday night. Football the packers looking at bounce back against the lion to win last in the packers were catching a beatdown. "Golden state warriors before they went to the championship. They was just trying to figure it out. And then all of a sudden steph was boop boop in clay draymond and you know and then all of a sudden it became must see tv right in because the story was there. And i think with these other teams. The story is there if jaanus was healthy and with the championship. I don't think you can tell a story about the bucks like that. I don't think that many people on the national level is that interested in the milwaukee bucks. Don't you think though because he was two time. Mvp his aura. it would be even everybody. Everybody feels different about yoenis. In the mvp's many people feel different. That's a good point. I mean a lot of people feel they do. It's almost like the joker people feel different about those. Mvp's in that's and i think that's partly because when you win two times in a row and you ain't even got to the finals. It's like why are you getting this award. So in if they don't make it this year people are gonna be out on milwaukee unionist. They're going to be out on the one thing too though with milwaukee. Is you know this is a team that is i. I don't wanna say struggling to get that national appeal ain't gonna get it the whole. Let's be honest with each other. They're not going to get in. Though there's nothing in my opinion is nothing. They can do to going to garner national appeal. They may get some international stuff going because jaanus but a national. I don't think so. Yeah i just don't i don't see in. Yeah yeah and a lot of big because like you say the cast of characters you know. Middleton's a quiet guy cast of character. Yeah drew got good player. Y gotta figure out how to create. A story is already a story for the clippers. The story is they'd be really bad for very long it now. All of a sudden they're in a championship. You have a story you could tell around chris. Paul monti devon booker young. You could tell that story okay. And then you got atlanta. Yeah atlanta trae young. Second communist steph curry. Oh my god look at him but will woo. Oh he from fifty feet our you know he pulling up. Suzy cross court right. You can tell that story and it's atlanta. Yeah you're right. Welcome to atlanta with the players. Play of course k. Jay z is presented by progressive insurance. All the guests appear of course on the goodyear hotline including jerry colangelo. Who's gonna join us in twenty minutes but first let's get back to the nfl. All right. we gotta talk about some coaches. We gotta talk about some quarterbacks Possibly on the hot seat going into this season here K. keyshawn j. will zubin presented by progressive insurance. And so let's start. Let's start with their on. Quarterbacks head coaches duos most pressure on them in on the hot seat and give me one that for you that comes right off the top of your head. Key that you say they. They need to come out and perform my hometown. it would be the los angeles rams. I'm not a rams fan. Believe it or not in when you look at it. it's everything that they did to acquire. Matthew stafford sean. Mcvay went in in sudas. The season was over. He said. I can't play with jared goff. I can't win with jared goff. I gotta get me a guy that can run my offense in. Give me what i'm looking for. Oh matthew stafford's available okay. Let's give up to was jared. Goff get rid of that contract less absorbed whatever matthew stafford has left on his contract so now we get to the super bowl kim because i believe that matthew stafford could extend my coaching career in los angeles but also make a better football team. Because he won't do some of the dumpings that made me met with jere golf. Okay that's a lot of heat. That's coming down sean. Mcvay bright matthew staff and a lot of eyeballs. Going into a new stadium this year. They'll be able to pack the stadium where they didn't in cove clearly. So you got all those sorts of little ancillary pieces that subplots has gone on in la for the rams. So i hear what you're saying and what about indianapolis because you go and get carson winston here and annapolis indianapolis frank reich. One of my former teammates certainly is a pressure cooker. Along with carson wins. It was problematic for him in philadelphia. Things didn't work out inside the locker room or on the field after a while coach. Kitch fire then he says basically. I want alfred. Rice says i could fix him. They had to move on. And i would have moved on from philip rivers as well because philip rivers a little older longer in the tooth. He did as much as he could for. Indianapolis colts took buffalo down to the wire essentially added opportunity in that game. many times. the win it didn't do it now. You bring in a young carson. Listen it was the second pick overall in the draft. Help lead a team to a superbowl. Although he didn't play in the playoffs or the super bowl he's still showed flashes of potential greatness at the quarterback spot. If his mind is right right which is seems to be coming out of indy. He could be a pretty good quarterback again. I think at the beginning of the week we were talking about. Obviously the league in one of the teams you talked about was arizona in cliff. Kingsbury and kyla moore. I think a lot of pressure cliff kingsbury as well as customer column areas planned for a contract extension fifth year option pickup cliff teens burying my opinions playing for his job a coaching for his job. Because you can't take a guy who had no experience on the pro level and say hey we're going to bring this innovated offense to the party. Oh it's exciting. We're going to do all these sort of things and yet and still in your fourth year. You still don't make the playoffs like you make the playoffs. You ain't scratched you win a couple of good games. You have a hill. Mary wins a game against buffalo. And the in. Oh my god. This is exciting but you wind up in the same spot. You were in already which is not going to the playoffs. How many years or you're going to be cincinnati bengals or you just gonna keep coach around just to keep coach around at some point in time steve time alone with cliff kings beer and kyla murray have got to figure out how to get this team into the playoffs in a tough division and not to mention. Jj watt they bring in. You got aj green going up in there now. You got him across from de'andre hoppy so you got weapons. Yeah no. They got some weapons..

"I think this offense is definitely August tendency to throw a lot and throw often and short passes rather than longer passes. I'm not someone that does a lot of college football goal but I have heard a lot about the cliff Kingsbury offense and that certainly seems to fit the narrative that you throw it short more often than not like Larry. Fitzgerald has like a eleven point four eight don't right now. Kristie Kirk is like ten point two and then demet bird and getting that seven point six target Adolf from last week and it might be a matter of if going along the GonNa start using keyshawn Johnson and if they're going short demand bird gets a cool and that's where the wide receiver three flip in week two because they have very dissimilarity dots keyshawn Johnson is very clearly being us further down the field and then demand bird was last week so there might be something in that but again it's really hard to with two weeks the problem with all predictive prediction the NFL any old way is that by the time we know for sure it's too late. Everyone already knows right but try to see into the future. That's what I'd say. I'd say stick with Larry. Fitzgerald and Kristen cut they. GonNa get some outside work. Maybe a flex keyshawn Johnson sometimes he's got high outside with higher dot but yeah I I. I think we're GonNA continue to see the this fast shorter and high volume passing game for sure It's funny because everything we're saying yeah. Go ahead. Sorry Juju. Smith Schuster has a similar age to Larry Fits Jail Gerald and he's being used a lot more on the outside right so like like I don't know sorry. What are you going to say no. I was just saying that everything we're saying. You know it's kind of like you know you. Keep saying you know it's only second week. It's only going into their week and they're kind of suck so we have to to do that but it's also at the same time you know we've seen a lot of people causing fuss on twitter and stuff like hey you guys are taking victory laps too early. you know everyone's getting excited about things so they have projected to be right or whatnot I did. We did think it would be fun to kind of take some victory laps premature victory laps here I think you really should okay. I've got a very strong stance on this on twitter is everything in the NFL is temporary. I mean I enjoy it while you can am. I Like I do the same thing unlike you've got to say. It's only two weeks. You've got to cover yourself man because you know the trolls be vicious and if you don't give yourself the out then they will come after you so you gotta give yourself the APP but you really should enjoy as it goes because it's none of it's going to last very long. Yes sir. I'm here for it. Let's let's do it right now. Then guys and to Sube clearer guys. We must say that this is the only place you could be premature. I don't want you guys having relationships. Don't don't bring that out here. Get this straight down injure relationships. I'll let you start. take a victory lap. I man well it the trolls get after you first so go ahead and it takes you guys can take as many as you want it because I wa- for this so you guys can do one. If you want you can do three. I really don't care stick to one and I'll go with the one that like glide so cleanly cleanly into a we're just talking about which is that I was all over Larry Fitzgerald coming into this year. He was my zone all target. I felt like he was being severely verily under drafted both based on his historic hall of fame profile and his expected usage in this area at offense and so so far through two weeks. It's just been like blatantly obvious to me that he's going to be exactly what I predicted to be coming into this year which is another year of being a top twelve feet wide receiver. He currently sits at wide receiver twelfth through two weeks but the things that really blown me away is his usage and how he's being used through two weeks. He's seen twenty four targets. He's had back to back one hundred yard games. He's top ten in air yards and he's leading the League right now. In targets inside the ten yard line and all of those things just add up to be a fantastic player fantasy and I think that the most exciting citing thing is that that offense is really like just in its infancy and as the year rules on Kyla Moore is going to get more comfortable in that offense and I think that the the upside is still there and he's already hitting what I had expected for him so I just I can't wait to see what the rest of the this season holds. I think that it's going to be distorted year for them yeah. I I have no problem in that. I was one of the people who say this has got to be too old. At this point. It has to happen at some point at some point. There has to happen in him if he's not proving me wrong again. I it's just always a good idea by fitzgerald and just is tape won't be it's going to be like Frank Gore Larry Fitzgerald on the very last NFL team. Let's just admit that so I'll take mine I was this is more of a it's very premature. It's almost like a relief lap. I see Rashad any get some work. At this week that week. One was was not not okay with Chris Carson taking all of it and the just I know he didn't blow up or anything but the victory is coming for Rashad. That's fair. That's fair. That's fair. I'll take mine to then really quick. We'll let ah special guests go lasts. You guys are fucking rude just jumping on that too. I'm actually going to go with my raiders. In general like Darren Waller her. I was calling forever Tarot Williams. I was trading semi walk INS forum. I won't point or another so I'm just glad to see those. Two guys have success even without a be either and I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing at this point how that played out but I'm happy how how how they've done so far and I will say that Josh and I don't care who likes pf for not but I did see a staffroom pf that after two weeks jacobs is their highest greeted first round pick with overall greater eighty nine point eight again. I don't know how you guys feel about. PF If f but also he's not only highest-rated rookie what he's also the high sites highest graded running back through two weeks so take dash tack that all right take your victory lap. Peter go have to you have to I got so much right. It's hard to I've been using my timeline mostly to give everyone else opportunity victory lap because everyone against it like everyone's like Oh. It's too early and you know you just wait and see and this guy is going to eat his lunch so like I like having a place where people can just come and tell me the wrong like Marcus Brown seriously asleep say I do have some reservations still but I seriously think people should take a victory lap on that Terry McLaughlin metairie Makola Lynn or whatever his name is seriously owning me like the most unproductive player at school like like it was insane and yet here he is an like a twenty percent the teams targets week Jetstar but like with a million a dog or something like that and put numbers like I think those guys really does that stand on a hill no not to rewrite the likelihood that play like that at she breaks out like I'm very against that but I think those guys some victory. Let's I guess like I was just looking at that breakout thing that I did for the Aleph and like all of these guys are hitting right now like I killed this shit. I love it strongly. I trying to avoid being the SMUG guy because I come off a smug naturally anyway that like I'm GonNa take an unusual one like everyone now owning me from maclaurin runway similar type of group telling me that. Dj Mold can be wide receiver one and last year and yeah. I have that feeling right now. I don't like he's clearly the wide receiver warm the offense two weeks. He's giving you ought to talk twelve. We are a wide receiver performances even with Christian McCaffrey on the team and Cam Newton you know doing Cam Newton things and DJ malls go to twenty-eight percent target hsieh. He's good he's really good and the Harry is GonNa be good a two because he is gets on the field so an early and an unusual victory lap for you. That's what I love. Didn't that feel good to get off chest guys for three laps. Maybe we'll do one every week. Who knows that was fun all right yeah. Let's let's go ahead. We'll jump into some of our regular segments that we do here. Peter the first one that we do is trust issues where I'm GONNA throw out names of players and you can let us know everyone can jump in on this of course and you you can either just say whether you trust them or you have trust issues or you can get really in depth on why that is. It's totally up to you guys. the first player that I'm throwing out there and I'll let I will let Peter Start because Komo last before the first. I want to hear your answer. I can copy them know. What was the trust issues with right right now yeah. The first player we're going to talk about is Mike Evans Trust or you have trust issues such a complicated relationship with Mike. Evans sounds like I've spent years talking about how he's not as good as everyone thinks he is. He's been strongly overdrafted in dynasty to like god-like status given you one season that actually paid off off and stuff like that but the fact he's been the target hog on the Tampa Bay buccaneers really Kombi denied and so like it's getting close is to flipping so at this point. I'm saying trust like Chris Godwin's like I'm much more efficient player. I love Chris Win but now the market has shifted to believing the Chris Goblins GonNa be you know the only fantasy relevant wide receiver. I guess on the Tampa Bay buccaneers like I would continue to trust it. Mike Evans am because I think he's still gonNA put up pretty decent numbers for us this year right eventually yeah and he made his way to this list because I seen Josh debating on twitter going hard in their pain pain. Have we ever seen a wide receiver. Go from being like a thirty percent guy to twenty two percent guide..

"And that is Kyle berry being the number one overall pick. I like Kyla Murray as a quarterback now he is small we've seen small quarterback still have success before. Whether it's drew Brees or whether it's Russell Wilson. This was the cardinal saying they're going all in on cliff Kingsbury, he's their head coach. He knows Kyle Murray. He wanted calamari, and they said even though they drafted a quarterback in the top ten a year ago, and they didn't give him a real opportunity last year to succeed and really see what he is. They elected to go with Mberi and then ship off Josh rose. Into the Miami Dolphins. And if you're a dolphins fan, you should be happy about this one because you give up a pick in the sixties in the pick number sixty two and you end up getting a quarterback that went ten overall. And you didn't take a quarterback this year? Where the quarterback class was not dude as strong as in years past. So I'll be very compelled to see where the dolphins are in a new version and five years if the new regime is still there in five years what Josh Rosen does become and then forever Zona, Steve calm and cook Kingsbury are going to openly be judged based on the success of Kyla Moore. Yes, you have to go and prove his team in other ways you have to improve the offensive line yet to make the defense better. You have to find a way to eventually replace Larry FitzGerald this organization, though, because of the decision that they made moving on from one quarterback without really knowing what he is that investigates ten picking them a year ago and then taking a quarterback at number one where you could have drafted a defensive player. This organization's going to be defined that how great column Mary can be. So that's the cardinals. Then we move onto the giants. You know, I feel. Daniel Jones pick. I was surprised by it. I think if you ask a giant fan, would you rather have saquon Barkley and? Let's say Josh Allen, and let's say Dexter Lawrence. Or would you rather have saquon Barkley? And what they've actually did drafting Daniel Jones, and then also Dexter Lawrence. I would say the giant fan assuming they could have acquired Josh Rosen via trade would have much rather had choice one compared to choice to. Here's the beauty of the sport though. And I don't know how many games you watch this year we can all bitch and complain about the pick by the giants. We can all make fun as we did yesterday of Dave gentleman's pathetic explanation. It's a prove it league. A guy that's going to join us at the top of the hour. Phil simms. He went to more state. He was picked seventh overall nine hundred seventy nine NFL draft. He was booed as well was not accepted at first he ended up winning a Super Bowl MVP. So Daniel Jones can do the same. Do. I think he's going to be a superstar. No in how the giants approached the last two years passing up on Sam darnold. Not taking Dwayne Haskins not trading for Josh Rosen. There are things to question. And if you have value at the move, there's a lot of reasons why you should be pessimistic about it. And I don't trust. Dave gettleman. He got rid of Odell Beckham junior. And then this is the guy he takes at quarterback where he passed up on Darna last year and elected not to take Josh Allen this year the defensive player from Kentucky. And really the giants are going to be linked with the jets because they passed up on darnold, and they're also going to be linked with the team that they see two times a year and the Washington Redskins because the Redskins played this draft nicely. They didn't have to do anything to make any trades. I'll add to do is make picks and that first round and they ended up getting Dwayne Haskins. So very very very nice move by the Washington Redskins to get twain Haskins and. Let him fall to you at fifteen and then by the way..

"Talk to Daniel Jeremiah NFL network analyst. He's a former NFL scout. He had a great tweet yesterday. Just to give you an idea of how much information misinformation is out there. He said over the last twenty four hours he had heard the following Redskins. Moving up for Wayne Haskins Redskins moving up for Daniel. Jones. Giants moving up for drew lock giants. Take Jones at seventeen titans. Take lock Bengals take Haskins Bengals not taking a quarterback lions trade back and take a quarterback. That's what you're trying to decipher because you hear so much information misinformation. And you're not quite sure when you try to sort it out here. But today you'll start to hear some things a little bit later on this morning. I've got some Intel from an NFL scout on what he thinks. The giants are going to do he still thinks that Kyla Moore? He goes number one overall, that's the general consensus right now at nine zero one eastern time the Cuyler Murray goes number one, that's the scouts who were saying this. They. Kayla. Marie still goes number one. You start to talk about what is need. What is important when you take a quarterback? Do you trade up? Do you trade down? When can you get the quarterback you want my philosophy with a quarterback is the following? If you love him at seventeen and you have an opportunity to take him at six take him at six if he's that good taking when you can. Because if you're gonna wait if you're the giants, and you go well, we need a quarterback. But we don't need a quarterback that bad that we're going to take him at six we're going to wait and see if he's there at seventeen take him at six eight seven.

"You have this week the better what about sending his scouts home that they're not going to be involved on Thursday night or this weekend in Nashville. Yeah. I think that was blown a little bit out of proportion. Just because you know, it's not totally out of the ordinary that they get Easter weekend off. And I think it was expected that there would be a lot of overhaul or turnover in the scouting department after the draft because if the new GM, I mean, you need the scouts up until the draft because they've done a whole season's work of worth a whole season's worth of work on these college guys. But I think the one thing that maybe was a little eyebrow. Raising was that they they wouldn't come back, and that, you know, whether it be signing undrafted free agents or guys in the late round that may Gruden may need input on these scouts reportedly won't be there to do that. So it was a little surprising. The not coming back part and how they're staying home for good. But in terms of sending them home and then on the back end eventually not coming back. I I wasn't too surprised by that. And if there's anything I take away from it. It's that may like is over. Compensating for kind of his tendency and the tendency this time of year for for leaks to get out, and there have been leaks in the building as recent as last year, and even so you know, a couple weeks ago. So I think it's now just being overly cautious in his first year as a GM, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I don't think that should be cause for concern. If you're a raiders fan would have found if you took a poll their perception of Derek cards what? That's interesting. I think it's probably about seventy thirty in favor of Derek Carr. And that's pretty much. What raiders Twitter has been all the talk about. I think if you pull Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock gets a little higher. I think raiders fans realize and the NFL world realizes that. Derek Carr needs more around him. I mean since he broke his leg in that second last regular season game of twenty sixteen. He has been nowhere near the same quarterback. But that is also because last year he had Jordy Nelson. As is number one wide receiver for the majority of the season after they traded Amari Cooper. He's had the offense of line last year that allowed him to be sacked fifty one times twenty sixteen and twenty seventeen combined. He was sex thirty six times. So I think this year you've seen it with the additions of Antonio Brown tyrel Williams making Trent Brown the highest paid off -fensive linemen in history. This year's really about surrounding Derek Carr with those pieces and seeing who the true Derek cars. 'cause I really don't think he's guaranteed coming to Vegas with the raiders next year. I guess that being said that's why I don't think they're going to draft a quarterback this year. I think they're going to get him one more year. But then after this year, I think anything goes if Conor Murray falls he's there at four what are the raiders to? I think they trade back. You know, I think will be there. I think it'll go Quinton Williams Bosa Josh Allen, assuming the jets stay put. And I think the phones at raiders HQ are going to be buzzing off the hook. And may has talked excessively about not wanting to trade back but wanting to add picks in the thirty to sixty range because he feels especially in this draft. That's where a real hotbed of hidden talent can be. So I think if Kyla Moore is still on the board at number four you're gonna get teams like Washington like Miami buzzing on your phones wanting to trade up ahead of the giants. If they think they're going to pick Murray or even doing Askins who knows maybe doing Haskins is the number one quarterback everyone's gonna cut it in this draft. So I think if Kyle Murray is still on the board at number four the raiders resist that temptation as much as Jon Gruden loves collar Murray. And does he's a quarterback guy. He's a good player, we know much he loves him. But I do think they trade back to middle of the first round..

"So what that actually is. I don't know. I have some thoughts. Maybe it's Devon white. Maybe it's a quarterback Dwayne Haskins or Kyla Moore. If he's there maybe it's an offensive lineman. No one has balked them. They're a tackle perhaps. But from what I understand it's a pick. That should surprise us at number four. All right. Well, what would surprise you? If Cuyler Murray falls to number four. I'm not going to be surprised if they take him if they take a defensive player a pass rusher. I'm not. Going to be surprised if they taken off into linemen. Okay. I'll be surprised if they take a defensive back. I'll be surprised if they take punter. I'll be surprised. They take a running back. Okay. I'd be surprised if they take tight end then. All right. That'd be a little bit surprised. Like, I don't know. What's going to be shocking? Surprising move here. Mclovin. I mean, they did take a kicker in the first round Jeddah. Caskey was think. Go ponder at number four overall. That would be a surprise. Yes. It would I would be truly surprised there. But we'll check in with a match Neiderman. He covers the raiders for the San Jose Mercury news. He'll join us coming up. All right bucks. Close out the pistons Jaanus. You know, you just start to see somebody building a resume here. He's going to be the MVP. I felt that way for most of the second half of the season. But he's getting those nightly highlights, that's what you want. You may not tune into the box. But when you see some of these highlights that he has whether it's you go from one foul line to the other new take two dribbles, and you dunk you're gonna make sportscenter. And really that's how you start to carve out a career a resume. A legacy is making highlights. Now, you wanna make those highlights in the postseason because then that will make your brand even stronger because Russell Westbrook is probably going to throughout his career be a highlight guy a stat guy, but will have nothing to show on that resume. He'll be one of the great players of all time because we'll look at him because of the triple double that he's done now three years in a row, and you're going to go. Wow. What a great player he was. But those who watched him when he was playing so twenty years for now when people look back on Russell Westbrook. They're gonna go. Wow. Oh, he must have been really great. He was very talented. But he didn't have a team that did anything in the postseason. You know, he'll he'll be a guy in in. You know, the NBA has players like this stats without results in Russell Westbrook will probably be a stat guy without result. They had the Golden State Warriors on the ropes. They ended up losing. And that's as close as he's probably gonna come to an NBA title. And I and I do like him. I'm fascinated by them. I just I don't think he's a playoff guy and regular season got. And there's certain guys who were just built for regular season. You know this night two nights later another big night two nights later another big night. But in the playoffs it's you got one game. And then you face the same team again. And then you've got another game and then the same team, and you got to be able to figure them out because it feels like they figured you out. The blazers are saying to Russell Westbrook. Go ahead and shoot. And you know, what he's doing he's shooting? He's playing. Right into their hands. Doesn't mean Oklahoma City won't win this series. They could come back maybe they win tonight. But I look at Russell Westbrook and go he's just one of those guys who's going to be there'd be a fascination with him when he's all said and done, and there are other guys, you know, Pete marriage was like this. He was just a stat guy. But his team didn't do anything Alex English with the Denver Nuggets was a great stat guy. Dominique Wilkins was a great stat guy. But you know, he's always going up against the Celtics say never got that chance play for an NBA title. You're going to have these players throughout history..

"I play with his father Atlanta, nineteen ninety six ninety seven ninety five one of those. His father. This kid has all his father's. Ability. He had better football football smarts off the charts. But is that an important position, though Lewis that that would be my my question, you know, what a great question the game things. Dan, the game as far as how people were attacking you on offense has become critical had great athletes smart athletes in the middle of the field at linebacker that say that's why roquan Smith drafted as high as he got by last year. That's why it's gotta go top shifts. That's like different Bush is going to go top ten some Michigan this year. You better be able to defend teams that can attack with tighter the middle of the field where you're not allowed to hit anybody for some great athletes who teams you up between the numbers right down the field. I down those down. How New England has made the best league. Look silly. They started doing it years ago with Gartner. Then does they still do it? Now. Now, they just change their flaws in a little bit has got older. They started sparring backs. That's birkhead James the guys who catch passes over and over again going. How's Chris doing? This has always been a house ahead of the curve. You better start catching up as far as getting athletes in the middle of the field. Middle linebacker, either not call with physicians anymore. They're just not don't have them. Stop anybody in the NFL. Maybe that's what the league one that kind of Hugh Hewitt that way as a as a team, they're not gonna stop anyone. That's why you're seeing more and more. Guys, play defense like that combat something hybrid Titus better have been like. Why did Clinton Nelson go with high tea did to the Annapolis last year? Well, more teams are looking for Fletcher. Cox Donald why. Because all the best quarterback says it me to tackle. If I ever because the tackle that sort of just absolutely just me right up the cliff to play like Aaron Fletcher that could best rattling getting off of. Well, the only way you can bet that's causing Donald is quitting Nelson game. Then it's not just about. Well, I gotta have the corner in a left tackle at a pass rusher. That at that. I'm good find any old skiff officers, deployed gardens. It's not like that anymore. And that's why positional change there's more. And if you're not with that. He's not you're not going to be playing. And ultimately in the best teams are doing the Team New England's been doing is now. Yeah, I end a scout. Who told me last year that Nelson would he thought was the best player in the draft. And that's why when the took him I said, you know, what they got a guy that going to be there ten years. He's going to be an all pro. And he's he plays with an attitude, and you know, he's he's ready for the challenge. And he lived up to the hype is well, we're talking to Louis Riddick from ESPN only you with this Louis the potential top fifteen pick who makes you nervous. Oh boy. Probably say the one that makes me nervous, the boast Montesquieu from the state and not necessarily because obviously because you know, there there's some there's some concerned about, you know. His health from the heart condition. That's you know, that information is out there, you know. But Dr teams that will take the ball teams that won't be concerned about it that it's that it's a deal that he can play with and teams are not that concerned. Another say we won't want to invest. Doing past that though, despite the fact that he is absolute in phenomenon from that standpoint is Paul on as long as fast. The one for four. They're not supposed to do that. One of those watch dome is still doesn't always look like combine workouts workout at those guys. Always scared me. About somebody. You can go maybe in the top ten and who may have the health concern? That's a tricky one for me. That's one of the guys that in Ireland. Remember his name on Thursday night. Because I'm sure you'll if his name starts sliding insider will start getting Khris about is it the health concern is the concern that maybe has played as a match up with his measurable. So he's the one that was scared. Most great stuff. Lewis have fun in Nashville till the boys we set a low, and we appreciate your time. As always that's thanks a lot. That's Louis Riddick. ESPN NFL analyst. I think he likes to Wayne asking just a little bit there. It's a little bit of a warm take their for Louis Riddick. ESPN's coverage. Live from Nashville seven rounds. "And you know, I write about him looking off to his father. You know, I in in the USAA Bank charity thing where these military families are asking the same questions. I think that he they don't have a great sense of the media. And they feel like a lot of these players coming out of college football big twelve SEC don't understand that they're going to be held to a higher level of scrutiny when they get to immediate venue like Super Bowl week. And I think the other thing is that he hasn't made up his mind, you know, they can say now that they have made up their mind, but they still took the meeting with the as talk money. He hadn't told his mother until. After Super Bowl week which way he was going to go. So if he had made up his mind that was that was something that was entirely exclusively in his head. So if he didn't tell his mom until after the Super Bowl. He sure is heck wasn't telling me or Dan, Patrick when we were. When we were interviewing. Exactly or anybody else. Did I think his dad knew Robert Dole? I gotta be honest with you. I got that sense on that day. You know, what dad is a football guy. And I think that guy too. I mean, it's it's it's an interesting family as you point out in your piece. Yeah. But he was he was Keiler is individual quarterback coach. And and after Cuyler was drafted and by the Oakland as they sat down as a family and kinda talked and dad predicted you're about to tear it up this season. And you're going to change the way NFL folks feel about you, and you know, around SuperBowl time was when they really started getting word that you know, he was definitely going to be a first round pick. So before I let you go here. Robert two more questions, a what because many people might be hearing this conversation saying, look, you know, what that this all may be the case. But he's going to be drafted first overall next week. What of everything that you were reporting on or exposed to from from the family dynamic to his history to what you're hearing about scouts or from scouts or on named and named in your piece evaluators, do you think will manifest itself in terms of whether he successful in the NFL once he starts playing football in the fall? You know, I I think that the consensus is he's the guy who's going to need a perfect situation. And you know, you could say that about any quarterback drafted anywhere in the draft. But with him, you know, being five ten I think there's a very specific kind of offense, and a very civic kind of offensive philosophy that works, and that's why the Kingsbury connection makes so much sense. Because the same thing that Baker Mayfield did it. Oh, you the same thing Tyler Murray. Did it? Oh, you the same thing clipper Kingsbury has been coaching for the last five six seven years at the college football level is what Kyla Murray thrived that. I mean, hell it's the same offense. He ran at Allen high school in Texas. So, you know, I think people feel like obviously, he needs to be an assistant. He's comfortable with to thrive and a coach that is innovative and understand that despite everything that, you know, Kyla Murray is gonna feel and Kyla Moore. He's going to say in the press. There are limitations to being five foot ten and playing quarterback in the NFL. And then the last thing for as. Being around the NFL as you have been what what do you think is the story of the non-playing season? So far that everyone else is talking about outside of the draft that you've been hearing about or reporting on Robert. The story of the off-season. I mean Odell Beckham. And then Tonio Brown changing teams like whenever we have or had skill position talent like that. Right. Changed hands in the NFL in an off season. And then the story today about the raiders sitting there scouts home. That well just wild..

"Guess I can't count with complete accuracy. But I can tell you that. And I've mentioned into few times at these shows where I've been here in Ireland right now, I'm in Galway county and the amount of ruins, partial pieces of castles, and the way they look is just mind blowing think game of thrones in a sense, although they're building sets around too, but just hundreds of them on this island. And I've mentioned before the fact that Ireland is fifty percent, limestone. So limestone do percent thing that number here. That's pretty spectacular number. If you think about it. And I realized I've lived in the desert I've lived in all the different quadrants of the United States. Fortunately, and that's why I love America. So much, but and the, and it's people, but I I didn't live in an area that was. Really mostly rock, and that's how it gets some of its incredible incredible incredible beauty. And then it makes you think we'll think about defending from pirates from tax from cannonballs from invasions from the wars that they had and you can really visualize it. And when you see those walls the walls meeting. I really is quite something. I had the fortune today. And I'm going to say the number is ten to see down by media down by the one of the lakes that was on norm. Not on the way, but it was coming near Kyla Moore abbey, but in con- Mira in con Meera area the. He are huge, of course. And and farming sheep farming the call farming. This sheep or incredible looking and they were down by the water and one somebody said to me touch touch one of the sheep if you can. And of course, they don't come near the skittish. But I give you the chance to get really close and see what they were like, and they were so full and influencing them, they they only fleece them like once or twice a year. They were talking about them fleecing twice a year. And I know that coming up I'm getting a chance to notice the with that industry industries like up close and personal and actually spend some time with he. So I can report back to you. Because this sheep that I saw that handful of that makes up small portion of what you see in Ireland. But it's very huge to the people here in farming is incredibly a huge because of what it supplies, warmth wise and whatnot. It used to be you got an Irish sweater somebody went away, and they brought you back and Irish sweater. And I'll tell you what the Irish sweater is very much alive. But the industry has really changed. And here's a quick tip. I learned if you wanna get an Irish sweater, what you do is you look to see who made it, and then, you know, more about authenticity. And of course, it won't be as itchy. Moving to yet, another another numbers related story. Because that's what it's all about. Robert Kraft is facing a decision in prostitution case because you've got a deadline. That's coming up. But what Robert Kraft is saying is that police used to fade bomb threat to clear out a Florida's bond installed cameras as well. He's nothing truth. As part of a prostitution investigation before New England Patriots owner, Robert Kraft, and others visited that was something that was already out there crafts attorneys wrote in a motion to suppress the video footage that Jupiter. Police department officers caused the phonies suspicious package warning to be issued for the spa in order to force in evacuations. So the J P D could install hidden cameras inside several of the private massage rooms as well as the spa. Ause I guess lobby area. Craft was one of twenty four men if you don't know this the patriots once again, charged with soliciting prostitution over alleged visits to the orchids of Asia day, spun Schumpeter, he visited the spa and consecutive days. The second time before the patriots faced the cheese in the ACC title game back in January now, he's pled not guilty to misdemeanor solicitation charges and asked for a jury trial. Wow. So put the sneak and peek is called search warrant application, which USA today's sports got last week was attached to a filing the warrant known as the delayed noticed warrant was approved by the Palm Beach county, Circuit Judge Howard coats. So police use the bomb threat to install the cameras. That's how it got around that. And I really think he was definitely surprised at took him surprised. But one of your numbers here is, you know, they talk about the what they have. I mentioned the people who were arrested, but their three hundred arrests I guess is what I say. Let me increase that number three hundred eleven three hundred snare three hundred including Robert Kraft, which is still so shocking. I think so many people, and yes, I will raise my hand. I would be one of those people that was just a little bit surprised to see him pop up knowing what can happen with this players, especially to see him pop up in that way. I was stunned. The because I would think that somebody like that would just be careful, and you're very very vulnerable. So it would almost be natural behavior to not let that happen. I don't wanna jump to this. Speaking of numbers bitcoin bitcoin on the rise. You know, it surged about forty eight hundred so the questions are becoming it's funny. I've got a speech on blockchain coming up next week, but not so much the bitcoin parks. Everybody says these those two but bitcoin jumped on Tuesday following months of low volatility. Something's changed the price of the world's largest crypto currency bouncing back. Fifteen percent higher almost forty eight. As I said, forty eight hundred they also briefly five thousand Mark on the Luxembourg based bid can't can't easily for me save big stamp exchange. Who says it can't be true stranger things have happened? Speaking of stranger things, this was a special dinner over if you got stuck who would you take over or list, and to do do do richest down, many people would be surprised to learn that list was the savored among the people that I had dinner with. They felt they just felt like there were safer. There's more. There was more protection. I guess for my female friends who say that they take lists over over. Uber. All right. We're getting back to numbers once again and the numbers include the amount of touring that these two gentlemen, I heard play just did but Christie berry and James Devitt who are the dual in music house were out on the road. They had thirty stops. Ooh, thirty stops. And they were done. They decided they want to see each other for while. And I went to this music calc- the night was invited to it. Anyway. And it was really quite spectacular ones. Playing the violin and the other playing a couple of different instruments flute being one of them comes the old Celtic songs, and I have to say it was it it brought you back in your mind. The couple of songs are very popular. They're singing. Include. The burn flowers selection does slow one now. And then some of these greatest hits you might have heard of reels by temple hill, the premier's slow air by. Dear little I'll I hope I'm saying that right? Have snow plow. How about on style March real quite quite a collection? These to have what an teaching chemistry. They haven't watching them fiddle and taps foods and do some of the things that I've seen in the past was an honor for me, and I'll be bringing you some of their music in the upcoming week. So you can hear a little bit of their tunes as we Motors through the show, but it was very very impressive. Let's move to another number and this number has to do with Facebook's, Mark Zuckerberg. And Mark Zuckerberg was in Ireland to talk about because the Kushtia Facebook has the huge facility here. And.

"I listen to you every single day. And I watch you on TV. A lot of us. Giants fans are actually happy with the deal. This is gonna be life after Eli progress. You know, if we get Haskins. Hey, it might work. There's optimism it's not all bad for New York. Giants Saint Joe, and we appreciate that. We should say that are the I mean, this is completely nonscientific way, shape or form. But the calls were getting are overwhelming negative as opposed to positive. But look, let's say they get twain Haskins which has been a guy that they've sort of been targeted with for a long time. And then they get another one of those defensive players in the draft it may work out. But it's also going to be another season where you're probably going to struggle near the bottom of the NFC east. Exactly. So the short term doesn't look great. But like you said the quarterback market of the top of the draft. And we know we talked to Diana Rossini yesterday. Who said this idea of Haskins to the giants isn't something that we should necessarily be buying which makes the pro day that's going on a even more interesting with that in mind, let us head to Norman Okla. Mahama where we find our draft expert and college football guy, Todd mcshay. He's there for Kyla Murray's pro day top will get to Cuyler in a second. But now that the giants have two first round picks after getting rid of Odell Beckham junior. Are you more convinced that they're going into the quarterback situation, or do you think they're going to go other places with those two picks? I think you have to go quarterback. I mean when you look at the situation. I mean is coming to the end they've got to get younger the quarterback spot. They've gotta look to the future and. It's the giants the way I look at it. You're you're planning on not picking this high in the draft for a lot of years. And so if that's your mindset, which it should be. Let's take advantage of the fact that we're here we we nailed it last year. We got the best young running back in one of the best running backs in in all the NFL, and let's put a quarterback with them. So you get that. And then at some point you you can draft another wide receiver and continue to to build around. But I think quarterback has to be the priority. Talking to share ESPN NFL draft analyst on the shell Pennzoil performance line, taking synthetic motor oil performance to a whole new level. Make the switch to Pennzoil synthetics today. And with that departure, we know acquiring assets, you mentioned going after a quarterback, I know it might not be time for the next mock draft, but we so much the talk has been Haskins to the giants. And we talked to our own Diana Rossini yesterday who seemed to shy away from that idea. Some is there any chance that maybe the giants start looking towards the guy that you're getting ready to watch today, and Kyle Mary, of course, there is. I mean. Listen, we're all assuming Arizona at one right? But why would Arizona be is public and boisterous if you will about that pick and Cuyler, and and all the other stuff store in the entire week of Indianapolis. If if they I mean, I guess you know, you're sitting at one you can take whoever you wanna take. But it just even though I mocked him at one. And I think there's a good chance, and I like to steam fitness, ultimately is why wind up on a putting a mayor. It just feels to me like they're trying to paint somebody to move up to come get him. Because he's kind of you know, the flavor of the day if you will in terms of where the NFL's going the explosives soccer that he brings in everything else. So he fits cliff Kingsbury offense perfectly. And I think that he would be a good fit for Zona Zona decided you know, what we're fine with Josh Rosen. We don't need a runner. We don't need somebody who can who can take off and create with his leg. And we never really had that near office. Yeah. Title. Hello. Yeah. I'm with you Todd. And again, sorry to interrupt you there. I miss. I miss jab. Judge your pauses? That's that's a negative on me drop me down in my draft day evaluation. Understanding. Todd this by the way, we're Todd says he mocked him at first he's saying he put him in his mock draft. He's not saying he mocked the idea go trade link. I gotcha. Just just want to explain it to the masses big brother you, and you, and I know what I just wanna make sure everyone else understands it. So with that in mind on any other day Todd. This would be the lead story everywhere. What is Kyla Murray going to be at his pro day? We've had some of this other stuff going on. But realistically, what do we expect from? Kyla Moore's pro day today. First of all, he should not be measured or weighed. Correct. Oh, he will be real. Of course, he will be he'll be asked to I mean. He's going to go about it. However, he wants to go about it. And that's that's how it is. It's everyone has their rights, and they can refuse to do anything. They wanna refused to go to a pro day. And I mean, I I can't honestly ever remember anybody saying, no to heighten, wait. So I I'm assuming Hobie he'll be weighed and measured. I don't know what he's gonna do. I've heard that he's going to do everything. And then I've heard from people that he's gonna kind of pick and choose what he's gonna do. But only thing I continue to hear is that he will throw today. So I'm glad I made the trip to Norman talking to mcshea live from Norman Oklahoma Cuyler Murray's pro day on the shell Pennzoil performance that being said tied, and and you know, you've been around this and certainly seen a number of these. And even when you hear that maybe just for everyone else when you go into these pro day settings especially for a quarterback. What are you looking to see we know it's a very comfortable setting for these guys? I mean teddy Bridgewater was about the only one that. I can remember. Walking away from say. You know that something was off. And even though you look back. It's not for injuries. There was nothing wrong with teddy Bridgewater here who's playing well. And so I think we all get caught up in it. We all we all focus on it. It's definitely made for TV. And I get it. I think it's more important for some coaches who are late in the process who haven't been evaluating these players who can Siamese for the first time I've seen tyrod throw live in person four times already. So I I know what he's gonna do. And I know how he throws all, but some coaches want to see it live. And and I understand that there's a difference, especially running routes and different things. You can see on tape growing the football you'd like to see at least one time live how the ball comes off and charge to explain, but there can be a difference. But at the end of the day, you know. Know outside of teddy Bridgewater. I can't remember a player gig elevated or dropped in terms of his draft stock and where he eventually was picked based off of a pro day workout or even a combine throwing session. Now when when it's over yesterday, probably 'cause usually teams fly in early want to interview quarterbacks they wanna put him through a an individual workout. They want to have the routes that they run some of the rotary stuff that they do the combinations. That they do they want to test him on the board. And then bring him out to the field and see what he retains those things really stick. I believe that's the portion between now and April twenty six that will really kinda define where these quarterbacks are gonna wind up going if a team spends an entire day with with one of these individuals and just falls in love with the person and how quickly they learn. That's when you wind up drafting a lot I've told the story before DeShaun Watson. That was the selling point when dole O'Brien in Houston Texans spent the entire day in Houston with him watched him at lunch and all the players around. But the way he kinda rallied everybody. That's why ultimately gave up what they did to go up very high. In the draft to go get to Sean lachey. Yeah. And the weird thing is Todd mcshane's with us live from Oklahoma's pro day Norman for Kyla Murray. Among other players, by the way is with teddy. Yeah. Exactly offense line wide receiver. The the the engineering about teddy Bridgewater is it was the gloves. No gloves situation would seem very strange that. He went down that road on his pro day. Okay. You mentioned that you know, Arizona's doing the right thing Todd and sort of like baby potentially putting out this smokescreen there. And I agree with you. Arizona should keep all options on the table. They are going to take him. They're going to trade him. They're going to trade. Josh they're going to keep Josh me. They they should keep the entry going. But if not Arizona at number one, what are you hearing about other teams that might be interested in going up and getting Kyla? Well, the giants are sitting at six no longer. Do. We think Jacksonville is is important, right? Right. You know after that you start to look at teams like Denver in Cincinnati is long shots is mentioned before. And then it it's a strange year. Trae it really is. Because there's not I mean, there's really one legitimate team in the top ten that you look at your they they have a glaring need a quarterback. And that's the giants sitting at six after that. We've talked about Miami. We're talking about Washington with see what's going on there. I mean, there's just not a lot of teams which is good news for the NFL. It's it's great. I mean, we're better situation than I can remember in terms of young talent at the quarterback position. But you know, your I'm starting to hear things like Pittsburgh New England teams like that that could potentially package picks and move up. And then Oakland is is always the wild card which. Yeah. No question, by the way, Bill ballot. Check it just diving in bar betas and saying, hey, someone go figure this out. And clearly hasn't missed chess day. There's no question about that. A couple of other days, but separate issues separate issue. Right todd. Enjoy your day in Norman, Oklahoma. We look forward to full reports height weight running everything that happens with Kyla Murray and a bunch of other Sooners. That'll be drafted. Thanks, big, man. All right. Thanks. So we'll see what happens. Yeah. No. It's going to be like you said a bevy of talent there in Oklahoma. But it really is a lot of those meetings and interactions there. And it's always amazing the way it jumps up when you've got guys like that my pro day, it was mean another offense of linemen that were going to go on draft in Tyler I for it. So the three of us got worked out for the on field drills by a tight end coach that was how you knew the next year Zack Martin was coming out in the draft. And I was going back to try and get signed. Again, we got worked out by five offense of line coaches during the onfield drills and then met with two more after that. So you get ratchet up it's a long days for these guys. But as they said that time is when you can learn a lot about the guys off the field. The intangibles all those things the most difficult part of this process to gauge anxiety level for you on pro- day was what I mean, it was it was pretty high up there. But you do I mean having the guys that you. Played with that entire season around really lessons a lot of that. 'cause you're hyper focused you've been away training for so long getting back. It's that little X hail right before you, do basically everything because you can look at that guy knew. All right. We've done so much together already..

"Steve Kerr is gonna join us momentarily. I believe they're Philadelphia. Seventy Sixers tomorrow night on national TV. I don't think Joel Joel Embiid is going to play that's kind of a bummer. But there you go if you want to win it's probably good thing if you were just a fan with Saturday night. Can't catch a break, I know Saturday night and hardened Saturday LeBron's impede. I mean, they simply Gary Saturday night that was a game on that somebody's missing. I don't think Steve minds, I wouldn't mind. Again. I don't think they might be a little love for this game since Philly beat him last time in Oakland. And they've lost two in a row, and it's on national TV. I would think they will. They will be ready and don't have a let down because the big fellows missing because they still have Simmons and Butler in Harris in Radic. I mean, they got a bunch of guys that can put the ball in the bucket. So let down a little bit. By being for three in a row. No question about it. Yeah. This'll be the one. I mean, I don't know why they do what they do this way. But they always seem to get up especially on the road for these bigger games. And I would imagine with without Embiid. I'm sure they'll be focused, and I'm sure they probably thought they should win the last two games. Wade gets the the winter. And then last night just down the stretch had the lead. Like, you said, we're we're doing the show look up their ten or twelve look up there a six. Okay. Look up there at four. It was like, whoa. How did they lose? They did. They did. Yeah. So yes, they did. Not let me like. Yeah. I think they'll be more focused so anyway Ogden's on and he'll get us. Steve Kerr minute. The big storm. We'll get into it a little bit later. Larry Baresi o of the giants altercation. I dunno whatever you wanna call it. If you've seen the video yet in a park today in San Francisco that is leading sports and a bunch of opinions, obviously on Twitter's we'll get back to that in a little bit. It is well forty Niners continue at the combine. We'll give you a little bit of that. There is some buzzed. By the way, that would affect the forty Niners potentially that the cardinals are starting to buzz around Kyla Murray. And again, it's the season of lying. So who knows you connect cliff Kingsbury recruited Murray said what he said about him in Rosen didn't have a great first season for the cardinals. So everybody was taken tenth overall. So if they do fall in love with Murray think he thinks he fits the offense that Kingsbury is gonna put in and it is seen as more of a college offense. Maybe they'll they'll fall in love with this kid. And then that would mean that the Niners of basically have their choice of defenders or players other than Kyla Moore who they weren't gonna take anyway. Well, hey, Steve kind their GM said he's our quarterback right now. What are you saying? What did you do that? Why did you have to say right now just leave it at he's quarterback right now. Do things varies. I can't believe it. 'cause Kingsbury is the rookie D came through and said, yeah, he's our guy. Then just they left it at that. He's always your guide till he's not always do that later. Knew that rookie you screwed it up. You said that they got to answer these questions right now. I wanna make one thing and I'm sure we'll get back to the Larry barrel in. But I gotta I gotta say one thing. They know it's probably out there. If anybody anybody that listens to the show and thanks for one minute. That I would say this because for the giants flagship you're too stupid to reach. You really are. I mean and just I mean, take your stupidity..

"You know, people people followed him where he's couldn't play quarterback. Can't throw exactly twenty yard line. Here you need to be more than a leader of men to be a quarter. But. Kyla Moore's good quarterback. He won the Heisman Trophy. Let's not forget that. This is not just in the ether as a theorem Baker Mayfield. He's got the hardware and Baker Mayfield. Arguably we really go through Cleveland. And so like when I watched this stuff like I I stopped trying to scout. Anything after Marcus visor washed out a league? Okay. I was convinced that Marcus visor out of Ohio Iowa State was going to be a great NBA player. I was completely wrong. I just gave up on the whole the whole enterprise in every sport. So like with with this sort of stuff like I pretend like I know Kyle is a good quarterback enough. It's the how we talk about the quarterback thing like Jared Goff doesn't get talked about as a leader of men, and nobody even knows the sound of his voice. That's as much about person study. Anything sounds kind of like just talk as smooth. What he is there to pals. You can do Baker Mayfield or you can do the sort of Peyton Manning boring by design I will remain on controversy at all times robot quarterback guy, and that's the direction that that jerk off has gone down. It's more as personality, whatever. But like you. So you can do it either wet. Yeah. You have to be able to make the throws you have to be able to do the football stuff. I would give Cuyler Murray the benefit of the doubt just as much as I would rose. Okay. Then that's what I'm saying. So whomever, they get I think their questions are still plenty. However, if I'm a team like the cardinals where my quarterback situation is up in the air. Anyway, I'm not counting that against Cuyler Murray for value. Is you throw you a mid first round or Josh Rosen. You. Exactly sure you do that every single time considering and that's not a knock on in per se. It's about the simple man management of rousers. In the NFL. If you're going to get two guys for one. Heck, yeah. So somebody offered two first round picks for Jared Goff Jared Goff who's doing that making a bad second of the year last year. GME's not doing it. But say it was like I see what you find the quarterback position fascinating. Because I still eats the most other than maybe goalie in hockey. Nothing swings your franchise, and it's hockey. So nobody cares. Nobody's nothing swings. Your franchise more than a quarterback. Now do not have a good enough quarterback. You cannot win a Super Bowl. Correct. You can't just you can't. But rose his proven nothing more. And that's this stage. If you add rose in pus Kingsbury, maybe my you still gotta maybe what I still think. It's like, I still don't know if we ask the right questions that we talk about quarterbacks in the weirdest ways for the most like important thing ever and just lean on why did anybody draft Johnny Menzel because he's exciting as a winner. Well, Johnny Manziel is or to Brown's was the breast, but what the Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones. That'd be talked out of it right taxes. Well, they're not from Texas Menzel some tax related him in the it's not as mid Jerry Jones is is not the football Gurultu Jerry Jones thinks he is. But there are still enough people who are do this for a living bright or not that gets just you know, what he's a winner. This is my thing. Whatever saying it's the worst coach position in the league. Nobody necessarily knows what they're doing. And that's why it's difficult with anybody. Who is not a so-called blue Chipper or doesn't just fit the proverbial mold of six five to fifty guy who down the field. It's much easier that way to justify your own lack of knowledge or what you cannot teach do. Oh, he had all the tools. We could make a matter. He just sucks. Well, maybe you just suck as an educator of football. I mean, I'm serious about this. Because there are a lot of dudes that learn how to play the game..

"Oh, fifteen minutes, even better. Yes. He's going to join us. John Ireland fifteen minutes from now. It's not often key were a guy goes twenty-six into as a quarterback at a powerhouse program twenty-six into and then has to find somewhere else to go put football. And that's what's happening with Jalen hurts Jalen hurts announced yesterday that he's leaving Alabama Novick surprise. We knew he was going to lead it because he wants to out of bounds two years ago. Twenty six two as a starter for Alabama. He's on his way to Oklahoma because two is not going anywhere. Does not going anywhere. He gets now between to go to Oklahoma following footsteps. Kyla Moore who followed in the footsteps of Baker Mayfield. Now, you go to a guy who supposedly is the guru of quarterback fixers and all of that sort of stuff. So you now have an opportunity getting this Oklahoma offense kind of display some NFL type throws and talent in if he's able to do it which I believe he has a size. He has some after that ability. He just needs to get a little more accurate in terms of throwing the ball because he threw the ball. Well, it's fresh. Shman year. He did under underlying kiffin. He did display some talent throwing the ball people want to knock it and say, oh, well, he's just more of a running quarterback. No. That's not true. He could throw the football. They just didn't allow him to do it in fine. Tune his skills to the level. He was okay. Yeah. He was. Okay. Yeah. I mean, that's not saying I'm not saying he he is a Aaron Rodgers. But he certainly a guy that has some ability as a quarterback that will get an opportunity to play on Sundays at that position. Do you like the choice to go to Oklahoma because you look at it? And like you said Lincoln Riley, the head coach there has had back to back Heisman Trophy winners. At that position. Baker Mayfield gets at color Murray gets it and Jalen hurts. And I'm looking to make a big splash. And especially like you were saying if the idea is to prove to everybody that you can throw the football. That's the place to go. Do it. No it is. They're going to Chuck it all over the place. It is they're going to be missing some play. But they reload like. Yes. Oklahoma going to reload. If they got a lot of players that leaving Hollywood Brown top receiver dear declare for the draft. But they have another group wide receivers. They got running back here from from the Los Angeles area. They got some offense and Lyman that left, but they got some more guys that they're going to replace. I think it's a smart move on his part. I think that is a good place to go. He looked at a couple of other schools. Yeah. He he went and took visits to Maryland in Miami as well. And some of the other teams that were allegedly involved in trying to get him to come Auburn, which would have been interesting just because it's Auburn in Alabama, Tennessee, Utah UCLA, Florida state and the buckeyes Maryland has Loxley now who's the offense coordinator in Alabama? So he knew him from Alabama. So it probably would have been a good fit there. Although you're not gonna win very many games in Maryland out the gate, Oklahoma, you're going to win you're going to be in an offense. It's gonna show your talents in he's in a win win situation. All the way around by the way, this happens all the time. Now, you look. Russell Wilson change. You look at collar Murray changed Baker Mayfield change guys. Don't this idea that you come into a program, you red shirt, you wait as a freshmen redshirt freshman, maybe a software, and then you start as a junior that Jalen hurts was twenty six and two in the yanked him off the field. Of course, he's got to leave and he leaves goals. Oklahoma kindled a quarterback. That's oklahoma. Backed up may feel and Murray wanted to leave to go to West Virginia, Oklahoma, tried to block him as of two days ago from it that they do crazy..

"Would we even be having this conversation of pot? It will even mention Kyla Moore's first rounder because spread quarterbacks hadn't worked at all up to that point. I think Russell Wilson helped an awful lot because breeze did breeze gave Russell Wilson the idea that hey, I can play. But this next wave will be based off Russell Wilson. I think I think Baker and Gough and Mahomes playing. The true spreads the Mahomes, play Texas Tech spread you were talking about it. Like that was crazy off the mandate used to be that doesn't work in the NFL. No, I kept saying why are we adapting to college? Instead of we're bringing in the college kids in and making them adapt to the NFL, you you can still run that kind of offense there, and the NFL is always adapting adopting from college ranks. And you know, I thought that this is what Carolina did and it was smart when they brought in Cam Newton. They wanted to let Cam continue the Auburn style of offense in the NFL and not many coaches are willing to do that turn their team over to a college quarterback and play a college style system. But now to all of it is it just spread offenses in this. This is what Mike Leach in some of these other guys started decades ago where you just go. We're going to spread you out. We're going to win a one on one matchup, and even the great Bill Belichick would bring in these college coaches and pick their brain. I we'll take a break. "A free man parties a really good young player. And he's going to be a tremendous player of a collar is a freak and followed him since he was a sophomore in high school. I just think the world of him. What he can do on a football field. I've never seen one better in high school. And he's starting to show it now at the college level. I don't have enough. Good things to say about him. He's phenomenal. I I've never seen. It have a poor outing not one which quarterbacks it's impossible to do. But he's done it. I take him with the I figure the draft he signed to play baseball, but he has a dominant football player. And I would take him the first now. Oh, boy, we don't think that's going to happen. It's not gonna they drafted Josh Rosen in the top ten a year ago. However, maybe since they don't need a quarterback. You know, they try and package that pickers because I'm telling you, I'm hearing more and more people they believe calamari will be a first round pick. And maybe a top top half of the first round first round. Well, we know quarterbacks get magnified. We know they're not gonna take a quarterback. But you know, that sound bite it'd be played for him and asked, hey, what do you think? Now, I'm sure he's going to say we have a quarterback. And they do there's no way they're drafting your quarterback. So. To me now for for a history. There has never been a first round NFL player. And who was also drafted in the first round in baseball. And we know he was drafted first round in baseball. Here are the. John elway. I football second round baseball. Go Jackson first round football second round baseball. Kenny stabler about that. Second rally in the NFL and second round in baseball collar Murray could be the first first Brown first round guy ever. So there are so many tentacles here. And oh, by the way, you know, what another one is. Yeah. He could actually go back to Oklahoma and play again. Correct. He could actually go back. A lot Homer on the table. Be the quarterback there again next year. Go play baseball declare for the draft and going to draft still fly football. And then go back and play baseball. I mean, listen, I have no idea what the guy is going to do. But the interesting part to me is what and it's going to happen by February. If he declares to the draft, which is an easy thing to do all that does then is knocks out one of the options of going back to Oklahoma a guy with options like this is a pretty cool thing. And then it's going to be okay. What happens in February? Are you actually going to go and spring to practice in baseball? Or if you're gonna play football, you gotta get ready for the draft. You got to go to the combine if you want obviously, you don't have to but pro days visit you're gonna have to do all that. I said that guys that our top picks. Could they not do anything and still get picked that way with this guy? I don't think that can happen as Mike. He is going to set a all time new bar, and I mean a lower bar talent. Because you start to wonder around six foot with a quarterback Baker Mayfield certainly beat that one up. No doubt about it. He has succeeded at this point in the NFL this. He's Kyla Moore is lifted at five nine by ten ten and there is no way guys going these five twenty five eight five eight five eight five nine I mean, he will without question. Test the limits more than they've ever been tested in a sport. Now in the NFL were they are putting in the college, you know, kind of systems as well. So it can work better nowadays. But this would be this would be a new all-time test. Cuyler murray. We talk about Baker Mayfield is the most recent conflict shorter quarterback infinitely more athletic Cuyler Murray is Lamar Jackson level athleticism, many much smaller body and a guy who is still a very accomplished passer at Oklahoma. So it's all these things that you absolutely find appealing. But man, it's still Wayne the short term potential gains of that or long-term depending on how it goes. But if they risked nonetheless on both sides for in the NFL, what you have advantage wise to is coming into it is maybe more guaranteed money right away. But also a guaranteed lifestyle away because we know Oakland plans to start him out and their triple A team in Stockton. Right. So I think it's a hi, I'm not sure it's is it is triple eight triple A. Okay. Baio giant and starting them in their minor league system in Stockton, which leads a minor league lifestyle. Whereas a lot of bus rides back roads and things that aren't as glamorous as what he's dealing with an Oklahoma right now. And so is that in the short term worth missing out on potentially? What comes with baseball? 'cause I in my mind, I have Jeff smarter. Stuck in my crops? Wide receiver who went on and made has made a comfortable living for himself in major league baseball with a lot less, wear and tear his last deal. I think what the giants was I think ninety six million dollars. So that's pretty good. That's not bad. And that that was just one of the deals. I know he got so. Yeah, it worked out pretty well. He didn't he wasn't never a great long-term pitcher. But he made as far as the money side of it because he would have been a first round wide receiver. Wide receiver. He was going to be a first round wide receiver. But we know the longevity. Everything else about baseball has a lot of things that are more friendly to the player except for this initial run potential. Exactly, right. The it's like a movie as our friend standard would appreciate it's like a movie deal getting points on the back end. That's the baseball payoff going forward here. And speaking of baseball were delighted Jeff passan now working with us at ESPN just just came into the family not too long ago. And here's what he thinks the as plan is with Kyla Murray going forward as expect him to show up for spring training. Tyler Murray is going to be in major league camp with them and not just in camp with them at the start. But in camp in till they go to Japan to start their season. They wanna make it as enticing as possible for him. Because they understand that football is almost like this love that he has and to keep him away from it. They need to do everything they can possibly to make him comfortable with baseball and to make him love baseball as much as he does. Football. But what did you say this morning junior the heart wants what the heart wants? And that's the thing. Like, we know Cuyler Murray is a figure of folklore around Texas high school football, like he's a guy who clearly loves it enough to where this has been a decision that we thought was a foregone conclusion in his crept more and more into the picture. Sometimes it's hard to give us, and I'm with you. And one thing I think is hard for younger people in and that's where you need that really good support group. First and foremost, you love one more than the other. I mean, I think it sounds like he likes football. I maybe would agree. But the other thing is you have to be able to look at the big picture because just for what you said because right now. Going back to Oklahoma way. More glamor more glamorous and the minor league system going in the NFL, obviously more glamorous than the minor league system. But where could baseball eventually lead? You the big picture down the road. However, many years it is he would be in the minors before he got to the majors. And then what what is ceiling is there? And we know average players in baseball can make a ton of money, you know, in the area of stars of football. So that's I think what needs to happen is look at the big picture. How how good you think you can be in baseball. Where's your ceiling there? Where can the ceiling be in the NFL because you're going to create one right now. Let's be honest in baseball. He's going to try and be a great player. Amongst other great players in a normal way in football. He's looking to bust Boston New ceiling a five foot nine quarterback being not just an NFL player. But being a first round pick NFL player. Trying to be a one of the better NFL players. That's new territory right there. It is. And let's not forget the most important word in this discussion, guaranteed because whatever you sign for in baseball on those long term contracts, like Jefferson margin, ninety six million guess what you blow out your elbow the day after you sign it, you get in every and that's the thing about the big picture again. Because if he does go in the first round that's guaranteed as well. And the last pick in the first round last year was Lamar Jackson and the guarantee was what eight million over eight mills double what he got right now. So that again is the big picture. Okay. If I go in the first round, I know that's guaranteed. But baseball could hold a bigger guarantee. Look baby. You do the football thing doesn't work out. Then I'll go back and do the baseball thing. And I got eight million in the Bank working for me. It's going to be really interesting, by the way, the combine starts February twenty six and by the way will be down there doing a special on Saturday March third. I think it is. And that's the day. The quarterbacks are throwing so we'll be down. I agree with you. My he has to go to the combine and show this stuff because early concerns about his stature can goes Monday through Friday with doing the communist. Golic and wingo. I'll be there. You. "I do not like to steer conversations. Based on race, especially even at the quarterback position. I don't want to steer it there. But whenever I take my hand off the wheel and see where this conversation. We'll go with his landscape would take me it always takes me to certain places, and I give you exhibit egg exhibit A is one of the more Jackson as you talk about Heisman Trophy winner. And then follow that up with a couple of losses as a team. But a better performance as a quarterback in his last two seasons and Louisville and Wisconsin at a Ryan tannehill who's a white quarterback who in his last two seasons. Let's just look at the numbers only number. I see greater is completion percentage. What's matters? Let's say that but two to one pass tests Donald interception versus three two one rushing yards. Rushing touchdowns a Heisman Trophy winner versus the guy who was forced to play quarterback from being a receiver. And I just want to remind everyone in the world there draft. Position. One was drafted eighth. Overall win. Andrew luck was even in that draft. And one was reached for as the thirty second last pick in the first round. Now when I let my hand off the wheel and the Nazi moments like that. I hear Bill Polian come out with comments telling me that the Heisman Trophy winner needs to play receiver and not quarterback when you have those moments continue to occur. We luck. I hate to say, but it makes me want to grab the wheel again. Before you go EJ here, you're talking about conversation. Yeah. And to me a lot of times conversation is irrelevant. I'm talking about actions. And so whatever the conversation is about Tanna hill. Lamar J. Lamar Jackson got drafted. Kyla Moore is going to get drafted high. Or get drafted of two is going to get drafted high. Black quarterbacks are going to get drafted a conversation. People talk and say all kinds of things what are the actions, the NFL and college football or take lock those conversations lead to the actions where one is drafted eight. They want us to thirty two with thirty two a greater resume and hang greater financial win at the high at the heart of that they make all kinds of mistakes in the, but you know, what this was not motivated by resume. This was not motivated motivated by racy. All I'm saying is the normalization of the black quarterback. Let's say the black normal quarterback has more adversity in hurdles into white quarterback. And then even when you're. A greater black quarterback. You still may be disrespected more in a receiver transferred to play quarterback. That's comedies ation. I care less about obviously, I think it just goes down to the Lisa's much shorter for black quarterback versus our counterparts period. Now, I think if the market went out there for four or five interceptions. They lost the game. You know? Thank god. They went out there. They went. They went to an over the past two weeks that he started. He's thrown a ball while he's been a fishing. He's made great decisions. I think he's had some interceptions. But everybody does you know?.
