Falcons could field an offense with 11 first-round draft picks
"So we had a truck a couple of signings by the Atlanta Falcons over the weekend right to pick up tight end Hayden Hurst from the Baltimore Ravens and they also acquired look Kwan Treadwell a former number one pick for the Minnesota Vikings yeah as the Atlanta falcons roster currently stands right now on offense alone just on offense they have a Levin former first round picks all of these former first round picks quarterback Matt Ryan first round pick Todd Gurley who sign when he was released first round pick Julio Jones first round pick Calvin Ridley first round pick the Quantrill first round pick Hayden Hurst first round pick left tackle Jake Matthews first round pick left guard James carpenter first round pick center Alex Mack former first round pick Chris Lindstrom the right guard former first round pick and right tackle Caleb McGary also that he first started his first round eleven is incredible let them all eleven of them a former first round pick I mean there's no way that's ever happened before right I can't believe that what ever but here's the real question if you had to redraft everyone of these players how many would be former first rounder this okay because I think this is fair Lidstrom McGarry and carpenter I've always been really what one or two years no it's been really since two thousand eleven okay yeah so let's remind me Gerry I think you were taken off or taken them out yeah okay so all of the other nine how many would be redrafted as a first round what's what's going on it's not right absolutely no question that runs for Todd Gurley no yeah I I would say no I would sit well I would say no one quite frankly his a conversation about the value of the position in general could also affect the new with him that was the thing coming out of college yes I look he has fifty eight rushing touchdowns over his first whatever seasons and all the other ones are either in the hall of Famer going let me just say six are we saying first rounder today or go back to the beginning again it would re drawing back to the beginning again because I'm currently the way Todd Gurley came out I mean would you not still take him in the first one that's the question now right are you going to pay for that kind of production from a running back anymore we saw Christian McCaffrey Leonard for net like there's been plenty examples of even a legal or not re signing a big second contract drafting a great one of the first round can still benefit you a lot okay I'm just trying to get to it you know is that what they've done in their right career does that mean where are the first roll worthy to me the girly thing is to your point he had a knee injury coming out of college and right when they signed with the red sign that long term deal with they're trying they got out of now then he was going to be chronic so to me the top group member he was the first one that airports reset the market for running backs and it turned out no he just re establish the old line of thinking but that first three years of production would you that would you spend a first round pick on that because we saw that rand's office how much in common now it always goes like this with the running game but in combination with an offense of line that did really well what you brought into what worth over would you pay for that as the foundation of your off I'm beginning to go the Melkite around here that I'm not sure running back as well because Melvin Gordon was in that same draft and Melvin Gordon is on his team I got an extreme I think that's the biggest conversation we could take out of this is the running back position record number mellow one point eighty never take a running back in the first Rana I wonder for we're slowly but surely going back to it I mean there was a contract a couple years ago with the first running back off the board was late second round out of Tennessee and I think we're going back to that after a bevy running backs being taken so we were definitely in on Matt Ryan yes we're out on Todd Gurley a legit is amazing looking back at Todd Gurley's draft class there's not a lot of got like if you're talking about reworking the top ten Todd Gurley might be the most wealthy in that group maybe outside of Amari Cooper yeah we can we can have that discussion later because that's in it read graphic I think is always fast and you have to wait a certain amount of time Julio Jones know quite well right Calvin Ridley first round too early again I think it's too early last year what he had sixty three receptions okay just under nine hundred okay seven touchdowns I would mean he also can't account for how bad that team ask me yes or no right now I'd say yes but I still think it might be too early Hayden Hurst no not because look they they took marketers later in the draft in the third round he clearly became the tight end of Baltimore which made Hayden Hurst by the way has taken in the first row before Lamar Jackson R. Jackson for Lamar starting you know tight on that team right now marketers you said right Hayden Hurst also dealt with some injuries and stuff there too that's okay in perfect sample size and when you have a guy come on like marquetry who could predict that the way that offense ended up of what he was the Mackey award winner a what he was coming home with one truck will no no Jake Matthews yes I think so I think so I think so do not I meet yeah yeah I mean yes he's been there he's been there is a second contract I also wrote a like doesn't miss a lot of games he's he's dependable yeah I think that's what it our printer are probably not I mean he's he's been a guy that's been in the league for nine years now dependable guy but we're talking about first round right you know I mean when you're twenty four we'll talk about for sure we're talking about top ten picks like a lot yeah yeah yeah I I'd probably lean toward no on that as well yeah yeah Alex Mack yeah absolutely yeah yeah and then the other than what we remember and I think Lidstrom would be headed in that direction yeah kill the guy who's more reach last year get killed the one I have questions about obviously we know the health concerns that existed before the draft earning a hard issue that he had had to deal with early in this time oxygen so there's a lot to hash out with those two but just I mean blows off the page when you just read that number the every single hundred dinners with that crew yeah what eleven Ryan still got its still on that ride to reach for the paycheck first but everyone else has to at least go for their wallets and act like there's also a common I do with you know with my dad so you got rid you got Ridley help you got got this R. Ridley Hearst links from a Gerry all still on their rookie deals you know wrecked yeah everybody else is is all for them yeah if I'm looking at yes correct so yeah they're all fascinating eleven a former first rounders on

"And he committed a bunch of penalties in this game. Nothing like, his usual self. Try Armstead a lot of strip sack from Michael Bennett. I believe eagles have a great offense defensive line. Don't think it's anything ashamed off to think that they played you really well and gave your quarterback pressure for a good chunk of this game. But. Are you more on? I think they focus more on covers and pressure. The second half. I haven't seen the overhead yet. But that's what it seemed like are you concerned about the saints holding up more so than you would be typically against Donald. Concerned about brief holding up against any team that presents interior pressure. If he can't get out of it. The Cowboys the Cowboys, and it didn't show up against the Rams, unfortunately for them. Cowboys have a great ability to get pressure inside. They were they don't Bush. They run a ton of in tackles stunts. So then able to with their personnel and with their defensive philosophy basically Bullock quarterback out of stepping up in the packet and then prevent him for getting outside the pocket and creating extended throwing lanes and doing things sort of after the play breaks down on the route race off. Mum. You know? We'll see what happens, you know. Fowler's been pretty good the Rams zone had those outside guys. But they may not need them at you pointed out the the saints offense line troubles. You know, and and you know, Michael Thomas with the Rams up. But I don't think till he was in that game. I think it was Marcus Peters and Marcus Peters doesn't have to cover number one receivers anymore, which I'm sure Marcus Peters is very happy about. A different experience for a number of reasons. Yeah. I mean, Aaron Donald did not sector breeze. The first time these two teams played but knocked him down four times. Drew Brees had he's sixty one point eight passer rating under pressure when these teams played earlier this season. So I mean, certainly when they were able to get pressure on breeze. They gave him trouble and he had three to forty six yards and four touchdowns in the game. But you would figure if a keep to leave is doing work on Michael Thomas who was incredible in this game. By the way. I don't mean. I mean the sell him short. You know, who was awesome in this game. And if you have Aaron Donald against a compromised Andres Pete in pass protection or twisting, face Armstead steadies on one hundred percent in pass protection. Well, suddenly, you know, this might be a different game. In terms of what the Rams defense can do. Not a good. That is not a good matchup for Thomas because keep is he so aggressive, and he's so smart with it Peters is aggressive to his own detriment. It's like he's still on the chiefs in that regard. But to leave, you know, he'll he'll bate you and he'll attack you, and then he'll know when to back off from winded jump the route. He's he's just very very heavy that way, I mean Thomas can certainly bring it all the way physically, but I think to lead could put him in some contested cat situations that he's not optimal for and I think contested catches. We're going to be a big deal for grease if they get to the Super Bowl apparently could be I mean a game where they converted in that second half second and twenty third and sixteen on that endless drive third and thirteen on the next drive. I mean, it was really incredible to see what brazen. Most of those catches. Michael Thomas was doing last quest. For you. Doug. Mrs just me being simple, we being basic. How did Michael Thomas fall to the second round in a draft work Korey Coleman will fuller? Josh dachshund what Kwan Treadwell and Struan shepherd role taken before him. How did C J Anderson? Get released by three different before the Rams dot him. Where would Michael Thomas been elsewhere? Where would Russell Wilson and been in Jacksonville, you know, without knowing what teams think I tend to think that the guys who drastically outplay their draft selection, fill it place..

"For recovery from Heikal for so it's entirely possible. That Jay Cutler is out for an extended period of time that will go past the fantasy football playoff. So lot to worry about for those of you who are die hard steals fans. This one could be a bit closer that they care to admit. But I I look at it as case where Oakland I think is able to keep this to a touchdown touchdown the ten point two feet. I think the line if it was seven and a half easily you take New Orleans, but at eleven and a half. I mean, you need a lot of things to break right for New Orleans and for Oakland, not to even remotely try in the second half. So I'd rather just take the raiders there. Sunday night football. We've got the Rams and the bears. I I look at this case where you know, how confident he feel about the ramps. Honestly, if you really trust the ramps you take that three and a half. If you think that the Rams are due for a game where they'll struggle. Then you go with the bears. This to me is a cat of coin flip game. I I don't really see a whole lot here that would like interests me terms of of betting on the game. I just I'll take Chicago's defense. I think that they'll be able to make some place happen. But in terms of the game itself. I do think the Rams ended up winning. It will probably end up being like a field goal deciding it Lee, but I do think that it's a a an LA team that just has so few much for your holes that you kinda go. I don't think Chicago's we're going to be able to keep up with them. Even though they're at home tonight. So this brings us to Monday night football with Minnesota traveling to Seattle, you know, meaningless stat of the day. Like the Vikings are all hit like since Russell Wilson has been the league. The Vikings have not been able to win the game against him. They should have been able to win the game against him in the playoffs. If it wasn't for Blair Walsh, brutally hooking a thirty yard field goal for the win. I mean that you have happened. But you know, beat as it may Seattle's not quite what they were. They have much much improve running game though. So they'll probably lean on that against the this. This Minnesota team that I still look at it. As one of the biggest disappointments of league, just because you know, I really thought her cousins would have been far more efficient in this offense than he is Minnesota does not really us enough targets my opinion on the passing game side. I think they are leaning way too much a potential coverages too. Both dealing and stuff on big Stefan digs is also carrying an injury decimation win films of if he misses time again, I mean, you're looking at the likes of Kwan Treadwell again, and you know, I just don't think that that's necessarily the answer at this stage of the game. I I truly look at this. As a case where you know, let's see how some of these top teams perform, but you know, it's hard to weeding out the pretenders from a contender. So I just look at it. This is a. A case where you know. I think Seattle Wentz this game. I think they covered a three and a half points. I don't think Minnesota's nearly as good as people give him credit for. And so I will go with a Seattle. Even though I'm not necessarily the biggest Russell Wilson supporter. But I do think that Seattle is good enough to get the W here. So that doesn't for the pixel. Let's get into the offense lineups shortly in kind of go through what the thought process I have gone into this week fourteenth slate as far as.

"But he did he did all he could with the T me has. Let's get real. Yeah. I think the Packers are very limited football team and play calling. And I think is personnel. Haven't been nearly as good as it has in the past. And his numbers are reflective. But I thought he, you know, what's funny. His numbers actually, pretty good. It's twenty to twenty one touchdown passes and one pick on the season. Yeah. Isn't that? Like, that's what I was saying on friendly. Numbers in some years. Yeah. But the way he's been playing in the way the team at the team hasn't played around him. It's like he's struggling when realities not he has forty seven plays a series throwing the football way on either pass protection breakdowns right away early on in the play or receivers running there on route. And he rose throws it away forty seven times. In comparison. Drew Brees has eighty and completions on the season the entire season. That's that's jubilees is something else. It hitmen. Patrick, Mahomes are probably finding until they're for MVP and honestly Brees has his own. I think Brees has it in my opinion compared to Mahomes, but I understand the Mahomes argument. But anyways, keeps me going stronger cases weeks, go, absolutely. And for Kirk cousins. He had a pretty darn Gigi himself, stats wise, all things considered. He went and twenty nine to thirty eight three hundred and forty two yards and three. Touchdowns average nine yards pass. So and what from his risk from his running game from his receiver from his running backs. Excuse me. He wasn't getting much from them. So he basically did all he could to really put that team into the victory column. Yeah. In you know, what they need to give the ball Devon, cook more. They I know they don't want him to over extend. They don't want him to get hurt because he's missed a lot of time and his head nagging injuries this whole season. I think the I think they're thinking about if we make the playoffs we want to utilize him. And if we're using too much in the regular season, he might not be available for the postseason. Yeah. He is definitely something else. I mean, he's to me is like a cream hunt type player where he can kill you in the running game in the passing game. The Vikings offense alliance kind of not the best you could say to to be kind but getting him in space on his touch on. How good is to fund digs? Honestly, this guy. He's gone so much better. I mean, we I know he's in the shadow of Adam theeuwen, but an MTO owns a good player, but Stefan digs is one of the most athletic dynamic players that we have in this league. And that guy he is tufted. He came out of nowhere. Just like you. And I guess yeah. The kind of they I don't I don't believe digs was a first round pick. He was not a first round pick. And usually it just like you don't he's he was a Li round draft fuel is under outed and both. These guys are probably one the best run rider. See reduce in the NFL. Yeah. Exactly. He was a fifth round picks. The fun dig. Feelin undrafted. And then you gotta go go Kwan Treadwell who sits behind them who was the first round pick in their shadows incredible had one reception for six yards. Yeah. He's he's really non factor. Yeah. And Phelan eight receptions, one hundred twenty five yards and digs eight reception. Seventy seven yards and he voted into touchdowns. Yeah. Yeah. He digs had another one or two big plays where cousins just missed them. So that that offense when it's clicking is pretty darn good. But sometimes it does look a little discombobulated big big word. I like that. But you're right. This team. This team is very talent wise, they have it. Right. They got good tight in. They got two really good resources inconsistent. But they played to a lower level. They should be. They do weird things. So like last night. I'm watching the game. Why does it take you until the third series to get? Dalvin cook the ball like tick you the third series of the football game to give your best running back the football in any regard hand off a pass. And I get it. They don't want to over extend him..

"Three four NBC while the entire countries clamoring for the Monday night bachelor between the Rams and the Kansas City Chiefs. We've got some other business tend to Sunday night on will feature. Well, control of the NFC north is the Chicago Bears host the Minnesota Vikings. Joining us now is Tom faira former bear who won a Super Bowl under. Mike ditka. Back in the day. And now is part of the bears radio network. As an analyst Tommy appreciate a couple of minutes, my friend. How you big I'm doing well, Mark. Thanks for having me. I appreciate it. Yeah. No. It's always good talking football with you. So I guess my first question Tom, did you see this coming because over the last six games just bears offenses averaging over thirty four points per game since week four. It seems like the light bulb has gone on permit Trubisky and they're playing lights out. You know, Mark when they went back and they hired Matt Maggie and. And every time he approached the podium. He had a clear cut message. And he did a great job of explaining what the next job is gonna be after you, install the offense meant getting Mitchell involved in, you know, everything he said his come true. And so everybody is on board in terms of the fan base believing. What he says it's going to happen. And he's never talked about the next opponent. He's only talked about getting better throughout the next week of practice. And I do think that's the way it needs to be discussed right now. Because Mitchell Trubisky is in the infancy stages of learning this offense understanding terminology, and how it fits according to the ten other guys that are standing in the huddle. And then last week after what eight nine ten weeks of the season stay introduce a no huddle offense. So everything that Matt has provided for the fan base has come true. And I think that's the one thing why the players. Believe in him. They understand what he is saying is to benefit their future. So I think the bears are still a young team. They're far behind the Minnesota Vikings. But they're era was pointed up, and we'll get to the match up here in a second as you. Well know Tommy that the relationship between quarterback of the guys in the huddle was special. And then of course, the the relationship between the head coach and the quarterback, especially I've seen some NFL films. Soundtrack stuff were mad Nagy, his grab Mitchell Trubisky and whispered in his ear that I'm challenging you challenging you. Now to be great to do something. I haven't seen you do before. You don't often get to hear those conversations and for the first time because I think Matt Nagy is a bit of an unknown. This guy seems to not only inspire the team. But he's got Mitchell Trubisky on the fast rap now in terms of his development. Yeah. You know? I think wanting affairs relatable from Matt's experiences a football player to the quarterback position. He has a great deal of experience from the arena league. And you can speak to this better than I can't. However, if there's anything that's transferable from the arena league to the NFL. It's the speed in which you have to get the ball out of your hands to run an offense efficiently. And Matt Nagy he true through the development and the mentoring ship of Andy Reid. Matt Nagy has a great mind for offense a football. And he brought in Marquel freight you as a background with our Oregon football e Br he kept Dave or gone here who has a background in Louisville football. And he brought in chase Daniel. So there is a great supporting cast around Mitchell Trubisky and Batman each what it is the direct relationship and the offense because Matt is the play caller for Mitchell Trubisky. But you know, Mark if you're a quarterback, you have to be sell invested in learning the terminal up today's football, and we hear that phrase all he's the last to be he's the first to common. He's. Ladder to go home. Mitchell Trubisky is he's completely invested in the everything that coach Nagy has asked out of them. They feed him a little bit more each week, according to the next game plan, and you know, everything that Mitch has been asked to do. He's done for coach Nagy. So coach Nagy is getting more information each week there benefit him and help the offense of attack and we're talking with former bears offensive linemen and now part of the bears radio network as an analyst Tom thera under center, man. I listen that defense is really good Thompsons. The addition of Cleal MAC and now since he's come back from an ankle injury. I mean, he is a game record. And I when he's healthy that's a top three top five defense in the league. Would you agree? One hundred percent, you know, and that's another thing going back to Matt Maggie. What was the mature mature thing for him to do as newly hired head coach is the keep an experienced defensive coordinator here in Vic Fangio, and he's got the experience out the new. Orleans era, or the San Francisco era, it even back into the USFL. So when he they were they went out, and they drafted roquan Smith, and it's almost we have to talk about roquan as well as coil max. 'cause Khalil Mack was dropped on their laps after the preseason was over and then he was fitted into the game plan going right into week one with three days of practice and no training camp. Roquan Smith was the first round hold out, which is unusual in today's collective bargaining agreement. Got here tweaked his hamstring in. Then was able to start getting some work before the first week of the season. And Khalil Mack is destructive as he's been on the edge. And he's been more of a senior leader in the locker room that other than other guys were before he got here. And then the emergence of role Kwan Smith the way he's playing on the inside, you know, they drafted Leonard Floyd a couple of years ago. They have Khalil Mack. They have roquan Smith. Danny trevathan a bunch of other Keith. Components of that defense. So this is a defense. I think looking to get into the top five in order to get that respect they need. Yeah. Looks like step on digs will be returning for the Vikings as well as Quanta Treadwell. Of course, everybody knows what atom feeling is doing. But as I was looking at the numbers Tommy one of the things that kind of jumped off the page at me is the struggles at this bears defense has had against tight ends this year. And of course, we've got Kyle Rudolph coming in as you called these games and you sit down and you break down the tape. What has been the problem? They're the biggest weakness the bears have defensively speaking is crossing routes against the linebackers and they've been exposed to every single team. And I don't know. I don't think it's inefficiency or inability to cover. I think it's more aggressiveness at the line of scrimmage, and then trying to get your responsibilities and then because the quarterback has time he finds those crossing routes, but you know, Mark if you back up, you know, Kirk cousins is to and I'll against the bears as a member of the Washington Redskins in my time getting prepared for this game. I went back and watch both of those games at Kirk cousins played against the Chicago Bears against the Vic Fangio, let defense in a lot of the routes that he hit those games were they eleven to eighteen yard rows between the transition of the cornerback in the safety coverage in that zone area. So when I look at them feeling I think, Stefan and. Yeah. Kwan Treadwell they hold better for him that route scares me, but you brought up. The fact that scares me as either crossing routes from Kyle Rudolph or even some crossing routes out of the back field up. Alvin cook. Yeah. Tell me before I get you out of here. And you're busy guy. Appreciate a couple of minutes as you look at this game and you prepare for it for Sunday night. What's the most critical matchup between the two teams, in your opinion, the guy that scares me the most because he's closest to the quarterback in a young quarterback like Mitchell Trubisky as lyndale Joe, self defensive tackle? I know. It's not sexy to talk about when you think of all the playmakers. However, the guy that can be the most disruptive either against RPO's three step drops. Or even throwing out of the shotgun position. The bears have a rookie left guard. And they have a guy that's been here for a couple of weeks and Brian Whitman at the right guard position if they can't stop Sheldon Richardson Lynn Ville, Joseph a number one in the other guys they have backing up. It's really difficult to run that fishing RPO offense with Jordan Howard, tree calling to be a threat in the backfield. So, you know, that's the one guy that scares me, the quickest and the trubisky's face, very good point, Tom. I know you're busy. We appreciate a couple of minutes as always, my friend. We looked at touch base with you again at some point down the road and have a great call on Sunday night. While markup, I'm talking to you. That means the bears are doing well. Top their ladies and gentlemen, again. A starting offensive guard on that great eighty-five bears team that won a Super Bowl. And now he is the analyst for the bears radio network. Getting us ready for that Sunday night game bound for the NFC north division control. Again, the bears are six and three while the the Minnesota Vikings are five three and one. That's to be a terrific game, by the way. All right again, the number eight five five three two three four ABC's jump on. And join the conversation. Take a quick break. "I don't care if the cornerback lines upside you. That's an option route where you have to know the option you have to have enough report with your Steve maybe they're too new to have that report Julian Ataman option route. Will you got to anticipate it correctly? You don't see Tom Brady throw pick six off an option round. But here's the thing with option route you reading man's own skin PJ, William jumping if your pocket there's no zone to that. He threw it to pay. Jay Jay was the intendant on style. He just went the other way. He can't do that. You don't get that. It's just an option around the guest wrong. Oh, nothing. Shallow, crawls. He I think it was an option round, you know, first of all if it was an option route he's not going to go past the ball any option out. No option about it's going to take you pass the ball. So if he's going to run an object it's going to it's going to be between defender and attack. Oh bhatt. He went too far. He went to the other side of the ball, which left me. No. That's a shallow cross PJ way of at the snap of the ball jumps in his pocket. That's telling him, man. Covers you do not pull up because of you stop. And the quarterback throws it gift. What's going to happen? He dude had reservation for six to the end zone. All I gotta tell you is that pair of receivers for the Vikings makes Kirk cousins, look a lot better than he should look because he throws balls that that are just crazy balls. And they go up and snatch them or come back. Do those are the two best at finding the foot. Ball and changing repositioning the football. They're both really really good at it. And there were four or five throws last night where I said, oh that's up for grabs. And they one time sneak feeling just went over yet and digs will come back for one. He say, wow. These guys are really good. But in that case he throws it right to PJ pick six, and you just can't do it in a game of that magnitude Sunday night football close game. And all I know is as a cowboy fan. I miss Kirk cousins playing for the Washington Redskins. Do do. Yeah. He was one in six against the Cowboys. Because he always they're always hidden blunders in his QBR that play whatever who's ever faulted is you just have to eliminate it. Is it digs fault? Or is it just should the quarterback not of tried it at all whatever it is. It's a typical Kirk cousins play. And then I gotta go back to the previous play that was the fourth and one play. This is a huge play a game. They had a fourth and one at their forty five. Mike Zimmer says we're gonna go for it. And who does Kirk cousins choose on the play? He truces chooses lay Kwan Treadwell who's not trust what he's less trustworthy than Kirk cousins. I know, but has not dropped a lot of them. All. Hey, all right. So don't choose him. What I'm saying? It's just cousins picking the wrong guy. I would never throw him fourth in one and throw that deep of a pass to this should be pop pass to somebody for three yards ski. Here's the guy. That's a first round pick. He has one on one coverage. I hit him in the hands and before he security give the way the DB's the first round pick to Lattimore. Yes. But should he not caught this ball? The ball hated minivan's. A huge play is in the saints. Go right down the field goal in all sudden they're off to the races. And then the pick six apples on the next series and the games virtually over skew in her cousins thing like that. When they eleven guys on the field. The coach feel those are the best Levin guys. Nobody can be off limits. Once you start negating, we're not this guy because he's not Shannon Sharpe door to this guy. Because no you out for reason you win the ball's coming weeks, but you to make a play is simple. Out the first mount p. He's not a undrafted free agent round pick. I loved it..

"Ages is he the guy who's got the trust of the city. He stood up to Angelo. Okay. But do you want your morning man, dictating what the team should be doing? No, disrespect Angelo. But anyway, yoga usually, you don't say. Media manage you know, what I mean? Yeah. What if coaches and managers worry about the media, then you know, then ever going to get anywhere. That's a big time concern. I mean when when he is because he's like he wasn't even responding to like like he was on hold Angeles said something about him. Then he responded he said, I read your article it, which is not the right? Like, he took the time to seek out that article and read it and go task knows great radio. Glad they did it, but he shouldn't be going out there reading articles him and the team. It's it's honesty because they re they all read every I get the newspaper Bs Bs and all of that, you come is human nature, if somebody's talking about you you want to know you here. I don't believe that anybody doesn't listen to the radio. I don't believe that anybody doesn't read the paper or maybe not now because not around anymore much. You know what I mean? But I can't believe, but I like the idea that you know, he read it. I like the idea that I heard the conversation between him and angel. I thought it was great. I thought angel handled. It very well. He didn't like it was very it was it was an intelligent conversation between two intelligent men and not a guy doing a radio bid, you know, trying to w talking to her. No. It was very well. It was well thought out on both sides, and based on that I get where capital, you know, where he's coming from what he's trying to do. I just wonder is he the guy especially if you're going to open the checkbook and bringing in high priced guys is he the guy that's ready to take this team to the next level. It's a good question. The more you've talked about Girardi the more sold. I've been like maybe they should hire Joe Girardi experience. But for whatever it is like, but now the Kappler is here and in the building Kenny be that guy. Let's let's say he's not right. Maybe it doesn't work out. And he gets fired after next year. The nice thing is that even if you go and sign Bryce Harper. You got them for nine years after that you're signing such a long term contract. You'll still have Bryce Harper in his prime, and you're going to be able to take this team wherever you want to go is he gonna wanna come for Kappler for four hundred million dollars. You will you know? Yankees are five hundred million dollars. Bruno. Got a limited money. But I mean with avenue Boone is no great shakes either. Is that is that whole well, the book is still open, but we're turning the page in baseball now. And you know, because it's taken so long for it to happen here. The fans are upset. This is what fans and other teams went through years ago. And now they've adjusted analytics now Philadelphia's going to just there, but the easy thing. What makes people adjust to add Olympics winning as long as you're winning? You know, he was joyous day. That the Phillies win if it gets to a point where let's say next year. They do win the division or they at least make the wildcard the backtracking or talking around analytics rather than acknowledging that it's part of the reason why there is going to be hysteric hysterical. Yeah. And that's that. We gotta talk about. I gotta say because I am where you were at the championship game. I think the Vikings are the better team. I think the Vikings win this weekend. And I'm not going to go on TV and eat anything. Took literally three eggs to the face for that pick exited face. I once walked the streets and address so we're beyond that. I was I was there when you got fitted for it. I think every time I see calling wolf on television. I remember that day my, but but the I mean, we know a Kirk cousins can do against the eagles the Vikings. This is their game. This is what we circled on their calendar. This is you know, that was that game that you know, they were so full of themselves. They were so pumped they get to the NFC championship game. And they got to be blown out like that in this city and the repercussions of which they remade their team. They went I got a different quarterback. How many teams good to the championship game and changed the quarterback? Yeah. And spent eighty eighty five guaranteed million something like the guy in Jared unprecedented that kind of guaranteed money, by the way, never like, literally never even close something. Like that before. I mean. This. I think is the Vikings. This is their must win this is their season. And they're one two and one now right and the eagles are two into. So I think it's it's really important for him to come in here and win I think for all that they've done. And plus I think they're in better shape right now eagles more banged up. And you know, cousins knows how to handle the eagle defense. He seen it more. So than case Laden. Philly a lot played again played in Philly played against philli. You've got def- Lippo is the offensive coordinator, you know, who knows Carson Wentz here. So I think it's going to be a good game. I don't pick against them all the time. But I think the Vikings get a real good shot this week. They do pretty good shot. They're coming off rest ten days. Rest eagles played over time. So it's not a great spot for them. It's just you know, what it is. I still believe in that defensive line. And they still look good as much as the numbers aren't there? Bandits playing like most of the game. He's good. A good enough to play most of the game. I mean he's actually played if he plays at the same rate throughout the season. He's actually on track to play almost three hundred less snaps than he did last year in Seattle three hundred and not gonna have the rotation that the user because of the injuries of they've got, but it could be, you know, they're out Barnett this week which apart which is a big deal, you know. And then you got you know, those defensive backs are gonna have to chase, you know, digs and Adam falen, and you know. Who's the third guy? Forget now. Oh, well, they added. Well, the other not added, but Kwan Treadwell Kyle Rudolph. Yeah. It'd be. Title. Rudolph is is a bigger deal than Treadwell at this point. But Treadwell was the big receiver to take in the draft and that wasn't long ago. Maybe two years ago. He was a top ten pick. I want to say, and I thought he was going to be good. I thought he was going to be the next Michael Crabtree. And not that that's like a big time compliment, but crabtree's good receivers had a long career all those things in it. Just hasn't worked out so far. But I will say this to the Vikings. They don't have Everson Griffen. I believe because he's been going through God. I mean, it's bad stuff. Like, that's that's beyond ball problem. Tons of stuff, and you hope for the best for him. But that is a big deal to them. And the defense isn't as good as it is. They talk a lot about the Vikings blitzing. They haven't been blitzing a lot this year. And they've been getting torched all over the place. So the opportunities are there. I don't know. I'm I'm so intrigued really this Aucoin flipped kinda game. I just want to believe the eagles can win at home. All right. Let's see what what if the eagles were to lose this game. And the giants could find the way to go. Here we go we get through in three we get. Here we go next Thursday night to and free. Yeah. That would be drama until the giants. Go two and four in their season. Sponge out control. How's that saquon pick? Well, you got to give him the ball. They gave the ball ten times last week. Yeah. Well, if they give it to him in the backfield. It doesn't go anywhere. He stays there. When you guys see what happens? I mean. It's hysterical. I've seen I can see the future. It's not pretty base snap the ball. The Eli my time you like gets the boys got to defensive ends on each side of them ready to pounce. And then the first thing he does he ever looked outfield. Give me the ball sake. I it's like it's like a motion. Now catch throw patch. What the hell that I have a duty. Oh, yeah. God forbid Eli holds a baby at this point. Bam gone. Yeah. I mean, he's he's your shell shock from that line. And they would last week where there were. I mean there are times when he could make throws. But there are times that I think Jordan were non tweeted out, and you could see where he's standing behind a perfect pocket. And he still missing receivers, you know, he's just he's had years of getting his brains beaten. And I'm glad they took bark. We've been meeting maybe next year. They will take the quarterback. You may see Eli. I think Stephen said you may see Eli retire unless he's able to, you know, get comfortable you should they're not gonna win. I mean, they're just they're not a Super Bowl team this year or next year most likely they to get the engine started. And Shurmur has got no matter. What say just there was a time. Backing when Parcells had the giants when he tells SIMS I don't care if you throw an interception on every play go out there and throw the ball. And that's what got him started. He got to do that would Eli because I've never seen anything like this. It takes an hour and a half the giants move downfield all these days. Lincoln dunk short passes. The the saints at a horrible defense. They were given up four hundred yards a game. And they would with a simple cover to contain the other teams. No, all you. Gotta do is stay back ten yards. He's not going for it. And I'll keep it can. I mean, even if you wanted to cancel line so bad like the giants are just riddled with all sorts of problems. It's bad. So by this time next week, right? The eagles and the giants will play two games. Yeah. Let's see where they'll be in O'Connor's coming on tonight to wrote the book. Okay. That'll be cool. So stay tuned for that. That is Steve trevelise. I'm Vince Quinn again. I'll be with you every Friday night now. So this show good for you. Because I will be here every week now. "Paul Allen knew it was coming. You could tell at the very beginning. The way was setting the scene. He knew he was resigned to the fact that Daniel Carlson was going to miss it. Even though this kick was more like the extra points that he had made he had made three extra points on the day right down the middle. Just about the same distance as an extra point. But he had missed a forty eight yarder had missed a forty nine yard. I'm in your head water. He'd been caught up by Mike Zimmer for missing kicks during the preseason. And now the rookie draft pick who had displaced KAI forbath Daniel Carlson may just be a matter of time before he's former Vikings kicker. I was told yesterday Dan Bailey. The former cowboy who's out there and available. He's already turned down four. Very good. Offers phone was ringing yesterday. As a result of struggles by multiple teams waiting for the right team, which would probably leave out the Browns who also had kicking woes yesterday. If you didn't hear they could have beaten the saints that they had a guy who could make kicks. Dan bail is going to make some money because somebody is going to sign him and the Vikings went through a couple of years ago with Blair walls. Police Blair Walsh had a body of work where he was good before he missed the twenty seven yarder. Why'd left in the playoff loss to the Seahawks to cap the twenty fifteen season. And they kept thinking he'll get it back. You'll get it back. You'll get back for Carlson. It's he doesn't have any doesn't have any doesn't have it. It's too easy to replace a kicker all due respect. And I know that you know. Our good friend, Pat McAfee for the brand he's a big supporter of the punters and kickers. But the reality is there are plenty of other punters and kickers out there. And if one guys not getting it done as the field goal kicker you find another one, and there are plenty of others out there. It's one job make kicks. That's it. And look there's no blown assignment miscommunication. It's no one else is fault. Either. Make the kicker you don't now. Sometimes it's a bad snap sometimes at the bad hold. Sometimes the laces are pointing in the wrong spot. But still you have to make the kick. And I think that Carlson is going to be getting the boot in Minnesota sooner rather than later. The good is for the Vikings. Is they didn't lose. They were down twenty two seven at Lambeau Field. It was done. It was over and kudos to Kirk cousins. Earning his money thirty five for forty eight four hundred twenty five yards. Four touchdowns and one interception. And look that interception was a result of Liqun Treadwell who cannot catch kickers have one job kick receivers have one job receive. If you can't catch the ball you shouldn't be on the field. And they kept putting them back on the field because they don't have a whole lot of options. There was a point that we made last week an item I wrote a PF after the Quan Treadwell had a key drop against the forty Niners. And he had two drops. He was targeted four times. And he dropped to last week. He had three drops that I can remember from yesterday. He's there number three guy by default. It goes Adam Phelan, Stefan, digs one a and one A. And then there's a huge drop. Tila, Kwan Treadwell I I saw Stacey calling on the field. More after treadwell's started driving. All this talk about who's going to sign Dez Bryant who's going to trade for Josh, Gordon if on the Vikings, I'm not just looking for a kicker. I'm looking for a slot receiver. I'm looking for a number three guy that I can put out there with digs in theon. And if I'm Dez Bryant or Josh, Gordon, I love that opportunity to play with a couple of guys who are great. The catch by Phelan on the touchdown that resulted in the game tying to pointer. That was incredible incredible throw incredible concentration. Incredible everything except defense. It got through to Packers. What the hell just happened the balls thrown to the corner. There's two Packers in front of Adam feeling somehow feeling has the ball. Wait a minute feeling has the ball any scored? Are you kidding me? And then the long played is too fond digs when it looked like it was over. I mean, the Vikings had no business tying that game up. The Vikings blue that game after the la- Kwan Treadwell off of his hands and into the hands of a Packer and then. On the next drive when Kirk cousins had a chance to try to tie. It up goes deep overshoots everyone except gyro exander the rookie Packers corner. But wait claim Matthews penalized for roughing the passer, and we're so conditioned now to look for the body weight ruled the new rule the Aaron Rodgers rule. That if you land with most or all of your body weight on the quarterback. It's a foul. That's not what the call was yesterday. Tony Karenni explained it to a pool reporter after the game. We addressed it last night at PF. I talked to some people knowledgeable of these situations. It's two different rules. You can't land with most or all of your body weight on the pass or that's the Tony Siragusa smoshing. Rich gannon. Remember that one stats? I do intentionally flatland him. He just flattened him. That's what you're not allowed to do. That's new the lifting up the quarterback and driving him into the ground is not new and that is loosely known by some in the league as burping the quarterback. Because if you do it right when he hits the ground if he's got any air inside of his body is going out one way or the other and more palatable caller burping. He didn't he didn't lift them up and driving liberal him up and drove into the turf. Yes, he did. Okay. Well, you need to get better glasses. Then just because the quarterback goes in the air. Doesn't mean the clay Matthews. Did he did he he lifted him up and drove into ground stats? That's the ruling. And the pro here's here's here's my hot take. And this was something that was fashioned on the fly last night with my friends, big cat and PFC commoner on the highly popular pardon. My take podcast because we were talking about what what what is the penalty. What's not a penalty? If you want to remove all ambiguity as relates to what can and can't be done to a quarterback. I have an easy solution. No one's gonna like it. But it's an easy solution. You apply the same rules apply to punters and kickers once a balls out. You can't touch them. And if you run into it's at least five yards, then it's in the discretion of the official weather. It's five or fifteen. But then there's no guessing you don't have twenty different ways guy can be roughed. There's one way if you hit him when the ball is thrown out, then it's at least five yards. Maybe it's fifteen depending upon the degree of the contact. You can hit them before. And if you tip the ball, you can you can smash into him afterward. Now, the problem is they're still prohibition against roughing before the quarterback throws unlike kickers and punters you can dive into the guy's legs. You can do whatever you want to the kicker and punters long as you blocked the punt or hidden before he punts it. So the quarterback would still have extra protection beyond kicker and punter. But if you're going to have that kind of a protection for kicker and punter why wouldn't you have a protection like that for? Quarterback far more important position. And wouldn't it be easier? I mean, we hear all the time about. The integrity of the game and public confidence in the game. And how do you have full public confidence? When the rule book is so complicated. That people can't even get on the same page as to what rule was violated. And look I don't I don't want to our own horn here. But we're the only ones who are explaining what rule was actually violated here. Everybody else thinks it's the body weight rule. It's not and the referee has said it's not it wasn't helmet to helmet. It wasn't body bodyweight. It was lifting the quarterback off the ground and driving them into the turf, and that's been illegal for a long time. So if we can't keep it straight, if we don't understand it if it can't be processed and discerned if it's too complicated. Then fine. Let's just say it's the same situation as a punt or kick once the balls away. You can't touch the quarterback period. All but that'll change everything. How much will it really change? How much will it really change? If that were the rule. And if nothing else it takes away all this guesswork working ambiguity about what in the heck happened when a quarterback gets hit. And it looks like it's a football play. Because it looks a lot like a tackle any other player in the open field. That's what confuses fans. Why is there? A flag for something. That happens all the time. Down the field. Why? And when there are so many different ways that you can rough a passer it just confuses fans as to win. It's a foul. And when it's not a foul, and even if it all makes sense when we talk about it and break it down. Fans don't want to accept it. Clay Matthews wasn't happy about it. Kirk cousins called it. A generous decision. He got away with one though and to his credit. He made the most of it. How do you feel? If your Kirk cousins, you did everything you can get one of your best games your career, and because of your kicker, you didn't get a win. Did you see the tweet from Tom current? He was silent everybody stop praising Kirk cousins. Because he got a mulligan. Thanks for the call on the interception, which I didn't think was fair because that stuff happens all the time the most of it. He's never gotten a mulligan. Exactly. Tuck rule. Yeah. Yeah. The last guy who should be touting a mulligan the entire patriot dynasty unlocked by the tuck rule. We love you, Tom. Come on. It was still a great game. It just was unsatisfying to ties in the first two weeks. The first time since the seventy one season. There was a tie each of the first two weeks and back then there was no overtime to resolve it. I, you know, I know the NFL has this thing about college football. And it doesn't want to adopt to many of the things college football doesn't remember how shocked I was when the NFL added the two point conversion because it was like, hey, you know, the NFL's got this attitude about college football like we're better than them. We're not going to start taking their rules. Why not just do the twenty five yard overtime? Why not do that? That's worked for twenty five years in college football. Now, they used up until nineteen Ninety-four college football tie ninety four they embraced the twenty five yard over time. You get the ball at the twenty five going in first and ten go. And after what the the second round you must go for two. Are they concerned it's gonna screw up the the record book because you're gonna have games that go to three four overtimes. You have a bunch of garbage touchdowns fantasy football people would love it wouldn't they stats? Wouldn't you love that wouldn't mind it? That's for damn sure. I could get used to it. What would be the reason for not doing that? And you could end these games a lot earlier right there. The one of the reasons they move from fifteen minutes to ten minutes was to make sure that you don't have somebody playing on a Thursday night that ended up playing for seventy five minutes on Sunday. This was all about propping up.

We're not going to start taking their rules. Why not just do the twenty five yard overtime? Why not do that that's worked for twenty five years in college football? Now, they used up until nineteen Ninety-four college football tie ninety four they embrace the twenty five yard over time. You get the ball at the twenty five going in first and ten go. And after what the the second round you must go for two. Are they concerned it's gonna screw up the the record book because you're going to have games that go to three four overtimes. You got a bunch of garbage touchdowns fantasy football people would love it wouldn't they stats? Wouldn't you love that? I wouldn't mind it. That's for damn sure. I could get used to it. What would be the reason for not doing that? And you could end these games a lot earlier right there. They're the one of the reasons they moved from fifteen minutes to ten minutes was to make sure that you don't have somebody playing on a Thursday night that ended up playing for seventy five minutes on Sunday. This was all about propping up.

"I'm drawing a blank here with Michael Thomas draw Blake old age, and he is down at the thirty yard line. They only thirty yard line. He races several yards. I'm touch, but they said he was down. But the replay showed Michael Thomas was not touched at thirty yard line with the fifty nine second Mark before half the buccaneers on top thirty one do seventeen Rene. Thank you so much again. A stunning first-half. Look what they have done especially without Jaimes Winston up fourteen on the saints whose defense look so good a year ago giving up a lot of points in this first half. But again, it is the super dome and drew Brees is there, and they are capable of anything in a second half. But right now trying to get some before the end of the half down thirty one seventeen halftime at MetLife stadium. Giants end Jaguars giants able to get some points, but come up a little short of their expectations on that. Final drive in the first half. Here's mike. Thank you. So that's right act. They were aided by to pass interference penalties against Odell Beckham. It got the ball down deep inside the Jacksonville territory. In fact to the eleven yard line. They had to settle for an algebra Ross field goals and thirty one yards out. So we are at halftime Jacksonville on top of the giants. Thirteen to six giants have struggled with penalties on offense themselves, including right guard, Eric flowers who suffered on the left side last year. So he's now over on the right side at right tackle in not not playing very well. At this point. Blake Bortles twelve of seventeen four hundred twenty three yards quarterbacking for Jacksonville, Leonard fournette forty one yards rushing, but he was forced to leave in the second quarter with a hamstring issue. LA manning eleven of twelve for ninety eight yards. He hasn't been sacked twice Beckham has five catches for forty five yards and saquon Barkley the giants, I John backdrop running back at Penn State. Eight carries. For twelve yards. So we're at halftime Jacksonville on top of the giants thirteen to six. Thank you very much. Mike man-kyu shown again Leonard for net questionable his return due to a hamstring injury. On the giants again coming up short on that final drive trailing at the half thirteen to six to the Jaguars. Let's go to Eric Nelson. Right now the Vikings and the forty nine is the Vikings had forced a fumble. Did they get to keep it? Eric degree in favor of Minnesota the Vikings Iran or their nineteen ninety eight senior in a matter of minutes that was the club that reached the NFC championship game with Randall Cunningham. Randy moss. In this out on a Super Bowl trip. This current edition of the Vikings. They have Super Bowl hopes right now. They have a seven point lead on the forty Niners. The newcomer Kirk cousins has been very good in the fourteen to twenty four hundred sixty five yard touchdown go round to Stefan. Read the ball around Adam feeling with the four catches Galvin's foot by. Up on three and LA Kwan Treadwell has. For the forty Niners. Jimmy Garoppolo seven of thirteen eighty one. Alfred Morris has rushed nine times for forty yards. But he did cough the ball up late in the second quarter at the one yard line of Minnesota as the forty Niners at a chance to potentially day. It's boring. So far is the cousin? The digs Daniel Carlson field for Minnesota. And Robbie you'll go for San Francisco. So it's I and it's been physical here. In Minneapolis in the first half the Vikings on top of the forty Niners three. Thank you very much. Erik nelson. Where the Vikings holding on one touchdown lead over the forty Niners early on the Vikings defense doing a terrific job early. Let's go to Miami. Jack armed priests are standing by for more on the titans and dolphins. Hey, rich. We're still in that weather delay minute. Eleven to go here in the second quarter. When I believe they're doing those taking the halftime thing now because they said, it'd be at least twenty minutes. There was lightning strike within one mile of the stadium. And the officials pulled everybody off the field but up at that time it was a third and one from their own twenty four for the titans with a minute. Eleven to go here in the first half. The dolphins have a seven three lead. The only touchdown of the game. Coming on a Ryan tannehill to Kenny stills ten yard touchdown toss for the game. Ten hotel eleven of thirteen for ninety one yards and that score Marcus mariota nine of thirteen for one hundred and three you're on the ground. That's the big surprise. Frank gore today. Five carries for forty nine yards. He's moved into fourth place now on your time rushing list which is first game today, which I think was twelve yards. If I'm not mistaken and overall the dolphins underneath eighty nine yards of Puerto offense to just one hundred and forty four Tennessee as I mentioned, we're on a weather delay made at eleven to go here in the first half the dolphins on top seven to three. You know? It's ironic Jack that with the rain. Up and down the east coast, the one place, we get the weather delays in Miami. We talk free game. I said it was you know, it was, you know, look great down here. I hung up with you. And there was a spot shower we've had two or three of those showers. But there is you know, there is some lightning out in the area. I guess they did the right thing. But you know, time will tell so they said at least a twenty minute. Wait. Right. So we will see and wait out the weather delay, but the storms move quickly in Florida, but just a couple of minutes. Go look beautiful down there. So I guess the weather patterns can change very very quickly before we go to George Montgomery. The ravens have added another Justin Tucker goal. His second of the day from thirty nine yards out. It's now Baltimore on top twenty to nothing and the saints have come back with fifty five seconds left. They now trail thirty one to twenty four drew Brees is second touchdown pass the day. This one of six yards to Michael Thomas. Let's go to George Montgomery right now for more on the Bengals in the colts, George, okay, rich word. Halftime Indianapolis surprise me. Leads the Cincinnati Bengals sixteen to ten and it's been on the arm of Andrew lock and the foot of the ageless was wine. Adam Bennett Terry on the day. We'll go with Bennett, Terry. I he has three field goals today to push his second all time in the NFL history. But Andrew lock who has been out for nineteen months. Since two sixteen basically when he threw for over four thousand yards on the day locks has had one touchdown one interception. But he is twenty twenty five for a hundred and seventy yards. He's been spraying the ball around too tight in Eric Hebron, wideout T Y Hilton and white out Ryan grants. Indianapolis, total offense to thirty two thing goes one sixty two Andy Dalton on the day the quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals. He's eight of eleven four excuse me. ESPN of fourteen for one hundred and eight yards. Ten touchdowns. Excuse me. One touchdown and one interception. Once again guys were at halftime here in Indianapolis. Indianapolis leases Cincinnati Bengals sixteen to ten. He's six point lead for the colts. Sandra luck can impressive. I heavy. Does have an interception, but twenty twenty-five a buck seventy through the air. Let's go to Darryl writer Steelers and Browns, very low scoring affair and a very close one. Again. Here's Darryl with more James Connors four yard touchdown. The only scoring and the half in this one in Pittsburgh leads it here intermission seven to nothing the Cleveland Browns offense, while looks like the same old Cleveland Browns, regardless of the quarterback, regardless of the running back the receivers or whoever is calling the plays. They have as many penalty seven as first downs. They were outgained one hundred and ninety six yards to ninety eight despite forcing Ben Rothlisberger to throw three interceptions in the first half. Two of those picked off by number four overall. Pick Denzel ward safety Maria's Randall required in the off season from Green Bay. He has the other interception, but rothlisburger ten of nineteen for one hundred and thirty one yards, and as I mentioned those three interceptions. Tyrod taylor. Eleven fifty yards four Cleveland halftime seven nothin Steelers. All right. Thank you very much. So again, these two teams played two very close games last year, but not much offense doing today between the weather and a pair of defenses that have shut the other down. All we have is the James CONNER touchdown run thus far. So the ravens crushing the bills Nathan Peterman. Having a rough day Josh Allen, the first round pick may not be far behind off to see. But the rain coming down in Baltimore. New England has just scored Philip door set with a four yard reception. From Tom Brady is four receptions in this first half forty yards and the touchdown there as the patriots go up twenty two six with a point after pending halftime now in New Orleans buccaneers lead the saints by a score of thirty one to twenty four. Let's get you caught up to date on the rest of week one of the NFL and much much more time for the latest sports update. Here's..

"He's a guy that makes up for the deficiencies team with Maggie. I think we see rain bay. Houston Texans Super Bowl. It's not good for the jets fan. So let's see Muhammad Wilkerson win a Super Bowl. No. I'm not picking them to win. And I think that the Texans are gonna win. Oh, you do. Yeah. I think the Texas. I thought you said Roger's gonna win. MVP? I think I think the Houston Texans us you see what they were. They have so much speed have youth. They have three guys that can get after the quarterback reminds me of when the giants had tuck. OC? Stray hand, I think you know, when when the game slows down you get into the dog days of the season of walking stay healthy there's going to be too much to deal with. And I think they go through the New England Patriots to get their somebody's got to retire. Tom Brady why? Now, Whitney mercilus today. Get wow. Wow. I didn't think you were going to pull the upset say Green Bay was gonna win. You're picking fact on Saturday earlier during the break. No, no. I've been right. So many other times though. Yeah. You have you. You are you are absolutely Boxster donnas. Well. For me. I am going a little bit off the board here. And it is I think somewhat of a surprise not in terms of who is a who. I have going in winning it. But the other team I have them beating the Minnesota Vikings going to the Super Bowl, and you must know this it absolutely kills me. It just kills me to pick Kirk cousins to go and win the Super Bowl. But to me, it's not about Kirk cousins. And what he can do to help them win a Super Bowl. I think they have too many weapons this year. Galvin cook healthy is a dynamic player. Pre. He really is. And I think he's a guy that a lot of people have forgotten about they have a very good tight end and Rudolf feeling digs. If lo Kwan Treadwell could ever get his act together. Did he get cut this year? No Harrison Smith. Yeah. I mean, they have so much. I work with and I feel like after last year they getting embarrassed in the NFC championship game. They probably feel like they've got some unfinished business. So I'm gonna take the Vikings to win the Super Bowl over. The Los Angeles chargers. Oh, yes. Off the board. I told you are you maybe. He stroke. Philip rivers is somebody that may that has always been underappreciated and Famer. I think he's a great quarterback. I really do. Yeah. He throws his share of interceptions. But I don't think if you really think about the league over the last ten years has there been any quarterback that has been asked to do more himself has it. Well, they've got Melvin Gordon now who is starting to round into a very good running back. I still think he's gonna ways to go. Hunter Henry, though, tells them that hurts. Jason Beretta for the season two, although he was out for the season last year. I think they're. I think Joey Bosa Ingram will add Melvin Ingram. I think Bosa will be the defensive MVP this year. Honestly, do I think he's got a chance to be really really really good? So I'm gonna take the chargers to go to the Super Bowl. I can't believe I'm saying that. But I I. My tickets to fold sometimes I'd like to go off the board. And I do like them this year. I don't know. Why can I just wait? So that's it. You're talking it in right? In writing stall well with both Senate a walking boot probably going to get a CD update chargers. Defensive end Joey Bosa suffered a left foot injury. Earlier practice today during team drills did not return. Got cream for that? If he's out for the gear where you allow me to change it on Monday. Nope. It makes it a lot came before the tweet Eric Williams, upstanding, timing. It happened at. Two thirty nine. Yeah. This is so wide open. Man. You can make a case for the Rams. You can make a case for the Saint you can make a case for the bike. And it's so wide open. You know, somebody's gonna surprise is this year gonna figure it out all at the same time. I wasn't even sure of the Vikings. We're gonna win the division. Now. You got me thinking not according to me Green Bay three quick picks all on the way, plus as many calls as we can get in before three CNBC on the fan..
