You know what war goes into it in the preparation, and really all the creativity that has really come from Ma to create these characters from pages of the script they. They really just kind of very vaguely are described to us, and we really have to kind of be the psychologists kind of like a you know a detective to find out who they are deeply. You know their psychology were they went to. School may be no place in live there in right now and you know where they shop apartment they have you know once their journey right now in the film you know. Article to character to you know so. We creatively just connected so strongly. She loved it I was in Europe. I grew up in Europe. Seven different point of view fashion more European, and that's what the film needed. So when she wrote she called me, said the girl. I really want you to do this. To bring something so fresh and fashion forward something that's not on the street. Because of the time it was all grunge. She knows all everybody was wearing their. PLATIN- Baggy Pants, and was oh. Kurt Cobain Nirvana and of fashions in the street, so those nothing to go from everything had to be invented, not taken from the runways Paris Amina Milan share. Would the only probably daddy flew her there? She probably had the tickets in the on the day and was able to know things that she liked then everything had to be translated into the high school. Because you know amy is director of the night. I want this to be very useful, very. Very very sweet, very feminine. You know girly and that's kind of what we are changing from French fashion. As they felt authentic, the they really were beloved in the end that you knew who share was nearly the aunt was and out of. That feeling that emotional feeling thing, and that's why the film has lived so long because it's such emotional connection that people have to film you know with the fashion with kind of making you feel good. Senna: The Early Years

"Dan Pass Gas. We're talking about the early years of Ayrton Senna. You know him as the legendary driver famous for winning multiple Formula One championships in nineteen, eighty, eight, nineteen, Ninety and nineteen ninety one he won an incredible forty one gram freeze on seventeen different tracks over the course of nine seasons. You probably also know how the story ends. At the age of thirty four while racing at the nineteen ninety four, San Marino, Grand Prix Senna crash on lap, set on leaving the track and a speed over a hundred eighty miles per hour, slammed into a concrete wall, killing him on impact. The. Final Jenny home two with L.. Tragic death cut a storied career short and much like Kurt Cobain, Heath Ledger or to park. It froze centers, accomplishments, and magnetic personality in amber. Deprived of the slow decline to any great talent at the top of their profession will eventually fall. Victim to these names are instead forever frozen their lawyers, and so they remained. Forever Young. Senator is now a legend. But where do legends begin with an origin story of course? So what senators version of being bitten by a radioactive spider, finding a weird lamp, genie or floating down the Nile in a basket made of Reeds? Well like Spiderman Aladdin or Moses Senna his monogamous, but before Senate was sent off, his last name wasn't even Senna at all. His parents worry that he was uncoordinated and even had him test report. He was born into wealth, but although wealth can definitely give you access to the world of bracing, it can't make fast and Santa wasn't just fast. He was the fastest. So what was the moment Senna truly became Senate to answer that we need to start on March twenty first nineteen sixty the day. When in Sao Paulo Brazil. Ericsson senator silver was born. Welcome to pass gas. That was a long intro. Great Man I'm. I got a little choked up there for a second. I mean this guy is so important and just such. Like I, don't know he's just a legend, and he's just like so important to so many people, and I'm really excited that we're going to die, have really deep into his life, but I mean just. A man just. I got a little teary eyed. When you're talking about the forever, young stuff is yeah I sure. Senna is a like I said an intro. He's a legend. Almost like a mythic figure at this point. Just such a hallowed name so revered in in in motor sports and the car world in general. Just like Oh yeah, you hear senators like he was I mean he was the greatest, but like it's just like an instant assumption of just like. Perfection basically right. Yeah, he's like Michael Jordan. Yeah, no thought given to, and we're going to see why that is because. There's a lot of good reason for that I. Think the moment where it hit where I was like Oh, damn was when? You when I I didn't realize he was thirty four when he died and I'm just about to turn thirty four, and so I'm like. I gotTA. Do. Joe You're the air and of automotive podcasting damage. Out Year Man. Is talking about how I am scared about dying. But what I've noticed is a lot of a lot of pieces that talk about center. Don't really dive into his early life. which is what we're going to do today? And I'm really excited about that. Hopefully will give people some insight into where this dude came from, and I, think yeah without further ado. Let's get into the life. The early life of one Ayrton Senna. Are you guys ready? I'm ready. Ready sale ever be. Ready, legit. You WanNa give. Fired up I think my new my new thing is. Fire Dub! Different words fired up. I could see that on a shirt for sure, but D. U. P. Oh, yeah, fire! Up I get a man. It's great. It's solid. C. memes are better when you explained. A Ayrton Senna Da. Silva was born in nineteen sixty in Sao. Paulo Brazil at the pro Ma tre. I'm going to by the butcher every Brazilian. Names Zillion were. Portuguese Brazilian. I'm going to butcher at all today. Just letting you know. Pro Monterey! Maternity Hospital of Santana a hospital I assumed was named after the legendary guitarist areas. Warn! Ayrton's father Milton Dasilva was a landowner and factory owner, and among other businesses Milton owned an auto parts company, and his knowledge and connections within the industry would become a key entry point for Airton into the world of racing

"Wow that was good. You can't here but off mic. I was was like. How should we start and then we did it and that was good? You pump up any audience. Give bump up the jam slash volume. mm-hmm yeah man remember stomp pretty cool that music tap dance thing because remember when tap dancing was cool man. I miss that era. It'd be like stop really was like. Hey we've renovated it totally not a tap. It's a stomp now it stop. Yeah and then this happens with everything. That's lame over the course of history history. We did it with cupcakes eventually. People who make cakes became bosses instead. It's true You remember when making cakes. Everyone who make cakes was a fucking loser but now got tattoos and they ride motorcycles and they commit crimes and the crabs are the case every one of them seems like so unappetizing the cakes. Yeah Oh yeah my big thing. is they always use like a ton of Marzipan and I'm like that is the least appetising thing you could fuck. I don't know if I've ever had eaten Marzipan sugar. Did you take sugar. It's fucking gross grossed and it's like that's ninety percent of the cake like I've never seen one of those shows where they're like. It's a peanut butter like seeing wish in that I'd go right. That sounds good it right. It's always like Kim. You make this Marzipan things like the death of Jesus Christ Ace. Yeah exactly well. Yes elaborate cake in the world. Can we finally made a cupcake. That has bacon an cumin. Now I like what I meant. Notice the the cake of the last rites of Christ he has a raspberry jam stigmata coming out of his hands. The Berry Jam Know Jesus Christ ear on Mount of Golgotha Gotha. He has a soiled diaper but of course then diaper soiled with type of fudge but actually that actually originated in this region that we're in right now he's he's been cheating type of fudge. Raspberry blood blooding very delicious served on bringing this up Hampton because aristotle and I got you a cupcake in the shape of the moment of Hitler's death and the cupcake is is the bullet wound and granted. He didn't shoot himself but in our interpretation he did uh this is going to be a little bit of a fantasy episode of suicide buddies where Hitler died from a gunshot wound and Kurt cobain died from I don't really know there's some Hitler died. There's some discrepancy with that with Hitler. Yeah with Hitler and the way he killed himself. I was reading this article and it was going to be the second the one I was going to rebut. This would be a perfect time actually to get into this. What do you think I was doing? This one one is about. It's from New Statesman. AMERICA DOT COM. I looked at over it. Does it seems to be a liberal adjacent site with the name. Like that New Statesman America I was like is this just like all right. Sure Bullshit But it seems to be some sort of European publication. And let's see it's a Russian. I'm just GonNa attribute the whole thing to see. This is part of why we've stopped doing the research is I've I've learned. I'm your bad on tear but my favorite thing is to actually just read someone's article who's done the research and then just comment sure so attributed the hell out of it. You can find this at New Statesman dot com. It was written by Luke daily elite groves and he wrote a book about it. Hitler's death the case against conspiracy. So here we start headline of the article. Oh seventy four years on Hitler. Suicide is still shrouded in politics and propaganda so this is kind of about how when Hitler died died. A lot of people didn't want people to know he killed himself for that. He was dead. Why because they were still politics kind of that play in the German in Germany in Russia especially UH basically Stalin was the one who is he was stolen scholar install and that's they call them? Well I believe it was a bombing by the Soviets. When he killed himself they were kind of in charge of the investigation? You know what I'm saying like recovering the body and all the shit and for years. They were like he's who knows where he is. He's fine never found the body. Yeah so well first of all. I think we're GONNA need a little bit of explanation of who Adolf Hitler don't think okay. Ah Nine hundred thirty nine. Six million Jews me to Adolf Hitler. Thank my boy up the river. There was a pissed off artist. Yada Yada Yada Germany Woods and he rose to power. Wow okay well. That's the story you know. It's funny as usual. Yeah we go over the person's life but I'm like you know what you've you look up. Hitler's life yeah. There's a lot maybe two lane. Every detail of Kirk veins life Article begins on thirtieth April nineteen forty five as the Red Army battled. The last remaining fanatical resistance of Nazi Germany in the streets of Berlin and the Second World War in Europe was drawing to a close it off Hitler retired to his private quarters in the fuhrer bunker one last time it's called the fear bunker. "And they're like no. It's cool dude. Everyone does everyone does it. So you shouldn't be ashamed and looking back. It's like very cool of them to be like that because they talked to me in a very sex positive way but it was like even bringing it up was so terrifying to me. Because I don't really I really remember a generation where like right before ours where it used to be like. You'd make fun of somebody like he shaved masturbate. Dude lucky jerk off the most normal thing ever totally. Yeah I remember being. We had some sort of like we're your day when I was in like fifth or sixth grade where something happened. Maybe there was like a storm or something and at the beginning of starting the beginning of the day everyone was just in the gym and we had to be be in the gym like the whole fucking school gym separated into homeroom groups for hours and this kid that I barely knew came out and said Hey. Hey Dave or are you a virgin. No and then he was like You're not a virgin virgin. And then he ran around making fun of me and saying saying Davidson Virgin and it was a nightmare. I didn't even know what a virgin was the now like knowing what it is. It's like wait. That's the opposite of what people make fun of you for an iceberg. The agenda but it was just we were so young that it was just a word and then I reacted that way and so it became new. ooh And so I'm getting made fun of but like yeah. That was the era where that was also say like Shit. Now I've got to lose my virginity real quick This summer single fifth grade. It's like super legal. Wait what's to have sex in fifth grade. Yeah that's illegal. Is it illegal. Yes for two fifth graders to have said yes it really. Yes wow very much so really yep what why do you say that like. I don't support it. I'm I you know it's it's like it seems like we're all in like Area of conversation that I'm frank quite frankly very uncomfortable with I certainly don't think I think having sex with a minor is at all okay or anything approaching. But but but people lose their virginity to each other when their kids all the time is what well of course and it is Alito and it is really yeah. I never thought about that. That's crazy well. It's like on surface level. It's like you literally can't film it. It's like a crime This is a weird. It's like a murderer or something. I mean the same logic. You can't film a murderer you know it's like it's a crime and it's both statutory rape basically because it's like you know imagine if someone was just even five days older than the other one right right then then. Don't you get to claim like well. He's older than her. Whatever like if you're just under whatever the legal ages it's illegal behavior now it's up to the law to decide decide how they punish that or what this is terrifying terrifying? How read up on consent laws? I know well I just always assumed like like people in their teens. Hook up all the time what they do. Yeah Yeah so and the idea of it being against the laws really insane to me. Yeah you drink before. You're you know twenty one and you like yeah but this but that's like a law like that's a there's no. There's an age of consent with adults but that age of consent I just I just had never interpreted terported it as for that exist for everyone like even if your here's the thing is almost no one in the fucking world would like yeah. Try to send both this kid jail. It's common sense or to Shit but like a parent could if like the other boy is a couple months older some shit you do have a case to be like. WHOA fucking statutory Rape Lake right there? Really that's crazy to think. Well okay I'M I. I am grateful for these laws. I know that there's been a real bummer for you but the law well I mean I realized the law. Crazy funny We're we talked about the lead into that very weird conversation that we just by the way. If I'm wrong please write any concerns to Google DOT com. I think the kids are allowed to. I mean it's I I don't even want to. I don't even like saying it. But like I lost my virginity when I was seventeen to seventeen year olds sure and I think that what what state don't worry about it okay. Vatican City people forever New York Dude and we did it fucking at the top of them fucking empire state building man. A second time I ever had sex. I think my girlfriend friend at the time had just hit her eighteenth birthday. And it's really fucked up stories actually Kinda long detail but basically we were in a car is the second time I've ever had sex. First Time was is already kind of fucking weird. This is my second go at it and We're fucking and then the cops come up will like we were in Mike an abandoned construction lot. We just were like. Oh no one's around here in the cops literally come over the hill and so I go into my girlfriend at the time we go like just just lay down. We're the only car for miles over like just lay down so we lay down like side by side just like pretend to be like the cops literally come get out of the car come up to the window like tap tap tap light flashlight in there. And like wow then I go like pretend like what whoa what's happening happening. Oh I'm sorry and like literally. It was like. They were like she's legal riot. I'm like yeah totally just day like we just don't have anywhere to go sort of thing and they were like okay like you're free to go but it It's weird. They were just like that's really weird. Really Yeah it's not that weird. I think they're pretty pretty conservative. The town so just like the idea of like New York like fucking outside is like crazy man. That's just so funny. I guess I just like yeah. This is very funny. It's very funny to think that like two consenting renting seventeen year olds that were dating. We've been dating for a year. That had we been caught which is an interesting idea. Anyway that the reaction the police could have been. You're both going to Juvie. They were so. Ra's lucky they really stress like you are lucky. She's is There were like get the fuck Outta here. You know sort of thing like if this had been hurley we would just ran. UN like get the fuck Outta here like yeah well. Yeah so they were. Actually the minor is awful. Yeah well if a week earlier like that's what they're saying like this literally had an important week that's when that's when a woman becomes a woman. Well I also I know what you turning eighteen will. That era is very weird. Yeah I mean I guess I was older than my girlfriend then so if that had happened around my eighteenth birthday would have been dealing with that kind of thing. That's that's really interesting in you. Know what the best of that whole situation was I literally had a whole conversation with the cops wildest naked right I was just talking to them with an erect Dick and just like Okay officer Oh this kid's coming up I do of I just literally buy my car like you're not gonNA. I believe this is just crazy but we have nowhere to go and we're both eighteen for the love of God. Don't arrest me. Yeah wow this is naked in front of two cops. Wow standing weird all right. Well I got some road dates. Let's fucking some road. Let's let's blow a road. Yeah man cashew roads. I I have some stuff coming up in in the southeast in March. I'm very very excited. I am going to be the first weekend in March the fifth sixth and seventh. I'll be in Lafayette Louisiana a New Orleans and Hattiesburg Mississippi and then at the end of the month. I'm doing a run through the southeast where I'll be in Tennessee and Georgia and Alabama and Florida Florida a little bit and South Carolina and North Carolina. A little bit. It's going to be fun. Yeah so all those all those Ticket links at Dave to the Ross Dot com and I will be in new dates Kansas City and Detroit April third and April fifth. I'm trying to line up some sorta date in either like Indianapolis or Chicago for that April fourth in between. So if you guys know any place in Indianapolis one hit me up. Hit me up but I'm trying to figure it out myself anyway away so no no fresh and then more. Recently I'll be doing a movie. Rift show with Jonah. "You know moved on riffing things in your immediate vicinity how this tape measure uh-huh Damn and it's about time someone stood up and said joke song you you dave. How many times do you think I measure my Dick Multiple Times a day really? Is that true multiple times. Honestly if fluctuates so much. How many times in truth in in your life have you measure dig with a tape measure? How many times Oh incalculable is it true incalculable? Really well because you always always have to find a new place aswering from no. I WANNA stop writing and I wanNA know the reliable now. I've learned that the real way that you mentioned your Dick is from from the taint. Okay Kate who taught you this. Ain't the nearest person who's hiding from behind your balls. Yeah from behind. Will you have to count now. All of the balls can't the ball. It's like the starting line so you're going at your team in the malls or the first runner even the inches going around. Not just the distance going around ball counts as extra Dick and then you measure erect penis pointing at the person. You're attracted the two so all of that distance to them. This is the type you can expect from. Y'All ever let suicide more shit like this. I've got a five inch. I did with all that do you for louder you. It's a huge no. I'm seriously asking. Do you actually measure your Dick a lot and I mean a lot. Yeah I don't know what healthy amount is don't either. You just say how much let you jump in. I'll just say my my mouth the reason I'm wondering is I haven't done that much. I've done it maybe three or four times in my life because when I look at my Dick I'm like well. It's clearly huge. Yeah I've done it twice. I've only done it twice three four times. Wow it's kind of weird. The measure twice cut one. Wow yeah the last. Last time I measured it was because I was I was cutting. I was giving some of it to you because I felt like I had too much. I've only measure twice. I have no oh idea I have no idea what I'm working with Nobel like I'm actually. I don't know as far as sexuality goes. I have learned amongst comedians. That I'm I am sort of weird one like when I start hanging out comics very very fucking right away. I was hearing stories. Like you know when you're eight years old and you fuck the couch and I was like what's yeah. I mean he measure your Dick like five six times you seven eight times measured your day eight ten. So we're in the decades somewhere in the decades. You've measured your Dick in the Dickers- you've dickers- and I'm just a normal normal. I'm a normal good boy. Measure twice cut once no. But why won't you answer me. How many times do you do it? Do you actually do it often often was that serious. No I'll okay. No that would have been fun. I do think it's more than four or five sure. That's why and I I was like I don't know man outputs normal. I don't think I don't know what normal is but I think I'm kind of weird like I didn't start jerking off until I was fifteen. I'm just late with all just started today. Dude it's not going to be able to toggle assume yours fifteen. I wasn't joking Shit yeah the first time I I came come can come the first time I came. Come out of my appeanas came came. Come fifteen yeah. That was the first time come came. Oh what a birthday. Yeah it was on my birthday. You put out the candles Louis. Only air came out. You know it was. It was powerful enough to blow the candles out and I got my wish which was to come which was weird. That's what gears people to becoming a stand up comic. Is We all think we're super weird. Oh Yeah and the truth is everyone's weird was sheriff's right. Sex is stupid. People put way too much value on it right and it's like it's funny how I have a bit about it but it's so true that it's it's like even when you think you're like repressed or like you're like what am I into is just getting married to like one one on the one as the one person she's with me even just like normal like who not normal but that's kind of my point is just like whatever your definition of a Hetero normative relationship it's a fetish right just just like we don't wear leather. We wear like wool. Sweaters are thing we take all our clothes off. I used to write a bit wear jeans every day total. I used to advocate that I was trying to make work and maybe I was too young and stand up to do it but I like it was just triggered me out one day the idea of shower because they shower lear like hey what do you do. What are you into and then some guys like? What am I into every morning I I pour water on myself? I pour water all over my body but we all do that so it doesn't feel weird but it's weird. It's weird because if I don't I smell bobby is incorrect. Yeah I don't feel right. People will be like hey. Did you pour water water all over yourself this morning. Yes it smells like. You didn't more water all of you should because you look like shit interesting. Yeah well yeah but I also do think like I've just had a lot of people react to me like saying my sexual history to them being like Whoa. It's all all late like it was all late and I guess I was later than where are you. Oh you were off for sure dude. I remember being in my there. Weren't that many people in the town. I lived within so are like soccer club. Teams were weird like the the age ranges for the the leagues in the area. We're like under nineteen under sixteen under fourteen and under twelve and when I was thirteen I was playing under nineteen team and so there are these kids. They were like seventeen that I was friends with like you know fancy themselves like uncle to me really acted like that. I don't like criticism and fancy fancy uncle. They were fancy uncles. No no no. They were cool. They were cool. They were like just the cups older older. Okay they're like older brother types but they always wanna do lake Be the ones that lake taught me about stuff and I remember two of them So we stopped and the coach. We were like in a van driving away from practice to any the coach. Stop to get food. And while he was inside they he turned around in the front and they were all right. Ross how much do you masturbate. And I was like four wounded. ooh Yeah.

"Actually occurred. Had met Courtney love when Nirvana was still struggling at a show at the Portland Oregon Nightclub Satyricon. They hit it off but did not begin a relationship. But we have Nirvana's US new drummer. Dave Grohl to thank for their eventually hooking up day was dating a woman who is friends with Courtney and she was reintroduced to Kurt through her. Love was by now the lead singer of her own band hole that was also achieving some success a whirlwind romance started which included letters phone calls. And you're ready for this faxes yeah exactly are rock and roll. History is also a history of technology apparently to star-crossed rock and roll lovers. Sending each other love faxes must've been pretty dramatic waiting for those pages to come through by February of Nineteen Ninety two. The couple was married and in August along came their daughter Francis being cobaine. Even the birth of the baby had its share of drama when Courtney told Vanity Fair interviewer that she had taken heroin heroin during her pregnancy. The couple was investigated by social services but eventually won a costly legal battle allowing them to keep their daughter. There are a lot of conspiracy theories theories floating around out there. About Courtney love being involved in Kurt's death but the evidence is to the contrary as volatile as their relationship was mostly fueled by their drug use news. They seem to really mean a lot to each other just happier than I've ever been. I finally met someone that I am totally compatible with doesn't matter whether she's a male female the Hermaphrodite or donkey we're compatible all that shooting about me curt she's just in money. Grabber Gold digger her bitch horse. Let let's get one thing straight. I adore him. I worship him. I went through nine hole king months because I wanted some of this beautiful genes in there in our child. It's like Evian water and battery acid in the mix the two together you get love. Imagine Jenness you're peaking your youth at the prime of your life. The last thing you want to be as a symbol of heroin use. He finally met up with somebody of the opposite opposite gender. Who you can write with? That's never happened before in your life. The only under person you could ever right with wasn't as good writers. You and this person is a better writer can you and your in love. You have a best friend you have a soul mate and you can't believe it's happening in your lifetime and he wants to have babies and what you want is babies. You wanted to have babies forever. And he understands everything you say. And he completes your sentences and he's lazy easy but he's spiritual and he's not embarrassed about praying. He's not embarrassed about chanting. He's not embarrassed about God. Jesus none of it. He wants to be enlightened. Didn't everything and there's even room for you to fix them. which you like has your fixer? Upper he's perfect almost every single way. The only happiness did I ever had. So you. Listen to the passion and the love and the feeling in these sentences. And then you hear how Courtney love ended that heartfelt testimonial the only happiness Venus that I ever had and it all gets taken away it is difficult to pinpoint one starting off point to Kurt cobain's downward spiral but but there was a night in one thousand nine hundred ninety three where things went off the rails at the home of Curtin Coordi-. I don't want them in the house. Just shut up leave me alone. We have a daughter in this house. Seattle police still you touch me answering the door. Good evening. Ma'am shifting all right. We're good officer. Just a little disagreement over what she will. Let me keep guns in the house. He may be a danger to himself. Officer step aside Ma'am And the police took the guns from the House that night. Kurt would become increasingly agitated without them but the downturn in his life was just beginning by now. Nirvana's Bona's new album in utero is released. And even as he continues to use drugs in struggle with his own inner torment and chronic stomach condition. To what was up with that apparently no doctor was ever able to diagnose what cobain described as his ongoing battles with stomach pain he supposedly continued as use of heroin in part to deal with the pain of of it even mentions it in his suicide note. But so far no conclusive evidence has ever come to light about. What the condition was courtney love long after her husband had passed past hypothesized that it might have been Crohn's disease but she also sort of darkly joked in the same interview? That Kurt may have been stricken with cobain's disease may maybe a reference to the cumulative issues that plagued her late husband in any case here they are. Kurt is on tour for in Utero and has even taken the time to perform acoustically in what became a legendary segment of. MTV's unplugged series.

"Out of time and wait for it. The exam here. The theme theme song from the Monkees TV show. You know what. That's pretty cool because if you think of his music it has a lot of ballad qualities to along with the hard rock point Anyway by Nineteen eighty-two Kurtz what's in his late teens and he ditches. His father's house bounces around between various relatives and then discovers offers. Oh Yeah punk rock. Kurt started hanging around with a kind of cult that formed around a local punk hunk. Band called the Melvin by now is crashing on couches not living with his family at all and getting into partying and drugs but in the process forming his his first band so there you go now. His first band was not a hit. I don't see how it could have been given what he called it fecal matter. Yup fecal matter takes courage though really how so. Well you gotta figure with a name like that you're setting up music critics to write about how your music totally fits your name. Something tells me he didn't care hair. FECAL matter seems to fit right in with the angry young man who was I making music in Seattle scene. True so maybe by the time he comes up with Nirvana he starts to understand Dan that it has a little more commercial potential plus from what we know the turmoil going on inside him. Nirvana is a pretty ironic band name sad but true so here we are a couple of years later and Kurt finds his groove. He renamed the band. Did we say it's now called Nevada and get some new personnel though not quite yet did that personnel include drummer. Dave grohl frontman for the band. We now know as fighters not quite day would come along during a shakeup in the middle of the tour for Nirvana's I album bleach and we should probably set the historical record straight here. What exactly qualifies as grunge music? Yes grunge the style of music that it became known around the world thanks to WANNA although it wasn't exclusive to them. It was actually brought to a wider audience by a record label called sub pop to sign a lot out of the grunge bands in the Seattle music scene like Pearl Jam Alison Chains and Stone Temple pilots. By the way. Do you know about sub pop's famous rejection letter format. Don't they're pretty famous in the music scene for it when they turned down in artists Demo and tell them they will not be signed to the sub pop label. The rejection letter begins with the phrase dear loser. Oh well that's just perfect there. Is that ironic. Sense of humor in grams again. No wonder Kurt cobain called weird Al Yankovic genius but let's get back to grunge okay so heard about how influential punk rock was on. Kurt cobain grunge is a kind of bridge between punk rock and heavy metal. It Incorporated corporated the distorted guitar sound punk and metal but also branched out into some slower. Tempos the use of harmony and the vocals and more complex instrumentation Shen. That was more common in metal than Punk lyrically. Though it was pure punk illumination apathy feeling hemmed in wanting freedom from the normal society. All all of these things clearly haunted Kurt cobain and they totally connected to the young fans of the emerging grunge John or at the time. Did they ever young fans were asked for comment the day after Kurt cobain. Oh being committed suicide. Sometimes I'll get depressed and get mad at my mom or my friends and I'll go listen to Kurt and it puts me in a better mood. I've thought about killing myself a while ago too but then I thought about all the people that would be depressed about it. This is the first band. Wherever had somebody die on me? He's a spokesperson for our generation represented. What we all feel in our lives? I think he'll still be in people's memories and thoughts. I think it'll be eternal Nirvana. I WanNa you WANNA say that we'll return to our story in just a moment now back to the life of Kurt Cobaine..

"The the defining band was navonna fronted by kurt cobain and we all know that heron played on a large part in his late to life and days so it was going on it was part of desite guys and a gen x angst which actually eddie question though was in a way to the emmett we get to here now this is going on in england what's going on in america at the time i mean what's the comparable photo and fashion scene i don't know i mean i i all i can say is that that generation of english photographers came quickly and to america i worked for harper's bazaar an american vogler so i think there's a lot of other haunt hopping going on here back and forth absolutely and mary i was at american photographer who went to england and became a part of that scene and so there's always been that crowd that shoulder to shoulder between our two countries is here here you mentioned where we talked about 1990 and green day and kate moss while 1999 there is a quote with just a good can who comes in a around that air and say okay well now we're back to the age of beauty and this whole so it almost book ends happen his record circular victory right i mean brilliantly society john so by the end of the nineties thanks to her when she thinks the time changing thanks the people getting older.

"Put out on kurt cobain what are you know about this series this character yeah i learned about that character in the same learned about tom grant from an idea i find it significant is not something to be he completely ignore but i i felt like nick broomfield did a good job covering it and my film was never meant to replace next film yes so in the film there's a lg j at fed remember correctly he was claiming that he was offered courtney fifty grand to lack kurt cobain is he put it so i lotta people were bringing that up during postproduction when they knew such and breaches being made and to be honest i did strongly consider it even though it didn't fit the tone of the movie and at has decided to stick to lesotho bleaches which is a docudrama you know the the drama part being the recreations to show to illustrate the context of tom grants investigation which is tied tightly to his actual audio recordings that people they're saying well you can make anything up with that that's just oh who's gotta ruin if that's what you're saying about it because obviously you're you're helping the narrative along aches and by having an acclaimed actor fits were training tom you you know that what you're getting is something that's gonna be real real to life and i thought that was fascinating that you have him doing the walk through so we can get the visual representation of what's going on thanks interspersed with the actual audio because our investigator tom grant recorded all of this and the conversation you've got them inner woven so that they can see this in it's not the you know lifts change the words you you're just giving the narrative of this and that made the documentary so much more fascinating to me than just more talking heads and photographs that don't mercy that that is a great aspect of its who whoever whoever goofy enough to complain about that aspect is nuts appreciate that we take a sh to take a look for yourself soaked in bleach the movie dot com cockbain case dot com that's where you can keep up with tom and all of the research he's doing we've got to take a break we'll come back we've got more coming your way i'm dave schroeder and this is coast to coast am.
