I mean, he's battling through this, but you know, those lingering ankle sprains can last a long, long time and you just tweak it and you twist it a little bit and then you get in pain and then you go back there and subsides a little bit, you get back out there and fight through it. Give them a lot of credit for battling through those injuries. Well, they haven't updated the shots on goal total folks who are right now I've got 19 for the kings to 16 for the hawks after two periods of play. But in that last sequence, the hawks were very lucky they weren't scored upon. They had trouble calling his own. I mean, kings have hit a couple posts in this game with some clear looks. Marx just, you know, they were gassed. I mean, they had nothing in the tank and two guys got off the ice, Dickinson and lafferty got on, but it was a bad line change and that allowed the kings to attack again. Judge hit his fourth home run in 5 games on Sunday in a win against the resurgent Orioles. Another Aaron judge. And once again, Aaron judge right on time. He's going to need a lot more ice because he continues to put the boys on his back. Oh, good one there. Tell us a little bit more about judges domination, carrying the team on his back this season. Yes, Sarah, that dinger extended judges lead in MLB's home run race to 7 over Kyle schwarber. And this is an all time Yankee season. And you know that is a big time statement when you're talking about the 27 time champion Brock's bombers. During Sunday 6 O win over the Orioles, judge became the fourth Yankee to hit 37 or more home runs before August 1st, joining guy an illustrious group of Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, and Roger Maris. And now Maris holds the Yankee home run record with 61, which some also considered the true MLB home run record. And right now, judge's own pace to just barely break that record, which is insane if you've kept up with baseball history. Yankees manager Aaron Boone acknowledged just how great judge has been so far this season after the game on Sunday. You know, before a second and bad when he's standing on the steps there with me. Now to the NFL where the Houston Texans shared some somber news on Sunday, rookie wide receiver John ceci the third has been diagnosed with a form of leukemia and likely will not play this upcoming season. Sarah, can you break this down for us? That's right. Mechi was Alabama's leading receiver last season and he was drafted in the second round by the Houston Texans, despite tearing his ACL last December. He was expected to be fully cleared to play this fall. In a statement posted by the Texans on social media Sunday, mechi shared that he is facing acute, promyelocytic leukemia or APL, but he said he's in good spirits. He is receiving great medical care and he expects to make a recovery, adding that APL is, in his words, quote, the most curable form of leukemia. He added a thank you for everyone's well wishes and said, quote, I can not wait to come back stronger than ever. College coach Nick Saban also released a statement on Sunday, saying quote, John has overcome every challenge placed in front of him in his life with toughness and determination. Well, there was another blockbuster deal in the NHL this weekend Tate as the Calgary flames traded all star winger Matthew chuck to the Florida Panthers for forward Jonathan Hubert, and two other players, plus a future first round pick, the teams announced on Friday, so Tate break this all down for us. Yes, Sarah, this is the definition of a blockbuster and that is the right word when we talk about this trade because when you look at what happened here, kudos to both teams because this is a big swing. And these are two teams that have both had great regular seasons recently, but have failed to advance very far in the playoffs. And the hope seems to be that this trade, which is basically one young all star left winger for a slightly older all star left winger will be a win win scenario. Last season kuchuk who was still just 24 years old set career highs with 42 goals, 62 assists and a 104 points. Meanwhile, Hoover Doe, who is 29, not that old, said a Panthers franchise record with 85 assists and a 115 points. I think people underrate how much of a headache it is for an organization to have really good players that are UFAs to be. Even if you're a good team, that's easy. The goal is to win the cup that season. Yeah. It's impossible to get away from that story, right? And even if they're a year out. Like complicates things. Well, look at what Matthew chuck was able to do, Matthew chuck was able to exercise what Jalen Rose calls pre agency. In the NBA context. A year out, he basically was able to force his hand kind of pick his spot. We all sort of, we all sort of knew that he wanted to go to one of those low tax states with a playoff team, right? And he was able to kind of drive the bus there. You know, that's a really stark example that I think a lot of and not just Canadian teams. A lot of teams need to sort of understand here because all of a sudden it's not like you're living in a world. In the wake of kuchuk, it's not like teams are living in a world where, you know, to take another example from a player that I cover in Elias pedersen, right? Elliot Peterson has two years left on his deal. This is not a situation that you have to sort out in 24 months. It's one that could shape next off season. If the example is any indication, which I think it has to be. Okay. Let's get back to the bit here. I want to talk about him as a player. Imagine he's a unicorn. I've seen that term thrown around. It should be, right? He's a unique player.

"Potentially the Panthers had didn't even have interest in extending it. That wasn't something they seriously wanted to consider. And I kind of didn't really kick the tires on at a ton. Even though it came to me through my sort of Florida whisper network, the palm tree network that I still have from my time working for that organization. I just sort of was like, okay, I mean, that makes sense is something they view as high risk and sort of put it in my back pocket. I didn't assume that they'd act on it. This off season, considering what this team is poised to do. Again, next year, I mean, there were a 122 point team. They were historically good. Hubert O was the third leading scorer in the NHL. I figured that's not a situation that you need to sort of move on actively. Now, the Uyghur thing too, I'd sort of, I'm not the only guy who heard this. Uyghur's name was out there. Over the course of draft week in particular. I think there was a sense that he might be available. I think that there's there was a sense that it was time to move on. Internally with the Panthers and their top pair left side defensemen who happens to be right handed an incredibly unique profile. You can't understand this deal, I think, without understanding that from Florida's perspective. Neither of those contracts, like the next contracts that those guys sign are not contracts that Florida wanted. Yeah. Right? Certainly. You can not understand the deal without understanding that from the panther's perspective, they valued these guys as one season guys. And the opportunity to pounce on a unique, power forward player type, and lock that guy up from ages 25 to 33, right? I mean, is there a single year of Matthew chuck's next deal? That you're even nervous about? From a declining, you know, from an inefficiency perspective? No. Not really. No. Not really. Yeah. You're mining his entire he's not going to get slower. It's impossible. And with a guy like chuck, I know chuck's a physical guy with great hands, but it's like, what makes kuchuk special? It's that he's one of the smartest guys on the ice. Certainly. He's smart and dumb. And he picks a spas too, yeah. He doesn't just pick his spots. He hammers them. He nails the piece. He's a genius. I mean, I just think there's no, there's no inefficient season on that, whereas with Hubert O extension, Hubert is going to be 30, right? The first year of his next deal. What year aren't you concerned about? The inefficiency of it, right? I mean, it's just a completely different world. So Florida basically, I think, is really benefiting. From the cost certainty of a unicorn type player, there's really no other Matthew chuck in the NHL. Yeah. And they valued that uniqueness. They valued that cost certainty. They valued the window of it.

"Have won it again. This was an incredibly successful team for the entire 1980s, and then they had ownership issues. They had all kinds of problems. The oilers missed the playoffs for ten consecutive years. They were a punchline. They were the worst team in the league by far. Officially, even though it was over a long time ago. Chicago comes into Edmonton and spanks the owners. The oilers when they got Connor McDavid in 2015, that was supposed to be a turning point. It was a turning point of turning points that was the fourth time they'd had the first overall pick, and three times previously it hadn't been enough to turn the page on the franchise's failures. McDavid was going to be the difference. And 7 years into his career, he hadn't been, because no matter how well he played personally, he could not overcome the weaknesses of the team around him. No, it's frustrating. We want to play in the playoffs as a team. I personally want to plan to playoffs. I'm not happy about it. They've been eliminated in the first round. They've missed the playoffs at times. They've been a wreck of a franchise, and frankly, it's been a little bit embarrassing to have the best player in the world and be unable to win a game in the playoffs. This is the first real sustained playoff success. The oilers have had. It's something that for the city. I mean, if you've got a decade supporting just a miserable NHL team and they supported it in incredible ways, that building sold out again and again and again when the team was nowhere near competitive. So you look at those long suffering fans, the fact that now they're enjoying this incredible performance by McDavid by the supporting cast and getting to see some team success. Enthusiastic fans after the oilers beat the flames 5 to four, pushing them into round three of the Stanley Cup playoffs. It's an incredible moment. It's the first time in almost 20 years that there's been something to really celebrate in Edmonton. The fans watching the game from the ice district Plaza in downtown Edmonton Thursday were equally jubilant. Some even taking their shirts off in the excitement. And Jonathan, can you just talk a little bit about the battle of Alberta and how that may be added a little bit of extra drama in theater to that series? Well, that's the other thing. It's been 30 years since we've had a battle of Alberta series. And in the 1980s, Calgary was one of the best teams in the league and the road through the playoffs, always ran through Alberta. It was Edmonton and Calgary, Edmonton and Calgary Edmonton and Calgary. You know, it was like those famous Colorado Detroit series, but taken up a notch because of the physical proximity. Those teams hated each other, and even a regular season game between Calgary and Edmonton can be incredibly meaningful. It's a destination on the 82 game NHL schedule. So being able to watch a very good Calgary team with major stars, incredible depth, the well coached, go head to head with the oilers in the second round of the playoffs. It was going to be a treat no matter what, and obviously for Euler's fans, the way it ended was perfection. Well, we're just over two rounds into these NHL playoffs now, but Conor McDavid has already been doing some historic stuff. Jonathan, can you explain what he is doing? Numbers wise and put some of that into historical perspective for us. If you look at what Connor McDavid and Leon draisaitl have done and you compare it to past playoffs, coming into game one against Colorado, each of them had 26 points. If you look at the scoring leaders in previous playoffs last year, only one player had more than that through four routes. That was Nikita kucherov on the Tampa Bay lightning. If you go back three years, nobody in the entire playoffs had that many points. These guys are scoring a double the traditional playoff rate. And I mean, Leon draisaitl's McDavid's equal in points. He hasn't been as equal in play. He's playing through injury. He's playing on McDavid's wing. As much as he is definitely contributed, he's been partially a recipient of McDavid's genius. And what McDavid is doing is something we really haven't seen since the days of Wayne Gretzky. Maybe Mario Lemieux in the 90s is the other guy who's close. And you know, numbers aside to me, it seems like the way that people are talking about Connor McDavid's performance in these playoffs is different. It's something I've never heard before. Like, for example, we saw two players from the Calgary flames, Matthew kuchuk and Rasmus Anderson basically say that Conor McDavid is being them all by himself. Yeah, we've let one guy beat us a few nights now, so just back to the drawing board and figure out a way to stop him. You know, we gotta stop him as a unit. One individual can't stop him. So we just gotta stop them together. And all time hockey greats like Paul Coffey and Mike Madonna have come out of the woodwork to talk about how incredible Connor McDavid is. Jonathan, are there any comments that have jumped out at you and really sort of stuck with you? The one that really stood out to me was a piece written by Pierre lebrun for the athletic. You know, he talked to Wayne Gretzky and Wayne Gretzky said, you know, I don't know if words can describe it. Well, if anyone was going to describe how Connor McDavid is playing, it would be Wayne Gretzky, who's the last guy who played like this in the postseason. And even for him, this is something he hasn't seen in so long that it's hard to not sell it. It also seems like people just sort of struggle to come up with words to describe what he's doing. So I guess what words do you have for us, Jonathan? You know, how do you attempt to explain how he's taken his game to another level? What is he actually doing on the ice to kind of reach these new heights? He has amazed me so many times over the course of his career with his speed, his capacity to process the top speed. Nobody else in the NHL can move and think and react as quickly as he can. It's like he's come down from another league. He's an NHL player who's been demoted to the American League to play in the American League playoffs, except that he's doing it in the best league in the world. The turning point for me were the games against LA game 6 and game 7. He was playing 28 minutes in game 7 against LA. Those are defensemen minutes. He was playing every other shift at top speed. Nobody does that. And every time he got the puck, nobody could do anything to him. Here's McDavid now the indirect off the boards comes back to the oilers captain, wraps it around. It's gone. Connor McDavid. You play him physically. He bounces off checks. You give him space, he burns you, you play him tight, he burns you. He finds McDavid in the middle. McDavid twisting and turning. Connor McDavid, look at those moves of passive front. Yeah, there's just nobody who can do the things he's doing right now, and that very much includes regular season Connor McDavid. He's found a level somehow that's above and beyond what he's already done, and this is a guy who's led the NHL in scoring four times. This is the fastest player in the league finding another gear. A physical player finding another level of physicality. He is incredible. This is the relentless effort of Conan McGahn. And you think he likes that. This place has erupted..

Ukraine's largest pediatric facility has already evacuated patients with non life threatening conditions, but there are several children who can not be removed from life support. Their numbers are growing, as fighting around the Ukrainian capital intensifies. There has been shelling near the hospital at night, according to surgeon Vitale demidov. Corpses and abandoned cars surround the hospital buildings. The saddest thing is that when the siren sounds, we have to go down with the children and parents to the basement. The Madoff tells time. We run 5 or 6 times a day in the basement and back. He said that children on oxygen support needed to keep breathing while being moved and this meant staff had to run alongside the gurneys operating manual ventilators. An image of demidov with a rifle slung around his torso as he cradles a baby on life support has gone viral since he posted it to Instagram on February 26th. Underneath, he wrote, it was very hot tonight. There are very sick children in the hospital, oxygen dependent. Volunteers have been bringing food, supplies, and medicine. So far, everyone is provided for demidov posted, but I don't know for how long. Among the wounded is a boy whose ten year old sister and parents were reportedly killed by Russian saboteurs. Another patient is a boy who suffered shrapnel wounds to his neck during the shelling of Kyiv. Due to the severity of the injury, in order for us to stop the bleeding, the boy had to undergo surgery right in the admission department of the trauma center of the hospital, says pediatric surgeon Oleg godic. The boy is currently in critical condition and on a ventilator. Photos shared with time by demidov and other hospital staff show several other children with appalling wounds, and one a young boy's right cheek has been ripped open, and another, a teenage girl lies on a gurney with leg injuries, her pants shredded and bloodied. One appears to show a young lifeless body lying under a makeshift covering of cardboard. Several children, including babies, are seen lying in the hospital's basement. While attempting to save children injured in war, staff are also treating those with preexisting conditions. Amid the shelling, complex surgery was performed on a 15 year old girl, who arrived four months ago from the valen region in Ukraine's northwest, with a diagnosis of lymphoblastic leukemia. Vadim kuchuk, the head of the intensive care unit of the center for pediatric cardiology and cardiac surgery says that for now the intensive care unit has been moved to the basement, among them are at newborn preoperative patients and children after cardiac surgery. Many of whom are in serious condition. Some are on ventilators or undergoing dialysis. There are also patients who are with their parents in the basement, he says, currently we only perform emergency surgeries on patients who would die without cardiac surgery. We have to postpone planned operations until the end of this war.
