Every team in the Pac 12 will play. All right, Let's have some fun. Take a guess. How many games 6777 was Sam the embryos with eight I'm sorry about the other Isn't the big 10 going with eight in there right away behind, But I think big tennis he sees a big 12 is eight with the nonconference games somewhere around there. A CC is the same. Title game December 18th. So those are the particulars was at six at six plus the crossover games, right? Ah, that's all I have is just what I okay. I think it's details that sales. Bucks beaten badly in 122-110 loss to Magic in NBA playoffs
"For concern should there be with these bucks? Yeah, look, I think I think there's a level of concern more so because they're in a neutral setting. Then I would have if they had somehow dropped their first game at home because you know, you could say things happen. I mean, last year, Orlando won the first game in Toronto. Toronto goes on to win the championship, so When you're at home, you're going to make up for a lot of those things. A cz you extend the Siri's You get caught, You know, with a team coming in playing real loose, but in a neutral, setting him a little bit more concerned because They just didn't have any electricity today. And that's something that if you're my boot holes a little bit worried about because they got outplayed thoroughly on both ends. It was a combination of not just Abu ceviche at all. He did whatever he wanted to do. They got way too many easy, easy buckets, dunks, layoffs off very simple basic cuts in a half court offense with no rim protection, and I thought they're shot selection was awful. I thought that As they were trying to dig their way out of that hole in the fourth quarter. I just felt like there was a whole lot of quick early three's by guys that that's not their strength. So any way you slice it, give the magical the credit world they outplayed them from start to finish. And now the Bucks have to find a way to replicate that adrenaline. They play within their home building without playing there, And that's what they're facing. Tim our game tonight. Rockets and Thunder Game one that best of seven series. But for Houston, they're going to be without

getting paid and my wife is doing the same so that's pretty much we're looking for him for a little bit lucky the man no doubt about that which everyone could be is is lucky died out as as as we are many we we get to be weak operated toy department of life as it is but we even operate in the virtual toy department of life the virtual I. five series nice idea how did you come up with that would you come up with it and the execution of it I mean we've been having fun with it talking about it just you know re discovering some of the the great talent that's come out of this great state especially in in northern California it's just it's a cool cool thing just kind of sit back and kick around in these times yeah well it came up with that around nineteen seventy seven Holden at home okay we got it we actually played I play this exact thing in there for the chronicle of chronicle in nineteen eighty seven just play the game at home by myself and wrote it up September of eighty seven and nobody remembers that but in the seventies I work in the chronicle desk I have a lot of time on my hands I was in the PBA player and I thought you know I'm kind of tired of playing last year's giants in the US last year's Dodgers and everything and they were coming up with all these all time great players cars I thought she's how cool would it be to play think of all the great players from northern California and southern California yeah and the the whole country I've I've got teams heard the exact same thing for Texas Pennsylvania Michigan the whole country New England Deep South that I came up with all these players and I researched them based on where they grew up and learn the game and went to high school that sort of thing not necessarily where they were born if you start with were there more wit you gotta make sure we know where they grew up otherwise you know Joe Morgan is still in play for the East Bay and that would be doubly wrong you know I mean so that that they took and it took a hell of a lot of research especially back then we didn't have the saber and internet and you know I'm writing letters to sports editors in Kansas you know I'm seriously here this guy really grew up there and the stuff like that and I crafted the teams that way and then I just found that it did you play in tournaments you know with all these teams are across the country was is the way I went about it yeah I do some volunteer to nor cal southern cal for the chronicles benefit and you know the team's only grow in stature over the years saying that you're a call coming in here and and Christian Yelich and hitches it gets better every year but it was just going to be I just should have a fireplace John Shea you know I'm from south the south like you Tom all politics are cal you take there the cab will play the game over the phone yeah well right up and the chronicle I are upset with me we can expand this a little bit we got the LA times of all next you know people are voting a hundred thousand votes are coming in to pick the rosters we're gonna play online version and have you know podcast wrapping up all the games day by day this is nuts were when we had Kapler and Kapler Dave Roberts were taken in the opening starting starting lineup they're not going to be managing the teams that's gonna be me in an LA times guy but it was so cool to have those guys you know we did a podcast we can see him sitting there in the ticket like way seriously so it's it's it's also you know it's funny it's not restricted to the chronicle human just like you know you know my dad grew up in North Beach and I spent a lot of my childhood hearing story Joe DiMaggio Tony was there and all the all the great all how alien yeah I mean these guys so you know it's a lot of Salesian boys club people out of North Beach grand kids and it it's it's awesome but look at that nationally out fifty are that that Nortel I should say outfield with bonds in Ricky and Jodie Jody I mean that's hard to be right there here are you know I hated to bring the deviation of this thing is I really don't like the DH at all are barely acknowledge it in in my regular life when I'm not an American League baseball game but the this we even word of what do you do a Frank Robinson is the beauty of the heaven the DH in general you just bring it in here for more star power there's so many big names and more you get in there the better but here you can get Frank Robinson in right field and imagine once entered into this figure out who plays left new DH is I think it will cappers going with Ricky and left in bonds the DH but I'm almost ninety three in last night yeah that's the thing we were everybody's represented their best year so rich Ricky in nineteen ninety when he was the most complete player within the power in the league in steals and we got a bunch of the seventy three homers you you kind of have to but so he's a little bit older than he was with the pirates I still might have them out there in left with this stuff like this it makes it super fun here's what I would like to see a may you mention this it is sound super super cool and the idea is awesome I wonder have you ever tried to do a historically a all right handed team verses and all left handed team I I never did that but one thing about me is that it did doesn't know if you're right handed or left handed you've got a card that represents the players season forms you know pretty true in the overall but that doesn't have the splits and but yeah you know I I'd be really interested in the all left the team member that bit characters is something about lefties in baseball is in there the you can't throw a ball straight they've got a pretty your swing in the best hands nuts as an idea you know it's funny because I used to play did you used to play all star baseball with the spinner yeah I did yes I was yeah that wasn't true but it had like a day it was corresponding numbers and like the other one was a home run in some real small and then seven and thirteen were single some of them were small some more like rod crews were massive like you almost could not anything but a good row and I used to play for hours hours I keep my own I keep my own stats insurance score for the games and then the Adam up at the at the end of the year but these games are like so so cool and if you said they're realistic and that's kind of the cool thing I'm curious how you have never played APBA baseball I've heard I've seen stratum matic how does this one work like it does it does how long does it take to like if you were to get it how long would it take to play do you got to play with I guess you don't have played to people you think you can roll their eyes but what decisions do you have to make big throughout the course of a game well you've got to to Dyson when you're all on me if you feel as though I like you know if I wanted to isn't seven it's fifty two you know the one dice represents the yeah the the double figure so you have a so the results go from eleven to sixty six those who were those of the dice roll results you can get the the snake eyes are double sixes and everything in between once you get that number you look on the player's card there and you do get another number then you go to the there's a set of boards there's a big board for guy and first person second person third bases loaded bases empty and you find what he did and it said the defense comes into play better defensive guy I'll have a better chance in this particular fits with the ball hit to him etcetera and then you just take it like any other game you know you know what I'm gonna pension Ernie banks here are you know usually I'm I'm gonna I'm gonna send Ricky here yeah you can hit and run you can it measures like you normally would I gotta make a pitching change here and and you know people do crazy things that I always try to play it as if I was ever you know as always I was covering baseball I try to make it like what they would do in on I may have a farce which is pretty easy thinking go sideways pretty easily yeah yeah yeah he is a great way nice to play in the fourth grade with my with my buddies I read that I read that it was just a terrific game yeah well this thing if you see R. thirty four man roster is you know that's that's sixty eight guys who never been dents in their life you know use it like a little league game where you're in reading and only percent of people out we're not going to do that we're not gonna do that we're going to try to get to like a great example being Steven vote John Shays working on a great it's going to be a great PC talk to Stephen bought how stoked fears to be part of this thing me somehow he the the northern caliphate to deepen the catcher after thirty one body the greater liberty from the thirties you're talking like Guthrie on Dawson Charlie some parents even votes smoke in there as best here two thousand fifteen days and you know I I want to get him in there I I and he's got a point at some point you know and and that sort of thing is going to be fun too you know I I have to say Bruce that hello to mention any names we were talking to somebody yesterday and there was the the kind of drop some impropriety in there that maybe there was some gerrymandering in terms of how Fresno became part of northern California and how you're able to get some players from there I mean I'm I'm not seeing any saver it was it isn't some tomfoolery if not him out right this is I'm just telling you what I saw them say it is the thing it is a dicey geographical statement but it call but but Fresno is closer to San Francisco then then it is from LA of course any also the southern California they get they get a second hot bed in San Diego yes I mean you know we put some with another kills almost all bay area really is with a little bit about lying not too many you know I can too many humbled crabbers in there you know I'm I mean that's it you know it was sold it was sold and it's I'm assuming so take it with him I did that he's got this is this is it it was my call and what you know what works for us though and you know I I I think it's you can argue it geographically plus I thought you know I think we need Tom Seaver more than this out they got.

think we can get him or not if we don't let's get this going good radio try to get somebody but I think it's you know I alien there's got to save a little money it's not that way anymore you can say that all you want well they don't they don't know their way know what exactly the way it is it's billionaire saying they want to save their money Krug but the games different you can cry you want about not spending money they don't spend money I'm not a red Sox fan I'm always been billionaires they say when the bell money and their money go in the morning and here's the other thing too that's the founders I'm dealing with facts now until we deal with money and they could spend if they want to I'm just telling you they're not going to that's not the way the game is played anymore that a neighbor but you can cry you want I don't care I know you don't care but if that's what it is it's the way I don't want to say that one out of the way it works anymore that's not the way it works you know that as well as I know that it just does not work that way anymore so you get a you know red Sox fans can cry Dodger fans can cry when they does I'm looking next year which sucks because I mean they actually could I mean they probably could him under the tag that luxury tax because they've I hate the fact the Dodgers are doing the angular doing they're going to spend the money but they've been smart about it which is like one of these guys doing stop doing that but you know what he goes to tell you if you actually develop guys and bring him up again sign guys keep guys that don't make a lot of money then you can one do all this stuff you want to you know why because Ballenger is a study that make a whole lot Seger stud doesn't make a time Smith stud makes dirt luck stud makes third may stud makes third Buell or dirt I mean they got all these dudes are like bacon dirt and there kill it that's where you get to be like little the Yankee do their young guys that's we get to be a good organizer here's the irony of it all maybe Silanus Moore said definition irony but I'm calling it that her definition with anyone right so have you probably are right just a bunch of unfortunate coincidence that not not guarantee but anyway lemony Snicket's in the NFL is a salary cap and what has been I don't know if it's been figured out but what's been figured out of the NFL is that if you can get a quarterback that's good on a rookie contract your cooking with gas because quarterback is the most important most expensive piece of your team so if you get him on a record contract for three or four years and able to have success with him like cowboys available dak Prescott with the chiefs are having now with Patrick homes is great because you can then spend money in other places if you can get young good players that are cheap and controllable for what is it for years your first come five I don't know and what it what it is but I but I know your three for five years you get a control that's great because then you can spend money in other places there is no salary cap in baseball but there is a salary cap in baseball the luxury tax you don't want to go over you want to mess with it that's a fact capsule with the Yankees with the Dodgers unfortunately have figured out is that we just can't throw money at the problem because we don't want to pay the tax for whatever reason so you get good young cheap controllable players have those guys be the base your team then you throw money in other places they're basically doing what good smart and a full teams are doing you know you see them do it send the money all along message your money their money ball with money yeah it sends a message to the fans because the red Sox fan if your red Sox fan what do they do all they did was packed that house and watch their team and now they're tearing the thing down well they go go go they won't go eventually really you think so yeah I do I do actually think they won't go your high you will that can I go watch the red so this year they are but if they keep doing this than I could do it why would you keep getting rid this whole game plan of trading your best player it's okay if you have nothing but when you have everything your sold out you get massive ratings on a network that you own it your men team money I love the here I mean you're you're telling red Sox fans yeah you packed the house yeah you you true three and a half million or more yeah your watch the team at a at a record level yeah we have billion more billionaires largely because of the massive amounts of revenue we have coming in but guess what were yanking your sheets for trader guy and you're just gonna have to live with it you can say it's smart online saying it was a bad deal I like the guys they got back but if you're a red Sox fan that's the wrong message manage spit in their face and I was you know you want to come back well he's a he's a free agent I mean he they they can afford to pay him is much as anybody else I mean I don't know maybe how do you know we didn't I don't I don't know I mean here want to take that gamble that he doesn't want to come and get nothing form well you don't have nothing right you have a first round draft pick the giants I mean tell far on that he just let go of Bumgarner go did he get nothing now he got he got the equivalent of some sandwich bag that they value highly I guess I'm just saying I'm not saying that it wasn't a smart key on the red Sox part I'm just saying it's spitting in the face to the fans they're not the giants the giants one seventy seven games and we're lucky to do so didn't they went in the nineties aren't they a playoff contender don't they have their own network don't they sell out every night don't they had dry huge numbers on television to to look your friends in the face and say you support us work to trading your favorites away I don't know man I I I I I think they'll be some push back I think the B. I. **** there's a lot of unhappy red Sox fans The Boston Globe today the be all kinds angry commentaries about how the red Sox are short sighted in cheap lysis incisions based on what the fans may think I really love this decision it's a bad in my opinion to bad business decision your did your training your superstar players in the midst of your championship window why is that a good decision I think the warriors trading Steph curry right now the warriors trading Klay Thompson right now would that be wise no it's not why because they're just they're the stars in their windows open am I missing something here those guys are free agents and your age okay coming back now but yeah I mean you can't you can't assume that I agree I live he wanted to come back I was a terrible message any time your trading star players when you are one of the richest teams that own your own TV network and your championship window is open I'm with you on that I think that that the fans have a reason to **** and complain about it and if they don't have no doubt they're not doing that right now I have no doubt talk radio boss of the fire right now just kill and kill in the red Sox and it's got to be ninety nine to one kill the red Sox to yeah I understand this or maybe that one is not killing them but yeah I'd like to kill your time great player this is not you know well he's Madison Bumgarner this is an all time great player you know so I think people need to factor that in as well a mass is a nice player who's had a nice past bets is a guy whose numbers compare over the last three or four years with the greatest to ever play the game Ted Williams met Willie Mays Barry Bonds and he's like a nine seven war player the last few years and you're talking about talk about a guy who does it in the in the field at the plate in his prime you have all the money in the world your your you you look your fans in the eyes they support us they've done it they've done their poor buster only guy right you respected I do I like the strong here's a tree for the bus Roman she better understands his importance to the union and wanted to get to free agency as Gerrit Cole did to push the free agent money ceiling for his union brethren that is right leaving the red Sox with a choice deal him or get almost nothing for him if he walked away no no you're assuming they can't afford him they are the richest team in the game they can afford anybody they want including rookie vets I mean it's fine all day long up their business plan so to speak I'm just I don't care I'm not a red Sox fan and I'm not I'm just saying that I'm just saying that it's like one of those things where this is not I'm out I don't think this is a good move I don't does get from Ali is good for baseball I definitely think it's good for Boston and I don't I at the I think it's awful for the red Sox fans and they've done they've supported their team probably as well if not better than any fanbase is supported their team in any sport.

"Krueger yet we thought he was on his way to the podium so we'll keep it here I mentioned no power plays for Colorado today buffalo didn't take a penalty I guess if here looking for bright spot Sabres had two cracks on the power play and they went zero of two in this one Philip grew our ends up getting the win in this one tonight for this for Colorado he faces twenty four shots makes twenty three saves and obviously the other end Carter Hutton takes the loss he was pulled your issue Hanson came in and made his NHL debut leading one goal against your stats of the game so a twenty get stat here is brought to you by strategic financial solutions lover you work strategic financial solutions three stars are all from the avalanche tonight Qadri had a goal he start over three this you should have a gold star number two Berkoff you had a goal we heard that the game when he also three other assist along the way four point effort for him and they're starting to one three stars brought you might go if it's going to it has to be good lot Evelyn's were good today but I draper Kaski definitely the first our honors no doubt about it he's a high impact player the game tonight brought to you by the lack foot outdoor store high impact your for hard working men and women you'll travel a thousand miles to find a store like ours the it also tended to KeyBank center tonight with sixteen thousand eight hundred and fifty nine buffalo next plays Thursday at seven o'clock against the Detroit Red Wings I will have pregame at six o'clock right here on our flagship station WGR and that of course the fifth of five in a row at home after the whole game against Detroit on Thursday the Sabres about a Madison Square Garden take on the Rangers on Friday before they come back for four more in a row at home Sunday Anaheim then Detroit then Columbus then Toronto so that is what is up coming before for the Sabres had knocked off to a two game road trip after that okay now Ralph Krueger who we go live yeah I mean the first thirty minutes we're looking at a really good hockey game and the first goal against was a you know the kind of war I've never seen before were all all six guys are looking somewhere else it was very strange but what happened then the next twenty minutes truly unacceptable and you know we have to do a deep dive on that really disappointed you know the going is that we scored at the end of the first seem to to bring us back in but that start and you know our inability to deal with their speed in their transition for that period of time you know we should we seem to be well prepared for it I thought we we began by playing the kind of game we need to play but we just deserted it and you know the the final.

"Krueger and Brooks did not what is say again by Berkeley Krueger jumped over with yeah up until six o'clock Marcus Thompson from Musburger Dennis ran a hand Tim Ryan Jonas said no man will not join is will join us at some point next week as he's cruising all radio row but will get your yeah I mean games as we can so we'll figure out which time I mean by no ran a hand we get conspiracy theories come in a five o'clock so if you're into those you get you get a couple of the actually gonna interested to hear this Marcus Thompson Brent himself it would be a good good day the gentleman two one four of man not just looking for the weekend I don't know why I had nothing on I have not been able to stop thinking about what Steve young said to us yesterday about the Niners and how they could and I think in his mind should attack Kansas city often simply what if they went out there in from the jump just started throwing around and with that totally catch Kansas city off guard is that a winning strategy it's it's something they can do well I I did that and I said this yesterday I think they should do with the first series that they didn't they don't I mean it's I don't eat a huge deal because I who they are I don't think you can be yeah but all the into the biggest game of the year and then go off script a little bit like I mean they are powerful ball smash mouth team that's who they are but they can throw like thirteen that runs the control sure their teams other that throw the can run but dead their identity is running so they can get away from your identity but I do I would like to see them and it up in the first drive just to say Hey you know we see if you use that climbed we could still be to give some to think about yeah or exactly Kansas city's desire to just like you know what we just saw Stopera because we're not good at it we don't put eight nine guys in the box and see if you could exploit that and how long will it take for the city to make that a judge if you do we well yeah now they come out and play straight up then I would just run the ball of them I'm not gonna throw just to throw but if I see that there are like gonna challenges yes how love aired out the first the first series but ultimately their smash mouth football thank you just come out you just do what you been doing to even done which is absolutely running the ball three out of four times run the ball I'm not not the passing would not be a good game plan not that the foreigners on of weapons I just heard Jim Washburn say devos a bad man and but it's all it's all predicated on how does Bagnall try to defend Skiles offenses you load the box of the line of scrimmage like they did against their cannery and just say we don't think you can pass against us and then that's T. bone Emmanuel Sanders and George killed on the same time it's time to throw the ball or do they play a little bit more straight up and see if they can handle in their base the niner run tack but if you're the Niners I think you run the ball and you run the ball creatively with D. both Moster with all these different guys different places mail don't just not between the tackles running but really run it until Kansas city can prove that they can stop it because the twenty sixth against the run yeah although I like to see what they are against the run the last two months of the season it's better if they're they're definitely better than than they have been early on they were brutal but there I think against the pass their eighth they get the eighty three to pass defense in the twenty six rated rushing defense some I would run the ball Adam and and they Niners around seventy five percent of the time which is a full load and it's worked in they've destroyed the last two teams so I wouldn't stop and I'd start running and if they can stop it then I'll go to my past game if they can't stop and I'm around all day yeah I mean they've they've a beaten up to better rush defenses than the Kansas City Chiefs so it again I'd either waiving tiled thousand I mean whatever he does he's gonna have a good reason for it my only thing is that they're going to load it then I think you take advantage of the first series and go and just put that in the back of your mind that you do that you were going to burn it but yeah any anything that's a normal defense they come out with that I'm just going to do what I do that's who I am that's who they are I mean they told you who they are the last two weeks of the season they they can do it the other way Jimmy's add some games in the past offenses at some games me when they need to put up forty eight to put it up against New Orleans I mean they put up points this year but they always want to run the football and if you can't stop when we see what they do and I love it who to run we're gonna run some good to get bored in border right let's throw the ball here god is like yeah what is he running what is he running well we will yeah we'll be Oklahoma nineteen eighty four followed run the ball run the ball run the ball run the ball run the ball run the ball are you gonna stop us now run the ball run the ball rather to have quarters that though the damn football side that mean that be like going to have court is the N. B. and I should the three like it is dominating somebody on the block and they can't stop being just like network issue three is just keep get into that govern kicking the guy's **** you know we'll never see that happen no no probably not it's like that there is a been bye bye for a little while they run along the last two weeks Agence offenses they'll against defenses that were better than this against the run and they didn't have explosive offense is on the other side that matches Kansas city now you get real incentive to keep it all out of my homes that idea of controlling the lock in the game absolutely if you very important if you can get forty minutes of possession time in this game I think that's huge I mean my big question is can Emmanuel Moseley and Richard Sherman contain the explosives of Tyree killings and Sammy Watkins because that to me is a mismatch in favor of Kansas city and yeah the nine pass rushers can have something to say about that but that to me is where my big question on the forty Niners can they can Sherman and mostly stand up to walk ins in hill and contain them from just beating them over the top at will because that to me that's a big question there's a major speed disparity there yeah you know what I I don't know you would know more nine hells faster and everybody but people do I mean he is he is defendable walk ins to me is good but he he he I mean he has games too we're gonna disappears here I'm more concerned with Kelsey to be honest with you because it is worth people out I mean ages over the middle of me you need a need to play he's the guy who runs good route is tough he has good hands hello is interesting the last two weeks he dropped ball if the thing the first fully through dropped and then after that a leg maybe sitting cat to decide is and go off after that would be turned into the hold after drugs the first ball and he gets mad and everything that that Kelsey smash though he he he scares me he added decade Decca scares me just like a from Kansas city kettle scares me every cable kills the best in the league girls is probably second third best tied in in the leg I think the whole thing and we'll get into this more next Friday but to me it's about the bed in the Niners pass rush if they get term Niners when if they get to him occasionally then it's gonna be one of those games you know you need some did did maybe turnovers are good fortune one way the other if they can't get to then they're gonna be can't win I just cannot see a scenario where the latter happens it's it's got to be there occasionally or constant pressure and you can see the good line I think they'll get there I don't live dominate the game but that's a question when they get there in my home's gives you an opportunity to do so with that gave it it's all about like do you make the play right I was watching those again I was watching the NFL games of the super bowls and when the Niners came back in Montana hit Taylor in the end zone to win that game bill is that bold did they don't even have that chance more than likely and it's like right laugh there I mean Joe couldn't ended to many better any kicked it and you see stuff like that man it's like there there's always these little things like a few times during the game where you have a chance to make that play if you make it they don't make it when you don't make it those things come back to the high so who knows what's going to happen this game should be a good one but I have no idea the rest sometimes it was saying that the ball bounces funny ways the one thing I do like about this crew that I read is they don't a lot of like those are nice that like that just let him play even if you miss a couple or somebody gets away with something I'm I'm okay with that what about a blatant pass in front of me that over a fish's jerk no you don't even over faces you're in over fishes jerk with a levy well I mean that's one of the coaching points all righties observe how the NFL if there's been a theme in the officiating in the post season it's been kind of a hands off approach right yep so if I'm a defense of coach that means Hey guys let's get let's be real aggressive in that you know find out where that line is how hands offer they going to be when it comes to being within the rules and all the field not out of bounds the aggressive with the quarterback we seem to be hands off when it comes to pass interference we've seen them be hands off when it comes to you know line play but are they going to be hands off if a niner defender has a clean legal inbound.

"Day was January. Twenty four th nineteen thirty five. Canned beer hit the shelves for the first time. When Kruger's finest beer and Kruger's cream l.? Went on sale. Beer is an alcoholic beverage. Made from the fermentation of grain. Historical evidence supports the existence of beer. Seven thousand years ago but it could be older than that beer was popular and Mesopotamia Egypt and other places in the ancient world ancient the Greeks and Romans preferred wine over beer but beer production spread throughout Europe in ancient and medieval times when a brewing and baking or closely related related tasks so people have been figuring out ways to serve and store beer for a long time. And it's early days. Beer was served in buckets. lookit sacks jars and other vessels. It was often drunk just after fermentation before it spoiled glass bottles were first produced. I sometime around the first century. BC But they were a luxury throughout the Middle Ages brewers began putting beer in hand blown glass asp bottles in England in the late fifteen hundreds but the bottle often exploded from the carbon dioxide pressure inside and not everyone accepted drinking in beer out of a bottle versus a cask on top of that bottles were expensive and had to be filled in court by hand over on the North and South South American continents native Americans brewed beer using corn. Before Europeans even arrived early colonists began making beer and by the early eighteen. Eight hundred the number of breweries in the US had grown significantly but consumption of commercially brewed. Beer still moderate but by the second half of the century German emigrants bringing new brewing methods to the US and breweries proliferated higher wages better technology. The an urban ization also contributed to this rise in production in eighteen. Sixty six are mold was invented and it made production cheaper cheaper and faster eighteen. Seventy three Karl von Linda working for the spot in brewery in Munich invented mechanical refrigeration. Ration- This allowed for Year round brewing and made colder processed lager beers more available in eighteen. Seventy nine an English man and named Henry Barrett invented this top beer bottle. Pasteurization caught on and beer production so that bottle beers could be stored longer and shipped farther her and in one thousand nine hundred Michael. Joseph Owens invented the first automated glass bottle manufacturing machine by the early nineteen. Hundreds bottled career was taking off but glass bottles were heavy and expensive and they weren't the easiest to stack and ship. People also paid deposits deposits on bottles. which could be returned for a refined many of the return bottles were unusable adding to the cost of the whole operation? Plus brewers. I were sending their beer farther distances and they want it to cut costs by this time cans were already being used for. Food distribution cans ends did not weigh as much as bottles and cheat. That said the metal would react with the beer to affect its taste and cans had to be able to contain the pressure of carbonated beer. The American can company started trying to canned beer around nineteen nine. But prohibition made the production and Distribution of Alcoholic Beverages illegal prohibition was repealed in late nineteen thirty three by then the American can company had engineered a can. That solved loved the metallic taste and pressure problems. Initial test with Kellyanne. PABST beer went well but the product had to be tried out. In a market the American can company approached the goat freed Krueger Brewing Company in Newark New Jersey and offered to build them a canning line and pay for the first test. Batches two thousand cans of three point two percent alcohol by volume Krueger. Beer was delivered to faithful Krueger drinkers. who were overwhelmingly happy with the canned beer? Her on January twenty fourth nineteen thirty five Kruger's cream Ale and Kruger's finest beer became the first beers soul to the general public incans competitors soon began selling canned beer and its popularity grew throughout the nineteen thirties. After World War Two the first cans Hans were flat topped and had to be opened with Turkey then came cone top cans that could be closed with crown caps. Then pull tab tops. Then stay tap. TAP tops by nineteen seventy-five as beer cans went through more reinventions caught on with more consumers and brewing company's the Krueger Brewing Brewing Company shut down in nineteen sixty one pushed out of the market by companies like anheuser busch was then sold to another brewing company. "Yeah basically blink. I don't like you anymore. You've just ruined all my things and I will do this in a ignorant way. There's I disagree I'M GONNA recommend Lawrence Krauss. The physics of Star Trek so Lawrence Krauss is physicist and he spent all this time with the Star Trek crew. Trying to tell them about in everything was fake things that they have is they have when you when you accelerate towards the speed of light. Your law says that every first losses does every action has an equal and opposite reaction so as you accelerate your push back in your seat while accelerating the speed of light your turn into Mush because of the he is a universal forces. So how do you deal with that on Star Trek and he goes and they basically the writers say very effectively we deal with initialled inertial dampeners honors. They came out with Nice. Yeah they weren't need. The answer was they weren't very well. That's not an answer. But like there is no way to inertial dampeners that doesn't as an adverb. There's no possible physical solution to that. You will be turned into Mush if you accelerate towards the speed of light very quickly. What work okay? So obviously this is show about cryptocurrency and I could continue to ask you questions because I'm exceptionally interested in what you said. You might be the smartest person I've ever talked to Fred so therefore I have a lot of questions but we'll save that for next time because as I said I I do WANNA finish off with my favorite question or secondary question as aliens one is typically is my right my favorite But here's here's the other one that gets a lot of the interest in a lot of people wanNA know about it. Feel free again to pass. This is not financial advice people but Bitcoin Kit. I never be a million dollars yes I I'm going to the million nets by the way Tom Lease number. And that's I think we we'll hit million in in our certainly in your lifetime. Yep within my lifetime as well and that's why I think everybody should own at least one bit. The only twenty one million people can ever own bitcoin right. So it's it's it is definitely if it's not certain is definitely possible right and it's not it's not a zero percent chance especially way we're printing money right now. I think probably will get a million so yup I. I always do answer that when I had that question asked to me and I say you know more than likely I do think bitcoin will reach a million dollars myself. I just think that it's is going to come at the expense of collapse economies across across the board and unfortunately that may or may not be the case but But that's that's the likely scenario for me to see bitcoin. Join hitting a million dollars but I agree as a mathematician like yourself. You know you probably can do the math and figure out. Hey bitcoin gonorrhea folks there's only twenty one million that will ever be existing and a lot of that's already been loss or a portion of that has been lost so we'll leave it at that for now Fred anything that we miss anything you WanNa you WANNA know. Just love the show listening. I'm a listener too. Yeah I think to me this is your show you and pomp are the the two guys that I feel are really good at digging into. I think there's something really interesting that's happening here for almost from a societal point of view crypto. I think you you guys are sort of great. It's kind of digging through that human story of how all what does this all mean from a human point of view and I don't really even one hundred percent understand it but like it's definitely were going into some weird we're going into a new world right that are not so much governments that you can kinda take your coins with you and move to Iceland. You know like you know what I mean like you know I. I think we're I think we're headed into that world and And and that's that freedom and you know look. I'm a libertarian. Like you look I love this idea. I love the idea of not having to register with these banks and I just love that that freedom but you know I think did I do think we're GonNa get there in the next ten years you know. I think we are going to see a world where a lot of people live outside side of the banking system you know and their net worth in their their savings are in crypto digital assets. And that that they they can take those assets with them many where they can give them to whoever they want. And I think that's a basic human right you now that I think absolutely. I think we're going to you know people don't really realize sort of like owning your own digital assets is gonNA emerge as a human right and And I think people in the United Nations will recognize this as a human right at some point. You know that you should be able to own your own assets and they they love the way you said that channel be taken away from you and then that's for when it's on their mind you know what I mean now. We gotta make sure that they really are yours. And there's no back doors and you know we we gotta figure out all this stuff out you know. Look as a wallet maker I am. I have a lot of a lot of responsibility right business. A lot of money on these wallets. And and you know look it's non-custodial and you've got to trust Fred Krueger that I'm not gonNA put back doors in there and stuff you know but I try to figure out the more non-custodial e completely. That's that's the vision. I think of the future that I think is amazing right that if we can have this world where are we all can kind of run the world you know and take our crypto with us in literally. Don't even have to carry it. You just have to have have access to the Internet somewhere in a computer. That's that is that's the dream right and that you could live and you can interact with the Amer earn money right absolutely and earn learn and interact with this world and earn a living. Yep crypto and move anywhere on this planet and have access to this criminally went and Frederick as as the population continues to grow in the world. You know jobs are going to have to evolve with what is necessary and the jobs are evolving as we're speaking and you know you're you're living proof of that just after we started on the script. I think we want to build. Sort of a crypto of fiber. Right up you know and I still think I think this is a great. It's a great use. Case for Crypto is just paying people right. You know I think number one use case right now. Yeah exactly and I think you know. Look I think it's it's I think a lot of people are going to be paid in Crypto. You know ten twenty years from now I think I think that that's not just going to be the odd freelancer in Latvia. You Know Yep. I think it'll be the guy next door in the guy the guy next door and you know in in in in Georgia or wherever. It doesn't matter so not not to mention. I don't know if you saw the episode. I had what I see the football club. I don't know if your sports guy either but you you know. This is the premier league this is the the biggest league in all sports is bigger than the NFL. Bigger than you know. Whatever you WANNA talk about the Premier League in in the UK is the the most watched sport you know league in the world and what furred is now sponsored a semi anonymously by a group and they have bitcoin on their on their shoulder? And you know every time a goal scored they raise arm. The public sees bitcoin. How much credibility is that? It's incredible and the very beginning stages of this thing I really don't. I don't think it's going to be I think we're we're just like fumbling around regard. I like to see you know people. Some of my co-founder say Fred. You know you're well respected stuff. I listened isn't the blind leading the blind right now. We have no. We really don't know. How does it GONNA play out? I feel like I am humble in that sense. I don't know I don't know you can Microsoft Kumba. Something can face what you're saying like everything's possible right now. Could the government do some thing in California our the final like way in on blockchain regulation I mean. What a terrible terrible you know absolutely like But you know I don't know how it's GONNA play out. I have some suspicions. John's on how we can make it more usable. And that you know if I can help lease on that and and I think what people see links and the come see how what we built in the next couple of months. I think it was going to be. It's going to reset the bar as people going. Oh Okay that's kind of. That's we need to do that. You know what I mean. I cannot wait and I don't think there's a person who's who's more ready for that than you and I know you may or may not agree with that but look I love to have a love to come back back in a couple of months and you know get you as an act of links user and and have some apps and maybe have some ideas for apps absolutely I consider that done and whatever you need right so I love to offer some kind of thing. We'll think of something for the Crypto coin traitor usually users. Yep We'd love to give some Promo to get some Chirp into get links and get the wall and some use codes and everything so we'll we'll definitely we'll hash through that Fred. It's been a pleasure to have you on. I'm very thankful for over time. Of course and absolutely I. I just want to let you know on a personal level. I'm very fond of you. I think very highly and I'm honored as I said several times to have you on the show and I look forward to our next interaction and I can't wait to the two that till till the main that's open for everybody to see what you built. Thanks Joe absolutely all right BITCOIN radio until next time we'll hear. WBZ were bitcoin. Lives look what I'm doing for crypto verse. We've heard what Fred's doing. What are you doing for it all right? It's all of our responsibilities. We've got to take care of it season..

"We'll find out as soon as next season, the right style of coach for a very young team. Some of the common wisdom would be, you know, there can't be too much of a generation gap for these kids. I don't buy that argument myself. But some people think they need to see a Verster ticket where the ages are more similar than difference. I think that's such B S like I really do you know ages in them over k it's not how old you are. It's how much life you've got like Jeff how old are you? I turned fifty in July euro than me. Oh my. Oh my God. So depressing. Like you look better than me, and you're older than me ill the devil. But you're younger than fifty right like no, no, no. Don't be a knob like, you know, you're younger than fifty at heart. Oh, I'm still a goofball I've barely matured. But also, you've got young family. You're an active guy you're in good shape. You eat right. You do a lot of stuff that is not necessarily associated with being fifty. I don't even know what it. So if I don't feel like feel young. Yeah. I'll be forty nine in September. And I feel young I don't feel fifty I feel good. I'm trying to get in better shape. I've been way too fat for too long. But the fact is that I feel really good. I like you have young family, and I feel really good. I don't feel old Ralph Krueger's fifty nine he's in great shape. He's upbeat relentlessly. Okay. If you look at the number and say fifty nine or two old like that to be. That's just lame limited loser thinking is e somebody who is willing to challenge himself willing to adapt. We'll take a look at a team with Dahlin and a Eichel like your two cornerstone players young guys and say, I don't care that they're forty years younger than me how I going to get them to be better. And I think age is just a number. I think this is a guy who challenges himself to understand, and be great, no matter what the perceived challenges are I don't worry about that. I don't worry about that at all. What do we know about? Ralph Krueger we know but the go around in the locker year with the Edmonton Oilers that spell at the end. One nine costume probably op spa. We know what the World Cup of hockey. I don't think anybody thought that this team Europe was going to do anything in that tournament. Next thing you know they're playing in the final against Team Canada. But what do we know about Ralph Krueger? I mean, the one thing I know that the others did not like about him from a coaching point of view was not as attitude. But there was something tactics. They didn't like like one of the things I was told was he had some things that he did spacing wise. That could work on the international ice, but could not work in the NHL. There were just bases. They were assigned to protect that made sense on the bigger rings. But didn't make sense in the NHL rings. I think you can fix that. I remember in two thousand six we did the Olympics and Canada, that was the Olympics cana- lost in the in the quarterfinals to Russia in the round Robin. They lost Switzerland to nothing and Kruger coach team. Paul Di Pietro scored both goals. They shut shutdown cat in that game, Caddock could get nothing going in Martin Gerber was the goalie for that one. I think he's a guy. Who are the international surface, he knows how to play style that can keep you competitive? You know, like I say, the felt that some of those things didn't work in the NHL. I'm sure he'll be better at fixing that this time around. You see hires like this really get me excited. Anything back to here comes pretentious, quote, number three million here on this podcast for me. I read a lot of Schopenhauer university, and I still do I think it's a wonderful and underappreciated, philosopher, and he would say talent hits a target. No one can hit, but genius hits target. No one can see there's always been conventional way to coach hockey teams. And a lot of the coaches continued to get, you know, we'll Dan and wield out and revolved around and there are a lot of familiar faces..

"We are extremely proud to nounce bell Krueger as the nineteenth head coach in Buffalo Sabres history. Ralph is a great communicator, and has a history of being a strong leader. He's had the opportunity to be head coach the National Hockey League world championships World Cup and Olympics. I think as passer showing that he has a great ability to interact with players and get the most group as we went through this process. We felt Ralph was going to be a great fit to be the next coach to buckle. Savers. The Buffalo Sabres found their man the outflow savers make their move. And this is a very out of the box nontraditional though he doesn't background certainly with Edmonson World Cup of hockey as well. But this list hockey as well this falls into the category of this might be a swing for the fence, and it might be fantastic. And it might be a third pitch with and you're back to the dugout. We don't know. I'm always interested in this way, with fascinates for card Grunberg ended up somewhere in the NHL this year either the head coach and assistant coach, you're on this one early talked about it speculated about it. Give me your thoughts on Ralph Krueger bench, boss of the Buffalo Sabres buffalo their last couple of hires. They try Dan byles. Moss Stanley Cup champion. Didn't work, they try Phil Housley hottest system. Didn't work when you're a general manager, how many coaching hires do you get? I'm sure Jason bottles. Looking at this, like I have to get this one. Right. Right. So it took a while. But I figured out what some help from people who reached out, and I appreciate it all the connections. Ralph Krueger when a pig born Winnipeg. Yes. Dr Cal Botterill, Jason Jennifer's father, a longtime sports psychologist, who's teaches at the university of Manitoba. And also has worked in international hockey for hockey, Canada many times, I'm not sure of all the connections in terms of hockey Canada. And that, but they know each other apparently, the Kruger's and the bottles have a cottage on the same lake. I think it's lake of the woods, but I don't know, for sure. So the families know each other, I believe, also that Jason bottle and Ralph Krueger shared the same agents, the late Donbass lazy out of Winnipeg Winnipeg. So for I think, for a lot of us when you look at it. In that context, it makes a lot more sense. Jason bottle with what could be his last coaching higher. We don't know is going with a guy he really knows. And the thing about Krueger is and I started to see some interviews. I saw the had one with Mark Streit and another with Thomas Vanik and confirms. I think a lot of us knew about him. Ralph Krueger is a relentlessly positive guy, and the Buffalo Sabres organization has been shrouded in negativity for a long time because they just haven't done. Well, and he will change that. Now, the accident owes will be important. I believe Steve Smith, who coached with Krueger in Edmonton is going to stay on the staff, and I'm sure they'll go out and get someone else. But I just think that a at someone bottle nose well and be it is a guy who is positive and we talked off the top. Word association, perseverance Ralph Krueger. He's all about perseverance. He's all about perseverance indeed, and the Buffalo Sabres right now are all about youth, whether it's equal, whether it's lean whether it's the Thompsons and whether it's Casey middle stats, and your Alex Neil enders and hookah Capac allow just one. The Tilson is top player in the, the gel playing with celebrate wolves have fantastic netminder on the horizon, there is this again..

"We had terrible news this week with the passing of the great economist. Alan Krueger, it was my privilege of speaking with him in the spring of twenty fifteen and this is a continuation of that conversation where we get more in depth and get into the weeds about economics, the Federal Reserve and the labor markets. My guest today. Professor Alan Krueger, not Krugman not Alan Blinder. Professor Alan Krueger, people get that wrong. All the time though, thank all, the time Krugman, and I we get each other's mail. True story about ten years ago. I my office was three hundred Park Avenue. I have a cousin with the same name. As me. Barry ritholtz. He's a lawyer. He was working for golden for mutual funds is no t at the end of his name. So he's oils e and we're in the same building, we would get each other's mail. What are the odds that someone with the same? And it's not, you know, if John Smith statistics, right, but it was just always always sort of sort of fun. So Krueger, not Krugman. I have so many of the things I wanna I wanna talk to you about before we have to send you on on your way, we talked a lot of a lot of misconceptions. Lot of Arras people have what what do you think about economics or the BLS data? Whatever what do you think is the biggest misconception about economics out there? Well, I don't know. But the misconception. There's kind of a paranoia that the be alas is a tool of the administration in his pressured to come up with particular results, and you know, former I'll say this former G E CEO, Jack Welch right before the November twenty twelve election. There was a fairly decent employment number and he infamously tweeted out. Hey, those cog is will do anything to win election..
