Adjusting to Earth

"Human body adapts easily to microgravity working upside down soon becomes as natural is working right side up on Earth Astronaut Kristina. Cook only to remember how much things weigh and the effort it requires to move her arms and legs but wait isn't the biggest issue on orbit. The mind relies on visual cues rather than listening to the inner ear. The space environment lacks many of the sensory inputs. Take for granted on Earth. Enjoying sweet smells and a real shower. Are Things Cook is looking forward to but returning home also means having to do laundry instead of wearing clothes until they need to be thrown out and the thought of choices what to eat what to wear how to spend your time can be a bit daunting after living prescribed schedule for the past year. Still Cook reminds us. Life is a matter of perspective and the Moon. She says looks the same from orbit as it does from Earth

"With corona virus making us anxious here on earth. Let's focus for minute on outer space for the first time in four years. Nasr's taking applications for astronauts. New Astronauts are likely to be part of future expeditions. To the moon and Mars competitions is expected to be stiff during the last round NASA only accepted twelve people out of more than eighteen thousand applications. Women are a big piece of Nasr's future last month. Nasa astronaut Kristina Cook returned to Earth. After three hundred twenty eight days in space hers was the longest single spaceflight in history by a woman now. Katie Coleman a former astronaut with NASA. She's here to explain what it takes to go into space Katie. Thanks for coming on the show. Well thanks it said. It's a great subject. I'm so excited about the new selection also with us as Mary. Rub Net co wall. She wrote The lady astronaut series. He's also a science fiction writer as part of a writing Mary. Rubber Net has done extensive research on the world of astronauts and how gender specifically plays a role in making it to NASA and succeeding. There may Robyn. Thank you so much for being here on the show. I'm delighted to be here. So Katie we serve with you. Give us the basics here. What does it take to actually be an astronaut at NASA? Well I'm going to start by saying less than you think you know. It's it's so many people so many more people are qualified than apply. And basically you need right now. A master's degree in a stem field or the equivalent is and plus some experience in your field and there's so many people that have actually those qualifications that don't apply and amongst them. I'm going to say a lot of women and minorities and so I'm really so happy that you're talking about on your program so that maybe we can get the word out that basically spaces for everyone and I'll say wow spaces for women. The first time you looked at Earth from outer space what was it like the biggest thing I think is that you just think that that's something other people are going to see. Not You and to realize that you're really in that place in for me in the space shuttle looking down seeing the earth go by and also realizing that it's it's our whole place. I mean everyone is here and even before you know the troubles that we have You know particularly now with Corona virus where people are suddenly working together had an expected to. It was always very clear to me that if people could only realized that they're all in the same place in their all from the same place. We could solve anything so why. What's up of unique challenges? Do Women face in applying first of all realizing that their names and their qualifications belong on those applications in that they would be amazing astronauts and Actually I would sort of throw it to to marry robinet in that. I think part of the reason that doesn't happen enough. That qualified women and minorities don't apply is that they don't necessarily see themselves in those roles and part of that is because whenever they watch. Tv or advertisements or read books. They seldom see themselves in those roles. Mary how are you conquering that Think that she's absolutely right We're starting to see that shift Films like hidden figures reminded people that Women have been involved especially African. American women have been involved with the space program since very very early on but a lot of the early science fiction was written by men for men. You've got characters like Wilma deering in in Buck Rogers A. And it's not until later that you start to have women that are in leadership roles and and I think that's one of the things that happens with women. We hear this in a lot of different fields that we tend to self select ourselves out even when we're qualified but the other aspect of it is that When you're thinking about the women who are entering the field now The average age of a woman in tring NASA for as an astronaut or the average age of an astronaut is about thirty eight. And and when you think about the way culture was leading up to that point and and all of the barriers that were in place twenty years ago When women were entering the various stem fields. You see the the number of different things that kind of stood between them and getting the job experience. They needed to be qualified. Now so one of the things that I can do is a science fiction. Writer and other people in media can do is to try to to increase that representation to remind women that that these are options And also to train men and the other people in the workplace around them that that these are options that The you don't have to go with this one particular image in your head Katie has this great story about her son. Seeing a picture of an astronaut that I think is completely on point about this eighty. Can you share the story briefly? My son who's now nineteen and I think asleep but anyways it was when he was about four and there was a giant cutout. I was at some event and he came with me. And there's a giant cut out of you know a person in a spacesuit and it's really kind of hard to see that who that person is and he says Mommy as you said no that one's not me and he goes full then if it's not you whose mommy is it I love. He grew up in a different world. Marijuana are there any particular strengths that women bring to the field? So it's interesting question. There's a couple of different areas Historically that women have tested better than men We tend to say we even though I am not actually qualified in any way shape or form to be an astronaut because I am not in the stem fields But we tolerate higher. Jeez than men do Some of that has to do simply with stature but it's it is very useful thing when launching the other thing. That's been interesting. Historically is that women do much better on stress tests when the mercury thirteen Which worthy or the first women lady asked our first lady astronaut trainees We're going through the same mercury tests that the men did. They performed on the stress tests. Magnitudes better than the men. A one example is the they had sensory deprivation and the record for a man. Was I think three hours? They had to stop the test. After nine hours because She had just fallen asleep. Wait a minute. She fell asleep after nine. She was yes it was. She was just like sensory deprivation. This is nice at one of them was one of them was a mother of eight and I kind of imagined that in her head. She's like so. When is this test? GonNa Start Briefly What excites you? Most about Nasr's future. It's the fact that we are absolutely exploring further main going back to the moon going on to Mars. I mean this is. This is our place in one thing. I learned from going to spaces that I always thought space was somewhere else but actually it belongs to all of us and there's no question that people and we have to bring all of them really all the different kinds of people they are the ones and we are the ones that will explore it all starts with an application and I can only beg everyone who dreams of going and being part of it fill out that application. Celebrate who you are. Katie Coleman is a former NASA astronaut and Mary Rubber Net Koalas a science fiction writer and the author of the Lady Astronaut Series. Thank you so much for joining.

"It was the two hundred twenty first spacewalk performed in support of Space Station Assembly. But it's the first I bubbles known as the Benz the same condition affecting divers astronauts typically describe a spacewalk as the most physically challenging thing they do astronauts Kristina Cook and Jessica Moore replaced a critical battery controller during their venture outside the station. Women like Cook and Mirror squawk conducting an E. V. A. is no small feat the astronauts put on their bulky space suits several hours before the space walk the suits then pressurized while in the suit astronauts breathe pure oxygen to get rid of the nitrogen in their bodies preventing the formation of painful work continued to play increasingly important roles at NASA as we prepare to send the first woman and the next man to the moon for innovation now applies when an astronaut exits vehicle while in space and now to female astronauts have made history with NASA's first all woman space I'm Jennifer pulling innovation now is produced by the National Institute of Aerospace Through collaboration with NASA and is distributed by w HR V..

Finally, An All-Female Spacewalk

"Back in March NASA got US real jazzed up about an all fee Male spacewalk for the first time a one hundred percent female team was gonNA float outside the International Space Station and take care of some astronaut business needed a medium sized spacesuit and only one medium suit was ready to go not a great look for NASA Women Social Media blasted the decision including Hillary Clinton who tweeted make another soup and then fast forward to last Friday Christina Jessica with that the emergency service closed it finally happened I can't we are so proud of you and got a degree today astronauts Kristina Cook and Jessica Mirror both in medium-sized suits floated. into open space to replace faulty equipment related to powering the station but I'm pregnant working with us this morning in this is thirty five years after the first woman space walked in for Ellen Sto fan a former chief scientists at NASA that's too long to wait the you know the time that we have between these milestones You know I just shake my head a little bit because I it's just women are completely capable of getting the job done and in this case it really was a question of opportunity and equipment and now that it's happened it's great you know the fact that they were women was irrelevant they got the job that needed to be done on today on the show NASA celebrates the first all female spacewalks doc but how much progress has actually been made and I get to talk to Christina and Jessica the history-making spacewalkers themselves very briefly from space station this is NPR how do you hear me we have you loud and clear NPR. "NASA is trying again for its first ever all female spacewalk the initial attempt was abandoned earlier this year because NASA didn't have enough space suits in the right size Taylor whom law has more so what happened was they had a different astronaut in the International Space Station in the spring it was Ann McLean And she was she had trained on earth in both medium and large suits space suits And once she got to space and did a spacewalk she discovered she preferred her fellow astronaut Kristina Cook preferred the medium as well and there is only one spacesuit aboard the International Space Station so they had switch it up a little bit and she did at different spacewalk and they didn't get an opportunity to do it together so today Nasa Astronauts Kristina Cook and Jessica Mayor or scheduled to venture outside the International Space Station they're going to replace a power controller that failed over the weekend here's Taylor again she'll be originally intended to go out Monday October twenty first to upgrade some of the batteries and the outside of the station there was work done previous weekend and when they did that they discover that they had to fix it's part of that component so they moved up there walked today instead so the original goal is to upgrade the batteries instead they're going out to fix part of it so they can continue with the upgrades George the spacewalk which is the two hundred twenty first one to occur at the International Space Station since December nineteen ninety eight is scheduled to begin at about seven fifty. am eastern time it will be streamed on NASA's website if you WanNa

"And what it is. We were driving in. That would be a day like this. Where new story that we thought we had figured out would take many twists and turns. Just new. He did. Interesting. I wonder if even he knew they called an emergency session. At that point jussie smollet knew that charges would be dropped. I guess so very predictable. They're very I'm just bombed because the all female spacewalk was cancelled NASA was gonna have this historic spacewalk with all women almost checks. But then I. Shakes. I used to watch that show and Showtime. Of me for saying that, but. Is bizarre. Is they scheduled all female spacewalk has been cancelled by NASA because they didn't have the right size spacesuit that seems very bad poor planning right planned it because women would have had all the array of sizes when this is in the business of preparing for whatever could possibly happen. Their job is to figure out every scenario and have an answer for it. But somehow this one slip through NASA, astronauts and McLean Kristina cook were supposed to take part in the first off Email spacewalk on March twenty ninth. So coming up. Space agency announced today that quote doing part to space spacesuit availability on the station. The mission assignments had been changed. Cook will be partnered with a male astronaut Nick Haig, the pair will be working to install powerful lithium ion batteries for the international space station during their mission. It'll be the second spacewalk of series of three that NASA has planned a good name for the story would be this space. It make my astronaut look big. Oh god. There's your headline. That is the headline. The problem is this is this is bad because I mean, couldn't it just I guess it should fit properly. It's a space. You don't want any give. But I think the means women well said the guy who came up with the astronaut joke. Because like this isn't something. You would equate with men you men wouldn't put up with that. They would just say give me one. That's the size too. Big too small on fine with it. I need to go out and do space things. But I think this makes women look bad, and it shouldn't it. I don't think it makes I think it makes ever plan. This look bad. Cook Kristina cook, where's the same size as an McLean? Only one medium only one medium sized torso component is readily available to go to Ross Ross. Dress for less got on the raft. Big at three for three to sale going right now. I'm the only person by the way who calls Ross dress for less. Said ross. Yeah, I'm in a hurry. I think most people I have to say Ross dress for less. I don't know why tries my family not a little bullets the New York Times. Quoting a NASA spokeswoman reported that there are two medium-sized torsos currently on the international space station, but one has yet to be properly configured for space walk. It would take hours of crew label crew labor that's mentioned some additional risk to fix it. In time. I think they were fighting because they were wearing the same outfit. I can't believe a wearing the same thing. That's especially if we're supposed to wear the same thing. But same I can't be seen with you. I that makes you look bad the women. I get where you're coming from women unite like to show up in the same outright. It's embarrassing though. I don't really care. I really don't. Then you get the who were better. It's always strange like for years clothing stores, like the gap have had this thing when you come in. And you try something on they say this is preprogrammed response. They have you should really by that we're selling a lot of those everyone's buying that. So to me as a shopper, I say, well, then I'm not going to get it because everybody else I have never had any woman ever say that to me really ever. I can't tell you. How many times? Sponsor they go. You should really get that number one. That looks great on you. Right. That is a woman working you us. I know no one has ever jazz. Although I shop like an self-serve place like Ross dress for less, marshalls or TJ. But jasmine has anyone ever said to God that looks great. You should buy. You should snatch that up now everyone's buying. It depends really like a fisa jacket or something, and I'm trying it on and I'm in the mirror then limit on that looks cute on you who works at the store. Right. Do they snatch it up because everyone I've never heard yet. How many times that's the one two punch punch? Number one. Is that perfect color? Perfect. You gotta get that number two. Because I know it's a game early on when I was younger. I'm like, wow. Look good. The saleswoman said how good at? Be really pulled something off salesperson, and they see people trying on clothes all day Sheva and said, then they always used to say, and this was especially the gap not exclusively. But especially we have been selling a lot of. So you gotta get it. It's hot item. But then I would be I would say, well, the no because then everywhere, I go somebody will have this. What is the last time? Someone said that to honestly twenty years ago though, no within. Year and a half two years have never ever heard an say more when I was younger and more adventurous with my clothing choices. Kind of sweatshirt shorts. I'm done. Let's go home. Also at Lincoln ball. They used to have a store, and I don't remember the name of the store. Actually. It's it's so funny. We had Jimmy partly on Friday Jimmy worked at Lincoln mall at the same time. I did he worked at JR's music. And I worked at toys by Rizzi the music show. Oh, yeah. Yeah. But there was a store in there where the girls were instructed it was a men's clothing store and all the sales people were attractive women, and they would touch you a lot like you would try stuff on and they would just like gently Massat like they look out great it fits in the arms the shoulders. They would there was a lot of physicality. Did you go in there every day? After the food quarter before before and after. No. 'cause you, you know, you're naive high school, and you're like, wow. This the girls get excited when they see this. But little did we know that was part of the game plan to sell their goods. And what was it like a roughly salmon colored shirt more times than? Remember the name of the store? Now, wasn't very go round was no, no it had a it had a European sounding name is all I remember which added to the mystique that if I was in Europe things of even better where this shirt the next time. I'm in. Women won't be able to control themselves. Come running over fumble lose three one two two three five twenty five twenty five. If you have any idea what it's tour was called. It was that it was at Lincoln mall. Jimmy, and I have discussed this in the past. Because we both thought it was singular to only us. You know that? Yeah. Girl that happened to you too. We'd get upset when we'd find out. I thought I was the only one that was getting excited by trying on the clothes there. I punched in Lincoln mall, European men's clothing, snow, it, it wasn't European men's clothing. But the name of the store had a big European flair to it Gant. You wasn't Gant. I remember them. John vodkas. No. I don't think it was there is there is there a list online of stores that existed at Lincoln mall. I don't know. I don't know if they're still there. We'll Lincoln malls. No longer. This is near Lincoln square. This is no Lincoln square. I think is Lincoln would I put Lincoln mall or you did. Yeah. In matteson. Where it was. Yeah. Madison. No, it's it's Matson jazz. Beck me up on this. Maxon that's Mets called it. Manson always now there's been a resurgence of people incorrectly. Referring to it as Madison, Wisconsin. That's the state kept will discuss that greed. All right. Sounded like Zeke have reach but because they made pants, right? But that kind of a European sound with the Z, no not necessarily. No. I don't remember what it was. If I heard it. I'd remember it. But I can't wreck my brain. I've got more important things to wreck my brain over what I can't think of anything right now. Okay. That the space. Walk is not happening. Yeah. That's very upsetting. He had no one has it been rescheduled. No, they're going with the man's going instead of Christina. Cook was one of two women that was going to take part. She will now be partnering with Nick Hague. So out of the mix is Anna MacLean the mix. Careful. He's he's he's a friend of the show. No, he's not. Wendy and other women's news. A Maryland magazine your gynecologist again. It was three months old. They said this is old news. That was a Maryland woman has suffered a stroke after tearing an artery during a yoga pose as possible. I from what I hear from those close to me, aka my wife, you'll gain nothing but good for you. Well, she says everything about you is good for you. But now, I will carry this story around in my wallet. And from ever told that I will tell her about the woman in Maryland who had a massive stroke after tearing an artery. While attempting a yoga handstand pose. She said she's still suffering from memory loss and severe headaches, but has not given up for passion for the practice of yoga. I wonder if it was truly the yoga pose that caused it or just sometimes happened. Anyway. Shoulder. Checking car, I'm telling you weird things happen. I pulled a muscle hugging. Air soaring yesterday. That happens. He's so tall to be a warning on him. To hug him at your own risk because you might tear muscle, and I will tell you totally hug him. Or did you climb went went to hunt him? But I stretched so tall tall his way taller than I thought he wasn't ever want to hug him before. But I was consoling him over the death of his dog Hazel chestnut has suggested to me privately that we have in. No hugging policy with you in the guest. Oh, all right. I'm a hugger. We've had complained a lover. Training. But if it all depends on teacher because I I was talking to Dr about this and yoga doctor regular regular doctor. And she was saying if you don't have someone teaching the class correctly, or if you're not doing the positions correctly, some of these things can be super dangerous for you Pilates, yoga, you need to have someone teaching you the proper way and kind of keeping an eye on sounds like this woman is a pro and does yoga very frequently. I'm getting the feeling it was just a freak accident after deck. Here's what she says, Rebecca Leah's her name. She's forty I don't know whether it's print into the story, but they said that she's forty but she looks like she's thirty nine. She's ingratiating age because that's young have a stroke if I guess so. Yeah. After decades focusing on working out and my diet and making as many healthy decisions as I could for my body. Having a stroke by doing yoga just didn't seem fair. Nodding my head in agreement. It doesn't seem fair and Tober of twenty seventeen Lee had been recording her attempt at a hollow back handstand. What would that be do? You have any idea. What that is. I know Hala backbone. So I don't know what. She was attempting the backhand, stand pose for her social media following there's the problem, we should not everyone should not have a social media following. But experienced blurry vision and lost control for arm in the immediate aftermath. That's bad. Oh, that's when you are on your forearms doing a handstand, but your legs are kind of out like a running deer. One rainy that in real life. Well, let's see yoga pose. But here's all right. I'm I'm embarrassed to ask anybody this question. But I will ask you because I honestly don't know the answer of it. What's the point of those poses is it to strengthen your muscles? If you stay at is that what's going on. They're all honestly, the core. Look at this. You do this handstand? And I mean, you need exquisite control you need. Unbelievable. Core muscles to support the rest of your body has formed the letter t out of her body, right? The her legs are up in the air or Jay. You look at it. Right. Because she's on her forearms doing. I don't know how you can do a hands to end she probably just lifted herself up. Jasmine, you can do this because you do your cheer girl can try. Yeah. Oh, you're going to try while eating your lunch. Oh my gosh. Address line. This is another pose that this might be the hollow BAC handstand. And I think it means where your back is hollowed out like that..

NASA forced to cancel historic all-female spacewalk over limited spacesuit sizes

"Apple has announced NASA is under fire after scrapping the first ever all female spacewalk because only one properly sized spacesuit is ready with a man replacing one of the winning. Unless important thing to me is that there's two crew members that are comfortable that got the hatch complete the is successful and make it safely back inside. "What's happening surrounding the cat. The candidates. What are those candidates Representative? Jared polis is now facing a lawsuit. And joining me now Kristina cook the woman who filed the lawsuit Christina welcome to the show. Thanks so much for having me on Mandy. I appreciate it. I'm gonna let you explain this lawsuit. Rather than me tried explain it, and and perhaps convoluted, but what is the crux here? What's the problem the cracks here? It's actually it's not a lawsuit. It's a complaint filed with the secretary of state's office that he did not file his personal financial disclosure correctly. It's not accurate. It's not complete and he had to file that disclosure when he declared his candidacy back in June of two thousand seventeen and so you know, that's been out there for a while. And he's leaving off some pretty significant assets. Now, how did you come to this conclusion? Well, I I compared his personal financial disclosure. They filed with the state of Colorado with the one that he filed with congress, which is required to do on a yearly basis in July of twenty eighteen comparing those two documents who found that there was a ten to fifty million dollar asset in bridge house, a company that does medical tourism that he had left off of his Colorado disclosure now, you do you believe this purpose fuller US, citing motive or is this an oversight? Or are you just trying to make him clarify motivation is probably a little above my pay grade. But as you know, as far as my profession, I'm a I'm a forensic CPA by profession do for a living. And so if I looking at this going, this is your largest single company asset, it's the fourth largest asset in your portfolio to leave it off. I find a bit incredible. I don't think that this was inadvertent. And that's my professional opinion. Now, this particular company this. Medical tourism company. This gets really dicey. Because this company is specifically created to provide medical tourism options out of the United States for people looking to save money. Right. Is that a good way to encapsulate? What it does exactly outside of the United States or to other states, but yes, outside of the United States? So let's say that your your deductible has gone up to six thousand dollars under ObamaCare, and you need surgery not surgery cost fifty five hundred dollars here in the states, or it's fifteen hundred dollars down in Mexico. What are you going to do you can go to Mexico? So that you can actually get that surgery without, you know, completely exhausting your financial resources. That's what medical tourism does is if the silicates that, you know, going going abroad to get that medical care. No. Here's what I find really interesting about this. It would stand to reason. And I've talked recently about the fact that ObamaCare is working exactly as it is intended. It was intended to collapse the system, so we will all clamor for single payer. Healthcare. And if you know anything about single payer healthcare in other countries, you know, that the wealthy people in those countries either have private insurance, they have a concierge doctor. They see or they engage your medical tourism. So it would seem is it fair to say that when Jared polis voted to advance ObamaCare he was also voting to advance his own personal interests. I believe that that's extremely fair to say. And if you look at the the revenues of bridge health over the course of two thousand eleven to now, you can see that their revenues. You know, went up, you know, five hundred percent over three years. You know, it's it's up and up and up and up. They've made the Inc. Five thousand fastest growing companies for the last four years in a row. So, you know, the revenues are going through the roof because of ObamaCare because people are taking advantage of of this service to go out of the country and get away from what they've done to the US healthcare system. So has have you reached out to Jared polis his campaign and asked? You know, what if they were going to make an amendment? I haven't we filed a complaint with the secretary of state's office because that's the proper channels. And then the secretary of state will make a finding on my complaint to determine whether or not it's valid. I believe that it is the documentary evidence evidence is pretty clear, and then the police campaign will then have to answer. That's that's what they tell us that they're waiting for is for the secretary of state's make a determination. It does seem odd that the oversight. I mean, they they could just copy and paste right into the new ones. I would think. I'm being facetious all a little bit. I mean, if you if you have to do these disclosures, I just don't think it should be that big a deal to just say, okay, we're gonna we're just gonna you know, but we'll do it again, you'd think that the second richest guy in congress would be able to hire an accountant capable of filing accurate disclosure. So, you know, that's which is another point as to whether or not this was intentional. The Colorado disclosures are fairly simple. They're laid out very easily the language on them is in clear English, and he should be able to just you're right cut and paste. And that's not what happened, obviously. Yeah. I guess not. So what is your waiting for a response? And then what is the procedure hair? What what happens when you file a complaint after they respond what what are the potential outcomes? Well, the outcomes are if he responds he has five days to cure. If they if they determined that it is a valid complaint, and he has five days to quote, unquote, cure the deficiency in his purse. Financial disclosure and to file an accurate one. But really, honestly the damage has already been done right now, he he filed this in in June of two thousand seventeen and over a year later, the discrepancy came to light when he filed his 2017 congressional disclosure. So for over a year, he lied to the voters of Colorado about what he owned and during that time there were rumors circulating that he had divested himself of bridge house, and and so forth. So the damage has already been done out there. He needs to come clean and file an accurate disclosure if he doesn't the penalty is that he's removed from the ballot. So he's he's obviously going to have to amend that. He would he would. He would definitely do that. I mean, it's it's draconian for a reason this is these are really important disclosures. And I think people need to understand that this is how they tell us whether or not they have conflicts of interest. Well, I, you know. Yeah. I I agree with you on that. I just think that it is it's. It's crazy that we have so much riding on this stuff. But at the same time, I absolutely understand why this is important. Now, let me ask you this. Because how does this compare to Jared polis is demanding that Trump releases tax returns? I mean, I is this about her of transparency in the same vein. Well, it's it's it's not in my opinion, in my professional opinion. Because I think the tax returns are very different from a balance sheet. You know, I am accounting speak out here, but the personal financial disclosures are what what is the own. You know, what are the things out there that are going to create a conflict of interest tax returns for the most part are simply titillating, you know, what was right effective tax rate. You know, did he donate to charity? They're news bite type things. But they don't tell you what he owns, and they don't tell you what you know. He's going to be able to what what he's going to be able to profit off, right? Right through a conflict of interest through things that he regulates as governor. And so I don't think it's comparable. I do think. It's interesting that he is agitated so loudly for Trump to release his tax returns. But he can't get his own personal financial disclosure, correct? So, you know, I mean, that's that's an interesting contrast and interesting piece of hypocrisy there. I appreciate it Christina cook. Keep us posted on what happens with this. Absolutely. We will Mandy thank you so much problem. Thank you. And have a great day that is Christina cook. Again, she's filed a complaint I use the word lawsuit. But it is a complaint against police for not disclosing. This campaign, by the way, I to keep talking about little things like that. The one thing I'm not going to talk about is Jared policies, physical altercation with a with a office worker. I got I got chastised yesterday after the show via Email from someone saying Mandy, this should all matter. No, no. Nope. It shouldn't it should not. So there you go. The other question that I got today is a question because before we talked to Christina. We were talking about the various amendments on the ballot. This from Sarah Sarah said I have seen where seventy five percent of amendment. Seventy three will go to para is this true that came from a government publication we received in the mail, and then she asked him other questions about how federal government sends money to Colorado schools, et cetera et cetera. It is my understanding, and I don't know where that seventy five percent number came from because I've seen a couple of different estimations bandied about but a significant amount of that money will go to shore up para and the other thing that I just learned as I was investigating amendment. Seventy three is that Colorado is way above average on spending for school administrators way way above average. I think it's like we spent more on administrative costs, then the US average and only fifty three percent of total expenditures Goto instruction. So forty seven percent of of educational dollars are administrative and don't don't get me wrong. I mean, we need administration in an office. But remember, and Dave you, and I we go back away is when I was a kid the administration of my Catholic school where I matriculated for elementary school consisted of sister in the principal and her secretary, and that was it. I mean that was it the teachers had to run their own mini graphs. Golly. Mimeographs? Remember, the smell of a mini graph. Dave. Purple ink. Did your teacher? Let you go run the maybe a graph machine. Yeah. See you would like jockey for position to go to just two. When it came out. Yeah. It was fantastic. You have no idea. What we're talking about? Do you grant just look it up because I had no idea what you're talking about. Look like, we hang on. I gotta look, oh graph. It was awesome. Thin papers. It was terrible. It was a copy machine grant. It was the earliest Xerox. There was I remember in the first grade them giving us mimeographed lessons to do in our handwriting lessons were all mimeograph. Yes. If you started them too soon, the ink just smeared, and it made it impossible for you to finish the rest of your your. And of course, they just called him Ditto machines, which I loved of course, I didn't know what I did was. I didn't know that was the thing. I thought that that was their actual name. I don't even know how I digress. But we have a huge administrative costs here in Colorado. And I'm not sure that. An amendment that radically changes our tax structure Jackson up our corporate our corporate tax rates about thirty percent. And I'm doing these numbers just flying blind right here in my mind. So they may not be exactly accurate, but they are close enough in the ballpark that I feel confident talking about it people always forget that we pay corporate taxes exact operations don't pay taxes that was my point. So all of these people that are going to vote tabs someone else pay for education funding, guess west suckers when the prices go up because taxes go up. That's when you feel the pain. So this someone else is gonna pay for it crap is crap. It's absolute garbage only that the other thing about amendment seventy three that I really want people to understand. It is not indexed for inflation. When it comes to the progressive income tax structure..
