Cronin and all about meditation. If you haven't listened to it. I highly recommended. Meditation is a habit that has really been life changing for me. So in this week's episode. I want to share ten habits. That have changed my life and by sharing them. I hope you will be inspired to try some of them or be inspired to find habits. That can change your life or support your dream life so for many years. I've been trying lots and lots of different ways of either adding habits that will support my dream life or removing habits. That are not supporting my dream life. I not a habit expert. But i have definitely shared a lot by trying before us thought the main thing is just to focus on one at the time as if we choose to many remain not achieve any at all and another advice is to start small. It may seem crazy or silly but it's incredibly powerful to just start and to sought small done a very short episode on that. So if you're heavenly center that one it's episode number eighty three. So let's get into my top ten habits that have changed my life. Number one is to get good quality sleep. There's a saying that are often say and he sleep solves. Everything and i tend to agree not sleeping. Well is really torture and for me. It was impossible to keep up with my business. Be creative and being a good mum. When i wasn't sleeping well. So i spend some time thinking about what i needed to do to improve my sleep and the answer wasn't the most obvious one which is to get a great night's retain older that is definitely a great habit to get into as well but for me. It was how. I ate. An how i'd try and which leads me into habit number two that also change my life a three months day talks. I am not a doctor. If you want to do this you will need to go to your doctor or find a nutritionist or a holistic doctor that can guide you through what date trucks will work. Best for you. I saw a holistic doctor many many years ago at and he got me focus on a very simple structure by eighteen only whole foods and remove sugar alcohol. Caffeine and things wasn't serving me. I actually eight pretty healthy before that but it was amazing to remove all the stimulants like sugar caffeine alcohol just for three months which made me sleep so much better which brings me to habit number. Three exercise daily the cost. I slept so well. And i ate so well i all of a sudden had all these energy so i could start exercising properly again exercises not my expertise but when you sleep. Better it better. You are more likely to feel like exercising. Such a move has been big part of my daily live. And when i talk about exercise these all varies from walking to running to go to the gym trained with the personal of china to go to classes. Jim go to yoga and piazza's. I absolutely love trying new things and as long as i move daily. I'm happy number four. Get up early. Yes i know this is not for everyone but i actually thought the same. I was not born a morning person. And i didn't think getting up early for me but getting up early has been a game changer. For me i get up early before anyone else in the house. And i have that time for me but having some time for me it means that i can cope with anything that comes my way during the day and adding being outside in the morning and see the sunrise and being out in nature and listening to inspiring podcasts. It's the most magical time of the day and often went out and there's hardly any people out of more waning. Gosh so many people missing out because it's such a beautiful way to start the day number. Five is a follow up on getting up early and that is to create a morning that works for you to have a plan for my mornings is so good. I have tried many different ways of starting my day and it will be different for everyone of course but by trying different things i have come up with my perfect morning ritual and of course i always try new things so my morning ritual in a few months time might be different because as i turned my dreams and as i evolves it a person my life changes and my morning ritual changes but it is great to have a plan that you can follow. That works for you. I think i would do a separate episode on what my morning ritual look like but in the meantime just try if you think that works for you number six. Look at your dreams or goals daily. When i was just focusing on having new year's resolutions back many many years ago. I tend to forget when they excitement fell off. I possibly mid january. So now. When i choose my top three dreams for the year i look at them daily. The power of that is that it makes me prioritize task at it makes my subconscious mind work on my dreams automatically so by looking at you. James daily and goals cities could be by written form. But it could also be on your vision board or something that you're record only today. Whatever works for you. Number seven spend ninety minutes daily on your number one project. I do these at nine. Am daily until ten thirty. And i try not have any meetings during that time. So i look off my calendar from nine to ten thirty. There is one day a week where i do have a meeting at nine thirty but all the other days working on my number one project between nine and ten thirty and this has started doing that. It just makes such a difference on the progress on my most important dream or goal or project at the time. Now eight meditate. I was talking about that before. But i can't tell you how much clear i am on. My dream live. And what i want in life. Since i started meditating again i will do more focus episode on that as well in the future. I stopped my day by meditating every single day and it sets my day up in such a wonderful way. So if you're not sure about how to meditate listen to the previous episode. Tom cronin that might get you excited to try a few different things. He recommended habit number nine. Read daily since asada. My personal growth journey reading books daily has had such an impact on my life. Once i worked out that one of my highest values is learning and personal growth. I now spend tom daley rating books paper books but i also listen to audio books bertha great and has been another life changing habit for me and last but not least habit number ten. What changed my life. Is that each quarter. I choose a habit that supports my dream live. Save my dream east to be fitter each birthday which it is. I often add a habit that supports that dream. Like an exercise habits. Something maybe something new that i wanna get in a habit of doing and if my dream is to have financial freedom i had a habit that supports that trim adding a habit. Each quarter for the last twenty years also shows my age. Time flies when you're having fun but it has been truly life changing for me so having really clear vision on my dream life but then choosing habits that can do daily to support my dream. Love has been so so so. I hope by sharing these that he will inspire you to find a life changing habit. That will support your dream life. So what do i mean with that when we have a big dream or a gold most of the time. It is something new that we haven't done before so it feels doting and feels hot and other. We don't start because we do not know where to start. The same applies we want to create a new routine or habit. The hottest pot a disturbing So when i'm in situation. I have a little for myself just to start. Sounds pretty simple right. But it's not. So what i do is that convince myself that i would just start with two minutes. Everyone can do two minutes of something they really want to do. For example if you dream is to start a business but you have no idea where to start. Take just two minutes and write down what you think you need to do. Just for two minutes. Another example is running if you want to add running as a habit. It often feels daunting to run five. K or five k in one heat if you haven't run for a while or if you have never done it before but most of us can run for two minutes. It's actually really hard to stop during lockdown a few weeks ago i decided to tackle some things in the house that was to be an organized or mri things like kitchen drawers and shelves. It's true. So i said why. Don't we just do ten minutes day. One door one shelf just ten minutes a day and she agreed she called me a couple of days later and she had gone through her whole house and her car was full of things to be given away or to throw out so once you start. "Feel like so many people who identify as dieters or like the healthy friend or the one who tries is always trying to lose weight or is always trying to you know do a diet or be the fit friend or whatever it is you know regardless of what your body size is when you're going through all of that and maybe you don't even identify as that but other people have identified you as that right and we can all see this especially when we go to you know if we think of our families the people that we typically see around the holidays like oh aunt. Susan is the one that's always on a diet. You know something like that. But i went through a similar process of you know always being like the fit friend and the healthy friend and the one who was always looking at food blogs and stuff like shocker which led me to start my own food blog that was borderline disorder at the time right. But then you know when you are going to this process of. Oh my gosh. Everything that i've been doing is not actually contributing to my health. It's taking away from my happiness. And it's gotten to the point where i feel like my value that i provide in. This world is just based on my body size there. Is this grieving period of like. Oh my gosh. I've been one. I've been hurting myself this whole time. And then on the second hand it's like what do i do going forward and i feel like a lot of people especially when they go through different life. Changes like you mentioned you know moving in with your boyfriend now husband at the time kind of forces you to go through that change and it's really uncomfortable because you don't want to go out of your routine out of what feels good to you right because like habit routine were like. Oh i want to stick to that and anything outside is like no no. That's not my comfort zone and especially when it can lead to body changes or what feels like a loss of identity. It's like you said you're like grieving past self but then there's also this worry of like if this isn't me who am i. And what do i do going forward. And then the like a bigger crisis of how do i actually find happiness in a body that is not so tightly controlled by like what you said are these diets that are basically like sanctioned disordered

Hi everyone and welcome back to another episode. today. I'm going to talk about something that i really want to encourage you to do their to dream. So why do i want you to do that. Having grown up on a farm in sweden and having a wonderful childhood and dreaming about troubling the world made such an impact on my life. But what. I didn't know then. Ease that i had no idea what actually is possible in our lifetime. And what on me with that is that we are such product of our environments and we are so influenced by our parents. Friends teachers our community and of course social media as well that we not know what is possible for us. If we don't dare to dream the most frequent obstacles for naught living. Our dream lives are. This is based on asking you guys questions all the time. What's your obstacles are number. One is self doubt not feeling that we can do it and not having confidence to do it now. The two we are worried about what other people think number three not having time now before not having money number five east that we don't have like minded people around us so let's talk about each number one self-doubt and that can be for a lot of different reasons. But what. I do know east that if we are jamie about doing something we haven't done before most of us will doubt that we can do it. And that is good as it is when we out of our compensation that we grow. If you stay exactly where you are you will never evolve. Mb the next version of yourself. Even if it's a bit uncomfortable that is what we have to do. A number two is that we are worried about what other people think. I hear this one way to offensively. If you were about what other people think you will never win and he will never leave your own authentic life. Why because there will with at dot be someone out there who think your dreams are crazy or impossible but that is because that's their view. Those streams are crazy and impossible for them. But not for you and some people be super inspired by dreams and you will always find birth. Some were lower you about to do and some will not it is as simple as that and you will never to be able to please everyone around you so if that is the case. Wouldn't you want to go for your dreams. The third one is not having time. And i hear you. We are all so go at filling up live with so many things and we don't have time to do what really matters are dreams and leaving our dream live versus other people are suggesting for us. The truth is all have twenty four hours a day in. it's up to us. To make the most of our twenty four hours we are given sustained looking at your shingles and start questioning. What you are doing. We all do some things on autopilot because we have always done it but let's change that. Look at everything you do and ask yourself if this was completely my decision. Would i actually do this. And these could be things that you do to yourself. Without thinking like spending thomas social media and watching television et cetera. Once you know what you spend time on it will start with awareness. You can then start saying no to things that you don't want to have part of your life and the other one i hear frequently is that you can't live your dream live because you don to have the money required and i don't want money to stop you from living your dream life. I completely understand that most of us have to pay rent mortgages food and have families to support. But don't let that stop you either. Having financial plan is part of creating your dream life. Whatever that means to you perhaps financial freedom could be one of your top dreams if you choose to and the last one is that you don't have like minded people around you. This one is so so important. Research says that you become like the five people you spend most always so choose. Those five people wisely. Subodh if you don't have them there are so many ways you can join. Groups are doing what you want to do. You can do a course you can attend seminars. Maybe a seminar that have a theme that you're interested in you can join networking groups. You can read books about themes and that's not real people that you are then in the theme of whatever that book as it is so important to be around like minded people so do whatever you can to find those people having created my own dream life and having most of the challenges that i have just mentioned. "Has been so helpful for me over the years and it really helped me shape the person i am as well as helping me on the road to living my dream life. It's nothing big in fact it's so small that it may seem insignificant but it makes a massive difference in your life and certainly has in mind and that is looking at our habits our days are made up of our habits and some that you may not even realize that you have habits are so ingrained and they happen automatically so i find it so useful to really look at what habits we are doing every day. That may not serve you or lead you to path of your dream live. I wouldn't give an example from my own life a few years ago. I was really struggling to sleep. Well i had young kids at the time. I was taking it kind of granted that this was just part of my life as a new parent. But when i started to really get my life there was more to it because i was so tired. I didn't get up early for my own time. I really really thrive if. I got some time in the morning before everyone else. But because i wasn't sleeping ball. I would stay in bed and hope to sleep in and because work up tired i would then drink more coffee than are normally would and i would also crave sweets things in the afternoon and not have the energy to cook as much healthy food as i normally would and to wind down at night after drinking. Too many coffees and having too much sugar. I would have a couple of glasses of wine and because of that i would not sleep well. Amended started again the next day it was a vicious cycle so for me to continue to create an work and cope with a young family and live a healthy life. I decided something had to change. So instead of what i always ask who and that is permitted mother episode that i can do in the future to start with who but who can help me so i found a holistic doctor and he put me on a strict diet for three months. No coffee now alcohol. No sugar no fun for coffee. Lavar had to say but pretty quickly. My life changed completely isolated. So much better which meant i got up earlier and adid memorial retain and i will share my morning routine in another episode but because i had my morning routine it made me such a happy person and certainly a better mom and peasant be around and because i felt so much better i had more energy to cook healthy food and because they're committed to follow the doctor's protocol i plan up my meals and i didn't have and lows from caffeine and sugar and of course we know alcohol slept so much better since that time which is over ten years ago now i look at my life all the time and ask myself. What habits would i like to add. Or what habits would like to get rid of if you human like me. We all have those little things. That sneaking alive lives that we might not even realize so. There's always something to work on. Sometimes it's hard to pinpoint one. As i'm sure if you're like me there are few you would like to change and that is often where we go wrong mate included when we try to do too many things at once and we end up not being able to do it all and we end up doing nothing so have think what if you could add one good habit to your life or remove a bad habit that will make the most difference in your life right now but would that be. I have done so many what i called. Sixty six days challenged over the years. But i thought i would share a few just in case that would inspire you. One is joined the five. Am club that means getting up at five am and no. I wasn't born a morning person quite the opposite. Once i realized the power morning routine i have not looked back and then i will definitely tell you more about that in a future episode and other one challenge. I did is. I started to run with an opt to reach ten k. Another one is reading ten pages a day. That might not seem a lot but it all add up and you get through a book really quickly while doing that way and you can choose whatever page count you want. But i found the ten pages wasn't too much for me elaborating anyway but i often do these kinds of challenges for books. That up might not be as easy to read. So if there's something. I want to learn but might not be. You know my favorite rate. I'll do things like these really really works and another one will write a car today so on challenge. I just wrote a car today. It was so lovely. Not just for the person who received a carbon also mayor had a cup of tea ben candle and made it really nice ritual any that for sixty six days another one. I drank celery juice for sixty six days. I've also done agreed smoothie challenge and that is one that is now part of my everyday life. I drink agreements meaty every single day. I have done a lot of different fitness yoga for sixty six day. Puertas and other fitness apps and just recently a just finished a sixty six days meditation. I do meditate everyday regardless. But i d just specific Dr joe dispenser. And i can talk more about that in future episodes while so i want to explain how i do it. I choose one habits that i will add or remove an. I will do it daily for sixty six days in a row. Why six days you may ask. There is a lot of reasons. Research suggests it takes sixty six days to make a habit stick compared to the twenty one days. Most of us have heard about before this does of course depend on. What kind of abilities and how long you've done that habit etc. But i have found that. When i do something for sixty six days it becomes part of my life and i often keep it or expand on it or As continue on the key is to make it small and easy to do so if you want to run everyday for example as part of your challenge and you haven't run much before you don't start with running five or ten k. You may start running for one minute and then at two it again it may seem so insignificant but it works so well as all the small things add up and in soon it becomes part of your life. If it's too hot to do. I think we a more likely not to do it. But if it's really easy a small step it makes it so much so if this is something you want to try. I have created a free resource. Now will create like a messenger group or whatsapp group and i would post in a daily when them but i committed to do daily. This would keep me accountable but also in spies may wanna see addison. "Real quick one but i get asked this question a lot. Hey christina yes. Personalization works sometimes. It can take a little bit longer if you get down this rabbit hole of research. But how do i get my team. And more importantly my leadership to understand the importance of personalization and so with this really goes back to really. The root of the question is how do i justify the time. I'm spending verses making fifty calls. Maybe i'm taking you know ten fifteen minutes per prospect really personalizing my outreach to try to get a higher return. And here's what i usually say. First and foremost don't piss off your leadership. We all have different goals. We all have different metrics that were held by their their for reason. So keep doing what you need to do. Fight the good game. What i usually tell people to do is whether it's on this side or you know kind of looping in your leadership team and say. Hey i'm going to keep hitting my metrics but i just want you to know. I think it's really important to test this new method of outreach takes a little bit more time but i am more than happy to carve out some time in test this on. Let's just say twenty five to fifty prospects right. I will present the data to you. Leadership team on was this fruitful. Doesn't make sense for maybe me to test this a little bit more and then it could turn into a situation where your leadership team is like. Hey all right you're onto something. How about you kind of go all in on that. We think it might be fruitful. Let's keep the rest of the team moving until he kinda flush this out some more. So i say there's two things here you know. "In anti Asian hate crimes is prompting state lawmakers to stand together in solidarity and take action. KFBK is Aubrey Aquino has more on new bills being introduced to combat this situation. Aubrey tell us what state lawmakers are doing. To address this. We've seen the video, and it is so disturbing these hate crimes against Asian Americans in the state to many of whom are elderly. Ah package of bills has been introduced by the Asian Pacific Legislative Caucus this month to address hate crimes here in the state. I wanna talk about self love. One of the reasons i am so passionate about helping people hitting badri m- life is because i see so many people not living their dream live and i do think that self love and dreaming has a connection when you love yourself you are more likely to feel you are worthy of living your dream life. This is not my expertise so as a wise. I'm just sharing what i'm learning and saying if you want to learn more about self love. I hope he listened to episode number sixty to love yourself like your life depends on it by camel viscount and if you want to go deeper. I highly recommend his book. And at the end of this episode. I will also recommended a couple of more episodes that done in the past. Could help you in this subject when you're going through a challenging tom. These could be anything like losing your job being on whale or a break up. It's really hard to get through. But there are always silver linings. It's often through hard times that we need to love ourselves a bit. Extra self-love isn't the same as self care but when you love yourself you are more likely to take care of yourself and you take care of yourself you are more likely to love yourself more so here are some tips on how to start loving yourself all loving yourself a beat more. I think we all love ourselves but sometimes we need a good reminder before i start we are all where they of love regardless of your past. What you have or haven't done you. I worthy of love. I think this is so important to remember and always know these regardless how you feel at any given time number one. Love your inner chart. What does it in a child need right. Now if it's love give love if it's support give yourself support give you a younger version of yourself. All the things you feel it was missing or is missing. Once you start doing this you will start loving yourself number two. There's only one person like you. You are completely unique. They will never be another you. How amazing is that. You are here on earth to live love and enjoy life. What makes you unique and different and give yourself all the love in the world while you're here on at number three. Speak to yourself as you do to anyone else or how you would like to have spoken to as a child. Sometimes we are so lovely to others but so harsh to our selves. So maybe start looking at that. How are you speaking to yourself. Number four remember that life is short and when you realize how incredibly lucky you are to be here on earth and you own to have a short amount of time on earth. Well i think life is short regardless if we get to live long live so if you only get this one precious life. Shouldn't we just love ourselves as if our lives depends on it number five. Love yourself by looking after yourself and eighteen entering. Well if you love yourself what would you do for your health. What kinda feared would your eight. What cannot drinks. Would you drink if you truly love yourself when you start thinking this way. You're more likely to choose healthy food and drinks and move your body number six. What habits do you need to get rid of or add to love yourself once. You'd love yourself. You just want the best for the person you love yourself number seven. Do what you love that to me is really loving yourself. Daily do what you love what you're passionate about and what you choose to do when you truly love yourself. Threes no way. You will do things at work over others that you don't want to do number eight. Say no more when you love yourself. It's so much easier to say no to things that you do not want to do because you are number one priority. So next time you get asked and want to say no ask yourself. If i truly love myself would have said yes to this and this is not just when other people are asking you. These could also be things that you thinking of doing. And you're not quite sure if desisto right thing to do so just ask yourself. If i truly love myself would say yesterday's. This is something that i got out of. Kamal's book that. I've mentioned earlier number nine to love yourself. You need to stop comparing yourself to this. Remember that you actually. Unique and there is no nato compare yourself to others let them do their own unique things if they are doing things that you want or they are great at something that you want to be graded be inspired and learn from them. Then you love yourself while constantly improving and growing number ten be true to yourself and set healthy boundaries. If you living the life of your dreams and he'd love yourself what boundaries. Could you need to set. So this is just a short episode with some tips on how you can start or continue to love yourself and it'll be more loving yourself can be truly life changing so take some time each day and ask yourself. But i have three main dreams. That is really really important to me. You can decide whatever the right number is for you. The most important thing is that it's clear for you or you want to do this year. I do a few exercises to work. At what i want to planning. I have created some free. Downloadable said are linked in the show notes that you can use to plan out yulia. I i have my top three dreams on one page and my seven actions under an clear dream life roadmap if you want to work out how to get to this stage. It's a longer process. And i have it in my book. Dreamed i've starts here or you can join my next intake from my digital course. There is no specific date on that yet. But you can join the waitlist. I also have a page with my top ten james for my lifetime. This a term dreams like my dream home financial freedom live two hundred and twenty years old etc but i have them in my mind as they guide me what i do every day. It doesn't mean. I do focus work on them but thank god me what. I'm doing h. Day for example one of my dreams is to leave the two hundred twenty so health and fitness and all that is really wants to open my mind because that dream i have included a pdf on these two and there are links in the show notes. I also have all my dreams per life area. This page one hundred ninety two in my book but i have also included a printable. Pdf these in the show notes. So you can start dreaming pro-life area today. I have this economy in case other awesome things this year that i want to planning then use a key k war planner and i will add to that to the show notes as well and pan out all the k dates they will. Of course be different for you. But i wanna share mine and you just make it your own a love using the kick war planner as i'm a visual person and i want to see an overview over the whole yep so here are the things that i do number one. I put in the school term dates and old school holidays. I i on acta plan our school holidays in advance. So i can plan my work around it and these are the dates that are set so i can't change that so if i'm very clear on that i can work around that number two i put in all the public holidays and long weekends and peps other weekends are no in advance so i had that all clear number three. I add in old birthdays for my family. My friends and other important dates like anniversary states like valentine's day celebrated that. I do a valentine's breakfast for my family. I also put in. Halloween are always organized. A halloween breakfast. Just add in all your k- dates whatever you celebrate and all the things that is important to you once i've done this. I put in four retreats for myself. This is why. I go away with my best friend and current and we go through where we are at with our goals for the quarter and plan for the following quarter. I think it will do is separate podcast on these because it's such a wonderful thing to do and there is so many things that i can pass on the perhaps you wanna do in your own life. We spent about four days together. An officer is a couple of days on my own. I love having time and space to think and just to be. This is where most of my ideas are born. And i spent a lot of hours in nature working a raid at journal and have topped. Just think and these might be a luxury to have four. I worked afterwards. You started with ones yet. Now do a recorder because they make such a difference to my life but if this is something maybe add to your dreams maybe start something this year number five after that. I adding all my work trips public speaking. And other vince that. I know that i need to do this. Yep including strategy meetings for the business etcetera so adding all that in then look at my dreams and see if i can divide it up in different themes so for example one of my dreams you see students by more people to dream and having them joining my detroit course. I can support them. So i will be sitting out my launch dates for that and also add in other things in the month that i need to focus on this is more high level and not in data so for example. One of my dreams is to start a youtube channel so i have allocated time in march to start on that not in detail. Talia not sure what i'm gonna do and it's not by day is just much is allocated for that number seven. I ultimate map out six days habit challenges throughout the year. This is something i do. This is the first. I'm actually planet out properly for the are. But i love doing challenges and it takes about sixty six days to create a habit so i removed something or add something. I'm doing a challenge right now with some of you. That might be listening in a facebook group. That was this a bonus when you joined my digital. Kohl's i'm currently. I'm doing meditation by dr joe dispenser every morning for sixty six days and up and out the next one which will be a health challenge. I'm doing a health. Course so i will do something daily to support that. I map it out this year. Because i want to prepare for it research thunder on about it and If i do something for example for meditation etc might be rating by up to joe's books etc so Mapping it out. So that's what i've done for this year number eight once. I got all the dates on my wall counter. I review it and make sure it's terrible. Sometimes i have been squeezing in a little bit too much in a year. Which means that you know. The plan doesn't work but this year is taking much better. As i will not be traveling as much one some really clear of the view and making sure it's balanced and works for me than put it all in my diary number nine. I also brainstorm all the things that are important to me each of my values so for example one of my highest value is personal grows. So i have a list of books and podcasts. I want to radio. Listen to during the year that i want to read or listen to during the other values are health and families are heavily for that as well and a book that in again all in high level i also like to have themes for each month so for example generate is for me is about health he says where i read and go deeper in my knowledge of health so having a different themes just just helps may prioritize things that are important to me number ten once done all that i saw planning immortals for the first quarter so i break up my dreams in a plan. What actions are need to do to make it all happen. I also added all into my diary. And i will do a separate podcast for more details. How our plan makoto. My months my breaks and my days. I love planning so this is something i really enjoy doing and i to anew things to make it better and i always love hearing what other people are doing so if you are in the dream live podcast facebook group and if you want i have added a link. "Do things both enjoy the same time and then the next category is about me and health and in this category i added all things that is important to me and things that i know that i really need when i have a lot of things going on. So that to me maine's a lot of may time. I really need a lot of space and a lot of time for me. So that means exercise yoga meditation. I really love to get up early and have my morning ritual and spend time woking in nature in them also eating well i love learning assad will continue doing course saddam currently doing and i also will make sure that i have time to to rate and relax so i think it's really important when we have a lot going on that we do not skip looking after ourselves and our health. Whatever that is for you. Some people love the festive season. And i did too but my absolutely favorite time of the year is between christmas and new year as the work. I do is always quite hectic just before christmas. So i love the days between christmas and new year to catch up and braid and also plan for the new year allow planning for new and fresh year and always plan to make the coming up the best year so on the twenty sixth of december. This is day where i will spend the day at home doing barely full and i don't feel any guilt about that Added that here. As i often hear that some of you can't do a day like this because you feel guilty. We'll get to the why. I think it's important and i. Why don't feel guilty in a second but before i do i will explain why loved so much. So on the twenty six i get up early as such a slob. That a love starting my day before everyone else is up. I love seeing the sunrise and a love to walk before the world wakes up a connected. Nature always feel so great after my morning. Walk when i get back. I will make a family breakfast and connect with the family. Onc- system. I will pack myself on the couch for the day. I wish for books and cookbooks for christmas. So i will indulge in rating looking at inspiring cowpokes. Food store is a beautiful photography. Voice in spies may not necessary to cook more which is a bit strange. But i know. I'm not alone in loving the cookbooks for me is about being inspired and being creative about actually having to do anything so on the couch i will also have my journal my own book your dream that starts here on my own legos with it and i will do some dreaming and planning for the year ahead. By the end of the day. I would be pretty clear on my plans for making two thousand and twenty one the best year yet. But i haven't never day like this on newsday and some of you might think that's crazy getting up early on the day that s. I don't drink. I don't wake up with a hangover. And i'm up early to see the sunrise welcoming the new year in nature. Yes i know that sounds boring for some of you but a dream life is different to all of us but a time. New year's day is over. I will have set my plans for the year. And what i need to do to make my dreams goals happen for the year ahead so i know this is not always easy to create days like this. You may have young children or extended family. We sitting or you may be working. You don't need a whole day to do these days. Because this is what i love but spending a couple of hours between christmas and new year is a great investment to start a new yet the best possible way and i wanna talk quickly about the guilt so when we take time for ourselves we are able to give so much more to others so i think especially when you have young kids you have extended family be sitting staying with your perhaps or you have a job that requires a lot of you. I think it's more important than ever to look after selves. So we can give more so. I don't feel guilty about that. Because i know that if i get that time for me i will baby to give more to others so if you are not sure what to do or where to start. Please join me. "More people just like you may need some inspiration till if they dream live so thank you. I just wanted to start without. Because i truly am so grateful to read it. So let's get in to this episode. This time of year without fail. I reflect over the past year and look what worked. And what didn't i love this process as it means that i have a chance to make sure i don't reduce some of the things that didn't work but i think this year all of us had a pretty challenging year one way or other so i highly recommend that you are doing this exercise. I'm about to share with you. I have created a free. Pdf that has all exercises. I'm about to share with you. So you can download that. So if you can't do it now listen to it anyway as it might get you thinking about some of the things that i'm going to share and then actually put pen to paper and do these exercise at the latest age when it's actually possible for you to do that a highly recommend that you don't scape putting pen to paper i it's such a lovely process and secondly it will really help you when you're sitting your goals or working out what dreams to work on for next year so it's really lovely exercise to do when you get a moment to do so some of you may have done these before with may but this year due to the challenging year i have added a couple of questions that i think would be helpful terrific on even though most of us had a challenging. Yeah they're always silver linings in everything and for some of us who have been in lockdown lots or perhaps las businesses or jobs they will be some silver linings in there even if you haven't found them yet and without doubt every year i learned so much by doing these exercises and i really hope you will as well looking back and reflecting on the an how far we have come is really really powerful and there are some research that says that people who reflect are happier and more productive and i have a feeling we all want to be a little more productive and happier this year so before we get into the questions i do yearly. Let's focus first on questions specifically for the challenging two thousand and twenty a very different year for most of us so number one. What was the low lights of courage but was it that really brought you down. And what was it that really affected you in a negative way and number two. What was the highlight of covid. And some of you think that that might be crazy question. But i have no doubt that there would be some things in there. That actually was a highlight. We got together as families more. We got to spend more time together and maybe even got to spend some time On our own as well and the must be some highlights in there so stop thinking about them and start writing them down. What do you want to leave behind that. You used to do before covid so having on through what we have gone through. We learned a lot what not to do and what to do so. Reflect on that and see if there is something you want to leave behind. They used to do before carpet and the next version is what you want to have more of that. You had your in kobe or lockdown out of the highlights. What you actually want to continue in your life ended could begin spending more time on your own or spending more time with family or slow down a little. I think a lot of people that aspect to love that kind of slow pace a sometimes hot new have a lot on so reflect on that and write down. Whatever it feels right for you. One thing that i am taking with me for outside of covid when that is i started to walk much more like not just like for for exercise but i walked everywhere. I hardly used my car. So definite want continue that. Do more walking meetings. I want him do more catch up on foot to go for a walk instead of meeting for a drink or coffee and i definitely do more phone calls during walking rather than sitting down. I did a lot of walking before. Covid but i definitely took walking to another level For the last leah. So that's one thing that i definitely want to continue on with may as the new yet. This one of my favorite courts by aristotle knowing yourself is to beginning of all wisdom the more self awareness you have and the more you know yourself more. You're able to understand why you make certain decisions why you form certain habits and importantly what makes you feel your best. If you know those things you can learn what you need to make time for and how to live your best life. Whatever that is for your self awareness is about being on with yourself looking at your life without judgment. It's about understanding what your strengths and weaknesses are at any given point in your life. What influences your decisions and whether attitude and mindset is serving you or holding you back. It's also about understanding two choices. You make without feeling guilty or ashamed if you fall short of your ideal and we all do that of course you might find is process looking deep into yourself a little confronting and challenging about is a good thing when you're out of your comfort zone you know you are growing pessimism stick with me here trust me. It's worth doing this well. I have a dream that i never want to live the same year twice. I always want to add something different to the new year ahead. This makes me carefully. Look through my list of dreams. Each year unintentionally choose to focus on adding something new to my life. I love thinking and pondering what this can be as. I reflect on where i am in life at my annual checking. When i do these exercise i always have my previous journals and my dire handing or you might want to have your phone handy as well to glance through and remind yourself just how much you managed to squeeze in over the proceeding. Yeah it's a beautiful field. Good exercise and something always looking for two and another thing that i always do a Look at my instagram. So have to defend. Serve graham accounts. And i look at birth because one is private in family things one as my at official one and a look at birth because i often captured the small moments dad that i love to back on so that might be something you wanna do as well so we go. Here are the questions that i do every year. And it's really fun to look back as while on the previous year because it makes you realize how much you grow on how things are changing. The first one to think about is ten wonderful things that happen in the last twelve months. Some of you might find that a bit challenging because there might not have been a lot of wonderful things but really dig deep here and think about those little things that it makes life really wonderful so this could be for may always includes spending time on my own in nature a love getting up at five. Am and walk through the cd with no one being around or walking along the beach or spending time in nature of whatever those things off you what are ten wonderful things that happen to you in the last twelve months five things. I'm most proud of from the last twelve months and again there were definitely things that you can feel. Really proud of. One thing is definitely how we manage to get through what we're getting through right now so so take some time to think about what you are really proud of. From the last month's five lessons. I learned in the last twelve months without that will be lots of lessons learned and i love reflecting on that because sarah always so much we learn and i think if we stopped being aware what we learned. We are more likely to learn even more so it's a good vantage Don find things. I want to solve or not at all in the next twelve months. I think we all have a few things we wanna do. Lisov or maybe not at all and these could be things that are have been really challenging or a. Maybe some people that you don't want to take with you in the next year. It could be things that make you feel great five things. I want to do more of it. The next twelve months and again look at all the positive things that happened in the last twelve months or the benefits that you just wrote on the other foot specifically for kobe. What are those things that you want to do. More of in the next twelve months and for me as i said before a definitely want to do more walking i want to do things really slow. Set at something that i want to do in the next twelve months to take a lot of tom. Really think gang embracing and creating things that i know will make a difference in the world far things. I'm grateful for the last twelve months. You can find definitely more than five but stopped with that. I love thinking ungrateful forward. And it's a habit of mine. I think about it every single morning. But it's a really fun thing to if you're just gonna take five for the last twelve months. What ave and write them down find. Great decisions are made. In last month's that could be some decisions that you might have done. That didn't have the outcome. You wanted or had a negative impact that the peace and good decisions. You ended up by you today so whatever they offer you what the five greatest that you made in the last twelve months and allowed these fun. If i could leave the last month's again bought would you change and why and this is a really good on them. I actually spent some time learned over the weekend and disaster. And i love thinking about only so he could leave the last four months again that will be pace for. May that will things. I would have done differently but again there is no regrets is just really reflecting to make sure that we don't get into a new fresh lia when we have options to take something out and also to add then the next exercise is really great to do. It's about reflecting high-level on on the following areas. And i'm just about to read out and give yourself a rating out of ten for h. Is being completely satisfied with my life in this area and one being. I'm completely satisfied with my life in this area so the area off you'll love you to rate yourself on and doug thing to just whatever comes to mind. I think this career finance. Where are you in that education and learning health wellness and fitness family and relationships home spirituality end or a sense of purpose travel and experiences hobbies and fun community and environment survived town where you think you are right now. Owners areas from one to ten. And then the next step on those areas is to indicate where you would like to get to for each category and these could be just what you wanna get to in the next twelve months and you may set the bar higher or lower or even leave it exactly where these and again just remind these a high level exercise to get your thinking a maria big believer in the fact that you actually do anything in life if you are willing to do the work to make it happen but just not everything at the same time you know some of you might wanna cut back on certain things and go really surf. You starting a business. You might wanna really focus on that but you know maybe fans will social community might take a step back so work at what is right for you so spent some time to reflect on this chart and see what is telling you. Does it reveal anything. About what your priorities should be for the next twelve months and taken How'd you to reflect complete this exercise every twelve months so put a reminder and again this is something. Do any early and Something that i often booking twelve months in advance. And i go away and do it so if you can amazing if you can't just sometime in a cafe or lock yourself in the bedroom to do these exercise. It's a really beautiful exercise to do so. I hope you are able to take something away from these episode again if you can't do. The exercises volume listing the first time. It's perfectly fine but do take some time to release into a pep some of the weekend when you got some time to do it. Properly again printshop. "I'm left to me is when your values and your passions and your purpose are all aligned with your dreams and for me a dream life is when you just cannot wait to get up in the morning and start working on your dreams and what you do for work and what your passions are are all aligned. I know not everyone will agree with this but this is what's really really true Faith me when it comes to creating my own dream life and I often get comments that I work all the time. And yes that may be the case because what I love doing in my free time in line with what I do for work, one of my highest value is personal growth and I'm constantly trying new things to improve my dream life and when I find things that works for me a log sharing it here on my podcast and in my community and through all the products that we create @kiki k I love that and I cannot wait to get started in the morning. And that is such an amazing feeling to absolutely love what you do all the time. That doesn't mean though that my life is perfect in any way when you have your own business or Euro working for someone there are always challenges to overcome and it's the same in my personal life. There is always something that I'm working on to improve or change or find new ways. It's never perfect and it never will be but for me, I'm always aiming to improve to learn to try new things while I'm always incredibly grateful for all that. I have at the same time every morning I go for a walk or a run and I often pinch myself that I get to do what I love and then I have worked out what my dream life means took me and I really want that for you to that is why one of my dreams now are to inspire 101 million people to write down three dreams and go and chase them and the reason I am That is because I meet so many people who are not living their dream life. And I think sometimes we are just too busy with everyday life and I'm sure you can relate to that that we don't take the time to think about what I'll dream life could look like and actually believe that we if we and I truly believe that if we all live our dream lives, you will inspire the people around you and that way to ripple effect and inspired them to live their dream life and buy that we will create a better world a dream life is when you get to the end of your life and you know that you did whatever you could do to make your dreams come true and you lived a life that was true to yourself not to anyone else. So if you are not living your dream life yet take some time to think about that before this year round and soft a new year working on your dream life. Whatever that is for you. And when I talk about a dream life, it doesn't have to be a big life it is whatever connects with your heart. So, yep. Doesn't mean you have to go out and start your own business or take your career to the next level or do more. It could mean the opposite and actually do less work less take more time for you and your loved ones whatever that is for you. So there is no right and wrong in creating your dream life. "This doesn't mean you have to be with physical people. It can be thought leaders online. It can be authors entrepreneurs whatever or whoever inspires you. I also don't watch the news and that really helps keeping me in a really good state of mind and being surrounded by inspiring people makes a massive difference number eleven I realized I cannot change the past. I know there is no news in. But instead of overthinking what could have done differently, I decided to rethink my future and what I could do differently in the future. It is, of course easier said than done. But as with everything, it gets easier with practice number twelve. Last one regardless of what you do have done or going to do people will always have their own opinions and you cannot control what they think. I know we all know that. But during the challenge in terms, it was good to be reminded of that. You cannot control what other people think. So I decided to focus on what I can control. That wasn't so easy as there were days I didn't really feel up in inspiring but the work and thinking ahead to do to put intimate labs before doing them got mean spied and then knew that there was so many people out there dealing with much much much worse circumstances than me. So if I could inspire others, I knew that would help May to it. Made me feel better I'm always inspired often do my lives seven, my fellow entrepreneur friend Danny he died in cancer a few years ago. That was such a shock to me and he was so full of live and had such a passion for life. So I kept thinking of manager in these challenging times and I knew he would have loved to be in my situation just to be here I have done on my vision board and it really reminds me the live can be short. Number aced being grateful. Day I thought of things that I was grateful for for things that we sometimes take for granted to have legs. So I can walk for Mother Nature for my family for coffee and offer for all the things that I got to experience the good and the bad having a gratitude journal is incredibly helpful been going through tough times number nine realizing that every situation we're in our fifty fifty, there are always something positive in each situation and always something negative. It's really helpful knowing that. So when you going through challenging time, there is always silver linings. Number hand. "Of your own, whatever that means for you. And I Really, really excited about being back to him podcast secondly while what a crazy time right now a hope you are all really well and safe in doing. Okay. We'd whatever you are dealing with right now. I'm not really sure where to start, but it's obviously been incredibly challenging for so many people with the covert and all complications with lockdown losing jobs and losing businesses. I have certainly had my share of challenges and today I. Thought I would share how managed to overcome my challenges. When we face tough times, no situation or circumstance is the same. I had never been through such a challenge before. So I, think the hardest while you are in it is that you actually don't know high will actually get through it or if you ever will. There were days I didn't want to get out of bed that would days that I couldn't even imagine ever being able to face the world again. But there were also days when I were gap feeling really really just grateful to be alive. So such mixed feelings. I, think going through a crisis or something difficult. It's like a grieving process. It is a process edge cannot hurry it up. I had a sticky note on my desk saying feel at all. It really reminded me. It was okay to feel it all and not trying to hide or musket. I had days when I was angry I had days when I cried all day. and. Then there were days I just really wanted them to be over. So I, can go back to bed and hoping that I would wake up the following day and feeling much better. But they would also days when I was feeling great thinking things were getting better off but then I was struggling again a really was coming and going one minute. I. Was Feeding Kate. And the Knicks not-so-good and the thing was a Accept it and I realized there was no point in being angry holding onto anger is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die. It's a great quote by Mark Twain. Patients in tough times is required while knowing that tough times never last but tough people do. I had that Court Vision Board I also realized that we sometimes think life should be perfect and we ask ourselves why is happening to me? But what if life isn't supposed to be perfect or even fail I remember my mentor Robin Sharma saying to me once never waste a good crisis. It's during the tough times that we grow. Maybe you can relate to this sometimes during the toughest Tom's maybe we lost someone maybe we got sick maybe we lost our jobs maybe we lost everything in all these situation there are silver linings, but it's really really hard to see the silver linings at the time, but we often see them after. Embraer, often grateful for the growth going through those tough times. So I thought I would share how I dealt with at all. I'm certainly not an expert in this, but I hope by sharing what I did that will be something in it for you the perhaps you can take comforting when you go through challenging time. After a couple of weeks of feeling really down I decided it was time to find a way to get through this. Against there is only so long you can be done. So, number one. I decided to get up four, forty, five each morning, and I often talk about that I'm an early riser but I decided that each morning without fail because it was really in these tough times to be motivated to get up. So I decided to get up four, forty, five, each morning we were in lockdown with. Kovin. So there was no really late nights no social, no travel. So there was no reason not to go to bed in time to make it up early. So I took my monthly Kiki Kate planner and I did A. Teak of boxing each day. So I could check it and made me accountable. I love taking off list when I got up, I did about an hour meditation another that's a long time for a lot of us but I decided that that was what I was going to do and I needed variety of Meditations by Dr Joe Dispenser When I was done with my meditation I did my three morning pages and I will do another episode specifically on my morning routines and what I do in detail, but basically, the morning pages is thinking paper. Of. Right. What ever comes to mind and it's a wonderful way to get things out of your head. It's something I've done a lot over the years and it's been so helpful and never saved the journal also, I can ride without limitations and I'm not worried about ray rating it later in life or someone else reading at once I was done with my writing I put on my runners and I went walking for about two hours each morning. This was possible because I'm no longer hedged drive to the office and we were in lockdown. So the kids who home schooling. I can't tell you how helpful nature fresh air and have time to think in the morning. It's been absolutely life changing for me. Sometimes of walked in silence but most of the time I was listening to an inspiring audio book or a great podcast. The combination of movement and inspiring learning is Kinda my pefect combination. A dealt with sadness disappointment, regret anger but also deep appreciation for just being alive knowing I can get through these and I was so inspired but books and podcasts that inspired me and often came back filling inspire to inspire others who UNU- had much much worse than I. Number two move daily. I already covered. They seen my morning start. At moment into my days than I normally would. I was in Mating Staley and I d them all by foot I had a little notebook and a pen with me and I. If I had to look at the screen I oversee stopped but I spend most of my meetings working and I started cooking up between twenty to thirty thousand steps. Pet Day I also started running I downloaded an APP called couch to ten K. and just decided to do it even if I didn't feel like doing it walking is my preference to running as I. Feel. I can focus more on the learning side when walking. And I also joined up with a few friends with an APP called social steps where you actually set your daily target. So I had that I wanted to least walk fifteen thousand steps a day we all set our individual goals, how many steps you want to do day, and then we encourage each other and some of us that are a little bit competitive like most of my friends are took this very seriously and it was so great and I had a lot of fun doing these challenging Tom Encouraging up each other to walk more number. I called my best friend daily. That was just the best to talk to my friend every single day and no I talk about all much L. Cher's over and over an opposite down since she was always there for me. We're also learning new things together that we shared on our daily phone call. So it's really really valuable and we often laugh saying. We was to have so many challenges to learn from and to grow from. We both knew that this will pass and we'll get through. It's stronger than ever. But having a friend to cold when you grow through tough times is really really important. Number. Four I really looked at all my dreams some our dreams were no longer the same I'm sure a lot of you can relate to that due to what's happening in the world but this is of course to any time. I. Now live when various change and we are constantly changing. So I started to ask myself what is next for me Can these tough Tom, benefit May and create new dreams and new opportunities I. started to ask myself. But would I do if I couldn't fail What would I do if I had all the money, the resources and the knowledge to do whatever I wanted to do in my lifetime? What would that be? When I was starting to put an Eugene some paper I really got excited again. It didn't may not state excited the whole time. May had my ups and downs that my new dream Scott makes cited to get up in the morning haven't cleared dreams and goals is really really important. Number five. journaling I did a lot of John Length as mentioned earlier Adi morning pages. But also took time to brought in my journal things that I wanted to work on I added inspiring quotes and learnings from the podcast and the books that I read. A Journal about my dreams daily and I did a lot of thinking of paper I kept asking myself who do I need to become to achieve new dreams?.
