NYC Councilman Joe Borelli: Kristin Richardson Jordan Is a Disgrace

"'cause I had to ask you about the city council member from Harlem. This Harlem councilwoman is Kristen Richardson Johnson. She tweeted out, sympathy for the relatives the families of both the NYPD officers Jason Rivera and wilbert Mora and the killer. This woman literally we know she's against the police. She's said many times before we got a strip funding from the police, their white supremacists and all the garbage that these lunatics on the left say about our police, but she had the audacity councilman borelli to tweet out sympathies and condolences to the families of the family of this monster. I got to get your take on this councilman. Mike, she's an absolute disgrace. I mean, she is someone who doesn't deserve to be in office. She's someone who doesn't deserve to represent a vibrant and historic community like Harlem, frankly, people who live in her district deserve better. And unfortunately, the voters are stuck with her, at least for the next two years before they can find somebody else. You know, Mike, we have a lot of people in the city council and city government here who are African American who are Democrats who I disagree with all the time. But are fundamentally decent people and when two police officers were murdered serving this city, they all found somehow that the strength to say kind things and supportive things about the men and women of law enforcement. It's almost it's almost like being on Mars to find someone who just can't find kind and comforting words to mention two police officers who are killed in her own district. I mean, police officer Rivera was probably her constituent that the guy lived just a mile or even less from where he was killed. This is a member of her community.

How President Biden Has Failed on Every Front

"Kristen, it's not news, but maybe somebody on the left will finally figure out Kristen sinema said yesterday on the floor of the Senate. I'm not changing my mind. Joe Manchin said yesterday, I'm not changing my mind. And kyrsten sinema has not said one thing differently from the beginning. She said I'm not breaking the filibuster. Joe Manchin has said one thing from the beginning I'm not breaking the filibuster. This is a deeply embarrassing end of the theater politics. We've had while the country gets consumed by a ruinous inflation, as Ukraine prepares to be invaded by Russia and China is taking over the South China Sea and is unleashed this vaccine is virus as the Biden administration has stumbled from face plant to face plant. People think they're main tweets are gone. Just remember that, mean tweets are gone. You got your deal. Inflation collapse abroad, Iran back threatening Americans about to have nuclear breakout, NATO and collapse, the economy in the tank interest rates rising rapidly, but don't worry about it, mean tweets are gone.

"When you think about the likes of Pelosi and Biden and Schumer and Harris and all of them, trying to effectively take over our government, right, by getting rid of the filibuster. Something that, by the way, they've used in the past. So I'm not sure what this really gains them ultimately unless they can really and truly take over the way they want to. And that's what this strikes me as. I mean, they go on and on and on about what the right is doing and how the right is trying to take over and they're using social media to do. I'm sorry, but what do you think you guys are doing? With this whole filibuster nonsense. Again, I want to credit Joe Manchin Kristen sinema for actually being the adults in the room saying, wait a second. This isn't healthy for the country. It's not. And it needs to stop.

Joe Biden's Latest Voting Rights Speech Reeks of Obama

"When Biden went to Georgia and gave this divisive hateful mean spirited, I mean, even Democrats were like, you went a little too far, speech, on voting rights where he began to compare his critics, and I think he's referring here even to Kristen sinema and Joe Manchin. They are segregationists. They're in the George Wallace tradition. I mean, I was thinking to myself, this is this speech has all the fingerprints of Obama. Where is Obama? Did Obama kind of write this speech or inspired or whether the Obama gang that concocted it? And then sure enough, like a nasty itch, Obama is right back in the news, echoing Biden. Now he's doing it in his normal Obama way. Remember Obama's way is mean spiritedness drives the whole thing, but it has a certain rhetorical camouflage and you can almost visually see it in Obama. He always strikes the same I've now find it somewhat comic, but it has a certain it's like um, and he looks left. He looks to the right, and he kind of sticks his nose up in the air as if he's about to say something profound. Now, what he says is inevitably but now, but nevertheless, this is the Obama, the recognizable Obama style. It has all the signature Obama phrases. The world and future generations will be watching. First of all, the world doesn't watch anything. Second of all, future generations aren't alive. They're not going to be watching. But this is just that kind of grandiose rhetoric. And Obama, of course, again, a lot of these phrases are democracy isn't a given. Well, it was given to us by the family. It isn't a given. It is in self executing. We have to work at it. And then of course he gets to the main point, he goes, essentially, his point is to attack the voter integrity laws. That's what he's

Can the Democrats Raise the Debt Limit Without Republican Help?

"Good morning The newspapers are full of contrived. Drama will the government shutdown. Will the stimulus bill passed will the three and a half trillion dollar social infrastructure. Bill passed what will happen to the squad. What about kristen cinema. What about joe manchin. Here's what my prediction is. Everything passes and they spend all the money after pretend drama. What do you think. Well if i had to guess from the outside and you don't really know I mean the best. Intel's the people managing the with news. Obviously and it's possible they don't know but my guess is immigrants are are not gonna leave that that One point two trillion infrastructure money on the table that they'll pass that at some point. You have always been skeptical that they could get another big reconciliation bill through the senate I don't i don't. I don't think it's just mansion. I think there's a half of those democrats who would prefer not to vote on something particular tax increases but we will see They're going to have. Typically i think getting the debt limit increase eventually seneca Because schumer did not put the instructions for one in the last budget resolution and So far saying i'm not gonna finance you know your deficit spending. They gotta go back to you on the budget committee. Jim where you're on your budget committee. I always avoided that. Well i think they've got to go back and amend the budget resolution reconciliation instructions. It takes two weeks. They better get started exactly. And that's the point and mcconnell's been saying this for months. He's the best republican wiedersen dole. In my opinion. I mean yeah. He's just and he's been saying for months. Look we're not gonna finance this enormous deficit spending. You're going to have to do it. And yet schumer did not put the instructions in the last budget resolution. So you're right. It takes a couple of weeks and I know that schumer is really faced up to that. Yes i think. I fought for months us. At the infrastructure bill would eventually passed. The house would take what the senate gives just as they did in two thousand nine. This is going to the house and not just because the progressives don't like it's not big enough it's going to sit there in the house and have the senate serve you a bill and say no. We're not going to conference. This is our bill. You taken a leave but they all passed macaire on that basis. I think they'll pass the bill. That's my guess

"So kristen eck. We've got to start the story in january of this year at dan campbell's introductory press conference. I wanted this job bad. Because i felt like i knew this community i played here all right on. Everything's seemingly normal and then things get a bit more interesting. I can sit up here and give you coach. Speak all day long. I can give you You know. Hey we're gonna win this many game. I can't that none of that matters in you. Guys don't want to hear it anyway. You've had enough of that shit. So excuse my language then. He drops his magnum opus. So this is going to be built on. We're gonna kick you in the teeth all right and when you punch us back. We're going to smile at you and when you knock us down we're going to get up and on the way up we're going to buy to kneecap off all right and we're going to stand up and then it's going to take two more shots you cover the team for the athletic. What was your reaction to this. I mean i think like everyone else. I was sort of just in shock for a few minutes. Just trying to figure out where he was going with everything but as we'll talk about. I'm sure that was very much dan campbell. I think the people who know him weren't all that surprised to hear that speech from him. It was funny to hear you know brad. Homes in new. General manager was introduced at the same time and he said several times since. I'm glad i got to go first. Because i don't think i could follow that up but i i think that that's you know that's what you get from dan campbell and i think that's what they wanted from dan campbell. They wanted some energy and some authenticity. And i think the fan base really responded to it. I don't know how the players necessarily took it or people in the general public but for this particular fan base. I think it went over pretty well. Neko ear thoughts when you heard it a big pro wrestling fan l. admission here and that's what that was a professional wrestling promo is having talked to him since talking all these guys for the story like he didn't planet it wasn't scripted. It was something that he said and you can kind of tell because he when he said the kneecaps thing he did it like exclaim it he just sort of set it like the most nonchalantly normal way is like to. We're going to play when your kneecaps off. And then he just kept going to the next point. It's like this is just what this guy. This is off the cuff. You could kind tell. And i think that there was a lot of authenticity with that

Kristen Bell and Jackie Tohn Discuss Their Amazon Prime Preschool Series Do, Re & Mi

"I'm so excited to talk about how this even relate to your show because one of the probably most popular videos on my instagram actually has to do with when our kids are in really tricky moments. How everyone's like. Well what do i say. What do i do. And they feel are tone and are kind of connection and even they feel song way before they process words that we have to get their body back to a place of feeling safe. So i i always end up making up songs with my own kids and that idea for parents have. Oh i don't need to get the script right but maybe even song can help me. Regulate itself is is so powerful knocking off out there. I mean that was the impetus for this show is knowing how important music is. It's the reason why we all know. What baby mozart is. Why they say oh. Put it on your belly. It in music changes. Your brain can put you in a different mood. It can grow the neuro plasticity of your brain like there are studies that tell us that kids get better at math than that. Their social skills when they're exposed to music music education the goal. Jackie had this idea with our friend. Michael they brought it over to my living room as a guinea pig. Tester for my kids. Like hey. They looked at my little girl. They were like you like these images. You respond to these songs. And i said what are you doing. They were like well. We're trying to develop a kids show because music. Education is being cut in all public schools right now and my kids go to public school and i was like i. I want them to get as much music education as possible. Because i wouldn't be here without a music. Education sincerely would not have become an actor. It's how i discovered acting. And i have such a profound respect for it and developing the show. It's jackie labels it a sneak. Teach which i love that term. It's an original animated series in. It's it's entertaining but it's also teaching your kids music theory and emotional lesson a musical genre. All in one and like some of my greatest mom moments are when like my kids are begging us. My phone and i need to succumb to that. But i've found a puzzle game where they have to spell and i handed to them with like a sly smile face knowing they're getting educated and the apps that go along with dorian me will be that because they will be able to make music and they will be growing their brains which is really

Kristen Stewart Talks About the 'Spooky, Spirtual Feelings' She Sensed While Playing Princess Diana

"Kristen. stewart is already receiving tons of praise for her portrayal of princess. Diana and spencer but it sounds like it wasn't an easy role to take on. She told the la times quote. It's scary to tell a story about someone who's not alive anymore and who already felt so invaded. I never wanted to feel like we were invading anything just that we were kind of adding to the multiplicity of a beautiful thing. Kristen also revealed that there were times when she felt she got a sort of quote sign off from diana saying quote. I felt some spooky spiritual feelings making this movie. Even if i was just fantasizing i mean i think this just speaks to the real challenge of telling diana's story which is a story all about like the media and the paparazzi and the entertainment industry like really destroying her. And you can make that movie but you can never separate the fact that you are the media and the entertainment industry making that story. You know. I know yeah. There's definitely layers going on there. I also want to. Because i was confused. I just wanna make sure everyone's on the same page right now just so everyone knows. This is a psychological drama. This is not bio-pic. They see raise a psychological drama. And so i don't know this is things are gonna get heavy. It's made by the same director. Who made jackie is that right. Yeah and that movie if you haven't seen it it's not like a biographical retelling of jackie o's life it's very much like a story about inner demons and struggles yet and i'm pretty sure this one takes over the span of like three days during christmas time or something like that when she's like deciding she wants to end her marriage so it's a very specific and short time in her life so it's going to be very concentrated and i am beyond excited because it's it really. I was nervous when they said kristen stewart was gonna be playing her you immediately. Just think of twilight but listen. She's done her homework. She's done a research. He's got the people to help our and she's there. Oh yeah i mean. This movie was basically like genetically engineered in a lab to win oscars yet. And i'm so fucking

Best Practices for Growing Your Audience with Facebook's Kristen Freethy

"It's important to remember that facebook and instagram opera. Many different approaches to growing your fan base and increasing engagement. I often get asked. How much did i be posting. What types of content. Should i be posting so i want to dive into the best ways to take one piece of content and stretched across all of our features. So i you're probably wondering where should my podcast live. The great thing is is that business completely up to you. We highly recommend leaning in creating a dedicated show page. This will help with certain discovery as the product evolves. Keep in mind though. That pages looking to host podcast. Do you have to be ninety days old to start that process sooner than later. If you haven't established host or network page those are still great options to lean into the following best practices. Keep in mind that one podcast can only live on one single page but one facebook page can have multiple podcasts. If you are a network you can have your full catalog living on your page so understanding your listeners is key to knowing when to post and what type of content to lead into. Oftentimes podcasters will make the mistake to focus on only the top and bottom of this funnel trying not to treat base bekker's purely a promotional vehicle instead bring people along for the ride create posts that asked people questions look s. You wanna hear from next. What topics are you most interested in. What surprise you in the last episode What did you like the best. The more you get people leaning in and engaging with your content the more chances other listeners will discover content. There are a few types of content that we've seen work the best for podcasters lean into facebook and feed to hit posts around your research in preparation as well short highlights or audio clips of your episode. I'd recommend aiming between thirty seconds and three minute long three minutes long for any video or audio clips that you post reels in stories are great for behind the scenes moments and quick. Quick touch points. Remind your fans of a new episode dropping or a special announcement coming up

Dr. Kristen Neff on the Interplay Between Personal Work and Collective Work in Meditation

"One of the things i noticed in this book was the interplay between personal work and collective work and i think that sometimes that gets lost within just meditation practice. It seem so solitary. You're doing it for the most part in your house by yourself on your own cushion for yourself except that it's not actually for yourself and so how does that interplay show up three. Oh yeah we'll so you know if you come from a perspective that in for me it does come from a buddhist perspective. But it isn't be buddhist if he come from a perspective where you see yourself as a larger interdependent all right then this idea that what we do only if excess or the you know we just turn inward and not outward or we outward tonight inward none of that makes sense right when you when you change your mindset so that you realize for all part of a larger hold then of course you know we. We have the wisdom to know that what we cultivate inside impacts people outside and vice versa. I that wisdom of inter connection is really key to self compassion or compassion for others. In fact this is what differentiates compassion from assessors. Pity feeling sorry for with is not the understanding of common humanity interconnection and which is essential for compassion

"Keep our food cool but they can warm. The climate are refrigerators. Can contain very potent greenhouse. Gases called hydrofluorocarbons or. Hfc's for short and these hfc's are often thousands of times more potent than co two when it comes to warming the globe. That's kristen to donio of the institute for governance and sustainable development and environmental group. She's has hfc's are in the coolant and insulation. Used in many refrigerators. They're not a problem at the fridge is working well but at the fridge is not recycled properly. The hfc's can escape into the atmosphere. The environmental protection agency has moved to phase down the manufacturer an import of. Hfc's by twenty thirty six but in the meantime very important that when we are by new refrigerators or recycling. Our old refrigerators that we do that responsibly. The sea appeared already designated January 18th as the makeup date for the championship game. But moving the game is pretty close to the last thing that anybody wants to do. That's a given. Then again if Ohio State is in fact potentially without an entire position group. How do you just ignore that? How do you just plow ahead and play that game if they're missing an entire position group? So nothing has been moved yet. The Buckeyes did practice yesterday and Ohio State 80 Jean Smith told Dennis Dodd quote We continue to follow the same protocol is as we have all season. Our intent is to play January 11 end quote. All right, So that said that is not stopped. The lava and the red hot takes from pouring in. And the conspiracy theory among some Alabama fans is that the Buckeyes are faking. They're faking the covert situation in order to buy time for Buckeye quarterback Justin Fields so he can recover from that injury that he suffered against Clemson. Wait. I'm sorry. Did I say Alabama fans? I met Nick Savings daughter. Yeah, That's right, Kristen Saving Cetus. She hopped on Twitter yesterday, and she thumbed out this molten lava quote. If you're not confident to play, then say it. I call Bs on the covert cases. They're just worried about their QB and want him down more time to heal. If he's hurt, put in your back up. You didn't see us postpone the rest of the season toe wait for water all by And a tweet. Mean Hoid crap, Kristen there takes And then there's that Take. I'm not sure what's more wild the take itself for the fact that it came from Nick Saban's daughter. You're kidding me about that. Normally, I would say the kids are off limits on this show, like we always crack who deserves to get cracked, But kids generally do not deserve to get cracked. Because they're kids. Christians. No kid now a daughter. Yes, but not a kid. She's 24 years old. She's not some youngster who somehow grabbed Pops blower jumped on Twitter and look to get loose. She's old enough to know better, and her old man has been banging on about this very thing for years, which makes it even more insane. I mean of all people. How is Nick Saban's next of kin? Not aware of the dangers and pitfalls of social media? Her Pops never says anything about anything. Unless it's to complain about Alabama students leaving blowouts early, or members of the media asking slightly challenging questions. And yet his daughter is the one blowing up Twitter with some kind of heat. I mean, when he heard that When the old man heard that he probably spit his little Debbie oatmeal cream pie all over his TV while watching the Weather Channel. Can you imagine all the time that saving is spent talking to his players and coaching about never, ever ever say anything about anything and whatever you do, avoid the rat poison. Only to have his own daughter order a truckload of rat poison. And for no reason, right? It wasn't like somebody reached out to her to get her reaction to a potential covert outbreak in Ohio State when she just fired it off. Nobody asked her Nobody wanted her take. She just went with it. And let's be clear about something else. Just because it's a hot take does not mean it's a good take. In fact, it's a terrible take. It's one of the whack is takes ever. I can't believe that we're still having this conversation. We're in the middle of a pandemic. If you tweet anything that ever includes the phrase quote I call Bs on the cove in cases. Then you've gone full dope. Anything that involves somebody calling Bs on the covert cases is gonna be flat out moronic. In case you haven't noticed. No matter what you think, no matter what you believe, let me give you a factor, too. There are thousands of people dying every single day from Cove ID and you're acting like this is something that a football team would use as an excuse to postpone a game. I mean, really? How does your brain go to that point? And then How does this say? Hey, you know what? This is a smart take. And it's true and I need to tweet this out. So the entire world can see it. I mean, are you seriously suggesting that Ohio State would fake would fake Ah covert outbreak to get the game delayed? We're in your head is an idea like that pop up Who the hell thinks something like that much less rushes to their blower to thumb it out for the world to see Ohio State has had covert issues all your long. This is nothing new. And just as I said, when Michigan had their outbreak before the Ohio State game, I highly highly highly doubt anybody is going to fake a viral outbreak to get out of playing a football game, much less get out of playing the national championship game..

Then try techniques to say Okay, you're going to blame. May I'm going to come in and clean it up. Well, you know, look. Ah and TIFA is funded by somebody. And I've about had it. With William Barr and our Department of Justice. Not doing one thing. I'm sick of it. I've had it. You know if this was the right doing something crazy, these people would have been locked up their assets would have been frozen. They would have already traced the trail and frozen those people's assets. Something would've been done. They bring justice very quickly. On the other side, we sit around and let this happen. I've had it. You know, either do something about it. How political. Of course, it's all political. But you know what? It's criminal. You can't have criminals being political Sorry. You know, you know it is, but the figuring, okay? The Democrats. Grew up and people are going to get the stuff. And when from Chile elected. I really hope you guys have been cleaned count because Man. There's no reason for them to be upset with him bringing in federal marshal. Yes, between Democratic hitting the way I agree with you. The way this is perceived is it's not perceived as the Democrats. It's perceived as Oh, Donald Trump. Look, people are so upset with him. We've got to get him out of there. Then the country will settle down, you know? Something needs to be done. George Soros, all of his assets should have been frozen the day the president took over the office. I'm very disappointed in him for not going after George Soros. They have the evidence off what he did in Ukraine alone. And they've done nothing. I blame them. Go ahead. Geoff Fashion In 2017. Declare anti terrorist organization. No President Trump has said that he's going to declare Antifa terrorist organization hasn't happened yet. I'm still waiting for that news to break. You got to do this stuff. Don't just talk about it, do it. This is the problem. We have no will We're scared to death of being called everything in the book. We don't take the moves we need to take and were accused of doing it anyway. Someone has to have a spine out there. Thank you so much. Tina for calling. I really appreciate this is Alabama's morning. Oops. I don't know how to work the phone system. So David is going to have to bear with me. This is how Obama's morning news. It is 7 48 and, Yeah, I mean, This is what's happening. This is going to continue to happen. We've got some more phone calls to hang on, Guys. I'll get right, Tio, We're goingto take a very quick break. Then come back and talk about how in the world, Uh President Trump is going to get through this postal service thing. It's insane, and also there's a Crimson Tide player. He's pretty upset with what he saw yesterday in Tuscaloosa, and he went on Twitter to talk about it. Also, Kristen Saving reacts to it. All that and more coming up. This is Alabama's morning news. "Slash professional lotus lend in Germany of course also warning that provisions for credit losses will significantly increase this year that is the theme across banks ordered this morning extra loan loss provisions yeah it's fascinating actually do which about because it was very much seat is that the sick person if you like in banking terms for a little while it does seem to be a bit of a turn around I mean really gaining traction occur but yeah I mean this was a tenant oversee that Kristen saving brought in well it's last year it does seem to be beginning to bear fruit certainly the fixed income trading that saw eight seems to be doing well revenue up thirteen percent in the quarter but a lot of other banks benefited from the huge volatility I think the question is going to be about you know the full year twenty twenty yeah it's volatility against lotus now meets the loan provision they have to be careful with that going to be very careful with that potentially by eleven so I think it's a fascinating banking season anyway let's go on to looking at the way the virus he's working in Europe help governments are working against it effective for less effective ways depending on how you look at it will sweeten is a fascinating country in this regard the efforts have gone to international attention schools gyms cafes bars shops have stayed open throughout the spread last week the country's top epidemiologist at the statement said the strategy appeared to be working the rates affection should signs of leveling off however yes it neighboring Denmark and Norway but tougher restrictions imposed have been raw the local joining so very pleased to say now is not a hologram you Sweden's minister for health and social affairs minister welcome thank you so much for being with us very good morning to you if I may first let's start off with those numbers of deaths because Sweden has taken a different position but the numbers of deaths compared to Norway Denmark they all wrote a great set and considering their populations off Sweden's I mean it's an interesting moment yeah thank you interesting moment it's a very serious moment for us all to try to fight the virus we don't know everything about it nothing could impact to our our society it's not business we then had to stop with the figures and the death toll I think it's important to say that it's very difficult to compare with it between countries because when different shows this and also it's quite early to to really compare that and say something about that and do anything some conclusions about to have the right or wrong strategy but at we've been acting so far to do what we think is the right thing and then in the Swedish perspective and then taking consideration our natural circumstances but also to make sure that the measures we are taking the matter if they are legally bound in binding or if they have all the kids they have to be locked for a long time what will this is it I'm a sweet and it's been quite careful to say that that is social distancing going on at pains to say that life is not just continuing as normal but others see this as much softer suits of measures than we've seen in other countries how would you describe the measures that that you'll actually use it well for one and a half almost two months people above seventy have strong restrictions not to have been a social compact they are staying at home I hope they're getting some fresh air one to two times a day but but they're staying at home at a meeting with Trudeau grandchildren over up to secondary school students as well as the higher education is online and we have about thirty forty percent working on the distance and I'm trying to to make that work for a long time it's very fun show at will have some changes in our welfare system to make it possible for people to stay home from the very first day when they have the slightly symptom without losing their income and they don't have a doctor's certificate before two weeks so we think that is also one of the very important measure your bad two visits and the elder care home and you're bound to have any kind of public gatherings of more than fifty percent so that that is some of the restrictions if you have a restaurant a bar a cafe you have many restrictions on how to organize that and if you don't follow it you have to close and unfortunately some of the bars restaurants yeah but whatever they are they are closing because they don't have any customers people don't look at them so we have a legally binding measures as well as the voluntary recommendations combining with the people's responsibility for themselves and the others the minister you said a moment ago that it's perhaps too early to to measure the success of the ways in which you at other countries attempted to deal with this but you have to be dynamic in this because obviously is the evidence comes in you have to do the best for your people that's that's axiomatic in this right now the the World Health Organization is saying that the idea of herd immunity the idea that if you get the disease once survive the antibodies will be there in a way to make sure you don't get together to make it less likely the WHO's sake that is by far from proof that is not something necessarily country should realize it is time to change your policy but I don't have it thank you the court for reaching I guess you're you're thinking about the herd immunity but that is not the sweet distracted Dallas strategies to to make sure that where stopping the virus from being spread into the society we have now we have a situation mostly in Stockholm at the nearby regions and we're trying to really has prevented trump from becoming the same but in the whole country at because we also have to to insure that we have a healthcare system being able to cope with the one infected all we have available places and intensive care as well at the hospital bed at so that is that one thing which is very important to that it's also a measure if we're if we could handle the situation so just to point out really that we don't have this issue the staff he did say that we we are looking for her unity because you're absolutely right the W. H. O. R. correct and saying that there are no really confident the tech said showing that if you have the yeah if you are immune to the virus a minute someone to get back to the figures the Sweden according to Johns Hopkins data nineteen thousand six hundred confirmed cases two thousand three hundred fifty five deaths so you fall sadly compare that to Denmark and Norway where there have been fewer than five hundred deaths but you still characterize it as a success how would you describe it because that has been you know the issue what countries are trying to grapple with when they perhaps try to you know understand how well other countries are doing facing the virus I'm not using the word success really at because they're doing what we can to to handle the situation right here right now well we always prepared to to change to fine tune our measures to to make them more restricted if if necessary at but I think it's quite risky to compare just choose one or two other countries because we can we can compare with the with them and the other countries and we don't know anything about their situation but but the reason why they have the measures they have them but one of the very unfortunate things into them the fact that we have recorded nineteen in in that too many of the at the care home where the people most the most sold one the most said yeah I'll add the people with a very short time locked in their life so that that is very unfortunate and I think that it may be the biggest worry for media call for all the decision makers and three them after the people working at the elder care homes how to stop that that is if if I can trust you say well perhaps that is the point because if you have been stronger in terms of your clampdown measures you looked up as early as stage that risk of what was happening now in the care homes much of the last night's boys have been saved if you'd acted differently really no one knows if if that will help if you the young kids couldn't go to school for example I don't think that will really depend because you haven't been able to visit them to one of the other care homes for one and a half months so I don't think it's it's really correct to do that kind of connection between the boulder restrictions but of course you need restrictions that you need to make sure that you can get the social distance in Brooklyn is about the the purpose of protection equipment which is also important to have both in the healthcare sector but also the other tests after I don't know how all the countries are registering their death tolls but but I think that is something that's going to be evaluated also and in some time and and and if it's more left it also and in some time and and when this is more or less pass through this and then make that because we already seven also different in different countries when it comes to very old people and the reason and the course of their death yes indeed that was the complacent no doubt but local there is also a debate sadly between health versus the economy but it is a very complex picture what is the three dish view is that a balance the that you have tried to strike in in order to preserve the economy and the all the impacts of a lockdown which could be civic two verses of the health of people versus coronavirus how do you see that debate in Sweden no we haven't one of the base like that we are seeing all the time that we're using I'm trying to use the right measures at the right time and we also want to make sure that the measures we are taking that the people of the the whole population there are able to keep them for a long time not just for a few weeks because the virus is not going to disappear from our society in in a short while so we have to make sure that it's possible for them to to keep it over time and that it's difficult it's difficult for the people above seventy two did not meet with other people it's very difficult for for many at perfect his suggests that west in the distance it's very difficult for all the young people of the students to to study online and still get their grades in exams so that it that that is difficult but I wouldn't say that it's it's something with which choosing between that was a question about that hello and the lives and the economy and trying to make sure that but people that are able to live their lives but they have an income where you sing all the measures we have at the welfare society to make sure that they can stay home and still have an income that they can get the healthcare they need no matter what what incomes they're having yeah so and we're trying to help the businesses that we have with big troubles very briefly if you with the statics are running out of time is there anything you would change looking back in the wave which you've tackled this no that's not the that's not how I or the government or or anyone of the decision makers are I think you're right now but of course when you have everything on the table as in it is a hobby or something we could probably do something different but considering the fact we have had the the situation than what we've been knowing about the virus from being spread that we think that we're doing what we can know what's the right thing for freedom that in every decision with taking okay well we wish you luck and we hope that that is the case then Holland good thank you so much for joining us this morning that Sweden's minister for health and social affairs and she will be joining Bloomberg television at the moment so if you want to get more on the story about Sweden and coronavirus a new Europe you can just talk TV go on your pre bedtime also all thanks right let's get the latest now in global.

"In the program to date April Wagner. Hey April I think I heard Jonathan. I was that you Jonathan. That was me. Okay Jonathan. Yeah I then April. Go ahead Jonathan. I would say of all the things the thing. I'm probably most proud of is getting a brand story that you thought was worthwhile. Wow Okay what. I hope. You think it's worthwhile but I I appreciate the compliment. Glad for your success and I'm excited about that. But what about you April Danny? I'm really excited to have met the cohort that I've been a part of the art stars. We have had such great conversations ingrates energy and it's wonderful to hear about their practices and to grow over the year gather and to sort of level each other out. We're one of the week. Another one of us is strong and I feel like their success is my success and I'm so proud of all of them and I'm so grateful to have my all time. Oh that's fantastic. So you know what April is talking about is the small teams Formulate different cohorts within the accelerator program. So it's three to four teams of between three and five people each and you really build kind of a a bond. Don't you with the people that you have to depend on to to get through the program? Is Anybody happening sample? That can kind of comment on you know. Let us understand in real world terms. How does that work? How how's your team helping? I didn't Steven Steven. Yeah went to share a also on that same group with April in and the team has just been a huge support to me It was an opportunity that came my way that I was thrilled about. The terrified. Didn't see how it could benefit me financially and wasn't sure. I wanted to participate with it and they just talking through with my team. They all were encouraging me. And helping me see my blindsides really and Just that discussion by my peers helped me so much either. People I respect and then encouragement meant so much to me that that ultimately wound up being my typical project. I'm very thankful I wouldn't had that. Had it not been that particular conversation on the phone but my team? Oh Wow you know. Stephen there's so much unpacked their first off. I can't help but notice. You said these are people you respect and I assume that respect grew over time with sort of multiple interactions with your team. You know sort of build up that was I just wanted to say it was such an encouraging group and I know all the groups are this way you know. When I had an art show Solo Exhibition I walked in and saw an orchid. You know that my team had sent you know for reception and just just a great Camaraderie that had been built. I love that That's one of the things I like about. The program is very hard to build. You know a tightly knit team that. Can you know help each other and depend on each other? Lean on each other in driving a career forward The way he can in the accelerated program so so that really excites me. I love you kind of alluded to Stephen to your pivotal project. You know building out a project that is not just theoretical learning but it's an example of actually implementing that in your business and in the real world So for me. It's great to hear you. You talk about that. Let me ask you this Speaking to everybody fellows. What's your favorite part of the program overall? What stands out for you. This is Robin. I WanNa just piggyback on what Stephen Said because the Fellowship program offers some really comprehensive very successful strategy but working in teams. What resonated for me is that and getting to know each other we could really identify the sensitive aspects that each of had and we're able to walk crew maybe some embarrassing moments for some real difficulties that makes some of US had actually figuring how to personalized for strategies and protocol so to me that was very meaningful event human to wreck sort of Connect that it takes into account who you are what your motivation than intentions are by like that. I it sounds like that you know the vulnerability that you can bring to you a a group of people that you respect in are working with on a long-term programme also brings with the opportunity to sort of open up and take feedback. It might be sort of on the emotional channel As much as on the intellectual channel about growing your business so I liked that you you also build that trust because you have that vulnerability respect anybody else Find a similar experience or would like to comment on. What your favorite part of the program was. This is Tim. You know there's so much in this business about personal recommendations and personal introductions and. I have found that to be one of the most valuable parts of this. Not only meeting the other artists but Anyway that they can help to introduce buyers galleries and I told him. I've been able to do that to a couple of my my My compatriots here But I find in business. That personal recommendation is the most important for me and the one thing that I've gotten most out of this. You know I really love that. A lot of people wonder. What is the value of really getting together? I mean shouldn't artist. Spend all the time in the studio and essentially be the hermit. You know what's the point of going to be with other artists and You know I always point out that there is the intangible stuff that you can't prove that we heard about a moment ago but I also think there's the tangible part of exchanging contacts and exchanging skills That allows you to you. Know advance each other's careers. I think one of you is talking about the finally getting help figuring out which business objective was most important so Yeah I I think that as a huge value and we shouldn't shy away from from wanting something tangible out of either a program or or from collaboration the ask you guys this question Was there were there any surprises or if there was something surprising about the program What was the most surprising thing over over the past twelve months? Daniel? I carry Albanese When I look back at last year I think what has surprised me. The most is really understanding The reason I do what I do. And then it's finding my boy to share this with others so when you talk about finding your voice. How has the program helped you do that? Exactly mentioned earlier. I can't never was steven mentioned that. But it's the brand story and understanding that yes people by art but it's the story behind that are that really helps move someone to on and that's an a p so it's not their best thing and just the case that I create this last painting they're actually investing and and my story and the journey. I've taken to get to this point. I think that's really true. I I think it's insightful. Terry I when I think of a buying a piece of art. I'm not buying a decoration. It's not a two-dimensional thing but I'm what I'm buying his meaning and for me. The meaning is partly visual. It's partly about the artists themselves. So there's a couple of characters they're right. There's there's me there's the art and there's the artists now there's three characters in this in this brand story and to me the you know whether the art has some personal relationship to me or buying what the art is in and of itself from buying who the artist is and what she's trying to accomplish Wet Weather in one of those is more pronounced than the other. I still think about all three. And at least that's what I'm hearing from. You is something that you've managed to apply over the past year. It made a difference a huge difference as I've had open aid and really taking the time to connect with people. Listen to them and find a way to kind of Wean my story in repair story. And it's so cool because it's not just selling piece of art. It's really developing relationship long. Oh I love that and you're talking about how the brand story can help you develop a stronger. It's possibly a a more a longer relationship with the collectors for instance and I think that absolutely right I I know I keep going back to the same font of meaning i. It's very hard for me to buy one piece of art from one person if I get what they're doing and why it matters. I'm a repeat customer. I'm sitting here in an office Surrounded by podcasting equipment and art and each artist is represented more than what's essentially so and for those who wonder why the acoustics aren't better. Hey Look I could put up soundproof panels but my sounds are bouncing off the actual artwork. So well anyway Let me ask you this. So I've heard a lot of emphasis now on brand story and also on the teams zoom in on the teams a little bit because We did for admit it but I have a specific goal here so we have these. Three teams Currently the art stars the Peregrine's the absolute read. So I want to ask you Without out in you which team own etc wall. Each of these teams has not only a name in its own group but it has its own fellow adviser right. So we have kristen. And Nadia and Greg as fellow advisors and we have Donna as sort of adviser of advisors and so so my question is this who thinks that they have the best team in. Why what really shines about your team or if you'd rather who has the best emeritus fellow adviser and y you know. Hey this is Adrian. I have to say that Greg is Definitely the best adviser he Will take time out the other day. For instance. He was at a party. And here's something that might be of interest to me and so he stepped out and emailed me about it. That is off the charts. As far as I know so high. Touch care timeliness and an interest Is What I'm picking up from. That of course is Greg Shadwick. One of our previous years senior fellows who went on to become an emeritus fellow in a in a fellow adviser to the current crew of of fellows for twenty nineteen and the team is called the absolute read. So my question is is art stars and Peregrine's you're gonNA take that because you know. Hey this is steven. I want to speak up for the art stars. I think we have the best team but certainly our advisor. Kristen she was a Ted Talk. speaker this year. I'd be how many can say that Wow what a professional. And what a tremendous benefit. It's been having her on our calls and and beyond Adrian Kristen also communicates with US outside of our regular monthly calls together the team and has been encouraging what strengthen what a great thing this is. Robin. I have to add that. Kristen Save the day for me on one of our assignments at the last minute provided some feedback and that was kind of a lifesaver for me..

"Futures higher as well. The ten year treasury yield ahead of the jobs data is steady on a to twelve handle. We continue to see twos. Tens curve steepening, the three-month ten year still inverted that dynamic is interesting. We'll investors be looking more for cracks in the US job markets and anything to do with the Phillips curve as they have been previously yesterday. The market didn't seem to buy that Mario Draghi had the tools needed to support the euro-zone economy. We sold the euro jump to a seven week high today a little bit. Off too. Euro, it's backed down, but was even more interesting is that we saw a real repricing when lose five year, five year, inflation, swaps hitting a record low and the market pushing back its pricing for a rate cut from the in two thousand twenty the euro trades at one twelve at sixty nine the ten year Boone deal is steady at negative twenty three basis points ahead of jobs, data and looking at FX elsewhere, the Bloomberg dollar index stronger, but we're heading for a weekly loss, taking a check on oil. So, of course, w Shaw has entered a bam all this week, but it's extending gains today at one point six percent, fifty three forty five Brent sixty to sixty six up one point six percent. Lots going on in the markets. Caroline, nevertheless, took about our top stories this morning. Vice President Mike Pence says that the US still plans to impose tariffs or Mexico next week over the flow of undocumented migrants from Central America but talks between the two nations. Do continue the story from Bloomberg's Charlie Pellett, Pence's comments came after a meeting of American and Mexican officials at the White House wrapped up a source says Mexico's push. For more time to negotiate over concerns. The two sides won't be able to reach agreement on the steps Mexico would have to take to avert the tariffs. The president has said those tariffs will be enacted on Monday. Sources say Mexico has proposed sending about six thousand national guard troops to its southern border with Guatemala to help stem migration as part of a deal to avert, the tariffs in New York, Charlie Pellett, Bloomberg daybreak Europe. Google reportedly has warned the White House that it's hallway band could cause security risks, according to the financial times, Google has also to be exempted from any ban. The company said to have wound that it wouldn't be able to update its Android operating system on wall phones that could lead to develop its own version, and that version of Android could be more vulnerable to hacking undoing to banks investment banking, Tif Gulf Richie is among a growing number of employees being investigated for potential involvement in allegedly illicit tax transactions that's according to a person familiar with the Massa gem and prosecutors probing deals through. Which the bank's clients may have tricked tax authorities into refunding dividend taxes. That would never paid Ritchie is a deputy CO two. So his deputy to the CEO, Kristen saving and China says it has quote tremendous room for adjusting monetary policy. If the trade will deepens speaking exclusively to Bloomberg PBOC governor Egon, signaled that Tokes with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, this weekend could be difficult in his first international broadcasting to the Egon told Bloomberg's Tom MacKenzie how Beijing will approach the negotiations involved in all the eleven wrong for trade negotiation. I think after eleven wrong though, full negotiation they have achieved the tremendous consensus. But right now, we are running into a great difficulty, China's position is that they would like negotiation a good face mutually respect. And then, you know that we have three positions von is that if we have a deal, which would remove all the additional tariff since the trade war, the second is green to increase push us from United States, but the amount the number should be realistic and the third one year started the text of the agreement should be balanced in terms of the responsibility of both sides. So that is our three position. I think at this point. They have to come up with some idea of Ola coming the tremendous difficulty ahead of us. They do not like a trade war. I hope that we can solve our differences through mutually respectable negotiation. You mentioned the Tyrol's, what impact have the tariffs had both the US and Chinese towers today, the tariff to me is a bad idea and the tariff is really double edge of this war. It's actually hurting Chinese economy. It's also hurting the US economy, especially the US consumers, I think. If the tariff continue at the level right now, probably the average American family would spend the eight hundred dollar more on the WalMart purchase. That's bad for the US consumer. And also, he's bad for the US manufacturer and importers the impact of tariff on China. It slowdown the Chinese export. Of course, it also slow down our economy. But I think if that is the somebody's choice. They have to face the difficult reality. Now that was the governor gang speaking exclusively to Bloomberg's Tom MacKenzie, and Tom joins us now live from Beijing, great to speak to you. So about those comments from the governor, did they leave the door, I prefer the Yuan. Depreciation. Well, this stuck between a rock and a hard place. When it comes to the concert, at least a very fine line that they have to walk in Egan, the governor of the has to wall because, of course, there are increasing cools, hit domestically in China for the central Bank to allow greater depreciation off the UN to offset the pressure of the Taras into give exporters here. More breathing space. And of course, we've already seen the UN depreciate by about eight percents over the last twelve months, but equally Egon is also his team, very coldness of the way that the US will interpret any further weakness significant weakness in the county. That's one factor, the other factor that they have to weigh up is a concern that a sharp appreciation in the UN would lead to capital outflows and pressure on the financial system. But we sensed from conversation with the gun was that he was edging towards a place where in the snow where you have a full blown trade war with. Trump puts towns on all Chinese exports US market. Then there is room. It seems he was suggesting for further depreciation. But we, we shouldn't expect it to be shown appreciation, and he was pains to stress that long term, the Kanzi would return to being a strong and stable concert. He said is already stable, but in line of an excavation and trade tensions than further depreciation might happen that flexibility will help the Chinese economy. The global economy shouldn't be a big surprise, but long term this will be a stable currency, Tom. It was a great interview, and great to have you with us. I was trying to work out when listening to it exactly what China's priorities would be in terms of support. If we do get a trade will esscalation. I know he talks about room to cut, and they certainly do have room on that policy front. But we'll sensitive, you get of what the policy prescription would be in terms of balance between monetary and fiscal and will they would prioritize. Yeah. And I think. Trying to read the priorities from policymakers haters, absolutely keys. You say and I think his articulation released underlined, the argument, the case that the emphasis, the heavy lifting will still be on the fiscal front. And he was at pains to stress that has been an I quote, tremendous fiscal support since the beginning of this year, and he pointed to the tax cuts VAT cuts, the consta- social security payments and taxes, as well. And of course, we've had just in the last few days if they notice isn't plans put out around trying to boost the consumer here around the auto sector electronics goods, so there is a big emphasis on the fiscal support, but he also of course, talked about what he and the central Bank could do as well. And of course, in the last or since the beginning of two thousand eighteen we've seen them announced these targeted reserve ratio cuts, six of them, so far, since the beginning of two thousand eighteen and he really emphasized the support that he was trying to provide for small and sized enterprises. And for small banks to get the credit to those small. Businesses and the private sector, which course, provide the majority of employment and employment was a key aspect of it for him as well. We asked about the benchmark rate cut, whether that was something that's being factored in because again, that's something economists and now discussing as a potential option. Now he wouldn't be drawn on that. And he said he was very comfortable with the rate scenarios, they aren't that deposit rates in the lending rates, but he certainly didn't close down and shut down the idea that further rate cuts off the table for them. Just in twenty seconds what they mean for China's delivering de leveraging campaign. Well, I also whether it'd be good on the Bank. And he said, look, we've got the leverage under control of the last two years to about two hundred fifty percent debt to GDP, but he said, look, if they was a full blown trait will you would expect that level to edge up slightly, but it will be controlled. And once the trade tensions around the way, they would refocus on the need to ensure that leverages caps. Thank you so much. Tom MacKenzie for joining us with a lot more context around that exclusive interview with the governor e gong a great interview in Karachi to check it out. And we have seen a bit of weakness off the back of that. We've gotten to six ninety four on the off show. Elsewhere Ramal cats. We're about forty minutes since the equity trading session in Europe. We still wait to see how the US Mexico talks pan out, but risk to bid the stock six hundred up seven tenths of a percent, and the ten year yield edging higher..

Good morning, John. Karen sources say Deutsche Bank is considering a capital race as part of a wider overhaul. It's a move that could trigger a backlash from Besters light of Deutsche Bank's, low stock price. A capital, increase may be needed to fund substantial cuts to the investment Bank, which has long been one of the biggest headaches for the CEO Kristen saving. He's signal deep cuts as the lender struggles to. Make a profit frustrating shareholders who saw the stock hit a record low last week. John Tucker, Bloomberg daybreak. John, thanks in Hong Kong. Bloomberg news has learned Alibaba, group's considering raising twenty million dollars via second listing. Bloomberg's Tom MacKenzie has more from Beijing. We know that they working with that financial planners, according to our associates, and look at potential listing in Hong Kong in the second half of twenty nine thousand now, we've been warned that these plans are still of course, preliminary, and they could ultimately change. But we've heard that they want to raise additional liquidity that want to diversify that funding channels an another reason is quite simply Chinese companies are facing a very hostile, of course, increasingly hostile US government in addition to raising capital and offering in Hong Kong could have the benefit of tightening Alibaba's ties with Beijing here in the US another major mega merger in the payment industry. "So let's do just that European equity. Markets taking another leg down with disappointing. I phone number's eight tenths of business confidence at the stance of the hour. And that seems to be weighing on the market sentiment. Just a little bit. We've had numbers coming through from various European economies basic fairly mixed this morning. So the stock six hundred again, one way, down by concerns around trade ties, Tapan the biggest fooling sector. We down on the stock six hundred one point one percent the worst before. Wing index is the Xetra Dax sound by one and a half percent. But actually the Caroline's not far behind also down by one point four five percent. So the level of losses we saw in Asia, moving on to the European markets. And as we mentioned, the negativity in Europe, US features increasingly looking negative. So we're expecting to see moves around seven tenths of a percent to the downside on the SNP on the Dow, and maybe even by more than one percent, lower on the NASDAQ so certainly trade tensions in the way they rub up alongside consensus tech sex, that settling positive the monkeys thinking right now prices responding to trade tension concerns. We see a weaker Brent price down by nine tenths of upset at seventy thirty three still above the seventy dollars a barrel. Mark just we see we yields and the US tenure yield weakens further down into the two point three six range. We see a slightly stronger dollar a little bit of investor appetite. Full the greenback up by two tenths of one percent. We'll see money going into the yen. And so those twin safe havens in the currency market performing well in this morning session. That's a quick look at the data on where we are on European equity markets. Then let's talk about one Bank and the, the, the company that he's under pressure in the shaft rice that is under pressure today, and that is Deutsche Bank. Several fail. Turnaround plans, several new CEO's I never falling shot. Price has been a difficult few years for Bank. Now, top is directing their anger at the man who's been that old alone. Supervisory board chairman pool act like now, Bloomberg sources say they've discussed pushing for his exit setting today's AGM, which is currently underway to be a tense affair. Joining us now from Frankfurt. He's Bloomberg's and the Holden. Marie, good morning at Lightner then spoke this morning at the top of the hour and see Kristen saving also has spoken. One of they've been saying. Good morning. Anna, h really APAC ADM seating venue, on lots of shareholder here to hear what both the chairman NFC Alexei. The top line really Christian saving who's currently speaking now speak for about another forty five minutes. He took the stage and he was saying that more tough cutbacks coming to the investment banks regretfully. He wants to focus, the Bank on profitable, and growing businesses. The unit the investment Bank of that has been in the spotlight and really sore spot for Deutsche Bank, most capital, pay that lion share bonuses at the same time. It'd by far the least profitable. I'm on toback three main divisions in the chairman before a savings took to the stage, Paul, I'll fight nervous saying how hit the CEO has a total backing supervisory board. So it looks like more cost cuts coming to more Cosco coming them. What about strategic options for the business of two? They tried to do that. Tie out, we've calmness banking that failed, what's the latest. What latest so that they're going milking to just more cost cuts. If it doesn't seem like they have any other types of plants. They're going to hear a lot more. So forty five minutes. They where they think they want to grow, but it seems like they should back to the same playbook that they have been doing tweaking needs cost coach trimming where they can raise the trim ally. He brought down the workforce. He wants to bring it to ninety thousand globally by the end of two thousand nineteen he's even cut things like the food bowl at Deutsche Bank, not allowing bankers to, you know, go first class on on train to we are seeing more and more cost cuts. One thing many shareholders are looking for as you said, they're coming in to me is possibly tweeting of management the supervisor board. She's a lot of frustration about the man who's been here since twenty twelve and that is the chairman, he's been through three management changes sports or to overhaul. And since he's been there the stock at Taunton, seventy percent. When you cost Cussing takes on train travel, on the fruit bowl, people know, it's it serious intensive, what shareholders our own skin full, then you've been speaking to a, you have been through a bit about that gives a little flavor fit for the mood that some of them are in. Yeah. It seems like I mean I've never really seen AG. I've liked it. There are tons, and tons of people out. Wait online for about a good five or ten minutes to get into, and I was speaking to a few the shareholders on the way in to them used to work, your joints, your Bank thing now work at other banks, and they both agree that there needs to be overhaul of the investment banks, but they disagreed about Paul lineup. One said he definitely needs to go look at how the share price doing the company's doing there needs to be a change at the very top of the Bank. The other didn't think he needs to go. But they both agree that they need to be an overhaul of the Bank. I would say the word they used me that they're just very sad about the state of the Bank, and, you know, we're coming into, we've coming into this agent lining up and they could see the.

"From Bloomberg's European headquarters in London, I'm Markus Karlsson with this Bloomberg radio business flash. Now, there is quite a lot going on. Although I think the fed probably gave the biggest impetus a couple of days ago by reprising some of the risks markets today, we have a little bit of data out of the US. But again, it's very unlikely that it will move the needle much because of that dovish call from j power China promising to substantially expand purchases of US goods after the latest round of trade talks both sides say they will discuss it more. But they stopped short of actually saying they have an agreement. Overall. Asian stocks are pretty much flat. This is on the back of this year's China trade talks as they continue to wear on one giving up some of its recent advance a minimum, of course, looking at Deutsche Bank. A we will bring you that interview with the chief financial officer. And we're also following what Kristen saving chief executive is saying he says do toback has worked to do to reach its goals. Now, that's a Bloomberg business flash. Now, here's leeann guarantee with more on what's going on around the world, highly good morning, Francine. German Chancellor Angela Merkel will leave for two day trip to Japan this coming Sunday in the view of US protectionism policy, Michael and Japanese Prime minister Shinzo while they will use the visit to set a signal for free trade, according to German officials medical also meet the Japanese imprint on Tuesday and attend an economic forum North Korea is allegedly pledging to destroy all its nuclear material enrichment facilities. That's according to the US special envoy for the country, Stephen by gun. He claims the promises made to US Secretary of state, Mike Pompeo when he visited North Korea in October and in the UK, heavy snow has been causing big problems for parts of southern England. And guess what? Malls on the way, an amber warning for snow is now in place until eleven AM for parts of. Thames Valley, Surrey and Hampshire. Even temperatures dropped to minus fifteen point four degrees celsius in Aberdeenshire. Global news twenty four hours a day on air and it took on Twitter found by more than twenty seven hundred journalists and analysts in more than one hundred twenty countries. I'm Yan guarantees. This is Bloomberg Markus. Thanks very much Leon now deutchebanks fourth quarter revenue has missed estimates. Coming in at five point five eight billion euros. That's the eighth straight contraction for the German lender and just a little bit earlier this hour Danske Bank forecast that net income in twenty nine thousand nine will miss estimates. For more on this morning's Bank earnings were joined by Bloomberg intelligence senior analyst Jonathan Thais. He's with us on the line, Jonathan if we kick it off then with the Deutsche it seems as if these figures are complicating Christian savings plans to to cost cut his way out of what's seen as dodger banks difficulties. Yes. I mean, unfortunately, it's pretty messy. We knew they would be thank him down person payers, private and commercial Bank mess deficit management bigeye flows. So net net, the top line remained, pretty horrible. Which doesn't leave him with a great deal to do apart from try and manage costs and lower the cost targets, which he has done and the other thing that unfortunately, the capital of the small mess because with the four key volatility. We saw a spike in risk weighted assets, which again maintenance the same the stories about compound capsule rising. I mean capital is guiding the wrong way as well. Okay. What does that tell us Jonathan about a merger with Commerzbank? Will it happen? Personnel. I can't see them. Back into a corner on this. So it does offer quite a few. Put germany. I mean bear in mind that you put those two together when I'm sort of retail and commercial banking basis in Germany. Cather landesbank. Yeah, I'm ball for the cost savings. What does it really achieve nothing to buy buy buy a Bank? You would need a capital raise don't you would be actively acquirer. So I mean, we have you know, we've warmed up on them. And I in the sector this year because I think the absence of anything else, including TalkLine leg gonna have to do something or let's turn also then to Danske Bank Denmark's biggest lender. Other any signs of the impact here from the Estonian scandal on on underlying earnings what kind of fallout are you seeing? Which is good. And we know that they're buffer. They've got a few billion dollar buffer. I mean who knows what the fine will be there. They're estimates range from sort of billion dollars up to kind of double digits. But we're still in the the candidates should be at the lower end of that. So we think holy wise. You not really saying that the profit warning last year more today, we just difficult trading conditions, which we saw across the sector clearly not the back by keeping that pie. Too dry. We do need a new C. I'm Bob I think we'll be a good step towards people beginning to look at this as an investable banks. But at the moment when you've got such a huge range on the capital damage. Pennsly- the fine could bring it's pretty difficult for the market. And what we know about capital that they have to potentially cover fines. Well, I mean, we know that they've got probably about six billion dollars, but the range of potential litigation cost. It's so wide. We were without US colleague education guy remain at the lower end of the two to three in which they can come to be covered. But if it goes about five, that's when you are looking at some kind of capital raise territory. Now, Jonathan if we tie these two stories together, the deutscher on the Danske Bank story together. Deutsche Bank was saying that it's not added to legal reserve so contingent liabilities in connection with the Estonia scandal at Dan Dansk Dortch, of course, being a correspondent Bank of some of the some of the transactions writer. I mean, how much clarity do we actually know about that particular parallel numb? They seem reasonably confident and they talk about being three nine twenty litigation issues is so never say never. I mean, we know that the US prosecutors are looking we know that the damn scandal continued to grow ground gripe. But. One of the many problems. They do say reasonably confident at this stage. But as we know from history that doesn't mean anything. Are we going to say overall in ten seconds or even say cross-border emanate this year? We're going to see a lot of talk about it. And we may get something kind of by year end. But I don't think it's not that easy to put two very large binds together, talk and probably less action. Jonathan tie. Thanks so much. Bloomberg intelligence senior analyst Jonathan ties that on the line now straight ahead right here on Bloomberg daybreak Europe DNA is head of asset allocation at the big day, he joins us next. And if you'll soon be in the office, be sure to check out more great interviews on Bloomberg television by going to.
