"Um. <Silence> <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> <Speech_Music_Female> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> Good <Speech_Female> question. <Speech_Female> Sophie, I don't <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> feel qualified. <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> I <Speech_Music_Female> <Advertisement> barely feel <SpeakerChange> qualified <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> to act. <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> If I'm being honest, <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> I <Speech_Music_Female> think <Silence> <SpeakerChange> it <Speech_Female> wasn't out of a <Speech_Female> desire for <Speech_Female> more <Speech_Female> or building a business <Speech_Female> or a brand or <Speech_Female> anything. It actually <Speech_Female> came about <Speech_Female> by finding <Speech_Female> people <Speech_Female> that I <Speech_Female> loved <Speech_Female> creating with, <Speech_Female> whether <Speech_Female> it was <Speech_Female> cooking with them in <Speech_Female> my kitchen and were <Speech_Female> both improving about <Speech_Female> some stupid story <Speech_Female> or goofing <Speech_Female> off and being like, oh my God, <Speech_Female> that's a really good joke. <Speech_Female> Oh, is anyone ever <Speech_Female> said that before? That's a really, <Speech_Female> really good joke. <Speech_Female> <Silence> <Speech_Female> I found a <Speech_Female> producer <Speech_Female> on the good place <Speech_Female> that I got along with so <Speech_Female> splendidly Morgan <Speech_Female> sackett and we <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> started a production company <Speech_Female> and <Speech_Female> are now working on <Speech_Female> commercials and <Speech_Female> television <Speech_Female> and <Speech_Female> I think I only <Speech_Female> knew that <Speech_Female> once I found <Speech_Female> my creative partners <Speech_Female> because <Speech_Female> personally I don't think <Silence> I <Speech_Female> would have been able to do <Speech_Female> it alone, which <Speech_Female> is sometimes different. <Speech_Female> There are people I know <Speech_Female> in Los Angeles <Speech_Female> that are brimming <Speech_Female> with ideas <Speech_Female> that just <Speech_Female> need to get it out there. <Speech_Female> I was not one of those <Speech_Female> people. I want to just <Speech_Female> ask them to follow up. <Speech_Female> What did you need <Speech_Female> most of out of a <Silence> partner? <Speech_Female> Qualifications <Speech_Female> stronger than <SpeakerChange> mine. <Speech_Female> It's truly <Speech_Female> like, <Speech_Female> in every <Speech_Female> venture I <Silence> enter <Speech_Female> into, whether <Speech_Female> it's hello <Speech_Female> Bello, <SpeakerChange> or <Speech_Female> done share, which <Speech_Female> is the name of our production <Speech_Female> company, <Speech_Female> or developing <Speech_Female> with when <Speech_Female> we were developing the <Speech_Female> woman in the house. <Speech_Female> I <Speech_Female> attempt to, <Speech_Female> and I learned this from <Speech_Female> Ted Danson, <Speech_Female> hitch my cart <Speech_Female> to the smartest person in <Speech_Female> the room. <Speech_Female> I find <Speech_Female> someone with better ideas <Speech_Female> than me <Speech_Female> with more <Speech_Female> experience than me, <Speech_Female> and I say, <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> how do we do this? <Silence> <Advertisement> I <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> ask a ton <Speech_Female> of questions at work. <Silence> I <Speech_Female> am not shy <Speech_Female> when I don't know how to <Speech_Female> do something. <Speech_Female> Like when I'm in business <Speech_Female> meetings with halo Bello, <Speech_Female> my notebook <Speech_Female> is jammed <Speech_Female> full of <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> like <Speech_Female> random <Speech_Female> acronyms <Speech_Female> that have to <Speech_Female> do with putting products <Speech_Female> on shelves that I <Speech_Female> need to look up later. <Silence> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Female> But I'm <Speech_Female> laughing because <Speech_Female> that's also how we <Speech_Female> started. We didn't know any <Speech_Female> business terms or acronyms. <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> <SpeakerChange> <Silence> Right. <Speech_Female> So <Speech_Female> I <Silence> think <Speech_Female> <SpeakerChange> I <Speech_Female> attempt <Speech_Female> to nuzzle in <Speech_Female> close to the smartest <Speech_Female> person in the room. <Speech_Female> And I think that <Speech_Female> if <Speech_Female> you think you're the <Speech_Female> smartest person in the room <Speech_Female> in any <SpeakerChange> venture, <Silence> you should <Speech_Female> check <Speech_Female> yourself because <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> for me, that's not the <Speech_Female> healthiest situation. <Speech_Female> I think that's <Speech_Female> a little bit <SpeakerChange> dangerous. <Speech_Female> I could not agree <Speech_Female> more. I'm going to go <Speech_Female> rogue and I'm going to do <Speech_Female> three last lightning questions. <Speech_Female> Are you <SpeakerChange> ready? <Speech_Female> You have one more answer. <Speech_Female> Kristen lightning <Speech_Female> lightning. <SpeakerChange> <Silence> Who's <Speech_Female> the last person you <Speech_Female> asked for advice? <SpeakerChange> <Silence> Ben <Speech_Female> Hart, <Speech_Female> my children's <Speech_Female> book author, <Speech_Female> my co partner. What <Speech_Female> is your favorite acronym <Speech_Female> that you learned <Speech_Female> for hello Bella? <SpeakerChange> Well, obviously <Speech_Female> ROI, because <Speech_Female> you can use it in daily <Speech_Female> conversation, return on <Speech_Female> investment. <Speech_Female> I'll walk <Speech_Female> out to the gym and I'll say <Speech_Female> I'm about to go get some <Speech_Female> ROI on my time, <Speech_Female> right? <Speech_Female> Gains, muscle, <Speech_Female> et cetera, <Speech_Female> love and ROI. <Speech_Female> And last one, <Speech_Female> who should we have on the show <Speech_Female> next? <Speech_Female> Tig Notaro. <Speech_Female> Okay, can you <Speech_Female> introduce? <Speech_Female> Of course. <Speech_Female> Great. Well, Kristen, <Speech_Female> thank you <Speech_Female> so much. That's a pleasure <Speech_Female> to talk to you really <Speech_Female> appreciate you sharing <Speech_Female> everything. Thank <Silence> <Advertisement> you. <Speech_Music_Female> <Advertisement> <Music> <Music> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Music_Female> Thanks for listening <Speech_Female> to

"It's such an easy fix, though, isn't it? It's such an easy fix. But I will say it's gotten easier. Especially since I'm in a marriage where my husband loves that kind of stuff as well. He loves because you know he's in recovery. So he relied on the alcohol and drugs forever. But now he realizes he can actually manage his happiness. His dopamine by purposeful suffering. I'm switching gears for a second. What made you get into children's books? I've always been drawn to kids. But having kids has maybe recognized how infiltrating their brains with healthy critical thinking and some a really good value system early on, can set them up for life. And so when we wrote the world needs more purple people, one of my closest friends Ben and I, it came out of a conversation pre COVID where everyone was talking politics at the table. Everybody. Even all of us who agree, you know? It was just demanding and it was exhausting and we realized our kids were overhearing it. And we realized we were presenting to them in adulthood in which you would have to choose a team. We rendered you want to be blue.

"Work situation. If you're in a meeting and it is dragging, somebody having the confidence to say, I love you guys so much, but we got to get this show on the road. And knowing you're not there to hurt anyone's feeling, confidence is saying, I'm really, really off today. So I apologize. I'm going to be a little bit more withdrawn. And then going about your day, but it's like giving people the information about you, they might need in order to work in the same situation because hiding it, people still feel it, you know? You can feel when people are anxious around you. So you got to lead with honesty and confidence and like, yeah, I have this. I have this. I have anxiety, and today's a really anxious day for me. So is it okay with you if I leave 30 minutes early? Or is it okay with you if I just kind of fade into the background, but I'll get all my work done. You know, whatever you need to say. And I think I was, I was probably more empowered to say that at work after having admitted it publicly. At the skim, we love a good read, and we love to bring you book racks. "And they were closed sealed letters and it said like, for when you're distressed for when you're overwhelmed for when you're sad and they were just like notes from her. put much emphasis on that conversation. And my anxiety and depression never my anxiety never showed itself in my performing. It was actually started much more with my personal life and just feeling these waves of depression and when I was probably my second year of college and then I remembered what she said and I called her and I spoke to a psychiatrist and I was very grateful that my family had that open line of communication that it wasn't I'm most grateful for the fact that it wasn't a big deal that it wasn't a uh oh, let's get a family meeting together Kristen's got a problem in her head like I didn't feel less than because my mom was like, yeah, and if you had broken your ankle, we would also just send you to the ankle doctor like it's a sort of it's not that dramatic. I think I'm listening to talk and I'm like thinking even in my own life and in the last few years especially it's so commonplace for everybody's like I'm so anxious. Oh my gosh, I'm so anxious and that that's a thing that we just say in the same way that you're like, you know, I'm tired and it's almost like filler sometimes. In many ways that's not something that people used to be as open about at work, especially. And you've been very public at least the last 5 years or so talking about like these are things that you have dealt with. And then continue to deal with. Talk to me like just how you used to treat that, or at least in a professional way. When was the first time you remember sharing with colleagues or a boss that, hey, here's something that I'm struggling with and I might be off today. It wasn't until I shared it publicly with the world. I think that even though I had a mom who prepared me as best she possibly could, I still kept it behind closed doors and for the bulk of my professional career, definitely separated who I was. I was this bubbly. And I mean, I am bubbly, a lot of the time. It's like Dax is really the only one that gets the me that wants to stay in bed for a while or the me that's very anxious. He's really the only one that has to deal with it. But I remember exactly when it was, and it was because of him, and he's really encouraged me to do so many things that are more authentic in my life. But I was at the tail end of two different press tours. I had done so much press over the course of two months. I felt completely talked out. And I told every fun story that I could think of and I was like, I'm empty. What do I do? And I also said, I can't talk about my craft because I'm not even really sure what it is. And sometimes when actors talk too much about craft, I get a little like nauseated. But that's just me.

"Growing up, I never had big dreams and a vision board. It was sort of a slow progression of one foot in front of the other. If you do this work, you'll be qualified for this type of job. You know, if you study theater and you work on your voice, you'll be able to be qualified to audition for this type of show and then you could be seen by this person. It was a very slow and steady progression and when I was in Michigan from as long as I can remember and I love Michigan by the way. We go back all the time. But I did know in my heart it wasn't where I wanted to live. I was desperate to be around more theater. Desperate to live in New York. I wanted to know drag queens. I wanted to live in the TKTS blind to see every show possible. I just wanted that lifestyle. So staying in Michigan for college never even occurred to me. Just before you went to college, your mom sat you down for a really serious conversation. It sounds like really changed a lot of how your life would unfold and talk to you about the mental health struggles that ran in your family. Can you tell us a little bit more about that story and that conversation? Yeah, I mean, it's interesting. I don't know if I don't know where science currently stands on it because something certainly run in bloodlines, some things can be genetic and then some are environmental and some are sort of a who knows situation. It's a grab bag of jeans, right? But my mom had struggled with it. And so, you know, she could only speak from the heart. She's also a nurse. And she said, hey, by the way, if you ever start to feel unlike yourself, the world is too heavy, you don't want to get out of bed, you're anxious about everything. You feel like you're in a cage inside your body. All these things that people can sort of describe with depression or anxiety because she had felt that, she said, just so you know, talk to me about it because there's a lot of things that someone can do. And she also said, you know, there's a lot of things you can do endorphins and dopamine for exercise. You can talk to someone, talk therapy is great. She also said don't ever feel the shame stigma around if you have to take a medication because for some reason people evaluate mental medications differently than they do physical medications, but they're the same thing and what she said to me specifically was

"You'll put your phone down for two or three days. Yeah, I mean, I will check it in mid morning when I need to return work emails that require end of business day answer, but there are definitely days when I challenge myself to just put it down completely because here's the thing that no one remembers about 2022. There are plenty of other things to do. We just forgot like going on a hike or even watching TV, which is like a screen replacing a screen, but I suppose it's slightly more community oriented because you can do it with someone else. You can, I mean, I do puzzles or I'll write or I'll organize or look at whatever, I don't know, television show I'm working on and development and just sort of theorize about plot lines, but there's so much other work to do, at least for me that doesn't involve my phone and I much prefer when my phone is down. You send so much more evolved than I am, but I aspire to that ability to do that. No, it's not. It's not like I fight myself on it all the time. It's not easy. It's just I know what's good for my brain because you're totally right. I need to do that. Yeah, it's like a clear dopamine deficit when I put my phone down and that's because my body is desiring. Like my body just had all these jolts of dopamine by like scrolling through Instagram or TikTok or something and then my body wants to regulate me so you kind of have a slump when you put it down and sometimes I'm just more interested in taking control of my regulation rather than letting my phone be in control of me. That's all it is. You're giving me good motivation right now. You can do it. You can do it. Thanks. What is the last show you binge watched? Alone, season 8, should I watch it? Good. Don't know it. With out question, you should watch it. You should not be doing this podcast and turn it on right now. It's so good. Do you know what it is? It's a reality show for

The Questionable Way Kristen Bell and Dax Shepherd Raise Their Kids

"Dax shepherd and Kristen Bell's marriage. They constantly bring up such private issues about their marriage. Such as close sleeping, such as Dax falling back onto drugs and just there was another story not too long ago where Kristen had some kind of, I think it's called mastitis where her milk duck was blocked and it's hard for a kid to get the milk out. So Dax in the shower sucked really hard on his wife's breast and got whatever you wanted to blockage out and spit it out in the shower. I mean, this is some weird shit. You know what I mean? Don't you think? Can you do that? When I hear that story, it gets me a little weird out. Suck it on your wife's breasts to get something out of it mess Titus. I'm sure it's painful for a woman, but there's gotta be a better way to do it than having you husband in the shower, taking care of you like that. Anyhow, these two are always talking about their private lives and something she said the other day was pretty ridiculous. They're now sleeping in their own bed, the kids, but they don't always have good nights of sleep. So what she's done recently, she gives them melatonin gummies to knock them out quicker. Now, here's the thing. Kristen Bell has a company that sells melatonin and gummy bears. So maybe she's trying to promote her business, but I don't think this is a great idea. A to talk about it be to do it. There's always a lot to unpack when it comes to these two talking about their marriage. They always make headlines for the wrong reason. And they've spoken out about everything from the mastitis in the shower to self regulating hard period, they've talked about the divorce between Chris Pratt and Anna Faris, and also most recently, the frequency in which she and her husband bathe their kids. And what they said at that point was it's a privilege to bathe your kids. We only bathe them when we can smell the stink on them. Laval days without bathing that without their kids baby. They're those kind of parents. I think they stepped it at this time. Because, you know, melatonin, that's not even FDA approved I don't believe. It's asleep. It's a sleep hormone. And it's yet to be approved by the FDA for use in kids and adolescents where all the doses are still possible, especially in gummy bear form, kids look at that and think it's candy.

"We disagree with the last couple of polls. Hey, don't forget to vote on today's poll, go to at Twitter page and naughty nice Robert, Facebook, page is naughty, gossip, Emmys. To check back tomorrow to hear your results and now it's time for our next of the day. Well, the nicest of the day is a Joseph bena on why he is not using his famous dad who's Arnold Schwarzenegger's last name. So we all remember Arnold Schwarzenegger cheated with the nanny. And he had an illegitimate child. The name Joseph baena. And so bona is an actor in his own right. And he's a bodybuilder and a fitness buff and he says now he doesn't use Schwarzenegger's last name when he pursues his acting career, and he basically says, because my dad is old school. He doesn't believe in handouts. He believes hard work pays off and so do I. So when I go to auditions, they don't know who I am because we don't have the same last name. But they know who you are. They know who you don't have to have a name at all. You're very famous for the cover of men's fitness. Mental health. We know we're going to say you're not the day sweetie. But I'm not quite sure about this. You don't have to say your name at all. I was like, oh, that's how it started. Again, with the housekeeper. Mildred. His mother's military. Joseph. You are the nicest in the dikes. I do believe you believe this. But delusion. But delusional because he said, my dad is old fashioned and doesn't believe in handouts, Donna, and he doesn't either. Well, I mean, Joseph, would you be on the cover of that magazine? If it wasn't for odd old, would you? I don't think Mildred has the same name as Arnold. I had a Democrat, but we'll let it go. We're going to be nice. You had nice after day. Joseph. Meanwhile, if you've seen the pictures of him in his show, exactly. He's very I mean, he looks the spin. He get in my door. I don't need to know. I don't even know who to know his first name. He never know the first names of anybody that comes to your front door. Oh, it's a bit of scandal on the show. Doctor the way. You're the Nadia of the day. Okay, Joseph you're the nicest of the day. We're going to pretend we don't know you. Even though you're on the cover of and you look the spitting image. I mean, even Maria knew. Like, you just take one look at him. I know who your father is. Okay, let's do I know what is the name. Trevor never is breaking down. The big issue with Joe Rogan's, I'm not a racist apology. It's really clever. If you have a minute, the video is up on Nordic gossip dot com. So Trevor Noah said, let's not forget that Joe Rogan has called black people apes in the past, then he goes on to say quote, I think you were using racism to be entertaining. I'm not saying you were trying to offend black people. But you knew that offending black people would get a laugh out of those white friends you were with. We talked about this on Mondays. Show and Garrett who like stand up comedy is a big fan of stand ups. Sort of pointed out that he was a comedian Joe Rogan and they have different rules. You know what, I'm with Trevor Noah here. If the N word gets me one laugh, it's a laugh I don't want. No, I agree with you. To make it as something that's we can even relate to because neither of us are black is when somebody uses the F word when to gay people as a laugh. It is not funny. It's you're just saying it because you know it's a cheap shot to me. That is what it is. And the same way with the N word, it is a cheap shot to get a cheap laugh. Trevor Noah concluded by saying, just because something is a joke. Doesn't mean it can't be something else as well, because a joke can be racist. Don't use that word. And notice of the day, let's end with the moment of rob you're gonna rub you to rob. The only person who has a 100% of all the information about everything that's going on in your life is you. It's you. So why are you listening to other people? You're the only person that knows all the details about your life, making you the only person who knows what is good for you. Advice is important and I think it's something we should listen to, but ultimately you have to make the decision. So true, I mean, people can project what they feel like we should do, but in the day you know what's right for you, you know what's best for you and you know what's gonna make you happy. You know, hey, that's it for today. Thank you so much for listening to the dotted ice. "The three of us sit down and share ideas about using music to help defuse challenging moments and build core emotion regulation skills kristin asked me some parenting questions about the tricky situations in her home and jackie reflects on how writing songs for this show helped heal parts of her own childhood with all of that in mind. Let's jump in. Hi kristen. hi jackie kennedy. I'm really excited to be talking with you all. I know we're gonna ask you all the questions. I don't want you to ask us any questions. I want to ask you all good in rolex on so i'm like i'm an avid reader of anything about brain science or psychology or parenting. Have gone through. I mean literally all of them like body keeps the score danish way of parenting nurture shock like letting of his skin neat. Like everything in iowa. I just wanna know first question. Am i doing it right. That is the question. Everyone is asking themselves all the time. So much of what i think about with parenting is what goes on inside our bodies you know what what what do we see in our kids that trigger something us and whether we have kids or we're thinking about our relationship with ourselves or with important people in our lives. It's all the same principles. So i'm not to project well right our kids i often think and i i have three kids who have big personalities all of them they really show us so much of what's unhealed in our own from our own childhoods right still kind of lives in us so especially in their in their tricky moments right a whole world. I always feel. I kind of happens for us. I'm so excited to talk about how this even relate to your show because one of the probably most popular videos on my instagram actually has to do with when our kids are in really tricky moments. How everyone's like. Well what do i say. What do i do. And they feel are tone and are kind of connection and even they feel song way before they process words that we have to get their body back to a place of feeling safe. So i i always end up making up songs with my own kids and that idea for parents have. Oh i don't need to get the script right but maybe even song can help me. Regulate itself is is so powerful knocking off out there. I mean that was the impetus for this show is knowing how important music is. It's the reason why we all know. What baby mozart is. Why they say oh. Put it on your belly. It in music changes. Your brain can put you in a different mood. It can grow the neuro plasticity of your brain like there are studies that tell us that kids get better at math than that. Their social skills when they're exposed to music music education the goal. Jackie had this idea with our friend. Michael they brought it over to my living room as a guinea pig. Tester for my kids. Like hey. They looked at my little girl. They were like you like these images. You respond to these songs. And i said what are you doing. They were like well. We're trying to develop a kids show because music. Education is being cut in all public schools right now and my kids go to public school and i was like i. I want them to get as much music education as possible. Because i wouldn't be here without a music. Education sincerely would not have become an actor. It's how i discovered acting. And i have such a profound respect for it and developing the show. It's jackie labels it a sneak. Teach which i love that term. It's an original animated series in. It's it's entertaining but it's also teaching your kids music theory and emotional lesson a musical genre. All in one and like some of my greatest mom moments are when like my kids are begging us. My phone and i need to succumb to that. But i've found a puzzle game where they have to spell and i handed to them with like a sly smile face knowing they're getting educated and the apps that go along with dorian me will be that because they will be able to make music and they will be growing their brains which is really important and i talked to my kids on a daily basis. About how mu. I talked to them on a daily basis about regulation in general about how our bodies need to regulate and about how music can regulate us in. We actually two days ago just built on actual physical toolbox. Because one thing that 'cause i love like science and brain reading end ends parenting reading. And i talked to them a lot about their tools like when they're upset what can you use. What do you want to pull out of your toolbox right now. You've got a hundred things in your toolbox. You gotta take a deep breath. Got an ask an adult. You gotta take a walk around the yard. You gotta take get a glass of water. You got cuddle a dog you got look up at the clouds and find a shape. You've got hundreds of tools a my six year old said wouldn't it be great if we had a real toolbox obviously immediately order real toolboxes in their many and i use as a buy in. I used a bunch of stickers. And i had them decorate the toolbox and then i wrote them all out on note cards like a hundred of them and i was like any of these that you wanna put in your toolbox. You put in there in case you need to locate them and one of them was put on a song you love and sing out loud beautiful. Yeah so powerful. I'm curious if you're open to it. I love to hear about kind of like a real life. Difficult moment in terms of using those tools or how song comes up with your kids. Yeah i mean. I have one child that is fairly introverted. She you know what's weird is i noticed. I was an introvert at thirty seven. And i have been pretending to be an extrovert but all the tests of like do you feel filled up after you go to a party. Or do you feel drained. I was like oh my god. I am the most outgoing introvert. I know but i really need retreat time. I need it and with my closest group of friends. i actually have like code. Where if we're sitting at a table of six or eight like our pod. And i'm three hours into the night and they still wanna hang on. I'm cashed. I will go in the other room and do a puzzle and be in my own head and they know i'm cool like we have like. They know that about you. My oldest daughter is fairly introverted and needs a lot of alone time but doesn't know how to ask for it because she liked me is wants to please as well and one thing we've done that i think is helping though i would love any other tips is we got her a little like ipod touch and loaded her favorite music on it so she has the ability to close out everything as one of her tools if she needs and she doesn't do it like at the dinner table it's not a It's not a chance to ignore. Its when she's feeling in a heightened state she can choose the song two months to regulate to and go upstairs showed us be sitting on her bad and listening for twenty minutes yet. So tricky tricky. I feel like when you know when you're describing that i think about i've two sons and.

Kristen Bell and Jackie Tohn Discuss Their Amazon Prime Preschool Series Do, Re & Mi

"I'm so excited to talk about how this even relate to your show because one of the probably most popular videos on my instagram actually has to do with when our kids are in really tricky moments. Celebrities Wait for 'the Stink' Before Bathing Kids

"Why do we need to know about this showering and bathing habits? Have you seen all this nonsense? Milo Kunis and Ashton started to talk about, well, we don't really wash the kids until he smelled the funk. You know, if you see dirt on them, that's one thing, but other than that, babies, you know, kids get dirty, you know, if we pass the smell test, we don't bathe them every week. Are you fucking kidding me? Have you looked on your children's nails after a few days? What are they playing in hermetically sealed fucking rooms? No germs and dirt get in? I don't know what kind of playgrounds these kids are in and what kind of yards they run around in or whatever the fuck. It's a 108° in Los Angeles. Kids are sweating. You've got to wash your kids. You don't get head smells like after a day or two? Believe me, once these kids are 13, 14, they're gonna change them on. A lot of these celebrities, this whole Dax shepherd and Kristen Bell the same way. We don't really want to get rid of the funk. You know, other people who either teach your kids or culture kids or take care of your kids, let's face it. Most of you have nannies on top of nannies. What do they say? And maybe you're not dating them, maybe they're not, these

Why don't you get this border secure and until you do that. I don't wanna hear a blip about kobe from you. You don't want to hear a blip about a deadly highly contagious virus from the president of the united states. Let me guess you'd prefer his thoughts on the woke this of the us women's soccer team. "Hey it's america. I can watch the ham store but this is why they need to rig elections to win because they're so unpopular in a way. I guess it's not surprising that the people rooting against american sports also tried to dismantle american democracy. And now we have more proof than ever that trump's attempt to subvert last year's election wasn't just a mood swinger temper tantrum. There was a detailed plan with key. Allies in the white house in justice department including one particular hatchet man who came incredibly close to detonating american democracy just days before the deadly january six assault on the capital one of the ex-president's top department of justice officials at the time was circulating a draft letter. That would have helped georgia. Republicans overturned biden's victory in that state. Jeffrey clark who was the acting head of the justice department civil division at the time wrote emails that essentially would have laid out a roadmap and given permission for georgia republicans to subvert the election results. It says in part the department of justice is investigating various irregularities in the twenty twenty election president united states. At this time we have identified. Significant concerns may have impacted the outcome of the election in multiple states including the state of georgia while the department of justice believes. The governor of georgia should immediately call a special session to consider this important and urgent matter if he declined to do so. We share with you our view that the georgia general assembly has implied authority under the constitution. The united states to call itself into special session for the limited purpose of considering issues pertaining to the appointment presidential electors. How is it that there's always a smoking gun with these guys. There's always an email or a phone call or an accidental televised. Confession from rudy giuliani proving. Our worst fears like you can be forgiven for thinking. Petulant trump just got mad and decided on a whim to call the election rigged and then he said rudy to hold a press conference at a landscaping company. Where i'm guessing. He also got his haircut by hedge trimmer. And then it. All just kind of snowballed from there but no rudy. He was just a helpful smokescreen. That let us all think. That's too crazy to work. But they had a much more sophisticated plan than that this guy. Geoffrey clark key justice department official was going to send a letter to georgia's governor and state legislature essentially telling them to overturn their state's election results on the basis of nonexistent voter fraud. And it wasn't just georgia. He was going to send it to all the swing states. Trump wanted to overturn. It turns out that this guy just clark was writing or drafting these types of letters to all the six days that ended up going for a joe biden. And i think that you know what we see is the beginning of the effort to overturn the election. There's always an obscure functionary willing to do the villains dirty work. Jeffrey clark's like the guy opens the monkey cage and the first five minutes of zombie. Movie i mean. Can you imagine what would happen if not trump. But the trump justice department sent out an official statement claiming there was fraud in the election and telling republican legislators in six states. To overturn the results mike lindell would have exploded into a thousand pillow feathers. Or i guess. Since it's a my pillow he would have exploded into one thousand charcoal briquettes charcoal gives the pillow is patented rack like texture and helps to wake up with that fresh kick smell anyway. I'll take your.

"Back kristen. Bell and dax. Shepard are one of our most favorite couples in hollywood anywhere and they are taking opposite sides as the host of new competition. Show family game fight some. Please welcome back to the view. Kristen bell and shepherd has the first question yes welcome to both. We were just talking about how kids body. Image is shaped by how their parents view their own bodies as the parents to two young girls. Does this resonate with you. I think both of my daughters are gearing up to be weightlifter bodybuilders based on my vision of my step one thing that we certainly heard about that and i read about it in parenting books so my main goal is to always talk about high feel. Never how i look like. Oh i feel strong today or i feel healthy today. Are i feel sluggish today to to emphasize feel moving out in the world and never about a body size. Misses the of some of the back. But i will everyone. We are friends with when we vacation together. Everyone has to work out every day. And we don't say anything about it. But i thought that's different behavior than was modeled for me and also you do talk to the girls that i work out for my mental health. Not for mechanical. So i mean we're we don't know what we're doing what we're doing our best to try to alleviate the idea of a certain size being important and i certainly do work out for my mental health and i'm very honest with them about it and just talk about feeling you feel strong you know or dome girls for the girls and tries for the guy. Yes okay well. I'm a fan of your podcast. Armchair expert as our millions and millions of people and last week the internet went nuts. After your guests ashton kutcher and mila kunas said that they only bay their kids when they see dirt on them This actually made me rethink in my bathing. My child too much What was the reaction to the uproar and christian take the same approach and never bay their children unless our start on them is one of i say that god bless ashton to me the first time that did the show there was a a string of press that they were getting divorced and i thought oh my goodness did she. He didn't think eight something. I call them. Oh my goodness no. There's nothing to it now. Yeah they're bad parents. 'cause they but i will say what's interesting is we. We made their children every single night. Our prior to bed is like the routine and then some how they just started going to sleep on their own without the routine him by george we had to start saying. Hey the ubaid them on. That's five six days goes along. They don't smell so you know it's already well they do. I'm waiting for the state or that's that's biology's way of letting you know you need to clean it up because honestly it's just once you get bacteria gotta be like get in the tub or the shower. I don't hate what they're doing. I wait for the thing. Yeah that's how you notice them. That's i hear that you are traveling by a rv. these days. I myself like a bus bus but family chips. I find go much better. That's yeah that vents yearbook meyer vida and look that good but tell me about traveling with the family in in the rv will we just did like eighteen days and It's heaven on earth. I mean we're in a little bubble traveling throughout the country. Mom switch ups nats and the kitchen. Yeah with with well again. Got paid more on that combined. Confined quarters with them so they every three days for some reason. Our family does really well when we're in a really small space like when there's nowhere to go the idea is just like well. We can't or argue we have to work it out. You have to work it out with your sister and so we do really well. When there were christmas vacation for.

How their mothers obsession with their own weight impacted their body image growing up it and the children as young as five who see their parents aren't happy with their bodies are likely to inherit that those bed body image is correct sarah. What are your thoughts on this. I absolutely agree. I think we cycle some of these dysfunctions. But i'm gonna blame my dad to. Let's just throw him under the bus. Because i think both of my parents were talked a little talked a lot too much about weight and food is good and bad. max. And i've completely were still a little dysfunctional on the inside when we look at our own bodies but we will not talk about it in front of the kids and when we talk about food and how they eat. It's all about supporting. We call it brain food and whenever they have booze. I'm like how does it he'll and they're like we sleep. We drink water. We brain food. You know like we were all about just eating for fuel and kind of like treating food more medicinally like the foundation of how you're gonna live and i refuse to pass on the waste of time that i spent most of my life obsessing about my outer packaging win it. It doesn't matter joy. Did anything strike you about this article. Yeah of course. I'm guilty of all of it i'm guilty. I'm so sick of talking about my body. How i look. It's been decades now. It's enough already. You know when somebody dies in a jewish family. And people go to visit you and you're sitting shiva. They put black sheets over the mirror. So you don't look at yourself. It's not about you okay. We need to start thinking like that. Everything is about how we look multiplying my dilemma. Of how do i look house. My hair how fat am i. What am i eating do. I need a facelift. Try to get some more bo. Talks color my hair. Should i go gray. It's constant multiply that by millions and millions of women in the world. it is just deplorable. I am so over it and yet i'm still trapped in it and yes i'm guilty. I probably obsessed about my way. That made my daughter crazy. Sorry i'm so sorry. Megan how how about you. Has this affected you in any way. Now i mean i think it's generational honestly. I was raised with both my parents telling me that it was most important what i thought and what i said and i went on to make a living that is completely based on what i think in what i say. i'm not a beauty pageant person over here. Everybody wants to look good. I like highlighting my hair because i you know i'm from scottsdale and that's what we do I really don't could not actually care less about dieting or anything like that. Because i have so many beautiful things in my life in it. I've never not gotten anything. I wanted with hard work. Because of the way i look are what i way so. I don't know where that comes from. But i don't give a blank at all. Okay sonny quickly before we go. What about you. well. I mean. I was very lucky. I had a mother who always told me that. I was beautiful on the inside and on the outside and i raised my children The same way. I mean it really matters for them to be healthy above all else for them to be happy above all else and i think my mother for that right and me. I've always given zero. You know what we'll be right back..

"With artists, policymakers and performers like Kristen Bell. I always like to say I like being an actress, but I love being Kristen. So I've prioritized that a little bit more than my like desire to spread my wings or prove to people that I could be some dramatic actress. If you like listening as much as I like talking with interesting people that go to here's the thing on the I heart radio app or wherever you get your podcasts. It's night side with Dan Raymond WBZ Easy. Boston's news radio. Okay, back to the calls, we go. Let's get everybody in Glory in Pennsylvania. Gloria, How are you tonight? Welcome Next one night side. Pretty good. I'm hoping you could be my fate because there's something no one brought up yet. Okay? I've been feeling in my bones and I hear from some people every so often. Well, this has to happen this have that's not gonna work it. What if there is an uprising people that people losing their jobs and then the Even the legal ones It's over here from other countries are not happy with these illegals coming over and doing what they're doing, because that's putting a bad mark on them. And what if there's an upright and people says the government can't do anything, we will do it your personal. That's not that zoo called self help on that's what we're all about in this country. Um By the way, I think your point. I think your point about people who come here legally. You're correct. Um, you know, I was lucky enough to be born here. I pulled the Golden ticket. I don't know if you came here if you were born here But for people who have generations that came from other other transition, no problem, no problem. That's that's great Congratulations, but for somebody who came here legally They've now got to be looking around and saying in themselves, So why did I? Why did I go through all of that stuff to get here Legally when other people are coming here legally illegally. I mean, that's been, um um It's up to our government. That's why we have a government to take control Our borders and a lot of people are saying the government's not doing it yet. You better than not you and as a matter of fact, it looks as if The government at this point is going to step back. And look, I think that the Trump Administration did crack down on the border. Put up some border wall. I don't know if they did it perfectly. But it sounds as if the illegal immigration has been reduced somewhat. President Obama deported a lot of people who were here, Um, who and who are dangerous? On. I just hope that it sounds to me like President Biden is being overly influenced by the far left of his party. He's made a lot of promises, and I think he's fulfilling his promises. On elections have consequences, but I don't have to be happy about it. Uh, you know, and and neither do you, Gloria on. I'm glad that you I'm glad you took the time to call in and back me up on this one, because I don't. I think there's a lot of people out there who probably think T. Yeah, There's a lot of thoughts going around that people don't know about all of the thoughts. And I, then what you're saying I don't want I don't want to generate. I don't want to generate any thoughts through this radio station for people are going to engage in in, you know, in take, think the larger than their own hands. We have recon relax. You're better. You're better. Thanks. Gloria. Talked too soon. Have a great I love you right back at you. Thank you. Thank you. Okay. We'll go from glory in Pennsylvania to stew in Pennsylvania Stew. You're next on nights I go right ahead, sir. Hey, Dan Ryan. Last time I talked to you, I was talking about the China Silk Road. And I was the last collar and then that time really to talk about it, but more time now, So you go right ahead. Well, I went to a seminar lecture in New York on that China Silk Road and the Chinese were pushing, uh, that China Silk Road. Which would be a real system with we go through many, many, many countries, and you could look it up on the computer. But there is a culture clash. People being overrun their cultures being overrun. They're not happy. Um there's a much bigger picture to this is for his own concern. And if I wanted to take over a country like America, what I would do is Cloud and Piven. Trojan horse and Yeah, But here's the deal. Here's the deal. Still, stew. Um, we're not talking. I know the road you're talking about. But what way did talk about China a week ago. That's not the subject we're talking about tonight. And I'm afraid that I'm gonna have to ask you to call back some night and get on topic. Okay? I just We're not doing an open line here tonight. What? Well, you're talking about immigrants coming into this country, And if I wanted to take this country over, I would swamp it all week lowered and given this country it's the same thing is a Trojan horse. You have indentured servants now because you were the politician that brought him into this country. They'll do whatever you basically want. And there you have politicians. Basically, they're undermining this country by cloud and proving it and undermining the law. So they're working towards globalism. All right, Fair enough. Appreciate its to talk to you soon. Have a great night. Get back on top of Jim and dead. I'm Jim. Next tonight side. Go ahead, Jim. Oh, Hi, Dan. I hear that two points. One very quick one was about the XL pipeline. And you know there's a demand for oil and there's going to be a demand for oil forever in this country. And what safer? Queener way again, Jim. I hate to do that. I hate him. I hate to do this to, um, but we're really I'm trying to focus tonight. We talked last week about the president's executive order on the XL pipeline. But tonight we're trying to talk about his executive order focus on his executive order. About immigration on But I just, you know, way. I just don't want to open this up and talk about the China silk Road with stew and and go back to the executive to go back to the XL Pipeline. Do you have a thought on The president's executive order, which is frozen deportations for 100 days. Aside from aside from pain, tens of thousands of dollars in taxes in my family pain.

You're talking to both sides your mouth. That's not it it's just. There's a saturation of celebrity. Like beauty. lions right now. I'm not sure how many more we need at like. I'm not sure how. It was like every celebrity became drink. Eventually yeah yeah i just. i'm nervous. Were getting to that point. Yeah i i. I agree with you and i think in general i found my job as somebody. Who's a beauty journalist. Who wants to try things and bring you the best. I found it really hard this year. There was just too damn much. Yeah so naughty naughty to the faceless agency i like it or blaming agents. It's true because those people get money out of it to all right Minority was my naughty mask. Ni twenty twenty two biggest off twenty twenty mask asked matthey okay so you guys know what that is that we didn't it didn't even this existed. We have the name. we had hormonal acne. Get this the american academy of dermatology published research papers. An eighty three percent of healthcare workers in china suffered skin problems on their face this year. Because everybody's walking around in a pp's which great a warm moist environments will logged pours. Acne and i'm just going to add onto acne naughty enough. it's not just acne. I was doing some more research on this and basically what the mass does. It just creates an inclusive environment the same way like your pimple patch does when you're healing pit bull that's good in some cases but not when you're using active ingredients so hey guys out there if you don't have mask knee. Heavy notions really read or the sides. Of your mouth cracking. Maybe he's a retinoid. It's more effective under that hot moist -clusive environment so like you gotta you gotta like pare back on all the active stuff.
