"The website where you go and get a plan get organized. Let's talk about the john deere. Classic rick and leading up to the british interesting field in terms of perhaps as we've talked about some opportunities to find soft spots in the market There will be some guys as always with opportunity to get into the british field on the line. How do you approach a week like this and we always talk about the guy you've got to have when there's a field without big names. Is there a guy you have to have or do you go about building a card in a different way rick. They're certainly guys. I have to have but it is just a little jarring when you're paying essentially two thousand dollars more for every single one of these names that you normally pay for just got up to readjust then reassess Kind of change your perspective a little bit. I mean the someone like a kevin in to me. He's ninety seven hundred dollars on draftkings. There's a handful of guys more expensive than am. I find him to be pretty intriguing. He i believe he has legitimate winning upside. We have seen him do that in much more difficult fields over the course of his career. He's starting to a lot better. Which is great for him because he's been generally sour for most of his career and he came off. Miscut really missed the cut by a shot. Which i don't really care about but the four stars before that have all been top twenty so i think he's someone that Is sneaky live to win this golf tournament. Rick rick run. Good dot com. Gimme another guy or two that you believe in a field like this has legitimate a win or at least be in the mix on sunday capability. Yeah i think. I think it's a very short list but the one that i think is miss price. The most is probably kramer. Hickok seventy seven hundred and he's probably like sixty sixty one or seventy two one depending on where you're looking he is. I was impressed. Not only with the fact that he went eight holes harrison english and a playoff two weeks ago. But that's that could very easily been a draining experience. The fact that even made the cut last week in detroit on of course. That probably doesn't fit him. That well i thought was impressive. So now he goes to a place. That is a much better fit. We know trending in the right direction. We know he's kind of knocking on the door a little bit. I think he's one of the few guys further down the list. That actually has win equity rick one of the things that i do. Is i scan the cheat sheet looking for guys as i get a little bit lower a little bit lower who maybe last year at this time. From a draft kings pricing perspective would have been much higher and We talk about guys and the runs that they go on from a perception standpoint..

"A lot of sports on tv. It's late june. There shouldn't be a lot to watch but it was hot outside. I gave myself a break from the sport that is diminishing returns for me right now which is golf and i watched a lot of sports. This weekend. I watched a lot of the golf last night. That was incredible. The eighteen hole playoff In which cbs Didn't give you the playoff record in terms of the number of sudden death holes of all time until harris english and kramer hickok were on their seventh sudden depot. You didn't know what the record was. I don't think they knew what it was. And then they finally on the seventh playoff hole. Put up the list of the all time longest playoffs. It's eleven holes back in nineteen forty nine. That's the longest in sudden death playoff holes. This win tied for second. There have been other eighth hole. Sudden death finishes harry english. Finish off kramer hickok with a birdie. Putt on the eighth playoff hole was very dramatic. and With a lot of fun to watch I watched that. I watched soccer which i'm going to spend a little bit of time on. I promise very little. I watched the nba all weekend. Long i watched the nats all weekend long And i just watched right here. In my studio francis tee off oh upset the number four seed. At wimbledon stefanos. Cipla's the guy that got to the final and lost to djokovic the french open in that epoch match frances. Tiafoe for those of you. Who don't know is twenty three years old. He's ranked fifty seventh in the world and he's from college park. He was a part of that huge college park tennis facility that they have out there. That's produced t. off. Oh and other players as well. There's a it's become a big time tennis facility out in college park. I think they built that thing. Ten years ago something like ten years ago and T afo is the first major player to be produced out of that tennis center. So good for him. He's twenty three. He's the first player since two thousand four the first american since two thousand four to beat a top five player at a major. That's pretty incredible. It's been seventeen years since a us. Men's tennis player has knocked off a top five player at a major Good for frances tiafoe. Congratulations to him. So i watched a lot of soccer this weekend And this is the reason why simply put. I'm intrigued that. The rest of the world is watching Belgium portugal as an example yesterday In belgium okay. Eighty two point. Five percent of the available televisions were tuned in to belgium portugal. Okay one point five million viewers and a roughly one hundred and thirty three thousand internet users And then something called audio. I don't know what that is The rest of the world yesterday consumed belgium and portugal. More than any other sporting event this entire year so other than the super bowl globally. Yesterday's belgium portugal match may have been the most watched sporting event. I don't know that. For a fact i just know how important it was to. The rest of the world It it was massive. Because it's the number one ranked team in the world. Belgium who by the way is not even the favourite in this tournament against portugal. The defending champions defending euro cup champions. Who have rinaldo so. It was a major heavyweight matchup. I watched a lot of that game yesterday and belgium one at one to nothing and i bet belgium before this tournament i bet him at plus five fifty to win the whole thing the tournament started and i bet them your Two days ago at plus seven hundred. They're actually a longer shot to win it now that they're in the final sixteen. I guess they weren't very impressive in group stage and other teams were But they pulled off the win over portugal. They're into the quarter-finals. I just find the fact that the rest of the world finds it so fascinating That i want to give it a shot. And i'd give it a shot many times over the last call at ten years world cups and euro cups in particular world. Cups definitely I don't love the game. It i find it to be a hard watch at times. You know the The drama of the fake injuries Drives me crazy. I mean i just. Don't i understand what they're trying to do. They're trying to draw fouls they're trying to draw. You know yellow and red cards. There can trying to draw all that stuff i just. I can't stand to watch it. You know half the time. There's barely any contact. And you know twenty five percent of the time there's no contact and twenty five for twenty five percent of the time it would be like a solid tackle in the nfl not a big hit not a blow up it just as solid. You know. Physical tackle at some more like ten percent of the time actually so. I hate that. I hate win. It looks like you're gearing up for maybe a shot on goal and then they turn around and they kick it backwards and then that guy kicks it backwards and then it ends all the way up with you. Know all the way back to the goal. I don't i don't like that. There's not enough action in that. Such the typical american response. But i do appreciate the skill and the athleticism look. I'm a basketball fan. I love basketball. I played basketball. I've coached basketball I think basketball players are the greatest all around athletes That there are but soccer players are really really skilled and athletic. There's no doubt i get that part of it. I'm sure there's a lot of strategy involved. And i can see it on some of the corner kicks in some of the penalty kicks in some of the attacks on occasion..

"See the way that off ended. Yesterday it went on and on and it was spectacular with the travelers championship in playoff holes. Now it's harris english and kramer hickok. This is the second playoff hole. they're playing number eighteen. This is hickok with a very long birdie to win all the way. His family is there watching from a distance because he doesn't know they're there and they were that close to seeing him win. Look at the reaction of the family. They can't believe it cantilever. Can i do that not go down now. We're on the fifth playoff hole. It's number seventeen on the golf course. This is another birdie. Putt for haycock to win another one. That is every inch of the. What does family can't believe it. English would make a par. Putt going to another playoff sixth playoff hole now peacock with this along part. That's for par. That's just to keep his chances alive. He makes it for english. Would step up with a chance to make this birdie for the win. And he doesn't talks to a whole he can't believe it. Hickok watching from a distance knows we got more to play now on the eighth playoff hole tied for the second longest playoff in the history of the tour. We're on eighteen. That's english four-birdie and the wind. They wanna up playing a total of ten times this week in and he ended his harris english who wins the travelers championship. After two hours of playoff hole. "Like did you learn anything about kramer hickok this this you know other than you has somewhat close assimilation with jordan spieth. I've learned deep. Would discovery landco. He's got a different discovery. Land co. property on his hat every day which is actually kind of a clever sponsorship by them just like same rogo. You're the revival of sponsor of. Because i find that stuff i find it. I find it interesting. Always given free shoutouts. You're always giving expect to see the maybe the highest end development company. I don't know it. Just it of caught me off guard and i was like. Oh that's a different property than it was yesterday. I don't know sorry. His his biggest observations. That's that was an observation. I had i stared at half or two hours. There wasn't much else think about his biggest takeaway from the women's pga was the trader joe's was sponsoring two that was my biggest takeaway that was l. Takeaway is that trader. Joe's notorious for not advertising anywhere on the internet is sponsoring. Lpga players too late. That was interesting. Who mo and i think pernilla manila. Yeah no there on asleep. And i just thought that was fascinating. That was also a personal thing. Because they're like notorious. When i was at google for giving the middle finger to google like we will never spend money on digital we will. We will put that money back into lower prices for our customers just like this fall for bringing it up. This is my fault for breaking up. So yeah i mean you're asking me for takes a few and their sponsor related sorry in baker-finch on ironically said that because the last playoff that went five holes was won by jordan speed that that might give kramer hick the advantage rewound it. He said advantage. You man might have the advantage but you know last. Five hole playoff was won by jordan. Speed does good. The for injury is gonna bella checks tree by the end of his career like anybody tangentially related to the west coast offense for for for being friends with them and pounded that story line in. But was kramer or harris. I was kind of blacked out there for a second which one did. Ibm say had to be a good bloke because somebody's brother introduced them to his now. Wife did you guys catch out. I think that was kramer. I thought that was kramer's well. Yeah it was like all. I think it was like a true. Like what if they shot in the face like well. What if the brothers and astle seen well she got in on the action saying that that kramer his mannerisms look like speeds when he was hitting that bunker shot like like the related. I don't think that's i don't i guess. I mean a lot of golfers. Wagle nervous energy. I don't know. But i mean eight holes you try to fill trying to fill air there so that i'm gonna i'm gonna pass on their reach in probably ran out of their notes for stuff on kramer hickok you know it's a classic vernon the booth who the hell is happy. Gilmore does slow smith those fedex profiles are only really serious love the fedex file. It cuts off pretty quick two hours. I think you can work in a mentioned that kramer hickok also has the same swing coach of the same group of people at altus as jordan speak. Does if you want to do this thing like you know. Explain some things about him where he where he plays out. I learned nothing other than they bought huge bottle of wine when they went to napa. And you know that there waiting to open it or whatever. And i don't know it's i was like fuck. Am i gonna have to come up with. Some hiccups takes snakes. I haven't learned anything from this broadcast from him. But anyway i think he was my young hitter at some point. Mine sure positive. Yes okay somebody anything about your team members. Somebody that looks like my head. I don't know you're you're relying rely on the broadcast for takes on on kramer. Yeah let's discuss you. Don't you dare sally. That's running away with fred runaway. Draftkings need somebody to challenge me in something. Come on. you're not running away in the f. One standings that's rigged Jason day. I wanted to just what i want to say about jason day. Is that if you hurt. Take some time off. And get fixed. But i i do get sick of every time he hit a bad shot is when his back hurts not when he hits a good shot and if he's hurt. I appreciate your playing through pain. But it's it's just over the top with the theatrics or the you know the grimacing but it's only on the bad stuff even on like a bad putt and it reminds me of playing high school sports and the guy that gets beat over the top the corner then. He grabs his hamstring. You know in one on one drills It's only when something goes wrong. Then something now something wrong with me and i just gotta hated that kid when i played you know whatever kid. Everyone had the kid on their team. And i just it just bugs me because i don't want to like i don't want rag on jason day if he's hurt but he's not doing himself any favors by selectively grimacing. That's what it feels like to me. It's and maybe maybe yet. Some of the bad shots because he's in pain. I'm sure that's obvious. But if you've got back province hurts when he hit a good to right like. I don't know it's just that so sorry. I'm the soapbox. I love that. Take neil i. I will stand behind you one thousand percent on that. I am the same way. I've no patience for people. That selectively are in pain. You know like come on you. Guys would not have been friends in high school because every time this ankle. I just can't get moving away taking away. You got if you want. If you're playing through pain. I appreciate that but don't tell me about it every time. Something's going wrong. You know who's related to that sally. Speaking of basketball is like where's my help. Guy look whereas well toasted on like a back door cutters so yes. Oh god come on man. Gosh that was a bad team reports. You guys keep making but wanna give a shout out to bryce guard nets week. "Years is so long to go in search of something when you were once the best player that we're one five majors in three years and now can't find the club face and was just so i don't know like i remember seeing her game bridge like chasing it to like hunting on a ca- down like yeah. That's exactly what i was gonna say for advice and stuff like that and should the hunger is still there but like it's not even close and just like she was no one following the group but i just saw her hit that shot and just like slump over and just like kind of stuck with me of like fuck pro golfman like it. Someone that you know has been kind of forgotten in the pro. Golf world is still out there trying to do it and putting in the effort ended. Just kinda made my heart sink a little bit. She i mean just a tie a bow on that like this year on on the lpga tour. She's made One two three four five six seven eight starts seven cuts in d. Q has not shot under par in in any round and has shot in the eighties. Five times So i'm with you saw that kind of it. Hit me a little bit at cambridge. Seen her you know look like she was pretty emotional talking to ana cut just you can tell she's searching I'm i'm glad you brought that up. That's it's tough and then yeah. The very last thing. I had was just following. Lauren are young hitter. Who started the own. This mentor now has status on the lpga tour playing in her in her second. Second major It was fun yet. Also like i feel a little too close to it and like i was up and down i go. I couldn't. I couldn't enjoy it because i was to invested. You know too much. I'd walk away for a couple of holes and come back and her husband's texting the hole by hole. Updates hope that she made the cut she and missing the cut by two but that was simultaneously really fun yet. Like gosh it's hard to get like super invested in someone's play and and really enjoy the ups and downs of it. I can't imagine the actual family members how they how they do that on week to week. Basis yeah yeah but it's an thoroughly enjoyed. The experience of you know fall in a single group for a whole round especially someone like lauren. Even if we weren't you know kind of in her corner sponsoring her somebody that knows hungry in a it. Just it's awesome because there's no one else around but you can just feel how important is like how much pressure is on them and they're not in. There's there's nobody there to even experience it. So when you're like one of the only people out there experiencing that you know how important every fifa puppies and it comes down to one or she missed the cut by two strokes but it comes down to one or two short putts just a reminder for for me because i had done that in a while of over the course of five hours how hard it is you so focused on all because it comes down to one or two shots and it's like my god. You know that putt on put onto like damn man that's brutal so it makes me feel some things and that's what it's all about so i can't wait to go do that again. You maybe on guitar picker. I remember we did that. A heritage with with With billy horseshoe longtime ago. We've fallen for a whole round on friday when he's gonna cut line and i almost remember him. Look it over after a few holes of us falling and being like who the hell are these guys like. What are you doing out here. That's no one's must be watching me right now. Like i'm i'm i'm grinding and it's not going well and i think that's the most interesting thing to watch solid did you. Did you see sung yung park at all. That is that. Is i if anybody listening has any insight like what is happening there. 'cause i add to my knowledge. There's not an injury which is almost more troublesome. i've watched her on the range plenty. She looked healthy. She just was standing over drivers a long time. Really longtime again. We're talking another former one number one player in the world in one case gbs. Pj in two thousand eighteen and kemper lakes when we were there and it's kind of spray. A couple drives off to the right. When i was watching her and was kind of you. Know doing the film thing looking at the swing afterwards like was clearly grinding and wasn't in a great place But i just remember like i filmed a couple of swings and it's kind of like trying to time win depress record and like she just kept standing over santa over. Now's like this done. I didn't quite quite feel right so way. But yeah just can't figure out what's going on. There hate to hate to say the why word but hopefully it's not that i think it's officially kpmg women's pga Tell it was gonna juices flow in a little bit this week and you know just being out there in person and and just the players excitement for people to be out there covering it like we were like that. I don't know that really that really resonated with me and and anyways so onto travelers legit all i got to see was the eighteenth hole and then ended the playoff. I don't know if you guys have more than you saw this point. I saw bubba kinda melting down on the second screen. I had today i was. I was watching on a flight. I was flying back and forth between nbc and cbs and they almost almost like synchronize. The booth interview with the ceos of kpmg and and travelers. And i was like man. That is some some serious price-fixing from a coverage standpoint. But i saw your bubble seem to be vibing and then the flight lands. I get off the plane and i look i get my bag and i go out to get to ride. And it's like. He's made three bogeys in a row than double. I mean just ejection. So i don't. I didn't see it that he was he freaking out or what you guys any knowledge of that. I don't think you know this wasn't a pray for out the original i think. Pray for ted scott. Was that coming from this. Time was the sixteenth hole at this tournament. Back in two thousand eleven or something like that. Yeah i think bubble has more perspective these days. I don't think it was a freak out situation. But i didn't. I wasn't watching. So i don't know exactly how he got himself in trouble. He laid up on the thirteenth hole. A par five from two forty three It's water involve guessing. Just had a bad number and didn't want want to you know go for it ends up making there than bogies fourteen bowie. Fifteen bogeys sixteen doubles seventeen. Bogeys eighteen To finish t nineteen when he was in the lead So listen that's not good Not good not good but we do get eight some dramatics on the eighteenth hole where harris english drains a putt from. I can get the exact distance. Twenty seven feet eight inches to get thirteen under par kramer. Hickok is in the final group. It's a which to eight feet..

Yeah, but it's amazing that a guy who hits it to 40 Goes against Doc Redman and Kramer, Hickok and Matt Jones. And all these guys, you'll probably averaged 300 yards. You know, Dae so windy probably only made 2 40 down with you. But that's good for for Fred Baku. Nice man. Wonderful guy. Really good guy. Yeah, they were weird driftwood hats. I think they're gonna be out on them. He bought a line out there is what I was from. Yeah, Think think think Kramer's dead. It is, well, Fred shot of 75. Today. He's a plus three currently in 61st placed but say that is great for a 64 year old guy, and I get Scotty and Ray. He joins. Ah, Jack Nicklaus and Sam Snead and Tom Watson at that age, making a cut in a PGA Tour event, which is an old Tom Morris of all time are sure, PGA. Yeah, well, speaking of aged players doing well, Tom cut Shot his age yesterday shot better than his age yesterday with the 67, then a 70 today, so he really did it twice. He's in the middle of the field at Boca Raton. Where the senior tour are the champions and who is leading that event of their park. Darren Clarke, the man whose weight has been fluctuating, but he is really playing some great golf. Yeah, Darren Clarke and Robert Carlson are tied for the late JEM. Pure IQ is one back. We're going to visit with our good buddy Eric Lopez, the head pro at large Municipal, and he can tell you how you can get on the golf course and what you can expect from the golf course. And you could expect beautiful fairways from large, visible No touchy today didn't have to touch the ball at all in the fairway, but I got to tell you, the rough is a little high out there. It's high. It's It was a challenge today, but we had a had a wonderful time out there with your brother Brian and Tim. Well, that's the thing about Bermuda rough. It's a little dicey. Sometimes you don't know what the ball's going to do when it comes out of there, whether it's going to tumble. Whether it's just going to die, and the green's out it meaning we're not. We're not going to say they were in pristine shape because I think they caught the crew a little bit by surprise. They only gave him four days notice that they were going to open back up. But all in all, it was a great golf experience in the Ranger, just going to get better and better and better. As time goes on, they will. They will on again. Eric Lopez coming up in just a little bit on the show, also coming up on the show, a visit whether good friend John Patrick of the Augusta Golf Show. He has a top top golf show in the South. And John, of course, by living in Augusta, Georgia, has his his hand on the pulse of what's going on in Augusta National. And we heard earlier this week, Scotty that Fred Ridley and crew have said they're going to carry on with the golf trumpet, but no patrons and no guest. You have been going to Augusta since the 19 eighties. Every year on when you have maybe five was my first master and you've not made so that would be 35 consecutive years, going 35 consecutive years, But That streak is in danger for you this year. Well, my streak is in danger. I don't think that being an agent, I'm going to get access. I mean, the patrons aren't so I doubt if agents were goingto have high priority. Yeah, we're kind of low on the totem pole Now. You on the other hand with the press corps. What is it? Normally 6 800 a lot? Yes. 600. They've got a magnificent press room. You know, I don't expect to be on the list because I know at last week's PGA Championship. They had a lot of the national people, you know, like Doug Ferguson AP and they had ESPN the Golf Channel, of course, and the CBS Boys. Radio wise. They had a couple of people from the PGA to radio even though I've been going a long time, which thank you for you and Ben Crenshaw been gotta have had a press pass a long time. I don't expect to be on the list because I think they're going to really pared down and I'm not so sure they'll allow reporters on the golf course as they did last week at the PGA Championship. Yeah, I know. It's you know, it was it was fun talking to our friend Geoff Shackelford live from the press room there and by the way, let me just say this. I did not say it works scepters. Ah, self destruction coming? Wow. You know, he talked about how he didn't recognize any of the players that were upon the leader Howard with him. Except for Dustin Johnson, he said. I don't really know these other guys is a real put down to and they talk about Dustin. I only has 11 major. I don't know. You know, you could be cocky. But then there's that. You know you had to go over the cliff. There sometimes will be an arrogant. I thought that was bad form for him, but again kept some people might like him. I don't think he's he's beloved. He's got a bit of a chip on his shoulder does does now he's had a great record. Let's face it, and maybe not recognized like a Phil Mickle soon or You know, even like a Justin Thomas or Rickie Fowler had morning. Any mates, right? Right. But but kept good, you know, continues to whether it's taken shots. A TTE poke, you know? Yeah, they sedation about Sambo and You know, he's just guess he he thinks he's the smartest guy in the room or the best player in the room. You better step up. I think he's been mad over the long years because he hasn't got the respect even though he's one the major championships as he has he still when they when I know, I guess he got mad a couple years in Augusta after day one. They he was watching the was he was watching the golf Channel, they said notables. And he was not a listed among the notables and he shot like 72 they didn't add him on the list, and it made him really, really mad so well. He's a big talent and look. He was just one stroke behind Tiger last year at the Masters. I think you didn't have a birdie putt on 18 to top. Maybe he was right there right there, And so He is due respect me. That's the case, but Okay, let's you know, let's win again and and back up. What you're saying is, I guess what what to say? Yeah, I've got a good tournament going. We do. It's the wind and plastic in Greensboro, North Carolina. That's where Sam Snead used to win all the time. This is a big one, because this has been a strange year for golf, starting up only back in June with Colonial and this is a tournament that will determine The top 1 25 go on to the playoffs. So this is a big week for a lot of people, but the wind and plastic they've concluded their play for today. They played early today. And it was tape delayed on TV. Understand, Scotty, You said they were going to play early tomorrow, which burns made and knowing if they're going to play early, CBS and our friend Lance Barrow should call the Golf channel today. We want live. We want to give you a live golf coverage. Let's put it on the golf channel. But they don't do that. You know, they have the tape delay, which drives me to drink. I don't like that. Well, and you always call me and say, Can you believe somebody did this? Oh, yeah. It is a spoiler. I do the spoiler on you. Yeah, so they're going to play tomorrow morning. But right now, Si Woo Kim, from Korea and now of Dallas, is a leader by two. Over Rob Oppenheim and Doc Redmond. I've never heard of Rob Oppenheim. Doc Redman won the U. S Amateur couple years ago. Beat Duggan. They're both at minus 16. Billy Horseshoe, Eliza minus 15. Now, the Austin area guys Dylan for Telly. Is tied for 18th. He's been playing really well. I tip my hat to Dublin for tally. Former guest on the show He's at minus 10. Kramer Hickok, former long corners at minus nine. He's tied for 23. I think he's need up. He needs the help to get to the 1 25 Jordan. Spieth continues to struggle. Jordan is tied for 67th. Sergio Garcia had a bad day today. He tied for 70. Is it 75th. He needs to have a low score to get in the playoffs. And Andrew Landry of Austin is tied for 36. I just don't know what's Sergio? I don't know if we can make it now being that's so far down the leaderboard. Yeah, I think what happened to wanting this week? He made a mistake. You know, I need to check in. See Eno Ball. Bo Hosler. Mr. Cut part Mexican, but Teo Lee. That is so tough for Nick, who had the codes and what What a disappointing few much for our friend Bo Hosler, who couldn't could miss a cut..

They're going to start rotating their dinner around the state, which you've been to a few times ahead and I think it's been a good It's a good idea. I think it is, too, because you need to get people fired up about the Texas golf all of fame. And there's no better way than going from location to location. As a matter of fact, I think that's a wonderful idea. And when the PJ was here a few years ago, that was a great event were at with all the PJ members of America and a lot of the former pros. Yeah, on Dal Offensive Wall Jr. Who is the poet, Colonial Country Club and then Oh kills is going in under the historic golf courses. So great news from San Antonio Big news yesterday from UT Golf Club. That's right with Bentley Cotton, who's going to be a freshman freshman at the University of Texas is here. She's just got out of west like high school and put her name in the hat for the Texas State Women's Amateur. The 99 sedation. And Lo and behold, she won yesterday and becomes one of the great winners and what a great honor for Bentley Cotton to win the Texas State Women's Amateur. She said it to Pinehurst to play in the north South. So congratulations. Obit Lee Cotton Sad note in the world of golf this week in Austin, Tim Wolfson, our friend. It was a two time winner of the firecracker died this week and no friend of yours, friend of mine. And what a nice nice, nice man. Jim Wilson Wass. Tim always had a smile on his face. He's what we affectionately refer to Teo is kind of one of the Munich rats back in the back in the day, Tim went to McCallum. One, the firecracker back to back, which is rare in 74 75 but you could find him around the putting green immunity and playing golf with Holsman brothers or Really Claggett or some of the other Great Austin players at any given time, and AH, great family man of Tim will be missed. He was really part of the Austin got family. He really, really Wass PGA Tour is playing up at Jack's place in Dublin, Ohio. This week. It's the workday charity Open. Ironically, they're going to play the memorial event next weekend at the same course and play is completed for the day and former major winner Justin Thomas is the leader in our scoreboard. Report. Leaderboard report is Brought to you by Mahdi's Tex Mex Justin Thomas shot a smooth move in 66 today. He's got a two shot lead over the man from nor they Victor have land from Oklahoma State. Victor also shot 66. He's two shots off the pace. Three shots off the pace was the guy who had the four shot lead going into the day. Colin Morikawa. He shot an even par 72 he is three shots off the pace. Sand burns. This is minus 11. Kevin Streelman. It is it minus 11 and Ian Poulter and Rory Sabbatini are both at minus 10. Not a good week for the Texas delegation. Lordy Jordan Space Scottie Scheffler. Bo Hosler did not make the cut. Nick Watney did not make the cut from Austin. Andrew Landry from Austin did not make the cut. Johnny Vegas, the former Longhorn did not make the cut. No wonder you think I guess Those guys were just gonna hang around the Columbus, Ohio area are they might have got Theo Learjet and fired it up and Justin might have gone back to Dallas. But what do you do if you're one of the players and you miss it Cut? Well, I think you just stay up there. I mean that. The memorial next week is a very prestigious tournament and big money too. And big money. And so I got a feelin any of them that are eligible will be up there now. Kramer Hickok was the first alternate this week. Did he make it? I didn't see his name it off. No, he won't be there. But I tell you who will be there next week. Tiger Woods. Tiger Woods made that announcement this week. He's going to play and that's nice because Plain and the guy he wants to beat his major record. Jack Nicklaus. So that's good to have Tiger back in the field. The name that intrigued me intrigues me. I don't know if he can come back from five is Kevin Streelman. Kevin Streelman was on a string of making no cuts. And then he finished second place to Justin Dustin Johnson two weeks ago, and he's one of those journeymen players. You never think of. You see him every now and then, and I looked it up the character you much money. Kevin Streelman is made on the PGA Tour finish career. Well, 12 million bucks. I'm just going to throw it at their $20 million this guy is seems like a very nice guy, but he's just out there. He's made 20 $1,000,000. But I think Justin Thomas is going to be hard to catch tomorrow because he's a smart golfer. Interesting to see if Victor have land off. Norway will make the move and become the first Norwegian golfer. Toe when he had one yet as the the won't know one. Yeah. Let me ask you something. If you remember what happened a year ago for us saw Justin telling us exactly right A year ago. Today we saw Justin Thomas. Me and Kevin Kisner at north Barrack in Scotland. Where we we were staying and we were playing and we went saw them play the number 16 whole pot on the 16 green the Berry It's Breer its merits greater it and had a nice visit with Kissinger and Justin Thomas. As they were having a little fun before the start of the Scottish Open last year. Yeah, so well, not a bad transition, though, for Justin Thomas and Kissinger had bloody finished second last week or any way at top 10. Finish out one more thing quickly before we break. John Patrick, our friend from Augusta, who we had all last week on Facebook posted a story from Golf Digest. Apparently, according to the golf Channel Monday, the PGA Tour is going to announce No more fans at any tournament, Scotty for the rest of the year, No fans and no pro Am And that's not good news..

"A look right now at the WGC may Dustin Johnson has a four-shot lead sixteen under par and ROY McElroy is twelve under. So he's four back. Patrick read getting ready for Augusta lurking around. But he's all for good player. Patrick grade. Patrick can't Lee Sergio Garcia and Cameron. Smith are all nine under par tat for third place. But they are seven back yet. Yeah. And Dustin Johnson stumbled he had gone. I don't know how many holes. At least forty five holes with no bogey, and he double bogeyed number ten, but he came back, and he leads by four. I'm not sure if anybody can catch it but robbery what around today by Patrick green seven-under-par. Patrick Canley was also six under par Sergio's in a nice position. But way way back there. Tiger Woods started out very very fast. He birdied the first hole but finished only one hundred and he's tied for ninth place. And I'm looking down for the list. I'm looking I'm looking I'm looking I'm looking for Jordan Spieth, where is Jordan Spieth? Oh, my where Jordan Spieth looking on this list. This is not good George speeds is tied for fifty nine. He's plus six he was four over for the day. I know he's he's he's he's got a heavy heart because his caddy micro growlers father passed away and Jordan's dad is caddying for him. But Jordan speed got out of sorts last week in LA scouting, he's not got back into sorts. He had an awful Sunday. Didn't he? I think one on Sunday. So we keep thinking Jordan's ready to start playing four consistent rounds of got. But he's just not quite there yet. Yeah. Yeah. And this is a WDC Mexico of the other tournament this week with the guys that are not in the top sixty four is a port thirty go open. And what's the leaderboard? Look lacking, pork dot Aaron better sleep battery. He's a great fro from Australia, twelve under par. We'll talk about him for a minute. But we'll go down the board. Nate Lashley is eleven hundred one bag Martin trainer ten under Joey Garber nine under a Martin pillar or pillar. Yeah. Is nine hundred twelve Kramer, hickok is fourteen under. He's he's a he's tied for fourteenth place. Well, that's good climbers playing really well he had a good tournament out in Los Angeles. He's on his first year on the PGA tour. Good for Kramer, six hundred. And and so if he finishes top ten he gets to play the next week. I think that'll tell if I him for Honda. That's great. So that's a big deal finishes. Tamar our old, buddy. Omar your rusty was in the field. Oh, man, shot seventy one than seventy seven didn't make the cut. But I was looking encouraging for Omar after that first round seventy-one are leaderboard report brought to you by the Salt Lake barbecue. Well with us now on the couch. J live line to talk about etiquette. And talk about golf is our friend barbecue who wrote the book on it. It's called golf etiquette. She in our friend Jimmy Applebaum wrote this book, a book a few years ago, and Barbara, of course, is the leading one of the leading female teachers and all of Austin student herself Harvey Penick and Barbara welcome back to sports Saturday, the fifth. Eighth club. And how are you? I am fine. It's like a summer day today. Seventy three degrees. I'll tell you what it was a good week. I was telling starting on mixing I played a plate four times this week. I was lacking with summertime summertime out there. I'm glad you called. I'm glad you called because we were talking about two big issues Barbara the pace of play and the players with some of these outbursts. On the golf course. And I want to get your thoughts on the pace of play. 'cause we talked about last week j b homes in the last group in Los Angeles took almost five and a half hours to play. How does the AGA remedy this, Barbara, you know, I'm not sure how they do it. I mean, they could suspend players like they do at the university of Texas with my suspended Roach. What for but I don't know what the answer is for the it's just a hard one. I remember several years ago when the twelve year old played in the masters, and he was the only one that was was penalized for slow play. But it's it's hard to the PGA. I have complete with a, but the problem that I see is slow playing general. And I think often it's because the PTA should listen to this the PJ is when everyone watches they should be the example of how it's done and instead of this. But I always we always tell people they're applied for a lot of money. If you know, it's the stresses there. But but I do something. On a positive way. What I'm teaching now because of a flow play out over and that is I tell people positive way along the you look at that golf all the tensor, you get and I'll never forget you remember Harvey painting Saint take that in. You know, why you said that he didn't want you look at it. The gospel. Hit it. And I'll never forget when I was putting and I was looking at standing over. And he said, Barbara, what are you thinking about looking at the ball? And I said, well, I'm not sure Harvey. And he said, well, you know, where the ball is Barbara. What did you look where you're going? Oh that. Okay. And but even teaching it now and with new players, I tease them, and I say, I don't care how long you look at your target. But when you look down you hit it within three seconds there. I'm coming to get your ball. And they laugh, wait. You don't make fun of it. But it's true, Scott, you, you all know that the longer you look at the longer, you think the worst against don't you agree. I couldn't agree more, and you know, Ben's daddy when he was teaching him to play along with Harvey instead of saying take dead aim if been stood over too long. He he and he said this even when Ben was a pro he'd say just hit it just headed. And that was just a different way to say. Take dead. Aim barbara. Yeah. Barbara we watch on TV and see the players emotions bubble over not only in taking too long to play and not being ready when it's their turn which I know in your book is number one on the on the least things you want to do list. The way they behave on. The course you've got you've got to be an example for these young people on on how exactly and you know. And I've tried to do it problem as it has to be done in a positive way. Because if it's negative don't like golf or something will come up, and you know, I remember oh gosh. Sometimes my what else Harvey had always said, oh, he always said, let's just take one practice wing. He said if you take to which one you use I mean. A better way to say. That's what I tell people. You don't want to take too much. Let's just take one. And you know, when I take people on the golf course, you know, too. Many people are taught in scrambles, and I don't I teach them. I think you've got your and I'll be on the first day, and I'll show them I'll show them number nine. And I'll say I don't care what you hit it ticket carry it or throw it you're going to be over there in two hours or less, and you know, they need to hear that. So it because it what it does. It takes away the fear. They have a playing off in the first place and all anyone is going to care about it is that you're there in less than two hours. But anyway, I I blame the boss I blame us all a little bit ourselves because of all the technology and thinking, and and and you know, I always think about when they train dogs. They found out that dogs much better with reward. And I'm thinking, well, why don't we reward some of those players when they play in less than less than off on Saturday. Why don't we give them all a new Goth ball, it feels city should you know, four hours or last? I don't know there's just so many different ways. But you're. Right. It's it's they watch the only model that people watch for golf. Unfortunately, it's the tour, and I I'm not sure what they can do about it. What are your suggestions? You know, a Cadillac your idea? I mean, maybe with the kids you give them a couple of golf balls if they finish in a certain finish nine holes in a certain amount of time or with ED's group on Friday morning about give him a beer when they. There's different ways to there's different ways to achieve. What you and I got a little bit Barbara because I had had a young girl from I t last week that came to do a little interview. And the last thing I told her her name was. Mary sophia. Shakespeare, and the last thing I told her I said, whatever you do get two books. Get the little red book and get golf etiquette by Barbara pilot and Jimmy Appelbaum. And I mean that is the way to get kids started. It's also the way to get adult started. And I noticed your golf one a one you're doing lessons for women that you're starting again in March, right? Intimidation is the number one reason people do not play intimidation. And and you know, if they know what if they don't a little etiquette, or they know what's expected of them. And I always tell people the reason it's the best game is because what you do does not determine other people's get done. I guess wants you to hurry up and do it. You know, it's it's the best game. But but I think you're right. I think at all they be taught in a positive way. Instead of don't do this don't do this don't, you know, just say, this is why we wanted this. This will have play but this will help your game. Now, that's the incentive to get people to look at look at your take a day. Name look down you better. Go ahead hit within three seconds our attention and the brain will take too much day. So dude. Helps your game. That's what people will do. It helps you win. The Dell matchplay comes in a few weeks, and we see Bryson day Shambo out there talking about the air pressure and the Wendover like Austin and stuff. I will just say, hey, you need to read Barbara's book their cowboy and maybe he'll play a little faster. Maybe he will. Why don't we handy McCarthy? Let's say if he looks at its founding, Barbara thank you so much for the right time. On the TV 'cause y'all have humor with everything about it. We like to five thanks so much. We'll see if the Dell matchplay barbecue at one of the leading golf instructors in Austin, and guys let me tell you what she's great. She just doesn't teach girl she teaches a lot of man and a lot of young people, and she does a wonderful wonderful job. And when you visit with Barbara on the t box, you're sort of visiting with Harvey panic, I think because of a Harvey's Harvey's wisdom that he passed onto Barbara. That's for sure she's one of those branches of the tree Harvey Todd. A lot of the teachers are still teaching out there today..
