America Is Facing a Ketchup Packet Shortage
"From wondering. I'm david brown. And this is business words daily on this thursday april fifteen. There are two kinds of people in this world. those who slather catch up on everything and everyone else. If you love nothing more than a pile of fries doused in the red stuff well brace yourself for some bad news. Ketchup is the latest victim of the pandemic shortages. Yes throughout this past year. We've been keeping you updated on products that have been wiped out by supply. chain disruptions. hoarding were sheer popularity. You may recall the great toilet paper run of march and april last year. Or mason jar mayhem in september. Maybe you're still getting over the great grape nuts drought from a couple of months ago. The changes we've made to our behavior and challenges in the manufacturing sector have created multiple ripple effects and the latest unlikely victim. Is the ketchup sachet. You know those little red and white package you get to go orders. Ketchups top dog is kraft heinz company. Heinz ketchup dominates the market. The company actually invented ketchup sachets in the late nineteen sixties leading grandma's everywhere to wrestle with the ethics of stuffing extra sachets into their handbags. America's second place catch up that would be conagra. Brands hunts which has a much smaller but loyal following as americans hunkered down during the pandemic eating more packaged and takeout food. Catch up sales. Increased data from euromonitor found that. Us restaurants bought more than three hundred thousand tonnes of the saucy read stuff last year and retail sales spiked fifteen percent. Cnn sounded the alarm on single serving condemend shortages months ago people started ordering more takeout because they couldn't or wouldn't go to restaurants those carry out bags often include the plastic utensils napkins and seasonings. You need to eat and enjoy your meal. Often that includes a big handful of ketchup packets. Even in restaurants single serving options have caught on after all in the days of covid nineteen. No
Do Green Bay Packers need to recommit to Aaron Rodgers?
"Now. Some people are speculating. Maybe about this year but aaron rodgers is just being stubborn and he wants to make some more money and you might say well. Wait a minute. Rj hasn't tom brady tatis all than taking less money. Helps you win. yeah. I think so. But there's another way for the packers to gain spending power. No tom brady. Didn't care about. Robert kraft keeping the money instead of him. Not at all when he cared about was the salary cap. There's a finite amount of money you can spend and yeah you can kick the can down the road the saints showing you that but it eventually comes. Do look at big band this year and what he was due and thus the salary cap is the constraining variable. It's the thing that constrains the limiting factor. So aaron rodgers could have and the packers could have renegotiate his contract and then made it where the money that went against the cap this year got deferred some of it. But you don't get to do that for free. What happens is it takes a further commitment down the road. So you can pay aaron rodgers for two more years or three more years and if you do three you can pay them less this year at least salary cap wise. So what's the tradeoff. Want more commitment better now.
New York Yankees miss chances, fall to Jays in opener
"Let me take you to another one yesterday yankees and bluejays on a chilly day. The opener a yankee stadium. And here's the highlights from this one. Bottom of two one. On for gary sanchez and gary. Sanchez has left the ballpark sanchez. The first yankee catcher to homer on opening day in eleven years jens have a two one league garrett cole now doing the pitching and not well oscar hernandez oh no doubt about that drills one the left in the six that ties the game two and garett cold not pleased bottom nine. Same score winning. Run it second. Aaron judge of the plate. Can he be the hero on opening day. That's the question. The answer is no judge. One for five struck out twice. We're going to extras top of the ten runners. At second randall. Grischuk pool rightfielder. Aaron judge can't get it no. We can't sixty five percent was the hit probability on this. It's an rbi double. The run comes around to score and that would be the difference. Blue jays win it three two in extras on opening day. And so back to you jessica mendoza. What's your number one takeaway from the ball game yesterday in the bronx gary sanchez. I mean you've got to remember a lot of people. Were watching last year gary sanchez. You didn't think he was eating a start or be in this lineup for the yankees. Because how bad help awesome. He was offensively last year. Being one forty seven six four strikeouts tech eight teen walks. His biggest thing coming in was to be able to sit back behind the baseball. That home run. You could use feel the pressure. Come off of him. Why because there's so many other guys in this lineup. That when they struggle. It's up to gary sanchez. And he's the difference maker to me because you know when it comes down to aaron judge who also struggled with this game carlos stanton both of those guys are prone to injuries. They're not going to be in this lineup throughout the entire season and to the big piece. That's missing because by the way it is world series or bust for the yankees team. Gary sanchez has to step up. I know it's only one game but that run was huge
Robert Kraft Gives Honest Assessment of Patriots Drafting
"Heard from Robert Kraft yesterday was a man who was completely honest about where the the team is in a lot of different areas. I wouldn't will get into this but I don't think his quarterback comments were Something to really weigh in heavily on but I do think that overall I mean him talking about, you know, the draft specifically the personality just sound thrilled with having to Shell out as much money as he did and he basically admitted that the only reason they had to do that cuz they didn't draft well in recent years and and he committed what a lot of us have said where it's not sustainable to do that. You need the draft to be the lifeblood of your team so that you can do other things like you can't just every three years song ten free agents. It just it it's probably not going to happen be it's not economically feasible. And so I thought it was very refreshing for Robert to to talk to the assemblage yesterday and and really be honest and I think you know in judging from the comments at Boston Sports Journal com from my column off of this press conference wage. Think on a whole I thought the Patriots the Patriots fans reacted very well to it that are really like, okay. Well, at least now we know that the person in charge realizes is a isn't happy about it called last season horrible and B thinks that the team has made correction and is moving in the right direction. That's all anybody ever wanted to to hear from anybody at at one page place and they heard it from Craft and I think it made Patriot Nation breathe a little bit easier. Not that they weren't confident in Bill Belichick rebounding in any event, but I just think it reinforced that. All right. Well, we're still the Patriots thought we had a we had an off-year didn't go well we're going to correct things were going to get things back on track.
Kraft Admits Patriots Are Not Perfect
"Kraft speaking some truth Greg about the 2020 season and how the team got to this point. Yeah, I thought it was really refreshing Nick. I thought that you know, look the only person I understand how the Patriots are set up and I don't disagree with the way the Patriots are set up that page during the football season bills the one who talks for the football organization and I get it. I don't disagree with it, but it's a little bit problematic when off season is going down the tubes and you're not getting any real answers from the chief executive of the football team like this past season with Belichick. He basically deflected everything off at defensive about any questions. Look he's in charge of the team. I understand pointed comments about say there. Their inability to draft. Well the past couple of years wouldn't exactly reflect. Well on the players, he's currently trying to coach but there is a way to say what everybody wants said without saying it and Bill just decides to do things the quickest way possible the easy way possible. I understand why he does it I'm not going to I'm not criticizing him for it. But it it does cause problems when the team looks like it's floundering off where we going. What is the direction things like that? And no one's answering any questions directly and what I heard from Robert Kraft yesterday was a man who was completely honest about where the the team is in a lot of different areas.
Robert Kraft: Patriots need to get QB position 'solidified'
"And Patriots owner Robert Kraft said yesterday his team needs to solidify the quarterback position. But he's confident Bill Belichick will make the right
Is the Inflation Trade Back in the Market?
"We start off tonight with the reflation trade. The ten year yield hitting a one that year high one point three percent does that mean the economy is staging a healthy recovery or that inflation is making a comeback sooner than we all thought. What could that mean for the markets guy. Why don't you open it for us tonight. First of all. I mean bit whereas bitcoin say fifty thousand becase technology problems. He better technology than bill gates. At this point. I mean he gets no pass from me. I offer him no quarter number one number two. It means sit. The market is clearly anticipating this economy opening up in a major way in the second half of the year and that's a great thing for the economy. It might not be such a great thing for the stock market and although the market seemingly likes rates rising right now where to get point and curve where it does and my senses. It's about that one and a half percent and listen. You've talked about a ten year. Yield that went from fifty three basis points in august two north of one and a quarter now and it seemingly short period of time. That's a tremendous move. And i just think it's getting started. Banks are going to like resource trades going to like it but inflation is here mel. Make no mistake. You heard it from kraft heinz. You're seeing it in soft commodities. Just look at charts like archer daniels midland and buggy and it's right in front of us and the fed thinks they can control it. Good luck with

Healthcare Workers Document Trip To Super Bowl 55
"Night. It's now over, though, for dozens of health care workers who take a day trip to Tampa to see the Super Bowl. Red eyes. No problem When you fly in style on aircraft, the Patriots team plane WBZ TV snick Giovanni welcomes from home what many were describing as a trip of a lifetime. For some, it was actually the first football game for one person, actually their first flight to get their unbelievable. I've never won anything. So this is was this very big surprise. Roughly 80 Healthcare workers met here Gillette Sunday morning that once they touchdown attempt, but they're all greeted by Patriots owner Robert Kraft before joining 7500 fellow Frontline workers inside Raymond James Stadium to see firsthand Tom Brady secure his seventh. Super Bowl ring while spreading the word for everyone to get vaccinated when it's your turn. And the
Kraft is cooking up pink mac and cheese for Valentine's Day
"Last week kraft heinz. The makers of kraft mac and cheese. Oh you for explaining. I didn't realize that kraft heinz had had formed marriage partner. It's beautiful beautiful dangerous dangerous game. They're playing combining these to catch up and mac and cheese disgusting together. I know people like that. I think it's not a fan. And if you're not a fan of disgusting. Mac and cheese not a fan of this story because craft announced a contest to give out free kits of its latest limited time mac and cheese. A box of original mac and cheese will be joined by a packet of pink candy flavored powder to mix into trunk cheese and that sounds like drugs. It is pink cocaine. The point is kraft. Mac and cheese is playing with god and creating a hank candy flavored mac and cheese. According to them the mix will turn your noodles a bright magenta color rather than a familiar orange ange. When i read that sentence i was like oh. I guess it's all pretty disgusting. There's because like noodle aren't dot color either. So what difference does it. I think really. It's just the candy flavor part of it too. It does sound like whoever brought this to the table really had their five year old bringing to the table but then maybe that's smart because most of the people maybe who are wanting something like this would be five so maybe it's actually brilliant but i think that it's mostly just children took over kraft heinz walled. Their parents were working from home like they thought they were signing onto their school zoom but they actually were signing onto the kraft heinz board zoom And then they just they just this. This is valentine's day item. That is the connection. So i assume that kraft heinz was picturing this as some sort of like central kind of love. Making food yeah. I think that they're trying to kind of introduce mac and cheese as belonging to the family of foods that you would perhaps on a nipple or a dick. Icac still the candy flavor. Part messes me up according to a spokesperson The pink hue comes from beetroot and carrot concentrates and tastes like candy Because it contains fructose. Natural flavors and vanilla extract vanilla vanilla always. She's always of the game

UN General Assembly: US-China tensions flare over coronavirus
"Pandemic is a test of international cooperation. One, the U. N secretary general says the world is failing is NPR's Michelle Kellerman reports that failure Was on display at the ongoing General Assembly. The secretary general is trying to use this virtual General Assembly to get countries to work together to fight the pandemic and many other global challenges. But one Security Council debate showed just how hard this will be. You know shame on each of you. I am astonish, and I'm disgusted. That's the U. S ambassador to the U. N. Kelly Craft accusing her colleagues, though not naming, which ones of playing politics with covert 19 members of the council who took this opportunity to focus on political grudges rather than the critical issue at hand. My goodness Craft defended the Trump administration's decision to pull out of the World Health Organization and said China should be held to account for quote, unleashing this plague onto the world. China's Ambassador John Joon, says the US is just trying to blame others for its own failings. The United the States has been spread in political virus on this information. And for 18 confrontation on division. Up to that point, it had been a rather dry Security Council meeting about global governance in the wake of covert 19. There was a lot of talk about multilateralism and a few veiled swipes at the Trump Administration's America first approach, Kraft said. The U. S has given you n agencies $900 million to counter the pandemic and compared that to others on the Security Council. NYU's year 4.6 million South Africa 8.4 million Indonesia five million. The US does give more to the U. N than other, says Richard Gallon of the International Crisis Group. But this is not just about money. Foreign diplomats had grown accustomed to trump attacking. Yuen arrangements like the Paris climate deal on mechanisms like the Human Rights Council. But they were genuinely shocked the Washington would walk away from the W. H O during a global pandemic. Speaking via Skype, he said diplomats are worried about what he calls a nasty fight between the US and China as Beijing tries to increase its influence in the world body on a day to day basis, Chinese diplomats in New York are often Very assertive, increasingly hard line and sometimes bullying colleagues from smaller countries. "In the case of Robert Kraft had to admit in open court there was no dental evidence of trafficking of the race's comparative and a war on a conceptual told connecting to each other because it was initially remember the first press conferences here where we stop the huge sex trafficking sex trafficking sex trafficking and I had people on talking about sex traffic and it's a very real thing but I started thinking about a killing gone you know the numbers that they throw out there it just it just doesn't add up like one in every ten win eight and you look at you go how much of that is the war on prostitution and meaning that they're going after essentially that they're going to guys like Robert crafted their pain tremendous lots of fines and court costs and everything else is I said it's a punishment in search of a of a crime absolutely and what awful about it is you know while we're targeting in persecuting people like Robert Kraft were missing the real monsters in the world don't forget Florida with the same state that gave Jeffrey explained that the heart deal and charged him for the crime of prostitution we should have been charged with raping and kidnapping minors or trafficking it's a great point can't win Bailey's here she's with a group called decriminalizing sex or DSW work dot org died about Bob Kraft as well as the cases recently last year in Cincinnati and elsewhere around the country and whether it's time to to actually do something about this and that is legalized one and take the resources really towards sex trafficking how much how much legitimate sex trafficking is there though I mean you hear of adoptions in here about people being present a service I mean a as well as drug addicts to who are essentially fed a steady diet drugs and that you know we've seen the horror stories in movies in Hollywood a how how accurate how big a problem is it I mean I think the horrifying reality in this country is that political people are explainable and the real you know scores of trafficking of happening across labor department in the country there are people that are trafficked into agriculture there are people that are traffic into domestic labor there are people who are trafficked in Q. food processing and slaughter houses in coal mines and although there are people who are trafficked into the sex industry because the black market the place for career criminals five thanks but I don't I think it's really really important to make a distinction between you know labor trafficking and exploitation I understand there's nothing you meet about the sex industry that creates the client expected criminality what is life like for women in countries in areas where prostitution Kaelin is legal verses where it's illegal what can you give me the disparity there I think there's an important distinction to be made we are trying to decriminalize parkway we don't want to create you know state owned possible we don't force people on a government list order to register places you don't wanna be issuing fines we just want to stop the arrest and the only country that then that is New Zealand which is an incredible place one story I think that captures what be so transformative transformative about collecting facts for kids you know everything a young woman I twenty five or twenty six years old she was working as a you know completely decriminalized in New Zealand she had a point with the client the client refused to pay her afterwards she called law enforcement she called the police and told what happened and they called her client and sad alright listen are you Hey this young woman or do you want us to pick you up for sexual assault because that's right yeah this is pretty serious offenses opposing a burglar or something like that now okay bye elation it's I could be wrong it depend I look good be rape even too so yeah that makes sense it's gonna it's going to police itself in that regard to also there's the image issue of well you know drug drug addiction and hygiene are huge criticism these are Perfil issue certainly but they help drive illegal sex trade in in America what happens is that if if he becomes legalized access to healthcare and when you stop arresting number calling the doctor the truth about what their job is they want to take care of themselves workers globally have a lower STD rate than that you have been officially in population nascent because the professionals are advocating for their own health and safety right they're not too drunk people getting together we don't need to force STD half you need to make a few test more available yeah I'm yeah I would agree with that too but if you in areas the country like for example on the matter where you have this dirt there tested I think monthly on that part of the terrible model the only state in the union with legal regulated prostitution and it has the highest arrest rate per capita prostitution wise because there's a small minority of the people that work in the sex trade center able or willing to work in the foxhole in order to work in a Nevada brothel eight you have to get hired by one be have to register with the sheriff's department as the legal registered prostitute which becomes the symbol thing about you for the rest of your life do you have to hear it all those problems will get to work twelve and twenty four hour shifts you have to click on the premise that you have to be subjected to forced eat test every two weeks that you pay for it that are done in an old residence in old slot that that they won't do a blood test I feel like a way to deliberately punish the women are not allowed to go out Dr it's ludicrous it's like working in a restaurant you know it there are no independent escort legal experts in Nevada you're not allowed to work in Vegas to Reno with biggest demand as you have to work for some time you have to work for like a Dennis Hoff character if you want to work in Nevada and I totally understand why the overwhelming majority of people that sell second about it don't want to do that and you know it it's the first one to talk to the did explain that that we have no I was a working knowledge out of how that works but you're saying it should be to criminalize the point where if you want to you know sell Saxon what what you want to do it I don't agree the policing consensual sex consensual adults who want to have sex with each other whether there's money is exchanged or not you know people are just out there having sex like right now all the time yeah I get that it's like that right right so you want to get money for to it should be it's a personal private transactions which is you make enough money into it no need to pay our taxes then you need to fill out your freelance performs like the rest of us if you will a more than either two or three people you got to fill out all the right form here to do your thing I make sure I would have felt that you know there are lots and lots of rules governing on how we interact with each other you know if you hit somebody that's a legal but like if you are engaged in a in an activity that is not a crime then suddenly all of his negotiating options open up for you you.

"A kid wouldn't hurt them or Lee dogs? Yeah. Let me just correct the record here that so Robert Kraft is a stockholder in Kraft food, but he is not one of the owners of the Kraft food company. So, but maybe just the the crafts food company didn't want their name associated with they saw that too. Many people were googling craft. Coming up. So they needed to change the narrative. That kind of makes sense. But this is a this is a great video of this kid getting hit in the face with. She is the kid with the challenges Danny as far as I can tell as you film your kid without consent. And then you Chuck sticky cheese, the come in the pre wrapped. Yeah. The plastic wrapping new unwrap it and you throw it on their face, and it sticks. And it looks like the kids even having a good time. Yeah. So so let's see what we can see one of these videos and action. Here's a kid. And then you take piece of American cheese and throw it. Doc. So well, yeah, it really and the sound it makes when it hits them in the face last as entertaining as the site yourself now Tyson, I'll give it a whirl. You have a baby that in the age range to be able to do this have you considered doing the cheese challenge? I have. But but I will now that baby didn't was confused. Yeah. Yeah. Babe is like what just happened. My daughter would laugh for sure certainly Bergin would laugh for sure if this happened to another per Marla would too. Okay. They would like this. They would laugh. Yeah. I think they both thought it'd be funny. Yeah. I think that my kids would laugh hysterically if they saw one of these videos, but does the baby in question think, it's funny. I think so some of the babies don't seem to mind right because they are their babies that actually look bothered by it. I'm I'm looking at it video right now of a confused baby. So I don't know if that equals bothered, you know, I think there are confused babies. He's upset but to. Honest. This. On to be honest. I'm watching the video right now the baby was upset before the cheese is still on on its face. And when the cheese laid it on its face. It was like the equivalent of like putting the little hood over the falcon to calm it down because it stops being upset. Yeah. You know, like how they put the hood or the bird. So it doesn't fly way. It's kind of like the same thing. Settles the kid down big liners on a horse. Yeah. Blinders on a horse. Thank you. It has like a commun- effect that she's just calms the kid down like a mud mask made of not cheese. Okay. Teas glare flavors. Parents should do. The cheese highly processed, she's flavored food. Yeah. I was wishing that my girl was a little bit younger. So I could Chuck cheese at her just to see a response. Are we sure that we're not doing some sort of irreversible damage to our babies Tyson? No, we're not sure at all every single thing. I do to my kids. I'm like is this doing irreversible harm? Currently what I'm doing? And the short answer. Probably. Yes. The best part is when the cheese on their head which seems to always stick the kids freeze like, yeah. That kid laughed. See they love it. Yeah. I might say to slices. These are videos. I think this is a good challenge. It's at least harmless for the my approve I approve of this challenge is way better than Braga. It's way better than I pod. Okay. Momo better than most challenge. Momo Momo comes up. You gotta get ready throw that cheese. Right. Over your kids is so they don't see. That's a good idea. Yeah. So beyond be on the lookout for that. Okay. Should adults participate in the cheese challenge Tyson? Rachel mind. If you just threw slice of the American cheese. So if I did it as a surprise she'd probably like kinda jump like look, and then she'd be like, what are you doing like that? And then I'd have it all on camera, and it would be beautiful. So maybe I'll try it. Okay..

I mean, I I do think that you know, I think there's more to the story that he just happened to be at a place. I totally disagree to me. He didn't know not to defend Robert Kraft sounds like fending, Robert Kraft. Let's when you go to a rub and tug place. You don't you're not like running a background check to see if it's a secret sex slave organization. People are like why would he do this when he can have anything he wants bright? If you're the richest man in the world, you go out for dinner and have amazing six, but you're also creature of convenience when you're driving home, and you see Chick-fil-A at the side, you're not gonna pull in and grab a chick. "Make the switch to Pennzoil synthetics today. Straight ahead when Robert recrafted when Robert Kraft returns to the patriots. There's one thing that Nicole doesn't want to hear the owners say we'll tell you what that is next pain and Fitz on ESPN radio Spain and Fitz, Nicole Briscoe in for Sarah Spain, and you know, as you just heard, obviously, the the news of the day Robert Kraft has been charged with two misdemeanor counts of soliciting prostitution. And this is so difficult to figure out how to move forward from an NFL standpoint, Nicole because let's face it, Robert Kraft isn't just an owner like he's not he's not the owner of the lions or the owner of the Texans or the owner of the titans like he's not somebody that if you were standing on a street corners fairly nondescript too, many non diehard fans, he's one of the faces of the NFL and that makes it all difficult. When you're trying to figure out what to do with the information because he's also sort of a brand at a brand that's represented a certain way, we say, whatever we want about the patriots is an organization Robert Kraft is sort of a brand that has been sold to everybody as a certain type of certain type of guy. Like, I remember the first time I was at Foxboro we took a tour of all of the things that Robert Kraft had contributed to in the Foxborough area, though, the craft YMCA in Foxborough is gorgeous. Like, it's it's a long, and you think about the philanthropy and the money given to the area, and what he's done in how he's been active in, you know, we think of him as sort of like, everybody's happy grandpa. He's live. He's living large beliving. Right. And and it's cute when your Grandpa's partying with Cardi B. It's.

"You know, she put her hand to her mouth and was like, you know, as the as they say in the keys gotta wear betta warrior costume. When you go out. I think she meant like Robert Kraft should have been in disguise or something like that. But you know, just based off of that anecdotal evidence that we just came across this this evening. I think the people are really really shocked, and I think that they shouldn't be Robert Kraft is a fixture not just a New England. But he's a fixture around here in Palm Beach. He's known as a great philanthropist. She's known as a great supporter. Ironically of some of the organizations that try to prevent situation. Like, the one that we are learning about more in south Florida with these massage parlors and human trafficking and prostitution and everything else. So the local reaction honestly is just a shock and surprise Jason. I honestly think that I kind of fall in the same category. And I asked Jason this earlier is like how did sort of some of the things that we saw today in the affidavit come out impact sort of what you thought of this, isn't it? I'll be honest like I knew what the charges were going to be. But then when the affidavit when we see sort of the the graphic description of some of these things, it's it only adds to the the shock of it. So from someone knows there in being a part of the press conference in listening to the Palm Beach prosecutor's office speak. What did we learn today? Yeah. So a couple of different things really stood out to me, Nicole. You know, one is without a doubt the timing. Right. I mean. It's it's so stunning that January nineteen and January twentieth or allegedly win those events took place and that was a end of AFC championship game. I'm sure you guys little already addressed this. But you know, it's worth mentioning again because it is funny. You know, and not only were those visits within twenty four hours of each other. And this is the second thing that really took me aback, but they actually pulled over his car on January nineteen it was a first visit, and they checked his ide-, even though he was a passenger in the car and that allowed the police to positively affirm that it was Robert Kraft. And then he went back the next day to me that's an indication of how little he suspected that. He was part of what would end up being a larger sting one that involves? Over ten businesses at this point being shut down hundreds of defendants potentially and millions of dollars. And and craft. Really did not know or is it a wedge that he knew we're talking to Michelle Steele on the shell Pennzoil performance line. Spain and Fitz tastes and Fitz. Nicole Briscoe in was for sarahspain. So obviously at this point he's loudly proclaiming that. He's done. Nothing illegal as this unfolds. How do you expect? I mean, how do you expect them to go out and more and deal with that moving forward? Yeah. And by the way, I should mention that. I did check. It would be an oversight on my part as the reporter for sportscenter down here in Florida covering this case not to check in with craft spokesman, and I did not get a response back. So that tells me they are sticking by that initial response that they sent out on Friday, which is they unequivocally denied that he engaged in any illegal activity when I can report to you guys. Instead, he's taking this very seriously. He's hired some big guns down here outside counsel. Jack Goldberger's his name. I I'd actually not heard the name before. But I'm told that he's really well regarded in in this area. He's practice criminal defense law for something like thirty years, and he's best known for actually being on the defense team for got guys. Obviously not in the sports world. His name is Jeffrey Epstein, but he's a multimillionaire. Well known as a sex offender, and this is this is the defense lawyer who Robert Kraft has selected and now that we know today for sure that he doesn't need to appear to be processed..

"Expect is going to happen to Robert Kraft the differences that that did happen in an era where the colts weren't suddenly with Peyton Manning anymore. They weren't winning Super Bowls and even this year when craft was in the lock or not when craft sorry winners say was in the locker room after the colts won and went to speak in sounded a little EIB Created reacted. like all of that system. Colts fans have become a little embarrassed by say, but when you're winning it's no big deal. It's a strange section to be because you see when fans become disenfranchised for whatever reason when they finally become disenfranchised. How often you hear fans say, well, you know, make the league needs to make him sell the team. It's never that easy. I lived through years as a raiders fan where the NFL Davis Davis's life. He just seemed like out of touch, and like maybe things weren't like all their sometimes and the team sort of was just run into the ground. And there are a lot of raiders fans that were sitting there saying my God, like what do you do when you know your ownership just can't provide a winning team? You're right that what I just said is they can't provide a winning team. Maybe it's just as simple as you win and everything else is forgiven. It's really easy to throw IRA at the players. And that's what we do like everybody. Everybody wants to players. They're carrying it out on the day-to-day base. Like, you mentioned Dolan in in New York. Like Dolan's a he's a laughingstock right in the joke is like the Knicks can't even tank well, right? One hundred. Thirty on the Spurs last night. They scored an own goal, and they can't even take because they won the darn game. Right. It's like the Dolan is a laughingstock, and what he's done that organization, and my annoyance with him is that you've taken a team that was once on the NBA pedestal, and you have driven it into the toilet. And again to me, I'm not a Knicks fan, but I'm offended by his inability to win. And it kind of goes back to that same thing. Again, you could be I don't know anything about the man that he could be doing awful things. But I'm mad at you. Because you can't figure out how to make the Knicks win. No. That's my bar. I I'm sorry. If that makes me a horrible person. It makes you a realist, I think we're I mean, you're right. I, but that's how I think fans think I just want to win a thousand percent look at when different colleges have had controversies as much as Penn State and Ohio State Michigan state, and it feels like, you know, I'm just listening big ten schools here. But as much as they've all had their their. Moments of embarrassment for a lot of the people that that support those teams it's been about. Hey, get off our backs food just want to go out and win football games. And you know, that that's that's part of culture. And I also don't think like if you ask people who got degrees from Penn State university. Are you now supposed to be embarrassed? No by your degree. I don't because they were involved in his can't I don't think so either. Well, or not like realistically, nobody's going to be embarrassed to be a patriots fan today. You might be embarrassed by the actions of Robert Kraft, but that's totally different than being embarrassed by the patriots. You're right like in. Sometimes it sounds cold and callous, and this is something Sarad. I've talked about in the past to like we are just in a world where winning is everything as long as you're winning. It doesn't really matter. How incompetent ownership is look at the Steelers if they if the Steelers were coming off years of terrible terrible football than the comments. Supporting Ben Rothlisberger above all else would be considered miss some sort of dysfunction that that couldn't be handled..

"You just heard the latest and again to keep everybody updated Robert Kraft, owner of the patriots is now officially been charged with two misdemeanor counts of first degree solicitation. According to Palm Beach state attorney Dave Berg, so to help us break down all of this. And what it means? We're going to go to the shell Pennzoil performance line. We're ESPN legal analyst Ryan Smith joins us Ryan with that being the latest. What does it mean for Robert Kraft? Well, it means nothing good at the moment. Here's the first thing initially. We thought it was a second degree charge which carried a really a sixty day maximum jail term this one I agree. Misdemeanor carries a one year maximum jail term. So in cases, like these typically, you're going to see a plea deal. You're going to see community service entrance into a diversion program, which basically is similar to classes things like that. A fine. But the fact that there's the potential jail time given that this is a high profile case for these state attorneys down in Florida means that, hey, look, they could be looking at something where they start to ask for jail time or try to figure out a way to show the public that this is a significant issue. Not only from the perspective of the people who did the trafficking in their minds. But the people who took advantage of the services. Michelle Steele is down there for reports on sportscenter in all those things, and she's reporting that of the men who are charged here at Robert Kraft is the only one facing two charges of solicitation to what is the significance of that. Second charge. Many went twice essentially that he went one day, and then came back they have him on video both times and each one is a separate act that in their mind is a criminal act. So that means he could let's say for a and again, I still think it's unlikely that he sees jail time. But let's say he did a judge could in theory say, okay, you're guilty of these two counts where certain thing you to this amount of jail time. And if we want to be consecutive than that means you'll serve one term and then the other. So that would be the difference that he went twice, and that's the evidence they have on him. According to these we're talking to ESPN legal analyst Ryan Smith on the shell Pennzoil performance line. Spain and Fitz Jason Fitz, Nicole Briscoe in for Sarah. Ryan how difficult is it in a case like this to compartmentalize the actual charges against Robert Kraft for solicite Shen versus the conversation of sex trafficking. That's been such a huge part of the story. I think it's really difficult, and you gotta look at it almost from the perspective of law enforcement. They this all started with health inspectors looking into some of these spas and noticing things just didn't make sense. And once authorities got involved they started digging and digging and saying wait, this is becoming widespread we're noticing what we believe is human trafficking. So they did this widespread sting across many jurisdictions. And now they've uncovered this. So for them, this is where it becomes difficult to separate it. If it was just a situation where you had Robert Kraft who propositions someone and was accused of solicitation of prostitution, even if there was evidence, and it was just what I mean. I hate to use this word, but essentially just one person doing something, I don't think it would. Have the significance? I think you would see it go a lot more quietly. I think you would have a situation where maybe prosecutors would say all right? Typically, this is not something that gets jail time. Let's just come to a quick resolution. But this is a national story. This is a major thing for Florida authorities. What does it look like if they just reach plea deals and no jail time? And no, no real significant penalties really slaps on the wrist of every person in those or of someone like Robert Kraft to the public. It looks like yeah. You uncovered this big human trafficking ring. But nobody really paid for it. Nobody really is being held to account for it. And there are talks. There are thoughts that many of the women who are involved many of the victims manned up getting deported. So in a sense..

Oh, five years ago last month since then it's been the most successful team in pro football Kraft owns Gillette stadium where the patriots play. And he also owns the Major League Soccer. The New England Revolution. According to Forbes. He's worth more than six point six billion dollars. He's made his fortune in paper manufacturing real estate, sports and entertainment and nine hundred ninety eight he founded the Kraft group to oversee his family's farflung businesses in twenty eleven his wife Myra Kraft died following a battle with cancer in the following year. Kraft says it's probably the rappers plus Donald Trump strengthened craft told the new York Daily News called them every year following Myers garden just to check. He was at the resort for the Dana fervor Cancer Institute discovery celebration. And institute he's worked closely with since his wife step. And so again, as we stand live outside the Jupiter police department just moments ago. Among the twenty five names on the list just released by Jupiter PD, Robert Kraft, Seventy-seven-year-old, owner of the New England Patriots has been or will be charged with two counts of solicitation involving a prostitution ring. Which as we said at the outset hats alleged tentacles stretching from New York to China and involves of human trafficking where women were subjected or with no choice involved in these activities traffic story. So tell me of the guys remember Steve? It was telling people at his massage parlor and now he lost his because he here in Massachusetts has craft lose the pats. That's a possibility. I mean, if if this was the NBA sure, although the NBA force Donald sterling to sell his team because of his racial comments. I'm going to need a moment to process this because I'm just going to try to see that they have forced the sale of the Carolina Panthers from Jerry Richardson, he sold off his team because of part of the metoo movement. So he had to move on from from the Carolina Panthers. I I would think that was going to be some owners that don't like Robert Kraft that are going to say it's time to sell the team Mary Richardson. "Now being revealed to be part of a much larger sex trafficking. Ring the spas out of the Florida area that he visited now appear to be something that has been investigated for months with hundreds of names potentially being revealed as involved in purchase. Updating in this. Now, what we do know so far fits is that craft has only been implicated as far as solicitation, we do not yet know if he had any indication or understanding of the larger human trafficking ring that he was at the very least and economic enabler for and I think that's going to be one of the biggest things in terms of understanding what he did. And how the NFL might react to it. That is presuming that this is all true investigators do say they have videos of the perpetrators including craft himself. But he has denied it it will. And this is going to be one of those moments where we want swift fast action. And it's probably the last thing will get from the league because they're going to need to get a lot of information in this situation. Obviously, he's only been at this point. This is what he's been accused of the they do have evidence as you mentioned in video form his people have denied that he has any wrongdoing and the NFL's going to have to figure out a couple of different layers of it. I what did he do? And how did he do it and second? And what did he know about? What was he doing? Because what he was doing because that's going to be a larger question to answer. There's already so much that comes into soliciting for somebody at the level of of Robert Kraft, and for what it means for the NFL, and they could they could hold them accountable to that through conduct detrimental to the integrity and public confidence in the NFL. That's what we saw jimmer say suspended and fined four few years ago, the colts owner when he was when he was pulled over with a suitcase full of drugs. So you start to think about how the league's going to react, they're going to have to figure out was this just soliciting prostitution, which in of itself as one thing or was it also on top of that thing was it also in any way, supporting the sex trafficking that we know according to the police was going on with these places. What we don't know is the level of knowledge that Robert Kraft had in that was so there are layers to this end for once. I'm actually looking at the NFL saying slow and steady wins the race. Get all of the information and get it right before they sort of come in. Jumping make a rash judgement. And then find out that they've under punished for something that becomes a much bigger crime possibly, I completely agree. And it's worth noting by the way, I'll get to the larger sex trafficking ring issue, and how important that is. But it's worth noting that even if this is just prostitution solicitation, that's a crime. And I understand that people have varying beliefs on whether sex work should be legalized and regulated. And maybe even believe that it would be safer and healthier if it was regulated. But as of right now, and where Robert Kraft was doing this. This is illegal, and it is also absolutely a violation of the personal conduct policy for the NFL. It is not a good look for him for his team or for the league if it is indeed true. And unfortunately, I've heard takes both on our air and elsewhere and all over social media that basically.

"And if you are him, what are you thinking right now, I think I would be fascinated and maybe hopeful that possibly that. There's the mistake because improper Kravis denying it. There's still this possibility out there. I think we put a lot of faith in law enforcement and assume that they would not come out with this information door, unless they feel very strongly about it. But maybe that confused maybe it was someone else another old white, man. I think that's that's Roger Goodell's hope that would be very very unlikely given some of the evidence that we've seen everything is alleged this point, I say that because video is alleged because Adam Schefter sportscenter today, apparently source told him that Kraft is not even the biggest name caught up in the sting, right? Some nightmares. Maybe in the offing four Roger Goodell. But there's some serious context. Two that's worth establishing because jokes tend to be the first reaction when you hear about this combination of factors, but police say the women involved in the human trafficking ring, which is apparently thing here allegedly. They were giving no days off the average about fifteen hundred men year hygiene was minimal this is horror show stuff. Man. It's terrible. And I think that the question here is also like how accountable do you consider a patron and his situation because I think that clearly the law enforcement binds them accountable, you can't just go there and participate in that your hands are clean. So I I don't know how this lands on their deaths. I know that the league has a history of punishing owners ARCE, Jim say, the colts comes to mind. That's the big question. Right is what do you do you were on the union? You led the union how do you respond to a potential punishment from an foreign owner from a player's perspective on I think the players any time. This happens the players are looking for the owners to get reprimanded aggressively. But the problem is there is no ability to reprimand them enough that the players will be comfortable with because. There's no amount of money that is going to hurt Robert Kraft or any of these owners, and if you suspend them from game so what he's not playing. He's still going to at the end of the day all the money that his team makes the league makes they're still going to go into his pocket and the players look at this and realize that it is unfair. Systematically, it's going to be unjust. And you mentioned jimmer say and jimmer say as is Robert Kraft is subject to the personal conduct policy. And you mentioned there's no amount of money that you can be fine. That would make a dent in Jim Irsay in this case in his case was fined five hundred thousand dollars and was suspended six games. An interesting way to punish someone who is in playing any of the games with their in is the complexity when one of your bosses is the guy who is allegedly involved with stuff some stuff next name Scott foster last night, the rockets lost to that activated version of LeBron James. But after the game James harden was focused on referee, Scott foster. Let's listen. Colston through scuffles memories of. I never really talk about a fish anything like that. But just just rude in air again. There's a personal year for sure for sure sure, I don't think you should be able to even officiator games anymore. Honestly. Okay. No, not only talk about officials or anything. I think just for him in particular like this. He's a he's different. Scott foster has issues the warriors have issues with got false there. And in Chris Paul's comments. He said later that in the offseason the league in the players had a meeting with just Scott foster. So there's a lot to chew on here. What do you think? Yeah. I mean, look on the one hand. This is James harden allegedly biting the hand that feeds him, right? How dare James harden of all people complain about officiating? Let's can we see what actually happened in this game. Because got foster was a protagonist of the way that deserves some the ethical criticism. I I dunno criticism. The word I wouldn't be critical. I appreciate it is we're leading up to this. Nope. Does it regular tattoo normal technical on James harden, right? And then he brings out the not the big guns the small guns..

"School fact one hole in your ego where you're looking to fill by doing that. There was no whole. I just need the world know that I'm well round that you just wanted to really take GRE Jeanette, which one is it. Yeah. Yeah. So that was all like, oh, yeah. No. This is exciting to me. I play the NFL for seven years. But now I wanna fill in a stand Tron heat. That's what you wanted to just wanted to show people that I'm better than them in multiple ways. Not just in my better than you. As an athlete. I'm also smarter than you. I'm talking to you. Bob, la. Wow. Because I just feel sad badly on it. That's how I wound up at this desk talking to you. But it's funny. How life works out the hell of an achievement. Talking to me. I failed my weight Harvard Business School read it the first name Robert Kraft because this morning police in Jupiter Florida, Dominique they gave us some big news concerning the patriots owner. Let's watch. Yes, sir. He he is one of the individuals. That would be Mr Robert Kraft Robert Kraft, the owner of the New England Patriots. Yes, what is being charged? He's being charged with the same offenses as the the others. And that is soliciting another to commit prostitution. And a maiden face right now we have to. That would be two separate incidents visits to the orchestration. They followed one visit with multiple charges from that one. Visit he had two different visits. Question was does the video contained Mr. craft inside receiving the alleged sex the answer to that is. Yes. It's a lot of detail. But he's spokesperson for Robert Kraft said, quote, we'd categorically denied that Mr. craft engaged in any illegal activity and quotes, but somewhere Dominique Roger Goodell is at his desk. And this news has just crossed said desk..

"On crafts solicitation charge, quote, the NFL is aware of the ongoing law enforcement matter, and we'll continue to monitor developments, and if nation patriots reporter, Mike Reece has covered the organization and Robert Kraft for years, and my joins us now by phone to might what has been the reaction from around the team. We'll see, you know, many are obviously very surprised by this. And I think the thing to highlight from a team perspective is just how involved Robert Kraft is with everyone in the organization. This is an owner that walks through the locker room on a daily basis and converses with players Tom Brady calls them almost like a second dad him over the years. So whenever something like this comes up, you know, it's great surprise his reputation. Robert Kraft means a lot to him. He's talked about that many times over the years. So to sum it up in one word surprise is what I would say many around the patriots feel at this time. Mike, Lee, appreciate you. Checking in with us. A spokesman once again for Robert Kraft, categorically denies the charges Jupiter. Police department says they have video tape evidence. So in the wake of criticism by an Tonio browns-steelers GM, Kevin Colbert on Wednesday. Call Ben Rothlisberger. The question leader of the locker room with freedom to publicly criticize image. If he sees fit added. He's the elder statesman and the only Super Bowl winner. I think there might have been a little heat from that. Because he has since softened his stance. There are other leaders cetera cetera. Yeah. I mean when we first heard these comments we kinda scratched our head. I think all three of us here that were here yesterday kind of, you know, went in deep about what type of leader Ben is and what the GM was referring to. And we were just kind of just thinking about Ben, you know, other players won't be comfortable going up to Ben because of the things that have transpired beforehand because of the type of person and the type of leader in the type of team mate that. Ben has shown to be within that locker room or hasn't shown to be. It's difficult for the younger guys that go up to him and feel comfortable getting information about whether it's about the offense or about the culture of the team and things of that nature. So when the GM came out and said, this we all kind of scratched our heads. Because we knew what type of team been robbers burgers apart of what type of leader. He eventually it sounds like Kevin Colbert is is is trying to clarify what he meant by this. But it is disconcerting the initial comments. Just because of the disconnect like I don't from talking to people in Pittsburgh, like, I don't sense that anybody necessarily views Ben Rothlisberger that way in the locker room. And that's not a knock on Dan. It's just a point about who he is and the type of player slash leader that he has always been like no one has ever projected that Ben Rothlisberger. Is this sort of listen this? This was a demeaning. However, you wanna cut it. And I'm glad he did softened his stance because the grow men playing this game. Yeah. No kids playing this game. Let me tell. Man, you sacrifice your body potential your health to go play this game that what these men do not just on the field. But off the field, they are community leaders. So when when you start talking about a bunch of kids and one guy, I don't care how many Super Bowls he won. I mean, that's irrespective of winning Super Bowls. When you talk about leadership. It's a completely different mantle than just what this guy has done the field. I can tell you right now. Payton mini was a great leader Bill pulling when that so we got fifty two kids in one guy. I'm telling you right now, you would hurt all kinds of problems if that was ever said, he wouldn't even begin to it shows you in my opinion. I'm glad he did softened his stance, and we talked about there are other leaders. But this shows you GM's aren't in the locker room leader is developed organically inside the locker room. And it's not only about what happens on the feeling what transpires there it's in the locker room. Do you show me you care? Can you connect with me on different.
