"Back ten years ago to a very different discussion about punk. He was in the midst of is rivalry with john. Sina and it would. Co headline summer slammed that europe. The top attraction heading into the event and today on the interview classic edition of the word keller pro wrestling podcast for saturday august fourteenth. Twenty twenty one. We jump back ten years to my interview with x. wwe creative team member. John piermarini and this aired live on august twelfth twenty eleven. We live calls and emails and covered a lot of topics but the primary topic was the summer slim build and thoughts and predictions on. What would happen. Also randy orton back on raw this week facing christian who was certainly in the news last night on a rampage. They also co headlined. This pay per view. An olds barred match for the world heavyweight championship plus wade barrett now a color commentator with an x t took on daniel bryan one on one danube-rhine heading to eighty w also beth phoenix another commentator. Took on kelly kelly in a wwe divas match mark. Henry shameless dolf sigler against alex riley and a six man tag match and then in the previously. Vip exclusive after show. There's thirty more minutes for you. And including whether john marini felt that there was legit heat between. Wwe regular such as punk rain-shortened john and the rock based on the latest comments. That gordon encina had aimed at rockin rock firing back also analysis of jim roses return and how it relates to. Now michael cole. Being the senior announcer on w. w. btv in terms of tenure and stature in the company and also remember alex riley. Yeah we talked about his baby. Push in wwe. So that's coming up here this aired ten years ago this week. August twelve twenty eleven. Welcome to the dpw. Towards live cats. I am keller editor and publisher of the pro wrestling torch newsletter since nineteen eighty seven and twa torch dot com since nineteen ninety nine. And of course the pow torch apps. They're free on iphone and android phones for the last over years and it is friday august twelfth. Two thousand eleven. We're on the eve of summer slam and it is great to introduce my guest co host for today. John marini former wwe creative team member for almost all the two thousand nine and two thousand ten and it's been a couple of weeks or more than a couple of weeks he's been on so it's great to have you back john. Hey good to be back. Thanks for his excellent You're gonna actually go to summerside marcha And no i'm not gonna okay I i just was going to be in the area Yeah i was i was. I went to the Their their whatever they call it party last night. Oh how was it. Tell us all about it was good. It was good to catch up with some people that i haven't seen in a while and You know nothing special aren't who sleeping with who who doesn't get along who used to and who. What behind who's back already. Learned from randy. Orton That's eight too much. All right very good. Well i want to encourage everybody to call up since. We're not gonna get any of that out of john. But that's understandable and i definitely understand Our number here if you want to join the show is six four six seven two one nine eight eight. That's six four six seven two one nine. Eight two eight John has been a frequent guest on the show. The last several months he did a long torch. Talk with me At the beginning of the year Shortly after leaving. Wwe and going in depth on how booking his booking experience was and john one thing that i haven't had answering up to you. But i want to before we get the phone calls is what about the new writing structure and i don't know how familiar with it. But we've talked about it here on the show that you've got vince on top aaa chin steph. Kinda hovering right there with kevin done you know kind of a you know a veto idea person. And then under him is now a show runner and then in the mix are michael as and brian elevated to some new position and then he got Kapoor and kosco elevated head writer. And then you have a writing staff and i think it's up to about two dozen people including Kevin for the baltimore sun just added this week to the writing team does that structure and all the latest in the last couple of weeks on that make you think they've addressed some problems that you experience over there for two years or just added layers of bureaucracy that are gonna make it more difficult for good ideas to get through or option c. Of your choice. I i mean i think it's that's way way too many people that you said that you there's two dozen people there though. Yeah you know real wow I to be honest. i don't think it really matters. How many people you bring in or or how little people you bringing is. It's the people that they have in certain positions that are the problem i You know the i in the way you broke it down. And i don't know how things have changed but you know stephanie was always someone that I know before me. She was a little bit more involved but she she was never to hands on with the creative I know that she would chime in or or be part of the the meetings within but she was. Never you know giving orders or anything from a creative standpoint and then Triple h and again things may have changed but Triple h was more of a guy who would Give his input in the production meetings on monday I'm sure by now. He's probably in the. The creative meetings was found friday. Which i'm sure they're probably in there right now. Still waiting for them to come in and But i don't know. I don't think i don't think really too much is going to change. I think that it's great. That someone like dave kapoor who You know i worked closely with. And i think that he does have a different mindset from from brian although i think that his mindset is also you know structured around. What's brian wants. So i think that if they can address that situation it doesn't matter if they have forty writers or or three if bryant there. It's going to be the same thing. Yeah and and and we're we come up. Close to two dozen is is been steph. The show runner Goertz hayes kapoor and and Kofsky that there. That's eight people all kind of out of the process. And then how many people when you were there. Were quote under brian on the raw team or under michael on the smackdown. How many writers assistant writers kind of you know the entry level and two assistant towards type levels where they're free When i first came in on raw it was Words poor One other writer and myself and then that rider left and we got An assistant on raw and then a new guy came in and then he was there for about three months and then so essentially it was me. It's always brian. Dave me in an assistant and then on smackdown it was My cool and then. They had Chris joseph Under him and then it was Another writer and assistant and then towards like my last three months there..

"I do these videos. Each pointing the street dot com with research director jeff marks and we talked about nucor my instincts my instinct said world. Hold it it's back to one seven. We got back even with the trust. Yes but then we talked about it. And i realized that was a huge mistake. That was total. Lisi thinking the only reason i wanted to lighten up on new court one seven because it was where the trust initially bought it. I swear that's exactly what i would have done. Had an. I talked it through with jeff. I'd just been in my mind. Power of lazy thinking buzek invest scheme of things with a stock trading nearly six times earnings and an infrastructure bill. Looking like it's going to be a sure thing. There's absolutely no good reason to help new cornell. I didn't have a fundamental reason. I remember technical reason. I just saw got back to even my gut reaction was to breath. Side we've ring that register but simply matter though what does it do with whether or not nuclear worth voting. What would be the point of that sale before you pull the trigger. You gotta ask yourself. Why the heck am i really doing this with nucor. I don't really care if the stock pulls back there's a trillion dollar infrastructure package. One the way that should ignites steel sales for not days not much but years to come. And that's what matters not where the stock is relative to your i trade. I bring this up because anybody can fall. Prey to lazy. thinking has the best of us. it's human nature to make poorly thought out emotionally driven decisions. This kind of thing is everywhere here. This morning i was several people. I leave honestly respective about. What were they talking. How the fed is dead wrong to keep rates so low after friday's fabulous import. That you heard that if you watch your network where you anything you popular hip. Toss roy half dozen times when one person is pointing said. The fed was apps. Obviously room another criticized. Jay pal for being oblivious to one of the largest job gains ever. Couldn't disagree more with them. But the chatter chatter begins to worry me. I mean i've been out friday. I figured the market would get crushed because the economy was too hot. Meaning the fed would have to tighten sooner than later but these jeremiah is against easy. Money were so effective. I looked at the biggest winners to find games registering. And i settled on. Sell some kosco. Yeah big gain sell at one if rates are headed higher because the economy hot. This relatively expensive retail. Tom could have to go lore again. That too is the power of lazy thinking. I who the heck were these commentators to make me to anything. They've been dead wrong for ages dead wrong about the fed. I think jay pals doing fine job. Under extraordinary circuses. We're wacky with. "Romantic advances toward her danielle's child is also extremely poorly behaved and my mom is worried that she's going to act out throughout the entire intimate ceremony. No one in my family wants danielle and her child to they're willing to sacrifice a wedding invite for the parents in order to prevent them from coming because they know the parents will bring her and her two year old along. My question is this is their way for me to invite the parents and make it clear to them that their daughter and granddaughter not invited or should i just do what my family asks and forgo the invitation altogether signed managing the blacklist old. Who do we invite to the wedding. Rigmarole i'm so glad that i never have to think about that again. Right sounds so stressful. My second third and fourth marriages. I'm not inviting anyone. That's just got to be the most stressful part of planning a wedding. Smart move so. This is a tough one. Because you're super close to daniel's parents and you want them there and they're definitely going to be hurt if you don't invite them on the other hand you're saying you can't invite them and say sorry but you can't bring hurricane danielle and her tropical storm offspring. That sounds like a category five shit store bread there but why can't you say that they can okay. They're just afraid to all you have to do is address. The invitation to the parents not allowed any plus ones that means d and many are not invited and if they ask you why you politely tell them that you had to make some tough choices on the guest list but you definitely wanted them to be there or maybe you get the parents to deliver the message. Since they're the ones who are such good friends with them in the first place maybe if they explain the situation delicately than their friends will get it but it sounds like the kinda of that. They're afraid to try that sort of think it won't work but if you're really afraid to tell them here's an idea what if you said listen or keeping the wedding pretty small and unfortunately we have to keep the guest list really small. We really want to invite you guys. You're basically family but unfortunately we don't have enough room for d. and mini d. or super bombed. I hope you understand you know. Just blame it on your budget. Venue size maybe you even blame it on cova ven the venues covert rules you know. They got this limit now and it just happens to be two people less than we wanted so there we go come on. This can't be that hard. Yeah that's definitely the safest bet but the only thing that will work if the wedding is actually pretty intimate but if they roll up to the island and they're like three hundred guests thirty three hundred they can have three hundred to three hundred one class. It's going to get. It's gonna get tricky at that point. I think that's true but then it's too late for them to get mad. Also as my grandmother used to say tough kisco. It's not their frigging party. She didn't say that frigging party. Parts you just said tough kisco kosco. Yeah i like the but ultimately my opinion is this. It's your wedding. You get to decide. Who's there you don't need to be addicted. But you're allowed to say i'm sorry. This is the guest list. It might ruffle a few feathers too bad and anyway it doesn't sound like you care if you piss off danielle. I mean she moved in on. Your sister's ex banged him. She's hitting on your sister who's not interested. She's raising a demons bond. I just don't know how much you owe this person. So do what you feel is right. Try to make her parents. See where you're coming from if they press you. It sounds like it won't be very hard for you to make the case. Just try not to let other people get to you too much and congrats on the wedding by the way that's a joyous occasion honestly gabe these people they have to know. Their daughter is a train wreck. They might be in denial but they have a clue they. I sure have a clue and they know that their granddaughter has misbehaved and they just feel bad so they excuse the behavior they might not even like it and they might just feel at some level that they can't do anything about it. But at some level i feel like they gotta understand where our writer is coming from. Hey we don't want the kid knocking over the cake. Throwing food during the ceremony and the reception and tripping the waiters. and you're you know my sister-in-law's who's in the party getting hit on by your daughter like they frigging people whose lives are like this. Were otherwise normal. They know that something is wrong. They have to anyway. Hope you all enjoyed that. I wanna thank everyone who wrote in this week and everyone who listened. Thank you for that. Go back and check out. Daryl davis if you haven't yet you will not regret that episode. I promise if you wanna know how. I managed to book all of these guests. I've got a great network. I use software systems and tiny habits to create and maintain that network. I'm teaching you how to do so for free the six-minute networking courses where you'll find it. It's over on the.

"How. she said. Her parents made a deal before she was born. That if the child was a girl the dad would get to name and if it was a boy the mom would get to name it. Mom had a c. section. They had drugged her up. You know so. Dad went and filled out all the paperwork. Gave her the name christina. Well what mom didn't know was that dad was having an affair with a woman named christina and he thought if he ever screwed up and accidentally called his wife by his mistress's name he could say. Oh sorry i was just thinking about our daughter christina and it didn't come out until after the girl was born. She shared that story on. Tiktok is shared it on the radio and everybody started sending it to her and the story was given to the show by a friend of christina's is that right now. I i just found it on the internet okay. John dies at the end yesterday. Or barnes an awesome awesome. I mentioned to you before that Joe lansdale He wrote Bubba hotel right. Yes right at did not know that unsold not too long ago cost garelli. Actually was i think trying to work on the drive in trilogy which is a book from lansdale which is really a fucked up book loved it. Yeah i think there's a comic book. I've read some of the the issues of the come. And one of my conversations with allan holzman He said that he tried to develop also A story from lansdale. That did not interested not get funded He did say that. I guess Bill paxton was working on. Developing the bottoms. Which is a well-known lansdale. Book is todd's favourite. I know he's made everybody read it. I don't think i've given it back yet. i think i have it on my bookshelf here. He was working on developing that and to a movie a feature when he passed so And he passed while undergoing like valve replacement surgery. Anyway interesting. now that. I've talked for an hour. What do you got for me jason. I don't know. I've got a headache. Now what was all that about. Just then. Is it about billy barty yet. Was it about bee's master. Yup it was about that too. How has it been as far as the transition from that school system to this especially in smaller town like people bay here and in my town? There's no school at all. It was about an hour commute each twice a day because we didn't have bus service either so to two hours a day. I was just getting the kids to and from school so after doing that for several years I felt like they were limited in the programs that they had and so ultimately that would probably be the best answer why pulled them out two years ago inserted home schooling them. I said all right. We're going to bring him to the coffee shop. Mom and dad live upstairs one for school. Then we'll swap them and I'll take one and you take the other one and we'll we'll figure out their courses and talk about multitasking running the store and doing home schooling being a teacher. Yes so I would run out. Make drinks come back and I would help my son with math or I would. My mom would be upstairs doing social studies. It was a lot of work so and then rolls into what we just started this year. Which is a Online Charter Academy that Oregon only offers so my kids have core classes that they take a Monday through Friday and they log in and they have one teacher per class that they are assigned. Thirty kids sold. The teacher is able to see all of students at the same time. Access on the On a window pane in. You know in their screen that they can type a question or they can tap that they have a question they can call on them. They record every single class. There's a complete dress code. There's a student behavior policy everything that you would see in public school. They also offer Additional courses that they wouldn't get access to right now they can start college at Sixteen on the school and get do credit so they can take English at Community College and get credit for this high school course. We meet every three weeks in person so they get to meet their friends that they meet online. So it's not only a virtual. It's an it's an actual sudden. They will have meet ups at like the High Desert Museum. The they miss being near target or costco or like or anything like that. We don't have that here but they do love the beauty of being here and the my daughter's really into horses. We have a horse that we take care of every night and and it's hard to have a horse when you're next to the KOSCO. Yeah exactly yeah there you go. So how does that work out.

"WABC. You're listening to the weekend. Addition of Gula March. Well, we saw the Democrats take to the stage this week. At least they're national candidates for president also some interesting on the state of Indiana politically speaking enjoyed us for a little bit of perspective outside of four sixty five bubble which is always good to get on occasion as good friend of my sparring partner, Brian Smith, who is chairman of the kosco, Kenny Democratic Party, Brian, my friend, always gonna talk to north oh, doing great. Thanks for having me on. I'm always glad share my thoughts already, obviously as a chairman of Democratic Party, you've got some interest, and who your party pics president. What do you think of the debates this week? I think we had a very spirited debate over two nights on policy that will improve alerts of all Americans are inferior all Americans have access affordable health care, education, and a good job was there, anyone in particular that sit on sage for you? I mean obviously infra. No, there's an assumption that folks maybe tend to lean toward Pete Buddha, judge. But did anybody stand out in particular out of that field of twenty? Well last night my Twitter feed. My Facebook feed was really blowing up with Senator Harris of California, the moment, he had with former vice president Biden, I think it's going to go down as one of the top ten moments in all debate history. You know, over over decade, I think we're going to look back on this moment, realize it was a real turning point in. This race. She did great last night. And I think that we will see a her kind of climb in the polls, I guess the question too because at this point in time back in twenty fifteen I wanna say Jeb Bush was a head and like twenty two percent. Can we really extrapolate from ten minutes? One debate will got a year and a half to go until the presidential race at the release seven months until the first primary. I mean, we really can't all it takes American politics in particular really changed on a dime. But I think tonight real, I think last night really was kind of a turning point was the first chance that these candidates were really able to introduce themselves to the public and you know, I think old prior to this. We're just kinda going on name recognition. You know, we had a few of the candidate hound halls, but I think now these polls will really start to meet a little bit more because the candidates themselves will have much higher aim recognition, the public will know more about them and where they stand. So I think they'll, they'll begin to be a little bit more predictive. And I think in around this time and twenty fifteen is really when you start to see Donald Trump starts surge in the polls. So as we go forward, I think the polls will be a little bit more predictive. What do you hear from your fellow Indian Democrats? About this week's performances. Well, there really is off spot for mayor Pete. You know, we know mayor Pete, he he had kind of a rough we with the tragedy of Eric Logan in south end. But he has received praise from for many people about his, his leadership during the crisis and owning his mistakes. And emitting that this like, where he did on stage last night admitting that he wasn't hasn't been able to integrate the south bend police force with more minority officers and, and, you know, one of my friends were saying that was refreshing to hear from somebody to own their mistakes, you know too not just brag about their compliments, but own their mistakes, and it was it was really quite a moment last night, where mayor an humbled himself. We are taking moments to talk to Brian Smith, Brian as chairman of the kosco county Democratic Party. And so the debates we had this week, and we thought it'd be interesting perspective to talk to Brian. Get his thoughts on how things went as a democrat. But also somebody outside of this four sixty five bubble one of things Brian elected, you, and I've had this conversation, the numerous times of the social media universe a couple of moments this week on that debate stage. They kind of gave me a little bit of a pause was when the. Question popped up a to say it was on Wednesday about replacing private insurance with the government run sort of healthcare plan, Elizabeth Warren kind of raised her hand than the other night was the question of should undocumented aliens have access to government health counter Medicare for all plan. Everybody sort of raise her hand. The commentators we tend to think. Okay, that may have been what, what kind of Joklik Khawla Willie Horton moment? It doesn't necessarily resonate in the primary, but then it comes back, you know, in the general election and Willie Horton. For those who don't know because you're a little bit younger was Al Gore had brought up in nineteen. Eighty-eight renegades, Mike Dukakis that might you know, criminals out on the weekend, furlough and one of them killed somebody and then that became the infamous really hord nad well Medicare for all, even in Indiana. Now, there is, you know, as we on the debates, there is discussion about what that means. I mean, I think it does mean different. Things are people. But in Indiana Medicare for all. Actually pulls quite popular old forty three percent, which is not, you know, I shouldn't say that, quite popular, but it tolls people support Medicare for all more than they don't support if you get what I mean Corrales. Yeah, yeah. So people have a favorable view of Medicare for all now, obviously, that means different things to different people. But, you know, I don't think that it's going to hurt our party in any way, especially when the Republican party is trying everything. They can to dismantle the, the system that we have, and it would take away pre existing condition Cup, which, you know, current system where senior citizens are have to choose between prescription drugs here and putting food on the table Medicare for all system with Lewer drug Christ your crisis breezes. Keep a witne have to worry about if they lose their job. They lose their insurance. People wouldn't have to worry about pre existing condition coverage anymore. You know, pulling on Medicare for all is surprisingly popular, even in red states like, Indiana, who are taking talked to Brian Smith, the county Democrats. What about the, the other part of the whole issue of immigration undocumented aliens, because, you know, that becomes a very emotional issue for a whole lot of people. Yeah. Yeah, but no human being illegal at our party, our party made that clear and the last two nights human being is illegal, and it's not illegal to cross the border without documentation. You know, Donald Trump, I guess, released some sort of data to make it a criminal offence, but has never passed the law saying that it is illegal criminal offense to cross the border without documentation. Therefore, like I said, no human being is illegal anybody, you know, that tries that is in conflict and on doors, and Central America and Mexico, trying to get to our country for a better life. Once they get to our border, we should welcome them. And if they need care, we should give them care as mayor p talked about last night, that, you know, don't call yourself a Christian if you would let. People drowned in the Rio Grande trying to cross the border, and have no compassion for four people fleeing. Honestly, you know, it was a powerful moment when everybody on the debate stage last night, raise their hand to say that we will provide care, whether you're a citizen or not. And when we come back, more my conversation with Kosciusko county democratic chairman Brian Smith euless into the weekend edition.

"What's, what's going on? How you doing? I am Barcelo. With Ron Hersi producers Garrett, you sparse radio. Welcome, welcome. Hope you're doing well, having a good day. You guys are you guys fans of kosco? Yeah. Goes great. Right. I use it all the time. Oh, you wear the cell diamonds diamond rings at Cosco. They have some jewelry there. I am aware. Yes. Really? Are you serious? You bought a bought from there yet. But I remember we maybe the second day after getting a membership. We went and just said, let's walk through the whole store and see what they have. And so, you know, we walked by the tech section. I got to see all the new fancy ipad and stuff. And I was I can't wait to get one of these, and then we walked by the jewelry section my wife just spent a good fifteen minutes going. Ooh. This one's really nice. Like very obviously, like, hey, look at the don't you think this one's really nice? I think this one's really nice you. But the and you think you're getting a deal there, because you had Costco, you would think so. Well, sometimes you're sometimes you're not. Okay. So what kind of rings you think they sell their, the expensive ones, or I would hope that they're pretty decent at the very least? I don't expect like high in jewelry, and Costco. But could you imagine that somebody goes in shops for an engagement ring or whatever? And then you've got to tell the story that you bought the engaged at Costco, did he know you went to costume. That doesn't that. That's, that's not good. Right. You would think not. All right. So they're a bunch of rings. They're the fifty thousand dollars really like they sell them for fifty. Well. How about this? There's a ten carat diamond that somebody actually bought at Costco. That he guesses on the price ten carat diamond carrot and went to Costco, and they bought it. When you say. Also ten grand Ted grand feeling a little low. I'm going to go to low seventy five both low four.

"Farhan in forget colpon case you're just joining us. We spent the first part of the show talking about mental capital versus physical capital. I dove in a little bit deep spent some time focusing on how we all make decisions. Why? Because it's really important for us to understand how we're making decisions what our subconscious saying and doing because conscious controls a lot of decisions, and also to separate ourselves in the packs of we don't just blindly, follow the play, meaning the pack excuse me me. The stock goes up. We're happy stock goes down. We're sad. We sell and then it goes back up without us. How many times have you thought? Stole the stock. And then boom attorney John almost instantly after you sell and goes higher happens. Everybody happened to me a million times still happen to me every once in a while. Keith just be able to change underst- identify the patterns change the patterns and goes deep as you want, and you can go on and on, and on, and on and on. So now let's talk about markets market rep. For the day. It was up day on Wall Street for most of the day today. You basically had a few big things. Walmart came out with earnings before the open. Surprisingly, the retail stocks, I'm sure you guys are familiar with the retail apocalypse, which has been base of death of retail for a long time. Retail stocks have been languishing as Amazon showed up eating everyone's lunch. Walmart gap up at the open trade, it off and sold off throughout most of the day doesn't mean it's a bad thing doesn't mean it's a good thing. Just means that there's still a lot of overhead resistance, and the stocks just not ready to go just yet. We know WalMart earlier this week came out with next day service and delivery, trying to combat Amazon with their whole online, delivery thing and attract more buyers. It's very, very tough environment. But. Since retail has a lot of retail stocks are reporting earnings in the next several days. And just last week in the next week going forward, I want to spend a few minutes talking about retail stocks. And retail on main street. So when you look at the market, and you look at these retailers, you can look at the X RT, by the way, which is ETF that tracks we Taylor's it's been under pressure for quite some time hasn't been a month or two months. Really it's been falling since for almost what is it? Now, I'd say since September of last year just been steadily declining now. Meanwhile, the stock market hit hit new highs, we're gonna have to go we can change ago. So clearly, the relative strength on a relative basis. Retail stocks have been woefully under performing. Now. There are some retailers, which are outperforming acting very well, but for the vast majority of them are not. Now, if you wanted to see the ultimate poster child here, take a look at shop. Affi- S. H O P now. Granted is another retailer in the traditional sense. It's an online platform that offers retailers. The ability have online. Stores, small and large stocks going straight up. It's a monster. Back in January. The stock was trading at a hundred and thirty bucks. It's now at two seventy eight. Look at the X RT look at WalMart. Even Amazon hasn't gone up as much, but I'm Assange, acted very well. Since then Amazon has had a big move since January December lows. It went from eight I guess it was thirteen hundred thirteen thirteen seven all the way up to about two thousand about nineteen sixty ish. The big move in then it pulled back into the fifty now. It's off the fifty. So for the week before we go into the week, let me just talk about retailers. So obviously, there's a big difference. Now look at a Macy's, for example, ticker symbol, m almost fifty two week low, if not a fifty two week he has a new fifty two week low Kohl's KISS these traditional brick and mortars hasn't gone anywhere in a long time. American Eagle outfitters Eyo hasn't gone anywhere a long time. Retailers have to reinvent themselves. Otherwise not gonna succeed. They have to invest in there. Infrastructure. They've gotta give consumers reason to come into the store. It's not like the old days where people didn't have options. Now, people have options, they don't have to shop in the mall or shop on traditional stores, brick and mortar, look at what happened to Sears. Look what happened to PayLess shoes. The list goes on all these big retailers that were once huge names in the industry imploded because they did not evolve and they did not compete effectively online. Then you have a whole new younger age of retailers that are online and doing very, very well. The retailers brick and mortar retailers now have to survive and the way, they're surviving is by doing a few things are turning the stores into a destination. They have salons in there. Sometimes I'm these doors. They have experiences the big box stores, Kia and kosco have food dining. Imagine you go shopping in a store. I'm sure you guys have been the kosco Kia and many of you at least and you've seen it. It's no longer just. Hey, go, there by your stuff and leave. There's an experience when you go there and the smaller retailers as well. They've custom one on one Bloomingdale's Nordstrom. Some of these other stores have other services that didn't exist twenty thirty forty years ago. And some of those services are personal shoppers. Either the turning into a destination. It doesn't mean that they're they're good stocks going up. I mean Norstrom J W WN is a symbol there. The stocks going straight down just like Macy's and just like several big retailers. And meanwhile Amazon, the online shopping shopper, shop afire these other online stores, even hub spot, h UBS, which is based on online marketing platform, little bit different. But it helps these retailers and other companies market and sell things. Online. Are thriving or or at least doing well. So these big box retailers don't reinvent themselves. They're really in for a very, very tough tough environment now. In addition to becoming a destination dish into having services. They're also investing heavily in infrastructure because they want to be able to compete online and nor to do that. You have to have a robust supply chain. You have to have the ability to compete online by offering quick fast turnaround in an environment, which is difficult. It's not inexpensive. It's expensive to send next day shipping. Or to ship something instantly Amazon, because Amazon the beam that I'm on is, and the reason why they are that way, by the way is because they intimidated customer behavior customers want things they wanna shop online. They want things cheaper and faster. The next day. So I'm John was way ahead of the curve. Thanks, the basis vision. He understood that it's more or less..

"Nobody else is going to protect your government's not going to protect you. CNN's ratings are tanking, ladies and gentlemen, while they should. And the reason is they've hyped up this collusion story to Jack up their ratings. And there's nothing there. Now, if you've listened to this program the last few weeks hear me talk about pseudo events. This whole collusion issue is a pseudo event surrounded by propaganda. No media outlet has been more aggressive in. This regard even more than MSNBC than CNN. CNN is decided is not a news operation say propaganda. Mill. And so it develops these pseudo events, I think Jim Acosta disrupts presidential press conferences because he's directed to do them by Zaka or somebody who is a surrogate to him. I think they want to draw attention to CNN. I thought about this and CNN must like it. And they suck at all the rest of the media. Who drew their wagons around Mr. Kosta, who's nothing but a fraud? CNN had its lowest primetime weekly ratings overall and the key age demographic last week, according to Nielsen media research, April eight to twelve network only averaged audience of six hundred ninety thousand people and one hundred and eighty thousand in the key demographics of twenty five to fifty four. I mean, my show blows through these numbers my radio show. And so does my TV show as a matter of fact. We had almost a million a half years Sunday night at ten pm. They have six hundred ninety thousand average on CNN. At ten pm Sunday night eastern time, we beat CNN and MSNBC combined. And our show at ten pm Sunday night was either the second or third. I think it was the second highest rated show all day on FOX. That's because of you. CNN's coverage last week included three presidential town halls with New York Senator Kirsten gillibrand, Washington governor Jay Inslee, former housing and urban development secretary. Well, the kosco gel branch townhall only had five hundred seven thousand viewers compared to inside his five hundred forty nine thousand and Castro's six hundred fifty four thousand those candidate should be worried. They can't draw a crowd. MSNBC's primetime lineup averaged one point six million viewers with two hundred and forty now that's their primetime one point six my what did I say, Mr. producer? We had about one point five million at ten.

Not a lot of things standing out. How's that? Except. Simple MD be is up twenty seven bucks to one hundred and thirty one another one of these software names that loses money. So guess what? Most of the software names are up nicely today. That's the stand out at this point in time. And I think Tiger Woods just got a birdie at the Players Championship. I'm watching golf is do the show. Yes. He's back to even after seven anyway. And yes, again, we're pre taping. In the final hour on my left screen, a lot of red lots of red and golden gold stocks. Lot of red and commodities today. Lots of red in semiconductors decent action in the financials today. They're hanging in there. But rangebound or still not making the grade at this point in time got some weak, listen retail, especially a dollar generals down nine on their earnings. So you got Burlington and kosco names like loss stores or getting hit on the right side of my screen as I mentioned the software. Stocks acting good. Apple got an upgrade another upgrade today. All of a sudden everybody's all over apple. You know, why? Because it's been moving. Boeings down three today off of the news yesterday. And I got a lot of Email on Boeing, especially from people that own it. And I got one guy didn't get mad with me. But kinda like was upset that I said, I don't know. How is it bad when somebody answers, I don't know to a question on a stock. Seriously. I don't know. But a few things you need to know on Boeing that. I think are import. Luigino airlines has already from for compensation from Boeing. Because they've lose money because you got to ground the planes. How to change the schedule which means other airlines are going to ask for compensation also. And if Boeing says, no. Probably lawsuits. There's definitely going to be lawsuits on people that died. Why couple things are going on number one? It has now been found out that some pilots complaint about these planes doing what these planes did in the crash. Yet Boeing or nobody else. Kind of. Did anything about it? By the way, this is what's being reported. I'm just reporting to you. What's being reported? So this lawsuit risk. And then think about this. Do you know how long it usually takes to get a real answer on an airplane crash on? This is what happened. Months with an s. And then once they find out if they find out what the problem was then they have to go fix the problem..

"I'm like, I'm like AT and T with the Baby Bells, you they were it was very break-up -able. It was very. The case was Microsoft, and you just mentioned Microsoft, but you also said it's really good when people bundle the project is they worked together better. But what happened in the Microsoft case over the years was were barred? From bundling the browser into the operating system barred. From bundling search into the operating system and us Google gets to be born on a garage. A we losing that. Now, I think there's probably an element that we are losing that now. And look I the question. But again the question is how do you do? I mean, that's that's where I come down. How do you do it is Amazon too big Amazon actual per business is very small wholefoods. Everyone's worried about whole foods wholefoods, very small small relative to other supermarkets books. They have a huge huge. I mean, that's where they probably have the monopoly, but everything else is actually tiny. But the collective does that change it? And so these these are the issues, I think, we're. All grabbing the one of the ways to address it is the notion that if you have dominance you can't use that to leverage into another field. Right. And that's what's been happening with say Facebook with under percent. But the the question is are you leveraging just the fact that you've made all of this money, and therefore you have a lot of money to go buy other things or you actually leveraging for example, one of the things I worry about with Amazon is Amazon has so much information about the shopper that they are now starting to create their own products to compete with the products that are on their own platform. You know, by the way, WalMart and kosco have done that forever. They've had white label privacy. But this feels like it may be at a different level. I don't know. But these these are the issues that I think we need to focus on and talk about in debate. And one of the things I worry about is that there's not enough conversation about it. But we do for another financial crisis ready for it. So Jamie diamond was called in two thousand and in the middle of financial crisis by his daughter. I believe them was in high school and to daddy. What's a financial crisis? And he said back to her something that happens every seven or eight years. Look, you're looking at your watch if he's right? We're way overdue. Do I think we will have another crisis of some sort? Absolutely. Will it look like what happened two thousand eight in my mind? Absolutely. Not. It could be better. But by the way, it also could be worse. The one thing that I I feel it was the lesson for me in the financial crisis in writing too big to fail is that every financial crisis really function with one thing it's debt it's leverage in the system. You can have all the bad actors you want doing all the bad things, you could imagine. Whether it's credit rating agencies being conflicted or bankers being greedy regulators. Not minding the store unit. But in west there's leverage in the system. It doesn't matter. And so you say to yourself. Okay. Where's the leverage now? Well, there's corporate leverage. That's real. I don't think we have it in the banking system so much, but where's the real debt? Where's the real leverage? When I wrote too big to fail. We used to use that phrase in the context of banks today, we use it in the context of countries. And when you talk about the relationships between countries, the fact that China, for example, owns so much of our debt. That's where all of this gets really interesting interesting. In a bad way. I hate to say until which we do. To me, the long term thing that we need to fix way beyond the corporate system. But the corporate system is is obviously huge piece of it. Because it pays the taxes and creates revenue for the country. Is we need to somehow fixed the larger debt problem in the United States at a country level, but that's a hard one. And thank you for being with us. Thank you. Appreciate it. And on that note that is
