"Nine news was taken into custody over the weekend after shooting a man at a Patriot rally. Patriot. Rarely taking place and there was also a quote black life matters TEPA soup drive taking place at the same time at Denver's Civic Park. The super rally was meant to be ironic. In response to comments that the far left protesters soup cans so they become sentient. There's a photograph you watch it on Youtube of the man being taken into custody. The incident occurred after a man was participating in the Patriot rally sprayed the security guard with Mace and slapped him. So it's Kinda hard to tell what's going on, but there's a bunch of video footage but not of the direct shooting. So essentially you have this. You have that's the May spraying and right beforehand. This guy slapped the security guard right before. Yeah, that's got killed right before that happened he was in an argument with. A black lives matter protester who had assured that said black guns matter. Yeah, there's the slap. So essentially, there's an argument between two people at opposing sides going on another guy comes in and breaks it up, and then this guy who was The for their for the pro-police rally walks away slaps the security guard and then sprayed with Mace and the security guard. Puts one shot in them killing him it it looks like. What the Mace that the security guard was pointing a gun at him so that's The move to be spraying someone pointing gun with you you in this happened real fast. So essentially, you can watch the video up to the point where this guy who got shot walks away from the person who's arguing with like. So he's they're arguing it's intented. He walks away three four or five gunshot. So in that three or four five, he slapped a security guard sprayed with mace and got shot. Yeah. The man. I guess the band's name was The Security Guards is Matthew Robert Dole off thirty years old who is he with who is he's guarded? He was there with the news station so it was in Denver Civic. Park. So he was either with the news crew or they are right near the new stations headquarters. Hired police for a private company basically, exactly he was hired police from protecting them from protesters. Theoretically Jester Yeah. So ironically, he's the guy was there to protest police and killed a hard police and he was killed by a basically yeah. Like a on-duty or like kind of like A. Privatize police guys somewhere. I shouldn't have been killed by well they don't want you to kill that fucking. All guys. A matter. This guy in trouble yet remains in jail Sunday without bond on suspicion of first degree murder in the shooting. Again there wasn't like direct video footage of the shooting I'm sure it'll come out though just kinda far away shots and Shit Denver police arrested. Dole. Off on suspicion. And after he confronted this guy photos of the incident, show the man slapping Dole often using pepper spray near the Denver Art Museum. And shot the man he was very quickly toned I mean I don't think pepper spray is considered a deadly weapon right like. I don't know if doubts I was surprised because the first thing I saw was pepper sprayed. Then you see the photo of slapping I just it just makes no sense when you can kill somebody for slapping you know. It's interesting though it paints a picture of what you'd see if there was more defunding of police departments because people would be buying more and more private police. So you'd see how the these cases would be. Sucks. The is I forget the name of the guy that organized the pay, the quote, Patriot rally, but the the guy who got killed his name is Lee a leak help Kutner and Lee's son has come out and says, my dad didn't belong any fucking group his dad honest. If you look at them and the photograph, he's clearly the type of do that would show pro-police rally. And I think he just showed up to. Be Pro. What he was right now the guy organizing the thing was kind of a troll to be honest with you. So and then his mother Lee Kelly who got kids mother It was their right to assemble agreed agree what I'm saying is what I'm saying these these these guys that are kind of trolls organizing these things were violence is happening like I. Don't think Lee was never necessarily completely aligned with the guy that was organizing well, right. But it the same be said for several the other demonstration absolutely and whatnot absolutely absolutely out of these a lot of these. Protests. Pop Up. Not. Be. Anywhere. Near absolutely the it was just it was just is John Out There But. His Mother didn't make things better. Lease mother who's dead going on the Northeast Arkansas Tea Party. facebook group announcing the death saying her son was murdered because he backed the police. Not, the case lady the are fucking stupid. This guy shouldn't be dead this guy it's just stop doing this. We gotTA stop doing he was murdered by police rates like it's. It's a real. Ironic cluster fuck. Man It's a good one. For you pat. Good. So Kim. Kim was crazy. 'CAUSE tributing it people were tributing at antiques. There was even bigger. It's just growing. The. Best part about the ANTIFA it was the left-wing people as they call it the antique drive as joke did it as a joke but anyway, right you're getting attributed to one of the groups that these fucking like by the news these agrees both these both these groups are like little extremely route wound up, maybe avoid the protests people. All right. So Kim Jong. UN very alive and still very crazy if any of you guys were interested, he held a two hour long parade on Saturday and at the end of it, it turned into like a fucked up version of the macy's Thanksgiving parade. As, like they started rolling out like floats with weapons. Kudarat. There's an eleven axle truck by the. Experts to believe to be the world's largest liquid fueled Inter continental ballistic missile much of that. Look, at that fucking thing. That was that was that was the end of the show and right before that. They started rolling out like a truck beds filled with rocket launchers if you have that image and a new submarine. So after he talked for like an hour and a half, he just started rolling out all the weapons and Yeah. That's basically these are all people are like. People are like shitting their pants because they didn't realize that they had that big of a missile. And all the nuclear experts like this isn't good. This could definitely be. Sent over the C at us. Yeah it was. It was the seventy fifth anniversary of the Korean workers. Party and the Supreme Leader Supreme leader was landed on pretty thick. He. Went on to say about the nuclear weapons. If anyone hurts the national safety or threatens to use military force against us, I, will preemptively mobilize all our strongest offenses. To punish them offensive forces to punish them. So he's GonNa. You know if we if we threaten him, he's GonNa shoot that missile off. and. It was for you. Know he's. Really wants to West. Had some good points. He he he wanted everyone to know while he was crying during the the speech that. No one in North Korea has gotten the Cova Nineteen, not a single case. In North, Korea. Yeah. Nobody's died of starvation believe there either even though it is true, it's because he's a hermit nation. What does he talk to anyone travel? They have Kobe. He says the fact that we have defended all our people from the harmful epidemic disease sweeping the whole world can be said to be not kick the natural duty and success of our Party. So yeah, he's really taking a victory lap on the fake no covert over there. If it's true. That would be the most miraculous thing of all time I'm pretty sure he and some other the leaders hop on planes though so I don't think it's true and he was like hiding in a bunker with the with all the women. He's full of Shit anyways speech was so emotional that when the camera pan it appeared that tens of thousands of people in the crowd were also crying along with him. It's not clear if they were tears of joy or if they were worried, he was going to ask them all to Jonestown themselves at the end of his speech. So pretty emotional day on Saturday. North Korea. Crazy crazy that that exists today twenty, twenty North Korea's a thing. It is easy. Wow. All right. Well, a tune into radio we're GONNA talk a little maybe a little bit more..

Early morning military parade held in North Korea for anniversary of ruling party

"Held a bit of a party, the 75th anniversary of the KP W, the Korean Workers Party or Communist Party of North Korea. And the Kim Jong UN used it as an opportunity to Unveil some, frankly, a surprising weapons systems, everything from a new, larger ICBM that has, as of this early this morning never been seen before. And there wasn't just one trembling down the parade way. There were several in a row. Right down to some small arms, then we didn't know the North Koreans. Had now not granted. You know, this isn't the entire North Korean army. But it's a thousands and thousands of troops representing the North Korean naval Infantry, which is they're Marines. Army border guards the whole thing off some first impressions and I'll send a link out to the unedited Fourcade 2.5 hour stream. But it's given us some insight into whether or not Corona has actually hit mirth Korea or not so thing one. Kim Jong UN is wearing a Western style suit and to be totally honest, he looks like he's lost weight. The reasoning behind that is because nobody would survive the encounter. If they came to him and said We're going to put you in a corset for 2.5 hours. Hear me out. We're gonna put you on a course it for 2.5 hours. Make you look thinner. Even his sister probably wouldn't wouldn't be down with that. It really looks like legit. He lost weight, which might give credence to did he have the cove ID four months ago or one of the five times this year he's been declared dead. Maybe there was some sickness. Besides the obvious thing, which is that he is a mother, love and fat ass on DH, the fattest man in North Korea. And I don't think That's even a debate and sew up there on the dais and the viewing stand. Of course, he had rows and rows and rows of the stone faced upper ranks of the North Korean People's Army. These are the guys in the khaki uniforms with the rose of medals. Festooning their uniform from their collarbone to their scrotum on the left side and the right side there, just so out there so awesome that they don't just wear one row one set of ribbons on there. Left chest. No, no, no, no. There that much better than everyone else on Earth. They need to rose. They should wear two suits. They're going to be wearing him down the back soon anyway, The skill with those guys is to not Crack and emotion. The only emotion acceptable is gushing tears, which on cue happened today. So Kim Jong un gave about 20 minutes speech before, he said, Unleash the amazing parade in Korea. So thing one nobody and there were about 100 luminaries, etcetera on the viewing, Stan. Nobody wearing a mask. Oh, and they were shoulder to shoulder on in the front row. Kim Jong un was flanked. Shoulder shoulder by his generals and then behind him in several rose not to. But as they say in certain military services were other senior ranking guys. No masks. No

F. R. I. love love love LA wait I've got a new ending for love of again five three forty live everywhere on the I heart radio app prices here Superbowl Sunday for your twenty sixth of April two thousand twenty love love love love LA love C. in my ending someone throws a cat you're sending cell but the cat's name did we ever find that out I think Vallejo Vallejo the isn't and you know what's funny is there isn't L. got it worse gado gado is is accent advancing anywhere but no the cat's name is Stockton so but it lived in Vallejo so that's that's the guaranteed no wonder you tossed it I'm so we'll I get to some codes ID numbers here a little a little later and we do have a lot of well we have a local business that will be talked to at nine thirty AM the producers Sam it's in thousands tarantula brewing to which I hill friendly hills brewing yeah I'm with the menu and everything so you want you want to do it now that's up to you we do it at nine thirty either way is good all right and is your brother it's been open for a well I'm not quite a year yeah you're in August yeah August is when they opened up they did the soft open so there's there are there are a lot of local craft brew places and if you liked their products if they had a tasting room most all of them are doing growlers and take away and and then the whole thing so besides you know blue brewing in putting it in storage so if you like going to those kind of places I'm keeping them in business because I love the employees now or filling the growlers and things like that and that way is fresh and the cat gets better anyway I'm like that well bottom line up front Kim Jong un is not dead it is the ease that there's no guarantees not incapacitated but like I told handle on Thursday M. as of Thursday and as of right now he's not dead as as we're talking about last night there's a couple mattresses a couple signs if there was disarray or whatever because they have a clamp it down policy after Kim il sung died after Kim Jong il died he was virtually died of a stroke while on the magical bullet proof train them the country lockdown we saw sort of a simulation of a of a what looks like when they change power the difference back then though was that it was pretty clear that Kim Jong un was his successor and is one of the basic rules of dictatorship is that you don't have a plan of succession because whoever that guy is now is gonna start plotting around you that's that's what some say but there's enough account Manding examples where that that doesn't work yeah there's loads of people it should've shot Hitler and they had been taken over but they they had to wait for him to do it but for Kim Jong un it is not been quickly such a young guy but he's a he's a young guy in the body of an eighty year old type two diabetic whose five seven three hundred pounds so maybe our plan succession might have been a good idea I'm he is I believe it or not looking at him he is a father of three he's married to functioning woman and he was he started the party out for the boy over ten years ago or so Dennis Rodman on one wittingly delivered the news that there was a lovely daughter Kim jong-un's wife was visibly pregnant well I think after the second time Rodman went to North Korea and he was asked about Kim Jong uns family owned and Kim introduced Rodman to his family so he met the family and Rodman said yeah it's a brand new beautiful baby daughter and they have a beautiful family and he's a great dad like how it was what I would do is Rodman now what I could gather the bad that is and secondly how would he know if Kim's good data but Hey he develop nuclear weapons first kids okay how's that what have you done for your for your son I'm so anyway one of the metrics and I was talking about was activity and some of the V. I. P. areas of North Korea which is anything beautiful and nice is a VIP area and the the cams travel by train in North Korea share it that is how they travel I'm and they have the armored train is literally is what they do they have a pre trained when it goes between an hour to twenty minutes before the main train and it proves the track and there's exclusive private train tracks that only the highest of government officials can use and have have other right away no one else is on the and these are the contracts so first a guard train goes out about an hour before to twenty minutes that confirms that the track is good and then that gigantic opulent bulletproof green Kim train comes through and behind it are the guards and security guys and all that that's all the travel within the country then oh by the way when they know Hey let's pop up to one St and go jet skiing tomorrow they do everything at least twenty four hours in advance they literally cleared the neighborhoods if there is because there are cities in farm and all that right up against the of the train tracks they literally go to those neighborhoods and say yeah this time tomorrow you're gonna have to leave your house and go that way go away from the tracks maybe a mile or two and they will tell you we can come back they don't I mean they trust nobody so anyway this train open source intelligence has revealed that the Kim train is up at the the E. M. one St compound when I say compound I mean imagine Disney land along the LOC and there are opulent palaces and beach houses and cabanas for gas in the whole thing there's a world class hospital and that the hospital not just like that the hospital I'm John Yang has a big him only wing it has a wing just for any anyone named Kim who is actually from the the ruling Kim family not all the other camps across the north river and so the other one St they have another world class hospital just for Kim and this is where the Chinese medical experts have gone to so there's no guarantee you that he's not incapacitated but dead he is most probably not deathbed that's a possibility will his sister come out and start making a statement form and all that that's not a possibility it will she be behind whoever's doing it maybe that might be happening that's far more realistic but because there's a lot of that all over the news tonight no his also for Kim yo Jong now is expected to know nobody who knows what they're talking about expect her to take over people who don't I'm like yeah you're Andrea Mitchell's and M. S. N. B. C. they're they're speculating that and the worst feminist take other way is if North Korea has a female leader before we do there's something wrong no that's how frigging monarchies work there Gloria that's that's not that's not a good thing that's not a no votes were cast yeah that's that's not a problem for a while yeah that's not the bar that you measure the progress of American females is whether that north Korea's someone name a female named Kim takes power all the way they should encourage all you feminist the reason she won't is because North Korea and South Korea are some of the most chauvinistic societies in the face of the earth full stop period final that's that I'm so she might be behind the scenes but she will not be the the front man of the Korean workers party some all right back in just a second good news from the vin Scully family compound and and some more right after this I am the the latest Covance on Superbowl Sunday KFI am six forty live everywhere on the I heart radio up Michael to pay with a news thousands of people get impact the sanded Newport beach where residents compared weekend crowds to July fourth as lifeguard remind the people to stay apart yellow beaches and trails for the most part along with playgrounds are still closed and anti vaccine activists arrested in Idaho after she repeatedly refused orders to leave a playground by cops that have been closed because the pandemic has now apologized to the police officer woman says she was honoured with the constant stress of being stuck at home and trying to take care of her cooped up kids thirty say a man in a camouflage hat fire the military style rifle that neighbors inside their Maryland home before he was shot and killed by sheriff's deputy prosecutors trying to figure out the shooter's motive for the attack check out the driver the five next tell me what it costs to unclog my drain over the phone isn't that complicated no it's not it makes no sense at all they obviously have a price well you've got a nice aroma who are you Mike diamond the smell that plumbers will you tell me how much dust off my drink ninety nine dollars but you haven't seen it don't need to.

"Look at the day's big stories with our news panel which today is John Everard form a UK ambassador to North Korea. Uruguay and Belarus and James Bowl global editor at the bureau and all of the system among other fine titles. We will start in island where political parties are still trying to figure out how all if the results of last weekend's election can be assembled into government. The election was notable for its abrupt. Ending of the century-old duopoly of the fina foil and finagle parties. Now very much in the mix I'll shine fain of unsavory recent history and capitus skeleton closet in the interest of keeping Shin Fain and perhaps certain of their associates out of the republic's government a grand coalition of Phoenix. Oil and Finna. Gale has been suggested the as we go to both fina foil and Finna Gail appear unenthused by this prospect James. First of all in this specific instance we will talk about the wider principle of grand coalition. Shortly but in this specific instance. Would it be right of FINA? File Fina foil rather and Finna Gail to do that because Xinfang got more votes than any of the other parties obviously not enough to command a majority in the oil but they are. As of the other Saturday the most Popular Party in Ireland They therefore entitled to have a shot governing In my understanding I may have misremembered. They got the most votes but not quite the most the most And I would suggest that if you can claim a sort of set to legitimacy you have it but essentially if you can for if you are the largest party. The general principle is you have the first chance to try and form a government Island is much more sort of formalized sort of coalition talks that we would have our electoral system here If she can clearly doesn't have the maths for To get a majority guide a coalition. That would work. There's nothing illegitimate about the other parties. Tried to find that the issue sort of comes around grand coalitions because they're always a profoundly sort of using prospect and they sort of designed to be that sort of hope in a sort of proportional system is that you know parties of the left or of the rights to make politics very warm dimensional which isn't anymore To between them have nothing common that they can actually a fairly big shared agenda done. So you know you get one party of the left. A couple of small satellites it can actually pursue a green agenda liberal agenda. Whatever it wants if you end up in the situation where you have unsavory parties Ashim Fain may still be many voters Republic of Ireland As far right parties awesome might be elsewhere if the only way to prevent yourself teaming up with them is to team up with the mainstream opposition. You end up with the government doesn't really please. Many vitus doesn't agree on very much in won't get very much done and the issue with these grand coalitions. He's always a K. You might be able to hold this together. You might even be able to hold it together for a full term. But you won't get very much done you wait. Make people very happy and so what what's going to happen at the next ballot ballot box to sort of make voters reject that sort of extreme party. That meant you couldn't form the coalition. You want it well. That is one of the arguments I guess against a grand coalition in this instance that it might just annoy enough people to teach in fine up for an actual win at the next election but John Is. There are there circumstances in which it is justified putting together a grand coalition which could very easily be portrayed and indeed may even be an establishment stitch-up. Well yes I mean remember. Australia's run by just such an arrangement for twenty years. Or so the whole thing broke apart In catastrophically as in the last year and it was not the most inspiring a government. As as James said I mean it didn't add to excite people in a lot of people take a certain amount done and Austria continue to function. But that's Australia. I think a lot depends on which country you have got. The coalition of what political culture is a grand coalitions including Shin Fain? Of course bring out a whole host of problems which included in your introduction Which don't apply in other countries grand coalitions for example in Germany That might include the FD in any shape or form. Would I think Two days annoy an awful lot more people and rightly so So I guess the Bland Art is. It all depends. Well James Germany's actually quite a good example of this because the Shin fine and afdc a not comparable in many respects but they are comparable in the days a certain amount of queasiness among mainstream parties Attached to the idea of dealing with them. Is it again right? If a party is popular as Xinfang clearly is now in the Republican violent for other parties to say on point of principle. We are not going to do with them. I think the whole point of a political parties to represent a set of principles and if your principles reject a party with a history of violence or if they reject a quite far right party with some very dark racial overtones. That's well and good. That's what your voters Bhakti today when they voted you in so I think it's entirely legitimate for parties to rule out certain other coalition partners. The issue is that does often leave you with the only option of sort of teaming up with your main opposition party to leave that one out You know I don't say grand coalitions are always should never happen is just. It's always assigned. Some things got a little wrong. Said if Y'ALL RYAN agenda I mean as it comes to sort of Germany or to other countries where they're looking to do that. I think the one thing that any party going into that kind of arrangement has to think about is how can keep its own identity. How can it campaign? How can it sort of? Make sure that it doesn't just become the target of everything that goes wrong in the country over the next four years as the Party. Most despises be that Xinfei Nordea. Afdc only gained power and only gained popularity one of the key things would populism and populace that we tend to see is the second day. Addyi IDEA OFFICE HAVING TO DO ANYTHING. It tends to fall apart quickly. They don't tend to be very good Running the train sometime despite the Sega Mussolini uncertain at good at getting the bins collected as we kept finding out what the BNP one cancels. It was an England decade or more. This is a fairly common phenomenon whereby revolutionaries who have come up Through a process of making grand gestures and striding barricades and so on get confronted John with the reality of governing much of which is extremely tedious. But in that kind of dynamic that James Discussing if you get to a point where there is a mainstream party cooperating with let's call it a friend slash extremist party who usually ends up changing the most. Is there any argument that you can? You can turn you. Can normalize a guess a popular store extremist party or or do the extremists tend to end up bringing everybody else down to their level. I think are examples pointing both ways out that I mean in the Red Green coalition in Germany What again twenty years ago. So now The Greens did extremely well They managed to graph a lot of their agenda onto the future. Spd manifesto and on green politics is now deeply entrenched in German political culture. So I think school that is a major victory If you look how swear I I would call them extremist party. But I I. I do think that the Lib dem's came out particularly well from the coalition with the conservative in the the UK Other examples of course the the mattress put all our minds. Term Comrades is the Chombo Front host ten members with the Korean Workers Party in North Korea for the past. Fifty years is unclear. What they stand for longer. But they're still there. We will come back to North Korea. Later in the news panel. Let's move on now and look at the letters page of the Financial Times for it is dawn to this morning by MRI from George Soros hungarian-american Zillionaire and favorite bogeyman of the foil. Hat Tendency Soros. It seems is among those concerned by the corroding of democracy by social media in particular facebook which has become an awesomely efficient delivery system for demented conspiracy theories not a few of them concerned with George. Soros his letter takes issue with Mark Zuckerberg's ingenuous recent for better regulation of Big Tech saw suggests that if Zuckerberg really wanted something done. He would do it himself. An James George Soros. I should make it clear. I'm not at all being paid to say. This does kind of have a point doesn't he? I should probably disclose TV J. Get some funding open societies foundation which is funded by Soroush. Rinaldo is what's actually paid up conspirator okay fair enough but But you know quite the philosophy Taylor Swift There is bad blood. Here Soros and Zuckerberg have a bit of a history. And I'm not quite gratified I think. Sarah's must've read a new statesman peace of mind because Zuckerberg and Sandberg essentially sort of commissioned research into Soros when his solid foundations etc. We're looking at facebook's role in misinformation and some of the messaging that they were putting out on him I mean especially given Zuckerberg is himself. Jewish was getting towards quite problematic territory and seemed to know what they were paying into. They were sort of making a point of identifying groups that were trying to make facebook accountable as soros-funded and given the kind of hard right attacks on anything that soros-funded this was quite a nasty dog whistle campaign that either if Zuckerberg and Sambat were so ignorant as to not know. Dahlquist leg that they're incompetent or if they knew what they were doing at the helm of service with two billion users then they ought to Milan to keep their jobs. So I did the immensely popular thing of Calling for by subdued guy on facebook has said Seda not returned my call so often. There are some calls for this. Essentially these people are at the helm of a sort of social network bigger than any country. They Utterly unaccountable to shareholders uttley accountable really to themselves and they've proven themselves bad custodians so if it takes a billionaire to call. Alita at least will dispose of the parapet for good Joe George Soros says As as to suggest that both Mark Zuckerberg and Sheryl Sandberg should be removed from facebook. Should they and if so how? Come to remove them This is not a democratic institution. You can't vote them out of office. shareholder volt. Don't see it coming Laws could be passed. Of course laws could be passed. What kind of laws and who's ever going to pass them. I I mean so. They be removed interesting. Theoretical point don't know I don't I mean flying pigs no not going to happen. It is a considerable can of Worms. Soros concludes his letter by saying it goes without saying that I support government regulation of social media platforms those strike you as we had John. How little of that. There still is a well. Yes it does Also it seems to be the one thing on which George Soros on. Motsuku BURKE AGREE. I mean mock. Psychopaths letter is permeated with hungering appeal to government to come in and save the world..

time it should be okay yeah if if if you're good planner not still though you're you're you're leaving an airport crowded with dumb **** and you're flying to an airport with dumb **** and I've got to say a lot of airports that are at their very busy today Boston New York a lot of the colder weather states I mean it's really a kind of a crapshoot because you don't know if it's the snow's going to hold you up cancel your flight and it's just you know it's all luck and by the way if you thought your being all clever in taking the one on one to get back to nor cal jokes on you because it is gridlock through Oxnard ma'am other people have ways and Google maps as well you know you're not the only person with that app but because the fifty is close and then I five is closed it will automatically route you let's see let's let's say I wanna go to Nancy Pelosi's district just to poop on the street what happens to my property in I'm sorry drop a better and we'll see what it says so here's my directions to right now it route for me up one on one well and because everybody wants to be smarter than you and got one a one there is other heavy traffic between of the four or five enter thank you canyon and then you think you're out of it because you're three thousand oaks look there's more three thousand oaks and by the time you get to Oxnard is just it goes from red to black which means you should kill yourself a so that means so it's it's it's so it's not working for you just pull over hello over the outlet malls in Camarillo or and bravery brewing in Lancaster and you'll you'll enjoy yourself a but just don't drive am so North Korea as you recall a couple weeks ago a official from the Korean workers party bulls defense committee or as we say department defense said that the United States is was going to get a Christmas present and if sanctions were not lifted and demands of the denuclearize were not lifted by close of business two thousand nineteen and because he said the phrase Christmas present bar assumption was because north Koreans know exactly when Christmas is because South Korea is a very heavily Christian country that on or about December twenty fifth their time or our time some thing was going to happen perhaps a high profile test launch of a new ICBM and all that and so the experts began you know the the wondering the and the speculation and I've been reporting on that then Christmas arrives in the a Korean times on nothing happens so this time Tuesday as it was Christmas Eve I was pointing out that well you know for if they're waiting for Christmas to be American time they have they had had to wait till nine PM west coast time well nothing happened so now we're out of it so meanwhile a tremendous assets were moved to Okinawa to monitor a potential launch for two reasons to know about it but then secondly to gain any free intelligence we could get from such a launch and all those cute communications having on the ground and so there were hundreds of millions of dollars of very high tech surveillance in the air RQ four drones at fifty five thousand feet of the RC one thirty five cobra ball as it's called which is a missile launch detection aircraft I mean is dedicated to monitoring other people's missile launches whether it's Iran or North Korea and those role in the air and getting re field and staying in the air nothing has happened and as of right now nothing's happened still so the the reason that that's kind of surprising again is because the north Koreans since their recent successes in the past six or seven years they went from making some bellicose statements after the fact to pre bellicose sing and then delivering so when they've said very soon you are running dog lackey capitalist hearts will be beating faster with the launch of the why song fifteen missile or the people down to our or whatever three I'm not make that up it's the tape dong too and then they would deliver there be a lunch and it got to the point where we're Japan but warned and say Hey don't do any of that over our airspace crap and the North Korea would go well how you like me now and they would do whatever you know and so this was unusual in that there was such a high profile thing we took it seriously we deployed everything that we're not going to shoot it down because that would be an act of war am and we're not going to fire the first shot and them testing missiles not a first shot it's a test of the missile but we push things forward roll one hundred to people's Christmases a lot of Air Force aircrew an unlisted ground through in Nebraska their families are sitting here waiting for mommy or Daddy to get home so we take it seriously so ultimately now the secondary effect is we look competent and they don't and that's a formula for provocation for Kim Jong un now after he said that Iraq after it was reported that he approved of that statement because that statement would not have come out of North Korea if you're not approved it so now that we look competent and he doesn't now you can probably count on something happening and that is how you North Korea that's how that works that's the that's the pro tip on how to how to watch that particular ecosystem all right will come back yes free peg free porque who's not in for free pork well you might be and it has been for a long "In Monday's are necessary doesn't have quite the same ring at Fridays Awesome. But we hope you're weeks off to a good start and we thank you side World North Korea is a secretive country that threatens people who expose those secrets and it doesn't allow independent media organizations to exist the government control the radio and TV stations that are allowed and it's illegal for North Koreans to listen to broadcasts made from other countries so in a nutshell if the leadership doesn't want certain information getting out it makes it difficult and dangerous for North Koreans to find it out and as far as foreign journalists are concerned North Korea Emmett who's allowed in where they're allowed to go and what they're allowed to cover that's why international observers are confused by something noticed recently at some high rise buildings in North Korea's capital the views which once overlooked the rooftops of government buildings are now blocked obstructed or blurred by new coverings the The New York Times North Korean leader Kim Jong UN has built up a number of high rise apartments and the people allowed to live there are elite members of society but the top ores of these apartments are where these coverings have appeared n Que News Dot Org and they believe are hundreds of apartments and hotel rooms with windows covered and in some cases only on upper floors windows the CO hotel a famous destination for tourists were replaced with translucent covers so guests can't make out detail of anything outside the overarching goal of all of these is as far as we understand to prevent people being able to look into nowadays North Korea's Forbidden City the Forbidden City analysts say is a nickname for a section of Pyongyang where important government buildings are located the headquarters of the Korean Worker's Party and other offices were Kim and the elites from his inner circle conduct business the position and height of many of these now block windows analysts say seems to be fueling the regime this paranoia if you were an assassinated probably love to be someplace higher if you wanted to try and use drop if you wanted to observe who was coming in who's got you wanted trying to establish somebody's schedule these apartments that would give you a great view of who is in which office but by closing off these windows in what's known as young to Kim's regime is also likely taking away the views of some people who are very powerful top North Korean officials who've been given those exclusive apartments those elites who analysts say the dictator bribes with luxury goods and cash to keep him in power when you get to the stage that you're blocking the view of your your apparently trusted elites families in North Korea I think it it's something that is potentially going to breed some discontent other say those "From Bloomberg's European headquarters in London. I'm Sandra Kilhof with this Bloomberg radio business flash. Now, European futures pointing to a positive open with the footsie and CAC forty percent. The Dax due to rise three tenths of a percent in just under. Now. It's time is often Asian session that has seen the Nikkei close up shop half a percent while the hang sang is trading higher. Chinese Hsieh's outperforming with Shanghai compensate. I three hundred up to ten two percent positive trade Centerman really having an impact morning off the PVC governor gang said, China and US on general agreement on many crucial issues. US futures, however pointing to a bit of a mixed trading session with S and P five hundred futures fairly flat. The Dow however set to full four tenths percent analysts saying that Boeing could be a big drag on the index day. We're seeing shares and stood guard already taking a hit this morning this off to China grounded all of its Boeing seven three seven. Max planes after yesterday's deadly Ethiopian Airlines crash turning to bonds. And we're seeing ten year treasury yields up one basis point at the moment at a two six four one percent. The dollar slightly higher this morning. The euro on changed. However tenure boondoggles also fled fairly flat this morning, that's despite some German industrial data showing a drop in output, the tax Lear, however trading lower by three tenths of upset after fourth quarter. GDP data show Turkey is in a recession. The pound also fooling amid reports Theresa May's losing support for her Brexit deal ahead of tomorrow's crucial vote cable currently down two tenths of absent at one spot to nine nine finally taking a quick check on oil this morning WTO is up half upset above fifty six dollars a barrel. Brent crude just above sixty six dollars a barrel. That's a Bloomberg business flash. Now, here's Leon guarantee with more on what's going on around the world. Thank you, Sandra. North Korea has largely symbolic election for the national legislator. An election scene is mainly an. Endorsement of the Kim Jong UN regime, though, it is were offered a single state sponsored candidate per seat selected by the ruling Korean Workers Party, Kim, Jon owned is the most prominent candidate despite his complete control of the party and government he's seeking reelection in his Pyongyang district in Venezuela electricity, slowly returning to Caracas after four days of a blackout Venezuela's unstable power grid. It's unknown. Whether the lights will stay on the struggle. A the electricity is fueling the other power struggle there between President Nicolas Maduro and opposition leader Guido and remnants of the Berlin Wall will go under the hammer at an auction in the U K two sections of the wall that once that the heart of Berlin are estimated defects as much as one hundred thousand pounds that's one hundred thirty thousand dollars the auction will be held tomorrow afternoon in billings has according to some as palace auctions who will conduct the sale global news twenty four hours a day. On Erna tick tock on Twitter, powered by more than twenty seven hundred journalists and analysts in more than one hundred twenty countries. I'm young DARREN'S. This is Bloomberg Marcus. I'll pick it up from era. Actually, thank you very much for that. Let's get out to the story around bowing shares eight today after Chinese regulators have grounded all of its seven three seven max planes. This is after one hundred and fifty seven people onboard. The Ethiopian Airlines flight perished when the plane came down soon after leaving out a satellite yesterday was the second fatal crash involving that modeling five months. Let's get more on this with Bloomberg opinion columnist Kris Bryant, Chris here's line. Air crash was also 737 max. What can we link between? These two incidences maybe beyond just the fact that they both crashed and early part of their flights. Really too early to say at this stage. Clearly, though, the fact that they did involve the same type of brand new aircraft taking off and crashing. So quickly. Is of immense concern, it's quite simply this doesn't happen in the airline industry. He's track record is remarkable when it comes to safety. So clearly the fact that these two crashes have happened so quickly involving a new type of Achraf will be forefront of investigators mind end of the manufacturer Boeing Boeing is sending a team out to the crash site and regulators will be watching this one closely, and as you voted China having grounded the planes this morning out of an abundance of caution. We've also heard from Ethiopian Airlines, which is also grounding its entire fleet now of seven three seven max eight aircraft. Do these moves by the airline itself? And also by China's sort of a precursor to other regulators, grounding this aircraft. I'm thinking primarily about the FAA over in the United States. Well, it certainly couldn't it could be. Yes. Right now that hasn't happened and clearly Alan's in the United States and elsewhere have expressed confidence in their plan, which after all has been flying for a couple of years now, China has grounded the planes. But then as with everything between the US and China one has to wonder whether political concerns mixed up in that too. So we don't know, but it's clearly a risk. And and if you look at Boeing Shazad morning, no doubt. Investors will be very concerned that this could lead to a broader grounding of these planes and these planes after all fundamental core of Boeing's strategy and also of its profit development in coming years. So any grounding of the planes? Any question marks Everett's future would be hugely damaging to the company. Let's flesh out that last point a bit more detail. I it's it's ramping up production. Isn't it the company to fulfil more than five thousand orders? I mean that is why this could be such a huge reputational blow for the business plan. So down all the way to twenty twenty three. I mean, how does it stack up some of its other product offerings? You're talking about this being critical for their for their revenues. Right. So the seven three seven max is the workhorse of failings fleet. It's a re engined plane, meaning the seventy seven. First manufactured decades ago was given the new fuel efficient engine sake compete with a new offering from from Airbus the a three twenty Neo on both of these plans that the eighth we twenty seven three seven have thousands and thousands borders because essentially what airlines used for most of their flights and the hugely profitable as well. So very high volume is very high profits, and you only need to look at Boeing ShopRite over the past three years or so to to realize quite how profitable those can be Boeing shares. I think you've gained about three hundred percent in that period. They're up already that you present. I'll say this year on confidence that Boeing will successfully produce more than fifty dollars planes a month, and therefore really bringing a lot of prophet and cash the fact that these plans could be grounded would oversee raise questions as to whether that will continue now right now, the airlines are generally expressing confidence in their planes. All right. Thanks so much. Chris Bloomberg.

Brent crude just above the sixty six dollars a barrel. Mark that's a Bloomberg business flash. Now, here's leeann guarantee with more on what's going on around the world. Good morning, Sandra. North Korea has voted in launch a symbolic election for the national legislator and election seen as million endorsement of the Kim Jong UN regime offered a single state sponsorship candidate per seat selected by the ruling Korean Workers Party Kim, Jon onus. Prominent candidate despite his complete control of the party and government, he's seeking reelection in his Pyongyang district in Venezuela electricity, slowly returning to Caracas after four days of a blackout. But with Venezuela unstable power grid. It's unknown whether the lights will stay on and the rest of the country remains largely in the dunk. The struggle of electricity is fueling the other power struggle there between president nNcholas Maduro and opposition leader, one Guido and remnants of the Berlin Wall will go under the hammer at an auction in the UK two sections of the wall that once split the house of Bill estimated to fetch as much as one hundred thousand pounds that's one hundred thirty thousand dollars the auction will be held tomorrow afternoon in billings. Hearst according to some as palace auctions, which will conduct the sale global news twenty four hours a day on air and tick tock on Twitter powered by more than twenty seven hundred journalists and analysts in both the one hundred twenty countries, I'm young guarantees. This is playing. Markus. Thanks so much. Leeann now European finance ministers. Meet in Brussels today in focus will be the outlook for the European economy as political uncertainty mounts over Tuesday's Brexit vote. The meeting comes a week after the European Central Bank cut its growth forecast for the euro area. Sizing political and trade risks joining us now from the Belgian capital Bloomberg's Maria today. Oh maria. How concerned are European governments about the prospect of a no deal Brexit? I mean, there are only days to go eighteen to be specific until Brexit day. Right. Ten days. And I think in a meeting like today, clearly, there's the top of the agenda. But whatever will really cares about is Brexit and most crucially, whether you have your contingency plans ready for don't deal now for many weeks and months, we do the European officials actually believe there would be some kind of deal that the UK would not be prepared to go and kind of just put those plans to kind of on the back burner. So I think right now there is almost a real concern is everyone ready if every European country. Have we done our homework, and that's kind of like that. And you know, those trips that measure body is doing to many European capitals. Just to make sure that you get that situation. Two weeks. The ready. Our impression is ever. What is very behind? Not. The EPA. You're you're back in Belgium now. How many countries were you in last week? How many contracts more? Yeah. Many many countries Germany. We learn Germany, you're in Belgium. Did you go to the Nordic region at all? The Swedish want. Yeah. Tony another big. They may need to worry about is no deal planning. Yeah. Well, that will be fascinating. If we get a chance to see that terribly unlikely as it is. But the situation is fluid obviously ahead of tomorrow's vote. What's the view from Brussels? Everyone got their popcorn ready to go tuned into Bloomberg television. Yeah. I think today there is a real expectation as to whether prime minister may we'll fly and to the capital bike is the idea was that there would be some kind of concession given the cages ready in time for the vote but match, you know, that's right. It was bad day between the EU out confessions, which the UK said we had already agreed privately that those were not his ashes why? And you know, these rate doesn't go far enough. And then the just probably sad. Well, we're going to put them out anyways because they concern here is that the charter spend us in a way that makes it easy look back. And that's something that they don't wanna do. They don't want to give out the concessions at the score. The exit to the backstop this done in a unilateral way. But at the same time doesn't want to take the blame for this. If there's no deal in the end. Maria, some will probably point out that what usually happens in European negotiations. Is that at the very last minute. Something comes out of them. Are we looking at kind of a situation or is there a potential for that? Well, I would I would say as last week. We were told choreography wealthy the attorney general Jeff into Brussels. He would get some kind of concession to me and the cater ready try to sell it hard. And then put it to you. But the reality is Jeffrey Cox did not get their confessions and prime minister May Day to go before the vote has nothing to sell, and I think really absolute deadline now in Brussels is next week. When you get that council meeting at that point there is again, a real concern. You may always accidentally fall into that. No deal over I think the other big question Mark is back late. Whether she's gonna probably have to pull this week or decide we need to extend it the kids were just not ready. I think they are more likely, but again that choreography hasn't played out. All right. We're going to hear a lot more Maria today certainly over the next twenty four to forty eight hours. Are roaming reporter in Brussels with the latest on Brexit. The next the stories you need to start your morning. We'll take a closer look at today's daybreak newsletter with editor Richard MacAuley. This is Bloomberg. This is a Bloomberg market minute. We'll see whether Wall Street can get back on track after its worst week. So far this year. "Indeed for joining us on monocle twenty four and John Everard will be staying with us for the next ice because we had to North Korea. Next, you're listening to molecule twenty four. Time here in London is twenty to thirteen, and this is the monocle daily live from studio one at Madari house progress, good progress that was made this weekend between the US and North Korea. Well, that's the claim, at least by the US extra state. Mike Pompeo. He in the North Korean leader, Kim Jong UN Matin Pyongyang this weekend. What developments were indeed made is anyone's guess. But North Korea is certainly basking in the glow of the United States. Praise will still with me, as I said, is John ever the UK's former ambassador Pyongyang who I suspect following things whiteclay see this weekend. What do we think happened? Well, hey, if only I could also questions like that, you'll quite right. We don't know about what happened sector poem pale in his press conference really didn't give a whole lot away, but he did say that the the denuclearization was central. They were talking about in decribes ation acquired a strong statement without. Surprise a few observers. The other thing that emerged not from his remarks when those of big on these special Representative on North Korea was that there are now plans for sort of lower level working groups to thrash through these issues impropriety in for the second Donald Trump, Kim Jong on summit. And it turns out that begins opposite number is the redoubtable tastes away. One was terrified. Women I've ever met who nevertheless articulates the North Korean position with with great eloquence and is probably a good interlocutor. It may be more about who this woman is. He said, terrifying and why he is terrifying washy tariff, but we'll who she is. She's a senior member of the North Korean foreign ministry in thought would face. He's also a much more senior member of the Korean Workers Party. And how's the the confidence of kimberlin personally, why she terrifying an almost entirely smile. Fees zone, speak stridently at great length interprets keep. Hound sort of Russia's will tapper neater asked us to stop talking so they could. They can interpret a tremendous memory. Tremendous intellect remembers all the ins and outs reprieve negotiations. And if the United States has seeded something in a previous negotiation on his trying to claw back in the second one chasing away will point this out immediately and and slapped their wrists quite a middle. Where does that leave the United States? If they are dealing with characters, this strong, what chance? The US. The carts is on the US auto also fairly strong. I mean, Mike Pompeo is. People who'd been in the room with him. Tell me that he is ready a very strong and is Nobody's Fool, what? What does it leave the US I to answer that question, you would need to know exactly what Kim Delman is now proposing on one of the agonists that everybody is confronted with. Is that even now Tober in a process the stars? No, I January with kindle moves famous speech. We still don't know whether this really is the big break where the Kinderman has decided to strategically that he has to change direction all whether this just another North Korean leader, trying to extract money unpolitical sessions from the United States, and you've got to make some kind of judgement as to what is going on, but the dangers of making their own jump on quite frightening. Losses value judgments made by the western press, at least have been quite cynical in the last couple of hours given the fact that one of the things that Mike Pompeo triumphantly told reporters about was the North Koreans have allowed have agreed to lessen to national inspectors, visitors attest site. Well, the last the previous six nuclear tests were conducted a site which by all accounts is is being dismantled. And people have said he selling the same horses twice in we are Kim Jong on his sending us the same horses twice a mere buying. So basically we knew that these these sites were closed. So why bother boasting about showing us to sharing them? Yes..
