Where your children would go to school and learn how to read and write, and be told that race doesn't mean a damn thing. I couldn't care less what color any of you students are, so it's not going to even be discussed.

The collision and crash of this drone is created another tense situation between the U.S. and Russia. I just got off the phone with my Russian counterpart, minister shoyu. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. He didn't go into the details of their conversation, but he inferred that he made some things clear. One of which was in the United States will continue to fly and to operate wherever international law allows. In terms of what actually happened, joint chiefs chairman general Mark milley picked it up from there. We know that the aggressive behavior was intentional. We also know it was very unprofessional, very unsafe. But the actual contact between the planes. Not sure yet, that remains to be seen. And there is video to help with that. JJ green, WTO V news. And you saw the way that things were moving in the right direction in so many respects with my father in law. We had peace agreement signed in the Middle East. He had two meetings to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula with Kim Jong-un. He had trade deals signed with China of all places. So it was a much different situation not too long ago. And I think we all know the situation between Russia and Ukraine would have never happened had Donald Trump been in The White House for a number of different reasons. But it is frightening because you see how quickly things can go downhill and how quickly they can go in the wrong direction and after having that balloon to traverse the entire country a couple of weeks ago, I think Americans say, are we really safe? Is our government looking out for us? Are they doing the right things? You look at the southern border. You look at the balloon and people say, gosh, I don't think they are. "Of the hour. Got global news from blue magnesium and that dog South Korea saying that its military will strengthen security cooperation with the United States and Japan, right? That's absolutely correct or a shot, and this is going to include the deployment of U.S. strategic assets. It's a reaction to North Korea firing two ballistic missiles on Sunday. Today, U.S. National Security Council spokesman John Kirby told ABC's this week, the U.S. remains ready for talks with North Korea on denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula. We are willing to sit down with them without preconditions. At the negotiating table to work towards that end without preconditions. Mister Kim Jong-un has decided not to take us up on that offer and quite quite the opposite now. He is trying to improve his ballistic missile program. He's clearly not abandoned his nuclear weapons ambitions. Now Kirby went on to say while the offer to negotiate is on the table, the U.S. must make sure that it has the capabilities to honor treaty commitments in the region. President Biden has been explicit in vowing to commit U.S. forces in the event of a Chinese attack on Taiwan. We are told, contingency planning for a potential assault on Taiwan has been stepped up after Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Now the scenarios attached heightened strategic significance to the islands cutting edge computer chip technology led by TSMC in the worst case sources telling us the U.S. would consider evacuating Taiwan's highly skilled chip engineers. Russian president Putin is accusing Ukraine of an attack on a key bridge linking Crimea to the Russian mainland. Putin is blaming Ukraine's secret services for the explosion. Let's get back to our guest for the half hour mark Franklin as managing director and senior portfolio manager at Manu life and democracy. I wanted to talk about energy prices. We did, of course, get the news. As expected, OPEC plus cutting supply by 2 million barrels per day, but coupled with that, we do have the strong dollar that we mentioned where we left off. So what are the implications here for emerging market economies? You have to spit the emerging market economies into those that are net produces an export of energy and those that are net importers of energy. Those that are net exporters will actually be quite comforted by the decision that OPEC plus took yesterday. And an increasingly tight physical market, whereas those emerging markets that are energy importers will concern themselves with what this means for a next round of inflation pressures should oil prices continue to rise in the near term. There's a bit more pressure on countries like Japan as well. I mean, ultimately, they have a release valve for that pressure via the currency. And they continue to adopt what appears to be a very, very loose monetary policy with their yield curve control. So the extent to which this drives further weakening of the yen against other cross currencies at a pace of their uncomfortable with in May force them to intervene more aggressively. The air cross the supply cuts, just going to stoke energy price inflation as well. We do have inflation all over the place right now. What is going to happen first? Do we get inflation under control or is there going to be a global recession? I think we have to define what under control means. I mean, ultimately, Central Bank inflation targets if you take the U.S., is a reversion towards a 2% inflation rate on the core PCE measure. It's going to take some time to get there. If you look at previous inflationary cycles, it takes several quarters rather than several months to get there. And that perhaps creates a sufficiently wide window for growth dynamics to come under increasing pressure. Now you've been playing a defense in your portfolio. What does that mean exactly? Do you look at havens? Do you look at bonds? How do you catch allocation right now? Yeah, cash allocations are relatively high, and we've had to accept that when you see central banks so aggressively withdrawal liquidity from financial markets. It affects all asset classes, not just those risk assets, but also those more defensive assets traditionally. And we've seen this year traditionally defensive assets such as fixed income have not proven defensive. So we've had to appraise the macro environment and we talked about an environment which is increasingly stagflationary. So which types of asset classes perform resiliently in an inflationary environment and energy is one example there. Not all commodities necessarily because, as you mentioned earlier, the U.S. dollar can pose somewhat of a headwind to other commodity asset classes. Yeah, it's been a while since we've heard somebody use the term stagflation here. You have serious concerns about global growth at the moment.
