Keith Getty Describes New Album 'Confessio,' a Love Letter to His Irish Heritage

"Book. But we're here to talk about your album. Tell us my friend. Confessio, this goes back to Irish American route. So you're in Nashville now, but you're from Ireland, and your wife is from Ireland. And talk and talk about the album, confessio, brand new album. Will you kindly interview us before sing global last year? We started the family him saying and did sing global all last year through the pandemic. And then we were honestly our heads were just fried. And so we went home for a year. So 7 days after 7 days after sing global, we flew home, 9 11. It's an easy day to remember, getting in a plane. On 9 11, we flew back to Ireland, and we stayed in Ireland for the whole year. Like John Lennox and C. S. Lewis and Allison McGrath and many other people who you know, we come from that tiny little north coast of Ireland and we spent the year there. And this album really is a love letter to that. You know, we, you know, we come from this place that Christianity is 17th centuries old that until the 1980s gave more missionaries per capita than any country in the world. South Korea and I give the most. And but also, but also this connection as you brought our four daughters who are all American citizens. He brought them back. We're all born in America. As he brought them back to their heritage and explained to them, here's been kind of donegal or John Newton's boat came in and he wrote, begun to write amazing grace. Here's here's where beat on my vision was written. And here's our culture and we began to realize that even as musicians that everything from country music to bluegrass to gospel songs to ship note hem the day to American and Appalachian music are all outgrowths of our own scotch Irish tradition that we have. And so this album was just really, I think it's a love letter to our

The Committee to Unleash Prosperity's Phil Kerpen on the Inhumanity of America's Child Masking Policies

"Welcome back to one on one with the cofounder of the committee to unleash prosperity, Phil cur pin. Phil, you've been very, very charitable to the interpretations of certain so called health policies coming out of the federal government. Does the charitable interpretation is it plausible? Can it be extended over every aspect and I'll focus on one right now? So maybe herd immunity was they want to encourage people not to protect themselves what have you. But when it comes to children, I find it very difficult to see a charitable interpretation for anything we've seen. You've mentioned it yourself. The incredibly low figures. Of children who aren't sick with something else, the conclusion is if you look at the statistics, they're basically immune. They don't catch it or if they do, they don't even realize it, and they get over it. So kids are not vulnerable. Instead, they have to wear masks everywhere on planes in schools. I walk past this little pre-K every morning. Drives me insane. The kids are outside in the sandpit playing with bloody marks on its child abuse. And now we have the. Well, we've got the new vaccines and you can do it to 5 year olds next. This is science denial. They say conservatives in our science. But if they're basically immune, then why are we asking why are we vaccinating? Is there thusly is there a charitable interpretation for what the CDC will walensky what Fauci? What school administrators are doing? I don't really have a charitable interpretation on that. I think it's been outrageous. Look, I mean, you know, it's not zero risk for children, nothing in this world is, but it is normal. Children, it is no dangerous for children than any other respiratory virus. And so if we are going to subject children to this disruption to all of these interventions, then logically they would be permanent. There's no luck. There's no logical endpoint because they were never at any more than normal risk. And we've been much worse than this regard than the vast majority of the world. There are some other countries that mask down to age 6, which I think is outrageous. Countries like France and Italy and Spain go down to age 6. "People. Let me share a story that I think I've mentioned on the show, but just to illustrate what mark's talking about, how I knew it was all garbage. I was in the oval. It was just the president and I very early on in the administration. I was there on a purely national security issue. I believe it was to do with North Korea at the time if I remember well in the missile launches. And we're in the conversation. It stops. I'm waiting for the president to make a decision on something. Room goes quiet. And then out of nowhere, I think it was the day I think the reason it triggered him, I think it was the day that his son in law did oppress a shower, a little spray outside the west wing on the Russia accusations. Right. And so I think that must have triggered the president and out of nowhere, he says to me, he says they won't find anything. Now he's angry that they won't find anything because there is nothing. And he was so angry because he knew the whole thing was a fabrication Mark. Well, listen, I talk about this in a book, I've got coming out. He called me when I was a member of Congress. He said, he said, Mark, your wife has had more interactions with Russia than I have. I promise you that. There is nothing to be found. He says, go out there and fight. I still remember where I was who was seated at that particular time. He was on a trip abroad. And when you look at this, you start to see that the swamp continues to fight back even today. Even last week, trying to fight back going after president Trump and those that they never stop do that. No, they never stop. Why? Because they're threatened by him. And all he stands for, and it's not his power. It's the power of the people that are tuned in right now, the American

"First s. e. u. tech trade summit starts today secretary of state antony blinken commerce secretary gina raimondo and us trade representative. Dan michaels says some issues. Maybe thornier than others. It gets a lot more complicated when you get into specific regulations and how each side overseas these things so for example the eu is much stricter about a personal data than the us. The us has more government surveillance microchips or another area. There's a desire to cooperate because the past year or so has shown how reliant both the. us and europe are on both china but also friendlier places like taiwan and south korea. And there's a desire to develop some independence but what that actually means isn't so clear because us wants the us to be strong. Don't respect their opinions. They're stupid Like even like this was one of the albums that had crossover appeal and appeal to the most on court hip hop fans and the masses. As night this was the album that satisfied everybody and This album is super heavy. deals with super conscious stuff as well but there are lots of mo of love songs in as well and they're really well constructed and creative when it comes to doing it. This is a song about unrequited love. And it's very poetic like it has a very Electronic but psychedelic in a way kind of beat their vo as immaculate the hook sticks on it to wrap hook but it's not quite like filled with vocals. so that is why. This was selling everywhere. It was every ronin radio in any room. Everyone's moving into the underground. Like this is a quintessential album that kind of every hypothesis nose and fan. "But what they don't have is a safe public transportation system but they don't have is Roads where it's not traffic logged from. You know eight o'clock in the morning to eight. Pm at night So i'll give you an example. Is that in two thousand and five korea's e commerce Revenue Exceeded traditional retail revenue in two thousand five. Yeah so the reason for that is because you know in korea we have broadband like everywhere and you know technology and stuff like that is awesome but for logistics careers like the size of like like rhode island south korea's like it's it's tiny right and how people would deliver one day packages that they would get like the auto by we say like a part timers high school part timers and they would go and they would pick up like a literally a huge box like this of ten items and then we go on the subway station in seoul right and then they would literally go on office of waste system and they deliver the packages right because korea is small but super organized and stuff like that right but the funny thing is like i remember when i was university student and also taking the subway and stuff like that i would see. These kids passed out in the subway with a box of electronic goods just sitting at their feet and no one would steal it. You know 'cause it's safe. You know. But like if you're in the philippines or indonesia and you're delivering a cell phone. Which is you know three times your salary right like are you gonna take it or take it number. One number two is that you know how much packages can you put on a motorcycle. Because if you're using a truck you're going to be stuck in traffic for three hours to go five miles because that's the way the infrastructure is and so you know you look at You take it for granted but having roads having saved public transportation having safety in other example is Again philippines where an atm machine has to be inside a store. Because if it's not some guy is going to basically pick it up and and take it. You know if you have an atm in the store. You're also getting new security guard with a shotgun.

"I spoke with one woman, and her name was E nudity. And she's twenty seven years old, and here's what she had to say about the Trump Kim relationship. I mean I'd like to be like, Optimus took about an it's a good thing that lake North Korea's like opening up to America. But I do find it like funny. Why's it funny because it is kind of, like cave drama. They use. Hate other, and now the can love. What is a k dramas that like a soap operas? Yeah, I k- drama stands for Korean drama. And they're typically soap operas where, you know, people have these like unrec it'd romances and they fall in love at the end. It's kind of formulaic part of Korean culture. Okay. So how important is this moment for moon? Jae in setting up the summit now in the future. I mean it sounds like there might be a little liability for him. Absolutely much of moons big dreams, for the, to Korea really hinges on, whether or not he can convince Trump ever so slightly to stray from his hardline policies against North Korea without a partial lifting of sanctions, or some kind of other cooperation between the United States and North Korea South Korean president moon can't really move forward with any of his projects like building a train between north and South Korea or opening up inter-korean factories that could also help South Korean economy. So, you know, at the very least moon needs to convince the US North Korea to work toward signing a peace treaty really soon. And if he doesn't he runs the risk of being seen as a sitting duck..
