"It is cloudy and 68. Kogo news time is 5 51. It is time for sports Extra 13 60. Steve Gorman. Hello. Hey, guys. Hello. Do we really want to talk anymore? Trevor Bauer around here. It's always I mean, people always have an opinion. Yes, they always have an opinion, right? And it's and it's just such a weird story. I mean, it's bizarre. Okay, The question is, Can you give consent? When you're unconscious? The answer would be no right. That's all we need to know right there. A little update on the Trevor Bauer situation, which, by this time, I'm sure if you have any interest, you know all the sordid details. Here's a little update for you, Dave Roberts, the manager of the Dodgers, says. Trevor is going to be a having his next start. It'll be starting this weekend as he normally does. We're not doing anything with Trevor Bauer. Actually, Baseball hasn't taken any action against them. Guess they're not worried about it. PR nightmare As you know, the Dodgers are scheduled to go to the White House as World Series champions. Trevor Bow wasn't on the team last year, so I'm not sure whether he's invited to the White House and part of the contingent of players is to celebrate last year's championship. He's with the Reds last year. So let's just stay tuned. Let's That's the best we can say right now. As far as the Trevor Bauer situation, we did get some great news yesterday for the first time since 1998. Hey, Padre has been voted to the starting lineup of the All Star team. Really? Fernando Totti's Jr not only voted the ulcer starter, he got the most votes of anybody. So this is the first of many, many many All Star games over the course of his career. Unfortunately, last night, the Padres lost And it was ironic because the first two games against the Reds were games They probably should have lost and they won last night was a game. They should have won and they lost out. So I guess the whole payback. They will head to Philadelphia for the weekend series, and we're getting very close to the All Star break. Another thing That's a little interesting story, guys. Reggie Bush. Of course, grew up here in San Diego went on to USC won the Heisman Trophy. And then there was all this controversy. And I never understood why he was held accountable for this, but his father stepfather made a deal with some kind of agent to purchase a house. Along with Reggie's mother while he was a U. S. C. And this is a complete violation of the N C A. A to this day. I doubt that Reggie really had any knowledge of it other than he's curious, Like, you know, got a house Don't worry about. I took care of him. This was his, uh, stepfather did this well, they dropped the hammer on Reggie Bush and Banned him from the university for 10 years. Like all his records were raised, he had to return his Heisman Trophy. All of this was done, but that 10 year run ended last year. So, for instance, this year, he appears on the ballot for the College Football Hall of Fame. He wants his Heisman Trophy back. I don't blame him. He's like and I've talked to some Heisman Trophy winners. I don't know if you've seen the commercials where the high basement house Yes, it's sort of a deal, and I said to one of these heists, Winters, I go. So if Reggie Bush came to the Heisman House and banged on the door, would you let him in? And in their opinion, he's always one of us. So if you have a whole Heisman Trophy winners should he be back in the club? It's unanimous. They say Yes. So interesting storylines today again Padres in Philadelphia getting ready to take on the Phillies guys. All right, Steve Hartman Extra 13 60. Always a pleasure to have a great show you two guys Time now, for news about your money with Sully brought to you by bail arm. If your security is not the best, you are not secure. Hey there, Sully. Hey, guys. Markets looking really good this morning. I have another bit of breaking news that really busy week this week and breaking here on news radio 600 kogo the numbers the U. S. Has created 850,000 new jobs in June as the economy perked up, and companies rushed to add more workers. This increase in hiring easily exceeded most economists estimate estimates, which they thought would be about 700,000. Most of new jobs are clustered in service are native jobs like restaurants, hotels. That's the hospitality industry. Once again, 24% of our workforce here in San Diego is in that industry. That's really great news for places like San Diego. The unemployment rate rose slightly to 5.9% from 5.8%. So the official rate sort of underestimates the true employment by two or 3% points. But the size of the labor force is the best appointing the reason the unemployment rate rose. With all those jobs. People are quitting the great Resignation is happening. I talked about that a couple of couple of days ago. So the paradox of the economy recovering, uh, is that the unemployment is still quite high, despite the record number, job openings, So a lot of folks are reluctant to work because those generous unemployment benefits and on that subject, some 26 states are going to stop giving out extra federal benefits of up to $300 a week so I'll give you the latest on this as we as we walked through the morning here, but right now, as we set to open up here in about 24 minutes, Dow Jones up 87 points 6 34,001 S and P at a new record up 12 points. 43 23 the NASDAQ in Record territory as well up 77 at 6 14,025. So looks like the markets are liking this job number, guys. And I'll tell you everything else. You need to come up here at 6 25. All right. Thank you, Sully. Okay, guys..

Pelosi and Schumer call for Trump's removal from office

"Well for the first time since the protests took over the U. S. Capitol yesterday, President Trump has released a video and he is conceding in the election. Saying they'll be a peaceful transfer of power. We must get on with the business of America. My campaign vigorously pursued every legal avenue to contest the election results. My only goal was to ensure the integrity of the vote In so doing, I was fighting to defend American democracy. It comes as many members of Congress, including Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and three members of Congress and San Diego are calling for the president to be removed from office, either with the 25th amendment or through impeachment, Congressman Mike 11. Praising Vice President Mike Pence for carrying out his constitutional duty and counting the electoral college votes late last night. And now he wants the vice president to invoke the 25th amendment to remove President Trump from office. I do think that there is a great danger being presented by this president at the present time if he is not seen as capable of even having a social media account. Without getting up violence. I don't think he should be responsible for the nation's nuclear codes or have access to the nuclear codes and things of that nature. 11 is joined by Scott Peters and calling for the 25th amendments and Sarah Jacobs as well, who's calling for impeachment or the 25th amendments to be used as the president continues for the next 13 days in office. He continued by saying, if that option doesn't work than impeachment is also on the table. Adding, even though Trump will leave office soon. It is important that those responsible for the riots are held accountable as they took an oath to protect the constitution, not stopping there. Congresswoman Jacob says Law enforcement also needs to be held accountable for what happened at the capital. We need an investigation into how it was how it happened, how protesters were allowed into the Capitol complex and into the building. And why there was such a difference in response from the peaceful protests over the summer to what we saw in terms of security yesterday, Jacobs knows there's a lot of work to do to heal the division. But she's confident she can be a part of a new generation of national leaders. Zachary Barnes Kogo news
