"Yes, okay, take that player, right? Contracts matter. Yep. Kobe white has an expiring deal. Taylor Horton Tucker has a player option for $11 million next season. If the Lakers are concerned about cap space for 2023, they want as much cap space as they can get. There's more future flexibility with Kobe white and that may be all that matters. It may just be, well, Kobe white is a slightly better fit, we think. And he doesn't have a player option after this. So we can see how he does, and if it doesn't work, that's that much more cap space. We definitely have, whereas THT could pick up a player option, and that's $11 million that we don't have to play with in free agency next year. So I think if that's on the table, the Lakers will do it with the contract piece added into this. I think that matters in this situation. I will say that I feel bad for THC 'cause we've been throwing him in hypothetical trades, not for like two seasons. I feel like this one's a little bit nicer because we get to send him home in this scenario. Again, I don't hate it and I don't love it. Man, what a pickup he is for them. And an example of just how it's so funny 'cause like warrior strands, there's always this all they're trying to build something at the same time they're trying to win a championship, but it's so important to hit on a young guy or two, even when you're trying to build a championship team, but playoff contender, et cetera like he's huge for them, man. Yeah, and it's weird. He's older than Kobe white and both of them are shooting over 40% by the three point line. Just an awesome team. Given the fact that they've been the worst team literally in the NBA since Jimmy Butler was traded. This is really fun for their fans and shout out to everyone who was right about demar Derozan. Signing with them, you and I were on the right side of history there. Okay, so this is where it gets a very interesting the top 6 so absurd. We need yeah. They definitely need a little bit more depth depth in the big man. How could they get Jeremy grant? That'd be a good question. Well, they were talking about him or Harrison Barnes, and then they would package, you know, gosh, what was that package then for the bulls? Jones, who would you like better for them? Out of those two guys. Honestly, I don't have a problem with either. I just don't think they add up to what we need all the way. It would just be quick fixes, which again, I know Kobe might have some value and I love the story too, but I think we got some steam and we need to go full steam ahead before we blow this up and just know what we're doing this year. I hear you. Yeah, we talk about this last time, I think, right. You thought that Jeremy grant would be the better fit, right? Yeah, I think Jeremy grant would be a great fit there. I mean, he brings that defensive versatility that you want for that team. And that team, you know, I mean, they're great on offense. They have some great defensive players, but they're not really a great defensive team right now. Their defense doesn't match up to their offense. And they need some depth as well, but they're scary. Like no team wants to play them. I'll tell you that Jones in the playoffs, no team wants to play them. Right. But that said, the assets are not like, I don't know how many assets they might have, the package they could get something really great back. Especially with the Memphis because they're not going to do anything to mess up chemistry unless it's something that really makes sense for them. Yeah. That's just a pipe dream of mine. But the reason I don't think Jeremy grant's coming is we have a lot of guys around that height that range, and we might need someone a little bit more solidified out of 6 ten and even if Clark's not, he plays big. Like we need someone that can play big above the room. It's coming back. It was a couple months last time I checked it was supposed to be out for season, but I heard there's some new updates or something, but I haven't checked recently. I feel like he'll be out for a while. Yeah, I can check that while we're talking. But I don't know how much you'd expect from him at this point. We're missing all the time and having to he was on its way toward building to something, but we hadn't seen it yet. So if the best didn't believe in him, it could make sense for them, right? Chicago Bulls Sign Alex Caruso to 4-Year, $37 Million Deal
"Awoke with more information. Now a different point guard coming back to the Chicago Bulls for Asian Guard Alex Caruso has agreed to a four year $37 million deal with the Chicago Bulls. His agent, Greg Lawrence. Wasserman tells ESPN so Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso are back together again on the same team. They played together for the Lakers. That's the best defensive team in the NBA right now, and they compete. They compete. And so if you can, I know they're not that good, but If they can, if they can score against New York and Play defense against New York as well, Those air that's kind of where I put them right there Right now. They're this young team. They probably won't make the playoffs. But at least they do something well, like the Knicks, at least play defense, and they're in every single game, whereas or they come back and they fight because you know Fido. He's never letting these guys quit these guys. The Knicks have come back. From, you know 30 20 point deficits this year already in the Bulls. They had the 30 point deficits of the Lakers. They cut it the 14 yesterday they were down. They cut it to like seven at one point like it's not. They're fighting. But there's not that fight like you mentioned the other night. There's not that fight at the beginning of the game that you want to see, at least with the Knicks. They come back because you know that that defense is gonna is going to get them back into games. And I think that this team needs to figure out how to play some defense or You're gonna get some players in here. They need to play defense, and some of these players are gonna be out. Well, that's also where I look at this roster. And as a bulls fan, When do you feel most confident with this group? And it's win all reporters on the floor. It's when you have a temple on the floors. If you want to compete and actually make the playoffs this year, you need to be beating the Knicks in the Magic because you have to in order to get to the playoffs. Is that Zack has shown up And when your point guard doesn't show up, or your point guard isn't developing, and he's getting worse. And like you just said against later. I've watched every bulls game and and the people listen to the show. No, I'm a huge bulls fan and I have enjoyed this season because they have shown you that they're going to compete. And after the first three games of the year when they didn't come, be compete. Most games have been competitive. Even that West Coast trip they started with a huge win in Portland. Okay, then they didn't add finish in Sacramento. They did not finish against both away teams. But they were still fun to watch and the way Waddle and I have always monitored the situation. Is not necessarily with the wins and losses and they maybe at one time, eight and nine or seven and eight, and they're creeping towards 500. But it's the growth. We want to see the growth. We want to see the difference in coaching and It's a big year on finding out who are the true core pieces. Can Kobe White b a point card or is he more of a combo? Six man guy? Can Lowry market and re establish that he's a true core piece and let me start with those two? Because in these last two games, and this is where I'm I'm sort of perplexed about the future where they've been Morfogen Tow watch. In fact, Levin's been really, really good. But what do they have in? Especially those two guys, and I think these air to really important guys into a lot of the things they want to do. Kobe White has got to distribute a little bit better.
