Bella bella tech brady isabella tech. Is it brady if ballot check or is it brady. Somebody tell me who it is. Whatever we have these conversations about dynamic duos across any sport but question is only answered. The question is only silence. If one of the singular parts goes on to answer the question in solidarity by that kobe and could kobe when it without shaq shaq. When without kobe shack left he won one. Oh six the heat. Kobe on his own lay great. Kobe bryant rested stole. He wanted without jordan. And phil jackson jordan and phil jackson is a jordan peele. And if they'll they'll leaves. He goes to the lakers jordan. He retires. I'm not gonna talk about jordan. Thirty nine and forty on the wizards but toward lee phil jackson lease and he wins. Another one okay. Those questions were answered. Those questions were silence tom. Brady bill belichick. Tom brady leaves. He left the greatest of all time. I can't do the math but it ain't coach. What i'm saying is his reputation. It will take a hit in the short term. It's not going to deduct the rings he's one is not going to deduct the championships. He's been to duck the coach of the year titles that he has accomplished but in the short term interim his reputation. Sir it's taken a hit. Aren't you a bishop son. And you straying away from these sunday morning here right now you even not far elliott taking you away from your brother. Pray for you okay. Let's talk about this. You wanna use examples basketball. Let's have some fun with this issue. You wanna bring up shaq and kobe. Some fun with shaq and kobe recipes. Koby shock win before he got with kobe. No he didn't okay so they get together. They went three rows lieutnant in. Everybody wants to change the conversation. Who was the real driver of. That engine was it. Kobe was shag even though shack one three finals. Mvp should have been checked but there was a conversation because of the rift who was more important for the franchise more important for the team right. Then people like you. And i don't you start looking in the moment loser perspective because people like you swayed and says shackled was the reason check is the greater player. Because what do right after. He left kobe. He went in one. Arranged dwayne wade so when he what is rink he sitting there laughing four and all the jokes and all the freestyle raps and everything. Kobe stuck at three eight around. Stow rack jackson my favorite rapper. That ever played any sport is not even a conversation anyway. So.

"But facts. But a couple more. Let me spend a couple more of all the impressive things that my light-skinned brother just said about. Your brother. The most impressive thing to me this steph curry has ever done it. Say You know what? I can ride shotgun steph curry in his prime two time. MVP K. decent. Joined the squad and Steph, he slept his ego aside status ego aside and you said, you know what? For the greater good of the team I ride shotgun let's not understate how big deal that is in any sport KP and Russ. It can get along late great Kobe Shack. They couldn't get along you look at a bunch of teams with a bunch of players a bunch of superstars even Lebron and Kyrie end up they can get along see when we talk about Steph and all these things that he got. He didn't get him by chance at being a great basketball player isn't just about putting the basket putting the ball in the hoop being a great basketball players also about. The team to victory. When we talk about Steph curry the part we sleep on the most is that a player, the best shooter in the NBA history and his prime said, you know what? For the sake of the team for the sake of these chips I'm GonNa go ahead and let K D do thing let Katie some MVP's I already got mine I'm good. So when we respect Steph and everything He did on the court as far as with the basketball we also got to respect what he did three really and being like you know what everybody else to say I'm a ride shotgun even though I can't drive this thing and drive it myself to a ship's yeah look I don't want to minimize how much being disrespected, but I also don't want to exaggerate how great he is or not only. Somebody just said that Steph Curry is ranked thirteenth all time in the NBA. Experts..

"And then over the next couple of years is Kobe developed. They were obviously a one two punch. You knew could be very good like he was going to Hollywood car doors but they spent a few years not quite white being able to get over the hump so Kobe and Shaq as you said can't get over the Hump in those first few years that they're playing together and then in nineteen ninety nine nine. They bring in Phil Jackson head coach. And it's just this perfect storm of talent you know we think. Now of this era of big. Three's and you need three great stars. There's this was truly a big two three times and really. The third guy in this mix was Phil Jackson and it worked because the talent of those two guys of an ascending Kobe Bryant and still young Shaquille O'Neal you took Phil Jackson to manage those personalities to mind the conflict between the two in a way that could kind of be good to hold it together but also drive them. We lost one game out of our last twenty six in the course. Let me know that they know how to do it together. This is bending there will bending their ego to do together so that you Kobe Shack and fill team to win three straight titles the three p. but throughout that Kobe was a lot of ways still playing in shack shadow shack. Was this larger than life figure in every sense of the word the finals. MVP and all three of their championships and Kobean shack definitely had beef their personalities were incredibly different shack. Was this as you said larger than life not just presence but personality and he loved the spotlight and being front and center as an entertainer entertainer as great as shack was by his own admission. He didn't work as hard as he could. Have you know people say you should work harder. But then I I I assume how do you know what are you know. Did I work hard and practice. Never he didn't keep himself as in shape As he could have and coby was methodical and borderline psychotic about the way that he worked about the way hey that he kept himself in shape his film study. He was incredibly intense in his approach to basketball. He treated it like a craft. An art those are two personalities that can be very difficult to keep on the same page and in those eight years despite those personality personality clashes. We saw you know as we said three championships. Emerson just really incredible basketball being played Can you just describe scribe what Kobe was like on the court especially in those earlier years. What's funny is like you know our our our? Most recent members are lasting memories of Kobe. Were of kind of guy with a lot of ways the old man at the Ymca type game you know a lot love. Your post up moves where he backs player down and takes turnaround jump shot. Yeah that's sort of famous fadeaway Michael Jordan jumper now the dig into all the other side of the data coby fall away seventy third. That's good is shutdown affection or a lot of three pointers.

"On CBS sports radio. Are you doing as far as time caller first time listener, I'm going to keep it real with you? But as far as I was living through talking about may to keep a real is a business. We all get hyped about somebody coming to the Lakers come into the Lakers. But at the end of the day, like, the, the one due to the one, I turned down a hundred two hundred million will it not about the money on his endorsements and all the money that he makes over the contracts. I'm pretty sure he got way more than that. It's about legacy and everybody don't want to play with about. It's like how we had Kobe man. We have the best team Kobe shack. I'm gonna just keeping real but we have role players, why going to spend all that money man, if come he come, that's cool. That's fine and dandy. That's no problem. But with all this over only Naji ingenious will measure what you're doing you playing both sides of the fence. So I'm gonna keep it real LA baby. I'm a Laker fan if he comes we will have the I feel like that he. Come, we'll have the best team. The NBA ever seen even better than Golden State. Have you? Open up at up in the air, whether it would be better than again. I think people have to stop discounting, because of the star power wear, Golden State, Golden State. If you were to go back in time. Two thousand sixteen. I actually have a twenty three is greater than seventy three on shirt today to twenty sixteen. When in the bronze on wearing Twenty-three anymore, but next season, it'd be wearing six six six six the real six got his back. But you go back to that ear and, and put on a random sports talk show. I promise you, one of the questions around April or may was are the warriors the greatest team of all time and that was before Durant. Got there. I mean the why was that a question while they had won the title the year before. And then they were in route to winning more games than any team in history. They broke the ninety six bulls record. They won seventy three games. So you took a team that was able to win more games than any team in history was able to win a championship was a minute away from winning back to back championships. And you added Kevin Durant to that team without really taking away anything. He took away Harrison Barnes. It was basically a swap, right? And bogan. That is different. So you can't say that this would be better than that. I think that's that's foolish. I, I think this, if it were to go down was constructed to take that on and, and there may never have been a team that would have anything as strong as LeBron Davison, Leonard by. That's three coups was the fourth and then we'll see what they do with the rest. But that's not the same as a team that was a proven championship team. That was a record breaking team, adding, Kevin Durant. Though, I don't think you'll ever be anything like that again. How about Bernard in Columbia, South Carolina, but you're up next here on CBS sports radio. Hey, good morning, Robin. How you doing? Good. How are you? I'm great. Listen. I'm hoping that Katy ends up in New York because I'm a New Yorker or I used to be, and I'm a die hard knick fan since birth, and it would be a good land spot for them. Problem is I'm wondering if he's going to be same after injury. And I have another question for you. Like if you're any team out there. Do you give them the max or is that an option like is a Mexican teed? Or what I don't know what's going out with the free, he's definitely going to get a max. Yeah. He's going to get a maxi. The reports are out there. The warriors would offer him the fold five-year supermax that they can offer him two hundred something million dollars..

"He did just pushing the pace running the court. There is a moment in the win the blazers took an eight point lead midway through the fourth quarter. Yeah. It was one eight one hundred and we'll get back to that moment, later dream on beats everyone down the court and gets a layup to all of a sudden offset the Meyers, Leonard three and getting the layup of his own. The warriors were great in that third quarter in particular that is where they to me. That's where the wars put themselves in position for in my eyes to win the game. But then the blazers not only weathered the storm they did build an eight point lead with three four and a half minutes left. And that moment for they made one shot for that moment forward. Draymond took over the game. CJ was over five Dame, couldn't do anything. He missed one shot and then got the ball stolen from him as a tough one Dame because Iggy was trying to file because they're up three. They. They wanted to their didn't get the Fallon getting steel despite it. It's tough for me in his this is the biggest game for for any of these players on the blazers ever ever. I guess Rodney hood was played in the finals and the biggest game in the franchise since you remember the Kobe shack lob isn't the biggest game for the blazers fifth seen going into the fourth quarter. This is the biggest gain. The franchise has had since that moment that was the year two thousand you're up eight with four minutes left with a chance to steal the game to steal to steal homecourt. I should say if we're gonna see in these series team Steeler game. I feel like Milwaukee kind of stole one from Toronto. Now, we've had Golden State steal one from Portland. It's tough when the team that's the heavy favorite. The better team is the one that steals a game they should've lost that to me is what happened last night in oracle. But I think a lot of that, like, again, my opinion is that Golden State. We've seen it all year when they get complacent they turn it on when they need to curse complained. About it. He mentioned in his quote. We just saw competitive fire. That's what they brought in, in bunches in, I think, late when they got down a like I don't think Portland just missed the shots. I think it was the deficient intensity that made the most some of 'em CJ at three two that were wide open to C. Jay was CJ didn't have a great night, obviously. And that's one of the things Portland's. Gotta look at going forward, even in the previous series CJ in Lillard, have rarely there together. Thank you for listening to the first things. "Kobe Bryant a two hour drive. Kobe Bryant never ever ever allowed himself to be distracted by the L A thing shack did. And that's why when the Lakers had to make a choice, Shaq and Kobe they chose Kobe shack was too often distracted, you know, there's more choices than ever in this country. The economy's better than ever Healthcare's better than ever. Poverty numbers down hunger down. But yet depression statistics indicate we've never been sadder. And that's because choices for a lot of people create anxiety, and they also create distractions. I don't think it's a coincidence that virtually all the New York teams despite their power and leverage Mets Knicks. Nets jets. Giants are poorly run. There's too many options too much money too many distractions. And I don't think it's a coincidence that LeBron was completely tone deaf. This year, Colin come on. He's always had TV projects. Yes. And you can gamble in a lot of places, but when you move to Las Vegas, it's different. Lebron got caught up in the LA thing. I've seen guys blow their marriage is up guys in their careers. This way LA's got lots of options. It's one of the reasons Kobe Bryant helicoptered in for games. And then helicoptered out. He never got sucked into LA. I was told as LeBron moved here. The first week by a high powered agent, not mine, although mine's good too. But I was told by an agent LeBron or had four billionaires lined up who wanted to do business with them. Lebron's a thirty four year old kid from Akron, Ohio. How do you say no to that? Of course, you don't say no to that. People get sucked into the LA thing shack did. And in the end the Lakers had to make a choice, and they went with the less distracted player. The kid living down in Orange County. Kobe Bryant the Brandon get dumb. Lebron didn't get lazy. Lebron didn't become a bad teammate, those go against everything. I believed to be true. But he did get sucked in. He's got his house right in the middle of agents and eight nine minute drive to meeting the biggest stars around the corner from the guy that runs my former company an exactly where he lives is just too easy to get sucked in and gassed up and distracted. It happens to a lot of people it even happened to LeBron. He didn't suddenly become a bad teammate. He didn't suddenly get terrible on defense. The Bronx looks like this year. He's aged eight years. He looks tired. He doesn't look in great shape. He looks distracted. And he's not the first person to deal with that in Los Angeles. Nice to have in on a Friday. This week has just absolutely flown by. You know, it was interesting. I was LeBron James is now fourth all time in scoring. And I went to the list today of the top ten scores in NBA history. And. It used to be that. If you send your kid to college. It was a very redeemable idea to send him to a liberal arts college where you would know a little bit about everything, but we've sort of moved into a generation of specialization you like got I'm here. Join I you know, when we do our morning meetings. We've got a graphic person. We've got a writer. We've got a producer world confer specialists the world right now is paying a lot of money for specialists. Not just is got a general understanding of the top thirty five books that have ever been written. But it interesting when you look at the top ten all time NBA scoring list. They were all specialists ten for ten and I'll get to that coming up. "All this is not Kobe shack and Kobe and co we had to go back like you already one without Jimmy Johnson. If you wanna go that lane, that's not my lane only twelve of Super Bowl since Jerry Jones won his last one. It's not going around the entire league and lapping him. It's very few teas and one of them half of them one team one coach and one player so respect Jerry Super Bowl me so much in the realm of football world. The guy's attorney guys. I heard Jerry say, look, it's not about billions, not millions billions not about billions anymore. I want another Super Bowl. So for him to say that like to he he's leading guys in locker room know, how urgent he feels like he wants this. This ring is troll through bad saying. Well, you do wanna know, you know, what I mean are they're not saying that, you know, I feel like he's letting those guys know like like you say a little bit of pressure. But pressure sometimes brings out the best of some of those guys. You don't think Jason went been in that locker room is going to inspire somebody some guy on their team. Just do a little bit more really pressure. When it's redundant like, we break every minicam championship three every already out there and try to this is the disparate this different level. Because Jerry stature in the Lee because of the because the Cowboys are still America's team, the number one TV ratings draw and look and Jerry saying, I don't know how much longer I can do this. And and Marcellus I think what you're underestimating is Jiri feels like as a football mind. He is the equal of Jimmy Johnson, not an Xs and os deal. But if he's equal, and he doesn't get that level of credit, and he feels like if he feels like he's built a great team here. Great defense they've done all the right things. And if he can just get one more Super Bowl, he will get his. Full proper credit. You chasing your tail. It's.

"But you know, what he did everything else that gave them that victory in that particular game against the chargers. Allen into this team success is the relationship between the quarterback and their coach which is an unprecedented relationship. We haven't seen it anywhere else. Really in sports, it's longevity. And then how close they are. How successful is Brady? Ballot. Check that tandem to the success of this patriots team. I think it's huge. I think we, you know, we always tend to mean, I fought with my offense of line coach about things all the time during the course of my career. Like that's stupid. I'm not gonna do it. And you know, and then he will yell at me and yell at him. And we'd figure it out of actually. But there's certain things you know, as a receiver. Some coach tells you to do something like eight men on greaseboard. That's awesome. Yeah. Right in a game that don't work and as long as you can give them the reason, it doesn't work. I think most guys are great with that. I call my off. It's a blind coach just the other day. Just tell them a loved it. Let's Let's coach. coach ever play for. And I just want to tell you. I love you. Just like it just dawned on good guy. But it just I haven't talked to him in a long time. I'm talking to a while. I'm just gonna call them tell and I think was awkward when he called me back because he's like for the message. Voicemail. Message of. But I think now as an older person, you appreciate yeah. And I think that Tom Brady because Tom Brady wasn't a star in college. He was not the high draft pick. He was not the choice for the franchise. So in his greatness being developed a lot of that had to do with with with Brady submitting his town believe in Bella check because Brady comes to the game with hellish confidence that they're going to have a defensive scheme. Now, they might not have all the the people to rush the passer two linebackers that you know, about but in the rhythm, they're going to be a slow people down and they will create turnovers for Brady. So I just believe how has town has developed. He has tremendous faith in who Bella check is. And he has a pretty Asian now. Not when he's retired like stink. And I think that that's part of magic that makes that relationship go and the other element is. And we do we talk about this team in this relationship more than any other in the NFL because they. Win the most. And so they're always there usually one of the last two teams, they're always wanna last four teams. So there's more there's more airtime discuss them. But any long term success that I can think of in sports has some type of bond between the star player on the coach like there's one off championships. Like those happen where it was. I don't know how good the coach was right. I don't know if they add the star player, but whether it's the Spurs in the NBA or the bulls in the NBA or the Lakers in the NBA league that has a bunch of dynasties or the patriots in the NFL, really the only dynasty. There's the symbiosis. Like there is Jordan needed to run the triangle and needed to submit something to Phil Jackson. Right. Just like Kobe shack did Dunkin needed Popovich to have that type of run Brady. The reason that we can say oh Aaron Rodgers most talented quarterback we've ever seen. He's been to one Super Bowl. He's never had that symbiosis to work with where when he's not at his best. They can still win and. When he is at his best. They are unbeatable that with the pats and Brady of had along with Bella check, I need you. So that I can move forward..

"You can watch at your pocket you can pretend to be opening presents. But really watching basketball on TD on your phone. It's all good. All right now joining us on jump. I am so so happy eight-time all-star more time defensive player of the year hall of Famer also human decamp bay the Hanks here. And I mean, it exactly I'm honored. I'm so close up of that. Amazing. I mean, it I mean that your career was exceptional. But that basketball is the second thing that you're most good at because the way you have sort of worked your postgame career the humanity in the philanthropy that you have shown. I clearly don't even have enough for how impress am. I mean, it Dc and look you're here in Los Angeles right now because you are with an eight year old boy who you paid and your Dacian to fly out from the Congo. He needed special medical care. You can see in some of these videos, and we'll show some pictures in a minute. There's a growth of tumor right on the side of his face. His face is really blown up on one side. And it's obviously medically a huge problem, and he can only get care for that here in the United States. But also, it's it's that he's had a real hard time with his peers and family and stuff like that. What is it been Mike for him and wanted to bring him out here? This this summer visiting the family and watch see what's wrong with the hospital push about it for doctors asking this nothing. They can do for young men that wasn't a hallway. If there's something that I have to do with the contact America to take the board with. Call. We'll see. And I looked at. My wife and my club, which is the tin from the from vision to work very hard to find the who can help us and the refunder, Dr Osborne. With stuff of twelve. Dr this Brinda board will want to do the. Wow. That's amazing. And you were at the airport to meet him yesterday. This kid who has whole life has been about. This is about to get a whole second lease on life. What is? Bingo, this young man would go back live and go back to school. Where would not be push it where the famine there will become better walk in with Remo on this because welcome from. For one you've ever child. Better thing to do is keeping my home people say different things if you walk out on. So I'm very raw though for foundation. Now, you guys do so much mazing where the hospital back home that you have this is if you guys have had some Christmas spirit and have some money to donate look up the canvas website. I I don't usually do this on the show. I'm sorry. But this is worth your worth your time and effort. Difference. We're all basketball. The different Dylan to playing the game. I think I will ever chance to touch so many people live in this. So many of our players are doing with them during the storms. There are an amazing amazing work by so many NBA players in ex NBA players. But this is this is an extreme example. I want to get to a basketball also because you come into you hit the like button on Instagram yesterday. And we noticed your career overlap with one of the great dynasties in NBA history. The Kobe shack Lakers and this week sack said that his peak Lakers team would just beat this. Current warriors dynasty quote, teens Alie he cited their fifteen in one playoff run in two thousand one is evidence. Steph curry answered back saying quote, dead wrong. And I. Instagram. "Being created at roughly the same average rate as under President Obama wages are growing at about the same rate. They did under President Obama. So. He's never going to get the credit. He deserves. But the fact is the economy's booming and the confidence index is through the roof. And that's something that people don't want to talk about. And and he has taken steps to reduce regulations in certain areas and people say you're against regular. I'm not against regulation against overregulation. I think we should all be against over-regulation. Second thing. He's done kind of taking the shackles off in a lot of ways the economy and allowing the engine roar. And as I was talking to my friend about the economy who's a super big progressive is wife went to Berkeley. He's great, dude. I love him. We've been friends since God knows. I can't even remember since I was born it is it is. It's it's it's great. So it's talking to him. And we were chatting about this. He said, look, you know what? I I don't like the guy a human being I think he's a horrible human being. But if you're on that side of the aisle, or if you're in the middle a CYA like him looks like he's going to get a second person on the supreme court. He's trying to do all he can for peace, even though he's a loud mouth, and and seems to be a horrible human being outside of of his actions when it comes to politics, but at the same time, the economy's booming, and I feel better than I have in a long time about my position. And I couldn't say that under Obama. And I said, this is the way I think people need to look at this. President Obama had a horrible start that wasn't his fault. He came into an awful position. I wouldn't wish that on anybody. And this algebra brought up is you know, there was a coach coach, Michael Jordan. And then before. Phil Jackson, and they never got to the promised land. Kobe shack didn't have Del Harris before they got to the promised land. Sometimes it takes that person to get them over the hump to get them there. And I the economy look the economy wasn't dead. And those about you out there on the right? He said the economy was dead and that Trump single-handedly revived it. He did not he's may giving it confidence in areas that there wasn't confidence. But at the same time, he's also gone further than Obama did my biggest issue with Obama is he never let the economy the economy. There was too much tinkering too much regulations. Too much slowing it down too much self inflicted. And we never got back to the area where I look at Trump. And I feel like we're headed in a position. That's great. And while the and this is where where he said, you know, well, the job numbers and all of these things first of all the job number three point seven. We have seen this since nineteen sixty nine but also understand how the job numbers work. They're always kind of weird hokey numbers. You're not looking for job. I it's still unemployment is extremely low. Don't get me wrong. But three point seven overall. But here's one thing while the growth rate economically as far as you staying at your position seeing wage growth that may not be true. But because the job market is so open right now people are going they won't give me a raise here, but I can go across the street and. Fifteen twenty percent more. That's where it is happening. And I don't think people understand that. So there's a lot of ways to look at this. But the people I talked to. I was in the financial business for a long time. They feel good now. They're slowdowns coming. I want. You guys understand a slowdown is coming. But I think right now the market's going to be good. I think this fourth quarter is going to be amazing. A really do. I absolutely do three two three five three eight twenty four twenty three at Chadbensonshow is your Twitter..

"Gotta go to guy on the show. You know that ESPN senior writer Arash Markazi joins us arosh. We appreciate your time as always you were at LeBron's first appearance as a Laker. Describe the sort of the chaos around that for us, it was nuts. I knew there was going to be a big crowd, but that was the largest of an every Lakers Uday since about like two thousand one. That is the largest. I mean, this is going back to Kobe shack, and you know, when Gobi and Powell or having success? I. Never seen a obviously, not just the local crowd national and there was a there was a couple of questions from like Brazil and England. So it was like a worldwide flair as well. And so you know, and it was sort of this unique thing where you know LeBron agreed to join the Lakers July first. But this was his first time not only addressing the media, but our first time seeing him in a Lakers uniform. So we waited a long time. But again, it attracted a huge crowd. How was he received by the local media? Because like this is a big name going into a big market that's very used to big star. So how was he received. I think it was received. Well, I think I mean, I think the reporters in the media locally at least are excited that the Lakers are once again, going to be a relevant team now, I don't know how good they're going to be a playoff team. I think three, maybe a second round playoff team, you know. But you know the Lakers are the number one team in this market and for them to be as poor as they've been for the past five years. I don't think anyone for saw that happening. I mean, like I mean, even when they've had their bad years, a bad year for the Lakers is you, you get to the playoffs and you lose in the first round and so for them to get, you know, arguably the best player in the league and to be sort of like the talk of the NBA again is a huge moment. And so you know, every it wasn't a great press conference. He didn't have any great material. You didn't hear in t- they were gonna win a championship, but it was just fun. I think once again for Los Angeles to be the center of the Haskell world. Doc on the ESPN senior writer, a rush McCarthy on the shell Pennzoil performance line. Let's let's just honest. There's just us talking here. Did you pull them off to the side afterwards and ask for a cameo in Space, Jam. I didn't, but I would love that. I would love that. So maybe at some point I will talk to him or maverick or someone and say, hey, listen, you know, now for nothing. If you need someone to play a cameo role in Space Jam to, I would love that. I mean, but realistically, man, you have the gift of getting invited into anything trying. So I'm pretty sure they're going to ask you and you won't have to expend any energy. I do want to ask you though you, you mentioned that he wasn't guaranteeing championships. I thought it was interesting that his tone was kind of the opposite of that. He was managing expectations from the get go about where this Lakers team is versus where they need to get to. Did that surprise you at all. Here's the thing that a little bit of a skepticism and I don't know if you if you heard it in some of the questions that we were asking, but there's this feeling that LeBron shows loss Angeles, not for the on the court product, but for what he's doing in terms of his production company, his HBO show Space Jam too, you know? So I think some of us wanted to. Here little bit more. Listen. We're going to compete for a championship this year, or, you know, this is I got like a two year plan or something more along the lines of 'cause with the Lakers is championship or bus? No, listen, this team is not a championship team right now. They're just clearly not then, but I think when you play for the Yankees and when you pay play for the the the Los Angeles Lakers the expectation is they compete for championship..

"Yeah, I think you gotta win at least five out of six gotta be you gotta do what Michael Jordan, Matt way Johnson went to nine final in ten years, but here's the thing. These these teams always break up into, for example, tragically, the Lakers were broken up when magic was diagnosed HIV positive, and Kareem just aged out, you know, he retired. You get so many to the finals when you're after Kareem. The Kobe shack Lakers broke up over the division of the two biggest stars. The Powell Lamar Koby Lakers just burned out. They had gone to three street finals. Phil Jackson's at the end of his run, the Chicago bills probably blew up their dynasty. Wait a little too early to two years. I know you as clay's dad are rooting for this warriors dynasty to milk it for as long ago when it ends. How does why? What do you think? Do you think one of the four leaves and goes to another team to injuries derail? It does Steve Kerr decide, I don't need to coach anymore because I have back issues. What's your sense of how that thing will finally end do they? Is it like with magic green? Do they age out? I think that's how I was gonna think they're going to age out Steph is gonna turn thirty one this year, and he is a physical specimen. The boy don't put on no wait. You look at stuff right now is like he's got two percent, body fat. Having said that Michael, the Oklahoma City thunder took them to seven. And then this past the Houston Rockets took him to go to be challenged. I'm not saying they're going to sweep go sixteen and one every year they're going to be challenged by the Lakers and the in the coming years are gonna be Houston by Utah. That's fast approaching Boston's not the next four years. Boston's gonna be in the finals folks. You might as well get used too much as we hate the Celtics. They're going to be in a finals coming out Easter. Next, I'll see nobody competing with maybe now. They're not deep enough. If Boston keeps that team in the first ten, nobody's gonna touch a four or five years and east. But the the the warriors only thing that could stop them is their lack of hunger or if they break it up. I think Joe lake of and Peter Guber the owners are going to let these guys age out there Steph thirty one katie's going to be thirty thirty one dream only twenty eight Claes only twenty eight. So they've got of, you know, three or four more years. I'm for the next four five years. The best years of their basketball still ahead of them for the next four years. So they they should be able to run for quite a while yet. All right. Coming up of we'll we'll give you the latest levian bell. And I've said for many, many years on this show that the NCAA is the dumbest collection of people as an organization ever assembled..

"Change the game, like the actual patching they look. Then it was a real, no look pass. Know you see how some hardcore Laker fans are going to hang onto Kobe versus LeBron as they should. You know, the Coby got, we got a lot of great memories attached to Cobian and that time. And I mean, that was a twenty point deficit in the fourth quarter with the blazers. It was a fifteen twenty. I mean, I remember exactly where I was when that happened. I mean, but that's Kobe. Shacks legacy. Kobe did Powell as well. But again, magic worthy, Scott Green Kareem, like bills. I mean, I to me what they did for the game. You know what I mean that that's do know LeBrun is coming not to try to raise Kobe's legs, right? I hope I hope so people have personal, but like their bands of their favorite rapper. It's there right. But you know, so if you want to, you know, if you want go on the Brian. Yeah. I will be willing to give you a rematch for anytime you wanna come out of one over high schools and we wanna do a Cup of two hundred me wanna talk to hundred. What do you mean? I run two hundred. I don't wanna be talking to. Ask you all day. If you would like to. So we can do you realize just turned fifty years of congratulations. Yeah, yeah. Moisturizers worse. Great for. Thank you for joining us. It was a pleasure and make sure to check out black clansmen in theaters. Now. Terrones absence from canton for the hall of fame, induction ceremony was criticized by a lot of people, including many of his fellow hall of famers. Michael Irvin went on the rich Eisen show a day before the ceremony and said, some of the hall of famers took te'o not being there personally, urban also said Teo owes it to the people to be there. But the hall of famers would hug him if he ever shows up to canton deal responded yesterday tweeting, quote, rich, he's ridiculous and I don't know anybody. Anything must be the side slash after-effects of drug use. I'm going to leave it at that definitely won't be any hugging going on hashtag, go mocks, which is t. Ozama mater or joined by rob Parker and rob. I'm going to start with you. Was this tweet from te'o in bounds or out of bounds inbounds from this point, this is who -til wiz, and when you rub him the wrong way to come back at you, this is just how he's wired and. And I don't think what Michael Irvin said was the worst thing in the world. I don't know. I I really don't, but I think t o felt like his character was being assassinating. It's one thing when you tell somebody you wanna debate them, whether they deserve to be in the hall of fame on their play, then you could accept that, okay. But once people opened up so many things about him, I think he just his natural reaction is I'm going to fight back for who I am. I name these people don't really know who I am, and I think that's always been the issue with Teo what people thought from the outside and what he has on the inside. I don't know him that well, I never got to cover him. I told you came to my class to speak for an hour to the kids, and I thought he was very honest and open, and I got a glimpse of what I feel was the real guy, right? Which is a very sensitive guy when it comes to people talking about right and the Mike. Urban stuff. I know people say, why did you gotta go there? What? Its public knowledge. He went through some issues. He cleaned his life up, but it's out there just like some of the other players that have gotten into hall of fame, Lawrence Taylor and whatnot. And people didn't seem that didn't seem to bother them when it came for Laurence Taylor and other players who had off the field issues to get in. It didn't seem to bother the writers at all. I don't remember anybody saying, well, how can you do this? If Lawrence Taylor was doing that certain quarterback from Green Bay that got him, but we not right, but you know what I'm saying. Those things didn't seem to bother people, but for whatever reason him being a quote, unquote diva and wanting to football and maybe an I'm gonna not going to say that he didn't do anything wrong..

"We sort of always look back at the old dynasties and say, man, I wish because I think there was a piece of the world even in that era that was looking back at the polls, and it was like, oh, the bulls, the bulls, and now we look back at the Kobe shack Erin say, oh, Kobe shock, you know. And I think in ten years, we'll look back in the warriors in many ways the same. If we can always if we can all sort of forgive it Darren in Florida, what are you going. Well, I would bring back steroids the baseball 'cause guys were hitting seventy five home runs this season. It was with you, too, is I am with you all. I kinda called in to weigh in on the Gruden thing. I've just real quick. If you got a second. I would say he in twelve or fifteen years. He he spent all his time in the booth. Evaluate these teams. He does the Gruden QB camps, and he knows what all these young quarterbacks brings to the table. He knows how coaches minds work on the opposing teams for their offensive strategies. Defensive strategies I think is coaching style were remain the same, but I think he's going to bring a lot more to the table as far as overall knowledge of who plays how and playing two other teams, weaknesses and taking away their strengths Darren next to the call man. I appreciate it. And, and you know, I want to agree with that on some senses, but I'm not gonna give a guy in the booth credit for evolution when it's hard for existing. Coaches to evolve. And that's, that's gonna be an interesting piece of this because quarterbacks have changed so much spread offenses in the college ranks have changed the way things are communicated so much. And just again, communication in the last ten years has changed so much. Those are the pieces that I think are going to be the most interesting to watch. Obviously, I'm rooting for I wanted to be fantastic. I wanted to be spectacular, but we're going to start to get a sense for tonight. As we see the raiders kickoff, the Gruden era, Spain and Fitz, Spain, and Fitz on ESPN radio, the ESPN app siriusxm channel eighty. I'm Jason Fitz flying solo tonight. ESPN presented by progressive insurance in, let's face it. It's not just a hype train in Cleveland at this point after last night's preseason football game. Now it's not. It's like a hype rocket. This thing is is is blasting off. Everybody wants a piece of it. Everybody seems all in on the Brown. So we figure we'll go to somebody that's right in the thick of it. That can be a comb head to give us where I should be on this now. So we'll. Go to the shell Pennzoil performance line for Cleveland dot coms, Brown reporter, Mary Kay Cabot in America. We'll get to a Baker in a second. Obviously, you can't have you not talk about that. But first before the game even started last night, I felt like the world was following the Twitter wall of Dez Bryant at this point, what's the latest and do you think he ends up in Cleveland? Yeah, that was so funny the way that that went down, we had an opportunity to talk to John Dorsey in the press box before that game. And I asked him. He said, yeah, we're bringing some receivers next week. Nice implant blank. We'll Dez Bryant be among them. And he said, we would be if he would return any of my phone calls. And so I waited that out right away knowing that it was a little bit of a nugget there and and I wrote about it as soon as I could. And then before too long, you know, you had does responding to that because he's of course all over social media. And so it's kind of fun because at one point when when does said I will, you know, becoming to the land to see you Mr. Dorsey or whatever the exact quote was. John Dorsey was sitting right behind me. At that point, the game was going on behind me at the press box, and he said, well, my phone that Reagan yet. But the truth of the matter is is that he will come in. He has decided that he will take a look at these Cleveland, but maybe he wanted to see what they look like a little bit..

"And if you're in the same division with him, you better be able to equal him that off. If lying. Yeah. Maybe Zeke makes the line more than the line makes do. If you if you swamp them. Don't you think Zeke with in trouble as as DeMarco Murray giants win the division DeMarco Murray. Zeke make that offensive line for eighteen forty eight. And with off if the player of the year behind that line. Yeah, yeah. Oh, really good. Oh, the guy from Arkansas make fad the Afghan. He went for thousand behind that off. His landed. Google get like two and whatever they were. I four hundred that line. Are you get seven? No, no, no, no. No. I'm gonna get fifty five because once they hit me we will see. All right. Thank you. All right. Unfortunately, another LeBron Ural was banned allies here in LA what is going on. We'll talk about. Time for final topic of the day. Another LeBron James mural was put up in Los Angeles and just like the first one vandalized the mural showed LeBron looking up at former Laker greats including Kobe shack, magic, but white paint was poured on the image of LeBron Friday night Shannon. Are you surprised that this happening? Not because I've been for the longest time this, hey, LeBron James is absolutely for real. Now. First they said where they put the king LA, how they're they be disrespectful to the other great players played it. And lake lake legend the, the shack, the all those guys, how dare he be annoyed the king of LA. So we're going to do. We're going to do a new mural and we're gonna have him. He's going to be paying homage the great he's going to be looking at, oh my goodness, this is what I'm about to embark upon. And they pay notice air. See this is about the hatred. This is not about him being disrespectful. This is some clouds. Call your clown. Whoever did it clown or clown. Whoever did this got nothing better to do with their time, but don't worry about it. The Brian do what they do, and y'all can kit rocks. Even though this is a small sample size, the truth is I've been trying to warn you from the start. There is a core of Laker fans, and it is hard core liquefy and they see LeBron James as never having been as mentally tough as say, Kobe, Bryant was the bottom line to this. They're saying, show us. I prove it first before you belong on any mural because on any mural you can't put LeBron even Laker looking up paying on which you can't have. I don't care how. Any metric LeBron's a better player than Kobe. So it had nothing to do mentality. There been a lot of guys might be tougher to me play the now work. So talented that all that, but it came, what would you rather be a Mamba or rather be the mom would rather be a, I. I hope they picked. Thanks for listening to the podcast. I'm Jenny Taft. "We have seen something like that you can save magic and kareem kareem was in the middle of his career out about point guard not kobe shack point guard center penny and shack and i don't think penny was ben simmons to tell you the truth i think simmons has more upside even than penny did an nba game is more well rounded i'm not saying he's going to be better than shack we'll see but more well rounded than shacks at this early of an age at this young of an age so no the cavs are getting to the finals because they're not getting to the conference finals and if they do somehow get by toronto thing getting by philadelphia well listen i first of all i don't appreciate you bringing up the process because obviously you're trying to give me five because you're gonna make because people out over the national airwaves because you know how feel about the process i don't even appreciate you bringing that up so i'm not gonna take the bait number one number two you know what i will tell you this you probably have a chance of being right about toronto i'm not willing to concede there because i know toronto's the better team i never questioned that they're better team than cleveland the reason why don't favor them over cleveland is because i believe that lebron james is there kryptonite that's my issue with the toronto raptors he's dead kryptonite watching them last night up close you seeing other guys coming off the bench that they all have size and then length and the athletic and as a result when their primary responsibility is to defend and you throw those guys out there against the greatness of lebron james it could spell trouble for the cleveland cavaliers with everybody else because they do have long defenders even though you don't count on them to provide you anything offensively we shall see i get all of that but in the end what this comes down to for me is that i'm seeing the philadelphia seventy sixers in a very very special light because of their ability to defend and hit perimeter shots and as a result of that i am willing to concede that i think that even with the youth the philadelphia seventy sixers will represent the eastern conference in this year's nba funds everyone.
