Packed Black Friday sports schedule
"AP sports I'm Tom Miriam. On Black Friday, the NBA and NHL were as busy as the shopping malls. 14 NBA games and 13 on the ice were played the day after both leagues were off for Thanksgiving. The Celtics added to their league leading record by beating searching Sacramento as Jason Tatum scored 30 with help from the Boston bench. I think when we might have been down for the end of the half of ten, he knows because of those guys came in and just changed the momentum. The bucks kept pace by beating the Cavaliers thanks largely to a 35, ten third quarter in which Bobby port has played a key role. Felt good for us overall as a basketball team, because it felt like we was playing books, basketball, for a chance. Victories also for the Lakers heat suns, warriors, nuggets, grizzly sixers pacers, rockets, thunder hornets, and the trailblazers in overtime over the Knicks. NHL, the bruins became the first team to win its first 12 home games in the season, as they beat the hurricanes three to two in overtime on David pasternak's gold. Big win for us, obviously, and coming from behind, you know, after Thanksgiving, the game is never easy, so it's good with. The devil's after having their 13 game win streak snap bounced back with a three one win in Buffalo. Other winners, the capitals penguins islanders red wings, Maple Leafs Canadians kraken jets, senators kings and lightning, with Braden points scoring too early goals. I think both teams were into it right away. It was nice to get a couple goals for us early. Pretty good jump on the game. I thought it was a fun game. World Cup soccer, the United States finished in a scoreless tie with England as coach Greg berhalter's young team had the better scoring chances. Overall, pleased with the performance of the group, most importantly, the belief of the group, because that never wavered. The U.S. now must be to ran on Tuesday to advance to the knockout round. Plenty of college action on Black Friday, football winners included four ranked teams tulane, Florida state UCLA and Texas, and basketball top ranked North Carolina lost a wire with state. Kathy Hochul's 'Shocking' Statement on COVID Lockdowns
"Had a debate between the God willing incoming governor of New York, my buddy Lee zeldin and the current anointed non elected governor Kathy hochul, who was asked about COVID lockdowns. Her answer, shocking, play cut. You've been an election denier, a climate change denier. You and Donald Trump were the masterful COVID deniers. We are dealing with a real crisis. And the more people get vaccinated, get those shots in arms. And I would do it all over again when I did last year that mandate for healthcare workers. So just as New York loses a case and they're told, everybody who's fired, back to work, back pay because it was illegal. Vocal is asked, would you do it again? In Hulk Hogan, lying about my body leaves out and said, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I shut down New York again. When you look at, I know the book deals with government lockdowns and power grabs. Isn't the most frightening thing just in that they're probably going to do it again. Absolutely. And that's why we're kind of using this book as a defense against these. We know that they're going to use these same tactics, whether it's for the next wave of COVID, the Knicks pandemic, or whether boogeyman they have in store probably climate change activism. And look, they're very, very pleased with the majority of the populace, the World Economic Forum just the other week was touting how compliant people were with all these measures and interventions. And they would love to see us all sharing one bike among three households eating insects and getting away from meat, right? This is their dream and to know that they could gladly weld us inside of our apartments and we might not complain is exactly what they're trying to do.

What's in the Bipartisan Gun Legislation Agreement
"Some protections for convicted for victims of convicted domestic violence abusers. Those restraining orders will be put in the Knicks system. Whether or not you have a relationship with, if you've got a restraining order against you and you're convicted of a crime, you're not going to be able to purchase a gun. And the language there is going to be very important for constitutional issues. School based mental health and supportive services and school safety resources. This is where the revenue throw. How much money are they giving to school district to put arm police on campuses? Call them whatever you want. That's what we're talking about is how much money are given to the states and the strings. There will be some definitional changes to a licensed firearms dealer so that the net is bigger. Telehealth investments, again, that's just don't know. Now the key probably is the enhanced review process for buyers under 21 years of age. Not a longer waiting period. That was specifically rejected. But they're going to be able to get 18 to 20 years 11 months and 30 days. The next process is going to open up your juvenile and mental health records. And I like that.

"knicks" Discussed on Behind the Bets
"I'm fresh off a week in Guatemala celebrating a friend's wedding, a lot of dancing, a lot of singing and performing for me. So I'm trying to get back in the swing of things here and know better way to do it than a DW podcast on a Tuesday afternoon with you Anita. My favorite wedding party song is pour some sugar on me. I feel like that's the song that gets everybody cropped. It's an absolute banger. Quick side note when I was 18, I went down to cancun for spring break and I met the friend who actually got married in Guatemala at a club. While that song was playing and instead of pouring some sugar on me, he just poured his drink straight on my head and we danced the night away and cancun. So I absolutely agree with you, Def Leppard, pour some sugar on me. That one gets the people going. All right, let's try and get our people some winners today and this week around the bedding board. We'll start today since we do have some NBA that can be played on Tuesday night. It's a light slate, just four games on the NBA slate, Anita, anything that stands out to you that you'd like to share with our listeners. Yeah, I loved the Knicks about an hour ago in the news broke that Julius Randle is going to be out. But I still like them. And they're getting one and a half. Listen, this is a team that really no pressure right now. They're really not playing for anything. They're kind of in purgatory. They have won four. They're won 5 of their last 8, they have the 12th best defense in the NBA, but the 23rd worst offense in the MBA. But when they go up against horrible defenses, guess what? The average a 113 points Collins for the hawks is expected to not play tonight because of his finger in his foot. You also have Lou Williams who's out. So again, I love Linux an hour ago. I like them now as we're recording this podcast, but what Julius Randle out, I'll tell you what I do love, and that's RJ Barrett over 26 and a half points. He averages 24 a game and a lot is going to be expected of him tonight with Julius Randle out. Also, obi toppin is going to get a bump up in he averages ten minutes and 8 points a game with Randall out and Tim's likes him a lot. So I can see top and getting anywhere between, I don't know. 18 to 25 minutes. So I'm really curious his prop bets haven't hit the slate yet. So they haven't hit the boards yet. So I'm really curious if it's anything above like 8 and a half or 9 and a half points. I'm all over topping as well. Yeah, I got some good news for you with the news that Randall is out. The Knicks are now actually getting three, three and a half in some spots. So obviously that's a big deal missing Randall, but I agree with you. I love the Knicks. They might be my dog of the day. They might end up being my best bet, but breathing can find three and a half take the Knicks. And the reason why is the Atlanta Hawks are the worst team in the NBA on the road this season. They're ten and 24 ATS. They've covered just ten of 34 games on the road this season. They play terrible defense on the road. They don't win games on the road. They don't cover on the road, so I love the Knicks. Now with Randall, you're getting those extra two points or one and a half points. And I think obi toppin can step in. And fill that void. He's a supreme athlete. That's why we see him in the dunk contest. And he doesn't have the, maybe the skill of a Julius Randle, but in a game that I think that will showcase and, you know, kind of portend to athleticism because of the way the Atlanta plays. I think topic can fill in and help this Knicks team to a win at home as an underdog. So I like you like the Knicks plus the points because Atlanta is so bad, ATS this season. Some other basketball games to look at here today in the NBA. Maybe the best one on paper is Milwaukee hosting the Chicago Bulls. Milwaukee is a 7 point home favorite against Chicago. They total of two 34. This one is hard for me Anita to handicap because I know a couple of things. One, there's no Chris Middleton for the box. We're likely know Chris Middleton. Thank you. This is going to be back after sitting out a game. Really only Lonzo Ball is out for Chicago in terms of roster. But the bulls this season, they've been a really awesome team ATS at home. They've also been an awesome team beating up on bad teams. And this is neither of those situations. They're on the road in Milwaukee and they're playing a playoff team. The bulls have no wins against teams that are going to be in the postseason this year. They have cultivated their record by just absolutely dominating the dregs of the NBA. All of that being said, I don't love laying 7 with Milwaukee when I'm uncertain about how their lineup is going to look. So I think how I'm going to approach this game for the time being is take Milwaukee's team total over one 20 and a half, maybe play the game over two 34 and a half. And I have a slightly lean towards Milwaukee, though I may just try and find a money line parlay with them because I'm pretty sure they're going to win this game if that trend holds for Chicago of them just absolutely struggling against the good teams in the NBA and struggling to cover or I shouldn't say strolling to cover. Just not being quite as dominant against the spread on the road as they are at home. Do you have any way you can maybe help me narrow down high when I tackle this game Anita? I'm staying away from that one. Too much going on there, boo. But there is one game that I do like other than the Knicks. And that is the clippers. I like the clippers getting 7 against Denver. Listen, they have had three days off. They haven't played since Friday, so they're fresh. They're coming in. They have the 8th best ranked defense in the NBA. So I think they have what it takes to slow down the nuggets, especially zubak going up against jokic. I think that's going to be a really, really good matchup to watch tonight. And I do like Reggie Jackson over 18 and a half points. You know, he's averaging 23. He plays good defense. I think he's going to be a big part of their success tonight. And I like the way that Lou has these guys playing. So give me the clippers plus 7. Yeah, the clippers nuggets game is in Denver. I will probably stay away from picking a side or total there, but I do like DeMarcus cousins props..

"He's pushing the narrative that the coach is holding him back. He's just trying to get paid, shows more of this offensive game you claim you have. He saw this and responded to it and said, everybody knows when everybody gets involved in the ball moving and everybody touching the ball, the energy and effort goes to another level. Let me, as you this, and be 100% with your answer, how would you feel just running up and down the court for 48 or even 20 minutes? You all got to look at it. I deeply appreciate it if I can watch TikTok without being mentioned in a tweet kills my vibe, thanks and have a good morning. The last part was that is pretty funny. But dates at middle part were obviously thrilled with his place in the organization. And let's go back to prior to the season, the Knicks had a team auction for him. They could have declined and made him restricted free agent last year, really controlled the process, but they picked that up to have him on the cheap, have a ton of cap space. This summer. And now they're in a position where, all right, now you've used up all that capsule because now he's an unrestricted free agent. And in a pretty poor free agent class, he could all of a sudden look pretty good. Now, he hasn't expanded his game really at all. He's basically kind of the same guy he's been since year one. With he doesn't block as many shots anymore. Rebounding has gotten a little bit better, which maybe is maybe he's not chasing blocks like you used to. Those kind of things. But no, remember we saw those videos of him shooting three pointer after three pointer. One day, he wanted to say maybe that was before the bubble. Or something. Yeah, he's never taken one in a game. I don't think. Yeah, he's still in four years. He hasn't taken one in a game. So I don't care about that. Great, great. Cool. You were shooting a bunch of warm ups like during practice and an empty gem, but yeah, so let's see, and this guy still has battled some health issues. It has been in and out of the lineup a lot and his first few seasons. So I don't know where this is going to go. But, you know, my guess is because he's 24 towards the end of this season. Yeah, someone will come along and give him a pretty healthy number. What's fair market value, you think for if you're an.

"knicks" Discussed on The Lowe Post
"Not remembered that and it did not shockingly just the just the nudging toward the line of saying maybe the league is not a big fan of how the next play did not go over well with David stern. Yeah, and the truth is like they weren't fans of how they played the Knicks were of the opinion that it's funny. We rehashed the conversation all the time about the 85 draft lottery. And was it a frozen envelope? Was the knick was the league trying to help the Knicks because in helping the Knicks would have helped the league because that's their big market. And the fallout from it, regardless of what you think, the league has always denied that there was something at play there. The Knicks were of the opinion that the league was trying to undo whatever perception that that created. That they had to step up and basically say, we're not friends with the Knicks actually. We're going to take stuff out harder on the Knicks because we want to show that we're not friendly with them and we're not doing them favors. And so the next part of the opinion that between that and also the fact that the league is basically right in the backyard of Madison Square Garden and that the fact that the league had more season tickets to next games than any other corporation organization, that the Knicks were basically saying, we're under surveillance. Like everything we do is being watched more closely from our starting lineup introductions running 15 seconds too long and the league looking to ding us for that every time or the fact that even when we show instant replays that are perceived to be controversial calls from the refs or sketchy calls that we show those replays three times and the league is on us about it because you're not supposed to show controversial replacement. Yes, please. Please, please in 30 seconds tell listeners about the red phone. The bad phone, which I did not, which I did not know about it and left very, very hard. Yeah, no, the Knicks had a red phone sitting down on court side basically to tell their game apps people anytime there was a play that was controversial that you were only supposed to show once because of the rule I just laid out. The quiet rule that the league had about that, that the Knicks brass basically, Ernie grunfeld, Dave checketts would call down to the people sitting courtside on the red phone and anytime it was a controversial call they would call and says, play it again, play it against show it again to essentially try to guilt the refs and make them feel bad for the fact that they called it. And that would obviously the red phone could the red phone make calls or was it one of those phones that didn't even have like a dial on it or any number that could just take incoming calls from like two number. I want to know what I need to see the red flag. I don't want to see it too, but red am I making up that it's red? Is it actually red? Was it red? Red phone. Yes. Okay. So the Knicks had. And I think that detail is important just because the Knicks had something of a contentious relationship with the league. I mean, this all kind of came to a head really and I think it was at 92 or 93 where Charles Oakley laid out Reggie Miller and there's one player in particular during a regular season game, a December 30th, I think, 1992 game where Reggie Miller is cutting backdoor Rick Smith sees him and throws him a pass, but Charles Oakley sees Miller stepping up to try to make the catch. So Oakley steps up and lays out his shoulder and Reggie Miller just goes flying. And the ball goes off regie Mueller's hand, out of bounds, but the rest didn't call a foul and they also didn't get the out of bounds call right. It went off Reggie's hand, but they called it off the Knicks. And all you hear is Marv Albert say, wow, and it's like the refs were to dumbfounded to even know what to call. And Donnie Walsh, the pacers GM is sitting there and the crowd. And in that very moment, he said to himself, one, they didn't call a foul and two, they missed the call. It was clearly off us, but they're calling it our ball because I don't know if the rest are trying to make up the caller. They didn't know what happened because it happened so fast. But all I know is the pacers GM, I'm about to overhaul our team to go bring in more guys like Oakley because it confuses the refs as to even what to do with them. And so the pacers, there was no foul call there, but the league later find Oakley like the next day for laying out his shoulder and lowering his shoulder on Reggie. And the next for furious and that was when they essentially alleged and they threatened to not allow rod during the league's disciplinarian to come to their games anymore. And they said, we need to hash this out. We want to have a meeting at headquarters at Lee headquarters. And that was when they alleged that the league had it out for them, basically, and that they were making it like a fairness issue. David stern basically told them to get the F out. The Knicks had brought their no bass, his language was almost assuredly even worse than that. I'm sure. But they brought their lead lawyer the Knicks brought their lead lawyer to me and their lawyer was saying like, we can't make this argument. This is crazy. They were arguing that they're out to get us like based on what, but they wanted to send the message that I used the line, it was an abrasive way of handling it, but abrasive was all the Knicks knew. And so it kind of becomes interesting when you know what happens later on in 97, certainly that the idea that the Knicks feel like the leak has it out for them. I don't know that 97 to be clear, I think you're referencing the first of their trilogy against the heat, which the heat win in 7 games after brawl number one between the two teams results in a whole ton of suspensions for the Nixon game 7. The Knicks would, of course, win the next two against the heat. All that is in the book, the second of those three is the famous brawl where Jeff van Gundy is on Alonso morning's leg, getting dragged around the floor and he claims he'd barely even remember. He kind of blacked out and raised every member doing that. So we're jumping all over the place, 'cause there's so many great details, but just a mere mention of Charles Oakley, Chris, you read a book like this. It's 300 pages long. I've read a gazillion other books about basketball. You're only gonna remember off the top of your head so many things from each particular book. One of them I will remember for the rest of my life and I had never heard this before is that Charles Oakley ultimate blue collar basketball player. You just described what he did to regime. Charles Oakley led the Knicks. Maybe led the entire league in sending back food at restaurants because it was not up to his standards. How did you learn this? Where did this come from? Were you able to talk to Charles locally about this? Is he more particular about the cut of his meat, the quality of his salads? I just need to know everything about Charles Oakley sending food back at restaurants. That one was actually not that surprising to me. I've only met Charles really, maybe one time, and I was doing a podcast with Bill roden several years ago at a restaurant in Harlem. And I think because I covered the Knicks. And because he'd spoken to Charles, he decided to have us on together. And so that was my first time meeting Charles. We talked a little bit. And this was years ago before all the stuff with him in the garden a few years back. And we ended up talking a lot about Charles being like this Gourmet chef, which is not necessarily what you expect when you just see this big bustling dude that is more physical than everybody else combined. But you know, but he picked up a lot of things he learned how to cook, I think, is a relatively young person..

"Little bit of comfort and knowing that everything went right for the next tonight. Lots of things. Now, what is Julia Julius made to think going to happen when you do that? Is he think Nick's fans are going to cheer him now? Or does he think Nick's fans are going to do way worse than the thumbs down? Probably going to give them they're going to give him a little different people that out. At least at least that's how Boston rules, right? Yeah, exactly. His fingers across the angle. What's your right set? Yeah, we'll get a different digit for sure. You don't want to lose it between the lines. Exactly, read between the lines. So that's Julius New York is a worse. No. Evan fournier, can we talk about him for a second? Sure. Maybe not. Here's a guy. We should talk about him before bob becomes not so that way we can tell Bobby that we already talked about him and he's not talking about. Honestly is what happened. He must be. I want to predict that he's going to go with the whole, you know, something could have used a guy like this right now. Yeah. Exactly. Well, look, but it all comes back to the 48 versus smart argument. That was the money you had. You had a choice. Do you want an Evan fournier type or a Marcus smart type? Yeah, but this isn't Evan fournier. This is fournier vert. I hate the Celtics, okay? This isn't exactly 48 on the road. So if you're a Knicks fan, Evan for who could he be for you? Definitely making you crazy, 'cause I'm pretty sure fournier put up a goose egg. Two nights ago. Two nights ago. Asking these miserable zero points in like 2030 minutes fourth quarter. All over there. Now Celtics fans have only seen them a few times since he left and he looks like Michael Jordan out there. But that's not the real Evan fournier. So I'm still okay with letting that guy go. He's a streaky, he was extremely streaky with the Celtics when he was on the court. He had horrible nights overnight and he's doing it now on the Knicks, and then yeah, he gets hot and he has a freaking career high tonight, of course. Ten, three pointers. But this is fool's goal as far as I'm concerned. Fournier. 36 points in his last California. 46 points in his. No, 30, 30, three, 6, before this last four games..

"If you're looking for a hired help, that's the place to do it, LinkedIn. Everyone's on LinkedIn. And Facebook is out LinkedIn is in all the worst way. How many people? How many people? How many millions of people? People around me, my Friends. The entire world. So many. 700 million. At least 700 million. 700 million so what is just funnier? 770 million people on LinkedIn. So post your job there for free. Everybody in the world. Literally everybody. And then some, we've got dead people, you know? Totally. Once you have a LinkedIn profile work too. That doesn't go away. Yeah. That does not go away. We are waiting. We want to see if we can catch Bobby Manning coming in off of his postgame. He is as we said out in New York. Other leftovers for this game. Bobby's on cloud 9. He's probably the only guy waiting for Evan fournier from the Celtics section. Hey, here's actually a kind of a funny, the Knicks are still the Knicks. I guess during the nation have never traded you, right? I guess during the game, Julius Randle hit a big shot and then like jogging back, did the thumbs down? To like the crowd, I guess. And somebody asked me after the game, what is the thumbs down? And he said, shut the F up. So he did telling the crowd. Telling Knicks fans who have stuck by these guys, you know, it's weird. He's just got to have fun. He feels like a week ago because they were quick to boo. And then it was like two plays later. They start sharing off the screw that I don't want you. So even when the Knicks thing, even when the Knicks have a good night, they can't even really have now it's going to be all about you is Randall telling everyone to shut that up. So that's kind of funny..

"Network. They want to do that. Every team in every city has their own dedicated channel and station that just runs team propaganda all day and it's crazy. So you know when you grew up in New York late, MSG is this is this thing and now you work over there man. It's gotta be I know that's like a dream come true for you. Yeah, it's a stable in New York City, man. I tell people every time, thank you for taking a picture of me in your bar. I just like, I love, I love the fact that after every big game, people are super super happy or super drunk or super sad. And they're indexed. They're gonna see my face, right? So I always thought that's just the coolest part of the gig. And it's almost like a Knicks after party, right? Or like a Knicks, or just an MBA after party, you know what I mean? Because even being from New York bro it's not anything you ever think could happen, you know what I'm saying? That's not what you think about. I've never thought that this opportunity would present itself and I'm a lifer, bro, this is something that as a New Yorker, you just kind of grow up with and being like, you know, being a part of MSG network and being able to talk and just like the little stuff that people don't even see on TV like this being able to like watch the games with while these RBI and Alan and peto and Monica mcnaught and like there's no better way to watch this game than with those people, you know what I'm saying? And everybody who works there is just like so cool and so hyped to work with you because they kind of see my enthusiasm for it as well, you know? It doesn't feel like work, man. It's like, I get to go and talk with Knicks fans and celebrities and Monica who's like a mega star, who's just like, you know, just about whatever's happening in the world. And it's my tribe. I want to ask you about that because I remember one of my first holy shit. I'm actually doing the job of covering the NBA being an NBA media, whatever which obviously is a lifelong dream. I was in Staples in the media room. And I looked to my right and Jerry West was getting like frozen yogurt or whatever from the machine. And I was just like, that's fucking Jerry West standing 6 inches from me, right? That was my holy shit. I'm really doing this moment. What was your MSG on me? It's like, y'all I'm really fucking working for MSG right now. I mean, it happens every day, bro, I think the first time the first time Mike brain says your name, like, coming up next. Has.

"His size as a wing defender to that's gonna be super valuable. He's shown flashes as a playmaker. I think he's gonna be a good NBA player. He obviously works his ass off on his game. It's just, you know, people thought that it might happen a little bit faster for him. And it just happened and you know in New York, you're gonna be under the microscope. Yeah, yeah. I mean, he's a guy that, you know, people forget, he was like the hype high school dude. You know what I'm saying before, Zion Williamson took over every second shots away from Zion duke. Exactly like he was the guy, bro so I don't know man. I think I agree with you, I think he's gonna be a good NBA player, but I think the trajectory might be a little bit more traditional than the mega stars of Zion and John moret. You know what I mean? It might just take a little longer for him to get there. So last question before we wrap up the next portion of our conversation. And your idealized immediate future of the New York Knicks, what do you think happens in kaz is like, all right, this is what I would like to see within the next year or a year or two from now what I would like to have happen to the team. Oh, man. I mean, I think any rational Knicks fan and there's not many of us. But I think any rational thing would just hope for, you know, fight, you know what I'm saying? At the very least, put a team out there that people could be competitive. You know what I'm saying? And just stay in the playoff hunt. Any real Knicks fan or any knowledgeable, logical person is thinking like this is a championship team. You know what I mean? It's definitely not. Well, before the season, a Nick fan of Nick fan friend of mine actually his name is kaz.

"That too. They're outmanned in the playoffs like it's gonna be about Julius Randle making some really hard shots. And at no point in his career has he been asked to do that or expected to do that. I saw no reason why we thought he should be some God is gonna carry teams into playoffs. Like that's never been his history. However, you know, whatever they have that type of season and this year, but last year they won the day on defense and I looked it up before I got my call kaz. The 25th ranked defense in the NBA. I know that keeps Tim's up at night, bro I know that's the one thing that's really pulling this hair out is that like, yo, you could lose, but losing the way that they lose in this year where people just literally who's who of who he play for with Shaq, right? Covenants in the garden and getting their career highs. It don't matter who it is, dude, every single game there's people getting career highs on the Tom thibodeau defense. I feel like he could deal with the losing, but I think that's the part that really rubs him the wrong way because that's his bread and butter, like Tom thibodeau teams play D and this one is not. Yeah, and that's what I'm saying. It's like they're ranked 17th on offense right now as far as this is per NBA dot com's measuring of offensive rating, which is kind of what you expect about league average offense from this group. But you know the idea was like, yo, this is a tips group. They should be able to put together a top 5 defense. They're in the bottom. They're in the bottom 5. Right. That's so much osmosis like people that I knew weren't great offenders that somehow become great defenders just because they're playing the tibs system because we saw happened last year. They signed a bunch of guys that, you know, before that season were really rigged no bells, but they were playing above their heads. They were playing sell out defense and you kind of thought that, okay, this is the Knicks culture now. You're not gonna come in and not play defense. You know what I'm saying? And expect to play. And that's kind of what's happened this year. Guys that we know can't really, you know, be counted on as being like locked down defenders are kind of showing their ass a little bit. Yeah, so, you know, I feel like fans and even media we tend to fall into this trap of sort of thinking in linear terms when it comes to these teams, right? Nicks were the dregs. They bring tips in. They improve the roster. They make a fourth seed out of nowhere. They improve the roster again. We're digging out at least four C to 5 seed and this linear thing where now the team kind of feels like it's going in reverse when I don't necessarily think that I don't think you can stay better. They're not a laughing stock anymore and this is like a real team. And the idea was that they should be staying the course to not gonna throw a bunch of first future first round picks for some washed up veteran like Westbrook or John Waller, what the Knicks would do in the past. This thing, of course. What do you get the feeling? 'cause obviously you tapped him with Nick fandom in a way that most people aren't. What do you think the temperature is with the Knicks fans about this course that the management has decided to take? Well, I would say obviously those expectations that people had, those change after you get a four C, those change after you go like a 15 game streak. I forgot how many games I had to go back to hamburger helper after fillet mignon. Exactly, exactly, but you know, most teams that you would expect to be a four C in the NBA playoffs, you expect them to either be there or ascend, especially with the splashy. Well, I guess I'll ask you for moves that were made in the off season. That being said, I would say the fan base and how they feel about the trades or being able to make these sort of moves. It's weird. Like you have this one section of the Knicks fan base that's like, yo, we got everything we got everything on the team right now that could fix this. Just play to kids. Play the kids. Look at ob topping, that dude's on SportsCenter every night, but not only that he plays with energy. Look it quickly. Even though he's not perfect, but like what point guard is, you know what I'm saying? Like, what he gives you is what wins in a lot of NBA games in 2021. You see a kid like quitting Grimes today who could show out and I think there's a section of NBA fandom that are like, all right, if we're gonna be losing games, at least let's see the things that we got. The guys that we drafted or the guys that we believe you believe in, work it out. And almost every in almost every instance that they've done that, they've either shown that they can really play on bay level or they've won. And the last time I think they did that was against the Atlanta Hawks, where that felt like that felt like a win that would have turned most seasons around. But for some reason, you know what I mean? Those young kids who really got them playing well, they didn't get that burn again, you know what I'm saying? And again, from the top, Julius Randle not playing as well as he had last year. I mean, he's still effective, but..

"I think part of it was to, like, that last preceding game, he looked really, really good and I got nationally like, I think I might have submitted my 6th man of the year ballot at that point. And early return. Not that anyone off that self expansion was particularly great last night, besides Romeo. Obviously, but soon enough grant in the way you would shoot him at the end of the break Asians like I was kind of like, okay, I don't know what you're done to earn those minutes and over time, but I get it, I guess. Yeah, you know, and I guess I was okay with it because when you don't have L and you're trying to determine who your best 5 hour at that point and you're playing a team that goes small, I was okay with it. I understood it, and you probably thinking, if anyone, you know, he's probably got better legs at that point than grant and even slim down version. But yeah, it just wasn't for whatever reason it wasn't through it. It wasn't the right call in that situation. Maybe it's a new point because normally you'll probably be out or if you go small, maybe it's Al or rob out there and maybe I don't know. You know, and that's the fascinating part of that. I don't know quite what to draw from one game and we're going to need to see more of it, but yeah, the fact that he's got emails confidence early is probably an encouraging sign, but it needs to be just a little bit more crisp in that situation. And I'll take my 6 man of the year ballot back together when he has a good team and does well. All right, well, let's get to email delga in a second because I think that was a very interesting day for them, but first, Chris, we have to guess what? This is winning players. Are we betting?.

"Arm their way to the knicks someday and so the most important thing is just build on what happened last season and they've managed to do that without hamstring in their cap. I love the kemba move for a couple of reasons first of all. I just think that he is going to succeed there. I understand the size issues and when they get to the playoffs and the defense and all of that stuff. But i do think that team is set up for him to do well and also remember when you're talking about drawing those agents eck part of it that you're selling is msg right. The atmosphere the fans. Msg wasn't very fun place to play if you were the home team for a while there right. He of fans more coming to see the opponent than they were. See the team. There wasn't that excitement. We saw that excitement return to the garden. This past season and with kemba walker. Man it is going to be off the chain and then in turn you can sell to other free agents that in turn you can say to guys look at the gardens like when it gets rocket. Imagine if they were cheering like that for you. And i go ahead. And he has a two syllable first name and last name so that that's cambe why her that's gonna be loud and an amazing an msg and if it's too need skills that they need he really does and just one of the nicest guys in the league right so the idea that he gets to come home and the situation. That's so comfortable to him. I think everyone around the mba is just happy kemba and happy for this fit. I do want to get to the team. That eliminated new york in the playoffs. "Year jalen. We don't have many quarterback competitions in the nfl but there is one in san francisco and here is the forty niners gm. John lynch on the competition between jimmy. You know him being here. I think is brought the best out of jimmy garoppolo. Jimmy's a A big time competitor and You know we haven't played a game yet but it's playing his best football since he's been here and he's played a lot of good football. You just look at his record. It's something everyone's recognized these really plan at a high level and that's what Competitors do when they're challenged they rise to the occasion and i think he's doing a great job of that people say well. What do you do if they're both playing great. That's a great nether. Great problem the half and we'll deal with that when it comes jalen. What do you think about the future of the quarterback position in san francisco. What afforded nine is shown as that is now gonna be garoppolo now as a veteran however what you do is you show up and you perform your best. You continue to earn respect of your teammates. You keep your value high because when you leave the forty niners you want it to be. Because somebody's recruiting you to be their starting quarterback we all know they drafted trae lance to be the starter and clearly is not likely to happen week one. But it's going to happen at some point and we're not going to be surprised. Jimmy garoppolo has had such an interesting journey in the nfl. Who's a backup for brady. And then he came in for brady brady was injured in played well and then got a big deal with the forty niners went to the super bowl but all of a sudden it seems like they're trying to replace jimmy garoppolo. Every single week in san francisco and we will see at what point trae lance eventually replaces and where jimmy goes from there. We go from there. Who knows but we will be back right after this very short break. Stay tuned in jacoby jammed. Summer league basketball is already upon us tonight. At eight pm we had the raptors warriors and then at ten pm. It is the knicks against the lakers. Obviously the knicks lakers is a finals. Preview is kobe. Gotta give a shout out to bury obama. "knicks" Discussed on Jalen and Jacoby
"Live above. Pierce seventeen and the heineken. Rubberduck here in new york city. Welcome back to jalen and jacoby jalen. Anthony rose there's been so many free agent signings and so many teams have remixed. Rousers that this one almost got overlooked but steph curry of the golden state warriors signed four year. Two hundred fifteen million jalen. We always say that happiness is a function of realistic. What are realistic expectations for steph. And these warriors next year. How about this team being built through the draft with mark jackson as their head coach. And i'm disappointed. He's been white ball from the league. Sissy sawed them draft steph and clay and draymond and you know coincidentally help them build their dynasty were they can visually at people. Like katie is steph had injuries earlier in his career so based on being an mvp level player he wasn't making that kinda money initially and so now you fast forward. He's the only guy in the history of the lee. the signed soon. Two hundred plus million dollar deals and so now you look at their squad right. You get the splash brothers. And dre mom back. You need one of your young players to become a star. Is it gonna be wisely moody. Is it going to be commingled. And then you decide if you're gonna keep that player along with the guy like wiggins for example or you got to move them four and established player so it's gonna be interesting to see how they play these next four years and this year is going to be a proving grounds to uplift each of those guys. I mentioned value so then naked. Decide how they're going to try to go for that next. I didn't look at the warriors last year. And say this team klay thompson away from contending for the western conference championship. However you mentioned they've got wiggins they've got watchmen. Dave guy young players. Dave got a mix of assets. That would be very desirable for another team to dig kind of cash in to pair with thomson and curry. But one thing that i know that you care about is currently get misogyny. He's jeff. I might as well as playing in the game. No doubt about it and this is the beauty of the league. Were god-like steph. Can not.

"I'm david jacoby we are. What is that we do what they say we have a lot of. Mba news to get to but we start with the hometown. New york knicks kemba. Walker jalen rose. They've got forty a walker. They basically got boston's back from last year. And it's a dicey max. I do not like this. What about book. It's on buckets on bucket. They're trying to make sure they have for you when you go to the garden and you take questions to a game. You don't want you to look up at. The score. And tom has a team plans. So tough isn't a mud. Julius randle has twenty five or thirty points and everybody else has twelve less. And less until de rose gets going in the fourth quarter. Giving you some buckets dot evan. Forty eight buckets. He's a twenty point score. Give a walker bucket your mix. I'm telling you they're going to be in the lower part of the eastern conference jacoby. Okay they gotta get some people that can score the ball. If you can't get high physicality you gotta get scoring off the dribble. And that's where they seem to be investigated in live already. Invested in rj barrett. They've already got a menu who they've got derrick rose. They didn't need new faces in the back court. Why did they do this. That means that like harris one. They're not done they're not done. They're not done like it's so easy to see these moves. Initially when they happen a question why they're taking place people was doing this report. Zing got traded your remember that porzingis got traded people felt like all doom and gloom in new york city. They'll never respond on. My god loves the unicorn and all of a sudden advocate julius randle. I'm not necessarily.
