"In Kitty corner and I am here McGee marsh northern Ohio and he is two thousand seventeen in the month of may this is the annual birding trip to McGee marsh and the podcast to go with it before I get started I wanted to address something that it's bothering me a little bit it's about a note from one of our listeners about my co host bill form and it was an email I got I don't really think it was fair but well I want bill to have his input on it too so let's see what bill thinks about it just a second call Bill on speaker phone calling he will see what bill thinks about this in just a second okay all bill it's Bob Turk host of what were you thinking how are you doing today see listen I'm here as you know it McGee marsh and doing our annual podcast from McGhee March in I got a little a little concerned about an email from one of our listeners and I wanted to share with you I I just don't feel good yeah we got an email and I just am not comfortable with the content and I thought well it's regarding you frankly and and I just want to listen to what this person said dear what were you thinking I generally enjoy the show but I question build homes commitment lately on what were you thinking it seems like he's just phoning it in I've never heard anything isn't that isn't it is crazy just just man man this is a shocker I know yeah your how much you put into this thing I personally put into this thing I know I know it in it's funny but you know all the it seems like the more work we put into the show you know we do at least one episode a year maybe last and and we are just not getting the respect that we talked about this a little bit in our last show but we are just not getting the respect and consideration that we deserve I mean that that comment right there is is really you know testimony to that I cannot believe it you know what I mean experts we have a lot of knowledge we want to share with our listeners we do a lot of yeah so I'm thinking I'm thinking that maybe this should be our first annual McGee marsh listener depreciation show what do you think of that two can play at this game at all so we're you said eighty nine amiss so it was someone who was hiding behind hiding behind this they're pretty clever pseudonym of a non amiss a pretty clever it had me going for awhile because I started thinking is that a Greek you know it was there Andrea populace synonymous or something you know then I got it to you know some people just a little too clever for their own good choice really so there's no stores no actual name no he nine holes yeah okay well that that's all I can yeah so maybe our listeners may have noticed that we're doing something a little bit different for this episode that is that I am recording you from my brand new square iPhone you haven't picked up on this new iPhone said the bill it's the iPhone I sauce lease she was there a curse yeah yeah it's perfectly square and I think it's named after the Greek I don't know if it was I saw sleaze a Greek god I think like like like impervious year I think maybe I was his brother or is that he was a philosopher maybe a philosopher yeah he could be is still a good could be so anyway what I'm doing is this is kind of tricky is that I got my brand new I saw sleaze square iPhone and I have a kind of pressed up against the recorder but I don't wanna make any clicking sounds or bump it you know while because you know I don't want our listeners to have to be inconvenient so I have a little sponge I have a little piece of sponge I have a little a sponge between my square iPhone in the recorder to kind of hold it in the right place and dampen any clicking and I called at the sponge Bob square phone the sponge for Bob square phone the sponge for Bob squarer phone yes I I I wonder how many of our listeners had saw that one coming but you know I I talk about our listeners but as far as I know we have maybe as many as four okay okay so let's let's try maybe we can guess who sent this derogatory email I don't think it's our only fan and that would be Laura she's the only one who is really frankly on hinged enough to repeatedly I mean you know it's one thing we we do expect people to listen to our shows but it's I think it's something to repeatedly listen to the show that I don't think that's a sign of any kind of mental health to you considering the fact or law Ali listening I really really what is is a complimentary term that means that that seems open minded open door yeah yeah yeah and then other than that we have a Brian who lives in Washington DC but I believe Brian only skim listens yes yes yes yes and then we have go ahead could be it could be and then we have someone whose name is Christina who I'm not allowed to mention her first name and I know she listen to a couple episodes and then other than that we had somebody name Keren from several years ago but I haven't heard from her so I don't know I don't know maybe maybe we picked up a a new disgruntled listener I just don't know yeah it does seem unlikely but anyway you know either way either way if you were from mark any reducer any ratings figures for this cast no I have not Hey I have not heard anything and we've really been pushing it I I think we might even have to show is this year right well I go no no I I don't remember either but yeah no I haven't heard any readings they just all have to find out maybe you know maybe maybe we can narrow it down if he's up to six or seven or something like that I I I don't know I mean doing this all along this was stilled momentarily right I mean I mean we we we work so hard general public lovers thing it's also possible that there is the actual effort going on to keep listeners from our show so maybe I don't I don't want to be to conspiracy minded but maybe there's a little jealousy over at pet life radio about the artistic success of our show and it's being buried often times things that aren't yours your full access to you can check off while to build up you know that moment right records show resentful this is to sabotage no it maybe in another one of the hosts I don't know I don't know I don't want to I don't want to speculate too much but I do have to say that our listeners just are not coming to our defense they're not rallying behind us and they're certainly not giving you saying you phone it in they're not giving you the respect you deserve yeah all it is no tried it hi this all were over experts I know well listen we're getting close to the halfway mark and I haven't mentioned yet what the burning has been like so far it McGee Marcia because you've been along with me the whole time we've been in Skype face time the whole it's kind of a combination between Skype and facetime so you've been with me the whole time and we will talk about how the burning has gone so far but I do want why do I tell you you know a little bit a news from my home town aloul but did did you have something on well I I I had something Sir remarkable happened yesterday when I was walking the streets of downtown a lowlight my hands in my pocket and I was feeling kind of down cast as figuring I was the unluckiest man in the world and then you know what I saw I saw this guy laying with his face down in the gutter and there was a crowd around him you know I could yeah and I got a guy use laying it with his face down in the gutter and there's a car around him you know and you don't seem to be helping him shameful it is simple so you know what I did I what I walked up to I'm in I handed him a piece of gum and he already he already had a stack so he was able to get their quarter hour the sewer and we split it yeah so happy happy ending her happy ending to that story and speaking of Lowell my you know you don't hear a lot of praise for doctors because of yellow healthcare debacle with you know trump care and all this stuff but my doctor in Lowell single handedly just with one sweep he single handedly made a fifty percent improvement in the health care the population of low last week singles singles thing action he improved the health care law by fifty percent he resigned I had to go in there you can probably tell that on my drive down to McGee Myers I was listening to Fibber McGee and Molly bad dad they were both of those came from yeah yeah what what do you think you get enough batteries in your phone to do the second half of the show still okay all right so my sponges get a little wet but I I think it's going to do okay so let's take a break and give our listeners time to compose an email of apology to you in an email of praise to me what you think about that appropriate I expect them to be pouring in so we will be right back with more of what were you thinking.

I usually would get a sense of pride whenever John Belushi would drop it on occasion. Yeah. No. I was surprised to trust me. I mean, I was incredibly surprised when I found out that the word originated in Pittsburgh. I mean, it's it's you can look it up. So yeah. But yeah, I was shocked because for for years I've had regional pride about about that word because I love that word so much and it's used so frequently here in Chicago. But it's it's Pittsburgh. So. Let's see it one five area code. Hey, nick. And all what about Wicha as in? I'll go with you to the bar. That's good. I'll go Wicha in spelled that this is a happy new year from sandy in Woodstock, Illinois. She spells it w h. I see why a h. Witcher go which at a bar. Some of these things do sound it make a sound like a idiots though. But we're not this is just the the unique way of talking. I think. How about this one drill? A dark hardcore iteration of hip hop that developed in Inglewood prominent drill artists include chief kief little Dirk little reason. King louis. Lyrics were frequently about street life, including dishes of rival gang members that have led to retaliatory shootouts. He was coined by pay was coined by pacman a rapper who was shot to death in two thousand ten. Drill. I guess I'm not familiar. I've never heard that one before. But I'm I guess I'm not familiar with the local hip hop scene here. Yeah. I I haven't heard that term either..
