A highlight from Time Travel to 1994: A Journey into the Music and Movies of that year.

"Well, here we are, episode 119. And on this episode, myself in the wrecking tube, Mark Smith and Lou Colicchio from the Music Relish Show. We'll be talking about the year 1994, in music and movies I think, it's always interesting. So sit back, relax, break out your flannel shirt, your grungy jeans, and enjoy 1994 music. It was an interesting year, so I think you'll enjoy it. More interesting than what Todd Zauchman thinks it is. He thinks it's nothing, so we'll see. The KLFB studio presents Milk Crate and Turntables, a music discussion podcast hosted by Scott McLean. Now, let's talk music, enjoy the show. Thank you, Amanda, for that wonderful introduction, as usual. Welcome back, my friends, to the show that never ends, and welcome to the podcast. You know the name, I'm not gonna say it. We're streaming live right now over Facebook, YouTube, Dlive, Twitch, and X, formerly known as Twitter, and I don't know how many other live platforms. Well, it's gonna be a good show tonight. It's gonna be an interesting show tonight. Yeah, 1994. As I said in the intro, my friend Todd Zauchman just absolutely sent me a text destroying the year 1994. Oh, I just looked up 1994, I don't know what you're gonna talk about, there's a few things and I don't know how you're gonna make a whole show out of it, and good luck with that, because that's how he talks. That's exactly how he talks. I'm just gonna do this, and you know, it's not gonna be a good, blah, blah, blah, blah. That's how he talks. Now, he'll deny that, and you'll never know if that's the way he talks or not. He'll just have to take my word for it. I'm Todd Zauchman, and I don't know about 1994. Well, enough about him. He'll probably be piping in pretty soon, but yeah, 1994, it's a good year. It was a good year for Mark Smith from the Music Rellers Show and Luke Colicchio from the Music Rellers Show. That's for damn sure. It was. What's up, gentlemen? It was a really good year. How you doing? I was just guessing. I figured for 94, listen, we were all younger, so it was better. It was a big year. Hey. So I have to stop right here. Dave Phillips, who's been watching the podcast from pretty much day one, Patty Yossi. Hi, Patty. Good evening. I love you. Dave Phillips, for the last couple of weeks, he's piped in at the end, and he's like, I missed it. Like something's changed. Ah, Tiffany Van Hill. That's my buddy. That's my buddy, Tiffany. She's one of the people that teaches me how to work with horses. Oh. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So. And she knows what she's talking about. She's modest, but she's very good at what she does. As are all of my friends and teachers, trainers, mentors from The Herd Foundation in Delray Beach, Florida. It's a nonprofit if you're in the mood to donate today. Look them up. Herd Foundation. Give us some money. Nah, I'm not going like that. No. No, we do. We help veterans. We help veterans, and so it's a good cause. But back to Tiffany. Yep. That's my buddy. Good evening. The Herd Foundation teaches us so much. That's right. That's right. Maybe I'll do a Herd Foundation podcast. You should. Since I'm pretty good at it. You're going to have horses on? What's the horse named after the cookie? Huh? Isn't there a horse named after a cookie? What are some of the horses' names? Oh, Fig Newton. Fig Newton. Yeah. Fig Newton. That's my boy. That's my boy. Good looking horse. Yes. Yes, he is. And we have Stitch. Fig Newton is a retired dressage horse, dancing horse, right? Echoes of Echo and the Bunny Men bring on the dancing horses. We have Stitch. He's a retired racehorse. We have Miss America. She's a retired jumper. Then we have two mini horses. We have Cinnamon. She was a cot horse. You know, pulls the kids around. As would be Sammy. Sammy's the one that looks like Kaja Gugu for you people from the 80s. Looks like Lamal. It looks like Lamal from Kaja Gugu. Gotta do. And he was saved from a kill pen. Yeah. But he's a mini, but he thinks he's a Clydesdale. What do they do with horses after that? Is that the proverbial glue factory? All right. You know what? Right away. Penalty box. Oh. He's raining on my parade. I'm in a good mood. Now I'm all bummed out. Thanks. You feel sad for the drummer now. This is going to be a horrible show now. Leave it to the drummer. Right, Mark? Leave it to the drummer. Get out. It's always the drummer's fault. That's right. See, Tiffany says, that does not exist past our gates, Lou. Because nobody wants to talk. Back to the penalty box. Great start to the show. Lou is just in a mood tonight. I think he's been hitting the whistle. What's going to happen? You're going to come back and it's going to be an empty chair. He's very ornery tonight. Right away. He's very ornery. All right. He's filling his oats, as they would say. Yeah. All right. Lou's back. I'm all right. I'm all right. Okay. Enough about horses, although I could now, at this point, talk about horses for two hours. I love it. I love it. But instead, gentlemen, first of all, how's things on the music relish show? You. Take it away, Lou. Sure. It's fine. It was such an awful show. I thought I said the wrong show for a second there. It's been nothing short of amazing. Don't jump over each other to answer that question. It's always fun. Last week was fun. We got knocked down a bit by Warner Brothers because we played a clip of an America song featuring Dan Peake. Yeah. You're going to watch that. Yeah. We talked through the whole thing, but Spotify is much cooler than YouTube. YouTube sucks like that. YouTube, they have a very strong algorithm. They can kiss my rosy red ass over that. That's right. You tell them, Lou. Fuckers. That's right. Get me kicked off YouTube. That's right. Let me see. John Morris, he was our shift commander. When I met him, I was, I think, a two striper, and he was what they called a butterbot. He was a second lieutenant, I believe. He said, tell them stories from the Nipah Hut in the Philippines. That's a big no. That's a whole other podcast, but they would never make it on the air. Just leave it at that. It's like a chain of Nipah Huts? No. It was a bar slash club called the Nipah Hut. Tell one story. No. They had a giant spaceship that would come down from the top. It's kind of like George Clinton in parliament. At the end of the show, this big spaceship came down from the top. Smoke. Like you said, parliament fucking pelican. Then the thing went open, and everyone would walk up and get up on stage, all those drunk GIs. Like, yeah, I'm going in the spaceship, and you go down these stairs, and you're in a fucking basement. I don't think it was a basement. It's like something from a fucking horror movie. How do you get out? And then somebody goes, this way, this way, go, go, go, go. That's the cleanest story I can tell you. It's the cleanest story I can tell you. Sounds like fun. It was a lot of fun. It was a lot of fun. I got a story for you off the air one of these days. So okay, music relish show's going good. Excellent. I just wanted to say, Lou brought up, he made the show. His segment on bad love songs. That will go down in history as some of the best podcasting ever. Bad love songs? Really bad love songs. The worst love songs of all time, like in rock. It's a deep vein. Is that something, is that like content I could probably like borrow with Perry Mind? Because I'd love to hear that list someday. We voted him off the board. We're no longer a false triumvirate democracy. Wait a minute. We toppled the AI monarchy. There's three of us on this one. Are you two going to overthrow me too? Are you like rebels? None of those stories you're told, no. They're wrecking too. Instead I'll start calling you the Sandinistas. The hostile takeovers. You go on podcasts just to take them over? Like Amiens took over the White House. Really, yeah. Yeah, we could do that. I would love to. Maybe next week we'll do, we'll take a break from the years and we'll do like a, kind of a jambalaya, you know, of stuff. Like throw some music news in there. We'll do some trivia. Maybe I'll come up with some questions for you guys. You could give us that deep vein of worst love songs ever. And it's funny, we noticed that several of them made everyone's list of worst love songs. So it's got to be universally bad. Okay. If everyone said that, that fucking song. Then there were a couple where I said I liked the song, but Lou and Perry were like, what? I'm always, you know, on the one side. Yeah, the one. When it falls into like that kind of metal, metal category, you have a soft spot. Air metal. Metal ballads. Oh my God. How I grew up. Yeah, yeah. As young as Ron Mark, you didn't have to deal with those 70s ones. Yeah, that's true. I did. This fucking guy. Blah. See what I mean? He's setting the bar high. Remember, this is how he talks. I don't think there's anything good about 1994. Blah. So he talks like Arnold Schwarzenegger. Yeah, well, an American Arnold Schwarzenegger. He talks like Arnold Schwarzenegger without the accent. We're going to pass the bar on this one. I am here. Let me see if you can entertain me. 1994. Blah. All right. So let's actually get right into 1994. Yeah. So we'll start on January 19th, 1994. Bryan Adams becomes the first major Western music star to perform in Vietnam since the end of the Vietnam War. Oh, shit. Bryan Adams. Bryan Adams, yeah. Wow. On January 21st to February, as it's spelled, the Big Day Out Festival takes place, again, expanding from those previous years. Blah, blah, blah. Auckland, New Zealand. The festival is headlined by Soundgarden, Ramones, and Bjork. Nice. That's an interesting... Probably each night there were headlines. I would love to see Bjork. Me too. I would never want to see the Ramones. They'll never get back together again. Unless they perform in the Pet Sematary. Yeah. Hey, Lou, can you put him in the green room? No, I'd like that one. That's a good one. Come on, there's a little crossover. Put him in the green room. Put him in the green room. Okay, yeah, yeah. Oh, it's going to be a long show. It's going to be a long one tonight. I feel better about myself now. Got a little redemption? The redemption song? Yes. I got a Buffett story for you. Oh, yeah? His one song was The Pirate Looks at 40. He would segue into Bob Marley's redemption song. Oh, jeez. And it didn't quite... Wait a minute. Buddy, that is the quickest way to get to the penalty box. I'm not playing it, though. I know you're not. You're poking the rhino right now. I'm a guitarist. You're poking the rhino right now. You're not a rhino, you're a nice guy. Come on, we went through that last week. And so, as I've been saying each week, I'm just going to say right now, where's Jack? Okay, and we'll move on from that. Hey, Jack. Hey, Jack, please come back. He didn't listen before, so I don't think he's listening now. Let's see. January 25th, Alice in Chains released their Jar of Flies album, which makes its U .S. chart debut at number one on the Billboard 200, becoming the first ever EP to do that. Right? But they still are always talked about as like number three or number four out of the big four. Big four being? Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden. And Alice in Chains. Alice in Chains is never getting that kind of... Whereas... That first album, the record company made them sound like another band. Yeah. And that's not their fault. They were produced that way. Dirt was a great album. Yes, yes. And Layne Staley was one of the greatest frontmen ever. Just as cool as the other side of the pillow, as they say. Yeah. voice Very unique also. Today we were talking about what we were going to talk about in the show. And he goes, when I saw the videos, he goes, I didn't match his face with the way he looked. Right? He said he was expecting like a grungy, more... No, he was slick. He was slick. In the Man in the Box video, he's got the kind of long... But then he changed it up. He slicked the hair back, he wore the shades, you know. Just turned into a... Suzanne McPhail. Another one of my horse people. She's the one that introduced me to that whole thing. And she said, who's Jack? That's right, I guess. At this point. On January 29th, The Supremes' Mary Wilson is injured when her Jeep hits a freeway median and flips over just outside of LA. Wilson's 14 -year -old son is killed in the accident. What a good day. Ah, this fucking... I saw this and I was like... Dead horses was a bummer. I know, I know. I saw this and I'm like, there's no way around this. February 1st, Green Day releases their breakthrough album, Dookie. Ushering in the mid -1990s punk revival. Dookie eventually achieves diamond certification. Now, I did like them back then. I actually did. I was stationed in Southern California in Riverside. And I decided to get like a side job. You know, I was in the Air Force. But I was like, I want to make a little more money. I want to do something. So I got a job at a record store. Cool. Was it Spencer's or something? Forget the name of it. Oh, Spencer's. They sold all the trinkets, too. No, no, it wasn't Spencer's then. It was something like that. It was a chain. Hot topic. They sold DVDs, too. FYE. No, it wasn't that. I'll remember it. I was working there when Dookie came out and the fucking whole wall was covered with Dookie CDs and they were flying off the shelves. It had a pretty fresh sound. It was fresh then. And coming off the 80s were kind of slick in a lot of ways, except for some of the real heavy alternative. But to hear a song like that on the radio, that was like hearing Smells Like Teen Spirit on mainstream rock radio. Good drummer, too. As a band, whether you like him or not, I think he's really good. Billy Joe Armstrong. Oh, Trey Cool. Trey Cool, yeah. February 7th, Blind Melons lead singer is Shannon Poon forced to leave the American Music Awards ceremony because he is loud and disruptive behavior. Poon is later charged with battery assault, resisting arrest, and destroying a police station telephone. Now, this is the dude that sang, you know, And I don't really care if I sleep all day And he's in the daisy field, so you think he's like this really, like, chill dude. And like, you know, me and the B -girl, man, you know. The B -girl, yes. And the tap -dancing B -girl, and like, I'm just this dude's a fucking lunatic. He was taking substances that made him. Oh, yeah. That was a short career. Was it him that did a duet with Guns N' Roses? What was the video, a song from Guns N' Roses with a video where they're up on like a water tower and they jump into the water or something. I forget what it was called. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe they did it with him.

If you're listening on a podcast platform such as Spotify, Apple or Google, please leave a 5 star rating and review. It supports the podcast and it doesn't cost you anything. Well, folks, as you all may know, Gary Gensler testified before the House Financial Services Committee today. He got grilled. He got a lot of pressure questions and things that he was shaking and unable to answer. It's the same old nonsense. And I'm sure many of you saw the clips, so I'm not going to play a whole bunch of clips for you, but I'm going to give you the big takeaways. What can we expect next? And McHenry, Patrick out of the gate, started grilling Gary Gensler. He asked him, is Bitcoin a security? And Gary was like stumbling, like he couldn't even answer it. And of course, you know, Patrick McHenry was like, what are you doing, man? I'm giving you softball questions. You can't answer me. Is Bitcoin a security? So Gary Gensler continued his clown show. This guy's a scumbag regulator, as I've been saying for a long time, and needs to be fired. But the big takeaway from what Patrick McHenry said, folks, he threatened Gary Gensler and said, don't make me have to send a subpoena. And he highlighted that Gary has not sent documents about FTX. He highlighted Gary's losses in court and much more. So I think the next step, you know, I haven't seen this level of threat about a subpoena from these folks. So I think we're getting there, folks. And I'm actually going to be interviewing Congressman Warren Davidson, who also did a great job grilling Gary tomorrow. And he's going to I'm going to ask him about the subpoena and what are the next steps. And of course, he highlighted his SEC Stabilization Act, which essentially fires Gary Gensler and replaces that chair seat, adds another commissioner and an executive director. So it makes the SEC less political and more balanced. And he has some great questions to Gary. You know, he even alluded to the EITH Ethereum free pass. Some of you may have seen the clip. So he did a great job. And once again, I'm interviewing him tomorrow. So be sure you're subscribed on the podcast as well as the YouTube channel. And Tom Emmer also brought some heat on Gary Gensler saying, I'm convinced you are not an impartial regulator. And he went on and did a press conference about this. And Gary Gensler is a bureaucrat who does not answer to Congress and much more. So, you know, similar types of comments that we've seen historically. But I think the subpoena threat was the big takeaway for me. The other stuff was, you could argue, was said historically and said before and other hearings with Gary Gensler. Now, Democrat Richie Torres did a great job of talking to Gary and getting specific, like he highlighted, is buying a Pokemon card a security? Gary said no. So he said, well, what if that Pokemon card got tokenized on the blockchain? It's a den of security. And that's where Gary was going back and forth and saying he needs more details and yada, yada. But great questions by Representative Richie Torres, very laser targeted in detail where Gary is just like caught off guard and he's trying to dodge the questions. So Gary continues to get exposed. And I like what happened today. I think the clips and all the news that are coming out of it, while they may not be very much actionable, where Gary is getting kicked out tomorrow, right? They do paint Gary Gensler in a very bad light. And remember, I've said many times, a lot of politics is simply optics. And if you have bipartisan support against Gary Gensler, that's not good. He's not going to be in that seat for very long. So it's great to see Democrats coming out against Gary Gensler. Now, quick word from our sponsor folks, and that is Uphold, which makes crypto investing easy. I've been a user of Uphold since twenty eighteen. They have ten plus million users, two hundred and fifty plus crypto currencies, and they're available in one hundred and fifty countries. You can also trade precious metals and equities on Uphold. If you'd like to learn more, please visit the link in the description. Also, a great comment from Representative Andy Barr to Gary Gensler on capital markets. He said, if the U .S. capital markets are a gold medalist, you are the Tonya Harding of securities regulation because you are kneecapping the United States capital markets with the avalanche of red tape coming out of your commission. Wow. That is a pretty strong remark there. Many of you know about the Tonya Harding story. If you don't look it up, Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harden and someone who was sitting behind Gary Gensler started flashing the Coinbase stand with crypto NFT shield. Many of you have seen that. And someone also highlighted the stand with crypto logo on a piece of paper. So this is similar to what happened with the guy who did the buy Bitcoin behind Janet Yellen years ago. So they put this right behind Gary. So it's pretty funny. This is another one that's going to go in the record books. And on that note, the SEC did acknowledge that the 1 .5 trillion dollar asset manager, Franklin Templeton, spot Bitcoin ETF application. Now, that doesn't mean anything because we need an approval. But things are moving ahead for these new applicants. Now, as all this was happening, guess who was in D .C.? Brian Armstrong and the Coinbase folks. Pretty incredible. And they did this whole campaign where they're at the Hill and a Brian Armstrong tweet out here at our nation's capital for a stand with crypto day with 40 founders from across the country. It's time for America to join the rest of the G20 and get some clear rules on the books. So great move here by Coinbase because the juxtaposition of what Gary is saying and what a big publicly traded crypto company is doing with a whole bunch of founders in D .C., educating and providing advocacy is really, really great. So I love this. And you hear you see Brian posted some photos, he said a great meeting with Speaker Pelosi. Now, all feelings about Nancy Pelosi aside, this she's a Democrat, folks, and I think this is a very smart move, Brian. Very, very smart move, because today even Maxine Waters was praising Gary Gensler. Oh, he's the knight in shining armor. And Gary, you know, you've been doing your thing, protecting Americans from these crypto scammers. Right. So remember, just like two years ago, she was hugging up FTX saying she loves Sam Beckman Fried, blowing kisses, taking campaign donations from FTX. So she's can be bought and sold right pretty easily. And I really like this. Coinbase is playing chess here while Gary Gensler is getting grilled. I love it, love it, love it. And they took a whole bunch of photos here at the Capitol Hill. So smart move by Brian. Really, really smart move. Now, finally, Kraken sets sight on stock trading. So Kraken, the crypto exchange, they're looking to expand their services. And, you know, this makes sense. If you're ordering already an exchange where you sell crypto, you can easily move to stocks. And then I know some other folks have been looking to tokenize stocks and sell those. So this is a pretty big move. And we're going to see that these crypto exchanges are going to expand to other markets. And with the advent of tokenization, you know, they're going to tokenize a lot of the traditional financial markets and assets and commodities and much more. And allow people to easily get access to them globally, 24 seven trading and much more. So obviously this would put them up against like Robinhood, essentially right where you have stocks and you've got crypto in the mix. So I think it absolutely makes sense. Well, folks, that's the news. Let me know what you think. What did you think about Gary today in the hearing? And once again, I'll be interviewing Congressman Warren Davidson tomorrow. So be sure to check out that interview once it's published on Friday. And I'll talk to you all later.

A highlight from Finding Healing and Community to Enrich Your Sexual Experience and Identity with Erika Alsborn

"Welcome back to season two of Energetically You, where we talk all things healthy habits, abundant mindset and optimal wellness. I'm your host, Meghan Swann, a mindset and wellness coach. I love helping women optimize their wellness through plant based nutrition, movement, mindfulness and mindset practices, that having them feel more aligned with who they truly are and confident in their own skin. I'm the creator of the Sustainable Integrated Wellness approach. I am also living in Mexico and I have been for the last 12 years. At 30, I sold everything and went on my own eat, pray, love journey, if you will. And now at 42, I'm still on my first stop, loving life and feeling more empowered than ever before. This podcast is for incredible humans who are interested in feeling more aligned with who they truly are, confident in their own skin and able to make more empowered decisions for themselves going forward in the future. So let's dive in. So excited for this interview. So excited. In fact, I'm up at five in the morning. This is the only time that Erika, who is in Sweden, could meet. But I am so excited. She is a new friend. We'll get into it in our interview. But Erika is an international sex and birth coach from Sweden. For the past decade, she has immersed herself in exploring the body, mind and sexuality from many different angles and approaches. The academic, the medical, the spiritual and the holistic. Her own sexual healing journey inspired her career shift from nursing to becoming a sex coach and entrepreneur. In 2019, she gave birth to her first child, and through that experience, realized how transformative childbirth is and can be, and is now dedicated to shifting the current narrative around birth, helping women to have positive, empowered and ecstatic birth experiences. So, so excited to dive into all of that. Welcome, Erika. I am so excited to have you here today and to get to know you better, really from a selfish point of view. I've followed your work for six plus months. I love everything that you are putting out into the world and sharing. And I just registered for your shameless course, Mastermind. I don't know what's the best defining. And, you know, it was it was a bit of a leap for me. Really excited. And I want to get to know, like your whole journey to where you are today. And I know that a bigger part of it is is the birthing coach. So let's dive into both parts. First of all, how are you? Welcome. Hi, Megan. Yes, I'm happy that you found me, obviously, super delighted that you have joined this amazing program of mine. And and yeah, I'm so happy to be on this podcast and share about this near and dear topic of mine, which has kind of surprisingly, which kind of surprisingly, you know, went from being my biggest obstacle in my life and then turned into the greatest teacher, which, well, I guess it's not that surprising. As you do. Right. Take us back. You were you were a nurse and, you know, that's a really powerful, amazing career in itself. And like, was there sort of like one defining moment that you can point to where you thought I'm going to be a sex coach, not a nurse anymore, or was it much slower and kind of like a part time thing that you secretly did on the side and then eventually made it into your main passion? There are kind of two lanes or two parallel sort of journeys that then crossed and combined and became the one. And so one journey is if we go way back to when I was a kid, I was masturbating from a pretty young age, as one does. When before, you know that it's called masturbation. And before someone tells you that it's inappropriate or you don't do it outside of the house or whatever. Exactly. Or you realize that not everyone else is touching their genitals all the time and like, what's wrong with you? OK, they don't do it. So probably something's wrong with me. I better stop. Right. Yeah. So as a kid, in that kind of innocent, shameless way, exploring my body and, you know, the delights of my body and all of that, and then growing a little bit older and like before puberty filled with, for lack of a better word, like horniness as a preteen, like everything's so exciting and you're starting to feel attracted to people. And it's like you're getting all lit up when you see people kissing on TV and like, you know, excited when there are any sex scenes and all that juicy stuff. And then little by little, what instead started to happen inside of me was I was coming up against all of the negative messages. And mind you, I grew up in Sweden. I'm Swedish. I grew up in Sweden. So the messages are pretty mild in comparison to other countries, other societies, especially, you know, religious stuff for anti sex, religious stuff and dogma and all of that. But still, there were so many conflicting messages and I'm quite the sensitive person. And, you know, pair that with a with low self -esteem and lack of parental guidance and positive, like sex positive, authoritative figures, adult figures, role models. I started to, again, like feel like, OK, well, this is not safe and this is not normal and something's wrong with me. And boys are predators and I'm the I'm the prey and they're going to take something from me and slut shaming. And and then combined with some negative sexual experience at my sexual debut, it all just sort of went into like. yeah, Shit, like and so which I didn't realize, and then I performed sex for a long time, I was having sex, I was enjoying it. But mostly performing and faking orgasms because I just thought, you know, like that's the way one does it. Or at least that's what at least that's sort of the cards I've been dealt. And so suck it up like that's it. And then I became a nurse, obviously, there's a whatever desire, personality trait, something inside of me that want to help other people and find enjoyment in that. And I went down that route, but pretty quickly I realized that it wasn't really my thing. During my nursing degree, I had been sort of trying to get into the sexuality realm. I wrote my thesis on sexuality and there was an interest, but it was kind of the the it was as a nurse, you're limited. You cannot really work a lot with sexuality, at least not in a kind of positive, proactive guiding way. Then it's more like, here's a person with STD, take a blood sample. And I was like, that's super boring. I don't want to do nothing spiritual about that. No, nothing creative, nothing spiritual, nothing engaging. So I stumbled upon a sexuality, a sexology master's degree at the university here where I live in Sweden. And luckily, my nursing degree made me eligible to to apply and be accepted. So I started doing this sexuality. Academic sexuality training, and I quickly realized that this is pretty boring. Like, when are we going to talk about sex? Because we were there, you know, in class talking about all of the systemic and structure, structural things and and like beating around the bush. And I was constantly feeling like, when are we going to talk about sex? And how to have better sex and help someone have better sex and have their first orgasm or have all of the orgasms. And, you know, really much more with that kind of I had that focus. That was it became really clear to me that that was my interest, because that had truly been the journey and it was the journey that I was on. So simultaneously, as I kind of did that shift and started exploring and studying sexuality, I'd also found an online teacher. Who Tantra taught and holistic sexuality, and I was going through a massive personal and sexual healing and transformation journey, and it was really that that that made me realize that. Well, if if if I can understand that something is not innately wrong with me and that there are certain experiences and belief systems and. Habits and behaviors that have accumulated and contributed to me feeling like I can't access my orgasmic capacity and I can't really enjoy sex. And there are actually solutions to that, then surely there are thousands, millions of women out there who feel the same. And I don't want this to be a secret because I don't want them to feel as broken as I did. And so that kind of started accelerating me in that direction and propelled me forward towards. Thinking of sexuality as not just a personal journey, but also perhaps a professional career, and it was that experience that also made me feel like the psychology masters is great, intellectually elevating, thought provoking, great. But it's not giving me the tools to solve the problems that I have and that I want to help other women solve, so I enrolled in an online. Super comprehensive, extensive sex, love and relationship coaching program, and it was my jam, like juicy, practical, holistic, spiritual, academic, modern, like all of the things combined with a real focus on coaching, identifying issues and solving them through. Well, working holistically with sexuality and very practically, so. Yeah, it's been eight years since I first enrolled in that online course where I realized that I get to heal and thrive, and so it's been a very fascinating journey. And long story short, I've gone from pre -orgasmic, really sexually dissatisfied to multi -orgasmic and having the best sex of my life. And I keep saying that, oh, my God, that was the best orgasm of my life. Oh, my God, that was just the best sex of my life. And it just keeps getting better, which is something that you normally don't hear women say as they age and become mothers and wives and all of the things. Yeah, oh, my goodness. So so many follow up questions, but sorry. No, no, that's good. I, I feel like your your journey really points to the reality in many realms. Like mine was more specifically around going in moments of my life, trying to go the academic route of psychology and the same thing. Like I think it's important to have that background and that basis. But, you know, you can speak to this as well as a coach, you know, it's just so much more tactical and tangible, the coaching scenario more often than not, than going sort of like the traditional structure within the medical model route of solving things. And yeah, so that just makes me even more excited. I'll tell you, like random, random things that sold me on the course, like it really is you. I mean, I'm very excited about all of the modules. And they're like, honestly, there's a few modules that kind of scare me, but I thought, like, that's a good thing. But it was one, I'm in love with how you say body, how you pronounce body. Every time you say it, I'm just like, oh, my God, I love her. And you're not the first one to say that. Probably the only thing that stuck after living in Australia for two and a half years. That's what it is. Because it's like, it's like out of character of the rest of your accent. Anyway, it's awesome. So that and, you know, I very seriously considered, I'm like, you know, what about what maybe it would be so much more valuable to work one on one with you. But then as we got going through this, the process of you like sharing and giving so much value and then the sort of like mini the what was so intoxicating was the dynamic of working with other women in this this realm. And because I think, I don't know, this is this is my perception, but I'm guessing it's common where it seems kind of weird and intimidating. You know, like the first thing I did was six months ago, I did like a breast massage workshop and I'm like, oh, OK, so we're really going to sit on Zoom together and like be breast, you know, like bare breasted and massage. That that was a step for me. And at the same time, there was just something like really, really powerful that I would never have imagined about doing something like that, like a healing practice where you've been taught to have so much shame around even just having your breasts hanging out and do and like giving the whole group permission at the same time. I don't know if that resonates. Absolutely. I think it's so beautiful how you describe your journey with that and the that the confronting experience of like, what am I going to do this with other people? Isn't this something that we always only do behind closed doors and always pretend that we also don't never like never do it? We don't do it at all, because that's what like being modest and civilized mean. And here it's like the contrary, inviting you into a space like the workshop or in my course where you're going to be literally masturbating to my voice live with your sound and video off, because we don't do that, knowing that there are 8, 10, 15, 20 women doing the same spread out all across the world. Like, that's not your so powerful it seems like in one box, it's like, oh, my God, that's so fucking crazy. And then another box, it's like it's so powerful and epic. And yeah, anyway, I'm excited. The and what happens is just like you said, you know, after when you when you're in that experience and once you just meet that confronting, like, this is weird, what the fuck? And then you get over it and like, OK, this is this is what we're doing here. And then all of a sudden what happens is, is that you feel like this is the most normal thing ever. This is the most healing thing ever. I can't believe I've never done this before, or I can't believe it actually feels so natural. And natural is not a word that I normally like to use because what is natural, but the loaded word, it is a very loaded word. But it it actually feels after after a while of doing it. And I've even done this in person, in person retreats with 50 women naked on the floor, some with sarongs on top of their genitals, some butt naked, masturbating with fingers and tools inside of themselves and doing like really amazing, tantric sexual practices in person. Everyone having their solo experience. But in community and you're like. This is so normal, I'm hearing a woman having an orgasm to my right, I'm having hearing a woman crying to my left because you're going through a healing experience and I am plucking on, you know, I'm somewhere having my experience and you're like, wow, the it gives you a taste and a little insight into maybe what community used to be. Where sex wasn't so abnormal, taboo, charged, controlled, demonized, all of those things hidden in secrecy behind closed doors, but where actually sensual and communal pleasure could potentially have been a thing. And so we're bringing that back. And when we do that, we realize that it's a very joyful experience to share with other people. It builds deep bonds and it makes us feel really happy and normal, right? Normal in our desires, right? So let's talk a little bit because I think it's a common experience and I know that you had a huge shift as well. Like for me, childbirth was one of the most powerful experiences, and I won't go down the rabbit hole of like it also was very far from perfect experience. But the fact that I blew my own mind about what I was capable of doing and did it all naturally, I had absolutely no in the face being surrounded by a culture and individuals who also didn't really see that as normal or that possible. You know, it's like completely changed my vision of what was possible for me in general. So I think that there's that like the transformational point piece of giving birth. And then also another huge topic is how, I mean, as much shame and judgment we tend to have about our sexuality can be in general as young women. There's like another layer that comes with, oh, well, now you're a mother and that somehow means like that you don't have sex anymore or you're certainly not. Oh, like there's like yet another layer of hiding or being openly sexual. And I briefly told you off the top here, for me, it's like such this weird mind fuck in a sense here in Mexico where there are like women that are, it's very normal to dress super sexy even as a mom and not like, quote unquote, slutty. And we can deconstruct that works. I know it's one of your favorites, too. But, you know, in a much more overtly trying, trying to be attractive, that's completely socially acceptable. But and I'm sure there's spaces and maybe I'm not privileged to them as a foreigner where there are more open discussions. But I haven't been privileged to them in 12 years where women here are talking about like maybe with very close girlfriends.

A highlight from The #1 Crypto Sector For Insane Returns (These Alts Will Explode)

"Today, I want to talk about the emerging crypto sector that analysts from the Boston Consulting Group predict will increase by a 30x over the next six years. That's right, they expect this entire industry as a whole to grow by a 30x over the next six years. Imagine all the projects in this sector that are the major beneficiaries, just how much potential they have. Now, when I was at the conference in Singapore, because this logic isn't just coming out of nowhere, I noticed a trend. So I went to token 2049 with the rest of the banter team, we were talking to a lot of new projects, we were listening to the speeches, and one major trend that emerged, one reoccurring theme that kept presenting itself over the conference was the talk of this sector. Everyone was talking about it. Every single speech was referencing it. The reason why crypto is going to do a 50x, 100x, all the justifications for the future growth of crypto were embedded in this narrative. So I thought after I came back from the conference, I'm like, I have to make this video and I've done videos on this before a little bit, but I want to dive deep today and look through all the data and look through the potential and also show you some of the projects in this niche so you can start looking in the right direction. And then in the future, we're probably going to do a lot more content on this sector because I believe it's a massive growth vertical. And if you don't have any coins or any exposure in your portfolio to this sector, you might want to start rethinking that. And there are many ways to approach it that we'll get into in today's video. And there's a lot of nuance, but let's talk about this sector and let's dive in. So make sure to smash the like button if you're excited, click the subscribe button if you're not already subscribed. And without further ado, let's get into the show. So I'm talking about real world assets. This is a broad sector, but it's a massive sector and it's one of the biggest growth verticals I think that crypto has over the next five years to the next decade. This is something that not just I noticed, but many other accounts noticed when they went to token 2049. It's really the new established trend in the market. That is, I guess what you could call the new hottest thing in 2021, we had crypto gaming. Everyone was talking about crypto gaming in 2017. You know, you had the ICO boom, that was like the talk of the town. Every single cycle, there's a new trend and there's a new hottest kid on the block narrative that tends to gain a lot of investor mind share and also attract a significant amount of the new fresh VC capital into next cycle. What I'm seeing from a VC perspective anecdotally, but also on the financial side is a lot of the new investments being geared towards two sectors, real world assets. So protocols that are facilitating real world assets, and we'll get into what that means in a second. And also L2s and ZK, ZK privacy roll up solutions were also a major trend that I saw at the conference. These are the two trends. Today, we're going to talk about trend number one, which is real world assets. Now, why real world assets? That's the first question we need to answer. Well, here's the thing. In 2021, the fed funds rate was close to zero, meaning you could essentially borrow money from a bank for essentially zero. What this means is your ability to earn yield on your dollars in a bank account or through treasury bonds is extremely low. It was basically impossible to get yield. The traditional finance world was starved for yield. And I'll show you in front of you exactly what this looks like. Look at 2022, right? In fact, I'll go to the five -year chart. I'll make this very obvious. From 2020 to 2022, because of the pandemic, they had to cut rates. And because they cut rates, the fed funds rate was essentially zero. Money was free. There was no interest. Bonds weren't yielding anything. So it was an extremely dry yield environment. So what did people do? Well, they were searching for yield and they needed to go into new emerging sectors like tech and crypto. Crypto is the only place in a dry yield environment where people could earn yield. Why would they keep their money in T -bills when they could make 20%, 30%, 40 % in USDC farms on the blockchain? Sure, they weren't sustainable. But at the time, 30 % on USDC was a lot more attractive than 0 % on their dollars. So a lot of people put money into crypto. And there's been a lot of talk about why has the DeFi TVL dropped off so much over the last couple of years. It's very simple. The reason why the DeFi TVL has dropped off over the last couple of years is because we've seen this trend reverse. We've gone from an environment where people were starved for yield and were searching for it in DeFi to an environment, as you can see in the right of your screen here, where you can earn 6 % on T -bills. So now effectively, there's this risk -free rate of 5 .5 % where you can go in, earn 5 .5 % on your US dollars and just chill. And the opposite has happened to DeFi. With a lot of the DeFi applications now hitting the end of their vesting curves, meaning there's no emissions to subsidize fees, and because it's a bear market and fees are down, they're no longer generating the same percentages that they were generating. Look at yields across the board. ETH, 3%. Bitcoin, in some cases, you're getting less than 1%. Centralized lending went out the window with Celsius and Voyager, so you can kiss that goodbye. So there's no centralized yield anymore. People don't trust it anyway. So the existing yield is pretty much only being supplemented by trading fees. It's no longer being supplemented by emissions.

2017 Singapore 5 .5 % 20% Boston Consulting Group Five -Year 40 % 2021 Today 6 % 30% 30 % Two Sectors Less Than 1% 2020 First Question 30X Two Trends 50X

A highlight from Caroline van der Plas

"Up, person de ketitel, a respect van vlees en bloot, for the keike die we luestern, and the luesterer die go keiken. Keike and luestern are... Caroline, van der Plas, welcome! Thank you! Eindeke eef rist? Euhm, neewen ik sie tom ik jou. Haha, there you are. Dit is heedleker eef een sprekjeso. Ja. Euhm. Euhm, dit is heedleker eef een sprekjeso. Euhm, neewen ik sie tom ik jou. Haha. Euhm, neewen ik sie tom ik jou. Haha. That doesn't happen all the time, but we do our best for it. That's a lot of work to do. So, since the general over -winning, with the rules... ...a club in the Netherlands... ...is it enough? No. No, the over -winning of 15 months... ...that took all the provinces together... ...and the United States... ...the formation of the colleges of the United States... ...the first came, and we said no. It was a long day for now. All uni, all cities and states... ...and all cities together... ...took a lot of time... ...and we came together in the same way. That's right. And Caroline for the Plus is the overall winner. Yes. You come to the overall table. So sick. Yes, yes, sicker. So we're going to take five or six years of Israel... ...in a module. Yes, clubs. What do you need? What do you need? Now, I have a lot of work to do. I work here, naturally... ...and a lot of work by income citizens... ...because, yes, I don't belong here. I come with my parents... ...and I also like to see that I'm still living here. I have a lot of work to do. Of course, Israel has a lot of work... ...by the opening of MBO here... ...and they say to me... ...you don't have time for that... ...but I'm still living here. I'm still living here. That's why I have a lot of work to do. It's a lot of work for people... ...a lot of work for people. I have a lot of input, so... ...yes, I still have a lot of work to do... ...with my kids. Well, that's it. We're really looking forward to it. You're a journalist. Yes. Are you more? No. I'm not more. No, you're not. You're more of a journalist... ...than a journalist. Yes. Who is more of a journalist than you? Yes, my father. My father was a journalist... ...a sports journalist... ...by David Dagblad... ...and, yes, at the same time... ...I also worked with a lot of sports... ...and so on... ...and I found out... ...that I really liked what he did... ...and that I really liked the Redaxi. What kind of sport was that? I've played a lot of amateur football... ...a lot of times in David... ...and I also played with the Eagles... ...because I think it's the most important thing... ...to be able to drive a motorcycle... ...and to be able to drive the Redaxi... ...and, yes, it's a little... ...but I also really liked the Redaxi... ...and I found out that I really liked... ...a lot of people... ...with a lot of spinners... ...and what -not... ...and coffee halls... ...for the journalists... ...and so on. I also liked the chocolate milk... ...because I thought... ...that I would also be able to help... ...with the KISS Rave. And so on... ...I really liked it. So it's a lot of fun. So it's not so much the journalistic... ...in the interest of where I'm going. No, my father gave me that offer. And he said... ...that you can't do anything... ...and you're not going to do anything... ...and you're not going to do anything... ...and you can't do anything else... ...and you have to pay for it. So it's a lot of the Redaxi work... ...and then the work comes up. So we all have to do something else. And... ...no, that's what I just said. Yeah. The question of whether or not... ...you're going to stick to it... ...can I ask? Yeah, yeah. No, yeah. I'm going to ask you to do something else. And say... ...you're not going to do anything else. No, no, no. I don't know if you know... ...the journalists... ...or the younger generation... ...with which I contacted China. I don't want to get into a Gladiator List... ...but I think it's also a big part of the younger generation. You know, younger generation always SCREAMS... ...about whether you're going to talk about their kind and... ... Their own states and things like that. So we can really talk about younger generations... ...who are going to talk about their own state. I always think that the criticism... ...and everyday else is applied to younger generations... ...so sometimes we think of younger generations as Russian... ...as being assume that it's not just you. We have had insane fish. They don't mind that that's not the best. We can do it without drugs. But we still have to find a way to double this on paper instantly In the mayoralpanels. Can you repeat the question in my context? Yeah well, our publictime support goes back to the start of the setup of the FC times, and to prevent so many types of emergencies. it works .pparang The pattern will break, in the states too fast. This will be ideal cherry grass, but that has to be done spiritually. They are very special for the society. This thing isDexter from the point of view of thephone. What about the speaker? There are several questions that you can answer. At least for a Rocky Buss. It's not that it's a big name, it's just a realistic name. But that's what we're talking about. Maybe if we're talking about problems? Yes. What do you think about that? I think that I'm 33 years old now. Yes, I'm not, but I'm an adult now. Yes, you are. Yes, I know, but... You don't have anything else to say? No, no, my ears are not really working. No, I don't have anything else to say. I'm not sure, but I'm not sure. But it was more that we were actually not really talking about the fact that we were talking about the fact that we were talking about the fact that this restaurant, the cafe, which is called Dina Weis, was a place that was closed for the first time. It was closed for the first time. And now that it's closed, the cafe is still closed, so it's hard to say. And you're from Bine, too? Yes, that was for him a question that is not working. There is no real time for it. No. There comes, well, a normal work up your ass. Yeah. And what you can do is take a stand from a bisturier to an angst for a new party. Yeah. The ground is open. Each year, at least, there's a tour back of the Bible, and stuff like that, so there's no real time for it. There is no real time for this party. It's open. So, it's a bisturier with the hand behind it. And that's what, what's the name of Caroline's bisturier? Her lance bisturier, that's what you're talking about. Yeah. No, it's a bisturier, but I think that we're seeing that we're already open to it. We're always open to it, that we're always looking at it, and that's what's next. And, of course, it's been a long time. And that's what we're seeing is the need for employees. And we're seeing employees that are always looking for a new job, a new job, a new job, a new job, So we're not too far away. So, we're not too far away. So, we're finally in the middle of the day. And, of course, we're having a good time with the candidates. We're having a lot of fun. We'll be doing some work with the candidates, we'll be doing some good things, and we'll be doing some good things. And we'll have a tour where we'll be able to get to know the candidates. So, yeah. Yeah, I think that I think that yeah, what is it? I think that it's a very important thing for the candidates. Because I see it on the wall. I'm not a fan of the wall. Yeah. I think that I think that we're not going to be able to do anything or do anything. Or, I guess so. But, what's your job for your audience? What's your job for your kids? Well, for my first job, I was really lucky. I thought I had a job, of course, and I thought I was very lucky. But I thought that it would be nice for my audience to be able to do something. And it would be nice to be able to do something if it were honest, if it were a technique, or something for my audience. What was it? Yeah, I think I was in the middle of the class. I was 13, 12, 13 years old. I was in the middle of the class. I was 13, 12, 13 years old. When I was really lucky. I didn't have any other things to do. I didn't go to school or other things to do. So, that was my thing. But, I did it. I got to have my own thing. And I was interested in it. I wasn't interested in it. I wasn't interested in it. I was very interested in music, pop stars, French, that kind of thing. So, what kind of music were you interested in? Aspen, ballet, and The Renderer, Ultra Fox, U2. That was the biggest thing. Were you interested in music? Yeah, I wasn't interested in music. I was interested in Spotify, so I wasn't interested in music. I thought, oh yeah, you can't do anything amazing. You have to do things in your head. You have to do everything amazing. Yeah, that's the thing. That's the thing that you have to do in your head. Yeah. on the other hand, you have to do things intuitively. Yeah. And that's another thing in politics. Yeah. No, I have a lot of things that in my head are the biggest things that the United States was in. The United States was free and I wasn't interested in music. I wasn't interested in music at all. I was interested in music. But I didn't have the best set of shows. I had a lot of things that I had done that the United States was free. I was not interested in music. It was good. Good. It was It was good. I was music. It was good. I didn't set of shows. The United States was free. The father was free. Man was free. The author was free. Most of the were free. In fact after that I was excited about my would you be more clear with the history of the place, the land and the state? Yes, I was at my base, but in the period before I came, I was in overland. My father was there in 2013, overland. So he didn't have much money. But my brother, my mom and my friend Henk, they visited as well. And they told me to come back. I was there in 2013, and I was there in 2013, and I was there in 2013. So I was there in 2013, and I was there in 2013. But I was there in 2013, and I was there in 2013. And they had a great experience. They came up with this idea of the Great Lakes. So, yeah. But who is that in the region that believes everything about it? And is there no state for it? Yes, then you have to think about what I'm talking about. Yes. Yes, it's a little different. If a person lives, has a loss of the right to be part of it, they have to go back home with a little bit of a miss. There's also the period that you're sick. It's going to be very difficult. Is it going to be very difficult? No, it's not. I think it's going to be very difficult. But, yeah, overland. In a health care process, I can take care of it. Yes, I think it will have a lot of impact on my health. I think that, with a lot of people, it's difficult to get enough of it. You have to take care of it. You have to take care of it. It's a little bit difficult to get enough of it. But if you see that you have a lot of pain and loss of health, that is a lot harder. That is not a good idea. That I think is a little bit hard. have That you a lot of pain and loss of health. That you don't have a lot of pain, that you're sick. And that's what I really want to hear, from the fact that it's over -layed, that it's all over the place. Is it a sort of good off -site? That you have a lot of pain? Yes, for sure. That's what I wanted to hear. A hundred percent. Overall, it's what I want to hear. That's what I want to hear. If someone has a heart attack and is sick, then they don't have the person who is sick. But you have to take care of it. That's what I want. That's what I want to hear. That's what I want to hear. And if they do that, then they will have a lot of pain. And that's what I want to hear. A lot of things can be explained. And it's sort of off -site, in the sense of, no, we don't have a lot of pain. We don't have a lot of pain. So that's a big deal. Yes, that's a big deal. A big deal. A lot of people do that. And that's a big deal. For someone who has a lot of pain, that they don't have a lot of pain. But I really want to hear it. And that's what I really want to hear. It's a very important moment that you have met Okaa. And you have to think about what it can mean in one day. And you have to work with it. You have to work with it. So you can take care of it. All of that will happen. You have to work with Okaa. And if it works, then it's not going to work. And that really is a real fact. It's not going to work. It's not going to work. So it's an important moment. Our lives and our practices will work together. So if you have a partner, or maybe even a partner, you have to think about it. If it doesn't work, it's not going to work. And realize that people don't have a lot of pain. No, they can't. No. And you don't have a lot of pain. Yes. You have to have a lot of pain. No, no. A lot. A lot of pain. A lot of pain. A lot of pain. Yes. Yes. No, but I've been very much involved in my family. My direct family. My sons. My mother. My brother. My life. That I really feel very good. That it's going to work. In the end, it's a very difficult thing to do. And how I want to do it. Is the state of your life, well, on your own right. Or on your own right. But if my own right is there, well, on your own right. That's it. I find it very difficult. That you have to be good at your own right. And after all, especially from my mother, my friend, my kids, have you ever felt yourself? Yes, it's a good thing. It's a good thing for me. It's a good thing that I'm on the court. I'm in a burnout. That I overcome my own right. That's what I'm talking about. Yes, I know. I'm a good man. I don't want to sit in the bibber as a rich guy at the bank. But if I'm going to be able to do it, it's a good thing. I'm a little bit of a man, but I'm a good man. If I can do it myself, I can do it myself. It's a good thing that my son can do it himself. I'm a big man. I'm a little bit of a man. I'm good at my own right. And I find it very difficult. I find it very difficult for people to do it myself. Yes, because you go to the middle, you have a hope in Bangladesh for a lot of people who are living in the States. That's a political point. But, it's a very big challenge for people to be in the States and be able to do it. And for people to be in the States, I think it belongs to you. Yes, it does. Yes, I think... ...you feel bad in your life, or have bad in your life, then... ...it's as if you make a thing out of it, that you think... ...is it really a bad thing, or is it a drug? And I think, no, it's totally not a bad thing. The people in my life are like a group. I have other things to do. That's why I think it belongs to you. But that's what's wrong, I think. I have a lot of talk about what the ungriving of my fund is... ...but now it's more about my base. My father was a journalist. He was a doctor. My mother was a reporter. She was a reporter. A CDR. A CDR, yes. You can't blame it. You can't blame it, then. No, yes, yes. I feel that it's really a bad thing. And we can work together. We can work together. But that's not the case. No, it's not that. I think it's a drug. I think it's a drug... ...to realize that people... ...who have a letter on their hands... ...have to pay for it. I think it's a bad thing. So I don't think it's a drug. There's no social media. But I think it's a bad thing. I'm a bit scared. But we don't have that. I think it's a bad thing. Yes, it's a bad thing. It's what you're saying. Yes, it's true. It's true. But it's true here. It's true. It's true. Like Savannah was talking about. Or like a little girl. I think it's a bad thing. I think it's a bad thing. I think it's a bad thing. And then there's politics. And then there's politics. I don't think it's a bad thing. But I'm aware of politics. That's what I'm talking about. People are asking for money and money. And that's what's coming out. Irish blood. Yes, I think it's a bad thing. Yes, yes. Is that a thing you're talking about? That you're not talking about Irish blood? In my personal life? Yes, of course. We have a lot of Irish blood. We have a lot of Dutch families. But I also have a lot of Irish families. And they say that I'm poor. But when they say that I'm poor, they say that I have a lot of other problems. In family, my my mother used to say that she had children. She used to work in a mail factory. She had a lot of children. And she had children. She was very poor. So she was very poor. But it was all right. It was all right. It was all right. Everyone was welcome. It was in the eyes of nature. She was very poor. She was very poor. She was the oldest. She was very poor. But she was very poor. That's what she thought. She was poor. And she was very poor. She was only eight years old. And she wasn't very old. She had two brothers of the Philippines. But she was very poor. And she was very poor. She was young. And she was very poor. She was straight and had a coma. And that was what she knew. She had three children. She was very poor. And she was very ill, she had a lot of children. Yes, she was very ill. No, she was very poor. She was a child. And in Limerick, she used to think that I that think the state of life, there is a state of life all over the world. The state of life in the middle of the channel. It's a big part of the roadblocks. It's a big part of the society with meteors. And that's why it's so much more controlled. And not only that, but also the IRAs. They were based on the boomers. And as we know, a boomers was created. There were a lot of strangers and strackers. That was a period when a lot of people... Yeah, a lot of people were in the Republic of Ireland.

"Yesterday, I had a brief moment of panic as my wife was leaving for work, and as she walks out the door and says goodbye, she says, oh, by the way, happy 27th anniversary. Now, I know my wedding anniversary, it's November 1st, and it's not going to be 27, it's going to be 26 years. So, of course, my mind starts racing. First thing you have to do in that moment, you kind of panic and think, okay, 27 years ago, okay, that would have been 1996. It didn't make any sense. And she smiled and said, I wouldn't have known if it hadn't been for my Facebook memory. It's the anniversary of our getting engaged. 27 years ago, on Friday the 13th, we got engaged. She laughed, kissed me goodbye, and walked out the door. And it was funny because that first moment you're hit with something, you panic. And I'm thinking, why should I panic about anything that happened 27 years ago? It just kind of made me chuckle, and it kind of made me realize just how our human mind works for when we're hit with something, especially when we're not thinking about it. I'm sitting here deep involved in some work -related stuff before I get ready to go in the shower and get ready for work. My wife is heading out the door, so she's got an advantage on me. It's kind of funny. We go to that place, but only for a brief moment.

A highlight from 1240. A Therapy Duck? Can Kissing Your Pet Make You Fat?

"Celebrating the connection with our pets this is Animal Radio featuring your dream team veterinarian Dr. Debbie White and groomer Joey Vellani and here are your hosts Hal Abrams and Judy Francis. Well this is the show where we celebrate the animals that we love that are family and for most of us they may be dogs, cats, fish, birds, horses but for one lady it's a duck. She has a pet duck. Why not? And she's going to be joining us on the show today to tell us what it's like to have a pet duck in just a few minutes right here on Animal Radio. Let's see oh it is also week four of our new pet product special featuring the latest goodies and gadgets for you and your pets and we'll have giveaways today of today's item. Lori what are you working on over there in the newsroom? There's some interesting new research out that there's nothing definitive yet but there are hints and they are studying it if it's possible that by you kissing your pet you could make that pet heavier.

Delicious Vegan Birthday Cakes Are Surprisingly Easy to Make!

"Art and I, my husband and I, have been married now for 41, almost 42 years, and we're both Virgos. Imagine that, two perfectionists. Aye. But every September, our birthdays roll around only 10 days apart. So this year marks our first birthday celebrations as vegans. So of course, because I am so enjoying this new culinary road that I'm on, I had to experiment with baking a vegan birthday cake. And let me just say, not only was it super simple, but the end result was, muah, chef's kiss, delicious. So there are a couple of ways of doing this, the made from scratch version and the lazy version. And honestly, I think it depends a lot on your mood and energy level, at least it does for me. I mean, there are days that I cannot wait to be in the kitchen, slicing, dicing, cooking, baking, blah, blah, blah. But there are most definitely days when I am exhausted from other projects and I just want to prepare something really quick and easy. The best part of baking vegan cakes is that you can have it both ways. So I'm speaking from experience when I say that I did experiment with both the made from scratch version and the super lazy version of this cake. And I will admit that both versions were really, really good. The upside to baking from scratch, of course, is that you can avoid all those nasty chemical ingredients that they put into the commercial cake mixes. And if you don't believe me, ooh, check out their label, their ingredient labels, eek. I mean, they are downright scary, but as far as taste and consistency go, either one of those versions would win a prize for moistness, deliciousness, scrumptiousness. I mean, they both taste really good. So what I did for my made from scratch cake was I took a simple white cake recipe and I substituted vegan ingredients, super easy. So for example, when a recipe calls for eggs, you have a couple of really great vegan options. You can use either unsweetened applesauce, like one ounce would equal one egg. And I did this way back even before I was a vegan. If I had applesauce and I was out of eggs, I could substitute applesauce really easily. Or you can do what I did for this cake and use one 2 .5 ounce carton of silk non -dairy vanilla yogurt. So you just take it out of the fridge about an hour before you start your cake so that it's closer to room temperature and it works great. It's super easy to spoon it right out of the container and into your mixture. I mean, super simple. So when a recipe calls for butter, I simply substitute vegan butter in the same measurements. I like to use Country Crock plant -based spreads. It's the one that you buy in the cubes. They're easier to measure when you buy the cube butter in the box. And then of course, when a recipe calls for milk, I just substitute almond milk. I've tried all the other plant -based milks and they're all good. But honestly, what I have found to be the closest in consistency to real milk is the regular unsweetened Almond Breeze brand. That's the one that is my all -time favorite. Now with this cake for Arthur's birthday, I have this really beautiful Bundt cake mold. And so I decided to make a Bundt cake. I don't usually do that for birthdays, but you know, this year's a little different. So the icing recipe that I've listed with the cake, with the cake recipe, is in measurements that are to make icing for a drizzle, to drizzle over a Bundt cake. If you decide that you want to make a layer cake, you'll need to probably double the measurements in the chocolate icing recipe. But honestly, making the Bundt cake was a great decision because it looked absolutely gorgeous. I mean, it was like a mountain with chocolate lava pouring down the sides. And when he saw it, he was just like, oh my gosh, look at that. It is so beautiful. And then the icing, I mean, the recipe for the icing, it is such a decadent treat. I use Confessioners, excuse me, Confectioners sugar, along with pure unsweetened cocoa powder, a little bit of softened vegan butter, some vanilla extract, and five or so tablespoons of almond milk. So if you're going to make a drizzle icing, you know, for your Bundt cake, you'll want to thin it out with the almond milk. If you decide that you want a thicker spreadable frosting, hold off on the almond milk and add just one tablespoon at a time as you're mixing to get exactly the right consistency that you need.

Episode 121 The 8 Driving Forces of Restaurant Success - burst 2

"Let's see if you can relate to this. It's 12 AM, another late night for you being the restaurant owner. You get home to realize that you haven't eaten all day because you were busy at the restaurant all day long. So what do you do? You go in the kitchen, you grab some bread, you make a sandwich. There you are sitting on the sofa in the living room just taking in the silence. Finish your sandwich, you walk down the hallway, open the door to your daughter's room. You see her laying there sleeping and the thing is it hits you. She's turned six tomorrow and you're going to have to miss her birthday party because it's a Friday night and the restaurant's packed and you have to be there. Kindly walk into the room, you bend over, you kiss her good night while your heart is just breaking inside for missing another birthday, especially since you missed her dance recital last week because you had to be at the restaurant. You finally make it to bed and your spouse asks you, you know, how was business? And you know, you kind of suck it up. You say it was good even though it was slow that night and she turns towards you to remind you that business taxes are due. You go to give her a kiss and she turns back over and goes back to sleep. You see, you sold her on your dream and that dream has turned into a nightmare for both of you. She's really fed up with your hobby, not making the money you told her it would. I mean, you can't even remember when the last time you had a date night together. The room feels really lonely and cold. You feel more like roommates than a couple. And you lay down wondering if you're going to have enough in the bank to cover those taxes and payroll since they hit at the same time and then all of a sudden, oh crap, you just gave your Sifu vendor a big check today as well. What if they all hit the bank at once? You lie in bed and you can just feel your heart racing with anxiety. It's now 2 a .m. You finally fall asleep an hour later and you are abruptly woken up by your daughter at 6 a .m. who reminds you that it's her birthday. Then it hits you full force right in the chest. The reality that you're failing as a parent, as a spouse, as a restaurant owner. You think to yourself, man, if it would just be busy this weekend, things would be better. Business strategy turns into hope and hope turns into a prayer. The weekend comes and like always, you throw yourself into your work 100%. You keep saying you're going to start working out again and you keep pushing it back to next week when business picks up and you're not so stressed out about sales and the bank account. But the busier it gets, the more hours you work because you just don't know any other way. I mean, hey, come on, hard work got you this far and surely it's going to get you through this rough patch, right? Sadly, no. The restaurant you dreamed of opening has turned on you and now it owns you, mind, body and soul. You're stuck and it doesn't look promising for the future of your business, your health and relationships with your kids or your marriage. You might be thinking, oh my God, Donald, it's like you're watching a private movie of my life. Actually, that was my life when I opened my first restaurant. I was failing and I kept lying to myself that things would eventually get better without me becoming a better owner and I was lucky. I had a regular guest who came to my restaurant, his name was Peter, who happened to be a very, very successful businessman. One night he sat down with me after dinner service and he said, you know, let's have a talk. He grabbed a little kind of white bar napkin from the table and he pulled out a pen and he scribbled on it three words, people, product, process. And he said these three elements are the secret to long -term restaurant and business success. And I could tell he thought I was skeptical. I mean, it couldn't be that simple. And then he went on to explain that the secret was the order you placed them in. And then he said to me, you know, Donald, you have, you have the menu dialed in, but that's just one element of the product piece. You have some checklist, but your team isn't using them to their potential. You're interviewing for skill and not for personality, and that's why you have high turnover. So Peter made me a deal. He said he would spend an hour each week going over this framework piece by piece. And I had to commit to being open to new ideas and to actually implement the tools. And I agreed. I will tell you now, it not only saved my restaurant, it changed my life. The crazy thing is that was 28 years ago. And I still have the original napkin, Peter wrote those three words on it's up in my office in a shadow box. And since then, I've refined and modified those original tools to meet the demands of the modern independent restaurant. See, I was allowing my ego, pride and denial to run my restaurant. So allow me to show you a way to have a very successful restaurant that doesn't own you. So you can have time with your family and friends, not stressed about money, no more arguments with the spouse about, you know, you know, your restaurant, it's always your restaurant is always a problem. How about maybe getting even a good night's sleep with no nightmares about your business? You see someone reached out and coached me and it changed everything. So allow me to offer that to you. Now today is a very, very

And listen, this one, I don't blame them for, but if their spouse happens to die, it doesn't matter if they've been in Congress for a month, they will get, their spouse will get an entire year's salary. And I don't begrudge them of that. They get, they get to go to the barber. They get all the food they want. They get perks at the airports on, et cetera. Now I get that. I understand that perks with flying in airports, they got to go make boats and stuff like that. I get that. I get that, but I wish they didn't have to travel. And I don't believe they do have to travel, you know, all the time. The speaker of the house gets 223 ,000. It is Wednesday, August 30th, 2023. My name is Julie Hartman. I am the host of the Dennis and Julie show, or I should say the co -host of Dennis and Julie, alongside Dennis Prager. That premieres every Monday on the Salem News Channel. I am also the host of my own three times weekly show, Timeless with Julie Hartman, which is on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays on the Salem News Channel. You can also catch those two shows, Dennis and Julie and Timeless, on the Julie Hartman YouTube page, and of course, you can download them on Apple and Spotify. It is great to be with you. To begin this morning, we're going to talk about a 12 -year -old Colorado student, who on Monday was kicked out of class for having a Gadsden flag patch on his backpack. For those who don't know what that is, the Gadsden flag patch, it is the don't tread on me flag that sometimes you see flying around the United States. According to the school district, which kicked this child out of class, that Gadsden flag is only flown in Trump 2020 flag flying white supremacist neighborhoods, which is obviously a lie, and not to mention insulting. This story, I think, provides a pretty apt synopsis of the state of American education for two reasons. First, the teacher who kicked this boy out of class falsely said that the Gadsden patch had, quote, origins with slavery. That is not true. This patch was actually made in the 1770s during the American Revolution, and the slogan don't tread on me was intended to be a message to the British that the American colonists who were rebelling against their rule were no longer going to put up with the British treading on them. That is the first thing that reveals the state of American education because it is very common nowadays for the content in schools to be taught incorrectly. Then the second reason why it says kind of everything you need to know about the state of our country's school system is that in addition to teaching the wrong content, students are being politically persecuted. There was another story in Massachusetts just about three or four months ago where a young 12 -year -old boy, Liam Morrison, was also sent home from school because he dared to wear a t -shirt that said there are only two genders. This is an ever -growing phenomenon in our country, but let's go here to this article I'm reading from American Greatness. On Monday, so two days ago, very recent, a Colorado Springs charter school removed a middle school student from class for having a Gadsden flag patch on his backpack, alleging falsely that the patch had origins with slavery. A video circulating on X features a Vanguard school administrator explaining to 12 -year -old Jaden and his mother why the boy was pulled from class. The confrontation has gone viral, and due to negative publicity, this is great news, the boy was allowed to have the patch in place when he returned to school on Tuesday. That is totally the right strategy. What happened is that Jaden and his mother were so outraged by Jaden being sent home from school that they went public with this clip. They were on Sean Hannity on Fox News. I believe that they also spoke with Tucker Carlson, or at the very least, Tucker Carlson covered this story. That is the right approach. When something insane happens, whether it's in your child's school or in your workplace, you have to go public with it. That is the only way that we are going to expose the rot of wokeism and try to get it unraveled. This past Monday, in addition to being the day that 12 -year -old Jaden was sent home from school, also marked the 60th anniversary of the March on Washington, where Martin Luther King Jr. delivered the famous I Have a Dream speech. In addition to Martin Luther King's great activism, nonviolent activism, the thing that ended the racist Jim Crow laws in the South was the fact that Americans were seeing the discrimination against black people on their televisions. The start of cable TV, or at least the popularity of cable TV in the 50s and 60s in contributing to the civil rights movement cannot be underestimated. It is because people started taking video of black people in the South being hosed down by police officers, having dogs unleashed on them. And in the court of public opinion, the Jim Crow laws and other racist measures that were present in the South no longer became acceptable because people were seeing with their own eyes how disgusting it was. That is what we need to do now in this arguably new civil rights era in our country. We need to go public, show video, send audio of a teacher berating a student. So I just thought that was interesting that on the same day that this child was sent home was the same day that Martin Luther King delivered that speech. Similar lessons can be gleaned from both of those experiences. Continuing from American greatness, this is a quote from the school administrator. The reason that we do not want the flag, the reason that we do not want the flag displayed is due to its origins with slavery and the slave trade. The Gadsden flag, the surprised mother responded to which the administrator replied the don't tread on me flag. The mother asked what would happen if Jayden removed the patch and the staffer answered flatly the bag can't go back if it's got the patch on it because we can't have that in and around other kids. They're talking about this patch like it has cooties, like if you get within five feet of it, you are going to get a highly contagious deadly flu. We can't have this around other children. Lest they get infected with the imaginary bigotry of the Gadsden flag patch, the mother shot back. Yeah, it has nothing to do with slavery, I love this. The mother is teaching the teacher. That's like the Revolutionary War patch that was displayed when we were fighting the British. Thank you Jayden's mother for teaching basic elementary history to an elementary school teacher. The administrator responded, I am here to enforce the policy that was provided by the district. This is such cowardice. It's not me who's doing this, even though I'm the one who sent the child home. It's a policy. I'm just hiding behind the policy. The mother and son pointed out that other Vanguard kids, Vanguard is the school in Colorado, are allowed to have other various patches on their backpacks. That's exactly right. I bet that there are students at that school who have come in with Black Lives Matter patches or pride patches or even t -shirts with those symbols. Why is that okay? Arguably Black Lives Matter, not just arguably, I mean it's pretty evident, Black Lives Matter is far more offensive of a flag than the Gadsden flag. Black Lives Matter is a Marxist organization which advocated for uprooting the Western prescribed notions of the nuclear family. The Black Lives Matter organization has accumulated billions and billions and billions of dollars that has gone absolutely nowhere to places that would actually help black people. They purported to raise this money for bail funds and for scholarships and for public school funding. What we have found out is that it has actually gone into the pockets of the founders so that they could buy $6 million mansions here in Los Angeles. Those billions of dollars were also used to, actually they were used for bail funds, but they were used to bail out violent rioters who set buildings aflame. Those riots in 2020 killed 25 people, many of whom were black. But the Black Lives Matter flag is okay. I bet you there would be no issue, but the Gadsden flag, oh yes, that is bigotry. How about the pride flag? You know, pride no longer represents tolerance of those with different sexual identification. It a represents movement that seeks to condone the genital mutilation of young children in the name of so -called gender affirming care. Is that offensive? Would that flag be allowed in schools? I bet you it would. 1 -8 Prager, 776 -1877 -243 -777 -6. Back in a moment. Precious metals, it's imperative that you buy from a trustworthy and transparent dealer that protects your best interests. Triple G has notified me that we actually have a clip of this recording of the administrator telling 12 -year -old Jaden, the Colorado student, that he could not wear the Gadsden flag patch on his backpack. I just want to play a minute of the video for you so that you can hear this. And for those of you who are watching the show on the Salem News Channel, you will see that this boy is so polite. He's clean cut. He has a nice shirt on and he's sitting there, you know, with his hands clasped together and he's just nodding and taking it in, incredibly dignified and polite. He didn't say anything like, come on, this is ridiculous. What the heck is going on here? He handled that with such class. His mother should be proud. Let's hear a minute of this clip. Thank you. Do they know what the Gadsden flag is? It's a historical flag. So there, the reason that they do not want the flag, the reason we do not want the flag is due to its origins with slavery and slave trade. That is what was, that's the reason behind the Gadsden flag. The don't tread on me, which is the Gadsden flag. Okay, so he, what's going to happen if he doesn't take it all? He, I mean, he is able to go, I was actually just telling him, like, I was upset that he was missing so much school. I'm like, ah! So I asked him, can he just take his stuff out of his bag and go back to class? Like, I just want him to go back to class. The bag can't go back. It's got a patch on it, because we can't have that in and around other kids. So that's what I was trying, and then he said you were close, so I was like, oh, okay. It's amazing that this administrator is saying, you know, I hate that he's missing school. He's missing school because of you, my friend, or not my friend, my enemy. All right, reading continuing from American Greatness, the head of the school told Jaden's mother that the patch was, quote, disruptive to the classroom environment, and that the boy was welcome to return to class on Tuesday, but only if he removed the patch, okay? Because of its creator's history and because it is commonly flown alongside Trump 2020 flags, the Confederate battle flag, and other white supremacist flags, some may now see the Don't Tread On Me flag as a symbol of intolerance and hate or even racism. Oh, gosh. We could spend the entire three hours on that quote. Okay, so many lies in that one sentence. But they're saying that Trump 2020 flags are white supremacist flags. How is that not political persecution? So half this country are white supremacists, really? And then I love this line here. Some may see it as a symbol of intolerance, hate, or even racism. Welcome to the tyranny of the minority. If one person is made to feel uncomfortable by that flag, the entire school has to go along with that person's preferences. This child has to be sent home. As the administrator said, he loses out on learning because this one person may, in a hypothetical world, be uncomfortable. So this is interesting because let's look at these four adjectives that were used to describe this patch, disruptive, intolerant, hateful, and racist. We live in a world where there is such a profound assault on truth. And what comes alongside that assault on truth is an assault on the objective meaning of words, because that's basically another way of saying the truth, that words hold a objective, truthful meaning. You know, when people say, well, what's the harm of calling a man a woman or a woman a man? What's the harm of saying words are violent? This is the harm, because when words lose their objective meaning, the rules and the standards that are associated with those words also lose their objective meaning, and then all havoc breaks loose. There is this standard in American public education. It was established in a Supreme Court case in 1969. The case is called Tinker versus Des Moines, Iowa School District. And it dealt with the fact that students came to class wearing Vietnam War or anti -Vietnam War wristbands, and they were asked to remove those wristbands. And this case went all the way up to the Supreme Court, and the court established what's called the Tinker standard of regulating speech in schools, because they had to balance the fact that sometimes it is necessary and even good to regulate speech in schools for disciplinary reasons, but also respecting the fact that students have First Amendment rights. So they established this standard, which essentially says that students have a right to express political speech, wear shirts, wear backpack stickers, wear wristbands. As long as that speech is not disruptive to the classroom and does not infringe on the rights of other students to learn. So here we see that this school district in Colorado is saying that Jaden's backpack patch is disruptive. And so if we are now calling a backpack patch disruptive, then it means that they can lawfully tell Jaden to go home and get rid of it, because the Tinker standard says that they have a right to censor speech that is disruptive. Once the objective meaning of words change, then that paves the way for the objective meaning of rules and standards associated with those rules to change. Another story that we will cover in this hour is this Spanish soccer league craziness where the head, I believe it was, of the Spanish soccer league went up and kissed one of the female players after the Spanish female soccer team won the World Cup. This kiss, which by the way I do not condone, you shouldn't kiss someone if it is unwanted or without their consent, but this kiss is now being called sexual assault. And this man who planted the unwanted kiss on the female soccer player is under criminal investigation for sexual assault, which in Spain, as in the United States, carries prison time as a potential punishment. Another perfect example of the way that if we change words, then we change the laws associated with those words. Because now if a kiss is called sexual assault, then you can be prosecuted or brought to trial for alleged sexual assault if you kiss someone. This is very scary. That is why conservatives make such a fuss when words are used improperly, because it leads to a slippery slope. And by the way, this is going to affect all of us. There are going to be many people, we're already seeing it happen, who are going to be fired from their jobs or sent home from school for supposedly being disruptive or racist when they're not. We have calls. We'll take them in the next segment. 1 -8 Prager 776 -1877 -243 -7776. I'm eager to hear your reactions. Back in a moment. We are discussing the fact that this 12 -year -old boy in Colorado was sent home from school on Monday for wearing a Don't Tread On Me patch on his backpack. The school said that he had to remove it. In order to return to school, he and his mother went public with a recording of the administrator admonishing him. And the public outrage over this incident led to the school allowing Jaden to come back with the patch on his backpack. I should also note that the school announced that they would be canceling Parents Night due to quote, unforeseen circumstances. Clearly, they do not want to face some questions about this incident. Let's go to Steve in Chicago, Illinois. Hi, Steve. Thanks for calling in. Yeah, Julie, thanks a lot. So, here's where I'm going to part company with you, okay? Whatever happened at School of Colorado sounds ridiculous, okay? But you beat it like a dead horse a thousand times to make it sound as if this is commonplace. You talk about transgender issues, and Dennis Prager does it nonstop. And what you do, and the way to deceive people, okay, which is what I think you and Dennis do, is to omit from your discussions and your narrative other information that would make what you're saying completely false, okay? What is that information that we are omitting? Well, I'll tell you. I'll tell you. You guys beat this transgender drum like they are going to take over the world and destroy civilization. The fact is - When have we ever said those words? That they're going to take over the world and destroy civilization? I listen to Dennis all the time. It's incessant. And the fact is, is there are very few transgender people relative to the population, okay? That's true. Most of us will never meet a transgender person. The few people who are transgender are afflicted with a horrible psychiatric illness, okay? They deserve empathy. No one is forcing them to undergo any transgender hormonal treatment. I'm going to pause you there, Steve. I don't mean to cut you off, but just for the sake of time, I'm going to pause you and I'd like to continue a discussion, but I have to cut in. You are right, Steve, that there is a relatively low number of transgender individuals relative to the population, which is why I ask the question, why is teaching that gender is non -binary and fluid becoming so mainstream if this is so rare? And I encourage you, Steve, and anyone listening who may agree with his disagreement of Dennis' position and my position, I encourage you to read the California Department of Education codes, the Arizona Department of Education codes, New Jersey, Michigan. Many states, blue states around the country, in these codes have things that say that you should teach kids that gender is non -binary. In New Jersey, they say that you should not refer to children using gendered pronouns. Here in Los Angeles, the LAUSD, which has about 450 schools under its jurisdiction, has monthly Rainbow Club meetings where students as young as four years old are subjected to drag queen story hour. This is not a fringe thing. This is very mainstream, and they are also taught these radical gender codes. I agree that people who are experiencing gender dysphoria deserve empathy. That is why I, and I feel comfortable speaking for Dennis, that is why Dennis and I are so disgusted. And that is the word disgusted by this movement, which is saying, legitimizing the fact that it is normal to not feel your gender. These individuals deserve empathy, they deserve therapy, but what they do not deserve is being subjected to doctors and students who are saying, yeah, you're 13 years old or you're 15 years old and you don't feel like your gender, here are some puberty blockers, and by the way, you should have your breasts cut off. This is happening at the Duke University Medical School, Medical Hospital, excuse me, Boston Children's Hospital. This is happening all over the country. I'd like to give Steve an opportunity to respond. We may have to go into the next segment, Steve. We don't have much time. OK. Yeah. What you're saying about people having their breasts, women having their breasts cut off and hormonal blockers, again, it's a misleading narrative you're giving. OK. No, no, no female is going to breast cut off without her consent, without substantial psychiatric involvement. OK. It is not substantial psychiatric involvement. That is not true. You know what? You know what? I've studied this issue. It is true. As have I. As have I. It is very common for these kids. OK, I'm sorry. We're going to have to continue into the next segment. Steve, stay on. We'll pick it up. Back in a moment.

"I'm free. It's not the end of the world if somebody takes an advantage of me. It's not the end of the world if I give my money away. It's not the end of the world if my career doesn't really go like I'd like it to go. In other ways, if I were able to get things done, I don't care anymore. Because I'm following the way of Jesus Christ and real influence and real treasure and real power comes when you put the influence and treasure and interests of other people ahead of yours. When you reverse places with them, when you put them first and you second, that's the way that Jesus Christ has changed the world. It's already changed. That thought experiment. He's already changed the world quite a bit. But it is pretty hard, isn't it? So that leads us to our last question. Where do you get the power to live like that? And I believe you have to look at the very, very end. First of all, we're told everybody deserted him. And we're told about a young man who was a follower of Jesus, but he was so intent on saving his skin. He was so cowardly that when they grabbed hold of him, he was willing to run away naked through the street. Now, nakedness in the Bible is a sign of shame and disgrace. And it's perfectly appropriate because this man's a coward, an absolute coward. And therefore, the shame of running home naked was perfectly appropriate. Now what's that story there for? Some people have said, there's a very, very old tradition that this is Mark himself. This is the author Mark. Who would have been a young man at the time, and he was saying, I was there, and I was as bad as everybody else. See, everybody's failed him, Judas and Peter. Insiders and outsiders, the violent people of the nonviolent people, the religious people of the irreligious people. There is no one righteous. No, not one. And they've all failed and NT right in his little commentary and Mark says that by having this young man flee naked from the garden.

"I'm in itself is audacious. it's just. It's so uninspiring period to say it with gusto is really surprising. All the time uses it in regular conversation lewis during this first season. She says things are amazing. That's some queen of jordan. Shit i mean is the queen of jordan. I feel like when season one started. One of the most interesting things about salt lake city was the fact that it seemed like every character on the franchise had watch previous housewives. Shows was trying to deliver what they thought fans would want to see and housewives show. It almost felt like it was a satire Watching it yes. Because that's who she is. He walks around with a bedazzled microphone. But by the way kennedy. Say about these tag lines though watching this clip if you can't deliver it like it's actually coming out of your mouth. You don't get to have attacked by lisa. Yeah guys. let's capture your inner. Whatever phyllis diller or wanda sykes or something make it. Sound like you understand. the humor. Humor in quotes coming out of your mouth if you don't like me that's okay because i like me enough for the both of you to the nature of the the wit of these lines is always like it's the way taylor swift writes lyrics which is like it. Sounds almost like it's clever. She's like you think i'm up. I'm always going to be down like it's like you. Put two opposites in a sentence and that's irony. It's so confusing in her sleep on the. I think it's contender for the greatest tagline that ever existed on bravo. Mary cosby who runs a church. And this season by season and steal their money addressing that runs a cult on the show this season finally There's been leaked audio of her. Like yelling at abusing people in her parish etc. Anyway her tagline. If you come from me. I will say jesus after your. That's tegwen overheard bravo. I'm sorry jesus on the case in works for me doubly because it's a reference to my beloved kenya more. Don't come from me unless i send for you. So if you're gonna reference the greatest housewife of all time. I don't wanna hear it.

"All right before we do the. Keep it then. We were talking about real housewives at the season to tag lines. Just dropped tag lines. Of course are you. Know the intro credits for each franchise and someone always has some sort of like weighty pithy phrase that they say as their name pops up louis i feel like even you're familiar with tag lines a person who doesn't watch real housewives. Of course. I have housewives tagline. Yes you do what is it. Opinions are like assholes. Everyone's entitled to mind. That's actually pretty good anyway. Bobby forget your dad listens. He must just this sometimes. My talking about this are outside anyway tag. Lights started out sort of innocuous. I feel like. I've been watching like older seasons of atlanta or like a new york and it's like some of the tag lines repeat from season to season just because they didn't feel the need to update them but then as fans became obsessed with them. They became the thing that you look forward to. When the new season drops and people usually use to reference their current storylines lease danner. Pump would always use them to say. I'm the queen dialing lease reynoso. I was like these lips or kyle. Richards loves to remind you that she lives in beverly hills. And each tagline is always in this town or in beverly hills and of course the salt lake city. Tag lines open up with gen shy and of course references. Big arrested fads. Stay only think guilty. Up is big shah mazing. She's psycho anybody who saw season one of real. How russell lake city knew she was nuts. But she's the least self-aware person that i've ever seen on reality. Tv actually astonishing. Everybody complains about how erica. Jane has been behaving social media with her whole trial in lawsuits. Playing out but jen. Shy is the most audacious unembarrassed person i've ever seen like she's hawking a shitty catchphrase in this thing where she's bragging about not being guilty like what are you doing your xiaomei. Shaw amazing sucks..

"Then we're stuck right because no one actually wealthy wants to be on these shows and ruin their reputation except for kathy. Hilton was on the show. Kasese board i guess. Do you think there are execs at bravo. Who asked questions like this look. At what point does this come exploitation. And they burst into laughter. Just absolutely kathy help. It is odd. Because he's bored. But i will also offer that kathy. Hilton is odd doing image control after the cartel documentary where it was revealed that she her husband just through paris into invest cap where she was abused as a teenage right. I'm not gonna lie though. The damage control is lee day. It's worth agra people they're geniuses kathy is the like all she does is play idiot savant. And it's genius. She she's like what's hunky dory. I don't know why that was the funniest sentence i've ever heard but it was. She like has the right amount of contempt for the people who the audience has contempt for. She embarrasses her kid sister all the time in a way that we've been logging for for seasons because kyle richards has been awful for like five seasons now she produces to like she will like casually bring up in a seed to get other people arguing with sutton woman sutton. Strack accidentally walked in on crystal minkoff While she was naked in her room on a group trip by the way crystal minkoff is the wife of rodman goth who directed the lion king. And she won't let you forget it again. In the recent line came out the original cartoon version. Oh wow yes the blockbuster original yes. So he's got money. Yeah the first thing. The house like her. I seen ever walked through her home and she makes sure to show us his award room where there are like clay sculptures of like fun but they had a fight add. Cathy referred to sudden as thomas. Sina as in peeping thomas tina and would continue to like jokingly. Bring it up in other situations to fuel a fight. So i think that she knows what she's doing and watching her comic timing on the show. She's very actually is so interesting wondering like where that came from. Because paris has that same sense of comic. Timing and mike deadpan delivery. That made her and like nicole. Richie become reality. Tv stars back in the right kim and kyle also funny is just that kim was an addict so got uncomfortable. And then kyle is annoying but even with kathy and kyle's banter. They're both pretty hilarious. So i'm imagining that. Their mom was overbearing and funny like i intend to be with my children. I'm guessing that's where they get it from. You know like you have to be interesting if you're middle class and all of your children. Mary extremely wealthy. There's something that hooks those richmond right and it can't be blowjobs. We all can do those who smoke. Don't speak for everybody. Race reboot of how to marry a millionaire as i sit here not married and have i have smashed a million air. But he didn't stick around so hopefully a millionaire would sell. I think i'm fine. How think ava gardner would've shown up for that anyway. I don't think i've gotten there with a millionaire to be honest baby. Just a thousand hundred thousand air. You're the biggest tax bracket of a person that i've had sex with. What about you. Louis have you hit a millionaire. Who jesus christ as my answer is probably keep the details anymore. So i wanted to save paper right here in san francisco. Chances are yes. They got all that tech money. No grinder in san francisco and like walk. Whatever seven hundred feet to somebody's house you could be in some nothing apartment or the hugest house you've ever seen. They're all right next week. Yeah gentrification does this but that's also why you never really have a real housewives of like silicon valley or something those people with that money. Don't wanna be on tv and ruined the reputation. Show you their house either. It's a great way to get robbed. A great house on which is was wrong young. Richardson arrived because you could see her home on bravo every week and like i remember after a while. The car dash started showing other people's houses on the show like the exterior of other people's homes. So people wouldn't even know where they live. So now you get your neighbors rav. That's fucked does her. I'm still a little bit traumatized by. Did you see that. Footage of suzanne. Somers going live on like instagram. Or something and some have to tell. Suzanne somers of course hocking something. The queen of the cell is on camera with. I believe her husband and she turns to the right and somebody is entering her home and she and she goes. You have to leave you like talking him. Down comet like you have early like people are watching these people. It's really shocking. Oh my god that's terrified. As step by step. He entered the home. That's my people are still stocking. Suzanne somers still master. Once i master for somebody with a master in their hall watching vhs tapes watching step by stat ago eh. I gotta get zad. Gotta get suzanne for it to be on tape just like an overused where dystopia and we all saw on camera. That's why i'm glad this is the podcast. See people really see our hubs where i live. They don't even know what country. I'm in now right all right when we're back gonna.

"She didn't vote. I think she wrote somebody in but for her to come on in four years and try to get at the yes very racist. Ramona just didn't work for me. But yeah i someone who came on to to represent the black voice. You know her. I seen on the show. She was wearing a t shirt. That i think said. I'm rooting for everybody. Black or something like that and it was just kind of like your brand is blackness at this point and for me. I'm uncomfortable with anybody. Who wears not just their race but my race to write as a brand as opposed to engaging honestly with what for them as an individual race meant on the show. I tried to get it for white listeners. The idea that inviting people to like a dinner in harlem and having the dinner be about learning about harlem and black historical figures is like not anything. I would do to my friends in general and to not what people are watching house wise for right. This woman sounds like she was kind of put into the show elga rhythmically and unknow level. Is she delivering something. You actually really wanna talk about or you know. She could have delivered something that we wanted to talk about right but she had talking points instead of an honest conversation with these people it sometimes. It didn't feel organic right. There was one moment in the early part of the season. Where at a table. Someone implied that she was angry when she wasn't and that was an honest opportunity to address an angry. Black woman stereotype. great fantastic. that felt like it was born of a real moment. Ray a real situation. But like i said you invited all these old rich white women from the upper east side to harlem and then gave them a black historical figure. They're like she called was it. Difficult leah or luanne james baldwin. Here it was like this is absurd. This is absolutely absurd. Not only are your like historical figure parallels not accurate. It's just like what are we do. What was your intention here to give a black history lesson at like. This was absurd. It was embarrassing. It was like cringe-worthy and the problem is is. She wrote a black housewives show. She wouldn't get one because he's not interesting enough or thought enough to be on like a potomac or atlanta like they wouldn't hang out with her. Yes you are in. Kenya would call her door right away. Door out here what are you doing. She would be gerusa. Dora on atlanta. But i kind of can picture james baldwin saying out of the side of his mouth. Money can't buy you class. I came so let's rethink her. I think actually contribute something valuable. The other franchise of the bowman's that is currently. Eric is real housewives of beverly hills and lewis. I'm sure you're familiar with the tom. Girardi erica jane's rama. If a me surface-wise yes. Well i mean this past weekend. I spent with a bunch of friends from san francisco. And they're all obsessive watchers of Most of these but like what happens is when the show comes up like someone will just go erica jane. That's it discuss about her straight about. This show is like everybody quote unquote wants to talk about it. But unless you're someone like ray who's fabulous and different than provocative and intelligent. Everybody thinks the same thing about all of the characters and then there's nothing actually disgusted. It's like wow. That leg flew across the table. It's like right. That was of course meant to be crazy. So i get frustrated. With the stagnancy of the conversation about housewife's i get that i would also offer that that becomes a problem for fans of the show like ray and i because art line discourse surrounding real housewives shows is very frustrating. It's super frustrating. Fans get in sort of like a hive. Mind about a certain person on the show and And just barrel through and it's very hard to have these kinds of substantive stations about real housewives We're the weirdos right because this is the show that people go to to watch people be drunken richard they didn't create it with nuance in mind. So we're the weirdos deviating. From what i suppose is supposed to be like what's going on. My frustration is that Especially with like erica. Jane bravo seems to be pushing that she's innocent in all of this. The ideas that her husband's stole all this money and she knew nothing about it and she's trying to make the case that she is not responsible for the crimes of her husband and she doesn't have to give money back or whatever and you'll see on like watch what happens live. Andy cohen is dismissing documentaries. About erica jane and her husband's transgressions or he'll invite the guest to support her. I remember even he had some like podcasters on and was shocked. That one of the podcasters said that they didn't believe anything that eric goes selling. And so it starts to get to be confusing because you start to wonder about bravo's role in all of this if erica. Jane is responsible for some of the things that she her husband is being accused of things that i think she's definitely guilty of then. What is bravo's job. And how ethical or unethical is it to exploit a story line that requires like victimization of innocent people and the care upset her because at the end of the day they need to play both sides of it. Yeah in order to get her to continue to stay on the show yet. Found you know. Bravo wants erica. Jane staying on this show as long as trial is going. I mean even you know with theresa judaism on new jersey. They literally pause filming while she served a jail sentence. I realized what an absurd sentence though. Yes it's a reality show. We wanna get everything and you. This is their real lives. We should capture it. But at what point is it distasteful and expletive and to what degree is bravo encouraging the crime because bravo requires them to have a certain lifestyle and a certain amount of wealth for them to stay on the show. And it's like if these people are trying to step it up to keep up with the joneses and these people are trying to step it up to like mash. The like you can't be on beverly hills and live like a bomb. You know what i'm saying. So it's like all right you could go to potomac and live with robin. Hey listen i love. she's four. She's you know i'm team. Green eyed bandit. Yes that's the thing it's like you are a viewer of the show. And you're making fun of rob before being broker the rest of them right. So it's like robin went and committed a fraud scheme in like stole from old people like jen's shah because she's tired of comments like yards..

"Very interesting to me right now because i feel like it's almost mirroring The evolution of reality tv where. I feel like when reality i started. It was looked on as like this dirty thing to watch like you would be embarrassed to tell people that you were watching certain reality. Tv shows especially when it was like joe millionaire was on right now you should have been watching. Legitimate show is like jag or family together. I tell you i've actually seen episode of jag. Because my grandmother watched it darren. ten thousand. It came on after buffy. That's really a shame. So sit there and watch it. Maybe like the first like eight seasons or something but like tuesday nights. Watch jag with my grandmother. There were forty five seasons of jag. All maybe not all of okay. I didn't do a deep deep but also most episodes of nash bridges to know. I mean you said this. And then i didn't flinch or move packed. I just started feeling somehow less than i but now it's commonplace to mention reality tv in regular conversation with people. Intellectuals will be like. I watch reality. Tv too because there's so many different kinds there's competition shows There's cooking shows that people watch and now there is bravo which i feel like has morphed into being something that is just generally a part of the lexicon now. Maybe it's because somebody bravo people keep getting arrested and now they are mainstream like friends who do not watch real housewives of salt lake city. Which premiers on sunday. No who jen. Shaw is because she was arrested by the threats. Also give some credit to andy cohen. Who really is rene rousso and night. Crawler i mean. Somehow there's always blood on somebody's hands and he's like roll the tape but to catch up with all these things. It's ray is here to catch lewis. Start at square one sweetie. I'm still back in the kelly. Bensimon days so oh well there's a lot of crime since then let me tell you. We'll speak it of kelly. Ben simone there is the real housewives of new york which just concluded its thirteenth season and They added their first black kaos member. Ebony k williams to the series and create a lot of heat online because fans were divided over whether or not they liked her and then other fans or accusing people being racist for not liking her. Ray what are the thoughts. It's very frustrating. Having watched this past season of ronnie. Because there's room for knowing that ebony is wack and acknowledging it but if you say it then your feet and racists and that's the frustration of being like a black person as a viewer and also probably for her as a black person who has to integrate a cast of silly white women. If you're black at all you hang out with silly white woman women is gonna crazy. But then when you're the nerd trying to make these silly white women wrote you're annoying and people are going to be racist towards you like there's no winning there. I didn't enjoy ebony at all. I found her to be authentic. She read to me as somebody who was woke for. Retweets is what i would call it. You know like says the right things in platitudes in like you know short digestible quotes and there isn't much exploration of what she's trying to convey. I don't know that she was honest about her true politics. But i think she knew that being on the right side of history about certain things. We'll get her talked about or she. Well actually she miscalculated because people weren't receptive to our. But i think she came onto the show with an agenda either to flex and like shake up in a way that was supposed to draw attention and make her a hero. Or you know to as you've mentioned in your online writings auditioned for the view. You know what i'm saying right. I called her out as auditioning for the view offers. Shell and here. She is currently auditioning for the view Testing for it. But as one of the conservative host gig about abadi is she used to work at fox news. Yeah and so when you then appear on ronnie and you. Are you know taking ramona singer to task talking about white fragility in conversations. Which i hang out with some dumb silly white people you know. I've never had to say you're white. Fragility is showing in a conversation because that is a nonsense phrase to say so. Her shifting to that's on the show is very weird by the way you're telling me the view is still going on that hasn't been condemned by the sheriff yet. That comes up in the news. I'm like i need to pay attention to this. Somehow less the views on because of meghan mccain and those verbs and i think that the view to quote love island is probably running mad looking for somebody who going to fill that spot because as much as people would always be like. Get this off my tv. The clips would always go viral because of like a meghan mccain or something right it's low key kinda wack that you have a show with whoopie goldberg on it but for most people. It's only relevant because of john mccain's daughter that's up. She has an oscar. You know what i'm saying. It's awful but yet that's another thing that frustrated me so much about ebony. That was when i started to censor in authenticity right because to be conservative in america and the way it's practice in america conservatism is necessarily anti-black right. So for this woman to be what i'm guessing. Now is a conservative woman based on the evidence that we have for auditioning for the conservatives on the view when white people try to destroy a black person talking about race they go into your history and they found all these clips of ebony on fox sort of saying trump isn't racist or defending positions that are in congress with this woke sensibility that she had she. She was just disappointing and it was very frustrating. She admitted on camera that her mother voted for trump in two thousand sixteen but then he or she was in and she admitted that she also didn't vote for hillary clinton in two thousand sixteen..

"A slow climb back to being who he is now. But let's not let's start out with. Let's give some credit. He's the multi-million mega giant super box office draw. Let's give shame black little credit first of all because for those of you who shame black is he was a writer director of this movie. But you may remember him from his writing credits. Such as lethal weapon lethal weapon to lethal weapon. Three lethal weapon for the monster squad. The last boy saw last action hero. The log and iron man three most recently. I mean the guy. Doc savage movie. Yeah the guy is nearly need. We say prolifically brilliant with action movies that are not too much brainpower but still smart enough that it'd be interested. No i mean literally like james memento but yeah but they're fun they're quotable and you want to rewatch them more than once. Yeah i definitely agree with that. I mean this is. This is again. What are those. I watch what suzanne and even she turned to me every watching it was like. Why haven't we seen this until now. Those that know the plot robert downey junior plays a small time crook break in running from a botched break into a toy store and he winds up in a casting call for a thief so they want they want him to do a reading of his his what was it is partner getting killed yet. He was reading for was actually a private. I his gary here. Yeah yeah yeah. So he winds up on he winds up getting cast for this and sent over val kilmer whose plays gay perry Private investigator in hollywood. And he's supposed to teach robert downey junior the ropes and just that alone sounds great. I mean and that's fine. The this might be my two favorite roles for those actors. Just the quintessential fuck up that robert downey junior is and bell kilmer playing a flamboyantly gay p. i who is also an ultra at ash. I don't think he was at flamboyant more fully embrace it if you needed you know. The moment called for unity. What he wasn't tied up. And he's he's egging on the tormentor guy when he's tied up to get him close enough to shoot him yeah he he's going over the top but that that scene where robert downey junior. I goes into the casting office. And he's just been shot lightly and he's acting. I mean that whole scene is brilliant. And all the interplay between him and kilmer just is phenomenal. You just watch them. Go back and forth for two hours and i would have been fine how we just over and over keeps call it and buy new ways to call him an idiot role guy. Yeah and perry had a lot of great great quotes and the ones like you. Don't get to you. this isn't good cop bad cop. This is a new yorker. You're in a lot of trouble. Just hang everything..

"I was so excited watching this movie again for the first time in a while seeing them use the drill because i have been playing payday to of video game about robbing banks and the thermal drill is a basic tool for drilling bank vaults like oh my god. I've been using the same drill. They're using die hard for like the last three days. What does day. Yeah paid eight eight eight a you would love this game pat because you play. It's a game where you're playing the highest. You have to get in rob the bank and get out sort. Robbing i'm like what what game. Yeah the problem is that the first person view is for so you would never enjoy it. You yourself yeah. I basically the idea is you're supposed to be able to with three of your friends. Plan this awesome heist and maybe the cops get called at the end. What really happens. Is you fuck up a heist in the first five minutes and then back like basically playing zombie shooting game except instead of zombies. It's cops so basically yes. Yeah pretty much josh. I have a great idea. we have to. We have to capture the four of us playing payday together. Because i'm sure it'd be all the voice chat alone will be worth. It would be fun. I bought it because it was fifty five percent off and collect the next fourteen and a half hours on steam my on awesome aright swell roundtable thumbs up thumbs down. I'm assuming it's all thumbs. Easily to quote jay. Three thumbs up now. The only the only time this movie ever made me like you know upset. With the incompetent villain people was when they were chasing john mccain and ahead him located in the vents and all they did was just like shoot like twelve. Fourteen bullets says the bullets are not made of gold. Just just riddle the air bins with bullets. And you'll get him right. There were willing to shoot all the glass..

Be okay sure all right so all you ninety two thousand people if you're listening to feel superior Also the most Number one board game of christmas time in one thousand nine hundred with scattergories a fun game. Yeah christmas movie. Nineteen eighty. Eight star bruce willis as officer john maclean bonnie body delia as halley. Genero mclean and reginald. L. johnson of Family matters family matters almost had family ties. That would have been entertaining to the guy that michael keaton worked with the station. Tackle see gross retinal johnson as alan rickman in his first in his film debut and his yes and that is a little known fact. That people don't realize that was this film babe you're absolutely correct. And he was amazing. Yes he was on. My mom has a weird crush on him. Like weird creepy crush him. L. alexander good enough as the tall blonde dude. Carl carl yeah also well. He was also robert. He was a ballet dancer. Yeah he was in the money pit. When he's fighting. Bruce willis i this guy's ranges so good he can play this bad guy who's kicking ass and he can also play like a conductor of an orchestra who as far as i know they don't kick any ash. One of my favorite character actors is also pretty far down the castle on this al leong. Oh yeah yeah pretty much. You know that she's going down if either along. Or danny trae. Ho is on the scene. Yeah well daddy starting to get out of that a little bit but yeah and don't forget the had a character named split by. Yes thank yeah. I think of his name but i just the name argyle is no win situation and then there was also that i wanna give honorable mention to the woman in the airport wearing white skin tight pants that jumped on the guy yoga pants before their time. Really doesn't take much for your pet. No joke for that. i just know it. I'm like mckay to want me anyway. Actually talked about that in in one of my stand up gigs about you know how you know. I'll be making a sandwich. I'll stick the knife in the management if you take. It was all right so diehard new york city detective. John maclean becomes the only hope for a small group of hostages.
