"To not be here tomorrow. But now it looks like we're going to be here tomorrow. So will we might be here? I don't know you don't we should do. We should go down to the field. And as Jack and Jerry start talking just go, boo. Elbow out of the way and say won't take over boys because David are both of the same mind. We hate not knowing just tell us we're doing the show. We're not doing the show out. No, I have no idea what the weather's going to be lousy tomorrow. So right now, I'm guessing that we will be here doing the show either way were fine, which is like certainty. That's all asking for a little bit of certainty. So wanna talk today about what's going on with Trump and the border because the once again, sometimes I gauge in an issue because I want to see how the media is going to cover it, right and Trump fired Kirstin Nielsen the department of homeland security chair it has been widely known. This is no secret that Trump has been extremely unhappy with her performance as DHS secretary when it comes to the border. And so he is now fired her put in another person he is apparently preparing to go in heavy at the border. Now, I don't know what that means for this situation, but he is done with a hundred thousand illegal immigrants coming over the border in one month, which is what just happened. Now. I can make an argument all day long that a surge at the border at this moment in time is the response. Ability and blame of the Democratic Party in this nation, their refusal to give any money to begin a border fence sends a very strong message that they are never gonna enforce the border as long as Donald Trump is president very clear message. There's no hidden anything there. And don't think that message is not getting to Guatemala, Nicaragua. Mexico all of these other places in central Latin America where people are coming up here in the hopes of getting some kind of asylum. So they can have a better life. I don't blame them. I mean, if my country was a dumpster fire like many of theirs, are I cannot blame them for wanting to pursue a better option. And it's creating a humanitarian crisis on the border a hundred thousand people coming over at El Paso, roughly in the last month. They do not have the infrastructure to deal with that. And now they're housing people literally in tiny cages while they're trying to figure out how to process these people as fast as possible. I have a. Theory. I have an idea, and this is why I'd never be a politician to passive aggressive. Search shipping. Those people up to Washington DC and make camps in Georgetown. Could you imagine Dave let's just fed up tents in Georgetown. We'll we'll have huge migrant processing centers right smack in the middle of DC. In the neighborhoods of Democrats that live there. I mean, you know, what you think this is great idea. Good live with it. Right in your yard because the people of Texas had been dealing with it for a very long time. But back to I started following this in the first place. So the media genuinely doesn't understand why Donald Trump is in the words of someone. I saw on CNN yesterday quote obsessed with the border now when someone says he's obsessed with this that's a negative. You're obsessed with someone who does not love you back. You're obsessed with a video game or you're obsessed to this. And it's all to the detriment of everything else. They really don't understand that Donald Trump more than any political figure in my lifetime. That I am aware of is checking off the boxes of his campaign promises. He this is a guy who said, look, I promise Steph on the campaign trail, and I'm gonna do it. And he knows he can't do anything about ObamaCare because John McCain screwed him, absolutely hard. John McCain in an f you to Donald Trump absolutely screwed the American people because he was a petty and small jerk. I don't care if he's dead. He was a petty and small jerk when he did that that was our best opportunity to get rid of ObamaCare, and he craft all over it. But Donald Trump is not going to give up on the border because he knows that this is incredibly important to the people who elected him. This is not a no big deal campaign. Promise doesn't mean anything. We didn't expect you to do it. Anyway. This is serious business and the media is baffled by this. But that take that one step further. So the media is honestly completely confounded by the fact that president wants to keep his campaign promises. They've never seen it. It's so unusual. It's so crazy. It's it's. It's a depressing commentary on what we expect from our politicians when you get right down to it. Yes. Dave the intrepid now have had he not done anything about it been elected. And just forgot about it. They'd be screaming. Why isn't any politician is in keeping his campaign promises as they be totally against it? But they be going after if we had an alternative universe. We could see it. The coverage is been insane. It's it's been insane about Stephen Miller. Stephen miller. Now, there's now they'll the line of thinking is there's a white supremacist in the White House in it. Stephen miller. No, it's not really it. Really isn't. I may not agree with everything. Stephen Miller says or does, but I will tell you this. Stephen Miller makes a very strong case for a strong southern border and a nice streamlined immigration process for people who want to come here legally if that makes them a white supremacist, okay? Makes a lot of people white supremacists. Then doesn't it? We'll continue this conversation. Three zero three seven one three eighty five eighty five after we talked to Dave hunter.

"We'll start with. We'll start with the border because that is in the news today and Thurston Nielsen homeland security secretary was before congress and talking about the number of people and whether or not they're they're they're pitching congress on this is a crisis. So vote for do not do not vote against the president's national emergency declaration. That's what they're doing. But the bottom line out of all of this is I don't care whether the president declared a national emergency or not quite bluntly. It comes down to what's really going on. What is really going on at the border and? It sounds like. And this was where there was all this testimony about the fact that oil while we're at the we're at the low point of of immigration violations in deck. I mean, it's been it's been going down down down. Now, it's really down. Well, that was maybe from the information just a few months back a late two thousand eighteen but it's I don't know if this is all made up hocus pocus to try to scare is. But the numbers are are what they are. And and I take Kirstin Nielsen is not testifying before congress with fake numbers. So does she ratcheted up? Of course, she does. She says we pay a crisis. And that's what they're there to talk about is all this business about a crisis. But when you go through it. They're talking about the fact that the well, this is at a news conference earlier today the customs and border patrol Commissioner, Kevin machelandon Mackel Leinen. Kevin says the border patrol limits are being strange Seventy-six thousand total apprehensions in a missile arrivals in a four week month in February that's the highest number of encounters in any February in the last twelve years, we have apprehended encountered more families in just five months and five days than last year's record total. The system is well beyond capacity and remains at a breaking point. Yeah. So it's this business about what what's going on is things have changed at the border. It's it's not Mexicans. It is which what years ago, it was primarily Mexicans that were coming into the coming in legally illegally. However, they could get in. Right next door. Wasn't that far wasn't that hard? But that has slowed way way down are there some still coming? Yes. But that number has decreased dramatically, and you know, where the coming from. We get the stories all the time, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, all these Central American countries. And the other thing is it's not only Central America. But just about every report that you follow. It doesn't matter who the reporter is lefty righty doesn't matter. They're talking about the this massive influx of families before it seemed like the strategy was uncle one you go and get yourself into America and get yourself all set up get a job in back or way back was uncle one go there, and and and get a temporary job and send the money back and the whole idea behind trying to do some sort of legalized deal. Was to allow for people to come here. Work part-time, make some money and bring it back home. Go home with your money. The weird part about all of this immigration and border control. Is that the people at the border that are crossing the immigrants that are coming in illegally. A lot of them. And again, this is from many many different sources over the last couple of years is that they used to come in and they would work with temporary green card or they would work illegal. And they would make their money, and then they would go home, and then they needed some more money. So. Uncle one would go back to America get another job and turn around and then bringing money back home again, and it would and he would do that on a regular basis. That was kind of the system was go make some money and then come home. So the rap is that the more we cracked down on the border. Uncle one had a hard time getting back home and then coming back up to make some more money. So what did he do he stayed here he stayed here? And like any person says I missed my family. So he would send for his family and spouse, the kids, the cousins brothers and sisters. They would all they would all figure out a way to come here. A nice scattered around the country. So they they weren't just working within a couple of hundred miles of the border. They were they were in Ohio in Maine and Michigan all over the country doing all kinds of jobs, not not just farmworker jobs. I mean, working in factories and a bunch of places. So the more we cracked down on the border, the more it made for the people who were able to come here make some money and go home. Seasonally or come here. Two or three times a year make some money and go home. Stayed. So now, the shift has gone from the fact that one guy would come get the money set up a household some sort of living in the shadows. But doing something to be able to live here and bring a family here to the point where that was primarily Mexicans. But now, the the central Americans are looking at the border and going no I want to be able to get there. But I don't why I can't go back Central America. It's not right next door. That's a long trek through Mexico, and it's time time consuming and expensive. So I'm just going to bring my family and the word is out that if you come as a family, the border patrol will treat you differently than they will if you're a single male. So what's happening is? We are getting people who are policy is is to basically, let them stay. But the metal processing center somewhere. Back to this news conference today about this testimony before congress the chief of operations for the border patrol. Brian Hastings says yeah. It's many more families and the medical and distribution costs are astronomical currently US border patrol is sending an average of fifty five people per day for medical care. During december. This was his highest sixty three. We're on track to refer approximately thirty one thousand individuals for medical treatment this year as compared to twelve thousand last fiscal year. Yeah. All these numbers that were being thrown around today are dramatically more twelve thousand for medical care last year. Thirty three thirty one thousand this year. Cureton Nielsen said to the members of the committee. We have a border patrol problem that is out of control, and it's very real. We must fix the system. Today's migrant flows have created a humanitarian catastrophe our capacity is already severely restrained. But these increases will overwhelm the system entirely. This is not a manufactured crisis. This is truly an emergency. All right. So keep in mind that on one hand she's trying to sell congress on the fact that this is an emergency. Hence that is why the president sign is national emergency declaration, which they're going to try and overturn and probably will be successful in doing. So and then the president will veto it and you'll have his his national emergency. But I mean, you'd listen to these numbers, and I don't care what your politics are on this. This is just simply of unless you are an open border person, doesn't it seem like. We're being taken advantage of. Congress will not fix the rules presidents have try Barack Obama and Donald Trump have tried using executive authority. Technically, I don't believe that is legal. I think you have congress is the one who has to pass immigration law and the problem with passing immigration law. Is that the law whatever they've last passed on the books that the immigration problem has changed? It's not the same. Yes, we still have the drugs and the drug traffickers and whoever took over El Chapo business is still sending truckloads of drugs into the country every day. But last month you heard the border patrol Commissioner last month. They caught seventy six thousand in just the month of February. That's it seventy six thousand in one month. That is more than double February of two thousand eighteen. So here's to Nielsen said the problem's going to get worse as to whether it gets better. I don't know about that. Seems to me if I was trying to sneak into this country. I would try and come one it's not so hot. I know I know it gets really cold in the desert at night. But a lot of people die out there going across these barren open areas in northern Mexico. In southern new Wes. But a lot of them what they're doing as well. And I'm not sure why they say seventy six thousand were apprehended if you see this no matter where you turn any any news network that following the border patrol. They're not chasing these these people if they've come over the fence. The border patrol officers stand there and wave at these people and the people smile away back and come over because they turn themselves in because they know that if they turn themselves in that they everything will be taken care of. They already know all of this. So there's no more chastened know when we say seventy six thousand migrants were apprehended last month, I'm thinking, well, how many were not apprehended start thinking twice tobacco. Maybe that was that was it. Every bet they got everybody because nobody runs from the border patrol. There's no reason to run for them. They're the people were going to give you all these health benefits and everything else. Is it a real emergency eight five five two nine five sixty six hundred vineyards that.

"You run more efficiently as Freightliner's number one goal. You know, having the discussion that if the president decided to go that route and one wonders if only eight minutes, you know, what is that's all he has asked for what is he going to do is you're going to get on there and say, look, I'm willing to sign a the whatever spending your this particular spending Bill that they sent me without the border wall funding because I'm going to put through an executive order. This is a national emergency. And we are going to we are going to, you know, a bilby the wall at that point. And at that point, it goes to the courts, right, and you and I got into some discussion as to what constitutes a national emergency because in order to build a wall you have to go through people's private property. You have to go through eminent domain. There are clear things that are a national emergency. If another country is coming through your borders. And we're not talking about citizens crossing were talking an army. You could look at that. And say, okay that, you know, congress as you know, and the constitution has given the president in clear. Instances of national security that he can do something. And so if you had let's do the red dawn scenario, right? Can think of right right is in red dawn did some of the Central American communist, come up through Mexico? I believe through Texas. That's how they that's how they they. And Canada from the north. Yeah. Candidate came from Canada from the I forgot the war. I forgot what the war games were for red. And by the way, we're not talking about the modern version of red that the North Koreans. No, no, no, no, Patrick swayze's version. Yes. The Patrick Swayze. Yes. Dare you. Introduce anyone introduce any thought of a horrible remain and the powers Boothe. Yes. Yeah. But and and and so, you know, you you could look at that and say, okay. Yeah, we're clearly being invaded by another country know, eminent domain, a huge wall goes up barriers. Well, forget about a huge wall. Military vehicles on your property without your permission because whereas at that point you're in a state of emergency in essence urine martial law that point. Okay. So here's my question. Because you would need Kirstin Nielsen and numbers from the department of homeland security.
