"It's very interesting. There are three par fives on Pebble Beach. Okay. He doesn't birdie any of them yesterday. Now he didn't blow up on any of them the way we McElroy did. But it across the four rounds. That's twelve par-fives. He birdied three of them, and this is a big strong guy who usually dominates par fives. And I really thought and Mitch watched every minute of this because he was drawn to it because it was a great sports event yesterday. Mitch I thought he squandered so much momentum at number six, when, when he hits a perfect drive on the par-five. I think he had a four in his hand there and he hits. Short right, and doesn't make birdie because if he birdies there who knows what he does the rest of the way. Yeah. I mean he came out of the gate on fire and continues to do that. It's a domino effect who knows what effect that has woodland and all the rest, but he didn't do it. And he's he is he's fun to watch. And I hope that they continue to market him. And you know, take away a little of the energy that they're putting into Tiger Woods when he's clearly out of it, and put it into CAPCO because he's fun to watch. And right now he's playing on fire, you know. And once again, the Tiger Woods machinery that wants to prop him up at all costs, because there's money in. It is celebrating that had a good back nine after after crapping out when he started. Okay who gives a crap you know, when he finished at minus two soda soda countless other other players as well. And now they're talking about. So he took that that's going to be great momentum going into the British Open. Oh, please to be no minimum. He's not even going. Play between now and the British Open Mitch. I was watching him this week. And there's a big tiger fan, friend of mine, and I said to him that masters going to turn out to be Brigadier. Okay. It's like the little town that came to life, every hundred years. Okay. Maybe he can gear his early year next year to playing Gusta, because that's the kind, of course where you don't get penalized and for missing fairways, but he he can't play courses like this anymore. I'm sorry. And I know he's got this conservative strategy, and he's not afraid to hit longer irons than everybody else. I don't know. Royal Portrush is going to be like, but he was rusty going into the PGA he's going to be rusty going into the British Open. And this idea that went in the masters is going to now kick start him to getting to nineteen majors. No, it's not. Well, it's worth mentioning that as you pointed out the KEPCO had four rounds in the sixties and didn't win not only didn't win. He lost by three strokes. And the guy who won beat Tiger Woods record by stroke in the year two thousand. When you remember Tiger Woods left everybody else, they might as well not have even come out on Sunday. Right. And. And everyone thought, well who's going to ever gonna ever do that? Well, Gary woodland just did it one better. Do you hear any any fuss over Gary woodland that way to you hear that kind of crazy? No. Of course not. You know, people still be talking about Tiger Woods in two thousand instead of remembering Gary will score. That's how good what Gary woodland did was. And that's how close books keping funny was woodland about why when he finally turn the page on college basketball, and he was he couldn't guard Kirk Hinrich anything. I gotta find something else to do. Well, this guy has a has a really I didn't know him before the tournament..

"The way. I if the playoffs started today, they really they square off with the Sixers in the first round first round series. Funny average class should be. I don't wanna see the Celtics and the Sixers in the first round, though, I know is it Indiana. That's throwing it tell third seed, but they're only a half game ahead of the Sixers at this point. And you have to think without all the depot that they're gonna they'll come back to the pack. I came in positive about some some of the things I saw this weekend from the bulls Lowry marketing continues to be really good and Zach Levine's getting better. I think the only one that we're just completely down on his Chris done. I think I think we both know that Chris done isn't the solution. Any of the bulls? I was really excited about his potential. He's long he's athletic. He plays good defense. But I mean there was about a month ago or whenever it was. I just kind of watching play and it was like. You know, he needs to be more of a facilitator unless I gotta get my own. You know what I mean? Because he can't he doesn't do a great job getting his own, right? You you always hate when guy wants to shoot. And he's not a good shooter right shooter. Really good defensive player of you would work on being a facilitator, we may have something here because you want to try and get your own as well. No. Yeah. Especially when you've got Levin and porter marketing, right? I don't need done getting his with his inability to get his when he wants you know, what I'm so totally and I was tweeting with see red Fred over the weekend. I said I go Fred Don in trae young are the polar opposite players. It's funny because they were both lottery point guards drafted fifth overall not far apart. Trae young is slight and skinny Chris. He's big and strong. He's got an MBA built trae young doesn't play any defense. Chris done takes a lot of pride in being a good defensive point guard. That's where the strains for done go away Christiaan can't shoot and he doesn't make his teammates better. Trae young can chew and he makes everybody on the court better. And you're just seeing the huge differences in their game. And I believe like all this talk about Lowery market in and. Whether Robin Lopez makes them better as soon as they do find a real point guard one that will make the offense go they will get the ball in Lowery marketings hands where he will be able to get the shots easier right instead of having to create his his own show. I'd be interested to see whether or not Chris done could morph into somebody who's not interested in getting his own and be better as a facilitator as opposed to trying to be a score off the bench who could defend and you could bring in and play twenty twenty five minutes. Yeah. Yes. Exactly. But he's not going to be. He he doesn't shoot it. Well enough from behind the arc shooting thirty five percent. But he he doesn't finish the way the Jack thing finishes. So who is he what is he doing, you know, he just made multiple threes and back to back games for the first time in his career? He's a point guard in this NBA and he's hit right three. Erickson for audio man before we get to the phones. And if you wanna weigh in up three three two three seven seven six so he did the poll question, which best describes how you currently feel about the bulls rebuild because some people are starting to sweat it. They're seeing some optimistic things. But then the Michael Reinsdorf interview comes out, and it makes me what are the three options. I gave you angst optimism or don't care. Abdullah voted angst. I voted optimism where do you? I know. Right in the middle. Yeah. You too much. I care too much. I would have to be then more towards Ang's than optimism. The building has always been that. My my mantra my question. Pull it after this Article K by say. How much how much did you vote? Was it swayed me, my whole temperament has been changed by this article. And we have an again, I we have a request in. We've had it in for a few weeks to talk to Michael I've I've met and talked to Michael Reinsdorf about a handful of times he in person is a super guy. They just wrote an article on the F Lennox saw that about a fan who is displeased and Michel invited him to the game again this. But again, this isn't about guys being guys. I've I have a great respect for John Paxson. He's been very very good my family. But again, we're talking in the sports contacts, and I wish Michael would pop on. And when he says the quote in this will John Paxson gar form and be back next season, and he answers. Absolutely. We believe they've done a great job. I know that in this market with some of our fans in some in the media. They look at it differently that perplex. X's me. I would like to explain some of that to Michael Ryan store in person or on the radio. Let's talk, and then this is back to the interview. Let's talk about them individually. Because there's that's another thing. I don't understand why they're referred to as car packs when they have different job responsibilities, and the reason why people confuse them as no one knows what their duties are one minute cars in the background the next minute. He's running the team the next minute. He's in hiding again. One minute packs is running the franchise the next minute. He doesn't wanna talk and supposedly Hoiberg just hired because of gar and then now Packers re sort of asserted himself, and that would be less of an issue if they were winning consistently and the plan seemed consistent and the the plane was going in the right direction. You really wouldn't care as much about who ultimately is sitting in the pilot's chair. And who's sitting in the co pilots chair? Right. I tell you all the time the jet in THEO are two different guys both speak. But there you always know where the buck stops the buck stops on Theo's desk. Theo you blame for chat would feel you blame for. Hey, I don't think we've ever said about jed jed what a horrible free agent decision. It all comes down McLeod is at a huge role in drafting. But it's the buck stops with the and and listen jet may have had the loudest voice in the room speculating about Darvish in THEO said. Yeah, you know, what let's do this. Ultimately, though, THEO is the one that will receive the praise when the the decision is successful and he'll receive the criticism when the decision is not success. Right. So I would say that to Michael, Michael. This is the reason you guys have created this narrative, then no one knows who's responsible for what? So that's I'm you guys number two in the. The first paragraph when you raves about why John has done a good job, John Paxson. And again, it is not all bad. There's lots of good in his you've been the GM slash VP for sixteen seventeen years. This is what Michael says John is our vice president of basketball operations he took over in two thousand three and orchestrated. Our I rebelled he inherited a team and made a lot of different trades. He drafted Kirk Hinrich. Let's start there. In John paxton's first draft. Kirk Hinrich was a nice player for the balls. And as I've told you John Paxson is built nice teams. Forty eight win teams. Kirk Hinrich is a forty eight win player. The bulls were presented with a trade where they could trade up and get Dwayne Wade John Paxson loved Dwayne Wade what he did for Marquette in that final four. Remember, he took them to the final four John Paxson wanted. Dwayne Wade here dented that being the guy. There was a path for the bulls to go up and get Toronto's pick Toronto wanna Donyell Marshall. John Paxson said you can't have dial Marshall he's too important for a rebuilt. Donyell Marshall never did a thing. Again. The bulls got captain Kirk and Wayne Wade became an NBA finals MVP and a first ballot hall of Famer that's one. Okay. So that's one in the first paragraph where you raves about your vice president I could pull a flaw with his very first move. He goes on we spent three million dollars in a trade with Phoenix. So we could draft Ben Gordon and wall dang in the same draft. He ended joke Kim Noah we signed a top free agent and Ben walls in two thousand six let's stop there. I would explain to Michael Reinsdorf. Why have I turned on this front office because they've created a bad culture year in year out? No matter who the players are every year, the players in coaches and front office are always fighting. The bulls went out, and they signed Ben Wallace whose trademark was the big headband can't shoot doesn't score. But also where the head had been popular player because he's. Changing the landscape type defensive guy. Great rebound rate rebounder. And he's known for the headband. The bowls of a rule where they don't allow headbands to be worn in the first month that you signed Ben Wallace you've benched him in Madison Square Garden, I was at the game because he refused to take off his headband. These are the silly fights. The John Paxson Ingar foreman. Have continued to go at year-in-year-out. Whether it's fighting with your new free agent acquisition in Ben walls with his headband. Whether it's fighting with Vinny and grabbing his tie. Whether it's finding Tom Theban in fighting with him, whether it's then not having a coaching search and hiring Fred Hoiberg because he's boys with gar Forman. And then by the end of his run gar, and Fred aren't talking when Michael Reinsdorf says, I don't know where this is coming from. I can give you tangible evidence not in one year, not cherrypicking, but throughout the history of this front office as why they continue to create drama. So that's why my temperament changes when the CEO and president comes out with this interview. And in his first paragraph. You could pick out the the vital flaws and why they can't build a championship. He thinks he read Fred fields. Fred, you're on ESPN one thousand. What's up? How oh guys. I love you. But I'm already angry with your tirade there. I'd like to point out bilby. Drafted Kirk Hinrich of Jay Williams. Didn't almost lose his way a week before the draft if easy to say he should have got outweighed we've launched our starting point guard who a motorcycle accident. That he wanted. Wade. They had a data trade on the table. And he couldn't Donyell Marshall too good for the culture. They couldn't part with them. Wade Williams didn't get hurt. That's my point. It's so easy to look back. If they why did he do it. We point guard any say well now, we have we have another asset that just out the window. And that's what happened. I mean, you gotta look at the whole situation. So graphic Kirk Hinrich because Jay Williams got her any passed on Dwayne later. I bowed all Famer, and you're defending that I'm not I'm not defending it. I'm just saying it's a little bit more complicated. You look at the situation when Williams hurt his way that's really caused that to happen. Very agree with you. I'm not a Heinrich's fan. But a lot of people are co you know, regardless it's move onto the the partying leviathan. Let's talk about that. I wanna point out something Sylvia about the path. I'm to defend the beer. Hey, every single move. Since this rebuilding has begun for the most part has been met with irritation to outrage. All right. Let's look at it Butler trade. Outrage the marketing pick over Dennis Smith, junior general outrage anger Wendell junior people wanted to trade off again mogambo being restricted free. Agency matched. You remember? All anger and outrage this past summer for that. How 'bout junior trade the holiday treats almost every move this guy?.

"Hello, welcome. Duke left a podcast week. It's the same old themes. We talk about the NBA Andrew we still subscribe between nineteen we still subscribing twenty nine hundred. It's still called Brian Windhorst click, Brian I also want you to know that there were many many loyal fans that I've bumped into over the weekend, and they're quite curious as to why you're unable to remember the name of your own podcast. Do you think it's unable to remember? Do you think I'm doing it for a reason? Where were you at when you bumped into these loyal fans out on the streets? You know in the world Amanda in these streets in these streets. In New York City today, joining us is Tim Bontemps who was at the Knicks game yesterday. One of the finest games in the NBA yesterday, Nick six one way to describe it and tonight. Celtics Knicks Celtics nets Celtics nets sands, Kyrie Irving. Yeah. We'll talk about that later. Joining us in Austin, Texas. Home of the longhorns is Kirk gold's berry. I so I always when I always think of Kirk I think of Kirk Hinrich, and drew Gooden telling me story, this must have been different age in recruiting coverage. But. One time. I was at a bull's game. When when I was covering drew Gooden. He was with the Cavs. And he saw Kirk Hinrich. And he said what's up Kurt? Like, see you are teak, Kurt what's up Kurt? And I go, wait a minute. He played with him at Kansas. He's got to know that his name is Kirk not Kurt right? But he sort of said it like impasse. What's going on? And so like, I think about it. And then they played the bulls. Again, a couple of weeks later, he did it again, we call them Kurt. I heard him call him Kurt. And so I got home, and I go drew how come you call Kirk Hinrich, Kurt. And he goes, oh when when he came to Kansas, we all thought his name was Kurt. And we call them Kurt for like a whole season. And I go impossible wasn't like a high level. You're Kansas wasn't some summer camp. Like all the Kansas kids are like five stars. Like what about when they introduced him at the games and said from wherever wasn't Iowa, Kurt Heinrich. He goes. Yeah. We all thought his name was Kurt. So I don't know. This is a good thing. So let me ask you to do people. Call do people ever call you Kurt? Oh, yeah. It's about a forty percent chance anytime somebody utters my name coming Kurt and shadow till the Kurtz out there because I'm sure they get the the vice versa. They get the Kirk and for all the kirks out there. Yeah. We get called corrupt. I've made the choice not to get. It's just a long. Well, that's my word of wisdom, Kurtz, and the kirks. Just don't get mad. You know what I'm saying? I didn't know this such a plague our society. Right. That's what every time. I like order like, Starbucks or order anything. I say what that you name? I say, Brian then he comes back, and it's written Ryan, I'm very excited for the people that listen to this part and can't distinguish the difference between Kirk and Kurt. Why are they saying the same thing twice over and over? Anyway, so doubtedly came Kurt Heinrich became Kirk, Hinrich nickname. I thought it was a stupid nickname because it's not any shorter. I thought nickname had to be shorter and Kirk you were saying that the NBA in your opinion is in a dire situation with nicknames right now. From my perspective. We have so many great superstars right now. And very few of them have a nickname. That's up to par. The for their level of contributions like watching hardened go crazy for the last few weeks. It's like shouldn't we have a nickname for this guy that we all love? He does have a nickname. Yeah. Hit it hit me with it. What is it? Well, they call them the beard. It does it's a weird nickname because the something is a weird nickname. But I mean, he does have a nickname. And if you look up guy on basketball reference, for instance, they they have nicknames and nobody ever uses any of them and some of them..

"Because this offer ends on Friday. Do assume cheer is. So speaking of the Celtics they still stink as the patriots. My word. I sniff that one out ahead of time. I wasn't too. I don't know man, Mary Oden Stafford and one year. I don't know. They want six straight coming into that game. Then losing that doesn't bother me to they won't lose the rest of the year. I don't feel like darnold. Mike get hot. Is even gonna play at oak not. He's terrible. Gotta go. Pittsburgh, you know, they've had your number for years decades. So. Eight. I mean, I don't. It would be lucky to make the playoffs at this point. Sheesh. A hot seat. Kyri said that the Celtics today fourteen or fifteen year veteran help rally the troops. The fuck you talking. I wonder what years those drafters correlate to all. Right. All right. What the hell does he won with Chris came in around? Jared Jeffries making his triumphant return to the lake boy. Yes, the veteran presence. We all needed Omar cook back backup point guard. Kirk Hinrich getting. I listen, I think so bash until fair will give this team the punch in the arm at need. Smiling shot in the gun joke, folks. So for a murderer delete this. I. I mean with kyri never tell the fucking saying. But like Al Horford had to read that and be like I've been in the league for thirteen years with the hey, man. Yeah. To fail to tooth at spring chicken. Al Horford just doesn't have the gumption or wherewithal to break it this team out of this. I'm looking so this is year living for warford. It does feel like longer. I got does fill hold his AOL. It. Sure. That's like they won those two national championships back to back. So that's why I consider it like longer because he was playing forty games a year in college. Jeez. And that. Yeah. As peace like hawks about in the playoffs. I think like every year of his career other than maybe like one. That was a good draft. I'll never mind scroll down a drift stunk now at a good top. Yeah. Hoof? And yeah, I. Would prefer Carmelo Anthony was not on the Celtics though, boy, you might not have a choice. I feel like I say, I I don't I don't know how to end with him Philly right now is the front runner. Yuck. Is that a fix those shooting woes? That's what I need. I need mellow on Philly. He's basically doing what he did last year. This is in less if he comes off the bed when is coming off the business still not good correct to be fair. Houston is not good. So I'm not playing native known as directors that team is bed, very bad. But I don't know would would Philly. Is that what they need? He'd like need the bone Zandt. He's a good shooter space for you. So if he's going to be free than maybe. But I believe he's getting bought out. Yeah. It feels like he's probably played his last game for them. Right. And it's also like what could Houston possibly command in trade for. Right. I will let you protect the top three. With Elton brand on the other end of the phone, buddy. Yeah. No. Yeah. And what kind of veteran leadership would mellow be bringing to the Celtics right now. Like that doesn't seem like the type of leadership that this team mates somebody's as you know, what that's not fair because Jimmy Butler being a real dickhead like Mellish's bad at basketball. I don't think he's. Lease a bad guy. Weller might be a bag might be my certainly a bad teammate with the. Like melon, another guess think so bad he's locker room cancer. That's how bad he is on the on the basketball court. It may be. I mean Houston was fucking best team illegal regular season last year. They did. I mean, they lost players, but their biggest splash was bringing in mellow and now. Wonderful. That ain't his fault. He he just got invited. He just showed up. Oh, I mean showed up putting it lightly. I'm six men now. I I don't know what happens with mellow. Not Wayne Wade has been voicing his support. Stealing money. Correct. It's all yeah. It's great. Lebron was voicing his support. Him on the Lakers will be tremendously funny that would be very funny. They already have the photo shops ready Elliott. Six us. Sixes like half of how long they've been ready..

"Because that's ideally what Tim rolls I'm sure should be working towards is getting better than the warriors. I mean last season we saw Jimmy Butler. Go down that team pretty much didn't know what to do without a day end up falling down as the eighth seed rather than become in the third seat and getting into the playoffs that way you lose to the. Rockets and your season's over now you got ten typical who's trying to bring on the wall. Dang. I mean guy said certain jobs. I mean reserve that certain job doesn't mean you're good at that certain job. So to that, they could be joke him, Noah. If that happens. I mean, just completely right. The timber wolves off Jimi Baldi leave next season because this joke, honestly. I mean, it's a circus out there. And as far as the Timberwolves this season, I mean, I don't think Lou all dang necessarily hurts them if they sign him, but is the pointless signing. You don't need Lou all dank. I don't understand it. I mean, do you dare rose there? You got Jimmy Butler. There. You get Taj Gibson, they're literally all your missing. Lou all. Dang in joke him, Noah. Maybe what Kirk Hinrichs currently doing. And. I mean, if this is the route that. That. Thompson wants to go. That's the route they're going to go just because he's the head coach. But either way, I mean. The timber wolves could be. So do so much better. I mean, yeah, looking towards roster, Derrick rose, Joe Cam ties, dang, Jimmy Butler. Maybe you see if Carlos boozer wants to come back into the NBA leave the big three. Say you're Kirk Hinrich on that team. I mean, it's ridiculous. It's on. It's kind of embarrassing. There. But we'll see what ends up happening. And as far as the timber was, I mean, leading them as far as how they stack up with these other teams in the west people do forget how good they work with Jimmy Butler. And once he went down, I mean, you look at towns, Wiggins aren't leaders right there, and those aren't guys that are going to Li like pope team, any better. I mean, yeah, they're great individual players, but Jimmy Butler is a guy who can't take a team to the playoffs. And we've seen it time and time again. So I'm looking at the west. They're not better than the warriors. I would take the, I take the warriors over. I would take the jazz over them. And I take the rockets over them. I, I have the Timberwolves being the fourth best team in the west right now. I'm not sure if these standings will replicate what I'm saying here. Just given the fact that. I mean. Maybe I don't think the timbers are that great if that's the case? No, I do see them being a better team. I mean, looking at right now as far as my west predictions, Golden State one Houston to the jazz, three than four. I mean, I, I don't know. Do I like Oklahoma City better than them. And I feel like a lot is being made about the timber wolves. Like, did you ever completely given up on experiment? I mean, we, I feel like people were talking as if the Timberwolves are going to be the next team to overthrow the warriors that's going to be the team who ends up eating. And. I just like everyone's kinda gotten off that narrative doubts, the jazz, maybe the Lakers, which is Larry's. But then as far as symbols go, I mean, it doesn't help the fact that the stars are playing forty plus minutes..

"But Michael Jordan didn't want to lose gray hill because the game was on the land rate, but he left the do that set the screen wide open and people like that. Won't happen. Steph curry back in the day now as a Houston, George shirt on literally, what did he say? Don't you? What's your trash. This is mine is home world was listening because I didn't hear what you said. Go to. What's what's yours as it as it the same. All right. Who you got to get. I'm going with the warriors. I'm rooting for the bulls. Why? Because I'm a boost. Why you I was born here is what has she cargo done for you? Chicago hasn't done anything. Okay. So what are you doing for them? I'm not doing anything you're running for them from here. That's part of the reasons biased. Now, the reason why am a boost fans. Because back in the day we didn't have no damn cable. So if we wanted to watch basketball, it was bulls games on channel. Nine w. that was that's that's when I started eleven basketball. So even though we want who was early teams size, Jamal, Crawford, Kirk Hinrich knows the only when I started watching those even before the Tyson Chandler years. I'm thinking about fucking. Demographer wasn't one of those squads. Griffin. I don't even remember the man, Adrian Griffin. Not even him though. It was another Griffin before that because I remember agent Griffith because I've seen him like Abyan Joe around a show on HBO. So I'm watching power. One watch some TV show in commercial, come home for the other shows new and is Jalen rose scare. I'm sorry that Jalen World world see, sing. look, oh, he won in ropy IRA. Flash screen. I'd come into HBO and September at in is just taking u. p. r. f. and he is crying talking about race and how diverse school. It is thing that what when when did they do this. Who who's your team. I wanna see LeBron with the heat. Like year two against last year's Golden State Warriors. So prime way LeBron bonds, I hate that he team because I think people give away. I hated them. I hated. I hated that. He team that I was on his. He was still all star, but he with people be trying to say he was LeBron still had to carry that team. But you have a lot more Hilton. He did. This drew. True. Question. No. Okay. Let's say damn these give us to the thirty thousand thirty nationally. Some the questions I'll be is..

"They can be aggressive if the right opportunity presents themself they just unfortunately haven't hit on these aggressive moves and like i said i was preparing so like the kirk hinrich thing to trade him for essentially nobody so they could open up this if i would say i would calculate bad it's a pretty aggressive move which you not i would but wouldn't you also characterize it as being a team that sold of avow a piece of value kirk hinrich decent career here at an all time low like you got nothing for kirk hinrich what are they count the cap space i mean that was that i mean the goal was still to sign lebron and you wait or potentially behind so they they put them and that's the thing i i get killed by my friends on this but i mean you just want to be putting position to be successful and i can feel like they continually put us in that position they don't always hit the home run to bring championship but as long as we keep being put in a position if he's successful i'm happy looking in badger the conversation that you listen to you reacted to was mean more saying that look they have not done well free agency so how could they do better going forward and my point was get bolder when one of these guys is upset at their front office the next kyri and sure enough over the holiday there was a tweet about anthony davis may be being down on his management because he was not informed about rondo leaving the team and so i get like in so badger tweeted about you know they got bold and they traded for tyrus thomas and they traded lamarcus aldridge and they got bold and they traded to picks for doug mcdermott and they got bold and they traded kirk hinrich for salary cap space but even though they're being bold those are terrible trades like you can't say well look soviet they got bold but it didn't work like those are brutal game changing trades trading kyle korver who still has value in this league for a trade exception where you never used it is a brutal front office move you got a trade for kevin garnett when he's on the block you've got a trade for one of these guys and that's all i'm saying i want the balls to look in the mirror and our trade for the next tyrus thomas but trade for the next established superstar who wants out of his city yeah there's no doubt about it hey this hour's brought to you by greatclips save time every time when you use.
