"WSB meteorologist Kirk Mellish has always parsing the numbers doing overtime. Here's blog wsbradiOcom this morning. You need to read up on that. And Kirke writing this morning about both the good news in the bad news. You're seeing in these latest. Outlooks in data from hurricane Florence. Yeah. The good news is that the weakening trend has continued overnight and through the early morning hours. Thanks to a little bit of an increase in wind share as well. As some we talked about this yesterday, some upwelling of cooler ocean waters from down deep to the surface as the storm churns around a little dry air at the mid levels, and that added wind chill wind shear all weakening the storm a little bit. The problem is it's also spreading out. So the size is very large. And that means that when you combine the large size with slow movement were still expecting catastrophic flooding and storm surge conditions that are going to last for days. So the news that the wind speed data middle of the storm is reduced some twenty miles an hour from yesterday is not impressive. You hear? No, definitely not because the strongest winds get too much attention and the category. Whether it's a four or five that looks very. Scary. But those wins would always be just in a small fraction of the hurricane which is hundreds of miles of cross four times the size of the state of Ohio, for example. And it's always the water in tropical systems that is a bigger problem than the wind responsible for seventy five percent of the deaths were tropical storms is water. Not win. And how things might look around here this weekend the five day forecast brought to you by Breda pest management. They handled bugs and critters Kirk. What are you thinking? Well for today Scott similar to yesterday. Rhonda thirty percent chance of a shower thunder shower today better chances north and west of the perimeter lower odds towards Athens and Covington Florence sinking ear actually helps dry us out tonight through Saturday morning, and then a few showers possible Saturday afternoon, increasing Sunday and Monday as the remnants of Florence get closer.
