I'm on a bunch of pop culture podcasts this week. Did a rewatchables on Monday night. We did Black Hat. Also was on the Big Picture. We did a big Denzel Washington movie draft. I got way too competitive. And then on Wednesday night, Amanda Dobbins and I on the Prestige TV Podcast, we broke down the first two episodes of season three of The Morning Show. The most ridiculous show on television, not just this year, but every year it's on. It just wins the title automatically. If they had a ridiculous show category at the Emmys, they wouldn't even have any of their nominees. I mean, maybe winning time would get nominated. I don't know. But Morning Show just clears it out. What a batshit, crazy, ridiculous show. Wow. It's really like they created a podcast thing so we could just break down the morning show. That's really, I think, the real reason behind podcasting in general. Coming up on this podcast, Million Dollar Picks and a little Vikes Eagles at the top. And then editor at large at the Ringer, Brian Curtis, who was also a giant Cowboys fan, comes on and talk about the Cowboys. Could this be the year? Keep saying that, but could this be the year? And we talked some NFL stuff. We talked some sports media stuff. We talked about documentaries and just all the stuff that happens when Brian Curtis comes on. Oh, we talked about Joe Buck and Troy Aikman as well, who have hit a really interesting milestone as a combo. So that happened. And then Kevin Hench, my buddy, the Red Sox fired their GM today, and we couldn't resist spending 20 minutes recapping. One of the four -year oddest, strangest four -year runs the Red Sox have ever had. And we're still in the middle of it. And I still don't understand why Mookie Betts isn't on the team but also like, man, since the 2018 World Series, the Red Sox have just been a hot dumpster fire. And I say that knowing that they almost made the World Series two years ago, but when you look at everything that happened, wow. So Hench comes on and talk about that. It is all next. First, our friends from Pearl Jam. ["Pearl Jam Theme Song"] All right, I'm taping this part of the podcast. It is 11 .31 East Coast time. East Coast Bill is here. East Coast Bill is in Boston. I was visiting my daughter and doing some other stuff. And Thursday Night Football came on and I thought it would be a great idea to do the top segment after Eagles Vikings. East Coast Bill fell asleep at halftime. It was a new record for me. I guess I'm old. I have another birthday coming up this week. This is why I live on the West Coast because I talk about sports for a living. And East Coast Bill gets a little sleepy when the game is kind of boring and plodding along. So East Coast Bill missed some time, had to catch up, had to do a little rewind. Fortunately, there's so many commercials. I was able to still watch anything, but the Eagles beat the Vikings. They're now 2 -0 on the season. And I would say it's an uninspiring 2 -0. They probably shouldn't have covered against the Pats. They could have lost. This game they win, they don't cover. I guess on the good side, the DeAndre Swift, they traded like a 15th round pick in 2038 for them. And this little way they put together their offense where they load up on wide receivers, they hit the jackpot with hurts, and then they just say, you know what we're going to do? Just grab running backs because there's 98 of them every year. We're just going to grab two and pay nothing for them. So offensively, they look great. Defensively, you saw it last week with the Pats. The Pats were able to throw it on them. Mack almost had 300 yards in the last three quarters of that game. This game, Kirk Cousins, over and over again, heroically going for the cover, finally gets it. The Vikings cover, they don't win. Home team's now 5 -12 against the spread this season. Underdogs are 10 -7 against the spread. But for the most part, not allowed to report, the Eagles just state. They messed around in the first quarter and then said, screw it, and ran the ball down Minnesota's throat. I was thinking, Eagles, Cowboys, if you were going to make a combined over or under for wins for them, and I gave you 26, would you go over or under 26 wins combined for the two teams? They're 3 -0 right now. I would probably go over, especially when you look at the NFC and you think Philly, Dallas, San Francisco, lock those three down. I like Green Bay, Detroit, maybe New Orleans, Atlanta, and maybe that's the seven for the playoffs. And then you have Tampa Bay and the Rams. Who knows what was real and what wasn't real. Tampa Bay beat Minnesota by three in week one. We're like, oh, Tampa Bay, that's interesting. But now Minnesota's 0 -2, maybe that doesn't even matter. Rams, who knows? I mean, they just have so few good players that the moment two of them get hurt, it feels like their free fall will happen. So the NFC is already kind of uninteresting, I guess is my bigger point. Unless the Giants can rally, and who knows after the 40 -0 debacle last week, they're playing Arizona this week, so they looked out of that. But for the most part, it seems like three good teams, maybe the Packers, maybe the Lions, maybe the Saints, and then we're going to have a really bad seven seed. So if you're Minnesota, and you're looking at 31 of 270 teams started 0 -2 and made the playoffs since 1990. 31 out of 270. I can't do math, but that's not good. If you're Minnesota, at what point do you consider trading Cousins? Cousins was all over the place on the internet this week as a possible Rogers replacement. He makes 35 million this year, that's it. The Jets, I think, could do some chicanery if they wanted to. They have this thing where the Packers, it's a conditional, I think second, that turns into a first, but the Packers would have to waive the right for the condition. Clearly, Rogers is going to play 70 % of the plays, but still, they'd have to figure out some way. But if you're the Jets, could you somehow trade for Cousins and save your season? We're going to find out a lot about the Jets this week against Dallas. They get annihilated and they're one -on -one for the season, but annihilates Dallas them and they have to look at their offense and go, all right, we have a really good team. What are we going to do? Is it Jacoby Brissett or do we swing big and try to get Cousins for a year? Cousins has over 700 yards and six TDs in the first two weeks. He's been a fantasy god. I don't know how that plays out. I wish it was like basketball where I could just put stuff in the trade machine and see if it's going to work. For some reason, we made football trades more complicated than basically anything on the earth. I have no idea how the Jets would trade for Cousins, how it'd work, what the mechanics of it would be. What's he worth? Is he worth a first rounder for one year? Is he worth a third rounder? You just never know. Again, DeAndre Swift went for a 15th rounder in 2038. Cousins, I have my eye on because if you're Minnesota, you're not good. You were completely lucky last year to go 13 and four, whatever it was. Now that's evened out and maybe you start looking around and going, all right, let's pack in this year. I don't know what would have to happen, what number they would have to get to. Would they have to be one and four, one and five, one and six? But Cousins to the Jets, it's a fun talk radio topic, at least. We're not doing talk radio here. We're doing sleepy sports podcasting, but Cousins to the Jets has always felt right. It's always felt kind of perfect. He always just felt like a Jet waited to happen at some point in his career. The Jets fans listening to this right now are like, how can he keep doing this to us? We just had the Rogers thing. We had Zach Wilson. Now you're gonna throw Cousins at us. But again, Cousins, a little bit of a turnaround. He was in that Netflix show. He's kind of the big winner of quarterbacks with Mariota being the big loser. But I feel like the tide's turning on Cousins. Even Primetime Kirk today, always a disaster, gets the cover. Who knows? Put him in New York. We'll see. Philly's got, they're just basically have to figure out what their team is. They've already had a bunch of injuries and they even had a little AJ Brown, Jalen Hurts. Who knows what happened on the sidelines there, but didn't look awesome. But they have two months here to figure out their team. They're a big stretch. Week nine, Sunday, Dallas, that's home in Philly. Bi -week, week 11 at Kansas City on a Monday night. Week 12, Buffalo home. Week 13, San Francisco home. And week 14 at Dallas. So again, Dallas at KC, Buffalo, San Francisco at Dallas. And that's gonna be the five game stretch that determines are we a one seed? Are we a two seed? What is our season gonna look like? And they just have to get there. They have to stay healthy and they have to get to that point. So not a lot of lessons from Philly, Minnesota. Do I regret staying up? Although I guess I didn't stay up because I got this little nap in at halftime.

"I don't know if I like that. I I like as a coach like an outlier in appearance like a Like someone who's either very old Not in great shape Like looks battle -hardened. There's something to that for me because Well Vic Fangio is Mike McDaniel's defensive coordinator Now Vic Fangio is still the head coach of the Broncos we'd have and Vic and I are from Scranton That would have been a very well Vic is from Dunmore I'm from Scranton. Let me because he'll correct you when you say that but That would have been an obvious one, but you get rid of Vic Fangio you get rid of me as a franchise So but Vikings are good But again, it's like I like So what I like about them So the wholesome part like Kirk Cousins has got that covered but on top of that, right like I do think like the way they treated their plate like one thing that was very noticeable to me was the way they handled all their outgoing players this year and If you go back and you look like Dalvin cook Patrick Peterson Eric Kendricks All these got Adam feel and all these got Dalvin cook all these guys they offloaded None of them have anything bad to say about the Vikings because of the way they handle those guys on the way out And then what you have remaining? Is maybe the most exciting young player in the game and Justin Jefferson, right? Proximity, New Jersey, that's an easy flight. It's a Delta hub So you have like you can get there really really easily and probably like an hour and a half two hours I feel like the young core there is good. They're very Forward thinking with quasi Adolfo Mensa is their GM who's kind of like a good merger between analytics and scouting. I Think there's a lot there I mean I just think that and I don't think that they're at the level of like the Bears or the Giants where it's like Alright, like that's a hit. That's a team that like has Like it's hard to just join that established fan base You know what? I mean? Like I feel like they're like maybe a notch below that and they're Minnesota nice. They would let me in My problem is I feel like as my kids get older. I need the head coach to be Older than me because like I think Kevin O 'Connell and I are pretty close to the same age We're in the same NFL locker room together when I was a young beat reporter and he was I covered him to Quarterback. Yeah, it's so I think like I would imagine like maybe one day my kids being like Oh the head coach of the Vikings is 40. Why aren't you doing anything? Cool dad? You're you're 40 so that's just something that's kind of the back of my radar, but I do I I Do support moving the Vikings up? to to a hot team Potentially and I do like I like that They're a little earlier in the cycle because it would be a little strange to I think the Jaguars are a very appealing pick It would be strange to become a Jaguars fan and then for the rest of your life people say Oh, how'd you become a Jaguars fan? And you say well, it was Trevor Lawrence's third season They had already proven they could win a playoff game and I said now's a good time for me to hop on the Jacksonville bandwagon Jacksonville just feels like I don't know. It's like too obvious too obvious That's how I feel about Detroit too, which is in this category. We haven't even talked about. Yeah. Yeah No, I'm with you Detroit's too obvious and part of this is gonna be You know, I want a fan base that handles success. Well, I think on this list a lot of teams that got punished Are teams whose fans when they achieve sudden success? Just collectively become like the largest group of douchebags on the planet and is that how you feel about Eagles fans? People would describe Patriots What I like about Eagles fans, I will say this you're getting dangerously close to early Bill Simmons era Boston and A Boston Red Sox Boston Celtics where you're making it a lot about you and I think you are over rating The struggle that's what I would say and it's there's a very theatrical Element to all that we had to go through in the empty stadiums at the link and oh The fellowship what we called it up here was right before they like the championships started here They called it the fellowship of the miserable up here But it's theater, right? It's acting some of it is Yeah, I mean like the whole like going to your you know Great -grandfather's grave site the day after the Red Sox won the World Series. There was definitely some of that Okay, I can see that to one up that I will say the morning of the Super Bowl this past year I saw videos from Philly where people were at their grandparents grave sites tailgating And they had run like they were tailgating with their dead relatives I remember walking into the stadium in Arizona being sent these videos Wait a minute Can you imagine like driving by a cemetery and seeing like an RV parked in the middle of it and just like a half dozen people hanging out But that's also part of why I'm weary about Philly like there's always there's already this established fan Subculture and then to be able to fit in I would have to be so extra beyond what I am now And so I think that there's a little bit of pressure there to be there's a high barrier to entry to be a fanatical Eagles fan I think yeah, I also think Philly is a very strong 4 -4 kind of city and I know there are others on the list I'm not saying that's exclusive to Philly But I think it it is Particular there where it's like the diehard Eagles fans are tend to be also diehard Sixers Phillies fans It's not an easy city to sort of pick and choose one team a la carte and have other interests It feels like everyone's very much dialed into all of the teams I know there are other four for four cities people probably listening to the saying or cities like that, too But it feels it feels like some very passionate fans as I know and I think it would be a tough place to just sort Of hop in as just an Eagles fan it would it would anybody else have a candidate to bump up from maybe teams So we're moving the Vikings up right moving the Vikings up Okay, I'm gonna have to you know, the Kevin O 'Connell thing is a me issue.

Mike Mcdaniel Justin Jefferson VIC Kevin O 'Connell Trevor Lawrence Vic Fangio Eagles Jaguars Super Bowl 40 Giants Bears Patrick Peterson World Series Dalvin Arizona Eric Kendricks Scranton Bill Simmons Red Sox

"To change my mind as I get older, but I just know that myself, I've got kind of an addictive personality. My immediate thought was, well, why not put a $100 down then? Right? Because then you make 4000. I mean, so I would just be, I just know that I don't trust myself to gamble. I would probably lose too much money and be stupid and aggressive and think I'm right and so I just don't even go there at all. I don't allow myself in that world. I don't take sponsorships from that world. I just stay away from gambling completely. And I don't know, but I got a text from my buddy yesterday was like, hey, I was talking to someone at FanDuel the other day about you and they said you know, they were frustrated by a little bit, because you don't take any gambling sponsorships. And I was like, yep, and I just don't feel comfortable with that. I've turned down a lot of money in my career, and my dad is like, dude, take the money, be a mercenary, and I just, I don't, I don't want to do that. I don't want to, I don't want to promote something that I think would be bad for me. So if I don't use it myself, I'm not promoting that on my show. So I stay away from gambling and it's pretty weird because they're the biggest sponsor in the sports world, right? Like everybody has a gambling sponsorship on their show. And I can sleep at night. I try to stay away from it. I think it's bad for me. If it's bad for me, I'm not promoting it to anyone else ever. So I hope people respect that. And I don't think I'm weird. I mean, I am weird, but whatever. Okay, let's end the show with this today. Sorry, if you had to put a warning in, so I'm going to go back and make a cut here. I'm going to talk about Formula One now for the rest of the show. If you don't like Formula One and you've had a good time, hey, I appreciate it. Have a great day. If you're here for Formula One, we're going to talk for about 5 minutes about the French Grand Prix and then in the show. So if you're gone, I love you. Thank you. If you liked Formula One, stick around, we'll have a good time. Now let's dive in. We just had the French Grand Prix, Max Verstappen, one,

"Really good quote endorsing Mitchell trubisky as a steeler said sealer's starting quarterback. Here is what I'm going to read to the full quote on the Berg news. Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mitchell to basically received a big endorsement from his teammate and defensive lineman Cameron Hayward in his bid to be the teams to be the team's starting quarterback in 2022. Here's what cam Edwards said. It starts with Mitch. Mitch, we brought him in in free agency. The thing is we have to remember about Mitch is he's coming from a situation in Chicago where they didn't really give him anything. And he still made it to the playoffs. Everything people like to say, you know, Mitch did this wrong. Mitch did that wrong man. Mitch did a lot of things right. Hopefully we have a better team around him and we're going to support him. Right now he's our number one quarterback. So cam Hayward supported Mitchell trubisky as the Steelers starting quarterback. And I, you know, I think in an NFL locker room, guys really, really respect a veteran quarterback. Somebody's been there before. And someone who has experience that they feel like they can trust. So I think there's no hurry for can you pick it to be the starting quarterback in Pittsburgh. I would make him earn it if I was the Steelers. I think if it's close, I probably would go with Kenny Pickett, but there's a complication there, which is that if it's close but trubisky is actually better, you might have to go with a better quarterback trubisky because if you don't, you're going to lose the other players in the locker room who are trying to win and fighting for their lives and trying to, you know, it's the worst thing you can do is play a quarterback that the locker room isn't behind. And if the locker room is behind Mitchell trubisky and he released a better guy, then that's who you got to play early on in the season until Kenny Pickett is eventually ready. All right, we got two topics left today. It's been a long show, kind of a, I don't know. How have you liked it? I've been having a good time. For some reason, this one, like I said, this episode more than any other.

"And I think I'm going to go to the All-Star Game next year if that's possible. You know, the Mariners, the Seattle Mariners are making me care about baseball and care about them. You know, I am preparing to have heartbreak, the Mariners have been doing pretty well this year, the Seattle Mariners. I rant about them all the time. But I love their center Fielder Julio Rodriguez. He's a stud. He almost won the home run Derby. He actually hit the most home runs during the actual home run Derby. He hit 81 home runs. Juan Soto hit 53, but one side or technically won the home run Derby, which is like, whatever, that's weird and dumb. To hit 81 home runs, more than anyone else and lose the home run Derby. Kind of kind of weird how it's structured, but whatever. And I've made peace with the fact that Julie Rodriguez at some point is going to leave probably the Mariners for a bigger contract the same way Alex Rodriguez did. I mean, it's only a matter of time before you see Julie Rodriguez playing for the Red Sox or the Yankees or someone else who's got a ton of money. It's not going to be the Mariners forever, but I'm trying to let myself enjoy watching him because he's so much fun. He's so cool to watch and what an awesome player who's had a really good effect on the Mariners, I believe, and I love seeing the guy play at the All-Star Game and there was that moment where he, you know, the pitcher, he gets the last out Hulu Rodriguez does. He almost throws in the stands and the pitcher is like, no, I need that ball Julio. Don't throw the ball hole like I can't get enough of Hulu Rodriguez. I like everyone want to see what the guy. He's awesome. And like I said, I have made peace with the fact that I'm sure at some point he's going to leave and go, but you know what? I love watching him play for the Mariners. Screenshot number 19, former USFL generals quarterback Luis Perez. He's signing with LA rams. I love love love Luis Perez. I've talked about him for years. He was with the USFL played for the generals. I met this guy briefly in New York when he played for the XFL New York guardians. This is actually his second stint with the LA rams. And here's why I love Louise press. He's got a really cool story. A story of resilience and

"Is Kirk top ten top 15? I don't care. I really don't care about the distinction. You're kind of splitting hairs there. I got one problem with Kirk Cousins. We'll talk about in a second. However, I'm so excited to watch Kirk Cousins in a new offense this year. Kevin O'Connell is head coach. He's a former quarterback who worked with Sean mcvay. And I look at this newest situation with Kevin O'Connell and the next couple of years ahead for Kirk. This is the best opportunity Kirk Cousins is ever going to get in his career. Where I think he could produce similar to Matt Ryan's MVP season with Kyle Shanahan calling the place. He's got Dalvin cook at running back. Receiver Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen out wide. They're both awesome. And Mike Zimmer was not a quarterback friendly coach. He's a defensive guy that saw offense as a, you know, Mike, the offense as an obstacle rather than a weapon. He's a defensive guy who just, we want to run the ball and protect the football and he wasn't aggressive and entrusted the quarterback. He didn't want them to throw the ball very much. Was it about Kirk? Maybe. I think Mike Zimmer wouldn't have really liked any quarterback he's had because he doesn't trust quarterbacks at all. So like I said, that's my opinion and impression is that Kirk is poised to potentially have the best year of his career this year. And I'm really happy because it's been a long time since Kirk was really put in a position to be massively successful. The coach you believed in him and built an offense to fit him and let him let him kind of shine. Although I will say this, man, here's my problem with Kirk Cousins. Other than the fact that Kirk Cousins is a really clunky name and hard to say. The problem is that I think he gets really tense and nervous in big moments. I look back to the moment where he kneeled at once and set a spiked it. And you think about, you know, I think it was the bears game last year with a really bad pick 6. I mean, there are moments where was it last year was a two years ago, I don't know, there are moments where optically Kirk Cousins struggles in big moments and I think it's because he gets really excited and pent up and nervous and doesn't know how to manage those nerves very well. I think he probably needs to talk to a sports psychologist who would help him a lot.

"The Arizona Cardinals through the 2028 season, he'll be 31 years old by then. Also, Kyler Murray is now the second highest paid quarterback by average yearly earnings. He's making on average $46.1 million a year. Now look, I do not mind Arizona giving Kyler Murray a big contract. In fact, I'm happy for the guy, like ran himself. I'm like, wow, he just got paid generational wealth. That's cool. That's exciting. I think you could argue he's already made life-changing money, but now it's like a whole nother level. Holy crap, his children's children are not going to have to work. It's incredible. And I ask you, for anyone, I myself am very skeptical of this contract. I go right really? Kyler Murray, that much money like I'm even in that boat, but I want to counter even my own thinking and say, well, let's pause and ask. You know, what are the Arizona Cardinals without Kyler Murray? And how easy is he to replace? I mean, look, there are some exciting quarterbacks in college football right now. But there's just not a lot of Kyler Murray's running around the league and I will say I don't think he's earned this contract yet. I think based on what he's done in his three years as an NFL quarterback. I don't see a guy who's worth $230.5 million. That seems absurd. However, as the years go on, he might eventually earn that money. He's super talented. I think he's one of the more talented quarterbacks in the NFL with his ability to run around. He's got a massive arm, but I just, I have a hard time going, yeah, this guy, Kyler. He should be the second highest paid quarterback by yearly average in the NFL. I just don't, I have a hard time feeling that way. What's going to be really interesting is in 5 to 7 years when we look back on this contract, are we going to go um, you know, they overpaid Kyler Murray, or are we going to say, okay, that makes sense. Is it kind of like when Baltimore paid Joe Flacco at massive contract? I mean, that one didn't work out at all. So we'll see. I'm really excited as time goes on to see how kyla Murray plays to see what Arizona does. And they kind of determine whether or not he ends up earning the money he's getting paid. You know, I will say, Kyler Murray's playoff loss to the rams in January. I think it was in January. It was really embarrassing. He appeared to lack leadership and he kind of wilted in a really big moment when you need your quarterback to show up. It would be really, really hard for me to give a guy I watched do that, not have leadership and really not show up in the biggest moment of the year. To give that guy $230.5 million. That feels a bit absurd, feels a bit hard for me. I'm trying to remember that it's a different NFL now and there's more money than ever before. Every quarterback from here on out that gets paid is going to be making more money than you can even imagine. It's just a different era of the NFL, but I'm still having a hard time accepting that.

"Confident and cool and relaxed and I'd feel better about Derek Carr running my football team than Kirk Cousins. And by the way, I'm curious, I hate saying that I'm Kirk Cousins, no shade, no offense to him. But he just does not come out of the mouth very easily. Am I wrong about that? Kirk Cousins. That you could use for comedic effect too. Come on, Kirk Cousins. This is real funny to say Kirk Cousins in a way. You know, it's like he's Kirk Cousins. Like that's what you did. He gonna go Kirk, captain Kirk. Like his nickname is hilarious. It's just one you ever have one of those guys, like you meet at work and like an office scenario, they have a name and it just feels real good to say like, shut up, plus their names like shut up, Kirk. That just feels good. You know what I mean? Don't make sense, but it just feels good to just be like, oh yeah, you're gonna Kirk Cousins. It's just a funny name. And you know, Derek Carr, you don't hear as many of the jokes with him, but it's the same thing with Matthew Stafford, right? Like Matthew Stafford was the king of like, oh, he's look Matthew Stafford going to have three games where you don't believe he's Matthew Stafford no more, but he will remind you at some point. That's Matthew Stafford, right? Not like he's terrible. But, you know, that's gonna have those stretches where you guys like three great games and you're like, he's top 5. And he has like a two picked 6 game. You're like, oh yeah, I forgot Matt does this too. You know? Yeah, that Titans game was brutal. If you watch the Titans rams game this year? Oh yeah, he had a couple of them. He had like that. Yeah. He threw a pick 6 and then another interception like on back to back passes and you're like, jeez, Christ, like what is happening with this guy? Let's be a bad staffer this whole career, though, you know, it's like, and people forget, and I think it's gonna get rewritten because he won the Super Bowl. Good on him, right? You know, he's gonna probably get into a Hall of Fame because of that..

"Rank this. Because I the matchup I want to stay the same, I want Georgia against Michigan. However, the only way to do that really is to make one of them for and one of them 5 and you don't want to penalize Georgia who's one of the best teams in the country. I'll put them down. Can you rank them like 5th in the country? That feels so wrong after having only one last year. So that's a flaw with everything about to say next, which is that the matchups I want to see. I want and maybe it's a simple answer. I guess maybe what you could do is have Georgia play Ohio State, then put Georgia in the top four of Georgia high school. But what I want to see honestly and this would be really fun for me personally. I want Alabama against Ohio State. I want Bryce young against CJ Stroud. Two Heisman Trophy finalists two great young quarterbacks would be awesome. George and Michigan dream matchup. Great offensive line at Michigan and it's a great defense, Georgia. That's perfect. Cincinnati Baylor would be really fun. Baylor's got this great defense. That's a game that Cincinnati actually has a shot to win and to be cool to give Cincinnati one a playoff game. Oh my gosh, it'd be really fun. And then Notre-Dame, it almost would be really interesting because that's the two teams I had left and I'm like, well, I sure. Let's see that. I think that would be interesting. I don't want any repeat matchups. I don't at least not in a round one. They have to earn their way to play each other again and get a rematch. And that's a ton of good games. Alabama state, George, and Michigan. Cincinnati Baylor would be really fun. Notre-Dame old severely interesting. Again, I'm not sure how you would rank them like you couldn't put Georgia and Michigan as the number four and 5 teams in the country. That's the big flaw here. But I want good games and the four games I came up with sound like really, really good games with a top 8 teams in the college football rankings. Leon writes in, says, hey Zach, finally got around to supporting you here. Thank you, by the way, Lee and I really appreciate that. Anyway, what are your thoughts on the NFC south? Do you believe that the saints can put together a good enough team to beat out the bucks or is Brady's team there to dominate? Thanks for keeping me company on the drives to work in school. Always look forward to your releases. Lean, I'm not going to lie to you, man. Tampa is going to dominate for.

"Then what's going to happen is that max will win because he has more race wins, even though they're tied with points. And imagine if someone at the back of the pack, let's say, Antonio giovanna is like, I'm so sick and tired of loose dominating Formula One he just goes on a as soon as I had mission to cause a crash for Lewis Hamilton. Something like that, that would be really interesting and I don't know funny's right word, but it's definitely interesting. I don't know if that'll happen, but Bottas is third right now in Formula One with 218 points. He is actually, I think secured third because in fourth place he got Sergio Pérez with a 190 points, that's 28 points behind. You can't score 28 points in a single race, even if I think it must mean that Sergio Pérez is secured for a race Valtteri Botox is secured in third in Formula One. In the constructor standings you have Mercedes with 587.5 points Red Bull has 559.5 points. The DNF for Sergio Pérez in Saudi Arabia basically handed Mercedes first place, it would take a miracle now for Red Bull to catch up and beat Mercedes. And third place, a similar situation you have Ferrari with 307 points. McLaren, who is battled with them all year is so far behind now they have 269 points. It would be a miracle. It would be like, hey, both McLaren drivers get first and second Ferrari doesn't finish for McLaren to somehow pass Ferrari. And even then, I don't even know, is that mathematically possible? Probably. Yeah, because you have 25 plus. I still don't think I could even happen. So I think Ferrari has secured third Alpine has a 149 points in fourth and 5th place excuse me. Dave pulled away from alpha tower. Remember a couple races ago, alpha tower and Alpine were tied. And with estrogen outcome doing so well recently and Fernando Alonso getting a podium estimate, icon got fourth in Saudi Arabia, and alpha is now 29 points behind Alpine. So good for Alpine. They have secured 5th place in Formula One. I'm really pumped for Abu Dhabi..

"And Lewis just took as long as he could possibly want to meandering slowly waiting till he pulled up and forcing max sit there on the starting grid and max has done a legal stuff like the way he passed through his Hamilton a couple of times. He even throughout the year, he's just cutting Lewis off completely on turns. The reality is that both Macs and Lewis are completely miserable to compete against. They will go to the stewards, they will make contact with each other and they're actually very, very similar, which is why I think this is so intense. If they were racing other people who maybe weren't as bull headed, but I think some of the most intense and competitive and bull headed drivers were they will do anything to win. They don't care. You got Lewis Hamilton. I think Fernando Alonso is that kind of guy and Max Verstappen. And now we got two of those guys against each other. It's gonna be the way this ends this year, it's going to be really intense and it's because they're very similar. No one's talking about that. They do. If you're a Lewis fan or a max fan, you go, all the other one is terrible and wrong and complains or does this or just add it? No, the reality is they all do whatever it takes. And they're similar, which is why it's been so intense as a year has gone on. Now, the margins are razor thin. It's been nail biting to watch because neither driver can afford a mistake or afford of anything go wrong a gearbox issue here or maybe a puncture there or you run widen to the wall. I mean, it's crazy how razor then the margins are at the end of this year. And there is a moment where max passed Lewis and it was illegal, so he had to actually give the place back to Lewis. And then max slows down to let him pass and Lewis rear ends him. And you're like, oh, no. And there are two sides. All right, Louis will tell you that max is being dirty and it's bad racing. Max will tell you so Lewis will say it's dirty driving max will say, I was just slowing down to let him have the position. Of course, you'll say it is innocent as humanly possible to get anybody on his side. Now, max actually got blamed for the collision, the FIA gave him a ten second time penalty after Saudi Arabia now. It didn't actually impact any of the race. It's a trivial move. So Lewis still won max still got second. But I thought that what really was happening there was they were trying to appease Mercedes and shut Lewis Hamilton up who was complaining a lot, talking about dirty driving consistent set. And I thought really what happened to us and it's kind of comical to blame max, although again it didn't matter, so it impacted anything, so who cares? But I thought it would happen from watching was that the FIA had poor communication between Michael Massey the race director and the two teams, they told max to slow down and give the place back and he did. They just hadn't yet told Louis what max was going to do..

"And simultaneously give Seattle a cheaper quarterback which they need to build their roster up and also give them some draft picks they could use to rebuild their football team. So I think actually Kirk to Seattle is a really, really underrated option that nobody I've not heard that anywhere and like, that would be a really fun and very, very interesting. How about Cleveland? Kirk is a better quarterback than Baker Mayfield in my opinion. And it gets pretty clear. Watch what he's done this year. Watch how bakers play baker's been hurt but baked has been all over the place. And the browns need a quarterback for next year. It seems like that's their biggest problem right now. I say the quarterback's holding them back a little bit. And brown's head coach, Kevin Stefanski used to be the offensive coordinator for a guess who Kirk Cousins in Minnesota. I don't know what that trade would look like. Maybe Kirk for Baker Mayfield and some draft picks, something like that. But I think Kirk Cousins would fit in well in Cleveland and their offense, but they're doing it's an offensive coordinator. Well, a play color now head coach Kevin Spacey that he's worked with before. It is not a, I think that's a destination that would work very, very well for Kirk. Now, it is not a great quarterback draft up ahead in 2022. And so they're likely will not be any franchise quarterbacks available in the middle of the first round. So if Cleveland wants a quarterback, this is what they gotta do. Also, if another team like Denver wants a quarterback, you're not going to find one in the draft. I don't think. I think they're going to be a little too good to find a quarterback in the mid round of the draft in the first round where they will be. So could Denver trade for Kirk Cousins. Um, interesting. This team is ready to win. All they need in Denver, in my opinion, is probably a new head coach. And then they need a good quarterback. Kirk is playing very well. He's got 25 touchdowns, only three interceptions this year. He just needs a good team. Give him a good defense, some great weapons. He's got a couple of good receivers, but that's about it in Minnesota. Everyone is saying Denver should trade for Aaron Rodgers. And I hear you. That'd be a beautiful trade to be sexy and fun. But is Erin even going to be available as question number one B like how much are you going to have to give up to trade for Aaron Rodgers? That feels like a massive blockbuster trade. Now it's worth it, but that's a lot to give up. What about Kirk Cousins? A franchise quarterback on the cheap as far as the trade comes in. Plus the GM George Payton in Denver used to be in Minnesota. So they have ties Kirk to Denver. Could be really good. Now the final one I want to talk about, a lot of people in my comments are suggesting, hey, Kirk could go to New Orleans to be a home run..

"Three, two, one. Oh, my goodness. Good morning, good afternoon. Whatever it is for you, I hope you're having a fan, tastic day. My name is Zach Schumer. This is strong opinions boards episode 425 welcome in. Let me start by just acknowledging right off the bat. This episode is later than I wanted it to be. It's Wednesday morning, this was supposed to come out Tuesday morning. And I have been going through some really tough stuff. And I do not feel ready to talk about that publicly. But there's some stuff going down to my personal life and I'm just going through it, man. I've got a lot on my plate and it's been really time consuming. It's been really emotional. And I think I've reached a resolution for now. I don't think it should affect teacher shows. In fact, I will not allow it to. But I apologize, I'm a tad bit late on this one, and I feel bad. I don't want to talk about Formula One three days after the race. I don't want to talk about Monday Night Football on Wednesday, but here we are. I'm doing the very best I can. I promise. And look, I don't know, I've got friends looking for jobs right now. And I look around at the world and I want it clear, I appreciate my job so much. I love what I do. I am very grateful to do what I do. I don't want to do another job. I really don't. And so I want to be clear, I'm really committed to this and I think I just want it to be known. I want to make episodes Sunday Night and Monday night and then hopefully Tuesday night at bang bang bang and that's my goal and what I'm aiming for and I apologize. It's been a really, really hard football season for me. I'm going through a lot of stuff behind the scenes and I'm trying not to let it affect the show, but it is a little bit and I apologize for that. I want to this is a fun thing to start with because I love hypotheticals. I love talking about stuff that could potentially happen. So let me be clear with this though. I do not believe Kirk Cousins will be traded. And if I was a Minnesota Vikings, I would not trade Kirk Cousins. So let's be clear, I do not think this is going to happen. But I love hypotheticals..

"Browns for the next two weeks is Mike Zimmer on the hot seat with an O and four start. Absolutely. Vikings ownership is going to start asking questions saying is that the coach is at the quarterback Kirk Cousins? Is it both the coach Mike Zimmer and Kirk Cousins? Someone's going to have to pay. And if Minnesota, they paid Kirk Cousins a ton of money. And was it Kirk's fault or not who knows, but the reality is that when ownership gave Kirk a massive contract fully guaranteed. 86 million whatever it was. The belief was Kirk is the final puzzle piece we need to go in a Super Bowl. It hasn't happened like at all. And is that Kirk Cousins fault entirely? No, it's totally not. There have been parts around them that have failed and not been good enough. And so again, I just wonder, who is, who is the Vikings ownership going to blame? I know that I think it's both. I think it's actually more on Kirk than it is on the coach. I think, unfortunately, what's sad as Mike Zimmer is an incredible defensive coordinator who man, I can't explain giving up that many points in a row. I just know that you would think with that defense and him calling defensive plays that your quarterback has to score enough points to make up for that and I just haven't done that. So it's a team effort, but I wonder who is the Vikings ownership kind of blame? Kirk Cousins or Mike Zimmer or maybe both of them. I don't know, but that's what I like that's how an O and two start for the Vikings. Their whole season is shifted into this thing. Who is going to pay? They're going to have a bad year. It seems like and who's the person that's going to take the fall? Is it both? Is it neither I don't know, but keep your eye in the Vikings and their ownership, what they do moving forward with decisions towards the end of the year. Final question that I Lee writes in he says, if you had ten minutes to have a conversation with your 16 year old self, what would you say?.

So Minnesota minus three at Cincinnati has Beato second pick you wanna You got a minute left here? I didn't put my last pick. I'm going with Steve Sarkeesian and the Texas Longhorns heart. The question is, do I do I give 6.5 or seven Well, what is the number? Don't cheat me here. I'm just what you know, I'll find I'll find it, but it's seven. But that's for sure. It's been seven all week. It's gonna be It's went down to 6.5 and I don't care. I don't care the heck with you. Hog ease. The heck with you Hogs. Texas will win tomorrow by double digits, Jaedicke It is seven right now. So Ed Clements has Texas minus seven. Minus 73 college games special from it. My dance card is full like that. I you know, I obviously would not pick Arkansas even in well with the seven points there and I, uh I think that you're right that the Texas has a real has great potential to blow this team out. But I'm a little worried. Just little work. It's the first road game card on the road. You've got reason to worry. You've got reason where it's your first road game going to happen. When his Casey Thompson going to enter the game. He says he's going to get him in. Okay. I have one pick remaining veto has one pick remaining, We'll take a quick break. We'll come back and do that. "Does well against i don't know that's just me. I don't want to get off on a on a tangent and once we get to the week four match ups. I'll talk about that once. We get to that point but yeah. That's my thoughts on the vikings defense. I think they're going to be an improved unit. They got a bunch of guys coming back from kovin injuries. They are going to be a better defense. Because of that. And i think that they can be a top twelve top fifteen defense so then. Finally you got the kicker for the vikings you got greg. joseph didn't have any stats from last year. And he's going to be their starting kicker so obviously if he's starting kicker he's going to get over zero points so those are the players for the minnesota vikings and you know. This is a team that i do expect to make the playoffs. I really do. And you know when i talk about it on my other. Show my radio show which you definitely would should listen to post it on my youtube channel that i have. It's basically just my name. If you go to youtube be typing. Kenneth grew and felder. You'll see my youtube account. And i'll have all my radio shows from school up there so you know that when we talk about. Who's gonna make the playoffs looking at the schedule and stuff. I you know. It's kind of tough because you know the nfc is loaded. And i've said the cardinals. I think can make the playoffs. The forty niners the seahawks. The rams the vikings but there's only three wildcard spot. So i really got to think about who i one actually put in the playoffs and i definitely think the vikings probably make it over the cardinals just because they got a better defense. They have a better offense. In my opinion. I think tyler is better than kirk. Cousins but i just think that overall the vikings are a better team than the cardinals and the vikings have a lot of players that you wanna get. You wanna get justin. Jefferson wanna get adam appeal and you wanna get and cook. Those are the three main guys. Kirk cousins is a solid fantasy quarterback. He does put up solid fantasy numbers. And you know. I'm not the biggest kirk cousins supporter because well mainly because he you know. I don't like him for what happened. Twenty fifteen for me and my fancy championship. So i talked about this a long time ago. I one of the first shows that i did. But i had kirk cousins on my team and not think he was playing because washington already clinched the division so i sacked cousins. I started brock osweiler and what ended up happening was brock. Osweiler got bench for peyton manning. Because i was the final game of the regular season and then kirk cousins ended up playing had like three touchdowns over three hundred yards and he had like thirty four thirty some points and if i would have played him i probably would've won and i would have repeated in the league so yeah that was very frustrating and also another thing is kirk cousins in big games does not have a good track record and i would always say he does good when it's not you know crunch time it's not a big situation when it is a big situation. That's when he falters. And we've definitely seen that but you know what the guy went out and you wanna play off game so i can't really complain about dad. He finally won a monday night football. So got those things off of his back. Which is good. But i still don't trust him in big situations however i do when it comes to fantasy. He'll put up solid numbers for you. The vikings have a good enough team as long as alvin. Cook is healthy. Because he's also another guy. Like when i was talking about deck and baker feel like without dalvin cook. Kirk cousins is a different player. And i saw that a couple of times back in twenty nineteen when the packers won the division. The vikings were playing them. It was like week sixteen. I believe and they didn't have alvin cook that you had. Actually they had mike. Boone was playing running back. So i think madison got her to and the vikings offense just did not look good at all. So that's something to keep an eye on and fantasy of dalvand cook gets hurt. You definitely gotta think about it a little bit on whether or not you wanna start kirk cousins. Because he is definitely a different quarterback when his running game is not productive. But i just think you know kirk. Cousins is a guy solid fantasy quarterback the receivers the onen jefferson dalvin. Cook those are like the shore. You know guys that you want to draft the defense. I think you could also throw them in that category as well because all the stuff that i talked about. They're getting guys back from injuries. Michael pierce a guy that they got from the ravens. He opted out because the covert last year. Now he's coming back and you bring in sheldon richardson as well. The defense overall is going to be better defense. That i do have one of my teams and i expect them to do well. They're gonna give teams problems and now the crowds are back. That defense is gonna feed off the crowd. And it's i think minnesota's one of the toughest places to play in. And you know they definitely missed having fans last year. I mean watching that week. One game packers vikings. That was such a weird game to watch when no crowd and the packers you know. They won that game. I feel like with the crowd. It might have been a little bit different. But we're gonna see what happens in when the vikings have home games because there's gonna be capacity across the board when when talking about the nfl having their attendance being back to how it should be fans in the stands and field advantage plays a role it really does. Homefield advantage is huge in the playoffs. When it comes to the nfl and you know. The vikings definitely missed having their fans but overall the vikings you know we talked about all their players whether or not they will be around the same or be below their fantasy totals. I'm mostly said they'd be below but that doesn't necessarily mean that's a bad thing. I think it's just because everybody really had good seasons. I think their those players are going to probably see a little bit of a dip from their fantasy totals from a year ago and again. It's not a bad thing. it's just. That's just how i see it. And i think all those guys the main guys you know the two receivers coke in kirk cousins. Those are the main guys. you're gonna wanna draft. I don't necessarily think that going after herndon or conkland tight ends is a bad thing. I think that those guys can may be provide death for your teams depending on. How big your league is. How big your benches because i think they will see some target specifically in the red zone. I think that's where they're going to be most valuables in the red zone because obviously you got. Jackson jefferson cooking theline. Who are going to be moving the chains and doing all that guys like herndon and konkan. I think will be used more in the red zone. But that's just me. I think really what's going to drive. This team is of course. Jefferson thelander dalvand cook. That's really what is going to drive this offense and with that that concludes another installment of the over under segment with the players from the minnesota. Vikings i'll do the bears next and with that we will take our second break of the show when we come back. We'll talk about the one o'clock games of week. One and i'll go through each one and talk about the favorable unfavorable matchups from each matchup and talk about who should start. Who should said all that. Good stuff so stick around. "He has That's amazing. So with the Minnesota Vikings drafting Kellen MoD, there's been some thought that apparently they are frustrated by Kirk Cousins. They feel like it's time to get ready to move on. And that the clock is ticking on cousins. And I would say this about that. I think the Minnesota Vikings know exactly what they have in Kirk cousins, and they know that there's a next level to get to, but they haven't had the opportunity. Where they haven't seen a window to do that. Reportedly the Vikings were also hoping that Justin Fields fell to them at number 14. Of course, that didn't happen because Chicago Bears traded up. With the Giants and jumped into that spot to grab her, but that Rick Spielman Would have been sitting on Justin Fields a number 14. He ended up taking Kallen Mon of the third early third rounder. If you were the Vikings, you are well aware of what Kirk cousins is, and I say this all the time. There's got to be some Kirk cousins in the world. I'm not sure you want Kirk cousins as your quarterback. But you can't only have And NFL quarterback. Stature or list that has Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers. And then Christian Hackenberg, even though Hackenberg never was a starter, But my point is, you have to have a middle class. There have to be starting quarterbacks that are not Hall of Famers, but that aren't bums. That took her cousins is he's out of bum. Are you going to win a Super Bowl with him? No. But he's also a guy that is thrown for 4000 yards, five different times in his career. Last year through 35 touchdowns against 13 interceptions. If you are, plus 22 in touchdowns, I aunties two pretty good season. Cousins isn't going to elevate your roster. Being greater than it is. He's not a guy that is going to be looking at me. Follow me. I'll lead you there. He's not. His dynamic is Russell Wilson, not as skilled as Aaron Rodgers isn't the winner of Tom Brady. Business Sensational is as Patrick the homes But Right now. Texans would kill for Kirk Cousins. For many, many years, the dolphin to the bills would have loved to have a Kirk cousins. You gotta have guys like this. They are the derrick cars. Who were the match jobs. Who were the gym efforts Good, Not great. Legitimate starting quarterback gives you a chance to win and go 10 and six That's it. That everybody's gonna be Hall of Famer or Total disaster. There's going to be something in between. That's what Kirk cousins is. So if you can upgrade over cousins, if you have that window, you do it. If there is a chance to draft Brilliant QB, and maybe they felt they just in fields was that you do it. But if there is not You can't just not re sign Kirk cousins. You can't just trade away Kirk cousins without a better solution, or else you turn into the Jaguars. Would you rather have Kirk cousins or gardener? Minshew? Would you rather have had Kirk Cousins or Blake Bortles? Would you rather have had Kirk cousins or Blaine Gabbert? There's bad quarterbacks out there lots of them. If Kelly Mahon turns into a better QB, then Kirk cousins great. He was a third round pick. That's that's a big win. Cousins was 1/4 round pick. But if he's not You still have Kirk cousins who's good enough again to when you're 10 games in a playoff game, much more than that. No. No, that was last year's Vikings problems. The quarterback not really It was more on the defense, but also cousins. Is it going to Surprise. You would shock you by going into some type of great run and going 12 and four and crushing all types of great teams. I kind of understand where the Vikings are. You're caught in a bit of a no man's land. Good enough to be 10 and six not good enough to be 13 and three Not bad enough to be three and 13. We just heard Brad Heller discuss this ugly situation in hockey with noted Goo and Tom Wilson. It's almost the playoffs. It's the spring. It's a big hockey story. It means it's time for Canadian bacon..

I think we're both in agreement that the starting price of two first-round picks is absolutely insane, but just in terms of him as a player. Where are you on Derek Carr? Yeah. I I think that all just start first with the overarching, you know, I think you're going to see a lot of teams put borderline quarterbacks on the market right now. I think you'll see what Jimmy Garoppolo I think you might see with Kirk Cousins those sorts of situations. It's just because teams saw the return for Matthew Stafford and they're thinking when I want some of that right? It's like what's going on in stock market gets hot. So everybody wants in on it. I don't know how like not every quarterback that gets put on the trade block in the next month is going to be traded and I think cars the first of a handful so I'm not going to like over-hyped that as four cars a player. I mean a nice piece, you know, I I'm not overly excited. You're right. The two first-round picks is too much where I look at this in relation to the Patriots we talked about this on Tuesday is 4 a.m. To get a guy like Jimmy Garoppolo there has to be a trickle-down effect, right? So maybe San Francisco likes car and then they get car and then should be dropping becomes available something like that, but I'm not you know going to do jumping jacks and say the offseason is saved because the Raiders are thinking about trading car, right and I think the biggest thing with these asking price is is that it's nice to ask for two first-round picks your job. Actually get two first-round picks for Derek Carr and even old PlayStation. I can ask you for $500 for it doesn't mean it's going to happen. Right and the other days you want to I mean the offer stands but no no, I'm good. But then the other thing is is that you have a trickle-down effect that you mentioned of the Raiders are not out there actively seeking a trade for Derrick Car unless they can upgrade at the quarterback position themselves. So maybe they feel and I think the report that was out there was that they were going to try to take whatever they get from Derek Carr and package their own pics together to make a move for Deshaun Watson, but if they don't feel like that other shoe was going to drop that you don't just trade Derrick Cartwright. Nothing left, you know with leave yourself empty-handed and now they do but actually it's interesting. You said that cuz you're a big Marcus Mariota guy. I never thought he obviously had his moments. You don't think they trade Derrick car for you know, if you can get to First for Derek Carr if you think Mariota is only a marginal decrease in those two first-round picks will help you out. More than that gap between card Mariota like you don't think they might look to just do that. I wouldn't but you being as high as Mariota on as high on Marietta as you are I'm a little interested that you're not going to flirt with that possibility as well. I would if you have a team comes in and offers the Raiders a Godfather offer for Derek Carr and they do offer multiple first or multiple Hai pics then maybe you could talk yourself in terms of replacing car and like you said, it's not that big of a drop off from one to the other and and you can have that conversation. But I think with Mariota in card me to me, it looks a lot like what Mario dealt with with Ryan Tannehill in Tennessee a few years ago where Mariota because of his pedigree because of his history with the club was the starter to start the season. It didn't go. Well they make the switch to Red Hill and the following offseason is when they decide to move on from Marcus Mariota, so I actually feel like the Raiders and and the Patriots, you know as a domino effect, or maybe one year too early on this dead. Our conversation may be we're having this conversation next to offseason when Marcus Mariota unseats Derek Carr has the starter and if if not, when if okay fair enough. Marcus Mariota unseat Sarah car,

"Dot org's BK. Good Evening, man. How are you? I'm good guys. I kind of caught the tail in there. And I'm not one to go out of my way to disagree with Ben very often because he's usually right and then I like agreeing with him, But I think that Jets roster you named all they're good players. There's like four of them. Right. I think if you were to ask people around the league, they tell you that they have the worst roster of very close to the bottom because you like back then, for sure you got a light. Quentin Williams, CJ Mosley coming back from the opt out, but he's obviously a vet. And I like Denzel Memes. I think we all like Denzel men, especially what we saw up close and personal last year, But after that, who do you like Marcus Maze of free agent? Donald. Maybe, but I don't know. I don't like the Jets roster very much. I don't know if that's how you ended up on the Jets. Like Like I said, I caught a little bit of it. Just say they have some pieces. There are obviously they needed talent if used across the board, But some of that, you know, some of it was also the fact they said a bad coaching staff. Yeah, that didn't like each other from the get go. I don't know if you will realize that And I know you certainly do, Ben and you do Ryan that When Adam Gates took the job and was forced to hire Greg Williams, and he brought his father in law. Joe Vitt, who was basically the guy who blew the whistle on Greg Williams or dimed him out. I don't know the exact details, but certainly let the league no They were together in New Orleans about bounty gate, and then they were all there together. Plus Greg Williams Kid was on the steps. He had two guys on defense That definitely did not like Joe Vitt is an associate head coach. Whatever's job was a consultant for a son in law and Adam gaze from the get Go. You know what I'm gonna work, and then it certainly didn't work on the field either. Yeah, I know. And it's just kind of an interesting thing we were talking about right before you came on about how this is gonna be such a unique free agency period coming up because there's just so many teams. Room Arinc to maybe move on from their quarterbacks. And so we were talking about Minnesota with her cousins in the 40 Niners with Jimmy Garoppolo, and you know the Texans, obviously with what's going on down there, you know, Indianapolis needs to be in a quarterback. At some point. There's just so many teams that are kind of jockeying for position. We might see a lot of quarterbacks just trade teams. You know, it kind of feels like a game of musical chairs out there. Yeah, I always kinda reminds me of the way hockey works right where it seems, And maybe I don't know, hockey Well enough, but it feels like they're just swapping defenseman from team to team swapping goalies. I know they do that a little less than they used to. But it's Kirk Cousins and Kyle were together, right. So maybe the Niners want him and Jimmy G. Gets reunited and in New England back with Josh and Bill Belichick, and so it's It's not that anybody. They don't That they don't like their quarterbacks. They just don't love them, right? And I think I think the case is that where the Broncos are withdrew lock and I know you guys. I'm sure ad nauseum. I've had to deal with explaining the Broncos fans that The Broncos going after Matt Stafford or certainly to Shawn Watson doesn't mean they don't like to lock. It means they like those guys more especially right now, where you can easily make the case watching that goes without saying But that Stafford is a better quarterback today under lock, so it will be fascinating to see. And then there's a report tonight out of Vegas. The many months in your e from the Las Vegas Review Journal says that there's buzz on Derek Carr and I'm sure you've got a lot more insight on this. Ben is far as where's that buzz being generated? And who are the teams? You really want him? I'm guessing are the Colts one of them because of what Arcee said about a veteran vision or who else is buzzing about Derek Carr? Cause I don't think I am, but that's just me. Well, the Bears were interested previously. Okay on that would be one to consider. They decided to run it back which Robiskie and it still hasn't really They haven't kind of figured that whole situation out there, But that was one of them. There are a couple teams and one of them include the Houston Texans. Who you know he would. He would love to play for a coach like that. Yeah, well, I mean, yeah, but I mean, he would love to play for him. He would love to play for a coach like that. Who kind of aligns with his Religious beliefs and religious you know, bringing and things like that, rather than the coach that he's with now kind of dozen. Yeah, right. And so I guess if you're gonna throw another name, let's say Watson is gone. And you're not sure exactly what they do or, you know if there's a young guy, Nick Nick Foles certainly falls into that category, too, right? There was plenty of rumors that he was gonna leave football for the ministry and I think he realizes he can do a lot more with whatever his ministry looks like. With all the money to the Jags gave him and now the Bears were giving them that tens of millions of dollars will help.

"If you want to run that kind of offense, and I wouldn't use the first round pick on Mack Jones because he can't play out of structure. I mean, you watch everything in the Alabama offense if there are some great throws on film as a pocket passer. But when things break down and guess what in the NFL, they do, Because defenses are really, really good. It doesn't matter. Defensive line play is far ahead of offensive line, play pretty much weekend and weak out. Think they're going to break down? You're going to be challenged to make a play. I mean, that's just how it goes. And I don't I'm not convinced Mack Jones can do that. Quite frankly, if I was a betting man, I don't I don't think he can eat. He compares to me when he's at his best to Kirk Cousins now. Sure her cousins might look good in the stash. She you might be paid a lot of money. They win some games here and there. Does anybody ever think he's going to be the gotta lead you to a Super Bowl? I just don't see it and everything has to be perfect around those guys. You're basically putting more pressure on yourself. As a GM in the coaching staff. If you build your franchise around a guy like that, in this era football, I mean the best guys can play out of structure. Rogers Wilson, Mahomes Watson. All the guys that are the future of this league. So it's a tough sell for me for Mack Jones and Round one, but I wouldn't be shocked if the team does that. Let's say the Bears do decide to acquire a quarterback, not in the draft. Another position they might need to fill is wide receiver If Alan Robinson is not signed here if he goes on to another team are there's some wide receivers around 20 that aren't like, you know, Devante Smith probably gonna go top five, You know, so obviously he won't be available. Are there some names Around 20 that bears fan should be looking for that they could possibly get there. Yeah, there absolutely is. It's another good wide receiver dress. I think it's gonna be interesting. How it how it falls. Give Jamaar Chase Jalen Waddle and Devante Smith that are better. All players you know, worthy of taking in the top 15 now. You three wide receivers go in the top 15. Well, everybody thought that would happen last year, and it didn't so I'm not counting on it to happen again. Maybe the Bears are kind of the Cowboys of this year where you see the land is just falling, falling down the board. You sit there and go. Oh, we're going to take him. Maybe the Bears get lucky with one of those guys whether it's chase modeler Smith, and if they don't, they're still options. I mean, Shot. Bateman. Adam. Minnesota is a player. I see very, very similar to Keenan Allen. Just somebody that knows how to get to get open, catch the ball and traffic a tough player after the catch pro ready routes and releases. That's what happens when your coach by PJ Fleck, you're going to come into the league and be good to go. So I think Bateman's a really, really nice, but it also gives them some of that size. They'd be losing if Alan Robinson does walk in free agency. If you want to get a little bit more speed and playmaking. You have somebody like to various Tony out of Florida. So there's a lot of options that 20 and if you're looking to stockpile more picks, you can move out of 20. And still get a good receiver at the top around two or late round one. That's how deep this classes right now, Connor Rogers from bleacher report joining us talking football here. I'm blocking Abdullah on ESPN, 1000 and the ESPN Chicago APP As we pivot from the draft to the Super Bowl, Super Bowl 55 bucks in chiefs. You know, Connor, I marvel at what Tom Brady is able to do at 43. What? What do you see on tape that he is able to do at his age and still excel at his high level as a quarterback in the National Football League. I think some of the best stuff is honestly just what he brought to the franchise off the field. That's a team that when he got there, and they all start to believe that they can make a Super Bowl run, there was a different kind of energy down there now on tape with Brady. Everything with him is just timing and understanding of who is going to be open. Where on key downs Right there Down. Just I mean, the bucks are converting ridiculous. Third downs 39. Chris. God, When is somebody that Now you're seeing him rely on and obviously get comfortable with, and they haven't had to go out every week and just win through Tom Brady. But in the really, really big spots, you could see the experience and all of that comes through. I mean, even The game. The touchdown that ultimately might have decided the game that touchdown right before the half the Scotty Miller that's just the plane where you're sitting there, and he sees it and he goes. Why are they sitting there? And what looks like a single high safety? I have one on one coverage with a guy like Kevin King that I know is very vulnerable to getting beat. I'm gonna put the ball where it needs to be. Give my guy a shot, even though this is a very, very aggressive play in this moment. This coverage is benefiting up. So I think what Brady? I mean, obviously, the anti Jamie's in terms of the on field, I Q and the timing and cutting down the turnovers. But I think also, that team just has a leader under center that it's always been a talented roster, but now it's elevated playing at the level that they should have been. It seems like the chief's use The regular season is the preseason. We're just playing possum with everybody until they got to the playoffs when it mattered. Is there any way that this good Tampa Bay defense can stop what the Chiefs have been doing on offense. I don't see it honestly. And I know that's not the answer that a lot of people who won't want to hear over the next two weeks or people will come up with reasons of why they think that the Chiefs could be slow down. I think if the bucks want to win this game, they're gonna have to score more than 30 points. I really do. And quite frankly, if I was a betting man, which here in You know, I'm a New Jersey resident. I can be. I don't I just don't see them able to go back and forth and come out on top with how this Andy Reid offense strikes under the homes and everyone's healthy. You talk about the speed of Tyree. It's just It's really a picture poison situation because Whenever people like Whenever teams like to, you know, shave the coverage, and Brackett a guy like Hill because of the speed, it leaves So much of the middle of the field open for a guy like Travis Kelsey. Now the bucks have speeded linebacker that you think you could run with him a little bit..

Thirty-two NFL Awards

"Every week on this podcast given out. Nfl awards app. The week is over. This could be a bit ambitious but thirty two teams thirty two awards. Let's go we're gonna call this one the best six and ten team of all time award but the washington football team stepped up so now he renamed it already way to change the word on the fly in the moment with breaking news the best seven and nine team of all time award the washington football team now can we say that definitively it may be too early to say last year tampa atlanta both went seventy nine. Those teams didn't even make the playoffs so the early lean is that washington could be the great one of all time. But we don't know yet. Speaking of that game. The clockwork orange award goes to the new york giants because they had to watch i at one point. This season banned myself from nfc east games. I said i wouldn't watch any until the teams are over five hundred. I watch step drop sixty two instead of being super locked into washington philadelphia. And i don't feel like i miss much. I know there's a lot of controversy would get that. Maybe a little bit later but imagine having your eyeballs taped open like clockwork orange and being a member of the giants having to watch that game. Nate sub-field now. Look we can sit here and be upset about it but you could have gone seven nine and got into the playoffs. So how sorry. Can you really feel for the giants the skeletons on the zahara award. Yes some of these awards. We referenced. his some won't get boy when you do get a weird one. You're gonna go man. I get that all right. That award goes to the. Las vegas raiders. Because at the beginning it looked promising. Nice little boat trip trade. Some spices await were crashing into rocks. Not a big deal here. Some locals gathering on the beach here to help nope now. We're marching to our own death in africa so it was very pro gruden. Hey maybe this gruden guy knows what he's doing and then you're like wait. Does this actually suck again. The drought continues. The raiders have not won a playoff game. Since two thousand to the notre dame award that goes to the green bay packers great record high green. Bay's really good. They're thirteen three though the one seat but nobody outside of their own fan base is rooting for this team. Not only because of the history of hatred. Although i imagine there's way more anti notre dame stuff out there than it is anti green bay but no one trusts you. Yes you're thirteen and three but that's three. Nfc conference championship game losses in the six seasons. A couple down years. They've turned this thing around. They are the one seed. But everybody's kind of overt already before. It's even started the parent's weekend award that goes to the new orleans saints. You guys know the deal parents weekend. There's a dad he wants to stay out with you guys. And he's older he's a little beat up and you're like i don't know like we're going to go out. We can't say no. We respect him too much. It doesn't look great. Doesn't make a ton of sense on paper there's some bad stats in there. But you have to let them do it. You have to let them try and the thing is is you and your buddies like there's no way does this is going to end well. The iceman award that goes to the dallas cowboys man and dangerous. What is with this jolt. A don't let us get hot. This is insanity when this was part of the story lines throughout the cowboys broadcast. Yes you on three in a row. Cincinnati san francisco and philadelphia yay. Then you lost the giants at home. You came in eleventh in the nfc but if you were to get in look out. This is now. It's our time you were eleventh in your own conference dangerous. You had sixteen games to prove that you're only dangerous to your fan. Base is or perhaps the understanding of what the word danger beans the g. league award san francisco forty niners. They had twenty eight players. At one point on i r or another injury cova list which was most in the league. They use the most. I are slots. They lost the most games to injury in the nfl. And even with losing record my coach. kyle shanahan. i can't believe how competitive they were. All season law the dabble award. That goes to kirk cousins in the vikings bike. He's gonna win. Nah no one really cares are one in five star people already over this team so their disappointing season was so disappointing so early that it was just all of a sudden just completely off the radar even though they turn some things around there a bit in the middle of the season with dalvin cook but watching cousins dance reminded me of daboh announcing his tiktok account hickory vickery dot mouse ran up the clock coast. Sweeney's got that drill and now he's on tiktok.

Can We Finally Trust Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns?

"Kansas city with six consecutive playoff berth. Clinching the spot with what was narrow win over denver mahomes yet another three hundred yard passing game with no turnovers elsewhere. Kirk cousins kept the vikings in the playoff hunt. Three touchdowns helped erase a double digit deficit before dan. Bailey kicked a game. Winning field goal in overtime. Vikings back to five hundred and then is mitchell trubisky and the bears ten point lead late in the fourth quarter fumble leading to a pair of lines touchdowns and the bears lose again their sixth straight defeat after starting the season five and one and that was the conversation. That was focused on quarterbacks rex. Where your mind goes because the bears and that defense had a ten point lead in the fourth quarter. What yeah no. If you're the real deal then that game's over regardless of stupid play by the quarterback trubisky and and the play call the questionable. Play call at that situation. If you're that team the grind clark and i have been on those teams games overdue. It's flat out over if we're gonna show you how good we are. How great we are i instead that team right. There gave up four hundred fifty yards to the detroit lions. Yeah you really that good forget about you wanted your own i did. You never liked the eighty five bears. Well guess what you can't hold their jockstrap. And i'm sick and tired saying that you're good defense. Most talented deep dang danger. Don't play that. Yeah i see look. This is a team that a few weeks ago. I remember we were talking about the defense looking side. I'd the court the offense because they're struggling so much and again. They're in position to win the game. I'm getting so sick and tired of you. Guys talking out of both sides of your mouth. What do we always say. We wanna team to be together. We want total chemistry. We want complimentary cal not a bears fan not embarrassed land complimentary football. It sucked to what we want. Is it this. Why matt nagy was was brought to chicago so to offense defense would be on the same level you have it and get it and you wanna be right. This is not what it used to be. It's not what it even. Starting the season as being is not what we saw on thursday night against the tampa bay buccaneers and the question was asked early on in the season. It does this eventually wear on. The chicago bears defense. That's an excuse because of the field. It's those eleven players that are coach to play defense at at our coach to stop people. And if you to you had a perfect chance to get your team

Philip Rivers and Kirk Cousins' Season Outlook

"This has become a big part of the season. The the quarterback lawyers out there so it became a topic that i talked about on monday because of the romo defending brady and basically criticizing arians but it seems like a lot of the athletes. Hate the Law offices of romo and collins worth all of these guys that seem to protect the quarterback but then it was another level for the monday night. Game with wentz where people were so mad. Anytime brian greasy would be like well actually was a screen and they missed the block here and it was on again and it looks a lot of guys i used to work with. Espn like name is. They know they are. They got so mad about the. The defense of any of these. Quarterbacks is fair when it comes to the stuff you're at home your home just like the rest of us are watching these games. They give me a break of the tampa thing and then wentz. Yeah i mean. I don't think either quarterbacks in a good situation right now when you look at those two guys. But i also think there's some i mean to to absolve either. One of them of blame is crazy to me. Neither one of our plan well So that to me. It's kind of more a little bit more nuance there. I don't think either one of them are in the right system. That fits what they do right now and the other side of it as well. But that's where you find yourself. Your job is to execute with the situation. You find yourself in. i think carson's little carson's is is is a longer story About everything that's going on there with him to me. He looks like somebody who's kind of just completely lost his confidence you know. See what a guy it out in hoops curious around like in football. We talk about guys to start guiding the ball right. They don't they don't have any confidence or trust and you're really trying to guide the ball and then you end up with some really bad messes. I don't know if a shooter go through a slump. What what that looks like. But that's what it looks like with carson. There's nothing like a quarterback who's lost confidence it really. I think eventually like if you're a decent shooter not just going to not be able to shoot for year. Because you're bummed out. I mean paul george in the bubble so whatever But i don't know what the excuse was another playoff games. I think the biggest thing that you'll notice basketball is a guy who was a guy coming back from some kind of injury and he's good to go it's not like he doesn't trust his knee. And you played a lot of basketball. He's just stuff around the rim. he's inbetween decisions. Sometimes you just forget to drive usually remember used to drive past guys but eventually all that stuff goes away. I don't think there's anything as long lasting in basketball is there is is. The quarterback is completely lost. And then you'll see guys who lose so much confidence they start changing the way they've played like that's one of the crazy things about the cousin story. Is that cousins. Was somebody who took no chances to kind of make his way into the game. And then he had some decent statistical seasons and then he actually started. I think chuck in the ball a lot last year. Know what he actually came around. And then you know. He has dug game after they beat the saints. Which wasn't surprising to me. And then the beginning of this year. He was chuckling at all over the place and they were terrible for complete like changed who they became as a team with cook and yet cousins was great. Cousins will have these moments where he's like two completely different guys which is my biggest with ever putting him up in higher group with with some other people have them up there but cousins to me like in some areas. There's some similarities to rivers. And that i always felt like with rivers man if if if he hits that that hot stretch for him when he get. The postseason like flat goes agree. Example flack over sixteen seventeen games in any season his career. Like you're not. You're not going to buy that as a change of quarterback but he always had that ceiling for manufacturing it for three or four weeks. He's capable of doing that in off they go. I've always kinda put rivers in that category. That if he could get in the tournament and just had to have one of those hot streaks he could carry them and cousins is kind of like the the next version of that were I don't trust kirk over sixteen games but in a three or four game stretch. If you've got the good version kirk cousins like that's that's dangerous. He could actually do something. I always like rivers way more cousins. I wouldn't say this version of rivers but you know he's more accomplished definitely more -ccomplish but i'm just still saying that that rivers his hot stretches lasted longer than any of kirks hot stretches. But i've seen rivers put together three unbelievable games and then just added nowhere. You're like dude what what happened. Like just a clunker can happen so that that to me is where i find a little bit of the similarity there.

Cousins, Vikings overcome Patterson return, beat Chicago Bears 19-13

"Of the NFL, wrapping up Monday a pair of teams Headed in opposite directions. Bears came out of the blocks quickly this season but have fallen since the Vikings rebounding since their one in five start, Vikings and Bears. Minnesota started with the ball ultimately would fumble away on the game's opening drive. Chicago, though, gives it back two plays later, second in 10, full shotgun steps up in the pocket pumps. Fires intercepted it picked up by the hit man. It was bobbled, but Harrison Smith has turned over the Chicago Bears. It's his third interception this season. 26 of his career. And Harry says, Take that review and I'm gonna bring it right back. Vikings get the ball right back, and they wind up converting it into points. It's 33 cousin. Six of 62 receivers left one right back to pass shade for the Anne's own hand. It is taught touched. Oh, Adam feeling with a 17 yard touchdown, he caught it on buster screen. It was a one handed left handed grab and the Vikings have taken us six sirrah lead. Okay. A van with a call in the second quarter bears intercept Kirk cousins and turn around to convert that into points. They get their second. Field goal of the night off that turnover, So it was a 76 game at the half Bears come out of halftime. And they received the second half kick. Dan Bailey puts it in the air. Cordell Patterson waiting for a big return five yards deep out of the end zone, trying to run it out down the sideline. Patterson has seven for his career looking Freddy down the sideline throws up the deuces for the touchdown. Simply what the Bears needed. 105 yard kick return for Cordero Patterson and with it, he ties for the most in NFL history. Vikings would get a couple of field goals in the third. They tie the game and 13 heading to the fourth. Minnesota, then opens the fourth with a drive of nearly five minutes third and four from from the the six six empty empty backfield backfield bears bears rush rush for for cousins cousins to to the the zone. zone. Touchdown. Touchdown. Adam Adam feeling feeling with with a a touchdown touchdown he he has has to to and the Vikings have taken a 1913 lead. Bad snap poll on the P A. T S o. The Vikings could not convert it stays. 1913 Cafe and with the call. 1913 is how it would stay through the fourth quarter. After that touchdown. The teams combined for three more punch. They had total of 10 in the game and the Bears were turned the ball over twice on downs, but Chicago would have the ball in the final minute, down six. On their own. 20 accepts the snap pocket starts to close and falls has no where to go. He can't escape finally gets rid of the football. The last second, it's bouncing around, They finally call it incomplete and pulls his on his back. He's not getting up at the moment. Things time he's hurt.

"NFL starting quarterback. That's that's talking about the corona virus. He gave an interview and was asked about the coronavirus and he said. If I get it. So be it if I die I die. Viking quarterback Kirk cousins. He's kind of taking a survival of the fittest approach to the thing personally speaking right and he says, if I di Di I kind of have peace about that. He said he doesn't believe facemasks work in helping to prevent the spread of covid but he repeatedly said he does he does in fact, wear them because he wants to respect others concerns about the virus so they asked him. Gave from a scale of one to ten. What's your level of concern over contracting the virus? One being the person who says masks are stupid you're all a bunch of lemmings while ten is I'm not leaving my master bedroom or the bathroom for the next ten years cousin said, well, we'll call anybody stupid because you gotta get in trouble for that but I'd be a point zero, zero, zero, zero, zero one.

Dallas Cowboys' Dak Prescott will play on franchise tag of $31.4M

"This was the biggest surprise I think I've said on this show. Eighty million times I thought this was going to get done We were recording this thirty seconds before the franchise tag deadline at like three, fifty, nine, twenty, five, as I'm saying this so you know. Knock on wood that it holds true, but Dak Prescott will officially going kirk cousins route as his long term extension with Dallas cowboys was left. negotiated a long term deal reports indicate that the sides broke off talks as early as march in never really hop back on the wagon the cowboys would like you to know and I wrote back in September that they were offering him more than one hundred million dollars in guarantees. Guarantees which depending on if it's a practical guarantees, are actual monetary guarantees would be an NFL record Dak Prescott would like you to know that they also insisted on an extra year of service for that privilege. It looked like he was. He was searching for more something along the lines of the Russell, Wilson, deal where it was more of a four year more compact thing, and then you can dip again, for your thirty Still Shocked I think he's a top five quarterback I thought Seth Wall Dirty Espn made a good point that if you had to round up, Fi, you know. Two or three quarterbacks that you were sure in five years, we're still going to be top five quarterbacks Dak. Prescott would certainly be one of them so I don't understand why this didn't get done I think it's a gigantic financial mistake. for the cowboys of cost themselves now the franchise tag now becomes the floor. The next franchise tag now becomes the floor for the next negotiating period, and so on and so on. We've seen how this works out. But what's the deal I wonder you know he's? He's one of the most efficient players in the league. He fits well in the offense. You kept the coordinator. Is this Mike McCarthy saying? I WANNA. Get a look at the Sky I. Yeah this one is surprising as well to me. Connor I mean it seemed like they were the last couple of weeks headed toward their kirk cousins situation, but it's still kind of stunning that they took care of their running back before their quarterback like this all dates back to that decision to sign Ezekiel Elliott I instead of taking care of the quarterback, and that and they end up here and now they're in this as you referenced this. Three, year kind of tag situation where the numbers go up, which obviously is the base negotiating point for a long term deal, so you know next year would be. This year's tag is about thirty one million next year tag is like thirty seven and a half million or so, and then they have a choice between the transition and a super high franchise tag the year after that as opposed to the long-term deal. Deal

Will Dak Prescott Sign A Long Term Deal With The Dallas Cowboys?

"Prescott. There is two hours and fifty one minutes left until Dak, Prescott, and Dallas Cowboys can work in extension if not he will be under the franchise tag for the next season earning himself thirty one point four million dollars guaranteed. With the potential chance I, guess up after this season or get franchise tag again. He is now the third quarterback in the history of franchise tags and the NFL to play on the franchise tag. If that happens obviously before after four o'clock drew brees that it what the San Diego chargers. He leaves Don Kirk cousins, does it? What The Washington redskins twice? He leaves town, so history says Dak Prescott will play. This franchise tag may be getting again even but not in Dallas Cowboy long-term. If Your Dad, how do you feel? Do you pumped about thirty one point? Four million dollars guaranteed because if I'm looking at that piece of paper I'm like fucking here we go. Yeah. He's got to be torn. I would imagine I'm sure you're excited. Okay? I'm going to be the starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys for another year. MC, thirty one million guaranteed, but he doesn't feel like he has that long term security that he wants from the team. McKay. You think I'm your guy. You're willing to pay thirty one MIL for one year. Why doesn't that don't you think you should give me five six year extension and give me big time money for down the road? That's where he's gotTA. Be Thinking, but so if he doesn't do it today though. He will become a free agent. When the League year starts next March right now after the season they can negotiate. There's another window after the season before free agency to work a long term deal. I actually had that happened after I got franchise tag the day before free agency, we worked a five year deal or four year deal, so I never hit the market, but I was franchise tag the year before, so they could still potentially do that, but I guess I five year deal was offered to Prescott. Numerous Times but DAK wants a four year deal. Cowboys won a five year deal and we've been told by everybody around the cowboys and that knows the organization that that is literally. The only holdup is a one year difference so that's very interesting to me because it feels like there's it's much bigger than just a one year difference there. Thirty three to thirty five million dollars offered with over one hundred million dollars guaranteed, so if you look at that, they know that the cowboys won a five year deal that means three years of that deal was guaranteed. The other two were not locked in for five years as opposed to attack once for four, so everybody's assuming he's going to sign that deal. They're not going to get a deal done, but it's interesting because. He could potentially get thirty seven point four or something next year if he gets franchise tag thirty seven point nine if he gets franchise tag again I, don't see them running into the situation next free agency. I don't. There's no way that the franchise tagging him again they would. You would think they get the deal done I think that they're trying to see if he and Mike McCarthy going to work, I honestly believe that I think there's now granted. They made him one hundred million dollar guarantee already, so maybe I'm wrong in thinking

Cowboys' Prescott signs $31M tag, still time for longer deal

"Dak Prescott will make more than thirty one million dollars. Maxine does player that tag making me cowboys, the only with the NFL pay three players at least twenty million dollars per year. If Daphne, the CAP was can't reach a deal by July, teeth, the first quarterback to play a season under the tax, kirk cousins two thousand seventeen, so the man who broke the news himself shefty. We're going to turn to you to start things off. Why now for Dak? Prescott signing his tag tender? I think this is something that he's been thinking about all along field and again. You're in a situation where we're GONNA pandemic. We don't know whether they'll be fans this year. We don't know whether the revenues will be dropping. There are a lot of unanswered questions, and in a time of uncertainty, I think. Dak Prescott is opting for the certainty of thirty one point four million dollars. Dollars that become guaranteed once. He does sign that franchise. Tag John told he will do today and again to have that guaranteed. There's not preclude the two sides from having those contract talks though they're no further along at this point in time, dad continues to want a four year deal. The cowboys wanted to sign a five or longer year deal, and the two sides unable to. To bridge their differences, so if Dak Prescott in the cowboys cannot work out their differences by July, Fifteen Dak would play this year for thirty one point four million dollars, the two sides would be barred from having any talks about any extension until after the season, and maybe they find themselves right back in the same spot next year, and if the salary cap stays flat or Or goes down the cost of Franchising Dak next year would be about thirty seven point seven million dollars, which could be prohibitive if the CAP stays flat or goes down Dax going, take a thirty one point four this year, and then take his chances next year, if and when these two sides cannot get a deal done a long term deal done in the next few

Cousins: Empty stadium play could be 'refreshing'

"Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk cousins didn't cry uncle when asked about the possibility of playing games in empty stadiums without fans cousin said quote honestly we practice every day in an empty grass area and pumping fake crowd noise for away games you're used to it OTA practices don't have a lot of pomp and circumstance to them so honestly to go out and just play the game what kind of be refreshing a breath of fresh air cousins says to just let us know that we don't have to have all the smoke in the fire we can just play football cousins expressed optimism regardless he said quote hopefully if it's still not returned to normal we can find a way to make

"The bills first I see first reported I think from Jay Glazer from NFL I'd fax the bills the Buffalo Bills required wide receiver Stefon Diggs in a trade with the Vikings and you said Adam Schefter has more information as a shifter put out what the other parts the deal A. R. the bills are sending a first round pick a fifth round pick a sixth round pick and twenty twenty one fourth round pick for digs and a twenty twenty seventh round pick she thinks the Texans feel right now yeah that's a ton that's W. said I mean that's the whole that's the whole you're given up for de Andre Hopkins or at least what should have been writing up for de Andre Hopkins yeah he is no where Stefon Diggs being is nowhere near the caliber of receiver that the Andre Hopkins is now no he's not and that's amazing what a great move for the bills huh great move for the bills the Vikings get more and so so now the Vikings become well you you would think better he didn't want to play for the river last year with the injuries they had a tight end out wide receiver that also him not getting the ball and prodding and being upset that he didn't get the ball and now do you see the contract getting paid to Kirk cousins it
