Okay, William, thank you. I want to ask you a question on this Jalen Carter situation. You know, there's two witnesses to what happened and those are the two survivors in the la Croix car. The player that was not injured at all and the young lady, I think, was seriously injured. Has anybody talked about what they saw or were they too intoxicated? Or is it just something nobody's talking about? Well, no, I think it's pretty obvious they have spoken to law enforcement. We haven't heard what they said. And I'm sure at some point we will. You understand that, better than that. Have you heard anything at all about them at all? Not a word. I mean, the only thing I heard earlier on was one of them said that they didn't have any interest in suing the university since it was university rental car. I wonder if that's changed. Yeah, I mean, there's a story out today about the family not being happy. I mean, I would think a lot of things have changed, William. I mean, I'll never forget as I know you want those first two or three days of this story. It was about as maudlin and somber, as anything I can remember outside of what we went through was coach leitch. And that was one reason why a lot of people have asked now, why didn't you talk more about the miles arrest at Alabama? Because that story, we were really just in such a state of shock over the Georgia story, but you're right. Nothing has been said on that. And really, there are a lot of questions and we talked about it early on where this story looked like it was going. Remember the AJC report that caught so much flack. And I think the university probably just wanted to get these young people buried without some of these facts coming out. That's just my guess. I have no idea. What? And I agree with you. Of course, the guest you had a few minutes ago. I thought you said that Carter was either racing alongside. When this first came out about Carter, you know, I kept thinking, well, hoping for Carter's sake, the young lady had driven a mile ahead and had the wreck. And he wasn't even around. But I don't know how, if your street racing somebody and they run off the road and kill two people, I don't know how you're not complicit in that vehicular homicide. Well, let me give you a hypothetical hypothetical because I don't know all the facts, but it's pretty obvious based on which slay boss said, Carter left the scene. So pick pick up on what you just got through saying, he left the scene, and then he's back at the scene later. But leaving the scene, he wasn't charged with that, though. Based on which technically he wasn't, he wasn't involved in the wreck. So it's a lead the scene, but the other question is, how do you leave the scene and not render a to your friends? That might be the money, the money question I would ask him at the NFL combine what kind of person are you? I mean, I don't know, again, he was a participant in the it had been bumped in the act. Yeah, I mean, it's a two of us are racing and I'm not involved, but and you crash and it's pretty obvious it was a horrific crash. I think he alluded to the fact that he heard it initially from a mile away, then why are you not racing back there to make sure they get help? Well, I guess the question is how could he been a mile away if according to that interview? He was he was right next to them basically or they were just right ahead of him. And he wasn't a mile away. I think it was the answer. It wasn't a my way. And how do you, how do you not go and see if your friends are alive? I don't understand that. I think this is going to blow up before it blows over Paul. And back to Kirby smart saying there is no culture problem there. Well. I don't know if there is or isn't, but there have been there's been a stream of negativity coming out of this program since the national championship game. Well, and you're right about this one because of the two young people that it was easy to say, well, they just had a wreck and two people died. And now the other thing, I know that guys that speeding, I think the two that survive had seat belts on. Right. Another thought. That makes sense. And the one guy that when her daughter. You practice a different type of law today, but still, based on which slave all said, they only had, they only had enough for these two misdemeanors. Can you explain how that works when you're a solicitor or a DA and you're trying to decide what charges to file? Well, I've never been a prosecutor, but I would say that you look at the evidence you talked to the witnesses and you say, what can we prove beyond a reasonable doubt because we don't want to lose, but slave law also said that they talked a lot of people because of the stature of Jalen Carter, the statue of Jalen Carter, shouldn't affect her. I didn't understand that at all. And it should have been okay. We got some kids racing and one car wrecks and yes, the driver who is obviously culpable in the race, but the passenger certainly isn't. And I just wonder what the passengers have to say, especially that young lady was seriously injured. And I think she was, I mean, I did this year permanent injuries and medical bills in this sort of thing that have to be paid. And certainly somebody's going to go back to university of Georgia because they ran into the car. Explain that to those of us who I mean, the car was rented in the name of the universe of Georgia. Somebody had insurance on the car. Okay. And I suspect that Georgia was self insured as opposed to checking off the block at hurts when they asked you know, use your insurance. So you want to use the auto rental companies insurance. And I suspect that Georgia had a some sort of umbrella policy that covered all other rental vehicles. And why I know that Georgia came out early on, Paul and said, this

Okay, so I agree with you on that. I think what's happened to Jalen Carter, especially stetson Bennett's arrest is completely irrelevant to Kirby smart. The jailing Carter thinks only relevant because it involved an active player, but you're right. Once you leave the program, I mean, nobody asked Nick Saban, you know, what he was going to do about Henry ruggs a year and a half ago. He was already gone. Exactly. And I want to make one more comment and I love legend. Don't get me wrong. I love him to death. It appears to me that he's been charged for the same offense as more than once. That's pretty much what everybody's saying. So there's a real character issue of having to do it. And had he been I doubt he would have done it again. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. It's just that there was nothing zeroed in on that. No, I think he is, he's gone from he may be okay if he does a good interviews too. He's got Jalen Carter now has a lot of problems ahead. Oh, that was my other short comment. I was going to say, if I wasn't alone or if any of those NFL franchises were getting involved in those interview rooms at the combine, the first AI has asked them is that look a little of your background in recent problems if we get in there, what are we going to expect that we're going to find your car wrapped around the tree three days after you get signed? So you're right. I think he's got more problems coming. Well, Frank, it depends, it's the age old issue. Everyone thinks they can rehabilitate someone else, including an NFL club. The fact that this is already out may help him, I think beyond the speeding, it's, I don't know how to I don't know how to characterize it, misleading, lying. But if you've got to go somewhere, you call this number, you've got to ride. I don't live there. I have to tell you. You know, and I don't think they're making it up and not to mention, I didn't know this. They're the ones that said it. The Jalen Carter was given a speeding ticket a few months prior to this horrible accident of going 89 miles an hour and a 45 zone. Yeah, I believe that is correct. And that can become an issue because listen, why do you get a policeman handout speeding tickets? They're in theory, they're supposed to be used as deterrence. Go in that. If you get a speeding ticket limit, you should never speed again. I mean, I think I don't know what that is. Do you slow down? Absolutely. When a policeman gets behind me, I get heart palpitations. Yeah, I just, I go so slow, the guy likes, would you speed up or I'm going to give you a ticket? Yeah, I feel like I did the same thing. I feel like I'm making him want to pull me over. But, you know, I'm not knocking 40. I don't know, really, whatever money Kirby's smart makes has head coach, I don't think that that matters as to his requirement to come out and be with him. I think the real issue for Kirby smart and if you could fault him for anything, I think he was being deferential to the losses that that community suffered and primarily why he didn't do or say anymore.

I have been doing some research on the Internet as far as college football stance and I come up with time month and versus Mike Bobo and these are the stats from the college web way website that I got this from. Starting with Todd monk and his offense for three years averaged 37.33 points per game with 5 and four star players. While the defense allowed averaging 14.83 points per game. Now, OC Mike Bobo last three season, 2012, 2013 and 14 offenses, averaged 38 .6 points per game with four and three star players. With the defense allowing an average of 23.1 points per game, a deficit of 8 points versus defense as far as gorgeous defense. Note that's 1.2 difference. Now, not only that, time of possession, the 2020 21 and 22 offensive time of possession, they had the vowel to minutes and 41 seconds longer than the 2012 2013 and 14 teams. That means you got more than two minutes more of his a play in time, but you still had 1.27 last points per game average. So all in all, the office did better because they had to score more points to make up a difference of 8 points per game. Kirby smart probably knew as far back as two months ago that monkey possibly would be leaving and I think he made the decision in a split second that he was going to elevate Bobo. "I'm a little bit shy of all around sort of do it all backs from Georgia after a little gun shy after the Sony Michelle thing because something Michelle still to this day has not shown that he was he's the same player that he was at Georgia in the pros in terms of being an all around weapon and really good out of the backfield. We all thought that Sony Michelle was going to do that at the base when he came out that he was like, okay, he'll be able to catch the ball out of the backfield. But that's just never happened for whatever reason. But that could just be a Sony Michelle thing. You know, good player, we know Belichick loves Georgia players. Kirby smart is the head coach there decipher of Nick Saban. He was on the dolphins coaching staff that I covered in Miami with Sabin and then he went with Sabin to Alabama and then Georgia eventually. Good football player, Belichick loves those guys. They're talented. They've had a good history with them recently. And you know, you're looking, we talked about it earlier in terms of the quote unquote interest in Leonard fournette. Well, Damien Harris is going into a contract here. So what are you going to do? Are you going to give a running back and extension? Is he going to like the money the Patriots offer? Probably not. So what do you do? You got to keep yourself open. Your options open. And I think drafting a running back at some point this year is not out of the realm of possibility. A couple of things. I am not going to comment much on a Georgia running back after I had my ass singed by one Sony Michelle when I went on 98 5 and I was like, look, I don't love first round running backs, but you know, with Brady and blah blah blah, you're in a win now mode and I think he can be explosive and he can do this and he can do that. background and you first came to my attention for the work you do on mistakes as quote opportunities to learn and improve the key to success in life is learning how to fail well Tell us a little bit about that What what led you to that understanding The markets You know but it's true Pain is a great teacher you know So I learned pain plus reflection equals progress So the markets Markets teach you humility You've got to be aggressive and you've got to be defensive at the same time So what I learned is whatever successes I had in life had to do more with how I dealt with what I didn't know than what I know And so that means taking it in But making mistakes and reflecting on them hey that's a great way to learn right So it's certainly is And there's another issue that you bring up related to that which is hyper realism You have to understand how reality works then learn how to deal with it which kind of raises an issue Isn't that obvious Who gets that wrong Who doesn't deal with reality Well I think that most people have a wish of what reality is and they get upset that their reality is not that And they get hung up in that upsetness rather than to look at it and accept it And then say what does that tell me about how reality works and how I should deal with it I think most people are upset they're stuck in that upsetness And with you something is different rather than thinking how do they best respond to what is their reality That's very San of you except reality for what it is and interact with that as opposed to just being upset about the way the world isn't Well zen or practical So let's talk about some things that you have helped create some products treasury inflation protected bonds tips the U.S. dollar future index risk parity The stock market of China and my favorite chicken McNuggets How did you have a hand in creating all of these products Well you know you just go along with your life and you do the thing you do and then you come up with ideas So in my case I was markets since it was a kid 12 I played around I didn't know what I was doing in the beginning but I played around with markets and I encountered things So I used to start off with commodities I traded commodities grains and meats and all of those things and then this McDonald's wanted to have the chicken mcnugget but they were worried that chicken prices would change a lot And so then I worked with a chicken processor who then made chickens and chickens or grain and I showed them how they could work a deal out where they would hedge the grain and so on and so forth And that's how chicken McNuggets could come out without a fix and stay at a fixed price but anyway one thing leads to another stable hedge on green prices leads to stable chicken prices and therefore a consistent nugget price Right Because the cost of a chicken has nothing to do with the price of the chick It has to do with the price of the grain that you feed the check And so by being able to lock in that price with the producer we were able to lock in the price for the chicken for McDonald's so that they could have stable prices But anyway that other stuff the world evolves and I'm trading and so then I come into trading financial instruments because then we have the printing of money and we have all of those other things So monetary policy becomes thing And one thing learns to another then the idea of risk parity is the idea of how I could balance a portfolio well I wanted to balance it well So one thing leads to another you know Interesting So a couple of a couple of quotes from you that relate to each of the books you've written but I think they're very revealing about who you are One is unprecedented question mark Big developments that haven't happened in my lifetime but have occurred numerous times in history It's not so much that they're unprecedented It's that we just haven't experienced them recently Tell us about it Well I learned about this In 1971 I graduated college and before I went to business school in the summer August 15th 1971 I'm following the markets I'm clerking on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange And president Nixon gets on the television And he explains that money as we know it ceases to exist because then gold was money and paper money was what your claim like a check in a checkbook You could go get your money And he said to the world you can't go get your gold And I walked onto the floor of the New York Stock Exchange and I thought this is a big deal So there would be a pandemonium And I didn't but the pandemonium was rather than go down a lot Stock market went up a lot the most in a couple of decades And then I said wow I didn't understand what happened So I went back and I looked at history and I found the exact same thing happened on March 5th 1933 with Roosevelt to saying you don't get the gold and they print the money and the stock market went up and behave that way And then I learned about the valuations So I started to learn that I needed to go back to things that didn't happen By.

First of all. Let's talk about the good news. I the fact that he played well for those who missed the game and it was not exactly the feature game of the day How did he play. I thought he was fantastic. Four hundred yards four touchdowns as the first georgia quarterback to do that since twenty thirteen for a program that has had lingering questions about this going back even pass through the twenty nine thousand nine season to have a performance like this especially when they couldn't run the ball. At all this was the worst rushing performances. One thousand nine hundred eighty six which is a total yards. Jt daniels doesn't play the way he does it. I think it's pretty fair to say. The georgia probably loses to mississippi state team numbers. Not that highly thought of coming into saturday. We're talking to kinda raw and lane kiffin alluded to that as well. College football season second half bold predictions
