Yeah we're still waiting on the written. Denial from from the secretary of navy office asked. I still have yet to see that So hopefully that's coming in the next couple days. So i can kind of see the see the reasoning behind everything but in the business that ran. You know with the Man me being incident. I mean i'm not owed explanation from the secretary of the navy. I respect that. I just feel like it will help me with the peace of mind. You know understanding hey reaches need you to come in right away this and that you know anonymous then that because at the end of the day as what went to the naval academy you know i knew i had to sir osso. That would be understandable. Yeah so here's the issue of course and again. I mentioned on the lawyer and in always look at precedent in contrast to your deniel as you know so well for other graduates at service academies have been allowed to forgo the service commitment this year. John rattigan grabbed from west point south. The seahawks nolan laufenberg. Air force out of the broncos jorge sedano air grad signed with the rams and parker ferguson. Airforce gratitude signed with jets all undrafted in your similar situation at least from a football standpoint. I'm gonna ask you something. I'm sure you're asked all the time. What had essentially possibly could be the reason. You're not the same as these four. I'm the only thing that i can think. Of is the fact that we're in different branches with me being in the navy and been an airforce. We have different tenant commands on so the way the package works. You're command has the discretion to deny And so my chain of command. There's a has not to this point. I don't think he's gotten all the way up to the secretary of defense yet. What an impressive background to this point in your young life. Welcome to the podcast. Hey i'm beside the thank you. Thanks for being here So i want you to sort of take us through what i just outlined before we get up to the present news of your denial played at navy. Where's home and had to get to navy. And did you choose. Navy over other non service Colleges to play football right. So tim rekindling from memphis tennessee. Navy was asking. I offer my junior year of high school. My dad's a retired navy chief so he did twenty years of service so as soon as i got offer he kinda put the bug in my ear. He always told me about his experiences in the military But we have a lot of influence in the decision. It ultimately came down to navy airforce princeton and yale and i just felt like navy half the total package. I knew i was going to be able to develop as a man. I knew that academic top tier great football program in on top of that had opportunity to serve my country. So named the naval academy became the decision for me. I committed crowley three days before signing day and then the rest has been history Play for years it. Football of their in definitely enjoyed my experience. You know we don't talk a lot about Things outside of sports but just noting that you're navy's twenty twenty one class president was that elected role. How did you become class president right so it wasn't elected row so you kinda run run for office You give a speech in front of your classes. Your classmates i'm in they vote Ultimately so the first election of the top five comes from just a bio sheet. I think about thirty people submitted bio seats in from that you take the top five in the top people give speeches as i was fortunate enough to get in that top five and gave a pretty solid speech in why classmates selected me. So there's definitely been one of the the biggest achievements that i had at the naval academy absolutely congratulations on that now. I definitely appreciate that. So we love taking now up to the draft in april. Did you have an expectation that you might be drafted or you're looking at under three agency to begin with. I knew i was going to be a free agent Kind of went on declared further jaffa was going to be a low shop media even get into the league so i kind of knew free agent was going to be. My pathway is still kind of hurt not to get drafted you know just because you you see a lotta guys going to board. And he wants her name to be called but as the day. I was just happy. I mean perry had nine catches last year at least got a chance to play. He's a backup but former quarterback. I agree i would go into this going. I'm not quite sure not quite sure if i'm going to draft somebody because you're not quite sure you can get somebody as a free agent. I don't know if i'd use a draft pick david in texas. Hi david hey. Cook detail the mechanic detailer because our programs had higher demand we were in the middle of a bunch of conflicts. So the only people i couldn't touch were nukes. Because he's an informational warfare. That's what is specialty is here. "The San Francisco Giants. Hi, everybody. Jack Corrigan, along with Mike Reiss, our producer engineer Jesse Thomas Duck. Niemeyer. Att Master Control. The Rockies have been in control so far this season. They have Won all three. Siri's off, too, was six and to start in this 60 game season, and one of the things they need to continue to do is Win games at home because I think it's going to be one of those elements that plays out big here in 2020. There was a lot of talk of that in the summer camp Jack for sure. And so far so good. The Rockies win a Siri's against the Padres certainly had a chance to make it a sweep. Based on that good starting pitching. Not sure why that roll can't continue tonight. Dicky Gonzalez, who pitched very well down the stretch for the Rockies a year ago and essentially won the job between spring training in the summer camp to be that fifth guy. He has the challenge of being skip the 1st 2 times through the rotation. But he's ready to go tonight. He hasn't pitched it all this year. He was pretty good in the summer camp again is but black has said it's not the same. Not the same intensity. It's not the same competition level. That'll all ratchet up tonight for Cici, but he's a confident guy. He feels really good. Now, a couple of years removed from the Tommy John surgery, and I think he's ready to go. Rocky's on deck brought to US by Xfinity X one the hub for all things sports with the Xfinity sports Zone, the Rockies and the Giants Gonzalez and Cueto. Gonna be interesting. Tonight We'll take our first break when we come back. Mike will visit with Rocky's reliever Tyler Kinley here on the chaos. Rocky's Radio Network played.

It came from divorced families so he got a mom and dad in that home and usually the dad was the breadwinner and mom was June cleaver staying at home and that was the traditional family thing so I think that really added to the support. The kids had if you went up to a baseball game. He saw parents on the sidelines. You out or there's a way game. You see Paris trying their kids to the game so the parental support in the in allow the flint community especially the Freeman. School area was tremendous in really I. I mentioned mentor Louis. My Dad was my number one brochure. Now asking if you had any advice for the people of lent somebody will take. What might that be? Well don't lose faith. Don't give up see what you can do to make the community better Don't just complain. If it's a matter of giddy about politically being a volunteer at a school running for a school board position running through the city council be a part of the solution and not part of the problem. I think that's the big thing in stay in Flint Flint. But a lot of friends that we've got the exodus says I know a lot of people support flint in look somebody supporters. None of Limb Flynn anymore but they they love flint grew up in flint and the really Brag About Flint. But they don't live in. Testing times: the world responds to covid-19
"For months much of the world has watched the story of the new corona virus unfold from a distance. Now it's facing up to the reality of the spread of covert Boutin. Yesterday California declared a state of emergency after announcing its first corona virus fatality. That brings America's death toll from the disease to eleven Britain reported its largest day-on-day increase in diagnoses yet. Eighty seven. People have now been infected. Italy were a hundred and seven. People have died as closed down every school in the country. For at least ten days every sporting event will be held behind closed. Doors in India citizens have been advised not to travel anywhere that has affected by the virus. That may soon be most of the world's countries yet. Despite the spread not every government is doing all that it should to prepare so countries that have very few cases in the range of about one hundred or two hundred cases are preparing for much bigger outbreak. Slovenia chunk of our is our healthcare correspondent in some cases. There is reasonable suspicion. That countries are actually on the reporting or perhaps Not Looking for cases. So they're just testing very broadly. In fact the World Health Organization has advised countries that already have cases to start testing more broadly including people with symptoms of pneumonia and people who perhaps have flu like symptoms but test. Negative for the flu when you say countries that don't have widespread outbreaks are preparing. What kind of policies of preparation are there? First and foremost it's Communicating to people that you know they should expect Things like Schools being closed mass public gatherings in canceled people being advised to work from home. So that's one way to prepare just communicate and have everybody plan and then behind the scenes. Governments are preparing their healthcare systems. So we know that with this disease. People were hospitalized need ventilators of the breathing machines which they may need for quite a long period of time so hospitals have to have some planning around the sort of excess capacity that they would need to have If an outbreak occurs that would require postponing nonessential or elective operations. That require having fewer people coming to hospital for various appointments so Expanding the use of telemedicine so you know people just having consultation remotely rather than coming in hospital the NHS here has talked about bringing back recently. Retired doctors and nurses If there was a shortage of staff so these are some of the measures that countries are considering at the moment but the most powerful tool is knowing precisely who's been infected in America. Yesterday the White House said it would expand testing for the disease nationally. After falsely blaming the Obama Administration for a shortage of testing kits. There are now at least one hundred fifty diagnosed cases in sixteen states. Ten of America's eleven deaths were in Washington state but the outbreak has also flared up in Texas and the BRASA. The first couple of weeks that America had to get its act together for the virus have not gone well. Columbia's are US policy correspondent. The administration was more focused on downplaying. The threat of the corona virus as opposed to preparing for it and the CDC try to create its own tests. It should have been testing lots of cities basically to try and contain the outbreak. Which would would have been inevitable. And the test didn't work. The first batches percent didn't operate as they should have. And that meant that. America's public health authorities were effectively flying blind in the first couple of weeks that they had to really get a grip on the virus before it started to spread as it has in so many other countries and no discussion of America's healthcare system doesn't end up in questions of of finance. Is that having effect on the way things are going here. Yeah absolutely so. In America. Twenty nine million people are uninsured. Which means that. If they go to the hospital they could be liable for paying the full cost of care. Which often is many times more than you would pay if you had insurance so for some people that could act as a big disincentive to get treatment. There are also many millions of people who have health insurance but who are nonetheless underinsured meaning that they have high deductibles. Or if you go to the hospital they have to pay a reasonably high share of the cost which means that for them as well if they were to start getting sick or feel ill. They might not want to go because they they worry about the bills. They have to receive. There is also another problem in America which has access to paid sick. Leave all of those things. I think could make fighting epidemic in America. A lot more difficult than it would in a western European country with universal healthcare system. And how is the American government responding now? The trump administration has floated the idea of compensating the uninsured for chronic virus treatment. Although we don't have full details yet congress is working on a package to pay for the virus response but we don't yet have details in America as elsewhere. One of the biggest concerns for more widespread outbreaks is that health systems will be overwhelmed. As both fears and diagnoses grow that threat is even greater in poorer regions in Africa. Very few countries have sufficient hospital capacity or the kind of specialist respiratory equipment. That's been deployed in China. That makes stopping infections in the first place even more pressing so the plan in Africa at the moment is really focus. Very much on containment. Kinley Salmon is our Africa correspondent that means tracking people who have been identified to have The disease and then looking at who? They've been under contact with and keeping really close surveillance on all of that. There have been some useful lessons from the crises particularly in West Africa. On how to do this well. Because it also means that communication's important getting people to wash their hands and to know what to do if they are infected to call in and inform people and so on and so that's also particularly important in Africa because so much of the population is young and reaching those people is not as easy as it has to reach people who are older and so using mediums like WHATSAPP instagram. For example or radio can be really effective. Another thing that really helps content goes viral and so for example Nigerian comedian depot has created a viral skip. That's already proved very popular suggesting how people can tackle some of the risk factors full covert nineteen tickets by asking. You just saw if I told you you watch one hundred. Tens of dealing with outbreaks once they occur Nigeria and a number of countries in in the region. Actually have quite a lot of experience with this because there are unfortunately other kinds of diseases which they also have to deal with. Outbreak solve fairly regularly team team from Nigeria Center for Disease. Control actually goes out about every week to investigate a new outbreak of some disease and so there is some experience of of how to do this. They use a particular APP that allows you know health workers to input information. Have it quickly centralized so that people can be tracked and so on? I think the challenge is much greater if scale is so vast that the the challenge for these countries becomes more about dealing with people who already sick than stopping people from getting sick at that point the lack of capacity hospitals. I will be a real problem.
Miraculous Mamas Raising Congenital Heart Defect Awareness
"Everybody. I Have Miraculous Mama here. Courtney's taller and she is going to share are with us. The story of her daughter who was born with a congenital heart defects and we just wanted to spread some awareness this month and she volunteered to come on and share their stories. So thank you so much for coming. On Courtney Hi thank you for having me yeah. Of course I'm just GonNa let you kind of take over and and share your story okay. I guess I'll just start from the beginning Tie It all ties in together so it will make sense. My daughter was born with cleft lip and cleft palate and she was born with Iu Gr which is where. Just the baby doesn't grow very well inside of you so she was really Small Small and the clip and cleft palate was what they thought had made her small inside of me Well then she was Born everything was fine but with cleft lip and cleft palate. They're not able to eat as much at Mulvaney or I should say like like a normal baby so they have special feeders that they may be choose on the bottle instead of sucking and so they burn more calories that way so uh-huh Kinley was a growing normally. She was really tiny really not around three months old. I had started noticing that her feet were turning really blue and then they would get really read like as if the blood would gets her feet. Really fast I took her to the doctor doctor and they said it was completely fine. It was just because she was really tiny. Didn't have a lot of fat on her body. They just thought it was. Her being cold is enormously on only happen when she was naked So they brushed it off while one day on a Monday. Something told me to take her to the doctor. I don't remember what what it was but I took her to the doctor. They didn't find anything wrong with her. She was completely fine and then Wednesday rolls around and something inside of me told me to take her to the doctor. I didn't know what it was in. During this time. She had really bad reflux so sh- with Chewing on the bottle should puke Schuch all the time And I'm not talking about like little baby setups. I mean excessive vomiting And so they started her own medication nation. While in this particular Wednesday. I took her in and I don't remember what four I just remember that. Something told me to take her in so I took her in and the doctor doctor at the time has This one in particular has only like three or four times during the first three months of her life and she found heart murmur. The Heart Murmur was not there on Monday it. She had found on Wednesday and she told me she said because she's Kinley with her cleft flip cleft palate They usually go hand in hand Like a heart defects with a cleft lip and cleft palate. They don't know why they usually always find them. mm-hmm and cleft Kiddos. So she was like. I'M GONNA send you to cardiology. Don't think anything of this appointment. I'm not going to Russia. I don't think anything's wrong. Most this kids that are born with heart murmurs nothing so They called me in scheduled the consultation and it was like a month away. I didn't think anything I I thought she was We go to the heart doctor get in there and I had noticed during her echocardiogram that they were focusing law on her. A order I didn't know what it was at the time but I noticed it was focusing on this one spy and then when they said it I knew new was They also were taking her blood pressure a lot and they kept moving at from her arm to her weeks and they just kept telling me. That's normal you now. We just got a check and obviously they don't tell you why they're checking Afterwards they told me that with her congenital heart condition which is correct a arctic. Valves that usually ninety nine percent of the time a blood pressure in the arms is higher than the blood pressure in the lakes wchs. Meaning she's getting more blood flow from her belly button up than she was getting from her belly. Button down which in turn explains why her feet were always turning blue and they miraculously turn red and they would be really hot when she got the blood flow back inner sheet and whatnot but the doctor doctors told us that she had car of the two and that he was really surprised it was not found at birth? He said that she was definitely born with But during her first growth spur in my have stretched it out releasing To the point where it was finally found in the heart murmur summer started we wentz. He wanted to do surgery immediately he but he had to get a C.. T. Scam because he needed to decide decide if it was better to crack her chest or go through her back. Now I didn't know heart. kiddos could go. They get open heart surgery through their back doc but I guess they can. He said that technically it is more painful than cracking their chest because their chest is so robbery at the Asian and that it is easier for them. I guess to recover from but he said going through the bags more painful because they have to go through more more tissue. I guess I'm not sure. That's just what they told me And I he asked me what I wanted and I told him. I said you're the doctor you know what you're doing doing. I want you to choose so Obviously from very young age I learned to advocate for kindling. Just because of all her reflux problems. uh-huh getting hurt dosage. Always up because her Medication was never working right when she would gain weight And he told us that he it was surprised that Kinley had virtually showed no symptoms of it and that he didn't know why all of a sudden it it was fat and he said a lot of times these kiddos. The Co art are never found until they're an adult hood because they have high blood pressure problems and so so on and so forth so he wanted to get a cat scan. And I guess whoever schedules the C. T. Scans wasn't in work work on Monday or Tuesday so I call on Wednesday. They're still not in work so I finally pushed to speak to the manager. Because I'm having you know cardiology call me and asking. We never rescheduled it and whatnot on. She had to have a special kind. She had have sedated. CT Because they had to find out if they need to go through her backer her chest. Well then we finally get the C.. Scared on Friday and he told us off of a win he said. Don't leave the hospital until I tell you he's like I just need to feel good about seventy guys home and I never thought about anything about it and He comes any fines us after the CD SCAN and he says you're not going home Go home and her surgery was going to be on Tuesday and So we were to have Friday Saturday Sunday Monday together in the move Tuesday more than for her surgery and he said you're not allowed to go home it's way tighter than re-thought or it starts to release in within the last week and we said okay. He said he felt having her on the monitors. Twenty four seven was better than sending her home and we agreed. And then and We went in. She ended up being pushed to Monday and They did the surgery and Dan she obviously was in there. I want to say for about eight days afterwards A lot of blood pressure medication. She had really high blood pressure after the surgery and whatnot But basically I just wanted to spread awareness because my daughter's was almost wasn't found it was almost too late because it was Virtually truly unseen on the cat scan part of her Yada And so I just wanted to spread the surroundings the symptoms with my daughter. I did a ton of research afterwards in had I known the signs of what to look for. I hope it could help find someone. Help someone find their kiddos For every twenty six babies that are born with genital heart effect. Only eleven or found that is English rush. It should be way more than I think. Twenty six to twenty six should be found
Reactions to Trump's impeachment acquittal
"To get it in I mentioned earlier in the show that the the the whole thing with there were so many people in December during the the house during the actual impeachment proceedings that were celebrating on social media believing you know the willfully ignorant believing that impeachment means removal and then you you look at I guess the last couple weeks there've been a few that I've seen it's over for him he'll be he's done and it went from he'll resign by the end of the week to well he's definitely not going to win in November and you and I don't make predictions but you look where the strings are right now with this president you look at what Chris Matthews has said not just about what happened not just about the state of the union or anything else and then van Jones banjo that on that at the last debate and and what he said he didn't see anybody on the stage that night they could be tribe and on yesterday talking about look Democrats have to understand trump is going after the black vote and he may be able to get a significant portion of it I mean you you look at that and the Rasmussen had on in terms of black votes forty two percent and we said okay fine cut that in half favorability rating yet favorability rating of forty two percent cut that in half let's say it's twenty one that's massive I don't remember Republican I'd have to go back and and look at the last Republican that had that kind of support but it it's it's like they're still some that are in denial over what the left has got it I wonder if it's who was it that said her friends during twenty sixteen with just a draw the curtains in and close the doors and turn the TV TV are in doubt burned out yes if there was any negative news about Hillary that would just bury their heads in the sand but it's just on many fronts I'm just talking about the chatter on social media it's very quiet right now by the far left look they hate to guide the make fun of the guy they must they mocked the guy but I don't see them promoting their their some for Bernie there did the burning crowd was there but really I mean there's not the porch there was in twenty sixteen there's not the I don't I just don't see it it it's maybe it comes together but it's not happening right now well one thing that we monitored on the show over the last five months is the number of responses that we got especially after the cross after the house impeachment hearings were done in the articles of impeachment were actually written so the cross examination was done we had Democrats that would speculate in September and in October and November and cut well with that you guys are wrong they're gonna get him today and it never happened in fact the opposite happened when the witnesses came forward in the house but once that was completed our I believe we have had only for phone calls mmhm and that would be since thanksgiving of anybody attempting to defend the the Democrat point I believe three out of those four phone calls because you wanted a moderate because we we were saying to ourselves this is really incredible because we know what the Democrats think that they have a point mmhm and we find it incredible three out of those four we're only saying the only point they had was a talking point well of trump was innocent he let everybody testify which is again the philosophy that you are guilty until proven innocent right that it's it's upon the defense the burden of proof is on the defense not the prosecutor not those making the charges which is false and we had so we had one phone call on the issues and and that fell back real quick I can't remember what point they were trying to make that they made the point and we countered whatever the point was they weren't there was like silence so I'm not you don't anoint there but that's it and that's why we have with confidence said every single Democrat listening right now to the show knows that the impeachment and the impeachment trial was bogus they don't know the articles of impeachment were bogus they all know what every single Democrat senator knows that their vote was bogus they know what was purely political it was not in line with what the constitution has said impeachment should be about they know what you know Eric if you were talking about the fact that Mitt Romney should debate Alan Dershowitz and that we would laugh because it's never gonna have not gonna happen it's the same as climate change yes you had the one thing tank last year attempt to have a debate on climate change they brought in experts and said you know the scientist climatologist that said now look they're throwing on Tuesdays doomsday scenarios and that just isn't the case it's wrong they invited dozens of climate change activists to debate it nobody would show up nobody under cross examination the left does not want to defend what they believe in no no they don't and that's why with confidence we have said we know what we've done this a long time run hundreds and hundreds of the greatest radio stations across the country we know if we make a mistake on something as simple as when we kid about a Hogan's heroes that was the first time member we said about old in zero right or or what we were kidding them bad when we first got together well when we were first in back in two thousand five wasn't while when we started doing the show together and we Kinley said you know use the term the you of the line from animal house word was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor and we were just inundated with people the people on the left you guys secure your your you guys are just wanna be's you're even know who bombed Pearl Harbor we know it was the French exactly so it is so believe me we know we've dealt with that when if we make any type of of mistake you know read something you know but we we get something and we read it and we you know get the number wrong for certain you know if we say trillion instead of billion boom they're they're cheap you guys are no credible you got that wrong saria yeah we did done did mean it because the last thing we want to do is argue something that's not true right we don't need to do that they need to do that and so we know that every single Democrat listening right now knows that the impeachment was bogus they all do yes every single Democrat senator knows it was bogus anybody in the media the paid attention to it knows it was bogus the majority like I said when of response you know email whatever we get if somebody is trying to make the case are actually ignorant on the law ignorant on impeachment or ignorant as to what actually happened I think one of the the one call was talking about the fact that although the witnesses are all testified against trump was no they did no just the opposite no and I've used here is or when the opposite right so you know we know even your Bonaventure when in cross examination I came down what she didn't like the guy yeah she was she was upset that she was fired and and we get to Romney and the discussion on Romney and your work and I were just having a during the top of the hour and you're trying to make the point look he knows it's not constitutional and I agree with you I got you this is this is where you try to get well what's the motivation behind it you just tear down the the what's more what's more what would lead what would be left on the table if you if the knowns take those off the table what's left we know that he knows the constitution we know that right we know that he does this whole thing was bogus we know that so it was about one thing his hatred for the president it's that simple his trolling it's the equivalent of trolling because tell me where the risk is in Utah I'm convinced he's not gonna run for a second term I maybe maybe I'm wrong I believe he's one and done as senator from Utah but tell me where where does that red put everything on the on the table and what's most likely he just has a huge dislike or hatred for this president because he had a story here even as arguments fell apart we claim the trump had withheld vital military funds that you didn't withhold he didn't know what hit them but we didn't eight here's a quote Corp corrupting election to keep oneself in office is perhaps the most abusive and destructive violation of the oath of office that I can imagine what one well there was no election it was corrupted in no way no national security interest the Wall Street journal here if their analysis no security interests were jeopardized because other senators and advisers persuaded Mr trump to release a military aid all even challenge out from the Wall Street journal I don't know that for a fact no no and now here's the other theory that I that I didn't include go high I know that there were people encouraging him senator Johnson or whatever yes I know this is necessary right but I don't know that that's why he made the ultimate decision I don't know that I don't have the testimony that gets me to that point precisely that I would need though the one theory that I have not put on the table is is maybe the the most obvious that we missed Mitt Romney is a robot what what Linda Hamilton from terminator two you know I believe it and you had that for a long time he has and it because it's true can I get sued for that please sumi Mitt Romney go ahead well and here's what happened I think Adam Schiff reprogrammed his his his explanation was so weak console falls yeah so easy to tear through yeah that you sit there and you say well it can't be it meant more read more Mitt Romney is smarter than this mmhm he was always he was re program right he knows that's not that he's no that's not the truth so you get to the point if it wasn't constitutional and it wasn't legal what drove him to do that exactly is this like for his residence like what do you want to make college dislike hatred ever to whatever I you know I again I can't get in somebody's mind but when you break it down and say but every argument in cross examination of Mitt Romney's explanation you can tear to shreds yeah so then what was it afterwards and so when people come to that conclusion I can understand them coming to the conclusion one thing I can tell you without question without getting into his mind he is wrong constitutionally yes and he's wrong on the facts that he actually stated on the Senate floor as to what happened he was inaccurate in his analysis when when you set aside your critical thinking skills and your knowledge of the constitution and put it behind your distrust your dislike or your hatred I don't know how I don't know how to do that I don't I don't know what drives you to do that because you can see he could still go back to his home state and say look I didn't I think that was not the right call to make I would have done it but it did not rise to impeachment it did not rise to to removal when you start talking about the fact that by the way that he was grappling over it you know that this was this was such a tough decision on I had to make the right decision for my kids when you start talking like that you know you're trying to justify your vote yes I wouldn't have to say that no I would have to bring in my family or anything nope it was easy right what I mean it was tough either he did it a read either he did something that was impeachable or not stand up and be a man don't sit there in a book because my my family and it was tough stock toss what are you teaching your family about the constitution right and where and when he started doing that I said wow he's tried to justify his vote yes because he knows it's bogus yes
Full Trump Impeachment Transcripts Released For First Time
"And we begin with breaking news today the congressional impeachment probe is going public for the first time here is the scene in Washington is house. Investigators are releasing the first transcripts from their high stakes impeachment interviews showing the world what some witnesses witnesses testified about president trump's Ukraine cream clot you're looking at of course that House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff he was stepping out to the cameras here to recount damning testimony from the former ambassador to Ukraine and banned from Mike Pompeo's deputy at the State Department as one of the first witnesses to this irregular backchannel that the president establish with Rudy Giuliani the degree to which the apparatus of the State Department itself was being used to seek political information for a political local purpose by the President United States tomorrow we are scheduled to release the transcripts of Ambassador Volker earn a Bachelor Sunland and we will continue to release the transcripts in an orderly way Democrats say this orderly release ace of calls and transcripts and everything they have that is supporting the evidence will ultimately deal with the Republicans bluff and what they say are basically bad faith complaints about this probe and processed thus far democrats say that everyone will then see the same interviews the same allegations the same corroboration of trump Giuliani plot it's so concerned career diplomats army officers and other nonpartisan veterans now I'm going to go through right now just a few of the high points. Today's release provides four hundred seventy three pages of of new testimony and it paints a rebuttal to the emerging argument at trump's Ukraine mistake or plot with some sort of simple phone call or just an uncompleted request that's part of the defense that trump allies have lined up but here you have impeachment witnesses like a former ambassador saying Donald trump threatened her for her objections to that infamous July phone call recounting she was shocked and surprise trump would speak about me or any ambassador in that way to a foreign counterpart the point there is that this diplomat was concerned trump was acting more in concert with foreign interests in this shadow agenda then the State Department she details this by going on and showing how a now famous trump loyalist Mr Gordon Sunlen advisor to address these internal attacks on her by going political saying quote you need to go big or go home tweet out there that you support the president and then all these are lives and everything else well that is improper advice career diplomats do not go oh big on public political endorsements anymore than military leaders do both categories of service members steer clear of for example both parties political conventions engines that's just to avoid any perception that currently serving officials at the Pentagon or state are just political partisans then tonight we can also report report on new testimony about the intersection of this shadow foreign policy plot and the president's shadow communications arm because a Fox News anchor who shared a lawyer with the president whose name arose in the Mueller probe is back in the new transcript out tonight this ambassador details how Sean Hannity's attacks on her and his alleged support of aspects of Ukraine plot made it at the highest levels of the State Department where some officials called Hannity seeking any evidence to support basically these red hot allegations against her the testimony stating that these officials asked basically Fox News. Hey what's going on do you have any proof of these kinds of allegations or not and if you have proof tell me and if not stop press reporting can of course draw any kind of pushback or dialogue from the government that itself isn't automatically suspicious but impeachment investigators are probing the theory that this was part of the shadow foreign policy to hijack diplomacy for trump's reelection fox news itself as rebuked handy for for what you see on your screen his appearance at a trump rally which of course makes them look less like an independent reporter and more like trump surrogate so keep all that in mind when you go all the way back to march on Hannity's show which by the way doesn't usually delve into the names of individual ambassadors to all the different countries around the world but on that show they went in named named check this one you have a Novic and that looks especially interesting given what is coming out today that Giuliani and others were trying to oust her letter surfaced I from a senior member of Congress to Secretary Pompeo accusing the current US ambassador in Kiev a bad mouthing the trump administration we also now know that the current United States Ambassador Marie Ivanovich has bad mouth the president of the United States this woman needs to be called home to the idiots that's unhappy show that's trump's big booster lawyer Joe Digenova and that's what they were saying about the ambassador back in the spring we now know here's why I'm showing that tonight and why it came up in today's release testimony we know that wall does public attacks were occurring Fox News taking a sudden interest in a random ambassador Rudy Giuliani was pushing Ukraine plot and that's not all that Fox News Larry just saw there to Geneva who's making that case with Hannity he legally Wrigley represents the conservative writer who was pushing the same Ukraine plot so that's the context for this ambassadors testimony about what looks like a coordinated smear campaign not not only the ouster but to get a bribe out of Ukraine to help trump win reelection now the other new transcript today comes from an aide to Secretary of State Pompeo who criticized the administration for using the State Department for this quote to procure negative political information for domestic purposes and when asked about efforts to quote us the State Department apartment to dig up dirt on political opponent Kinley responds in thirty seven years in the foreign service in different parts of the globe and working on controversial issues ten years back in Washington I had never a scene that I'm joined now by former Federal Prosecutor John Flannery Hawke a former White House and State Department official administration Good evening to both of you know what is the level of significance of these of these disclosures in your view and how unusual are they given your experience to have any of this going on inside the State Department and it's fascinating in a very period reading a political thriller Type Way and it's completely out of line line with how we usually run national security and diplomacy efforts what we're really seeing is how the president and a day by day basis was effectively extorting a foreign in government to be able to advance his own political interests renal damage was a was a career official who's doing her job as best as she knows how she's been trained to do and and Giuliani and his goons that are sick on her to try to make her bend to do the president's specific political bidding that's what we're seeing in the transcript I also find find very fascinating how trump's twitter account has really filtered down to the lowest and highest levels of diplomacy on the same day in which president trump trump there's accounts of how his staff was trying to do a fifteen minute delay and his twitter account suddenly the same day we see a transcript that says an ambassador has to tweet her loyalty and praise of the president is all about his own personal ego and not about the security walk us through what you're getting at there because obviously there are people people are welcome to go out and say whatever they want about great any politicians right people in public life in America the political arm the campaign arm you're saying ah we mentioned earlier in our reporting that the State Department like the Pentagon is supposed to be totally walled off from that and this is the part where we talk about country over party it's actually actually part of the service agreement that Foreign Service officers at the State Department who are the career diplomats military officers over at the Pentagon and the armed force who says they are supposed to be advancing the interests of the country and the policy there is a layer political appointees who tried to steer the ship and the direction that the president may want they're usually work together in concert and not against each other but at no point is it supposed to be praised the dear leader this is what we think it is about praising America America independent whoever holds the White House John Let's stipulate that these officials who many of them we've noted are are bipartisan experience. Say this is terrible terrible bad reform policy people might get fired over it that's all of the policy personnel side but this isn't just that level this is a higher level today these I transcript we've seen tonight ever in the impeachment probe do you see anything in here that hits the higher level of evidence of a high crime yes the thing thing that I was interested in that I didn't realize because I didn't focus at the time when Hannity referenced the Congressman He referenced Congressman Sessions from Texas You may remember that he was the target of the two associates of Rudy Giuliani to receive funds to write the letter attacking advantage so in a moment ago you were talking about kind of the the the rat's nest of how these people are all intertwined gentleman I don't think he said S. maybe I mean I was thinking when you were saying it but so what I see is a connection here and it goes back I like all compulsive lawyers here's I read at least the beginning of Ivanovich testimony and at the beginning of the Republicans who wanted to be in the room we're in the room and they did everything they could to be dilatory into the delay what was going on unsuccessfully but on top of that gave us a sense of what she was going through over there and how they were spreading word that she I was saying some people shouldn't be prosecuted which was ally and this goes back to November of eighteen and coming forward so this is a long campaign and Rudy Giuliani was in there from the beginning as we've learned from other witnesses so I think that th the pieces are here and people fairly read the transcripts all this they saying about could pro quo goes away and all we're faced with bribery and extortion and misconduct but by many more people just talk to John you're saying these transcripts alone we're not up to everyone who was on the call this isn't that part that's not the first hand account of the call the investigators investigators are saying they're releasing as they go but this part you're saying provides what part of the bribery plot well what it provides is we have to get out of the way somebody who would prevent ah rural rudy from doing when he wants to do which is to create the situation for the president to have an easy pass and the twenty twenty election having having them announcing bogus investigate only I'm only slowing you down because there's so much happening here Before I got another lawyer I'm going to bring in with you as if my first lawyer you're saying basically if the briefcase briefcase bribe is getting the Biden investigation some of these diplomats were hearing from now where people in the room who would say don't do that we don't do that and so we're seeing the part of the conspiracy tonight according to these transcripts were first those people had to be cleared out of the room then you bring in abroad yes that's and it looks like they were they were working on parallel tracks but she was always a danger because she was a straight shooter and they he didn't want a straight shooter and they wanted to be rumbling around behind the Green Curtain doing what they were doing both for apparently Rudy's own personal bank account but also oh to help the president get this dirt on Biden and that became especially true in July when he was polling better Biden with polling better in the Democratic Democratic primary opponent both these stay with me as promise I wanNA bring in another lawyer in one with tremendous experience Roberts General Counsel at the NSA senior roles at CIA and Defense Department good evening to you sir a good evening Sir I put the same question to you and without profiling you too much a part of your job is to look at this from the perspective of the Intelligence and security agencies to give you know the tie would go to them typically on your day job right give them a benign nine view of or at least a defense of what happened given your experience in that and you look at what we're seeing in these new transcripts do you see a way that this breaks towards the trump administration or does this look well over the line to me this looks well over the line as a lawyer whenever I hear about a complicated case I always try to put myself in the position of defense counsel what is it that I would argue and I don't see it here and you know the people have objected to to the quid pro quo perhaps because it's Latin a much easier good old Anglo Saxon word is bribery and it's actually mentioned in article two section the three as one of the high crimes and misdemeanors this was an attempt at bribery. Do me a favor and I'll give you four hundred million dollars in military sorry aid yeah you laid out congresswoman Speier who's on the Intelligence Committee making a similar point that you raise their the idea that we are we are looking working potentially here at the allegations of a bribe here's what she said I think that you could make a case for bribery now and I think that discussion needs to be seriously developed and considered because there was an effort to to try to get something of value from misters Alinsky the president of Ukraine Robert how important is it if the Democrats are moving towards making that case and she is on the key committee here that's releasing these transcripts to show that this was a larger plot that there was a premeditated strategy as John and I were just discussing to get anyone who might object out of the room and then
