"Even though i'm not. I don't know that she truly route towards. I do think if you went back and looked at her second rate Where she masked you four. He's a very fast philly in their own right and that was a high level performance. I mean she's got she's got the talent To run with the horses. I did think that her Her row debut which was a bit of a fluke. Flukes wrong word. But i still didn't really totally taught sort of a to turn horth and she didn't look like one In the fairgrounds oaks. But this is a different kind of race track than fairgrounds. The short shorter stretches the pig aides. Who a horse seventieth miler who is trying to see it out and she got back on right on the right footing. I thought in her allowance rates last time after struggling a little bit. I think she's much better than we saw in the eight bells for whatever reason And she's twelve on the line. I think she's going to be eight one at least And at that price sitting in behind. I hope they talk right in behind what i think is going to be legitimate than she. If she can sustain around for like three sixteen of a mile and get up interesting. I certainly gave little tootsie A look in here and will will want to include but you touched on lovely ride who is among the most lightly raced Phillies in here. And that performance at churchill was eye popping and She runs that race again. then she's gonna take she's gonna take some beating and they're going to have to run her down and i thought You know as third choice. She soups as three to one. For mandela you mentioned the west coast shippers and We'll secret you're five to favorite but Lovely ride four to one. I thought was a was a very nice value. And i can't discuss this race. Marcus without stopping on malloy for a minute. Who i was doting on going into the churchill foster card In the tappin. I was all excited for catman to move. This one to grass and word came that the he was going to scratch and save her and he keeps her on the main track in this. Indiana oaks. try i think you know. She's got some talent And having you know really zeroed in on her in the tappin which navratilova ended up winning i. You know. I've i've got at least consider her in in this spot as well. Although i'm hoping that ultimately she'll she'll move to long. Yeah i will say about lovely ride. I haven't suspicion that She's going to get that heavily. I don't i doubt it's going to be two. One seems like many years in this race. A horse win sharply churchill against lesser enron staff and ends up taking a lot of action. I think i wouldn't be surprised to see lovely ride night. Be negative value At post time which is one reason. I kind of steered a little bit away from her. I just have a bad feeling about the way the price is gonna go and he and he referendum from you on on malloy. Well i mentioned before before it could beat her by five lengths. If you want confirmation of that horses quality i do. I thought the she's a little similar to To little fritzy in that she she didn't finish off for her to turn rates like you'd really hope that the and then they cut it back and she did well another horse who might benefit from The tracking figuration and the way the rates could be run. I wonder Base think going to your turf desire. I wonder if she might get a little farther more comfortably. At the graph it does might pedigree wise. That might be where she she could. She'd be suited. And as you mentioned the west coasters suits say Who was bested by crazy. Beautiful then turned right around And one again For mcpeek and didn't take that one a tremendous rate all women here at lady aces is the other one for c. r. k. c. r. k. home-bred. Actually peter mandela has never run a horse that indiana grand so. This is an unusual food and And radiate is Peter run one fourth claims accurate and can make twenty eighteen. "The same goes for golden principle. So perhaps they're just hitting best stride now. But i thought both of these horses just benefited from the reportedly placed trips in this race. And i'm not ready to declare them as some of the top players in this division even though this race came back reasonably fast. I mean bob baffert certainly has mean back in the stable and and these horses quite obviously are to natalie get so so we'll see how tough these racist come up in the future. But i'd like to see them do it again. Bob baffert continued success with the phillies and mayors on sunday. Santa anita as well. We're not going to talk about the stakes race. They ran that day. They did run a high level allowance race earlier in the day. One by second. Time starter happier. Who's now two for two in her career beating another impressive maiden pharaoh's heart. Both these horses coming up debut victories happier. Just got the jump on. Pharaoh's heart this time was able to hold your obey through the stretch. But i think both of these horses are pretty talented. They did kind of odd. The c. four year olds like this. Who had both won their debuts pretty easily happier been on the sidelines for awhile but they both ran fans time form. Us figures in debut. They did so again here. I don't have the exact number Excuse me because it was all. Take over for a sec. Clear throw at least we'll get to the speed figure a little bit. I'm assuming it's a pretty fast. Race looked so in connect in comparison with some of the other races of the day But happier is interesting to me because while she shown plenty of sprint speed and these first couple of starts bob baffert did choose to start her first time out in a seven furlong maiden race indicating that maybe she'd to go farther in the future and her pedigree certainly indicates that she might have the potential to handle longer distances. She's by street says and she's actually a half sister to. King zachary that very good dirt router that used to be in grab bar. I think he will win. A three year olds but most notably he won the fourteen furlong bird stone setting or breaking. I should say a very old track record at saratoga..

"Race. Finishing <hes> i think actually last the nat spot but he bounced back really well here rachel alexandra's little brother and was closing a pretty well at the end to be second behind. Tom states. I know tom sabas getting eased eased up a little bit at the end by the margin of victory was a little bit less than an otherwise could have been but nice to see waterson step forward. I think he's a four year old now. So we saw awesome upside and one twenty-one is a solid number roars like that your kind of interesting he was back much further than it usually is in his races so maybe maybe they found something with him and we'll see running style out of him more going forward 'cause he seem to take right to it. One of the coolest racists from last week at saratoga <hes> <hes> probably doesn't get the accolades that deserves was zachary winning the bird stone on thursday. I know it's probably hard to quantify a mild on three quarter performance that given that we just don't see that distance run will basically ever except for this particular race in the breeder and the marathon sticks breeders cup weekend but this was a pretty special performance by king zachary because he's obviously a horse that really does want to go this far and it seemed as if marconi marconi was carving out a pretty fast pace for the distance all things considered early because you have to keep on twenty four and forty nine opening up a little bit of daylight on the rest of the field for demanding distance since like solid fractions and yet king zachary who wasn't that far off that pace came home really fast in this race i was looking at track as he ran his final quarter at twenty four and two or something like that and his final eighth and final half in in i think forty eight and change this horse was just flying home at the end of a race of most horses should be staggering auguring isn't it. I mean that's why one by eight nine f lance. The rest just didn't have a whole lot left. He looked like he was in another league and enormous with these races are kind of tough to get a handle on but i i've rated this one because it's you know one of some note i usually don't do races over a mile and a half unless they're graded rated stakes but i did this one anyway and i had a pretty good foundation with marconi rocketry running over and over again at longer distances so i have no problem with that one twenty four. I think it's a legit figure i think it was very well earned and it was another one of those track records we were talking about. I'm not sure how much weight to put onto that thing. <hes> if i'm not mistaken this one i think men are were held. Maybe taught so. It's really fun to see what's going on in this division because i ah it's cool what they're doing it in iraq. I i know that these races don't get big fields and and some people don't like seeing these these very long dirt races. They don't get the point of them but they keep scheduling them. It is kind of cool though that you're seeing certain horses really just find their niche and these longer races horses like like rocketry and marconi and king zachary we saw a few from years ago even horse like campaign out in california arrays like the brooklyn on belmont getting a really competitive diverse field runners. It's pretty awesome and we're actually seeing them break. Some long held track records going back to last fall. Rocketry broke man of war's track record for a mile and five eighths a dumb. I was thinking that it stood for almost one hundred years and in this race king zachary broke the track record by over two seconds which in horse racing terms is just mind boggling. You usually see track record broken by hundreds of seconds. <hes> i know it's a longer distance but he broke ray counts track record it was set in i believe nineteen twenty eight so this one is what is that ninety one years old bed track record so it's just really cool and you go back and look at the accomplishments of some of these horses that they're breaking the track records of ray count <hes> i was looking up his his history he actually won the kentucky derby and as is a four year old. They shipped him over to england and he was second in the ascott gold cup. Can you imagine that today. I mean you just unimaginable but pretty cool to see king zacharia take on a truck record. I hope i like that yeah and i'm with you. I want more of these races. I think they're great and the more you run. I think you'll find more horses that find that that's our thing either especially these older horses when you watch these longer races overseas to get out of horses that stick around that normally would be retired or just wouldn't be be as effective so it gives them a place to run. We can use all the horses we can get running races and and i hope neighbor keeps breathing before we had to the two year old races his <hes>. There's one more race. I want to talk about from saratoga on sunday. The way up were fool's gold one. I don't have a ton to say about this race. I think the big the story of this race was the fact that santa monica just didn't really run horizon this spot <hes> she was the heavy favourite coming in and she she was just kind of a dull <hes> is she really had her shot at the top of the stretch and just couldn't produce that late kicking it was actually the other shad her stablemate fool's gold to has really improved stretched out in distance and she got the victory over some other rivals. Probably just <hes> aren't quite at this greatest digs level. Yeah i would agree with that. <hes> the the one thing i saw naira didn't offer show betting on this race switzer's really perplexing. Make us look at it. I said santa monica is not that good. Why are okay not having show betting on this and sure enough. She hit the board so i guess maybe there is a possibility there could have been negative show but anyway anyway i mean. I don't care what one way or the other if they offer show betting. I just found it odd in this case it. She just didn't look all that good may she didn't look. I guess six to five favor to me and that's how she ran and she's you know these are listed stakes. Phillies really may be great three and i think that's what we got yeah. I was trying to take a shot against her in this race did did with the wrong horse because i know santa monica had been winning some races earlier in the year but she wasn't running the kind of speakers that she had in the past and she was just making these decisions <music> outer or losing as the as the heavy favorite by a nose and just not really running the same kinds of races. I think she's a six year old now so she's getting a little long in the tooth and she's she's just probably not the same horse that she was last year and her stablemate. Who is i think only a four year old as just surpassed her at this point but all of that said these. He's not the top phillies out there. Chad brown has probably ten more that are better in his stable going this distance so <hes>. I don't think we'll be seeing them. Step up above grade three company anytime in the future jour- del mar discuss some races there including some turell races. We're going to save the two year olds for the end of the podcast though i will begin with the yellow ribbon which is run on on saturday and pretty salty field. Oh lined up for this race. The headline attraction was obviously vassiliko who has been just a terror in california for the past couple of years for jerry hollander who was back as the list of trainer of her in this race and <hes> she went down to defeat. I think she was the odds on favourite in this spot. I know santa anita's really her home but she's well at del mar in the past to <hes>. She just didn't quite have that same punching. The lane that you had prior starts and bo recall <hes> who <hes> had been i think she started out in california. <hes> but brad cox brought her east and she had success at the fairgrounds of course on derby day and the distaff turf mile <hes> second second in the just a game on belmont day and she got another graded stakes here in the <hes> yellow ribbon pretty close finish though it didn't look like she was going to win when i i watched it the no yes. You definitely started her career. She's betrayed by simon. Callaghan metzer would happen that that she switched to brad cox's arm but you seem to have found a a new lease on life is. She talked about her many times on here. She won a big race on derby day. She came back run ran very well and belmont data run. A good second can an entry shipped out to california to take the <hes> the yellow ribbon which winston this used to be the one of the top races in the division. It's a little bit sad advocacy would it's it's now agreed to use to be just a huge race run much later in the year but you know it was a good effort at jerusalem shippers as a as you say not just over called but bowed isabel dick or valedictorian who we talked about many times here who's just a solid affiliates come basically he always runs the same race ran a good fourth in here so i had to watch just a few times i mean it was really an exciting race. I missed it as i was at saratoga that day but a good effort bill recall one twenty-one which is even a little bit better and she's been running or her last couple races us or the hill was right there and you know vessel week. Just always ran runs about the same race. You just face a little bit better horses on yeah. It's funny to talk about her trip. Because a lot of things things went right for her but some things also did go wrong coming around the far turn rate and van dyke was try to come through inside of a rival and she had to steady a little bit and basically she lost about a half half length or length of position at that point and also just consider the back that she's a horse that is one of these late runners and she was much closer to the pace than usual in this spot and and she's a horse that when she's run her best she's kind of gotten to the outside she winds up it makes one big late rush and she started had to stop and start a few times in this race and come through on the inside which is not something thanks usually does so. She thinks go right but she also things go wrong and i think she did well to get up in this race. I had to watch the finish a few times because she got quite a body. It was almost a possible see her nose. Get down to the wire because it really did on the first couple of viewing seem like storm the hill had stolen this on the front end but she just got her nose down on the wire liar. Just the right second am <unk>. I'd like to see her again with slavi imprint <hes> i i'm not saying enjoy lay..

"I mean he's got to fantastic racist for John and I, I think he's, he's absolutely the horse to be. I always always get surprised when I see John Scott, one in Turkey. Or somewhere else because hasn't been his MO to ship around the country. But, but he's, he's learning the ropes and he's doing a great job with it. So I think he's got a big chance king Zachary interests me because Graham motions taken over his training and going from Dale Romans born to Graham motions barn is a whole different kind of thing. So I think I think it's going to be interesting to see how he develops I might throw him on some tickets by curling. I think he he likes Churchill and in seeking the soul. He's a hard horse to leave off your ticket. I mean I just don't see how you wanna get by seeking the soul Churchill. It's not it doesn't fit well for me. So I might use all four of them on. I'm gonna make a box in here gift box. I think tenfold the blinkers have really helped tenfold. That race last time out was nice effort. Now that was special. Maybe he just wants some more ground. Maybe doesn't use him topics. It'd be Shida surprised by this love them last year. In the Woodward, I thought he ran the previous Cup. The do by race. You know, medium break that day and I, I don't hold it by race against anybody. He's been training Foley at Saratoga since I don't love his draw, but he's one of these horses that makes up a tunnel around. So I don't know if the draw really needs anything towards like he's going to be at the back and Nick, the one run, not to bring up a sore subject, but you've got Motte and Jose Ortiz in and outside. Yeah. Thank you. That's a first thing I thought of when I thought. Power. It was five years. Six seven twelve gift box tenfold and you sheet as the box sheet as the top pick, it goes race number eighth grade to Stephen foster. We'll take a break come back wrap up the side of the Saturday night. Coverage with regret and turn up attention to Father's Day..

"Downs at the back. American anthem is back in front half length lead with a half mile to go conquest NAMI give it enough to keep up with that one. And then it's king Zachary general down. So they round the fire. "Links and has not raced since oh, my boy, Jack as back here today, and he is part of an entry with general downs. And they are currently the two one second choice in the wagering. They favored. It is number six American anthem about Baffert trainee who is not race since July of last year when he finished six beaten only three links and the being Crosby has raced in a lot of graded stakes races. He won the Woody Stevens of Belmont last year, and has some other nice wins. The American anthem comes in here as seventy-five favorite. Another horse of note is king Zachary who won the Matt win here last July Churchill Downs. But his last race was pretty well beaten in the Pennsylvania derby, which is run last September. So you got horses coming back to action after some rather long layoffs. Getting ready to go here on day the entire field number one general downs with William Penn Mantell. He is writing a win win win in the derby is part of the inter with my boy, Jack, and they are at two to one Corey Landry is aboard my boy, Jack number two war giant as a thirteen to one. Tyler gaffes Leone is the writer there. Number three is conc. Sue nami. His odds are three three to one. Yes. Also, three to one on conquest salami who's trained by Peter Miller ridden by Joel Rosario and number four is king Zachary who was at five to two now, he has John Velazquez aboard. Thirst for life is number five of the longest pricier at fourteen to one thirst for life will be written by Miguel Meena and an American anthem is the sixty five favorite American anthem has written by IRA Ortiz with said, Bob Baffert training. So there's a field for this one as they come up to the gate. It is a one mile race at Churchill Downs. They have what they call the one turn mile because they run out of that long mile shoot. And it's it actually bends a little bit into the backstretch, but it's not a full fledged turn. So they won what they call the one one turn mile here at Churchill Downs. They're loading way up at the end of that mile shoot. We can get ahead on them. Travis stone up. The booth. We'll go to him as they finish up loading here for the second race today. The.

"I mean, I suppose you can look at an alternative with with Catholic boy, but you know, he's at the moment significantly slower than those top two. I'm not. We have a long way to go between now and the Breeders Cup Classic. But I'm just saying if the fringe contenders in those races in the awesome again and in the jockey club Gold Cup, they don't perform well reasonably well. This coming weekend. All the sudden classic is. Getting pretty narrow as far as the top concerned about horses the yet to look at it and say, boy, they just might just be that much better than everyone else. As far as the rest of the field is concerned core beliefs. If you are in the camp, believes the inside was not where you wanted to be at parks on Saturday. You wanna throw him in your horse watches. Well, because he was buried on the inside. He stayed on gamely at the end king Zachary sort of adult non effort from him proviso, disappointing effort. He was a little bit. I don't want a little, but he was much more forward than he is accustomed to being, but he started doing what he was doing in the Travers, going into the far term where Lewis I was all over them in the traverse. He started backing up, but then he rallied again on at the end. Unfortunately, we didn't get that rally at the end disappointing from him disappointing for Mr. freezes. Well, you gotta give Mr. for a little bit of. I don't want you can't give them a full mulligan, but he was spun about ten wide going into the first turn that's not ideal and instill regardless got awfully just never involved. And you just hope that everything is okay. This I start on the east coast Chad Brown long story short. MacKenzie. He's back better than ever one. Oh, seven buyer one twenty nine time former Wes rating. We'll find out if he goes to the classic. Some people will be interested in who knows? Maybe I'll revisit my you know this piece here in the recap and think about it a little bit more and it'll be a little bit more inclined to think that an additional eight of a mile won't be a problem. I still question how far he wants to go. And if you're looking for a horse that maybe not this year for the classic, but maybe as a four year old and give them some more time, maybe a horse like Axelrod. The runner up in this race, maybe he continues to improve from Michael McCarthy. This was a good effort from him to run. Second as well. McKinsey gets the job done in the grade one, Pennsylvania derby. It's going to Belmont Park for the great to Kelso. This is a one turn mile in. Historically, this has been been sort of defacto prep four race like the Breeders Cup mile. Now in certain years, it's more important and more pressing than others because we've had instances whether it's at Santa Anita or it's at Keeneland Oreta del mar that the Breeders Cup dirt mile is run. Going turns. This. Year though when the Breeders Cup is at an event or venue, rather like Churchill Downs where it's a one turn mile race at Kelso becomes that much more important perhaps could potentially have certain horses point to this race as their stepping stone. This year, the notable entrant was battle of midway for Jerry Holland door for coming to the east coast. They wanted that one turn race to get him ready for a prep and get ready for the Breeders Cup mile. Unfortunately, for them that few things go against them on this day on Saturday afternoon, here's the stretch run of this year's Kelso. Sunny ridge is gonna come. Why? Time-line cuts the corner there into the stretch, and it is pattern recognition, still there, battle of midway in a bit of traffic. They're not gonna get there today, but sunny ridge is in with a shot now and here comes sunny ridge on the outside trying to run down pattern recognition, these two done to the line, time-line. Third pattern, recognitions going to hold them all off and win Kelso pattern. Recognition gets the job done for. Chad Brown at odds of five to one followed up by sunny rigid, odds of five to one who runs second. Then odds of six to one. Now the Chad horse time line. He runs out your trifecta. Very juicy fact. If you played fifty cents comes back eighty two dollars. The favorite even money. Battle of midway is out of the money runs. Fifth, stick. Look at pattern recognition. He is four of ten lifetime nine times in the exact just under three hundred eighty thousand dollars in career..

"It's hard to beat them when they get the dream trip. Those to God. I kind of look at it and say yes and no, the the have the dream trip because they put themselves in that position and no one else did, but I will say with proviso, I was very. Foraged by this effort. Again, he came home in the second second, fastest final quarter, twenty five forty five. And on the far turn, there was a scenario or remote. I thought he was gonna last because we size scrubbing on scrubbing on him and he's just kind of fade into the back of the pack. But then he starts picking it up in between horses and he finishes very well. I have a funny feeling he sitting on a career best effort. Don't ask me why I don't really have any any sort of concrete proof of that other than the fact that I thought this is a very encouraging effort from him. I don't know if he's good enough to win a race at Pennsylvania derby, but he just shows up each and every time he's a very very honest horse, and it's hard not to root for an honest horse trained by someone like Wayne Lukas hard not to root for them. I think he's interesting and I will if they go to the Pennsylvania derby, I would seriously seriously consider him a major threat in there and you know what? He would be the kind of horse if they choose to go to a race, like the Breeders Cup Classic, which we still have a ways to go. I, I don't think he can win, but he is that kind of horse in a race like that forty to one. Could he run third or fourth? Absolutely. And perhaps that's the thing that makes your Breeders Cup weekend, and maybe that makes your entire weekend or even your entire year. If you hit the Tri factor, super factor using this horse underneath some of the logical ones and it comes back nice price. As far as the rest of the field is concerned, king Zachary a lot of people are impressed with him. I thought he did. He finished well and again, he came home faster than anyone else in that final quarter mile. I guess the reason I'm not more excited about a horse like that is because he has no early speed whatsoever. So in these races, you're gonna need an absolute pace meltdown. If he's gonna come with Dale Romans even said he goes, I don't know why he so far back early on in those races if he's coming from last and some of these big spots, I just I can't trust him as far as win contenders concerned vino Rosso continues to just be a little bit I, he runs in spots and I will not trust him. I said on in the preview addition, I'm saying now I won't trust him in any race that he shows up until he proves that he can put it all together and maybe he never will trigger warning. I wanna meant shorter distances said in the preview that I think he's talented. He didn't have the cleanest of trips in the spot. He was not on the inside and you had to wait a little bit between horses, but the distance, I don't think is his friend. I think he's a talented horse. I would like to see him going. Shorter distances tenfold just wasn't that good. I hate to say it, but again, I didn't like the Jim dandy coming into it, and I think that kind of was validated with the way those horses ran in this spot. We need to discuss the bottom three finishers who happened to be the three horses on the morning line anyway, that were the favorites. And I think rightfully so ultimately gronkowski. Good magic and wonder, dote gronkowski just slow out of the gate again. And then finally, once once Joel got into him and he kinda wanted to start going, he was kind of keen in an amongst horses didn't really work out and he just had nothing down the lane. Sounds like there's a possibility he runs in the jockey club Gold Cup, given his affinity for Belmont Park and some longer distances. Good magic was wide on the first turn that doesn't help as 'cause. But he just never really had any sort of IMF. It never never looked like a threat at any point in the race. He's better than this..

"And I was Winstar. It's a great team that that's been able to put together a ride like this. You know, from the time that we broke them on the farm, the horse, many of the teams hands and then got into Rudolph hand the Keeneland and he got him to Bob Baffert and obviously in one hundred eleven days from the time he broke his time, he a triple crown when it was numbly -able ride, hopefully we can get a chance to be on something even closely similar to that. But you know, to be around the horse like that, it's it's honestly wants to lifetime opportunity and a great opportunity that that Mr. trial and Elliott where we're able to allow everybody to be part of. So he felt in really well here since since he was retired, still had a little bit more of life. He's gonna find out about. Being breached dallying. So that's the coming in the next couple of months. But you know, we got tours here six days five, six days a week through horse country that that any fan can sign up for and have the opportunity to come out and see them. So we were, that's valuable. I believe it's like eleven thirty and one thirty, you know, five or six days a week. You can go to Horace country tours dot com and have paternity come out and him thown. So it was just remarkable ride that, you know everybody's going to have their stories about where they were winning won this race and that race. And so those are lifetime memories than I can say. I've been in in all three when foes gyp crown. That's great. Stop. I still think you know, Sean. I still think I should get extra credit for that. Good luck round bought you lot at Peter Luder the night before the Belmont. I still, I think that I think I think I might get sneak myself on one of those tours as as a thank you for that. I, I believe that you know, that door's always open for you when you're in Lexington. Excellent. Can't wait to get back out there. All right pipes. We're over time, but I do want. I know you are the king of the grand slam. I'm going to be playing whatever grand slam ticket you give out playing tomorrow. Who are we using in the ninth? Tenth eleventh, let's do it. And here we go. We're starting. We're starting with the Florida. We're gonna use wit more well, okay, he's good enough to win on. He always comes with his late wrong. Topi can pick up enough piece to hit the board in the Imia chore dancer Robinson, Sadler's joy think he's very logical. They hit the board on. Fortunately, he's probably gonna go favorites on, but I have to chalk out in that leg. And in the Travers, I'm gonna go three deep. Let's go gronkowski king Zachary and cap with boy. Hopefully we can get good matching or wonder, go off the board and will close it out with a raving beauty and Proctor's.

"So we're hoping the hoping he runs a big one. That's great insight into the way that you think about things on the breeding side of the business that Ben horse players. Wouldn't even necessarily occur to them that put your horse player had on. Sean where where you're outside of your, putting your horse aside, what is your view on this year's Travers? Well, I pure handicapping and then I have history to kind of go back on and and for me, I'm gonna try to be good magic here. It's, you know, over over the over the years, going from the hassles, Travers has been very difficult has to ask of horses, and it hasn't been always the the most positive move. So in that form, I'm going to try to beat the horse, which I think he he go off, you know, sixty five. I don't think goes off even money by any means, but we definitely be heavy favourite. I'm gonna draw lines, Jim dandy rates. I wasn't impressed by that race. The number came Hoffer the day before one hundred. One of the Jim. Danny came back around ninety four kind of blanket finish being Royal, came running late, which he likes to every once in a while. So that's not that's gonna try us as race to to use against. I keep falling on on about two horses, and I really think Philly's doing as good as any horse in the race. She's proven over the distance. She gets. Break leading jock on or bullet work last time out. I'm all over the Philly, but I'm also applies on king Zachary. He's a horse that I was at the met win, and it was like a wild performance like who was that in each showing a lot of town throughout string had a little bit of of unlucky races. I don't know if you saw during during the the post position, draw Romans attributed his Indiana derby to bleeding, so you'd never bled his life, but he blood in that race and that's why didn't run well and ever since he's gotten Saratoga, you can see that work pattern that cool air up there hasn't doing well. So if he can, you know, return to that Matt win performance. He's by curling out of giant's causeway you'll have every ability to get the distance. I think the pace and they're probably sets up well for him. So I'm gonna go wonder, Godot king Zachary and see my my rolling down the lane. I like it. I wanna touch base on a couple other horses in here just while we got some time..

"I just don't really think she's that good, especially some of the quality of the lines up in here on the race, seven, the grade one forego. I'm going to single here. You gotta try to find a single these multi-race bets and one of my favorite horses of this entire year. And I guess maybe last year if you wanna county simmer twenty, six in the race in the Malibu, and that's the city of light might McCarthy's one of the most under appreciated trainers in the country. I think that city lights drawn. Perfect. Tely outside. Yeah, there's some good horses in here. So we'll equality types limousine liberal win more Ceesay rocket, but city of lights. The perfect trip sitting right outside gets the meets leading rider in Iran Ortiz. I'm sure drain wants to stick out west and keep winning all the races out there. But I think the city of lights gonna be extremely tough going seven. He was dangerous in Malibu. He's won a couple of Rada one's already going seventy, try the mile and a quarter cutting back. I think this horse, it's going to be extremely dangerous. A tactical speed to go with that. I'm going to single city of light onto the third leg, the sword, dancer setup, spa. This is one of those races where I think previous the previous Jonathan kitchen would've singled savage, but I've learned the hard way that this is not single single. I made that up because he's just the the way that he runs his race. These coming from off the pace always seems to find trouble or run into pay situations. I am going to use him, but I'm also going to use the six bigger picture. It was closing into a slow pace last time in the bowling green and finishing well on solve. Round and channel maker who was also closing into that same ground and that same pay. Somebody use the six, the seven and ten. I'm gonna fade all the other one's gonna. Leave fun. Tastic glorious empire. Last time was the time and spring quality got the jump at side, the home side of this joy of Belmont. I don't really want that horse in this spot and I've been trying to beat high all all year. I'm going to try to that horse again onto the Travers spreading event for me. I'm gonna use the three gone cow ski off the big one at Belmont, workout reports of just this is doing really well. I'm going to use the seven king Zachary another one that's been working well, they'll Romans get these horses to try to come along throughout the summer. Ask American Farrow and key. Nice. I'm gonna use Mendelson gonna give it another shot. I'm going to respect Aidan O'Brien. The horsemen that he is that he put the source on the plane for a reason. I'm going to give them one more shot going mile and a quarter on a fast on fast ground. The one turn mile last time might have been a little too much for him. Let's you, he'll do a mile and a quarter. Good magic. Obviously the Haskell winter. Chad, Brown, talented, talented, an will. You can't leave him off in Catholic boy, the gritty gritty, gritty, horse of the bunch..

"It was a comfortable for start back since the Preakness. And I think he's going to be sitting another good trip this time behind trigger warning in the early stages of the Travers. I think there's a very good chance that could magic turns into the stretch of the Travers with the lead, and we'll see if his class determination can get them the mile and a quarter. He's the horse to beat and the deserving favourite. In the Travers. He's the deserving favourite. Nicole Russo takes a look at some intriguing longshots in the Travers in her pedigree, pick segment and Peter, Thomas four and tells got all the latest news and notes in the tournament world in his tournament talk segment. Let's go to them right now. Nicole Russo coming to you for out of the gate and this week, we'll take a look at the Travers stakes. Here's the field for the midsummer to review that historic fixture fixture, three year olds at surge, hoga clemmie the names in this field end there will be familiar to you as we analyze them and their potential to get the mile in quarter at length throughout the spring, of course, good magic Mendelssohn, both Kentucky Derby starters, Catholic boy briefly considered derby candidate before going back to turf where he's a grade one winner at mile and a quarter, even the Philly. The is for millions to you. If you wash star Kentucky oaks countdown to, we're going to take a look kind of the newcomers to the group who have emerged in the second season for the three year olds and their ability to get the distance star talking a little bit about the one who is already one at the distance Meister mind who broke his maiden going mile in quarter at Churchill Downs before finishing fifth at Saratoga. HOGAN a pretty salty allowance against older horses than included some stakes performers. The route ability wasn't a fluke for Meister mind. The Colt is by derby runner-up Bodey Meister who of course had derby winner always dreaming his first crop. He's a half brother to Kentucky Derby winner mind that bird into Dullah both grade one winners at a violent quarter. Now, trigger warning king Zachary both exit the Indian derby EC trigger warnings finishing a close second here with the king. Zachary further back now trigger warnings by chandy Reid who of course has gotten us long winded, Greg one winners like gun runner shared belief, female side, his great to place Dan, the full sister degreed winning juvenile j. piece gusto also closely related to Canadian champions Furner miss miss chip some real ability further back. But I do kind of question how far trigger warning wants to go in. If they'll tap out of these middle. Senses. Now, king Zachary is by kirwin of course also the of good magic as well as tenfold at vino Roseau in this traverse field. No surprise that he so wealth represented as he's a powerful source of stamina. King Zachary was fourth in the Indiana derby, but isn't greeted winner going mile in sixteen than I think he has the potential to continue stretching out. Thanks for tuning into out of the gate for complete coverage of the Travers stakes and also Saturdays supporting grade one event from Saratoga. Back with you on out of the gate. We're going to get to some tournament talk in a minute, but I had a little tangent. I wanted to share first and foremost folks, I'm sure are aware by now of the race a couple of weeks ago at Saratoga that was run at the wrong distance. I've done a little bit of research searching for storm precedent talking to players about possible solutions for this matter. And I have one that I just wanna give a little bit of oxygen to, but of bug in the ear, some of the folks out there listening, see if you don't agree with that. This might be a great way to handle it years ago at river downs. There was a race run where turned out that the wrong horse was in the race, not the one listed in the racing form and horse flare. "Run blame the writer who was pushing through all he did was run last gimme a minute who was very close to those top two he ran second to last and then you had another horse it was relatively close dark vader he ended up running fifth be in pretty comfortably three or four links this was a giant effort in my opinion for trigger warning the concern i have is the way that he's finished in a couple of these races he has that speed but i don't think additional distance is going to be his friend a mile and a sixteenth is really what you're looking at for a horse like this the question now becomes where do you run him because i don't think he is i don't think he's a saratoga kind of horse de await for the pennsylvania derby suppose you could do that but that's still kind of ways off do you do you think about i know it's a mile and an eighth and i would like him sort of at this mile in sixty this the think of race like the west virginia derby suppose that's possible as well i think trigger warning is interesting and i think he continues to improve he's a little bit sort of wonky with some of his mechanics but this is a horse that he i'm at least buying into him now whatever stock you're selling in him i think trigger warnings is interesting horse going forward these more middle distances title ready don't you reportedly whatsoever i think it's nice to see that he started to pick up some pieces and start to pass on the far turn it looked like he was gonna win for fun but again the concern for him becomes the running style because his best races today have been outright on the lead and come in from just off it i don't know that he's as active kings zachary was very goofy far as the mechanics are concerned and he wasn't like that at churchill downs most recently then also when you couple some of the results that we have now seen coming out of that matt win you have to look at it and be a little bit cernan so maybe that race was not nearly as good as it looked now he didn't take a giant step back where do you drop back to a nineties for speed figures concern but just again with the mechanics didn't look all that great he had really the race in his favor as far as the way that the flow of it was going coming from off the pace to me this was a minor step back where he's going to need to certainly improve in his next start and where that is i'm not sure he's kind of that i would like to see in a race like the west virginia derby and then if if you perform well there then you can go onto a race like the travers but until then i still think he's got some things iron out as far as the rest of the field is concerned i don't have a heck of a lot to add give me a minute in funny duck the better off going shoulder distances blame the writer to me is no question of better force than dirt horse took a shot here i'm not gonna blame them for that but otherwise i to me actual right he's a nice horse and i think he's he's on the improves no question about it to me though the horse that i would want out of this race was the runner up i think trigger warning is very interesting going forward and these more middle distance races but unfortunately he does not win this race the indiana derby the indiana derby title for twenty eighteen that goes to axelrod axelrod wins the derby with a ninety four biosphere back delaware park three year old dealing a mile and an eighth on the tour of course this is the field for the kent stakes grade three event you had eight signed on and here the heavy favorite was going to.
