"You boil the whole thing down into three actions. With alliteration, you knew and I like alliteration. We do, we do. Retire replace repeat. Yes, very nice. We just talked a little bit about retiring. So, you know, retiring your broken soundtracks. But what else do we need to talk about with retiring or broken soundtracks beyond the recognition of them, which we just sort of talk through one way to recognize them as to ask these three questions? Is there anything more you'd want to say on retire? I think it's always good to do it in community, too. I think a 100% self awareness is a myth. Yes. I think we stand so close to our own painting sometimes we can't really see what it is. And sometimes that's in the context, we've mentioned relationships. You're in a relationship, a dating relationship and you're so close to it. You can't really see what it is and you break up and then three months later you go, wow, I've got some distance that wasn't healthy. Why was I okay that they talked to me that way while I was okay, and you'll say to your friends, hey, why didn't you tell me? And often if they're good friends they'll go, we tried. We did, 'cause they had the distance. Yes. And so sometimes, you know, when you think about broken soundtracks, having a friend you trust. They go, hey, do you ever see me hold myself back from opportunity and a friend who knows you who actually you have a relationship with might be able to say, yeah, you know, I notice that when you get certain types of opportunities, you say no before you've even tried. And I think that people see something in you, you don't see in yourself. And I think that might be a broken soundtrack. And it might be that, you know, in college or maybe even high school, you had a teacher or a professor or parents say you're not a great leader. You're not a great natural leader, and so now you're getting all these leadership opportunities at your job, and as soon as you get to a certain level, you jump to another job because you don't, you know, I'm not a leader and a friend might go. The last three jobs you've had, you all jumped right at the time where they said, okay, we want you to manage people because we see something. I wonder if there's a soundtrack there. So sometimes a great way to work on the retire process is to have somebody who can reflect back to you what's going on. Yeah, I couldn't agree more. Discernment is a word that's used a lot in spiritual communities. But I think discernment half the battle is having people to help you discern. You know, we're not supposed to do it alone. Whether it's recovery, whether it's your faith, anything like we're not supposed to carry it alone. Yeah. I was just reflecting on something you may have heard of this before called Solomon's paradox. Solomon's paradox is named after king Solomon, who, you know, wise king Solomon, we all know how wise he was. Well, apparently not in his own life. So people would travel from around the world to see him to get his wisdom, but for himself, couldn't do it. And that's known as Solomon's paradox. We don't see ourselves. Yeah, it's so true. I mean, he had some very clear tenants and broke just about every one of them. Right, right. Yeah. So, okay, so three actions to change your thoughts retire our broken soundtrack. The next is to replace them with new ones. So let's talk about this process. Yeah, so this one really came from there's a lot of kind of mindset approach or overthinking approach that says stop it. Stop it. Stop over thinking. Stop thinking. And one, I think that's impossible. We're amazing thinking machines..

Welcome to five minute. Mondays where i share some encouragement motivation and honesty. In just five minutes. This week i'd like to talk about seasons in life. I've been reading. Sarah fell pots new book a growing season. It's a year of down on the farm devotions and it's really got me thinking about seasons in life and the fact that everything and everyone is only around for a season some seasons are longer some shorter sometimes we wonder why relationships and people die and things break but we must remember that the only relationship that never dies is the one with god. Sarah says she wrote her book for the reader but also for herself quote to help us both stay focused on god and to grow in him in quote. It's a great book one. I'm thoroughly enjoying reading. It's available now at her website. All american mom dot net and on amazon. I'll share in episode. Was sarah soon where we'll talk about. God's design the cycle of trusting sowing and reaping and keeping rooted in his desire for our life. I have experienced this cycle. And i bet you have to but we must trust that god knows our needs and fulfills them remaining faithful to all who love him and who keep his commandments. But still when we experienced loss are human ability to understand is limited. Loss often is unexpected and sometimes profound like when we lose a child to cancer or have an accident. That chained is our lives. Lost sometimes can be smaller but also impactful. I wrote a month ago about losing hope. After i thought i lost my phone which was on the top of my car and fell off. Well yesterday i learnt that that experience really was about seasons. I was driving home from school. And i heard the familiar thump. That i once heard before. I didn't stop immediately because it took me a few seconds to realize what that was. It was the sound of my phone leaving the car. I say leaving the car. Because i honestly don't know what happened. The last time was my fault. I left the phone on top of the car. Because i had too many things in my hand and i was trying to do too much but this time the phone was in my pocket well like before. I parked my car and got out to walk the road. I wasn't hopeless this time before and like before. God was faithful there. It was my phone in the middle of a busy road. Just as i spotted it. A car ran over the phone. I waited until the road was clear. Picked it up and turned it over. The phone was toast. The screen cracked and seemingly was dead. This was very different than how i found it. The last time. I lost it on the road on the long walk back to the car. I thought maybe god is trying to tell me something about this phone. Maybe the short season of this phone. I got it in. Twenty twenty was over. Funny though when i got in the car the phone sinked and if someone calls me i can hear over it but i can't call out or do anything with the phone because the screen is cracked as i said. This loss is small but somewhat profound. If you're like me your phone plays a very important role. In today's technology driven life work even bible study and devotions. But god reminded me that. It's not more important than him. And because he allowed me to find it again showed me that he still faithful ecclesiastes. These is the beautifully written verse. Many believe to be altered by king solomon if follows proverbs and gives advice and in chapter three. We learn about seasons for everything. There is a season and a time for every matter under heaven time to born and a time to die a time to plant and a time to pluck up what is planted a time to kill and a time to heal a time to break down and a time to build up a time to weep and a time to laugh a time to mourn and a time to dance a time to cast away stones and a time to gather stones together a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing a time to seek and a time to lose a time to keep and a time to cast away a time to tear and a time to so at time to keep silence and a time to speak a time to love and a time to hate a time for war and a time for peace. I pray we all learn that. Only god's love and faithfulness is eternal and that everything else is governed in seasons. You've been listening to positively joy. Thanks for spending some time with us. "They know toy to the biggest ticket. It's my mother's salvation. Because my mother is woman who kicked me out of the house when i wanna become a christian so that is the biggest item so when god asked me. What do you want for your birthday. I was thinking right where i was. Why we're thinking about that later. Somehow i was able to hold back then. I thought this is the only opportunity ever. I can't answer that question. I think so you times before. I open my mouth. My answer was okay. Lord these sound cheesy but eve you can give king solomon wisdom. I would lie that too also. I lie for my children as greater gift you can ask for was says that he has a very big grin on his face and he told me since you ask is granted. "Ninety percent. Everybody that gets into real estate is out of the business. Within a year. Ninety five percent are out within five years and some of them go bankrupt and broke now. That's not just just begin real estate. That's actually all businesses. I wanna say. Yeah it's cross the board. And i think it might even be higher because of the real estate cycle so again getting super clear i was. I'm a faith-based guy and king solomon said at the best. There's nothing new under the son. Don't reinvent the wheel. I always coaching. When i'm coaching somebody and we're helping somebody were like. Don't reinvent the wheel follow the best practice. There's nothing new in real. Estate is very simple game. And why i love real estate a physical asset and it has value to it right now you can actually go and look at it and very quickly you know. Oh this assets worth one hundred thousand right. Oh this asset you know and it has income potential. You know fifteen hundred a month unlike stocks right. Where there's you have you know somebody else's making it up and you know instead of it being worth one hundred thousand dollars that you could buy one hundred thousand or less it's one hundred thousand dollars value but they've marketed up thirty seven. What tesla tussles like their pe ratio is like three hundred right which means it's worth a hundred. It's worth one hundred dollars you know selling for like you know fifty million though again a gary. Yeah somebody tried to convince me the other day that p ratios don't matter anymore. So so you should stop worried about that and i said wait a minute. So the price of something pertz earnings. That's just basic economics. How can you tell me that's not. I mean for real estate the price of a part of the what you bring for the rent. The earnings that means something so People have gotten all out of whack and they believe their own Blue do i was gonna say something else. But i think dudes are good on well not only that real estate. Let's talk about real estate. 'cause i'm in agreement everybody's like oh this is the new normal right. Pe ratios don't matter no. Actually history is a great predictor to the future so on the real estate side real estate is been a seven year cycle.

How Do I Know If I Want Kids?

"When you think about the question about whether you want to become a parent what comes up that is the mighty anna sale host of the podcast death sex and money and author of the new book. Let's talk about hard things and this week. I'm both death sex and money and the cut. We've each made different versions of this story. Exploring the lucky lucky privileged decision about whether or not to have kits because there are environmental reasons not to have kids and financial and logistical reasons. Not to have kids. But i really want to talk with anna about ambition because anna i have released similar jobs podcast host but she has two kids and manages to make creative work at the same time. Well i am entirely on the fence. I truly have no idea if. I wanna have kids or not. Is there part of you as someone who likes self identifies really deeply as an artist. Is there part of you that worries that you will be a less interesting artist. If all of a sudden you're an artist and the mom instead of just being an artist god get your foot off my neck. And that's it you got it but the that That's totally the fear. I don't know if i have any to identify as an artist. But yeah like when. I think about my models for motherhood. I think of like yoko ono in vivienne westwood and i don't think they were like the best moms because they were bouncing a lot of other things and yeah. Yeah yeah i think it. I worry that it might mean sort of King solomon style splitting the baby and not being very good at either art or motherhood

The Legend of Asmodeus

"And magic. Don't play a major role in the official christian bible but that wasn't always the case. Tales of enslaved demons and spells. Were quite popular in the apocrypha works. That didn't make the cut for the mainstream religion. We know today one of these texts the book of toby it chronicles of fearsome and powerful demon named as modena's. His legend goes back three thousand years to ancient iran. They're the name as modena's is thought to originate from a vest in the language. Used to write the sacred book. Zoroastrianism specifically scholars have traced asthma diaz back to the invest in phrase ace mma davida which roughly translates to demon of wrath. Legend has it that he held a high position in the underworld and was often described as the king or prince of demons. Born of an unholy union between demon and a human woman as medina's was a shape shifter able to materialize out of thin air and take on any humans appearance but in his true form his demons wings were said to stretch from the earth all the way to the heavens however regardless of what shape he took at least one foot always had the gnarled talons of a rooster despite his domain over rage. wrath as medina's was hyper focused on one thing ruining marriages. The king of demons was a home wrecker in the testament of solomon as medina's tells king. Solomon my business is to plot against the newly wedded and god forbid you become the object of his lust because once asthma diaz is obsession begins only heaven. Strongest magic can defeat him.

Joe Biden speaks to Saudi Arabia's King Salman

"The us president. Joe biden has spoken by phone with king salman of saudi arabia as the white house resets. The relationship between washington and riyadh ties between the two countries have become significantly closer during donald trump's time in office but this has been further complicated by matters following the murder of the journalist. Jamal khashoggi a us report due to be released shortly is expected to implicate the king's son crown prince mohammed bin salman offer more. I'm joined by bill. Law a middle east analyst and editor of arab digest and a regular voice on twenty. Good morning bill your morning. Let's examine straight away. What do we know that was in this. Coal between the us president the saudi king issues that perhaps saudi doesn't really want to talk about. What actually what's interesting about. The call is that the president touched on three issues. One was human rights. Any specifically single Jane elliott loon. The women's rights activist. Who has been released from prison but still has a severe restrictions on her The second is warned. Yemeni americans have made clear that they want this war to end and the third was security reassuring king solomon that america has saudi arabia's back. And of course that is important particularly given the situation with iran and mr biden's desire to return to the jcp away and interestingly as well his secretary of state tony blinken conversation with his counterpart flies. Open fought hand the saudi foreign secretary. He said pretty much the same thing. He didn't mention the. Jane elliott little but he talked about human rights. He talked about yemen and he talked about security. So the question is is these attempts to reassure as well as depress on the fronts. That biden wants action on or is this basically setting things up for this report that will be released and appears to be naming. The king's son magas oman instrumental in the killing of dramatic hollywood v. a everyone waits and most of all i think the saudis holding that brett i think that The in of the relationship between the united states in saudi arabia look. Saudi arabia is a key ally in the middle east for america. I don't know that biden wants to push very very hard in terms of doing down. How hotline as as some have suggested. I do think he wants to see some serious behavioral changes and he's using the issue of human rights as a way of achieving net.

"As you follow. The. You know though polygamy late, not laws but I would say like just the. Agreements meaning everyone's on board everyone is in agreement. Everyone is in a positive about the situation as long as we all contributed a relationship that the the all of our own situations and things like that. So actually considered it I find it polygamy not abiding his everyone is just in the no I don't have a problem with it. I mean. Plays basically layup fourth wife I get it. But I would I would. But if that's but I was coming into a situation a structured and it's already like established and is like it's working like I get that. But if you just out here, just trying to. Say we'll I. disliked plenty woman. Really and calling it pulling polygamy trash. But it's not polygamy. Dan in it is doctor wouldn't be it. Right, so there's also book that I'm reading, which is funny that you said laughed so hard Sista Souljah really good right. It is actually the third installment in a trilogy is a fictional story but in the book in the trilogy, There's a character that was total of the book though will this one is called Sista Souljah a moment of silence as part of the midnight gangster. `gangstas love story trilogy sound. Basic but it's not of silence but it's actually very brady. The character is just so set in and and so structured in his delivery and the way that he goes about getting these wives didn't the story is not about him getting wives he just happens to get these because he needs some bad. So really really good women along the way and he makes them as is and he was just so appalled about how Americans go about Sharon men. In his fight and carrying on between us as men and honorable and as a yeah, you right. You know as long as you talk about things and you're if you're an honorable mine. And you pick honorable women and you all treat each other respect or he all of us are respect. First of all, I could see it working. I could see record and but of course, that's fiction so. Yeah. So I mean I. Don't think I have a problem with polygamy if correctly. That's all. I was. Ask. I never had a road to begin with. From sense I heard about King Solomon. I would love down for. Howard's twisted today on the other hand based on society religion. The list goes on I am not a fan of that era part of the wrong society to call the culture to our culture doesn't is not conducive for polygamy. contradictive does what I'm here here does what I'm getting cast contradictive. It's. where it originated, it doesn't contradict a Dang thing. Okay. That's what I'm saying you know so. In that regard. I'm for is saying wants respected Lake promise them one of my brothers in Canada. he wants upon the he wants a relationship and sodas his wife and. She spoke with someone and then let them know off the revenue been up and down this road because they both express how bad they want this and they met that's polydor though, yes, which is different. Yes. They express how they want to. You know I met a couple of too I got stories man. But yeah, they express how they wanted multiple amount of people and what not right and then one particular female and she legit just wanted sex didn't want growth. She didn't long rich person for both of them she wanna both. She's wanting to play exactly right and not. For it. Okay. Not of them don't. In a relationship especially, the wife the wife. Let let let off the rip. Yeah what. We're not about that. They're not. They're not into playing around they a girlfriend, but she wants to play. Basically the experience of Pleasure Self Leisure you know what I mental so they're like. No and you make people like us lob this belief system about what we believe in you make it. By so what you need to do, go check yourself again before he wrecks oath and what you trying to get our people who speak this way that we do. You're never going to get them. and. She was abruptly dismissed I understand both parties because I know a few couples that are they don't mind the little play around play thing played you know. So I was as long as you know where you stand girl and we good you know we never leave each other and you're going on We're who that there's some people are it that You know couple one nights with someone. That's fine. But But some people like you said are not playthings they don't want. They don't want. They don't it but they're not play things. They are they want relationships and that's kind of beautiful. It's kind of Cool I. think everything is cool as long as everyone talks about it. So, when you when we when when when you bring me to your house and you house actually mean and then you tell me your fiance okay that we have a problem. Yeah I. Forgot to mention that we have a wife and she wants up substitute I'm GonNa Punch you in the throat Bra. She's hot. So So. It's funny that you mention King Solomon. Actually many religions. Practiced. Polygamy on his send the by woolen. Toro Chloride I think it is. Yeah. The Koran where polygamy as practice. Is talked about what the Western world, right? It's a legal and criminalized. Frowned upon its country. Though that does does does my coin? I don't I don't like. You can't just take one piece of religion and forget that it'd be death. That's my problem with it. Which pilots argument is I'm talking about the fact that we could talk about King David, we'll be mentioned the fact that he sent a mind to go to war you wanted to smash his wife or the fight that saw multiple wives. Stinking ex after he got his like, my boy just went all the we love. The part we don't like to talk about in the western part of the world. So more meanwhile, these have plenty of lives they all do. They just don't talk about it, which is why we get to scrapping in the streets. So, that's maybe for the whole. Western side in that regard my body. Up Your. Sorry. Guys do it teaches and women about it? Like I know he got away over there. We all know this these these multiple fabled to this one, and no went openly talking about it. So in our culture with. The guy that you know. How would it be if the? How would he feel if he was wanted husbands? What.

Saudi King Is Said to Have Successful Gallbladder Surgery

"Moving onto Saudi Arabia. King Salman is spending some time in the hospital there this week Saudi state media report he had surgery to remove his gallbladder, and it was successful nothing life threatening, but whenever an eighty four year old national leader is hospitalized for whatever reason it raises questions for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Those questions about what a possible succession might look like the World Sharon Jafari reports the modern day kingdom of Saudi. Arabia was founded in one, thousand, nine, hundred, thirty, two, and since. Since, then it's been ruled by the same royal family succession has mostly gone from father to son or brother to brother eighty four year old King Solomon took over from his brother into fifteen. Joseph Russell was the US ambassador to Saudi Arabia back then. Oh, yes, I got to know him very while this describes Kim Samoan as educated Matt. It says the king loves to read to his grandchildren so whenever he went back to New York while says he would buy books as gifts for some on. In the old culture of Saudi culture books never had pictures. That's because the ultra conservatives in the kingdom considered images to be un-islamic, so made sure I brought books a lot pictures. One time was false, as he brought by another bound copy of one thousand and One Nights, a collection of middle. Eastern folktales, and the king loved it. At the opportunity to work with online, I grew very fond of him, but while Kingston Mon- might be the most powerful official in Saudi Arabia. It's his son. Crown Prince Mohammad Bin, Salman who runs the kingdom on a day to day basis. NBS known is next in line to the throne. Nowadays, the process of succession is overseen by a special group of authorities yes-men. Faruk is with Carnegie in. For International, peace in Washington, the previous king had established what they call the allegiance council, which is basically a counseled from the surviving sons of the funder for NPS to become kings. She says this council would initiate a process for members of the royal family to pledge allegiance to the new king, but right now there's a problem. The Allegiance Council doesn't have had the last one died, and I think the position has been vacant for over two years now and one member at least of the allegiance council is under arrest Prince Amit faulk says NBA has been controversial figure since they want his made it his mission to consolidate power and supply line any potential competitor. Nabil Nura an expert on Gulf affairs says MP's has arrested an intimidate viable members of the royal family also rounded up hundreds of businessmen and activists. He was to show that he is the guy for the position, and he wants to make sure that there are no challenges in his way to the throne occupied. Was it all after. that. The king went to the hospital state TV showed him holding a cabinet meeting from there. That's to show that the king is alive and well, and still in charge, but nobody says it's an open secret that MBA's is actively pushing to become king while his father is still around. Why well a number of things one of them is related to the US actually Hamad bin. Salman wants to make sure that he ascends the throne while president. Trump is personally that states trump has been supportive of the crown. Prince says it's not clear if joe. Biden would do the same besides the American election does also the G. Twenty summit in November. It could be a critical moment for MBA's to show that he is in charge. And some people from the Royal Family might not be happy with Hamad bin Salman, being king, so hammered. This might ascend the throne while his father is still alive to make sure that everything goes smoothly. So where does all this leave the US? Saudi relations Yes menfolk says NBA is a controversial figure in Washington DC. She says it's not internal policies that have raised eyebrows NBA has has been the war in Yemen and according to the CIA or did. Did the kidding of Washington Post columnist Jamal and unfortunately like many things inside Washington there is polarization and the debate is very much politicized, but let me tell you that the concern, the uncertainty about the rule of Mohammad Bin, Salman is certainly bipartisan. People differ on what to do about it, folks. Some things have not changed Saudi Arabia remains a key player in the global oil market and president. Wisconsin Supreme Court strikes down Wisconsin's stay-at-home order that closed businesses to limit spread of coronavirus

"A piece of audio from a state Supreme Court justice this was from esquire magazine in discussing the governor's order to stay at home the assistant Attorney General Colin Ross appeared to be rethinking his career choice Bradley the Supreme Court justice went full on Glenn Beck never go full on Glenn back this is what the press called full on Glenn back listen to this judge my question for you is where in the constitution to the people of Wisconsin confer a sorority on the singles on elected cabinet secretary to compel almost six million people to stay at home and close their businesses and face imprisonment if they don't comply with no input from the legislature without the consent of the people isn't it the very definition of tyranny for one person to order people to be imprisoned for going to work among other ordinarily lawful activities where does the constitution say that's permissible council one of the bravest guys and the guy who appointed her to the Supreme Court successful governor economic education healthcare reformer Scott Walker joins us now governor how are you Sir Eglin even better today because of the Supreme Court yesterday sure okay so the Supreme Court yesterday in Wisconsin struck down the stay at home order what does that mean well there was no stay so it means technically anyone anywhere in the state of Wisconsin could be opened the one caveat to that is welcome to the home rule states so there are still the ability of local jurisdiction so a handful of communities city Milwaukee city of R. we're seeing a Dane county or state capitals at all very Liberal Democrat areas there governor should be there mayors and or account executives issued similar orders to what the governor's administration will done but for everybody else it means technically any retail establishment or whatever's open last night around the state there are other places out there although and I heard the tail end of year your last segment in the end the governor I've said for weeks the government can get out of the way but ultimately the market will determine when businesses reopen when employees feel safe to come back in when the when customers ultimately come back as well but it the first step is getting the government out of the way so Z. the get the new governor the guy who I think replaced you it had issued the stay at home order he said yesterday last night on CNN this puts our state in the chaos now we have no plan no protections for the people when you have more people in a small space I don't care if it's bars restaurants or the home you're going to be able to spread the virus today thanks to the Republican legislators convinced for Supreme Court justices not to look at the law but look at their political careers I guess it's a bad day for Wisconsin because now it's the wild west commented when it's it's like it's like they've suspended common sense not only in his statement but not others across the country we see this over and over again we've been operating for nearly two months now with the threat of this coronavirus in every time anyone goes in a grocery store every time someone goes into a pharmacy every time someone goes to the hardware store every time someone shows up in a in a manufacturing plant that is deemed essential by the government they've been able to do that overwhelmingly across the country safely so to me it just defies common sense that now certainly since the so called nonessential businesses can open finally because those justices actually upheld the law they did exactly opposite what he said they actually upheld the law now does that mean the people who've been operating safe we're certainly going to go crazy and and not use the same watching the done before of course not you know here here's here's the thing first of all I think you guys had the election when every but when nobody knew what was gonna happen and with that it shows that no there was no spread to from you guys holding L. holding the election which quite honestly at the time I would have found surprising but there was no problem for holding the election yeah I guess the the governor didn't learn his lesson from that one and when did we go from a let's not overwhelm the system let's not overwhelm hospitals and doctors and the nurses let's flatten the curve to nobody's going out until everybody is safe yeah it it's it's the flat occur versus now we have to find a cure before anyone can set foot out there the logic I went back and looked two months ago yesterday I wrote a piece on Facebook about how we need to be rational we needed to follow the guidelines we probably shouldn't have Dick's sporting events or concerts for awhile so we could figure this out but that we could do these things without shutting down the economy we just had to use our common sense we had to be purposeful interactions to make sure we're safe the same is true today over two months we flatten the curve but do you still have government officials whose immediately seem like they're hiding under their beds open a guide somehow this will just go away it's not going away it's not going to change anytime soon and if we don't win this year register Connie devastate but think of all the people across America who missed out on doctor's visits in clinics and other checkups who missed out on early detection I mean this is literally a life threatening issue even when it comes to re opening the economy so governor do you really believe that these people are hiding under their beds or is there something else involved I mean there is we have to balance things and that is what a leader does he gets advice from the FAO cheese and they save Valjean just tell me about the health effects and then somebody else has to advise is didn't tell me just about the economic effects and then I have to make choices as a leader on what we do we are now looking at a group of people in Washington and it seems to be falling on party lines that they for some reason we just don't want to open the economy and no one is talking about the deadly effects of America going down the drain or going into a deep depression not only the affects financially but the effects of health and welfare all over the globe millions could die because we go down it even amazing the group that are not aligned with that don't normally reference but even a United Nations report recently just this week showed that grave concerns about massive I mean we're talking crippling poverty around the world because of the economic effects here in their point was that this will actually have a much larger devastating impact on the Taliban casualties because of malnutrition because of the depression because of suicide because of all sorts of issues I think it's a combination of summer parade and some have an agenda when I look at Nancy Pelosi's and we could talk all day about her ridiculous three trillion dollar bill that's out there but one of the things I think's been ignored about what you did put out this week is they've got a provision that would extend the federal unemployment enhanced benefits till January one that tells me Democrats believe our whole some have an agenda that they want the economy not to open until after the start of the year which conveniently happens to be after the presidential election I I got to say if you're an American not a Republican not a Democrat now to conserve not a liberal but Americans that should scare the crap idea we should be doing something about it so do you think that the American people are I mean I think that my father used to say there is no such thing as bad it doesn't it nothing is bad it's depends on how you react to it that will make it a bad thing in your life for good thing you can go to prison for robbing a bank that's not bad that is something that you could use now to reforge yourself and and become better the corona virus I think has helped a lot of people get perspective on their life it is showing us that we need family and shows us that you know this arguing back and forth with the politics is really the Washington doesn't have the power we have the power we could use this to wake up on the bill of rights etcetera etcetera or we will allow it to destroy us do you think the American people are waking up on both sides of the aisle and saying wait a minute wait a minute these essential bill of rights liberties are really important I I do have some more slowly than others but but I do think they're waking up yesterday's ruling in the Wisconsin Supreme Court was a good step in the right direction because as I said after the ruling came out you know though okay holding the rule of law is important even in an emergency it's an important event and I'm optimistic it as frustrated as I am as as challenging as times are I think about American particular country that started out in defeating the greatest military power at the time who overcame a civil war that would have torn apart just to any other country in the world you ever came to me two world wars took on nine eleven were Americans and were country based on freedom and as long as we cherish those freedoms and liberties even in times like this I have no doubt we can overcome anything the part of that means of free will and the ability to engage in free enterprise that's something that I think it's fundamentally a part of who we are it's what king Solomon talked about finding joy in your labor I often say nobody signed by my high school yearbook saying good luck becoming it depend on the government we all no matter who we can where we come from what we look like we all in our hearts we want to work we want to find join our labor we need to get the government on lease and get it out of the way so that we can go back to work and and restore

Islamic Folklore The Ant Prays For Rain

"Once there was a big famine in Palestine it was during the time of the Prophet Prophet. Sulaiman King Solomon. He came out with his people and proceeded to an open place in the desert to pray for the rains to come. Suddenly he saw an and standing on. Its two legs raising. Its hands up towards the sky and saying oh Allah we are but very small among all the creatures we cannot survive without die. Grace please bestow upon US sustenance and do not punish us because of the sins of human beings please send down the reins so that trees can grow farms become green in grains become available and we have our food to eat prophet. Sulaiman knew the language of all animals. He told his people let us go home. The prayer of this end is enough. It then rain too heavily in all the land became green and productive. The end is an intelligent creature. Warm days it collects and stores grain inside the hulls. It knows that during wet and cold months it would not be able to go out to search for food for fear that grain may start growing because of wetness it splits it into two or more pieces at times during Moonlit nights it brings the split grains out of the stores for drying and preservation against decay. The holes under the ground are made very carefully and covered with shelter to prevent the rain water from getting inside the holes the end unlike the other animals can lift a burden twice. Its own weight. It is not a selfish creature. When aunt finds some store of food grains it runs up to its group takes its fellow ants to that place. It shows everyone of them. Its own find of this door. The always behave in this manner. They work in live in cooperation with each other. This shows how the aunt works for the group and how each of them fulfills the needs in livelihood of its fellow beings how shameful it is for a man who has no regard for another man who has no concern for his fellow human beings who could be starving because of want of food. Once while Prophet Sulaiman was traveling together with hosts of men. Gin and birds. They reached valley events. When the chief of these ants witnessed the pomp and the glory with which Prophet Sulaiman and his companions were approaching toward it. He warned all the answers to get into their holes lest they got trampled and crushed unknowingly by the approaching men and Jinn Prophet. Sulaiman smiled at. This warning sounded by the ants chief and ordered his companions to wait till the aunts went inside their holes. None of us should hurt any aunt while passing over their land. He said it said that Prophet Sulaiman addressed the chief of the aunts. And Said How could my people hurt you or your fellow ants when they are floating through air? Don't you know that I am a messenger of God and would never act unfairly? The chief of the ants replied o Messenger of God my cautioning. The ants was not for any hurt that they would suffer but to prevent them getting stray and forgetting the glory of God after seeing year pomp. And show there is a deep meaning. In this event it shows that even the most humble and smallest of creatures has been endowed with the necessary wisdom to live safely and avoid being hurt as far as possible. It also shows how even a small end does have the natural understanding of the true position of Allah. It imparts a lesson. That one should not forget the true might and glory of Allah when one experiences a great power and dignity of any creature in this world thus an aunt is one of the most wonderful small creatures in this World Surinam L. The end in the holy current is a chapter named after this creature over one thousand three hundred years ago. Imam Ali was giving a sermon in Kufa. In which he was describing the beauties of creation in various forms of life he was referring to small creatures in asking men to study. How God made them so small yet so sturdy strong he described the end in these words. Look at an end. How tiny is its body? And how delicate features it is such a small creature that it often escapes the eye and few people care to attach any importance to it. Among the living beings found on this earth. Look at it and study its ways of life how it crawls how it attacks its food how it lifts a grain so many times heavier than its body carries it to its whole how it stores grains and how in summer it gathers in stocks food for

Saudi Arabia’s crown prince, backed by the king, moves for absolute power

"It is easy to forget that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz. Al Sowed is not actually technically ruler of Saudi Arabia. That title belongs formerly to his elderly Father King Salman however since his appointment as crown prince in two thousand seventeen. It has been widely understood that. Nbs often known is the heir designate. Power behind the throne and at the age of thirty four very much the future of Saudi Arabia in this unofficial role mb has furnished considerable cause for concern he has overseen a terrible onslaught against Yemen and a blockade of Qatar. Neither of which appear to have accomplished much. He has interred dozens of his fellow royalty. For a time in a Ritz hotel and more or less kidnapped the prime minister of Lebanon perhaps most infamously. Nbs is widely supposed responsible for the murder of Washington. Post columnist. Jamal Khashoggi even by those standards. This week's palace intrigue in Riyadh is remarkable. Several members of the court appear to have been arrested at MBA's instruction including one of his uncles and one of his cousins dozens more army officers and civil servants are also reported to have been rounded up east this NBA swatting a coup. D'etat conducting one of his own. If he does manage to reach the throne when King Solomon's time comes. What does he want to do with it and is in BS? Perhaps not quite the Mariah Carey loving modernizer. He would have us believe. This is the foreign desk when you bring in Mariah Carey and all these singers and pay them views amount of money but you do not have an any universities anyplace to learn music. There is no department in any Saudi university to learn. Play ride to a drama making this these other forms that you should look for. And whether this massive youth constituency what she has to some extent manage to bring behind him is still behind him in five years time because young people need to get jobs. They need to be able to get married. They can't subsistence promises forever. So I think Basch is going to be the key determinant his credibility rather than some of the things that I looked with more interested in the book. We must remember that. Donald Trump has given unequivocal support. D'amato Vince on who is heavily implicated in the killing of the journalist. Jamal Hasha he. Trump has had his back on that one and I think as as long as trump remains in power that this relationship will continue quite strongly. You're listening to the foreign desk. I'm Andrew Miller on today show. I'm joined by Ali Al Ahmed and Laura James Ali. Ahmed is a Saudi Scala. The Institute for Gulf Affairs joins us from Washington DC. Laura James is senior Middle East analyst at the Global Advisory Firm Oxford Analytica Ali. Al Start with you and I'll start with well it's not always an easy question to answer with Saudi Arabia's concerned which is the the pretty basic one of as far as we know what has been going on this week Mohammed bin Salman the heir apparent of King. Solomon who has a lot of political ambitions obviously has members of the ruling family who are his rivals and they do not want to see him become king if they would like to see him ousted some just by talking and some by plotting so what has happened is Hamad discernment is extremely insecure about that and he took measures to stop any attempt to remove him. We have two groups here those who are talking and then the sort of speaking ill of Like his uncle Ahmad but Abdelaziz who who thinks that he has better in terms of becoming king and you have his cousin especially the younger ones who rallied around the his main rival. Hamad bin naive to try to dislodge him for power by by force even and that is why we have seen these steps of arrest and monitoring hundreds of members on family who are eyeing the throne Laura to bring you in his they one fundamental thing looking behind this extraordinary shakespeare in intrigue. Is it a reasonable assumption that MBBS is trying to nail down his future in anticipation that King Mohammed who is eighty four years old and not in good health? Con- last forever. I think he's done really since he became Crown Princeton before has been based on that assumption. It's been about shoring up his position within the family and I think if when his father succeeded nobody would have predicted that he could have done it. This effectively. He is essentially unchallenged. Do we understand. If the differences between the rival factions are actually political or is this basically a more atavistic. Instinctual family feud. I'm not sure that you can draw the distinction very clearly in Saudi Arabia between family in politics the two very much Banda with each other. I would say one difference between Mohammed bin Salman. His rivals is that he thinks that the anyway food. Saudi Arabia is essentially for one person to be in clear charging for that person to him whereas some of the people who oppose him wants to get back to a more consensual style family managed rule and Schering of resources and consensus in enslave change whereas if a political as well family reasons bin Salman says no that model work for Saudi Arabia. Dunga all these possible to be clear on rich factions of the house of sowed supporting. Nbs this point. Does he actually have the numbers? I think? So the most important in Saudi government and the ruling. Saudi Arabia is not even the ruling family anymore. It was about power previously. The model like Laura speaking about the there were centers of power at King. Abdullah had the national guard was his own militia guns so he can force his His agenda and his position and so on the delayed crown prince was also minister of defense so he had the army under his control so he can push his agenda and most importantly then the ministry of the interior with late conference knife had the interior ministry. Which has the largest number of security personnel and across the country and so he can use that to push himself to the throne in all of these people reach the throne. Some some did some died before they they got to to become king now all of these powers the Army National Guard and the Interior Ministry has been gutted and removed. Everything that's powerful about. It has been moved to something called the State Security Agency and the control of bin Salman so our bin Salman controls all the military and security apparatus in the country. So who is his real challenge? No one they can speak. They can talk about. They cannot do very much. There are members of the family who want to see him out. This is not strange to the Saudi ruling family King Faysal was shot and killed by his own nephew. King Salad was overthrown by his brothers. And also there was an assassination attempt on his life after he was deposed and expelled. This is nothing new in the history of the family so I expect to see some harsh measures against some of those younger princess like Nawaf bin Ni- F- Who was arrested and Mohammed bin? Naif who is basically the boss the boss of this of this of these people because he has the best chance in rivaling Ahmed bin Salman let us remember. It was the Obama Administration C. i. a. A and Obama who brought Hamad Knife as the future king and gave him a lot of accolades And supported him and tell trump came and push 'em B. S. INSTEAD AND MR. I'm mad but was pushed out and he still. Mr Benign has a lot of support in Washington in day democratic side. So that was the fear that MBBS had Laura how much might MB S.'s? Stature in court or credibility in the court of being damaged by his own somewhat petulant impulsive behavior over the years whether that's launching this war in Yemen his involvement? In the murder of Jamal Khashoggi would there be a concern in the rest of the court that he might be quite the loose cannon concerns among some parts of the ruling family and very strong concerns internationally. I think there are two distinct issues. One is about foreign policy mistakes. And as you've said in terms of Yemen in terms of Qatar in terms of the confrontation with Iran and particularly in Lebanon. It seemed that. His foreign policy initiatives haven't worked very well. I think within the country that's less important like the Ritz Carlton and this latest. Crackdown are actually less important than the nuts and bolts of vision twenty thirty which is his transformation plan so Mohammed bin Salman has stepped forward and said we know we need to change. The oil is going to run out. We've got to move into a new era. Diversify the economy. Be ready for this. Get Jokes Young People Change Society? I need a huge amounts woods that intensive transforming the way in which Saudi Arabia

"This grim ours are in reference to the tale of King Solomon and his magic magic ring a tale which was believed to have originated around the twelfth century in the story a ring ring with a special seal engraved on it was bestowed upon. Solomon I god itself. The story goes that Solomon took notice one day of how Pale and gaunt the younger son of his masterworks men looked so thinking that perhaps it was an issue with pay Solomon increase their wages yet. The king was sad to see that the young man's condition continued to deteriorate after some weeks. Thanks of watching this youth become thinner and more ragged a king decided to approach the youth and ask him about his apparent jerod ailment when kindly King Stop the youth and asked him what ailed him so so the young man broke down in tears and told Solomon about the torture he'd been enduring. It told the King that a demon had attached itself to him and for months it had been tormenting him I- stealing from him half of his wages and half of his food horrified by what he had heard the king felt deeply league for this pitiful ragged looking youth and he decided to pray to God asking for remedy for this poor youth situation Russian. He begged God firm means to be able to help the youth and put it into his suffering in response response. god-gifted Solomon with a ring which had engraved upon it a sacred seal of a hassle. Graham now with this ring Solomon was granted the ability to communicate with and control demons demons using his new magical ring Solomon was able to free the the youth of his demonic tormentor and by questioning the demon Solomon was able to not only learn its name name he was also able to learn about demons themselves and how they operated he learned Evil Demon had certain afflictions than they could present in those they tormented and he even learned ways in in which these afflictions could be countered armed with this knowledge Solomon soon gained the ability to influence demons and have them do his bidding. Came up with a clever plan that would allow him to be able to ensure that these demons that he had gathered would remain under his control and thus unable to harm another living person.

We we have the highest rates of any what we call civilized or highly educated countries. We actually fall back in very much. I think that there's a quote that Benjamin Franklin said and some people attributed to actually King Solomon have said it. It says that justice will only be served when those who are not impacted are as outraged as those who are so to me addressing abuse needs the outrage of people who are not impacted by I think they. That's the missing voice that's needed to truly have a a zero tolerance mindset when it comes to abuse i. I think it's long overdue. I think there are a lot of people who are ready. Eddie I unfortunately I feel like there's a lot of people who are decision makers in society and in churches who who don't see this as as big problem as it is and until we do Things are going to continue Because in order to truly change this it has to start from the top. "But mention of King Solomon also occurs in holy books of the Baha'i. And also in the Koran according to these legends. These stories, the man noon is King Solomon was the son of the famous Goliath slaying, David who went on Solomon did went on to become the ruler of Israel, and approximately nine sixty seven BC, and she was ruling this enormous kingdom that extended from the Euphrates in the north to Egypt in the south and in the religious text. He is presented as one of the wisest man in the history of civilization. He's kind of, and this is not a one to one comparison religious scholars in the audience. He's kind of Tony stark. He's a genius inventor. He's ladies man, a super-rich super rich, exactly and potentially practice. The dark arts and God appeared to him in a dream during the early days of his of his reign. And she said Solomon, you can have whatever you desire, because you act you know, how to worship me and your, honoring me in the ways and the methods that your father, David instructed you to. And when we say this guy's clever, we're drawing on numerous anecdotes, and the most famous one which I think everybody is heard whether or not, you are religious, whether or not you're that familiar with western religion, you've probably heard the story of the baby right where he is a judge. Yeah. And these two women come to his court, and they have a baby. And both both of these people say that is my child. I miss spoke as well. Solomon is not known for practicing any dark arts, but there are things that he caught a fide and committed to text that were used a sort of lexicon. By others. That practiced said dark. You know, I think the term dark art to is something that undergoes in Aleutian. That's a very good, according to legends practicing some stuff. But later, it would be called dark arts right by church authorities. Okay. Then. All right. So far. Spot on. But back to these factories. These are the days before DNA testing, obviously. So they say this is my kid this lady's line. And the other lady says, no, this person's lied. This is truly my child and Solomon. Solution was to really double down on this. He said, okay, you've both convinced.

"About the details that they you know about the anti Christ and the details of scripture and those kinds of things instead of doing something worthwhile for for the kingdom. And there it is going to be so difficult for us to put a chip implant in your brain. What what God would have? And what that might mean for us, isn't it? Yes. I mean in this YouTube video I saw whether you're talking about this brain chip implant, they don't really wanna drill holes in people's heads to do this. So they're talking about being able to swallow something that will end up implanting itself in your brain. Oh my gosh. Yeah. Wow. This is. Way any Endymion the book or a summary of a a conclusion, but what are some of the things that people will practical things that people will begin to come to an understanding of from from reading decoding the anti Christ. Well, I think. I really believe what's going to be so deceptive is he very well could be a professing Christian, and this is based on scriptures. And I think he's going to be someone who is very famous who's very wealthy who is very powerful and people are gonna trust him because King Solomon really was the type of anti Christ not Christ. He he was very religious. But at the same time when you pro. What was the serpent? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And and that's what this, you know, this book folks is going to help you come to that realization of some of those things I thought some of the insights on Solomon were were. "Are you confident in the United States that kind of investment would be welcome. The safest would be accepting of that. Because it seems to be a lot of tension right now between congress and the kingdom, and I'm wondering whether that's going to harm you'll strategic objectives to some extent. I don't see any any issues on that quite the opposite. We are in terms of our investment, it is will come. We are looking at opportunities as I said, we have both major investment in our. Refined in the US. We are almost a billion dollars of it's already ongoing right now, we're looking to expand that to additional refining capacity or bitter, chemical capacity. We and Gaz -tunities some of it. We are currently in discussion with companies in the US. So the opportunities are there. We don't see any potential problem from anybody else in terms of the World Economic Forum, and let's wrap this up as the final question just wanted to how welcome the Saudi delegation. It's being because it was only a couple of months ago, we were talking about people dropping out of Davos in the desert desert is it business as usual. Now. You get the sense that is businesses usual now has anything changed for. They said I'll be talking about Saudi Aramco we for us. We are actually what tab in this year than last year growth. Yeah. We're looking to be little either when it comes to oil. We're looking to be the need to gas chemical refining base oil trading. We have four million battles. We're looking to be six million battles over the next three years. So huge investment huge opportunities.
