Evangelism on SermonAudio
A highlight from Session 2 Evangelism
"Today we start with evangelism defined. We need a what is evangelism and the slide is just here to help. Everything that's up here on the screen is also on your sheet. By the way, the word evangelism itself doesn't appear in the KJV, it doesn't appear there at all. But the word euangelia, euangelixo, I think I have that down here, the word evangelist appears three times and that's Acts 21 .8 where it speaks of the house of Philip, the evangelist. And in Ephesians 4 .11 where he says he gave some apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastor teachers. And then 2 Timothy 4 verse 5 where he says, do the work of an evangelist, recommending that to Timothy the pastor. So the word evangelist appears there but the word evangelize as such is not in the King James but it appears there in various forms. Many times the word euangelixo or any of the declension of that, euangelixo, it is related to the word euangelion which is the gospel and euangelixo, I bear the good news, I bear the gospel, I bring the gospel. And I've listed some ways it's used here. Matthew 11 .15, one word, have the gospel preached. One word for those five words, a form of that word. Luke 4 .18, to preach the gospel, that appears in Acts 16 .10, Romans 1 .15, Romans 15 .20, 1 Corinthians 1 .17, 2 Corinthians 10 .20, there you have the word, one word translated to preach the gospel. Luke 7 .22 and again in 2 Peter 1 .25, the gospel is preached. One word, euangelion or euangelixo, I should say. Luke 8 .1, showing the glad tidings. Luke 9 .6, preaching the gospel, one word for all three words. Luke 20, verse 1, preached the gospel. Acts 8 .25, 14 .7, 14 .21, Romans 10 .15, preach the gospel and again in that same verse bring glad tidings. Same word, 1 Corinthians 9 .16, I preach the gospel, Galatians 4 .13, Galatians 1 .8, preach any other gospel. And so it has the word in King James, any other, but the word, preach the gospel, is one word in the Greek there, euangelixo, 1 Thessalonians 3 .6, brought good tidings, Hebrews 4 .2, 1 Peter 1 .12, those that have preached the gospel unto you. And 1 Peter 4 .6, the gospel preached. So that word appears many, many times, let's look at it some more here. I better keep the computer up to date with me here. Whoops, what am I doing wrong here? I thought I just punched here, what do I do? I'm going to have to have Chris come back and tell me what to do, something's froze up here. What did I punch that time? Alright, I'm rushing it too fast, alright, we'll catch up with that in a bit. Luke 3 .18, 4 .43, 16 .16, and all of those references there, I'll go through all of them. Every one of them I've listed down here from the above references we find 48 times the word euangelixo appears in the New Testament. Other references which I've not listed where the word is translated declared and showed. The frequent use of this word in the Greek New Testament tells us how important the Lord considers this matter of evangelism. The word preached the gospel or related phrases as a translation of the one word translated into English, evangelized. And though it doesn't appear in our King James Version, it does appear in the Greek New Testament. So, let's note that next paragraph. In addition to these 48 references involving that word, there are an additional 56 references in the New Testament that have the word gospel, a translation of euangelion. This makes a total of 114 verses in the original that speak of the gospel and the proclamation of the gospel. And so, it is an important word. I want to see where I am. Where do you find the word on this, the frequent use of this word? That's way back at the first point, isn't it? Ah, right where I am. I'm right there. Now, let me figure out what I punched a minute ago. I think I did. I've got it going now. Alright. The meaning of evangelism. The meaning of evangelism. John Stott stated, the deep Bible doesn't, wow, something happened there. Does not just contain the gospel, it is the gospel. He was commenting on Galatians 3 .8, the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, in thee shall all nations be blessed. Now, of course, John Stott would not be in our camp, and I'd agree with his statement, though he might not agree with us stating that we ought to preach the whole counsel of God. And we're going to need to keep that in mind all the way through. We need to preach the whole counsel of God. Yes, sir? Some of the reading for Dr. Rice, he said that if so many or evangelism was the main business of the Christian, do you think that's an accurate statement? The question he asked was this, and the reason I'm repeating the question is so it gets on the tape. The question he asked was this, in the reading from Dr. Rice, he said that the main business is the business of evangelism. Am I giving it right? And he said, what is my appraisal of that? I would believe that statement is very true. Our preaching ought not be totally evangelism and evangelistic. In fact, our business, he asked the question, the way he phrased it, the main business is solely, I'm going down the road here a ways, I'm going to give you an article that appeared, I'm trying to remember who it was, I think it was written by Dr. Gordon, I'm not sure. Anyway, I've got one in the notes here. Keeping to the main issue, keeping to the main business, and it's quite an article. It wasn't Dr. Gordon. I can't even remember who wrote it now, but I've got it to hand out and I want you to take it. I believe the main business of all our churches is the matter of winning souls and missions, outreach, winning, evangelizing. Now that doesn't mean in doing that, that all of my preaching ought to be evangelistic and everything about my church should be evangelism. I need to be building up the Christians and we're going to come to that. I need to be building up the Christians and evangelism doesn't involve just winning the soul. The evangelism involves discipling that person after he's born again. I think we'll cover much of that, but I'm not saying that I disagree with Dr. Rice. I'm saying I may be adding to him, adding some things to what he would say, but I believe the one thing we neglect an awful lot in our churches and look for excuses to neglect is this matter of evangelism. We come along with the idea there are other things more important and we get sidetracked. Up in Marshalltown, Iowa, there is the Fellowship Baptist Church up there. The pastor at one time was Dr. Glenn Jaspers and David Jaspers pastored the church. He's now president of Maranatha. David Jaspers pastored the church for a time. And you walk in their building, in the foyer, right there in the foyer is a great big sign I've never forgotten. It says, let's keep the main business the main business. And what they're saying is the emphasis around here needs to be on evangelism, keeping the main business the main business. And fellas, that's exactly what I fail to do a lot of the time. I let other things crowd in and push me and I have to check up on myself all the time. And too often, I'm not keeping the main business the main business. And so I'm saying to you, I believe evangelism is desperately important. Alright, now when you ask a question, I'll answer your question. I will give you opportunity, now feel free to raise your hand, unless you've got a real long question, then I want you to be up here sitting, give you an opportunity to come up here and be seated so you can get right up to a microphone. They're supposed to have a microphone standing, we will have one, for long winded questions. But than other that, I'm going to answer, I'll re -state the question here. He needs a coffee, who handed these out, do you have two of them? Okay, alright, he's got one, thank you. So I believe the statement by Dr. Rice is true and however, let me go back, you'll make a mistake if you say, well it's a main business so every sermon is going to be evangelistic. I believe every sermon should contain evangelism. There should be the gospel in every message I bring, enough gospel to challenge a person to get saved. But my business, let's go to Ephesians 4 .11, he gave some apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors, teachers, for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry. Now we'll come to this later, we might as well get to it now. For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, the second word for there is E -I -S, unto. That could be translated, that we are perfecting the saints, who is that? The evangelist and the pastor teacher, to perfect or mature the saints, the word perfect there is the idea of maturing the saints, maturing the saints unto the work of the ministry. So what should it be? We should understand that it shouldn't be that we are in the pastorate and we're standing in the pulpit to develop others so they'll go out and give out the word of God. That we're maturing the believers unto the work of the ministry, unto the edifying of the body of Christ. Now I think that's an important verse to have as a key in your philosophy, Ephesians 4 .11 -13. I think it's vital that you have those and that you memorize them and keep that in mind. When we do that, it says the evangelist and the pastor teacher, for the perfecting of the saints, for the maturing of the saints, unto the work of the ministry. What am I saying? Evangelism is the main thing and I ought to be developing Christians so they can go out and be evangelists. So they can go out and do the work of evangelism. And that means that my messages, and I think this is the way I operate, my messages are primarily to Christians. And nearly every message I bring, I could probably say this wasn't a thoroughly evangelistic message. My messages are to bring a message to the Christians to help develop them so they can go out and be better soul winners. But all the time I have in mind, we need to develop soul winners around this church and evangelism is a major thrust. Did I answer your question? Yes sir. Alright, thank you. Okay, let's come on to Roman numeral II, the meaning of evangelism. And we'll come on down to a second quote by John Stott. Oh, I went a little past that, no here we go again. It went on beyond that. Second quote, through the Bible, God is Himself actually evangelizing, that is communicating the good news to the world. All scripture preaches the gospel, God evangelizes through it. However, again I'd say that all of us fellas need to remember we're called to preach the whole counsel of God. And you see guys like John Stott and those men do not believe that separation is a doctrine. That's the problem with the new evangelical crowd. They do not believe separation is a doctrine. I believe you've got a doctrine of inspiration and you've got a doctrine of the virgin birth and the resurrection and a doctrine of separation. And we should respect it as a doctrine and preach and teach it just like we do other doctrine and realize that separation is a vital issue. But the main business of a church is to evangelize and win souls. Alright, let's go on. Capital letter A, the Bible is really the best sourcebook, capital letter A, the proclamation of the gospel. Now, we see from these notes given above, it means to give the gospel the good news of salvation, to get out the message.

Capture Your Thoughts and Reveal Your Future
"So finding thoughts can be done. You can capture thoughts. And it's very helpful to find the thoughts and gather the inconsistencies that defeat those thoughts. If they're, especially if they're tormenting you. It's good to have weapons, spiritual weapons like this, soul weapons like this that can really help you to get free and choose and be empowered, not be a victim. You know, our mind space, I can feel like it's possessed at times. Like it doesn't, like we don't have a choice there. And by mind space, I just mean the place that we have thoughts. Hebrews 1, 14, I think, there at the very end of that chapter, it says, aren't all angels ministering spirits? That word all stands out, all angels, even demonic angels. So they're ministering spirits. That's the other word ministering. That means they, and this is a new King James version I'm quoting, but aren't all angels ministering spirits. But if you look into that word ministering, it's like persuasive beings. So this is really their only fight. This is where they fight. This is the second heaven. So they're there, they're fighting. And so we've got to take down the strongholds here in this place, the principalities, the principles, the ideas. Those are the thoughts. So sometimes this really is our battlefield in life, but we do it not from a first heaven, an earth, a soul level, because we're Christians. And as little Jesus is, we're sons and daughters of the living God. We're as little gods as the Bible says, lower case G. We sit in heavenly places, looking down on the second heaven. So we're always fighting from victory, not for it. And we capture the thoughts and we decide whether we want to keep them or not. We decide if we want to continually agree with them or not. So maybe we did make agreements with a thought, but that doesn't mean that we have to keep our agreement because Jesus has paid it all. And his blood sacrifice, his blood, it was the price that he paid. So it doesn't matter what curse, doesn't matter if you cursed yourself, doesn't matter if somebody cursed you. Nothing is so powerful that it can keep a hold of you. So you can release yourself from every second heaven idea. And in some ways, you know, I think I read a post recently, you know, the only real handicap is a bad attitude. And that's a really good observation because, I mean, you've probably run into people who have, you know, a handicap that you can't imagine having. But then they also have this contradictory, amazing attitude and you're like, wow, am I the one that's handicapped here? And so this is why we fight this battle. Jesus completely won. There is, and he just completely won. So we're not fighting from a place of keeping the war alive or anything else. We're just taking ground. We're commanding and casting down and taking authority over. We're being territorial, like our father in heaven has always been. We're learning from Jesus that there is space, there's mind space that we need to take hold of. And this is where you'll find that you can tell your future.

A highlight from Two Different Americas Right Now Amid Another Trump Arraignment
"Happy Friday! What a week, huh? What a rough, rough week it has been. You ever consider how weird it is that we feel like we live in two Americas? Isn't it bizarre how there are two kind of countries within the United States of America? Millions of us are disgusted at the persecution of Donald Trump. Millions of us believe that the Justice Department has been horrifically weaponized. Millions of us support police officers, the rule of law, the border, the military, the church. That's one America. Another America is like the direct opposite of all of that. They hate the cops. They don't want to enforce crime. They don't want to enforce the law. They look the other way at crime. And they believe that Donald Trump should die in prison. They literally believe because of Trump's belief that he was robbed in 2020, that he should spend the rest of his life in prison for that. I mean, this is exactly what this all comes down to. I want to give you an example of that other America. I am pro law enforcement. I spend as much time as I can. My life's work, along with my dear, dear friend, Joey Hudson in South Carolina, is to present Gallagher's Heroes, the Fallen Officer Fund. And our mission right now is focused on first responders' Bibles. First responders, police, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, they witness horrific things in their day to day work, right? The first responders' Bible that you've supported over the years is a King James version of the Bible and a spiritual fitness manual that helps these first responders cope with the tragedies that they have to encounter. This week in Easley, South Carolina, a young police officer was tragically killed on train tracks. 22 year old kid, basically, but a young man who is beloved. The community is mourning. And we're going to make sure that the Easley and Pickens County law enforcement and first responders who had to be involved in that case receive these first responders' Bibles. So I'm pro law enforcement. I don't like criticizing a former Capital D .C. cop like Michael Fanone. Michael Fanone was one of the officers injured on January 6th. He has now parlayed that experience into a job as a CNN contributor. He is now a paid contributor on CNN so that he can take to the airwaves and say things like this. Terrorist who committed a horrific act against American people. Osama bin Laden was a terrorist who committed a horrific act against American people and against our republic. And I believe that Donald Trump is a terrorist who committed horrific acts against the American people. Now, you didn't hear that whole thing. I want to play it one more time. I want you to hear what this former Capitol Hill police officer who was injured while trying to protect the Capitol, heroic to be sure. I'm not going to slam the law enforcement that, well, didn't open doors for protesters and direct them into the Capitol. I'm going to talk about this guy who was injured on that terrible day. He is now a CNN contributor. Let me play one more time what somebody from that other America sounds like. Osama bin Laden was a terrorist who committed a horrific act against American people and against our republic. And I believe that Donald Trump is a terrorist who committed horrific acts against the American people. I honestly find myself so stunned at the vitriol and the deep hatred that people in that other America possess that I don't even know where to begin, other than to point out again that we are dealing with two Americas. I don't recognize that guy. I don't recognize that American. And he's a former cop.

Democrats are Trying to Rewrite the Second Amendment
"I know you want to talk about firearms in the Second Amendment. What are your thoughts on the Democrats goal to gun rep your thoughts? Charlie, I think the Second Amendment is good. I'd like to keep it. I think we should probably fight for that. How do you respond? I'm a big Second Amendment fan. In fact, we found a textbook at turning point academy. That's interesting. Turning point academy found a textbook that shows that they rewrote the Second Amendment in Texas school books. Did you know this? In the textbook. They wrote, you mean like an amendment was passed and we've changed the constitution? No, no. No, the way they teach it to kids now is not as it is in the Second Amendment, which is in my beautiful handy turning point USA constitution, which has the explicit words a well regulated militia being necessary to the security of free state, the right of people to keep bearing arms shall not be infringed. It says, because it modernizes the amendments. This is very similar to houses. This is very similar to how people read these ridiculous new Bible versions. What is that one called the vineyard or something? The new one, it's just such a joke. I actually wait behind the scenes. I actually asked Charlie the other day about the amplified Bible. And you were like, no, no. I'm a King James version ESV guy. I could go into that at a different time. But anyway, we could definitely go into that. I mean, I'm sure you're not a King James version fan, but that's a separate issue. I wonder why.

Why Did Adam Nicolson Write His New Book "God's Secretaries"?
"Of all, I always like to ask authors, why did you write this? Well, I came to a very odd route, a couple of years ago, in fact, in 1999, I was writing a book for the British government about a disastrous project they had called the millennium dome. I don't know if word of the millennium dome reached you over there. What didn't reach me personally, I can't speak for all my listeners. It was a huge, vastly expensive costing 1 billion pounds. One and a half $1 billion. Project to make us kind of grand celebration of the British national spirit. All the threads of British life were meant to be unified in this great circus tent in Greenwich in East London. And I was employed by the government to, well, not to beat about the voice to propagandize for it to rise in account of it as the most marvelous thing that ever happened. It was in the end, a complete disaster full of terrible bitter arguments and kind of a popular failure terribly criticized in the press and the generally a disaster. When I was doing it, a friend of mine said, of course, the thing you should be writing about is the King James Bible. Because the King James Bible in the early 17th century was also a great central government project aim aiming to unify all the different threads in the nation at the time. Bringing together vast numbers of very diverse people. And out of that, out of those same circumstances, which have made this modern disaster, the most beautiful book ever written in the English language emerged. And how did that happen? And I think that that is the question at the heart of my book.

Dennis Talks to Adam Nicolson, Author Of "God's Secretaries"
"Is, as I said earlier, God's secretary is just published by, in fact, there are mutual publisher Harper Collins. Now, by the way, let me just tell you, may I call you Adam. You close again. But no, no, no. If you prefer mister Nicholson, I'm happy with that. No, I prefer. Okay. Very good. Adam, I'm sure you've been interviewed by many, and I hope you have because this book deserves wide distribution. But I bet that I'm one of the few radio talk show hosts or television commentators that have interviewed you who actually knows biblical Hebrew. So I come to the only one. Okay, normally the only one in the world. Do I call you mister prager? No, I've earned mister as a result of that. I think it's mister from now on. That would be a way, way ahead of me on that. That would be the first time, though, where the interviewer calls the guest by his first name at the interviewer gets called by a survey. What can you teach me, mister Blake? You're a good man. All right, you might not have please, please call me Dennis. In any event, so I come to this with tremendous interest, obviously. And I have I am always on the search. I have about ten different translations of the Bible in English. And I got to tell you, there are some that are somewhat more accurate at times. And I'm going to talk to you about that. But nothing approaches the King James version for the sense of majesty that the original does have.

Shelby County D.A. Calls for Reform Based on 'Lessons Learned'
"I really do appreciate what the Memphis district attorney said. About this case. This is the Shelby county Tennessee DA Steve mulroy. And I think his words are very, very powerful. We all want the same thing. We want justice for Tyree Nichols. It's my hope that if there is any silver lining to be drawn from this very dark cloud, it's that perhaps this incident can open a broader conversation about the need for police reform. The world is watching us and we need to show the world what lessons we can learn from this tragedy. Those are really poignant words and appropriate and necessary. I agree that we should have a we could have a conversation about police reform. I am pro police, you know what I'm not doing this show. I spend time on Gallagher's heroes the fallen officer fund, which is our charitable foundation. We assist the families of police officers who have been killed in the line of duty because too many police officers are killed in the line of duty. We publish the first responders Bible, which distributes a King James Bible and a spiritual fitness manual to first responders all over the country. I proudly stand with police officers. But I don't think there's much dispute that 5 police officers shouldn't beat a guy to death. Now, I haven't seen the video yet. Most of us haven't. We're going to find out in a few hours, but I'm told it's really bad. It's really awful.

Live Behind The Veil
Family And Friends Talking
"Welcome to live behind the veil and atmosphere where men and women of God speak his word to this age and bring his kingdom to this earth. Do you have ears to hear and eyes to see what God is doing in this hour? Let us join our host and the family's conversation as the Holy Spirit is unfolding. The word behind the veil. Hello, everyone. And welcome to live behind the veil. I'm Ron your host, and today the family discusses the many different aspects of these deep love relationships in our father's family. No one will need to teach you because all will know the lord. We are just talking about the word. We're talking about the lord, and we're not trying to teach anyone out there. We're just sharing the love of the lord that we have with one another. That's very true. Not like teaching from the old school or bringing sermon from the old school sense of the world. And that's exactly what we're not doing. Right. We have a walk with the lord and we have a relationship with the lord and because out of our relationship, we're ministry to each other and tell us. Right. We just want to share that with each other and with right. You know, I believe it was our last podcast. We talked about the fact that we believe that the kingdom is relationships relating and communicating. That's exactly what we're talking about. I meet the lord when I'm speaking with you guys. Or with others of like mine. And I think that's incredible because he's moving differently. He doesn't come to Gideon and say, oh, man of valor now go defeat the media nights. He doesn't do that anymore. I don't think. I don't think it's a one man show. You know, I think he's doing away with a singular ministry who takes all the glory on the stage. I don't think he's doing that. I think he is communicating through vessels who are just open to communicate and love one another, and share what the lord is doing with them. Right. Basically to me what this podcast is all about is a group of men and women that come together, and they just want to speak what's on their heart. And then, as a listener, you can come in to that room and sit there and listen to the conversation. In the lord can meet you through that conversation, and hopefully he'll meet you enough that you will want to reach out to us and talk to us and create a relationship. That's right. Become part of it. Exactly. That's right. Preaching has never gotten anybody anywhere. No. You know, people come in and make the people sit down and they preach at them and stuff. That hasn't really met the church of Christ. What meets the church of Christ is when you come in and you relate to one another. What could the early church do? They came to each other's house and what did they talk about? How God was meeting them and what they were doing from day to day. That's what met them because my experience is going to be different than your experience with Christ. Right. But they're both Christ. You give me faith. I give you faith. And that faith moves us forward into his kingdom. So the relationship of love is the thing that the kingdom is made of. And that's what we're dealing with, we all respect one another, and we all know that Christ is in each of our hearts, and because of that, when we relate, we're glorifying Christ, and it's an awesome, awesome place. And as more and more of us and others do this, we're going to find the kingdom start expanding on the earth, more and more. Yeah. And that's what our heart crying. Yeah. Right. Our heart cries for the kingdom of God to come on the sir, to displace all other kingdoms. Right. To make his kingdom be the only kingdom on his earth. And we love each other. The love of the lord is so evident in our relationship with each other. I kind of like the word Friends, there's something really important about that said in the scriptures. Jesus really wanted his disciples to be friends. And I feel like as we walk with God, we learn to marry one another. As friends, the part of that love is speaking the truth and love to one another. Right. There's an aspect of it that we're talking about with this fire. The positive side of that fire is at the moment you're going through it, you're hearing this from those that love you because where do you get the wounds? Correct. It's a sign you need to take that as a sign to you that you're not illegitimate child of the lord and not a son. If you're walking through life and God is not touching areas of your life and you don't have people speaking truth to you, especially, you know, husbands and wives and in a family atmosphere and it's done in love and I think if you look at this one scripture, my son do not regard lightly the discipline of the lord. Nor fate when you're punished by him. Right. For whom the lord loves he disciplines. And he punishes every son whom he accepts. It is for discipline that you endure. God deals with you as was sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline. But if you are without discipline, of which you have all become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. And so I want to take the positive side of this because I know we've seen a brother or sister do something or say something and you pull them aside and you go, hey, you know, that really was it the right thing to do. And then they can take that and go before the lord with it or however they process that. But this fire that God has and that we're talking about is a very positive thing and we need that in our lives absolutely. Yeah. You know, real quick, Jim loop 12 is where you want to find out about Friends. I agree with you completely on that. Laurie, what you're talking about, too, and the fire. It is because God loves us that he puts us through the fire. Right. Did he test us? He puts trials in front of us so that we can come to the other end of it. So it purifies us scriptures talk a lot about the purification of gold. You know, you put the fire to it and then all the dross comes to the top. Also silver, silver is really known for their draws, but it's the purification process. You have to put heat to it so then all the dross comes to the top and you skim it off, and then you do it again and you do it again until the purity of the silver or the gold is evident and that's what God is doing with us. Creating us into his gold and silver vessels. Yeah, I like to go back to what Jim was saying because the thing about friendship. I want to connect that with what Laurie was saying. In my mind, what the lord is doing is he's bringing forth in many membered body. He's bringing forth his family. Although I believe that the lord does deal with us through circumstances, things like that. He does do that. But I think as we progress in the lord, that becomes less and less, the real things that deal with our spirits is from our brother, in our sister, but see, that's not going to happen unless we begin to develop the relationships of trust between us and like Jim was saying friendship. The truth. You just think about it. Somebody comes up to you and crosses your will, and you don't know them from beings. You're not really going to listen to that very readily. You're not going to be open in your heart to that. As we progress in God's kingdom, and this is what Alan started with, the kingdom of God is relationships, not any relationship, its relationships with people that are with Christ, full of God, full of the Holy Spirit. They're very special relationships that the Holy Spirit's created, and those special relationships can minister discipline to one another. We've seen the attempt at church discipline and most of the time, I don't think it's worked too well. I think it's been oppressive, suppressive, because the relationship wasn't at the depth there. There wasn't the deep, friendship, the deep trusting. I'm not saying that's a blanket thing. I'm sure there were some, but I feel like as the body of Christ, this is what we're reaching into is these deep, deep, deep relationships that we can be crossed by one another. And it's not going to be a blowout. Now, no. You don't blow out when your friend comes up to you and says, you know, Jim, that wasn't quite right, which you said. Because Jim knows my heart, he knows I have a love for him in a brokenness, and I'm not being arrogant or trying to hurt him. So that's the type of relationship I think we're entering into. That thing of silver you're talking about Allen. Here's something that's got precious metal in it. John 15 1213. My command is this. There you go. Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this to lay down one's life for one's friends. There is a discipline that we follow in God in Christ, the command that we are to be crossed. We are to be crossed up in our own will. That's the truth. And in doing that, we're laying our lives down for our Friends. The thing of trust versus the thing of judgment, judgment has a bad connotation because basically he's just purifying us as we get more purified we can come into the trust more of one another, and that oneness will start coming forth. Yeah. Unless you have that trust, you're going to react. And you're not going to open up to your brother. But as we come into the purification process, if we let the lord bring out the dross, then we can open up more, and actually start working in this thing that Christ wanted to put on the earth in the first place. Exactly. And that's where the church age has not done it. It's either you're sinning and you're going to hell or you're following all the rules. Or something. And that's not what Christ wanted. He wanted the thing of trust to start growing in humanity. Right. Right. The lord takes a step by step. And it's a young child. He would not allow them to do certain things, and he would discipline, and in one way. But as they grow as they become more mature, as they come into a relationship of knowing and trusting the lord, being able to know who the lord is, who others are being able to trust them, then they're able to open up more. And as you open up more, the lord brings different things to their brief to draw set. And as it draws comes up, because they trust in the relationship that they have, that have been developed for over a period of time. Then, the draw doesn't become a killing point. It doesn't become the issue, it becomes a thing that you just skim off the time. Right. And you become here before the lord, you know, a step by step most dirt as you walk people. Yeah. Yeah. You're talking line upon line precept upon precept. That's what I was going to say. Is that what you're going to say? Yeah. Okay, I just wanted to tie what Ron and what I said and what the others have been saying is that this lifestyle is a choice. Yeah. Not everyone, then there are different levels of walking with God. And different depths. And we're talking about becoming sons and becoming all in 100% disciples. And that's what I wanted at ties all this together. You as an individual Christian need to come to the place in your heart where you desire and choose this. There are so many dwelling places. In the kingdom of God. It's interesting because one of the places of division that has been huge is people think, well, I believe this way and this way is higher and this weighs more and so Lori is saying he goes, what we're holding up here is a very high standard. It's called a sun ship, but guess what? You may be starting out, or you may be walking, have walked with the lord ten years, but you're just not there. Your heart's not there. You know, God hasn't brought you to that place, and that is okay. That is fine. You're not less of a person, you're not less before the lord, he doesn't look at you. You don't look at your child, your two year old, and putting down because you can't do what your 18 year old can do. Correct. Your love just as much. There is no put down. And that's the subtle thing that tries to come in when you start speaking things of sun ship and resurrection life. And all these things that we're talking about, it's not a put down. If you're not there, it's fine. In fact, one of our great mentors told us when you hear stuff and it just doesn't click with you. You're just not there. Don't throw it away, just put it on your spiritual shelf. And the Holy Spirit will bring it to you when it's time for you. You're fine where you're at. I was just thinking, in my house, there's many dwelling places, and you can choose where you want to dwell. It doesn't matter. Once you accept the lord, you're going to have it. And if somebody wants to be there and just accept the lord, that's their choice. It's not the choice I would make. It's because I'm not them. Yeah, and so there's no judgment in it or anything. But if you choose to really become a mature son of God, these are the steps that you need to go, and it's a maturing process. In my father's house are many dwelling places which is true. There are many dwelling places. In the King James it says in my father's house are many mansions. So you can live in the penthouse so you can live in the basement. It's your choice. Today we've seen that the love discipline and maturity comes through these deep love relationships in the father's family. We've also seen that in our father's house there are many dwelling places. Many levels to live on, the question is, which level will you choose? Experiencing the impartation of God's word through his family is life. Live Behind The Veil
A highlight from The Living And Abiding Word Of God Part-1
"Welcome to live behind the veil and atmosphere where men and women of God speak his word to this age and bring his kingdom to this earth. Do you have ears to hear and eyes to see what God is doing in this hour? Let us join our host and the family's conversation as the Holy Spirit is unfolding. The word behind the veil is a revelation of the Bible in this generation that leaves us without the power we need to act on all the other experiences we have received from God. I'm Ron your host. And on this podcast, we are reaching in to a deeper revelation of the Bible. God's word. This is God's channel to speak to us and to impart his nature to us. For his word is living and active, sharper than any two edges sword. His word is awesome. The Bible is not just some story book, or some book you read to prove something, it is, in fact, the word of God. Until you see it as the word of God, you're not, you're not going to have a relationship with him in reality, you know, because this is where he chooses to speak to us. One man I believe it was spurgeon or Hagen, I forget, made a statement they said, when I pray I talk to God. When I read the Bible, God talks to me it is the lack of revelation of the Bible. That leaves us without the power, we need to act on the other experiences we have received from God. You know, the awesome thing about the scriptures. You can read them, and get something out of them. And then go back next week and read the same scriptures, and get something else out of it, get something more out of it. And that's the exciting part. That's the fact that it is a living word. It's something that's alive. It has authority. It has power it has all those wonderful acronyms, not acronym, wrong word. Sorry. It's the wonder of God's word. It is God's word. It's his method. He has chosen to speak to people on earth. It's not just something that contains a history lesson or a religious articles that you need to follow or the good the bad, the ugly and all the other things that everybody talks about. You know when people love talking about God, this is his word and he wants to talk to us through it. If you read it and you get a revelation of the lord of who Jesus is who the father it doesn't matter, then you're reading it correctly. If you read it any other way, you missed it, it's unbelief. That's how Satan uses the word to deceive people. Is because there is no relationship to that word to the father in the word, once that is real and living in just, you gotta talk about it. You gotta share it because it's that exciting. It's that amazing, you know? Take any scripture, get a revelation of who God is, in that verse, in the words in the little intricacies. I wish people would have that same excitement that I'm feeling right now because that word is so alive. It's something that's going to feed him and they're going to go, oh my goodness, I never saw this before. I think the one thing that God's giving us in this day and age is a deeper, appreciation for the Old Testament. Because we're beginning to realize some simple things, Christ, he was a rabbi, he taught, in the synagogue, and what did he teach from? He taught from the Old Testament. And in we get into the day and age we're living in now, there's been so much focus. On the New Testament, but what we have is appreciation for both. When God opens up something in the scriptures, he does it more than once. And what's need is is to see where he did it first. In the Old Testament. To where he began it, and it's amazing how God in his scriptures does the same thing. The miracles, he does it over and over again. And I think that that is important to recognize because. We're living in the day when he's doing the same thing. You can read the same scripture over and over and over again weeks later months later years later, and yet you get something different out of it. That's the truth. You read it out of the American standard version on this time, maybe the next time you read it out of the King James version, and they've got different words in there. There was all part of the same scripture, but now it means something to you because it's where you are at. And that's the important thing. You have to grow. And as you grow, you're not going to be in that same spot that you heard that word a year ago. Nope. So you've got to move on. And God gives you that. You get a re revelation of Christ. So that you can walk in that new revelation that's going to bring you forth into his word. We've already talked about, you know, the scripture is being revelation. We've talked about reading the word and it means something more to you next time and next time and next time, to me, those are little peeking in to the nature of Christ, peeking into the presence of the lord. The word of God is much more than revelation, its life, it's an impartial very nature. It's an open door to have a relationship with Christ. It's an open door to know the father. It's an open door to experience what we read about as far as Christ in the father, and I'm not putting down having revelation. Obviously, there's more to that. It's not these well, I read the scripture a year ago, and I saw this, now I'll read the scripture this year, and I see something different. There's nothing wrong with that. There are little previews, what we're talking about is the scriptures being an open door. To a relationship where the father is speaking to you, imparting his nature to you, it's beyond our minds to comprehend the relationship that comes through the scriptures. Their importation, the nature change that comes through the scriptures. We grasp a little bit, you know, we read the scriptures and we get a revelation of something. Again, nothing wrong with that. That's like a drop in the ocean. I believe that as we read the word and got imparts his nature to us, our capacity to receive from him increases. And so as that capacity increases, the ability for us to see and hear Christ in the father increases. So then it becomes more than just getting a new revelation. It's sitting down in communing with them. Communing with the father, communing with the spirit realm with the cloud of witnesses. Because that's what the Bible is. It's an open, living door. To the spirit realm. Right. He'll only give you what you can handle at any given time. And just like you're talking about, Ron, it is a vast ocean of things of God. You know, there is so much in there. Human minds can't comprehend what it is at all. It just impossible. But when you have the Holy Spirit teaching you and guiding you through it, it should be, just like yesterday, let's just say a 5 year old child's son had a time with dad, and they had a wonderful time and dad's teaching him how to write his bicycle, and then today he's with dad again, and dad's letting go of the bicycle, and letting him ride it. We progress in the lord in that same fashion, it's not like he's going to give us everything we die. We just can't, we can't hold it all. And we have talked about the upward spiral, unique God in one location, when you come around again, it's the same word, it's just different. You know, he's revealing more of himself to use, that you're able to take. He's so much more than just some God out there that is mad at everybody or if somebody has a revelation of the fact that he loves everybody, you know, is so much more than that. He wants to be dad. He really wants to be dead, and he wants to be dead to everybody, not just a few. You meet God, you go around and you come back and you meet God again, and he's more to you. Yeah. That is important because if you got a revelation from God, and you stop there, and you've heard of many people that they stopped and 45 years ago, God met me. What if he's done since then? God wants to meet you daily. Right. Not only does he want for you to see him daily, he wants to get to know you. And if 45 years ago was the last time that you connected with him, you know, it's not good enough. Not for God and not for you. People talk about reading the scriptures daily. And you read them until God speaks to you. That's so important. If you want to go doing his reading the scriptures and you're not getting anything out of it, like we said, that's unbelief. But if you're sitting there and you're getting more and more and more daily, then you have a walk with him. And he's going to continue and the more that you can take, the greater the revelation he's going to give you. Yep, of course, then it comes the responsibility. You have to walk in it. But you do that with such a joy in your heart because you're talking with dad. Yep. If you consider the communion, what did Jesus say when he broke the bread? This is my body. The scriptures are him, eat, right? Of the word. You know, we talk about masticating assimilating and eliminating, you know? You want to take it in, and then you need to let it assimilate, and you eliminate the old human nature, get rid of that. And do it again. One of the things that we establish over our walk with God are certain principles, one of those principles is we have been told that the Bible is the word of God. Yes. That's why we pick it up to start with. There is a drive and a hunger. To find out more about this guy. There is some type of inertia that we take even out of curiosity. To find out what's in this book. That curiosity is quickly honored. By at getting the idea that there's a lot in here that I could benefit from. Many people say that you can just about trace. A lot of the famous sayings to the scriptures. They were said therefore. Many of the laws of our society are taken directly from the Bible to ten commandments. There is a lot of things in our everyday life. That are governed by the scriptures. And so we have kind of built in knowledge and a curiosity to find out about more. God has guaranteed that if you give yourself to the reading of his word, that he will revolt revealed to you more knowledge. More truth, but the scriptures were so much more than that. And that's what we're trying to reach into. We're trying to reach into much more than what we see. In our culture, our society, and that comes by, knowing how to read. And you talked about that and I think what you said is wonderful. And it's important that we give ourselves to a daily reading of the scriptures, but it can't be a thing of self discipline. You should read the scriptures, as often as the spirit moves you. That in itself is an old saying. Quicken things to your heart, and he'll build within you a hunger for more. So, when you're hungry for more, go to the Bible. That is something that becomes a way of life. Our hunger and thirst for righteousness. And a second thing is, as we have to learn how to read it. And that's what you were alluring to add, read a chapter. Start out at verse one. And by verse two of God begins to speak to you about it, stop. Lesson. See what he has to say. And that comes through a gift of the Holy Spirit. Right. Yes. The Holy Spirit is that voice that can take conveys to you. The heart of God. No matter the situation, so you've got this chapter in your reading and you get to the second or third verse in God begins to speak to you. That's the living word of God. The Doug Collins Podcast
Christmas Teaches Us That We're All in This Together
"I want to focus on something first that I believe our country in many ways needs to hear at this Christmas season. And it is that all of us matter. And I think when you look at the Christmas story and you look at the story from the scripture, we see the story of them going, David and Mary and they went and it's always been fascinating to me that one of the Christmas play always it features an innkeeper who says no room, no room, you know, I read a story one time where the pastor went up to this young little boy and he was just in tears before the Christmas story. The Christmas play at their church and little boy was just upset and the pastor came to him and he says, you know, what is the problem? Why are you so upset? We're getting ready for the Christmas play and you got a great part. You're gonna be the innkeeper. And the little boy looked up at the pastor and he said, but pastor, he said, I don't want to tell Jesus he doesn't have a roux. And the pastor was a course taken back and he explained that. But imagine that right there. You know, my question to so many, especially for believers in Christmas is is do we have room for Jesus? Do we have room for Christ? The Christ of Christmas do we have room for? But after you have this and it says she rapped him and swaddled in swaddling clothes on from the old King James and placed him in a manger because there was no room for them in the end. But the very next verse hits on something that I want all of us to understand Democrats, Republicans, independence, conservative liberals, everybody else, is there were all in this together and that everybody matters. In our country needs to hear this because the next people that are said that when we switch from the birth of Jesus to the next verse in Luke chapter two verse I said, and there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks by night, and an angel lord appeared to them in the glory of the lord shown around them and they were terrified or sore fright. But the angel said to them, do not be afraid of bringing good news of a great joy that will be for all

The Dan Bongino Show
'The Case for Christ' Author Lee Strobel on the Biggest Christmas Misconception
"You out there I want to welcome back to the show A good friend to the show for his second appearance a guy who wrote a book that changed my life The book was called the case for Christ it's a magnificent book Lee strobe Lee welcome back to the show Well thanks so much Dan Merry Christmas to you and your listeners Merry Christmas to you as well my Friends so we spoke last time and will be rerunning that interview I got so much feedback about your book the case for Christ Little background folks again Lee Yeah people loved it Lee was a journalist writing a book and again leaf I mischaracterized his stomach but trying to discredit he existence of Christ and found himself becoming a believer while writing the book and wrote about his journey in a book called the case for Christ It's magnificent I just learned today Lee then you have a book as well called the case for Christmas So I am going to be picking this up today and it turns out there are a lot of misconceptions about Christmas that you've discovered in your work You want to go through some of them for us Yeah sure One of the big misconceptions I think stems from the fact that there's a certain Greek word that was mistranslated in the original King James version It's a work Catalina which is a Greek word that refers to a guesthouse And so when you read the story about the Christmas you know everybody's familiar with It's a Marianne Joseph go to Bethlehem for the census And the returned away by the mean oil innkeeper and so she has to give birth either in a cave or in a stable or something like that Well there was really no innkeeper that really wasn't all in The word can't Lima that's used in by the gospel writer Luke refers to a guest room And so what this means what actually happened is in the first century in a Jewish home in Bethlehem it would be one big room divided into two places One places for the animals to come at night and they would keep the animals indoors and there was a major there with some hay for them to eat built into the floor And a few steps up and then a living area which is where they would cook and sleep and so forth And sometimes the animals would come upstairs there's a couple of stairs there into the living area and so they had a major there as well Now some of the wealthier two families would have a second room A guest room called the Catalina And that's what the Bible is referring to And so what happened was Mary Joseph come into town and there was no room for them in the guest room of the house But there was room apparently in the family room and that's where she gave birth not in a cave not in a stable But there were animals around because they were allowed into the home at night And so that part would be accurate So I think people get the misconception that says all in keeper that somehow shun Mary and Joseph from

"Basically it works it. I'm not so people might say oh. Do i have the remo. The m people start doing the works and we know that the that the works and grace does not make so. I'm not saying this as a way of telling you to do the work of reading your kingdoms bible or something. I'm telling you when you have these emotional problems or this tries and tribulations it could be real world drizin tribulations in it could be something outside of your where you live or something. That has affected. You may be someone said something or you're going through some real world trials people prosecuting. Whatever some something what you do as way to find refuge in ps is you open your bibles dot reading note. That's a way of doing the works. In order to have justified yourself through work salvation or something know as a as a lifestyle the to basically just prayer is also away. We pray we pray. That's the way that we pray without. Ceasing we pray to deal with the our troubles daily troubles every day is evil but there's also the possibility over reading the word because we cleanse when we read the word. Is you cleanse. The will since when you read the word so you don't do. Is this as a work salvation. You do this as a way to be cleansed from all sins. You can read the word. The kingdom's bible and you will be cleansed from all sins and you have ref ridge in jesus christ you'll be washed by the word as washed by the word of got so it's a it's a way it's a is a in a sense of magic bullet or panir things panicky. I don't know but solution toward problems. You know because you're washed by the word you know so and then the your inner man is renewed day by day you know and so but alterman is not maybe but during the money's your new day by one you washed by the word you know it's not like if you haven't read the bible enough times you gonna don't don't get the works to get into heaven or something like that. It's not like that. It's in order to be for the daily cliff for for for washing. Your south in the word of god you know and a to jesus christ nor does work salvation but as a remedy against all sorts of troubles that come to our because this world is evil we have to deal with ziebel every day and we have to deal with the ourselves as what we we have We as professing christians as a save believers are not sade from being seniors at saved believers practicing believers practicing. You know so. We are seniors that we know that summer in the bible that those who were those who say they have not seen the truth is not in him or the father's day name or something. He's a liar izzo success. He hasn't seen those something. So i- assayed. Believer is still a senior buddies saved senior and in the sense that he's still dealing with the flesh assayed believers still has his own flesh to deal with amd because of that..

"Okay so i'm doing shortly. The physio here. And what i want to say is that we will go through tribulation in our we go through relation. Save believers go through three relation to that means that we can have all kinds of trouble in our lives. You know stress and worry and or to some degree that that we are kind of doing mistakes that that can cause us problems like you know. force-eight believer for save king Bible believer the wages of scene is still death and the the i think the the strength of the scene is lower or something like that so what that means is that that a king gains baiba believe that scenes will also face consequences for that seems we can also suffer for evil doings by mistakes you know by by by desktop having a bad day or something and that's why i want to point out that the days away to handle this in the ways to read your gangs bible and as you can see. This is my sight. Hoyer faith dot com magazi- here. That i made this page about is article about this that we can read out gingas bible to deal with all sorts of problems that we have so the king by believes the solution reading the king. Bible is the solution to everything and we have refuge in. Jesus christ when readout kinder's bible so so That's what i want to say. Let's say you have a. You're worried than you have trouble someday. You know you're breaking apart but what you do is you. Take your bible and you start reading. It could be anywhere. You could be the old testament you know. I read the new testament in the morning. Then read the old testament might be in the evening. You have some trouble sometime. Was donna reed rideau testament. You know as a solution to the problem and you will have refuge in jesus christ. So that's how we deal with problems. That's how we deal with stress. That's how we deal with or kind so if you have some emotional problem or some you go through some trials and tribulations baby rio both drives maybe just in your head maybe can be both or e you know but it's something that is troubling you. You go what you do. is you. sit down radio. King is bob eliza solution to everything the remedy that we can that we have for every age every problem in our lives so that works actually works. The result is bliss. So this is what i wanna talk about that. It's not like i say this that you have to this to work like work salvation or something is not something you have to do. I'm giving you this advice because it's actually works is like magic you.

"In doing is more voice Voice recording here. I've been thinking about things about The the faith and things like that. And i think that it's important to to be aware of the entire king bible scripture. Some people won't just part of it. I think they want the healing port and they want the wonders and miracles and they want to be in authority. They want to be have the authority of jesus christ of god or so. I think it is important to read The entire bible and realized the entire bible is true. And i think that eventually people will notice that as they grow older the faith they realize many of them some are trying to press into some magic peelers trying to to get something but i think that one can be god so god Is the one who leave by time with notices right. You know eventually kingdom by bliss right and these people who want to believe of those who use the bible. I think doing it for purpose because they want the authority themselves. They've noticed that it's the way to go. Because the bible is the kings bible east greatest the guy the person can have its most accurate guide. A person can have in his life or life and because of that. If you tell people north to read the kingdom's bob you get power over them. And that's the catholic. Steed during the door gauges when the bible is only available in that thing. And that's why they murder william wounded because he made the bible available in english so Basically takes away powerful people. If you're the only one of access to the bible you can have more power because the other people are blind. I know some people might have more of a gift than others. I'm sure there are people who who are not blind but the the bible is help for a believer. We have final authority because a lot of christians want to be the final authority over you. They wanted to be christ in not necessarily your life. but they won't be christ on earth and You know and that generally is sam soaring purposes. They want the power and authority price. They want the healing. And the miracle of the prophecy. But they don't of course. You don't want to be crucified or anything like that. But they want power and they won't power over you with you are in contact with them. If you're in front of them they will want power over you as well. So in that sense the kingdom's bible when we have A reference when we have a fine authority in the book they lose the power over us because no longer do we have the goal or have fellow either gold to them or have fellowship with them because a lot of christians they've find christ through fellowship with other christus. And when you do that you get. You can be manipulated. You can be taken advantage or you can get into see no wrong fellowship. You can be subject of awards. Sheep's wolves sheep and forms. Prophets and all kinds of evil satans ministers become the ministers righteousness. So you can become the subject all kinds of evil if your final authority is some local church or federal sheep with christians or whatever a lot of short people they have a meeting and they come to a decision based on democracy or based on whatever they decided in the meeting so when you have refined authority would usa king gays bible you are. You have actually an advantage because they find authority first of all that is correct thinking you have final authority that the cannot manipulate and so you can just withdraw and read your bible and you have the truce these enormous strength for a belieber. That's why i think those are believed to tina's bible. They are doing that. They haven't again Some kind of again. That that that itself. Sorry that is not for. The best view is not to benefit you. Or it's some self soaring again that they might they might be over trying to win against you..

"And a perpetual shame which not be forgotten. Lowered showed me. I'm behold to boss gets of peaks were set before the temple of the lord after that nebuchadnezzar king of babylon had carried away captive. You call now the sound of your king of yuda and the princess of utah with a carpenters and smiths from jerusalem and had brought them to babylon one basket had very good fix even like the feek set our first ripe and the other boss. Kit had very notifies we cannot be eaten they were so bad and said the lord onto me. What ceus year. Maya and i said fix the good fix. Were good very good. And the evil evil kind of beacon. They are so evil in the word of the lord came again. The word of came onto me. Say that says the lord the god of israel night these good figs so will i acknowledge them that are carried away captive of yuda whom i have sent out to the place into the land of the Deals for that. God where i was set mine is upon them for good. Then i will bring okay. We've paul i i walked. I didn't see. That was a chapter shane ship. Let's go shake for burden here. Look at burden in revelation. I kept on reading in chapter. Twenty four year. Meyer without thinking about what. I was doing there. Bargain is mentioned also in in revelation. And it's in revelation two but don't you i say onto the rest of data as many as having distorted and which have not known the depth of safe that as speak. I would put upon yunan other burden. So jesus christ can put a burden on people at priest you know like a human being priest. You're never put a burden on someone. Then you know they cut off. They cut off from god. You know if they do that but jesus christ can put the burden. How how does that happen. What some people. Just get surrounded by evil. You know some people he will start catches up with them and it comes to. The door is not some pastor sending them. It's just you're not just and that can be that there's a lot of pressure on someone you can notice that there's a lot of pressure on this person. He's got an heavy pressure. Borders are going to do for some people. They can't even run and hide. You know depends on the kind of situation. They in some people have it in their work so they could quit but is different for different people but some people have a burden on them. It seems like he can notice that on them. And i think to some degree i've met people who have had burden on them. I think that person was married to a woman who was What are you satan or whatever you call someone who had dabbling her. And very insidious woman. A new ager very insidious. And he was married to her. He was married to her. And that's a tough situation. You know but you know they weren't He was kinda basically you know. I don't basically the the that can be different situation when people have a bird in their life because they are in a difficult situation your enemies often as it says in matthew you you know you can have enemies in your own house but going up here think. Actually we can sort for that. It's.

"Here we have a book fifty four. It is i timothy speaking about the law. You know the noise for men steelers kidnappers. You know anything. Corn tried to sound doctrine. I listened to the taliban speaking and they said that they had taken some single women but they would not harm them. You know they said. And then there was a In afghanistan when some people that are kidnapped nine year old girl and they would the taliban they would hang him or hang them. Who have done this. They will kill them. That had done this but they themselves kidnapped this single women. But they don't concede that kidnapping and raping they. They take them and make them wive. So someone you know that's kidnapping and rape continuous rape from western civilized society position. I is is that for. In most societies the talibans want to want to have international acceptance. They want to be accepted as as the leaders of afganistan they're looking for that. That's why trying to be diplomatic. But they don't seem to have you know they have another definition staff. You know they men steelers. That's what they are. That's going to come to the men's dealers so one of them. Even a prophet of their own said the creatures are always liars evil bellies evil beast and slow bellies. I think this is such a great application whim now so good. This weakness is true. Where for beauty rebuked him sharply that they may be sounding the faith so they're always liars where we know that all men are liars but they they need this is there are some people who want to promote the idea. Don't call anyone a lawyer because we're all lawyers or something or you know and that's true. Everyone is a liar but said some people have made it their way of life to lie. The dc's the way and he's a truth that also means he doesn't lie you know so the ways not to to go around and lie but that's what they do. That's what i found out. You know that they've now the g. Some people have a jesus that all based on work. It's work work work and so lying is okay. Because they're working you know so. They lie all the time and they have made it their way of life to.

If i wanna look at lawyer for example. I think i have to do this. Oh liars exists as well liar will not be included then so it might actually be better just to search for liar. The hawks good a lot of good addicts have too many holes the halls in the east would be. I want to go back to miami. But i think been jimmy butler. Just play to similar for that to work. They would need if they they would. They'd have better point guard. Goran wasn't so old. I say miami would could could be a place for him to return to Giambi lebron bam goran Give a power forward or center and then people off the bench would look extremely imposing but just that you know that backwards getting kind of old. Yes is there for a year or two. I mean if you if you're doing one year two to year deal just to make a run title. "You as a player. He's he's the same dude. He was leading the pelicans developed any new on his postgame. Like we would watch pippen. Steel bikes moves. You know we will watch Bj talks about to tout. He had a play as with the hornets against the bulls because of what he learned from mike biegel bowl faintly with horse and what he applied from learning for bike alert for fill with the bulls and he went to orlando and apply that there and that helped her land get over the hump so we saw practical application there. We have not seen anybody lebron better player and they'd take to say okay now. You know i'm helping this team. Or the bronx left to our. I'm helping the old t get over the hob posts abroad and we haven't seen that Can't count kyri in brooklyn because he got kevin guard kevin durant and james harden like. That doesn't count if he went to boston and made them a. They were better without abuse. He'd go to boston. Beat them a better squad like the nets are just to stack for that to count as learning from the bronx. Being better make sense fail. I think honestly for lebron improved players. This is the time for the doing if he takes a career type role and he starts release schooling players and making the better and educating them still being highly effective player. This would be a the tiber. He really can't develop young players and make them really effective better than a better players because he won't have to demand the ball as much you'll be controlling the offense as much you'll be up a part of the system more than being system and he's done that a bit more be part of the system in lay and if he stays in la. I think you'll have to be part of the system than being the system and that will help the maturation development of those other players. Yeah that's like. I think what i'm saying es he's got to help develop his team if he wants to continue winning. He's gotta develop these guys that are around two. No question about it yeah. There's no other way. There's no other way to win. There is all the way the those guys have to get better for them to win. I think if they phoenix. But i don't think they go farther than that. Yeah i can see him much further than that now. Not the way. They're the belt at the way though. The role players play a case. Ep is he. Ain't it you know shooter. He's always been a solid backup but he's never been that dude to you know start. Run your squad One good year in atlanta during their mouth about it you know other that he was a solid backup. He was backing up. Jeff t t eight that dude. So you know he was backing up. Jeff t so. I mean he can only you know you gotta you gotta make these guys better especially because there are limited cap space wise and there's not allow players out there. They can really just go a get to to make the better so you know for his sake. I hope you braces that role. And i hope that you know for his sake he can find somebody or a decade proof house and they made me find someone else to help common Keep them competitive because it better for the league. You know when the lakers are playing well with the knicks are playing. Well when the celtics are playing well The league does better. League makes more money you know when they're their top historical franchises and top players. Are there so it'd be interesting ill. And if our brown. And i'm still trying to chase this. Go thing then i would say maybe. I need to leave the lakers. You know maybe. I need to go to a small market where no one expects ever to win you know. Take our challenge. Be the second guy. Let them let them carry us in. You know still come away with the title. Wet the cause any anywhere. He would go. That team is instantly a contender. You know if he went to portland. There is certainly a contender if he went to If he were to utah. And you know 'cause donovan. Yeah so she's done that she did did they. Didn't they have her own one. because they're like. Oh you're still a virgin. We're going to throw you on tv. And yeah yeah so yeah I think she'd be good because she kinda like help. She's been in both worlds. You know what. I mean so television and tracking the television side or the movie side a little bit at least Production different things like that and also understand very well understand. The trackside side. Thinks you'd be great as a consultant. So i don't know who they have consulting or whatever they have anybody but That'd be awesome if they can get real track people to the command consulted in even be. Do the racist like yeah. Because i can't imagine. I can't imagine ill track. Stars not wanting to participate because a lot of them ill. That'd be there a little younger than that. I am because they'd be sunset but they would know. Also though because i remember i remember though but top track is a young person's game by the almost forty by the time you're pushing forty year long tracking unless you know well not necessarily because the masters but i'm talking about i'm talking about olympic level track here. I mean masters. I mean the masters wholesome else like By my my my uncles ex team mates from the michigan panthers. He runs masters He's lightning fast. Still those guys can yeah he could go forget. It gives the top ahead Derek of course. I remember like after we're done recording but He is super super fast. He said no toby about some record. He said Recently wait that's where remastered. he's like. Yeah that's he masters of mike. Good god that's that's lightly. That i liked the best like better than anytime i did my. That's his master's time. Give me a break. And if you're listening to you don't know masters is essentially is where the old people do track and field It's a thirty five in up. Yes and you but you still have to qualify and everything. As if it's turned thirty five. I can be. It's not used to run up to qualify. You got still be the best of the best. Yeah but derek holloway. Who will he played wide receiver for the panthers and he still masters and out there said orbital records here the same but i'm also not surprised because who's it mike vick just still rent a four four forty eight more fast so i mean it's possible people but not everybody does not for everybody not at all. Yeah but i mean i'm excited. I like that. She was a fan. I didn't know she was a fan. I guess you ran high. She ran track. I think she rounded highschool would say high school. i mean she probably knows what it tastes. I mean there it. Yeah i mean she she might she might. I can't i can't say for sure she might but is he ran track but she but she does not look anywhere close to where she needs to be. No she's getting she's got got the look like you said and i. I know it's been a long time since. I've looked at a pair of starring box. Coming up out of them after wrong as time. If you're you know if you're not used to it it's it's so take a long time to get back into any recent form. Yeah the good thing is. She's not like super overweight or anything like that. Oh no doubt. She sees more. She looks good. Yeah it's it's really about tony up in Morning tony she's gonna at the gate cut. Yes but then you know that's a little bit easier to come back from where she's at versus somebody else's like you like yet is no way in the world you're going to be flo-jo exactly yeah but there's also a movie magic to like. I mean we're saying like to make it look as realistic as possible. But i mean magic buoy. Magic did make of the fact that we remember a democ- leon like he kind of knew what he was doing as a sprinter back in cool runnings so and right angles fast cuts. Will you get to look at like. Oh she's not aiming to cut the you know what. I mean like fast cuts in a lot of changing camera angles of you know stuff like that you can make it work so it then it then it becomes about the form yet that yes because you're going to have to have some slow mo shots in there And then they're gonna but he went they can focus on the nails they can focus on the outfits Cutting cutting do some sleight of hand. You'll work there. But i'm interested to see Just because it you know with legends like that you want to see it done right. Oh absolutely when somebody is a fame as you know. They're not gonna. They're they're gonna do their best to not mess it up right now. They're gonna they're committed to just as much as we are as fans absolutely but like you said earlier. It'd be. I appreciate the fact that she's doing this because there's documentaries but no one's really tackle flo-jo you know fell format lease. I know of her. Bring some new. You know seem could bring some new. I don't know how this it didn't see if he's going to be like a tv release or like box office but he didn't say if it was gonna be theatrical thing I'm hope so. That would be nice if even if it's not if it is. That's even better. Because i'll show i'll show up at the theater for that absolutely and if it's good you know with her name behind it and her. It attracted a lot of people Even if they don't know who. Joe is they know who tiffany haddish's right and so like. Oh yeah we'll go see his go support and that's how people respond sports in true different genres like you know you get the girls. I'm like oh. I wanna be like flo-jo you know god the movie the young girls and stuff. They'll go go hobie youtube though. Joe would see right when she did it. Eighty eight wow. She was fast. Yeah.

"Were track stars. You're from a greater track tradition. That i have. What are your thoughts on. Tiffany haddish's flo-jo. I'm torn love that. She's doing because she's she's not only issue starring she's directing producing producer. And i love that. She's committed to that Because i don't think anybody's ever really committed to tell flow joe story so i think that's awesome. I love that she's doing that I don't know. And obviously. I mean i guess she could easily but like i don't think she's in she's in shape plea blow joe well. Let's be let's be honest here. I there's ninety. Nine percent of hollywood is not in shape to play flo-jo wiser like in. I'm defending tiffany haddish. You're like a big fan of her like intimidating defense. Like she's got to get jack she's got to get on the track. Because you know the only people that are really gonna pay attention to this movie are gonna be people who who are into track when people who watch flo-jo rhyme and people like me who were member watching her soul the soul games and just being amazed at how fast this woman was right and her style and her grace at her power and if simply can't get on a track emulate that it's going to be ugly movies done. Yeah the whole you've done. So i am like the most important thing is that tiffany knows how to run and can come out of those blocks or whoever they can get to be the the stunt double to come out and block looking. Good which to me doesn't make sense. Why ill you don't get ill why you don't get like Lolo jones or allyson felix or somebody that can look at kinda can favor flow. Joe that we know can run. You know yeah to play the role of just now. Don't have a lotta talking around flow joe to make them act a lot. Like i don't know. Yeah i mean i could definitely see i could definitely see like lolo jones She might be a little bit too light. But yeah i was even thinking shea just somebody that can that can cause makeup people. Someone mentioned to me. Because i said that rob indeed will be a better cast because she looks a lot like lot more like flo jo Yeah and Tiffany does but sure someone mentioned you know after you light egan and makeup it. Won't you'll typically look a lot more. Like flo jo than she does normally so but it's it's a big thing. Yeah the my my biggest things is like the sheep because runners have a distinct spinners like sprinter's body shape especially when you're competing is one thing now right. We're like what i'm like. Fifteen years removed from the like. What twenty twenty five. Yeah so it looks to be. Oh you sprinter back in the day. When i was in school And running consistently like people. Just sprinter. They ito you just you can tell you. Look at them. Yeah we we we. We know we know what they look like. Yeah we have long distance runners. We know what they look like. We look what they look as certain bill and it's not an easy things build either now. It's not like it's not like michael jordan you know for creed is not like any of these other guys that they get bulked up hugh jackman getting ripped for over wolverine and whatever this same body type. You have to look at the muscular and lean at the fame because it's easy. It's easy to. It's easy to bulk up and get cut but right so to get this slender. Lean look where you're like. I remember one point. I was like i dunno. Timber body fighters mighty olympic runners. They're they're like at five. Yeah yeah as like a via that level right like you almost got to like be running every day starving yourself and lifting and people don't realize how much how much lifting track stars do. Yeah and so. Yeah that's going to be. I'm curious how she's gonna pull that off or she can at all. I mean she hire a consultant. She would need to call you to call One of the kersee's called justin galleon call. Jackie joyner-kersee call somebody somebody somebody from that world. Who knows what they're doing. Who can can honestly. I would call gallon honestly because despite the drugs he has lasted a long time near the top in track and field. I think he just won a race recently and he should be long gone because he's been around forever. Yeah he's been around for a long time around. What was her name. She had a whole big drug thing to recent. Yeah mary mary has been gone since that. Mike when's the last time you heard anything about mary. Jones since the drug scandal. It's been a while. But yeah. I mean i i think seaver she knows the word. She knows what it takes right. The problem is buried with was we. Couldn't the scandal like even if she was a consultant. Having marion jones connected to it would probably put a bad. You know like lola jones. Follow her instagram. She's very active on instagram. Like in the public eye. She will be a good consultant to just be on. Because she's she's done both sides like she's she's done the track thing and like recently more recently since injuries and stuff like that like she's been.

What just happened my mine anyway. I'm sure it'll come back to me. Okay while we're talking about ships and I guess in game swag. Why don't we jump into. I'm kind of jumping ahead on topics but okay into this gucci bag. Okay okay so works. Okay so jumping to our quick hit topics if you're not familiar. There's a game. Called roadblocks is popular amongst children's some older adults and unfortunately a lot of creepy people creeping on children but robots is a very popular game. It's companies so big. They really went public Trading seventy dollars. A share. Like roadblocks is huge. They're making a ton of money recently. A gucci bag sold for four thousand dollars. This was the normal gucci bag. It has no use because it is a virtual items sold within row box and it will sold for four thousand one hundred and fifteen dollars and it's not even an t. It is simply a roadblocks gucci bag. It's completely digital. There is no real life value whatsoever. And what's crazy. Is that the purse in real. Life is only three thousand four hundred dollars which is which is insane but You know like i. This doesn't surprise me and it doesn't surprise me because well a few things number one. I was watching a youtube video. And he did a whole. It was a whole forty five minute. Long segment abou- Star citizen and oh yes so if for the people that own no star citizen is a game It's been an offer for like going on at twenty years. Maybe something like that something. I don't know if it's twenty years but If you have questions about star citizen You could hit up commander zemun in genus community. He has been playing star system from the jump he was a big. He in its heyday. he was a big time streamer of star citizen. It's a game he loves and Gains put a lot of money in and people he no have put tens of thousands of dollars into star citizen and it is not officially releasing still in in beta the now after probably a decade. maybe more let's see pre-production and the game begin in twenty ten so it's been ten eleven years so i was watching the This youtube video and they were just talking about how it's like. It's this amazing game. And then they went into some of like how i started as a kick starter king campaign fully funded and does more or less about like. Will it ever be released or is this. just you know like adam all black kind of before blackout. Maybe right and so you know kind of dive in deep into the the whole star citizen thing. One of the things that came up was people who keep continuing because they were like saying like it's been ten years right and how have they not run out of money right and it is like 'cause people keep it people keep putting money into any money into it like and so they brought up this guy who like he was one of the original like backers like he put in thousands of dollars into it ended. I just recently like he pulled all his funding. What else you did that like. I don't know how to deal with them or something but like he's just like i want. I want all my money back in like i'm done with this game. Because he was one of the original like Fun you know backers or whatever that he had some kind of contract or something. I don't know they didn't get into that. But basically he just talked about how he pulled out his money out whatever he has been like thousands of dollars or whatever. Wow and so. But the thing that the point that we into his that like people spend thousands of dollars on the ships and they have no value in differ a game. That's not even been released. Officially et it's reliable and alpha Is that which isn't even crazier because not even in beta yet Which means that. It's not even it's not even close to being released because you know if you know anything about development alpha wave for the data and so you're spending thousands of people talk about these spent tens of thousands so yeah tens of thousands on these ships that had no value for game has not been completed and then they'll shifts get blown up in the can get blown up. Yeah and if you don't get insurance like he can't get it back right which is insane to me. So that's one. And then i was also listening to a podcast. Gary v inductees and he was saying how because he just recently launched his own enough and he was saying like why people like people were asking them. Reporters and stuff are asking. Why are you so invested. Because he's been preaching about since Over last year Like everybody needs to get t- everybody needs to get into crypto currency. Get into this stuff while it's still fresh in new.

I'll be the really tough licensing one. 'cause paramount are like just you know super anal about how they are sharing anything star trek raising period but If he could wing if they can. Finagle a star trek smaller one. That would be cool. A also. If they made any they always don't downside to the to the normandy or having a frigates would be that you can't be in them but if they if you could get a fighter that look like a viper for battle star galactica Can you imagine how or if you carry cool. Yeah it was really good actually though it was a good so get serious. I see why you're right recommended series. It had like Like i said it's like alternate history but it had like a like a madman. Feel to it. Okay which are the mamen feel is in like like just the way timeframe just the timeframe because it is in the sixties but It was more just the character interactions and just kind of like the pacing and everything felt very the dialogue. Was i mean. Obviously it was surrounded about around speech and stuff but the dialogue fell. Had that same kind of feel to it. So uh which wasn't a bad thing. Because i like madmen so that was cool and yeah it was it was. It was a good show. You should watch it if you have it. I have it. But i i'll try to check it out it every time i turn on my tv. I see the little trailer for it. You know on the thing for mike. This is cool and arsala joel in is in anna and i've i've liked him since Since he was on the killing Backed at salt lake. Should check it out. I wake him now at your alternate history stories intrigue me so i'll definitely check it out. It was pretty cool. Like i didn't think about that side of it. Like what would happen with the way they they spent. It was pretty cool. It was basically like what will happen if russia made it to space. I like the the first man on the moon Just just this idea like we wouldn't. We wouldn't have stopped at the moon in a sense like we would have due to some progress because we had to beat them some other way but also admitted that the cold war would probably stretch much longer than it did I don't wanna spoil everything in it. But that led to some intriguing storylines that i never would have thought about in good and bad ways but the cold war stretched to while longer path to moon landing so here. But i mean this you'll see yet watch it. I'm thinking if they keep going this stretching i mean. The co war didn't really end until the late eighties. I mean i mean people consider the berlin wall going down the end of the cold war now with eighty nine. So that's interesting okay. Okay yeah some really interesting stuff. That i was like you know. I never thought about that but it makes perfect sense that that is what will happen. Without spoiling anything like that was kinda was going through my head. As i was watching it like makes perfect sense. Why didn't think of that But yeah it was cool. It was definitely interesting and it was like it kept me engaged like like. I said i've binge watched it more. Actually i've more listen than what. Because i had the kids but i know i i watched listened as a parent. I get it but It was one of those things. Like i was like. I can't turn it off so just gonna have my my my headphones and and just set it up and just let it play through listen to it and every once in a while looking check glance over but here you hear the music. The music changer. Ten i'll be like oh look at. Okay what's interesting. And i thought it was pretty cool in a mentioned the too big country and it's a parenting hack. I guess i would call a dad. Hack is if you put on I think it's called guided guide. It closed captioning or something like that. They actually there's someone who actually reads the they read the stays direction. Almost like they'll tell you what's happening I have never heard of that. Yeah but i and i for the visually impaired Okay so it'd be like you know magic walks into the room. He's he has a sad look on his face. And then like you a regular dialogue right and he he bows its head in discouragement and walks out like like that and it's just like a radio yes like. Yeah like an audio book. Yeah i was like so cool. And i found it accidentally. I need use this for every show that i watched. Well i i. I wouldn't say that because if you are something that gets a little raw guy going. You can't be watching abc's for madman with that guided guy dialogue a little rough for most shows that i watch anyway as like this looks pretty. Well I forgot what it's called the but if you go into like the close captioning settings and you'll see in there. I think it's called guided guy to captioning. So i'm gonna have to look forward now just for entertainment purposes. Yeah i was like this is the best thing ever and then like i found it. It works on pretty wise all apple even knowing anime. I found the found it. That's cool..

"Unique. Dna my man. what's up what a what. a what jeep nation would up. What is called that was going on. is going on in the world of jigme users announcements in the nba playoffs and Things are just moving and shaking shows ending in lok is about to drop in this just through so much going on too much going on too much going on. I'm ready for. I'm ready for local drought Cause i guess because we got one division and fucking winter soldier and back to back. It feels like we've been on a marble trout and it's only been like what among something like that Yeah it feels like. It's been so long so i think it's only i mean it's probably been like a month. Yeah but it feels like it's been like half a year so i'm super excited about that And of course. The playoffs always exciting. And i'm even more excited because the lakers are out and that's always fun. We'll talk about that later. We will have a new champion. The defending champion lakers lost to the phoenix suns in six. And it's interesting because we could possibly have a first time champion for the first time in a long time. Oh no actually not that long time. 'cause the raptors one two years ago and that was their first but it's a rarity to have the first championship doesn't it's been a long time. Feffer that one. It's been a while since we've seen that. You know these these big franchises and especially to have boston and l. a. Losing in the first round like. When's the last time that happened. That has been. I wanna probably a decade maybe more. Maybe that's that is not common to have those the lakers and the celtics lose in the first round the playoffs. That is just as a rarity half right there. It's been a long time. So i'm excited about that even just just because you know it. It's it's a new like you said is a new champion. There can go any like at this point. It can go anyway right. The west is complete. Toss up any one of the four remaining teams could could go. So that's cool is exciting. It's entertaining because it gets kinda boring. It's like every year. you know it was either. Lebron earth steph justify every year. But you know they're only. I mean that only step side that only lasted five years five years a long time. You say that. I mean it is a good stretch of making the finals but throughout my lifetime just singing about it. It's generally been the same old same old in the finals. It was the celtics and the lakers through the eighties where the pistons sprinkled in a couple three straight and then the and the bulls had their six the eastern a couple in there. Then the spurs kept on you know never repeating belt constantly being the knicks. The lakers in there too in the two thousands. If you had your one anomaly with the pistons and no four sprinkled in there m in two thousand ten my Twenty eleven miami started their streak In lebron james you know. He started history in twenty eleven of his appearance between two teams. Now that i'm sorry now three teams because he made the the main supply for you before. Ask yourself but send me three teams braun. You'll have made all those appearances so it is. It is a good amount but when you look at the past forty years it's well. Yeah i mean. It's all relative. But i mean just in the last ten was the last ten years i think it's been either. I just saw stat recently. Been either staff or the brian in the playoffs and the finals in the finals right. Yeah so that's a long time for one of those two to meet the it would be. It would be ten years. It would be seven seasons because sex because last year the lakers one year before that the raptors beat the warriors now is their fifth time there and then yeah so otherwise see the mix of teams we. We want to believe some of these other teams have a shot. That's part of part of the fun. So that's good is. There is very fresh and i saw the thing that said that. This is the first finals that will not feature lebron staff Tim duncan or kobe. Sas ninety nine ninety eight because ninety. Nine had duncan robinson so since one thousand ninety eight it'll be the first one without one of those four and the thing that people forget ninety eight people our age forget often. Ninety eight was twenty two years ago right because he's ninety eight. It's like it's not that bad. They like wait twenty two years ago. Yeah twenty. twenty. Three's twenty three years ago. 'cause it's june so finals is twenty twenty three years twenty. Three years yeah. It's funny when i meet people now and they're like yeah. I was born in ninety seven. My you look. They're talking about how old they are or ninety s. I'm like oh no no. Okay wait a minute. Yeah and i. And i look at them. I thought he was crazy for me because my kids because my son instant born in ninety eight and my daughter molds ninety six so the immediately turned from adults and the children from me lay white house born in ninety eight ninety nine. I'm like you're no longer dot.

Presenting Our Lives as a Living Sacrifice
"What has been said. Before paul's writing these words romans twelve over four romans. Twelve his romans and the whole book of romans. So that matter and one is a real message of the book of well it establishes clearly that we're sinners separated from god but god loved us so much intervene descended son who died for our sins. We must turn from that. Senate put our faith in christ so effectively pulsing. He listened to this in light of what god has done for. You considering the fact that jesus has died for you and giving you salvation in light of this therefore i urge you brothers and the word that he uses airport. Ibc to king james work beseech means urged plea even back. I bet you brothers and sisters. I'm pleading with you. Present yourself to god as a living sacrifice in other words policy. Got us that saying. Hey if you wouldn't mind could you do me a favor. Gotta saying look man. I bought you with a price. I love you and this is what i want you to do. Give yourself to me. Another translation of these verses goes as follows. And i liked this. Here's what a god wants you to do. God helping you take your everyday life your ordinary life. You're sleeping eating drinking going to work and walking around life and place before god is an offering. I like that is take your everyday like here it is. Here's my career here. Are my relationships. Here are my possessions. Here is my ministry. Here is everything. I have my bank account. I give it all to you. Lord i presented to you present your body as a living sacrifice now. Generally sacrifices are dead so it's trickier to present a living sacrifice. Is i think a living sacrifice might have a tendency to crawl off the altar. Her remember the story of abraham. And isaac. When god told abraham to take his son his only son and offer him as a sacrifice and abraham obeyed as did is they made their way up to the place where he would be sacrificed and at one point. Isaac said he. Dad where's the where's the sacrifice. And abraham said god will provide himself sacrifice and so as they made their way up and late isaac alter abraham was prepared to take the life of his own son in at the last moment. of course dangerous. Stop them because it was never. God's will to take the life of abraham son but it was god's will to see abraham would commit everything until the lord. But here's an interesting thing you know. We don't realize maybe because sometimes in film and religious art isaac is portrayed as a very small boy fact of the matter is is probably a teenager is a young man probably full grown. So i'm very easily as dead was laying on the altar is it could have said you know what you're getting kind of old. Why don't we sacrifice you. But is gwen along with it in. This story is in the bible for a number of reasons. But it's a picture of god sending his son. The father loved us so much. He gave his only begotten son. But let's not forget that the sun willingly laid his life down so present yourself to god as a living sacrifice. What does that mean. It means we give our total bean bodies being jer. Total being so. We need to present our minds. Present your mind to god. What does that mean. Spill your mind with the word of god not the junk of this twisted

In Case of Emergency: The Lord's Prayer
"No mention if you could go to an elite university in every class top by the finest person in that field from all of history for instance. You could study music. Beethoven have a drama class taught by shakespeare. He taught political science by thomas. Jefferson how about a philosophy class top by cs lewis. Well we would like that because experts in the field. How about this class. Unfair taught by jesus christ. That sounds good to me. I'd be in that class. Who knows more about prayer than jesus. and so. that's what we're going to look at here. The disciples came to him. They said lord we have a question. Would you teach us how to pray. Jesus gave them this prayer. I'm going to be reading from matthew six versus nine to fourteen. And i'll tell you what i want us all to do this out loud together. This the new king. James version led three together in this manner. Therefore pray our father in heaven jala would be your name your kingdom come your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors and do not lead us into temptation but deliver us from the evil for yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever amen. But what does jesus teach us in this template for prayer. When you pray you say our father who didn't have a hollywood. Be your name your kingdom. Come your will be done unearth. It isn't even now if we wrote. The lord's prayer would probably sound like this. Our father warranted heaven. Give us this or daily bread. It's just get down to business. Here's my list. Now there's a place for petition. Nothing wrong with asking the father in heaven for what you need but notice that jesus says i take time affectively to contemplate the greatness of god now there are exceptions if you fell off a ladder and you're on your way down help we'll do okay. You can't even finish the lord. God help. But as i think about the awesomeness of god as i contemplate the greatness in bigness of god it will cause me to see my problem. Challenge need in a different light. It won't change it necessarily but it will change my perspective. I'll see it differently because listen to this. God is bigger than your problem. Whatever it is. God is bigger so my father would be name setup part beer name honored and glorified be your name. God wants us to bring our needs before him. Each and every day. God wants us to bring our needs reform. Each and every day versus eleven gives this day our daily bread. What does this mean. Well it's obvious brad. Bread was a staple of the first century diet so it includes that but bread speaks of everything it speaks of your finances. It speaks of a roof over your head. It speaks up your health just everything you need in life my daily bread and it's a reminder that everything i have in life is provided for me by god notice. It says kimmy. This team ideally bread. It doesn't say give me this month. My monthly bread or this year my yearly bread. The lord will sometimes allow things to happen in our lives. That will remind us. We need him every day. Maybe you're going through something like that right now. All of us said no you. You have this financial crisis all of a sudden you have this health scare all of a sudden you have this problem in your marriage where you have this problem with your kids or you have this other problem and it's god help that's okay. Sometimes he'll allow these things to remind us that he's the provider and we need to come to him each and every day not just asking for stuff but giving him glory for this stuff he's already given. when's the last time he just prayed. A prayer thanks our lord. Thank you for this. Thank you for providing for this. Thank you for my wife. Thank you for my husband giving them

What Makes Champagne Champagne?
"Champagne is a celebratory drink. Effervescent drink toast whip but sparkling wine was once the scourge of winemakers the famous. I don't Perignon was actually hired by a French. Winemaker to prevent wine from bubbling. So how did we get here. And what makes Champagne Champagne. Champagne is a type of sparkling wine produced in the Champagne region of France under particular circumstances. But okay hold up. What's a sparkling wine. When does it contain glitter. No it's a wine. That's carbonated meaning. It contains dissolved carbon dioxide gas which bubbles out of the liquid. Unless it's kept under pressure. Her that's why you might burp when you drink. Bubbly or beer or soda. Your stomach is pressurized. Not Pressurized enough to keep the carbon dioxide dissolved so it escapes as the gas other sparkling wines. Shouldn't technically be called Champagne and in some countries legally they cannot be called champagne though. That's really for labeling. Being in marketing folks not for dinner conversations and the Champagne region takes this seriously because it's their livelihood so what makes a real champagne a lot a lot of things. Actually it's all out in the Appalachian Region Control Regulations. And I apologize for my French. It's a set of rules created by the French French National Institute of Origin in quality which is a regulatory group in France. Meant to control the quality and branding of agricultural products like cheeses and wines for champagne to be labeled champagne. It must be produced from the growing of grapes to the processing of the wine in Champagne region and from one or a blend end of three main grape varieties chardonnay pinot noir and Pinot Mugabe. There are all kinds of rules about how you handle the grapes. How they can be planted in pruned? How much fruit can be produced her. Hector how much juice can be obtained from the fruit by weight and how it can be fermented and stored. The process of making. The wine is called the been told whole champenoise or traditional or classic. I you produce bottles of still wine. That have undergone a primary from tation that means that you take grape juice called must in the industry and add sugar and yeast to it. East of course is a microscopic organisms that among other things eats glucose and excretes carbon dioxide. And ethanol all the carbon dioxide is released from the liquid is a gas and ethanol is the alcohol in the finished wine when Ph level hits a certain point on the acid end of the scale scale. You strain out the yeast and bottle wine. So how'd you get the bubbles that's done by creating a secondary fermentation inside each bottle by adding an in a bit more yeast and sugar whereas the carbon dioxide was a byproduct primary fermentation. It's the whole point of the secondary fermentation to keep in the bottles. You seal them tightly with crown caps. The kind that beer is sealed with when the winemaker thinks it's good sparkling after a couple of months at least the caps are removed and spent yeast called. The lease is taken out in a process called riddling. Each bottle is then topped off with a bit more still wine and usually a bit more sugar to taste this. This edition is called the dosage then hefty corks are inserted and backed up by a wire cage cap hold in the now highly pressurized contents champions run about about five to seven atmospheres inside the Bottle Aka five to seven times the pressure that we experience just hanging out around sea level so being inside the bottle would be like diving fifty eighty to seventy meters underwater about one hundred sixty two two hundred and thirty feet which is deep. It's also about the same pressure as as a semi truck tire. The final product must just then be aged for at least fifteen months for a typical blended champagne or at least three years for a single vintage champagne and must have a minimum alcohol content but the very first sparkling wines probably didn't happen in the Champagne region and we're very probably accidents of unintentional secondary fermentation the first historical Oracle record a sparkling wines. Being made on purpose was in sixteen sixty two when an English scientist named Christopher Merit present a paper to the Royal Society about how Sun Wind Humans Simmons the time we're adding sugar molasses finished wine barrels to create a second fermentation and thus bubbles ciders. Were very popular in England at the time. And that's how they we're made with this wind curiosity before then sparkling wine was an accident and a dangerous accident. Legend and or history has it that the monk Dom Perignon was assigned to stop this live in the job the devils wine the temperatures in the champagne region get cold enough early enough that seller Lord. Bottled wine would stop fermenting in winter before the yeast was done. Doing its thing. And then when the weather warmed up in the spring the bottles would undergo a second fermentation Asian dramatically raising the pressure inside the bottles and making them go fizzy and then making them explode and this was actually a weird and huge and scary problem. It was common to lose four to ten percent of a seller due to bursting and bad warm friends could lead to thirty to forty percent of your bottles breaking or entire tire sellers could be lost. A single bottle going off could start a chain reaction around the seller. Workers had to wear heavy iron masks padding for protection when they'd go down a couple of technological innovations sorted this problem out glass quality and let's glass quality. The British worked out how to make glass was super hot whole fueled furnaces by sixteen twenty-three traditionally charcoal had been these safer and cooler fuel of choice but it was commonly produced from oak trees trees at the time and King James the First Navy needed oak for its ships the higher temperatures and cosmetic but useful additions of iron and manganese to the glass made the bottles. Charles much stronger. This led to that boost in the popularity of sparkling ciders and merits observance of on purpose sparkling wines by sixteen sixty to the wire cap that hooks under the bottles lipid secures. The Cork wouldn't come along until eighteen. Forty four until then. corks were held in with tied string to varying effect the invention of the riddling process in the early eighteen hundreds by the cliquot champagne house also made sparkling wines quicker easier and thus less expensive to produce as for why we toast with it. That's a little trickier but it has to do with war. Because of the Champagne region location it seen a lot of battles in. Its time the tradition of French kings being coordinated in the Champagne region started after a battle there in the fifth century. C E end. The tradition of celebrating champagnes wines grew from there alongside the science audience. That made the drink

5 Minutes in Church History
Scriptorium: John Bunyan & Persecution
"Welcome back to another episode five minutes in Church history on this episode. We're wrapping up our great time here at the Van encamping collection and the script Him here in Orlando Florida and we are standing in a jail cell while it's a replica of jail cell and and it is a jail cell for someone who is very crucial one of those towering figures in church history. None other than John Bunyan and here in this room that this may be like bunions jail cell complete with a very primitive bed or a number of artifacts and books related to John Bunyan. I there is an early edition of Pilgrim's progress with an engraving. It's interesting that these early editions of Pilgrim's progress progress were so read. They were just literally devoured by people as they passed from hand to hand and so copies. Just don't exist. They we're literally read out of existence as people just gobbled up this beautiful taxed that so well portrays vividly portrays the the pilgrimage of the Christian life. Well so here there's a would fragment from the L.. Stowe house there is a key to the Bedford furred prison and actual key from the Bedford. Prison reminds me of that scene in. Pilgrim's progress where Christian is just so despondent despondent and they're in the castle of giant despair. And they're locked deep deep down in dungeon and they're just absolutely despondent and then all of a sudden Christian remembers that he is a key and he reaches into the folds of his cloak and he pulls out the key of promise anti he with a shaking hand tries it in the lock and it opens the door and they come to another lock and opens that lock in another gate and it opens that lock and they escape and what a beautiful portrayal is of the promise. That is God's word and that's quite a key. Maybe bunion had that particular key in mind. When he wrote his text? You know Bunyan wrote other books. Right beyond the pilgrim's progress and one of them in true bunion scholars. Say that they. I think it's a better book than Pilgrim's progress. It's the Holy War and here too is a copy of the Holy War from sixteen eighty. Two and Bunion also knew a thing or two about suffering. Didn't he lost his first wife is oldest daughter was born blind and also he himself himself suffered in prison and saw the death of friends and also just personally suffered so in sixteen eighty four. He published advice to sufferers. And here. In this bunion room there is a copy of that as well. So all of these testament to the author John Bunyan and his wonderful classic. The pilgrim's progress all of that is here and the script Oria in Orlando well continuing our journey through bibles and texts related to the reformation. There is Fox's acts and monuments since I'm looking at a fifteen ninety six edition of course this book. Chronicles the MARTYRDOMS. Most of them happening under bloody Mary. Harry but Fox begins his story actually back. In the days of the apostles as the New Testament was coming to a close and Fox records forged the many centuries of martyrdoms and especially those martyrdoms related to the British reformation and next to it is a Bible. That is a stirring testament to one of those martyrdoms. It's in that great English tradition of Bible translations ends than that line from wickliffe. All the way up to King James. It's a Matthew's Bible at dates to fifteen thirty seven. It is opened the two pages and John and the reason it's open to pages and John is that they're on those pages. There's actually the blood stains means of a martyr of the British

Harold Bloom: The Shadow of a Great Rock: A Literary Appreciation of the King James Bible
"You know recently Harold Bloom died he was the figure of extrordinary controversy Oko Zinder other circumstances is he would have been just another professor but he was the professor who was defending the Western canon as he quoted which meant that he was talking about Shakespeare and Milton and of course his great of Shelley he studied how these writers in the Canon influenced each other he wrote a book called the Gang Society of influence he really became the writer of our time talking out that tradition now let's acknowledge that tradition is rarely taught in the university the way it was in the generation of Herald I had the pleasure and I would say the honor of talking to her world boom at his own apartment in New York I will say that I disagreed with him about many things things when we aired these interviews people wrote in Yes harold bloom was an elitist yes he was but we should have one of everything and there are leaders and there are populous and there are ever very kind of response that you can have two good richer this is harold boom from our conversation on bookworm unlike his book the Anatomy of influence literature is a way of life which seems a settled and masterful book the shadow of a great rock is audacious and I would like to say even dangerous which tells us that a great mind doesn't settle into somnolence or eternity it's always at work work and always making trouble this is the nature of the mind Harold Bloom my wife would appreciate how do you how do you feel you've spoken of the many controversies you've causes mentioned some of them in this book it's never going to see aw both well hated and well loved and particularly with I have to say about the New Testament here has already started Israel fury I've got nasty email nasty letters and even a couple of nasty anonymous phone calls you say that the ten handle translation of the old the New Testament is the breakthrough in Boston since they burned I mean he's both a great model a great writer and the Grand Bigot with that it's not full they were all bigots of goals they would all I'm very glad to see you and myself crucified angry anti-semites but it went with the territory as it were Tindale was martyred burned alive before he could finish his translation of what he called the Old Testament as you will notice throughout this look the shadow of a great rock I insist upon referring to it as the original testament Tomahawk the Hebrew Bible and what is called the New Testament by its proper name the belated testament which is also beginning to get into the usual difficulties but that's fun Tindale was burned alive before he could translate the prophets and most of the great writings and that's how a loss because tremendous writer in every way you compare to Shakespeare and Milton I would say that the greatest writer certain in English paps in any language I'm able to read is of course we shakespeare indeed have now reached a point where I've totally infuriated but I like doing that of course with them the horrible shakespeare establishment these dryers dust moldy fix calls by simply saying there is no God but God his name is William Shakes sure of course after Shakespeare you have to put chaucer stunning extraordinary writer without really Shakespeare did not have been possible then tindale and Milton I would say of almost equal imminence the English novel sales of Daniel Defoe and John Bunyan at its very beginning wouldn't have been possible without Tindale he was not a lyrical writer but a very great narrative genius I of course New Testament which was complete is the entire basis if the King James New Testament and is major writing is largely preserved in the Geneva Bible and subsequently in the King James Bible and various scholars who have said that it would be very difficult to think of the style of certain moments in King Lear without the Tim Daly an element in the Geneva Bible our I think basically justified you say that the two greatest works in the English language are composed really within a decade need
