"Is the real deal. Now we'll move onto the big racist weekend the the race that i think everyone will be turning tuning into If you're watching racing this weekend. This is the racist. You're looking out for a cigarette. Once gar mile the final upgrade one on the east coast for older male horses and this race does bring together the typical group. We would expect to see from a post breeders cup december grade one. We've got performer. A horse who if you listen to the show enough that you know how high both of us had been on performer. Basically all year You know we're not going to rehash everything that we've already said about perform. But we really do like him a both of us. You also do have another horse. That is coming off of a very long layoff king guillermo who you know we we have also really liked guillermo in the past but the issue at least from my perspective with guillermo is the lay off and while if he had had a start between the arkansas derby and this race i think he would be a very very big threat to win this but i just don't know how much the layoff is going to affect him. I'm gonna reiterate something. I said in the youtube preview. For this i take him at a four-month layoff in the kentucky derby because i had already seen him come back in winter graded stakes race off before monthly off. There's no There's precedent with him for seven months. And i said this specifically seven months is a lot more different than four months and for that reason. I couldn't really justify taking guillermo clear. So alternately went with performer. Really do think he is a talented a four year old. It's disappointing that we haven't really gotten to see much of him as a four year old up until that last start at belmont in hopefully if all goes well we will see him in this race so performer for me. One thing. i will say that this isn't a race where you can find a lot of value Because it really is that. The top. Four in the talent inconsistency department to perform forensic fire king guillermo in true timber not in order of their overall talent stuck going going off the four of them of those for the one. I would use timber. But i did try to find some kind of value underneath necessary. So i look to snapper sinclair a horse. Who has had some of his inconsistencies but when he has run races at this distance specifically even going back to the breeders cup dirt mile he did turn in a good fourth-place finish in that he's had some good runs this year. That specifically going back to very early in the year at oaklawn couple seconds enlisted races and a third and the razorback is coming out of a good third in an allowance churchill on november fifth. So i think he's a horse. It i threw in for third. And if you're looking for anyone outside of the top four. That i mentioned he would probably be the one. I would have the most confidence in.

"Saturday. What? A Saturday. It is what it is what it is what it is. Tuck Ee Derby Uh, goes off later on this afternoon. There've been a couple of scratches always found that an interesting term when it comes to the Kentucky Derby Finnic, the fierce Who had I believe the ones with one whole finnic the fears of 50 to 1 shot. Ah was scratched early in the week and then King Guillermo Coming out of the six hole a 20 to 1 shot scratched. And so now, this field has been whittled down to 16 16 horses. And the 2020 Kentucky Derby. Who knows more about racing than my next guests. Well, I will tell you and I will tell you in one word. Nobody. He is a legend. He is somebody that has seen it all and done most of it twice. When it comes to the sport of kings. He is Jeff Green Hill. Now, let me just tell you before we bring Jeff on Hear what Jeff has accomplished this week. It's unbelievable. This week, Jeff saddled His 606 100. Career win. 600 horses trained by Jeff Green Hill have gone to the winner circle. That is no small trick. And along the backstretch of both Belterra Park and Turfway Park and Churchill Downs and Thistle Downs and any other downs. You want to mention When you name Jeff Green Hill, there are hushed tones that say. You mean the legend And the answer is? Yes. And he joins us right now. Here on 700 wlw. Jeff Greenhill. How are you on this glorious Saturday? It is a glorious Saturday, Campbell every day when I will be a footnote. Let me just tell you this. I know what I've been told by the wags by the rail birds by everybody that I see When I go to these tracks, they always say the same thing. Jeff Green Hill. You know, Jeff, I said, Of course I know Jeff, you are legend. You This is a man. Who turned his back on his chosen profession. He was hey, went to school at all Burn. He went to pharmacology school. He was about to develop Ah, vaccine for the cove in 19 virus, And he said no. And this was back like in 1997. He already saw the Cobain 19 coming. He said no. I want to go in a horse training. All of that's true, of course, right? Something like that. It was Kimble clearing clearing, but all right, you know, you want to get down to basics here, Okay. First of all, it was a large field. It was 18 horses. It's been whittled down to 16 because of scratches. But I'm looking at, you know, like everybody I'm looking at. It is the law that won the Preakness. I can't believe we're talking about the Preakness before the Kentucky Derby, But I'm looking at Barclay tags. Horst is the law 3 to 5 shot. And the favorite, obviously, But Jeff is you Well know the favorite has on Lee won the Derby about a third of this time. Why should we believe that The odds are in his little his favorite. Five favorite and It's one of the papers just going around in circle. The cross is made. Calls about the risks for some eligible for not allowing the properties you have. They have not done what he has done. He has done everything. The one playing. His record was his loss of churches, multitrack. He had trouble through the only became some people saying The loss of Churchill. Another man He's doing that later. Well, it's a beautiful day at Churchill. There's It's just like here in the Greater Cincinnati area. It's sunny. A shame. No Spectators will be there. But it is. The law is also on a little bit of a streak here, right? I mean, he's he's He's ripped off several races in a row, right? Melman. And the survivors from the normally room Well, I mean, I was in the Belmont. I'm here for the therapy. And I don't know. Borrow of land from Jill. Don't see in the boys were alone. I've never seen a Derby. That has as many longshots as this. This dirty has. It's a field of 30 and 52 ones. With a 15 to 1 in 1000. Words worked in there and a 21 night traffic worked in there in a 5 to 1 on her AP worked in there and authentic. I think the Bob Baffert horse is 8 to 1. There are so many horses here. Arlo. If you start to fall. I mean, one certainly belongs to one third of all, occasionally just out, quote, withdraw before logical horses. All 15 16 17 18 fallout there are of them has been totally discount. I'm just Yeah, I'm just I'm just wondering, Is it just Is it a lousy isn't a lousy field, or is it just because his law is such a great horse? What I mean seriously, some of these major Fred 50 to 1. That horse could be running on Monday to try and finish this race. Is it? Is it a bad field? Or is it just because of you? Here's the reason many horses Because you've got a 3 to 5 shot. His long or not in a race, though, has become 15. Lawrence, or some of them want to become Thursday horns. Five. So all the other odds just I think it's a weak field of the outside four horses. With a 3 to 5 shot in there means the resources belong right? Just he's an absolute standouts. How does a trainer and your obviously you're well, get into what you did this week, which I find absolutely amazing. But how does a trainer What? Someone with the gravitas of Todd Pletcher, For example. How does he go to the guy that owns his horse, which is money moves. And say that is owner Enter the Kentucky Derby..

"All right. Jody Delhi is going to give us the odds on the Kentucky Derby race. Of course we've heard about is the law. Everybody's liked his. The law is the law. Well, there are other horses in the race. Right, Jody? That's right. Says the law is 45. This is current odds right now. They just opened the windows this morning. Ah, 25 minutes ago. This is current odds. Tis a law fortified. And then there is a pretty good distance between him and the next horses. And the next course is there's actually a pretty good distance of who are a pretty good racer. Who's the second choice right now. It would be Santa Anita Derby winner Honor AP at 8 to 1 Authentic, though, is 9 to 1. That's Bob Baffert horse who won the Haskell Tendo one Bob Baffert horse 1000 words Who won the shared beliefs. So you've got those horses? Ahh, right there. All four vying for second choice in the Derby. Let's run from the inside, post position out. We'll give you all of the odds here. A CZ. We go through it finish the fierce. The number one horse, The one eyed gilding has been scratched. He is not running in the race number two Max player, Ricardo Santana Jr. The jockey, Steve asked. Musa is the trainer Max player. Is down. 18 Toe one. He was a morning line. 30 to 1. He's back. He's been bet. Pretty good. So far enforceable. Adam. The skits of the jockey Mark Cassie is the trainer 23 to 1 down a little bit from 30 to 1 in the morning line. Storm. The court who was the breeder's Cup juvenile champion last year, Julien Les Peru is the jockey Peter Kurten is the trainer 26 to 1, Major fed James Graham and Greg fully 34 to 1. They were 50 to 1 in the morning line. Number six. King Guillermo has been scratched. Money moves. This is the one that is interesting to me. Money moves from Todd Pletcher, making just his fourth career start. Was a 32 1 in the morning line and is getting bet. Heavy. Todd Pletcher's Horse Down 15 to 1 South Bend. I don't think all the Notre Dame Ah money has come in yet on South Been 34 to 1, Tyler Gaffney, Leone and Belmont trainer. Mr Big News. Gabriel Sias trainer Brett Calhoun 47 to 1 number 10,000 words as we said 10 to 1. Number 11 Necker Island, who, by the way will have his blinkers off, so he's been running with blinkers on in his last few races. He will not wear blinkers today 51 to 1 Miguel Mania and Chris Hartman is the trainer. Soul a Valon Day. Patrick being cone Lucas Panici is the jockey Volonte 29 to 1 attachment, Right, Dale? Romans 49 the one I thought that he would actually get a bet down. I'm a little surprised that that one winning surprise winning impression is no surprise. He is 52 to 1, the longest shot on the board. Dallas Stuart and Joe Rocco. In the irons, New York traffic 15 to 1, Paco Lopez and Saffy Joseph is Ah Ah, actually, I think he's gonna end up being like the third or fourth choice when it's all said and done. Probably a little bit of a buzz horse here out here among the horseman Honore P. 8 to 1 in the 16 post position with Mike Smith. John Sheriff's is the trainer. Tis the law 4 to 5, Manny Franco and Barclay Tagg. An authentic on the outside Bob Baffert 9 to 1 John Velazquez in the iron, So there's your Kentucky Derby odds for right now and again betting is open. And we've got a bunch of our hot We have 30 minutes to the first post 31 minutes right now to the first post long time before we get to the Kentucky Derby, So a lot of money will be bet on there, Terry.

"Our expert handicapper. He's the galloping gent at Hawthorne, Jim on Twitter, and we've got a Kentucky Derby to preview Jim Miller joins us now on a journey. What's up, guys? I mean, come on. It is. It's the first Saturday in September's traditional Derby weekend, right? I mean, it's a weird year this year, but I'll tell you, the Derby is this weekend. It's kind of cool, leading into the start of the NFL season next week in that completely different field the first Saturday in September from what you would have seen the first Saturday in May. Field is a little bit smaller. How does that affect things for tomorrow? Comet actually benefits a couple of horses a little bit weird to scratch is actually out of the field of 18. 1 finished affairs is out the six King Guillermo's also there's only 16 in the gate, and here's the thing about it. It benefits the outside horses. But it also takes away a little bit of a disadvantage for those that have too close from off the pace because they don't have as much traffic tohave to work through. So we'll see what happens with the 16 horse field. I think the one thing you see this year more than any other year is there is a huge disparity and talent. There's a few horses that really have a shot. There's a lot of horses that don't seem to have any chance at all. But regardless, there are ways to make money in the race. Well, you know, I was thinking about that. You said that last week about the shortage of horses, and I didn't know the rules. For what I did is I live out in the sticks now is looking for a horse that was three years old. And then I was going to enter him in the Kentucky Derby and run him. Is there some sort of certain can I can I enter any horse if it's three years old, if you if you have a shortage of horses Somebody wants to raise even a floors in the Kentucky Derby. Can they do that? As long as you were Triple Crown nominated? You could And that was the key thing, but they did offer so you lived well, but Jimmy these horses, some of them they go other foreign one, or they have raised five horses five times. How are they? Triple Crown nominated? What thing Looking up and down the thing When you think you have a decent horse early on, it's really recall well bred. Then you nominate the horse. So think about this. The Kentucky Derby nominations closed the third week of January. There were 369 horses nominated to the Derby. So there many people thought Hey, I might have a chance to make the Kentucky Derby. Now. At that point, they figured it was going to be the first Saturday in May. But here's the thing to Mike. And you mentioned that because there's this Derby point system Well, initially, the only way you could get in with having a certain amount of points that the field overfilled well. This year is a year where the field did it over Phil. Because of that, you've got a horse like money moves. Who's in the Derby? Three lifetimes starts has never run aside from one maiden race into optional claiming allowance races of the sources in the Kentucky Derby. Wow. So, Jimmy, does that mean that this looked like the bombers are rare anyway? I guess like last year we got it right with countries. We've seen mine that bird Giacomo like It happens, but is the quality of horse that much better? So I guess I'm asking like is it even Maura unlikely in this year? Because maybe the quality of horses and is good that we see like a real bomber win this thing. I think so Only for the fact that when you look at the Kentucky Derby, the first Saturday that you have all these preparations that are great won races from around the country, and all these prep races are geared up toward the Kentucky Derby. So everybody's basically sitting on top notch efforts for weeks out from the Derby, and you're looking at a bunch of horses that looked really good. Now you look up and down the field. You got some horses that haven't raised such July You got some horses that spend the first week of August We got horses that just have been off for some time leading into the spot. So there's not that traditional lead up to the Kentucky Derby. And really, it kind of falls in the hands of the trainer to gear this horse up, get him ready properly placed those races. And the thing is in this race this year, the guy who's done it. The best from the start is Barclay Tagg, and he's got the 3 to 5 favorite and physical law. But this is a horse who has been trained this way from the start. I think everything actually falls perfectly in line for him for the Derby. All right. So what do we like for tomorrow? Give us the skinny here, Jim. All right, So here's the thing. The law's going to win the Derby. Now there's not going to be any value there with the horse if you bet him to win, so you have to find who to hook it up within your gimmicks. But here's the thing. Trainer Bob Baffert has two horses in this race. He's got the 10,000 words. He has the 18 authentic. And if you look up and down the field guys, the one thing the Derby is missing a little bit is early speed. Nick. The fair's coming out from the inside takes a little speed awaken Guillermo coming off the sixth hole takes a little speed away, and the fastest horse in the race is actually authentic on the far outside, so I'll use the 18 authentic in the mix with the 17 is the law and you have to use the other horse, the 10,000 words in this race as well Floor Andrew's gonna have the source right behind the pace. So the way I'm gonna play the race, guys, I'm going to box exact those in box trifecta with the 10, 17 and 18. Maybe play for a little bit more. Maybe play a $5 box a $10 box something along those lines. But those air three horses that have really fought the fight that come from good Barnes. And these are the horses that I think that the right trip in the Kentucky Derby I love it, Jimmy. Happy wagering. We'll talk to you next week. You gotta boys. Let's make some money. Thanks, buddy. Great break down there for the 145th running in the run for the roses from Jim Miller. I come from a good barn. I love it driving by your house. Come from a good bar Come from a very good bargain. Yeah, I thought I'd come from a good buyer. Hey, in my actual bedroom. I tell you if you have you been down to Kentucky to see some of those stables like through horse country, Mike, Have you ever been down there? No, but I see playing out here. Why? Why I live up in the Huntley area. I'd sure they're out here. Marengo. Everything. It's beautiful. You got a donkey. Forces. You know, Mike, I'm gonna tell you actually heard I'd get off my get off my property, You know, I mean, it's still It's still crazy out there, but it really is.

"This derby as we know who these sources are. We tend maybe not to overthink but sort of see if any of those horses that can level off and I don't really know what I'm talking about talking circles, Travis That's not me. That's the that's the snapshot. We spring wandering you just wonder can you get ten furlongs Is there there? Can he rate? Can He do this? Can you do that were a lot of those questions have been answered up to now because the entire season has sort of wandered on like truly word of the questions we have this weekend. What's the pace of the race and contest adapt to him I? Think there's one horse though that I don't know if you've. Seen as best and that's honorary repeat he's sort of has been handled in a way that they've been targeting the Kentucky Derby all along. It felt like just anecdotally that the delayed derby fit into their plans a little bit more they had more time to work with the Horse. The shared belief was a true prep. That is a horse that I. Don't think we've seen his best yet and I think that's one of the added entries of this to. And the Of the two scenarios of. Of. The horses that weren't around and wouldn't have been around for. May. Do we do we want. The late developers or do we want the ones? The of that have maybe had some ups and downs thousand words and I would go I the the. To some degree, the suggestion to. That that he didn't move forward from two because won that. Bob. Lewis I was there present the trophy and He. He. Essentially. Blew a tire at oaklawn the trip to Oaklawn if they have to do it over again was the setback Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy Bell. Too. Many. said that Jimmy Barnes. said that I asked him Saratoga. Travers weekend. and. Or whatever the weekend was that he won the that he that he won the shared belief because it happened minutes before. strivers week there was drivers weekend whenever we who can. Nothing's nothing's where it was supposed to be. And I said, you know what do you think is he goes oh, he's back. He said he's fine. He said the trip to oaklawn he said it it. It was a complete from every from every angle it was a disaster and took him. He said he's he took them time to get you know recover from from that for whatever whatever went into it. So I he was my he was my winter horse. And I. Certainly. Going to use them for Sanity Insurance there. There's no doubt. Travis, for you this group of. Seventeen. Power, the power, the Silks House, the memory portion this in terms of getting familiar you know knock on wood. This is so much easier than a year like last year we had game winner maximum security in war of will all in pain common common-law enraged taty look in the same on the track says it's a better group in that regard of Newark Traffic Authentic both in dark colors makes an interesting but they've got different cavs different looking horse anyway. So it's you know. I'm hopeful that we have a derby where there's not a lot of movement from the back and we we sort of see a moderate pace, an type trip that will sue horses like Tis, law, an honor eight p just right off the pace and I think the question is whether or not a horse I got Dick and get loose on the lead and just prepared for all those sorts of scenarios. It's it's a fun group to call the fun. The names are fun. You you do something and actually Nick Tamra typically when I'm here for the full two weeks nick and I do the Derby. quadrants, we break the field into groups of five You know the for who's going to be the. Gas Basically, who were the first five over the second or the third five and the and the and? For essentially the opening quarter and you do something similar for obviously not just for handicapping purposes but for the visual visualization about how the race is probably going to unfold. How has the I asked I asked that in Scott the same question how has the departure of art collector and then King Guillermo yesterday afternoon both vanguard types how has it changed both of your? Expectations of the pace and you know who is the most? Who's most I tell you this is the complexion of the pace changed quite a bit over the past week I think right now there are two horses that are likely to be on or near the League New York traffic is one an authentic is the other and I th- The way this derby is run I. Think is all in the hands of John. Alaska's in the opening furlong of the race he's breaking from the outside. So we asked to get position Johnny is not an overly aggressive writer, but this is a fast horse and he needs to get that position and go I think. There's a decent I didn't think it was going to happen before now there's a pretty decent chance that when they hit the backstretch authentic in front and maybe New York traffic is left right onto him. Contests lost three white third other than that. There's not a lot of speed maybe storm quarterly insider does a little a little bit of gas but again, he's not he's not a twenty to forty five type force. You know he's he's route speed. So I really don't think they're going to be moving that fast and and you know with the the new starting gate authentic not as far out. So it's not as much of a need to SORT OF PANIC And and Danza candy did a back. So I I, I don't think we're going to see a fast pace at all unexpecting in my notes I wrote down expect something in the high forty six's potentially even low forty-sevens for an opening half. In that's what after the scratch King Guillermo It was sort of thinking how to gamble on this because with the supers and now ten cents super this we.

"Is adapting and. Learning from your mistakes and that's what I'm trying to do here. he certainly seems like. Much, the best and the outside draws much better for him than the inside giving my answer to your question and we don't have to worry about a sloppy track. So I'm not even gonNA. Think about blaming that or not because it shouldn't come up. Saturday. Before we let you go ahead. I got a real fun one here for you. So we have eighteen at it's a it's a very strange morning line compared to other derby years because we have such a big favorite we have so many longshots in fact. To my count, there are six horses. In fact, seven horses. I apologize that are laid at fifty to one on the morning line. So my my two part question is of the longshots who do you think is the most likely to take money and maybe end up being the third or fourth choice in the race and who do you think will be longest shot in the field. Questions you know a week ago I would affect King Guillermo would have sort of been the surprise How is the source twelve? The ones I don't know if he's trained as well lately to to get there and maybe it was just sort of he was new and shiny when he was a church Oh. So He's the horse everyone was talking about I think enforceable sorta taken on the mantle this week of a horse that's caught a lot of people's eyes and I would say him I. Don't know if you know it'll be a my boy jack situation like how's the eight to one but I I could see him in the teams just just based on the bus. So to speak the longest shaw on the board should be winning impression but between the Dallas, Stuart Oh. You can crash the Party and West Point which definitely likes to bet I.

"Derby you're going to have a twenty horse field and there's always a lot of traffic. There's always a lot of bumping crazy things happened in the derby. That's why it's kind of insane to take short price I. Mean if you look at what happened last year is a good example maximum security who won the race he? He was the favorite in the race at nine to two. He crossed the wire first but then he got taken down for interference in the horse that came in suck. It was made official winner that was a horse named country house at odds of sixty five. To. One. So and then you got back in two thousand nine, you gotta fifty to one shot named mine that bird winning the Kentucky Derby I'm not saying don't play the perfect I mean if you're dead set onto the law and you just think this horse is it he's unbeatable. He's the second coming of Secretariat and you're just say, Hey, the only way to make money is to put a couple of horses with him. Then go for personally I think the strategy in here's to try to beat them 'cause taking on a per or try in the Kentucky Derby is just so difficult. I've never heard it called a perfect is the same thing as an exact just without the the box. So you've got an exact, which is you bet the one two and then an exact boxes it's a one to one either way they can come in first or second second or first. So I've never heard a perfecta being said. Oppressed rectors exact. Same as an exact live down in Florida and that's a term that is thrown around the dogs a lot. But did you hear? To and you made a good point like for instance that you wanted to the, let's say our collector into the law you could do an exact a box. So that way if our collector beat him, you would still win the bet. So let's say the law drew post one art collector draw post to you would go to the window and you would say, for instance I, WanNa play a dollar exact a box one. That would be a two dollar bet because you're at a dollar one to a dollar to one in, it could come in either way and you would still win now will they take twenty five cent boxes I don't think so. Now I think they do a fifty cent try though for instance. So here's a bet for you what say, okay I'm just going to throw them hopefully we can talk about this source because I like him. Here's an angle. You could bet they're going to run a fifty cent TRIFECTA in the Kentucky. Derby. So you could do it's called a trifecta key meaning. If you like to the law to win the race, you would put him on top and then below there you would box three other horses say you wanted to put art collector a horse named Cara Cara and another horse name King Guillermo, and you could say now to the law he has to win but those other three horses they have to fill in second and third place and that would only be a three dollar..

"Should be get one of these closer up for third maybe second horse like enforceable like Phoenix fears and we've seen that over and over again. Especially, you're GONNA chalk derbies. We can get a horse like commanding curve for second and you know maybe winning impression again for Dallas Newark could do something like that but I think that's the only way you're gonNA make money within race because I just don't see scenario where is the law or collector don't run first or second particularly the love I think you're better off trying to make money underneath. And I think that's I think that's exactly how a lot of people. have been thinking about this for months I mean it. It's almost it's almost one of the one of the elements of of watching these summer preps and trying to figure out who is emerging at the right time and you know the there's no shortage of horses that have kind of bobbled the surface then disappeared you know to in particular. that. That come into this really three if you throw in. So Volante as well. You know who? Who seems to have been kind of Questionable here for weeks on end made his first tour of the plant this morning with a pony having arrived yesterday with Andy being gone. But the two that I was going to mention Joe are a personal favourite in thousand words who looked like he was left on the side of the highway. And then got down to del Mar and has reinvigorated had another tremendous work over the weekend the final effort getting ready for the trip here and then there's this mystery of King Guillermo who was gonNA come into this off of a hundred and twenty day break it. It's if this was if this was derby week in May and you had a horse that had run since January, you would just say, okay, this is a toss but. Then you watch his works and You know you see him physically and you think. I. Can I possibly use oars like this in this setting? I mean it's amazing like. I.

"His odds. The there odds and then Tis the laws odds if he kinda follows a Mac kind of footstep. They're better than what they should be. That's what I was just about to say like it what if you? If you're sitting there and stare at five the two you know down here, bet the world if you're. Tenure like sitting there trying to say, okay why love him but then I do I play this try whenever and you're like wait we'll just stop thinking that way interest panelist shit out on on on top because why mess around with WHO has to get second third because let's be honest. It's probably more than good chance that honorary p and art collector one of two don't show up at all. And so someone crazy is gonNA, come up under second second and third and or don't worry about it just pound. Would justify was sitting there five or to whatever I bet a lot on him to win. Yeah. Because and that's was five the two. And I didn't have to worry about who came underneath. The to me that's the way you look at this raised as long as it's if he's if he's sitting there. Under. Two to one or something I think you gotta be careful. So two points that just came in on the comments, will he run on the Churchill Service? I don't think that'll be a problem but here's the thing if it sloppy that now that is a question work for him I think people will look at that to churchill loss and say, well, maybe he doesn't like Churchill there was a lot of things that happened in that race you know. He just didn't run very well he was inside horses which could be factor for sure but I don't think it was the surface per se but but rain that could be a factor maybe he hates the slot that could be the one. Yeah we don't. We don't own and they rains all the time and Kentucky on Kentucky Derby Day although this is a lot different, not the first Saturday may so we'll see but yeah, I mean academically play a factor. Okay. So you you mentioned for another question you mentioned. Playing horse that maybe with him on top and you have decided yet don't know. But the question would be like, who are you most interested in right now besides his law honor ap art collector like. That is kind of like. Starting to trend up a little bit for you. You're thinking okay. Maybe this is the Horse I might throw in on top just in case. So I'm circling horses four and five here on our chart, which is King Guillermo and Car Caro. King Guillermo I think is going to be the way over hyped tour. So that's what I'm not gonNA use and I think a lot of people that's they're going to be there answer not for me give me Car Caro I really think the source is pretty good and I. Think if he runs the same race, he ran in the travers I think he's got a shot to hit the board here at a decent price. That's one on definitely GONNA use. And I think like a In Y traffic if everybody Canada says the hell with it I think he could get third. You know I don't think he can hit the exact but I think he can get third. So those are the two kind of off the wall. Horses I'm looking at I don't lie. You know a lot of these horses I think you can throw them out I. Really don't think you're gonNA see something like dumb like normal 'cause I, just think they're bad and I I think the cream gonNA. Rise to the top and we have a lot of deep deep deep closers. Never pans out especially talking about shitty horses. against good horses like art collector antisne law honor. AP, we'll be at shouldn't be as far back. I think thousand words could could be can make a little out of the plate thousand words authentic. A thousand words is sneaky because he will get the distance just. Is he any good Kenny? Concord for third I think he probably could more could he get out and hold on for third because the closers behind him? He's actually yeah. So yeah, I definitely think he's he's one Kierra been off too long I totally agree and he though he and that's why you're saying this and why he's GonNa, take a lot of attention. He's the Wiseguy was wise guy he looks awesome on the track every time he's on the track their raving about how good he looks and what he's doing and You name it like this force is going to get attacked and the fact that the last time and oh, by the way got second last time we saw him to the doll doll is. All would one this rate you know whatever? So it's like. Why did you wait? It's been. So literally, I think you said on the why we hate your. Co. It was a thing. He wanted he he want to raise and I. think that's a fair a fair way to say. Like. How do you even know what he's GonNa do I have no idea what we'll do but I don't think I guess I should put I one thing I don't think he'll do and that's been excited for damn sure. Yeah. He I think he's a toss to. Okay. So this is a question I actually have not asked you and I am personally interested to know. Because you and I both had some heavy heavy opinions coming into the Kentucky Derby in years past. So how does your confidence in Tis? The law compared to say those years with on with the American Pharaoh or justify two of our biggest win beds of our lives we're on on American Pharaoh and justifying the Derby's nonetheless. So where do you stay like how does his laws confidence rating compared to those years? I'd say he's I'm second most confident out of. All A feral I was the most confident and then I would say Tisza law second and justify third The only reason with justify really lightly race had to beat that cursive. Apollo. That was kind enough to be like, yeah he could go out there and you know in throw a clunker I'm not going to be shot at about halfway through the race he thought. We not GONNA work. I've lost a ton of money. This is going to be really bad and somehow on what we know how but. But yeah, he he. He was a little scarier of I. I don't know if I'll ever be as confident as I was and that American Derby like I already written that office like, okay. How can we win the Belmont? I two races already one for American Pharaoh so I couldn't say I'm. Tisza laws like am that confidence level but I'm pretty confident for a number of factors. He's damned good and these other workers have shown that they are yeah I mean. I feel I. I've probably. AP. AP's definitely the one I. mean he was the one I felt most confident in which funny worse race probably of his career in but he was. Justified was out by his I. Just I just don't see how this long frankly is gonNA lose I just don't justify had a lot of competition I. thought that year to that could beat him. Were Tisza Lawn just doesn't I'm the fair by federal had good competition too. Yeah. But better than justify you then but. You know I was. Lie. But I mean obviously with just fire is like out of nowhere like just had an uneven again. Of course Chris Paul like you mentioned I mean there's a lot of stuff against them despite how good he looked whereas Tis law has got the foundation and he's been running and he's been winning and he's you know what I mean the e prepped at a mountain quarter. which is just unheard of obviously going into the Kentucky Derby Yeah anything else far as like the way you're looking at the Derby I against. When it comes to the multi, which is a good segue into kind of the undercard. But when it comes to the multi I mean, do you think the strategy here is to.

Next thing I knew the more I look, the more intriguing it got so I ended up. There we go. That's Friday I ended up printing. the Friday as well all right. Here's Saturday let's. Move to this and and this card I. You know obviously will be. Involved in the cross country pick five which uses three races from Churchill in two from Belmont, but even early on. Let's talk about that Fifth Race Marty where you've got An important three year old group. You're going a mile and a sixteenth and I suppose this is something of an audition for bluegrass candidates. You would take It's race five, three, ten eastern. It's a three other, an or to other Dan. Essentially never want three. then only drew five three in a row of short field, which has not been par for the course here. Obviously this meet with all the big fields but Shinnik the fierce who is on our Derby whites top twenty, and by the way we had a lot of changes in the Derby Watch this week with the defections of. Max, field and wells by you and even last week. We seems like ages ago, but that's when Charlton went out with last Saturday. and then shoot. He dropped off with his poor performance in the Santa these Derby, so we got four new shooters on Jay credit or not as On. Our Derby Watch Finnick the fierce US number five in this field five. apparently prepping for the bluegrass it's it's no easy spot here. Kinda like. It's going to be fourteenth, so it'd be four weeks of the BLUEGRASS. Pretty Nice prepped for that. Stop for a minute on we'll. We'll go to art collector in a second, but finished the fierce. This is a benefit to him. Being drawn outside. He's he's had. The occasions where he's drawn inside, and both in that allowance at Oaklawn, and when he was elevated to first, and then in the Arkansas, Derby, where he ran a very solid third behind the doll and King Guillermo and either the the situation for him to not have a left I. Mean to be drawn inside. It's a real challenge, so being outside gives gives Martin Garcia you know lot of work a lot more to work with and less obstacles to deal with? And then we gotta talk about our collector, because it's great for for jury to have an opportunity like this the Bernardini cold, the Bruce Lunceford home bread and You know that allowance. "When you know when when the card was drawn as other you know three mile in eighth raise back to back to back you know unless you screw around with the track. There's a sudden rainstorm. We're really get a good line on these sources and I thought it was great that you had a great two stakes race for older horses in the mix. Because that's a real gauge of how good three-year-olds are Earlier in the year I mean if they can run as fast as you know sticks quality older horses there. There's something special and as it turned out You know by my standards one the oaklawn handicap race You know faster than Than New Dala Charlatan. The doll was Like a fifth of a second Faster Than Charlotte And our figures one. Oh two for by my standards Ninety six for Charlotte. Ninety eight for doll but I thought it was very very revealing. I mean I you know the you know the fact that the Three year olds were close to by my standards. They're pretty good. Not Maybe not superstars but certainly solid horses. But I you know I had been hoping just as a fan hoping to see Charlotte and You know run a a race that would really certify him as a as a really you know super top level horse at you know after winning his first two starts by you know with a one zero five and one. Oh six and you know the the you know the one you know there was a question about him. Because because of his pedigree I mean he is by sprinter his His Dam was like editor best at a mile and a sixteenth. And I thought that even though he won by six lengths for him to drop off ten points in his figures to He suggested that maybe Charlotte is is perhaps a miler. I don't see him as a Kentucky Derby Horse off of that performance whereas I really liked the ray race Dole ran. He was Under pressure at in a fast pace and you know when King Guillermo who had an excellent figure coming into the race king he came at him. He just of kicked in and another gear. I finished very strongly so I. I was impressed by him. Downgraded Charlotte in a bid after the more than a little bit after.

"In has a chance to run second in that race because I I don't think he. I don't even WanNa hopeful on a sloppy track. But I don't think he's been real happy with the off track that oaklawn and his for to start your reasonable third without a good trip behind behind the Dow and then last time out he got caught behind horses and didn't get out well and it was in a box and who's getting much kicked in his face and he just got mad but he's going to be on the outside on fast ground going around. May I think you're gonNA find at least find out of bases any good I thought he was good last year and I still am not willing to give up on. I don't think he can be charged. But I think so. Maybe that'll help us. Make some money in the first division of the Arkansas Derby at for the second division In the thirteenth rifle we can talk about the race in between the minute but I really think Dallas is really really good. He's trained better now than he trained even before he started and he was all the rage even before he started because he's looked to me like he's learning how to relax and switch off and well I do think he's fast enough to make lead I don't know how committed wells by you will be from way out there but if he just over and opens up. I don't have any doubt my mind and adopted run. Bennett could stock and sit. Second Win That's the way he's been acting in the morning and he just looks to me like a cult that is just exceptional five to two in the morning line and King Guillermo was three to one and I think there's a I think samples and oranges between those two. I mean he won very nicely in Tampa Bay and wants forty eight three quarters and twelve and the Dow can do that. You know when a common Gallup Heathrow forty six and change of Kingdom reacts to that so we'll see I like the Dow and I liked Charleston and it's a good race.

"They were talking about moving that horse to turf and Victor said give it one more shot on dirt and it goes out there winds effectively fifty to one and now. It's like the second favorite in this race. I don't know about that. I am trying to see you. GotTa Post Position For me. We're doing this on the fly. A little bit seeking Guillermo was Kim gear in four post right next to the doll who is the favourite at five in the morning. Line favorite Joel. Rosario Bob Baffert there the connections for that one and then wells by you. Who won the Louisiana Derby all the way out there in in post? Eleven for Brad Cox and you'll for Brad Cox these kind of been keeping to himself staying up in New York kind quarantining this and that. And he's got wells by you here ready to go through. I feel like wells by. Who's got a great shot on the outside here? Well you know the one thing I would tell you about the king year race I I mean it's not the way to play the game right when he said. Yeah you wanted to when he's forty nine to one and not three to one but I will tell you his numbers tower over these horses in this leg this race. I mean that that last race he w- he runs. That raise. Here have a nice day. I mean very deserving three to one very deserving is that one though where and I know you've talked about this angle before when a horse has that big kind of shoot your shot type of P- type of event you generally don't like to come back on them no do you. Well there's two. There's two trains of thought there. I mean if it was a a real hard battle the whole way I mean it could exact toll you know in the Tampa Bay Derby source this source drew off for fun. One by four and three quarter lengths could have won by more. I mean he won this race under wraps. No sometimes the big win. You absolutely come right back on them. If it was a real elongated stretch battled. The horse won by a quarter of a length or something sure it can take something out of them. And you can say oh. Yeah that's a bounce boy. In the horse out of nowhere ran his career-best he's going to regress. In many instances. That happens but my favorite bedding angle of all. Is I love horses. I races of three year old because these horses can put on one hundred and fifty pounds there more mentally mature and from a three year old a two year old. And that's exactly what happened with King Herrmann remain to the to the point where I don't even honestly I didn't bet the race I that day. I'm crying 'cause I I'm sure there are others. That ran the head the same kind of deal but if you look at his oars cut like you said a couple of races on the turf at Gulfstream of the race prior to that was November thirtieth. This was the son of uncle. Mo I mean the horses bred in the purple hair but it was. It was the first race of three year olds so to me. You Know He. Fires is ninety nine buyer figure. I'm more inclined to say that this is who the horse is. I think they got something here. Honestly he honestly a quick pass through this Adam Ruins this race back especially in this league. That would not be the case. If he was facing charlatan he he. He caught lightning in a bottle. Ended up in this In this event when they split it up and he avoided Charlton. I honestly one pass. I would be playing charlatan the last thing. I want to ask you about here with the Arkansas Derby. I mean with quarantine and everything. That's going on here lockdowns and stuff like that. I mean these are if we had the Kentucky Derby this weekend the list of jockeys look a little bit different. Some of the really big names aren't out there for this thing. A lot of them are though. How much does that matter to you? If you really like a horse like for example King Guillermo Semi Camacho is a veteran jockey but not nearly as accomplished as a guy like a Joel. Rosario Javier Castellano Florention ru somebody they even. Joe Talamo is really really good in races at Oaklawn Park. So how much does that matter to you? I mean how much is it the driver and how much is it you know. What's under the hood so to speak? Jackie jockeys absolutely part of the equation. I mean I've got certain guys I just upgraded horse automatically if the changes made to certain guys in this vein. I'm actually thrilled. They're sticking with Camacho. I enjoy this and I understand why they would do something along these lines. Oh my God I got a chance to win the Kentucky Derby I gotTa get one of the best jockeys in the business. Don't kid yourself all the jockeys agents that saying Mike Smith but guys like Mike Smith John Velazquez their agents knocking on the door. Here can my guy ride your horse. And they're sticking with Camacho and I like that. I mean you know. Stuart Elliott go back to Losing my marbles Oh the Philly Park works. Smarty Jones stood stood elliot. He's a journeyman he stuck on Smarty Jones they stuck with them they won the Derby won the preakness and people that is day. Think Elliott move too soon could won the Belmont but but they stuck with them. Jeremy Rose Way back. When was an upcoming writer for Delaware Park? He made a mistake on a fleet. Alex in the Kentucky Derby. He'd ducked down to the rail which was the dead part of the track a fleet Alex goes and destroys everybody in the preakness and the Belmont. I Think Fleet. Alex could have been a derby a triple crown winner. But I I I appreciate when these guys stick it out with some loyalty and honestly because Camacho's on the horse you'll probably get every bit of three two one seven two two and the betting public say well I'll bet rosario or I'm going to bet Asmussen and Santana. They're going to bet the big name Jockeys Castellanos back. He's writing for Todd pletcher. Those horses will take money and you mentioned you should lose some money writer for Brad Cox and Wells by you. Looks really good You know the the way I'm looking at it real quick What's interesting to me about you know the king? Gmo His the running style is he's got tactical speed in this race. I could see him sitting just off wells by you and pounces at the top of the stretch. No I think it's a IT'S A. It's a cool little soap opera. But the thing. That's so different is when we get to the Kentucky Derby you know some horse that's an also ran in this one of these. Two races runs fifth. Or something you know wouldn't have been the Kentucky Derby winner but because the Kentucky Derby. What's our start date for the? Derby out have you know first week in November? I think is no I. Is it that late November. Oh seven fourteenth something like that but anyway at the at the end of the year. I didn't think it was that late because I thought they were still chance for the triple crown No September fifth. Yeah it's not that. Oh Okay my bad. Yeah no that the Belmont would have to be you. You bleed that out into October I think for the Belmont for the so. Those are the triple crown. Play of all things go as planned but the point is somebody that runs fifth here and would have been nothing to consider for the Kentucky Derby. It's still a maturing three year old and let's go several months down the line and also ran in the Arkansas. Derby could be the beast when we get to the Kentucky.
