"We got some bottles coming out this that are some pretty heavy hitters yes some really highly allocated bottles One for sure that. I know on that i'm looking for. I don't think i've ever been able to see this out in the wild anywhere. But that blatant bo. Twenty two year Coming out in april. It's going to be a nice hard to find but if you can get your hands on one is going to be about that. You definitely want to add to your collection. I've seen people do reviews on it. They've had nothing but positive things to say about it. And i just kind of scared of the price tag. I don't know exactly what the price tag on it is. I'm not gonna throw a bunch of rumors out there. But i know what's up there Another one that you can be looking for in april Old fitzgerald's releasing their spring. Twenty twenty one to kanter. I think this one was an eight year. Yes so this is going to be an eight-year bottled in bond bourbon. You're going to be hard pressed to find this one as well So also in april. You're looking at blood. Oaths annual release. Pack seven this year Last year's was finished in cognac barrels. This year i don't do it. Does anyone know the finish on that. By chance Kimball can look that up for not mistaken. it was. i can't pronounce a madera madera. Almost one hundred percent. Sure and i'm i'm may be completely wrong. I know the label is just a beautiful baby. Blue yes so high. I love the color blue health campbell's wearing a blue shirt. I like that shirt gamble. So you were talking about the Price tag for blaine. Twenty two yes Soften yay sau. T. e. r. in es casks. I'm guessing saw yeah. I don't know how to pronounce it. So let's see again sought as you. T. e. r. n. e. s. We're also from southern indiana. So far pronunciations are absolutely terrible. Y'all don't understand what we're going through around here. Please forgive sweet white wine. From the small town of salter tornay in the bordeaux region of france so definitely saw tornay or saw. Turn me a white wine. That's going to be an interesting one but by to the blatant is. Is this the last of the blatant bo. Twenty two year. Because aren't they discontinued doing in bo. Twenty two. I haven't read anything yet. just keep stay tuned to us. We'll we'll do some research and will either put it up on our facebook page or we'll lie included in a future episode

Kemba Walker Rusty, But Also ‘Pain-Free’ In Return For Boston Celtics vs. New York Knicks

"Boston celtics had a bad weekend and kimball walking. I would call them. Losers kemba walker. I had a bad return simply because they got smoked at harm by the new york knicks by thirty points and kemba walker made his return now again. He didn't have a great game individually but he got through the game although he did leave in the third quarter with injury. He was fine to return if he could have been. He was that his minutes restriction. So he wasn't gonna come back now. We're getting drilled anyway but kemba walker said after all the right things felt good to be back at their now. It's just a matter of getting some getting his wind back and he's hoping to have that minutes restriction lifted. These things usually take probably three or four games at least Before we get there but one of the probably as a bit crazy we've seen some strange scores a strange result but seeing the boston celtics get absolutely hammered. No jason tatum. Who's out with coronavirus. Right now by thirty to attain the knicks. Who have been awful. Recently was a real big surprise really. I know the celtics hadn't played so they were a bit rusty. But i don't think we really expected them to get hammett what By that much. Good signs for the knicks. Obi toppin they rookie came back Hit two threes as well. We we heard all about how he played at close to the rim. They knocked down threes last night. That's how confident he was feeling. Took four two of them so that was great. Julius randle had another very good game here for the knicks for the celtics. They just couldn't get it going at all here at thirty five points in the first half alone And i think it was only fifty after three quarters they had yes so really shocking performance here from the celtics once they get back once they get jason tatum back. I think they'll be fine but this is the one they want to flush down. The toilet drilled at harm. And that's what the coaches say. I don't really want to evaluate this guy just like let's just flush the toilet.

No Kemba Walker Spells Danger for the Celtics

"Me if the Celtics don't have a healthy Kemba Walker by February 1st during major trouble like making kiss. This is a good by going deep in the playoffs. They got no chance you lose Hayward and then you're going to lose Kemba I get you get Tristan Thompson's great as as a auxiliary. Peace, but I I don't think it gives you a much different than what Daniel theis does. He gives you a toughness it gives you a rebound and gives you an athletic hard work and forward, but but it's not like either one of those guys. You can't neither one of them are scores. No, but they don't need a score of their know if they you know, if they if they don't have Kemba, I don't have Kimber. Yeah, right. I know right? Well, that's that's my big issue is if you don't have Kimber Kemba needs to be he's gotta be your number two guy Tatum's clearly your number one now. I don't think anybody would argue with that. But Kim is gotta be your number too. And if they don't have him you go from Kim, but it's Jeff Teague. And again, we didn't see a healthy Kimball last year. We remember Kimba as man. He just wasn't very good in the postseason you forget Charlotte Kemba and if you have Charlotte came up to me, then this team has a chance to come out of the East without Charlotte Kemba. All right, so I agree with that but I still don't think they're disaster. I think there's still a good team good team. Are you better I mean if it were just trying to invalid and prorating how many W's with a truncated season if it were an eighty-two Game season, I'm Kemba Walker. Could be a 45 6:20. Yeah. Yeah, I would I would agree with that but looking at it now without camp for half the year. Let's say let's say he doesn't come back until February 1st. So he's going to miss 2 months of a 72 game schedule. So what's that a third of the year? No not too much six weeks because they're starting on the 23rd of December. Okay, so often so just so I don't have any, you know, the I mean, I don't want to start trying to do math in my head. That's so humorous five weeks five six weeks probably, you know before he gets a hundred percent. He maybe maybe too much but they're going to come back to schedule. So at least 15 games. I'm sure this is why the Jeff Teague signing was so important. Oh it was I was a terrific signing and if I can put him doing what he should you know, how long we know who he is, you know, we know what it is and he's it's a high quality of such a high-quality auxiliary piece. He's a very useful auxiliary teasing. You're right. If you're going to make him a if you want to elevate him into a starter and a guy to your depending on then that's a different matter. But using him the way he said they projected, you know, that was an excellent pick up, you know, so but let's go through Bob without without a healthy camera. Tell me if they're better than any of these teams. Okay with our healthy Kim but like like a 90% Kemba ready Milwaukee. No. Toronto No the Nets. We don't know probably find Miami now clearly not know we go down there. Yeah, Philadelphia Phillies a mystery guest now, we think they saw that they they've done what they need to do. We think. All right. Let's see but I cuz I thought it would suck. Yes. I mean, yeah, I think seven Indiana is better without Kemba. Okay. So you got you got one more to throw in the mix Home Improvement team, but you know as Atlanta they're going to read during pooped on paper. The good thing is the good thing is even without camera there probably a lot for the play-offs but they you're talking about seven problems. I agree. Well, that's you know now why that's true. So I think we can agree on

MagSafe for iPhone 12! What Is It & What Can It Do!?

"So mag safe by the way what a troll of name everybody who the sport from their Mac book so much and like us year like in Dungle Hell watching this event and we're bringing back safe back and you. Get this warm flicker of glow and they're like it's a giant circle for your phone. What's safe about the point of maximum says that it would detach from your laptop when you tripped on it so the laptop wouldn't go flying. Do you think that your phone is gonNA attach from this circular magnet when you trip on the cable and it won't go? There's nothing safe about. Trading on the goodwill towards rational ports laptops. And instead it's a circle. So it looks very much like the like the Apple. Watch charger IT'S G. So the phone consult charge using your old she chargers a lot of confusion about this yesterday. So he can still just charge found aled while charging patio. If you buy apples meg safe one. Yep. It will use magnets to click on the back of the phone line itself in charge of fifteen watts, which is faster than most. Not As fast as a cable. But. The magnets are strong enough to hold the thing on the back of the phone and I swear to God. The point of this is so that when you get into bed at night, your phone's dead and you still want to screw around on your phone while plugged in dip you can. That's that's one hundred percent why they made this happen only if they made it like a six foot cable though. So it's an open standard. They've published the SPEC. There's there's some NFL stuff floating around. Anybody can just magnets they can't. They can't dram the magnets as far as I can tell the question is, can they can they MSI made for iphone drm the fifteen watt charging speed day? Definitely. MSI APP charters. So yeah. So they're definitely there's little NFC tags and the cases and the official stuff. So I'm sure they can software rate limit the charger, but anybody can make out dull Cardi making car mounts, Sco she's already making like it's happening. This is the accessory ecosystem for the iphone in it is all happening. So that is built out so that when they take the port off the phone, everyone's already used to click in little circles on the back. By the way that we've had this whole environmental conversation. To Max's circle looks very big. Compared to how tiny? Lightening Cable. Giant. It's like a coaster that you're throwing around wireless chargers waste electricity compared to came the radically less efficient, and so it's not good for the environment. He's where the starter apple buys Tesla. Conspiracy Theory was taking the port off the phone I'm saying that they're buying Tesla. Tesla Power Wall. So it's all happening. I think save is exciting I for one like I have a wireless car charger amount in my car and it's the it's the best. And so being able to throw your phone on there and taking off is really awesome. They're already all kinds of cases for that. I keep thinking about my little Osmo Jimbo. Yeah and so the new one has a magnet but you sound like fiddle with a clip to get it on your phone if that thing just becomes a MAG safe attachment. Like there's a million things you were taking your phone in and out of yeah plus they're going to sell more pants because people have to buy special pants with extra pocket with protective line or added to keep it from demagnetize credit. Battery packs that just magnet on the back that's was your iphone mini problem like there's just like a bunch of cool ideas that happen when you have. A magnetic attach things to found. The question is, how strong are these magnets? Can they hold the way of a battery pack? Can they keep your kimball mounted while you're I don't know doing extreme sports. Like whatever people do? Get. You're bombed down the snowboard mountain. Well, those magnets mess with the compass because that was a problem on the first phone that had A. Surger the palm pre. Just pointing that I get ahead, say I'm pretty sure like mom rushing the phone out the door and crap, the compass doesn't work. On their cabin board of problems. Far, below like sprint exclusive. Hopefully, it's like did anybody check the magnets and like five thousand apple engineers assigned to that problem now? I, think it's really neat I. DO think that it's obvious. The march taking off the phone is underway I very mixed feelings about this.

"Tide is turning against us in Washington. A movement didn't start in Washington. It's not going to be stopped by it. Got to clip from the Netflix series. Mrs. America a fictionalized account of Gloria steinem's role in the women's movement. This is a topic. I've touched on a couple of times in this show and I probably way overdid it in this episode with the birth. Excellent doctor Gil Kimball, but I think this idea of being able to understand how psyops might change the way we look at everything including our current understanding of Consciousness needs to be the starting point for so many of the conversations we have on sneak peek. Oh, here's a clip from the upcoming interview. So if you're asking me do I think there's a sigh of all I can say is I don't have enough information to know I can't tell you. Yes, I believe in it because I don't know who it is that these mysterious manipulators are inviting you to push back as hard as you can on this destroy the narrative that I've just laid out destroy the narrative the Gloria Steinem was a lifetime CIA player because the answer you gave me in the email Gail. It was so completely inadequate. It was the opposite of everything should it be about because what you said was I don't care because she did a lot of good things. We must never succumb to I don't care about the manipulators. I don't care how I'm being controlled. I Only Could care about what they give me at the end. We must never succumb to that. We must always be about the truth. Welcome to skeptical where we explore controversial science and spirituality with leading researchers thinkers and their critics. I'm your host Alex Karras. And today we welcomed October Gail Kimball to skeptical Gail is a professor emeritus. I from you see Chico and was the first coordinator of their women's studies program. She's also an odd award-winning author. We're going to talk about some of her great books today. And you know, one of the great things about Gail is she is familiar with the skeptic code track you did, you know, and you remember that I interviewed you last year. So I'm very familiar with I I do and I really appreciate it. I think we have a good shot. And I really look forward to having that kind of chat again today because you know as I just mentioned you you have these thoughts. Books that are really right up our alley here at skeptic..

"A and and I think for the city council. You saw people come out and support industry city and I think. That was not only a mistake but I think these are council members have no sense about what central park is all about look forward to them. So Andrew Andrew Kimball said that it was interesting to say. Just now, a few minutes ago that you know you never really got into negotiations and I guess you sort of mean sort of. In the EULER. Process it's now at the city council but. There were there have been some negotiations Andrew Kimball obviously tell if your perspective on space said, you know that you had outlined about ten things and they basically medal ten of those things is that not how you recall the previous period of negotiation at you it outlined things and they were receptive removing. Perceptive, too many things that we're putting out like. But like any negotiation, you understand exactly the paper. Concept never saw any memos. We never we never saw any pieces of how they were going to what they said they were going to do. And we never got to that point The framework was not just for industry city. This was for the mayor, this city agencies out to protective honorable community and the community itself would rise up and defend itself. When I'm gone these these rezoning have massive impacts for generation to come and I wanted to ensure that all of those pieces together before we even got to negotiation. So that that you in then you in a in a lot of other Brooklyn liked officials told them to pull it. Yeah absolutely because it wasn't, it wasn't ready and didn't have the support and the city council I was talking to my colleagues of they didn't have didn't have a sense of of of a path. The council members didn't see a path after all the local elected officials representing the people sense of parks that no, there is a political problem and that was the ultimate fatal flaw that was represented in these letters of support that I think councilmember saw. The communicated that to me and to the speaker and.

Max Has NO FEAR FOR THE DEER + Nick Nurse ‘Coaching Clinic’

"That's not a bad shot wasn't a bad shopping to see not it was a bad shot. But how did they beat Philly? Was that a good shot? Just tell me that was was that a Nick nerve-wracking. This is the best coach you can do we need to Coalinga. Is that the best player you go? Okay. So this is what is what I wanted to hear from you mind me getting that. I mean running off the corner going all the way following the way from the three-point line that that was the way you designed. This is where I'm getting that thing. Okay. So then let's talk about that. Then ignorant didn't have a play lined up in that situation or at least we maybe didn't have the the player. Maybe maybe that's it. In my opinion. He said, you know what they figure things out up to this point. I'm going to let them just keep going cuz I have nothing and that's a problem that's off. Can't be that kind of Coach into play. I believe in this situation that Brad Stevens to me and although Nick nurse is the coach of the year. I like Brad Stevens home is a knows better now like next Nur Nick nurses X's and O's I think he is. I think he gets guys in places. They need to be and it has really worked out well for so so I don't I don't necessarily think that yeah, you want some people that call timeout. Okay, you can call timeout but now you give the other team opportunity to self esteem. So if I promise up until you come down to your file before guy gets into the act of shooting Mean there are a bunch of things. You can talk about that. You can't talk about on the flyer. So that's a good point because you if you're Brad Stevens, I'm telling my guys to foul. They needed three follow. Yeah, but they they going to do that. They did not going to do that because they didn't have that opportunity to think about it. They just play what time on the situation you have more time to think about. Absolutely so that maybe it's why Nick nurse doesn't call a time-out init work off. All you were trying to do is get a decent. Look at it three point shot got a decent Loop. Don't miss don't miss out on this one. It's your chance. You know, Cedric Maxwell says go down absolutely had to betonline.ag today and take advantage of all the great signup bonuses betonline.ag your online sportsbooks experts and it now I don't know man. just feel like when it comes down like you say like when it comes out and accessing those late-game situations, I'm taking Brad Stevens over over Nick nurse all day them, but when Nick nurse but some guy told me later on or off. Yeah, some guy told me the other day on the radio from Toronto said Nick nurses by the arrestee was a give him a clinic in coaching. Okay. Oh, I thought that goes but this is my thing with him. This beef with Nick you you played out that situation, right? It didn't pan out obviously depend on welfare. But you know, you played that card whatever it is what it is right off of 20 minutes later. So it was a microphone in your face and you're gonna complain about oh Jason Tatum got their free throw line too many times all the favors. I mean, excuse me, all the referees gave him that one come on and while you're trying to put up there and you're trying to put something in somebody's you're trying to put some because if it's not working you're down to well, you're trying to put your grabbing it whatever you can grab that actually the course of the year. You're trying that your job. Well, you're grabbing it what you can grab it. See I can really hasn't been that guy you know that said, oh my God, there's no way to stop. I'll come David Jaylen Brown has done a nice job. I'm just I sewing being one off. Woman with G acha you gotta yeah, and they haven't really had to double-team. That's true. So, you know what Jaylen brown hair but his defense has been underrated. How about the time that Jaylen Brown? I mean you're talking about quickness thought he ripped off calorie calories was dribbling and it was like stripping. Well, yeah look like look like brown was in The Matrix the way he went across and grabbed the basketball game. Carolina was sent he was going back the other way know when the ball on the floor you you ain't got it no more. I looked at him. Where did it go with so long? I mean, it's been it's been eye-opening to see some of the some of the situations and even now down that bubble people talk about or you know, what's going on with Milwaukee Milwaukee is trademark what they do. They give up three's what does what does Miami like to do? Oh you take the reason you're walking Milwaukee is given that more FAQ. To anybody else. So Miami's Forte there strip is shoot the three. Yeah. So if you ever team does knocking down threes in a regular area off and you you're struggling right now with, you know, Yiannis and Middleton and you know, they play great against the Celtics but they've had a you know, Jonas has been if they use the series honest is going to be exposed again time to time MVP. I agree with that. Well, the biggest reason why I agree with that is because you you got a 27-point performance out of Chris Middleton office and you couldn't make that a win like that's a big. Well somebody else involved in this. Well, that's what I'm saying. You know his Lopez involved. Where is Lopez build out. 1 game? Okay lower game loading again if off on your scores Seventeen eighteen, you're in trouble. Well, we're we're and that's the thing about picking up your teammates like somebody who's like Kimba. Okay. Kimball didn't was barely scored and Marcus fairly score. Yep. You had somebody else that kind of shoulder the load until those guys got it together and you look at blood. So what's blessed done during the series always been a little banged up. So I don't I don't trust them this man. This is obviously I've never been like like that's always in my thing Milwaukee. Yiannis is going to be honest, but I don't trust your boys like your squad is shaky Milton will give you those 30.93 here and there but need to make sure those are wins you can give those up Jerry has travels big man. I really like Miami and new series. I just like their Focus right now, too. Yeah. I totally agree. I think again to see to me, it's Jimmy Butler Factor. Yeah, because they those dudes right now bam alabado guys, like they're they're taking on that same Persona is Jimmy Butler like, you know jumping off. Yeah. I mean Jimmy brother man. I mean he said about when you asked about guests and family come into the bubble was you said he I'm not bringing anybody man. This is a business trip. Wow. "Me today. And as always as we have a really fun guest today, this is someone who I just kind of in the back of my mind. I've wanted to have her for a really long time. She's been a real blessing to our family and I. I know she's going to be a blessing to you I'm Katie Kimball welcome to the podcast. Thank you so much and I. Just Love The story of how we connected. It's a beautiful gift. Yes, it is so so that that story goes. Is that years ago? our family was going through this crazy kind of transition period and we. We were in the process of. Moving and figuring out what we were doing with my husband's job and my girls had come across. Kids Cook real food we're. We're talking about kids and cooking in kitchen. Stewardship today and they really wanted to do this program and I said it's just not in our budget to be able to do that right now. And so I reached out to Katie and I, just said Hey, you know you don't know me, but you know here's. Here's our situation right now. Now and do you offer scholarships and in Katie responded to me. I think that same day, and you just said my kids and I were just praying about this this morning, and asking the Lord to bring someone who could blessed with this program and and so you did you. You offered us a scholarship to your program, and it was such a blessing and. So we're going to talk about that today, and so I, just want to say, thank you for that. Thank you for being a blessing to us and welcome to the PODCAST. I'm so glad to have you with me today. Yeah well. Thank you and again I. Just hearing that story because that was so many years ago that I don't i. don't even necessarily remember, but that's. That's kind of the proof that it was right from God the Yes me it, wasn't you? It was all him. Yeah, this was probably four or four and a half years ago, so it was quite some time ago. but God is faithful. He is so faithful to provide the things that. That? He deems necessary for our families, and so so he said Katie. I want to get you on and tell more people about this. Really Amazing organization that you have. That's perfect for home school families. Before we do that, tell us a little bit about you and your family. Sure I am I started my life as an elementary teacher was just that was what I wanted to do since I was in preschool new. I knew it was going to happen and then I only taught or two years before starting family and I also knew I wanted to be a full time. Stay at home. Mom You. That I couldn't split my brain and my time that way because I'm all when I do something. I'm all in. You know So we now have four kids. They're ages five, eight, twelve and fifteen. It's it's birthday season so I'm really glad that straight there. To the wrong when they're all flipping over numbers. So, yeah, we the age range from like kindergarten in the high schooler, all everything in between, and and we've I've always been not always then when I when I got pregnant. I began to think a lot more about healthy food, and why that was important and you know how God designed our bodies and the food he gave us as opposed to the food, made in factories in Kinda created by scientists I really started changing baby step style the way our family eight on at first year. My son's life I spent a lot of time at the cutting board like cutting vegetables in figuring out how to make food and making mistakes and that's kind of weird kitchen. Stewardship grew as as a teacher. My brain was. was always going like. How can I help other people you know, understand techniques and of wheat. Some of the mistakes they've made, and like you know appearance, our MOMS in a Bible study and stuff are always saying gosh so hard, because when you try to be healthy at so expensive or takes so much time or like there's all these tensions, and so that was a big idea of this kitchen stewardship. Like how can we stewart all of God's gifts? Our finances are time our family's health, and also the the environment. The world has given us. At the same time without feeling so stretched, and so that I thought I might write a book and so you start a blog and see if there's an audience for that, and this was two thousand eight hours like what's a blog. And then three months later I had started and just really enjoyed building the community of MOMS. WHO also wanted to be healthy and needed kind of the grace in the baby steps. Yeah I, love it well. Someone like myself, you know if. Those listening have been listening to me for any length of time. You know that I hate to be in the kitchen like of of my responsibilities as a mom, a wife I would rather do anything I would rather do laundry clean toilets. Scrub the floors, clean windows anything. Other than being in the kitchen and I think part of that is just growing up. I wasn't in the kitchen alive We ate out a lot growing up And when we were eating home, we did very quick. oftentimes TV dinners and pot pies and things like that. And so I just didn't grow up with that and I I. Don't know what it is, I know this sounds really weird, but I'm not a person who likes food like I like the taste of food but I. Wish it wasn't required three times a day every single day for life. I've often joked with my family and said I wish that we could be like the jetsons remember that cartoon, the jetsons and remember they have like the machine, and you're just BOOP BOOP, BOOP! You'd pop in some you know code, and then out would pop a plate of food. That would be my dream is to just you know, have some kind of machine and my kitchen. That would just magically. Display From and produced this beautiful plate of food that was healthy in every way for every member of my family for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but I realized that that is not reality, and that dream is never gonNA come to. So therefore. I was glad to find your your website kids cook real food and my girls have watched several of your videos and and they they've learned to peel carrots and to cut into different things in the kitchen. The way that you've taught them to do so. and to be totally transparent I I still really struggle with being in the kitchen with the desire to. Cook and oftentimes the know. How like I mean I know you know obviously protein and vegetables and fruits like? "We want to start out by talking about your career which is really interesting to me. You've made some big changes moving from investigative business journalism too long form sports writing and fighting to hosting podcasting and commentating and these are all really. Hartfield to break into. Could you tell us about these transitions? And you know was was sports journalism something. You're always headed towards. None of these jobs were ones that I was doors or ones that I ever aspired to do. You know I kind of fell into all them So now that I've alienated. Everyone right from the trump wants to do these things Yeah no I don. I was going to be like you guys like arts writer or more cultural criticisms kind of interesting to me out of college and then I fell into business. Journalism Durin Internship for magazine called Fortune. Small Business got job at Fortune magazine out of college. Writing about finance and investing moved to doing features than doing investigative features moved to Bloomberg News whereas they're investigative team and I. I've always loved sports but I never aspired to be in sports as a career. Never ASPIRE TO BE ON TELEVISION. Never aspired to do commentary. Espn reached out to me. I'll just didn't really seem like an option for me. Just didn't seem like something that somebody like me would even do quite frankly But but along those lines I don't think business journalism seemed like an option to me. Either I mean when I was in college is just didn't occur to me so. Espn Kinda made the Kimball. The idea for me. They hired me in two thousand fourteen as a features writer. After reading your piece about Your Dad yes. So I wrote a personal essay about football and editor their name. Meghan Ren- greenwell riche down. So you you seem. You seemed like football tweet about it a lot a lot of dumb stuff. She didn't say that. But that's accurate depiction of my twitter and So I was kind of like extensively a serious financial journalist at the time but Football and sports more. Broadly was my passion. So I I was worth twenty nine or something I suppose. Yeah decided to make the leap which was pretty terrifying. What did you grow up wanting to be like as a kid Painter Oh yeah and I still pay not well not a good painter but I do like watercolor sometimes of football players really. Yeah so do you draw them to then or yeah. I do a lot of things I just get I I know insane and then I sometimes I just get a gift. Like a little watercolor set or something. And I'll just use it up and then buy another one. That's what football players do. You have a series of Philip rivers just because I like you so emotive super splitting looking and then I did them all and I said why. Don't want these. So I just auctioned off for Homeless Charity here that works with homelessness that were considered roads a great compassion direction and I was shocked that somebody wanted them and result out of money so I did it again this year. Hug taught him how many has never looked better from the. Toronto's you look terrific today hugging Ka. That's the best I can but nausea to courtney love a band hall. At the moment we are in one. But we're going to get out of these we're GONNA roy stick fatty hiking winners. Send us only away from Josie. Now we know where we started. Tweet we stop at Joseph's track report the prohibit loss. Wait let's let's recap these second he said. You gotta be gotta be pies on spayed. Di Di all were. And they'll be coming off the route of the middle of the track. Josie absolutely not last week Josie placed hammers. She got something for this. Well hopefully we can get something Roy this week as well look ask seeks maters. We'd go at a little bit. Further soft seeks at the moment so expecting fifteen meals on Thursday fraud. I expecting I Ryan but Saturday expecting zero to six meals a gain so I think we're going to be in that soft seek seven Ryan Account. Expect these track to draw it really interesting to get further off the rile. Not so much the case he really own speed again but even horses. Just on the riles or a big advantage. When it goes eight six made is in the soft six Ryan. So don't be surprised. If the riles are the place to be. Look back to rile fullback rows. You could probably still win so darn expecting to get too far off. The fence are now. That's the pattern that was last week. And you sort of Virginia again. This week I think would be the case this week. Woy think they might go for horses. They're hard up against the rows one-two-three lines this Saturday. The Guy. We've heard that I very good Josie. Let's jump into the rights now. I rice. We're going to have a look at of course is the Tankard. I've a twenty four hundred metres very elegant. You're five and deservedly so to five followed in the market village. That five dollars Mugabe does muster g non does Mirage dancer in southern France both thirteen dollars tariff at twenty three dance area twenty-six truth at thirty one dollars Josie. We'll go to you and the map here. Really Secular Fahey woolley done. There's a lot of speed on Piper. Roy think very elegant will roll forward. We saw her roll forward last seven days ago when she was just beaming boy a dive. I think they'll roll forward John McCain take deposition Angel Truth Going forward I think four nail you'd expect to be at its fetus. Mugabe possibly could go forward. I think now it's had its second. Go at twenty four hundred meters. It could possibly roll forward. And there's a few days that just don't have the yearly gates paid to be able to do that with very elegant fourth. This time last year she was fourth option. One the CEO. She went really well. I think they said something really. Well spoke about that Rice where she finds finished second to die. He's a superstar. We spoke with these inform. One hundred and twenty-five die have absolutely gone extremely slow in that Rice lost weight but twenty two or three to eleven to seek time clearly the best laws four hundred lost two hundred of the die by far just close to half a second best boycot or. I think she'll win. I think she'll roll forward. John macrobiotic control the rice and she'll be two affiliates. Yea won this race last year. Two dollars sixty seven to a dollar sixty but that was off the back of winning the brain but somewhat unlucky in Australia Cup with issues. He's not going as well for me. Plus doesn't have the tactical advantage that very elegant will have always very elegant in the tankard. She proved a class. Last docked ships loomed up. It was a terrific Roy. Thomas macron Donna. Because he was able to take it up. A heated flat spot very elegant nosing front about he was able to fought back and Buddha. A love the way she held and she backed up once before that was from the white fool. Obviously into the Oxygen Victoria. Sh we know she's a two thousand four hundred made a win in the. She's charrier off by very elegant and I think rolling forward outside of Angel of truth or couldn't imagine she'd give up that advantage and get into a NAS rhythm and then settle for the twenty four hundred Mehta Gallup with that Mirage dancer and Moussagy. I think Mr. Jeez the best at solder in this field. He beat southern France over in Europe when they last met day. And I up. Winning these runs behind master on was terrific last dot. Ob It on a heavy non draw surface. He could improve out of the Ground Ivy. These trip most ability. He's not going as well Mugabe wait got group three. He comes up another level he so it's very elegant rice to win. Technically he bought oil Weiss. I look for a broad from one of these jockeys to get rolling at the item. I can take away that breeds and that turn of foot from very elegant and it might be the Rod on Moussagy. Just quickly you did mention. It was a really good. Pick up to mention that she did back up in the visa off the white full she actually filed she seven so there is. There's a slight knock. It could be that. Maybe she doesn't back up. She needs some link. Between Iran's bought. The profile was perfect but are just want to punish that you mentioned it so. It's really good to cy that she has backed up before she rented finished seventh in the works and she was four dollars. It was a foul issue variety wrong. That's the case. I think that animated well You guys know nothing more than when you hit the sign. That horse especially in a group want now. Let's have a look at the voluntary. Well I'll tell you what we're GONNA shorter Ye. Gentlemen Don Wait Funds. Ta Adults Seventy Five. So I'm interested. He chance they probably don't four. Forty MARKET GETS FROM THE PAINTINGS. Twelve bucks for say no and Missile Mantra. Both Iden- Does as got twenty shot about twenty. Six game of thrones. Twenty seven nudge. Forty six dollars and then just over the page aspect ratio. Best of the rest at sixty one dollars Josie funster very short but is justified. I think so. I think she's an absolute potential superstar. If she's not already there just with the Matt I think she had the barrel forward but again not a lot of speed on pipe. Pontes aspect ratio. I think we'll go forward and here. I think where the rights can be won or lost. I think that he's talked to clearly. Have between them they both exceptional phillies hard to knock either of them. But I think our probably roll forward as well and I just don't know where the problem beale has that tactical speed to be able to do that. Third up he fund star in the spring on the floor knocking off probably'll it was a dollar seventy four or five hundred one three and a half links. I just think these rice. It's up so much like that Rice They went extremely slow. Start yes fun. Style was in the advantage position and just had the technically vintage probably it was pretty good ren very close to debate and link not even that but they've come home twenty five twelve thirty four. That was the best of the die by a significant margin. They would've won the Kumo. They used to run the Cornell if they decided to run. They've got panels on the wrist. They got panels on the is the too serious racehorses going forward with both of them but I think fund star will have the tactical advantage and she's an absolute beauty. She will be but the last question overdrawn barrier right. She's she'll be in two minds early doors where the row. Ford and talking. Just come back and rod for a little bit of luck. I think that plays into the hands of probably joining soda. A breach of the China of probably Siamese. She's not based on a wet track in which funds stop later on last stat and she was able to technically outlawed on that occasion. But I love the white probably going fishy. V that she's had she's GonNa run a good tooth estimators. She can jump and lane close out and be wrought on fun styles hammer wherever she wants to sit in this field. These are clearly the 2-based horses in this race by five and ninety bad luck will bring one of these two undone because missile mantra as IAGO. Who won the Kimball Grind classic an Old Sisa painted and shout the Bio? Come through that time rice. This is another level up to Probably'll and found status. I based on that inside a barrier Kerrin mcevoy. If you're watching go and watch you'll lasting group one winners might and try and get to means Barack Obama. You just seen a bit of a hall. At the moment the basting could do back much all of my best rods to get out of that. And it'd be nice and shop for a big dialogue roading PROBAB- bill and can you get rotten. Big Fan Star. "This is a man Scott Kimball that is so damn cold blooded. He time and time again planned the murders of those around him. Some of these people. He was supposed to be helping some that. Were helping him and one person that he planned to murder but thankfully it didn't work. He tried to kill his ten year. Old Son the only person deserving of blame in any of these matters is Scott Lee Kimball a man so evil so cowardice that he tried to kill a little boy. Scotland Kimball is not anything special even as a con man. He's a loser everything. This coward attempted or tried to get away with. He eventually failed Yes. It took a long time but he failed last week. We spoke of a letter. Scott wrote regarding the man that sexually assaulted Scott when he was young and that that man that cruel and cowardice man. His name was Theodore Peyton by the way. Scott says it that man destroyed his childhood and robbed him of his innocence. And I believe that to be an extremely accurate statement but Scott grew up to be decided to be a man even more cruel and cowardice than the man who stole his innocence. So when we talk about motive with this creep it's just not so simple as to pointing to money as the motivating factor because when we talk about Scott Kimball. We are discussing a psychopathic killer. One that reminds me very much of Leonard Lake and H H Holmes or what I believe is more fun to say calling him by his real name. Herman Webster Mudge it likely. We have a multitude of motives. That likely varies based on the victim right financial gain covering up other crimes and sexual sadism and Scott claims that his major motivator was greed. Scott wrote these are his words quote. If anybody wants to know why I did what I did. My answer is that I always did it for the money. Huge amounts of money and quote but Scott is a liar. He spent his whole adult life lying to everyone all the time. So it's easy to believe that he is lying here as well. Because what huge amount of money did he get when he abducted and murdered his soon to be wife's daughter? Casey the answer is none and then we have one of our beloved prosecutors. Amy Aku the assistant. Da who helped Nail Scott said. His motives were pretty simple. He liked to control people. She said I think he thrived more on the ability to manipulate and control the relationship even while they were still alive for awhile to have that power and use them for what he could use them for while he could until he just didn't need it.

Serial Killer: Scott Lee Kimball - Part 4

"All right captain last episode we were starting to get into some of the physical collected against Scott and forming these cases against him regarding these missing persons. One of the items we have yet to hit on is it involves his phone records. So this reveals to law enforcement that Scott. The last person he spoke to on the evening of February seventeenth two thousand and three was missing person. Jennifer Marcum then. His phone went offline until February twentieth. Scott maintain that he had gone to the mountains for several days and turned his cell phone off. This is the same story that he kinda gave regarding Casey. But detectives noted that Jennifer's phone was also inactive for the same three day period of time after that there were calls made from Jennifer's phone this too Scott into several other people. This is before it went offline permanently now to the investigators it seemed obvious as Scott was using Jennifer's phone for the purpose of misdirecting law enforcement in an attempt to make appear as if she was still alive for some period of time after she went missing but we still have other crimes other murders to discuss. We have evidence in the Lianne. Emory disappearance Liens car was found abandoned with all of her stuff in it in eastern Utah but Leeann was nowhere to be found receipts for credit card charges to her card made in California. Bore a signature. That was not her handwriting. Detectives spoke to the unnamed inmate who knew Scott in prison the one who gave them the information about how Casey had been killed. This inmate told them that Scott said that he killed Lianne while they were hiking and Bryce Canyon and eastern Australia Scott said that he had stripped her nude or had her stripped nude kneel down and shot her in the head execution style. Now captain you know how this P. O. S. Scott operates right. He has an answer for everything. Scott told detectives that he did not kill Lianne. He said that members of a drug gang were the ones they had executed her and he was only a witness but he didn't could go to law enforcement he didn't get involved and even though he's already involved with the FBI he doesn't tell them. I witnessed a murder. He he only has to make up the story when confronted with something that he told somebody else right now. Remember the terrible this this angers and saddens me like you wouldn't believe remember the terrible accident on the ranch. I'm talking about the accident. When Scott's ten year old son Justin when a two hundred pound metal great quote fell on him right? You can see photos of this little boy in the hospital on Dateline and it's it's pretty horrible so in a stroke of bad luck for Scott but truly a blessing. After two weeks in a coma. His son woke up and was able to tell what he remembered. He says his father told him to turn around. And Dig a hole near this great and then all of a sudden the great fell on him then he remembered being in the jeep. Remember Scott is driving the son to the hospital. He remembers being in the jeep and he says on the way to the hospital. My Dad's Scott. He's pushing me by the face pushing me out of the vehicle by the face. Yeah I mean this is when he said it the first time. All here's this horrible accident than Scott's GONNA drive it son to the hospital and on the way. The kid falls out of the car you go. Something's not right here. Yeah it's it. What a coincidence that you would have to near death accidents back back that day. I can understand that. Sometimes this stuff happens in a state of panic. Maybe you're rushing trying to get him to the hospital but not what this guy not with this guy. There are not these. These incidents two failed attempts of murder so the Boulder County prosecutors boulder bitches. Thank you unfortunately. They did not feel that they had enough to actually charge. Scott with with what looks very much like an attempted murder of his son. This is in part because doctors indicated that his head injuries were so severe. They would not consider him to be a reliable witness. That is bullshit though. These might not be reliable memories that he has. Of course. We're no idiots and we can see all this other stuff together that that. That's probably very likely what happened. I know the prosecutors felt the same way and we're very saddened that they could not bring this type of charge against this man. We should also point out and it's no coincidence that at the time of this accident there was a sixty thousand dollar life insurance policy on the little boy was Scott listed as the sole beneficiary. Hear me out. Why don't you just want to roll the dice? I'm listening? Roll the dice right. We have we have to like I said to attempts of murdering this ten year. Old Boy And yes maybe his memory is not maybe he's not going to be Maybe he's not GonNa meet received as super credible but once you stack on the other piece of evidence that we have a motive the motive being a sixty thousand dollar. Pay Out for the death of this child. Roll the dice. Because what you. What do you have to lose? Well a couple things and we talked about this a few weeks ago. You do run the risk of the double jeopardy charge. Where where maybe at some point you actually do believe that you have the proper evidence to charge and convict him and if you try him now and you can't successfully convict them. You can't try again later. What I guarantee you. This is what my gut tells me and I would bet this man's beef farm on it not my own farm because the skies a liar but I bet you what happened. Captain is behind closed doors. They probably did take a chance. Because like you said what do you have to lose? This is what they probably took a chance on. Let's tell Scott that we know exactly. What the hell he was doing and see if it scares him enough that he's willing to plea to it or to a lesser charge right. Because you know you get this man in a room and you go look dude. Your son told us that you are the one that told him to get in that whole and then the great falls on them. Your son told us you were driving him to the hospital when he remembers you pushing him by the face out of the moving vehicle and this almost kills him and we also found a paper trail that you stood to gain sixty thousand dollars. Should that little boy die? You're hoping you can scare him into a plea bargain at that chant and I bet you they took that chance and Scott is just. It wasn't going to to fall for

"In two thousand and five Scott Lee Kimball received his punishment for theft and for fleeing this is for the time he split from the Montana prison release and stole money and a truck from the gas station that he was working at now. He pled guilty but again he was allowed to go. Free on supervised release. Just how supervised was this release. Well that depends on whether you think. Fraud and murder are permissible activities. While on supervised release things started to fall apart for Laurie and Scott. The police were called to a domestic altercation at Scott and Laurie's house and they arrested someone for assault surprise. It was Laurie. According to Laurie. Scott called the cops and reported that she threatened to kill him and through a vacuum at him. Police even issued Scott a restraining order protecting him from his wife. Lori was arrested again in August for violating the restraining order. She believes the Scott invented. The whole thing invented the whole story to get rid of her so that he could bring in his new girlfriend. This is Melissa Anderson Get her out of the House and Bring Melissa in as you may recall Scott had told the FBI that Jennifer Marcum who is missing that she went to New York to kill Jason Price at her boyfriend's request but he then later says that price had strangled Jennifer Marcum and Scott Remember. He claims to have even seen photographs of the body so agents. They go to speak with Jason Price. He has a completely different story. Surprise surprise there you go. Not only did he not kill Jennifer Marcum but he says that he actually suspects that Scott would be involved in the disappearance of Jennifer and Steve Anise. He's the boyfriend Of Jennifer Marcum. That Scott knew in prison. He denies that he ever involved Jennifer and any of his illegal activities. Scott seems like and we suggested this last week. Captain Sounds like he made up the entire story one to get him out of prison to it ends up getting him involved with Jennifer Marcum who is now missing and he's pointing the finger at other people. Well we know Scott is a liar but also think Scott has a tendency when he was in the cell with this individual he sees Jennifer Marcum and she's very attractive and so he's Smitten Meyer. And he wants to get to know her. He wants her for himself. Well and remember. He is put in charge of keeping an eye on Jennifer marcum because he told the feds that there's this whole murder for hire plot that's going on and they need to keep an eye on her. She is missing now so they're still trying to figure out. Can we trust this Guy Who's telling us these stories? Maybe maybe he is on the up and up and he is actually helping us here. Here's the problem when somebody's in jail for a fraudulent charges this. This is your red flag from the beginning. You might have this guy be an informant for you but you might have to track him very closely because at him lying and scheming people as what landed him into pre right he's he's a known liar known scammer in. It's kind of like he's almost like they forgot about got involved with him. And now you're having a hard time believing that he could possibly be lying to you right. So what's interesting though? Remember they did make him take a polygraph test to try to figure out is he on the up and up? Is he telling them the truth? Or what at least Scott believes to be the truth and he passed that polygraph that was in regards strictly to the disappearance of Jennifer Marcum. Now they're questioning all that behavior again specially after they speak with Steve Anise and they speak with Jay Jason Price so they wanNA give Scott another the FBI decided to make Scott take another lie detector test when question about Jennifer Marcum this time. His answers showed deception right now. Scott around the same time. He moves into a rental house after the whole cattle ranch thing seemed to be a fail. He paid for the rental this with checks the bouncing kind of course then in late two thousand and five Scott wrecked his jeep and collected ten thousand seven hundred ninety nine dollars and sixteen cents an insurance money then two weeks later. Scott reported to the Lafayette PD that his trailer remember the one that he stole. Well he reported someone stole it from him and for this he collected ten thousand dollars in insurance money. Meanwhile ridiculous Scott had his girlfriend. Melissa Anderson use her name and her identification to purchase a winchester rifle at Walmart. And then give it to him remember. Because of his pass charges and convictions he is not allowed to possess a firearm. It's after he gets the gun from the new girlfriend that he decides. Oh I no longer need you and he ditches Melissa this time for good now. Let's get back to Jennifer Marcum who's missing the F. B. I. Entered her name as a missing person in the national crime. Information Center database law enforcement agencies. Were under pressure from generous of Jennifer's family to find her Jennifer was a dancer who was involved with a known and convicted drug dealer but she had parents who loved her very much and loved her little boy despondent that she was missing and frustrated at the lack of interest from the FBI. Her Father Bob. Markham asked a cop buddy of his to run his daughter's name through a national criminal database. Hoping that maybe you know maybe she was in jail somewhere or even in witness protection somewhere. This search alerted agent. Sh- laugh remember. He's the one who had been working with. Scott Kimbler agents laugh contacts Bob and told him that they could not find Jennifer marcum that she's she's missing and he actually said that it appears that quote. She just dropped off. The map was not really clear what happened to her child either. Well the child is. I believe with the parents with her parents. Okay so they're raising her child. Correct okay so now. We have tells Bob that a man was in possession of Jennifer's furniture. Remember she moved in temporarily very briefly with Scott Kimble. Now he does not mention Scott's Kimble's name when he gives her this information but he does give Bob a phone number of the man who has Jennifer's furniture and when he hands it over when he has over the phone number captain. He says Bob when you call this number. Ask for a guy named Joe Snitch. So Bob and his ex wife which is Jennifer's mom Mary Willis is her name. They set up a meeting with this man. With Joe Snitch Aka. We know to be Scott Kimball Union dues kimball. They told Scott Campbell. Going under the name of Joe. Snatch tells Bob and Mary that Jennifer was murdered and he knew who did an even where her body could be located on the and how it happened. Yeah he offered to take them to her body but he says this is somewhere far away and Joe. Snitch gave them a very bad feeling when they met so immediately the to decline. They didn't want to spend any more with this colonialist not Google over this too much there add park. They meet at a park right and when they me at that park he lets them know. I can show you everything I can. I can tell you everything. But but the reason why he can't he can't actually verbally say right because he says it's classified information This is this is what was confusing to me. At first like why would he be able to show them but not tell them but his his ruse is that this is classified information? So I'd get in big trouble but I can show you so they go back to their hotel and and they're contemplating this while her mother is she saying. I WANNA go up in these mountains. I want. I want him to show me and her ex husband saying you're going to die if you do this. He's probably gonNA kill you And her statement was Wally. She would know my cat but what would knowing matter if seconds later. You're you're dead and again they don't know the history of sky but he's such a liar is he gonna even tell them the correct information. But what a strange thing for somebody to tell you especially somebody that you think is a part of law enforcement well and somebody that gave you a bad enough vibe that you didn't want to go up into the mountains with them or to to this place that he says is somewhere far away right so I wasn't going.

"To him And they gave him a birth certificate and a driver's license saying that he was in fact. Joseph Lee Scott so Scott Kimball who is now Joe Scott. He's put in charge of keeping an eye on Steve. Ns his girlfriend her name. Is Jennifer Marcum? So Scott Campbell told authorities. This is how we get to Jennifer Marcum. He told authorities the Jennifer Marcum in his girlfriend. Since she is the one on the outside she is going to be the one that sets up this whole murder plot. I'm guessing that means Kimball told law enforcement that she was going to hire the killer. So Jennifer Marcum was also a potential witness for the DA a large meth case and the short of it is Scotland Kimball is now out of prison living under a new identity and working with the FBI in all of this is going to turn into some very bad bad business and fairly quickly now before we wrap up here captain we must give a big thank you and shout out to a website. This is Scott Lee Kimball Dot Com. It's a website that is maintained by the daily camera which is a Boulder Colorado newspaper. Dating all the way back to eighteen ninety. That's right your great. Great Grandfather was reading the daily camera. The website was invaluable to our research in. The site includes a timeline and links to numerous articles about the case. And if the name the daily camera sounds familiar longtime listeners will remember. The daily camera was a great source for our six part Jon Benet Ramsey coverage which took place in episodes to eighty to eighty.

"We're making it. Allocate twenty seven days. Isn't that long? Well exactly. I don't know what the charge would have been could have been something. That's a hiccup. That's a vacation pretty minor Yeah not one that I wanNA take though We're making it out as though Scott is some kind of low level con artists who just happen to get away with check cashing scams and fraudulent moneymaking schemes. But what I believe that we will see here. Captain that the truth of the matter is that Scott's he's pretty talented as a con artist and I think what we're going to see. Is that his con artist? Skills might be off the charts and you know everyone who met him even though I'll judge that determined to see him in prison for the remainder of his days begrudgingly admits. That Scott was the best at this Universally he they say he was liked. He was jovial friendly and seemingly trustworthy. This is how Scott was described time and time again over and over these people that that knew him and met him throughout his life. Why you can tell even by his later in views that there is a brain inside his head. Yeah and what we will see as we go through. This is he. Truly just. He snowed people. He befriended people made them feel special. Build up their trust and then he cheated them. Yeah obeys no frame cabin now? What happens next on the Scott? Time-line gives us a clear cut example of how trustworthy he really seemed to be. In the spring of Nineteen. Ninety nine Scott Kimball agree to work for the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms as an informant on a stolen guns investigation. Yes this is an agency of our federal government taking on a conman scam artist a fraudulent trek rider into their fold. Now it's not really clear how this arrangement came about and it did not result in any arrest although Scott reportedly gave the ATF. Some names but not only did Scott get personal satisfaction from being a trusted informant for the feds. He got paid for a grand total of one thousand eight hundred sixty five dollars. The Rue the relationship was over by November of Nineteen Ninety Nine Scott Kimball benefited both as we said financially but also in terms of establishing goodwill with the feds a by December of Nineteen Ninety Nine. It was apparent that Scott was not only a scam artists but he was also violent on December eighth. His Ex Wife. Larussa reported to spokane police. This Scott kidnapped her at gunpoint raped her and forced her and the couple's two sons to accompany him back to Montana. No charges were filed for this incident. And there's a lot of speculation here as to why there were no charges filed. I don't know that I feel super comfortable getting into it knowing as little as we do about this situation But we would see this one more time this when Lewis again called police this time on December eighteenth Saying that Scott had broke into her house that night and held her at gunpoint then he made her take a bath and stole money from her purse again. No case no charges were brought forward in this incident as well now remember. The twos suspended sentences for convictions. For passing bad checks that he go over that again. He broke in made her take a bath after another sexual assault. And there's and there's no charges whatsoever that's correct. It's ridiculous again I. I don't WanNA speculate as to why there were no charges. Both of these situations we know very little about. Yeah so I mean it could be could be as simple as something as she called the police and then later says. I don't want to press any charges that's why I don't want to get into the speculation. I don't I don't we can't fault the the police department if the the person that notifies them later than says no. I don't WANNA I don't WanNA bring any charges. Well no you can fault on on some level because there's a possibility that she just doesn't feel safe enough that she can press charges that he actually presses charged with this guy's a animal and look what he did to me he might come back in and kill me. I agree but I think that it's irresponsible of myself to lay blame to someone or or an organization with with knowing nothing really about the situation. Yeah well let's not lay blame to to the organization but let's let's lay blame on the the idea that we we know this situation happened and we don't know why went down this way. Well that's why I don't WanNa Laity because I don't know that I don't know that it happened so I want to go back to the to suspended sentences for The the bad checks that took place in one thousand nine hundred eighty eight when Scott was just twenty one so he finds himself in jail once again this time in January of two thousand this time for violating his probation remember. He got probation for those charges. He violated his probation. This is for traveling and also for failing to report now. Finally a little justice here. This takes place in April of two thousand A. Judge threw the book. Adam Scott was sentenced to ten years in Montana. State Prison this for violating those probation now. Five years of this sentence were suspended but Scott was looking at five years of hard time. Five years in the Clink District Judge Hanson. Row of Scott Quo. The defendant is impossible to supervise in a community setting. You're irresponsible untruthful and simply do what you want to do. Regardless of the rules and conditions imposed by this court then even more charges were brought against him this time for three counts of felony check forgery. That occurred in. Nineteen ninety nine in spokane. His additional conviction piled up eight more months onto his prison. Sentence this is where the story really starts to gain some momentum here. Captain Scott's sentence his five years eight months with the five year suspended actually only resulted in him serving fifteen months in July. Two thousand one. He was relocated to a pre release center and Helena Montana. He was permitted to get a job on the outside and just report back to the center win. Not at work. Scott landed himself a job as a cashier at the easy stop gas station but within just a couple of weeks. Scott decided a change of scenery would be nice on July. Twenty Ninth Scott was working alone at the gas station. Let's quickly review. What the good judge said of Scott Remember saying. He was impossible to supervise in a community. He's irresponsible untruthful and simply does not. He simply does what he wants. Regardless of the rules while the District Judge Hanson was what we call here in the garage. Exactly right so while working at the station alone on the twenty ninth of July Scott Lifted. Six hundred seventy seven dollars from the register. He stole a work truck and he took off for parts. Unknown ocoee doors. I imagine there was several slim. Jims and a big gulp stolen from that gas station as well. That didn't go reported Ryan. That's the real crime here. Well now Scott. You are a wanted man. A warrant was issued for the arrest of Scott Lee Kimball but where did Scott high tail it to on the run from the law in the stolen truck where else but the furthest place away he could think of? Alaska is not known how Scott managed to get across the Canadian border but knowing his charisma and charm he probably just sweet talked his way in there. And it didn't take long for him to turn up in Alaska captain. This is because he could not resist falling back on his old ways. Writing bad checks this time. Scott assumed the identity of Brett Kimball his brother in the few months since his escape. Brett wrote twenty five thousand dollars. In counterfeit checks collected the cash and had landed himself a fiance. As far as this woman whose name is Catherine Curtis was concerned. Scott was a man named Brett Kimball and they were in love and living in a hotel room where Scott was eventually found and arrested during a raid. Along with eleven thousand. Three hundred dollars in cash was just proves that love is the biggest connell..

But Why: A Podcast for Curious Kids

Why do we like certain foods?

"We we know you come from all over the world so you have lots of different kinds of experiences and lots of different kinds of questions. One thing that's universally true is is that you all eat but you don't like the same things do you and that got one of our listeners. Pretty curious so today. We're going to listen back to an episode all about food. MARLINS ALEX I like to cook food to eat it. I'm eleven years old in Columbus Columbus Ohio and I was wondering why we like to eat certain foods for example. Why do some some people like to eat spicier food? Some people not like to eat their vegetables in that stuff. We love this question Alex. A few months ago we actually had a live event here in Vermont and we asked other kids about what kinds of food they love and hate Mac and cheese. Yeah it's really cheesy and cake because I have it every time on my mistake seaweed and salted dried. Well I like trying new foods of Grand Canyon hotdog uh-huh Alec Foods but I like dumplings. There were good taste and I like the texture. Macaroni at school could so cheesy. My Favorite I. I me and I like bitching soon. My favorite food peach because nerve. 'CAUSE 'cause there's tweet probably fix sticks or Kim surrogates. I like lots of foods but one of my favorite foods is hot. Docs because hot dogs are delicious. mm-hmm and the Bun and the Ketchup. Give them a very good taste of flavor. I like you cut down I think so. Why do some kids like hotdogs and others? Don't we got in touch with this guy to find out. Yeah I'm Chris Kimball and I'm the guy who likes to to make sure recipes work when you get into the kitchen at home. Chris Kimball is a chef writer and TV personality. He had a magazine called Cook's illustrated and and he had a TV. Show called America's test kitchen where they tried out different recipes to make sure they were as good as possible now. He runs a company in Boston. Called Milk Street Great. It's a magazine cooking school and TV and radio production company. Let's re familiarize ourselves with Alex's question while we like take eat certain foods for example. Why do some people like to eat spicy food? Some people not like to eat convection boys. That stuff studies have suggested that wild you know you are still inside your mother which your mother eats. It does have an effect on what you're GonNa like when you get a little older mother who loves carrots for example sometimes kids grow up to like carrot so they like bitter things a sweet things that affect your taste. I do think children in general like very high energy foods which means obviously sugary foods. Food sweet foods in over time I think as you get older your taste buds your palate. The way you react to foods changes in people tend to have slightly duller tastes and therefore want bigger flavors. They tend to like spicy foods by the way most of what you think of taste as nothing to do with a Palette of the tongue. That's just sweet sour bitter something called you. Mommy which means meaty may be a couple others others but almost everything you perceive as being a specific taste is through the nose or backup through the throat from the mouth up into the nasal cavity and the sensors there are going to pick up the thousand different kinds of sweet so your palate will determine sweet in different levels of sweet sweet but it's really It's the air. That's the odors that identify strawberry for example peppermint So you're smelling it rather than just tasting it with your tongue and your taste. Buds flavor is mostly about smell. And very little about taste taste the sensors on your tongue can determine different levels of the basic thing sweet sour salty bitter and media your mommy but when you get within any of those categories To all the infinite Senate variety. That's really the smell so for somebody who really doesn't like to eat any vegetables and their parents are telling them. Every the week you have to eat your vegetables you have to eat your Broccoli. This tastes good and the kid is saying. I don't like Broccoli. How do you develop a taste for things? Is that at first. You don't necessarily like well. Why should you? I mean you don't like Broccoli Doni Broccoli. I think it's A. It's very strange in this country that we seem to like to force kids to eat things they don't Wanna eat. Certainly kids should have good diets. But if kids don't like Broccoli why try try to make me Broccoli. Go find something they do like that is healthy if they want. It need an apple an apple but I don't believe in forcing foods on people that makes no sense to me. Our audience is GonNa think you're the best that's ever been on the podcast. Now you've just given all of our kids in excuse to say mom Kris Kimball enough to eat my Broccoli. When I was growing up my mother maybe eat OKRA? Tell you I still hate Okra. You have not developed a liking of Okra. Well if it's crispy pickled but otherwise now slimy Dan goofy doesn't work for you. What about spicy food? Some cultures have a lot of spicy food. So you're just going to be exposed to spicy food. And most people sort of adapt to whatever the the regional and cultural flavors are in their lives but spicy food is one area where you can gain and lose spice tolerance. Well well there are. Some people are more sensitive to spice like I am than other. That's true you can put a blue dye on the Tung. To measure the number of pappy. I or taste buds on your tongue. The more you have the more sensitive you'll probably be. That's true in in a lot of lot of research now suggests the taste preferences. Some of them are genetic for example I can detect bitterness us very quickly in food. And that's because I have some genetic markers which allow me to do that. But some large part of the population thirty percent center more. Don't have those markers so some of it is is just physiological Not just a matter of of experience and some of it is experience experience. I mean I. Is there a sense that when you try things over and over again you might change your if you grow up in a culture. That's using spicy foods. You'll be used to eating spicy food. Sure I yeah I think I think there's no question about that. You may not experience the spicy foods. Exactly the same. Wiz your neighbor but that'll be part of your diet certainly for me when I was a kid. My mom and my Stepdad used to have what they thought was their delicacy in the eighties was liver wrapped in Bacon. And I thought that was about the most disgusting thing you could possibly eat and now live wrapped in Bacon actually sounds pretty darn tasty and and that liver texture. That was so disgusting to me. As a ten-year-old seems pretty appealing now and that flavor is really wonderful. Do you know what changed. Is it just that you know. I'm I'm an adult and I've made made my brain decide that that's a good flavor. Well it's a good point. The most of of flavor is really about what the brain does with the input sensory input so part of it is getting the input but the big part in the in the frontal lobe is is where you have have emotions and memories and other things is where the brain processes this information and so your reaction to it and your ability to perceive it is based on experience. It's so you may have lots of positive memories or experiences or emotions relating to that food now where twenty years ago you didn't and that's all part and parcel of how the brain perceives flavor. So what goes on in the brain and how the brain takes those inputs imports and puts them together. People don't really understand yet. So the it's it's really brain function the controls the perception of of flavor. More than anything else. So maybe if you just told yourself every day that you really like Broccoli you could eventually convinced your tongue that your brain says you like it there risk my. It's called mind over matter. I'm not sure that works but you could certainly try it.

Headway Is Being Made But We cant slow down in race to end deadly Ebola outbreak in DR Congo,

"Is Connor Lennon from UN news. There are positive signs that the government's lead effort to end the deadly Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has turned the corner but there's no room for complacency. That's according to the. UN's emergency Ebola Response Coordinator David Gresley who was at U N headquarters on Wednesday used to take part in a ministerial level meeting to assess the more than year long efforts to end the second worst outbreak Evan he spoke to UN uses Matt Wells well. I think we're we're kind of at a more promising place than we certainly were a few months ago. When we saw a number of attacks against Ebola responders particularly in the city of Timbo uh things have advanced I think the main difference now is that not only as a greater security for responders input Timbo outside with Tim O. Vinnie. There are a lot of areas that were inaccessible in the past where where a lot of groundwork has been done to try to gain community acceptance for the response which has had a very positive impact getting into areas where the viruses circulated on a regular basis has allowed an effective response to to follow and we're seeing the cases decline and in some cases dramatically from very high levels down to practically zero so I'm increasingly optimistic with what we see in the Beanie Timbo area. We just need to see this extended to other areas where we're seeing the virus continued to circulate now a lot of different parts of the UN are are involved in this effort from health officials nice to to blue helmets from the mission is the response is joined up and as coordinated as it needs to be from your perspective. Well coordination is always a work in progress so I think it's it's coming along like I would like it to There's always more that you can work together on that. We continue to find ways to collaborate share information but I think there's a good good good spirit and I think the most important thing is that we've been able to drive that coordination down to to the lowest level where whereas most effective it's really the people on the ground that make the difference so whether it's. who or it's UNICEF effort the World Food Programme UNDP UNFPA all involved on this I o M is involved evolved on this We're seeing really good collaboration we WANNA bring our NGO partners on board all of course supporting the government of DRC who continues is to leave this response and and we're seeing I particularly I would cite the city of coordination there where I really think that has come together very nicely and it's also where we're seeing the lowest level of transmission despite the fact that this is where the epidemic generally began Health Organization chief Doc tendrils said on Wednesday the risk of spreading across the border of DRC was still high. What are you doing to try and help. This effort to limit at the risk of the way to do that of course is to eliminate the virus itself this is a very very urban area. people are surprised to hear the Timbale. Oh has more than a million people at these are large cities and it's important to understand that it's also very mobile population which allows movement between Benny Kimball but also to Ugandan border to Goma quite quite easily one or two day trip very routine and that that becomes the problem so what needs to be done is two or three three things is good preparedness around the border areas good preparedness in provinces adjacent in case the virus gets into that area. wore importantly is really just dry up the source of the virus in that central area. That's been feeding into the Ugandan border feeding into Goma and then the threat will go down. Considerably on vaccination has been some criticism. UN responses being too cautious to selective and their needs now to be a much wider wide a program initiated. What what's your view on the right way on that now. Well obviously vaccinations are very useful to think is also important to note. That vaccination by itself is probably not sufficient to end the epidemic. It can put a brake on on the spread slow it down but I in itself is probably not gonNA stop the epidemic but also also saves lives that's extremely important so that the best use of the vaccine is a constantly evolving question how best utilize that which populations are at greatest risk and I think as as Dr Tendrils says we learn as we go along as we adapt as we see the situation as new tools become available like therapeutics extremely extremely important tool to add to the arsenal against Ebola a bit by bit. We're making a bullet into a more normalized disease. and I think ultimately ultimately what we would like to see is that the bullet treatment centers themselves be seen as a place where you go to get cured of Bulla not die every bullet which is often the perception that totally turns and transforms the psychological aspect of bill as a disease. I mean Katie there have been some serious obstacles to be able to reach suspected suitcases and bill to clamp down on this outbreak most obviously the the ongoing violence at the hands of armed groups and the Phibro political situation in that region engine house the effort going there and in terms of countering that and also how successful the effort to try and win hearts and minds of people to get the trust of local people especially in rural communities where they are quite understand very very distrustful pretty much anybody in authority on the political side of the election of president. She's Katie with a long ways to offsetting the the politicization of Boll back at the end of last year when people have been put timber were not allowed to vote for the presidency and there's a I take a new opportunity and and you see it even talking with local militia groups of an interest in finding a reconciliation with the government in a way to move forward. It's very early early in that process but it's a different attitude at this point in time that makes it a little bit easier to work with so I think all the political side some very positive things now on the on the security side. It's a little bit different different. That's a mix you have on the one hand the Allied Defense Forces a Ugandan led group. That's based in the DRC has used extreme means of of attack only military police targets civilian as well terrorist acts basically and killing tens and sometimes hundreds of people full That's a very serious threat that disrupted the response late last year that has been less of a problem since MANISCO together with the Congolese army led a an offensive against the group in late last year November which pushed them back far enough to longer and have a direct impact but they remain in ongoing danger to the response and military action will still be required to keep keep them at bay the more domestic militia groups groups locally known as my my are different kind of threat they they are very much embedded in the communities. They're not in opposition to the communities and they are very suspicious and distrustful of national security forces which is where a problem comes often in the communities. There's a big distrust over over the Bulla response itself so it's a difficult combination but not an impossible and and engagement of the right people who have influence over leaders of these groups can make a difference to try to open up access quite frankly where Ebola has circulated for a period of weeks six people have died from Bulla that to demystify and takes the myth away because people see real and then then it's another opportunity for engagements very tragic way for that to happen but what we're seeing particularly benefit timbo areas that many of the areas that were inaccessible where there was transmission one by one or opening up with acceptance and that's the key is acceptance. It's not overcoming insecurity with acceptance you get security with acceptance you get the ability to treat people people with acceptance you get to bring this to an end most recently in in the city of Benny there was one area health area that had the highest rate of transmission of any healthier in the country twice that of the second highest that was only a matter of weeks ago at the beginning of August by middle middle of August with a lot of work on the ground with governments and an NGO and UN support that area opened up to full acceptance now. There's hardly any case of Ebola there in one by one. We're seeing these health areas come around for that. and that's leading to what we're seeing on. The dramatic decline in cases is between Benny and Timbo the very area that fed all these other localities in Uganda Goma on the Rwandan border and South Cube so we need to they do now the same province which is now has the largest number of cases in the country to gain the confidence and acceptance of populations there that's incomplete and that I work at least intensifies we can protect those communities but also prevents the spread east and West from tour. I mean that's a real threat as we speak today today. So what more support what will help does the government and the UN led response needed a stage from the international community. I think first of all it's important to note the the the technical leadership of government for the EVOLA response is extremely well qualified. They know he bulla as well as anybody. In the world led by Professor William Bay so they have the technical expertise what's required is the kind of support that I've described of course financial support ongoing support and coordination locally. I think is important. The neutrality and impartiality the peacekeeping force brings national security forces often cannot bring in that kind of environment. These are all different aspects that that are important. I what I think we need to see as well as a continued improvement and preparedness sadness both in the country and outside we really don't want this to spread any further and if the the important thing is to detect early if you detect early rapid response as possible and you close it down very very quickly so we need to make sure that happens and the and the other thing is really required. Is there still areas that are inaccessible where there's no known transmission but we're not sure because we're not there isn't endemic diseases yeah well. It's not there's no evidence that it's in these areas but we should be there to make sure it has not come in and circulating quietly secondly it would be good to get into these areas in the event that infection does come into that area better to be there ahead of time working with communities supporting them in other ways so that when the infection does come where a far better position to deal with quickly quickly rather than allowing to come up as another hot spot possible the international emergency state status that the disease has now the outbreak has it at this point that that could be lifted some time in the in the near future as soon as it's a radically aided and it's clear that it's it's a radical that of course that will be lifted at the appropriate time I think we have several well several weeks at a minimum to go. We need to get probably well into the end of the year. There's a forty two day period at at the end of the last case before. It's finally declared so we're we're weeks and weeks away from that one thing. That's not require right now is complacency. Success is good but it's incomplete and it's always at risk and we can see an explosion of cases if we if we stop the the kind of support that's going on. We need to be everywhere all the the time with everything going so we just need that kind of support internationally to keep going until we finish the job one last thing. I would think that's important is that we need to start thinking about the postie bullet period. It's not too early to do that. We need to start thinking what we're going to do to support number one survivors because they will continue to have health problems after this is over secondly. There's the possibility that they still carry residual amounts of the virus. You can have a new cases uses. come up later on so the surveillance system needs to be there to make sure that that's detective quickly probably more importantly is the recovery of the of the systems on the ground whether it's health education have been affected by this and then a broader support to the public health system. The bulla outbreak of nature of this outbreak is a function of poor governance and poor public health systems. If those causes are not dealt with effectively then this the whole thing could happen once again so we have to the root cause of why this became such a large epidemic.

Is when Kimble's uncle Terry came to help the family, and then just as abruptly vanished after Kimball said he won the lottery and ran off to Mexico could Terry have shed light on what happened to Kimball son late now and booth who surely wanted to prosecute Scott Kimball for tempted murder was frustrated how far along were you were you ready to press charges now sister, horrific crime that he had committed on his son, and we didn't have the right amount of evidence that we could prove that he had committed that crime against his son. I had always felt incredibly troubled that this young child was so hurt. And he didn't have Justice. So when detective.

"There's a lot of great things we can say about the dude. Right. But there are times where he just doesn't make seal say that doesn't make sense. Okay. Yeah, I get that I didn't I got that trophy already got the little pin of being an interim chant what's the point of doing it again? The point is you're guaranteed that in quotes, because it doesn't always guarantee you, but should you stay healthy pretty much guaranteed to fight against the undisputed, and one other thing you get your champion you get paper cuts and what he say, I'm here to break necks, and what was the other thing cash checks? All right. So he's there to catch a check. Guess what the Czechs bigger if you're getting some of the points regardless of its the SPN era there. So they're not selling as well or not. You still get that additional check. Plus, if you want to be technical about it, you get to wear the all black, and you get another ten thousand for Reebok. To, you know, it's not hundreds of thousand is not million. But it's yet another check. So that part, I would say I disagree with because again he can fight cowboy. But nobody's really the only thing you were proclaiming. It is the people's main event. That's cute. All right. I get it. A lot of people wanna see that one more than anything. But no one's really proclaimed it as I Sala number one because the just doesn't really do that as often. So I that's why I would just again wholeheartedly disagree. But yeah, that's just it right there. Listen. All right. We have a few more cuts. But right now, we're going to move on to some other stuff Kimball slice to Mark three year anniversary from his passing and he was pretty big in the sport. "That comes agree to three year deal closer, Craig Kimball. The deals were forty three million includes a fourth year option as first reported by MLB network confirmed by ESPN kimbrel free agent. He reports the cubs on Thursday for physical. The expectation is he'll be ready to pitch before June twentieth. A source has sold ESPN's Jeff passan the pitcher with three hundred plus save since his debut in twenty eleven he's a seven-time all-star Trey wingo like this beautiful move for the cubs, they've had all kinds of closer issues. I think they lead the league majors most blown saves a Pedro strop right now is they're closed. I think they're gonna move him back to be the setup man wants kimberlin. They're ugly. What's one thing. Interesting about this. He should be ready to pitch by June twentieth. Shouldn't you be ready to pitch right now? Yeah. You know they'll go through the simulated game. And all that. But, but I gotta believe from the salary side of this wall. Right. I mean the expectation what he ended up. With only about fourteen million. I know he'll survive, but maybe case was gonna make a little more than that. You. All right. Lots of Rama noodles for that. You know. Lift him up in prayer through his time of struggle. But this will come back, by the way, the, the youngest guy ever for three hundred saves and some he couldn't find the until June. This will be topic of discussion

Cantlay canters to Memorial Tournament title

"And this memorial tournament updates to service a Wesley communities Kimball find angel Miller lite. Patrick can't lay started the day, four shots back. But after a final round eight under par sixty four. He finishes the memorial as the champion can't Lee at nineteen under wins by two shots. Feels really, really good to finish it off. How did today I knew I had a little bit of a mountain to climb to start the day. Couple guys ahead of me. Two and four shots in guys played really well and closed off tournaments. So I knew that I needed to come out fire gonna make a bunch of birdies. And fortunately, I did eight birdies to be exact no bogeys. He beats Adam Scott by two who played very well himself scotch out a foreigner sixty eight but seventeen under was not quite enough. A little tough to Patrick today, but I was only a couple off in the putts on the loss to halls for very close. A third round leader. Martin timer was in front headed to the back nine but he bogeyed twelve and thirteen lost the lead to Canley timer. Ends up third wall tiger. Woods, final round sixty seven he surged from twenty six place, going into the day to ninth winding up at nine under par. The goal today was to get to double digits and. Get something positive going into the open. But overall it was it was a great day. I the ball really well and made

"But as the you have the chance to beat up a guy that everybody wants to see beat them, not everybody. You know, what I mean, there's a big portion of the moral people wanna wanna see this guy. Get beat up. And he's in the position to do that. And I I asked him like have you been hearing a lot about that. And he was basically like that's all he's heard about is just people want him to go carry out what they basically want to see done to him. So a unique position. I mean, he's he's a guy would not he's sitting on the big stage. They they had they had, you know, rows of seats. And then there's one one seat on the stage. And that's where he's at. And it was it's kind of a funny thing that guy has one UFC fighting. It's a loss and here he is, you know, basically sitting above everybody else and during that part of the scrum. I don't think you can compare this one hundred percent. But in a way, it's kind of like the Kimble's lies set pitcher Sally where when set the wind. It was like, well he was him as like the Kimball slice Euler Hillary. Yeah, Kimball do so. Yeah. It kind of feels like that way. Like, if if Alan is able to achieve that, you know, he'll be that be arguing intriguing too. Because he's also the most credentialed guy. He's that Greg hardy fought by. And that's what I'm saying. You know, if dependent on the fight goes. But if he goes. Right through them. I mean, you have to almost wonder like what what how will this play? I feel like this is uncharted territory. Really because we have not seen guys with that kind of passed. I guess I can recall maybe you guys can recall it, but not a guy who was a name like that with that guy who comes in the and how it's you know, how we treat him as he goes on. If he keeps winning it's a whole different ballgame. So it'd be very interested in see just talking to media members though, such a polarizing figure that you're I feel like it's going to take a long time to thought media much less fans. I feel like a lot of the media's just like absolutely not. Yeah. And there's some guys that go into the UFC like the have a big name, and you can tell they're kinda just going in get like a one and done type of deal thing. Like when you talk to Greg hardy, he he has planned like a long career like he's like, oh, yeah. In two thousand nine when this amount of fights, and I'll be knocking on the title. Like, he he he's in this for the long run. Those interesting to me is a magin. Greg hardy had never played football and the domestic violence situation..
