"News radio 1000 FM 97 7 you're information station. We're two weeks away from the general election in one race that still considered a toss up is the one for Secretary of State. Kim Wyman resigned to take a job with the Biden administration and governor inslee appointed Democrat Steve Hobbs to fill the post. Now he's facing independent Julie Anderson Northwestern news radio is Jeff pojo, it got some analysis from democratic strategist Kathy Allen and Republican strategist, Randy pebble. I think it's looking pretty good for Julie. I got to tell you that in terms of this, what people tell me is that they are looking at this race mostly to see who is it that talks elections that understands elections that isn't trying to do something that's going to just favor their partisan position. But it's actually going to try to do it so they're meeting them. The probably the best different causes of democracy that we're trying to uphold that which is something that we're supposed to be honoring. The fact is, is that I think Julie has done a good job. And at the debate, I was quite impressed. I was very, very clearly watching and I have to say that I thought she had command from the beginning, just talking a little bit about all of the issues that seemed to be in her purview as the Secretary of State. She reminds me, ironically, Republican Kim Wyman. Jeff, the election provides one of the certainties that we have in November. And that is that for the first time since 1964, the voters Washington state will not select a Republican to be the Secretary of State. It's the longest winning streak in the country is Republicans have held that office in 64. The reason that no Republican is going to win is because they didn't make it through the primary. In part, because Jay inslee decided, I would much rather take Steve Hobbs out of the Washington state Senate and park him in a position that he is not qualified to hold at the Secretary of State spot. And I can fill the state Senate seat with the Democrat that will vote for my crazy stuff. And that's what occurred. And now you have Steve Hobbs running for election after being appointed to the spot. And he doesn't have any background in elections. Julie Anderson does, she runs the pierce county election system. And running as a nonpartisan, she draws a contrast with Hobbes that no one else could do. And I suspect she's going to win. I think it looks pretty good at here. And even though what's happened is I've Steve Hobbes has raised another 300,000 more than Julie Julie's raised plenty of money to get the word out. This democratic strategist Kathy Allen and Republican strategist Randy pep talking with Jeff Poe jollof. For more, subscribe to the northwest politics available wherever you get your podcasts. Yes, we recognize what he has done for this nation for black Americans, and frankly, for all of us, we all benefit from equality. We have all heard the I have a dream speech G. We were talking earlier in the show and the show meeting about what we wanted to play from Dr King and you sent me a cut. Him talking about how to actually help people out. And I thought it was important to play today. So I'm gonna play that for you all to listen to me. America freed the slaves and 19. I mean 18 63 through the manned space and proclamation. Of Abraham Lincoln, but gave the slaves no land. I'm nothing in reality, and it is a matter of fact. To get started on. At the same time, America was giving away millions of acres of land in the West and the Midwest, which meant that that was a willingness to give the white peasants from Europe and economic base. And yet it refused to give its black peasants from Africa who came here in voluntarily in chains and had worked free for 244 years. Any kind of economic base and so emancipation for the Negro was really freedom, toe hunger. It was freedom. To the winds and rains of heaven. It was freedom without food. Dida land to cultivate and therefore was freedom and famine at the same time, and when white Americans tell the Negro to lift himself by his own bootstraps. They don't They don't look over the legacy of slavery and segregation. I believe we ought to do all we can and seek the lift ourselves our own bootstraps, But It's a cruel jest to say to a bootless man that he ought to lift himself his own bootstraps and many Negroes by the thousands and millions have been left bootless as a result of all of these years of oppression and as a result of a society That deliberately made his color, a stigma and something worthless and degrading. And basically what you heard was is that was a reporter had asked him to explain why black Americans couldn't succeed. Like other racial groups and Mike, I'll just give this one last point to say this over the last, especially two years. Um Dr Martin Luther King is someone that I have studied so much over the last two years. I mean, there's so much information about that man that is not given out in normal school curriculums. 1967 poll reflected and I wanna keep this simple and this is very important in 1967 a year before he was assassinated. The poll reflected that he was the most hated man in America. Let me repeat. Dr Martin Luther King was the most hated man in America. So the same folks that continue to quote him today. This is it would be would have been a lot tougher to quote him yesterday, and it's easier to quote someone who is no longer living no longer trying to go after these policies that are have been continued to be put in place to oppress people, and I want to just one last thing. He didn't give his life he was assassinated. So that just lets you know the type of person in the type of fear that America had over him into some of the same things that we're talking about today. We're glossing over them by saying he just had a dream. Yes, he did have a dream, but he was much more than that, Mike. I couldn't agree more and and people forget about how radical those ideas were then, And maybe that's a sign at least a small sign of a bit of growth that we actually have. Ah, holiday now, right? I mean, even though this holiday is not anywhere near adequate for what was done in the past. The nice thing about it is that it does feel like it least it's an awareness step forward, if not an actual policy. Step forward, And I think that those are important things room because you're right if you go back and look at the time then and anyone who hasn't who hasn't read the Taylor branch Uh, biography, three part biography of Martin Luther King really make it a point to have you're the type of person who reads that type of stuff. It is fascinating because, like G said, ah, much more nuanced, interesting and kind of radical guy that people don't because they focus on one speech, and he was so much more than that. It's coming up at 9 30. We will have Secretary of state Kim Wyman. She will join the show and the one question I have was Is she surprised with the fallout over.

"The Jason Rancho. Lots of news is happening all around the world and right here at home, so Find out what's running what's trending on the campaign trail Yesterday, the cult for governor campaign filed the lawsuit in King County Superior Court against the Secretary of state, Kim Wyman, here in Washington state, looking for injunctive relief and demand for an audit on the paper ballots, the vote counting machines and the results. And King Clark Thurston Pierce kids up and scheduled counties. The campaign is represented by Dr Stephen A. Pigeon who joins me now welcome to the show. Well, thanks, Jason. Straight to be with you. So sort of big picture first. In a nutshell. What are the allegations that you're making? Well, The allegations are that Secretary of State Lyman ran a slipshod election. I mean, that's basically what it comes down to. She has there's demands and duties placed upon her by Article six, Section one of the state constitution. It requires her to take steps to ensure that we have a free and fair election. She didn't do those things. And we have hard evidence of the fact that she didn't get you know, by simply running a opposed to report we have determined, for instance, that they mailed out balanced over 10,000 dead. Of which almost 8000 voted. I mean, that alone is sufficient grounds to claim a corrupt election now. I have to tell you, Jason. We're not sitting here saying, Look, we've got enough votes here to show that the cope on the election. What we are saying is, is that when you go back and look at the rhetoric from the old Bush be freak or case, I don't remember that case but back in 2000. The Supreme Court came down with a very interesting conclusion, and the conclusion is that the right to vote is protected by the 14th amendment. Once you open it up, you're subject to equal protection. That is to say my vote if it's lawful vote gets to be counted as one vote. Not some percentage of one vote. And for every illegal boat that you allowed to enter into the system. It diminishes my vote from one vote to 99 point Something 96 point something. Whatever that is. And by doing so, The secretary of State has a duty to make sure that that is a demented mus amount and she didn't do that. And instead, there were 331,000 people who had moved on their database that they didn't bother to update And a least 100 and 71,000 of them moved out of state. Macon's stitch to Shin requires him to have to be living in the precinct where they're voting for the 30 days prior to the election. So what data base? Do you look just so people understand? Because obviously on the back end at the secretary of state cider with stateside they do their monthly maintenance of their lists, and they're going through a whole bunch of different things and Looking at different data points from different sources. And, you know they're doing things on the back. End. So on your end, Where are you looking at? The data. Well, the data that was available on the Secretary of state's website on November 3rd was downloaded. And it was downloaded again on November 29th. And they didn't update that data until December 1st when Kim Wyman certified the election That date is today that we have used for what's called an NGO. A analysis new change of address analysis. Let's run through the postal system. We're using that we're using their database, which, by the way, wasn't updated. In fact, we know that they didn't run it against the master death list. We know that they didn't run it against the failed I d check to make sure that people who were not United States citizens were not voting. They didn't run that check. Didn't run it against of the newly changed address people from the post office. We know it because when we ran it, we found 331,000 anomalies. So the anomalies What? What do they look like? So, for example, do you consider an anomaly, for example, like a misspelling? Or did you go through and look anomaly by anomaly, And these are people who legitimately would've at least appear that they completely moved out of the state. We're out of a county or whatever bullshit. 171,000 moved out of the state and many of them voted in two states. They also did not bother the check for duplicate ballots, and they had people who were open walking into the secretary of state's office with duplicate ballots, and I've got to And this is it was completely ignored. So you had you know what was what? The practice of the secretary of state based on her own data. Was slip shot. And it was slipshod to the point that it allowed. You know, they had five people voted whose birth dates were in the 18 hundreds. One person had birthdate of 0001. There were three people who were over the age of 120 that's older than the oldest. No one living person on earth that voted in this election was accounted the 10,000. Well, yeah, the ballot was accepted, but but that's so And that's the sort of the question that we always have. We've obviously heard the stories of people getting different ballots. And when we've had Secretary Wyman on the point is only one of the ballots is supposed to be valid and you're not supposed to send to and there are systems in place on the back end. Should someone try to send in both? And only one is supposed to get counted. Yeah, well, you know that's done through signal. Signature verification. But when you take the signature verification envelope, and you trash it and all you have remaining is a pallet. How do you know which one is duplicate? Move? Which one? Is it? When you go to do an audit, and you're looking at just the plain ballot, you know which ones were actually put placed in there on November 3rd and which ones came in between November 4th in December, 1st Have, you know? How can you check and this is the thing. The point is, is that when you look the lawsuit, you'll see it. There's a federal standard called Haba. Right. Help America Vote Act 2002. The federal standard requires The secretary of state to maintain all information concerning the election for an audit capability. They didn't do that. We know they didn't do that. And we know that the secretary of State has been patching up what was a slipshod election and it was so slipshod. This election was so slipshod. And so contrary to what the legislature intended as an election as to make it an unlawful election. This is the point we're making if you're going to run an unlawful election, if you don't care whether or not that the votes really count, and you don't care how the votes are going to be counted. You don't care that the dead are voting. You don't care that people who are not United States citizens are voting. You don't care that people who are out of state residents of other states are voting and you don't really care for the people of filling in duplicate ballots. And why am I running the cost of a campaign to campaign for this office? It's fraudulent to the entire campaign. This is the point we're making in this lawsuit that you know we don't have a whole lot of due process rights when it comes to an election, But the due process rights we do have appear under haba. The appearance or Article six Section one of the Constitution and the Secretary of State has a duty to cross the keys and dot.
