"I watched him in the outfield. And and it certainly. He's fast and he's got a tremendous arm But i think the one thing that that you notice is that any good out to the ball all good. He made a nice catch monday night. Going into the wall showed that he was pretty fearless Making that catch. There seems to be a communication problem out there And and i don't know if he's actually even talking to the other outfielders but there was a ball. Mike trout ball last week. That was hit out to the warning. Track should have been caught He was playing left. The oley taveras playing center ball fell to the ground Last night or monday night there was a ball hit to the wall in right center. Not quite to the to the warning track Joy gallo seemed to take maybe he was supposed to take it. He ran behind a adults at the point and adults did make the catch finally Do you get the idea that there is an issue out there with communications we'll also board chicago. That would have been a above average cash but also looked like there was some degree of of hesitancy. And i asked. Chris woodward about this and i mean he his response was i wouldn't wanna run into a dole. He's i. I think the biggest right now. I think the biggest issue is probably this. He played very little centerfield in in spring training and has played very little center field with the guys who are on his team. And so i think there is still something of a of a getting to know you and in a feeling out process there I think last night the ball. It certainly looked like joey was aware and the that adults did. Call them off. Maybe it was a little bit late. But joey got joey. Got the word in kind of backed off And so. I think that some of that is is going to be a work in progress. Because i don't think the rangers plan for garcia to be center fielder They spent all of spring looking at at liotta. Verison in ally white and centerfield. And so now you've you've kinda changed on the fly in so should they have spent a little bit more time on a since centerfield they needed to get a dose at bats. That was the main thing that they needed to see in spring training. Because it's going to be as bats at his bat that keeps them in a while And and so. I'm not that again. I'm not that concerned. The fact of the matter is he makes he makes athletic players out there. He's got a good arm and he's he's got good range and he takes as he said good routes and he certainly was fairly e should no fear going into the wall last night The other thing for me that has shown up a little bit is a and again. This is being very picky in but but we're talking about a guy with with star talent. And so i'm i'm breaking it down on a on a store level I feel like there's some base running stuff that's going to have to be addressed because he isn't above average. He's got above average speed. But i feel like his jumps on the three stolen bases. Apps have not been very good. It seems to me like a his first step isn't great. It's almost like he turns and pits. Instead of a crossover step. So i think those are those are the two things that are that are going to have to be addressed but listen. The number. one overriding issue here has been that. He has shown far more plate discipline than ever been seen during his time. With saint louis or in their organization he showed much more willingness to hit the ball to right field. And i think last week he hit hit nine balls put nine balls in play and the guys who hit balls harder than him in the big leagues were fernanda. Tease carlos santana. And i'm losing one other name but it was some guys who with with big time chops. This guy hits the ball hard when he makes contact as speaking of people who are not hitting the ball. hard when they make contact. That's the guy next week about their joey gallo. That's been a a real disappointment this year after sucha hot start to spring training When he just looked like he was really on and it looked like well. Okay they finally gotten the the globe y filled out of his head. And everything's going to be good for joy. And we'll see what he does. And i i i i want to say that. I don't want us call. Joey's season to this point a disappointment. i think it's a little bit of a head scratcher but i think there's also been a real fine line between between being ultra disciplined and getting a little too passive at the plate. I think over the last week. He's been a little bit passive though the number of called third. Strikes is a little bit alarming. There have been eight in the in the past week. Only ten on the season but eight in the past week for me I feel like joey maybe has said you know i'm not gonna get any pitches to hit so i'm going to have to go up there and look for walks and that can't be his approach either and so it. There's you know there's this fine line that you have to dial back in and he's going to have to be willing to put some of those balls in play The i guess the disappointing thing is that there there have been there have been some pitches to hit that he has either missed or his not put into play.

"They wouldn't be related to what we're talking about today, so I'll answer the doctor that you don't have to. We're going to continue to follow the guys that we get from Dr D and individual see with us of it is very reckless for people to be talking about. Asking about mass mandates when we were taken away when we boss that many people over 900 people cope. We don't look into a crystal ball and see whether they're going to change things. They change him when they announced Thank you next question. Right, So he cuts her off that boy next door, and she said, I have a follow up. He just he just ignored her. S O. That is again. It's reckless. It's records of people. We're talking about the lifting a mask mandate outdoors. Where's the science behind this? You know the other day at this stupid climate gathering where you had approximate 20 world leaders Virtual. This was a virtual climate summit. Yes, it was the on Lea Persson on Lee World leader to be wearing a mask. You guessed it, Joey, be You didn't need to wear the mask. He was by himself. Soon. Maybe there was some secret service agents in the room. But he was by himself, and he was the on Lee one out of 20. World leaders. To be wearing a mask. This is virtue, signaling This is you know again, I better show them the symbolism over substance. He was also the only world leader not to have his country's flag. In the background. Now, maybe was there. We just couldn't see it, But every other country every other world leader had either their flag or some representation of their country. Joe Biden, the on Lee won Without a flag. On wearing a mask. This was nothing more than fearmongering. Which is going to discourage people from getting vaccinated. You know, it should be the opposite, Get a get a vaccine and get rid of the mask. There's absolutely no science behind any of this. And today we're being told the CDC may lift There were the requirement that people were or the suggestion or guideline that people wear a mask outdoors. It's just absurd. By the way in Michigan. Two year old Children are now officially required to mask up The Wicked Witch of the Midwest. Gretchen Whitmer. Said the new rule took effect. Yesterday. Kids under the age of five were previously not required to wear a mask. That order was handed down by the Health Department director Elizabeth Hurdle. Another unelected bureaucrat. I did notice a marriage. Scott's press conference the other day, said the he told Dr D Doctor's Terraza that she didn't have to answer the question. No answered for you. Of course, we know that Mary Scott hasn't accomplished background and science on by the way right after that pronouncement about the masks and outdoors and so on and so forth. It was the Hopkins, one of the Hopkins doctors that is advising Mayor Scott As told Fox 45 quote. I don't think you get very much benefit from wearing a mask in an area that is natural, social distancing and his good ventilation on its own the epidemiological data Shows that outdoor transmission is extremely rare. I don't think they're wearing the mask as much benefit. I think this is something that you'll you'll see the guidance change. Yeah, maybe as early as today. But the mayor, he wouldn't go there. No, he's gonna Is going to continue to or require people wear a mask. And I just think you know, everybody all just ditched their masks. You see the head coach of the new head coach of L s U Woman's basketball team. Their name is Kim Mulkey. Kim has one like three championships for Baylor on Ellis You She's from Louisiana Ellis. "Amy how is it howard. How're you doing because this has been a lot to to take this week. Oh it's been a great. you know. This is what we want right. It's like i can't keep up with it and it's exactly what we want and need law this time of year. This is why. I always say. I'm just show me the final rosters this year. That's a little bit tougher right but You know just hanging on -tario sitting at sitting at home now that we're back in st home lockdown and and so i guess in some ways it's been a little bit entertaining and fun to to follow everything. There's something happening outside of our homes and it's Wnba training camp which got underway yesterday on sunday. It's going to continue for the next two weeks on. I think we have like a week of practices before the season begins in earnest on may fourteenth. So we're right on the precipice of the wnba season however the biggest news of the week came from the college basketball ranks. Where kim mulkey who has been a baylor. Since i was seven years old is leaving to go to l. s. u. Mulkey is from louisiana louisiana tech. So she's going home. But this is like shocking. I heard i had we heard whispers love it and i was like there's no it's actually happening and then it hap- yeah i mean hello. Sec to me. Like i'm excited for the number. Next season alright. He usually takes me like you know everyone. Just kinda takes a little chill pill after college. And i'm like let's go because this kind of shakes up right like i listen you and i i think we. Acc who for obvious reasons. You went to miami. I don't know like the. Sec is like an pac twelve but the sec to me just like. Let's not even talk about the ball and like strategy and the game like just like not the draw. Just that kind of all the drama. Yeah you're just you're adding the adult link. The expectation is going to be for. Lsu to be on top quickly right. But when you look at other teams especially south carolina your arkansas or so many great georgia. There's so many kentucky. I keep going on like every team right. Kind of got me. Storylines alabama ole miss like. They're all kind of really pushing the trend up. And all of a sudden coaches coming in like hold on and by the way. The rumor does that nikki. Fergus is leaving to be the president for the aces. That obviously hasn't been headline book. That's definitely part of the whispering. That i'm seeing i don't know about using but so it's gonna be an interesting couple couple a couple of days. I think congratulations to coach. You get to go home right. Seattle eighty is back in the home state. You know and that to me is like i think to. It takes a lot to leave a place when you've been there for twenty years and you built up so much but going home is always one of those things like if you're if you're going home and then to a good program that's gonna i'm sure gonna pay you a ton of money. Then yeah i it too so good for gift for coach. Mulkey been in the news a lot recently for not the best reasons but she is back in the us for a good reason interesting though that if nikki does go to the acis because that's kind of the hasn't been a move we've seen often I don't know the whole situation alcyone professional situation. Lsu feel like if they had the chance to kim mulkey. Whoever was a coach there. You know you kinda got a guy take take. Take your pill. Because it's kim mulkey but if she moved to the wnba that just a really interesting move from like a college head coach moving to the wnba because they see a better future there. That's a good sign for where this league is going right. Transfer portal scant. We're back in the transfer of the coaches. We should make sure. Kim mulkey sits out of here. Yeah we had some overall conversations about why college coaches may be deciding that they're not loving it as much anymore but anyway just get on and not and that is not confirmed. That is just rumors out there. So so who knows who knows what's gonna happen. But i match and by the way just i know that if there's people are going to get really mad at me because i know it's not like purple and gold but Whatever the technical name for those colors are like kim o'keefe in iraq. Some fits on the sideline in Also like selfishly. of course. I'm excited to see that. I'm really excited to you. Know it's purple and gold. They'll have scrambled preventable. Not state for say. Remember it's not it's more it you said a crimson. Whatever they you guys are fun just going half okay. Let's talk about wnba. Let's get into the some training camps that we find really interesting There is i think just as a preliminary in matter as my dog is going crazy for something the as a preliminary matter. The every training camp here is going to be insane. There are nine spots and there are too many towns of players. And there's every team is going to have to make a tough cut. Every team has a player that i'm projecting to be cut. That is really good. And if you wanna know more in about each team's cap situation and kind of what's happening make sure you go to her hoops. That's that's upside dot com and you can read richard cohen's article which come out tomorrow so make sure you subscribe there. Because he'll go into more depth. We're going to go as much as we can in thirty minutes. Let's start with the dallas wings so the wings aren't there. Let's start at the top. I'll just say this quick. It's a great place to start because there's going to be trickled down. They cannot keep all these players and other teams are probably wanna up a couple of these players so great places start sergei one that we've all talked about because just at the top. We're not talking about players who have come in just for training. We're talking about players who were drafted in the second round. The first round potentially not making this team because right now also the debt the wings can go twelve players. I'm not gonna read off all the names because you know most of them like teams dot is going to make the team. Try the team a walker years going to make the team but we have on the outside. We have a two spots here for mariah jefferson. Bell alary dana evans have meghan gaza. Assuming it assuming that awad career comes over that is the situation. I don't think marina may break is on that line four players who you got to of well. i definitely can't see them parting riot. Jefferson right. Like i just. I can't see that..

For what that's worth and just to get you up to date on what's going on. There's a lot of talk from the nfl. Insiders that julio jones could be on the move could be traded and you probably according to my source would have to give up the second round pick. He's thirty two years of age and he's a future hall of famer. Would we say that mclovin. Julio jones future okay. Yeah i just wanna make sure not quite sure what it's a hall of famer and what is not no. I think he's really universally considered a hall of fame. He's had a lot of big numbers and he's perspective is he better than calvin johnson. That's a great question because neither one anything although julio did play in a super bowl both incredibly quiet during their the neither talk at all. Yeah paulie they're quite similar dan. Julio jones started a little slow in its career because of injuries out of college. I three years. He was good not great but then he had about a six year. Run where six pro bowls to all pros. He had a couple of seasons with sixteen hundred seven hundred yard season. He had eighteen hundred art season. Sixteen hundred he led the league in yardage a lot so he had a ba- basically a six year run where he was the best. Like defacto best. And i think he's His salary is team friendly this upcoming year then after that i think he makes about fifteen sixteen million dollars. But if you're new england if you were baltimore seattle what would it take second round. Pick the got a draft. Pick in the fifties. Would you give that up for julio jones. I would if you're ready to win now like yes baltimore you gotta get some receivers here mclovin. But aren't you trying to build this thing around matt ryan now like give him every chance. If you're not gonna take a quarterback you're gonna take the best weapon away from annual. But daddy i guess you add another weapon you're going to bring in kyle pits unless you bring in. If you bring in a quarterback then i could see where you would trade. Julio jones i get that but if you're bringing in kyle pits what i wanna keep. Julio jones i'd i'd wanna keep him for this year. See if you can do some damage there. We'll give you our best and worse to the weekend. Todd i'll start with you. Best worst of the weekend best of the weekend actually watched a lot of texas kentucky. Women's volleyball selling. I was watching lakers. Mavs flipped over for a little while. How could you leave the program that you've built as you're about to go hall of fame. I don't understand this at all. I feel it's a little disloyal. At was a shocker. I'm thinking you're not leaving. You build something you've won three national titles there. And she was a staunch defender of baylor. Everything that had to do with baylor cedeno counter best and worst my best of the weekend. Did you see there. Was this crazy crash at talladega. Joey logano went airborne and a whole bunch of cars crashed I think actually one of the drivers are still in the hospital. They have this view. Joe mcconnell's car flipped over bubba wallace car. And it's this really crazy view. And after it bubble wallace said. Trust me my underwears in worse shape than my car. I guess you have to have a sense of humor when you're doing something reckless. Your and my other best of the weekend was also you have to sixty one I don't know who these guys are. James mattis north dakota north dakota state of course sam houston delaware jackson. No worst if you're wondering how pitcher can go a whole game without allowing a hit and not have a no hitter. Welcome to twenty twenty one in major league baseball. the diamondbacks. Madison bumgarner pitched a complete game without allowing a hit and since he was part of a doubleheader those games go seven innings and apparently. That's not an official no hitter. They had a committee that they formed back in. One thousand nine hundred ninety one and said that a game had to be nine innings or more to count as a no hitter. I have no idea these days. A doubleheader extra innings adjustments still hard to get used to run around second base to start the tenth. It doesn't feel like real baseball in. The rules have changed but i will say this. The nfl gets all this attention. Because of rule changes or interpretation of rule. They get a lot of attention a lot of publicity. Maybe this will help baseball but madison bumgarner was pretty impressive. I'm not sure if yesterday's official outcome matters one way or another to him but it definitely feels weird to say. He didn't go to no hitter when nobody gotta hit if you had a seven inning exit. So let's say you're pitching the second game the no hit or the double header and it's zero zero in the seventh and you have no hitter and you throw nine innings of no hit ball so two innings that are extra innings and you win one to nothing. Is that a no hitter. Because seven is an official game. A double header. If you go nine. Does that count. As a no hitter is harvey haddix credited with.

Wouldn't be ashamed to keep covert testing. And then you got kids that end up having test positive or something. They don't get to play in the final four. So you need to just forget the covert tests and let the four teams that airplane and each final four go battle it out. So there's that. As for Baylor on the court, the men's team in the final of the South Regional Monday the top seeded Bears third seeded Arkansas, Little with the right wing stuck like a five dribbles into the paint. "The Indiana fever coach Kim Mulkey the three time women's NCAA champion Baylor five time division two coach of the year Barbara Stevens of Bentley university four time NCAA coach of the year Eddie Sutton and former Houston Rockets coach Rudy Tomjanovich a two time NBA title winner meanwhile here on game night on ESPN radio ESPN app and Sirius XM channel eighty Chris Carlin Michael eaves John Anderson earlier this week double Sweeney they of course head coach at Clemson checked in on when he thinks the season will start for college football let's get to work and let's let's go play this best case scenario and I'm I think that's what's going to happen I don't have any doubt that that I manage zero doubt that that we're going to play that fans are gonna be packed in the valleys gone be rocking and and you know we're going to be pushing the back at I don't have you down as always on I guess is is is is is that all right there I mean this is America manta I'm being we may we stormed the beaches of Normandy we set people that we've set up our car broke ground March before we we we this this is the greatest country in the greatest people the history of the planet we've created a high phone that can send up I can sit here and talk to all you people all these different places we got the smartest people in the world listen we will rise up and we're going to we're going to check this thing right the team will get back to our lives that's a long time away I mean this is April third so I got one focus and that's as big a Tigers in camp in August and get ready George jacket and given the value in September and I can't wait Sir so celebrate wild Tigers fates that we got is an acronym acronym for Tigers stands for this is gonna in real sense so that's the only mindset we got all the rest of that stuff I'll let a ball of smart people figure out all the doomsday scenarios I got one scenario and that is running down the hill and chicken often about so this was on a teleconference earlier this week and I understand wanting to be optimistic and having that mindset because when you're a head coach and you're trying to set the tone for your program for an entire state and a lot of ways in South Carolina with Clemson you are going to be as optimistic as he is at this point I do think we're going a bit overboard when we start talking about the iPhone invention and all that stuff because one has nothing to do with the other and it's it's so difficult and and maybe I'm not even trying to be pessimistic guys you mean Mike when I think about it my only problem with all of the plans that people are trying to make and the assumptions that we're making are just based on complete unknowns at this point that was the first time I've heard that sound has become a business I I've heard what he had said but I've not heard him actually say it and it's worse than I thought it was and I don't I'm not trying to be flippant here that thing was full of so much coach speak did felt like a cliche from a movie again all due respect to the idea of being hopeful and looking for something and planning for something to be there well there's also a certain amount of responsibility that a coach like dabble sweetie has not just of his programs university because frankly to the fans there and the greater Clemson South Carolina into northwest Georgia northeast your department area like there is a responsibility that comes with your words and he's just talking as if he's trying to will something into existence I'm sorry to all sides don't play that that's not how science works the virus is going to determine everything into have the expectation that you're going to have a hundred people a hundred fifty people to other people with staff member being involved in a training camp in July I mean again it's one thing to be hopeful John but there is like some responsibility here and you just can't be you have to be more careful it's disturbing here's the thing I hope it is in is much conviction as he said that within you you guys know this because you hear a lot oftentimes coaches are sending that message is not for you and it's not for me and it's not for real it is to how do I keep the fan bases happy how do I make those how do I play to the audience which is you know what my audience it's like when coaches complain sometimes about the kickoffs they kick off so early we kick off sold late and it's easy because they then then whoever broadcasted becomes the bad guy I I make I placate my audience in might people are coming in but in truth I'm just trying to get my message out there because I know if all we're gonna do is kick off at noon on Saturday the my salary is not going to be five million dollars is gonna go back to be about three hundred fifty thousand dollars so I really don't want to kick off on noon on Saturday and I'm totally happy to kick off at eleven AM central R. seven thirty Pacific if that keeps all the money coming in from the conferences in the TV networks but my idea is I'm gonna show with my my comments on the show with the faithful that that I'm on their side and I think that in in the best case scenario hopefully that's what this is what but I do think there's a lot to learn from people in that yep we did we put a man on the moon and we've got a rover on Mars and we've got iPhones in these tremendous tremendous inventions but it just goes to show the power of here's a germ and right now for the longest time we've been clueless about it I mean yet researchers the brightest minds in the world are working day and night around the world on this thing and it's just a germ that without a human dies in in in in a few moments you know and so it shows this is part of the reason we're weakening and shows part of the reason that the human body is in is a is in terms of on the rest of the the the the world the natural kingdom right were weak beast if we didn't have a really good brain natural selection would take us out right now we're not fast like cheaters were not struck right and so they had to go out there protect yet we've done all these things so we're just gonna like a virus it made it doesn't work that way it just doesn't and so if you really had yourself that fooled and if that's what you truly believe then you really actually need to make a black a backup plan because and if it comes to comes to fruition just like you said it's been terrific and I'm glad you have that faith I like to think I have faith but I also like to think that maybe now's not the time to have kind of been the congregation tomorrow morning I don't think that makes me doesn't make me a less of a believer but I do think just hearing that and if I just take that at face value in trying not to read the best into it at that's disturbing and if you're gonna do that then don't get down on Herbie when he says I don't think we're gonna have one because I don't think Herbie and dabble I think their medical backgrounds are simple very similar and sold once is gonna plan once as I have some doubts I don't think we need to rip one or the other in terms of the validity of their belief I just think one might actually be more scientifically validated in the other here's the other problem that goes with it though his actions because he reportedly flew a private plane with his family to Florida and is planning on doing it again Easter and says well the plane was sanitized we don't have any concerns when you couple the actions with the word yes and you are what you are in the south and and what jabot Sweeney is in terms of popularity people look at him it you know as the president of South Carolina as it you know with as much respect as they would the president of the country so if double doesn't think it's a big deal yeah that's not a big deal we're gonna be okay that is the unconscious message in his optimism that would worry me it is a poor display of leadership that's totally what it is because the things that you just said and alluded to earlier the impact that he has and everyone there you said it right here's the deal not everybody can get on a private plane the way devil SUNY canton go somewhere maybe this sanitized maybe all this family is safe and all the people at the airport terminal or stick with it maybe that is but if some other people they're looking to dabble going to enjoy family vacation maybe they're gonna hop in their car and drive somewhere and do the same thing but then again what are you doing as it relates to what we're trying to do collectively as a country to get past this and if everybody does the same thing for an extended period of time maybe we could have football in September but the problem is we're not doing that because you get coaches depend on private airplanes going on vacation we've got a governor telling people in Georgia to shelter in place within the next day opens the beaches so what what are we doing here and just having this belief in in American imperialism to be able to do all these great things and come up with this thing yeah that's great and I thought I hope we do come up with a vaccine in two months whereby can get I really believe that but to sit here and say that it's going to be that way just because you want it to be is setting a bad tone for your program and for your community because to me again you have responsibility with the words and actions based on your platform in your position and dabble sweetie doesn't seemingly give a damn about that because he just wants things to be his weight when the virus doesn't give a damn about his way it's you know it's bothersome there's no question about that and you know it wouldn't when people pay attention to that Mike I think you're right on point you know that's it when it's when it's double Sweeney talking there's an awful lot of people listening next up we're gonna take a deeper look into the basketball hall of fame class of two thousand twenty it's game night with Chris Carlin Michael eaves and John Anderson right here on ESPN radio and ESPN at the show tonight is the team with the last dance ten part documentary series beginning "All his d one college coach ever to six hundred wins yesterday. Faster Than K. Faster than wooded faster than Gino. Faster than summit. Jackie is Kim Mulkey. The best ever doing well. She certainly on her way to being the best ever to do what she hasn't been around quite long enough as long as say Gene Oruma. Who got to one thousand wins with only one hundred thirty five losses? But here's what I love about. Kim Mulkey she took over that program and they were seven twenty the previous year and she said I think a winning year every single year that she's been there that's really hard to do when you're turning. Approach them around like she has. She's on the ballot for the hall of fame as a player slashed coach. She's going to get in. She deserves to be there. She's one of the best player and coach. Forget the slash Sarahspain. This reminds me of the best ever on the NBA side rights oriented Bill Russell got all the titles and then you got Pat Summitt. Who's kind of like the Michael Jordan? She made the thing happen. So that anyone who follows does something. Great doesn't really exist without her. So Kim Mulkey sort of like the Lebron even if she were to passer and achievements we would still always give it to summit which I think is there. She was washing uniforms for her team. Well coaching them and showed them into an era of rights and people paying attention so I still think summits Jordan but there's a spot for all of that land with everybody. I think I follow you. Sarah Spain to shove you. I'll say this. It's very hard to get into the conversation with Oriana and in summit their way beyond everybody but Kim Mulkey is getting there and the way to look at a record of six hundred and one hundred basically if you coach twenty years which he had you'd have to go thirty five Twenty Street. That's incredible.

And it wouldn't I wouldn't say it'd be measured out, but there'd be enough, you know, you'd have to have a specific amount for the post workout meal. So if we're to go by sushi or go buy something like good and on you know, my brother, I would ask. Oh, let me get let me taste it. We'd say I can't spare the nutrients, so I can't give you any. I wanna share. But I can't the nutrients from from my workout, whatever. That's no, that's. Oh, yeah. Yeah. That's what you do with your crew and the less that after a few hours of failure of getting more krill oil, generally Baben came through with the krill oil. Nice. Yeah. So it's kind of your back in the game. Oh, huge time. So ironic that Leif is their husband. Yeah. Went through the same deal. Yeah. Yeah. You gotta be careful with that. You don't want to run off. Yeah. And you mentioned where your kid mock. If you've got kids get more your kid MLK, don't even play around don't even play around. What are you gonna give them? Hershey's syrup to make chocolate milk, you'd even Nestle's quick to make chocolate milk. Why don't you just give them a big glass of type two diabetes? Because that's what you're doing. Yeah. Or you can say, hey, here's something that tastes better. And is incredibly good for you. So there you go where Kim mulkey you can get some of that police show. Also you want to represent while on the path chocolate store. It's called Jaakko store. Obviously original. Yeah. We all know that. Coach Jim Roope, Minneapolis. They get it in they win denied by. Trip goal from ESPN as the Baylor. Lady bears. Have yet another championship under their belts beating Notre Dame? Eighty to eighty one last night for their national title at one point the bears were up by seventeen points. So. Really ill biter an exciting. Kim mulkey the women's tournament doesn't get much play. I think it should I agree with you. It certainly should. But what are you gonna do? You know, they they scheduled. And so that they're not both on the same night. So it's kind of like an opening act. We don't do brackets, right? We need to be next year. We should do a women's bracket to. That's good. I do. Yes. I like that idea that you mentioned I'm wondering if I won. "Around as Baylor dominated for long stretches, while Cox was healthy. And in the game the lead at one point swelled to seventeen the final margin just a skinny point eighty two to eighty one the final so Baylor is your national champion clipping Notre Dame by a point and the Baylor lady bears now three zero and championship games. Now. Joined by the head coach Kim mulkey coach, congratulations to you. And your program that you spoke at great length. This week about selflessness about the sense of team with for this group. And you lose one of your leaders. Lord Cox in the late stage. Third quarter take us into that moment and the stretch thereafter. Well, obviously, it's emotional. She's are probably all around best player. I had her garden on the perimeter tonight. And the need just gave out on didn't see any anything other than her starts screaming. And when she did, I know that screen too. Well, and I just had to go out there and do what a mama and coach would do, and I can't quit crime. But I'm so happy our kids fault through because guys you're not supposed to win this game. When you lose one of your top place was too much time left in the game. It all gets going at six thirty eastern with championship Monday into the opening tip between Texas Tech Virginia at nine twenty eastern. But before we do all of that tomorrow night. We got the women's national championship between Baylor and Notre Dame and for preview the man who's going to call the action at Tampa, John Sadek. Thanks, Jason champion will be crowned here in Tampa Baylor collides with Notre Dame and these are programs that have won multiple championships. Baylor's Kim mulkey spoke about how hard it is to win a title. How many national championships is much at one? On how many of our one? How long has she been coaching years? I don't know. Probably a heck of a lot longer than me. Does that tell you? How hard it is. It is so hard to win championships. You can be the favorite in win them. I've been the favourite and not one of my been the underdog in one. There are no guarantees in this business. That's why you cherish the moment of the other side for Notre Dame Muffin McGraw has been here and done that just last year took down Yukon last year, as well an emotional experience that last year she thought needed to be addressed had to talk about the Yukon win not being the national championship. This time around she has experienced under side. I think the experiences key. I think they've all been here before with exception, exceptional Brown. And she was here. I think is a freshman in in the final game. So they've all had experience at this level. I think that there's no. Substitute for experience. I mean, really being in this moment before I think will help us that'll be the matchup as Baylor meets Notre Dame, the number one overall seed on the women's side and Baylor riding the best win streak at women's basketball against the Notre Dame team blessed with a starting five that has scored over ten thousand points trying to become the first non Yukon or Tennessee repeat champion since USC in the early eighties. Let's go back to Minneapolis final four on the men's side with our men, Jason Horowitz, John. So you got the ACC in the big twelve going on in Tampa on the women's side. And you're going to have the ACC and the big twelve here in Minneapolis on the men's side with Virginia and Texas Tech. "They run a lot of drop coverage with her and in college, which is just the post player being depressed until they force that jump shot by by the guard coming off or. That's what they're conceding is that long to the guard going over the top doesn't defender. Not many kids in college can hit that consistently. But in the pros that can so the there's some there's some things there that I think, you know, you could you could certainly have her coach say Hyder because that implies that she's not she's not capable, but you could find ways to to try and alleviate some of those blind spots in their game per se may maybe they're not like, maybe she'll get up there, and she'll be able to handle it. But we just haven't seen enough or I haven't seen enough sample size for the college level doing some of those those pro things where you have to be out on the floor. And and. Nor should you. 'cause I mean, if I had her in college, too, I would put her in the paint and say stop it, you know, work change when you stop it. Then don't so. Yeah, that's kind of what I see you know, what I see for her. But certainly the ability to hit that shot. It's never like I I never watched a player in and say I and I don't know if you have. But I've never watched the players that you know, what they're to versatile. Like, I don't know how how I can deal with that. Right. You know, like they they have their good at too many things. Right. Like, there's never thing. Usually, just okay. She's limited here. She's limited there. So I think her her getting more confidence in her jump shot is only positive thing. I don't know if you're necessarily going to call for picking pop with her on an open side for a game winning three. Maybe not. Okay. Right. But, but I think that's a that's a positive thing to keep people honest if she's able to hit that was regularity at the next level. That's certainly would maybe put some indecision and coaches is in terms of how they. Play a pick and roll action with her if she able to consistently hit that. Yeah. You know, it's it's I mean, I've I've enjoyed watching what the bigs are doing just the evolution, you know, especially at the WNBA level. But I one thing I find fascinating is that Kim mulkey has never moved away from a big post, you know, like in the day of even the small ball movement, which you know, you could say still alive, whatever, you know. Everyone wants that five player that could step out and shoot it Kim has consistently wanted a big body on the block, right? And in a game. Like, this you see especially with the size of Lauren Cox who had five blocks..
