"Without Booker and without Chris Paul in the game, he's averaging a minimum of 25 minutes, 20 points. He's hit over two and a half three pointers and three of his last four games. So right now, the mindset for the sons is next men up and cam Johnson, you know, you know I like Jay crowd or I won the best bet the other day on him. I know you're all over ayton. I'm sure you are. You know, holiday, a lot of guys are going to have to step up. But I really liked Kim Johnson over three pointers tonight as well. Yeah, we might have to thread the needle here a bit. I see two 22 and a half with that total. I would lay it with the suns. I know this looks fishy, but the sun's even without Chris Paul and Devin Booker are just wildly better than the New York Knicks. I mean, this is a deep, awesome team. And even when they don't have their two best players, they're still a lot of really, really good players, campaign is a capable point guard when CP three is not in there and then of course guys like Jay Crowder, Kim Johnson, Deandre ayton Mikhail bridges, they all pick up the slack in terms of the scoring that's lost with Devin Booker. So my official play Anita is the sun's team total over one 14 and a half. This is a team that's 9th in the NBA in pace and the suns. And I really think the biggest reason I'm isolating the sun side that they'll score a lot of points is because the next defense is just falling into the tank. It's atrocious now. They have over their last ten games, a one 17.5 defensive rating, which means they allow a 117 and a half points per 100 possessions. Over that ten game stretch that ranks 28th in the NBA. But if you use that defensive rating over the course of this entire season, if that's the way the Knicks have been playing over the course of this entire season, they'd rank dead last in defensive rating behind the Houston Rockets. One 17 and a half is a bad defensive rating. And I think that ten game stretching with the Knicks in which the Knicks are one in 9 is indicative of just where they're at right now. They've kind of given up, they don't play hard on defense. And I think the sun's team at home will take advantage of that. And score at least a 115 points. I also like them to cover the 6 and a half because I think this line is just not giving enough respect to the others on the Phoenix Suns team. Again, a team that went to the NBA Finals and took Giannis and koda 6 games last year, even though they're missing CP three of Devin Booker. There's still a deep loaded team. So my official play team total over one 14 and a half and I would lay the 6 and a half with the suns there. Some other games, at least worth mentioning in the NBA. That have caught our eye, we have the let's see here, the tea walls land 9 and a half on the road at OKC and the TiVos have just been an interesting team. They're 25 and 7 to the over on the road this season. I repeat. Tea wolves games on the road. Have gone over almost 80% of the time this season. If that matters to you, the total set at two 29 and a half in OKC tonight. Let's switch gears though and hop on the links. That's how we open this presentation. Right now, your boy Victor hovland is doing some work at bay hill and the Arnold Palmer invite hovland open with I think a three under on Thursday and he's been on fire so far Friday morning as of recording. He sits alone atop the leaderboard 6 under through 16 holes today, which has him too clear of Rory McIlroy, Rory fired an opening around 700, but he hasn't teed off yet as of recording this on Friday. So your boy Victor hovland, who you isolated preflop as someone is absolutely bawling today. He has the solo lead before Rory teas off on Friday. And I know that's kind of how you wanted to spend this forward looking at the masters, which is coming up in about a month, month and a half at Augusta because Rory is playing good golf here at bay hill like he always does. And if you look at the odds for Rory and Augusta only John rahm, of course, has shorter odds than Rory heading into that tournament. That could change. I imagine Anita if Rory keeps ball like he has playing well like he has here at bay hill. Yeah, so I'm gonna toot my own horn. I don't do it often, but if you recall, last week, burger was my golfer of choice. Unfortunately, he wet the bed on Sunday, but he went in as the top of the leaderboard had a do you know he had an 85% chance of winning last week and just marinating that. Hovland, I chose him to win this week, and right now he's got a 26.8% chance of winning this tournament. He's got a two shot lead right now. He sticks under through 16, as you said. But Rory hasn't even teed off yet. He teased off at about 20 minutes around 1257 p.m. and he's two shots back. Right now you can still put money on hovland to win this at two to one. Hopefully you heard you watched daily wager and you read our column and you got him at better odds on Wednesday, but nonetheless, let's look ahead to the masters. Now, a few things to note here in regard to Rory, right? Like, he always starts fast here at bay hill. This is, of course, that suits his game to a T so first and foremost, like his game is on point. Number two, he's finally working with his coach again, Mike Bannon. Because of COVID rules, he was not Bannon was not allowed to travel with him the past two years. And so now because, you know, the rules, you know, everything has kind of been lifted, travels a little bit more easier. Now Bannon is able to travel here to the United States and they've been working really hard and another thing, you know, keep in mind, as we know, like the masters is the one major that Rory has not been able to win. And he's looking, of course, to complete that, right? And be one of very few in the history of the PGA to win all four majors. And you can get him right now at 14 to one, Tyler, to win the masters..

"Jokic will destroy him. He's just three small like, like Jay is like six foot five, but like a 611 wingspan like your page. Just going to shoot over the top of him and frankly, like Jay is really strong. Yokich is stronger and we'll just like bury him on the Block. So and that's where you're coming, ten and Covington's like six, six, eight. And like a guy. Yeah. I do think that Phoenix wins feel like, again to me that the depth wage And obviously a star and book who's playing at a incredibly high level but to me like Phoenix is real players like these young guys like first of all campaign, like those guys him alone with like kind of revitalized his career and it's played like a major role Off the Bench for them has been pretty fun to watch cuz I got nothing on that one. What do you mean? How? How did that happen? Often? I don't know, right? I'm like I mean there's times where you need you just like on a 10-day radar and now he he did sign a 10-day actually right in the sound of the rest of the year. Yeah. Yeah. Super cool. I love and like he kind of plays with some swaggering some confidence and kind of clearly has a clear understanding of who he is now as a player. And he's, it's crazy seeing it again, his office, Resurgence of, but then like you have the young. I love mikal Bridges. I love. Kim Johnson like to Quality Wing Defenders and shot-makers. So, yep. I mean, I think Phoenix pulls this off and yeah I could find games like you but I mean, I mean, sorry, Sam, my boss right Drake. Do you have any other strong takes on this Phoenix series? I feel like, I feel like once we get to the point where campaign is the third leading scorer on the Phoenix Suns and the playoffs that thought it might be all we need. I mean, I love seeing Austin Rivers. Blow it up a little bit for Denver. Michael, Porter Jr. Continues to be, you know, is awesome as what people thought he would be coming out for them as well, but it, It's just tough. When you don't have the Firepower in the backcourt, I feel like totally agree. All right, let's see here. How do we do you want to finish with like, five minutes of draft stuff? I'll just ask you, who is, who is the guy that in watching some tape this year? Who's the guy that's like stood out to you, is like way underneath the radar way underneath the range? I don't even way underneath, but just like the guy that you think is way better than where people have them how interesting I was going to talk about Josh..

"Went viral. Everyone started knows him. But the production they're getting out of their Young Guns of him and Garland is excellent. So far this season and there another team that's owned not allowing. I think a hundred three or a hundred four points per game. So they're bought in on the defensive side of the ball and sex and like you said, yeah, he's going to be a 20 + square in every game. He's not seriously thought this guy but he's smart decision maker with the ball in his hands and I think Javale McGee is also playing some really good ball for them on the defensive side. Who knows maybe the Cavs could scrap into the name. With their a seat in the East anything's possible this year. This could be a a big season for him early in his career. Yeah, they can be the magic like what the magic have done every single year and go like, you know Thirty 8042 or something like that and just hit the 7 or 8 seed that can be the Cavs. Why not? I would just saying how the Cavs could really be making a push right now how they have they have taken someone else there in that spot. But who knows? Like I said earlier with Kim Johnson, I wasn't really sold on him coming out of the draft. So not really that good in that category, but there's a few other teams that has taken a look at and it's really it's really interesting to see who's playing good ball and his playing, you know, a little bit of lackadaisical here at the beginning of the year and it seemed that confused me with their offseason acquisitions the Pistons. They just don't have an identity. I don't know what direction they're heading. It's a really confusing team to me and really sad news. I mean, I don't sad might be the wrong word. I'm no doctor but I did see the killing Hayes has a tear in his hip this month. So that sucks. I was really happy to watch him play this year. He hasn't actually played that much but he's a bright young player. You hate to see that happen. There's just nothing going right in Detroit..

"Female character, because I felt like I was I was writing for all the like little girls growing up who wanted to like be able to have that experience, and so I think just imagining even as hard as it was really Cathartic to try to take the issues of the world and feel. Feel like I could actually resolve them in a story and I could actually control I think a of like what we're experiencing now for those of us that are paying attention and caring about what's happening to black people in this in this country is that there's so much that doesn't feel like it's out of control. It's so much feels like we just can't fix it. And so for me, I really like I enjoy the opportunity to be able to write something that addressed an issue happening, but you know I could have A. A main character who could discover explorer be part of solving an issue or trying to resolve an issue, and and it was just been able to be in that narrators head for so much in so much of that writing process like I felt like I was like outside of myself. Riding like I felt like there was so much inspiration that was happening that it almost wasn't even like I was writing. It was sort of like this out of body experience, and it was just an amazing experience to be a part in now. Now that I'm looking at the timing of my book coming out and was happening in the world I felt like part of that energy to write was coming from another place, a higher power higher being you know, and I know that there's people who don't believe in that kind of stuff, but I do believe that there are people who have a purpose and I think that everyone has a purpose, and if you can tap into it, you can make broader impact, and that's really what I'm hoping. I did with my book. I love that especially, because in the book Tracy was my hero few. Would so. Strong. She's just like her mom. She knows how to get things done, and she doesn't give up a lot of times in young adult novels. You have the strong black women's do type. Then there's this constant theme where they feel down and there's just this feeling of despair. In although Tracy was going through so many things with her dad and her. Friendships and Everything that was going on in her life. I think that she was a character that really showed that latte girls have magic and that we just get things done. So. Thank you so much for talking to me today. I really love this conversation because I. got some insight into your mind, and I got to hear more about what is now. One of my favorite books ever goes. Those just mercy in new Jim, crow, as to who books that were early influences in terms of my writing, and wanting to actually write a topic that dealt with the broader topic of mass incarceration in our criminal justice system because. The works that were shared some important to think about how you know what that sort of that first interaction in terms of a police interaction, but that's just a small slice of the actual experiences like what happens when you actually have. You know you're you're arrested or you can have a CLEEF browder. who was a young man who stole a backpack and because he couldn't pay bail? He was in rikers for three years as a really young man and he ended up. Dying by suicide because of the abuse that he faced in so I really wanted to tell a story that just didn't focus on. Something that is so violent. It's so in your face because you have video, but there's so much. It's not in video and so when I read Brian's work that I. Realize that I could actually talk about the spectrum on the almost opposite end of that i. sort of police interaction could have opportunities to have a reader make the connection of the threat from the moment of interaction with police all the way through about what does a witness. A jury quick. What does a witness testimony look like? What does the presumption of guilt? Look like based on race and class? And, so a lot of that have been decided like yeah. I wanted to write this book. I think the interesting thing about it that I think you know so amazing. Now Book coming out this summer is that. Bright when I got my publishing deal.
